You're listening to a message to go from X Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your.
-
Day today's word. And if you have these little booklets,
-
we are actually doing twelve plus one core values. Now
-
there are basically the core values of X church, right,
-
but they're not how should I say, just for X.
-
They are basically it's like the early church. It is
-
like how it was during the time of the Book
-
of X. And what were those values that made it
-
very special for them? My word I'm sweating is the
-
aircon on. It is right, that's what happens when you're
-
seeing without practicing. Okay, you sweat, Okay, praise the Lord,
-
you know, Okay, word faithful, Let's go on. In Acts
-
two forty two, it says, and they continued stadfastly in
-
the apostles, doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread
-
and impress. Here they continued stadfastly in the apostles. What doctrine?
-
What was the doctrine? The doctrine basically is the Word
-
of God. Hey, guys, you and I, we live by
-
our thoughts, we live by our actions, we live by
-
our work. But what's important is we live by the
-
Word of God. All right now. In Matthew twenty four
-
thirty five, it says this heaven and earth. Heaven and
-
Earth will pass away, but my words will by no
-
means pass away. Now, I wanted to study this, and
-
I went a little bit deeper into this word heaven
-
and Earth. And I thought, before I studied it that
-
this word heaven actually means like the sky. You know,
-
it means like out of space. You know, it means
-
that that kind of heaven, and it does. It means that.
-
But I was shocked to learn that it also means
-
the abode of God. That's what that word means. The
-
one really shocked me, all right. And then of course
-
it says earth. Now Earth, you know what earth is.
-
We are standing on Earth, although we are eleven stories up,
-
so we're standing on concrete, right, But it is still
-
on the earth because without the earth, this building will
-
be floating and that does not happen. So heaven and
-
Earth will pass away. So it is not saying that
-
the heaven of the abode of God is going to
-
pass away. It's not staying saying that. It is drawing
-
something so fantastic for us to understand what he's trying
-
to get at So he's saying, even my abode can
-
pass away, but my word will by no means pass away.
-
So what is God actually telling us in this scripture?
-
God is actually putting the Word of God in its
-
perspective and place, in his realm, in his understanding, in
-
how he expects you and us to live. He has
-
actually put it as the most important thing his word.
-
This word will not pass away. In other words, the
-
most fantastic thing you can think of will not last.
-
But my word is eternal. Who is the word? Jesus
-
is the word. So that's the first thing we learn
-
next week. Learn the Word of God is so central
-
to the life of a Christian simply because it is unshakeable.
-
It is unshakable. Guys, you and I will face so
-
many things in life. We're gonna face troubles at work.
-
We're gonna face joyful time with our family. We are
-
gonna face heartache with them as well. It's not gonna
-
be easy. There'll be fights, there'll be strife. Hey, look,
-
we're gonna face challenges. Some will be good, some won't
-
be so good. We're gonna face all kinds of things.
-
I am sixty five years old and I think only
-
talked by you, sister least all right, and the Chinese
-
says she's eaten more salt? Am I right? Okay, so
-
I eat a little bit less salt than you, and
-
all of the rest got a long bags of salt
-
to eat before they come to our level. All right,
-
bags and bags kilograms or salt. Don't eat all the
-
salt and thing you'll get to our stage. Okay, that's
-
not what the Chinese proverb means. But what I'm sure
-
she will tell you, and I am here to tell you,
-
is despite every issue that we've gone in life, having children,
-
seeing them grow up, go to school, go to college,
-
get married, all these things, God has been the one
-
to help us through the tough stuff, and every time
-
we face the difficulty, we ran to his word. Jeremiah
-
thirty three says Jeremiah thirty three, verse three. Let me
-
read that to you. It says, this call on to me,
-
and I will answer you and show you great and
-
mighty things which you do not know. This is what
-
the word of God says. Man. If you understand that word,
-
you won't be afraid when something bad happens. I remember
-
that when I was in school, I was in. I
-
was studying in Singapore, right, And I've told this to
-
many people that during the time I was studying there,
-
I was staying in a hostel. So I'd go to
-
school the whole day. I'll be in school from seven
-
in the morning because I have to start actually getting
-
on the bus at six. I'll reach school around seven
-
seven fifteen. I'll be in school from seven until seven
-
in the night. Why because I did all sorts of things.
-
I was the tennis coach. I was all the whole shebang.
-
I will reach my hostel back at eight eight thirty.
-
Then I go and have my dinner, do my little
-
bit of homework, do my studies, and eleven o'clock, you
-
know what I do, go to church. What was I
-
doing in church? Praying for deliverance cases together with the
-
pastor from eleven to maybe three am, four am, five am,
-
catch one or two hours sleep, and repeat the whole
-
cycle again. This is what I did almost every day.
-
So I would go and share with my friends what
-
the Word of God could do and how demons came
-
out in the name of Jesus, because the Word of
-
God said it so. Based on Jeremiah thirty three, I
-
wrote in my one of my friend's autograph books. So
-
many years later I lost track of them. It's about
-
ten fifteen years later. No, in fact, not thirty years later.
-
Thirty years later I get into contact with one of them,
-
one of my classmates. So I asked him, what are
-
you doing? He says, I'm a pastor. I said, what
-
you're pastor? How did that happen? He says, you're to blame.
-
I said, what do you mean I'm to blame. I
-
haven't seen you in thirty years. He says, don't you
-
remember what you wrote in my autograph book? I said,
-
are you kidding? I can't remember what I wrote last night.
-
I'm going to remember what I wrote thirty five years ago.
-
He says, this is what you wrote in my auto Now,
-
how many of you know what an autograph book is? Okay?
-
A few of us older ones? Oh, the young ones also, okay, okay, okay,
-
this little book. And then before you leave cal you
-
gave everybody in. They write nonsense inside most of the time,
-
they write nonsense. Most of the time. Roses are red,
-
violence are blue. You know, no one looks as ugly
-
as you. All that kind of nonsense. They were right
-
in your autograph book. But I wrote this. I wrote,
-
if ever you run into trouble, call on the name
-
of Jesus and he will come and he will help you.
-
That's what I wrote to him. He said, that's what
-
you wrote to me. So he said, what happened? I said,
-
He said, well, I was on my yacht. By the way,
-
this friend of mine, he was a multi millionaire. So
-
even when he was studying with me, he was so rich.
-
His father bought him car in nineteen seventy nine. If
-
you were in Singapore and you owned a car, you
-
were very rich. In fact, if you own a car
-
in Singapore now you are very rich. So anyway, he
-
was so rich. He was so rich his father bought
-
him a car. I remember it was a Nissan Blue Bird.
-
So anyway, he said, I was on my yacht and
-
I was alone in the ocean, and something happened and
-
I was about to die. Everything was not working. I
-
was alone, and that was it. It was a gone
-
case for me at that moment. I remembered what you
-
wrote in my autograph book, and I called on the
-
name of Jesus, and this is what he said. Jesus
-
came walking on the water and saved him. He said,
-
the moment he got to show, he gave everything up
-
and went to serve the Lord full time. He's a
-
pastor today. He's a pastor in Indonesia. And you and
-
I we think the word of God is just words. No,
-
it's not solid, it's unshakable, it's immovable. It does not
-
you know, if I were to be a person, one
-
day I speak to you this, and the next day
-
I speak to you that, do you have trust in
-
what I say? If I flip flop like that, I
-
mean I'm not steady, I'm not sure. I'm not immovable
-
when I say something that is just talking rand Do
-
you know people like that? I know people like that.
-
But the ones who are firmed. Once it's said, it's done,
-
it's done, finish. So the moment they say it's taken
-
care of, you walk away and you already know. I
-
don't need to worry about it. That's God, unshakable, immovable,
-
You can count on it, the word of God. So
-
the word is exalted above God's own name. This is
-
another one that I struggle with. Wow, your word is
-
above your name? Until we understand that God's name is
-
the embodiment of his word. You and I sometimes we
-
take the name of Jesus. Very likely you Cantonese people,
-
more cong yes, soon? Why not? I learned this a
-
long time ago. What more cong YAsO me? Don't talk
-
Jesus literally means don't talk nonsense? Why not? Okay? You
-
all are very you don't answer. Okay, I'm telling you
-
that's what it means. Right. I'm sixty years old, sixty
-
five years old. This is what we learn not during
-
the seventies. You know how it helped me. One day
-
I was meeting with a contractor and a contractor was
-
trying to cheat us, trying to cheat us a six
-
hundred dollars. So when I questioned him, then the contractor
-
spoke no. The consultants spoke to the contractor more cong
-
So I took very dramatic I took the big file
-
of the contract and I threw it on the table.
-
He said, more con What did you tell him not
-
to tell me? So I learned some as cantonist. God's
-
word is not like that. God's word is exalted above
-
his own name. Hey, do you believe it that when
-
you pray for people they will get healed? Okay, you're
-
saying amen just because I'm asking the question, or you
-
really believe it. If you really believe it, then you
-
are God's power on this earth today to bring healing
-
to your friends. Hey, God's word did not say only
-
the pastors can lay hands in the name of Jesus
-
and the people will be healed. You are a rotten person,
-
so if you pray in the name of Jesus, nothing
-
will happen. Guys, God's Scripture, in God's Scripture, we are
-
already known to be rotten. Scripture says there's no good, no,
-
not one, not even one. So if you look at
-
yourself in the mirror and say you're good, God's word
-
looks at you and says you're not good, not even one.
-
But you see, God did not institute that as the
-
criteria for his word to work. What was the criteria
-
instituted for the for the word to work? His name?
-
Because his name is above everything else. I don't know
-
whether I shared this with you before, but this one
-
will help you. But please don't do it unless the
-
Lord speaks to you. I don't want you to say, oh,
-
I did something like this because the speaker said that, No, no, no,
-
you are responsible for your own faith. My daughter was
-
about a year old. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, just lessen
-
a year and we went to church and she was
-
crying and crying and crying, none stop crying and crying
-
and crying. But we were in church to do what
-
to worship God? God first, this is my understanding. Okay,
-
God first, I'm so bad. I let my daughter cry.
-
I know why she was crying. I mean I don't
-
have extra vision, so I don't know why she's crying. Okay,
-
she cried immediately after the service, after the worship was over,
-
she was still crying. That would be now four to
-
six hours. So I told my wife, let's take her
-
to the hospital. So we took her to the hospital.
-
And when we went to the hospital, the doctor did
-
an national examination and say, she's dislocated the army. Baby,
-
She's just located arm. So when you carry a child,
-
don't carry a child with the two arms. You just
-
carry the two arms. Let not good, carry the child
-
under the arm with the body. That's how you carry
-
a child anyway. So he says, I'm going to get
-
the X ray ready. I looked at my wife and
-
my daughter was still sitting on her lap and still crying.
-
So she was sitting down. I was standing up. I
-
had a toy in my hand, but my daughter was crying.
-
And I looked at my wife and I said, I
-
am not happy with my child going through an X
-
ray at this age. So let's pray. Father. We went
-
through a service, we honored you, and your word says
-
that we honor you. You'll be there for us, You'll
-
honor us back. So Father, I pray in the name
-
of Jesus, heal her right now. In Jesus name, me pray.
-
And the moment I said in Jesus Name, I pray,
-
my daughter reached out to grab the toy from me
-
with the arm that was supposed to be dislocated, and
-
immediately she started giggling and giggling and giggling, from crying
-
to giggling and giggling and giggling and laughing and gig
-
she was laughing. So I just looked at my wife
-
and says, she's healed. Let's go. So I just took
-
her to the counter. I'm telling you the truth. I
-
just took her to the counter. Tell the doctor not necessary,
-
she's healed. And I walked up. Why is that where
-
is the name of Jesus. God's word is exalted above
-
his own name. In Psalms one thirty eight, verse two,
-
it says, I will worship two words your holy temple,
-
and praise your name for your loving kindness and your truth.
-
For your name have magnified your word above For you
-
have magnified your word above all your name. Wow, you
-
have magnified your word above all your name. That was
-
an act of God. You say it was God who
-
has done it. God has said the word is going
-
to be above my name. Because he said it. I
-
believe it. I believe it because he said it. And
-
I know, yes, I know the Lord is going to
-
see me through. That's a song, by the way, So
-
it means eh. Okay, let me tell you what is
-
that word exhoct It means advance, boast, bring up, exceed, excellence, increase,
-
lift up, magnify, be much, set by, nourished, promoted. That's
-
what this word means. Exalted above it means to make large.
-
God has made large his name. And then we talk
-
about what is his name. That word name means name.
-
It also means above all his fame, above all his renown.
-
In other words, God is identified by his name, and
-
the word exceeds even that. It is an honor, it
-
is an authority and character. Wow, Jesus, Jesus Jesus was called,
-
is called what the word? The word made flesh When
-
everything else feels, go back to the word. I tell
-
you that. On eighteenth of December twenty twenty five, I
-
was doing some work in base Cam and I hurt
-
my knee. I hurt my right knee. Wow. I thought
-
it would go away. You know, guys, we tried me. Macho,
-
We don't go to the doctor straight away. I'll get better.
-
One month went to two, Two months went to three.
-
Finally three and a half months. I decided to go
-
ahead to the doctor. Three and a half months. I'm
-
walking like this every day now, every day like this
-
for three months. Three and a half months, I went
-
to the doctor, who took an X ray. Then the
-
doctor tone, there's nothing wrong with your leg except you know,
-
it's muscles. Your age, see age, your age. You got
-
to go for physio. You got to learn how to
-
use your leg again. I mean, I've been walking for
-
sixty five years. All of a sudden, I got to
-
learn how to use my leg again. What's wrong with
-
this guide? So anyway, your leg you're old, you're this,
-
you're that. That was what the doctor said. So anyway,
-
I continue. Then I have to walk. I have to
-
open up the school on a Wednesday. That's my turn
-
to open up the school at seventy am. The thing
-
about this is that the doors, the glass doors, the
-
locker is on the floor. What's wrong with this? In
-
militia you go to China, all the glass doors, the
-
locker here. You know why on earth we got to
-
go down there? I have no idea. Seriously, it's so crazy.
-
The problem is I go down, I cannot come up.
-
Really serious, truthfully, I cannot come up. And then I
-
hold the handler to pull myself up. And then I
-
was afraid I will break the glass door because how
-
many of you know I don't weigh five pounds. This
-
cannot work. So what I did was I say, okay, God,
-
now mine it is my duty. I will buy a
-
pole a staff so that when I go on a Wednesday,
-
I'll go down and look and use the staff to
-
get up. So I was like the last abender, you know,
-
I brought my own staff. I brought my own staff
-
to the office so that day I actually only one sir.
-
I bend down and then I unlocked and I put
-
the staff and I pulled myself up in work. So
-
I got up. But you know what God wanted to
-
see to what extent I would go, still believing in
-
trusting him, but still doing what I needed to do
-
because it was right. And you know, I take a
-
picture and I put it on the group to say
-
those are open. You know what was my words there?
-
I encourage the rest of the school. I say every
-
initial bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
-
So in my pain, I confess the word. That was
-
Monday Wednesday. One man met me outside and then after
-
that they say, hey, you're having problems walking. I see
-
you struggling. They say, yeah, yeah, I got this problem
-
with me. He says, come and see me, Come and
-
see me on Monday. He happened to have been the
-
professor of Cairo, not Cairo, professor of physiotherapy with Cyberjaya University.
-
So I went to see him. So he checked my
-
knee out and he said, oh, you went to the doctor.
-
Yeah yeah, yeah, you took X ray. Yes, Why did
-
doctor say nothing wrong? He says, my age, I'm old
-
muscle's I got to learn how to walk again. Then
-
he says, I tell you what you know, what's your problem?
-
You got to dislocated me and don't worry ill. He
-
didn't give me any notice, No notice given, and suddenly
-
I can move my knee. I said, Wow, I'm okay,
-
I'm all right. The next day I went walking ten
-
kilometers again. That's God, that's how God comes through. I
-
confessed the word. I spoke the word at the time
-
when I was feeling pain, and God saw that I
-
was still willing to do the right thing. He arranged
-
the situation for someone to come and help me. So
-
I asked the doctor. How come the doctor cannot see
-
with an X rayed at my knees like that? He
-
shook his head. So until today, I'm also shaking my head.
-
So I'm waiting to see that doctor again. I got
-
a question to ask. So anyway, Jesus was called the word.
-
The word made flesh where everything else fails. Go back
-
to the words. So you are having trouble, So things
-
are not working right, father, I don't understand. Hey, how
-
many of your students here? Any students don't be shy. You're
-
either student or you're not. Okay two two students, Let
-
me tell you. When you struggle in your work, lay
-
hands on your books and say, Father, in the name
-
of Jesus, helped me study. Because what subject is that?
-
The Lord did not invent every subject you will ever learn?
-
Who invented it? God? What are you studying? Business? You
-
know who was the one who thought business? God? You look,
-
he said, you know what, if you trust me, you
-
will never run out his business? Is you trust me?
-
You never run out? He told that we do you
-
just do what I tell you to do. Do? And
-
you know what the jazz kept feeling with oil? What
-
is that? That is income? Business? You're doing? I G
-
S R. Learning everything? Hey, God, book of numbers? You
-
know accountant? God healed, he's a doctor. He taught them
-
how to build it? Ample architect? Want to go on?
-
Can go on? By a one? You lay hands on.
-
That's what I used to do. I lay hands on
-
my book and I say, in the name of Jesus,
-
open up to me, give me understanding. In the name
-
of Jesus. I was the head prefect of my school
-
in Singapore, the first Malaysian to be a head prefect.
-
I think in the whole of Singapore until then, I
-
don't know whether now and the only Malaysian to have
-
let the Singapore in the Singapore Pledge. I said, but
-
I'm not Singaporean, and he said, no, no, no, you
-
do it better than anybody else. I can still recite
-
it until now. And until that time, my teachers are
-
very angry that I became the head prefect. So I asked,
-
so whender my teachers said, why are you upset with me?
-
She looked at me and says, you have the potential
-
to be top student. Don't you know that every head
-
prefect in this school has failed. I said, don't worry,
-
I will be the first past and past I did,
-
and after that, every head prefect after me started doing well.
-
Name of Jesus, even in my studies. In the Name
-
of Jesus. Two parts of being there are two parts
-
of being faithful to the word. The two parts, Okay,
-
we want to go through the two parts. Number one
-
is be hearers of the word. Be hearers of the word. Hey.
-
Don't ever tell someone you only listen. You're good for nothing.
-
You don't do Hey, It's all right. Let them listen
-
to the word first? Why? Because scripture says be here.
-
You know, you need to hear the word. You need
-
to hear the word. What happens when you hear the word,
-
you get bathe hearing. Faith comes by hearing of the word.
-
When it comes by hearing and hearing of the word.
-
So before we can be doers of the word, we
-
need to hear the word. You know a lot of
-
times when you do your quiet time and you read
-
the word, do not read it in your head alone?
-
Read it aloud? Why do you read it aloud? Because
-
faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of
-
God when you read. How many senses are you using
-
to bring the word into you? You are using sight,
-
you are using speech, you are using hearing. And how
-
many of you because the words are small, you put
-
your finger there? Touch what's the fifth sense? Smell? Okay,
-
some Bibles smell a lot, so you know better. You
-
get the smell of the Bible and the smell of food. Okay, guys,
-
I mean that's what I do. I would read the word.
-
And how many of you know that when I read
-
the words that Jesus has said, I always changed my tone.
-
I have always a little bit of fun when I
-
read the word. You know why, because when I got
-
saved long ago, the Lord spoke to me. I went
-
to a little church. The church was in the jungle,
-
or rather in a in a palmer le state. It
-
was a little church attended by poor people. And in
-
the midst of this church there were lots of cows,
-
so cow down everywhere. It wasn't a nice smell. Go
-
to that church wasn't a nice smell. It was, you know,
-
that smell permeated the place. But in that place where
-
poor people were worshiping God, they were worshiping God in
-
spirit and in truth. The worship here two hours. We
-
cannot stand worship plus message. That was the first time
-
I was attending a born against service. And the worship
-
alone was two hours, you know how long the message
-
was to ours And after that we had another worship
-
you know how long another two hours. So the first
-
born again service I ever attended was six hours. You know,
-
I didn't feel it when I went in there. During
-
the worship, it was like a gold pillar came down
-
on me and I could look through and I see
-
all of you as gold, but I can see you,
-
and it was I was inside this column, and then
-
the sound from the outside came low, and I heard
-
the voice of God, and it said, Terrence, you're not
-
a Christian except me. Now, without anybody knowing all, the
-
call is not given yet you know, I gave my
-
life to the Lord, and then this gold pillar went
-
back up. That was how I got safe. So ever
-
since then, I you know, when I read the word
-
of God, and when I ever come to the parts
-
of Jesus, I try and imitate the voice that I heard,
-
because it sounds so much better than my own voice.
-
It sounds so rich and so powerful. And when I
-
hear it, I get so excited. I'll give you an example. Okay,
-
Jesus answered and said, that's my voice. This voice did
-
not come because of me, but for your sake. Now
-
is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of
-
this world will be cast out, and if I am
-
lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.
-
I imagine power of God when I hear that voice,
-
and it excites me because to me, that's what my
-
my Jesus is. He's not some wimp, he's not a wimp.
-
He's somebody powerful. So the thing is is before before
-
we can be those of the world, we need to
-
hear the word first. Being faithful means going to the
-
world first and hearing what it says. Hey, guys, how
-
many of you, in the moment something goes wrong, you
-
run straight to somebody in there. Don't do that before
-
you run to anybody. I'm not saying, don't go to
-
your CPC. Go out to your CPC, run to your pastors.
-
Can after you've run to God. You must go to
-
God first. God uses pastors and and and and holy
-
people to help you. But if you don't give the
-
law order chance first, your eyes on the wrong place.
-
Guys always have this habit of speaking to God first.
-
You know. I always talk to the Lord. I go
-
to Buffays, you know, say Lord, what should I eat it?
-
So I am I'm walking past the Buffy line and
-
lots eat And then I said this one don't touch.
-
Then everybody else I know at the table will come
-
and see, Hey, you gotta try this. You know it's
-
so good, you gotta eat, you gonna eat? No, No,
-
it's okay, no, thank you. I refuse to eat next day.
-
I'm the only one that's okay. Every one of them sick.
-
Why all it that one? What's the difference? You see?
-
Because I have this habit to talk to God about
-
mundane things, he makes mundane things come alive. Is that fun?
-
That's sleeping such a yeah? You know. So now at
-
least my wife when we go to Buffy Lain what
-
I don't touch, she won't touch. She learned already the
-
spirit of the Lord will be speaking to you. I
-
remember once we went to we went to Bia. Okay
-
any Indonesians? Yeah, no, okay, because I'm not knocking anybody, okay.
-
So we went to say and so they say, oh, come, come,
-
let's go. Inside of my spirit was jumping up and down. Don't, don't, don't, don't.
-
I kept trying to dissuade them. I said, no, no, no,
-
let's not do that. We can just go to one
-
of these these No, no, no, I want to try Nassia.
-
We go to the Nassi Pad, spent it jumping up
-
and down. Okay, So we went because I went for
-
a wedding. Okay. So the wedding was in the night.
-
Went for a family. Wait, family member got married and
-
sorrow by us. So we went to night. So we
-
went there in the night. This is the afternoon lunchtime.
-
They all want to go and eat uh na saipar down.
-
So we went to the shop. What a guy come,
-
put this, put that, put this, put this, you like,
-
you like, and you're talking over the food. And then
-
he takes it, puts it away and puts the one
-
on the dirty table of black cloth he cleaned. And
-
he takes that plate, puts it in another plate and
-
goes puts it back inside there and bring some other plates.
-
Don't know how many times he's taking that plate out
-
and put it back. What did I eat? I did
-
not eat. I did not eat. No, no, you're not hungry. No, no,
-
I'm not hungry. It's okay, sorry, fine, I don't eat.
-
So I didn't need So in the evening we went
-
for the Receptenna dinner reception. I'm seated at the table,
-
one by one. Everybody's disappearing, all having explosions, all having
-
bad explosions. I am okay. So I am telling you.
-
Listen to what God has to tell you, all right,
-
And where does it come? The word says, talk to
-
the Lord, discuss with him, share with him, don't ever
-
tire of the word, don't ever tire of hearing it
-
or preaching it. Why because the more you talk about
-
the word, who is doing the hearing, you are doing
-
the hearing. Always remember this, A God's word is powerful.
-
In Hebrews four to twelve, it says this, for the
-
Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than
-
any to it sort piercing even to the division of
-
the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow. It
-
is the discerner of thoughts and intents of heart, of
-
the heart, guys, it is something that really speaks to you.
-
It discerns, you know, when you have the Word of
-
God in your heart. But Scripture says the word of
-
God is the discerner of spirit and truth. You know,
-
it discerns. How do you build discernment? You know what
-
is discernment. Discernment is that voice in the spirit that
-
speaks to you right from wrong, to do or not
-
to do. I went to China. In China, I went
-
to study to look into opening some schools in China.
-
All right, so I am meeting these Chinese businessmen for
-
the first time. Do I speak Mandrin? No? So I
-
went with a friend who speaks Mandrin. So I spoke
-
to the friend, and we went for this dinner. And
-
at this dinner, this guy is chit chatting, chit chatting, chatting.
-
But while they were talking, the Spirit of the Lord
-
was speaking in my heart. So I whispered to my friend.
-
I said, the guy who's talking got no authority to
-
do anything. You See the guy who's quiet on the left,
-
he is the decision maker. He's the one who is
-
listening to everything. See this other guy, he's trying to
-
figure out how he can cheat and take everything from us.
-
The Spirit of the Lord ministered that to me, and
-
after the conversation, he said, you're absolutely right. The guy
-
who was doing all the walk the talking was just
-
a worker. The guy who is quiet is the is
-
the son of the tycoon, and the other guy is
-
his right hand man. I said, I'm not touching this
-
deal with a ten football the Lord has. So the
-
words were nice, the business looked okay, But the Lord
-
had already told me don't touch these people. So how
-
often do we make mistakes like that because we don't
-
build up a capacity to hear. When you listen to
-
the word, the capacity of your discernment will improve, and
-
when the Holy Spirit speaks to you you can pick
-
out certain things. Then after that, So the first part
-
is be here and the second part is be doers
-
of the word. Guys, how many of you played pickleball?
-
Nobody here? One? Okay, Just by talking about pickleball, do
-
you get good at it? No? Just because you talk
-
pickleball you think you will improve. You have to get
-
on the court and practice play. I was the tennis
-
coach of my school because I had entered competitions and
-
stuff like that. Why I didn't get anywhere and tennis
-
because I'm shot. If you're told you can get somewhere live,
-
you're short forgetting. You pray just to enjoy. But I'll
-
tell you this, you don't get good by talking. So
-
all during the term when I'm playing and talking and
-
training my school team, my standard of tennis is going downhill.
-
So I look forward to coming back during the holidays,
-
getting in touch with my tennis playing friends, play with them,
-
get all my skills back. Then when I go back
-
to Singapore, the skills all day again. You see, we're
-
not just to hear something, we are also to do it.
-
This is what word faithful also looks like we're talking
-
about one of the course all right. What is the
-
call word? Faithful? God's word is a mirror that helps
-
us see what we need to see. It helps us
-
see our true selves. You want to know what you are?
-
Look at the Word, and the Word acts like a
-
mirror to Hey, look, it's all right being not good
-
as long as you are yourself before the Lord, because
-
you give me an opportunity to change you. Do you
-
think they all started out good? Look at Peter. Peter
-
did a lot of things. Yes, I had a lot
-
of miracles happen in his life. But he was so flawed,
-
right or not. He's just like you and me. We
-
are flawed, we're not perfect. But the Word of God
-
changed him. You know how You know that the Holy
-
Spirit changed him. You look at scripture and you find
-
that throughout the Gospel they had none of the disciples
-
spoke the word of God. Check and see did any
-
one of them voice out anything from the Word of
-
God the moment they were baptized by the Holy Spirit.
-
You read in the book or X the words of God,
-
the Word the Scripture were just flowing out of the mouse. Hey,
-
the Lord just spoke to me something. I think I
-
got to write a song about it. Okay. So, as
-
I was preparing for the men, he said, isn't it stranger?
-
He's always telling his children to remember, remember, remember, But
-
you know what he tells himself forget. He tells himself
-
to forget our sins. He tells us to remember what
-
he's done for us, because, trust me, if God remembers
-
our sins, we're in trouble. Every time we ask him
-
to forgive us. You know what he does. He removes
-
the sin. As far as the east is from the west.
-
He forgets our sins. That's what scripture tells us. So
-
isn't it very odd? God tells us to remember why
-
he tells himself to forget? Worthy of a song? Right?
-
I wrote another song. It's called I Am whom I am,
-
says I am God. I am whom I am, says
-
I am. You'll understand it with the second life. I
-
will be who I am, says I will be. So
-
it's a funny song. Hopefully get published. So be In
-
James one two twenty five, it says, but be doers
-
of the word and not hear us, only deceiving yourselves. Right,
-
be those of the word not hear us or need
-
deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hero of the
-
word and not a doer, he is like a man
-
observing his natural face in the mirror. So you're hearing, hearing,
-
and hearing. Faith comes by hearing. But eventually it's got
-
a work too doing, because if it if it just
-
remains as hearing, then you're like forgetting your face. Because
-
the word of God is a mirror by which you
-
see what you are and how you need to be.
-
For he observes themselves goes away and immediately forgets what
-
kind of man he was. You see, we are doing
-
what only God should be doing. If there's anyone who
-
should do the forgetting, it's God. We are the ones
-
to do the remembering. But he who looks into a
-
perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and it's
-
not forget, not a forgetful here, but a duel of
-
the work, this is the one who will be blessed
-
by what he does. So we know them, We know
-
they are faithful when we see them doing. How do
-
you know faithfulness? Pastor cannon and past the center of
-
course bringing greetings? Do you know that I've and I've
-
told past the days I've had an a chance to
-
observe you quietly while you're not knowing that I've been
-
observing you, and I say, you know what I found out?
-
I found out then you are the same person. What
-
I see when you're with me is the same person
-
I see when you're alone. There is no two past
-
the cannons. There's only one man, and he's the same.
-
So it's not difficult to understand because who is he
-
following Jesus? And and and what did what? What does
-
Jesus say? I'm the same yesterday, today and forever last,
-
But not Lisa. The word anchors us in a changing world.
-
This world is crazy. The world has determined that the
-
Word of God is a hateful speech? Are you aware
-
of that? The King of England last week was declared
-
to be the leader of all faith in England. What
-
a slap on the face of the Church of England.
-
Because until that point of time he was the leader
-
of the Church of England. So he has put Christianity
-
on the same level as everybody else. Is it no
-
wonder that England is a country that's going down, down
-
and down. It's a failing country. In case you don't know,
-
he's failing miserably reject Jesus. Of course you're going to fail.
-
Did you know that if you were to speak, Oh no,
-
if you're even quiet, they take you to jail for
-
praying to Jesus. Why hate speech in your head? England?
-
You know? Did you know that they've actually they've taken
-
someone to Coote for praying silently in his head. It's
-
now gone for it's now at a case of appeal.
-
He was already found guilty. Can you beat that that?
-
If I were to say Jesus loves you, they can
-
send me to jail. Did you know that? You know why?
-
Because it's considered hate speech. Then you get some joker
-
who's says this. Huh. I'm gonna sue anybody who calls
-
me a he or him when I want to be
-
called they them. So I'm thinking myself, why are Christians
-
so silent about it? Why don't we sue him for
-
making me called him? Day and them so before they
-
sw I sue him simply because why should I be
-
forced to speak incorrect English? H This is nothing to
-
do with what you are, what you're You're forcing me
-
to speak incorrect English. You're a guy. You want me
-
to call you a herb. Sorry, not going to be
-
that way. Does God love them? Absolutely? Let me tell you.
-
Take for example, the people in Thailand, the ones who
-
are you know, transgender. You mean to say God doesn't
-
love them? Do you know what kind of life did
-
they live? It's not easy, and I can sense God's
-
compassion for them. He loves them, but you see, they
-
don't know a better way. Thank God. The Church of
-
God is rising to speak to them. But don't for
-
a minute thing God hates them. You know, God loves them,
-
He loves them, but that's it. You see, the world changes.
-
Twenty years ago, you'll never hear of that, but now
-
it is commonplace, all right, God's word. They're always complaining
-
about God's word. Oh it's too old, it's not relevant,
-
it's outdated. It's too fat, it's too ugly, it's too skinny.
-
This is what people complain about God's word. The world
-
is constantly changing and attacking the word. First look at LGBT.
-
Do you know who they are attacking. They're attacking God's word.
-
I've just been watching some testimonies of children who were
-
their sex was changed when they were ten years old.
-
You know what they're doing. In the schools, they are
-
constantly telling the children, oh, you should be a woman,
-
Oh you should be a woman. And then they what
-
they do is they take the child away. They talk
-
and if the parents speak up, you know what they do,
-
they take the child away from the parent. You mean
-
to say, this is not happening in the world. Open
-
your eyes. This is what's the law. In some countries,
-
they take the child away, and for the woman they
-
remove the woman's parts. When the child becomes sixteen, seventeen
-
years old. You know what the child says, I regret
-
doing this. How could they do this to me? I
-
was only a child too late. The world is changing.
-
This so even how they address God's word, it changes.
-
But you got to know that the word of God
-
does not change for you or for me. It is
-
the same. It's shifting sends, but God's word is not
-
shifting send. The world can have many opinions. We are
-
only interested in whose opinion God's opinion. His opinion is
-
the one that matters. You want to be saying, keep
-
to God's word. Don't be like the world. The world
-
has lost its way. And in case you don't know,
-
this is truly scripture coming to pass, prophecies coming to pass.
-
How the world is today professing themselves to be wise,
-
They are fools. They have given up the glory of
-
God for what to worship themselves. In the last days,
-
there will be many smart people, but God is not fooled.
-
Let's not be one of those smart people who think
-
we are higher than God. In one Corinthians one twenty five,
-
it says this because the foolishness of God is wiser
-
than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. Hey,
-
who are we to ever say God does not know
-
what he is doing? Because even at God's most foolish,
-
if that were possible, he is still far, far, far
-
better than most intelligent human being. In other words, God
-
is number one, and we are I don't know were
-
we just we're there, and we are to look to
-
number one for all the answers. God's word is the
-
only one that will stand. That's what scripture means. Heaven
-
and earth will pass away, but my word will not,
-
because the word of God is everything he is and
-
everything he needs to be. And that's it. God is
-
not like us shifting sand. He's firm. How would you
-
like it? How would you like I want to go
-
to kl CC and klccs every time changing its place.
-
Your ways also no work. He's here today, tomorrow it's
-
somewhere else. But you're so happy that he elsey is.
-
His day is fixed. You follow ways, you will go there?
-
Why not? How many of you likes a shifting goal posts?
-
If the goal post will to shiver, all of you
-
will give up watching football. When the guy's about to
-
score here, the two fellows come, they take, they run
-
and put the goal somewhere else. How to play like that?
-
There must be some rules right or on. You don't
-
want things that shift, You want things that are firmed.
-
That's what the word of God is. God will keep
-
to his word. And God's word is always what his
-
promises are, yes and amen. He will never forsake his word.
-
So that's good because then when you study God's word
-
and what is he telling you, He's not going to
-
forget it. Let's be as faithful to doing the word
-
as we are, also to be faithful hearing it as well,
-
Lord said A Lord said, be a hearer, be a doer. Okay,
-
and just know God loves you. He's so wonderful. They
-
have God who's so firm, so firm in our life
-
that we don't have to worry about anything. And with that,
-
that's my message for today, word faithful. If we want
-
to see our lives change for His glory, let's recognize
-
the faithfulness of trusting and following his word and we
-
see our lives changer. Know what Scripture says, from glory
-
to glory. He's not glory to mess. It's not glory
-
to mess. As long as we are following the word,
-
it's from glory to glory. So it doesn't matter what
-
level of life you're in. If you are in the pits,
-
guess what one day you'll be in the mountain. If
-
you are on the mountain, guess what one day you'll
-
be in the sky. One day in the sky, guess
-
what one day you'll be exploring out of space. Glory
-
too glory.
