they watch movie. That's how they study. A lot of

us are visual learners. So sometimes when you write, you

actually imagine or remember the phrase.

You know.

So all these things that you do are is again

not just to so that we can be a top student,

you know, but more of like so that you can

grow right, so that you can download into your spirit. Okay,

but if you're writing notes, the title my message is

morning is don't carry your baggages to twenty twenty five.

Twenty four four is this year don't carry your baggages

the way. But some of us we've got time. Then

we'll go on a retreat, go on family holiday. Then

you got time to like think, reflect on life, how

it thing's been. You know, last week, you know, thankfully

me and my family were able to go for a

family holiday to the beach. But praise the Lord, Malaysia

is a monsoon season in the beach right now, especially

east coast, so it was rain and rain and rain,

and we were like literally checking the weather, you know,

like UK, you always check weather, check weather, and then

you know, try and find all gods. Then first of God,

the more we got there, rain then go back, then

gotta start there. We're like, what, God, are you playing

tricks on us?

Can I ask us a question? How are you doing

so far? It's one more mon to the new year.

Can we take some time to take stock of our

lives and adjust if we need to?

The one thing that I realized, uh, you know, as

I guess, the older you grow, the more I become. Uh,

I realized that you may not fully be able to

control everything.

adjustment a little bit. You know, I've got some people

are the way they adjust is are they just quit

and leave? And I don't think that's very wise. Last, Okay,

we all have to do that. Reset, reboot, right. You

That's a question. So can we take some time today?

Can I encourage you if you're not maybe a busy

main thing about something, but can we take some time

to take stock of our lives today?

It's very important to do that.

Can we reflect a little bit on how things have

been in the past year, and if we can make

better decisions, you want to make better decisions? Who here

don't want to make better decisions? Okay, everybody wants to

make better decisions. There's a great question. God, no, none

better decisions.

It's life is all about making decisions, right, what to eat,

whether I need wake up today, what to wear for

you know, for church? What I'm going to leave home?

You know, now it's like leaving home is like earlier

and early and earlier. I've never imagined now that I

have to leave home two and a half hours before

my work. Oh my goodness, I'm the first time of office,

you know, I cost any time after that, I'm confirmed

late on not because of me, but because of the traffic.

before we well, as we take stock, I just want

to highlight a few things for us to consider. Okay,

mission tripment to India. I went with a girl of brothers.

And we went and I was leading a team and

I tell you it's one of the best trips ever

I've ever had overseas beautiful, awesome places that the tour

guy will never take you. First trip went in India, Uh,

and then after that, you know, we also decide to

shave our head.

And then we're packing.

Okay because two weeks yeah hot, now hot, So imagine

now four guys, one Indian, three Chinese in the middle

of everyone else is Indian. Then we were like, well,

we really stuck up, stuck up like a salt thumb.

So packed that pack and then I first time pack.

You want to pack like I want to be smart, right,

you know, but never really packed overseas and in India

we had to buy stuff Like here, Malaysia is so convenient.

You can just go to seven eleven, go to some

they got no more guys, there is like no more.

We were at a place I forgot what place is called.

We want to be hard and there's no more in

So I packed and someone gave me the best advice

things that you should invest in is disposable underwear.

Whatever tip that people give you, you must test it

up before you go and do it okay. So I

was so confident with dispersed advice. I said, yes, I

will buy everything disposable underwear. I will only wear one

underwear right with me. There's cloth on the way there,

but I had underwear two weeks of our friends. I

went there, and then time to change underwear, change the underwear.

Realize two things. One is it was too small, and

I think I realized it was super uncomfortable. Of course,

it was not underware to buy anyway. I had to

get creative. So yeah, I live at it. You want

and we are carrying this heavy laden bag to twenty

two five. And then when we are here, we want

to do things. I want to achieve my dreams. I

want to, you know, do stuff my family. But it's

so hard. God, Why isn't so hard? Why is it

so hard to do things? And you're holding a heavy bag?

Friends? Why is it so hard? God? I pray, I

believe in you. Let go of the bag. But this

bag is important, all the stuff I need. Let go

of the bag.

As I'm sharing this with you, I just realized there's

a scripture in the Bible that says Jesus asks is

a bost to go out to by two. Don't bring

anything by your crook, don't even bring money. Wherever house

open for you, go in wherever house don't open for you.

Do this, shake the dust off and what off?

We want to carry a huge back my toiletry inside

everything else inside? So, friends, can I encourite you this morning?

Leave your luggage in twenty twenty four because it's much

easier to do things when you don't have anything heavy.

place where we are carrying this heavy back throughout twenty

twenty four, because this was stuff from twenty twenty three.

add more things, gets heavier, right, it gets heavier, it

gets harder to walk, and then we give up. I'm

to allow him to move in your life freely. It

is a gift that we accept. This why our faith

a choice. You still have to make a choice to something.

How many others things that we know better pride. One

of the biggest lessons I've learned in my life is submission.

And how big or how great or how experienced or

how knowledgeable I am. Even though I know more than

my leaders, I submit because the moment I have this,

I become like Lucifer yell pride.

He's thinking no more. God gave him the gift.

He performs, perform everyone he thinks he's got.

Pride is so sneaky. How many of us have prime

in our life? No? That the past.

of peace. What does Jesus bring to us? Have you

thought about it? Oh, he gives us eternal life. Oh,

What does Jesus actually bring to us? Ever thought about

it before? Jesus brings to us God's presence?

He does.

He brings the presence of God through the Holy Spirit.

more understanding. He brings God's presence through the Holy Spirit.

You know, Jesus said, I'm gonna go away. I'm gonna

send you a helper. And when you receive Christ into

your life, you receive the Holy Spirit. Because God is

true in one. That's why we believe. Right, people don't

What does God's presence bring? We have God, we have Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is God's presence. So what does it

bring to us God's presence? Let me read some scripture

Psalm sixteen eleven. You will show me the path of

life in your presence is fullness of joy. Joy means

are happy all the time.

you know, you just don't have the drive. So we

have so much mental health issues. A lot of people

don't have joy in their life, and they're searching for

joy in other things. They're searching for joy in items, things, relationships, people.

They don't have it, so they search for it and

they try to cope with it. All these words familiar, right,

But the joy of the Lord is all strength. So

God's presence does bring joy and peace.

Let me show you a story I just had just yesterday,

just yesterday. And you know, I would like to consider

myself a scholar of life, a Bible scholar of life.

I always might ask myself this question when I read

the scripture, when I talk to people, when I ask

questions looking in my own life, God, there's definitely a

reason why you say certain things in the Bible and

you do certain things because I believe that it's true.

It cannot be that it's just feel good message.

Only there has to be application, right, you know, it's

not just geology in the brain tinkology, but there's no application.

We say God can heal the sick, but we don't practice.

It don't make sense to me because if we say

that the Bible is your basic instruction before leaving Earth,

then it should be instructions.

That we follow that works.

And I think God has brought me in a place

where I want to test the word, want to test

the scripture, want to understand the sicknas fittoms of different things.

Right.

Hence why Romans is it Romans romans child one talking

about the renewal of our minds, right, because we renew

our mind towards Christ and towards God's Kingdom, not towards

the world. The world will teach you other things. So

we got to be careful with what we receive.

Right. So I had this conversation with yesterday. I went

for a Grame's wedding.

Graham used to be part of XPJ, you know, uh,

and he's married with his uh sweetheart, not childhood but

sweetheart Lina yesterday and I was I was there to

help because he's in mahuddle and uh, you know, uh,

they needed help to fetch some I say, students are okay,

they didn't know ex students yesterday. They look young because

they really dressed up. So I fetched some students. And

I was talking to this one, a young lady in

the car right there was four of us, five of us,

uh yeah, five of us sorry can account sadly. And

and I was just talking to her, like how she

came to church? How and and she said, she said,

very interesting, She said, I I grew up in a

Catholic background. Uh and uh, and my mom goes to

church but Chinese. She's very good girl, very just just

like how to say in China, say we're quiet, you know,

just following me. She's more English speaking, but she follows

my mom to Chinese church, Batterist church. And she said, oh,

I understand a little bit bitouinfully understand. And how she

came to x was very interesting. She's been here for

two years. In April, one of our campus students just

approached her to uh say hi, I'm make f I

think connect and then she's she actually told him said, hey,

I'm actually looking for church to go to, you know,

very innocent. I'm like, oh okay. Then then he he's

actually from our church and he brought it over and

and she said, I've never really experienced church this way

because ex church people are very warm, very warm, way inviting,

very friendly. And to me, it's like, yeah, this is

us right as we are. We see a new visitor,

we don't let you go. You know, if something you

here sitting here like where warm? Sure not every well,

I want to let you know that we are warm.

And if you have that question, then maybe you need

to start opening up and don't be so coold. It

allows me to rebuild a bit la cannot. So she

said she really enjoyed it. And she says she she

don't know why. Every time she comes to church she

feels at peace. However stressed she is, however difficult it is,

however tough it is, she feels at peace. And she's

not just talking about actually talking about church in general,

she she founds community here. Then she started inviting her friends,

She started inviting re believers, people who have not yet

received Christ. Yet one friend to friend tree friends and

they are consistent. They constantly go to church. She can

go homes, you know something, you know the interesting things.

Sometimes we will don't know Jesus. And I'm more consistent.

It's some of us believers. It's us because I'm also

there more consistent.

And the reason why she invited friends because the friends

were stressed out with studies and all see had this

person don't know Christ yet? No, but every time this

person comes to church, the person say, I feel at peace.

I don't understand it, but I feel that peace. And

then she invited to a tree friends and they have

not yet received Christ, not yet. I pray they will

come to the understanding to bring these peace wherever they go.

So I had a chance to explain to her about peace,

because sometimes I think as believers, we kind of take

it for granted. We we credit the worship band, we

credit the songs, we credit the atmosphere, we credit the people.

Have we ever credited God's presence? Because wherever God's presence is,

there is freedom, there's joy, there's peace. God's presence. No,

not not all these external things. No. Does the external

things help, yes it does, But you want to know

the danger, but external things. It can also be emotional.

We have come to see that right, go back home,

I am my mother, father or whatever?

Is that true peace? No, Christ will follow you everywhere

you go.
