You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Let's turn with me to Mark chapter six. Okay, Mark
-
chapter six, Turn to me to verse thirty, and then
-
all the way to verse forty two. Okay, Um, let's
-
read through it. I'm gonna read through from verse thirty. Okay,
-
I'm reading here from NKJV Mark chapter six, Verse thirty.
-
Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told him all
-
things about what they had done and what they had thought. Okay.
-
This is after Jesus had send them two by two
-
to go into all the villagers, to cast out demons,
-
to heal people, and to annoy the sick. Okay. And
-
he said to them in verse thirty one, come aside
-
by yourself to a deserted place and rest for a while.
-
For there were many coming and going, and they did
-
not even have time to eat. So they departed to
-
a deserted place in the boat by themselves. But the
-
multitude saw them departing, and many knew him and ran
-
there on foot. From all the cities. They arrived before
-
them and came together to him and Jesus when he
-
came out saw a great multitude, and was moved with
-
compassion for them because they were like sheep, having no
-
without having a shepherd. They underlining that part. Okay. Jesus
-
was moved with compassion for them because they were like
-
sheep not having a shepherd. So he began to teach
-
them many things, not just wanting to teached them many
-
many things. When the day was now fast span, his
-
disciples came to him and said, this is a deserted place,
-
and already the hours lay. Send them away, that they
-
may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy
-
themselves bread. But they had nothing to eat. But he
-
answered and said to them, you give them something to eat. Okay,
-
underline that that's very important. You give them something to eat.
-
And they said to him, shall we go and buy
-
two hundred dinari worth of bread and give them something
-
to eat? Two hundred thenari is about one year's which okay.
-
But he said to them, how many loaves do you have?
-
Go and see, and when they had found out, they
-
said five and two fish. When he commanded them to
-
make them all sit in groups on the in groups
-
on the grass, so they sat down in ranks. Okay,
-
and underlined this part in hundreds and fifties. And when
-
he had taken the five loaves and the two fish,
-
he looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves
-
and gave to his disciples to set before them. And
-
the two fish he divided among them all. So they
-
all ate and were filled, and they took up the
-
twelve baskets of full fragments and of the fish. Now,
-
those who had eaten the loads were about five thousand men. Okay.
-
I prepare some slices, but I'm going to ask the
-
XTV to help me jump so that we don't review
-
certain things, okay, okay. So I'm going to focus on
-
the miracle on the feeding first, okay. So what can
-
we learn from quickly from the feeding of the of
-
the five thousand. First of all, it's not five thousand men, okay,
-
it's men. But at that time, people don't count women
-
and children. So if you add women and you ad children,
-
you're talking about easily twelve to fifteen thousand people. Okay,
-
to fifteen thousand people. There's a lot of people to
-
be fed there, okay. And he says that before Jesus
-
fed them, he was moved with compassion because they were
-
following him everywhere he come out of the boat, follow him.
-
They were coming up from different cities, you know, okay,
-
and they were walking. Okay. It's like I'm telling you,
-
right if Jesus was here right now, people from Suba,
-
people from Klana Jaya, people from Damasara Heights from kr
-
are walking to see. How many of you are planning
-
to walk here? To see someone walker walk a hey,
-
And it's not like oh you just look back near
-
back of Mama put one to know you are water
-
and you're hoping just to see. You don't know how
-
you're going to settle your foot. You walk fifteen thousand people,
-
I don't know how how long you walk in birds
-
or any other cannibals. Okay, people will walk from cities
-
to go and see. Okay, really okay, it's it's really
-
quite amazing things. Okay. So when he's when they came
-
and he was moving compassion because people from everywhere are
-
so desperate. Again, the keyword is desperate. So he taught
-
them many things and it came a very interesting scene okay,
-
because the disciples said that wow, okay, send them away
-
because it's late there's no food, you know, and you're
-
sending somewhere to find food. It is out of good
-
intent and also logical, but it is also not a
-
real solution because they come away so far where they're
-
going to find food. You get me right, Technically it
-
is a solution for themselves. So that okay, we are
-
cutting off you know, it's not my responsibility anymore. You
-
come to see me now, it just mess you, so
-
no longer my problem. But it is a solution, but
-
not solution. You get what I'm saying. Yeah, okay, it
-
is a solution, but not really a solution. Solution for you,
-
but not solution for them. And then Jesus said something,
-
you fit them, You go and fit them. Okay, And
-
so I think I've appreciate this before. I'm gonna share
-
with you again. So how did the miracle happen? We saw?
-
First of all, there's a due diligions that needs to happen.
-
You need to comb through what you have in your house. Okay,
-
always God wants to perform a miracle. What is the
-
first thing you need to do. You need to do
-
your due religions. You need to comb through what you have.
-
Five loaves and two fish their men together, and then
-
four past it. There are four key steps to this miracle. First,
-
the bread and the loaves say the loaves and the
-
fish were chosen. Okay, they were chosen. And the second
-
thing is says that that Jesus looked up to their
-
heaven and gave thanks, blessed it. Now, let me ask
-
you this question. When did the miracle happen when it
-
was chosen or when it was blessed or when it
-
was broken? When did the miracle happen when Gay thanks
-
all the foods for him? Ready? Everybody? Oh, everybody got
-
maffling already, everybody got know what is it? When God
-
know that? But cheese were g ready? Whoa? Everybody got happy.
-
You'll be happy. You are happy. You're happy. Everybody be happy.
-
You know. Did it happen that way? No, it was chosen,
-
it was blessed. And then Jesus broke the bread. Okay,
-
broke the bread. Okay. It was from the breaking of
-
the bread that the miracle happens. And actually it's very symbolic.
-
It's talking about Jesus. This is symbolizing about Jesus. The
-
Jesus' greatest ministry is not the teaching. It's not the healing.
-
Jesus' greatest miracle and gift for us is his broken body.
-
You know what I'm saying. You know, with healing he
-
can touch one person. But with his broken body that
-
died on the cross, everyone can believe on to it.
-
You get what I'm saying. You know that is a
-
true miracle. It is a foreshadowing, It is a prophetic.
-
Uh what you call it? Miracle? Okay? To tell everyone
-
and to tell us right now what this actually means.
-
It is out the brokenness. Okay. You can be chosen,
-
you can be blessed, but if you are not broken,
-
miracle does not flue. And the same thing with us
-
as Christians as well. A lot of times say we
-
are chosen one. God has chosen me. Thank you, God,
-
You've given me your mercy and your love. Thank you
-
so much. You know I accept it. You know I
-
feel blessed. You know I get prayed for. You know
-
I receive the world and worship. Oh, I feel so blessed. God.
-
You've given me a job, given me this and then. Yes,
-
but I tell you can experience in all this, but
-
no miracles unless you are broken. This is truth people,
-
unless you are broken. You see you look at look
-
at our world and look at history. The greatest achievements
-
or the greatest breakthrough the world have ever experienced, is
-
when men and women are broken. Look at Mother Teresa,
-
look at Abraham Linker, look at the people who have
-
to break through the most difficult social societal problems. It's
-
what when they gave up their lives to be broken.
-
You see what I'm saying, it's really broken. And if
-
you are a lot of people tend to ask me
-
that I don't know. What's my passion? You know? What
-
should I do? Should I do coffee? Should I do
-
be a TikTok influencer? Should be a full time gamer?
-
You know? So what's a purpose in my life? A
-
lot of times you won't discover it. You cannot discover
-
it through another person. Another person's role is not for you.
-
You get men right, of course, you said, yes, I
-
must pray, but a strong indication what you are, what
-
God wants you to do, A strong indication. Okay, God
-
tends to lead you to the places where you are
-
most broken. So if you want to say, like, why
-
is it that you want? And God Lord look into
-
your life. What has broken your heart before? Not talking
-
about the girlfriend or the boyfriend. What has broken your
-
heart before? You see when Jesus saw them, what was?
-
What did he feel? He was move with compassion because
-
he saw something. They were like sheep without shepherd. He
-
was moving compassion. Confession means are to be in the
-
same shoe, to feel as you feel, to be as
-
lost as you are lost, to be as hungry as
-
you are hungry. You get what I'm saying. You know,
-
Jesus understood that the reason why Jesus broke body was
-
broken for us because he knows that we are broken.
-
You get what I'm saying. You know we are broken,
-
and out of that brokenness he came forth and broke
-
and allowed him to be broken so that America can
-
flow through as well. So, if you are asking what
-
is your purpose in life? Is it to just earn money,
-
to retire? Is it to do or the next trip?
-
A lot? A strong hint is to look through your life.
-
When was the last time you your heart has been so
-
broken by something? I remember mine, you know, I remember
-
there was one time helping a family to feed them,
-
doing a committee work. I remember one time, you know,
-
I was working and then this guy who were reaching
-
out to he called me because he could you pick
-
me up from the uh Un hospital because the wife
-
has diabetes and no one to help. They had never
-
seen doctor, so he went there. So I went there
-
and myself. So I picked him up and then the
-
wife was real shame into the back of my car.
-
Then as I drove him, he was very thankful. He
-
and nothing to give to me. Then I started asking
-
how his family with foll up before with him before
-
then I realized that his house is no food, he's
-
been how the children has been drinking Chinese his tea
-
for milk, okay Chinese tea for milk, no rice and everything.
-
And I was like so broken heart because they had
-
no money to buy to buy what they call the
-
treatment for the wife as well. So it's very very heartbreaking.
-
By that moment, I was just so heart broken for them.
-
And I took him and I I went to the
-
liquor spit man. I say, you take buy whatever that
-
you need right now. I don't care about how much.
-
Then I wasn't earning a lot as well. I was
-
just a startup not start up, but I said quite
-
new into my work buy whatever you want, okay, by
-
whatever I bought rise And then he was so afraid
-
to buy things and I was like, no, he didn't
-
want to take right He took the small rice. I said, no,
-
you take these big rice. You buy you buy this
-
and buy that, buy milk for children, buy by exs
-
and stuff like that. So I put it in. He
-
was like so short, and I put in and like
-
then I broke him with a car. Thence we came down.
-
He cried and I know, I said, I don't know
-
what to do. I only know how to do this
-
right now. And he thanks me and stuff like that.
-
And then when I car, I tear and I cry,
-
and I remember God clearly listening to me. Matt. This
-
is what being broken means. You know what I'm saying.
-
We realize that it's not about you, And that's said
-
what I'm saying. You are truly broken when you realize
-
that it's not about you. You know what I'm saying,
-
It's not about you. It's not about my purpose, what
-
I'm supposed to do, what I will be. It's very
-
hard to find purpose in life when it's all about you. No, no, no.
-
A lot of times it is it's not about you.
-
When you realize that your life is made to make
-
a difference in other people's life, whether you feel good
-
or not, you disappear, but they rise up. Very likely
-
that's why God is calling you to in camera. It's
-
not about what you're most talented with, the most inclined
-
war suspended. No, no, no, no, it's more most of
-
the time, it's really not about you, not about you
-
at all. Okay, So that is the miracle. Okay. And yet,
-
and we see that Jesus was getting them to sit
-
in fifties and hundreds. Why did he see them in
-
fifties and hundreds more organized? You see Jesus ask them
-
initially in a miracle, you feed them. And he kept
-
to his promise. Even though Jesus wasn't doing the miracle,
-
he got them to so he got them to provide.
-
So imagine you guys are the first fifty group and
-
say maybe you should you come up here for one
-
volunteer you for one. So then you understand what I'm saying. Say,
-
for example, you are Peter, and I'm Jesus. Okay, and
-
I broke ready, and I broke and I gave you
-
the first basket and then you go down. Okay, you
-
go down and you're gonna feed this. And you guys
-
have to imagine that you haven't eaten anything. You are feeding.
-
You are hungry, and you are seeing you should doing
-
very quickly. Wait so quicker, slow down, slow down, slow down.
-
You're not giving handouts. Okay, store down, slow down, sow
-
so down. You must play a bit of realism here, okay, okay.
-
This is the first group of people who are the
-
family and the children. Okay, they are eating first. You
-
guys are hungry. Okay. Now at the back there I
-
need some volunteers. Now you are hungry, okay, and you
-
are seeing this guy with one basket and there are
-
twelve to fifteen thousand people. Give me some reaction. Soon
-
shot you out, showya give me some reaction, all right,
-
now on my right, give me some reaction as well.
-
You got children that are really hungry, Give me some reaction.
-
Come on, I don't think you'd be saying that you'll
-
be more desperate. Man, I think you've been sending your
-
children to go and get food. Lady, Okay, you understand
-
now how chaotic it is, right, it's chaotic. Sometimes you
-
have to be really I'm trying to get you guys
-
to play. It's difficult. You should can't back, come back,
-
listen to them. Thank you so much. You're doing such
-
a good job. Thank you so man. Okay, Now imagine you, well,
-
there's one basket, hold on, hold on no yeah, no yeah,
-
hold no no no done okay. So imagine that one basket,
-
by God's grace, can feed one role. Okay, okay, And
-
the rest of you you're like, is that it right?
-
Is that it only for the VIP hungry? And now
-
how would you feel? You should? You hope you have
-
more bread? Right? But what is what is going to
-
your mind? Because those these people are angry with you
-
and they say I'll be going to get fed, and
-
what a You're going to say? Try my best? Okay?
-
So is it out of the possibility that he's like,
-
I hope Jesus has more? Isn't it? Isn't it? You
-
see the way that he organized. Jesus is not asking
-
them to line. Now, he says, sit down, you fit them.
-
Your basket is empty. So what is your only option?
-
It's two come back to Jesus again. You come back
-
to me again, and then you walk and this time
-
you walk your you're not walking like normal, you know
-
you're walking, you're few and trembling. You know. It's like
-
I hope if I have because if you're going back
-
with an empty basket, you might not come back. And again,
-
you know you there, I might have you for a million,
-
you know what I mean. I said, you cannot go
-
back empty handed. Okay, give me and you pray and
-
hope that Jesus is more. And they said, Jesus, do
-
you have more? Okay? And then I said, sure, give
-
you more. And then you walk down again. You go
-
to the second row again, and then the people are
-
still complaining, isn't it. Come on, give me some reaction. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
-
Now now third time, so you're done redfeating. Second row
-
still go a lot of people. So what are you
-
thinking again? Come to me again? Come back again, come
-
back again. I'm getting you a workout. Right. Sorry, I
-
know you didn't ask for this, but now let me
-
ask you this right now, this is very important. Has
-
something changed in you in regards of how you start
-
to look at me, look at Jesus right now? You
-
are my provider? Ah, you see, I mean he believes
-
right now because the first time he adopted, and he
-
starts like when I come back, my basket is full
-
again and I go down. You see, the hungry people
-
have not changed. The situation has not changed. The people
-
them somehow hungry. But yet when he's empty, he started
-
to realize I can go back to Jesus and more
-
and more. By the tenth round, when you go, the
-
people the still same. Angry people are like Brian, they
-
oh and Lucas are like scandalizing and threatening. You are
-
Are you still as afraid now at the tenth time?
-
Why because you keep coming back. You're familiar and you
-
trust the source. You see, the feeding on the miracle
-
is not so much about just feeding the people. The
-
miracle is working were in him, that's the miracle. Sometimes
-
it's not just about feeding them, you know, it's transforming
-
the disciple. True discipleshit thank you so much, you know
-
saying what I'm saying. Uh, Jesus Christ, snap out of
-
hand now. Everybody felt ready happy me already. But they
-
will be easy, isn't it. But it's not. It's not
-
about getting the disciples to do it again and again
-
and again and again. So you see what miracle. You
-
see what testimony God, It's going to get you to
-
do it again and again and every time. The lesson
-
is that every time I need I go back to Jesus.
-
I go back. And when as I do it, I
-
start to realize more and more things happening and I believe.
-
So Jesus wants them not just to feed the deciple,
-
the the five thousand people. He wanted the disciples to
-
have a transformation, have a growth, have to believe and
-
to trust in Jesus more as well. But but would
-
they transformed were they actually believing? Okay, now this is
-
where just now what's the micro where are zoomed in?
-
I'm going to take you guys out right now. So
-
as I slowly conclude what is we see the miracle.
-
And then a lot of times when we read the Bible,
-
we take one story, one miracle, this miracle, this story,
-
and then we look at them as separate. But I
-
want to see take you to see the bigger picture.
-
You know, when we talk about just not the feeding
-
is missions, no missions. We are supposed to go out Okay,
-
be scattered, we being being broken. So there are others
-
for other ethnics can hear as well, but take out
-
and then zoom out with me if your bibles and
-
look at the mark chapter six again. Okay, mark chapter six,
-
and I want you to look at the whole entire
-
chapter briefly and some of the titles. Okay, I'm gonna
-
take you now. Now you must understand that a lot
-
of times when the chapters that are compound, it is
-
not coincidence. These stories are stitched together, not by coincidence
-
it all. Most of the time they tell you a story,
-
they tell you a pattern and something that Jesus is
-
trying to address. So sometimes if you just single out America,
-
you miss the whole story, or you miss what happens
-
after that. If you look at March chapter six, you
-
see for the first part that Jesus was rejected and Nazareth.
-
Then you see from verse seven that is the sending
-
out the twelve. Okay, there's a slight thing, okay, sending
-
out the twelve and then the third one. So suddenly
-
it talks about John the Baptist being beheaded. And if
-
you read the other four Gospels, almost similar patterns. Some
-
parts they may miss, they take out one or two,
-
but the pattern is similar. Okay, they they will include
-
most of the time they're sending out the twelve. They
-
will include John the Baptist beheaded, and they will include
-
the five thousand. The five thousand, the miracle five thousand
-
is included in every gospel. It was rare one included
-
in every gospel. They included. And then the last one,
-
Jesus walking on water. How do they even connect? That's
-
the harpis in it. How do they even connect? And
-
that's the difference when next time when you read the Bible.
-
There's a difference between reading the Bible, studying the Bible,
-
and understanding the Bible. You get me right about People
-
will just read and understand the scripture, but sometimes you
-
labor a bit another hour you ask a deeper question.
-
Are these all connected? And if these are all connected,
-
what Jesus try to speak and teach us all the disciples? Okay,
-
that's examine a brief bit, a bit, a bit more. Okay,
-
I'll do this very quickly. So the first one Jesus
-
rejected and Nazareth. O you get turned up the slight. Okay,
-
Jesus had rejected Nazareth. It says that Jesus was there
-
on Sabbath at the synagogue in his hometown, teaching, and
-
he was full of wisdom and full of works as well.
-
But then it became a stumbling block to his own people,
-
to the people who knew him, knew his brothers, his sisters,
-
his mothers at his mother's his mother, okay, and they
-
started to doubt him. They started to what do you
-
call it, uh, start to become what do they call it?
-
They were so amazed by the wisdom and the works
-
that came out with him. And it says he that
-
if you can tell me much of the sixth and
-
might as well just read it. And verse two Gay
-
Marx Chapter six, Verse two he says, when and when
-
the sabath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue,
-
and many hearing him were astonished, saying, where did these
-
men get these things? So it's a man, okay, They
-
look given me as a stranger. But then from a stranger,
-
it says that, and what wisdom is this? That he
-
is given to him, that such mighty works are performed
-
by his hand. Then they begin to understand that it
-
is is it not? The carpenter starts with a carpenter
-
carpenters are not really look that greatly one, okay, the
-
son of Mary or not just a carpenter. Someone we
-
might know in the village. And the brother of James, Joseph, Judas,
-
and Simon. We know their siblings, means we might have
-
hang out with him before and are not his sisters
-
with us. Some of them could be married among them
-
as well, it could be my in law. So what happens?
-
Then they were greatly offended by him? Do you know why? Okay?
-
Why were they suddenly offended by him? Because when someone
-
performs such great miracle, someone has such influence, someone has
-
such wisdom. Right, when you get to know someone like that, okay,
-
it forces you to decide who he is. You know
-
what I'm saying. No, you cannot help the whole day.
-
You won't be able to say It forces you to
-
decide who he is. You know what I'm saying now,
-
It forces you. If suddenly your childhood friend are suddenly
-
I do all this thing, You'll be asking who is
-
this guy? Really? You know what I'm saying now, So Jesus,
-
while doing all this thing, it forces them and so
-
they start to do trace back and they start to
-
find all this familiarity, they have, all this history they
-
had from their experience, and because of that they undersaid,
-
is he really the Messiah? Or is he someone that
-
we know and is just trying to play a fool
-
with us? Do you know what I'm saying? You see,
-
when someone is so great and they are close to you,
-
what happens? They start to reflect you. You're wanna saying
-
what I'm saying. Some of you might I know what
-
I'm saying here. Sometimes you go back to your old hometown,
-
or your go to your old schooler like fifty years,
-
or they haven't seen each other so that I said, hey,
-
how are you doing? How are you doing? How like? Oh,
-
you're doing better, he's doing worse. We all like to
-
compare one, isn't there Ah, I used to like you,
-
Now you don't like me. I say, you didn't get
-
me a all these other things. You know, we compare.
-
Oh see last time I was lasting in class. Now
-
I'm so much better. Right now I'm the top already.
-
We tend to compare. We like to compare. But someone
-
who is so close to you grew up so you
-
and then they are so great, what do you do?
-
You start to discount the person. You downgrade the person
-
because people say, if he is so great, how come
-
you are not? It's great, it's him. And this is
-
similar to like Able and Kine, oh able and Kine.
-
Remember Abel was accepted, Kane was not. How So, when
-
someone is great and doing great, it cannot help. What
-
happens is there's a comparison. It's a reflection happening. What
-
did I do with my life? And because of that,
-
they became offended with him. How can you be so great?
-
So they reject the suppressed. You get me right, they're suppressed.
-
They're suppressed about him. And and what do they do? Okay,
-
they're suppressing and what do they do? Uh? And they
-
say offender? And Jesus said, a prophet is not without
-
honor except in his own country, among his own relatives
-
and his own house. A prophet will receive honor everywhere
-
except in his own country. Normally are profits in the
-
same generation, in the same pier. They will be hated,
-
they will be cast out, and some a lot of
-
times they are killed. The next generation is the one
-
that buries them and remembers their great work, the great hypocrisy. Huh,
-
and say what I'm saying now, and this is the
-
and this is the this is the history of the prophets,
-
you know, hated by their own generation, but the next
-
general niation will remember and bury them. You mean, right,
-
is very very very very sad and hypocritical. And then
-
he says that now he could do no mighty works
-
as there, except that he laid his hands on the
-
field and healed them, and he marveled because of their unbelief.
-
And he went about the villagers in the circuit teaching.
-
So he couldn't do great mighty works then, except for
-
maybe healing a few people. Now this is where you
-
gotta really hold on. Okay. So Jesus saw something, Okay,
-
saw unbelieved in his hometown, people who knew him best.
-
Then what did Jesus do? In the second one, he says,
-
he sent out the twelve disciples. Immediately he must understand
-
it's all connected. One Now he's so unbelieved, and he started,
-
he begins to have a plan. His plan is sending
-
out the disciples two by two, saying that you go
-
into every city and villages. Okay, and then what did
-
they do? What what message did they preach? He preached
-
they preach repentance. You must repent. Okay, they preach, and
-
then he says that you were always where sandals and
-
don't wear two tunics. Why what does it mean? Why sandals?
-
The only time you wear sandal is when you are
-
on on holy ground. Okay, Moses have to take off
-
his sandals because he was on holy ground. That's why
-
I say, you're not going to be accepted every time. Okay,
-
you gotta wear your sandals. You've gotta be ready. You
-
may be in and he may be out very quickly.
-
This sandals, two tunics? Why you have normally people wear
-
normally people. If you're a richer, you're better, more affordable,
-
you wear two tunics. It's like we wear our coat.
-
We have a shirt and we have our coat. The
-
outer coat is more for like to show your formality
-
or sometimes if you are really rich, you're shore you're
-
being more pompous or being more elaborate and stuff. Later,
-
when Jessa said, you don't need your coat, you don't
-
need your outer garment. You only need your insight on
-
his word. You are not there for formality or any celebration.
-
You're just to go in and out immediately. You get
-
what I'm saying, you are not there to make a celebration.
-
You're not there to really have any cute meat agenda.
-
You're just there to meet the needs. If they accept you,
-
they accept you. Thatt's it out and they get me right.
-
You're not to make a royalty of anything as well. Okay,
-
So that was why I did, and then it said okay,
-
then it moves to a very interesting talks about John
-
the Baptist beheaded pastor so confusing talk about being rejected,
-
sending disciples, and suddenly talk about John the Baptist beheaded.
-
This is the part where I just struggle, you know,
-
I was like, Jesus, why are trying to tell me?
-
I really don't understand. You know. I tried looking online,
-
so oh I never tell me or so not. So
-
I labored and labor. Then I understood something. You know
-
why they talk about John the Baptist beheaded, and then
-
immediately after the beheading, it was what they're feeding the
-
five thousand and before was the sending of the twelve.
-
Do you see something happening there? John the Baptist came
-
before Jesus to tell people who Jesus is, to pave
-
the way. John the Baptist beheading marks the end of
-
his ministry, and the ministry now belongs to the disciples.
-
The sending out the twelve before John the Baptist was
-
their internship, their internship, but the internship cannot step into
-
the full time role because there was something someone doing it.
-
It was John the Baptist. So now John the Baptists
-
have officially retired early. Okay, Now Jesus comes in and
-
says that you are going to come in and I'm
-
going to prepare you to feed the five thousand. Now
-
you understand, you understand now the context of the feeding
-
the five thousand mile John the Baptist nom already but
-
a lot of foreshadowing. There's a lot of profecty things
-
I can tell you. John the Baptist is also a
-
hint of how the disciples will also have to endure. So,
-
but now the role has been vacated very clearly. Is
-
a passing of the bottom on. John the Baptist stepped
-
away the disciples. But the disciples are very young. It's
-
like you're you're recruiting a fresh grad or a graduator
-
into a manager's roleing on into John the Baptist's rolling
-
on such a heavy role. You get mean right? How
-
you know they were preaching the same thing, repentance. John
-
the Baptist was preaching repentance as well. John the Baptists
-
were so great. But these twelve jokers fisherman text collectors,
-
who are always squabbling abore themselves, is not going to
-
take over his mentor. But yet, of course they've got
-
mentor that Jesus. Jesus is going to mentor them to
-
take on this role. And then the first thing they
-
have to do, Jesus say, now Jesus knows that Jean
-
Baptists had died because the John Baptist disciples told him.
-
Jesus hurd that what did he do? He didn't go
-
and mourn, He didn't go and visit the funeral. What
-
is to do? He said? Now the work has to
-
be done. Now I have to prepare my disciples. And
-
that's say why I'm saying, you know, this is the story.
-
Jesus prepares them by saying, hey, look at these people
-
ship without shepherd, and yet my disciples don't understand what
-
is happening. The people are hungry, and my disciples are
-
telling me to send them home. They don't see what
-
I'm seeing. You see, you see when you are trying
-
to be a minister, right, it's not just about casting
-
demons out. You see in the very beginning of the
-
Feeding the five thousand and you say, say in verse thirty,
-
the apostles, after they went to the villager's right, they
-
came back. They were so amazing, you know, oh, cast
-
out demons, heal people. They were telling just says, yeah,
-
my ministry is successful. Who you know, my homeless multiply
-
I do this. Yeah, Jesus, no, stop, like give me
-
I they were absorbed, but Jesus like good, okay, good good.
-
But now they go five thousand. They will not prepare
-
for the five thousand. You know why. They were okay
-
to heal, but they were not ready to feed. This
-
burden was too much for them. You get me, right.
-
It's one thing to do ministry and one thing to
-
be burdened with the people want to know it gave
-
me right, and this is the ministry that Jesus is
-
called to bear the burden of the people. When I'm
-
not asking the church at to fIF five thousand people,
-
I'm saying it not. But what I'm saying to you
-
is this that the ministry is to the needs of
-
the people, the urgent needs of the people. And are
-
you able to see that they are sheep without shepherd
-
and when as you are when you go into the ministry.
-
It's not because I got talent. You go into ministry
-
because you know there is a need. You know Jesus
-
is calling, and you know that you are seeing what
-
Jesus is seeing, and you know before you see anything
-
for yourself, you're going to be emptied. Yeah, being a
-
pastor is not great. Like, well, I got title. I
-
want people will say hi, high pastor, high pastor. It's
-
a burden. It's a burden. Seriously, it's a burden. Being
-
a parent is a burden. Be a parent child? Yeah,
-
so cute take photo. I think that's the best part
-
of being a parent, is it. It's a burden. You
-
come here. A lot of people want ministry without the burden.
-
They want the glory without the burden. But it's a burden.
-
How lonely it is. How much the people will empty
-
you first? You got me right before you have anything.
-
You know, they will empty you first. And the disciples
-
send them away, let them eat their food. We will
-
do the rest of mystry, but we will not be
-
empty to we you're gonna take our two hundreds in
-
narrea salaria, We're gonna be empty. Cannot do. But you
-
say that you fit them. That's why the center. You
-
fit them. Then they realize this is the job requirement.
-
You got me right. They're just like, this is the
-
job requirement. What do we get involved when we started
-
following Jesus is that that you don't understand your job
-
requirement and when you're in your working on Oh my goodness,
-
this is the real job requirement. This is what we
-
are following Jesus for. Not miracles and not but to
-
be burdened, but to be you know. But he said,
-
you now doing your role first day at work. You
-
don't know how to do it? Jesus. How then Jesus
-
say that you feed them? Then what you have give
-
to him. So Jesus shows the miracles, give to them.
-
And then what do we see? The last one? As
-
I close here, Jesus walk on the sea. Why suddenly
-
Jesus go and walk on the sea. You never see
-
the connection? Now why Jesus work on the sea. That's
-
read a bit okay. Mark Chapter six, verse forty five. Immediately,
-
he says, he says the word immediately, you know, after
-
feeding the five thousand, after doing all this miracle, after
-
thinking that they have been properly. But they call it
-
in turn or what they call it, brief about their job,
-
or understanding what ministry is about, or understanding that their
-
competency is nothing, but their sufficiency is found in Christ.
-
He would have thought they understood it. But then he
-
says that immediate after that he went he made his
-
disciples to do another thing, another test. First day you
-
go to a lot of tests. He made them to
-
go into the boats and go before hto the other side.
-
Now he went for one side to the other side
-
of Bessada, to canoe, not very far, about a few km,
-
you know, rowing, very simp very simple. And this is
-
about six o'clock. They say that the evening he says
-
that they got four watches six to nine, in the evening,
-
nine to twelve, twelve to three, and three to six.
-
Then the day begins again four watches, okay, Now, he
-
says here and when he has sent them away, he
-
departed to the mountain to pray. So they he sent
-
them to to to row across he himself. He will
-
go to the mountains to pray and he will meet
-
them on the other side. Okay. It's like saying that, hey,
-
j one, right now, I want you to drive, try
-
to my right to essess to guy there, and I
-
tell pass that I mean I will meet you there personally, okay,
-
and say what I'm saying. Okay, say you guys, all
-
of you take the car me. I will walk there
-
and I will meet you there. I'm not Jesus, Okay,
-
I'm just give you an example. I will walk there
-
and I will meet you, says to the Duriam place. Okay, okay,
-
I will meet you there. Okay. This is what happened.
-
And then it says there in verse forty seven, now
-
when evening came and the boat was in the middle
-
of the sea and he was alone in the lane.
-
Then he saw them straining and rowing for the wind
-
was against them. Now, about the fourth watch of the night,
-
he came to them walking on the sea and where
-
I passed them by. So it says in the evening,
-
around six to nine o'clock he told them, you go
-
ahead and meet me. Okay. I told you guys to
-
meet me around say at eight o'clock eight pm tonight.
-
It's from six o'clock towards I told you, okay, then
-
I wait there until until ten o'clock, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock,
-
twelve o'cot second watcher, the fourth watchat is three o'clock already,
-
you know, in the night, in the morning. In the morning,
-
it's like, hey, you guys, take how many hours are
-
just to go from here today? Nine hours are then
-
I was imagining Jesus is there already on the other side, okay,
-
he said, looking, And then you guys are still stuck
-
there halfway through. You all cannot moving on your battery
-
dying traffic jam. You men, you're stuck there en for
-
so long. And he says that this don't still rowing,
-
And then I know, there's what we know and not
-
doing all. You must understand how these people had just
-
cast out demons and healed people. Hey, telling Jesus how
-
much they've done and all, and they had just fifive
-
thousand people and all seeing great miracles and all. But
-
yet that cannot cross the sea. You know, did you
-
see something here? And now? Why can't they cross the sea?
-
And you have to ask yourself, is this similar to
-
the people earlier that rejected Jesus because of their unbelief. Oh,
-
is it possible that they have cast out demons heal
-
people and watch Jesus feed five thousand, that they still
-
unbelief or do not believe, and because of the unbelief,
-
they still couldn't cross the sea. Have you realized that before?
-
Do you think? Is it what I say? I surmise
-
that what does the Bible say? The Bible says that
-
in verse fifty and in verse forty nine. And when
-
they saw him walking on the sea, they supposed it
-
was a girlst ah, Okay, for nine hours we've been
-
straining a traffic gem star here suddenly someone are not
-
going no be done? Hi saying, oh you know you're
-
so stressed out and frustrated. Already nine hours just to
-
get through the traffic gem dry hours just to paddle
-
through this wind and storm. They would try that. They
-
were like, something is wrong. Something is you know, something
-
is not like you not crossing this this this air
-
and this there's this waters. And then he said that.
-
But immediately he talked to them and said be of good, said,
-
be a good cheer. It is I do not be afraid.
-
Then he went into the boat to them. Then he
-
stepped into the boat and the wind seas, and they
-
were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure and marble. Before
-
this day had never said this on before that there
-
had never been marveled. And we believe in now. And
-
then verse fifty two reveals finally, it reveals what for
-
they had not understood about the Thovese because of their
-
heart was hardened. Wow, now you see the sequence. Things
-
happen here. Things happen now for a reason. You know.
-
Sometimes are you go through a testinger And Jesus figured
-
five thousand. He said, while we've done a lot of
-
things already. Yes, we're ready, we understood the message, past
-
prays already, Yeah to training years. Okay, ready the moment
-
we're supposed to go there, we can't even do anything.
-
We stray. We do it forgot to pray you, forgot
-
to rely on God. We can't even cross the sea.
-
You can't even get from a fifteen minutes location and
-
not just get it right. You know, you know why,
-
because we have never understood who really Jesus was, even
-
the disciple can see all these things. I still did
-
not believe, you know, quite amazing, really really quite amazing.
-
And it's not any thing about it. It's really not
-
quite amazing because even you think about it, the people
-
in their hometown are after spending so long with Jesus,
-
are do not believe in on you know, see what
-
I'm saying. So my, my, my finally encreation here is
-
my time is up. I know I have do a
-
rush already. Don't harden your hearts. Understand what I'm saying.
-
Don't harden your hearts. God is faithful to always give signs,
-
you know, to do one miracle after another, to take
-
you from one place to another, so that this office
-
that has been given to you you can fulfill it
-
to the completion. Yes, it's difficult, but yet a lot
-
of times we harden our hearts. It's all about us.
-
It's all about us. It's all about our canality, our
-
things that we want to do a lot of things.
-
But don't harden your heart. What is God speaking to
-
you right now today, addressing right now in your life
-
that what is it that is so hard in your life?
-
I tell you it's so hardened. You say, oh, I
-
only believe that you and Jesus appear writing from me.
-
I tell you Jesus can appear righting for it, and
-
you still don't believe. That's how hardened we are. You're
-
not you know what I mean? Right? We are so
-
sinful and so so self deceptive. We are so so
-
stubborn now that these things and will not change us.
-
You know, so today we have You know what God
-
has been telling you. If you're supposed to serve yourself,
-
if you've got talents, you're supposed to give your talents,
-
start giving excuses. If you're supposed to leave one person,
-
you live that person. You're not being supposed to be
-
a read relationship, leave that relationship. You know I'm saying here,
-
not before one day. Even your own the people from
-
your own home now reject you, will reject me, your
-
own hearts. Even if you want to revisit that old
-
memory you have with Jesus, that will not convert you.
-
You know that's how scary it is. You know what
-
I'm saying, and not it's so important that we heed
-
right now that what is God call? It's not like God? Yeah,
-
maybe you know I'm gonna enjoy this right now, or
-
maybe my plan is I set on my life set
-
on my family everything first, Then I serve you. I
-
know people well meaning, and I know that there are
-
sometimes we have generations before I say you're going to
-
do that out there? When you have all money, you
-
go and soft God let me. I got a problem
-
with that with one thing. Every morning when you wake up,
-
do you really take your breath for granted you think
-
that you're going to live to tomorrow, next Monday, next year? Really,
-
who gives you that? Do you know? Every breath is
-
a privilege? You know? I just want not one family
-
survive and knows cancer the teeth. They're so thankful. They
-
used to have plans, want to do this, they want
-
to do now. I just want to go to Bible study.
-
You're saying what I'm saying, you not. I have a
-
problem with that because you're sore, presumptuous that you have
-
the days ahead. Did God approve that? No? Every day
-
to day you wake up, your breath is a privilege
-
is a blessing. What have you done? How have you
-
been accountable to say things like that? You know what
-
I'm saying? Or not? You ought to solve now to
-
the abssability. Your children, they are a blessing from God.
-
Sometimes you give so much you get so little back
-
because you do it on your own. I tell you
-
you'd be like the disciples. You can solve so much
-
to your children, but yet you can't even get the
-
boat across fifty minutes. It's true. Your children need Jesus.
-
Your children need your parents to follow like Jesus. You
-
know what I'm saying. No, they need to see you
-
as a parent, be like Jesus, to serve, to give
-
to empty, then they will follow. The feeding doesn't come
-
from you, your munitures a hand as a tool. The bread,
-
the true breath from Heaven, comes from Heaven. That's how
-
your family will be feed people. You know what I'm saying.
-
You not not because you fit them with tuition, with classes,
-
with enough sleeping time. I'm sorry i'll offend people here,
-
but it's true. What makes you say that is not
-
God's hands to one. They'll raise your children. That's the truth.
-
So don't be presumptuous, and don't harden your hearts, but
-
soften it so that God can minister, so that you,
-
yourself and your family can receive that salvation. Amen, come,
-
let's raised together, hallelujah. I don't mean to score. I
-
tell you, like I said, the messages came up to there.
-
Tell you whatever that I'm preaching, it just came up
-
this morning. It didn't I didn't have not a gender.
-
I just came up. But this is the word of
-
the Lord. Don't harden your hearts. Soften it up before
-
the Lord. Ask the Lord to minister, said, Lord, I'm
-
so fearful. I'm fearful for my own self that if
-
you not hear, if I do not soften, Lord, that
-
I might be out of reach. Lord, please have mercy.
-
Don't let me drift away. Lord, don't let me be
-
so stubborn, so dismissive, so offended, just like these people are,
-
that I cannot be rich. But Lord, have mercy. Today
-
I choose. I thank you that you continually work in me,
-
and I want to hear you today, harle and Lawyer,
-
wherever you are. I know I have to step away
-
right now. I'm going to ask you, you guys, to
-
wherever you are, to lift up your hands. I need
-
you guys to come before the Lord right now. Come
-
and commit yourself to the Lord. Come and pour out
-
your hearts and your thoughts and surrender to him.
