You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your team.
-
Let me share with you the title of the message today.
-
It is part two of the part one and you
-
want to hear what is part one? Go and listen
-
to the MPG. I will strongly encourage you to listen
-
to MPTG. But it's going to be part two of
-
always give only your best of God? Okay, and we're
-
gonna talk about the how today. How do you always
-
give only your best of God? And just a little
-
bit of introduction for those that may not be familiar.
-
So in ex Church and in different churches, we have
-
different expressions you know. Of course, all churches that are legit,
-
we believe in Jesus. We believe that he died for
-
since we believe that he's a son of God and
-
God send him here to redeem us.
-
Okay.
-
We believe in the Bible, the living Word of God.
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit, you know, that's what
-
we believe in certain called things. Of course, different churches
-
we have different expressions, different minor things, you know. As
-
you can see, I don't wear a rope here, I
-
don't have a staff you know, some to just practice that.
-
Nothing wrong with that is just the expression. Okay for
-
us as x and we started in two thousand, God
-
has given past the head of the man who had started,
-
who say yes to the Lord to start this church
-
and then with a bunch of young people join and
-
then start the young people.
-
Now we're already nobody laughing. Uh and uh and and
-
and and.
-
And God has been good okay, and the things that
-
God has given our church. And again it's all aligned
-
to the word of God. Okay, uh, you know, and
-
I'll talk about it a little bit. And as we
-
continue to multiply, and as the Lord continues to uh
-
you know, cause us to plant, you know, we shouldn't
-
lose the spirit of what the Lord has given to us, correct, right,
-
I mean, if you a very good example, but not
-
a nice example to use this McDonald's. Imagine you go
-
to the McDonald's, you know, the person who started the
-
McDonald's right after ten shops. Then it looks differently. Then
-
it looks different than don't call it McDonald's. Likewise, we
-
have alsoady saying sometimes in X rays we say, hey,
-
it looks a little bit different than don't call it
-
exl you know we're excenal yes and nolah. I'm house proud, okay,
-
because when you come here, the Lord has given us
-
certain things and and and it's unique to us. I
-
would say certain things, but then it is also something
-
that you can practice anywhere else because when the church
-
talks about stuff, we talk about your faith. Your catch
-
they are not and your faith talks about who you
-
believe in, what you believe in, what you practice. You
-
see where I'm going what you practice right. Ultimately, it
-
is about us following Jesus. Amen, only half of you
-
agree me. Ultimately it is about us following Jesus. It's
-
about us being disciples, meaning we need to look more
-
and more like Christ.
-
Imen.
-
And when I say that, I'm not saying we expect
-
all the women here to grow beards and start worrying white.
-
No, that's not why I'm saying.
-
But we should look like Christ in our spirit, in
-
our conduct, in what we believe in, in our convictions.
-
That's what we ultimately shu look like. So a good gauge.
-
Why sorry?
-
We like to challenge people, okay, because if you don't
-
have any challenge your life and you stay the same forever,
-
and then you look back ten years and you say,
-
where have I come?
-
You've not moved? Friends? Is life? You gotta move? Can
-
you move?
-
Or not? Can you not your neighbor and say you
-
gotta move? What you're not convinced? Don't be a pure warmer.
-
We're gonna pu here to warm only sets. Okay, So
-
always give only your best God, it is a value
-
that we believe in our church. Last the last time
-
I shed. If you're all perselves this from you know?
-
Is it bibigl Yes? I went extensively in explaining to
-
you why it is not just you know, nice to
-
hear things. It is not just a value. No, we
-
believe in it because it's from the Bible. Because we
-
love the Lord, our God, with all our heart, with
-
all our soul, with all our mind, with all our strength.
-
And when you love something or someone with everything, then
-
you give that person your best. Amen half again, only agree.
-
The rest is sleeping. Sorry, I'm on fire today, So
-
you respond or don't respond.
-
I'm not gonna care.
-
I'm just gonna preach it because yesterday I learned it
-
all though, that my job as a leader is to
-
just share and whether you receive it or not. It
-
is after the Holy Spirit. It's not my problem. So
-
I'm not gonna offend you. Don't worry. I'm just gonna
-
share what the Lord has praid on my heart so
-
that you catch it. Amen, hopefully you catch it. Don't
-
worry the ballom you throw so fast. Okay, So what
-
is the heart issue? What is the issue? Think about it.
-
It is a heart matter. It is always a heart matter.
-
When you read the scriptures, Jesus always addresses the heart.
-
He never addresses Oh you know you don't dress like that.
-
You don't, of course you come to church and hey,
-
why you talk about my dressinger. Well, where your heart is,
-
your action will follow. There's something you have to talk
-
about it. But we don't judge anybody here. But you
-
got to remember it is a hard issue. It is
-
not a law issue.
-
So don't be distracted, don't be offended thinking that is.
-
Oh, just just want me to be a goody goody,
-
goody goody friends. It is always, has always been a
-
hot issue because once you settle the heart, everything else
-
where easy on.
-
But the moment is not the moment.
-
The heart is not settled, then we will have people
-
get I don't want to describe after something you fear
-
talking about you where people always trying to fight, trying
-
to push, trying to judge, trying to friends. It has
-
always been a hard issue. It's always been a hard issue,
-
even for.
-
Me as well. Right.
-
Why is Pastor Elvin standing here preaching to you all?
-
Why am I trying my best to disciple people? Is
-
it just for my glory? It is just so the
-
XPJ can look good and look great. No, friends, I
-
want to follow Jesus. And if Jesus called me, if
-
the Lord has called me to do this, then I
-
will do it unto him with all my best, whether
-
you like me or not.
-
Because I'm not here the police man. I'm here to
-
please God.
-
And sometimes by pleasing God, men get offended sometimes, right,
-
And that's what I have to deal with. If you
-
think I like no, I don't like it. I don't
-
like it if people don't like me. But it's always
-
been a hard issue.
-
Friends.
-
Only God can save your soul, you know why, because
-
he's the one that made your soul.
-
You didn't make your own soul. I didn't make your soul.
-
The devil did. Of course.
-
No other men meet your soul. God made your soul
-
so only he can save your soul. No one else can. Right,
-
and his blueprint for our redemption plan has always been
-
to save our souls, to save us, and not our status,
-
not our belongings, material wealth, not our achievements, not things
-
that are temporal on this earth. I remember talking to
-
someone and I told this person, I said, you know, no,
-
suddenly now you are like into gym and doing all
-
these things. I told the person is I said, you know,
-
when you face death, you change a lot of things
-
in your life. You know, especially when you have something
-
to live for right when you face that. But when
-
you don't face theav a very easy, easy come, easy go.
-
But when you face death you tend to have you
-
tend to evaluate a lot of things.
-
I remember the first.
-
Time I had a brushweet death, not me, by a friend.
-
And this was a famous story in Klang. Three youths passed.
-
Away in KKB and one of it was not close
-
but kindergarten.
-
We know each other kindergarten. Somehow we still friends.
-
And I found out as a teen that the person
-
passed away right drowned. Try to save people, and I
-
went for the whake service and I saw his face
-
the same as on Why I tell you it was
-
super existential.
-
Man.
-
What I had to think about after that. When we
-
face death, a lot of things come into perspective. But
-
when you don't face death on a day, well you
-
don't face death then okay, La, you know we still
-
live that. I'm not just talking about dying for final ky.
-
So God's blueprint for a redemption plan has always been
-
to save our souls, and it's talking about we need
-
to happen renewed mind Romans twelve right, because we're living
-
in a natural world right, and we won't be able
-
to comprehend all these things with our own logic. Friends,
-
if you try to figure out or try to understand
-
how God works in your logic, you will fail. Trust me.
-
I have given up trying to understand. I have spent
-
more time trying to figure out the Bible and the
-
Word and what God means. Read and try and figureut
-
how God works. Oh why does this happen? Why does
-
that happen? Sometimes we don't know, we have no answer, right,
-
Oh why does this tragedy happen?
-
You know? I like how this pastor or online share it?
-
He said. I don't know. I'm not God. I don't know.
-
But let me tell you what I believe God has done.
-
Let me tell you how that tragedy has become a testimony.
-
Let me tell you how the thing that is suffering
-
has changed to hope, to love, to something that all
-
of us can only say. This has to be God
-
because naturally it will not happen, because normally it won't happen.
-
Are guys catching something? So we have to have a
-
renewed mind? Friends?
-
Can I challenge you to have a renewed mind? Can
-
I challenge you in twenty twenty five think about things differently?
-
If you've been thinking about church, God, life, your faith
-
the same all these past years, time to change your mind.
-
Yesterday and although I had a very good friend he
-
shed on stage, he said, two years, and I know
-
you very well. Two years he's been struggling, striving the
-
word right to accept different things because he was very
-
confident in different things. And God had to change his mind.
-
And he said, okay, God, since you you know, let
-
me let me allow you to mow me after that. Wow,
-
you look at him now, You'll be like for those
-
that know him will be like Wow. Yes, He's a
-
change man, right, Lisia, And God is working in his life.
-
Amazing.
-
This man once said I will never buy a house,
-
bought a house last year. This year, I'm like, wow, God,
-
you can change. Of course, I Enjoe and say maybe
-
one day he will have a child because there's something
-
he said he won't do as well.
-
I'm purposely saying this because I know he might listen
-
to it.
-
Hebrews eleven one to say is now, faith is a
-
substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not
-
seen for by it, the elders obtain a good testimony
-
by faith. We understand that the world's were framed by
-
the word of God, so that the things were which
-
are not seeing were not made of things which are visible.
-
This thing about faith is very interesting, friends, because it's illogical.
-
That's why you need faith to believe. Huh.
-
You mean, I can, you know, stretch out my hand
-
and pray for someone and just because the Bible say
-
by he strikes you are he he's hell?
-
Yeah?
-
Yeah, yeah, it's illogical. Yes, it is, because we worship
-
of God is supernatural. You mean, it's very logical for
-
you to pray for things from nothing come out something.
-
What does that tell your friends?
-
It tells you that you cannot use the logic of
-
this world to explain what the Lord has for your life.
-
You will struggle, you will strive. The more you try
-
to push God in a box, the more frustration you
-
will have. But the more you humble yourself and follow God,
-
he will reveal to you things that you do not know.
-
He has revealed to me so much in my own life,
-
how to work by faith, how to trust God, how
-
to do crazy things. Why Because I've seen it in
-
the lives of other people. I've seen it in testimonies
-
about how people believe in healing. And if I believe
-
in a God that is a god of the supernatural,
-
then I can believe in the same thing. It is
-
the evidence of what has been happening, not just hearsay.
-
That's why the encouragement from the stage is very simple.
-
Test God and see how good He is in your
-
life for yourself, because you cannot live on another person's testimony.
-
You can only live on your own testimony. And the
-
more you try and live on someone else's testimony, the
-
more you will discouraged engage God yourself. That's the wonderful
-
thing about our faith. Everybody here can engage God on yourself.
-
The only question is are we going to do it? Now?
-
Amen? And that's my introduction.
-
So friends, okay, I just a bit passionate, are you guys?
-
Okay? Okay? So I have fair friends. Don't try and
-
logify everything. Okay. So today we're going to talk about
-
how to give got our best? Right?
-
So I thought we'll start with the negative, okay, then
-
we go positive. So let me ask you a question.
-
What would stop us from giving got our best?
-
Okay?
-
And for fun, right, I'm just gonna ask differently here
-
what do you think will stop you from giving out
-
your best? Let's start with Daniel Wow, okay, not you
-
other people?
-
Out of people?
-
What what will stop you, know, that person from giving
-
their best? Just one word?
-
Uh?
-
One word? You don't know? Chasing after worldly things, chasing
-
after worlding things?
-
Okay, listing, complacent, complacent, complacency okay, says thinking I'm going
-
to leave alone.
-
I asked past, what will stop wiliness?
-
Worliness? Okay, okay, let me find another victim? Yeah, iran,
-
what will stop fear?
-
Fear? Okay? Nah? Let me come Millian now, minion.
-
What will stop people from giving their best to God? Yeah?
-
Fear?
-
Okay, Oh you're copying. Shut answer. Actually, there are a
-
lot of things are okay. They are a lot of things.
-
But I wrote down here five things are okay. Again,
-
this is not an exhaustive Lisa. If you understand what
-
they were. If you don't get what their woman is
-
going to ask your parents, gay, it's not Exhaustedly a
-
lot of things can stop you. But as I was
-
thinking and praying and thinking about it, I think some
-
of these things are quite common. And if you're not careful, friends,
-
can I say this? None of you here have ill intent?
-
Okay? No, you know what. The one thing I've learned.
-
Through my years of ministry and years of being a
-
human being on this earth, everybody has good in them.
-
Everybody has good in them. Everybody wants to be successful, everybody.
-
Everybody. When I say success, I'm not oh, you know
-
you want to get a goods?
-
No. No, everybody wants to do well. Everybody who wants to succeed,
-
like everybody. Nobody wants to fail. And nobody starts off
-
taking I'm starting to I'm starting so I can fail. No,
-
nobody everybody. That is my basis of looking at people. Now, however,
-
everybody got in my language, everybody got bad habits, everybody
-
got your own vices or so some people will say,
-
and that's life, and we want to encourage everybody to grow.
-
Amen, like you guys catch me.
-
So when we talk about things, don't think it as oh,
-
you know you're talking about me. No, no, no, no, we're
-
talking about your vices. We're talking about your bad habits.
-
We're not talking about you. You're a good person, right,
-
because if you're not good person, and then no point
-
talking to you, know, right. So, so don't get offenders
-
so fast. Cannot don't take offense so fast.
-
You know.
-
The one thing that you shouldn't take a lot is offense. Right,
-
it's very well suffering. One recently I had to counsel
-
someone right, took offense over something.
-
Three years.
-
Three years are same issue, you know, and then manifests
-
in different areas now and then I'm like, wow, he
-
just went back there from day one, and I'm like,
-
just forgive, la, just forgive. Thankfully it ended well. Now
-
the persons happy. You can see in the facer lifted.
-
So don't see me the offense. Gay, amen? So what
-
will stop us? Well, you might not like this word comfort.
-
We are creatures of comfort.
-
I too far? La, well, design I cannot before? Oh yeah,
-
too long?
-
Lah, it's too boring, not funny enough. No, No, this
-
doesn't suit me. No, it doesn't s it's not my thing. Okay,
-
comfort comfort, comfort can really mess us up.
-
You know.
-
I notice because IOSO have been there and the and
-
the thing about us is that we constantly look for comfort.
-
And it's fine, that's the way we are wired. But
-
we're talking about giving our best. I'm not saying comfort
-
is bad now, guys, I'm just saying what can stop you?
-
Because if that becomes god, if comfort becomes God, then
-
every single thing you do will be towards comfort. Get
-
what I mean. So I'm not talking about comfort bad. No, no, no, comfort,
-
it's actually good. Please wear comfortable clothes, stay in a
-
comfortable house, do all these things?
-
Right?
-
But but is it God? Is it the main? Do
-
you do you evaluate everything according to this? Because if
-
you do, it's very dangerous.
-
Not for me, no for you know. Okay, Well, the
-
next thing is I try and put everything in seas. Okay.
-
The next thing that can stop you? Is change more
-
like spare change?
-
Or?
-
Do I have lever?
-
You know you're not giving your best when you're just
-
looking for change, right, you're just looking for changes only.
-
I'm so busy ready, Okay, I'll just give you this
-
little bit. You know how many of you would love
-
to have that it's just an afterthought? You are just
-
an afterthought? Do you know that you are not just
-
an afterthought? And gosts eyes? Do you know that he
-
loves you? Do you know that his sacrifices son for you?
-
You're not an afterthought?
-
Now? Then? Why is God enough to thought to us? Sometimes?
-
Hey, when I'm sharing this thing, I also feel you know,
-
because I am like that again, I'm human being as well. Okay,
-
change or this word sound very nice one? Okay, but
-
I just put you here. Commitments Huh? Isn't commutment good?
-
I'm committed to my wife. Yes, yes, yes, it's good.
-
But other commitments can also affect us giving our best
-
for God. We talk about God being taught first, first priority, right,
-
But when there's something else as a first priority, then
-
you're committed something else. So the Bible is very clear,
-
so you can alserve two masters. It's either God or Memon.
-
You choose, you know, we have to choose so other
-
communers can affect it. I'm too busy. There's something important
-
I you to do. Nothing wrong with our friends, nothing wrong,
-
But it's that top in your life. That's something you
-
got to consider because if it is that has become
-
God to you, love people.
-
Don't catch that. Oh no, mind sill come to church.
-
I still believe in Jesus. Yes, yes you do.
-
But our actions speak very loud. And I'm not saying
-
that now so that you can go and look at people. No,
-
I'm saying that so that you can look at yourself.
-
I check my action and why I do. It'll be
-
hard to check other people. No, because you can't see
-
us in your heart. So please don't go and do that.
-
But I'm saying the actions because then you can see
-
your own actions. What have you been practicing? You without realizing?
-
Right? That might be? Where or God is you get?
-
I mean? Right? Well?
-
Another thing that can stop you is complaints. This I
-
don't know when you explainer complaints? How many of you
-
have met a person that complains all the time? Find
-
or not a person that complains all the time? Do
-
you think they will give their best. Do you think
-
will they will give their best? I mean you be
-
the judge number five, okay, and this is the last
-
time for me, don't you. You can add your on list,
-
but I would encourage you to think about how to
-
give your best and not how not to give your best.
-
So I'm just giving us thoughts so that we can
-
think about it a bit. I put here combat trauma. Uh,
-
none of us are in have been sold just before
-
combat trauma? Right past bad experiences with church, with leaders.
-
With Christians.
-
But why is that got to do with God? Well,
-
let me go into scripture. So let's start with this,
-
how do I give God my best?
-
How? Well?
-
I would like to rephrase this question because he will
-
help you a little bit more because if we ask
-
how to give God my best? Then something very hard
-
to internalize. But if we ask the question, how do
-
I love God the best? It makes it very clearly.
-
You'll catch it, right, So it starts with love first,
-
Do we love God or not?
-
Yes? No?
-
Because with that simple question he will determine everything else
-
that comes after. Right, and there's a decision you have
-
to decide. Nobody's going to force you to decide that decision.
-
You will have to decide because your expression of love
-
is unique, and your expression of love towards the Lord,
-
it is something you will do. If you love something
-
else more than God, then that will take more of
-
your time. There will be something that will be priority.
-
Is how we work, Okay, Right, that's the first motivation.
-
It is very hard to give your best to someone
-
or something if you don't love them.
-
It is very hard. Have you been in love before? Friends?
-
Have you?
-
I was just talking to a leader just now, and
-
you're talking about how you know fresh, young, green smelling couples. No,
-
not a couple of ye couple. I'm so excited to
-
talk to each.
-
Other every day.
-
Right. For those of you here are married, you remember
-
the first time the girl that you like that's now
-
your wife. Okay, girl that you like that's not your wife? Please,
-
there's nothing about it, Okay, how it works last time?
-
Right?
-
It's as we love. There's something I learned in marriage
-
that's very important. Communication, right, couples married couples. Communication. There's
-
another important one thing I learned. Sometimes we love the
-
way we want to be loved. Corner, we love someone
-
the way we want to be loved, but because all
-
of us have different love languages, we try our best
-
to love someone the way we will do it, the
-
way we like it. But actually that person doesn't feel love.
-
Does that make sense to your The guy say a
-
single here, girls, says a singer. I'm giving you a tipes,
-
so you better write this down.
-
So effectively.
-
If you want to love someone, you gotta love the
-
way the person will feel love. You gotta love the
-
way the person will feel love. You'll catch there not
-
because if you keep trying to love, Oh, you know,
-
I like to be serviced, so I will keep sinking person.
-
But this person loves word or affirmation. And then suddenly
-
you have a you know, power town hall meeting husband
-
and wife, and then your wife will say, oh, I
-
don't you don't love me anymore? You used to buy flowers?
-
And then the husband's lie, But I serve you every day.
-
I give you everything, I give you my life. I
-
work so hard five five five for fight, and then
-
and then chicken talking to that and then they you know,
-
they stressity, they go and see pasta ma elin and
-
then pass alien because they're not emotionally you know, connected
-
to the situation.
-
They're like are you guys hearing yourself and then passed.
-
I have to tell the guy, why don't you say
-
I love you your wife? Every day?
-
And then anyone say why don't you start cutting fruits
-
for him in the morning? You know, and then suddenly
-
suddenly it's changed. Doesn't mean that they don't love each other. No,
-
they still love each other. It's just that the expression
-
is not clicking. You understand that. Okay, none of you
-
are getting me this morning. Good morning everyone. I hope
-
you understand. So unless I start the American you're like,
-
oh no, no, no, you find all the type. Okay,
-
go back and practice. It's kay.
-
Do you know that it's the same with God. Do
-
you know that it's the same with God. Let's read scripture? Yeah,
-
can you read scripture?
-
He says, John fourteen fifteen eighteen says, if you love me,
-
keep my commandments?
-
Friends, are you reading what I'm reading? If you love me,
-
who's meaning God?
-
Right? Keep my commandments out? Ooh, and I will pray
-
the Father and he will give you another helper. Oh, okay,
-
who's this help of the Holy Spirit? That he may
-
abide with you forever, the spirit of truth whom the
-
world cannot receive because he neither sees him nor knows him.
-
Do you know this points right important? The world cannot
-
receive because it neither sees him or knows him. That
-
is why Christians, you are weird. People won't understand you.
-
People won't get why you're so happy in times where
-
it's stopped, because the helper is there to help you,
-
and the world will not understand. So stop trying to
-
be relevant to the world. Stop trying to fit in
-
because you can't, especially if you have the Holy spray
-
of you. That's where the frustration lizes. I feel sometimes.
-
In fact, I would say, you have something better than
-
the world has to offer, because you have peace, you
-
have love. Are you catching something or that He neither
-
sees him nor knows him, but you know him, for
-
he dwells with you and will be in you. I
-
will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.
-
That's the promise from God. We will not be alone.
-
If you're feeling alone, here, there's a life from the devil,
-
because the helper is in you. If you have received Christ,
-
the Holy spray is there, talk to him. Do you
-
know that God will talk back? He will John fourteen
-
you want to say, is he who has my commondness
-
and keeps them? Is he who loves me out? And
-
he who loves me will be loved by my father,
-
and I will love him and manifest myself to him. Friends,
-
you want to love God, it is quite simple. Keep
-
his commandments. If you don't know what his commandments is,
-
read it simple, not complicated. Oh God, I will sacrifice
-
my life for you.
-
Hello? Are you even keeping my commments? What you so? First? One?
-
Sacrifice life? Chill?
-
Love right, brother, chill? Are we even keeping his commments?
-
Not think about it? How do we keep his commments?
-
Well?
-
Loving others? John twenty one, fifteen nineteen. Okay, let me
-
read that. John twenty one, fifteen nineteen v Extually we
-
can help me. I guys, okay, I realized when I
-
appreciate everybody's really quiet wire, Am I too offensive?
-
I'm so sorry if I am?
-
You know?
-
Noah? Okay, give me some assurance. Are guys.
-
Sorry? Insecure? Insecure picture? I'm not as confident as fast me.
-
I realize every time he said I would have to
-
you know, check on him for fun? John John chapter
-
twenty one. Okay, John twenty one, How Kenna.
-
Is it there all right? Okay? Great fifteen to nineteen? Okay,
-
say so.
-
When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon,
-
son of Jonah, do you love me more than this?
-
He said to him, Yes, Lord, you know that I
-
love you. He said to him, So, if we love Jesus,
-
what do we do? Find some lamb and make sure
-
you feed it?
-
Okay?
-
So after this or you go go and look for
-
a live lamb, buy and then feed the lamb. Then
-
you love Jesus. Okay, we take God's it literally. Y'all
-
know I'm joking. Right next, he said to him again
-
a second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?
-
He said to him, Yes, Lord, you know that I
-
love you. He said to him, ten my sheep. And
-
next he said to him at that time, Simonson, Jnah,
-
do you love me? Peter was grieved, or God, how
-
many times? How many times must you ask me the
-
same question?
-
Don't you know? I love you?
-
One John four nineteen twenty one says we love him
-
because he first loved us. If someone says I love
-
God and hates his brother, he is a liar, for
-
he who does not love his brother whom he has seen.
-
How can he love God whom he has not seen?
-
And this commandment we have from him, that he who
-
loves God must love his brother.
-
Also. Friends, if you have offense in this place, deal
-
with it.
-
If someone here has offended you, someone someone else has
-
offended you, please go and ask, Go and forgive the person.
-
If you need to sort it out, sorted out.
-
If you need to ask for forgiveness, ask for forgiveness,
-
because it's very difficult to love God when there's unforgiveness
-
in your heart. It could be unforgiveness or something very
-
small said, something very very small, and we hold on
-
to realize goal at it, and then we suffer the
-
rest of our lives. Friends, I've seen how bitterness can
-
cause unnecessary strife in the family. I'm a product of
-
having people angry each other all the time, and I
-
tell myself I don't want it ever again. I go
-
from a very angry family, all very angry one angry
-
for no reason. Why small thing was really a bit nonsense.
-
Lave right. We got to love others. You want to
-
love God, keep his commandments, love others.
-
Oh, play people are cruel, They are horrible Ye're the
-
worst on this earth. I know, and Jesus still loves you.
-
You're also human, none of us ye are perfect. I'm
-
also human. Jesus loves me because he.
-
Loves me first. I can love other people because he
-
loves me first. I can love other people. Amen. So
-
keep his commandments and love others.
-
Don't give God something that doesn't cost you. I think
-
there's something we can learn from King David. King David
-
is it a man after God's own heart. He knew
-
how to give God his best. There was a story
-
in the Bible, second Samuel twenty four where I think
-
King David's sin because God asks him, don't do something.
-
You can go and read yourself. Okay, it's second seven,
-
chapter twenty four. So God asked King David not to
-
count hit number his people. King number is people for
-
whatever reason, maybe insecurity. And then God God actually brought
-
like a plague to the land and kill a lot
-
of people who know.
-
And King David is like, why do you kill all
-
my sheep? Right? Can you please punish me in stead?
-
And God said, okay, I'm gonna you know, because God
-
knows King David's heart. God gave King David an assignment
-
and said, you need to build an altar, offer me sacrifices,
-
and then you will stop.
-
That's how you redeem yourself.
-
And when King David was building the author and finding
-
the items to you know, offer this sacrifice, he was
-
in this place where there's this guy called Arona, the
-
owner of the land. Friends, you know what the king is, right,
-
you know what king is, Okay, only half of you know.
-
The rest of you don't know a king is.
-
Okay.
-
I know my name is king, but it's not I'm
-
not a king, okay, I'm a prince buty anyway, So
-
he's king of all Israel. No, he can think whatever
-
he wants. No, right, in fact, the lot of let's say, hey,
-
you know, King, what are you doing? Can you can
-
you just take and use whatever you want? Anything I have,
-
go for it, and you're not King David's responds with
-
he said. The King said to Rana, no, but I
-
will surely buy it from you for a price. Nor
-
will I offer burn offerings to the Lord, my God,
-
with that which costs me nothing. So, friends, when you
-
want to offer up something to the Lord, again, this
-
might be very like how to say it requires some
-
maturity to understand this. It gonna cost you something. If
-
it doesn't cost you anything, it's not from you, you'll
-
get it. Okay, I use this example. Uh, if you're
-
a campus student. Okay, No, we tell we tell young guys.
-
Guys are guys listener and girls listener. We tell young
-
guys to say, you want to get a girlfriend, can
-
don't use your father's money to take out for a date?
-
Your catch? That your catch?
-
That similar concept about value right. We want to give
-
God our best right. You got to cost us right
-
if it doesn't cost you, is your best? Think about it? Friends, again,
-
I'm not asking you, okay after Lisa, some of you
-
might go straight away because of the combat trauma in Churchia.
-
You might immediately think, okay after this per seveway's gonna
-
take an offering. Guys, I'm not doing any of that.
-
I'm talking about our relationship we've got. How are we
-
giving to God? How are we giving? Are we giving
-
our best? So don't give God something that doesn't cost you?
-
Give God what you have your catch that give God?
-
Yet because you see when we talk giving your best right,
-
I've had this conversation before, and maybe let me be
-
a bit more honest with you, the stage, the worship team.
-
I've had this conversation before with a young person and
-
passe alwyn.
-
We must give got our best, so we must buy
-
the most expensive sound system.
-
We must get the most expensive problem the most so
-
the church must invest in all this most expensive.
-
Day so they can give God our best. Good thought,
-
right makes sense? Right? You mean.
-
When we only have one guitar, we cannot give got
-
our best? You mean when we only have a cajon
-
we can all give our best? What does that mean?
-
You know? Friends?
-
Maybe I'm older now. Maybe if I was younger, I
-
will still think the same way, But now I don't.
-
I think giving got your best is not just about
-
a million dollar sound system. I think giving got your
-
best Again, if God blesses us, and can I clarify,
-
if really the Lord has blessed the church right with
-
a million dollars as you praise the lalla, then we
-
can use it. But if you ask me again, I'm
-
not the one managing funds at all. But if you
-
ask me, if you have a million dollars in church,
-
where would you rather go? I think it will make
-
sense to go permissions? Okay, because you want to go
-
and worship God in heaven. I think Heaven has the
-
best sound system. So again I can argue until the
-
cows come home. Okay, because none of us here or whatever.
-
But the principle of giving God your best does not
-
rely on what you don't have. It only relies on
-
what you have. You'll get that, so don't be deceived.
-
I can only give God my best when I have
-
the Mercedes car. Then I can start driving people around.
-
I can only cook for Daniel when my kitchen is renovated.
-
Prior to this, the past ten years, I cannot cook
-
for Daniel. I don't have a good enough ovan. My
-
kitchen is not good enough. I can only cook Maggie
-
me in it. Daniel have seen how I gave the
-
home their best. And I did it not because I
-
want to prove well. I did because improved a point.
-
But I did it because I wanted to show the
-
campus students what giving God your best means. And I'll
-
tell you why I did their kitchen, and I've learned
-
a very important lesson. A campers student kitchen has nothing.
-
No, no, he's not his right.
-
I remember going and we did homes and I was
-
like Okay, you know, I just brought the ingredients friends
-
to cut tomatosa. It took us one hour because the
-
knife was blunt and the chopping was so small. We
-
started homes at ninth right, what could have been done
-
in an hour with proper kitchen agreement to a long time,
-
I thought myself, no way, next week going to be different.
-
The next home is going to be different. It was
-
just a one thing, and I said, what would be
-
nice to bless sea? I was even thinking about logic
-
or you know, very math fun Now I was just like, okay,
-
what will bless the cameras?
-
Doudent?
-
What will show them that Holmes is the greatest place
-
on this earth? And I'll do my best. And when
-
I when I'm doing food, I want to give my best,
-
no matter what I have. So I brought my oven
-
and I roast a chicken for them, and I think
-
from that day onwards we had a lot of express
-
So people come out from there or so. I don't
-
know why, maybe the way inspired or whatever. I've never
-
joy express. Okay, what am I trying to tell you?
-
Friends?
-
Giving God your best does not rely on what you
-
don't have. It relies solely on what you have. In
-
the Bible, it talks about the lady with the two mice.
-
She gave everything to everyone is like, oh, you know
-
so little. You know, look at all the wonderful people
-
that gave more money, and Christ said, truly, I say
-
to you that this poor widow has put in more
-
than all. Let me share with you a testimony now
-
end because I knew God. I've actually got two more points.
-
But I probably won't cover it now. I don't know
-
whether i'll cover it, you know, So maybe we go
-
through the picture of my car and okay, I'll share
-
with you and friends. I'm not sharing to boast, and
-
if I boss, it is to boast how wonderful God
-
is in my life. I'm sharing because take it from me.
-
If I'm going to preach it to you, I have
-
to walk the talk first. That's why I share with you. Yeah,
-
that's me and my wife by the time you're married.
-
So I used to drive this my first car, actually right,
-
and I love this car best car ever. When bank
-
people people cry, I don't cry on Okay, it's a proton.
-
It's a hashbag and I don't know why my dad
-
when he buys car from here, he thinks. He probably
-
thinks I like the color. He made sure he got
-
a lime green metallic isara. You can spot it a
-
mile away. Why, I don't know, right, And I dropped
-
this car for many years, right, And what happened was,
-
you know, I got married, and of course Jess had
-
the own car. She has a wonderful car called the Arthos,
-
which I until today I really really detest.
-
And I have my car which I love.
-
And it was twenty ten an ex Church was going
-
to get this new building and we needed to raise funds.
-
We needed to raise the ten percent. The building costed
-
thirteen million ringate and we were going to build a
-
great building for the Lord, right and then of course
-
fast the belief and creation. And we raised up the
-
funds okay, right, one point three million ring it to
-
get the building. You know, and you know, if you've
-
been extra strong enough for those of you who are you,
-
I want to clarify this. We are a chich of faith.
-
We don't have big dato startings backing someone. The biggest
-
doato we have is got That's how we operate, That's
-
how our passes operate. You can go and read the story. Okay,
-
So I'm not gonna go to the I'm gonna talk
-
about my part so excited that everybody talked how twenty
-
ten was also the year that I just got married.
-
And for those of you who don't know, I'm full time. Okay,
-
the law has come me full time. So therefore maybe
-
certain things I don't have the luxury of certain things
-
really have to live by faith loaer okay, may not
-
have a lot of things right, and God has been.
-
Good so far.
-
I wanted to give, but I had nothing I wanted
-
to give, or so sow and give behind nothing and
-
nothing literally and just got married. No, So I'm like how,
-
And of course my wife she gave, and different ones gave,
-
and I said, Lord, what can I give? And then
-
he showed me this car, and I'm like, god, you
-
know that I got no car. Right after this, he said,
-
you asked me right what you want to give? I'm
-
like okay, And then married, MA can still ask the wife. Yeah,
-
I didn't got asked me to give my car away. See,
-
by the time, my wife knows me already, okay, she
-
knows how to operate, and she trusts me. And she
-
said I was hoping. She said, huh, yeah, we just
-
got married. No, Lah, don't give your car away. We
-
need it because we have to drive to work and
-
all just one can know enough. Instead, she said, dear,
-
you've got us to do it. Do it, Lah, and
-
I hallelujah. So I went look for a buyer and friends,
-
this guy is an old carnel. It's like an old car.
-
It's like probably second third.
-
You know.
-
I sold it for three thousand, and I gave everything
-
to the building fund. How I wish, I can tell you. Oh,
-
and then the lot provided suddenly someone came here past Elvin.
-
This is key to my new BMW. I wish, I
-
wish anyway, if any of you feel like to do
-
that now. Nothing happened. I gave got my best. Nothing happened.
-
Long story shot, we didn't get the building. Foolish right,
-
foolish right?
-
But do you know that?
-
And and I and I can say this confidently because
-
I've been with the church long enough. A lot of
-
just when they go to a building fund and things
-
like this happened right normally, the just split one actually
-
didn't split because we all knew and believed that God
-
called us for it, But somehow we didn't get it.
-
Do you know what happened after we lost the building?
-
You know, normally lose the building, EDDI, then oh you know,
-
let's tach it. Do you know what happened after we
-
lost a building? And can I tell you it was
-
a downtime for the rest of us? Are for Passa
-
Kennep as well. He was very honest to share on stage,
-
but got ministered to him. God told him you wanted it,
-
but that was not my plan for you. You know,
-
it was God's plan for us now fifteen twenty years later,
-
fifteen years later, Yeah, this is God's plan church planting movement. Guys,
-
if we've gotten the building now, I will still probably
-
doing XTEV.
-
You know.
-
We didn't, but that's not the point. So I gave
-
God my best. But we lost a building anyway. But
-
I wasn't unhappy or angry because I knew it was
-
from God. Nobody, friends, nobody coaxed me. Pasta didn't come
-
and say, hey, Elvin, what can you give her? No,
-
no one I wanted to. I say, God, you speak
-
to me.
-
This is unto you. No one, this problem my own problem.
-
And of course I'm married. Me and my wife's problem.
-
Gave and of course I was praying with her, Lord,
-
please give me a car, Please give me a car,
-
Please give me a car.
-
I didn't get a car. We dropped my wife's car
-
for a while. Not just that.
-
I the time she was working in where she was
-
working near Ika, I was working to Subang. We're saying
-
quota company. I think God was already training me to
-
plant xtpday that time. Ready, because right every morning, with
-
one car, I will drive her all the way to
-
the office in Ikia, I mean in the area. Maybe
-
maybe I was training me for KT or so all
-
the way for two years our friends two years, drive
-
all the way there, drop her off, drive to Subang.
-
Do you know my how many gems are there? Right?
-
And then after that finish work, drive back to pick
-
up and then go home in Charlah. One and a
-
half hours on the road every day.
-
One way. I did it willingly. No, it's the day
-
of like, oh, I would never do that again. Of course,
-
during the.
-
Time we were newly married, and I'm sharing this to
-
some friends and I say, hey, I remember, I think
-
it was the first man marriage. And then they asked
-
me because we had separate car, separate plan, right and asked,
-
where's your wife?
-
I said, actually, I don't know.
-
I don't know, as my wife was a very independent,
-
but that that period of time, it kind of forced
-
us to communicate, like you know, so we got like
-
schedule to plan and I did it and it actually
-
helped our communication way better. So I really am thankful
-
for that season, although it was painful. And then later
-
on what happened was I remember and I remember, I'm
-
thinking a bit more time.
-
Okay.
-
Remember I share with you once that my wife has
-
a spirit of discernment. I believe that when she dreams
-
about something, it happens. So this is where the testimony
-
gets interesting. So one day, so of course we were like, oh,
-
should be buy a car? You know, her car is
-
like not, won't be able to survive this kind of drive.
-
And then one day we were like one day suddenly
-
and she woke up. Now she said, year, I don't
-
know why, I feel like We're gonna get a Toyota
-
ViOS silver color. And I'm like, huh why so specific
-
and the time we were kind of looking for a
-
CARDI we didn't budget, you know, something that is you know,
-
wrote worthy for the family just two hours and Ema
-
some family that we can drive to Penang and come
-
back and stuff like that easily. So I'm like, okay, yeah,
-
of course that died. I didn't know that she has
-
this gifting, right, And I'm like whatever, okay. And then
-
two weeks later and all Elk regular car. So he
-
was helping us fine. And then I told el K
-
about this that He's like, oh okay, And I remember
-
we had a potential car, and I started looking for her.
-
I mean since my wife said myself, just going look like,
-
start looking for Toyota with yours, but don't care about
-
the color. And then somehow the lot opened the door
-
for us to get this car. It was a good price.
-
We went and see the car. Both of us saw
-
it was the color that she described and we were shocked.
-
He fit our budget. It was slightly below market rate
-
for this car. And guys, can I tell you I
-
love this car. This guy is an awesome car.
-
Okay.
-
I would recommend anybody to buy these views, not the
-
new one new want a bit too heavy? Design is
-
quite cool. You can drive like that around the road, okay.
-
And this was our family car for a while until
-
we got our current car. And the reason why the
-
old it is is because that's my grandma. I was
-
looking for photos of the crator de'side. The only photo
-
I got off the isra can you turn back? It
-
was only that part because I didn't take photo of
-
my car that one I found online. Okay, so that
-
you know what, so that you know how it looks like.
-
Then the picture after that, can you see the bitch
-
after that? So there's my actual car in my house.
-
And then my grandma. She's the type, but I think
-
she created Adobe Photoshop before it was created a lot
-
because you know, she has like albums of photos with
-
and somehow my grandma liked to take photo of car
-
and house with us standing in front of it. So
-
I make sure to find this, you know, my wife
-
and me and got provided. He didn't provide like some
-
amazing give me a khaki, No, but God provided. God
-
provided incrementally. I won't be able to go to detail
-
a lot, but he just provided we were able to
-
afford the car.
-
We drop his car.
-
For a long time. I really really loved this car
-
until the problem. We want to release. I'm like, I
-
feel really like said I want to let go of.
-
Friends.
-
Why am I trying to tell you this, and of
-
course I think. I mean, if I want to share
-
with you every single time the Lord has blessed me,
-
I won't be able to go be you readier. But
-
I still believe in giving up my best, and that
-
is a very I learned from this church. Friends, when
-
you give got your best, he will not short change you.
-
He will never Sometimes we shot change ourself because we
-
hold back, and then we ask, go, wh why why
-
why didn't you.
-
No?
-
If the Lord has asked you to do something, to
-
do it? And if God is your first love, if
-
God is the one that's talked, then he should be taught,
-
not second, third.
-
Fourth, fifth.
-
Can I share if you're a simple thing that y'all
-
can do, even starting next week when we meet for worship,
-
and maybe actually you can come up reading when we
-
meet for worship here on a Sunday. Do you know
-
that worship is not for you? We're not putting Daniel
-
here and then we all worship him. Now, we're not
-
putting Iran here and we alwayship him.
-
No, worship is for God.
-
Can I encourage your friends? I think the simplest thing
-
you can do, the simplest thing, and I know somethings.
-
It's difficult for Okay, I'm not gonna argue, but I
-
think the simplest thing you can do to give God
-
your best.
-
Is to offer up your worship to him. It's just that.
-
Then once you come in too that, once you do that,
-
see how God moves in your life. He might touch
-
other things, he might move other things, He might reveal
-
other things to you. He might create other things. But
-
the first time is us. Have we taken God for granted?
-
I'm not telling you here so that I can get
-
punctual attendance for experience. You know, I'm telling you here
-
because I know for a fact, I know true life
-
experience that when you give God your best and you
-
honor him, he will take care of you. Do you
-
know that the more I encourage you to believe in
-
God and serve Him, and all the less work I
-
have as a pastor, It's funny, right, It's true, because
-
thank God, meanises you're not me, and I love that
-
because who knows how long more we have this opportunity
-
to stand here? Who knows how long more we have
-
