  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. Today. I'm gonna be continuing on this series on the

  4. seven churches in the Book of Revelations, and today we're

  5. gonna go to a very interesting church. It's called the

  6. Church in Programmers, or some people call it Programmers, and

  7. it's called the Compromising Church. Okay, turn with me to

  8. Revelations chapter two, and we're gonna read from verse twelve

  9. to verse seventeen. Before I do that, almost forgot, I

  10. just want to send woman's regards from passing can f

  11. passenger to you all as well. They do miss you all. Okay, okay,

  12. let's turn to chapter two, verse twelve, Revelations to verse twelve.

  13. All right, now, the title says that it's called the

  14. Compromising Church. Okay. So before that we have touched about

  15. the loveless Church, the persecuted, persecuted church, and now the

  16. compromising Church. He says verse twelve. And to the Angel

  17. of the Church in Pergamo's right, these things says he

  18. who has the shop two edged sword, okay, underlying that

  19. he who has the shop too edged sword, okay, verse thirteen.

  20. I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's

  21. throne is Oh okay, And you hold fast to my

  22. name and did not deny my faith even in the

  23. days in which Antipas was my faithful martyrn who was

  24. killed among you where Satan dwells. But I have a

  25. few things against you, because you have there those who

  26. hold the doctrine of Baleen, who taught bail Ballack to

  27. put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to

  28. eat things sacrificed to idols, and to come med sexual immorality.

  29. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of

  30. the Nicolaitans. Which things I which thing I hate, repent

  31. or else. I will come to you quickly and will

  32. fight against them with the sword of my mouth. He

  33. who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit

  34. says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will

  35. give some of the hidden manner to it. And I

  36. will give him a white stone, and on the stone

  37. a new name written, which no one knows except him

  38. who receives it. That's the reading of the Word of

  39. God in man. Now, Wow, there's a lot of things

  40. to be unpacked here, many many things. You know, we

  41. talked about swords, we talk about martyrs, we talk about

  42. sexual immorality, and we talk about manner. We talk about

  43. what else are white stones? Wow? Sounds like a Lord

  44. the Ring show, you know things. There are so many

  45. allegories and uhtions. Okay, it's okay, so let's go slowly.

  46. But today I'm gonna spend less time on the some

  47. of that. I usually go a bit detailed in some

  48. of the history, but I'm gonna know a bit lesser

  49. on that. Okay, But we're gonna focus on a few

  50. other key topics. Okay, So now let's focus on programs. Pergamas.

  51. It's a very powerful city. Okay, I'm not I'm gonna

  52. go through into much, but you can study if you

  53. want to. Red powerful city, and it's mainly known for

  54. its uh Like like I said, places of worship. They have,

  55. they worship a few main guards Okay. One of the

  56. major ones of course is Zeus who was there as well. Okay.

  57. And actually programs, if you go right now, you can go.

  58. It's it's basically near Turkey there, uh. And there's actually

  59. a very large museum there. So but maybe you can

  60. put up the slides if you have. Okay, so up

  61. the line they go through that first saw. This is

  62. how Programmam will actually look like in the modern times.

  63. It's actually seated on a heel and it's quite actually

  64. quite amazing. Okay, on the heel. There are always the

  65. main structures and the main buildings, not where people stay.

  66. The main structures are always the temples Zeus Temple and

  67. the theater. And also what I mentioned before the last time,

  68. we call it the imperial cult. You know what's the

  69. imperial count the worship of emperors. They detify humans as gods. Okay,

  70. so they have too the worship of the pagan gods

  71. and the worship of the so called the imperial cults

  72. as well. So on these two they will be seated

  73. and they on the top there and then below that

  74. you will see and there's these stairs. I think that's

  75. about a ten to twenty thousand seater. Theater is beautiful,

  76. you know, imagine a theater going to watch a movie

  77. and then at the sign when you turn to the site,

  78. you can oversee the rest of the city. It's a

  79. beautiful theater. And then I'm sure they don't have any

  80. problems with the acoustics. There side as well, very beautiful.

  81. And if you read through the scriptures there it will

  82. says that. It says there in verse thirteen, Jesus says

  83. to the church, I know your works, and where you

  84. dwell where Satan's throne is? Whoa Satan has a throne?

  85. What does a throne look like? Is it a chair?

  86. Is it a room? You know? How how does Satan's

  87. throne look like? You know, if you look at the bib,

  88. if you look and into you know, sometimes you know

  89. illustrations in online or in video games or in movies. Right,

  90. Satan's throne looks like something dark and you know, eerie

  91. and nightmary, you know, and stuff like that as well.

  92. So the scholars actually went and look into like what

  93. Satan's throne actually is. Of course, you can look at

  94. two two thrones, okay, first throne, like I said, there

  95. are two worships. The first throne is also the pagan

  96. worship where they have the throne of oh you call

  97. it the throne for Zeus, okay, and you can go

  98. to that picture. Then the second one the altar, they

  99. call it the altar of Zeus. This is actually the

  100. actual museum, you know, the actual museum so it's so big, right,

  101. it's bigger than this place, you know, probably like double

  102. the size of this place. And it will have it's

  103. called the altar okay, where if you look at the

  104. science the engravings that are actually quite accurate. Okay, they're

  105. quite accurate. But this is in this replica. Okay, how

  106. they have the pillars. If you do look at the

  107. site of the drawings there these are all the different gods. Uh,

  108. they can have Athena and all sorts of things that

  109. she drew it there as well. But if you want

  110. to go and study, you can go online. There's plenty

  111. of study. But it's called the Altar of Zeus in

  112. the museum, very famous. And on this altar, and then

  113. there will be in amongst them there will be a

  114. big Texas barbecue. No ask you they but yes there

  115. is a big barbecue. It's called the Altar of Sacrifice,

  116. huge one. Okay. A lot of times. So what happens, Okay,

  117. we nowadays we go to gya grocer, we go grab well,

  118. we go to NSK we buy meat from them. By

  119. that time is different. All the meats. Most of the

  120. time in these places they come up to the altar

  121. for us. Okay, they can't. They bring it there, they

  122. offer to use the sometimes they will charboil it just

  123. for hygiene purposes, and then from the top they bring

  124. it down to the marketplace to be sold. Makes sense, Okay,

  125. they don't go to supermarket straight one. They will bring

  126. it there and bring it down first one. Okay. So

  127. a lot of times most of the meat are already

  128. offered to idols already most of the time ninety percent, okay,

  129. very rare. They have their meats. They are on their

  130. own one. Most of the time you will be brought up,

  131. offered and brought it down and then the rest or

  132. the people will actually buy from their party from there

  133. as well. And so if you can imagine that, if

  134. you want to be a Christian, to want to abstain

  135. from idle foods, you have a kind of a big problem, there,

  136. isn't it. Huh, kind of have a big problem. You

  137. struggle or to buy food, and you know, talk about food,

  138. whether you can eat food, offer to idol. Just to

  139. assure you you're actually in the Bible if you read

  140. the Book of First Corinthians. Paul actually addressed the issue

  141. with the believers as well, because people were like, should

  142. we eat, should we not eat? Should we eat from

  143. the altar? Or should we it from the marketplace? How

  144. are people who can eat with their conscience and not

  145. in the conscience. People were struggling it with a well,

  146. but why is it certain parts of the Bible says

  147. that eating is wrong? Why certain parts of the Bible

  148. say it's permissible. Which is right? Which is wrong? Anybody

  149. got any answer? You're like, no, no, it's a name. Okay,

  150. you want me to explain, You want me to explain

  151. a bit over them? Okay. Generally, if you look into

  152. First Corinthians, what Paul says. First of all, the first thing,

  153. there are no gods, only one God, our living God.

  154. There's a doctrine. Again, the doctrines know how the gods,

  155. if you offer the idult, they don't exist because they

  156. don't exist. You can say they worship demons and stuff

  157. like that. But all are there, no gods. There's only

  158. one true living God, and all the earth in its

  159. fullest belongs to the Lord. Okay have you heard this? Presto,

  160. The earth in its fullest belong to the Lord. Okay,

  161. So in a way that if you know in your conscience,

  162. in your understanding. So if you're understanding that comes down

  163. to your conscience. Doesn't mean you have understanding, means your

  164. conscience is clear. Now a lot of people can understand,

  165. but their conscience you struggle. So your understanding has to

  166. take time to trickle down to your conscience. That you

  167. eat with a clean conscience. You get mean, right, That's

  168. why it takes time. Okay, So Paul, his understanding has

  169. also cleared his conscience. Say, I can eat and I

  170. know this offer food offered to idolts. I'm not sinning

  171. because they don't exist. So they're understanding and their conscience

  172. is ready to partake in there as well. Now, most

  173. of the time this pols is partaking of the food

  174. in the marketplace because food from the altar coming down,

  175. you're not partaking in the worship. But if you eat

  176. of the food, you bring the food to the alter

  177. and you eat of it. It is not just about

  178. the food. It's about the act of worship that you

  179. abstain from. Makes sense or not. You don't partake in

  180. the worship, makes sense or not. It's that you bring

  181. you you kill. You don't bring it to the alto

  182. af already. But if you buy it go to the

  183. if you got if you go to NSK right now,

  184. you go to a gig grocer. I don't know what

  185. they did. Maybe they do certain things, but no, as

  186. long as I give grace to the law, I don't

  187. need to know everything is of the lot. My conscience

  188. is clear. I don't partake in what you do. My

  189. conscience is clear, makes sense or not. So there's a

  190. difference partaking of the food on the alter and on

  191. the marketplace. So the Christians, when you go and buy,

  192. you don't need to party in that. You don't need

  193. to know what this ilies as well. Your conscience is clear.

  194. But what the Bible says. Yeah, when you go to

  195. the altar, you bring the food. You're in it that

  196. right from there, you're not just eating, you're partaking in

  197. the act of worship. Makes sense or not. There's a

  198. different one, and not buying food and act of worship

  199. is very very different as well. Makes sense. So that's

  200. why we don't ask you to go and do all this.

  201. You know, traditional ancestral worship. You got to be very

  202. careful because it's not just about all. It doesn't say no,

  203. it's an act of worship. Okay, you buy the food.

  204. Do you know where they come from? Maybe halfway the

  205. truck feller chant something? Do you know? You know? You

  206. don't know, You don't partake in it. But your conscience

  207. is clean. That's what you eat, You give thanks, you get,

  208. you give grace. It's the Lord bless the food, sanctify

  209. onto our body, because it is your name that sanctisfies it.

  210. Not us, but it's your name. That's why our conscience

  211. is clear. Makes sense or not. But there are those

  212. who Christians who come, They when they look at their food,

  213. they are not ready yet pauses. In that case, love

  214. is higher. You get me right, So when we conduct

  215. ourselves there is conscious there is understanding, but love goes higher.

  216. So when you eat, it's not about whether I can

  217. eat or not. It's not about hey, if I eat,

  218. will my brothers stumble because their understanding has not trickled

  219. down to their conscience yet you get what I'm saying that,

  220. So I rather I don't eat, so that they are

  221. ready they don't stumble. So in this matter, it's not

  222. about my right, it's about others. So in your act

  223. of not eating, it's not about whether it's right or wrong.

  224. Your act of not eating. It's about serving others. Makes sense,

  225. makes sense or not? It's about love. Okay. It's like

  226. I go to a restaurants. My children cannot eat spicy food.

  227. I can eat spicy, but I die that and order

  228. everything spicy? Is it? Then my children you just suffer.

  229. You can just eat it is everybody getting one you can't.

  230. Then after day they're like, I don't want to go

  231. to any restaurant anymore. You know what I mean. I'm saying.

  232. So it's not about my ride, but what I like

  233. to eat is about serving my kids, my kids. You know,

  234. I eat the children's meal. You're like, oh, such a

  235. nice oh see the my best somebow ever. But then

  236. my children's daddy, I want pizza. I'm like, seriously, I

  237. want pizza with pineapple. The horror, the horror. It's like, oh,

  238. at least all there some Italian pizza or all the

  239. pizza with pineapple. Oh it's okay any Italians? Yeah, No,

  240. you don't saying what I'm saying. It's out of love,

  241. you know, it's not about why we act out of

  242. there as well. Okay, so that's about food. But if

  243. you want, I highly encourage to go and study about

  244. it as well. Uh you know, First Corinthians. I think

  245. it's First Corinthians nine, I think mistaken. Okay. So, uh so,

  246. if you want to talk about where Satan's throne is,

  247. there is there. And then they also there's an imperial worship.

  248. I think that at that time the emperor was Tragian

  249. or something, Okay, Trajan Trajan. Okay, so the worship, but

  250. I'm not going to focus too much on that today, okay,

  251. But I'm gonna focus here on the next few verses.

  252. And he says, here and you hold fast to my

  253. name from verse thirty, and did not deny my faith

  254. even in the days in which Antipass was my faithful martyr. Okay,

  255. Antipass was one of the martyrs. Well, he's if you

  256. want to know how he died, it's a very horrible way,

  257. which I won't do it here because of children, but

  258. you're going if you want to go and read it

  259. a very horrible way, okay. But it says there even

  260. though they were faithful, even though they were suffering in

  261. a very difficult and deceitful evil place. In verse fourteen,

  262. Jesus has a warning to them. They say it verse

  263. fourteen I have a few things against you, because you

  264. have there those who hold to the doctrine of Balem,

  265. who taught Ballock how to put a stumbling block before

  266. the children of Israel, to eat things, sacrifice to idols,

  267. and to commit sexual immorality. So this is where I'm

  268. going to focus on. I want to focus on Baylem. Hey,

  269. you know about the history about Bayleim. How many of

  270. you know the story of Bailim? Yes, hands up, quickly,

  271. hands up? Okay. For those who don't know, okay, you

  272. can go and read in the Book of Numbers. Okay.

  273. So this Balem was a very powerful prophet. Hey, not

  274. all prophets are mentioned in the Bible, Okay, not all.

  275. But outside of the Bible, we can clearly see that

  276. there are incidences where a few characters are called in.

  277. You don't see the Book of Bailim. Okay, there are

  278. other prophets there as well. Even in the time of

  279. Pall there were virgins who were actually profits as well. Okay,

  280. So doesn't mean that you're a prophet you must have

  281. a book. Okay. So this is one instance. We know

  282. that even if you're a prophet, you might not have

  283. a book. So God has ordained certain prophets to have

  284. the authority to write scripture and whatever it is to

  285. be canonized as well. But clearly Balem is recognized here

  286. because he's not not only recognizing in the Book of Numbers,

  287. but in later parts in I think in the Book

  288. of Peter and the Book of Revelations. So powerful this

  289. guy so important. His lesson is that he was mentioned.

  290. But what did he do so he came? He existed

  291. during the time of Moses. Okay, the people, okay of

  292. Israel were in the wilderness and the king the Ballack.

  293. There's this guy called Balack okay Bala, who is the

  294. king of Moab. He was very fearful of the Israelites, Okay,

  295. because the Israelites were like that. Neither sad. No, they

  296. describe them as cows. You know why. They describe them

  297. as cows, not just one cow, but many cows who

  298. come to a field and just lick up all the

  299. grass and then they move on to they lick up everything.

  300. That's how they describe the Israelites, like cows licking up

  301. the grass. There's so many of them and they and

  302. they were just staying quite near by them, and every

  303. day the inhabitants of were filled with dread, okay, just

  304. filled with so much dread. And as he feared, Ballack feared,

  305. he sought to weaken them. Okay, he said, Oh, many

  306. people have fought against them and they lost. There must

  307. be a better way. So what did they do? He

  308. went to find this guy, a renowned prophet and diviner okay,

  309. called baalem To want to curse the Israelites. Okay, but

  310. before so he so Ballack sent emissaries, you know, people

  311. of renowned prince and princesses, you know, to go. You know,

  312. it makes a different one and know you instill just

  313. get an email. But if there is an envoyur an

  314. entourage that comes and meet you and hey, say tim,

  315. you know, suddenly you see outside there ten mercedic s

  316. class coming to your front door, rolling out the red carpet,

  317. bringing you gifts. You know, not just one two free

  318. endless gives. You know this spend happen hour just shaking

  319. hand and then give culling up in your house and

  320. all they show you the glory, you know, the you

  321. know it's like, oh, I've never seen my fridge so

  322. full before that, just pumping up, you know, so many things,

  323. and then said, hey, greet things from b Luck okay,

  324. from the morbides. Okay, we have heard of your tales,

  325. we have heard of your exploits and power that whatever

  326. that you speak, God hears and God will ordain as well.

  327. There's power. Why don't you come? You know, see all

  328. these rewards and there will be more if you will

  329. follow us, and you will and what you call it

  330. and treat us with your favor. Okay, he said, shure.

  331. But before he did, they did that. But but Baylim

  332. actually had a dream, God actually appeared to him saying

  333. that you will not follow them. Okay. But then Bayleem,

  334. first of all he said, ah, I will not go

  335. as much as you give me as well, all these

  336. things I cannot. I cannot go with you because I

  337. know what you want to do. But despite if you

  338. read the Book of Numbers, are despite all Baylim saying

  339. all the right things, all the right words, right, you

  340. know that there's a hidden agenda okay, And that's why

  341. sometimes even in the scripture is not said. But even

  342. the people like Peter and Paul, and especially the rabbis,

  343. you know, the Jewish, they know what Baylim actually did.

  344. His words betray him because he actually betrayed the people

  345. of Israel. Okay, so Ballad was actually offering what enticing

  346. Baylum with one money okay, enticing with a lot and

  347. a lot of money to come and to curse the Israelites. Okay.

  348. So Baylim consulted with God, who told him not to

  349. go and not to curse Israel because Israel God's chosen people. Wow,

  350. very very important. So there's first attemn, second attem, and

  351. even there's one incident where the angel and you know

  352. where the Baylim had had an incident with the donkey.

  353. You know, so they came into a ravine. You know,

  354. the donkey would not pass and go and hit the fella.

  355. Wait until the donkey turned around became Shrek you know donkey.

  356. You know, the donkey start speaking. You know, oh my goodness,

  357. this is not Pixar animation. You know, the donkey actually speaks.

  358. And then suddenly God opens his eyes and realized that

  359. what the donkey was speaking is true. There's actually the

  360. Angel of the Lord with the sword drawn in front

  361. of the donkey. If he passed, he would have been dead.

  362. So the donkey saved Baalim. Donkey say Baylim, the Angel

  363. a lot of toy. Did you realize your donkey just

  364. saved you? Don't You just saved you? And there's the

  365. Angel of the Lord. He fell flat down. Okay, So Baylim,

  366. it's not like to say he's a powerful, powerful and

  367. anointed person, but also have powerful encounters with God and

  368. God warning you and then God appearing to almost kill you.

  369. You have speaking donkey, or how much more do you

  370. need in your life? Huh? You're signs from God? What

  371. other signs you need from God? Huh? Speaking donkey? Huh?

  372. Angel of the Lord? What more signs do you want?

  373. He had everything, you know, all these things that they

  374. will qualify him as a very powerful or at least

  375. as someone that got used powerfully. Okay, So I think

  376. there's four times. Okay, I think it's four times. He

  377. tried to, you know, but Lad tried to get Baylim

  378. to curse, but every time he couldn't do it. He said,

  379. no matter what much money you gave me, I couldn't

  380. do it. But yet, if you read in numbers a

  381. few chapters later, numbers thirty one, okay, thirty one, I

  382. think it's thirty one, you will realize there's something happened

  383. to the Israelites. The Israelite started what marrying the moral

  384. black women, marrying them and taking on their gods especially

  385. they are pagan idols, all the bales and all this

  386. worship into among them as well. And then all that

  387. and God became so furious and twenty four thousand people

  388. were judged and killed. Okay, twenty four thousand people and

  389. judge were killed. And then eventually she reviewed these were

  390. the people who were not These people were actually trapped

  391. or at least atlisa what do you call it? Part

  392. of They died because of judgement because of what Balem did. Okay,

  393. So Baalim couldn't directly curse the Israelites. God said no,

  394. So he said, if I do, I'll die. Baylim also

  395. practical guy, Okay, if I do this, I'll die. So

  396. what did he do? So instead of cursing the Israelites

  397. what you bade them? Do? He get the Israelites to

  398. curse themselves. Oh, Julia, if I can't curse you, I

  399. get you to curse yourselves. How many if you were

  400. to curse yourselves, you don't know that. If I can't

  401. curse you, I will get you to curse yourselves. This

  402. is what the devil does in gay turn to your neighbor.

  403. Please don't curse yourselves, and please don't curse anyone else. Okay,

  404. Please don't curse anyone, not yourself, not anyone. Please don't

  405. do Okay. So the devil works by getting you to

  406. curse yourself. Wow, how do I actually get to curse myself?

  407. By enticing you to do the things that you like,

  408. that follows your flesh, and that is contrary to God's commandment? Okay,

  409. So that's how you curse yourself. That's why you get me.

  410. God doesn't have to do anything to you. Want to know,

  411. a lot of times you say, oh, God is judging me.

  412. God doesn't have to do anything to you. You know,

  413. judgment happens when God releases his hand upon you. It's

  414. like if you're gonna fall down from there and God

  415. is holding you. Don't fall down. But they said you

  416. keep wanting to go to the God. God's judgment is basically,

  417. you want your way. I'm just gonna real let go.

  418. Gravity will do its work. You don't say what I'm saying. Ah,

  419. God doesn't have to do it, push you anything, one

  420. and all the day and the day you disbelieve that

  421. disbelief is your judgment. Ready, Yeah, I mean right, disbelief

  422. itself is already judgment. That's what Jesus said to the Pharisees. No, you,

  423. the fact that you disbelieve that is already judgment. Let go.

  424. I'm trying to speak to you, trying to talk to you,

  425. trying to hold you. But you say, if you don't

  426. want so when I let go, that disbelief is your judgment.

  427. So scary, isn't it. God doesn't have to do anything,

  428. you know. But the Israelites were deceive by the evil

  429. one again. So Baalem, his love for money was so

  430. all great, okay, his eyes and everything was so I

  431. think the kings they probably knew what Bayleem's weakness were.

  432. I don't think it was a coincidence. You know, they

  433. didn't bring women or they brought money. You know, he

  434. didn't bring foolhood. They knew what he wanted. They must

  435. have done their research already. They knew what he wanted,

  436. what he liked, but he couldn't do it. But he

  437. went the other way. So the doctrine of Bayleem is

  438. about what the doctrine of Bayleem. It's about enticing and

  439. getting purpelled to curse themselves. Happens to Christians can happen

  440. to a church and it's happening break privately at their time,

  441. and so what happens? How do you what are some

  442. of the examples of Christians or churches, uh, deceiving themselves

  443. into a faith and a belief that it's not like

  444. what God wanted at all? You know what I'm saying. No,

  445. you're saying, I trust, trust me out. We can be

  446. like Baylor man anointed encounter with God Ah, but yet

  447. still deceived and curse you. Baylor must cursed, and he

  448. cursed the people as well. Both for Cus, you know,

  449. I see what I'm saying. Both for Cus Bayleem was

  450. cursed because he loved the world, not because of his

  451. anointings from God. He was cursed because he loved money,

  452. and out of his love for money, he cursed he

  453. and he cursed like he got. He tricked the israet

  454. to curse themselves. So because now that is rest love,

  455. the women love their gods. So both were a cursed Okay,

  456. very very dangerous everybody. Okay, so far makes it make

  457. make a lot of sense or not. Okay, So how

  458. do we go about protecting ourselves so that we don't

  459. become like Bayleorm or be affecting other people to curse

  460. themselves as well, don't become a victim or become a

  461. back Baylem. Okay, So what are some of the things

  462. that we need to be careful of? Okay? Second Peter,

  463. Chapter two, verse fifteen. Okay. Second Peter, Chapter two, verse fifteen. Okay.

  464. The apostle Peter talks about Baylem as well. Second Peter

  465. two fifteen says they have forsaken the right way and

  466. gone astray, following the way of Bayleem, the son of Beor,

  467. who loved the wages of unrighteousness, but he was rebuilt

  468. for his iniquity. A dumb donkey speaking with a man's

  469. voice restrained the madness of the prophet. Wow, call him

  470. a mad man, you know, crazy? Okay, So let's talk

  471. about some of the ways that Christians tend to compromise.

  472. You see, the people at Pergamos that don't have it easy,

  473. what they have is actually very pure. I think whether

  474. they eat or don't eat, the conscience, really they want

  475. to keep themselves pure. You see her. It's not easy

  476. enough to be like someone like you're staying in programon.

  477. If you're a Jill, if you went to Jerusalem, you

  478. travel like hundreds of a mile down to Jerusalem to

  479. worship at the Temple, and then suddenly there as you

  480. travel with your family, you met this guy Jesus, who

  481. were feeding the five thousand, who were healing. And then

  482. after that you heard that he died and rose up

  483. three days later, and you're like, wow, this is amazing.

  484. I believe, and I've seen the apostles work. But now

  485. I have to go back to my hometown. I have

  486. to travel back hundreds of miles back northward, and I

  487. come to this place. Got Jesus or not, got apartls

  488. or not. It's just me and surrounded by pagan worship.

  489. Some of you you know what I'm talking about. Some

  490. of you are students. Maybe you come from some place,

  491. from your family or from your environment. Wow, such a

  492. nice place exchange were people of faith and worship and

  493. home saying, you know, it's a nice surrounded the other day.

  494. Holiday time come you go back to your hometown. Wow,

  495. it's just everything is so different. I don't belong here,

  496. you know, It's like, oh, I wish I could be

  497. back here. Well we you know, we appreciate the affection,

  498. you know. But if God calls you back, if God

  499. places you in a place like program On where sometimes

  500. it mean tough. You are there for a purperson a

  501. reason when you know it doesn't mean that you must

  502. always stay in the church or stay in Jerusalem on it. No,

  503. God scatters wanted, not scattered, so that you can build

  504. a church wherever you are. That's why we believe in

  505. church planting. You know, if everybody, I just all our

  506. militia said we don't want we just want to come

  507. back to Subang or coming to bj only how they

  508. cannot think church beyond outside a single location. They cannot

  509. think of a God's glory in their home places or

  510. in their hometown as well. So imagine met with me,

  511. this person coming back. Everything it all sacrifice to I

  512. want to open up a shot, want to buy a land,

  513. I want to do anything. I want to get married

  514. or so difficult. Everything is about idle. Worship's struggling you all. No,

  515. maybe a while, maybe you find one rare Christian you know,

  516. who actually believe, But most of the rest of the people,

  517. who they look at you. They look at you as

  518. someone who is weird and someone who maybe occurs to

  519. the society because you have such a different belief. Okay,

  520. afterward it gets one It gets tiring, isn't it. It

  521. gets tiring. You know, I want to eat meat. I

  522. don't want to just eat it. I want to eat meat.

  523. I want to be able to walk anywhere I want.

  524. I want to do anything I want. I want to travel,

  525. I want to You see, it gets tiring. And after

  526. a while, when not being a Christian, you know, some

  527. people say being a Christian, you know, I want my

  528. Sundays to be free, so difficult. Yeah, no, I want

  529. to serve, but I serve or so I have to

  530. go to a certain meeting or so and not so

  531. difficult hiring, you know, and you think, whatever you're experiencing

  532. it now, it's just this church or here onia. I

  533. tell you it's been from the very beginning of time people,

  534. from the very beginning of time. No differently all I

  535. tell you it was more and all. You actually go

  536. back every day Father's parents. If you're tired of you

  537. go beck, how you need to teach again? You know,

  538. they say that you're supposed to teach a children the

  539. ways of the Lord. So, father's every morning before you

  540. make breakfast, you're supposed to teach your children at the

  541. commandments of the Lord. Now, ah, God, such a thing

  542. I cannot outsource our tuition can ah? Ah kids? It kids,

  543. is not done by church one and all. Your family

  544. is supposed to teach one. Now that's how did you

  545. know that the Israelites were one of the most literate

  546. people in the ancient times. One of the most literate

  547. people became because you are forced to know the law

  548. and to know the worship and to teach it to

  549. your children. So it's like not like Falstaff, but okay,

  550. national education among the family members who give me. Everybody learned.

  551. And even in the times of the Reformation, what did

  552. they do. Worship wasn't music. Worship was about lyrics and

  553. all they taught. People didn't want to come for Bible studies.

  554. People didn't want to comfort sermons. You know, all the

  555. people were just so tired. So what did they do.

  556. They put teaching into songs. That's why when you look

  557. in the hymns are and why the hymnsa got one stanza, two, three, four,

  558. four verses And if you read the verses. You realize

  559. it about creation, It's about say, it's about God's saving,

  560. It's about the return of Christ. You know why they

  561. were putting doctrine into worship so that people will not

  562. doctrin and teach their children. Oh I didn't know that. Yes,

  563. they will get them people to learn English and to

  564. learn the Bible by worship. It's not about you know

  565. what song are you playing today? Tickle me a bit,

  566. you know, no, completely different people. That's how we arrived

  567. people here, you know, we didn't. They didn't just float

  568. in a Christianity didn't just float here, you know. Okay,

  569. it was intentional, Okay, So I was I talking about.

  570. That's my train authority Okay, compromising okay, getting tired being

  571. excluded from so many things, missing out, having to live differently, okay.

  572. And so the temptation is what is what we call

  573. this this famous what it's called syncretism. You can write

  574. now syncretism, very famous for syncretism. What the syncretism means,

  575. it's the same meaning as assimilation, synchronizing yourself with the world.

  576. Don't be so different now, I know, you know, stay

  577. a bit, not enough data, so I steal your WiFi,

  578. you know data, you know, plug into the WiFi. I

  579. don't want to miss out. Gotta plug into the WiFi

  580. of the world. Okay, synchronize yourself maybe something you try

  581. to you know, it's not so wrong, you know, Okay,

  582. maybe you know, we do a lot of things, you know,

  583. you know, trying to know what the world is changing.

  584. You realize that the world is changing, well is changing,

  585. and we try to adore, you know, trying to change,

  586. you know, like, for one example, I told you, I

  587. told you about the worshiper. Worshiper. Yeah, talk about all

  588. this verse just one keyboard, very difficult. We need to

  589. play something maybe a bit more relevant. Now. Why don't

  590. we much coplay and worship? Yeah, you know, it's like

  591. cool man, she was like co play, you know. It's like,

  592. you know, maybe we'll go Bruno Mars. You know that,

  593. didn't you know, I don't know. Oh, it's sports season.

  594. Maybe we put together with sports. It's hey, God, good leadership.

  595. You all talks and let's put it together and stuff

  596. like that. Oh, go nice stadium, let's do nice stadium.

  597. We're synchronizing with the world, synchronizing, Okay, So we synchronize

  598. with what the world, and we reduce and reduce, continue

  599. to discount and stay relevant until we come back to

  600. the whole. You come back to your house, you don't

  601. even recognize the house anymore. Peper will say that recently.

  602. I don't want to say who is it, but it's

  603. a very famous religious person sadly says that every road

  604. leads to God. Every road leads to God. Doesn't metal

  605. your phone? This, pay this, fay this, pay this, face

  606. this way. Everyone needs to God. Why why he will will? Oh?

  607. Such a person say that because syncritisma inclusive, Corona sounds

  608. very inclusive, sounds very powerful. You know, it's like John Lennon,

  609. imagine all the people leaving the world in peace. Oh love,

  610. oh so much love, seventies love. You know, yeah you

  611. want seventies love? You want? Sure not it's the world peace? Yeah, peace,

  612. everybody's peace. Everybody shouting for peace. You know. But by

  613. doing that you connect and trying to so much be

  614. like the world. People have not recognize what is Christianity.

  615. It's just another religion. It's just another faith. It's just

  616. another do good people. After that, people will see not

  617. just knowing your similarity, people will also see your words,

  618. You're just like any other cust just just want money.

  619. You're just like any other people who want to control people.

  620. You get I mean right, there's no more distinction between

  621. the church and the government. There's no more distinction than

  622. the church and the world anymore. So though you get

  623. the good and you also get their bad as well. Ah,

  624. you see what I'm saying now, there's no difference anymore anymore. Okay,

  625. I actually have a slide but about the different gods.

  626. But because of time, maybe one day I will talk

  627. about it. La if you're because it really burns me up,

  628. because people always say they're all paths lead to God.

  629. It doesn't make sense people, It's illogical. It's illogical. It's

  630. like saying every Android machine is the same as Apple.

  631. It doesn't work, people, it doesn't work. Did I go

  632. into the airport and you say that every plane goes

  633. to the same place. No, doesn't mean he has two wings, Okay,

  634. doesn't mean he has an energy. It goes to the

  635. same location. It doesn't make sense. Okay, but I will

  636. talk about it another time. Areas will be compromise as

  637. hydrocor close values and moral standards. We compromise on our money.

  638. Of course, this is like baylorm sex have sex places

  639. in a role in our community, in our society. Hey,

  640. gender fluidity, like I mentioned before to you before, can

  641. be identify yourself as the right pronouns so that you

  642. don't offend people, because in your offend people, you will

  643. ruin their life and they will blame you for the

  644. rest of their life as well. Okay. If that is

  645. the case, then we don't. We can't have education then,

  646. because everything in education is offensive. Okay. Relationships okay, people

  647. will want to debate can be unequally your I like

  648. the girl first, I like the guy first, A merry first,

  649. then after that we convert the person. It doesn't work

  650. their way, people, it doesn't work that way. Okay, I

  651. don't have time now, but I will addressing it at

  652. our time. Okay. Drinking people, this one, this one very

  653. very very very very very dangerous. Oh drinking. Churches can drink,

  654. they can drink. I saw pastors drink. This man drink.

  655. It's a law. If I drink already, you know, well

  656. the church leader look at me differently and stuff like that. Okay,

  657. this is your own conscience. Okay, but if you look

  658. at the book of proverbs. Are you look in the

  659. Book of soundsa especially the Book of problems are Tell

  660. me how many times the word drunkeness come up? Tell

  661. me doesn't have have a so much problem. I'm not

  662. saying that it's drinking. It is wrong. People say that, Oh,

  663. but Jesus drink turned water into wine as well. Immediately

  664. be green light. Yeah, a lot of things that are

  665. permissible but not actually good for you. You don't say

  666. how I'm saying. You know. You tell me one person

  667. who doesn't drink, who actually really are in danger very rarely.

  668. You know, if you don't smoke, you really get into danger.

  669. You don't gamble, you really get into danger. I'm not

  670. saying you're perfect, but you cut yourself off from a

  671. lot more risks if you drink. I'm not saying that

  672. you want drink for a special occasion good, But when

  673. you play with fire, What if you suddenly love drinking?

  674. What if your small occasions becomes general occasions. What if

  675. one day one go break up with you and the

  676. only comfort that you have is just drinking. You see,

  677. something can be so insignifi can be played a big

  678. part of your life because you allowed it. You can

  679. I'm saying, you know, it seems hamless, but it's not

  680. about them. It's about you. You become weak. That's the problem.

  681. That's the problem I have with my kids. If they drink,

  682. Say no, you cannot. It's very hard for you to

  683. watch over yourself. And with the moment you get into

  684. that problem, it's very hard to come out you. I'm

  685. saying no. So when we tell people, it's not just

  686. like on a country no no, no, no no. Do

  687. you know how many times the Bible is warning about

  688. drunkenness or not. The Bible calls it's them full, you know, literally,

  689. you know, fool. Okay, So I'm not saying that you're not.

  690. You want to argue with me. If I myself, I

  691. don't drink. I don't really enjoy drinking. I get allergies

  692. when I drink. As well. You want to drink, it's fine,

  693. but really be very very careful. A lot of times

  694. some things you learn to cut off. Some things you

  695. just nah, don't really need to. Some things you say

  696. when you go to offices, hey, just drinking, you know, casual,

  697. because if I don't drink, I'm cutting off from the world.

  698. Because my bosses they spend hundreds of dollars drinking ten

  699. o'clock eleven o'clock. And that's where all the cafes make

  700. the money. You know, from alcohol. One they won't make money.

  701. You wait, hey, some of the shops that open solid

  702. because they make money from their alcohol. They make so

  703. much money some people. One bill can be five hundred,

  704. one thousand to a few hundred dollars, a few thousand

  705. dollars just on on these things. They make a lot

  706. of money. And your business opportunity, opportunity, your promotions, your

  707. business expansion can come from there as well. But what

  708. are you going to compromise? Do you want to get

  709. into a position where you curse yourselves? Getting right, God,

  710. it's not going to cust you, But you don't want

  711. to put yourself in a place where you curse your selves. Okay,

  712. I know I'm not saying it because I'm a pastor.

  713. I'm saying because I have personal family members who struggle

  714. with this personal I know people directly, my family and

  715. my friends who struggle with this one. Okay, other parts

  716. your devotion spending less time in prayer and devotion, but

  717. you're spending more time in building your dream and your

  718. kingdom and your house, that's your You can see. We

  719. have godly devotion now, which is focusing on God, but

  720. we have also carnal devotion where we focus How many

  721. of you when you drive, are you want to dream about?

  722. What's the next big car? You want to drive? What's

  723. a nice house? Is? What next new revenervation? Where do

  724. you want to go traveling? Every time we go into

  725. TikTok and lert, it's the time is devotion with the world.

  726. You don't realize that we spend devotion with the world

  727. and not before you step in mass no instagram wuld

  728. be devotion to the world spending if the devotion we

  729. will spend with the world will be put into God.

  730. How much more difference, isn't it? Huh what does Jesus

  731. look like instead of like what does other people look like? Huh?

  732. So different? Now let's look at one last chart there

  733. I have here the last chart that has is about

  734. why Christians have become I call one group of people

  735. or where I used to be like actually identify me

  736. and my younger self as a believer who is entertainment

  737. and romance driven. That used to be myself, But now

  738. I'm finding myself that I need to be. I'm not there,

  739. but I need to be more discipleship focused and spiritually

  740. aground the Christian. Let's look at let's look at some

  741. of this difference. What is an entertainment and romance driven

  742. Christian that's like the world? Okay, flashy emotional services. Hey,

  743. come to one church and let me take my time.

  744. I want to visit different churches first after a few years. Okay,

  745. I understand. Okay, if you just come back or you

  746. just become a believer, you want to find a place

  747. to But understand, I'm not saying wrong, but you continue

  748. doing that for a year, two year, five year tenure,

  749. still visiting churches, still checking around, still comparing, still cannot

  750. set thing now, Hey this one or this this one?

  751. God that comparing. It's like you you keep adding to

  752. your cart up, but you can never purchase something. Okay,

  753. you're your car, it's got like twenty items there. You

  754. know what are you waiting for a great discount? You're

  755. waiting for the church to discount, give you a discount?

  756. Is it waiting for God to give you a discount?

  757. Is it? Why is a discount? Give you a good blessing? Wow?

  758. I went to this service at that time, this pastor

  759. said this prayer at this moment, at this seat, and

  760. I got your promotion. That was a discount and blessing

  761. you were looking for all this time. But if you

  762. know you're still looking around, you know I don't get

  763. a feeling flashily emotional. It was a time where I

  764. have the most memories and stuff that hey, I'm not

  765. saying one. I was like that. I was like that.

  766. I honestly tell you. When I came out, I was

  767. like that, I want to go to the WHOA hear

  768. this and there I want to go. I want to

  769. go to big conference. I want to go to great pastors.

  770. I tell you, WHOA. This worship was so annointed, and

  771. all I tell you, remember this one sort annoying. I

  772. want to visiting more. I've been there before. Okay, I

  773. look at myself as I've been there before. But now

  774. I tell you, even if the worship has no music,

  775. I was you stay. I went to Baro. I tell you,

  776. not a single except for the main service and all

  777. the house worship with it. Ninety percent of time, not

  778. a single instrument played, not a single lyric was put on,

  779. and everybody memorized the lyrics. They just walk into a house.

  780. Homes Hey, abakaba, how are you? You know? You any prainny? Okay,

  781. before we do, let's sing song Halle Lou. Yeah, you know,

  782. Blessed the Shore. I tell you we did that one

  783. day at like almost fifteen twenty times, you know, every

  784. different houses, everybody there after that. Then the mother was cooking.

  785. Halfway He's like, okay, come, let's sing together, less the Shore.

  786. These ties like that, you know what I mean. Right,

  787. It's just like that pleasure around Jesus. We went to

  788. the school assembly, no roof, hot sun, ten o'clock in

  789. the morning. Okay. I was like, oh, what are you

  790. gonna do? Worship? Okay everybody? No, there is no project

  791. or no book, nothing, just in there. Jesus lost me

  792. and they were singing with their hearts and the hard crying.

  793. Oh my goodness. It's like, you know, you know, it

  794. was like, wow, it's so reverent, nobody pulling and for

  795. nobody sipping their lattice and stuff like that. You know

  796. it's true. Yeah, man, it's just so reverent. It's just

  797. one gone you get, I mean right, so you know

  798. it's I'm not about whatship being about expressing my feeling.

  799. Or yesterday I listened to the best heal song was

  800. so good. I pray this what she neither will pray

  801. this song? You know, if i'm if, i'm if I'm

  802. worship leading, if I'm praying, I pray that the church

  803. would choose this song and all. If they don't choose this,

  804. how what kind of theology the believing? Cannot they understand

  805. the power of the song. Why they haven't sounded this

  806. song already introduced five years ago, we're still not singing

  807. this church? Not relevant? I tell you the church I

  808. went to send the song on twenty thirty years ago,

  809. and on not changing God steal worker, God steal work,

  810. Bible study, minimal engagement. Wow, what you're looking for inspirational talk?

  811. I don't know who you're looking for. Ah, I a

  812. church message? What point I am most of the time.

  813. I just go a toilet when I go home. Hey,

  814. I want to choose different pastor I want a black

  815. pastor this one it's oh, very good, this one twenty

  816. minutes on it or even better still or no, you're

  817. not just it. I want two times to speak to

  818. see by the time I get home. I already finish

  819. two sermons. Ready see better still, But instead of doing that,

  820. instead of asking people to preach to you, Okay, that's

  821. my cue. Ready, we need deep study. Thank you for

  822. the inspirational moments. I will I will report that I'm

  823. get too excited. Don't worry, okay. Instead of asking the

  824. speakers to speak to me, I want to allow the

  825. Bible to speak to me. You know what I mean? Right,

  826. focusing on someone to speak to me, I'm gonna go

  827. into devotion and let the word speak to me. Whatever

  828. I received from the change, it's beautiful, doesn't matter it

  829. preached ten times, twenty times, three times. It's pure beautiful

  830. faith experience. You seek feel good emotions. Oh my faith

  831. grows when I feel good, when I feel like I

  832. don't when I feel like going to church. That's where

  833. my faith grows. When i'm my faith the reasult. How

  834. I know my faith grows is when I'm raising my

  835. hands aloud and oh no, my faith grows when I

  836. persevere through suffering and troals. You know I mean right,

  837. it's not your faith doesn't mean that when you come

  838. you feel like it. Your faith grows when you come

  839. when you don't feel like it. That's the evidence of faith.

  840. You can't mean right, it's like a it's like it's

  841. not when I compare this, I know I'm thinking of

  842. your time, but let me that it's like comparing a

  843. Christian or a young lover. You just want to date,

  844. but you don't want to get married. You know I'm

  845. saying no. You start off dating, going to movies, part

  846. tolling and all, do that some thing, but you never

  847. want to settle down. You never want commitment. You never

  848. you see a love. It's not about having all the

  849. movies and all love is about you still coming back

  850. home and attending to your wife and your children and

  851. your husband, be regardless how tough the day is. That's love.

  852. He came in. How many Christians nowadays we really want

  853. to get beyond the romancing and the dating with God

  854. and settling down and get married. God is not looking

  855. for a data, did not come for a day. You know.

  856. He gave his life for the bride and her. He's

  857. coming to stay and to live with you. Is a

  858. commitment and all that's what God wants, you know, And

  859. we have to manage the expectations and all. It's not

  860. for dating a it's really a marriage, you know, being

  861. identified as one with Christ. Your prayer life, sorry, community engagement.

  862. You attend if there's something for you, but then can

  863. you enjoy or not? But when you grow older, you

  864. attend because you serve others. How many of you like

  865. to go to kids birthday parties? How many do you

  866. want to go? Ten? Twenty a year? Afterward it gets

  867. tiring and oh, childrens are like swarming me up, I

  868. have to bring so many food? You get there for

  869. the kids? No, you go there because for your kids.

  870. You serve your kids, you serve other kids, true or not?

  871. How many birthday parties you want? It's not about you anymore,

  872. because that's what parent thing is about. It's not about you.

  873. It's about others. So it's Christian idea as well. Your

  874. tend not because about you, it's about others. Your attendance

  875. matters to everybody else, especially the older ones, especially younger ones.

  876. When you join, you make a difference. It's never about you,

  877. it's about others. Prayer life, you pray for personal desires,

  878. but your come to prayer service for what so that

  879. you pray for others. Prayer service is not about you

  880. and a prayer service about other people you know. You

  881. go to hospital, you think of sport. It's about you

  882. getting a medicine. You go to hospital because your love

  883. ones are there, You're your friends are there, they need

  884. prayer and you go there. View of love focused on romantic,

  885. fewl good feelings, but you realize that love is about sacrifice.

  886. When you're hurt, you still stay with your wife and

  887. your when your spouse, when they are not fully understood,

  888. when they misunderstand you, you still stay on and you

  889. continue to forgive. You continue to believe, even it may

  890. take a year, two years, five years. Sometimes you may

  891. never get the full understanding, but you stay on faithful

  892. commitment to grow six exciting experiences, install experiences, you pursue maturity,

  893. church involvement, find activities. But instead of find activities, what

  894. is for you? What you're really looking for is discipleship,

  895. not by me. What I need to give, what I

  896. need to surrender. And your view of suffering is not

  897. about avoiding. It's not about asking why. It's about King Lord,

  898. can I pass to the end Yemen? Right? It's not

  899. asking why, It's about how long can I sustain? Help

  900. me to go through it? You're used to it anymore.

  901. It's like if you've never been to Binanga actually to

  902. drive bin Nanga? How many hours? Three hours? The first time? That?

  903. How long? How long? How long? Oh dad did? How

  904. much longer? Some of you you've been to Pinan for

  905. many times, are like fifty times in your life? Right

  906. You're like, Okay, how can I stay a week? How

  907. can I get through this? Even if it's jam in Epo,

  908. even it's rainy, you ask yourself, how can I get

  909. through this? That's muh cho amen.

  910. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  914. A good week.

  915. I hit for you.

  916. God bless
