You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
I want to remember Calvary. Now another word for Calvary,
-
uh and and this you can read the word Calvary.
-
Actually it actually appears in the book of John. Yeah,
-
where Jesus carried the cross to Calvary. Now, another word
-
that you would have come across in other gospels would
-
be goll Gotha, g Gotha. This is the hill, the
-
hill of Calvary. The hill of Golgotha, which is the
-
place of the skull. Looks like a skull. So if
-
you actually go to Jerusalem, now you and you look
-
up the hills, because Jesus couldn't die in Jerusalem, he
-
had to die outside of Jerusalem. And if you look
-
up the hills, you will see this mountain sculptures of
-
it really looks like a skull. It does. And so
-
they think, after so many days, I think that's that's
-
goldta they say, so, I don't know, so many years already.
-
So we just want to I just want to encourage
-
us to remember Calvary. And the question I'm asking is
-
what was it like to have been there on Good Friday,
-
more than two thousand years ago? What would it have
-
been like if we were there? What would we have felt?
-
What would we have been like part of the crowd
-
where we have agreed with the rest, where we have
-
stood aside? Would we be at the cross, at the
-
feet of the cross, where we have run away, where
-
we have denied Christ? What would we have done? And
-
how would we have felt? More than two thousand years
-
ago good Friday? It wasn't called good Friday then it
-
was a bad day because they thought, man, this man
-
who said he would save us, is now going to
-
be hung on the cross, the most humiliating way to die.
-
This is the worst way to die by Roman standards.
-
The means you are the worst criminal. Only the worst
-
criminal will be hung on the cross. And that's what
-
they did to my lord and your lord. He was
-
made the worst criminal to be hung on the cross.
-
So what would have been like? How? How? And so
-
as you go through your one week of prayer, praying, fasting,
-
reading the word, maybe read that the portion. As you
-
are reading the book of John, you should be coming
-
towards the road to Calvary, and you think about how,
-
how does it you know what does it mean for you.
-
I've picked up a few people in the Bible, not
-
so much at the garden of Gadsemani, But I looked
-
from a different point of view from the cross when
-
Jesus went to the cross, and there are these few
-
people that we want to look at. Perhaps you want
-
to place yourself in that person's shoe, or maybe your
-
name could be in another bubble albin, all right, But
-
at the cross and towards the cross, what were the
-
things that happen? All right? So I journey with you
-
as we look at these few people, and let's look
-
at the names that we see. Now the first ones
-
was at least it would have to be. If we
-
go through the ooh baby, all right, As we go
-
through the scripture, you will see the sequence. So after
-
they had judged Jesus, the judgment was given, and they
-
were going to flog him, and so they they scourged him.
-
If you ever watched the movie with a movie called
-
The Passion of the Christ, I think what's his name?
-
Mel Gibson tried to depict as horrifying as it could be.
-
I think any one of us who watched that account
-
would have teared. I cried because that kind of torture
-
none of us could go through. I think I would
-
just died. And so here he is Jesus being judged,
-
and then these are the people that he encounters, Simon
-
of Sireni. Now who is this Simon of Sireni. We
-
don't know him. And Sireni is actually today more day
-
a city or rather a place in Libya, so you
-
know where Libya is North Africa. But Simon was probably
-
a Jew of Ju descendant. I don't know if he
-
was dark or was he a Jew that you know,
-
in the dispersion they moved out and went to different countries,
-
but he probably came because the passover was happening. And
-
so here he was Simon of Sireni walking my name
-
is own business with his two sons, Alexander and Rufus.
-
You never hear of them again, we don't know who
-
they are. They never mentioned. And they're walking and Jesus
-
is carrying his cross after being flogged. And you know, right,
-
even if you cut a small worn and you touch it, its pain, right.
-
His whole body was wounded, his whole face was mad,
-
everything was broken in his body, and he was carrying
-
his cross and at that moment he fell and then
-
the so just just caught hold of Simon and said
-
you carry the cross. Now you could have said why
-
should I carry across? Mind? Nobody dead, because they were
-
afraid of Roman soldiers. So Simon and Sireni picked up
-
the cross and followed as Jesus walke because Jesus couldn't
-
already it was so bad. What was going through his mind?
-
He's probably like, why am I? I'm just minding my
-
own business. Why are you asking me to carry the cross?
-
And he had to help carry the cross. What do
-
you think went through his mind? I don't know. You
-
reflect and you think about it. He had to carry
-
the cross for Jesus, his sons. Why would they even
-
mention and the only person who mentioned and names I
-
think was Mark in the Book of Mark that mentions
-
Alexander Rufus. All the other gospels just say Simon. Right.
-
So maybe some people commentaries say because the Bible is
-
by witnesses, there are these two witnesses that witnessed their
-
father helping Jesus or force to help Jesus, compel to
-
help Jesus carry the cross until they reached wherever or
-
halfway and then Jesus had to take back the cross
-
and carry it up the heel of Calvary. So there's Simon,
-
what was he thinking? What would he have thought? It's
-
good to reflect a little bit, because good Friday will
-
come and go, Easter will come and go. We'll carry
-
on with our lives. But every twenty one days, every
-
time there is what we call the Catholic Church Lent
-
or Anglican Church Lent, they do a forty day fast.
-
We do to anyone because we know that it's hard
-
to do forty days sometimes, and we have another forty
-
day fast in August, so we split it up. Lent
-
is just a rememory again, good to remember. Actually, some
-
traditions are good. As I grow older, I realized some
-
traditions are good. It helps remind us. So Lent is
-
what happens earlier. We are now in April, so it
-
probably started in March and they come through, but not
-
so that we make anything an idol. It's just a memory,
-
a reflection, So Simon of sirenim. Then there's Alexander Rufus
-
his sons, and then comes the soldiers who get hold
-
of Jesus. They put a crown of thorns, his body
-
already broken gun. They removed his clothes, They put on
-
a robe, a purple robe. They slap him, they spit
-
at him, They bow in mockery and say, you are
-
the king of the Jews. You know you can't even
-
save yourself. You talked about saving They mocked him, and
-
then they put back his clothes after they removed his cloak.
-
So there were just things going on. What was in
-
their minds. There's such evil, such cruelty to just, you know,
-
slap somebody and already a normal facer. Remember Isaiah fifty
-
three says he was marred beyond recognition. You really, mel
-
Gibson did a very good job. It could not see
-
all the way the flagellum that they just wreck you.
-
It was this way. So the little the little nails
-
or whatever bones will just pull off the skin. All
-
of his skin was already pulled out. And then they
-
put this cloak on him, ouch and then they pull
-
it off and make him carry the cross or whatever.
-
You know, they wake him. So there's a lot of pain,
-
there's a lot of blood. But Jesus takes it like
-
a lamb, you know, like the sheep going without the
-
sound so the soldiers are there, what were they thinking?
-
Then there's there's this this you know, Mary, the mother
-
of Jesus. Yeah, she was there at the cross at
-
the time when when he was being hung. And mind
-
your artists only put the impression of a little little
-
clock cloth to cover the privates, but in actual fact
-
he was hung naked. What shame? What humiliation? And a
-
mom to look at her son in that condition. And
-
and then just before he wasn't thinking of himself. He
-
still has time the breath, every breath he takes. He says, John,
-
this is your mother. Tell was Mary, this is your son,
-
meaning please you need to take care of my mom.
-
His earthly mother still have time to care for people
-
while hanging and you know, losing breath already. What was
-
her thoughts my son or such? Am? I don't know
-
what as a mother, what would you feel? What would
-
John have felt? The youngest of all the disciples, John
-
who wrote Revelation, who wrote the Book of John. And
-
he calls himself the beloved of the Lord. All right,
-
he was leaning on the breast of Jesus at the
-
at the Last Supper, and he says, the one that
-
the Lord loved the most and and and how would
-
he have felt he was there? That means as they
-
hung him, as he hung there at the cross, they
-
were there, nearer could see him because he could speak
-
to them. Wow, what was John going through? He he
-
actually witnessed it. This was the closest at the cross.
-
This is at the cross. And then the two criminals,
-
one on his left, one on his right. You see
-
the three crosses all the time. The one, you know,
-
whichever one of them, mocked him and said are you again,
-
saying you talked about you know, raising this, raising that.
-
Now save yourself. But then there was another criminal who said, hey,
-
you don't simply talk la. If he was Malaitian, don't
-
simply talk la. So now remember the other two were
-
just nailed. Jesus was whipped and scourched, two different kinds
-
of that. They were not whipped. And I don't think
-
they were as bad as Jesus, like okay, I don't know.
-
They just nailed them. And he say, hey, don't simply talklar.
-
You know, we all did something, we're supposed to die.
-
This man has done nothing. So this criminal may have
-
heard of Jesus, seen his works, and and he's saying
-
he's done no wrong. But yet he's hanging here at
-
the cross, and he says to Jesus, Jesus, remember me
-
when you enter your kingdom. And what does Jesus say?
-
You will be there with me in paradise today. So
-
there's a lot of us for us to make away.
-
So did he go to heaven now? When?
-
So?
-
So this is not I'm not talking about that today
-
another day. So there was the criminals. So we know
-
what one criminal thought of. He thought of saying, wow,
-
this this is a righteous man. And if you preach
-
what you preached, and remember me, lord, remember me, lord,
-
when you go into your kingdom. Wow, you know what
-
he thought. The other one was like, forget you men, liar,
-
you know, and he is a criminal. He's hanging there.
-
Remember that that person hanging for us who was supposed
-
to be Barrabbas, but he took not Barabbas place. He
-
took all of us our place. What were the criminals thinking?
-
And the last one I chose was the Roman centurion
-
who stood by the cross, because you always had to
-
have a centurion the captain to Jagga. And from twelve
-
to three o'clock it was just dark, right, the sun
-
was no more. It was just dark. And as Jesus
-
breathed his last he breathed his lass and say it
-
is finished. I think nobody was going to clap and cheer,
-
but the rocks cried out. There was an earthquake. The
-
wind was blowing the trees or clapping their hands because
-
Jesus took the final blow for us, and the rocks
-
cried out. The Roman centurion who stood there, said, man,
-
this is surely the son of God. Another version said, wow,
-
this is surely a righteous man. What was he thinking?
-
Did he embrace the faith and to believe in Jesus?
-
I don't know if he could say that, it could
-
mean he believed. And last of all, I chose Joseph
-
of Arimathea. Joseph was part of the council, member with
-
the Pharisees. Okay, but he was also one who was
-
seeking for the coming of the Lord. And he recognized
-
that this has to be the Messiah. And he boldly
-
and no, well not quite boldly. Actually it reads in
-
the scripture if you read through Luke or Matthew. He
-
went courageously, took courage and asked pilot, could I take
-
the body of Jesus, and you know, Pilot was like, oh,
-
is he dead? Usually they have to break the legs
-
to kill them, like to get them dead. But they
-
couldn't touch him because he already laid his life down.
-
The devil didn't take him down. It wasn't the Roman
-
soldiers who took him down. He said, it is finished,
-
and so it was done. And Joseph took his body.
-
What was he thinking as he carried this body, bloody broken? Ah?
-
He carried that body to a new tomb, a cave,
-
wrapped him up, put the spices, and Mummy fighted him
-
and laid him in the tomb. Some other people came. Nicodemus,
-
remember Nicodemus in John chapter three. He came quietly at
-
night to seek Jesus, to find out what what who
-
are you and what are you preaching? And Nicodemus, Nicodemus,
-
was there, all of these men, women, one woman and
-
other women. There was Mary Magdalene. There was Mary, the
-
sister of the Mother, Mary the mother of Jesus. They
-
were there afar off the wait looking. They were also
-
there wondering what's going on. He said he would raise
-
this temple. He said he was the king of king
-
what happened? Everybody was thrown into confusion. But at the cross,
-
different ones experience a different you know, they had a
-
different experience of Christ. What would you have experienced? What
-
would I what would I have experienced if I were
-
there at the feet of Jesus, at the feet of
-
the cross, as we stand and we look, and people
-
were like beating their breast and when you know, when
-
he finally gave up the gold, when his own spirit
-
he gave it up, people beat their breaths and wow,
-
gnashing their teeth, and then they walked away. Clouds darkened, earthquaked,
-
the veil in the temple, taught drama mama. But what
-
would you have felt? Now? I bring you through so
-
that as you come through this week we would appreciate
-
so much. I hope what our Christ, our Messiah has
-
done for us, our Master, our Lord, who are just
-
a good remembrance and to continue to celebrate his resurrection,
-
his death and his resurrection. So I bring you through
-
some thoughts here our Jesus was scirched and whipped next
-
light in Matthew twenty seven and verse twenty six. Just
-
to bring you through Matthew twenty seven and verse twenty six.
-
So when they exchange Pilot exchanged Barabbas to that he
-
will be released. So he gets to go scot free.
-
He was the scoundrel, he was the nonsense person. He
-
was the criminal. Jesus took his place too. And I
-
think I spoke this before, I'm not sure. In pj
-
Abbas he was the son of the father Abba. God
-
took his place, and they scourged ges, and they delivered
-
him to be crucified. Wow, scourged him. And then there
-
he goes to be crucified. All right, one already the
-
whole body broken. Number two. Another thing he here, yeah,
-
is humiliation and shame. The next slight is humiliation and shame.
-
In Matthew twenty seven, verse twenty eight to thirty one,
-
he says here in verse twenty seven, and the soldiers
-
of the governor took Jesus into the praetorium and the square,
-
and gathered to the whole garrison around him. They stripped him,
-
and they put a scarlet robe on him. And when
-
they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it
-
on his head, and a reed in his right hand.
-
They bowed the knee before him they, you know, said
-
all these things, Hail King Jesus. They mocked him, they
-
spat on him, and they took the reed. They struck
-
him on the head. I don't know, you will get
-
a headache or your skull would have cracked. I'm not sure.
-
Then they mocked him, and they took the rope off,
-
put the rope on, took the rope off, put his
-
own clothes on, led him away to be crucified. The
-
humiliation and the shame because he was stripped with his
-
own clothes. They whipped him and scourged him. And then
-
they take off and his clothes is ther humiliating, right,
-
And then and then they put on this robe. Then
-
they take off the rope. The pain, the I don't
-
know a little cut ready. I'm crying right. But here
-
our Lord just took it for us. If you ever
-
felt broken, if you ever felt shame, if you ever
-
felt humiliated, know that your Christ has taken it for you.
-
You don't have to pay whatever. Jesuz was humiliated for us.
-
And remember in Hebrews chapter twelve, verse one to two,
-
I says, looking unto Jesus, the authored finisher of our faith. Yeah,
-
the cross was before him. He said he was the joy.
-
He endured the cross because of the joy that was
-
awaiting him. He did not despise the shame, meaning, okayila shame, shameler,
-
I'm not despising it. I will take the shame. Sometimes
-
we despise the shame. But he did not despise the shame.
-
He took the shame for us. No other gods have
-
done this, None other have died nor be resurrected. So Jesus,
-
either this story is a lie or it's the truth.
-
So if you choose to believe that Jesus is the truth,
-
then follow him, then worship him. Because it did happen.
-
It is recorded. The humiliation and the shame was taken
-
for all of us, for all who would ever come
-
through on blended earth, will ever be born. He took
-
it for each and every one of us. Amen. Wow,
-
he was scourged, he was he bled for us. That
-
blood that was shed would heal us. Amen. So, if
-
you ever felt humiliation, if you ever felt any kind
-
of shame and you have to face people, hide behind
-
the cross, Hide behind the cross. Don't ever feel that
-
you have to be offended or anything like that. If
-
we can follow through the footsteps of Jesus. It's okay
-
because he was humiliated. He was offended for us, So
-
don't come to us and say I'm offended. Jesus was
-
first to be offended, and he could have called his
-
legion of angels, but he didn't. He took it. He
-
knew he had to take it. Remember he prayed at gatsemone, Lord,
-
if this cup could go remove, please remove it, because
-
he knew what he was going to face. But he said, Lord,
-
not my will, but your will be done, an obedient
-
son to the father. And then as he took his
-
cross and walked, they call it the Via dolorosa. There's
-
a song down the Via dolarosa. And you know how
-
Jesus would go down the Via delarosa, the road of sorrow.
-
If you go today to Jerusalem, there are people who
-
will do I think it's twelve stations, but they say
-
it's fourteen stations where they will carry their cross physically
-
trying to take the pain. But remember, Jesus done it all.
-
We never have to take it again. But to recall
-
and to reflect how he had to walk through the
-
old road in Jerusalem with everyone hearing at him. He's
-
the one who healed them. He said he would raise
-
up the templar, save yourself. People were just was bustling,
-
you know, those who said he healed them. Also, they
-
condemned him. Everyone who you know, somewhat afraid of the Pharisees.
-
They didn't know. Maybe I just condemned himlo just a
-
few days before, Oh Sana, Hosanna, blessed be the name
-
of the Lord, hallelujah. And then next three days later,
-
you good for nothing, you the loser. You said this,
-
you said that, and they didn't. Nobody took Jesus side,
-
not even his disciples. They were so scared because they came.
-
The word was they came and took Jesus. The way
-
they pulled Jesus, that was such fear. They all fled.
-
They didn't want to be caught, including some nobody guy
-
walking down the road with a little piece of loincloth.
-
Why don't ask why why was he without a shirt?
-
Why did he have a little salam And then he
-
walked there and then they were just catching everyone, right,
-
and they snatched him, and he like ah, he ran,
-
dropped his white cloth and he ran naked into the forest.
-
So the commentary says, don't ask why they can't explain,
-
but perhaps to explain the terror, the fright that the
-
disciples had the same word, the same word of snatching Jesus,
-
the same word is the same thing, to explain to
-
us how terrifying it was to be caught by the Romans,
-
that this guy just fled. I don't care, rather not.
-
I'm not gonna die for Jesus. I'm gonna run take
-
my clothes, man. And so you know, this whole thing
-
that Jesus has been through is so much to bear.
-
But he bare boy for us. Amen. Then he is crucified,
-
and he's hung right, hung by crucifixion. John chapter nineteen
-
and verse eighteen. Go to John chapter nineteen and verse eighteen.
-
You will see here as we walk through, and then
-
the words actually say, as as he bearing his cross,
-
they crucified him. They crucified him a nail on both
-
hands and one nail on both feet. So it's three nails.
-
It took three nails for our salvation, friends, three nails
-
equals our salvation. Three nails equals the love of God
-
for a broken world. Three nails they crucified him, and
-
together two others, one on each side, so he was
-
crucified and he had to hang right your body weight,
-
you're hanging. Any doctors in the house, can you explain
-
how did he breathe? He's already probably got fever already, right,
-
if we cut ours many times, how we get fever?
-
And no? Right, not only that, I probably had a
-
migraine because they hit his head with a red how
-
many times they hit we don't know. They slapped him
-
face already broken, normal skit, they still slapped him. They
-
spat at it. He's not breathing well, fever. Body is
-
in pain. Mine is going everywhere. But he's keeping his
-
eyes focused on the Father and the call. I've been
-
sent for this purpose. I've been sent for this purpose.
-
I've been sent for this purpose, and I will bear
-
this for the joy that is before me. So he
-
takes it. He hangs, and then got time to say
-
this on my mother and this on your mother all
-
the one. Then after you know, you know, he says, Father,
-
forgive them, for they know not what they do. And
-
he's not talking like me. I'm not hanging on the cross.
-
Every breath he had to take because you can't breathe,
-
you're hanging your lungs are hanging everything. I'm not a doctor.
-
I have no idea how this works. It must have
-
been excruciating. He was crucified, he was hung. Then he
-
bore our sin, and he was separated from the Father.
-
The only time that Jesus was ever separated from Father
-
God was at the cross, when Jesus took all of
-
that beatings, the pain, and hung on that cross. At
-
that moment, the Father, our heaveny Father turned. He could
-
not except the sin, because the sin of the world
-
separates us. So he was separated from the Father because
-
he was taking the sin of the whole world on himself.
-
Matthew twenty seven forty six. Matthew twenty seven forty six.
-
It was the six hour and verse forty five until
-
the nine hour, and there was darkness all over the land.
-
It was just dark, dark clouds. And then the nine
-
hour Jesus cried out with a loud boice, saying, Eli
-
Lama sabahtani, that is my God, my God, Why have
-
you for sake me? Why did Jesus say that? The
-
very reason was that the Father had to forsake him,
-
had turned from the sin of the world that was
-
on his son. That was the only time that Jesus
-
was ever separated from the Father. Even while he walked
-
on earth, he communicated with above Father God, would even
-
you know, turn up and say, this is my beloved son,
-
follow him, you know. But this was the one time
-
he was separated from his father. The only reason because
-
he carried the weights of sin for the world, for us,
-
for us who were not yet born, for us who
-
was there. They were there. He bore us sin and
-
then next he laid his life down. Look twenty three,
-
verse forty six. Look twenty three, verse forty six.
-
States that his last words, he says, and Jesus cried
-
out with a loud voice, Father, into your hands, I
-
commit my spirit.
-
And having said this, he breathed his last Better remember,
-
no one took him down. It took himself out by
-
laying his life down for us. The soldiers didn't really
-
well they can't blame the soldiers. Yes, the soldiers their
-
own Jews to him. But he knew why he came.
-
The devil Satan just wanted to defeat Jesus, but he didn't.
-
He wasn't defeated by like, you know, piercing him. He said, Father,
-
I commit my spirit. He laid his life down, and
-
then he breathed his last. He was in control because
-
he held up all the way. Wow, he laid his
-
life down for all of us. Amen. And as he
-
laid down his life for all of us, we now
-
have victory over sin and death. Victory over sin and death. Hallelujah. Amen.
-
This is our Easter. But we had to have a
-
good Friday. Amen. So First Corinthians, chapter fifteen and verse
-
fifty six to fifty seven reads this, the sting of
-
death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
-
But thanks be to God who gives us the victory
-
through our Lord Jesus Christ. He gives us the victory
-
to our Lord Jesus Christ, victory. We now stand in victory. Amen, hallelujah.
-
So I like the verse. Anyone has a New Living
-
Translation here? Anybody reading the New Living Translation I'm trying
-
to find. I want to read that version to you,
-
New Living Translation. Okay, all right, and this is First Corinthians.
-
I'm sorry. First Corinthians, chapter fifteen, verse fifty six. It
-
writes in a much more simpler way. It says, for
-
sin is the sting that results in death. So when
-
that sin, we will die, we will be forever separated
-
from God. And then the law gives sin its power
-
because we have broken the law from the sin of Adam.
-
It says, yeah, but thank God, he gives us victory
-
over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. Simple English,
-
easier to understand. Amen. All right, So that's where you
-
can see the word. He gives us victory over sin
-
and death. Whoever is in Christ, Jesus has eternal life
-
because Jesus has overcome death, because death is the result
-
of sin. But Jesus took our sin. Amen. Hallelujah. Do
-
I hear an? Amen? Yeah? Amen, So we have victory
-
over sin and death. A leelujah. Amen. God is ever
-
ever so good to have you know, planned all this
-
for us to redeem us from our from ourselves. We
-
could not have saved ourselves. As we walk through this week,
-
as you go through scripture in the Book of John,
-
and these will highlight up to you as you come
-
through chapter nineteen, chapter eighteen, nineteen twenty, you will see
-
this explanation, this story, this you know, just sequence of
-
his journey and how would it, I mean allow it
-
to marry Nate in your heart allow it to speak
-
to us louder than just reading words. Read into the emotion,
-
the pain, the commitment of Christ to finish the whole
-
journey and not give up while it was so so horrible.
-
He knew it would be horrible, he knew it would
-
be very painful, but he went through it. So my
-
thought for us is take this final week to Good Friday,
-
during your prey and your past, and reflect the fresh
-
on the finished work of the Cross. It is a
-
finished work of the cross. Amen, it's not half finished work.
-
We don't just hang across on our necks. If you are,
-
do you? And do you remember? Do you know how
-
much it costs? And I like that song we sing.
-
I forget who's a singer. I'm in somebody there that
-
you get like, I'll never know how much it costs
-
to see my sin upon that cross. I'll never know
-
how much it costs to see my sin upon that cross.
-
We worship at the feet of Jesus, at the feet
-
of the cross, once again, coming to the feet of
-
the Cross, at the feet of the Cross, at the
-
keel of Calvary, and two wow, taking not only the
-
sacrifice but the love of God for us. Amen. Amen,
-
And it's not a sad story because Friday looked Friday
-
looked like a very sad day, dark clouds and all.
-
But you know where there's a Friday that's going to
-
be a Sunday. Where there's going to be a Friday
-
that's going to be a Sunday. So sometimes in our
-
lives it looks like a Friday where the clouds are dark,
-
where your exam results are just nonsense, when your finances
-
have drained out, when your favor is not there. It
-
looks like a Friday, Jessica. But there's a Sunday. Amen.
-
There will always be a Sunday. If there is a death,
-
that will be a resurrection. So you say to yourself,
-
if it's a Friday, you say with some attitude, But
-
a Sunday is a coming, all right. A Sunday is
-
a coming. There is a Sunday. Sometimes our marriage looks
-
like it's in a dark cloud. But hey, don't just
-
throw in the towel. Look at what Jesus did for us,
-
for our marriage, for our relationships, for our friendships, for
-
the relationship between parents and children. The misunderstanding, and many
-
times it is a misunderstanding. Many times is it's read wrongly.
-
You and I read into things which should not have
-
been read into. But we fall into the hands of
-
just manipulation that this is why, this is why. And
-
then you walk away from that friendship, you walk away
-
from that relationship. Yet behind you lies so much goodness,
-
so much That's a Friday, and sometimes we go through
-
our Fridays. But we must hold on that Jesus didn't
-
remain in the two, wasn't in the grave forever. What
-
did he do between Friday and Sunday? Well, they say
-
you went down a hell and he took back the keys,
-
took back the keys from the devil keys of eighties death.
-
I'm sorry. There was this card called grace. Thank God
-
for this grace, grace of God to forgive us. There
-
will be a Sunday. So in life, some days will
-
look like a Friday where you're you know, I know
-
that there are some people who cannot no job, are
-
any really no job? You know in a year? Just wife,
-
lost job, husband, no business coming in. It looks like
-
a Friday. It's dark. We didn't remain dark forever. So
-
our timing in the Lord is just cry out to
-
a savior. Went all the way for us to make
-
a way for us. Amen, hallelujah. God's grace is always
-
there for us. I'm grateful every day for my salvation.
-
I'm grateful every day I tell Jesus, Lord, thank you
-
for saving me. I am such a sainful person. I
-
really don't know how to live some days and fail,
-
but I thank you Lord for your grace and mercy
-
that I can still have a chance to serve. You
-
still have a chance to make it right, to say
-
sorry to someone, to be better because of the cross.
-
It's at the cross that we bow our knee and
-
we surrender our pain, our shame. Are you a shame?
-
Are you going through a terrible time? You feel that
-
this is too shameful? Jesus took the shame for us.
-
Are you in pain? Jesus also took out pain to
-
give us joy. If you have shame, he took out
-
shame to give us dignity. If we are poor, He
-
became poor to make us rich. In Him. We have
-
all that I need. Truly, when we sing the song
-
like You're all I want, You're all I ever needed?
-
Do you really mean it? Is He really Christ is
-
enough for me? Is Christ really enough? Or you need
-
that other ivy cup? Do you need that vyd Or?
-
Christ is enough for me. You know, I really want
-
to get married. I don't be single. Whoever, Christ is
-
enough for me. Thank you for the cross, the mighty cross.
-
Are you Jesus, please remove this person, my boss. That's
-
what that's the truth. Wasn't in such a pain, but
-
yet he took the pain.
-
And you're the cross for the joy that was set
-
before you. Despising the shame. You take it. The shame
-
was nothing. I will do it for you. I will
-
take the shame for you. I will take the shame
-
for you when he did it. And so when we sing,
-
christis enough, I asked myself. But yesterday Jesus, I wanted
-
the local Save pod because the Zebra pod wasn't good enough.
-
If you understand pots and brands, is Christ truly enough
-
for us? Here's a question you must ask yourself. We
-
have to ask this ourselves today now every season now
-
as we come and go, it's God really enough? Can
-
we lay down? I mean, can we say thank you Lord?
-
What I have is enough? And you know what I need?
-
You know whether I need I need a new car,
-
You know if I need new clothes. You know if
-
I need, I need you know if I need you
-
know what you know what you need? You need water,
-
you'd need food, you need love. A baby born if
-
you never touch it, if you never carry that baby,
-
you never you need that baby will never know the
-
love of a mom. In government hospitals, the more mom
-
when you give birth, they put the baby on the
-
mom's chest. The baby's help. We need love? Is that enough?
-
Is Christ enough? As you worship the Lord Sunday in
-
Sunday out, just a good reminder that he is enough.
-
He's all I need. And you know what, He also
-
will give you your all eye won love one the new
-
shoe you got that really the mind one more place.
-
He also knows that he can give you your once.
-
But are you able to say thank you for what
-
I already have? This is my family, thank you? Thank you.
-
This is my wife, this is my husband, thank you.
-
We're not perfect, we're not there yet, Lord, but thank you.
-
And so this heart of gratefulness, thankfulness should come off
-
in our lives as regular as possible.
-
Because the work at the Cross was not by silver
-
or gold.
-
Jesus stated by it by bribing and puts some other
-
man that looks like him at the cross.
-
But he was one Jewish man that took three nails
-
to give us our selfish one nail or so nail outdoors.
-
Oh we cry Jesus took three nails and we hang
-
on the cross. Hallelujah. Amen. God is so good. So
-
as we come to the Cross this Friday, as we
-
celebrate Good Friday, so important. Actually, you know, this season
-
more than Christmas on Good Friday is powerful. Easter is
-
actually very powerful. Rather, the resurrection Sudday is powerful more
-
than I know. If the birth of Christ is important,
-
but just as important as his birth, his death and
-
resurrection is why we are alive today. And so if
-
there's anything you can be thankful for, you know, we
-
could have made a million mistakes, you just say, Lord,
-
thank you that you took my mistakes, my shape, and
-
you give me a new day today. Let's day. Halleluis,
-
Thank you Jesus. Amen. Where there's a Friday, folks, there's
-
going to be a Sunday. If you felt that you
-
made a big boo boo in life, well that's your Friday.
-
Sunday is a coming. You have a chance at the
-
cross to you turn AMD twenty days we get twenty
-
one days, we get a U turn. I'm not the
-
most eloquent speaker of friends, but the Holy Spirit is
-
the one who speaks to your heart. Don't look at me.
-
I'm just a message and I'm not perfect. But you
-
have a U turn. And if you haven't started praying
-
and you haven't done any fasting, hey one more week.
-
It's good. Also you even one day you fast, or
-
one day you would just focus and pray and just
-
look at the cross. The beauty of the cross is
-
not a shapeful cross. It is a beautiful wow work
-
of redemption of something.
