You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Come, let's turn with me to Luke chapter fourteen, okay.
-
And Luke chapter fourteen, and turn with me to verse
-
twenty five all the way to verse thirty five okay.
-
And the theme or basically the title for our message
-
will be disciple first. And I heard that Pastor Elvin
-
did a really great time, you know, to lead you guys,
-
to introduce you guys to the theme of the church as well,
-
which is disciple first. So I just want to continue
-
on that. And we begin with scripture from verse twenty five, okay,
-
chapter four Louke fourteen, Verse twenty five. And there's a title. Okay,
-
just give you a heads up by it's it's a
-
strong they are strong words here, okay. The title says
-
leaving all to follow Christ. Okay, So today you guys
-
will be packing your backs okay. And in verse twenty
-
five he says, now great multitudes when with him, okay,
-
with Jesus. And Jesus turned and said to them, if
-
anyone comes to me and does not hate his mother,
-
hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers, and sisters, yes,
-
and heavens even his own life. Okay. Also, he cannot
-
be my disciple, ah past the way you have to
-
start so strong. It's not my words, you know, Jesus words,
-
you know. Okay. Some people are some people, okay, will
-
take this and say that, hey, this Christian teaching, it's
-
not compatible with our value system, with our honor system,
-
with the parenting that we know. They will quote this scripture. Ready, Okay,
-
It's good that today you are here so that I
-
can unpack this what it means to you guys. Okay, okay,
-
Now let's move on. Let's read on. Okay, Verse twenty eight,
-
For which of you intending to build a tower does
-
not sit down first and counter costs whether he has
-
enough to finish it less? After he has laid the
-
foundation and is not able to finish, all will all
-
who see begin to mock him, saying, this man began
-
to build and was not able to finish. Or what
-
king going to make a war against another king does
-
not sit down first and consider whether he is able
-
with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him
-
with twenty thousand, or else, while the other is still
-
a great way of he sends a delegation and asks
-
conditions of peace. So likewise, whatever of you does not
-
forsake or that he has cannot be my disciple. But
-
we gotta read on. Okay. Then immediately after that, okay,
-
Jesus teaches about Okay, the tasteless sought is worthless. Okay.
-
In verse before he says, salt is good. But if
-
the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?
-
It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill.
-
But men throw it out. He who has ears to
-
hear let him here. Okay. First of all, I give
-
you a clue, okay, that the entire chapter fourteen. Okay,
-
I only read half of the entire chapter fourteen, if
-
you But if you look at the chapter fourteen, the
-
earlier two stories, Okay, there's one talking about a man
-
with drop sea hill and sabbath, and another one take
-
the lowly places. Right, All these stories are actually connected,
-
and they are one. But I'll start with the later
-
part first. Like Star Wars, you know, you start with
-
four five six, then after day you go to one
-
two three. Okay, I do that first. Okay, I start
-
with four five six. Okay, then after that I will
-
come back. But these are all connected, okay, and I
-
will explain to you how it works, and then you
-
can understanding what does it mean to be you know,
-
what does it mean to be a disciple? First? So
-
let's start with salt. Start with the very back. Okay,
-
start with salt first. It's kind of funny that Jesus
-
talks about discipleship and talk about forsaking your parents and
-
talk about salt. You know, it's not Jesus jumping, you know, no,
-
it's all connected. Okay, But we start with salt first. Okay,
-
Jesus says salt is good. But if the salt has
-
lots its flavor, how shall it be? Season? Hannah? Be
-
actually season salt? One h You season your meat with salt,
-
but you don't season you're salt. Anyone done that before.
-
It's kind of weird, isn't it? Because why because in
-
your mind you know there is no replacement to salt.
-
So it's salt, you get men, There is no replacement,
-
you get mean, right, You don't salt with sours, you
-
don't solve with msg. There is no replacement to it.
-
That's the first important thing you have to understand there
-
is no replacement to salt, very unique. So there is
-
no replacement. Okay, So that's why you're gonna go and season.
-
There is no replacement, And so what does it link
-
to us? What are you trying to tell us that
-
the first thing to be about discipleship is to become salt. Oh,
-
discipleship is about being sought. You must understand that there
-
is no replacement to your identity. If you are a disciple,
-
if you are a disciple of your disciple, and what
-
I'm saying, if you are a disciple, you're a disciple,
-
you're sort You're a salt. If you lose your saltiness,
-
what makes you sought? There is no replacement. Now my
-
question is this, then, what makes you a disciple? And
-
what makes you lose the essence? What makes you a disciple?
-
Actually I've slight? Oh yeah, okay, killing Norwegians salt as salmon? Okay, okay,
-
So what what is If saltiness is the essence of salt,
-
what is the essence of discipleship, what is the essence
-
of divice? Discipleship? It is our devotion. It's our devotion.
-
You have to connect it to the scripture. Before. It
-
is our devotion. Okay, so what does it mean devotion?
-
It's not coincidence that Jesus talks about the cause of it.
-
Isn't it If anyone who wants to follow me, wants
-
to come to me does not hate his mother, father
-
and mother, wife and children, brothers and sister, years and
-
his owner, he cannot be my disciple. The essence is
-
what devotion you are devoted to Christ? Not to say only,
-
but first, you are first devoted to Christ. Let me
-
rephrase it a bit more. Okay, when you hear you
-
hear the theme about disciple first, isn't it in churching it?
-
What does it mean to be a disciple first? Is
-
that you wear a tag that you wear our latest jumper?
-
You know ex church? You know, Hey, you're a disciple.
-
Is it because you come to a leadership meeting that
-
you are a disciple? No, to be a disciple first?
-
What the concept of disciple first means? We are first
-
a disciple before you are a husband, before you are
-
a wife. You are first a disciple before you are
-
a business owner or a professional worker. You are a
-
first a disciple before you are a parent or you
-
are a children. You are first a disciple, before you
-
are anything in social media, a person of influence, anything.
-
You are first a disciple. It is who you are
-
or just what you do. You know why is that important?
-
Because it changes everything? Changes everything. When you are a
-
disciple first, before you're a husband, business owner, a parent,
-
or anything. It changes what you seek. You know what
-
I'm saying. If you are a husband or a wife,
-
maybe you going to a fight. Okay, if you are
-
just like a normal husband wife and you got into
-
the argument, the first thing you will seek is, I
-
don't know, retribution, validation, justification, and self isn't it? Forgiveness
-
is hard at that time. You know we all go
-
through that. I go through that as well. Okay, this
-
are what you seek. But when we are disciple first,
-
what does it changes? It's not my feelings, not my validation,
-
not my agenda. What does God require of that? God
-
says that you need to forgive. You need to just
-
be quiet and listen a lot of times you do
-
that first you can I'm saying now, So sometimes you
-
overcome a situation by realizing who you are first, instead
-
of figuring out what to do right First, who you
-
are first? Some of you you are business, business owners,
-
maybe a professional workers you have someone as a ball
-
or someone you're a colleague in someone else as well.
-
If you think that you are a worker first, you
-
will think of a lot of people offending you. You
-
will fight for your rights first, in the same way
-
I'm saying. You know you will fight for your rights.
-
But if you look at the Bible, you look at Jacob,
-
you look at Joseph, you look at Abraham, you look
-
at Jesus, how many of them, Okay, experience people trying
-
to short change them? Many, isn't it. People try to
-
short change him all the time, isn't it. But if
-
they just follow the natural identity they are put in
-
that situation, they will retaliate, They will respond, They will
-
even change their prayers. You know me, right, God speak
-
to that person. You know God, it's not right, and
-
you pray, you change, You pray even pray for a
-
prayer request. You change for different prayer requests. You know,
-
because you take on the identity, that situation confines you
-
and molds you into you. Got I mean right, You're
-
heart and that's why you say, God, speak to that person,
-
get me to change job. You get what I mean?
-
Your prayer changes when or not because you're carrying on
-
a different identity. But to be a disciples is to
-
realize that I am not what the world molds me
-
to be. First, I'm not that first. I am first
-
a disciple. I'm a first a disciple. So what does
-
a disciple first? Two? He devoted, we walk with Christ.
-
And so when I follow Christ, I will say that
-
God what I seek, Okay, what I want to please
-
more than anything else. I don't want to please my
-
children first, my wife or husband first, not my colleagues first,
-
not my bosses first. Helped me to please you first,
-
so that I won't do the same mistakes like Saul
-
the kings. Auld mean right, he was a king first
-
before he was a disciple. Get I mean right? He
-
was a king first, and that's why he feared the elders.
-
You know. He asked Samuel, follow me. You see, we
-
will all make mistakes. One make may no mistakes. We
-
will all make me a king. King David, considered greater
-
king than Saul, also make many mistakes, you know. But
-
yet he was sped from the same destiny that befell Saul.
-
You know why, because he remembered that he is first
-
a disciple. He was a disciple when he was a shepherd.
-
He is a disciple when he was a king. So
-
he didn't care about pleasing people. So even when he's
-
sin he realizes, Oh Lord, it is only against you
-
and you alone that I have sin against you. You're
-
a men, right, it's you you get. So when you're
-
a disciple, you seek to please God first. You seek
-
not to to to to to to know God's heart first.
-
When you're a disciple, you fear God first before you
-
fear men. You fear God first before you fear losing
-
your belongings, your career, your opportunities. Sometimes you form more
-
out as well. You get mean right when you all
-
are mold about all these things, you change your prayer.
-
Sometimes when you prayers some God, God, I don't know,
-
maybe God looks like it's disappointed and praying things that
-
not even God, they didn't even come up from him.
-
As well, you don't pray like my disciples, to pray
-
like someone who is not carrying another idea. You know
-
who I'm saying not. Sometimes that's why when you when
-
you see parents are you know you're in their house.
-
They're confident and you know their ball, but the moment
-
when they get out and then they maybe meet some friends,
-
or maybe they get scolder, or they're you know, in
-
front and they come back. Your children are turning to
-
someone totally different. You know, where did their esteem go?
-
How come they get so affected? We behave differently you
-
know what I'm talking about or not? And they ask
-
things that doesn't sound like them at all. They never
-
asked in our house before, you know, That's what I'm saying.
-
And not they are requesting and praying things and never
-
they are not who they are. They've been changed and
-
molded by the world. So disciple first is to understand
-
that first who we are, what is our priority, the
-
most important had that we carry more than anything else.
-
As a father, I carry many hats with my children
-
as well. Sometimes I carry the road as a teacher. Sometimes,
-
you know, when they play basketball, my childre said coach
-
asks say you asked for it? You know, tough life
-
for head. It's like, oh, but when they fall down,
-
I'm not just a coach. Okay, when there's someone who
-
wants to threaten that my first and most important role
-
is well is to be a father. You can't say no,
-
there are things that you don't lose. You know that
-
you must put first first. Okay, so let me recap. Okay,
-
So when we are the disciple, for us, it changes
-
to what we seek, whom we please, whom we fear,
-
and whom we draw from. Okay for okay, whom we seek,
-
whom we please, whom we fear, and whom we draw
-
from our strength. Yeah, if I'm a disciple, I won't
-
draw from anyone else. If my daughter knows that I'm
-
my father's daughter, why would she drove from anyone else?
-
It's your identity will determine who you draw from. Understand
-
what I'm saying. Ah, even in a different place, you
-
bring your mobile phone, you go to Japan and you
-
realize the charging point is different. You even bring an
-
adapted as well. Because you know who you are. You
-
don't change, then you don't adapt as well. But I
-
am who I am. You can't mean there's an adapto
-
that you realize that who you are and you draw
-
from It makes sense. Second thing, Okay, talk about salt okay,
-
and Jesus talks about counting the costs. Okay, So we
-
said that a disciple is differentiated. Okay, Sorry, The saltiness
-
of a disciple is the devotion, saying that people know
-
that you're a disciple when you're devoted. But to be
-
devoted also means there is a cost. You know what
-
I'm saying. Jesus didn't just tell them a you leave
-
your parents and stuff like that. He realized he couldn't
-
explain there is a cost to it as well. You
-
don't build a tower without counting the cost. You don't
-
go to war without counting the cause. Devotion will cost you.
-
You know, I'm saying, not devote what is first will
-
cost you. And we need to count the cost. Okay,
-
we need to count the cost. We all of us
-
count what is most important to us, all of us. Okay,
-
if money is important to you, you will check your
-
bank balance every day. It's true, it's some of you.
-
Look at me, maybe maybe you you you reach It's like, wow,
-
you never earn a certain amount. Well, I tell you
-
some people are every day cannotop looking at the thing.
-
You know there will screenshot and put it at the
-
wall paper. You know, it's like I can't believe you
-
know why, because it's reality to you. You know, this
-
reality is so close to you. Oh, and that number
-
are paying so much dreams and in the things that
-
it permits into your mind or and sometimes can change
-
who you are one and on. But we count on
-
is most important to us. We count our money, we
-
count our time, we count our spaces. That is why
-
when things come in wait into your life. Hey, you know,
-
if your spouse ausk comes and asks you, hey, you've
-
got time, I feel like, you know, going doing something
-
like that. If a husband you know, appreciates more than
-
time is space and no time time on its owner,
-
it feels like the most difficult mountain to climb, you know.
-
You know, I said what I'm saying, no, and then
-
my wife understands it, and I said, the moment I
-
sit down in the house, it's very hard to move me.
-
You want to know, you know, that's what I'm saying.
-
When I sit down, I was like, oh, it's going
-
to take a mountain to move me. Ready, Because I
-
value the moment I say down. It's like I go
-
into my own square, little box ready. And I was like, oh,
-
thinks a lot. That's what I value. But sometimes things
-
value People value different things. Okay. That is why when
-
when people ask you certain things, you know you start
-
to count, you see it work just to get up
-
to walk there. Oh, it becomes so difficult, so expensive,
-
and sometimes you won't commit. You will count, and then
-
you're like, oh, why did I allow allow this short
-
sightedness to blind me or to short change me for
-
what is more important as well? Okay, But the next
-
question I will ask is are there believers who follow
-
but don't count their costs? Are their believers who follow
-
and then don't count their cause? God? Not yes or no?
-
Are there believers who follow but don't count their course?
-
Who says yes? Who says no?
-
Oh?
-
I don't know. The thing is we know in the Bible,
-
Jesus in the scripture says that if you read later on, okay,
-
there are there are many followers who claim to follow
-
God but don't count their cause. Okay, there are many.
-
They are sought by name, maybe they call themselves salt
-
bay whatever it is, okay, But in substance they are
-
not assault at all. And how God differentiates them, whether
-
they are true salt or worthless soult or strong words
-
are okay, is when God requires them to respond, they
-
don't respond. How do you know salt is not salt?
-
When you taste and it's not salty, isn't it the
-
response it gets it's such a saltiness, or when you
-
cure me, it doesn't cure it all. You put it there,
-
then the next day it stinks. One of the first
-
things you know that when you put salt is that
-
it draws water, the meat response anything people think you
-
touches it. Response, it draws before it gets back it
-
flavors and then everything does as well. So there are
-
Christians who follow, but they don't respond. There is no
-
reaction in them or outside of them. They can not
-
course any reaction at all. Okay, Now, so we talk
-
about identity, we talk about counting the cause. But I
-
have a question here. Jesus says in verse they four
-
salt is good, but if the salt has lost its flavor,
-
how shall it be seen? Okay, how does salt lose
-
the saltiness? Kind of funny, I just asked the question,
-
isn't it there's no replacement? But Jesus says, if salt
-
is not not salty, it's not worthy. So it means
-
they might there are salt they cannot have any taste
-
at all in a way, but how do they actually
-
lose their saltiness. I'm not giving you oxymorona, but Hd,
-
it's true. How does salt lose the saltiness? Yeah, Steph Curry,
-
O hey, how does salt loses Not anyone got signs?
-
How does salt lose his saltiness? I'm not going to
-
that salt loses its saltiness by impurities. Even in all
-
the times, right, there are salts that are worthless because
-
they get mixed up with too many imperial elements, you
-
know what I'm saying now, dirt with different chalks, gypsum,
-
sand and everything as well. So you don't you don't it.
-
Don't just take sea water and then you just boil
-
it and then white stuff all it's all salt, nor
-
you could be sixty seventy percent now it's all chalk,
-
gypsum and different things as well. They go through different
-
what they call it a treatment as well, you know
-
I'm saying now. So sometimes when you can, you can
-
people can sell your salt and you can realize that
-
it's not as salty as before because it's mixed with
-
a lot of different things. But you go to But
-
for us, we cannot get the idea because all your
-
salt your buy one. You never make your own salt. One.
-
If you want to believe it, then you can make
-
your own salt. Okay, turn to your neighbor. Let's go
-
and mix salt. Then you realize that, heyst not salty one.
-
You really start to appreciate the salt that you buy.
-
It doesn't appear just like that one. You know that
-
as salt doesn't just become pure, that it actually goes
-
through many purification refinement. What you get is pure salt. Okay,
-
what you get at Hope is pure salt. It's not
-
just salt. Is pure salt. Turn to your neighbor. Do
-
you want to be pure salt? Makes sense right now
-
or not? You start to see the connection here when
-
Jesus talks about disciple shape and he talks about saltiness,
-
how salt loses effectedness. You see at one point I said,
-
so there is no replacement for salt, but yet at
-
the same time it can lose its saltiness how by
-
being mixed with impure things. So a Christian is called
-
to be salty, and the assaultiness is to be devoted,
-
and they are devoted their disciples, but yet they can
-
lose their devotion, the assaultiness when they get mixed with
-
a lot of impurities makes sense. Now, then now we
-
go back one chapter again, you know, one chapter one
-
parable again, Let's read from verse fifteen, the parable of
-
the Great Supper. Okay, what does it mean to be
-
a disciple? First, so that we don't lose our saltiness,
-
so that we cannot lose our effectiveness. Now in verse fifteen,
-
he must understand. Give you a context. First, that Jesus
-
went to someone's house. Okay, maybe one of the pharisees house. Okay,
-
he went to eat bread. Okay, because of time, I
-
can't cover everything. But Jesus had encounter first he went
-
there with his disciples. But there's a group of elite
-
teachers and you know, followers of God who invited him.
-
And he noticed us a lot of pattern. They claim
-
to be followers of God, leaders and teachers for God.
-
But some of them started to take the dun tree,
-
and that sits in. They care about where they are
-
seated more than anything else. And Jesus tell them, don't
-
follow them, take the lowly places. So that you know,
-
those who extort himself will be humbled, and those who
-
humble themselves will be exalted. Don't be like them, okay,
-
And he tells us, don't when you invite. When you
-
invite people, don't invite the rich. Invite those who can't invite.
-
You gave me right now. Invite those who can't repay you.
-
You can something. When you invite those who can repay you,
-
You're asking for a reward. You have an agenda. You
-
know you mean, right? Okay? And so then it comes
-
here to verse fifteen, because suddenly someone there in verse fifteen,
-
he says, when one of those who sat at the
-
table with him heard these things that Jesus was actually
-
teaching them the Kingdom of God. This guy was like, oh, okay,
-
what did he say? Blessed is he who shall eat
-
bread in the Kingdom of God? What does he mean
-
by that? It's kind of funny, isn't it. He say,
-
Blessed is he who shall eat bread? Means who shall
-
partact with God in communion in the kingdom of heaven.
-
But who is he including? And who is he excluding?
-
Who is he including? Who is he talking about? It
-
sounds like I'm speculating here, and that he was replying
-
and trying to respond to Jesus' teaching of them said,
-
blessed is he who eats at the kingdom. God he
-
already specified who gets qualified and who are blessed. But
-
who are the blessed? You must at that time I
-
understand that the blessed are those those who are whole,
-
those who are not sick, those who are not main
-
They believe that if you are mad, you are sick.
-
You are born and all with I don't know, different
-
diseases that your parents seen, and therefore you are a sinner.
-
We are whole because we follow God, and we follow God,
-
we shall eat the bread in the house of the Lord.
-
You don't say what I'm saying. No, there was your
-
current thinking. So Jesus to this moment, and he gave
-
a parable And in verse sixteen he says, a certain
-
man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent
-
his servants at supper time to say to those who
-
were invited, it come, for all things are now ready.
-
Listen carefully, and underlying reason these are. He invited those
-
who are whole, first, not sick, not laying, not hungry,
-
not poor. He invited all of them, and in verse
-
eighteen he said, but they all with one court. One
-
a cord okay, began to make excuses. Okay, one a
-
chord began to make excuses. People who are whole? Okay,
-
and what the what? What? The first one said to him,
-
I have bought a piece of ground or land. I
-
must go and see it. Okay, I asked you to
-
have me excuse. Oh, so polite, you know, but they
-
already planned ready. And another said, I have bought five
-
years of oxen. I'm going to test them instead of
-
say oxen. Now, okay, maybe you can say you buy
-
five I know, I don't know five Mercedes five bmw Okay,
-
I asked of you that you have me excuse. Then
-
still another said to him, I have married a wife,
-
and therefore I cannot come. Oh. So the servant came
-
and reported these things to his master. Then the master
-
of the house, being angry, said to his servant, go
-
out quickly into the street and lanes of the city
-
and bring in the poor, the name, and the lame,
-
and the blind. You know who these group people are
-
right in the ise of society. The people that they
-
initially dem will not eat bread in the Kingdom of God.
-
And the servant said, Master, it is done as you commanded,
-
and still there is room. Then the master said to
-
the servant, go out into the highways and the hedges
-
and compel them to come in. That my house maybe failed,
-
for I say to you that none of those men
-
who were invited shall taste my supper. It's a very
-
sobering tale. Very scary, isn't it. They can already start
-
to begin to tie together. Really we're talking about you
-
start to see it, redia. Okay, let's let's bring this
-
all together. Okay, So in the Great Supper, everyone is
-
invited by this priority, the whole. The people there were whole.
-
But the people became pre occupied. They were salt men
-
to be salty, men, to preserve, men to be distinct,
-
men to be able to respond. Okay, but yeah, they
-
become a occupied some border land. Some brought things to
-
generate money. Some mary a wife. All these are they
-
bad things? Not bad things? God gave us land. God
-
gave Abraham many land, so many Lena, look at Oh,
-
wherever you threat your food, all this should be yours
-
and for your for your inheritance. Okay, plan oxen, he
-
apron most richer's own many oxens wife, Hey, God, created
-
even okay, it's not Adam okay created one. But yet
-
in all these things, what happened to them they may excuses.
-
So the problem is not the things are good or
-
bad and not. The problem is at salt. When they
-
get mixed with all these things, they forget who they are,
-
and their hearts get stolen. They lose that one thing
-
that makes them salty. Why is that their devotion? The
-
devotion they're more devoted to your land, the things that
-
you buy, you're more devoted to the land. The oxen
-
are white oxen. They see the land and the oxen
-
and the wife is very powerful. And not just because hey,
-
you know, some people say, hey, the white better. Some
-
people say the action better than get into trouble. Okay,
-
because all of these they give you a preview of
-
the future of abundant living land and wow, oxen they
-
can generate Why, happiness and family, all these things generate
-
a future. But yet they know all these things that
-
come to a manda are good. But it also when
-
your hearts are not, are not, are not careful, and
-
you forget the calling of Christ to us as disciples. Okay,
-
the calling of the master of the banquet, master to them, Hey,
-
I know your God, but I am the great Master.
-
You know, my banquet is not like any other banquet.
-
You know, serious people, we think just another banquet. Sometimes
-
we come to church, you think it's just another church.
-
There is there is different one. You know, coming into
-
the House of God is different one. And all you esteem.
-
The way you esteem God is changes your reality one.
-
And know you got mean right. The way you esteem
-
God changes every single thing. And when your hearts get stolen,
-
what happens, your devotion gets sipped away. And immediately it
-
becomes evident the way they respond to the Master. They
-
start to make excuses. These things are important. Need they
-
need my time, they need my resources, they need my attention,
-
they need my devotion. You see what I mean right,
-
Suddenly coming to the banquet becomes very expensive. So what
-
is the biggest challenge of discipleship? Cost? You will find
-
that disciples people are hard to follow, not because of
-
a disciple, not a person. And it is cost. It
-
will require me of things that I find it hard
-
to give. That's the biggest challenge of discipleship. It means
-
that suddenly I have to be accountable, Suddenly I need
-
to be transparent, Suddenly I realize that if I sometimes
-
I do do things that it's against even what I
-
really really really like as well, But that person spoke
-
truth into my life. I need to listen. There's a
-
cost to it. But the challenge of discipleship is always
-
the cause, the excuses, and then eventually it becomes so
-
much there when God himself speaks, that will find it
-
hard to respond. You see, the first disciples were not
-
the twelve Disciples and all. It was the entire nation
-
of Israel, and they were the first group of people.
-
They were given the audidences of God, the rules of God, teachings,
-
but yet they lost the assaultiness. You know what I'm saying,
-
the way they see people. Even when Jesus came down
-
in the flesh, what do they see? They lost everything,
-
all the assaultingness and all dead. You say you are holy,
-
but yet Jesus came in the flesh, did the miracles,
-
all the teachings, healed a person in the seventh Yet
-
you want to condemn him, and you talk about entering
-
the Kingdom of you talk about yourself? What is that
-
about the poor? Are you really assault are you really
-
someone devoted for God? You? Do you really follow God on.
-
So they is the party. You know, the people who
-
make excuses were the teachers, do you know what I'm saying? No,
-
they were the teachers, the leaders, they were them. But
-
those of them and all the rest who said, you're
-
not in the low places, they were the name, They
-
were the lame, they were the blind. All these people,
-
she said, they are more salty than you are because
-
they respond when I call them. I'm saying, you know,
-
so you and I are the same as well. We
-
are disciples, not because we are rich, we are better,
-
we are smarter, or anything. We are with disciples when
-
we begin to respond and open our hearts and never
-
lose our saltiness. You simon saying, it's so important. That's
-
why what the disciples first? Disciples first? What's so quiet here?
-
Okay it makes sense or not doesn't make a lot
-
of sense. Let's recap here. Okay, let us not be
-
like them. When we lose our saltediness, we become like
-
one accord, always looking for excuses and looking others, looking
-
for others that make excuses as well. So, yeah, the
-
people who make excuses and drow one another and want
-
to know you really see people who have a lot
-
of excuses that try to hang out with people out.
-
They're very devoted one to know, very rarely want to
-
either affect one another, want to know. Most of the
-
time they're rather band together with people. They are not
-
worth attending. Lie, yeah, not worth doing lie, just give
-
half hearted, lie, just be late live.
-
I know.
-
We get me in right with flesh draws flash one
-
get me in right. Flesh drawsprights are and they can
-
be so powered. They come united, you know, because they
-
feel like they're saying the same song. They feel. What
-
it brings them together is righteousness justification. Okay, so there's
-
one thing we must not there's a recap here. It
-
is good to have families. It is good to have children,
-
but they also will pass. Family is good, they will pass,
-
there will move on. It's good to have land. It's
-
good to have possession. But you have businesses, but they
-
also will pass. On your day of your funeral, what
-
does your business live for? You be saying yes, he
-
can provide, yeah, but what does it does it? Where
-
does it take you into eternity? Where does it take
-
you internity? Who are you first? Are you a CE
-
or are you a majority shareholder? Are you this and
-
that before anything else. Who are you first? But we
-
must never forget as disciple to put first things first.
-
Good is not God. Good is not first. God is first.
-
Our devotion Him to Him is first. They I wrote
-
here salt is salt. There is no replace to salt.
-
Some people will tell you there are many variations of salt.
-
They are chicken salt, you know, the Australia got chicken salt.
-
You know, they're very proud about it. Okay, they are
-
garlic salt, barbecued salt, and there are colored salt. But
-
you know, as you study before that, the difference is
-
that they have different impurities. You see what I'm saying now.
-
All the at the end of the day, salt is
-
powerful because it preserves, it gives flavor. You get what
-
I'm saying. No, it enhances whatever it is we want
-
what is pure. When you find when you a recaper,
-
when you have too much impurity, you will begin to
-
make excuses. You begin to lose devotion, you begin to
-
lose your heart, You begin to hear but not respond.
-
That's the last part that we don't want to be
-
you get mean, right, We don't want to be claiming
-
to be disciples, but when God calls, we don't respond.
-
That's the saddest part. It's so important for us to
-
guard our hearts. Are there We say that, yes, we
-
need to be discipled, but can we are we discible?
-
Can respond? Be disciples to us? Okay, but remove the
-
impurities of our hearts.
