You're listening to a message to go from ax Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Awesome.
-
Let's read at Luke seven, verse eleven to seventeen. I
-
have that on screen, says here. Now it happened the
-
day after that. He went into a city call nine
-
or nine, and many of his disciples went with him,
-
and a large crowd. And when he came near the
-
gate of the city, behold, a dead man was carried,
-
and the only son of his mother. And she was
-
a widow, and a large crowd from that city.
-
Was with her.
-
When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her
-
and said to her, do not weep. And then he
-
came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried
-
him stood still, and he said, young man, I say
-
to you, arise verse fifteen. So he who was dead
-
sat up and began to speak, and he presented him
-
to his mother. Then fear came upon all, and they
-
glorified God, saying, a great prophet has written among us,
-
and God has visited his people. And this report about
-
him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.
-
Thank God for the reading.
-
Of his word. So this story is about.
-
I love how this story ends, and it says God
-
visited his people. I would love that when we meet
-
on Sunday, that we feel like, wow, God visited this place,
-
not some speaker from ex Melbourne, not from any plan
-
other name, no other name, by the name of Jesus,
-
that when you're experience him, you go like wow, I
-
felt God's presence here. And that's the ultimate goal that
-
we journey on as believers, so that we experienced Him
-
and some of us. God has been impressing on my
-
heart that some of you you're starting the year, it's
-
a fresh year, but like this lady, you've got some issues.
-
Some things which are not going right. It says you.
-
And Luke seven it says, let's read that again that
-
he the dead man, was being carried out the son
-
of his mother and she was a widow. That's really tragic, right,
-
how many of you think So it's a son a
-
dead man, first dead man, and then.
-
She was the only son and then she.
-
Was a widow. When I read that, I went like, wow,
-
this is this is bad, Like how bad?
-
Can it be? Right? This is bad?
-
The only son is dead and he was carried out
-
the only son of his mother, and she was a widow.
-
And God was speaking to me that some of us
-
you might be in that place. No, maybe you don't
-
have a dead child, but some dreams have died. Maybe
-
last year you're believing for something and then God didn't
-
come true. You feel like God, You feel that God
-
didn't come true. But maybe you don't know that God
-
is working things for our good. You feel like, ah, God,
-
you didn't come true for me last year.
-
Too bad.
-
If you don't know God already. Read the book of Hebrews.
-
Hebrews eleven speaks about the characters of faith. Read about
-
all the different people who came before us and they
-
were living a life of faith.
-
I'm going to read you.
-
I was just reminded just now that in Hebrews eleven,
-
verse thirty nine, if you have your bible's turned to me,
-
turn with me. Now, turn to me, turn with me
-
to eleven. Hebrews eleven, verse thirty nine.
-
That's on this.
-
For some of you who are there, you feel that
-
God has abandoned you, you or you haven't received your
-
breakthrough Hebrews eleven, verse turning out you guys there, let's
-
read that together. It says, all these people earn a
-
good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them
-
received all that God has promised. So this chapter actually
-
talks about all the people like you know, Great, the Great,
-
the whole of not faith, fame, but the whole of faith.
-
And you've got so many characters that You've.
-
Got Abel, You've got Abraham, you've got Noah. All these
-
people came, and yet that verse said they did not
-
receive all God has promised. And so I'm here with
-
you because I'm also in that boat like as a family.
-
I don't know where the I didn't plan to share this,
-
but I want to tell you that God is real.
-
God is faithful, and God journeys with us where the
-
we get what we want or we don't, God is
-
still faithful. And I'm just bringing this message because I thought,
-
let's be real.
-
We're family.
-
I'm just another church punter in Melbourne doing some things.
-
Last year or the year before and the year before,
-
Delia and myself. We've had Sophie. If you don't know,
-
dearI is my wife. Sophie is my daughter, and so
-
we had.
-
A child.
-
Yes, Sophie is my daughter. And after a couple of years.
-
We had some tragic birth story. Okay, ask me about
-
it and next time. But after that, the doctor saw us,
-
don't ever try again. The ACG you do us, don't
-
try because your body cannot take it. You nearly died,
-
give up and stuff for that. So we're like, okay.
-
And after two years they get They say, if you
-
want to try, after two years, until your body is
-
fully healed, them maybe you seek some specially then you try.
-
So we were like, so after two or three years
-
we decided, okay, we're gonna try. And then guess what, yay,
-
Dina got pregnant last year and so we were we
-
were like yeah, and then Dealer says, we know how
-
we're going to tell Sophie she's not going to be.
-
The only chow anymore.
-
And said, the Dealer's really excited, right, So she's like,
-
I'm going to tell I'm going to tell her. I'm
-
going to break it to her. And I said, don't, don't.
-
Don't sport a surprise. And on one of the Sundays
-
we were serving together, I think Dealer is a chaperson.
-
I was on that day. I was speaking, I was
-
playing the guitar, and then Suddenly she looked at me
-
and she says, ah, like of this pain and it's hurting,
-
and so I was thinking, okay, hang in there. And
-
so right off the church we decided, hey, let's we
-
love the fellowship.
-
But we had to tell her to say hey, we've
-
we've got it.
-
So we booked an appointment, went to the doctor and
-
we found out not so great news that hey, you
-
know what you're having. The doctors just said you're having
-
a miscarriage. So we were like, oh wow, that's how
-
it feels. It's not a great feeling, but we're like okay.
-
And what makes it worse is we had to wait
-
from three pm up to eight pm because in the
-
Australian public system, they feel like miscarriage not so important,
-
so you can just can't wait.
-
Other emergencies are important.
-
So we're like, okay, maybe we waited there till eight
-
o'clock and then they say like, look, your daughter's sleepy,
-
you know what, why don't you bring her home? And
-
then you guys go and then I'll take a cat
-
back there. It is the worst thing as a husband
-
to think about, like, wow, how can I leave my
-
wife who's going through this and go home. I said, God,
-
surely you are good, Surely you can come true. And
-
so got that long story shot. I went back home,
-
gave Sophia shower, gave us some food, brought some food
-
along along the way. She fell asleep in the car,
-
reached Pigtavor back and then we went back home and
-
I said, hey, you know what, it's okay. God is
-
still with us. God is still good. And then she says, yeah.
-
And I don't know why this happened. I thought I
-
was being careful, and I said, no, look, it may
-
not be you, but we still have to believe that
-
God is faithful.
-
God is good and so true.
-
That season, God was teaching me that, hey, you know what,
-
you may not receive the good that you think, but
-
I have a better plan, and true that as we
-
shared that journey with our church, we found out that, hey,
-
you know what, God used our story to lead others
-
to know that, hey, you know what, God is a
-
god not just of good times, but true bad times
-
as well. True the pain true, the sorrow, true, the
-
persecution true. Whatever you're going through at home, he is
-
still faithful and He's still there. And I read this
-
verse then that Lord, you were the god of all
-
these heroes, and they never saw you, they never saw
-
the fulfillment. So I'm here this share with some of
-
you that I don't know who I'm sharing with that
-
maybe are believing for something. But God is saying, even
-
though if you don't see it, can you trust me?
-
How do we break it to Sophie?
-
We were thinking that we have to tell him because
-
she felt something's going on. We felt like, oh, and
-
so we said, she said, Mommy, am I going to
-
have her sister deck hand boss and not not boss,
-
but uh that I can't care for? And then we
-
tell we'd always say like, actually, mummy was wasn't feeling
-
so okay, So we.
-
Didn't get the baby.
-
Then she said oh, and then she said I know
-
I know why, Daddy, And then we're thinking, oh, no,
-
what is she gonna say? How are we gonna explain?
-
And she said, I think because I pray, and she's
-
been praying every week you go and pray for Mammy's tummy.
-
And she said, I think Jesus has no stock in
-
heaven because I've been praying for a baby girl, and
-
maybe there's no more baby goes in heaven. So there's
-
no stock, and then I was driving, I said, yes, yes,
-
there's no stock or baby goes in heaven like like
-
Elven saying all the boys, you're right. So I was like, oh,
-
thank God, you explain it to her that way, no
-
stock in heaven. Great, don't have to explain to her.
-
Right months to come, you discover what we went through.
-
But true that period we journey it as a family together,
-
and I think it was tough for Delia to go
-
through it while serving. I don't know about women going
-
through these kind of circumstances. And that's why I look
-
at like past Elvin and Jazz and the team here.
-
I know the labor, the sacrifices you make, not just
-
leaders here, but everyone's serving that you're going through stuff
-
and sometimes no one knows. And I'm here to tell
-
you that God knows. Luke seven, verse eighteen, it says
-
the Lord saw her and he had compassion on her,
-
and he said, do not weep. And God saying to
-
some of you today that God is he knows what
-
you're going through, saying, do not weep, do not be afraid.
-
So how can we be more like Jesus is? Some
-
of you you know that that movie The Passion of Christ. Right,
-
I think you've got your own Jesus here?
-
What's his name? You you sing? Yushing? Got it right? Right?
-
You should follow and become more like not but in
-
that sense to be more christ Like, it's not just
-
to have passion. A lot of us. You can have passion,
-
you can be jumping on the stage. But compassion is
-
another sense. Compassion is where God really dwells in, God
-
really moves in.
-
Let's read that. What is compassion?
-
Maybe I'll give you a quick glimpse on what is
-
compassion compassion?
-
There's two words here. I'll read you the.
-
Hebrew meaning first, which is the word can anyone pronounce that?
-
Rakhum is r a k h m kind of thing
-
which is full of compassion, merciful?
-
You understand that. So that's compassion. That's what we know.
-
When you say someone is compassionate, we feel like, oh, yeah,
-
the person's merciful. But the Greek meaning it's this funny
-
word almost feels like sliver coming out of you, which
-
is splack needs mine or no me, which means to
-
be moved as to one's bowels. Funny right, to move,
-
to be moved as to one's vowels hands to be
-
moved with compassion, having to have compassion as though your
-
bowels are known to be the seat of love and pity.
-
So when I thought I read this verse, I'm like,
-
oh my gosh, like vowels. Every time I think of bowels,
-
I think of toilet. Right, But then I thought about no, Actually,
-
when the word compassion comes in is when you see
-
something and it hits you in the guy, I need
-
to do something about it, to be moved, not just
-
out of pity, but hey, you know what, I'm going
-
to do something about this. I'm gonna move to us this,
-
I'm gonna change this situation. And that's what compassion. That's
-
the same compassion that Jesus had when he saw this lady.
-
When he saw this condition, he said, hey, know what
-
Jesus had compassion. It was not like, oh, Jesus felt
-
like I need to go to toilet, guys. No, he
-
went like, I need to step in and I'm going
-
to show you. Many verses are a couple of examples
-
here that God moves with compassion, not just hey, you
-
know what I'm passionate about Jesus. I'm passionate about church,
-
but hey, Let's move with what Goddess? What is God's
-
heart for us? Let's read Exodus thirty five, verse five
-
to six. It says, here the Lord descended in the
-
cloud and stood with him, and there there proclaimed the
-
name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him, the Lord,
-
the Lord, your God, merciful and gracious, long suffering, and
-
abounding in goodness and truth. So compassion is part of
-
his nature. When he introduced himself, read that to Moses,
-
he introduced himself as not good looking, not kind, but
-
his introduced his introduction of self introduction. Here it says,
-
the Lord, the Lord, your God, merciful and gracious, merciful, compassionate.
-
Exodus thirty four, vers six says, the Lord passed in
-
front of Moses right and some of us. God, you
-
think that God is merciful to other people and his
-
God and just he walked past you, God saying no,
-
I see you, and I want you to journey with me,
-
even through the heartache, even through the unmad dreams, God
-
is wanting to be merciful to us. Jesus moved with compassion.
-
Matthew fourteen, verse fourteen says, when Jesus went out, he
-
saw a great multitude, and he was moved with compassion.
-
He was moved with compassion for them and heal they're sick.
-
And then there's a leper story in my one. Verse
-
forty says a leper came to him, imploring, kneeling down
-
to him, saying to him, if you're willing, you can
-
make me clean. And Jesus moved with church compassion and
-
stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him,
-
I'm willing be cleansed. So I'm just giving you examples
-
to let you know that Jesus, yes, he was passionate
-
about him his father's business, but he was compassionate to
-
reach more people, to save, to heal, to deliver, to
-
set the captives free. That's the God that I know.
-
And I'm here to encourage you that God sees you.
-
I want you to know that God knows what you're
-
going through. I don't know who has started the year.
-
And you're thinking, like I feel that this situation is dead.
-
John ten.
-
Verse ten, it says the thief comes but to kill, steal,
-
and destroy. But I've come to give you life and
-
live more abundantly. And so when I read this verse
-
this morning was reminded that hey, you know what, the
-
thief and the story came to kill that son, stole
-
the son from the lady, and then destroyed her life.
-
Did she have a husband?
-
No?
-
In that sequence, he came to kill, to destroy, and
-
to steal from this lady. And what does Jesus do.
-
Jesus steps in and he goes, I'm here and I'm
-
gonna move. I'm gonna start off afresh. That which you
-
think is dead, God can raise your life. And so
-
I'm here to bring you that word that hey, let's
-
focus on being compassionate. Maybe it's maybe it's you're studying
-
here right now.
-
If that's here in this space, great, You're like.
-
Yeah, news resolution, I'm ready to spring out. But God
-
is challenging you. Hey, look around. Not everyone is starting
-
in a good place. Can you be moved? Can you
-
step out? Can you be compassionate? Look up for that
-
one the campus team that they said like, oh, only
-
one person can that was invited. I'm like, hey, you
-
do not know who you're reaching sometimes, and that one
-
Jesus left. He explained that leave the ninety the one
-
hundred ninety nine for that one, and so that one
-
life can be important, God, ask God this year, Lord
-
show me that one Lord helped me to be more compassionate. Lord,
-
give me that compassion to move. Amen, let's read on this.
-
So number one is to be compassionate. Number two, if
-
you're taking notes, is be bold. This is something that
-
some of us. I think most of us need to
-
work on being bold. Luke seven, verse thirteen. Lord Lord
-
saw her, and he had compassion on her and said,
-
do not weep?
-
How do you tell someone don't cry? Are reading? Let's
-
be practical. If someone's you go the funeral.
-
Most of you have been to a funeral before, some
-
of you, And then you reach the people that he said, guys,
-
don't cry. I'm like, whoa, How can you tell people
-
don't cry? The only way you can tell someone not
-
to cry is if you have a better solution. And
-
he came touched the open coffin, and those who carry
-
it around him stood still, and he said, young man,
-
I say to you, arise, And he who was dead
-
set up and begin to speak, and he presented him
-
to his mother. So there's that boldness, knowing that I'm
-
coming not in the authority of death, but coming in
-
the one who has sent me the Father, and He's
-
given me life and life more abundenly, I'm going to
-
proclaim it over this life. So that's the God that
-
we serve. And I'm here to encourage you that, Hey,
-
you know what, you can do that as well. And
-
most of us need to step out in that faith
-
because that's what the Will needs. Doesn't need more Christians
-
who are trying to become like the world needs more
-
Christians who are more christs Like. So I'm here to
-
encourage you as I am learning that. You know what,
-
Let's let's be more christ Like. Let's be more bold
-
in the calling that He has called us to be.
-
When I told our church back in Melbourne that hey,
-
I'm preaching XPG and how's your minded From the team,
-
They're like, oh yeah, that's that's one of our plans
-
that send the most people across Do you know that XPG.
-
Whether you know it or not, you guys have sent
-
so many people to Australia. Thank you for sending them, teens,
-
campus students, young workid outs. We've got some of our leaders.
-
So most of y'all know Elo and Hanson and and Jaden,
-
and then you know Island and Kiko. I don't know
-
where you know, Ilen Kicko. They are leading on West
-
Holmes and they're they're reaching homes a demographic of people
-
that is just way out in the west. It's like
-
one I went twenty minutes away from us. That's where
-
they live. And they're reaching a group of people who
-
are not even in church. And then I was reminded
-
of this story which I wanted to share with you.
-
Is this guy, this teen who came to our church
-
and I think passe Alvin knows him. And so this
-
teen and I told him, I said, his name is Hanson.
-
I don't know where you'll know him. He was when
-
he was here, I think he was like nine or ten.
-
And then he moved to Australia. He followed his family there,
-
and I landed in Australia the year after. And so
-
he said, hey, passes shows. He was a cute kid then,
-
and so he came up with he said, Hi, I'm
-
from XPJ bus Elvin sent me here. I said, oh,
-
And then I was like, oh wait this day he
-
said ring Wood. Then I said wow, ring Wood. So
-
where's that He's like? So I googled it up and
-
I was like, wow, that's forty minutes by train. They said, yeah,
-
it's just forty minutes, So like, okay. So he started
-
coming to church and I'm like, wow, this guy takes
-
the train all the way forty minutes. And then he
-
started coming and then we had a getaway y'all know
-
a getaway.
-
It's like a camp. Do you all have a camp here? Yes?
-
You had an amazing one, right, And so he said,
-
I want to go over the camp. He said, but
-
my mother won't aloud. Can you meet my mother? And
-
then I was like, oh, So I took the train
-
ran to PJ and then I was like having his
-
barbecue and stuff that I was thinking, oh no, Like
-
what's why does his mother want to meet me? And
-
then the mother said like, oh, thanks for coming all
-
the way bass the shoe, and I just you know
-
that it's not that we don't want him to go
-
for your cam. It's just that we feel that the
-
people at the camp may not like him. I was
-
like why, and then she says, because he's got this
-
thing where in the middle of the night he wakes
-
up and he has panic attacks and anxiety attacks, and
-
he hears voices and he goes back and forth and
-
so that's why we brought him to some mediums.
-
We tried different things.
-
He's gone for some sleepovers and some people traumatize, and
-
so I don't know whether he should go for your
-
cam you get away, I said, I'm thinking, and I said,
-
maybe he'll stay with me. Yeah, your room with me
-
worth thing to do, right, put yourself in danger. Said okay, yeah,
-
your room with me great, and then go home. And
-
I told you, la, I think your room separately here,
-
your room with me, right, and I'll take one more
-
boy or one more guy do the bunks there.
-
And then they said are you crazy?
-
And then I said it's okay, Like I gave his
-
mom the word that it's gonna be fine, and then
-
I first get away there pass Candea Banzenra came and
-
then they were like setting up, so we had like
-
two shelleys booked out like twenty other people. And then
-
came the night, and truly enough, it happened like they're
-
sleeping and then sudden you get up. You're like and
-
then this guy goes walking walking past this and then
-
he's panting and pending and came up and then he
-
suddenly just collapsed on the floor.
-
And then all the guys in the room. I think
-
it was a tree or four guys woke up like right.
-
And then the next morning at five eight, five, six am,
-
preparing breakfast, no one's talking to each other. Right, let's
-
not talk about what happened, right, just make your coffee,
-
make your mid low. And I was thinking, God, surely
-
you can do something.
-
Surely.
-
So we had a great day on the second day,
-
and then on that night again, guess what happened again?
-
And this time worse. He was walking back and forth again, came.
-
Out right to me anyway, right, And I was like,
-
at that time, it's where the boldness kicking in. And
-
so I said, in the name of Jesus, get oh,
-
get behind, and then he fell. I just said, in
-
the name of Jesus, get out of this boy. And
-
he stopped and then he woke down. He said, what
-
was happening? He doesn't know what's happening. And I said, Hanson,
-
what your mom said happened? He says, But I don't
-
what to do. I don't what to do. Can you
-
pray for me?
-
He said?
-
And I said I can. But and then God, let
-
me tre this to say, you pray for this Hanson.
-
So we sat next to the bed. I said, Hanson,
-
do you want this out of your system? Do you
-
want to be set free? Then you gotta pray, and
-
let's believe together that you'll be set free. And so
-
he prayed in the name of Jesus, thought, set me free.
-
I don't want crime. Thirteen year oh, pray, prayed. It
-
was a good night after that, and then we didn't
-
think about it much. We were like, yay, there's not
-
that day, thankfully, right, because you know, two days, one night, yay, right,
-
go back to my wife.
-
I didn't think about much of it right after that.
-
Two years later he says, oh, but I want to
-
be baptized, and then we were like, okay, sure. I
-
finally decided my parents are okay with it and stuff,
-
and I add the baptism. He shard say, Actually, I
-
just wanted to remind you guys that I thought about it.
-
That God set me free from this anxiety that I
-
used to be having for many years. And we've tried
-
many things, and God only came true at this camp,
-
at this time when I prayed and set me free.
-
And I just wanted you to know. When he shed that,
-
we were like oh yeah, right, we didn't even remember anything.
-
We were like, oh yeah, that's right.
-
You had that thing in you, but God set you
-
free and we were like, God, you are amazing, and
-
I'm here to challenge you that let's be bold in
-
declaring God's presence, not just on Sundays but in our
-
workplaces when things are not going according to or not
-
going to what's right, declare God's word. And that boldness
-
can only come as we go into point tree from
-
being in his presence. Let me read some scripture for
-
you that God has not given us second Timothy one,
-
verse seven, A spirit of fear, but of power and love,
-
er sound mind. And sometimes we forget that. Hey, you
-
know what, it's normal to operate in fear. It's normal
-
to go like, hey, you know what, delby demons. I
-
tell this to different parents that they're raising the children
-
as it like, hey, you know what, if you want
-
to send your kids and you think that Australia has
-
a better life, be warned. We are dealing with different demons,
-
and a lot of us go like, ah, demons, why
-
is that right? It's no, demons are real, but greater
-
who is in you.
-
Is greater than who is in the world.
-
And God has reminded us so many times that, hey,
-
you want it's not just about having a bad education there,
-
but hey, where does God want me to be? That's
-
the important question to ask, Lord, where do you have?
-
And God has not given us the spirit of fear,
-
but of power of love? Anna sound mind? What does
-
sound mind speak about? Self control, self discipline? And so
-
I'm sharing with you this is because sometimes things are
-
out of our control.
-
That's where that sound mind comes in.
-
Lord, give me that peace, give me that perseverance, give
-
me that hope that I need in this situation. And
-
so God may not give you what you want, like
-
that baby we were praying for. I'm here sharing it
-
with you that we didn't get a baby, but God
-
gave us peace. With the peace, I'm gonna trust him
-
even more with that piece, I'm gonna say, Hey, you
-
know what God is, A God is good with or
-
without that promise, Lord, you are faithful, And so God
-
has given us his spirit.
-
Let's draw boldness only from his presence.
-
When you spend time with God, that's where that baldness
-
comes a lot of times, it's like what Paskenna said,
-
And I'm bringing here his greetings.
-
He said, hey, share with the church that he loves you.
-
And I'm here to say that, you know what, His
-
presence is all that we need. If you spend one hour,
-
think about it, newest resolution, one hour in God's presence.
-
That one hour can make a difference in your twenty
-
four hours, right in your twenty three hours. Why don't
-
you spend And there's so many verses in the Bible,
-
says Jesus told his disciples, go and read it in
-
the Bible.
-
Why don't you wait with me? How many hours? Just
-
one hour? Why don't you wait with me? One hour?
-
Why do you fall asleep? Why don't you wait with me?
-
So there's something about Hey, you know what, when I
-
spend time with God, God gives me the strength so
-
I can take on today, so I can take on
-
whatever's ahead of me. But that bondness comes from his presence.
-
That's where some of us need to this year. Maybe
-
that can be a resolution. Maybe you're gonna go into
-
your office tomorrow and you're thinking, oh, the boss again, right,
-
But I'm here to say, hey, you know what, take
-
it on my bondness, not going to score your boss.
-
I'm the boss.
-
Right, but you go like, hey, you know what, no
-
matter what I'm facing, Lord, you are with me.
-
Give me the strength. Amen.
-
Last one is to be like what Christ was doing.
-
He was God's ambassador. Jesus had this saying in the Bible,
-
which she says that I've come to do the will
-
of him who sent me.
-
I know food of what you don't know of. That's Jesus.
-
And so when he came, he's representing the Father God.
-
And as Christians, that should be our aim as well.
-
That can we be Christ in our workplace? Can we
-
be like Christ in our families? Can we be Christ outside?
-
To people know where Christians? That's one question and honest
-
they know we're Christians. Do they want to know Jesus.
-
It's not a question, but I'm here. The challenge is that, hey,
-
you know what God has called us, and all of
-
us have different giftings.
-
What passa Elvin does? I can't do what your gifted in.
-
I know most of you want to be like you
-
saying like you want to be like Jesus, but what
-
he is gifted in some of you might find it
-
hard to do. And I'm here just say that, Hey,
-
we're all part of the body. We play different parts,
-
and if every part does its share, it brings edification.
-
To the body. We can grow. So can we be
-
his ambassador?
-
Let's read that last verse nukes seven, verse sixteen to
-
seven and says fear came upon all and they glorified God,
-
saying a great prophet has risen among us, and God
-
has visited his people, and this report about him went
-
throughout all Jadere and the surrounding region. Once you walk
-
in boldness, people will want to know Christ. Once you
-
walk in that gifting, God will use you as a vessel.
-
And that's that's where God wants you to be in
-
this story. Where did he visit this place? Name Nain
-
right or nine?
-
Let's have a glimpse of it and we would draw
-
the clothes. Nine what does that mean?
-
A town of Galilee situated in the northern base of
-
Little Herman.
-
What does it say there? I'll read the bottom part.
-
It says a petty village inhabited by very few families.
-
And what caught me is God would stop for something
-
that's petty. Some of you might think like, I'm too small,
-
woe with me? Lord Lord, You're you're so concerned with
-
so many things. My need is so small. If God
-
could go into nine and minister to this lady and
-
raise the dead, don't you think you would want to
-
go into your little situation? Don't you think of God,
-
good God like Jesus would want to step in the
-
other of nine is beautiful. And that's why I want
-
us to know that God walks into a mess and
-
he takes these the insignificant, and he makes it beautiful.
-
And when I read this story, I went like, God,
-
you are so good.
-
Lord.
-
You love your people so much that Lord, even though
-
we are going through doubts, disappointments, Lord, even sometimes we're
-
angry with you, Lord, you would step in and you
-
would love us the same. And then there's no one
-
too small. He met the Samaritan woman in the desert.
-
I wrote here he went all his way for Jerry's daughter.
-
And then he went to Psychaas and Matthew, tax collector.
-
Nobody wants to hang with tax collectors. They think it's bad.
-
And then he jumped into whose boat Simon's boat? They
-
caught nothing. Sometimes you think that only when I have something,
-
God was interested in me. No Simon got nothing. Jesus
-
steps in. That's a God that loves you and me,
-
and yeah, I'm him to tell you that God wants
-
to step in. And you have the same spirit that
-
God has, which is the Holy Spirit. So you don't
-
have Jesus physically present. And this is where I want
-
to end my message, that He has given us the
-
Holy Spirit. How can we really be more like Christ
-
is to have His spirit in us, to be walking
-
not in the flesh, but in the spirit. For those
-
of you who were there at pray on Wednesday, I
-
think doctor Jill got us to read Romans eight and
-
Romans eight if you read it, says we walk not
-
by flesh but by the spirit. And the more we
-
walk by the spirit, the more we experience what the
-
more we commune with God. And so God can only
-
use those willing vessels. When I saw the leaders in
-
front there earlier, I went like, wow, God, this is like.
-
The wedding at Cana.
-
Where Jesus mother said, hey, do something about it, right,
-
and six vessels were there, And then Jesus said, my
-
time is not yet. But because he was moved, he
-
said I'm gonna save this wedding. I'm going to move
-
and do this. And he says, take these jaws, put
-
one into them and take them out. Was a miracle
-
in the water. No, a miracle is in the Lord
-
and his word. And so as we draw her close today,
-
even as a worship team comes up, some of you
-
are asking, Lord, what's your plan for twenty twenty five.
-
For me, it's a big question. And as you ask
-
that question, I would say, keep that conversation going, Keep
-
that conversation going, and ask God, Lord, how can I
-
be more like you? If that's you in his place?
-
Even as we stand right now, I know this might
-
not be a common thing, but I want to start.
-
I want us to start the year by dedicating our
-
lives to Jesus and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
-
God says that he wants to pour out his spirit
-
afresh upon his church because in his word he says
-
that greater works shall you do? When I go to
-
the Father, I believe that EXPG. You've sent so many missionaries,
-
You've sent so many disciples out, and God's not done
-
with you yet. God sees your heart. Thank you for
-
serving him faithfully. But it's not in the doing, it's
-
in the being more like Jesus. Thank you all this rain,
-
Thank you Jesus. Right now, we hands lifted up even
-
as we worship him. Right now, we're just going to
-
worship him with one simple chorus, and then I'm going
-
to pray it with us.
-
Hallelujah, Thank you Jesus.
-
We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
