  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. If you're writing notes, and I hope that most of

  4. you are.

  5. And now this actually all might not need to because

  6. oh you know, we got the spotify can listen to

  7. it again. But I won't crutch your right notes because

  8. you know, when you write notes and when you bring

  9. a Bible and you read, you're studying the word, and

  10. it's for your benefit because then you you know, I

  11. don't know how you study. Some people they read, some

  12. people they watch pictures, some people they listen, some people

  13. they watch movie. That's how they study. A lot of

  14. us are visual learners. So sometimes when you write, you

  15. actually imagine or remember the phrase.

  16. You know.

  17. So all these things that you do are is again

  18. not just to so that we can be a top student,

  19. you know, but more of like so that you can

  20. grow right, so that you can download into your spirit. Okay,

  21. but if you're writing notes, the title my message is

  22. morning is don't carry your baggages to twenty twenty five.

  23. The title is wrong here I wrote that twenty twenty four.

  24. Twenty four four is this year don't carry your baggages

  25. to twenty twenty five, they're ready correctly, yes, don't carry

  26. your baggages to twenty twenty five, okay, or if you

  27. want a more spiritual title, you can write, there are

  28. we resting in Jesus Christ. The more spiritual, right, Okay,

  29. don't carry your baggages is small like clickbaitlane.

  30. Okay. So one December twenty twenty four.

  31. And you know, every time you come to the end

  32. of the year, you know, some of us we'll be like, oh,

  33. you know, I reflect on Some ofe's got no time

  34. to reflect, so we'll be like busy, busy, busy all

  35. the way. But some of us we've got time. Then

  36. we'll go on a retreat, go on family holiday. Then

  37. you got time to like think, reflect on life, how

  38. it thing's been. You know, last week, you know, thankfully

  39. me and my family were able to go for a

  40. family holiday to the beach. But praise the Lord, Malaysia

  41. is a monsoon season in the beach right now, especially

  42. east coast, so it was rain and rain and rain,

  43. and we were like literally checking the weather, you know,

  44. like UK, you always check weather, check weather, and then

  45. you know, try and find all gods. Then first of God,

  46. the more we got there, rain then go back, then

  47. gotta start there. We're like, what, God, are you playing

  48. tricks on us?

  49. So?

  50. Can I ask us a question? How are you doing

  51. so far? It's one more mon to the new year.

  52. Let's pause hole moment. How are you doing so far?

  53. Can we take some time to take stock of our

  54. lives and adjust if we need to?

  55. So?

  56. The one thing that I realized, uh, you know, as

  57. I guess, the older you grow, the more I become. Uh,

  58. I realized that you may not fully be able to

  59. control everything.

  60. Uh.

  61. And at the same time, you can adjust one, you know,

  62. adjustment a little bit. You know, I've got some people

  63. are the way they adjust is are they just quit

  64. and leave? And I don't think that's very wise. Last, Okay,

  65. let's just drop everything and start new life. You know

  66. we all have to do that. Reset, reboot, right. You

  67. got probably the PC? Have you on and off it again?

  68. That's a question. So can we take some time today?

  69. Can I encourage you if you're not maybe a busy

  70. main thing about something, but can we take some time

  71. to take stock of our lives today?

  72. It's very important to do that.

  73. Can we reflect a little bit on how things have

  74. been in the past year, and if we can make

  75. better decisions, you want to make better decisions? Who here

  76. don't want to make better decisions? Okay, everybody wants to

  77. make better decisions. There's a great question. God, no, none

  78. of you. If I asked the other question, you won't

  79. raise out your hands. You're gonna get that.

  80. Okay.

  81. Anyway, So I'm sure all of us want to make

  82. better decisions.

  83. You know.

  84. It's life is all about making decisions, right, what to eat,

  85. whether I need wake up today, what to wear for

  86. you know, for church? What I'm going to leave home?

  87. You know, now it's like leaving home is like earlier

  88. and early and earlier. I've never imagined now that I

  89. have to leave home two and a half hours before

  90. my work. Oh my goodness, I'm the first time of office,

  91. you know, I cost any time after that, I'm confirmed

  92. late on not because of me, but because of the traffic.

  93. It's becoming like Jakada. So try twenty twenty four. So

  94. before we well, as we take stock, I just want

  95. to highlight a few things for us to consider. Okay,

  96. are you guys? Okay, Okay, this guy's here, This suns

  97. stick quiet is everyone here, okay, all right, Oh I

  98. learned something very interesting. Okay, I don't wratter. Do it

  99. here or not? I don't wratter. Y'all will follow me

  100. or not? Can maybe Nolan the I'll do it when

  101. I chair next time. When I do it, probably Jason

  102. will understand inside joke. Lift your hands up. Clap, clap, clap.

  103. You get that. No you don't, okay, near mind?

  104. Yeah, you know t twenty twenty four, right the year

  105. try twenty twenty four.

  106. If you think about it.

  107. We might be putting and carrying things with us that

  108. we shouldn't carry. Do you know that If you don't realize, right,

  109. you might be you know, we might be putting things

  110. and carrying things with us that we should not carry.

  111. Let me give you an illustration with that. Hold on.

  112. It's the cool thing about PJ is that we're a

  113. theater that you can do some acting, some things. I'm

  114. not I'm not faking it. It's really heavy. There are

  115. some things that we shouldn't carry, you know.

  116. But do you know? Can you turn to the next light?

  117. I think, ah, so imagine now this twenty twenty four, right,

  118. I'm in twenty twenty four, right now, I'm going to

  119. twenty twenty five. Twenty five five is there for visual

  120. like understanding?

  121. Right?

  122. So of course some of us we'll be carrying things

  123. right cor not you're carrying things right?

  124. Not? Then? Then? How no, you want to travel? You

  125. have to pack your bags, pack your toiletries, peck.

  126. Everything, and it's very heavy, you know, because some things

  127. that shouldn't.

  128. How many of you overpack on?

  129. I overpacked because I had one or two experiences radio

  130. that I missing an underwear. Okay, let me tell you

  131. the most gross experience I had, you know, and I'll

  132. give you a tip.

  133. Okay, let me tell mission trip. First mission trip.

  134. Don't worry, I'll tear my all the way this you

  135. get to know me a little bit better today. First

  136. mission tripment to India. I went with a girl of brothers.

  137. You know, can seeing me two more brothers that are

  138. now going to an our church.

  139. Uh.

  140. And we went and I was leading a team and

  141. we were like, oh, you know, pumped ou about it is?

  142. I tell you it's one of the best trips ever

  143. I've ever had overseas beautiful, awesome places that the tour

  144. guy will never take you. First trip went in India, Uh,

  145. and then after that, you know, we also decide to

  146. shave our head.

  147. And then we're packing.

  148. Okay because two weeks yeah hot, now hot, So imagine

  149. now four guys, one Indian, three Chinese in the middle

  150. of everyone else is Indian. Then we were like, well,

  151. we really stuck up, stuck up like a salt thumb.

  152. So packed that pack and then I first time pack.

  153. You want to pack like I want to be smart, right,

  154. you know, but never really packed overseas and in India

  155. we had to buy stuff Like here, Malaysia is so convenient.

  156. You can just go to seven eleven, go to some

  157. they got no more guys, there is like no more.

  158. We were at a place I forgot what place is called.

  159. We want to be hard and there's no more in

  160. be Ha, by the way, it's the poorest in India.

  161. Agriculture. You know, you want to get stuff is tafla. Okay?

  162. So I packed and someone gave me the best advice

  163. ever is said, you know, Elvin, one of the best

  164. things that you should invest in is disposable underwear.

  165. Okay. Can I give you a tip?

  166. Whatever tip that people give you, you must test it

  167. up before you go and do it okay. So I

  168. was so confident with dispersed advice. I said, yes, I

  169. will buy everything disposable underwear. I will only wear one

  170. underwear right with me. There's cloth on the way there,

  171. but I had underwear two weeks of our friends. I

  172. went there, and then time to change underwear, change the underwear.

  173. Realize two things. One is it was too small, and

  174. I think I realized it was super uncomfortable. Of course,

  175. some girls I've told these stories. I'm no, Ma, this

  176. is disposible underwear.

  177. It's different.

  178. I said, I think you guys a bit different. And

  179. I decided that I cannot do mission ship like that

  180. because half the time be thinking about my underway. Imagine

  181. sharing testimony and thinking about your underwear courses or or

  182. adjusting your pants courses like uncomfortable.

  183. You're dear, expect this this morning. Right.

  184. So I had to get creative with my one underwear,

  185. and I'll live at that anyway. Just imagine what what

  186. what what? What creative idea? I couldn't buy any and

  187. it was not underware to buy anyway. I had to

  188. get creative. So yeah, I live at it. You want

  189. to normal. We have lunch hedded so friends twenty twenty four,

  190. and we are carrying this heavy laden bag to twenty

  191. two five. And then when we are here, we want

  192. to do things. I want to achieve my dreams. I

  193. want to, you know, do stuff my family. But it's

  194. so hard. God, Why isn't so hard? Why is it

  195. so hard to do things? And you're holding a heavy bag?

  196. Friends? Why is it so hard? God? I pray, I

  197. believe in you. Let go of the bag. But this

  198. bag is important, all the stuff I need. Let go

  199. of the bag.

  200. As I'm sharing this with you, I just realized there's

  201. a scripture in the Bible that says Jesus asks is

  202. a bost to go out to by two. Don't bring

  203. anything by your crook, don't even bring money. Wherever house

  204. open for you, go in wherever house don't open for you.

  205. Do this, shake the dust off and what off?

  206. Lo?

  207. We want to carry a huge back my toiletry inside

  208. everything else inside? So, friends, can I encourite you this morning?

  209. Leave your luggage in twenty twenty four because it's much

  210. easier to do things when you don't have anything heavy.

  211. Correct.

  212. A lot of us we could have come to a

  213. place where we are carrying this heavy back throughout twenty

  214. twenty four, because this was stuff from twenty twenty three.

  215. In fact, we add more things inside new ya ma,

  216. add more things, gets heavier, right, it gets heavier, it

  217. gets harder to walk, and then we give up. I'm

  218. guessing it's quiet because you guys are feeling something. Do

  219. we really need You should use it properly?

  220. Right? You just roll it easier? Right?

  221. Oh, much easier, much easier to carry my heavy luggage.

  222. Me if I roll it. You want to know the

  223. thing that's not so good about this rolling thing? Some

  224. of us have gotten so used to the way that

  225. it's part of us. Ready, we're so used to it.

  226. No, no, can can can't can one.

  227. Let's believe that the Lord had help us can and

  228. then when we go through bumps that I can can

  229. I carry a bit? Am I I still like this bag.

  230. I still love carrying stuff. But God said, let go,

  231. let go. You want to know us in the back.

  232. You want to wants in the back. It's so heavy, right, come,

  233. let's go find us in the back. But before that,

  234. I want to give you an illustration.

  235. That is bad. They're so heavy. You know what, Maybe

  236. maybe we just do some acting Daniel, can I get

  237. your help? So Daniel's going to be Jesus. Oh yeah, yeah,

  238. sure you is gonna.

  239. It's a joke because it's not a joke because U

  240. Shan is out Jesus. Anyway, this is the biitless Jesus.

  241. He's trying to grow his Okay, so so thanks you Shank.

  242. Maybe you stand here, you're standing in between twenty two.

  243. Stand here, Okay, we'll be a put aside. Okay.

  244. Then yeah, okay, So imagine US is Jesus. No need

  245. to imagine he got a head.

  246. Okay.

  247. Ah, maybe you take out your your code white color. Ah,

  248. Now can you imagine US is Jesus? Okay, can leave

  249. your Tiana, come come, come, okay, So imagine US is Jesus.

  250. And of course I'm elving, and as I want one

  251. thing to go to twenty twenty four.

  252. You shouldn't like what what should Jesus say? That's a

  253. good one. I'll give you the scripture.

  254. Come to me, all you who labor, and I havevey

  255. laden and I'll give you rests.

  256. Amen. Let's let's further read that. You stay here.

  257. First, gay, let's whetter read metew eleven twenty five thirty.

  258. Maybe we get the x TV. Yeah, I met you

  259. eleven twenty five thirty.

  260. I have it here. We'll read scripture and then we'll continue.

  261. Okayselvan from underwear story to Jesus illustration, it says it.

  262. At that time, Jesus answered and said, I thank you Father. Okay,

  263. you know what.

  264. Let's get Jesus to read it because it's in red. Okay,

  265. I read the black, you read the rad Okay. At

  266. that time, Jesus unswayed and said.

  267. I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and Earth, that

  268. you have hidden these things from the wise and puden

  269. and have revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for

  270. so it seemed good in your sight. All things have

  271. been delivered to me by my father. And no one

  272. knows the son except the father. Nor does anyone knows

  273. the father except the son and the one to whom

  274. the son wills to reveal him. Come to me, all

  275. who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give

  276. you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

  277. for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you

  278. will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy,

  279. and my burden is like.

  280. Thank you Jesus. So we carry the burden and we

  281. are here in the point from one year and again

  282. the year is.

  283. Just a just an illustration. Okay.

  284. The wonderful thing about crist is that you don't have

  285. to wait to go to New Year before you you

  286. do this.

  287. But then Jesus want to take the baggage. Come time.

  288. You're trying to take but no, no, wait, wait touching it.

  289. So Jesus want to take the baggage right, not no,

  290. this pressures to me. No, no, no, don't take it. I collected.

  291. It is all the stuff I collected the whole year.

  292. I collected. Why you wanna take it away? I've collected

  293. all these things because you'll be thinking, by papasel mean,

  294. I've been a Christian too near a city. Why do

  295. I steel like that's a burden? Well, you haven't let

  296. it go to Christ yet. You haven't let it go yet. Oh,

  297. but shouldn't God come and forcefully take it from me? No,

  298. Jesus is a gentleman. He's not going to do that.

  299. He's not going to force his way into your life.

  300. You have you have to accept him freely. You have

  301. to allow him to move in your life freely. It

  302. is a gift that we accept. This why our faith

  303. is so wonderful, because it is really free will, and

  304. it's really a choice. If you don't like that word

  305. free will, say, oh it's all predestined. No, no, there's

  306. a choice. You still have to make a choice to something.

  307. You still have to make a choice to let go

  308. of the bag or beat and once we say okay, Jesus,

  309. I want to go down, but bahawa because there's so

  310. much things that I want to do in twenty twenty five,

  311. so much things I want to pursue into, so much

  312. things that I want to experience in twenty twenty five.

  313. I'm carrying this heavy back. And you know, carrying a

  314. heavy back, you move slower, way slower. Get Jesus gonna

  315. trust you, you say, all you who are heavy laden,

  316. cast your buttons on you. Right, So come, Jesus, help

  317. me unpack this back past to humania. Let's see what

  318. it's in the back. Tell me we have to show

  319. them now what's in the back? Oh wow, that's worried?

  320. How heavy is a worry? Behavior?

  321. Are what else hurt? No?

  322. No, don't keep it and keep it. I don't keep

  323. the hurt. It's precious to me. They all wrong me.

  324. They deserve to die. Cast your burdens on Christ. Disappointments?

  325. How many disappointed this year? That church leader disappointed me?

  326. So horrible. Oh my boss disappointed me, promised me and

  327. then never gave me what he promised or she promised. Oh,

  328. my parents disappoint me. You know, they just do what

  329. they want on me. Cast your burdens on Christ. Bad habits,

  330. they always got bad habits, right, not so good? Right,

  331. it's heavy.

  332. You know.

  333. How do go and do good things when you have

  334. bad habits? Yeah, just give me me my burds. Oh,

  335. this on to really addictions? Well, additions so bad until

  336. you tall?

  337. Pride?

  338. Can I share something with you about pride? Pride is

  339. something all men have. Honestly, I feel that pride is

  340. something that if you're not careful right, it can seep

  341. into your life. It's very sneaky on pride. It started

  342. in the gut of eat it. Adam and I thought

  343. they knew better pride. Look at where you got them.

  344. How many others things that we know better pride. One

  345. of the biggest lessons I've learned in my life is submission.

  346. And how big or how great or how experienced or

  347. how knowledgeable I am. Even though I know more than

  348. my leaders, I submit because the moment I have this,

  349. I become like Lucifer yell pride.

  350. He's thinking no more. God gave him the gift.

  351. He performs, perform everyone he thinks he's got.

  352. Pride is so sneaky. How many of us have prime

  353. in our life? No? That the past.

  354. I don't know what he's talking about. I like this

  355. creature better pride? Actually, why the God bring you here?

  356. I will ask you this question.

  357. Is it? Is it just for fun? Oh?

  358. No that my my family want to be here. No,

  359. God brought you here. God doesn't make mistakes. Nothing happens

  360. by chance. Pride Wow, design is heavy offenses of fenss

  361. and for some of us fear past the burdens all

  362. to Christ.

  363. Hm.

  364. Doesn't I need the back anymore because I'm not carrying everything?

  365. But you know something versa, we still like the back

  366. any crosses, we still like the bag. We still want

  367. to keep the bag because it's expensive, it's good quality.

  368. Can thanks you just stay here for a minute. You

  369. stand with the with the But I still want to

  370. keep the back. But you want to know something that

  371. is not so nice. If you still keep the bag,

  372. what do you use the back for? I keep the

  373. bag so that I can keep more things lone this year,

  374. I make it heavy again, right, I make it heavy again.

  375. I add more things because I want the back. Hey, friends,

  376. you got no backer, cannot take anything. If you know

  377. wishon you want, you want back or you want Jesus.

  378. I already have Jesus. He supplies all our needs. I

  379. don't need my hurt. I don't need my worry. I

  380. don't need my a diction offends. I don't need my

  381. pride during my disappoinment. I don't need my experiences. I

  382. don't need my back. All I need is Christ. Come

  383. give you shang a hand, and just can you just

  384. leave here? Just be here, just leave here?

  385. Ken? Thanks?

  386. Who is Christ in our lives? The Bible says that

  387. Jesus is our Prince of peace.

  388. Amen.

  389. Isaiah nine six says, for unto us, as Christ is born,

  390. unto us, a son is given, and the government will

  391. be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called

  392. wonderful counselor Mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of peace, Prince

  393. of peace. What does Jesus bring to us? Have you

  394. thought about it? Oh, he gives us eternal life. Oh,

  395. he gives us a purpose. Or now I have Christian

  396. name because I used to be called King Kong Win.

  397. Then I got Alvin. That's my real name. And by

  398. the way, it's not a fake name. What does he

  399. bring us? Oh, he brings me title. I become Christian,

  400. then I can become pastorally A lot of people not

  401. Christians who can become past I know, God, look at

  402. the States.

  403. It's very scary. What does Jesus bring?

  404. Oh, it brings me my community, my friends, my family.

  405. Now I'm connected. Being a Christian, I get to be

  406. IMpower the in crowd for some of us. Being a Christian,

  407. you become part of the outcrowd because your in crowd

  408. is people who don't believe in Christ.

  409. I don't know. I don't know what's your situation. Friends.

  410. I'm just saying things that I've experienced growing up.

  411. What does Jesus actually bring to us? Ever thought about

  412. it before? Jesus brings to us God's presence?

  413. He does.

  414. He brings the presence of God through the Holy Spirit.

  415. You can go and do your own Bible study on this.

  416. It is very significant, I realized, and I'll show it

  417. one of two stories to you for a little bit

  418. more understanding. He brings God's presence through the Holy Spirit.

  419. You know, Jesus said, I'm gonna go away. I'm gonna

  420. send you a helper. And when you receive Christ into

  421. your life, you receive the Holy Spirit. Because God is

  422. true in one. That's why we believe. Right, people don't

  423. understand that. Fine, no point going into a deep study

  424. on Trinity. You want more details. Doctor past the met

  425. all these complicated days send to him.

  426. Do you know what is the Holy Spirit? Is God's

  427. dwelling in us? True? The Holy Spirit? The Bible constantly

  428. talks about it.

  429. I got no time to go through every scripture, right,

  430. but God's dwelling. You know, our body is a temple.

  431. Temple go what inside the presence of God. That's the

  432. term you use, right. You know, of course someoneized we

  433. use this term to life. You better not do things

  434. body are you better be good now? But you know

  435. that we like I don't know thought your body every

  436. day with the food we eat, with the things we do,

  437. with the phone, we watch, with all the stuff. But

  438. our body is a temple. That's the truth.

  439. Right.

  440. Your body is a temple of God because the Holy

  441. Spirit is in you and God's presence is in you.

  442. That's why we're peace friends, That's why Christians can experience peace.

  443. What does God's presence bring? We have God, we have Jesus.

  444. Right.

  445. The Holy Spirit is God's presence. So what does it

  446. bring to us God's presence? Let me read some scripture

  447. Psalm sixteen eleven. You will show me the path of

  448. life in your presence is fullness of joy. Joy means

  449. are happy all the time.

  450. Ah. Yes, and nola.

  451. Joy is not happiness, our friends, joy is joy. At

  452. your right hand are pleasures forever. More says the Lord

  453. will give strength to his people. The Lord will bless

  454. his people with peace.

  455. Right.

  456. And then we dig deeper into Bible study and nih

  457. My eight ten says. Then he said to them, go

  458. your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send

  459. portions to those for whom nothing is repaired. See, God

  460. always thinks about the less fortunate, for those of us

  461. who are blessed. You are blessed to be a blessing.

  462. Amen.

  463. Right, you see a brother or sister hungry, feed them,

  464. you know, don't just say I pray for you. No,

  465. take them a whole meal. Don't have to be levish meal,

  466. just simple meal, right, because who knows. One day when

  467. you are hungry, someone will help you. That is the

  468. community that God wants in our lives as believers whom

  469. nothing is repaired for this day is holy to our God.

  470. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is

  471. your strength. Eh, in your presence of joy. The joy

  472. of the Lord is your strength. That means when we

  473. have got joy, we are strong. Look too four them

  474. says glory to God in the highest and on earth peace,

  475. good will towards men.

  476. Peace.

  477. Do you realize that Isaiah ninety six and Look two

  478. fourteen are both Christmas scriptures good will to all men

  479. when Jesus come. Because before Jesus came there was no peace.

  480. Your cash that, but after he came, there's peace. After

  481. it came, we experienced peace. Right, And the joy of

  482. the Lord is our strength. Let me give you this perspective.

  483. What does it mean when Niemia says the job of

  484. the Lord is of strength. Have you met someone who

  485. is joyful in your life? Do you realize that someone

  486. who is joyful? Nothing you say, no bad news, You

  487. say can get the person down, especially if they know.

  488. The market can be bad, your relationship can be bad,

  489. your family can be bad. But if you have the

  490. joy of the Lord, if you have God's presence in

  491. your life, you are strong. But when you don't have

  492. joy in your life, you are weak because you don't

  493. feel like doing anything. It's not that you're physically weak,

  494. you know, you just don't have the drive. So we

  495. have so much mental health issues. A lot of people

  496. don't have joy in their life, and they're searching for

  497. joy in other things. They're searching for joy in items, things, relationships, people.

  498. They don't have it, so they search for it and

  499. they try to cope with it. All these words familiar, right,

  500. But the joy of the Lord is all strength. So

  501. God's presence does bring joy and peace.

  502. Amen.

  503. Let me show you a story I just had just yesterday,

  504. just yesterday. And you know, I would like to consider

  505. myself a scholar of life, a Bible scholar of life.

  506. I always might ask myself this question when I read

  507. the scripture, when I talk to people, when I ask

  508. questions looking in my own life, God, there's definitely a

  509. reason why you say certain things in the Bible and

  510. you do certain things because I believe that it's true.

  511. It cannot be that it's just feel good message.

  512. Only there has to be application, right, you know, it's

  513. not just geology in the brain tinkology, but there's no application.

  514. We say God can heal the sick, but we don't practice.

  515. It don't make sense to me because if we say

  516. that the Bible is your basic instruction before leaving Earth,

  517. then it should be instructions.

  518. That we follow that works.

  519. And I think God has brought me in a place

  520. where I want to test the word, want to test

  521. the scripture, want to understand the sicknas fittoms of different things.

  522. Right.

  523. Hence why Romans is it Romans romans child one talking

  524. about the renewal of our minds, right, because we renew

  525. our mind towards Christ and towards God's Kingdom, not towards

  526. the world. The world will teach you other things. So

  527. we got to be careful with what we receive.

  528. Right. So I had this conversation with yesterday. I went

  529. for a Grame's wedding.

  530. Graham used to be part of XPJ, you know, uh,

  531. and he's married with his uh sweetheart, not childhood but

  532. sweetheart Lina yesterday and I was I was there to

  533. help because he's in mahuddle and uh, you know, uh,

  534. they needed help to fetch some I say, students are okay,

  535. they didn't know ex students yesterday. They look young because

  536. they really dressed up. So I fetched some students. And

  537. I was talking to this one, a young lady in

  538. the car right there was four of us, five of us,

  539. uh yeah, five of us sorry can account sadly. And

  540. and I was just talking to her, like how she

  541. came to church? How and and she said, she said,

  542. very interesting, She said, I I grew up in a

  543. Catholic background. Uh and uh, and my mom goes to

  544. church but Chinese. She's very good girl, very just just

  545. like how to say in China, say we're quiet, you know,

  546. just following me. She's more English speaking, but she follows

  547. my mom to Chinese church, Batterist church. And she said, oh,

  548. I understand a little bit bitouinfully understand. And how she

  549. came to x was very interesting. She's been here for

  550. two years. In April, one of our campus students just

  551. approached her to uh say hi, I'm make f I

  552. think connect and then she's she actually told him said, hey,

  553. I'm actually looking for church to go to, you know,

  554. very innocent. I'm like, oh okay. Then then he he's

  555. actually from our church and he brought it over and

  556. and she said, I've never really experienced church this way

  557. because ex church people are very warm, very warm, way inviting,

  558. very friendly. And to me, it's like, yeah, this is

  559. us right as we are. We see a new visitor,

  560. we don't let you go. You know, if something you

  561. here sitting here like where warm? Sure not every well,

  562. I want to let you know that we are warm.

  563. And if you have that question, then maybe you need

  564. to start opening up and don't be so coold. It

  565. allows me to rebuild a bit la cannot. So she

  566. said she really enjoyed it. And she says she she

  567. don't know why. Every time she comes to church she

  568. feels at peace. However stressed she is, however difficult it is,

  569. however tough it is, she feels at peace. And she's

  570. not just talking about actually talking about church in general,

  571. you know, but because of course she likes, you know,

  572. she she founds community here. Then she started inviting her friends,

  573. She started inviting re believers, people who have not yet

  574. received Christ. Yet one friend to friend tree friends and

  575. they are consistent. They constantly go to church. She can

  576. go homes, you know something, you know the interesting things.

  577. Sometimes we will don't know Jesus. And I'm more consistent.

  578. It's some of us believers. It's us because I'm also

  579. there more consistent.

  580. Right.

  581. And the reason why she invited friends because the friends

  582. were stressed out with studies and all see had this

  583. person don't know Christ yet? No, but every time this

  584. person comes to church, the person say, I feel at peace.

  585. I don't understand it, but I feel that peace. And

  586. then she invited to a tree friends and they have

  587. not yet received Christ, not yet. I pray they will

  588. come to the understanding to bring these peace wherever they go.

  589. So I had a chance to explain to her about peace,

  590. because sometimes I think as believers, we kind of take

  591. it for granted. We we credit the worship band, we

  592. credit the songs, we credit the atmosphere, we credit the people.

  593. Have we ever credited God's presence? Because wherever God's presence is,

  594. there is freedom, there's joy, there's peace. God's presence. No,

  595. not not all these external things. No. Does the external

  596. things help, yes it does, But you want to know

  597. the danger, but external things. It can also be emotional.

  598. We have come to see that right, go back home,

  599. I am my mother, father or whatever?

  600. Is that true peace? No, Christ will follow you everywhere

  601. you go.

  602. No, not only come ches and happy happy.

  603. You know. Evan sang some old school song just now.

  604. Now all of us will maybe you know Christian for

  605. very long we oh No, no, I connect with the worship.

  606. What was the song? I evan.

  607. Here, I am too old school man? Matt Raymond man

  608. that one right, Met Raymond. Passion or those who are

  609. the days.

  610. Friends? Is God's presence. Don't miss it.

  611. This is why wherever I go, I can I teach

  612. you something that I hope you remember that I hope

  613. can't practice wherever I go, whichever and it's something I

  614. learning acts whatever song, song leader boring or boring or young, whatever, it.

  615. Is not damn. It is the presence of God.

  616. And it is an opportunity for me to connect with

  617. the presence of God, even if the fella tao you

  618. ninety percent of the time, because it's not the person

  619. leading the music, it is me as a worshiper. It

  620. is an opportunity for me when I'm in my.

  621. Car singing the music to invite the presence of God.

  622. And it's very very interesting because it's ready here with us.

  623. The presence God is ready here. No, if christis in

  624. you are, he's with you ready? You know?

  625. You mean I need to invite him someone, Noah, he's here.

  626. But what does worship music and all help us? It

  627. helps us to focus on him. It helps us to

  628. you know, uh, you know some some practices they meryl

  629. empty on mine. Please don't see me empty on minor, friends,

  630. And be careful with what people teach you out there.

  631. You fear peace for a moment. But the Bible is

  632. say when the evil spirit is cast out and he

  633. come back and there's nothing there, he will come back

  634. with seven friends. Do you know how to avoid that?

  635. When the ever spirit come back? Christis there got no

  636. room for ever spirits?

  637. Amen? So the presence of God is something we all have. Yes,

  638. some of us.

  639. We might be more disciplined, we might have bigger understanding,

  640. We might know how to tune into God easier.

  641. Yes, agreed.

  642. But some of us need help, right, some of us

  643. need or when I play on it, I feel it,

  644. feel the goose bumps. Friends, can I carries you. God

  645. wants you to progress beyond goose bumps. God wants you

  646. to progress beyond. Oh, I pick up like drum down

  647. here I can No. No, he wants us to progress

  648. beyond the physical things. The physical things help help, It

  649. helps our friends. I'm not saying it's not good. He does,

  650. but he wants us to progress beyond that. So don't

  651. rely on it. Oh, I can't teage you on you

  652. I can worship friends. Why you limit yourself? So I asked,

  653. I ask you this question. Why do you Why do

  654. we limit ourselves? Why do you meet vowels? Why do

  655. we limit ourselves from experiencing the fullness of Christ? And

  656. of course is there gift things and annoying things that

  657. God gives to different ones? Say God, I know one

  658. or two worship leaders are every time they come on

  659. stage the morning they singer, it's like, Wow, Lord, you

  660. are here, I mean heaven. But you want to know

  661. the sad thing want to do? These worship leaders I

  662. also know, are no longer worship leading. That I said,

  663. because it's not just about the gifting. It is also

  664. about our submission to Christ. So I need us to

  665. catch this. Yes, I started with the luggage by seeing

  666. if you don't deal with Lisa. It's very hard to

  667. ask Christ to come in now because you've got all

  668. these things that's taking our space.

  669. They're so weighty.

  670. So why Jesus said, come to me, all you who

  671. are hayby laden, surrender everything to him? What is the

  672. problem you have today? What is the word you have today?

  673. Can you surrender to God? No?

  674. Srenda cannot do anything for you? Or no? Can you

  675. strender to God? Are you holding on to you? No?

  676. No?

  677. No?

  678. Cannot the person hurt me? Jason, doctor Jason hurt me.

  679. I'm going to keep this forever so that no one

  680. will hurt me ever again. I'll throw this right of them.

  681. He's very difficult, red tiring, no friends. Sometimes the hurt

  682. is so deep it's become so power of us. Right,

  683. we're not willing to let go. We're not willing to

  684. let go. Christ called us to be peacemakers. It's a

  685. bit hard to be a peacemaker when I'm holding this.

  686. It's a bit hard to be a peacemaker when I'm.

  687. Offended by people. Correct, it's a bit hard to be

  688. a peacemaker when I worry. Oh, man.

  689. If I gonna say hello to the person, why the person?

  690. Why is the person?

  691. Fake? One? Fake one? Fake fake fake fake? Wanna scam me? La?

  692. Wanna how to be a peacemaker?

  693. Hi? No, my son learning from Uncle Roger so irritating, Ah, peacemaker.

  694. I let him sort it out himself, La.

  695. They also can read by are very busy you know, right, oh, people.

  696. One of the earlier lessons I learned in ministry is

  697. to let go of my disappointments.

  698. Friends.

  699. If I hold onto my own personal disappointment in life,

  700. are with people and all, even even church, right, I

  701. wouldn't be standing here today.

  702. Can be very honest.

  703. He's very challenging, very painful, so very painful. And someone

  704. comes up to you and you sow your entire life

  705. into that person. You pray for the person you wanted

  706. a person, and then just because you forgot one birthday,

  707. just because one weekend, you're busy, just because humor, so

  708. you know, you see something wrong, one mistake, forget you, Lah.

  709. The Church don't love me or care for me. I

  710. can go anywhere. Yeah, it's true, you can.

  711. You can.

  712. But we're called to be peacemakers, right, Not just me?

  713. You know all of us here. Matthew five nine says

  714. Jesus said, blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be

  715. called sons of How do we be a peacemaker? Well,

  716. the Bible teaches us is very clear. We do it

  717. true forgiveness, love, and sharing the gospel. Half the problems

  718. that we have in life and interest. I feel like

  719. if you remember the gospel right, we won't have the

  720. braw anymore because we keep the main thing, the main

  721. thing we do and become peacemakers through making disciples and

  722. pointing people to Jesus.

  723. That's what we need to do.

  724. Point people of Christ, not point people through a building,

  725. non point people to an idea.

  726. Point people to Christ. Jesus.

  727. That's who we should be pointing people to. Isaiah nine

  728. two says the people who walk in darkness have seen

  729. a great light. Those who dwelt in the land of

  730. the shadow of death upon them, a light has shined.

  731. Do you know that that's true for you? The message

  732. of peace and the message of hope is the message

  733. we all carry and live out.

  734. And it's not just.

  735. A message, it is a lifestyle. And it's hard. It's

  736. hard to forgive when we are wronged, and how say

  737. unjustly wrong? When we taking advantage of Why can I

  738. remind us? On two scriptures? He says John three sixteen.

  739. For Good so loved the world that he gave his

  740. only begonden Son, that whoever believes in him should not

  741. perish for the everlasting life. For God did not send

  742. his son to the world to condemn it, but that

  743. the world true him might be safe. That's the first

  744. one we receive. Let me give you the second one

  745. that a lot of people cannot forget me two today

  746. nineteen go there for making disciples of all nations.

  747. Making disciples is not just a job for full them workers.

  748. It is a job for all of us.

  749. It is hard to teach someone something when you don't

  750. practice it. That's why God purposely wants us to teach

  751. it so that we will reflect more and say, I

  752. also need to start forgiving you not how to pray

  753. something when I don't do it?

  754. Pretty hard, No, do you know it's.

  755. Tough if I would do shere some news and I

  756. don't believe in it, It's so hard you'll wavor the

  757. smell the fackness a mile away, and these kind of

  758. things right.

  759. You cannot fake it. You'll make it on our friends.

  760. Baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son,

  761. the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I've

  762. commanded you and low and with you always even.

  763. To the end of the h Amen.

  764. So friends, a few things, and I might have to

  765. release it to someone to minister. Right, we all let

  766. Daniel take that on, Okay, to minister to pray. I

  767. know you already had the au the call, but let

  768. the Holy Spirit lead you grow. Can I encourage us

  769. not to carry our baggages.

  770. To twenty twenty five Kenna?

  771. I mean you don't have to unpack it one by one, Lah,

  772. But some of us we need no, we need to

  773. actually know us inside the bag because we don't even

  774. know go through with christs as. I don't need is

  775. la Nah. I don't need this, Nah. I don't need

  776. my disappointments. I don't need my fears. I don't need

  777. my bad habits. Can you help me?

  778. I don't need it.

  779. I don't even need the bag. Can you please take

  780. the bag? Let's leave certain things in twenty twenty four behind?

  781. Can we do that?

  782. Why?

  783. So that you can run faster? Fly higher, walk longer,

  784. so that you don't have to feel the weight and

  785. the burden. Friends, so that you can experience God's peace.

  786. He wants that for you.

  787. Peace, you know, don't worry, worry, worry, worry, worry. You

  788. need very difficult to live like that. No, he wants

  789. all of us to experience peace.

  790. But sometimes we're so accustomed to they were so used

  791. to this.

  792. This has become us that we cannot let it go.

  793. Can I encourage you to let it go today?

  794. Can I encourage you to go to christ I mean,

  795. if you need to physically go to Yushang.

  796. And did you magician.

  797. You know what I'm talking about. Hey, We're not a loner.

  798. Hebrews chung One says. Therefore we also, since we are

  799. surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us

  800. lay aside every weight, Lay aside, every weight, lay a side,

  801. every weight, every scene were so easily and stance, lay

  802. a side. Don'tant touch it. No, no, no, no, not

  803. for me. Let us run with endurance the race that is.

  804. Set before us. Can we do that? Can we do that?

  805. As we think about the new year, Lord, I want

  806. to walk in the new year with peace. Lord, I

  807. want to forgive my boss for maybe promising me something

  808. and not. I'm not going to rely on my boss

  809. for my promotion. I'm going to rely on you for

  810. my promotion. I'm not going to rely on my parents

  811. to change, but I'm going to rely on you to

  812. teach me how to be a blessing to them.

  813. I'm not going to rely on my spouse to just

  814. know what to do.

  815. No, I'm going to lie on you to teach me

  816. how can I be a better spouse so that I

  817. can be a blessing to them. I'm not going to

  818. rely on the market, because the market really cannot cannot predict.

  819. I'm not going to rely on people for my own

  820. growth of faith, but I'm gonna work with them. I'm

  821. not gonna rely all these things. I'm going to rely

  822. on you, Christ. I'm going to rely on you God.

  823. I'm going to rely on you. I don't understand things.

  824. I don't fully get it. Give me understanding. I don't

  825. fully understand things. Hey, let me be discipled. Do you

  826. know what discipleship? Based discipleship is working with someone else?

  827. You don't fully understand it, we don't fully understand it.
