will light up your team. Today. We're gonna read from New chapter four

and I'm gonna read from verse eighteen to nineteen. Okay, And this is

Jesus if I'm normally second, This is right after he came out of the

wilderness. He spent forty days and nights in the wilderness, and he just

came out. And the first thing he did was he went to church.

He went to the synagogue, and you know he did he opened the Bible,

he opened the Torah, and he went to Isaiah. And it reads,

the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me

to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the

broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to

the blind, to set at liberty those who are pressed. So Jesus he

came. And we know, well, hopefully all of us here know that

Jesus came, and he fulfilled a lot of the prophecies that happened in the

Old Testament. He fulfilled. He was a lamb let to slaughter. All

these words are very significant, right he fulfilled what he fulfilled, whatever the

prophets say, for a reason, so that we can receive redemption. Right.

And he came to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Certain translations

to say, he came to proclaim the favor of the Lord. Right,

the favor of the Lord. Let's go to Isaiah chapter sixty one. Okay,

this is where the scripture came from. Isaiah chapter sixty one. Let

me try and look for it. Having a bit of a challenge in my

everlasting covenant. Their descendants shall be known among the gentiles, and their offspring

among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them that they are the

posterity whom the Lord has blessed. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord.

My shoul, My soul shall be joyful in my God. For he has

clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the rope

of righteousness. Does this sound familiar? He has clothed me with the garment

of salvation? Who did that for you? Who did that for you?

Who of you with the government of salvation? Who covered you with the rope

of righteousness? Are you righteous here? Church? Are you writers here this

morning? How many of you dare say I am righteous? I've not done

anything wrong. I've never lied, I've never cheated. I'm perfect. Jesus

came and clothe you. Amen, as the bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,

and as a bride adorns herself with jewels. For as the earth brings forth,

it's but as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to

spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth

before all nations. This is God's promise. Why is the rest of the

scripture significant for us? Because it is what happens after before what happens before.

Jesus declared when he read the scripture that he's the spirit of the Lord

is upon him. Because us, the spirit of the Lord has anointed him

to do everything and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Christ fulfill

everything that he needed to do. Praise God. He fulfilled everything. Because

he fulfilled everything, we have the confidence here to preach the word of God

knowing that everything has been done. Do you know that you don't have to

work for your salvation? That's why we say salvation is a gift that you

can receive. Right, But there's a catch. Do you know that everything

has a catch that there's no free lance that guys. Sorry, yeah,

I know people say salvation it's free. Actually it's not free. You know,

you're paid for. But as a catch, let me share you the

being a way to solve some of these issues? Wouldn't love solft depression?

It's not mental thing, you know, it's an emotional thing, right,

So Christ came to do that. He came to free us from living a

pointless life with no vision. That's why he came to do recovery of sight

to the blind. Do you know that someone who has no purpose in life

is very depressing one? You know, a person that has no direction in

But do you know have you seen people who are driven? Oh? My

goodness, it's so exciting to be around them. They got dreams, they

got desires. They want to do this, they want to do that.

You know you talk to them most you're excited. You saw. I want

to join you. People who are driven, people who are purpose, who

can give us purpose? Christ can give us purpose. Christ can give you

a unique purpose. And He came to grant us God's favor. Let me

talk a little bit about f Why is God's favor important? I have ever

thought about it before. There is something I learned when I was really young,

favor of the Lord. What do you mean by that? Such a such

an abstract concept, favor of the Lord. Well, let me give you

can give them the insight to grow to overcome this challenge that they face.

you're trying to mask something else. Guilty pleasures and other coping mechanism,

strass city eat law, strassity shop law. These are all human coping mechanisms.

Please don't feel feel offended on when I say this. These are all

seen related it and sin was introduced by the devil because he is here to

still kill and destroy, as say in John ten ten. So if we

rely on our own strength as humans. We are ultimately going to do things

like this. How many of you are naturally human? La feel like you

want to come for prayers? Every one? Don't lift up your hands when

you're having problems. You automatically, Oh, I think I need to pray

more. None of us no meal? So I am it? When I

human coping mechanisms. Right, when we rely on ourselves. Let's talk a

Going against God? That is sin? Wow. So when we try and

cope with our problems and we revert to all these things, we are sinning

because God never wants you to hurt yourself. God never wants you to rely

on something else. God never wants you to do all these other things because

he has a better way, Because the path of sin will eventually lead to

destruction. And whose influence are we following? Again, I'm not saying that

you want to He's not about one or not one. It's about if we

follow this path, eventually it will end up here. That is my caution

for you. Don't follow that path anymore. Find another way, find Jesus

way, because he came to give freedom. That's why we got to cry,

guys that Jesus is king. He came and he overcame sin the significance

of Christ in our lives so that we can be righteous. We can be

righteous through him through following his ways and submitting to his will as our king.

This is why understanding that Jesus king is important, because king has lost

no that we have to follow. But I know sometimes we our approach to

Christ. What do we seem as Jesus is my friend? How do you

treat your friend? You know something got to think about things like Jesus your

father. How do you treat your father? How does your father treat you?

Understanding Christ as your dad now gives you a good perspective of how much

he cares for you. Understanding Christ as your friend tells you that Jesus aren't

going to force you on. No, he's not gonna be a parent.

He's going to give you time. He's gonna reveal things. You know,

he said once my service, now, my friends, why because he wants

to partner. He wants to reveal things to you. Understanding Christ as King

gives us the confidence to have authorrity to what Christ has in this world.

You'll catch that. Not you'll catch that not. I hope all you catch

that. No one can be made righteous with his own work, but only

true Christ Jesus. You can try, but you're gonna fail. Let's see

God's way of coping. No, I talk about men'stay of coping. Now,

let's talk about God's way of coping. Okay, because we gotta learn.

We gotta learn that He's all from God's wader. Problems three five six

Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all

of coping. Don't you see the interesting thing? Our way of copying is

relying on ourselves. God's way of coping is rely on him. God Swe

of coping is Please, don't take responsibility over your problem. I will take

care of it. Okay, you don't believe. Let me go to another

scripture Matthew eleven, twenty eighth thirty. What does he say? Okay?

Matthew eleven, twenty eighth thirty, Come to me, all you who labor

and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke

now? Do you know how sad is it because a lot of the broken

marriages called kids know what kind of love? Are we looking for? God's

way or men's way? We've got to decide today, guys, do you

know that where we were young, things were simpler? No, I'm thinking

about reflecting about life? Are reflecting about you know? When I grew up?

When can I can? I can I let you know something? Yes,

it is more complicated things. I'm so sorry it is more complicated.

Last time life was easy. Last time we've got no headphones on. When

you're on the phone, called the person, say you're going to be there

at three o'clock. You will be there at three o'clock. Because if you're

not there three o'clock, your friends got away for you for two hours and

you're gonna feel bad the next day. So you have to be a person

of your word. Now on the way, where are you still sleeping?

So, yes, it is more complicated now life it's more complated. The

Internet has make things even more complicated. So much information out there. Imagine

information that is given to people who cannot manage information or habbists. They think

they know, but actually they don't really know. So yes, it is

more complicated. You know a lot more things, don't know where to go

a back. Parents also where stressful. You have to shood your kids and

you know that it's going to come one way another way. Yes, it's

more complicated. I remember the times when I was a young person. My

life was simpler, but it was very complicated. Also, I wanted things

that were simple. I want a living family. I wanted peace in my

family. I wanted not to have to worry about money all the time now,

but unfortunately I had strife in the family. Money was always an issue.

My family was loving, but it's very complicated. But Prescott, I

discovered who Jesus is and the things he taught us. And because I had

a complicated family that didn't make sense, Church made sense. Coming to the

church makes sense, Prescott, so I stayed close to church and God's people

when things didn't make sense. Jesus made sense because his message never changes.

My family message always changed, change change, change, change the world.

Message always changed one minute, this one is that. But do you know

that Jesus message never changed. He's old school, lah, his message never

change. No, he's still preaching God loves you. We're still preaching that

I remember firmently reading God's word, getting involved in things that would build

my spirit, prayer, worship, and study of God's word. The fellowship

and the friends were a bonus. Of course. The sad thing is that

a lot of friends might have lost their way as they grew up. Do

you know their life is actually very simple, but we like to complicate it

as men? Do you know that Jesus kept things very simple, but people

keep trying to complicate things super complicated. Men like to complicate things. Every

time there's something I'm gona get that, I always think about it or this

is every guy men? Men do wanna because Jesus way is very simple,

I'm going to keep it simple and I don't have a lot of time.

Friends, allow Jesus to be a king this morning. Allow him to be

a king. Clay him as your king, and surrender to him. Surrender.

Maybe we cannot claim Jesus, says our king, because there are other

kings or strongholds in our lives which we have not torn down yet. Do

you know it's very difficult when there's a country with two kings, civil war

will happen. The country is not going to, you know, be blessed.

They always fight on maybe for some of us here we are the king.

That's why it's hard for Jesus to be king because I am king.

I mean, you might not proclaim that it's okay you don't have to wear

a crown. You know that the Bible says that we do not fight against

fresh and blood. If Visions six Child says for we are not fighting against

flesh and blood enemies. So even when I'm sharing some of these things,

I know it might be hard to Yeah, but there's no condemnation in Christ.

It is not you. It is the influence and the thought processes that

we have. We are not fighting against flesh and blood. But we're fighting

against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against powers in this dark

world, and against evil spirit in the heavenly places. You know that when

we recognize that the battle we face could possibly be spiritual battles, it also

helps us to make better strategic decisions in our work of faith. A very

simple example I can give you if if you like horror movies all the time

and you cannot step stop watching horror movies. Oh you know it's no,

it's spiritual, guys. Rubbish in, rubbish out, rubbish in, rubbish

out. What have you been feeling your mind with the world of God or

other things? We've got to decide today who we want to follow, which

king we want to follow. You cannot be uncertain. You need to be

sure. That's why I had to proclaim that Jesus is king. Second Contingents

I hear that a lot nowadays. I don't agree. You don't agree

what God's word? You were careful? No, guys, sometimes it's not

just about agreement, it's about alignment. If you hold on so strongly to

your beliefs, are I want to challenge you? Where is your beliefs from?

Is it the word of God? It is word of God. Please

hold strongly. But we were careful. When you're in God's house and you

start speaking words like that, please use Scot's word to be the mirror.

Don't use what you hear someone from outside say, don't use what you hear

someone that you like. No, don't use that. Use God's word whatever

you hear, even what I'm sharing now, please use Goodt's word. Use

Scot's word. Don't just pass away and say no. Please don't do that.

I'm a mere human being. I might say something's wrong here as though

I hope not okay, But use God's word. How do we allow Jesus

to be king in our lives? Well, we've got to break down the

strong horse. What a strong hold things that edify itself against God? Absolute

in our lives which goes against God's kingdom. Do you know that that you

can have that? Do you know that he can absolutely? Do you know

that men? We can have vows that we make. Oh, I will

only do this, and I will never do this nowadays, I don't.

I try not to live like that anymore already because a lot of things I've

say in the past that I will never do, I'm doing now. So

we're careful. Now. I won't dare do that. Unless it's God's word,

then I will never. If it's God's word that I will never.

But it's my own thoughts. I won't be so quick to make strong statements.

We've got to break down those strong holes. And there are three things

that we need to do. Can I encourage us? First, surrender to

him as king. You gotta surrender. Why surrender? Surrender? Okay a

lort? You take over because because it's very difficult to and you think no,

no, you surrender and you allow God to move. Is it a

decision that you'll make today? Secondly, submit, guys, Submission is a

Friends, Jesus is King and Heaven rules. You've got to hear the truth

from the world of God. We've got to receive it. Be very,

very careful or opinions, be very careful. In this world has so much

opinions, so much, so much things that entice us, false arguments.

Fight for what you know. There's a scripture and let me share this Romans

fourteen cent. Do you know that in the early Church you also had challenges

like this? Romans fourteen seventeen says, And when I read this, I

cannot image. I cannot believe that they had they had to produce here,

the Kingdom of God is not eating or drinking. Huh. Let me repeat

that, the Kingdom of God is not eating or drinking, but righteousness and

that we can fight about things are in the house of God? Are that

Christ in our lives. Those are the things that matter. But then we

as a leadership. We submit to him. We submit to Christ. Jesus.

Then God, do you know that we submit? Lord? You lead

us? And sometimes the Lord will lead you to do things that you're like.

we have a choice today if we want to surrender to him. It's up

my life there is a stronghold that I need to submit to you? Is

to really say, Lord, I want to be perfect. I want to

be perfect, not perfection as humans says, but I want to be perfect

for the Lord. So clear it. What are the areas that I need

to deal with? Is it submission too? Is it submission to my parents?

Is it honoring my parents? Because when we live a life of favor

from the Lord, we will experience greater things. Amen. We hope you've
