  1. XVJ.

  2. Yeah.

  3. Right, So my job here is Inviteth Jonathan to talk.

  4. No no, no, okay, so yes, just as you have none today,

  5. we have team talk. I just learned about this just

  6. a few an hour ago, I think, But I thought

  7. it's also quite good, right, because we're here to talk

  8. about the theme, right, and what's the theme that we

  9. have for X church? And also XVJKM somebody shout it

  10. out all my time that all right, so good okay,

  11. and so maybe I'll just opened him for because I'm

  12. a little bit nervous, and then I'll invite some of

  13. my panelises. Okay, come, let's pray. Let's start. Thank you

  14. a lot. We just want to thank you for this

  15. beautiful morning and this afternoon, and we thank you for

  16. each and every one of us here. We thank you

  17. for bringing us safely here. And then we had such

  18. a good breakout session earlier and not I prayer and

  19. I know a lot that there's so much that we

  20. have to unpack, so much that you already have spoken

  21. to us. But even as we continue focusing on you,

  22. I pray Lord that you will speak, speak through the

  23. lives of your people, speak through the works of your hands.

  24. And so just commit this talk into your hands. You

  25. feel this interurced? Amen? All right, and so just let

  26. me sit down for a bit. I've never done a

  27. talk show before, but yes, okay, let me just introduce sir.

  28. So we've been talking about the theme right that all

  29. may know, and so we always talk about the how

  30. how do we do it?

  31. Right?

  32. But I think there is one very important resource in

  33. our lives that we barely use. As a Christian, I

  34. don't know. I'm speaking for myself, and that is our

  35. own salvation story, Okay, our own salvation story. And sometimes

  36. you have You probably would know someone for many many

  37. years we have been Christian. You've you've been such a

  38. good friends with them, They've been such important people in

  39. your life, but you may not actually know yah salvation story. Right.

  40. Just look to your neighbor left and you're right right,

  41. Ask yourself, do you know their salvation story? Actually?

  42. Right?

  43. And I think that's such a shame, because right, that's

  44. all that God, your salvation story is all that is

  45. enough for you to share about the costs. God is

  46. so good, Amen, And so I pray that even as

  47. you are inspired, even as you listen to some of

  48. the salvation stories that we have that you will also take. Hello, Yes,

  49. you also take the initiative that this camp, I will

  50. know the salvation story of someone that is close to

  51. me or someone that you've never met in this camp

  52. and you can also continue this on and to share

  53. this as part of your life. Okay, So, without further ado,

  54. let me invite four panelists. Right, they come in pair.

  55. So everybody has a salvation story, all right, Yes, so

  56. even as the chairs go up, everybody has a salvation story.

  57. But here we're just going to highlight or rather two

  58. pairs of salvation stories. And we have a privilege that

  59. we have both perspectives of someone sharing the gospel and

  60. someone or at least showing God's love to one another,

  61. and also someone accepting Christ. And we have that in PJ.

  62. We have many many more and I think there's a

  63. very good perspective that we can highlight. And so it's

  64. not that their salvation story is any better than anyone else, right,

  65. because each of these is the work of God's hand,

  66. and so we just want to highlight it to really

  67. really encourage one another about these stories. Okay, And so

  68. can I invite my two pairs of panelists to come

  69. and have a seat. Here. We have Yvonne and Eugene. Okay,

  70. I will let them introduce themselves in a bit. They

  71. will be on my right, and I'll invite Michelle and

  72. Lee hy oh yeah, okay. Co all right, Okay, I

  73. hope you probably have met them, some of you know

  74. them very very well. But I will let them introduce

  75. themselves for the benefit of those who may not write. Okay,

  76. And so let's start with that a little bit of introduction.

  77. You can tell us your name, where you come from,

  78. what you do. Maybe you so a little bit about

  79. your background, right, so that we have we set the

  80. stage for the Salvation story. Okay, So maybe we will

  81. start with Michelle.

  82. Yeah, afternoon everyone. If you didn't know, also Michelle, share

  83. a bone about myself. Yeah, So apart from my name,

  84. I'm actually a licensed and registered counselor in Malaysia. And

  85. I also currently I'm working with Lynette. Yeah. So if

  86. you haven't followlyn Nettes, going to follow now? Yeah, choose

  87. life okay. And then another thing is I also tutor

  88. psychology in university, so I actually work for Monash. Yeah,

  89. and I also am currently going to teach master students

  90. in counseling. Also for yeah this batch. Yeah, so what else?

  91. Thank you so much? Rights also ready really really puns.

  92. That's where died, right, Yeah, so maybe I'll move on

  93. to the next. Introduce yourself.

  94. Okay, Hi, I'm Lee Qui. So I'm a researcher in

  95. a small tech agent.

  96. See, and.

  97. I'm a first gen Christian.

  98. And yeah, okay, so how you met before? Right?

  99. She she just mentioned something called a first gen Christian.

  100. How many of you are unfamiliar in this term? A

  101. first generation Christian is someone who first uh they're the

  102. first in their family to actually accept Christ or the

  103. first in that generation. And so the and Michelle is

  104. a second jen Christian. All right, yeah, okay, so let

  105. me just introduce a little bit about them. Right, So

  106. they are friends for long term. Can you tell us

  107. a little bit more of how do you know each other?

  108. There?

  109. Maybe some special insights.

  110. This was a long term friends.

  111. So Lee and I go way back. So we actually

  112. met in for one So we're actually high school friends.

  113. We were in the same car us. Yeah, and she's

  114. always been that very very cute, that very cute friends

  115. very yeah. Yeah, Everyden's very very cute, very caring friend

  116. I've been having. And yeah, she's a great friend overall altogether.

  117. What else you guys share? Mm hmm maybe she has.

  118. Mm hmmm.

  119. Yes, as she just mentioned, we met way back thirteen

  120. when we were thirteen years old, many many years already,

  121. and she has she has been that very gentle, very kind,

  122. very wise friend and even as she grew to where

  123. we are right now, like she's even more wiser than

  124. she was used to be.

  125. Yeah, and.

  126. Yeah right, oh yeah, the thin is also all ut,

  127. I got despise for you, right and you will go

  128. insm right and so afraid all up right, and it's

  129. so good here.

  130. Going to going together. Okay, then we have one design?

  131. Did to produce yourself?

  132. I want my name?

  133. Yeah?

  134. Yeah, My my surname is Tom So I'm actually I

  135. got a surname.

  136. Yeah.

  137. I actually come from Sabah so uh and so actually

  138. came to ex Church around twenty ninety uh because of work.

  139. Yeah so and okay, so what do I do?

  140. So actually I'm I'm actually doing had Track awards. Yeah,

  141. so it's my my My job is to deal with people.

  142. Yeah all right, and.

  143. First Christian? Correct, Yes, I'm a Christians, very good all right, yes,

  144. let's go on and we have Eugene.

  145. Hi everyone.

  146. Yes, I can tell I Firstian Christians as well, and

  147. I always do is I write simple melody, simple simple tune.

  148. I make a living of it throughout my whole life.

  149. So I started music a long time ago, so so

  150. I I guess I started going to church often is

  151. when I was in KL. So I came to KL

  152. for study for my degree study. I study composition and arranging.

  153. So yeah, uh not started like pretty long ago from

  154. where my sister went thirty nineteen, so I'm around there,

  155. so yeah along the way and uh yeah until now

  156. I'm work in the game industry as an audio editor.

  157. So yeah, that's about it.

  158. Thank you so much. Eugene and Yvonne, so a very

  159. cheaty question. How do you know each other? Yeah, silks,

  160. just in case you didn't know. So Yvonne and Eugene

  161. I siblings in case you didn't know.

  162. And so yeah, so so my mom.

  163. Introduced me to him now when I was yes.

  164. Oh yeah, very good. Okay, so you know you know

  165. the age gap. You want to know evanceage. You can

  166. do something if you ask, Eugene. But yes, so siblings, right,

  167. So they are siblings. I think they have a very

  168. very If you have siblings, you know your sibling dynamic

  169. is very very unique, very very very unique. And so

  170. we have a salvation story coming up from this sibling thing,

  171. and so we will kind of look into that in

  172. a little bit. Thank you so much. I have have

  173. a pleasure of knowing them in my homes.

  174. Right.

  175. And Eugene also he says, simple music, right, simple music

  176. don't come out in MPO and Okay, so if you

  177. want to know more, you can ask him, right, I

  178. believe he has some social Oh yeah, I wanted to say, yeah, anyway,

  179. thank you so much. But let's get into it. Okay,

  180. So now you know our people, and so we have

  181. two sets of salvation stories that we want to delve into,

  182. and I hope you really get a little bit. And

  183. so we will focus first on the story of Equa

  184. and Michelle. Okay, and so just for a little bit

  185. of context, right, Uh, they were long term friends as

  186. mentioned earlier and leeway except the christ uh true certain

  187. efforts as well of Michelle in many different ones.

  188. Right.

  189. And so now you can actually delve into a little

  190. bit of both both sides of the perspective and so

  191. uh Lee, way, let's start from the very beginning, right,

  192. how was your how was your family like when you

  193. were young? Do you think about Christianity at all before

  194. you accept the Christ young?

  195. So a little bit of background. So in my family,

  196. they are actually free thinkers. So before I know Christ,

  197. as I recover when I was really young, I just

  198. know that christian is just a religion and to me,

  199. like they are just English speaking people because I come

  200. from a Mandarin speaking family. So uh yeah, that's all

  201. I know. And I would say like before Christ actually,

  202. now I look back, there are different people who introduced

  203. Christ to me. And funny enough, actually my parents is

  204. the one that who send me and my siblings to

  205. Sunday School with the intention I was learning English, Okay,

  206. So that's that was how I learned about Christ. I

  207. learned about church. I know that there's Sunday School. They

  208. read about Bible versus that I don't understand.

  209. And that was that.

  210. Then it stopped for a very short while we were

  211. attended Sunday school. And after that we just told our

  212. mom like we don't understand anything, like we don't go anymore.

  213. So it just ended that and that was about it.

  214. Yeah, how long do you actually go for Sunday school?

  215. Oh yeah, probably like six seven, eight years old?

  216. Like really young.

  217. Yeah, okay, English speaking people, and I identify with that.

  218. It's a funny story. When I was younger, my teacher

  219. asked me what race was I and I say, I'm

  220. English because I don't be Chinese, so I can't be Chinese.

  221. But anyway, so baby, I don't know, but I know

  222. I'm trying to learn my mendin I can. I can

  223. laugh for five minutes, but yes, okay, but anyway, thank

  224. you so much for that. Right, and so you only

  225. met Michelle in secondary tool right at thirteen years old?

  226. Right?

  227. And so how was your secondary school like then? Yeah?

  228. And then so after that, then I went to secondary school,

  229. I met Michelle, but and then I came to know

  230. there's like CF clubs where I think not just Michelle,

  231. but also other people who my other Christian friends who

  232. invited me to SAF clubs. But that time, I find

  233. those people a bit too passionate because they're just overly friendly,

  234. which is make me a bit awkward, Like, yeah, they

  235. just came across too passionate and a bit.

  236. A bit off. Yeah too, passionate, a bit off, I think,

  237. very interesting. How many of you are introverts they can

  238. identify research things. Uh over, Oh it's so overwhelming, I

  239. think almost what do you think? What do you think?

  240. Was a bit off? Okay?

  241. So okay, but they're still nice, friendly people. But it's

  242. just a bit too overwhelming for someone quiet or a

  243. bit shy. So but to me, it was just like, yeah,

  244. there are just a group of a bunch of nice people.

  245. And that's how I remember, like what CF clubs in

  246. in high school and all right.

  247. Right, and so how did Michelle come into the picture?

  248. Okay, so Michelle came in a picture when I think

  249. I was in my film six like pre You, before

  250. going to UNI, and that time I think she started

  251. going to act, and then there was homes and she

  252. she just casually asked like if I'm interested to come

  253. to homes and I was like, oh okay, and then

  254. she's roughly explaining what home is. I noticed that you

  255. know these things are they eat food, they talk to

  256. each other, they pray, then go back. Yeah, And then

  257. that's how I remember homes. I came to I went

  258. to homes with Michelle and also Marcus, so that time,

  259. like actually, like Marcus was the one who's driving, as

  260. I remember, like we have to break through the Subang

  261. traffic on a Friday night to some homes in Subang,

  262. and then yeah, then I can't. That time I came

  263. to know a bit more like sometimes I'll ask questions

  264. like the verses that I read in the Bible and

  265. then But one thing was a bit more pivotal that

  266. time was because there's always a prayer session, and they

  267. always asked like, oh, is there anything I can pray

  268. for you?

  269. And I just let them know.

  270. And I'm always very moved by prayers.

  271. Yeah right, thank you so much for it. So you

  272. talked about when you were a child, right, it was

  273. just touch and go. I did so, but in maybe

  274. in secondary school, then you start to see all these

  275. questions what pray, eat, go, sing songs and go home? Uh,

  276. And you have some sort of an idea. So now

  277. not Christient, it's a little less foreign, uh. And you

  278. are you. They are very nice people, sometimes over zealous,

  279. over overwhelming maybe for an introvert person. I think different

  280. people will connect differently to different people. But somehow Michelle

  281. kind of too that, right, And so let's pause a

  282. little bit, all right, and let's take a look. What

  283. what was Michelle's perspective even as you met any first

  284. impressions or auh, yeah.

  285. First impressional. He good, good impression. I guess like she

  286. always was that person. Like remember in for one and

  287. from two, a lot of things happened at home and

  288. I lost my grandma that year, and I still have

  289. the note that she actually wrote for me and dore

  290. On for me that I'm still keeping it. Remember that.

  291. But yeah, she actually wrote on a jew do something

  292. for me, and they actually encouraged me during that part

  293. of time. And yeah, like that really left a lasting

  294. in Bangla on our friends. She also despite us changing classes,

  295. me being a librarian and she being a prefect, so

  296. very different.

  297. Yeah.

  298. So now we still maintained the friendship over the years

  299. as we went via at the end of the day.

  300. But you finally invited her to seef sorry homes? Is

  301. it in formsic? Something along? Okay, So what made you

  302. finally decide to invite her in homes or something like that?

  303. I need different thoughts or process or what do you

  304. think I think?

  305. Like course, she's my friend for very long already. And

  306. there was also when I actually joined ex church. That

  307. was back in twenty two, so very long already. So

  308. I still remember when I was in cfly I actually

  309. grew a lot more in my faith as a Christian.

  310. So I remember there's this memeiverse that somehow they give

  311. us out on Fridays before we go for CF. And

  312. the verse that actually got was John fifteen five that

  313. talks about I'm the vine, you're the bunches if a

  314. man believes in me, and I n t you're very

  315. much food if without me can do nothing. And that

  316. actually was the memory verse that I memorized, and it

  317. really starts with me for the longest time since the

  318. teen years ola and one of the CFS that I attended,

  319. I remember my CF teacher actually sharing the word Christian.

  320. So she said, oh Christian, you can break down the

  321. word Christ and I and I'm not sure where any

  322. of you heard of it before, but if you remove

  323. Christ from the word Christian is left with Ian. So

  324. no Ian s yeah, but anyways, we are all Actually

  325. I am nothing, so I ate and sands for I

  326. am nothing without Christ. So that actually reminded me that

  327. even to my friends efforts, my seniors, efforts of even

  328. inviting they hate to like CF and stuff. There was

  329. that passion that they had af for Christ and also

  330. how they rely on Okay, just invite and see how

  331. long I think. When we're younger, we don't really think

  332. so much. When we got older, right, we learn a

  333. lot more and then we start thinking a lot more

  334. about like what what will leave we think about me,

  335. which I admit I did think about that that time,

  336. like which you want to think of me? Like, well

  337. this ask me to go for homes, don't make me

  338. the Christian?

  339. Is it?

  340. You know? I would have these kind of top processes

  341. are and basically I'm also reminded a lot like even

  342. yesterday at Homes there was a verse in X seventeen

  343. twenty eight talking about for in Him we live and

  344. move and exist and if you notice the word in him,

  345. so it's about, you know, our identity in Christ, and

  346. it's not our own strength that we move and we exist,

  347. and when we have Christ we are able to actually

  348. do so much more. But of course it took a

  349. lot of prayer, a lot of intention, a lot of

  350. like just asking and then see see how I see

  351. how how God will move and even I myself as

  352. a mental professional, I learned different therapy peace, and then

  353. it's very normal that we think about like what this

  354. person will think of me, how she perceived me. You know,

  355. we don't be my friend anymore and we can't talk

  356. about the talk about that. But I always tell myself

  357. a very very famous question we ask in therapy, So

  358. what's the worst that can happen if you were to

  359. do this? So to me, if the worst that can

  360. happen is she will say no, I won't go. But

  361. there's always the word yet, So I maybe failed, I

  362. didn't succeed this time, but there's another chance that I

  363. can ask again, try again, and who knows when that

  364. yes will come last. So in a way we can

  365. consistently like still ask and see when the person is feeling.

  366. So it's not by me asking. I believe it's even

  367. to Holy Spirit like his help and how he's able

  368. to also convict people's hearts around us.

  369. Man, thank you so much. I think there's a very

  370. good reminder, right we talk about Christ. Without Christ, you,

  371. I am nothing right, and I think we always have

  372. to remember it as we share. Right Christians is not

  373. just about singing songs, praying and going home, eating, and

  374. going home, but not without Christ. Then we are not

  375. thinking so similarly. It's just as we quite interestingly, when

  376. we were at homes yesterday, we also talked about evangelism, right,

  377. And I think that's very apt. And one of the

  378. things is that you know, it's really the work of

  379. the Holy Spirit.

  380. Right.

  381. I think I want to also kind of latch onto

  382. what some things that came up, right. I think some

  383. things that we always think about when we want to

  384. share about the gospel is that how will I be perceived?

  385. And I think that's very very real, right, And it's

  386. actually sometimes very true.

  387. Right.

  388. For example, lie who is saying that, oh, these are

  389. really nice people, but they are really really really overwhelming

  390. in some sense, and sometimes that that is a hindrance

  391. in our mind, but somehow or rather right through persistence

  392. and continuous But I think God will use different people

  393. to reach different people, and that's that's where we have

  394. to play our parts. Maybe and introvert will reach out

  395. to an or extrovert reach out to issue, but that

  396. doesn't mean an extrovert will not reach out to an introvert.

  397. I think there are different things that will connect people along.

  398. And so thank you for that really really good perspective, right,

  399. and so you continuously invited the way.

  400. Uh.

  401. And then what happened after that? Do you accept price yet?

  402. In high school? Okay?

  403. So uh, it was just there and then and then

  404. after that I went to Penang to study. And so

  405. in Penang I met other friends, new friends, and also

  406. of course I think some of them they were also Christians.

  407. They also invited me to CF. Then we started going

  408. to some events. But there came one quite important person

  409. in this short this journey was one of my uh

  410. unique senior. So so in hostile you stay in like

  411. we call it a cubic made so in one role,

  412. there's like few rooms. So she was my neighbor and

  413. she actually one day, like I was in my toilet

  414. or she might clothes. Then she just came to me

  415. like got something for you, and I was like huh.

  416. Then she she actually give to me a Bible.

  417. Yeah.

  418. So that time I was like why, like like why,

  419. like I know, I know Bible is something very precious

  420. to Christian So I was actually quite touched by that gesture.

  421. And then she she didn't just stop there, and she

  422. actually told me, like, you know, we can do Bible

  423. study together like weekly, so since she just leaves neckdoor,

  424. time is flexible. And then we studied the Book of

  425. Live Together. Yeah, so there was the first time I

  426. actually really studied the world of God, like ask a

  427. lot of questions and then learn more about him. So

  428. it actually ended there and then I just continue to

  429. just go to CF events and then then I came

  430. back do I tell the part?

  431. Okay?

  432. So after that, like that's why I begin to learn

  433. to pray, learn to read. And then I came back

  434. one uh, came back hometown here at ten ex Christmas

  435. event and it was that ex suba and then that

  436. time I think it was the outer call where pastor

  437. can ask, you know, if you want to accept crist

  438. to raise our hand, and that time I do have

  439. hesitation because I still have that notion of like, you know,

  440. it's just a religion. So I was just thinking, like

  441. what if I read the whole Bible. I realized I

  442. don't want to subscribe to this, you know, yeah, okay,

  443. honest honestly speaking. But then that time I also know

  444. all this while the peace the Holy Spirit that I

  445. felt was no other religion or no other self help

  446. book that can give and I know that he was real.

  447. So I just like, Okay, then I just raised my hand. Yeah,

  448. so uh yeah, that.

  449. Was about it. A man a man, such a good

  450. story rymn right, just how God's peace really spoke to her.

  451. I just want to highlight a couple of parts from

  452. that story, right, And he talks about how in university

  453. someone just her senior, just gifted her a Bible and

  454. did Bible study with her. Right, And so how many

  455. of you think that it's pretty overwhelming or drastick right

  456. with any one of you just go up to someone

  457. and say, hey, I want to do Bible study. Here's

  458. a Bible someone who is not a Christian. I think

  459. sometimes in our mind we think that it's too much

  460. or think that is over there. But for someone like you,

  461. why it worked? Or I think ultimately right, it's up

  462. to God's leading. Right, And unfortunately we don't have her

  463. senior here to to share. But uh, what do you

  464. learn really from that Bible study as you as you

  465. as you look through it? Uh, what are some questions

  466. that came about?

  467. Okay, at a bit of context, right when she gives

  468. them me a Bible and she did Bible study. We

  469. really sort of like it's quite good friends because we

  470. see each other every day, you know, So it wasn't

  471. like she wasn't someone random and then just come to me.

  472. So that's that explained why. Like when she gives me

  473. the Bible and when she did the Bible study with me,

  474. I felt like what did I do to deserve this?

  475. Like why she's so nice to me? Like like it's

  476. like as though someone just you know, give you an

  477. iPhone new iPhone.

  478. Yeah.

  479. So so I didn't feel like, oh my god, she's

  480. trying to convert me, but I just felt like, what

  481. did I do to deserve her time?

  482. Yeah?

  483. So it was the foundational of you know, that genuine

  484. relationship that we had earlier that led me to be

  485. more receptive and less skeptical of her intention.

  486. Yeah. So the genuine relationships, that's I believe that's the

  487. same with with Michelle.

  488. Right.

  489. Yeah.

  490. So, like when Michelle invited me to homes, also didn't

  491. think was like, you know, is this a scheme or no?

  492. I just know that, you know, she she just wants

  493. me to go there. I was like, okay, yeah, just

  494. why not?

  495. Yeah, thank you? I think, uh yeah, I think it's

  496. a good thing to highlight that you know, it's our

  497. genuine uh, that genuineness if if someone can sense it,

  498. I think, uh, they will realize that it's not really

  499. a scheme. Uh, there's these different things they actually care.

  500. I think as you remember has its code. I think

  501. that people don't care what you have to say until

  502. they know that you care or something along the lines.

  503. And I think, uh, that's as very important. I think

  504. to balance that thing of like am I being too

  505. much or over tell us or over this versus you know,

  506. just being obedient and to Christ to really take uh

  507. an interest in somebody and really shower that care. And

  508. because it's enveloped in that care, it doesn't feel overwhelming.

  509. It feels it's not out of a certain right. And

  510. so we we saw and as you receive Christ? And

  511. then was that how long ago? Eight years ago?

  512. Right?

  513. And that was we all give thanks. I think you'll

  514. be an even interesting perspective to see what Michelle had

  515. from her perspective, and so you probably invited her what

  516. was going onto your mind?

  517. Right?

  518. And give a look.

  519. That I invited her for that Christmas service eight years

  520. ago and anything else. I just invited her.

  521. Lighting.

  522. I think so much about it because to be inviting

  523. her for homes really and she don't women she however,

  524. Salvagian car I was like, I was like, you know,

  525. like disbelief or like, you know, like to me, I'm

  526. very curious, like what really like made her like raise

  527. up her hand up. And later of course we had

  528. like a conversation like, oh so so she like what

  529. made you you know, lifts up your hands and she's

  530. seen her do that, right, she made me tear up,

  531. like what I felt very touched by by the act

  532. of hers to want to receive cris for herself. Yeah,

  533. and I think that also, yeah, you have probably your

  534. context this going backwards a bit so like growing up

  535. in a Christian family, so my parents first gan Christians,

  536. so I always view like how come their fire and

  537. passion for God is like for like up here in

  538. the mind, it's just much of inila, Like I feel

  539. like I can never compare to that level of love

  540. and passion that they have for Christ. And I think

  541. like through the different things that they've done through their

  542. actions when I was young and younger then was things

  543. like how as leaders back then in the church, they

  544. will actually like drag us go first. The recent night

  545. drive brave the jam and then they also were sell

  546. good leaders, so they actually rand at home and then

  547. we also ran al far at our own house. Yeah,

  548. so there were a lot of different things are and

  549. even like how I saw them consistently like praying since

  550. I was a young girl. They were saying like, oh,

  551. let's pay for these persons and you'll pray for their

  552. salvation and remember them in prayer. So who is that

  553. person that you can pray for and stuff? So I

  554. guess like it kind of like made me remember like her. Actually,

  555. prayer is very important. It's also important to even ask,

  556. like God, is there any name that we can pray

  557. for for even their salvation? And I believe, like, but

  558. you know, in Him, with prayer, we can do so

  559. much more than we ourselves can do as a person

  560. because to do eternal things we need God's help that

  561. we can't just rely on our own strength and the

  562. end of the day and yeah, the moment really that's

  563. why Hana like wa really like what and they're actually

  564. like I guess impacted me in a sense like wow, okay,

  565. I see like wow, God is so real and he

  566. can really move flat even if he hates life, not

  567. to me, but to even different different ones, just like

  568. her senior, different different people that have investors invited her

  569. throughout the many many years. It took a long time.

  570. You know.

  571. If I was like, invite her once and nothing happened,

  572. twice nothing happened, then I might have just been like, Okay,

  573. maybe nothing will happen. But I guess it's just consistently

  574. large so waing and seeing how that will work. And

  575. eventually when that happened, it was just very touching moment

  576. for me, like seeing how God moves. And they also

  577. encouraged me to even like try and share more about

  578. Christ to people around me. Yeah, to even my ex

  579. colleagues and different people around me.

  580. Okay, so thank you so much. I think some key

  581. things consistency, consistency in really really reaching out to maintain

  582. that friendship even overseas, right, And I think I was

  583. really cool to hear that how Tony and Ronica's life

  584. right as a living example, also encourage Michelle to to

  585. challenge and to challenge itself to really be obedient. Right,

  586. So just some closing costs anything that you felt you learned,

  587. apart from what you've really said from your whole experience,

  588. and evangelism, if you have anything to say, I guess.

  589. It's like it's I know, you know, when we see

  590. the word evangelism or we hear the word evangelism, we'll

  591. feel like there's a lot to do or it's very daunting.

  592. But I hope sharing our story can show you a

  593. glimpse of like everyone can do a part where it

  594. can be as small as you know, just inviting someone

  595. to church, you a CF and even Marcus was one,

  596. or the sower like he drove us to he came

  597. to my house and they're like seared me out to

  598. go to homes and send me back.

  599. Yeah, I remember that.

  600. And then.

  601. And the friend, I mean that the unique friend who

  602. give the me Bible and things like that. But eventually,

  603. at the end of the day, just remember that God

  604. is always the one who has you are just being

  605. part of His worker to whether you're a sower or

  606. you're a water or you're one who just chows fertilizer

  607. or anything. But yeah, God is always the one who

  608. howers that the end. Then, knowing that, I guess hopefully

  609. like you don't pressure yourself too much.

  610. Yeah, thank you so much.

  611. Let me sure you have anything I guess, just.

  612. Echoing what Ley mentioned that every person matters are It

  613. may be just your presence, it may be just you

  614. being there, you're caring for them and doing different things,

  615. but every single thing that you do, even your life

  616. matters because wherever we go right we can actually carry

  617. God's presence into the place, and we can actually impact

  618. a person's life so much more than we can ever imagine.

  619. So I guess one thing that even I myself always

  620. ask myself is, you know, with every connection or opportunity

  621. that I have, how can I maximize it? You know,

  622. sometimes it's just randomly like sharing your testimony, sharing God's

  623. goodness in your life. That can actually be a form

  624. of evangelism in a sense. It doesn't have to be like,

  625. oh you have to Bible, you have to a Ceri

  626. Christ kind of thing, but you can also share your

  627. own life and also being very mindful of how we

  628. carry our own lives and even taking I guess, dominion

  629. over the places are that we are at at the

  630. same time, that can really matter because ultimately all glory

  631. goes to God, and God can use you as long

  632. as you're reading and you're willing to ask and seek

  633. Him for wisdom and guidance and even a direction now

  634. what to do and how to say, how to pray?

  635. How do different things?

  636. Thank you so much, Michelle and Lehuay. I hope you're

  637. really really encouraged by their story, right, even, don't look

  638. down on the simple things, the small things, right, everything matters, right,

  639. maybe not to one specific person, but to many in

  640. different areas. And so thank you so much for sharing

  641. this pressure story. And I'm sure there are plenty more

  642. amongst your and I pray that you will continue to

  643. seek and find one another's salvation story. So much more

  644. to glean from, but let's highlight one more, right, So

  645. let's look, uh to Eugene and Yvonne. And so let

  646. me first start with Yvonne. Right, So yvon just for context,

  647. even was the first in her family to receive price

  648. and so maybe we like to share a little bit

  649. how all that came about.

  650. Or so first of all, let me just about the

  651. background of my family. So my family is actually pretty bilive.

  652. They are Buddhists technically, so basically we do follow them

  653. to temples, you know, whenever there's any like they need

  654. to go temple to just offer I mean, technically it

  655. is to offer incense and stuff and so on. Okay,

  656. so in our family, basically it's just like a typical

  657. Chinese family.

  658. So we.

  659. We I mean uh in a sense that both of

  660. us that we we we are the inventary. We call

  661. quite quite. So we actually very obedient, you know, like

  662. we obey our parents and in any case that they

  663. need to use king also like because we you know,

  664. just a little bit more not the already. Yeah yeah,

  665. so okay, so all right, so come back to the question,

  666. how do I actually know about Christ?

  667. Right?

  668. So it's actually my high school friend, all right.

  669. So it was when I was in my fourteen when

  670. I was in from two fourteen years old, so there

  671. was this friend actually out of random because that time

  672. it was my class land Jutan. It was not my

  673. official class, but it's just a additional class for us

  674. to some sort like have tuition. Now, so there was

  675. this girl who actually came from other class and in fact,

  676. my seat right beside me, it was the only seat

  677. that was available associated to sit there.

  678. So like so from there we started to know each

  679. other and then.

  680. And sooner or later the next year, right, because we

  681. have these uh some sort like you know, Uh, if

  682. you are if your result is good, then you moved

  683. to the best class. So actually I was in the

  684. best class, so she moved over, okay, and then yeah,

  685. so we started our friendship and so on. So she

  686. shared to me how because she also a first gen No,

  687. first gen not considered sorry, so she she she shared

  688. to meet her her acceptance of Christ.

  689. How how how did it go?

  690. So it was actually her parents who actually wanted to

  691. bring her to church. Yeah, so, and initially it was

  692. her and a siblings oppose that idea. Again, so the

  693. parents were considered the first jen I mean in terms

  694. of Christ. So and then and then she shared about

  695. like her activities in church events and so on. So

  696. it's it's I mean I never heard of activities, uh

  697. like church activities before because as I was quite sheltered,

  698. I don't I never attended camp before. So yeah, my

  699. my parents didn't allow us to go for camp because

  700. of safety reason. I know, like when back when I

  701. was seeing my uh primary school, all right, even they

  702. got these Christian children camp got the flyers and over

  703. and then like some or other, I did like ask

  704. my parents can I go?

  705. No, No, cannot go?

  706. Yeah, because they are they are the type of you know,

  707. typical protective parents, luck in you know, in a family.

  708. So yeah, so from there, I mean from what my

  709. friends have shard to me.

  710. So I grew interested not because of God, because of

  711. the her grams and events and so on, because I think,

  712. I like, I mean, how happening is that? Like you

  713. before that, it's like quite you know, you just stay

  714. in your family, I mean, and most you just go

  715. follow your parents to go grocery shoppings, all right, you

  716. don't know about anything out there. So when she shard

  717. about this thing, I really, oh, okay, that's fun. Like

  718. they have very interesting youth programs as well, like water

  719. war like basically yeah with chill water balloons and so on,

  720. you know, like yeah, yeah, so that was one of

  721. the activities.

  722. And also we have very.

  723. Large congregation because I mean not with her church initially,

  724. so before I went to the church.

  725. So yeah, very happening now.

  726. So and then as she also shared about God that

  727. she gifted me her her mom's Bible, So yeah, I

  728. saw her mom's name Sama on the Bible. But yeah,

  729. I don't know whether she gotta tell her mama, but

  730. I think herman does a mind life.

  731. Okay.

  732. So, yeah, I got that Bible, so I tried to

  733. read and then you know, understand, and also I started

  734. to also because I had that had bit. Actually my

  735. mom brought us to library every week and all, and

  736. that actually grew interested because I think Bible at that

  737. time for me, I was fourteen years old. I think

  738. I couldn't really understand like a bit more so, actually

  739. I borrowed the story books the Bible.

  740. Story books.

  741. Yeah, like the kids son, Yes, I imagine you're a kid,

  742. and then you're trying to understand Bible too, story books

  743. instead of the Bible itself.

  744. Yeah.

  745. So and then also like yeah, as you shared. And

  746. then also she kind of encouraged me now and then

  747. asked me to go to church.

  748. Okay, so that is a quite a turning point, I

  749. would say. Okay. So initially, because.

  750. I grew up in my family, I was quite timid person. Okay,

  751. so if any other thing that I wanted to ask

  752. my family for permission, so I would like, m should

  753. I ask?

  754. It was really hard and.

  755. I did try to ask, like for the first few times,

  756. and I was rejected, Like why my mom would ask me,

  757. why do you want to go to church?

  758. Yeah, and then like and then then I tried to

  759. discuss my.

  760. Friend now so interestingly equated shard to me, like the

  761. parents brought them to church because to learn English.

  762. Rite.

  763. So my friend actually told me, why don't just tell

  764. your parents that you wanted to learn English?

  765. There was one of the ways.

  766. Actually it worked like it worked so actually I said, oh,

  767. because I wanted to learning because my English was not so,

  768. I mean, not so fluentla. Because we also my our

  769. our come, I mean our language our it's it's mandrein.

  770. So actually we don't really speak English at home or

  771. even with people. Also we just you know, project now

  772. and then yeah, but sorry, it didn't work like initially

  773. so okay, then they said they did not, they do not.

  774. They head a lot, but still no, cannot cannot go.

  775. So I received so much rejection right at one point,

  776. I was like, I think to myself, why why is it?

  777. Why why was it so hard to go to church?

  778. And then then I actually I had because multiple of rejections,

  779. and it wasn't really friendly kind of rejection like restraighted

  780. to the face, very stern.

  781. Very firm, and then some more like.

  782. Because my mom told me she she's like a tigerl

  783. like she you know, very fierce, you know when she yeah, yeah,

  784. my brother just said, whish mom is not tiger, right,

  785. so to everyone is a tiger. Okay, she's fierce some

  786. so it's it's really hard loss.

  787. So so.

  788. Then I had a breakdown. So actually I cried. So

  789. actually I asked my brother, so could you help me

  790. to ask whether I can go to church or not?

  791. I asked him to ask my parents whether I can go.

  792. But at that time, I don't think he know anything.

  793. He's just a messenger. But did you ask her?

  794. Okay, I'm not sure whether he remember. I think he

  795. got lived.

  796. I think he got he got asked, like I think

  797. I think somehow like he asked like can just go

  798. to church like very you know, like very pure, like

  799. you didn't think much like why?

  800. So yeah, so really, I mean it was really tough.

  801. And then had to go through.

  802. To reason also with them, with my parents and so on,

  803. and so finally at one point, right my dad, my dad,

  804. he's his softer like come back to my mom. So

  805. actually he told me you can go after your PMR

  806. because that year I was fifteen years old. So okay,

  807. that's that sounds a good idea.

  808. Yeah.

  809. So actually, so during that period, there was something happened also.

  810. This friend.

  811. So this friend actually she's the one who introduced me

  812. to God, right, But at the same time, also there

  813. was something happening in our friendship, so she actually stopped

  814. talking to me for a few months.

  815. So and that.

  816. Despite of that, right, I didn't stop thinking, Oh so

  817. because this friend didn't talk to me, so I didn't

  818. want to go to church already. No, I think at

  819. that point of time, I knew my relationship with God already,

  820. so that actually made me relying sttory like on God

  821. more like, uh, I prayed to him every night and

  822. then like really it was it was I was just

  823. crying asking him why why this person you know, she's

  824. been trying to you know, lead me to Christ? And

  825. then why why did this happen? But but there was

  826. a reason also because I guess it was my my

  827. circle of friend It was not that big aware when

  828. I was in my secondary school and I was fifteen,

  829. so it was really, uh, you know, time, testing time,

  830. a testing time also loved to actually for me to

  831. actually to mix her around instead of just being friends

  832. with her. So at that time, why why, I mean why,

  833. I was set also because she shed so much about

  834. her things and then suddenly just all of a sudden

  835. stopped talking to me. Even I tried to answer, she didn't.

  836. She just kept a straight face. No, never tell me

  837. the reason. Also, but after that I found out from

  838. another friend why But yeah, but I didn't really you know,

  839. try to, you know, ask back all these questions. After

  840. we got back, I mean we when our friendship got

  841. well after. But yeah, so during that period also, yeah,

  842. so during the few months that we didn't speak to

  843. each other, right, So I really uh did ended on

  844. God and then I pray and so all right, and

  845. also I even asked God, like God, how how am

  846. I going to prepare for pm R, because I guess

  847. it's it's gonna be very hard because I couldn't focus

  848. studying and it was a few months before pm R.

  849. So but really just want to thank God during that

  850. period God was with me until when I said through

  851. my exam, I just said, it's okay, I got I

  852. got B or, I got c U, so it's okay. Yeah,

  853. I understand because I had to go on through this

  854. this difficult period of time, not just facing my parents

  855. but also this friend that I've been relying upon or

  856. so so. But God was really good and when I

  857. received my results, my PMR result, I got all straight

  858. a's for my pm R. Yeah, so really thank God

  859. for that. And yeah, my parents were really happy for

  860. that also. And in the end I managed after PMR,

  861. I managed to go to church.

  862. Wow.

  863. Yeah, yeah, so really thank God about it.

  864. Oh, Glory to God and man. Yes, so first contident

  865. PM master is. But also I think one of the

  866. very interesting thing was that while the friend was the

  867. one who shed to her and did all things supposedly right,

  868. at some point eventually she failed or there was a

  869. reef in it. But you will realize that, and at

  870. least I noticed that. You know, it's God who draws her.

  871. It's not really us right, and just as we share

  872. we talk about it, sometimes we worry so much that

  873. it's us right if I don't say the right thing,

  874. and actually we will say wrong things. You will do

  875. wrong things, We will do things which will push people

  876. away from God in some somestances. But God is sovereign

  877. and God is the author imperfective of if he will

  878. draw the people to him, So we just have to

  879. be obedient when we can when we should, and think

  880. God will really really and then even secsmony is one

  881. I think that the really shows that. So thank you

  882. so much even for sharing that. Now let's look a

  883. little bit into Eugene. Uh so, Eugene, when you first

  884. started then a straight indent. Uh no, no, okay, maybe

  885. we asked a so what what's was even really like

  886. the first question that you met really.

  887. Mm hmmm.

  888. In their time around and I'm still h like a

  889. like a kid, you know, just go with the flow everything.

  890. You know, if there's playtime, you just go with the playtime.

  891. And to me, uh, I see my sister, you know,

  892. my sister.

  893. Growing up, she.

  894. She's kind of like a very cuest person and also

  895. like to ask questions of character right.

  896. And then.

  897. And then I see the the persistence in her. So

  898. see how she.

  899. Going from you know, trying trying so hard, like all

  900. all the things that she wants to you know, go

  901. to the church, understand.

  902. The word of God.

  903. So that at that point I'm like, oh wow, this

  904. thing quite magical can slightly change a person. You know,

  905. her character back then was.

  906. Like uh oh.

  907. Likely, well no, no, no, no, no, I mean yeah,

  908. uh yeah.

  909. Maybe because of that story, like you become more obedient,

  910. uh to parents specially especially and certain things that you

  911. want that you need to work out to let them know, right,

  912. okay that I want to work this out.

  913. You know, I work really hard for that. So give

  914. me that thing.

  915. So you know, I'm not a straight air person. I

  916. try to score, but cannot score those kinds of things,

  917. you know, just as I said, go with the floor?

  918. Yeah yeah, I to me, Yeah, like I said before,

  919. music is life for me. So I don't care if

  920. I get straight air or anything, but just you know,

  921. if that things is really picking my interest, so I

  922. sort of want to know more. Yeah, so yeah, that's

  923. that's how I know that my sister is actually like

  924. become a Christian. So yeah, you know, the Christian stuff

  925. slowly u uh into my to my mind the next time.

  926. Mm hmm.

  927. So you you saw changes in uh and that picked

  928. your interests to normal? Why is this this thing that

  929. she she really wanted so much that I think, compare

  930. to yourself, was really just go with the floor. And

  931. why she's looking so hard for this kind of thing?

  932. That is that what you think?

  933. Yeah, I can see she always go out event like

  934. always go out for what kind of event, like go

  935. with friends? You know, maybe for for us here, it's normal.

  936. For me, yeah, as the first gan. You know, we

  937. don't really understand what the Christians always do, right, so

  938. I can see her going around going to church or

  939. going to event that's really a lot of event.

  940. And I.

  941. Yeah, I can see she always not at home maybe

  942. but yeah, I know where she she go every time.

  943. Yep.

  944. So can you maybe talk about how you came to

  945. christ after that?

  946. After Yvonne, she also invited me to those events as well,

  947. and U g got e very well to cover. Hope.

  948. I go with the floor the Christmas party, let's go go,

  949. and then I thought it was kind of fun. Whoa

  950. got present? Whoat a bunch of kids together? Who let's

  951. play together?

  952. Yeah, and then we get to hang out different ones.

  953. And then slowly I remember that one. Maybe it's not

  954. in the know, but uh that's one event that uh

  955. for salvation as well. But that days on Christmas Eve

  956. and they call us and you know, and then to

  957. be honest, if you ask me, I don't really know

  958. what I did that time. So I just raised my

  959. hand and then I thought, you know, I and on

  960. the day they really asked, you know, believe in you know,

  961. Jesus or a savior and all that. So I really

  962. did believe that and then actually moved me from the

  963. word during Christmas Eve, so it's kind of moved me never.

  964. And then yeah, I raised my hand and then and.

  965. Then someone I'll show us like a line like go

  966. inside somewhere, and then came out from the other the

  967. other end, what's going on? And then up with the

  968. book with the CD and so I got and then

  969. I brought the home with me like a like a

  970. book blood like like you know the starter pack. Yeah yeah,

  971. start pack. So yeah all Chinese, okay, Childese is fine.

  972. Oh yeah.

  973. So yeah, that's one of the events that uh yeah,

  974. it's kind of interesting that you know, mm hmmm, uh

  975. can say like being called yeah mm hmm hm and

  976. uh and also not just about the event and all

  977. the stuff.

  978. I've been.

  979. Involved, or I can say, uh in touch with Christian

  980. since I was really young and I didn't even realize

  981. mm hmm. It's just that I didn't know what the

  982. practice is.

  983. So uh yeah, I think when you were really young,

  984. you had uh Christians that you met.

  985. Yeah, so uh yeah, I just didn't realize that.

  986. So yeah, then after that, Yeah, soul sisters of the

  987. church all that realize understand slowly bit by bit.

  988. But yeah, it's the kid, what do you expect?

  989. M hm?

  990. So when you accept the Christ, I mean there's one

  991. word about the event right where you reish your hand,

  992. and then they did the salvation pack or rather the

  993. pack kind of thing.

  994. Uh.

  995. And so you didn't really understand it, but now you

  996. understand it. Yes, And so how how do you get

  997. from there to to now? Or did your journey of

  998. faith actually grow from them?

  999. Mm hmm.

1000. Yeah, I can say, you know, at first, like a

1001. look warm at first, it's like warm feelings.

1002. Doesn't really care much, but in my mind.

1003. About my own existence, So uh, that's also involving like

1004. you know, I'm not sure if this happened with anyone here, like.

1005. When he was like a little kid you asked, you

1006. start to like question what is old thing about?

  1007. You know?

1008. M hm, and then like why am I here? Yeah? Yeah,

1009. so maybe for a certain people that they can relate

  1010. to this.

1011. And yeah, if you talk about my starting point was like, uh,

1012. you know, start the question, Uh, if there's anyone that

1013. you know created created everything, including the trees, the mountains.

1014. And yeah, that's big my interest.

1015. So yeah, and that's doesn't really establish anything my understanding

  1016. because still young.

  1017. So then after that.

1018. Fields after uh, then things to start to you know,

1019. see more clearly. Uh as.

1020. When I was I think when I was like eight

1021. or nine years old around there.

  1022. And then.

1023. I saw my mate. You know, I have a filmmates

1024. so so and they're all they were all Christians.

1025. So what they did that.

1026. They will talk to her themselves at night, you know.

  1027. And then.

1028. I was, you know, very very curious what they what

1029. they did, right, so I went to his uh, to

1030. their room right and then and then she was like

1031. with the with the Bible with a book. I didn't

1032. know what the but it's a book. So I asked her, like,

1033. why do you talk to yourselfe? And then no, I

1034. talked to Jesus. She said, h I did not that

1035. work called devotion, you know. I just came to the room.

1036. Oh okay, and then oh, there's a book. And then

1037. I tried to flip a field of pages.

  1038. Wow.

1039. Oh but hassa h or you understand no Chinese, no English,

1040. give it back. But I still remember the the.

  1041. The book of it.

1042. Yeah, it's a black hot cover with the pink side

1043. of it. If you all can relate to that. So yeah,

1044. and then to me, uh, I can always hear them,

1045. you know, talk to them every night. Yeah, yeah, every night.

1046. So yeah, and I didn't know all the time. And

1047. then after that, m yeah, come to my sister. And

1048. and also there's one if I can recall, uhs when

1049. I was in high school and when I was from.

  1050. UH.

1051. And then there's this uh guy which my friend of

1052. my sister and the time we were in the bus

1053. stop just outside the school and then she came to Yeah,

1054. we we're both in the in the bus stop, so

1055. we're waiting our parents. I think so, so we have

1056. time there three time there there this one guy came

1057. to me with I think it's your friend, so uh

1058. he came with the moltia I think so. And then yeah,

1059. she just asked a sister and you have some time,

1060. you know, Oh, she can talk to you to the brothers.

1061. So I remember he took out the small booklet like

1062. the yellow booklet, and then he start you know, introduced himself.

  1063. Likeh blah blah blah.

1064. You know, you just want to know you know, and

1065. then he started to explain the stuff inside the book,

  1066. which is in Chinese.

1067. Yes, so certainly or something like that.

1068. Uh. That's why I still remembered to this day because

1069. how I felt the warm, uh like really warm, even

1070. though I'm not really understand what he tried to say,

1071. but I can feel the warm there and then still

1072. inside my mind, and that was quite uh kind of

1073. really moved me. Now, you know, I want to know

  1074. more maybe you know.

  1075. And then I think I did.

1076. Uh. I asked my sister about he and there, but

1077. you know, sometimes you just don't need to ask she

1078. she will just tell you everything. You know, what giving

1079. to the church, really nice people there and then uh,

1080. I did this kind of then and then and then

1081. share some Bible versus to me and then what what

1082. the worst telling about? So eventually from there I slowly

1083. to develop a little bit understanding, you know, slowly but

1084. one at a time. And then after that she was like, uh,

1085. start to see more her Christian friends. So yeah, as

1086. I told him earlier, Uh, I go to Christians part

1087. the Christmas Christmas party over again. Those food things. When

  1088. I see food, I golla. So that's that's a short thing.

1089. So yeah, and uh and then ow all this stuff

1090. and then I really can feel the warmth there.

  1091. Mm hmm.

1092. That's something that I didn't really experience in other places,

1093. even though I can relate to live here as well,

1094. like whoa, the energy really higher they are over us,

1095. and to me, yeah, as introvert, I do feel a bit,

1096. but that's just fine. I mean, just we get used

1097. to it them so but ultimately to me, they're really

1098. nice people. And then that's where I felt more of

1099. the warmth there, and then it tacked me and want

1100. to learn more about it.

  1101. M hm.

1102. Thank you for your talk show. Yeah, team took some

1103. time really to you know, plan the whole thing, so

1104. thank you. Thank you for all your stories. Okay, just

  1105. ignore that hallelujah.

  1106. But are you okay?

  1107. Are you okay?

  1108. All right?

1109. So I think we're going to be doing the rooming

1110. in a bit, but before that, maybe one or two announcement.

1111. But so far you guys okay, Praise the Lord hallelujah.

1112. Is it too cold? Sorry for that? Someone say no?

1113. So maybe later we bring some black
