  5. of Christ here. Let's give them another hand. Hi, everybody,

  6. my name is Alvin. I am blessed to be pastoring

  7. and taking care of this church plan. Uh and I

  8. just want to welcome all of you here to XPJ

  9. and X Bando Tama. We've also got pasta Stephen you know,

  10. chilling you know down there as well. And you know,

  11. we're really blessed to be able to just even watch

  12. our partners put on such a great show, you know.

  13. And I'm here because uh, you know, I'm here to

  14. sort of like wrap ms up and uh, well, I

  15. guess hopefully share with you some thing there is close

  16. to our hearts. Uh and uh and yeah, you know,

  17. but before that, I just want to thank our director

  18. Jiawan for taking this up.

  19. He's upstairs with our team.

  20. Uh and they're working really hard to make everything come together.

  21. They've been practicing for months or so. Uh and uh

  22. and yeah, you know, it's it's also two church plans

  23. coming together, putting this together. So I just want to

  24. thank the carts and crew and everyone who's here. The

  25. kids are awesome, right, yeah, the little kids and actually

  26. all the shepherds, our ex kids, teachers, you know, so

  27. that was really good to see.

  28. Uh.

  29. And I also want to say happy birthday to Kroichiang.

  30. You know, so sorry we miss your birthday twenty sixth

  31. of December. But yeah, you know, some a little body

  32. told me and I thought, I just wish you happy

  33. birthday as we also maybe hosts again past or something.

  34. Uh.

  35. And hey, there's a lot of people here. I hope

  36. you guys are okay. I'm not gonna take long. Don't worry.

  37. It's going to be short. And those that know me

  38. say praise the Lord. Okay, I've got a first question

  39. for today, even as we wrap up today, what is

  40. Christmas to you? This is my short message for all

  41. of us this morning. What is Christmas to you?

  42. Uh?

  43. For some of us, Christmas could be traditions, you know.

  44. I know as a Christian, you know, and of course

  45. Chinese we have Chinese New Year and then Chinese New Traditions.

  46. We do stuff like that.

  47. Uh, you know, growing up in a Christian family, Chinese

  48. New wasn't a big thing. But Christmas is a big

  49. thing for us, you know. Uh.

  50. And it could be tradition.

  51. It could be presents, you know, for some of us here,

  52. it could be presents, right, gifts that we receive. Uh.

  53. Maybe it's Christmas tree. Maybe it's uh, you know, a

  54. Frosty the Snowman. Maybe it's Santa Claus made Christmas is

  55. Santa Claus to you? Maybe it's the time we eat

  56. turkey for the Americans to eat turkey on Thanksgiving. For

  57. you know, the rest of us, we have Christmas turkey.

  58. Maybe it's about singing Christmas carols. I don't know what

  59. Christmas is to you. Christmas could be a lot of

  60. things to us. It could be just a celebration that

  61. we celebrate. It could mean nothing. It could just be

  62. a holiday that we have for those that have holiday.

  63. It could be a time where we you know, maybe

  64. take a retreat back.

  65. It could be different things. But can I share with

  66. you what Christmas to me is?

  67. Christmas to me is about a gift that I've received

  68. when I was twelve. And this gift wasn't just a

  69. gift that is so that is well, especially just for me,

  70. it is also a gift that you know, all those

  71. of our friends that perform this morning here on stage

  72. have also received.

  73. So what is this gift?

  74. You know?

  75. Maybe I just share you with you a little bit

  76. what this gift is.

  77. That's this verse that a lot of Christians know by heart,

  78. and you might have heard it a few times if

  79. you've been in church. It's John three sixteen, and it says,

  80. I'm going to read till verse seventeen. It says, for

  81. God so loved the world that he gave his only

  82. begodden son, that whoever believes in him should not perish,

  83. but have everlasting life. For God did not send his

  84. son into the world to condemn the world, but that

  85. the world true him might be saved. In Isaiah chapter nine,

  86. verse sixty seven, and this scripture from the Bible is

  87. very significant for a lot of us, especially in this

  88. time of Christmas. It says here, for unto us, a

  89. child is born sounds like a song. For unto us,

  90. a child is born, unto us, a son is given,

  91. and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his

  92. name will be called wonderful counselor Mighty God, everlasting Father,

  93. Prince of Peace.

  94. Let me just continue.

  95. It says here, of the increase of his government and peace,

  96. there will be no end. Let me see, You'll be

  97. limitless upon the throne of David and over his kingdom

  98. to order it and establish it with jusun and justice.

  99. From that time forward, even forever, the zeal of the

  100. Lord of Hosts will perform this. So Christmas can mean

  101. a lot of things, right, two different ones, depending on

  102. what's our exposure to it. You know, sometimes we say, oh,

  103. Christmas is a commercial holiday, and you know, time and

  104. time again, I feel like even as Christians, as believers,

  105. we you know, we believe in Christ, we believe in

  106. what he did on the cross for us, we almost

  107. kind of have to like almost fight and remind people

  108. the real Christmas.

  109. I don't know how many of you celebrate Christmas is

  110. Santa Claus.

  111. I'm not going to go there because some of you

  112. might still do that with your kids, So I'm not

  113. gonna do that. I want to let you know that

  114. Christmas is about the birth of Christ. That's how it started.

  115. You know, isn't.

  116. It a mockery we were to replace it with something else?

  117. Right?

  118. And I hope that as you're here, you'll hear my heart.

  119. Why why is Christmas significant to us? It's not just gifts,

  120. It's not just receiving a present. You know, it is

  121. very significant. Let me share you a little bit about

  122. how a little bit of my life experience.

  123. And you know why.

  124. We share life experience. You got life experience not something

  125. you can dispute in a way. I mean, you can

  126. dispute a lot of things.

  127. I can spell.

  128. Oh no, don't know what it is real or not.

  129. One don't know whether or not what you're saying is true.

  130. You know, we claim that this is a true story.

  131. And I'm sure some of you people who are really into,

  132. you know, studying history and all you might want to

  133. dispute that, right, It's fine, but just share you my

  134. own story. So I've been born in a Christian family,

  135. so I'm second generation Christian. And of course you know

  136. my name is Elvin, So okay, a Christian family, Christian name.

  137. You know, you adopt some of these practices, and you know,

  138. and I thought I was born in a Christian a

  139. Christian you know, sometimes we all I born in the family,

  140. you know, I say, remember when I was younger and

  141. my mom asked me like, hey, you know what are

  142. you because you're born And I told her I'm English

  143. because I don't speak Chinese.

  144. I speak English.

  145. Okay, y'all know that that that's not right, okay. And

  146. I thought I was born a Christian. I thought I

  147. was born a Christian because I go to a Sunday school.

  148. I have the experience, you know, I know how to

  149. say amen, I know pray. I not do all these

  150. things like I know, not do all the stuff that

  151. Christians do lung.

  152. Okay.

  153. But I never understood that this gift that was given

  154. to us by God was something that I had to

  155. receive myself. I never understood it. I never understood, you know,

  156. I understood everything else I understood about Christmas. I understood

  157. about going to church on a Sunday. I understood that

  158. I have an English Christian name. I know, I understood

  159. how to say Amen, praise the Lord. But I never

  160. understood that I need, actually I need to receive this myself.

  161. I need to say I need to be able to

  162. take the gift myself because it's presented to me. You know,

  163. this gift might be presented to Adeline or my wife,

  164. Jazz or my you know, or Jiavan or different ones.

  165. And just because by proxy I thought that, oh I received,

  166. so she received it is so therefore I receive. That

  167. was what I thought growing up, And it was never

  168. the case. Friends, It was never the case. If if

  169. you are, if you are a believering of Christ, and

  170. you've received Christ as your personal law and save it already,

  171. you will know that it cannot happen by proxy if

  172. you've done it. Of course, if you've not done it,

  173. you might not fully understand. Okay, that's the reality. You

  174. don't experience, you will, Nola. That's why I tell people.

  175. But I want to let you know that this gift

  176. was a gift that I realized I had to receive myself.

  177. It didn't matter that my parents were church believing Christians

  178. going to going to church, you know, and again if

  179. they are not also, it doesn't matter. It didn't matter that,

  180. you know, I went to church every Sunday, or I

  181. speak the lingo and I look like it, or I

  182. wear as, it doesn't matter.

  183. It was a gift that I had to receive myself.

  184. And it's a gift of what When I was twelve

  185. years old, I went for Sunday school on a normal time.

  186. You know, they sang the church songs. If you have

  187. experienced in church, they sang the church songs. They say

  188. you know something, sing song, you don't mean on, you

  189. just sing on?

  190. Okay.

  191. They did all the church things. And I've been doing

  192. it for all my life. And I don't know why.

  193. That day when the teacher, the Sunday school teacher went

  194. up and say, and we always do this in church, right,

  195. for those of you who are familiar, we always say

  196. the same thing. If you want to receive Jesus as

  197. your personal law and savior, If you want to receive

  198. Jesus as your personal law and savior, you can do so.

  199. Today you know and asked me this thing. All you

  200. need to do is admit you're right.

  201. Then you need him, believe that He died for your sins,

  202. and commit your life to Christ.

  203. And you say ABC.

  204. And even there also some people don't have be like,

  205. oh how come so? Yes, it is that easy to

  206. receive a gift? How do you receive it? Gives open

  207. your hand take and then keepler, Right, isn't easy to

  208. receive gift?

  209. Right?

  210. And I don't know why that day, and friends, I

  211. must explain to you, I knew everything I was the teachers. Pat,

  212. I know how to answer the right question. I know

  213. the Bible, but I've never really received Christ as my

  214. personal law and savior. This message is not just for you.

  215. Are friends who do not know Christ yet, or maybe

  216. you heard a little bit about him, And all these

  217. questions are all trying to convert us. And I hope

  218. you don't have the cow perspective over us, Las, but

  219. you have. I hope I'll change your mind today because

  220. it's not just about conversion. It's about receiving a gift

  221. that God has for us. You know what I mean?

  222. And why do we want to share this because I've

  223. benefited so much from it? You know, I benefited so

  224. much from receiving the gift that I want to share everybody.

  225. Of course, we have to be wise, La, because when

  226. you talk about religion people get senif But can I

  227. be honest with us this morning, Kenna. Of course this

  228. sounds quite funny. You know we have an angel that

  229. can speak Korean, right, you know, I mean it was.

  230. A very fun take at the life of Christ. But

  231. the thing that.

  232. Was real was that he was crucifying across and there

  233. was a reason for that. Right, I won't go too

  234. deep too, because I promise the team I'm going to

  235. take a ten million message and I think I'm gonna

  236. be overtime ready. I just want to share that there's

  237. a gift that we have for you this morning, a

  238. gift that friends, if you are believing all this while

  239. and you've never received it yourself, you need to receive

  240. it as well. A gift that you cannot receive by proxy. Oh,

  241. my wife is a Christian, so therefore I am one.

  242. No no, My mommy and daddy is a Christian, so no, no, no. Friends,

  243. it is a g that you have to receive yourself,

  244. because when you receive this gift yourself, you will experience this.

  245. And what is this gift? Let me go to it.

  246. What is this gift that you have to receive yourself.

  247. It is a gift of a relationship with Christ. It

  248. is not just a status. It is not just a position.

  249. It is a relationship. You know, it's relationship relationship. That's

  250. another person.

  251. I know. You talk to the person, you say hello

  252. to the person. You know.

  253. It is not just any gift, but it is a

  254. gift of a relationship with Well Christians, we say this Lord,

  255. and say it jus Christ. Okay, I won't go too

  256. deep into it, right, Okay, you want to find oute,

  257. you can can ask me later. Can I share with

  258. you why we want to share this gift with everybody?

  259. Not just because you want to make our church bigger,

  260. not just because we want to convert everybody.

  261. No no, no, no, no, sicely, no time to do all that.

  262. Can I share with you my own experience that this

  263. gift comes with its privileges?

  264. It does because the first thing that we believe is.

  265. That we are safe from sin and forgiven as long

  266. as we repent. How many of you have made mistakes

  267. before in your life? Isn't it great that you can

  268. come clean with those mistakes? And do you know that

  269. when the other privilege is that we are accepted into

  270. a larger family, God's family. You know, the one thing

  271. I find very interesting about Christians is that we always say, oh,

  272. brother Stephen, sister Jessica. You know, it sounds rare, like, oh,

  273. why do we say that? Because in the Bible it

  274. says when you come into and receive Christ, you are

  275. accepted into the larger family. Right and if you are

  276. not a Christian here, well, if you're a Christian here

  277. you know this is true. And if you're not Christian

  278. here know this is true. You can be anywhere in

  279. the world. But the moment you know that both of

  280. you believe in Christ, suddenly that's a commendary, a connection.

  281. Suddenly you can ask what discounts? Yeah, yeah, just okay,

  282. I'm just jo king. We are also errors. What's errors?

  283. We inherit something.

  284. We're errors to God's kingdom and have access to all

  285. that promise us. Let me give you a perspective on that,

  286. access to what peace, healing, power and authority that God

  287. has given us. It's something we believe, why because we

  288. read the Bible, but it's I tell you something that

  289. is true as well. Isn't it interesting that Christians pray

  290. for the sick? Isn't it interesting? Why do y'all so

  291. superstitious and believe in Lisa that you can actually that

  292. your God can actually heal sick people? Because it is

  293. a gift that we've received of the authority of the

  294. name of Jesus Christ. That's why Christians pray. We don't

  295. pray because we are powerful. We don't pray because I'm

  296. super special. And if you have that perspective, can I

  297. let you know that that's not true. I'm just a

  298. normal person. But I know that when I received Jesus

  299. as my personal law and savior, God's presence and spirit

  300. is with me. And when His presence is with me, Friends,

  301. I will encourage you today. Talk to any Christian ask

  302. them this question. How do you experience peace in your life?

  303. You're not.

  304. Peace is right despite the storms in your life, despite

  305. how crazy things are, despite the problems you facer, and

  306. it's not soft yet we are peace. We know that

  307. things are going to be okay. We know that God

  308. is there and we've experienced him. I'm sure different ones

  309. here have experienced many wonderful testimonies about how God have

  310. moved in your life. And we know what we have

  311. promised true God's word through the Bible. And of course

  312. it takes time to learn to understand, to grow deeper.

  313. I hope I don't confuse us without the bombastic words

  314. I use today. Friends, today, we want to offer you

  315. this gift. I'm gonna do it now. Well back to

  316. what I said just now. All you need to do

  317. is admit that you need God, believe that Christ Jesus

  318. died for his sins, and commit your life to him.

  319. Can I just encourage everyone to just close your eyes

  320. real quick, because you want to give people the little

  321. bit of privacy if you walk into this place, well,

  322. whether you are a profess as a Christian or maybe

  323. you don't know much and you want to know more,

  324. you can respond to this because you know what I'm

  325. going to pray this prayer. I want to let you

  326. know that if you repeat after me in this prayer, well,

  327. we believe as Christians that God will come and reside

  328. in your heart, and when you give your heart to him,

  329. he will come and stay with you and transform your life.

  330. It is a supernatural thing that's happening. It's not a

  331. natural thing. It's not a by name thing. It is

  332. a super natural thing. You understand supernatural. It is a

  333. supernatural thing. So with everybody just closing your eyes, maybe

  334. just my leaders looking our leaders here looking around, because

  335. we want to pray with you and want to give

  336. you this thing called the Sutter Pack. I'm going to

  337. ask you to respond as you're sitting down if you

  338. want to receive this gift today, this gift that we

  339. have for you, well, not this gift, this give that

  340. I receive. This gives a lot of us here received

  341. this gift that you need to receive yourself. Doesn't matter

  342. whether you'll believe it or not. I wonder whether you've

  343. received this gift before.

  344. I hope you have.

  345. Maybe you've not been experiencing God in your life because

  346. you've not really really received this gift properly. I don't

  347. know if you're far away from God, or maybe you

  348. want to say yes to Him for the first time,

  349. or maybe you just want to find out more. Guys,

  350. it's okay. You can find out more. You can receive

  351. this gift tomorrow so or the day after tomorrow. But

  352. if you really feel like maybe something is talking in

  353. your heart, I want to encourage you to just respond

  354. today and don't be shy. So we ask everybody cross

  355. the eye so we won't embarrass anybody here. Right at

  356. the Countral tree, I'm gonna ask you to raise up

  357. your hand real quick so I can see it. Don't

  358. have to raise up so long, just raise up real quick,

  359. put it down so that I can see it, so

  360. that the leaders can see it. Why because you want

  361. to pass you something, not because we want to pull

  362. you aside.

  363. We just want to pass you.

  364. Something to start you on your journey, and when you

  365. receive this gift, I want to encourage you to join

  366. the church because there's so much to learn, so much

  367. to experience, so much to understand about the relationship that

  368. we have with Jesus. And white Christians act a certain

  369. way or do a certain thing, or white Christians are

  370. so at peace even though there's storms in their life.

  371. You can experience the same as well. Friends. Are you ready.

  372. In tree two? Want anybody here? You want to receive

  373. Christ as your personal law and savior.

  374. You want to come back to him.

  375. You can just raise up your hand real quick so

  376. that we can see it. Anybody here, I see you

  377. one hand, I saw another hand. Actually, it's interesting because

  378. the kids are responding.

  379. Well. Children. I hope that you will experience God.

  380. And if you repeat after me, I want to let

  381. you know that Christ will come and resign your life.

  382. Amen.

  383. Let's pray, Lord Jesus, thank you for paying the ultimate

  384. price for my sins by.

  385. Dying on across from me.

  386. I receive your love and forgiveness and eternal life by faith.

  387. Come into my heart and life and be my Lord

  388. and my savior. Feel me with your Holy spirit in

  389. Jesus' name. Amen, friends with I want to encourage you.

  390. Maybe you are too shy to respond here, it's okay.

  391. Can you go up to one of our leaders and

  392. ask for a start effect if you feel like you

  393. want to know more or you want to understand what

  394. this gift is. I'm just going to pass the time

  395. to our worship team to bring us to the next thing.

  396. And I want to encourage you to come and visit

  397. us again, maybe on Christmas Day or next week.

  398. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  399. information on our church, please visit as church org. We

  400. are also active on Facebook and Instagram. We're believing that

  401. this week is going to be a good week. I

  402. hit for you. God bless
