You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your team this morning.
-
My message title is called Let's talk about Decipership.
-
Why will be very requiet. Let's talk about thecipership. Okay?
-
Why So this year our team and every year we
-
have a team.
-
Okay, Basically, I'm not gonna go too deep into how
-
it came about and or if you want, please talk
-
to your home leader, please talk to other people.
-
But I'm just gonna share.
-
About the team this year, how it's significant in the Bible,
-
and how it's significant to us, and hopefully all of
-
us here will be able to either participate or apply
-
it into our lives. You'll catch that, Okay. So I'm
-
gonna try my best to break it down distinct called decipership,
-
because I'm sure a lot of people have a lot
-
of concept on decipership, a lot of ideas on decipership,
-
a lot of misinterpretion or interpretion on discipleship, a lot
-
of fears on the discipleship. Or discipleship in exch means
-
someone's going to control my life and call me every
-
day and force me to do things I don't want
-
to do. Okay, maybe I don't know. I'm just going
-
the area of negativity for a moment. Okay, but can
-
we talk about discipleship? It is here now like now
-
can can can?
-
Sorry?
-
If you're first time here, you as you can see,
-
I prefer some response.
-
Okay. If I'm saying something wrong, say help him.
-
Lord, tough crowd this morning, Lord, tough crowd, tough crowd.
-
Our team this year is discipleship first, disciples first. Orr,
-
You're not discipleship, but disciples first.
-
Right. The word disciple is not alien to you.
-
If you are a Christian, you know that we are
-
disciples of Christ, Amen, Cory not we're disciples of Christ.
-
Okay uh.
-
And it is significant to us to be a diciple,
-
to be a follower. Okay, And let's go to the Bible.
-
Let's go to the scripture, right, so Manthe twenty eight.
-
I'm gonna read for verse sixteen. Then the eleven disciples
-
went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had
-
appointed for them. Then they saw him, they worshiped him,
-
but some doubted.
-
Do you know that.
-
All of us here can be believers, but some of
-
us can still doubt. But do you know that we
-
are still together. It makes sense. Not right, all worshiped,
-
but some doubted. So I'm not sure some of you
-
here today will probably be wondering in some of the
-
things you say I cannot accept or I don't understand,
-
or not I cannot be Truella, And it's fine, it's okay.
-
Nothing against you, right, because even then some of them
-
doubted some of the eleven.
-
But of course later on we learned that you know through.
-
The infeeling of the Holy Spirit and true different things are.
-
All the apostles did great things for the Lord, even
-
though sound then doubted.
-
Seeing Jesus.
-
Sometimes you can see the miracle, you can see the testimony,
-
you can see God move in your life, but you
-
can steal doubt. My encouragement today is that when you
-
see you don't doubt, but you give Him the glory
-
when you see things happen. Don't go like Yalla, you
-
know I'm just lucky.
-
Lah.
-
No, Maybe God is working in your life and you've
-
got to acknowledge that. You got to acknowledge God in
-
your life. Don't take things for granted.
-
Amen.
-
Sorry, are preaching and teaching. I hope you guys can
-
receive it, okay. So he says, heyah, and Jesus came
-
and spoke to them, saying, all authority has been given
-
to me in heaven and on earth.
-
Right.
-
I think this is something that for those of you
-
who are here, you understand that we believe as believers
-
that all authority has been given to Christ, the authority
-
of sickness, the authority in this world has been given
-
to him. That's why when we pray and when we
-
ask God for things, we say in Jesus name, right,
-
because we are calling upon Jesus authority, not my authority,
-
not your authority, but Christ's authority, because all authority has
-
been given to him. So we pray in his authority.
-
Your catch that, okay, We pray in his authority. And
-
he says, go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
-
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
-
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
-
observe all things that I've commanded you and law and.
-
With you always even to the end of the age.
-
So we say that this in acts, we say that
-
this is our first priority, right, first priority in our
-
life is Jesus last commandment, is the last thing He
-
asked his disciples to do right, and we bring his disciples.
-
Should make disciples your catch that your catch that? Okay, right,
-
So rewind a little bit more. Rewind a little bit.
-
Why are we Christians? Why do we need to accept Christ? Okay,
-
because it's God's redemption plan for men. This like elementary stuff.
-
I need to address this just before I talk about
-
this ypership. We got to understand that we receive Christ
-
as our savior. Right, we receive him as our savior,
-
and we say, Lord, I receive you, and I admit
-
that you are my savior. And because of that you
-
have forgiven my sins, and with that I have a
-
relationship with you and a relationship with the Father. It's
-
all Scripturaler Jesus constantly say that you cannot go through
-
the Father, accept through him, and He's the way, the
-
trophy and a life.
-
Okay.
-
This is foundational stuff. Okay, if you disagree with it,
-
then please go to read your Bible some more because
-
it's super foundational. I'm not going to go too deep
-
into all the other things. But we have to understand
-
this first because if we don't catch this, we will
-
never understand desciper ship.
-
Or discipleship.
-
We will be a different form, right, a different understanding,
-
a different lifestyle. You know, discipleship might look like dressing
-
everybody must dress like me, Dan, but that's not true
-
and we shouldn't buy into that. So we have to
-
understand first why are we believers? Why do we receive Christ?
-
Why must we receive Christ the foundation of our faith?
-
Because God wants to redeem all of us from sin
-
and from death. And that's why Jesus came. Your catch
-
that to address at first? Kay, That's why Jesus came.
-
But have you thought about how is Christ going to
-
share this word? That's why we use the term good news.
-
We're sharing the good news to be built. Hey, you
-
don't have to suffer in sin anymore. You can be
-
redeemed through the blood of Christ, and through that you
-
are saved. And all you need is to act accept him.
-
How simple is that? Accept him, not change your name,
-
not start wearing crossers, nor accept Christ in your life.
-
Amen.
-
I hope it's not too deate for your Okay? Because
-
it is salvation to save us from our sins?
-
Right?
-
Why we need salvation so that we re establish a
-
relationship with God, so that whatever that I prayed for
-
just now can happen. See, without the redemption of Christ,
-
I have no right to pray to God because I'm
-
a sinner. If I don't acknowledge Christ in my life,
-
I don't acknowledge that God saved me, then the prayer
-
that I prayed just now will be But not, you
-
get I mean your catch that're not We don't do
-
things just because we do things. You know there is
-
a reason why we do things. Not and it's not
-
just a ritual we do. You know, it is a reality.
-
Your catch there not because if you're not care it
-
becomes a ritual and then it becomes all about transaction. Oh,
-
when I sin and I do re bet, then God
-
won't help me. God doesn't work that way. We have
-
to understand the reality of who we are as believers.
-
I'm accepting this guy into my life that died from
-
my sins. You guys know the scripture John three sixteen.
-
Let's read it together, for God so love the world
-
that He gave.
-
Amen. Hey, you guys need to know this scripture.
-
Know it is such a common scripture that we can
-
quod now that every Christian know it.
-
But we need to know it, no know it in
-
our heart.
-
No, for God so loved the world that he gave
-
his only Begoddess, only only Christ, that whosoever anyone believe
-
in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Please
-
remember the scripture. Please don't think it for granted. Please
-
don't rely on your Bible. App Amen, you're catching something.
-
And sorry, I have to speak truth to your I
-
hope you guys can take truth.
-
Right.
-
So, the last commission or instruction that Christ gave to
-
his disciples, Okay, why discipleship? Ever thought about it? Why
-
did God chose the strategy of discipleship to advance the
-
message and lifestyle and understanding?
-
Why?
-
Why not just prepare a sales pitch, prepare a PowerPoint,
-
prepare a video and show you that this is the way,
-
and then your follower? Ever thought about it? Why did
-
go use? Why is God.
-
Decided to use disciples instead? Have I thought about it?
-
Now?
-
I'm sure you're probably okay, based on your stairs, I
-
don't think you've thought about it. Sorry, I I think
-
personally I'm naturally a skeptic. See I'm saying that. It's
-
also funny because I'm a pastor off a church how
-
can I be a skeptic?
-
Right?
-
But naturally my default set thing is that I'm very skeptical.
-
One right when it is I, I remember, I wish
-
because both us are similar and in the way we
-
think a bit critical, a bit skeptical. So when a
-
prophet come in profers Siwana, I get super skeptical. One
-
really really right, And I like to ask these questions.
-
One got what you do is got? What you do
-
is got? Why to do this? And you want to know?
-
The cool thing when I ask these questions, God actually
-
answered me. You know, God actually showed me true scripture, Elvin.
-
This is why I do it, Elvin, is why as
-
I more critical about the scripture, more critical about what
-
I believe that God reveals. Do you know that that
-
itself is scriptural, that the Bible says or Jesus said,
-
you know that scripture that says, ask and you'll be answered,
-
Knock and the door will be open to you. Hey,
-
it's for all of us, know, meaning if you actually
-
ask God to clarify some things, he will.
-
Speak to you. That is my firm belief.
-
You don't have to you don't have to have a
-
title like a buzzard title because this is something that
-
I've experienced from a young person until now. Right, you guys, okay,
-
So why did God decide to use discipleship as strategy?
-
Have you thought about it? Never mind, Let's go deep
-
into discipleship and try to understand. Actually, God, why you
-
use the siper ship?
-
Why not? Just like now, alah, you know, the.
-
Strategy is you invite your friends and then I appreciate
-
them and then that's it. Right, No, he's discipleship, you know,
-
you know, it's discip Discipleship is messy, Decipership is personal.
-
Discipleship is painful. Decipership is more fun.
-
Decipership is I got to show people my life how
-
messed up my life is? You know, wait, I guess okay, okay,
-
let's go the definition of deciper ship. You're okay, not
-
you're like not excited or don't worry. I I it
-
will get better, you get better.
-
Okay.
-
So the definition of decipleship, So in the Bible, when
-
you study the word discipleship, of course, uh, if you
-
study King new King James, sorry King James version right,
-
which is the translation from the actual Greek to English, right,
-
it doesn't have the word disciple make disciples. In the translation,
-
it says teach them. He talks about teaching, teach them, teaching,
-
okayh meaning it's an action word.
-
It's not a it's not a noun. It's an action word.
-
Right, And to teach them is I'm not gonna attempt
-
to pronounce this, guys, scare I'll say it wrongly. But
-
the meaning behind this Greek word mateo okay, son, Simathias
-
or Matthew is to be a disciple of one is
-
to follow the person's precepts and instructions.
-
Follow the instruction.
-
Okay, Jesus, you say this, I follow this, then I'm
-
your disciple, right right. It also means to make a disciple,
-
to make someone, or to teach someone, or to instruct someone,
-
kind of like what I'm doing right now. I'm trying
-
to teach or instruct you, guys, in regard to the word,
-
in regard to the understanding of your catch debt. So
-
in a weird way, I am discipling your well not
-
realize it's correct, right, I am trying to instruct, but I.
-
See whether or not it's effective.
-
I'm not this another matter because some here might be doubting,
-
some here might be anxious something here. You don't know me,
-
you don't know me enough, or maybe you haven't read
-
you by way enough trust me enough to receive total lead.
-
You're your catch st so effectiveness maybe one hundred percent there.
-
Okay, But we talk about disciple ship.
-
Right is to become a pupil, right to enroll as
-
a scholar, a scholar.
-
I'm a scholar. I study. Right.
-
We've got a lot of scholars here. We've got a
-
lot of people who did masters pH d. Right, tell
-
you they got doctor title a lot, right. How many
-
doctors we have? We got doctor Jason. He's a medical doctor.
-
Okay. He's the only medical doctor that is legit can
-
help you on. Okay.
-
All the other doctors medically they can help you on. Okay,
-
So go to him, don't go to them. Okay, I
-
think doctor Jason. We've got doctor zn right. Do you
-
know that he is a doctor. Yeah, yeah, work haard,
-
Mam must call him doctor. Okay, to disciple, to instruct,
-
to teach, Okay. The noun of disciple is okay, I'm
-
not gonna pronounce it because I would definitely say wrongly. Okay,
-
it's a learner, pupil disciple one who follows one teaching.
-
So if I take that direct translation of discipleship and
-
understanding of the discipleship, that means that when we say
-
we are disciples of Christ, we should follow the teachings
-
of Christ.
-
Correct.
-
Okay, I'm gonna ask a question that might be out
-
to you. Are are you following the teachings of Christ
-
in your life? Don't raise up your hands, yes, pat Elvin,
-
I'm following ABC.
-
What but dfg uh? God cannot be talking about that, right?
-
Or we pick and choose?
-
Or are we fully following what Christ teaches us? Because see,
-
that's truly being a disciple. Okay, amen, are you guys
-
catching it on right? It's not just to come here
-
and to worship and to no, No, that's not being
-
a disciple. That's just joining a program. Being a disciple
-
is to follow the teachings of Christ. Right, to grow
-
in the teachings of Christ. It takes time to learn something, right,
-
My brother Alving, yep, I still remember last time when
-
we were younger and looking at no girlfriend yet and
-
we were talking constantly, Stay young, amen, he looks young, La,
-
maybe not me like he like? He looks young. He
-
looks looks like some Hong Kong stardy. And I remember
-
and he was in it work and all that kind
-
of stuff. And I really I'm from my brother because
-
every time someone says, oh, you know I do cybersecurity,
-
I have a I have a SUPERSTARFF and I introduce
-
you to you know, if I got a chance, and
-
he he and I remember having conversations him about, you know,
-
career progression and you might not know.
-
This, but he he.
-
He continued studying what he was working, he continued taking
-
That is, basically, there was no clear pathway for him
-
to do what he wanted to do.
-
I still remember him telling me this.
-
And he had to invest his own money, not Malaysian ringgate,
-
by US dollars to get certification on certain qualification that
-
will allow him to lend a role to learn more. Wow,
-
isn't that a disciple of cybersecurity? I mean fanilla sounds fanilla,
-
but correct. He's very quick what he does are okay,
-
please ask him where he's going after that. I'm just
-
I'm putting him on the spot. But you see, committed
-
to learning, committed to growing. Are we committed to following
-
Christ and learning Christ? Or is it going to just
-
be how the church treats me. Then I respond how
-
the leader in church treats me that I respond, no, no, no,
-
no no. The learning depends on who else or who
-
He had no teacher, he had no Bible. But my
-
friend who's doing very well right now, path his way?
-
Do you know that? Now? How many years are are bro?
-
Ten years? Fifteen years? Do you know that? Now?
-
They have degree on cybersecurity? If only it came out
-
last time? Right, they have degree on cybersecurity? You know
-
now now after.
-
So many years?
-
I mean you know what, you just wait like you
-
wait for another ten years for the degree in cybersecurity
-
to come out.
-
There only you start learning.
-
No, there was no way the commitment to learning, the
-
commitment to be a disciple of friends. Are you catching
-
something or not? Are you catching something or not? Whose responsibility?
-
Someone asked this question, whose responsibility is it? Is it
-
God's responsibility to teach me? Or is it my responsibility
-
to want to learn?
-
Yes?
-
Yes, yes, I understand. When we are younger, we don't
-
want to learn. Okay, I have smoke kids. I know
-
when we are younger, fos have to have to face.
-
I have to I don't want to go to school
-
out today.
-
Can you have that kind of attitude when you're in college, Gola,
-
you will fail. I don't want to go across to
-
day and your parents say, hello, I paid seventy thousand
-
a year to send you to this college. There is
-
a consequence, right, and you have to grow up and
-
make grown up decisions because you are mature hopefully now.
-
But when you're young. Yeah, So when someone comes into
-
our church and they are young young Christians, don't let's
-
not equate young with age young Christian. The person can
-
be fifty years older but have no idea about the
-
thing called Christianity, no idea about how to follow Christ.
-
Do you know that they start with the starterback We
-
teach him how to pray. But do you know that
-
God also is guiding them? Because I tell you, friends,
-
I'm very jealous for young Christians because I Christians so long.
-
I yeah, I feel sometimes, right, I have to pray
-
harder to get what I want. I'm just joking, joking,
-
don't jealous. But nah, a young Christian now pray one
-
time happening radio and but for us, you have to
-
like fast pray neil, you know, like you know. Then
-
then then then then maybe we'll see a sliver of
-
God doing something. Friends, isn't it like life itself? I
-
am for the for the treat this year, I think
-
on your account? Yeah, for the treaties.
-
Yere.
-
Imagine me go to my father, Daddy. I don't want
-
to work out today? Can you work for me?
-
Yeah? Wow? Exactly? Wow? Right? Wow? And I got two kids?
-
No?
-
Wow?
-
Indeed? Can I act like that? I can't. I just
-
buck up. I have a very bad day. Just I
-
we wear a bad day. I don't go work.
-
I don't feel like it. I don't feel like it.
-
I don't feel like I'm in church. Sounds very funny,
-
right I'm saying it here. No, I'm just just buck
-
up and do what I need to do because I'm responsible,
-
because I'm mature, because I understand pain, and it's more
-
painful if I don't do it later on?
-
Are you catching something?
-
So?
-
The definition of a disciple is to be a learner
-
everyone here, friends, wherever you are in your faith, you
-
should want to learn more about Christ. But beyond learning more,
-
you should want to follow what you learn about him.
-
He talks about forgiving. Are we better forgive us?
-
Nowadays? He talks about praying for the sake.
-
He talks about faith faith as big as are we
-
quick to praying all for people. The more we learn,
-
the more we commit ourselves to Him, the more we
-
grow in our faith, the more we grow in our faith.
-
And can I give you another encouragement, God meets you
-
where you're at. I think I'm saying the few times
-
before God will meet you where at He's not gonna
-
or you know something, we have this perception like, oh,
-
once I say yes to God, He'll send me to Timbuktu.
-
He's not going to do that. Friends, he will send
-
you to Desa amal.
-
Jaira first twenty minutes away to go and meet a
-
refugee kid that lost their grandmother. I went to Ams
-
I think a few weeks back, and I brought my
-
youngest son and they were so encouraged, and we had
-
kids there misplaced because of the war, and there was
-
a child that very mature and all trying not to
-
cry sharing. I said, what can I pray for you?
-
And said, I want to pray that my parents have
-
enough money so that we can fly back to see
-
my grandma. Where where you fly back to Indonesia Indonesia
-
or expensive our friends, because my grandma's not doing well.
-
She's going to pass on soon. I want to see
-
her face to face.
-
He's not going to send you to Timbak too first, No,
-
he's going to send you to these places in Malaysia.
-
Ex Elma to Mini, to these people.
-
There is a call on our lives, friends, there is
-
a call. And when we obey God and when we
-
follow Christ the Holy Spirit. Leaders, Amen, let's talk about
-
the heart of discipleship. And there was a slide that,
-
you know, I think Pastor flashed up in the Global
-
Leaders and I thought it was just so simple, you know,
-
because when you talk about discipleship, there are a lot of
-
forms of discipership. Oh come, let's go and do a
-
discipleship program. Oh come, let's go and do a Bible
-
study so that we can learn more about Christ. So come,
-
let's let's let's all kinds of programs are friends. But discipleship,
-
the heart of discipleship is simply this, to be like Jesus,
-
to do like Jesus, and to make more people of
-
the same. Is it simple enough for you now? Is
-
it simple enough for your now? Are we being more
-
like Christ? I asked myself that question. Every day, am
-
I being more like Christ? Am I being more like
-
a devil?
-
Until now? I'm learning things though. Let me give you
-
an example.
-
So I'm very as you can see as I'm preaching,
-
I'm very quick on now with my I'm very trigger trigger,
-
very fast triggered and not fast triggered lot, but trigger happy,
-
okay when it comes to certain things, especially when you
-
know I'm in a conversation, and my wife has constantly
-
My wife is a more chill person in the family,
-
So my wife has constantly encouraged me. Okay, your system
-
encouraged me to be a little bit less quicker when
-
I'm talking to my kids because I was straight away
-
because I know what they want, ma, they were on it.
-
I was straight away.
-
That's me alat, But wouldn't it help with our our
-
communication relationship if I can just shut up for a
-
few seconds and listen to them.
-
Because where am I rushing to?
-
Right?
-
Right here?
-
Where am I rushing? I'm not rushing anywhere. See, I'm
-
learning this. I'm forty two. I'm learning this, okay, and
-
I'm learning to let my eldest talk. And my wife
-
now now she I can see her out because like
-
she she does this to me a few times a day.
-
So I does.
-
I can't always feel that, so that when I feel that,
-
like okay, be going, he helps, he helps, he helps.
-
In last I don't feel that like just say only
-
you know I can feel this. I feel that like okay,
-
come down, come to then and wait wait for the
-
rest one. And it was good because yesterday or so
-
I just used the example. So yesterday, he's growing up.
-
I'm so thankful he's growing up. It's big boy ready.
-
First time I think went for teens, uh Stean Smogle
-
you know me, and I think they Then first time
-
I was all right, yeah, Dean smog up, things are
-
growing up. When and then they had dinner after that,
-
so we asked him an we give hi choice loud
-
and more mature. I said, so boy, do you want
-
to go to dinner or not? We asked him now
-
right then he like, I don't know. Up to you.
-
Then we're like, no, up to you, you know, and
-
then in the end he's like, okay, if you're okay,
-
I'll go there. Like okay, go there and gave me
-
some cash, you know, I say, hey, make sure you
-
pay her you know, because first time, first time, first time,
-
a lot of first time, make sure you pay for
-
a meal and all that kind of stuff. So uh,
-
they went, they ate, they came back. He gave him
-
the car and then he he he he said, he
-
said I didn't pay for my meal, and I got
-
gun junk no because I feel bad. I'm like, huh
-
didn't pay for a meal. Then I straight away reacted.
-
Then my wife stopped me and say no, teacher team
-
already blanche him. They're like oh and then because again
-
this is how trigger trigger quick, I am my.
-
Son felt bad and then I to deal with that.
-
After that, why so triggered b and we actually had
-
a conversation. He said, I wanted to tell you already
-
that I didn't pay for my meal because teacher team,
-
because I was first time. Then teacher Tam wanted to
-
bless me, and then I did, and he feel badter No,
-
of course I gave him the cash. He's training bout Xanila, right,
-
and he felt bad. He's like that is not happy, right,
-
And I said okay, And I actually had to tell him.
-
I said, thanks for sharing me son. I I'm sorry
-
because I have a tendency to jump into conclusions, and
-
I have a tendency to say things quickly without hearing
-
you out.
-
So I apologize. I hope you forgive me.
-
And then he come down. He said, okay, Thede, I
-
forgive you, and I said thanks. Now I said this
-
something I need to learn. This something I need to learn.
-
I need to learn to be not quick to say,
-
but to be slow to say. You know who else
-
is slow to say?
-
Jesus?
-
He listened to you first. He asked questions. You know nah,
-
like that you singer you? He doesn't do that, Thank God.
-
I am not Jesus. Okay, I want to be more
-
like Jesus. Okay, funny story, are you guys catching something
-
and not? We should be more like Christ, right, we
-
should be more christ Like.
-
Amen. I pray you have that.
-
And again, it's a it. We all have our default thing,
-
but we have to slowly get out of it. We
-
have to sortly lead ourselves out of it. Friends, Can
-
I tell you one of the biggest lies that's been
-
told us or that we have accepted in our life
-
right that it will be a detriment or progress this liar,
-
I am like that one accept me for who I am, friends,
-
can I lay.
-
That to rest?
-
We accept you for who you are because in this
-
church we accept everyone. You know why because God accepts everyone. Okay,
-
so let's not argue about that accepted. Everybody is accepted.
-
Here, how poor, how rich you are, how much you
-
do dress, whether you wear nice or not, whether you
-
are fashionable nor fashionable, we accept you.
-
Please come, We love you. Please come. Jesus accepts everyone.
-
But don't stay there your catch it. Don't stay therehead.
-
Don't use that as an excuse.
-
I'm not that one.
-
I will never clap my hands and jump. And you
-
know because some req I pray in my heart. Friends,
-
the Bible says, if you don't say anything and you
-
don't praise, the.
-
Lot that rocks will cry out.
-
Okay, Bibles say no, I say yah, friends don't believe
-
in their life.
-
We all can grow, We all can progress. Yes, you
-
might be not like that now, it's okay, but we
-
move forward. We don't know like Christ yet, It's okay.
-
We continue and and some of us here are better
-
some things. Some of you here are better at encouraging people.
-
Some of you have very compassionate one I am super
-
non compassionate at all.
-
That's why I say that. You know, people don't believe
-
me by I don't think I am but something. You're
-
very compassionate.
-
One.
-
You've got the heart of Jesus. You know the heart
-
of mercy. Praise the Lord.
-
You have that gift. Right, I am unmerciful. I need
-
to learn more mercy. Can we read some scriptures today?
-
I guess okay? You nine? When he treated he says it.
-
Then he said to them, if anyone desires to come
-
after me, let him deny himself and take up his
-
cross daily and follow me that scripture itself and just
-
destroy all that. I'm like that one. Yeah, you're like that,
-
but you got to deny yourself.
-
Right.
-
One of the greatest for those of you and Mary
-
understand is why did the Bible say? Yes, the Bible said,
-
why submit to your husband? But the biblesill added, husband,
-
love your wives as Christ loves the church.
-
How did Christ love the church? He later his life
-
for the church.
-
Right, Husband's you're feeling it now, you're laying out a
-
lot of things, laying down your PS five. Let him
-
deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.
-
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it.
-
But whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
-
John thirteen twenty four twenty five says, a new commandment.
-
I gave to you that you love on another.
-
Friends.
-
If you don't love your neighbor or love on another,
-
it's very difficult. As I have loved you, that you
-
also love on another. By this, all will know that
-
you are my disciples.
-
If we love one another, everyone will know that we
-
are christ disciples. Hey, those people are that follow Jesus?
-
All very loving? One? Now is it true? Are we
-
really loving? Or are we critical? You know?
-
Other day I kim Chesha then Tima just now sang
-
the happy Birthday song of ky You know my birthday?
-
You know?
-
Oh my good nurse? Is that loving? I'm just joking.
-
I know something. We won't do that? Do we love
-
one another? John fifteen, sixteen seventy.
-
He says, you do not choose me, But I chose
-
you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit,
-
and that your fruit should remain. That whatever you ask
-
the Father in my name, he may give you these things.
-
I command you that you love one another. Collosons one,
-
and I says him. We preach wanting every man and
-
teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present
-
every man perfect in crisis a sea. That's the reason
-
why we have discipleship. It's not to control your life.
-
It's ultimately to so in your life, so that you
-
are presented perfect to the Lord in Christ Jesus. No,
-
not perfect in yourself, in perfect in Christ Jesus. To
-
this end, I also labeled striving according to his working
-
which works in me mightily. You know who was the one?
-
I said, Paul apostle. Paul, he's quite Sadidia. He's like
-
the epitom of Christianity, you know. But he also, yeah,
-
I still am a work in progress because Christ is perfect.
-
But we're all started getting there. Friends, all of us
-
aware in progress. Mean you and me right, but let's
-
work together. Meant you four nineteen says, And he said
-
to them, follow me, and I will make you vicious
-
of men.
-
Why am I.
-
Sharing all these scriptures because you see the more scriptures
-
about Christ teachings this whole make disciples.
-
It's not a church thing, you know. It is a
-
God thing reaching out to people. It's not just a
-
oh the church, one more member, no friends. It is
-
God thing. The good News is the good news for
-
a reason, and we have received it and benefited from it.
-
Why are we keeping into ourselves something to think about?
-
I guys, Okay, so I hope I've covered a little
-
bit about the sibership. But let me talk a little
-
bit about the expression of discipleship in our church.
-
Okay.
-
I use the word expression because it is just terms, friends,
-
So let's not get to hung up on terms. We
-
understand the heart from the Bible, and now the question
-
is how do we apply it? And in our church,
-
I mean others I'm not going to talk about, but
-
in ex church, we are big on this cybership. Right here,
-
we have this thing called huddles. That's what we call huddles, right,
-
And what is hoddles? Howddles is basically a deeper cipleship,
-
relationship deeper Why because I just use this for example,
-
am I discipling you guys?
-
Now? So off I am kinder, right?
-
I mean, if you respect me as a pastor and
-
I'm here and I'm sharing and you receive, you are
-
being disciples because you're learning the word, You're becoming more
-
like you just correct. But you see, it's very hard
-
for me to to get accountability from everyone here like
-
that very difficult, right, unless you trust me or you're new,
-
it's very difficult, right, So it's not very effective.
-
Right.
-
Jesus also preached, he preached someone of the mount, but
-
when he was on the cross, right, even his you
-
know when he was when different challenges happened. Now there
-
will only twelve with him. So there's that level of
-
closeness in the twelve disciples that later on deep great
-
Things and mid more disciples. You see the significance of that. Right,
-
That's why hardles is important, especially in our church. Let
-
me show you this diagram something that a pastor can
-
drove out again for understanding terms.
-
Okay, it's basically the huddle. So so we start with
-
the huddle, right.
-
Some of you have heard this term before, which hoddle
-
you're in, right, And the word hddle came from And
-
this is just pass Academ's term's Rey Greate terms, right,
-
the expression of it. The word huddle came from because
-
Pars the Academy used to play American football. If you
-
didn't know, yeah, yeah, he used to. I think he
-
can steal uh and I think he was a quarterback
-
or something like that. And in American football, right, they
-
will actually different sports will hoddle, right, Like, let's say
-
they're playing the game, then they will haddle to like strategize,
-
we strategize, talk about it. Then then they're going to
-
do that thing, right, So that is what the hodder
-
is supposed to do. We are playing this game called life.
-
We're doing things, we are playing livee We're doing and
-
then we haddle up. We had Hey, you know I'm
-
going to a Hey, I'm not sure we drop a
-
new Hey, I need prayer. We huddle up so that
-
later we can go and play this game of life
-
and win.
-
Amen.
-
That's why the term huddle, because we need to hurdle.
-
You need to rest, we need to come together. That's important.
-
It takes time, time out hoddle. It was happening. Now
-
we are going off tangent, come back, come back. We
-
need strategized as huddle. And of course the next layer
-
is homes are corona. How many of you here are
-
in homes? Just wave your hand in homes right, So
-
you're in homes. So is that discipleship happening at homes? Yes,
-
there is your heart, your lead by a home leader
-
will teach you things, care for you. There's some form
-
of discipleship happening right in homes, but again it may
-
not be as close as he correct for those who
-
understand what that is is a deeper relationship. You know,
-
it takes time to build a harder relationship, right, you
-
talk about difficult things. You know, sometimes things are being
-
addressed that you don't like, you know, But in homes
-
it's homes are right, it's a smaller group. You get
-
to go closer, you get to have funds up together.
-
But you know, some people might like, oh, I don't
-
want to go deeper, you know, I yeah. And then
-
from there you have the house. So the house is
-
this lab.
-
This is the house. So there is another happening in
-
the house.
-
There is still disciples you see every layer that's the discipleship,
-
but it goes deeper and deeper.
-
Right, you're seeing that.
-
Okay, I'm just sharing you this concepts so you understand.
-
So if you're here and you just come on a
-
Sunday and all and just don't join homes and all,
-
it's still happening deciper ship. But is he effective?
-
Maybe not? Do you get the support? Maybe not? Right?
-
Right, because if I say, hey, you know, can you
-
go in hoddle and disciple another person? Maybe that's not happening, right,
-
But in a hoddle, when I work with a person
-
in a hoddle, the desire is that he will he
-
he he. I mean guy to guy, girl to girl, okay, right,
-
for very practical reasons are okay, friends, very practical reasons.
-
Because you go deep right.
-
That the guys in mahaddle will disciple another person, then
-
I'm fully doing what God is asked me to do.
-
Make disciples, and the disciples make are the disciples, and
-
the disciples make other disciples. And then you catch that,
-
you'll catch that. So the house, you have the house,
-
and then there's another layer. Hangouts or what's hangouts are?
-
I know there's a pickupball group here, right, pickaball the
-
latest sport, right?
-
Hangouts?
-
You know, in hangouts it's a bit more informal, right,
-
and maybe it's mostly Christians or mostly people. But then
-
you have one of two friends and say I want
-
to join, and then they also get disciples because maybe
-
they come and then through the different times you're there,
-
they trust you enough to share their problem. And then
-
you say, maybe I'll pray for you. So there is
-
still a sense of discipleship happening, but it's very surface level, right,
-
So is it happening? Question is do we recognize it happening?
-
Do we even recognize that discipleship can happen?
-
Or no?
-
Hangout cannot be a discipleship must only when I have
-
had learn it can disciple? You know, in the in
-
the homes, Oh no, sorry, in the homes okay, later,
-
can just give you there in the homes. You cannot
-
talk about Jesus in home she talked about Jesus in
-
how she talk about Jesus. In hangout, we don't talk
-
about Jesus. We don't talk about we don't you know,
-
we don't talk We don't. It's is taboo friends, people
-
get offended. No, there is disap happening in hangouts.
-
If you really are Christ follower, wouldn't you share your
-
testimony to your friend about how God is doing your life?
-
Don't make it weird? Lot of friends.
-
Don't praise the Lord Hallelujah, don't don't lie, don't make it.
-
We're chill, love friends, chill you praise the Hallelujah here? Okay, right, No,
-
I will be cross you know my pickupball God call
-
every time I want to, I pray. Please don't become
-
the Kurd Christian cannot I'm exaggerating by you know what
-
I mean? And another layer is the harvest trying to remember,
-
I think we have a few people in PJ campus
-
students that are pre believers, not not believers yet. Harvest
-
means people are not believers yet. Don't you think you
-
can also disciple people harvest. I've heard a story about
-
how Alishah Praise prayed for her her. I mean, this
-
is a rebel story a long time ago where Alisha
-
prayed for her was it a pregnant now or sick.
-
Pregnant?
-
Pregnant right and prayed and like had pain or something
-
and then got healed right or something like that. Yeah,
-
the person's not believe.
-
You.
-
I don't know.
-
Are you seeing this this picture on this ibership? Are
-
you seeing this picture on this sibership? But that's the
-
thing about us now. I think the other question I
-
will ask us here to consider is where are we at?
-
Are we just harvest? Now? Oh? I'm har us? Actually
-
this thing is? Or am I deeper? Am I in
-
a hangout?
-
Oh?
-
I only like it when I'm chilling with you guys,
-
but once you talk about the Holy spirin or it's okay,
-
ay bye, I'm like that.
-
No, and I know you know? Is it? Or is
-
it a house only? No, I can't church enough to
-
day Amen, that's it? Or homes?
-
We love homesir, We love home so much. We come
-
to homes more often, and we come to church because
-
I love the fellowship I love. Is it just about
-
fellowship friends, or is it about following Jesus? Sorry, yeah,
-
I really said I'm gonna step on those today? Or
-
or is it about having a decipers relationship with someone
-
we trust, with someone that we we can build a
-
relationship with someone and say, hey, I need someone to
-
spur me on in my faith.
-
How real do we want to be friends? How do
-
we make disciples? Well, let me make it simple for you.
-
Doing life together, That's how I think disciples. The only
-
way we have this term in xts. Do we do
-
life together?
-
In your up, in your down, in your marriage, problems
-
in your relationship, problems in your job, we do life together.
-
Doing life together is may see, you know, doing life
-
together it is painful. Now, doing life together is being honest?
-
You want another.
-
Or do we compartmentalize? Is that truly about the cipership?
-
We compartmentalize Jesus in the box spending time. I asked
-
you a simple question. Do you think discipleship is just
-
about program or it's really spending time with one another?
-
I tell you the milestones of my faith. I can
-
always recreate it with conversations I had with my discipler.
-
I mean, do I get like a revelation from the
-
Lord and read the word and go, go God, Go God.
-
But the biggest lessons I've learned in my life is
-
always when I'm talking to my discipler and when there's
-
an ouch moment or there's a revelation moment, or when
-
I'm going through something and wow, and then I grow.
-
Awdules And of course teaching people for allow Christs. Hey,
-
I'm following Christ? You a social phollow Christ? Hey, I'm
-
doing this. You wanna you enjoy me?
-
What?
-
What?
-
What?
-
What will help you? We encourage and to pull your
-
other on right?
-
First Corntans eleven one, imitate me just as a immediate Christ.
-
Do you know how bold that statement is? I say,
-
we fear and traveling. I say knowing that I can
-
fail and times I'm human, I will make mistakes. Amen,
-
by guys. Okay, before we end, there are two things
-
I want to do. I want to show you a
-
picture of thecipership. I kind of did this in the
-
xpj uh like retreated, but I know not everybody is there.
-
So I just want to show you how a picture
-
of discipleship looks like in our church. Remember I said
-
expression of the scipership, and then you tell me whether
-
you think it looks like.
-
Jesus one or not.
-
Jesus has eleven and of course the eleven that were
-
with Jesus with him all the way, and they didn't
-
have their own disciples until he left lot, you know, right,
-
But here you don't have to wait until or disciple
-
leave or leave this earth before you start making disciples,
-
lave friends. Okay, so let me start with my owner. Okay,
-
doctor Jason, are you here? I know, I know he's
-
supposed to come down actually well from the bank of
-
the good Wow, no music, Well, okay, can just stand here,
-
So okay, so I will do it.
-
Be Q and a come, come come. He's so shy,
-
I mean, so shy.
-
This is the same doctor Jason that if they're looking
-
for extreme people. Okay, yeah, yeah, okay, So let me
-
ask you a few questions, like when did we first meet?
-
Do you remember twelve? What was the occasion?
-
Uh pj XPG is first service studio on too?
-
Okay? Yeah.
-
Then because of the time, just returned from Melbourne. So
-
I was looking for the church. Then that's fair. This
-
is the XPJA is still on to set right behind?
-
Okay?
-
And then you know that afterwards ship the prayer time,
-
right you thought you see behind a safe No, this
-
guy walked all the way back.
-
Yeah, because he was alone and I was chairing.
-
Then he said this, I mean, I can't pray for you?
-
Yeah, me and you? Thankful? Right? I did that? Sorry?
-
Sorry they're married by the way anyway, yeah jo joey Okay, yeah,
-
so we met. How how was the early years of
-
the ybership? He wasn't deciper ship? Yesid Jason, you want
-
to be my handy there?
-
Do that?
-
I remember?
-
And of course the time I was, I was working
-
and can I say I was working at more Ash.
-
Then there was once you called me off for lunch okay,
-
and then you're just talking about church.
-
How was I, you know, settling down the ax and
-
then you kind of prompted with you know, I was
-
open to the idea of entering and how the relationship.
-
You from the first meeting on assay really well, I
-
was so determined.
-
But because I think you knew that my church back
-
in Melbourne was okay, okay, yeah, so much my church
-
in Melbourne, so we didn't callite disciples caite shepherding system,
-
right right, So they meant the disciple was called a shepherd,
-
and then the disciples called the sheep.
-
See see what I mean by trigger happy. I have
-
learned so much.
-
You give the context that you didn't have to be
-
about the bushboss. I knew I understand this.
-
Yeah, trigger happy.
-
Yeah, So when you asked, I just said yes, I think.
-
Okay, okay, okay, yes. Then how has it been like
-
how often we met in the early earliest.
-
Early years, mad quite often. Now, I mean not just
-
me face to face, but you know you are some
-
messaging and stuff. But I might say, like the first
-
few years, maybe like twenty the teen. In twenty fifteen,
-
whenever I got a phone call from you, the first
-
thing is, oh, no, did I do something wrong?
-
It happens, But did you do something wrong.
-
But actually because of this like perception, I think we
-
you had you had to talk to me about that
-
now ah, okay, so you felt that it was also
-
something that hindered us from building that relationship.
-
Right right, I probably sense you were very guarded. What's happening?
-
Yes, I mean they were they were good times and
-
they were also tough time stuff.
-
Yeah, we'll be in the same homes we were then No,
-
then yes, then why why not?
-
Because oh I was sent out.
-
Two planet homes? Right, I see, he was sent out
-
to planet homes. Okay, how is it now now?
-
Like? Is it as often as last time?
-
Now's not as often as last time? Okay, the frequency
-
of content is high enough?
-
Frequency of contact what you mean like.
-
Troue WhatsApp phone calls and then like Sunday Saturdays just
-
coming out to say hi to me and I usually.
-
Okay okay, having to pray for me. Yeah, but like
-
what micro contacts are not like sit for two hours
-
and thought right?
-
No, no, yeah, the one really well I want in
-
the world now, No, because we all have our own
-
families and comments as well.
-
How have you grown in the membership? Our first question
-
is how long really we are together?
-
How long is this?
-
Yes?
-
Yes, okay, yes, How have you grown in the membership.
-
Us? And how I've grown individually?
-
Yeah, how you're growing individually? Like is it good? A
-
good thing that you did it?
-
And I think I think it's a good thing because
-
I think it's high in chapann Okay, because my younger days,
-
I thought you really I.
-
Woun't say still young yeah, yeah, but my younger days.
-
You know, we have the tendency to think that we
-
always right and that we only have this point of view,
-
that this is, this has this has got to be
-
the way.
-
But you know, to this a push you, you know,
-
when you share your views. Sometimes I really don't like it, okay,
-
and sometimes I think we argue about it.
-
We argue about it, okay, you know, but I thought
-
she is all like sunshine and Rainbow say, oh no, no.
-
No, okay, cry, I think we should I shot you.
-
Okay, I don't remember, but KK you remember, I.
-
Remember you remember?
-
Oh we were just having Yeah, I shot back, okay, okay.
-
You kept quiet, you can't, yeah, but I remember that.
-
I think I forgot what you were talking about, right
-
right right, We're saying some things, and I think I
-
was quite offended. And then I think I said something
-
like this exactly why I feel I can plan up
-
to you because it sounds.
-
Like my father, and.
-
That went really bi okay, okay, sure.
-
I think I think that's also a turning point because
-
you didn't shot back. I remember you just kept quiet.
-
You really took it in whatever I said.
-
Yeah, And.
-
I think after that, I think the Hobly is great
-
led you in in the conversation. I think I think
-
you turned the whole conversation around. So I remember I
-
left a dinner not feeling like should I just said
-
this that I'm not your pastor that's okay?
-
I can shout now the time, does CBC b compan right?
-
Right?
-
Right? Sure?
-
But I think I think as I mentioned to you now,
-
and I think over the years, I think especially when
-
I was started to you know, court Minion and you
-
know it was at that time, it can conceal that
-
it was quite unstable waters right, right, I don't know
-
how to really navigate the situation, and I think you
-
always broke things down very easily for me.
-
And I've said this too many times.
-
I think the words of advice or counsel that you
-
give always gives me a lot of assurance that because
-
sometimes I do know whether what I'm thinking is correct,
-
what I'm doing is correct, and you know, to have
-
the assurance that yeah, that's fine.
-
I think as far as you're sharing, you don't think yeah,
-
I think that's fine. I think you should me sounds
-
like gods in the picture. That kind of think. That
-
gives a lot of assurance.
-
Sometimes you wonder like might hearing correctly and my applying
-
gods wor wrongly, that sort of stuff. So I think,
-
I think, and especially pandemic, Oh, that was a time
-
that was really hellish for me because of why I
-
had at work and I think, you know, past that
-
I've been really looked up.
-
For my well being, and.
-
He didn't.
-
I mean, it came the point where he actually was
-
re open say if you need a stand up of leadership,
-
just that it's okay, just just take the break.
-
No, but the CPC must always forced people into leadership.
-
I remember the conversationally saying no, if you need just
-
just take the break. Yeah you were really cool, which
-
actually person right, right right, because I.
-
Didn't expect that from trigger happy trigger happy.
-
Just take a break.
-
That.
-
But and then that when I joined back your homes.
-
Oh okay, that was PG five, which yeah, PG five,
-
very familiar name. I was leading PG five at the time,
-
and then pandemic happened. Then got quite exhausted and you know,
-
stressed out for work and h and then you noticed it.
-
You know, you called me, encouraged me.
-
You pray for me.
-
Almost every week every Sunday after service, you're giving a call,
-
but I can stand by on the phone because yeah, so,
-
you know, really healed after that being a home sport.
-
I was relieved from most of the duties. So then
-
that really gave restore some sanity.
-
Well, and now you're back with a vengeance. You cannot.
-
But of course they've been challenging changing that not.
-
Don't be rosy, but I think this supposed she was
-
also the platform where I was very challenged, like you know,
-
taking over that worship team.
-
Especially call later, I kind of sense that he was
-
going to ask me really, and then.
-
I was yeah, and I was very surprised that you
-
say yes actually so yeah.
-
So I think I think this actually really kind of
-
built up a lot of endurance, a lot of obedience, humility,
-
but I think also the assurance that yeah, I know,
-
especially pre marital consoling as well. I think great, thanks
-
the chance as well. I think both of you really
-
helped us true in our p MC uh yeah right.
-
Yeah that's good. So who else you disciple Timothy? You
-
want to call one of them or both of them?
-
Who? Yeah?
-
Yeah?
-
Who?
-
Who you wanna call? Just call one that one?
-
PC?
-
Got time or not? No, it's no time today, are
-
you guys? Okay? If we just you know, just few
-
my my wife's have got time? Okay, yeah, sure, but
-
we'll do it quickly. Who you un called?
-
You can't come on the station, can call premis Actually, yeah,
-
call you faster, faster. We don't have time, guys. Yeah, yeah,
-
any question you asked them? I getting I asked, I asked, yeah,
-
I asked. I just wanted to see. I'm not here
-
to to boast your I'm here to show you a
-
picture about how it looks, right, And just to be
-
very clear, I know he's been very he's very honoring
-
his words. But I can tell you half the time,
-
I don't know why I tell him. I cannot even remember,
-
right because as a harder leader, and I think a
-
lot of harder leaders here or disciplers here who understand
-
this principle.
-
We rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us and
-
it has to do with a person.
-
So he will remember. But I didn't even remember the
-
shutter at me. But I remember now the issue that
-
he had. Yeah, but thankfully it was resolved, you know.
-
So yeah, okay, So now we asked a team. So
-
how is the disappership relationship with doctor Jason?
-
Awesome? Awesome?
-
Wow?
-
Wow? Yeah, please please describe, please summarize.
-
You know, I've known him for some time. I think
-
of position, he came quite organ Uh. He was the
-
first person I actually really connected to.
-
Okay, made me feel.
-
And hold on, do you intentionally talk to him?
-
No?
-
Didn't homes homestad okay, true homes through homes.
-
Contact was I was here quite long, lady. But everything
-
I'm new because I'm not really connected to anyone. But
-
until I remember of the dition seeing my Facebook. Oh
-
you play guitar?
-
Yes?
-
Oh you see. So what do you benefit in your
-
faith in regardsous typer ship?
-
Uh?
-
I think I get challenge especially.
-
I think the one thing I really really value is
-
that I get challenge in terms of my fixed ways.
-
I think sometimes I think what you said about sometimes
-
being this is who I am and this is the
-
way I see it. And then when you get a
-
different perspectively hurts and it's very challenging and you have
-
to take a step back, and then you have to
-
ask God, God, is that you?
-
And then the answer is always yes.
-
And so I think that has always allowed me to
-
see the voice of God beyond what is my biases.
-
And I think that that has really really pushed me
-
to where I am today.
-
That's good. How about you?
-
Usual for the first question is how is it with Jason?
-
And what do you you know what benefits? But no
-
benefits are can say no, like, let's be honestly, I
-
had no benefit, but yeah, how is it like?
-
How is it like with Jason? How do you progress?
-
Is it like?
-
Uh as as a unique student on an upcoming to church? Right,
-
and whenever we see his messageous it will be like
-
why are you in church today? So it was initially
-
like a more like a like a like a pan
-
sound like a like a class monitor, class monitor initially,
-
but I think like because I attend his homes, I
-
think no choice can run away. I think doctor Jason's
-
way of being very personal, being very real, right, really
-
allowed me to really just connect, but also to see
-
that's an example that I can imitate. Yeah, not someone
-
that I always try to burst. I think that's the
-
way I believe, but someone that I can observe you
-
from a side and she to see him as.
-
As someone how I can carry on. It's encouraging us.
-
Cool cock cool.
-
So how do you grow in your faith in regardsity
-
typership generally? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, like this disapparenturely they
-
contribute to you growing your faith.
-
That's like how how.
-
I think to see how he's a true man of
-
God and how he whatever he does?
-
Wow, God, First, I.
-
Think that's person and foremost is really like you just
-
need me take him that.
-
I mean, like, wow, you're better than me. Bro Okay, okay, cool,
-
Thank you so much to give them a hand. Thanks
-
so much. There's one more example I want to show
-
you so that you know that it's not just we're
-
gonna invite Edline to come, but.
-
No, you'll come up. Maybe we'll just do it here
-
because I know it'd be difficult. So Edeline come come. Lynn.
-
So Edlin is one of our H one leaders as well.
-
She's under uh bast Sandra and we're not married. I
-
married her, she's married Paster Mat Okay, so just to
-
clarify that. But we're good friends and you want to
-
invite your your Okay, firstly, maybe ask you what is
-
your true the decisions with Cenra?
-
How have you grown in your faith? And what do
-
you think about the ERP ship?
-
Mmm.
-
I've been in export twenty three years, so a long time,
-
and I think from the moment I stepped into eggs,
-
I think Sandra really welcomed me and really been there
-
for me through the highs and lows, and I really
-
see her really serving the Lord, you know, really titledly So, yeah,
-
so she's that role model for Mila in terms of discipleship.
-
Yeah.
-
Then then who are you discipling?
-
One of them is Josephine. Maybe I can invite Josephine.
-
Yeah, so Joe, same question with Yushan and Tim. Firstus
-
how has the decaper relationship with Edlinn? And then second
-
one is what do you how do you grow in
-
your faith in the area of discipleship?
-
Oh?
-
Sorry was the second Quesson?
-
Oh?
-
Okayly I know him. I know her since twenty twenty nine,
-
all night two, all night the first year that I
-
seven the X and I came under her discipleship some
-
years later because I was initially under elone who is
-
in X Melbourne now. So however benefited. I think you
-
talk about what disciples ship is, it's about doing life
-
together and spending time together. I think that is really
-
what I see both of us have been doing that.
-
I know whenever I need to talk to someone about
-
situations or anything, she will be there for me. So
-
she will really spend time with me to talk about things.
-
And I know that you know I have like we
-
have that access to user. I can straightway call her
-
and say I need to talk to you about something,
-
and then she will really quickly avail herself to talk
-
to me. So I really appreciate that time with me.
-
Yeah, mm hmm.
-
I I learned that, you know now that I've experienced
-
and benefited from there. I want to make sure that
-
I spend time with my goals as well, that when
-
they call me when they need to talk about things
-
or don't have to wait until a situation arises, I
-
always tell them I'm here, so if you need to talk,
-
I'm always here. The borrow ears and and Matias can
-
never be an excuse or a hindrance yea to do that. Yes,
-
I think it depends on the person's phase of maturity
-
or face as well. I think it where how you disciple,
-
It really depends on the person's faith. Uh, and I think, yeah,
-
it's more than just uh spending time doing devotion together
-
as well spending Yeah, I think it's more than just
-
spending time. But I think it's very crucial that we
-
spend time because this is where we build connection and
-
go deeper. Yeah ah, yes, yeah some of them. Duran, Duran,
-
Duran is one of them. Yeah, yeah, Duran, we are
-
in the same homes as well.
-
Yeah, so.
-
Everybody is shy, So how is that this appecially? Be honest?
-
It was lovely, It was good. And just like how
-
if jok. Every time I have a situation so I
-
have to talk to and text her, she will also
-
avail herself to text me and then you assure me
-
in my journey of faith and she keep me grounded.
-
And then whatever situations or decisions I may, it's not
-
based on what I really wanted, but also how God
-
where God wants me to do it.
-
So yeah, that not not yet, Thank you everybody give
-
them a hand.
-
I know I don't have primarly, so I just thought,
-
I give you that picture, you know, And that's our
-
expression of discipleship in our church. And if again see
-
it's not just our leadership only or whatever. It's it's
-
sewing into the life of another person.
-
And it's messy.
-
You get shouted at, and I can you say as
-
an example, and but it is a biblical principle. In fact,
-
it is the commandment because as you can hear, it's
-
not yes, it's life, but it's not just life. It's
-
life in faith because it isn't following Jesus a lifestyle.
-
In every area. The way we work, the way we
-
do our relationships, the way we find our lot partner,
-
the way we raise our kids, in the way of
-
the Lord. It compasses everything, right, you can see it doesn't.
-
But you also can't see this. It's messy, right, it's messy,
-
it's not perfect. So you'll probably oh, yeah, I experienced
-
that in my heart. So once I angree, I don't
-
want anymore.
-
Do you know that Jesus took at bitter and said,
-
get there behind me, Satan, But Peter still follow him?
-
Whose responsibility when you talk about discipleship, Is it the discipler. Yes,
-
the discipler has a responsibility.
-
To make sure they keep close to God and to
-
make sure they care for not just care, but disciples
-
the person.
-
Well, that is the responsibility. But discipleship is a choice. Friends,
-
Jesus asked his disciplus, do you know that? Yeah, all
-
the disciples had a choice. All the Jesus sipists had
-
a choice. I'm sure there were more. Know that he
-
said follow me, but didn't follow him. You know, the
-
one that didn't follow him that was actually written in
-
the book was the rich young ruler. Imagine that Jesus
-
created more disciples and there were more than a twelve.
-
We know that there were seventy came and Gola, come
-
and go, come and go, but only the twelve state
-
this year our team is discipleshit.
-
Friends. I don't really know.
-
Where you're at in your life in this area, but
-
my encouragement to you is that if you're part of
-
our church, I want to encourage you consider a discipleship relationship. Yes,
-
sometimes there are natural things that will brought us nobody
-
that can connect with me or nobody that I can respect.
-
Friends, cannot ask.
-
You to lower down your expectations a little bit and
-
ask God, God, can you reveal the person that can
-
disciple me? Because the other thing that maybe you're not
-
hearing as we're talking is that it's not just Paster
-
Elvin and his experience and no.
-
It's the Holy Spirit. Friends.
-
We do this life not just with ourselves. No, we
-
do this live being led by the Holy Spirit. The
-
more we are connected with God, the more effective we
-
can in discaparted ministry. And it's something that we believe
-
in the XTS.
-
Amen.
