  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. Okay. So today I'm gonna be continuing on this series, Okay,

  4. coming to the finishing line eventually soon on the seven

  5. Churches in the Book of Revelations. So turned with me

  6. to Revelations chapter three. And yes, before I forget, I

  7. just want to send the woman's regards from Pastor Kenneth

  8. and pass Andra to you all as well. Okay, Revelations

  9. chapter three, and then I will begin by praying. Okay,

  10. let's start with a world prayer. Hello, Yeah, Father, we

  11. thank you for this wonderful day that we can be here. Lord,

  12. even as we go through this very important and powerful

  13. scripture here about the church in Sadis, we pray that

  14. you will open our hearts really to watch, to remember

  15. and to Lord really attend, Father God, with any areas

  16. in our lives. Father God, that you have called us

  17. to Father, and so Lord today we pray that your word,

  18. Father God, it will do its powerful work to minister

  19. to us, to bring life, to bring guidance, Father God,

  20. correction as well, Father God into our lives, so that

  21. law that we will continue to prosper continue, Father God,

  22. to living the life that you intend for us, Father God,

  23. And so we commit this time onto your law. Holy Spirit,

  24. be with us in Jesus my name. We pray. Amen.

  25. All right. Revelations Chapter three, I'm gonna read. We'll do

  26. maybe I will read line by line and I will

  27. expound it, and then we will Yeah, we will go

  28. a bit more. Okay. Chapter three, verse one, and he

  29. says here the title says the dead Church. Okay, we

  30. started with the loveless church, the persecuted church, the compromising church,

  31. the corrupt church, and the dead church. How come I

  32. all right? And also solemn? It gets worse and worse

  33. and worse, like, oh my goodness, you just tell you

  34. one thing. You know, sometimes you know, you think you

  35. think we are like this, You know we are doing well.

  36. But yet when it comes to God's measurement, I think

  37. he doesn't means words. You know. God is not in

  38. the business or a everybody gets a gift. Everybody gets

  39. a consolation, and not of price. No, he measures it.

  40. He measures and examines us very closely. He tells us

  41. the condition that we ought to not like someone who

  42. is angry. I don't think he's fully. Of course, he

  43. is stern and are very straight in certain things. But

  44. he tells us and corrects us like I will say,

  45. like a father, and also like a doctor as well. Okay,

  46. you don't want to see a doctor who just gives

  47. you positivity. Yeah, it's okay, you no problem, Just continue

  48. eating what you want. A doctor, the right doctor will

  49. give you the right diagnosis and tell you better watch

  50. what you eat. Your cholesterol is high. Yeah, your cholesterol

  51. is not high, it's just on the higher standard. No, okay,

  52. it's high. Okay, all right. So it says here the

  53. dead church, and in verse one he says, and to

  54. the Angel of the Church in sardis right these things,

  55. says he who has the seven spirits of God and

  56. the seven stars. I know your works you, that you

  57. have a name, that you are alive, but you are dead.

  58. Let me continue reading on. Be watchful and strengthen the

  59. things which remain. They are ready to die, for I

  60. have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore

  61. how you have received and heard. Hold fast and repent. Therefore,

  62. if you will not watch, I will come upon you

  63. as a thief, and you will not know what hour

  64. I will come upon you. You have a few names

  65. even in Sardis, who have not dey found their garments.

  66. And they shall walk with me in white, for they

  67. are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments.

  68. And I will not blot out his line name from

  69. the book of Life, but I will confess his name

  70. before my father and before his angels. He who has

  71. an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to

  72. the churches. Oh, very strong words from the Lord himself. Okay,

  73. Now this is talking to the church in sidi is. Okay,

  74. And I want to draw attention to the first verse

  75. which says these things, says he who has the seventh

  76. spirits of God and the seven Stars. Let's take that

  77. clearer out of the way first, so that you guys

  78. know what the Lord is speaking to. So if you

  79. know the point past messages on this series, you know

  80. not always in every letter to the churches that the

  81. Lord always introduced himself again and again, I keep repeating this.

  82. The Lord repeats himself as not in the first Church,

  83. as the one who holds the seven stars in his

  84. right hand, who was in the midst of the in

  85. the midst of the seven lampstep. So is Jesus as

  86. a priest. Okay, And you're seeing Jesus, who was the

  87. first and the last, who was there and came to life,

  88. the one who who was, who who overcame death as well,

  89. who holds the keys to life. In every letter, Jesus

  90. introduces himself differently. And why because he has he has

  91. a specific message and a specific appearance that he wanted

  92. to appear to these churches to give them both a

  93. warning and to give them a hope. Okay, to give

  94. them a warning and to give them a hope. Okay.

  95. And and you and we see here to the Church

  96. of Sadist Jesus introduces himself or appears to them as

  97. the one who has the seventh spirits of God and

  98. the seven Stars. Now these are two separate things. What

  99. is the seventh spirits of God? I'm not gonna go

  100. into too much into it, but just to briefly introduce

  101. your you guys to what it is, or if you

  102. go to my slide to the next line. Okay, So

  103. the seventh spirits of God are here. You can go

  104. to the Old Testaments. I'm not going to go into

  105. it because it's very long. These are the Spirit of

  106. the Lord, okay, okay, And the Spirit of knowledge, the

  107. spirit of understanding, the Spirit of wisdom, the spirit of counsel,

  108. the Spirit of Might, and the spirit of the fear

  109. of the Lord. Does that mean there are seven persons

  110. in there? No? Okay. The spirit is not talking about

  111. the spirit of a person, but the manifold spirit, manifestation,

  112. or you can call it the officers or the power

  113. or the ministry that is reflected through the Holy Spirit. Okay.

  114. And all of these are one and full in Jesus Christ. Okay.

  115. There are one and there are. When I say there

  116. are one means that they do not lack one another.

  117. They are one. They all learn to one another. They

  118. are all the same, part of the same being. Okay,

  119. they do not. They are just like hey, they exists

  120. only one without the other. There are one, and they

  121. are full, and they are complete in Christ. Christ is

  122. the full display of all of that. Okay. So now

  123. imagine Jesus comes and say that I am the one

  124. who has the seventh spirits of God. On one hand,

  125. and on the other hand, it says, there and the

  126. seven stars. So what do the seven stars actually represent?

  127. If you read the earlier passages, you will know that

  128. the seven stars represents the churches. Okay, So on one hand,

  129. Jesus has the Seventh Spirits and on the other hand

  130. the seven Stars. One is the manifestations of the ministries

  131. and the fullness of the Holy Spirit with Jesus is

  132. and the other hand the churches. So Jesus also died

  133. for the church. The church is called to be the

  134. bride for Christ. And both of these are needed hand.

  135. But when you bring them together, what is Christ doing?

  136. What is Christ's message by bringing these two together? And

  137. to his audience? Okay, what does it mean? Anybody want

  138. to guess? Why did Jesus bring this two together? The

  139. Seventh Spirits and the seven Stars? My understanding, Okay, this

  140. is my understanding. I'm not saying this God, this man understanding. Okay.

  141. What it means is Jesus is weighing the church. And

  142. that say what I'm saying, He examines and he weighs.

  143. When you weigh something, there must be a scale. It

  144. cannot weigh against nothing, you know what I mean, Not

  145. against the world, nothing else. There's full measure there. We

  146. are weigh against the fullness and the completeness is the

  147. Holy Spirit fully reflected in Christ, the seventh spirits of

  148. the Lord. And the Church, which is bought safe redeem

  149. by Christ himself, is also way with the Holy Spirit

  150. as well. You know what I'm saying or not. Jesus

  151. is the fullness himself, and he saved the church, the

  152. believers as a community. Okay, And there is a standard

  153. that we are called to and which is way against

  154. the seven spirits of God. And that's say why I'm saying, no,

  155. this is what it means. And we know that I

  156. believe this is true because we read the later verses.

  157. It gives us a kid why this is very credible.

  158. He say, it's what I know your works. Ah, Jesus

  159. has done the work. Okay, Jesus has done the work.

  160. He has the ministry, he has the completeness. But yet

  161. he sees the church. They have names, but not only

  162. just their names, because of what when he weighs them,

  163. he sees their works as well. And that and then

  164. he goes on to say that after examining you, that

  165. you have a name, and you think you are alive,

  166. but yet you are dead. And we know they are

  167. there not because hey, you're going to put they are

  168. dead because it's weighed against the seven spirits of the

  169. h makes sense. And someone I was saying, so every time,

  170. when a lot of times the key to understanding is

  171. always within the scripture. Don't try to That's what we

  172. mean that always interpret things within the scripture. Don't get outside.

  173. You see what I'm saying. Now, if you go out,

  174. you know it tends to be. I'm not saying it's

  175. always wrong. It can, It's possible. The safest way is

  176. always too beIN to interpret within the scripture. The keys

  177. and the logs are always inside there, and you stay

  178. within there. Okay. So we see that God is examining, okay,

  179. and he found that the church is dead. Okay, so

  180. I've come to examine, and I found that the church

  181. is that even though you have a name, but you

  182. are dead. And then from there on, after the conclusion,

  183. he goes into what the doctors do. The doctor don't

  184. just say that, hey, you have high cholesterol or you

  185. have this, and that he tells you what you need

  186. to do next. Okay, So now it's not just the diagnosis.

  187. Now is the recommendation. Now it's the medication. Okay, what

  188. is the recommendation? And medication. In verse two, it says,

  189. be watchful and strengthen the things which remain. They are

  190. ready to die for. I have not found your works perfect.

  191. Before gone again, it says, I have not found Okay,

  192. Jesus is like the auditor. It's like like the auditor

  193. is checking everything here because he bought the seven Spirits

  194. of God. Okay, he's lived through with it and he's

  195. examining and he said, you are not perfect. But you

  196. asked that. Hey, but Jesus, you know, I thought we

  197. Christians are living by grace and we're not supposed to

  198. be working for our salvage. Should supposed so difficult. You know.

  199. Some of you say, hey, when I believe became a Christian,

  200. I didn't buy for this. I didn't sign up for this,

  201. you know, such a difficult holy life. And then oh

  202. I have to live up to standard. It's like being

  203. a child of a very difficult and high high standard parent.

  204. You know, you know what I'm saying. You know, it's like, ah,

  205. some people say Asian parent a not enough, No, A

  206. say A plus plus one and not if not? You know,

  207. some people will say already failure, you know, but it's

  208. not a good thing. Okay, but wait, how can such

  209. a thing? I thought, it's just a grace. But if

  210. you read this entire versus, this entire scripture, and especially

  211. in verse four, you will see this particular word. Okay,

  212. verse four it says, you have a few names, even

  213. in Saudis, who have not defiled their garments, and they

  214. shall walk with me in white. Okay. He talks about

  215. believers who have not defiled themselves. Okay, But the qual

  216. that Jesus look for them, he didn't say, Oh, they

  217. were loving, they were kind, they were gracious. What is

  218. that one word that Jesus described them? Because for they

  219. are worthy? The word worthy. So turn to your neighbor

  220. now and ask yourself and ask them, are you worthy? Worthy? No?

  221. I actually prepared this message, right, I prepared a serious message,

  222. and this word didn't come up to me until I

  223. came this morning. You know, are you worthy? Are you

  224. worthy to become a Jedi? Are you a worthy Jedi?

  225. Too old to become a Jedi? Or whatever it is? Okay, worthiness,

  226. it's such a word that we hardly use nowadays because

  227. now people tend to be entitled. Oh, the word opposite

  228. of worthiness is entitled. Are you worthy? You don't apply.

  229. You don't get a job because of a certain gender,

  230. or a certain race, or a certain connection. You get

  231. a job, you get a promotion because you are worthy.

  232. But it's worthy even in the gospel. Are you safe

  233. because you are worthy? I get safe because I was

  234. a kinder person than so and so and so, I

  235. was nicer. I gave this. No, none is worthy, trua.

  236. We are all none. We're not all not worthy to

  237. be said, we're not not worthy. Not. We only say,

  238. by the grace of God true. Not think about it

  239. another time? Where's my where's my daughter? For? I can't

  240. see them? Do nowhere? Oh yeah, they're hiding there. She's like, bye.

  241. Not does she have to do anything to become my daughter?

  242. To be born? Before she was born, that she had

  243. to fill up, perform look a certain high will score straight? Okay,

  244. tell my wife you can, you can, you can? You

  245. can get her to be born out ready qualified? Ready, there,

  246. you become my daughter. You inherit my chunk name. You

  247. are worthy to inherit the chunk name. Okay? Do they

  248. do that? No? I had no idea how she would

  249. look like, how she would behave, how naughty she would

  250. be that she's not naughty, that she's an angel. I

  251. do nothing to inherit to be my daughter. It is

  252. purely what unconditional corent Now so many things. There are

  253. things that can do it like they are conditional. But

  254. there are things in life that require us to be worthy.

  255. We are safe not based on our works, but when

  256. we are safe already, we are called to live worthy

  257. of our calling makes sense or not. So when you

  258. are safe, Readia, there is a worthiness that you live

  259. up to. That means when we are all say there,

  260. it's a standard we are live, we are called to.

  261. Why is this concept of wordiness so important? You know? No, no,

  262. why is this concept of wordiness so important? You know

  263. that in the Bible, in the Book of Revelations that

  264. there is a scene where John was taken up okay,

  265. and there was a seal that no one could open.

  266. The elders and everyone else couldn't open. And he started

  267. to weep. Hey, I can't remember if someone can look

  268. for the scripture, he started to whip. Then someone said

  269. that don't weep before, because the Lamb of God is here,

  270. and the Lamb of God is worthy to open the scroll.

  271. You know what I'm saying. Now, So Jesus was not

  272. just the gracious one. He is worthy because he lived

  273. the life of righteousness, fullness of it, and died for

  274. us who were not worthy. So in every measure he

  275. was worthy. And because of his worthiness he could open

  276. the seal. You know what I'm saying now. Nobody can

  277. just simply open the seit because I want to, because

  278. I am this. No, No, you have to earn to

  279. become worthy to open the seal. So all the earth

  280. no one could open. But the lamb of God was

  281. worthy as well, and so all of us were also

  282. called to live to a world lifestyle of wordiness, to

  283. a calling there is to be worthy before God as well.

  284. And that is why you see. So I'm not teaching

  285. contradicting things. No, yeah, me right. My daughter cannot be

  286. worthy enough to be my daughter one. You know you

  287. know what I'm saying. They say I am worthy they

  288. did today, I'm your daughter, I'm your son today. No,

  289. you always be my son. You will always be my daughter.

  290. But but there are things that you do in school,

  291. in church, or anywhere else that I can be very

  292. unpleased with. So you cannot be doing anything to become

  293. my daughter. But it's your job and responsibility to leave

  294. a life that will please me. Ah, you know what

  295. I'm saying. Not everyone understand now? You are all all

  296. of us, Yeah, are someone's sons and daughters trouna some

  297. of you who do not have sons and daughters in it. There's

  298. nothing your children can do to earn your love more

  299. or anything else. But of course there are things that

  300. they can do. They can please you. This please you

  301. as well. That is entirely there responsibility. So we are safe, yes,

  302. But are we called to live life pleasing to God? Yes?

  303. So daily every day you ask yourself, are you pleasing

  304. your heavenly father? Are you living a life that is worthy? Okay?

  305. Turn your neighbor, are you living a life there is worthy?

  306. Makes sense? Or no? Am I am? I am? I

  307. talking sense here? I'm not confusing you are. So if

  308. someone comes to your to your life and gives you

  309. a brand of theology or Christianity, say you are saying

  310. you don't have to have anything else to do. He

  311. says like, you just need to be have a chuk

  312. name and you can do whatever you want. You don't care,

  313. do whatever you want? No, no such thing one Okay

  314. we are, we have, we have, we bear the name

  315. of Christ in our lives. We are called to live

  316. up to that standard. Makes sense, So that will set

  317. the rules. I can set a bit of standard for

  318. everyone here. Okay, so he says, yeah, let me come

  319. back again the verse two. Be watchful and strengthen the

  320. things which remain. They are ready to die. Now, why

  321. did Jesus say that? You know? Continue to watch. Don't worry.

  322. I'm halfway downe ready, almost done. Ready, okay, be ready

  323. and watchful, be watchful and strengthen the things. The city

  324. of sadists. I'm not going to geek out too much. Okay. Uh,

  325. it's not past having world will say that I'm too

  326. gieky already he labeled me. He labeled me giky. Know

  327. how there he knows he labeled me giky. You know

  328. it's like geeky. Okay, I am a gig Okay. The

  329. city of sardis Okay, I'm not gonna go too much

  330. into it, okay. Uh. It's it's actually a very powerful city,

  331. very powerful, and what is most known for is that

  332. it's very high up on the cliff elevator and it

  333. has strong walls. Very good, very good walls. Okay, I

  334. don't know. I have a picture bies okay, low wolves,

  335. and because of their walls, they live very confidently that

  336. nobody will be able to breach their defenses. Okay. But

  337. because of this, history actually reveals that the city of

  338. Sardia has had actually been invaded and fully infiltrated twice before,

  339. and one prominently and once prominently by the Persians. And

  340. how did they do it. They actually manage to find

  341. a crevice on one of the walls, and they climb

  342. and they send one guy okay to climb up. I

  343. think it's about one thousand feet something like that, Okay,

  344. to climb all the way and open the front door. Okay.

  345. And so it's like a lot of times are the

  346. city is. Especially here, the names actually quite linked into

  347. the analogy or the message that Jesus is always referring to.

  348. Ever you talk about, all the different cities always have

  349. a link as well. So when Jesus talks about be

  350. watchful and strengthen the things which remain to the people

  351. in Sadis, they actually know what Jesus is talking about

  352. up because it's related to their their their heritage, their history,

  353. their culture, culture, their history, of where they come from, okay,

  354. and they knew that this. Despite how majestic and strong

  355. this city is, they have fallen before, and they fell

  356. because they were not watchful. Okay, they were not watchful.

  357. So this message became very not just clear clear, it

  358. became very close to them. Instead. I'm saying, message can

  359. be clear, but their messages they are close to you.

  360. It was very close to the people's side. It's because

  361. they knew what it meant. Okay, So Jesus went for

  362. a message that was clear and close to them and

  363. said that be watchful and strengthen the things which remain.

  364. But they are ready to die. He's says this. It's

  365. not just you have a cravice. You watch, they still remain.

  366. They are still there, and you think you are safe,

  367. but watch closely. They are actually dead and they are

  368. dying you. Because you watch this balcony or this area

  369. this you know this for this tower, they look safe

  370. you so you never go and manage them. And because

  371. of that, your eyes betray you, and eventually the foundation

  372. will betray you as well. And because of that, your

  373. whole entire city becomes compromised. And the same way it

  374. is to be said about the church and also to

  375. the life and the devotion of every believer. That you

  376. look at it, you think of it as alive, as healthy.

  377. But yet when God weighs not according to the eyes

  378. of man, but according to the seven spirits of the Lord,

  379. it is dead. Makes sense? It is dead? Okay? And

  380. so you know, the question is, you know what know?

  381. How do we continue to have this awareness, this vigilance

  382. to make sure that things are not dead? Okay? In

  383. adverse three, it says, remember therefore, how you have received

  384. and heard, hold fast and repent. Okay. Therefore, if you

  385. will not watch our come upon you as a thief,

  386. and you will not know what our will come upon you, Okay, Okay.

  387. So the first thing that we have to do is

  388. to remember, okay, how many of you are very good

  389. and remembering things? How many of you are very bad

  390. and remembering things? Hands down? That's okay. I know we're

  391. too many honest people here already, We're all ready to

  392. raise raise their hands already, most of us, I think,

  393. I mean, I know a few people who are good

  394. remembering things, but many of us are not very good

  395. and remembering things. It's not that we're not good remembering,

  396. and we just have selective remembrance. We have selective memory.

  397. The things you know, we know when are things that

  398. we remember, the things we ought to remember when we

  399. are in pain, when we are in danger, when we

  400. are at loss. So now and these three things are

  401. will make you remember even you forgot. You don't need

  402. your spouse to remind you. Oh I should remember. I

  403. remember things I tell you when something bad happens. You

  404. can remember things are five, ten, twenty, thirty years ago,

  405. one and all into the detail you know you got

  406. I mean right, so it's not locked away. It's just

  407. a lot of times you never look into it, and

  408. all you're like, oh so pain, loss and all these

  409. things have a really powerful way of reminding us. That's

  410. why sometimes I get irritated when I tell my children

  411. and say, hey, do you remember. No, it's not that

  412. you don't remember. It's not important to you. That's why

  413. you don't remember. That's my daughter not here. But we're

  414. all the same. We've been there before, isn't it. We

  415. don't remember. It's not because we know. It's not that

  416. we have bad Maria. I think yes, but there's like

  417. zero point zero one percent. It's just that it hasn't

  418. hurt you yet, isn't it He hasn't hurt you yet.

  419. That's why I we say, the older fox I have

  420. Sometimes they have very good memory on certain things. You

  421. know why, because they've been true a lot before. You

  422. know what I mean? Right, It's not they had better memory.

  423. It's just that because of the soul and the pain

  424. they went through, it was stilled in their mind. They

  425. keep telling us, remember do this, remember, remember, remember, remember

  426. the tone of the fire. Because you're not your house

  427. will burned down the scale. You've seen things before, it

  428. hurts before. That's why they remember. But and Jesus caused

  429. them to remember. Remember what Therefore, how you have received?

  430. And heard say Remember how you not when, and not

  431. how you have received? Remember who you were when you

  432. received the grace of God? Who you really are before this,

  433. before you were made worthy by God, before you were

  434. called by God? Who were you? You were lost? You

  435. were nothing. You didn't get anything, You didn't earn anything,

  436. you freely received it. So now don't be so proud

  437. about things and saying not you think that you got

  438. saved because you did a law of devotion and Bible study. No,

  439. you're saved by the grace of God. But because you

  440. have been given such a great privilege, you need to

  441. do your devotion. You need to do your Bible study,

  442. you need to take time to reflect, You need to

  443. keep I would say this are keep traditions. Okay, turn

  444. to your neighbor and say, do you keep traditions? The

  445. power of traditions are so important, you know, so important

  446. that Jesus even tells the church to keep traditions. You know,

  447. you know what the two traditions that every church are

  448. called to keep to. While the two keep traditions, communion

  449. and baptism must always never depart. It must never depart.

  450. Some people call it tradition. Some people call it what's

  451. the word? Uh, it's not the world anyway. So these

  452. are things that we must remember and keep again. Remember therefore,

  453. how you have received and how you have heard, hold

  454. fast and repent. Okay, So we are called to remember

  455. the things. Okay, we are called to hold fast. Holding

  456. fast means what to keep, to care, it's not just

  457. the whole time. To keep and to care, to not

  458. let go and hold on something else. You know what

  459. I'm saying. What I'm saying, No, to not let go.

  460. A lot of times are we you know, we we

  461. think it's important. But yet a lot of times we

  462. make decisions we don't realize it that we start to

  463. we take one hand off us, tell you one hand

  464. of us. Then you feel like, hey, steady, ready, Then

  465. you leg go the other hand. You start to move

  466. on already you think that this is the will of God. Ready. Oh,

  467. then you move on ready, But you don't realize it's

  468. a different trail, it's a different house, it's a different

  469. it's a different path that it's leading you to as well.

  470. But God is saying, keep to the things that you

  471. have received and hurt, and you have to continue to repent. Nowadays,

  472. a lot of other places don't like to teach the

  473. word repentance. Do you know that every day you repent.

  474. When you repent, you continue repenting. When you confess, you

  475. continue confessing. You're you don't do it once you know,

  476. you continually do it. You repent, you continually repent. You

  477. know what I'm saying. Now, it doesn't mean you do

  478. want you turn, you go back to the straight path again.

  479. You turn, really change your direction, you keep to the

  480. correct direction. You get me in right, just because there's

  481. a behind. You turn your changing direction again. Okay, you continue,

  482. doesn't mean there's a start, but you turn. No, you repent,

  483. you change, you continue this path ready, And that's what

  484. I'm saying. No, So every day we have to continue

  485. repenting because we are all at a walk. We all

  486. have this problem that we have we live with, which

  487. is called the flesh that is always tempting us. Okay,

  488. this is always tempting us. Okay, so we have to remember,

  489. we have to keep and we have to repent. Now.

  490. I want to draw to a close here, Okay, but

  491. I want to make this more practical. Okay, I keep

  492. this very simple and practical. Okay. I want us to

  493. really take time to really consider what God has taught

  494. us today, to really ask ourselves to examine ourselves, especially

  495. as we come to the end of twenty twenty four.

  496. Are we living our lives to the standard and to

  497. the calling according to Jesus Christ to why it is

  498. called us to not just according to what to your neighbor,

  499. or I'm better than him, or I'm better than no,

  500. so and so. Oh, this is the Christian lives. I

  501. think it's blessed. No, it's according the true measurement of

  502. any Christian life is always Christima self. May no mistake.

  503. You never live your comparison, your benchmark of your life

  504. right now. It's not the other person is not YouTube,

  505. it's not tick dot. The comparison has always been Christ.

  506. If you lived according to another person's standard, to the

  507. world standard of Christianity, you will get lost. I have

  508. a whole entireement about it before. I told you guys before,

  509. remember about abortion, remember about wokeness. Before you live your

  510. life according to that, you will get confused. You will

  511. think abortion it's okay. You will think wakeness is okay.

  512. You will think everything is okay. No, the true standard

  513. and measure of our lives is Christ. And you're saying now,

  514. the true measure is Christ. So when you when you

  515. live to Christ, you can totally see what it is. Now.

  516. I'll go through a check list here. Okay, there's a

  517. checklist for myself and checklist for all of us here

  518. as we take time to ask ourselves, how have we

  519. lived up to the calling of God part of the world.

  520. I put it into a three three to four slightlyah,

  521. but I'm just gonna go through some of it quickly.

  522. Examining our relationship with God. First one, do I love

  523. God more? Deeply and passionately? Ask yourself? You know, if

  524. you've been married? Do I love my wife more? And

  525. my husband more? Do I actually love my children a

  526. bit more? When I say love, it's not like just feelings,

  527. you know, you get me right, It's not just feelings,

  528. you know, it's like, hey, do I think about them more?

  529. And my kinder and my gentler? Do I desire more good?

  530. Then you say do I love God more? It's like

  531. do I really treasure Him more? Is He more important

  532. in my life? Next? One? Do I live with greater

  533. reverence and all of God? Is He bigger right now?

  534. In my life? You know? See what I'm saying? Is

  535. He bigger? The simple word? Is God bigger in my life?

  536. Or is he smaller? When you say God is bigger

  537. means you're surrounded by Him when you turn left and right,

  538. you see Him first before you see anything else. When

  539. someone tempts you with something, when someone gives you an

  540. opportunity with something that it's not a God is always bigger,

  541. you know what I'm saying. Now, you look at things

  542. that you don't look at the object versus the temptation.

  543. You see God everywhere us No, not in alignment, not

  544. in the right perspective, and scale wrong. It's got really

  545. that big? Do I have a strong longing to pray?

  546. From beginning of this year till now? You gotta ask?

  547. Have you decided to pray a bit more? And if

  548. it's not? Why? Why? It means? This is something I'm

  549. going to ask myself. Have you decided to pray a

  550. bit more? Why? Yes? And why not? Why not? Is

  551. it because they're not enough? Prayer needs? Is it? I

  552. tell you there's no sure prayer needs to have people.

  553. The only difference is urgency. You know, the only difference

  554. is urgency here? So why have I not? Do I

  555. even bother? Do you see yourself on your knees praying

  556. or waking up praying? Or is it only when there's

  557. pain and laws that we begin to pray? Do I?

  558. Do I long to read the Bible? Do I lean

  559. long to worship? Am I more consistent in small acts

  560. of obedience? Consistent every time there is I obey small

  561. acts of obedience and faithfulness? Or am I losing faith

  562. in a lot of things? You got mean? Right? Just

  563. losing a lot of faith in relationships? Are these are

  564. things that kills a relationship? Want to know when you

  565. start to a I just don't want to follow what

  566. my wife says. That my wife says, do this and

  567. do that, remember to close the toothpaste tube, or I

  568. don't want to. I don't want to disclose my my

  569. sticky life. Okay, before you now, But these other things

  570. are that erode away your marriage? One isn't it ask

  571. you to remember your foret purposely forget one? Okay, don't

  572. want to obey? Okay? And faithfulness I trust you, but

  573. you cannot be trusted God as well. Hey, I'm not

  574. asking you to serve the whole. Just do this thing

  575. for this week, for this month, for these people, just

  576. a bit. I know it takes up some time of you.

  577. I know it's a bit inconvenience, but not just being faithful,

  578. but to have a bit of faith in you. You

  579. get me right, There's a difference now doing You can

  580. do things faithfully, but without faith it's another thing. You know.

  581. It's like I want to visit I know, I think

  582. my marriage is not good. I ought to visit and

  583. see my wife a bit more. But you go and

  584. see your wife with no faith or with no expectation

  585. of what's the pointer. I'm just seeing you because I

  586. want to see you, and hopefully by coming here it

  587. will work out. What's the point? You could have say, Hey,

  588. I'm showing up here, but I'm expecting something. I want

  589. to sew into my marriage. I want to sew into

  590. my children, Okay, And because of that, I want to

  591. I want to expect. I want to have a bit

  592. of courage and a bill of guts to believe something

  593. will come out from me. You can't mean right. Because

  594. of that, then you will take risk and because of

  595. that then you will step out a bit Okay? And

  596. am I more thankful to God in all circumstances? Has

  597. something robbed you this year? Someone cut you in the

  598. in the in the car. Someone maybe didn't pay back

  599. your money you lend to them. Are you still smiling?

  600. How many are you? How many of you have people

  601. borrowing money from you? Have never paid Bayer required? Right now?

  602. I have a though, maybe will borrow money from me

  603. close ones, friends? What's a family members? Oh, that's the

  604. hardest one to borrow money? Have the pay back every

  605. day you pray for them? Pay my trick is for

  606. this my my general guidance for people. Okay, say, when

  607. you learn, you got to be prepared to give as

  608. if you're not going to get back. You really have to.

  609. I'm not saying that you are. You label yourself as

  610. a free lender, okay, but you've got to be ready.

  611. You really have to be ready to lend, not expecting

  612. that you know why, because if not, the devil is

  613. going to find an opportunity to really sol something into

  614. your heart because you're holes so tight. You get mean, right,

  615. You got to be able to let go. Whether the

  616. person gives you back to you, it's up to the

  617. Lord already gift like that. Some people, you know, actually

  618. I know sometimes I deviate that someone was having a

  619. problem with how the church, you know, not using the

  620. money using for this and for something else. And it's

  621. not because that the misappropriating money. It's just using for

  622. this maybe like say, for this particular area of ministry,

  623. and then they're using it for this as well, and

  624. then because of that make huge complains. Okay, I'm not

  625. going to go into specificity or extremes. Okay, I understand

  626. what I'm saying here. I feel that generally people should

  627. just give, generally give, and we really pray for God's

  628. wisdom and guidance for the church. But I be into

  629. one church and when I saw that, I was very surprised.

  630. I'm not saying that it's right and wrong. And then

  631. you know in the gift offering, right, and then they

  632. head offering boxes right this church that I went to,

  633. you know how many offering boxes they have? Five, six

  634. or seven, one for tyson communion, one for staff salary,

  635. one for building renovation, one for missions, one for children ministry,

  636. one for this, one for their one for the oh later.

  637. And then every morning you can come up to church, Oh,

  638. I feel like we want to buy. And if you

  639. cannot touch the one for this one, now, how do

  640. you feel that she should to do that for the family? Huh?

  641. How should do that for the family? Don't touch? When I,

  642. like I said, I'm not one to go into legalities,

  643. I don't want to talk about governors. I'm an auditor.

  644. By the way. If you can't talk the governance, I

  645. am the guy. Okay. I know I know governors more

  646. than anything I know separation or thing I know. But

  647. when I look at it and I'm saying I'm not

  648. looking at it, I'm like, where's the spirit of giving

  649. and then learning to let God take control? You come

  650. saying or not when you start to have so many boxes.

  651. Certain things that I can tell you, not many institutions

  652. are in our lives that will survive her. Not the

  653. marriage institution, not the friendship institution, not the fact. Also,

  654. not anything that you build if you're gonna segregate like that,

  655. and you can cut borders into every single thing with

  656. your friends elping, this is the part where I draw

  657. the liner. This is where you draw the liner. Don't touch,

  658. I don't cross. How the work? You know why marriage?

  659. You saw hard? Because every day they are crossing borders.

  660. You know, you do understand what I'm saying. Every day

  661. they're testing your boundaries. Everything, everything is crossing boundaries. Your children,

  662. every day they're crossing boundaries. So they ah, But no,

  663. my children cut when we have dinner, when I have

  664. my happy meal, you take one fry. That's the line.

  665. That's the line, man, my spouse, you take a sip

  666. on my drink. I will take your whole meal. God

  667. like that. Wanna I buy it for my family? Oh?

  668. You cannot take my prices. You Sometimes I do that like, Okay,

  669. maybe when I'm really hungry on it, you can like that.

  670. I wanna. It's like sometimes I'm not hungry, but they

  671. are extra hungry. I give mine even though I get

  672. to be hungry. You don't see what I'm saying. You

  673. know why, there's a time for that one and all.

  674. You know what I mean, right? You don't like measure

  675. every single ding, But that's just Mela. So when I

  676. see this ty thing. When people learn to give, that's

  677. it's very important. Not when you give. You got to

  678. learn to learn gift freely. He's like, oh you give,

  679. Remember you never paid me. Oh my goodness. Don't live

  680. a life like that. People. It's very toxic one and

  681. not its It's going to be very painful for you

  682. to do that. You know, like I said, if you

  683. people borrow money from you before, I know, of course,

  684. if you are you were wanting to payler, But don't

  685. go and ask and bag and not and demand them

  686. and not let the Bible say diregnant before the judge.

  687. I don't do that. Don't do that. God has not

  688. ever required it from you. God It's never required from you,

  689. So don't do that. Okay, very important Okay, no cheer

  690. if you if you think this is good life advice, okay, okay, okay,

  691. let me, I'm flective, finish. Let me just quickly finish

  692. my Okay. Am I more satisfied with God? Okay? Contentment?

  693. Satisfaction and contentment with God rather than seeking for seeking

  694. fulfillment and worthy things. What is the highlight of this

  695. year that you were really so satisfied and full this

  696. year when you were most full? Okay? Was it because

  697. you get caught, something, you achieved, something you flew, you

  698. got went somewhere, or is it really like, hey, I

  699. am full from day one, in the middle of the

  700. year until now, I'm full. I'm contented. I lack nothing.

  701. You truly can say that you lack nothing. See do

  702. I see God's will in my decisions more consistently? You

  703. are more scared that this is not God's will than

  704. missing out on something. You know what I'm saying. I'm

  705. saying that some of you are more scared of missing out.

  706. I don't know what. Oh God, why if I miss out?

  707. No?

  708. No, no, no, We're not chasing waves. Okay. Next one,

  709. am I boulder in sharing my faith or standing up

  710. for what is right. Have I stopped justifying my lack

  711. of spiritual growth or service? Oh? Or there's a good one. Huh.

  712. Have I stopped justifying my lack of spiritual growth and serving?

  713. Have you had less excuses? Or have your excuses given grown? Huh?

  714. You see the same thing? Or because this one will

  715. take up a certain time of these, or because I

  716. had a bad experience before. I tell you we all

  717. go to the same thing. People, We all have these

  718. mad memories before. But just because of one memory and

  719. one experience, it shouldn't hold you back from having courage.

  720. You know, love and grow continually requires courage and faith.

  721. Let me continue finishing. Do I desire to live more

  722. righteously from sin and separate from sin? Do I forgive

  723. others more easy and without bitterness? Have I grown in

  724. resisting temptation and having more discipline? Quiet? Very quiet? Are

  725. my words more uplifting, encouraging and God honoring? Or have

  726. I been just like if I have the opportunity just

  727. to pull people down, or like, hey, you miss a spot,

  728. always trying to point at someone's lack rather than their

  729. best it Sometimes we do it very softly, you know. Haha,

  730. you forgot this Haha. You did this very subtle, But

  731. it's always we have this mindset just always looking for

  732. the crevices. Okay, do I trust God more when facing

  733. challenges and certainties? Came last line? Have I increased in

  734. my extra service to God and others? I always when

  735. you look at people, know this something I'm learning along

  736. the way. Sometimes I feel like, because I'm an introverted

  737. I always think about, oh, what can I connect with

  738. this guy with? What can I say? Sometimes it's not

  739. about that, you know, I have to continue change my minds,

  740. like what about this guy that I'm so impressed with?

  741. Why I say about this guy that I really admire

  742. and I'm very encouraged by. You know, I just want

  743. to know nowadays. You know, me and my wife were

  744. every year we will pray for a word for the

  745. Lord for the year, for ourselves, for a family. And

  746. I told my wife that I felt like the Lord

  747. the word for for me our household was this one

  748. word kindness. Kindness. You know, It's funnier why I thought

  749. that that. I think there was something led to it.

  750. You know that there's this pastor who was named John MacArthur.

  751. You know, you know who John maccarthur, is you know

  752. what I'm trying. They was giving a doing a talk

  753. with him, and they were asking him this question and say, hey,

  754. if you have to down back the years, it was

  755. one thing that you would have done or change if

  756. you go back. You know why. He's one thing he said,

  757. It's not build more schools, preach more sermons. You know,

  758. he said one thing I wish I would be more kind? Yeah,

  759. I mean right see yeah, And I realized this. You know,

  760. the kindness that you do now has a very powerful

  761. effect of redeeming the time. Okay, the kindness you do

  762. right now has a powerful effect of redeeming the time.

  763. Whatever that was wrong, whatever that was negative, they shouldn't have.

  764. But today you choose to be kind just for this moment.

  765. You don't think about tomorrow, don't think about what's possible.

  766. You choose to be kind that these people, they are

  767. so kind to me, telling me the time is up ready,

  768. What a perfect seguey. I was thinking how to linker India.

  769. They're so kind of me. You know, can we be

  770. kind to one another? I say kind to me. Come,

  771. let's stand together, let's do it.

  772. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  773. information on our church, please visit as church dot RG.

  774. We are also active on Facebook and Instagram. We're believing

  775. that this week is going to be a good week,

  776. a hit for you.

  777. God bless
