  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your team.

  3. So the title of my message today is maturity in Christ. Okay,

  4. maturity in Christ. So our church this year, our team

  5. is a discipleship disciple first and beyond just a team,

  6. we're also doing different things. We're having discipleship meetings. Uh,

  7. you know, we call our discipleship connection huddles, you know.

  8. And also that's where we raise leaders, you know. And

  9. why do we need leaders in the church, Well, we

  10. need people to lead. We need people to help us

  11. take up responsibilities in a church. We need people to

  12. you know, build the ministry and build the church together. Okay,

  13. that's why we need leaders.

  14. You know.

  15. Leaders is a term that everybody understands, right, but also

  16. sometimes leader leadership is also a term where people it's

  17. kind of like a bad word, you know, like, oh,

  18. you know, leader means I got more responsibility. Well, in

  19. a way, yes, responsibilities are part and pass of life,

  20. you know, and going deep into disciple first and again

  21. it's not something that we will do this year and

  22. the next year we won't do, you know. Uh, following

  23. the team that passes cannot shared with us, you know,

  24. the prophetic team that shared us for our church, and

  25. he even charted the way for the next five years.

  26. Is d R E A M. You know.

  27. So first we have discipleship. Next year we've got revival.

  28. After that we've got evangelism. Then we've got action as

  29. in social action, and then finally we have missions.

  30. Right what we are doing as a church is.

  31. We are going deep into these teams right towards twenty

  32. the T who knows what's going to happen in twenty

  33. the T who knows what's going to happen right now

  34. on this earth, you know, with tariffs and with prices

  35. going up. You know, ev cars, you know, I just

  36. saw news yesterday that someone just built a flying car.

  37. If you want to own a flying car, maybe in

  38. the next I don't know whether it happened or not, Okay,

  39. but I got so much investment from the flying cars.

  40. So many things happening in this world, you know. But

  41. I think the one thing that is well, not just

  42. one thing. As much as we are progressing as a

  43. human species, there are certain things in our lives.

  44. That are constant. You'll catch that.

  45. There are certain things in our lives they are constant

  46. no matter how things change outside you know, whether it's financial,

  47. or whether it's the economy, whether it's true wars. There

  48. are certain things in our lives that are constant.

  49. Right.

  50. Let me give you a few constant things. Yourself is constant.

  51. Who you are as a person is constant. Your family

  52. is constant, hopefully not constant. Your need for a job

  53. is constant corent Okay. For those of you are still studying,

  54. you're studying so they can get a job.

  55. Right.

  56. There are certain things in life that's constant. Relationships is constant.

  57. Right.

  58. When I say that, what I mean is that people

  59. you know who are single want to get married and

  60. then they will have kids. And then these are constant things, right.

  61. There are certain things in life that is constant.

  62. Right.

  63. We may have evy cast or flying cast in future,

  64. but mobility is constant correct, meaning getting from somewhere to

  65. another place is constant.

  66. Right. So there are certain things that's constant in this world. Okay.

  67. One of the constant things for us as believer us

  68. is our faith. That is constant. That means, no matter

  69. how crazy the world gets, our faith is still there.

  70. It doesn't change, or no, it doesn't one day suddenly

  71. I oh, no, now I change, I believe in No, no, no,

  72. it's constant. The external things in our lives can change,

  73. but our faith is constant.

  74. You'll catch that.

  75. That means tomorrow today you're still you want to know,

  76. I mean, hopefully you change to be better luck okay?

  77. And can I also say that growth is constant, right,

  78. because if you don't grow, then you're not alive. Anything

  79. that is a life grows, anything that is a life

  80. moves forward, progresses, right, And you can say no, no, no,

  81. I don't want I want to say. I just saw

  82. this clip. Someone said the average the average years of

  83. a person living after retirement is six years average years.

  84. And the person in the job then therefore don't retire

  85. that which is in a way true because as you

  86. learn about retirement, retirement is oh, you know, I don't

  87. have to work anymore.

  88. I want to do whatever I want. I want to.

  89. But you see, in life, right.

  90. You've got to have a purpose, you've got to have

  91. a progression, you've got to move forward, right, and if

  92. you don't, then you are not alive. If you think

  93. that that's the goal of life is to make it

  94. big and you don't have to work anymore and have

  95. no purpose.

  96. You're not going to progress.

  97. All of us progress, even our kids, because there's something

  98. to look forward to in life. There's something to work,

  99. fight four live for the moment we lose that, then

  100. we might not survive things happen. Okay, So that's constant.

  101. So despite what's happening in the world, if our faith

  102. is constant, then we need to constantly grow.

  103. Amen, we need to constantly mature. Amen. Right, Let's read

  104. some scripture. Okay, are you guys?

  105. Okay, Hebrews chapter Let's read Hebrews chapter five, verse one

  106. to eleven. Okay, I'm gonna read Hebrews chapter five, verse

  107. one to eleven. And for those Bibles, whether electronic or

  108. you know, paper, please turn to that and I'm gonna read. Okay,

  109. it's in the New King James. Maybe one day i'll

  110. read in NLT. It's a bit more easier to understand

  111. because I.

  112. Know I have kids here, but let's try. Okay. So

  113. today's word is maturity. In Christ, he.

  114. Says here for every high priest take from among men,

  115. is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that

  116. he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

  117. Right.

  118. If you study the Old Testament, you also learn that

  119. God was the one that established priests, and price is

  120. supposed to sacrificic sacrifices on behalf the people, to atone

  121. your sins, right, right, that's what priest sem to do.

  122. Right.

  123. And then it says orse too, he can have compassion

  124. on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he

  125. himself is also subject to weakness.

  126. Right.

  127. Because of this, he's required as for the people, so

  128. also for himself to offer sacrifices for sins. And no

  129. man takes his honor to himself, but he who is

  130. caught by God, just as Aaron was. So Aaron didn't

  131. ask for the job. He was given the job by

  132. from God to constantly every day sacrifice for man's sin right,

  133. a tone for our sins, right, Okay. Verse five says

  134. so also Christ did not glorify himself to become high priests.

  135. But it was he who said to him, you are

  136. my son. Today I have forgotten you.

  137. And as he also says in another place, you are

  138. a priest forever according to the order order of my

  139. ky select. So God anointed and appointed Jesus. Okay, So

  140. he appointed Aaron. Aaron had to do it every day.

  141. He appointed Jesus to be high priests. But Jesus did

  142. it once. Your cash that Jesus did did it once?

  143. I mean for all some of us. Here's elementary, okay,

  144. I'm just doing some revision with you guys. Verse seven

  145. says who in the days of his flesh, when he

  146. had offered up prayers and supplications with Himan Christs and

  147. tears to him who was able to save him from death,

  148. and was hurt because of his godly fear though he

  149. was a son, Yet he learned obedience by the things

  150. which he suffered. And of course constantly we understand that Jesus,

  151. being the son of God and the son of man,

  152. he can actually call angels and do different things. But

  153. he tahan, okay, he endured, He suffered so that he

  154. can go to the cross, right, And they mocked him.

  155. They say, hey, where are your angels? Were able? And

  156. just imagine some of you here, imagine. Let me try

  157. and think of some stories. I've heard of this one

  158. story where a really rich guy, but he wore like

  159. Pagoda shirt and like Uncle Pans going into a BMW dealership.

  160. I've heard many of these kind of stories before, and

  161. then of course dressed down loud, right, but rich, and then.

  162. People didn't want to lie on him.

  163. And then of course, after a while ego affected, he

  164. just go there and then he bought a BMW. You know,

  165. I've heard of another story where you know another person

  166. who also dressed down go to a music shop I

  167. won't say with music shop, right, and wanted to play

  168. or try and test out a guitar that cost twenty

  169. thousand dollars. And of course the people didn't lie on him.

  170. And then apparently he had a war of cash. I

  171. don't why he's carrying so much cash. He threw the

  172. cash on the counter and say, you think I got

  173. no money?

  174. Is it?

  175. You know, as human beings, we sometimes want to prove

  176. other people right. But you know that Jesus could have

  177. done so much, but he ended to go to the

  178. cross because he was the high priest, and he made

  179. one secret for us, amen. And but and having been perfected,

  180. he became the author of eternal salvation to all who

  181. obey him, called by God as high priests according to

  182. the order of Malkizada, of whom we have much to

  183. say and hard to explain, since you have become dull

  184. of hearing ooh, very in your face. Okay, I'm going

  185. to read further Hebrews, chapter five, verse twelve. It says

  186. here for though, oh and let me maybe I'll read

  187. the n healthy vision. It's an healthy version that I

  188. think I put up, the nalthty version. This is the

  189. main scripture for today's sharing. You have been believers so

  190. long now that you ought to be teaching others.

  191. How many of you here are like that? Don't lift

  192. up your hand. That was a trick question.

  193. Okay, you ought to be teaching others insane. You need

  194. someone to teach you again the basic things about godsworld.

  195. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat

  196. solid food. For someone who lives on malk is still

  197. an infant and does not doesn't know how to do

  198. what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature,

  199. who true training have the skill to recognize the difference

  200. between right and wrong. Okay, okay, So we understand a

  201. few things out of this scripture. Number one, the role

  202. of a priest right having compassion for those who've gone astray,

  203. as he also is weak and offering sacrifices for their sins.

  204. What is our role here friends, for the sake of

  205. the world. I would argue that our role is like

  206. a priest, right, and if you're doing our jobs as priests,

  207. then you'll be saving the loss you get me, not

  208. just ourselves, because someone reached out to me, someone became

  209. a priest to me.

  210. Right.

  211. And of course the other argument or point our make

  212. cross is that Christ, being a priest chosen by his

  213. other father, plays that role for us. He played He

  214. did it once, he died on the cross, He sacrificed

  215. for us done really. No need to do every morning

  216. wake up sacrifice, no need do all this. He did

  217. it once, right, And for us who are called to

  218. follow him, don't you think that's what it means?

  219. I follow Christ, I do the same.

  220. We're not asking you to go and dine across our friends,

  221. because he did it, really.

  222. But the least that.

  223. We can do is standing the gap for others, for

  224. our fellow brother those who are here, for those that

  225. are not here. I'm not just talking about norm believe,

  226. but I'm talking about Christians as well.

  227. Watch out for one another, care for one another.

  228. Make sure all of us make it, make sure of

  229. us run this race and theory and make it right.

  230. That's what we should do.

  231. And we are also called to spiritual maturity. I don't

  232. think any of you are arguing me on that. We

  233. are called to be spiritually mature. And it's very clear

  234. here to tell the difference between right and wrong. Do

  235. you know that now in the world it's very hard

  236. to see right and wrong. In fact, I might say

  237. some things here that you might think is wrong. But

  238. then if we follow the word, I will argue that

  239. whatever that the Word says is right until God, because

  240. it's his words.

  241. Right.

  242. So we are called according to spiritual maturity, all of

  243. us here, everyone here, we are called according to spiritual maturity.

  244. Even our kids, they are called to be mature. Right,

  245. you want them to be mature? Right, that's what we're

  246. called to do. Right, Hebrews six one to eight says,

  247. But does he say, I think I wrote it there?

  248. So so let us stop going over the basic teachings

  249. about Christ.

  250. Let let's stop. Let's stop.

  251. Let's stop arguing on how to fold the commun in cloth.

  252. Let's stop arguing on whether we should shake hands this

  253. way or shake hands says way. Let's stop arguing about

  254. what song to sing on a Sunday or what song

  255. Let's stop arguing about that. Let's stop arguing about whether

  256. Jesus done across or not. Because if you're still arguing

  257. about whether Jesus done across or not, then are we

  258. believers or not?

  259. We are not. Okay, I'm not saying that you're arguing here.

  260. I'm just can we stop arguing about whether we need

  261. to come for prayer service or not, or whether we

  262. need to come to church early on Sunday or not.

  263. I'm just using more relevant points for us.

  264. Okay.

  265. Last time they argue about the validity of the cross,

  266. and of course after that they got different connections. You know,

  267. we started the history right, So let's stop going over

  268. the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Christ came,

  269. died for your sins, friends, and therefore you are redeemed.

  270. So stop sinning, stop asking for forgiveness again, accept the forgiveness.

  271. And move on.

  272. Overcome it because Christ gave us the ability to overcome.

  273. Amen.

  274. Right, And if you are weak, let's lean on another person.

  275. If you're weak, let's commune with each other. If you

  276. are weak, let's allow the Holy Spirit to move in

  277. our lives because Christ did it all.

  278. Right, isn't it? Isn't it? Oh? Man? What's that word?

  279. You find the right word to use? Okay? I can't

  280. find another word and any word to use. Kay.

  281. We shouldn't be saying one thing and believing in another thing, right,

  282. it should just be one thing.

  283. Whatever the Bible says is true.

  284. Iman, So let us go in, stay and become mature

  285. in our understanding. Friends say mature and you're understanding mature

  286. and understanding. See it's not just what the passes and

  287. leaders for everyone here to be mature and you're understanding, right,

  288. mature and understanding for what. Surely we don't need to

  289. start the game with the fundamental importance of repenting from

  290. either this and placing our faith in God.

  291. Whoa, whoa, whoa.

  292. When I was twelve, I accept the Christ once and

  293. consecutively for the next year, I responded to the salvation

  294. called at least three of four times.

  295. And I think I really got safe.

  296. When I went for a youth kept when I was fifteen,

  297. I was not mature, because if I was, the maturity

  298. in my thinking first time, I know done really right?

  299. How many of you here experience you have to kind

  300. of repea to your children again and again and again

  301. to do certain things right. Please do your homework, please

  302. wash your plans, please give your clothes. You know, and

  303. then they will say it's nagging, right, basic stuff, because

  304. they're not mature. That's how we need to remind them,

  305. because their minds are set on other things that are

  306. more important to them.

  307. You get what I mean. And sometimes you are like that.

  308. We are setting our minds on things that are more

  309. important to us, but we are not mature in the faith,

  310. so we keep coming back to here. You don't need

  311. further instruction about baptisms, the laying of hence, the resurrection

  312. of the date, and eternal judgment. That's why, okay, this

  313. sign gets a bit more deeper, okay, And I will

  314. say this, for those of you who have not been

  315. baptized and your creation for a long time, and you're

  316. above eighteen, what are you waiting for?

  317. What are you waiting for? Right?

  318. And so God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.

  319. We will move forward to further understanding. I already here.

  320. Let us not go back to standard one to learn

  321. what's one plus one again? And for those who are

  322. not in Malaysian education system. Let's not go back to

  323. prep a year one to learn what is one plus

  324. one when we are already juggling budgets, buying big items

  325. like cars and houses and dealing with million dollar contracts.

  326. Does that make sense? Y'all?

  327. Some things, don't you argue or no somethings. It's like that,

  328. really are just need accept move on? You know.

  329. I like what person I said about. Actually, our faith

  330. is reasonable faith. It's true. It's reasonable faith.

  331. When we go up and wait, wait, when we wait

  332. are in the morning and we buy a new car,

  333. do we check every single thing? And I can't know.

  334. We just buy the car and move on. And if

  335. we don't like it, you know, we change it. We

  336. trust that the car works right. When we get on

  337. a plane, we trust that the plane will fly. That's

  338. a lot of faith.

  339. Okay, let's talk about milk versus meat.

  340. I guys, okay, there are four points that I will

  341. present to you today, and I hope you guys can

  342. catch something and we can grow together. We can grow

  343. together because we all need to mature right. We all

  344. need to mature right. So milt versus meat first, bitter

  345. two to one to three says, therefore, laying aside malice,

  346. all malice, all these seid, hypocrisy, envy.

  347. And all evil speaking.

  348. Gotta lay the side friends evil speaking. I admit I

  349. also do it. Sometimes say the wrong thing right, or

  350. sometimes you know, joke about things right, and it's evil admittantly,

  351. and I have to ask for forgiveness right, or speak

  352. ill of people Jesus standard is worse. Okay, think evil

  353. of you think means the fault that say you've seen

  354. really right? Later aside as newborn babes, desire the pure

  355. milk of the Word that you may grow thereby if

  356. indeed you have fastered that the Lord sorry tasted that

  357. the Lord is gracious. Okay, I me break down this

  358. scripture for you. If God is good to you, then

  359. you should receive his word without reproach. Big word reproach,

  360. You receive his word without doubt thing. If God is good,

  361. if you truly believe that God is good, then every

  362. word that he speaks from his word you should receive

  363. without doubt. Think there should be no doubt in your mind.

  364. That is the word of God, not from man. I'm

  365. talking about the word of God, the.

  366. Bible, right and milk, milk? What is milk good for?

  367. I went online and I google milk is beneficial for

  368. babies due to it's complete nutritional composition and ease of digestion.

  369. It provides all the necessary nutrients and it's tailored to

  370. an infants developing needs. Why do baby steink milk because

  371. they cannot choose mel no teeth right?

  372. Developing? Right?

  373. Milk is a good source of calcium, protein and vitamin

  374. D and B twelve, but it lacks essential nutrients like fiber,

  375. iron and vitamin C. Relying solely on milk for nourishment

  376. in adulthood is not sustainable or recommended approach due to

  377. the potential for nutritional deficiencies and other health ways. And

  378. of course some people are lactose intolerant, right, correct?

  379. Not?

  380. And can I tell you that almond milk is not

  381. the same with cols milk? Very different.

  382. Okay, let me talk a bit about milk, and I'll

  383. try my best not to hurt your feelings. But it's

  384. a bit hard because some of us here we are

  385. still relying on milk. I wanted to find a picture

  386. of a tear old adult drinking from a bottle.

  387. Looks weird.

  388. Right, if you think about it, I give you that

  389. image now for the adult drinking from a bottle.

  390. Weird image, right.

  391. But the reality is when it comes to spiritual things,

  392. a lot of us who have been believer us for

  393. a long time, we're.

  394. Still there offended passes say wrong thing. No, no, no, no.

  395. This church is.

  396. When it comes to spiritual things. Friends, we need to mature.

  397. You know, God is good to us, No, I I

  398. truly believe that He meets us where we're at right.

  399. But the thing is He wants us to progress.

  400. So even if you take a longer time, it's okay,

  401. but don't take too long now, a lot of time

  402. with still no right?

  403. What should we instead desire? So it comes to a desire.

  404. First, we should desire to meet friends wine because meat

  405. is a good source of protein. I also google this

  406. vitamins and minerals, making it a valuable part of a

  407. balanced adult diet. It provides essential nutrients like iron, zinc,

  408. and vitamin bechrial and iodine, which are crucial for various

  409. bodily functions. Babies can and should be introduced to meat

  410. as part of their diet, typically starting around six months

  411. of age, when they begin to eat solid foods. Meat

  412. is a good source of iron and other essential nutrients

  413. that babies need for optimal growth and development.

  414. So you know, there's something very interesting here.

  415. Meat is something good for adults and also babies after

  416. six months ho right, but male is good for babies

  417. adults not so much if you just rely on malk

  418. You got that. So when if I use that terminology

  419. for the Word of God, what are we desiring for

  420. God's Word? Are we desiring to be challenged or are

  421. you just desiring for good time? Are you desiring to

  422. be tickled? Or are you desiring to go deeper in

  423. the Word? Really, that is something you have to answer

  424. as a believer. Do I want to go deeper in

  425. the world? And here we ask the church. We've got

  426. a vision to to have a Bible college, you know,

  427. and we we do.

  428. We we as much as we can.

  429. We're trying to make it easier for people to study

  430. the Word of God. I think Past the Man just

  431. completed Christian foundations, right, It is a very good lesson

  432. in apps and we're offering it soon right where you

  433. get to study at your own time and come for discussions.

  434. A lot of effort and work put into it. A

  435. lot of effort and work put into it so that

  436. you know, we make sure that we are true to

  437. the doctrine or what we believe in as believers. I

  438. will encourage your guys to go through it. You know,

  439. as apps is rolling sound These things why we want

  440. rebeliever here to go deeper in the world. Yes, you

  441. you are good at other things. Maybe you're good at

  442. making money, maybe a good experience. Maybe you've got all

  443. these different things. But what about your spiritual walk? What

  444. about your spiritual walk with Christ? Read your Bible, prayer

  445. do you day? It's good, but sometimes it's not enough.

  446. Some people just really on that. You don't need just

  447. need the theory. You need the practical training as well.

  448. You need to serve. You know, some people are here

  449. and you're not served in a long time due to

  450. different reasons. It's okay, I understand that, but can you

  451. at least move forward one step, because when you do that,

  452. you challenge yourself. You you you know, it's one thing

  453. to read the Bible and say forgive your neighbor. It's

  454. another thing to be offended and have to forgive your neighbor.

  455. Does that make sense?

  456. It's one thing really to read the Bible and say

  457. love the another bird. And it's not to really have

  458. somebody your life there. It's like, oh Lord, help me

  459. and just say love that brother. Co It's different one. No,

  460. but a lot of times we stay in the milk pod.

  461. Of course we're scared, so I don't meet. I say

  462. in the milk pie. I hang out with the milk pod.

  463. You know.

  464. I just want to feel good. The supposed to do that, right,

  465. it's supposed to just friends. No, we need to go deeper,

  466. mature more. There will be challenges in your life that

  467. you really need God. There are some things that you

  468. experiencing in your life, family challenges, health challenges, work challenges

  469. that you really go deep with God.

  470. Amen.

  471. That's why you got to prepare for it.

  472. Amen. You guys can think this. Not I'm giving you meat. No,

  473. someone you're.

  474. Choking on the mes telling too much.

  475. Okay, let's talk about the next thing. Growing up.

  476. Yeah, it's gonna get deeper and deeper. Guys, you guys, okay,

  477. not what does you say?

  478. Are here first? Corigiance tree one to three, and I

  479. brethren should not.

  480. Speak to you as spiritual people, but as to connel,

  481. as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk

  482. and not with solid food, for until now you are

  483. not able to receive it. And even now you're still

  484. not able, for you are still cornel For where there

  485. are envy, strife and divisions among you, are you not.

  486. Carnal and behaving like mere men?

  487. Okay, a bit too deep, bro, Let's go to the

  488. NFTY version a bit more easier to understand.

  489. Dear brothers and sisters.

  490. When I was with you, I could not talk to

  491. you as I would to spiritual people. I had to

  492. talk as though you belong to this world, or as

  493. though you were infancy in Christ. I had to fit

  494. you with now with solid food, because you weren't ready

  495. for anything stronger. And you still aren't ready, for you

  496. are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous

  497. of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn't that

  498. prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren't you

  499. living like people of the world who ouch? Okay, let

  500. me give you this perspective. One of the things we

  501. encourage people in this church is to be in a

  502. discipleship relationship. Why because you'll go deeper. I know there

  503. are a lot of people who like not king or

  504. I mean I I think there are a lot of misconceptions

  505. about discipleship relationship. And I really don't like to use

  506. the word mentoring because mentoring just says that the person

  507. knows more than me. But actually sometimes in a discipleship

  508. relationship that's not true. The person might not know a

  509. lot more than you. They just know a little bit,

  510. but they rely on the Holy Spirit. And because the

  511. Lord is there in the picture, because you have committed

  512. the relationship to the Lord, you know, most of the

  513. time the harder leader be guided by the Lord. That's

  514. what we have observed and seen. Right, That's why you

  515. cannot simply be under anybody's discipership of solar Okay, you

  516. don't see me choose anybody. You need God to lead

  517. you as well. Right, And imagine this imagine is every

  518. time your disciper to talk to you, right, they have

  519. to hold back because you cannot take it. They have

  520. to hold back because you cannot go deeper because either

  521. they'll be of fans, either be angry and then you know,

  522. you know, we're all human slat okay, or we touch

  523. an issue that cannot touch one right because too sensitive.

  524. How to grow friends, how to grow? We had to grow? No,

  525. have you seen sports movies? Sports movies? Have you seen everywhere? Quite? Now?

  526. You come on, guys, I'm not scoding you all, I know,

  527. invest wrong with it by not scolling you. Okay, maybe

  528. I should. I don't know, lady. Maybe I should change

  529. my lingo or wear a dress on it. And I'm

  530. the drinking you know, maybe maybe change. I changed a

  531. little bit, you know. I feel everybody like scartery you now?

  532. Is this good stuff? Are you guys getting something from this?

  533. So there was a movie scene I saw and it

  534. was very interesting.

  535. I can't remember movie d.

  536. This guy was a quarterback and he was of course

  537. a bit of a rebel because he knows the star

  538. player and uh, and he knows his his his record

  539. p r uh. Basically, they have this exercise where they

  540. have to put someone on their back and they have

  541. to crawl on false face on the on the field

  542. and in his mind right he can compete half half

  543. the field with half the football field. We don't know

  544. how long, love okay, uh, and his mind he could

  545. complete it. And what happened was the coach, after being

  546. a little bit fed up with him, being too like

  547. I don't know, pride, fool or whatever, and they don't

  548. want to follow the coach, said the coach as seemed

  549. to blind for himself. And then the coach got the

  550. friend to be on his back, and then he said,

  551. you keep going until you cannot go anymore. You keep

  552. pushing yourself until you cannot push anymore. And then it

  553. was a very very epic scene. And then he was

  554. pushing and pushing and pushing, and of course the friends

  555. are like laughing, laughing, laughing, you know, you know, and

  556. and like yeah, you know, he won't be a rich

  557. and then he's like, I can't, I can't and then coach,

  558. it just keep going, just keep going. He can't see

  559. who he's going on, but the coach is pushing him

  560. until he cannot know.

  561. So he literally when when when? When? When?

  562. Until he really normal energy and he just fell on

  563. the floor and so I can't go and it's like

  564. crying and all right, and then of course said and

  565. by the halfway mater, I mean we can't see what's happening.

  566. But by the halfway mark or something like that, all

  567. the friends that were jeering and making fun stopped during

  568. and making fun and they all stood up to look,

  569. and they were all quiet right, and once the same finish,

  570. the course said, I keep telling you push yourself until

  571. you can't push yourself under. You can't take off your

  572. blind phone. He took a looka he was not just

  573. over the touchdown lane. He was at least a few

  574. meters fast the field.

  575. He did way more.

  576. Than he could. Friends, you can't do that if you

  577. stay in the shadow. You can't push yourself further than

  578. what you can do. If every single small thing affects you.

  579. You can't.

  580. Your capacity cannot be stretched if you're afraid to trust

  581. your coach, your discipler, the person that sees the potential

  582. in your life, the person that the Lord has placed

  583. over your life. I asked myself this question all the time. God,

  584. why did you use discipleship as a method. You know,

  585. God is so smart, you know, smarter than any of

  586. us combined, because he created the world. Why did he

  587. use discipleship? Because it works? Because discipleship works at every level.

  588. Because my child, who is young, who has no idea

  589. on certain things, is discipled by me as a parent, disciple,

  590. co or not mean, whatever word you want to put

  591. that up.

  592. And when they grew up.

  593. Right, maybe my role as a parent cannot disciple them

  594. anymore because your individuals, then someone else toll disciple them.

  595. But the discipleship model works as long as both is

  596. in agreement, as long as people want to be discipled,

  597. then it works. That's why discipleship is good, right, I

  598. guess okay Galatians six one to five. Galatians six one

  599. to five. I think it's the next one.

  600. Okay. Oh sorry, Oh I'm still growing up. Sorry, reverse, reverse,

  601. a little bit, reverse, a little bit. Okay.

  602. Galatians five sixteen seventing says, but I say what by

  603. the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of

  604. the flesh, for the desires of the flesh against the spirit,

  605. and the desires of the spirit against the flesh, for

  606. these are opposed to each other to keep you from

  607. doing the things you want to do.

  608. Right.

  609. And then first Quarententians thirteen, the team says, for we

  610. know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when

  611. that which is perfect has come, then that which is

  612. in part will be done away. So when I was

  613. a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as

  614. a child. I thought I was a child. But when

  615. I became a man, I put away childish things, for

  616. we know it's in a mirror dimly, but then face

  617. to face. Now I know in part, But then I

  618. shall know, just as I also know am known, and

  619. now by faith hope love this tree. But the greatest

  620. of this is love. So my second point is just this,

  621. Let's grow up. Let's grow up.

  622. Time to grow up, time to stop relying right on people, time.

  623. To grow up, Time to take responsibility of our own faith.

  624. Time to walk by the spirit and not by sight,

  625. to walk by faith and not by the flesh. James

  626. one four says, but let patients have his perfect work,

  627. then you may be perfect and complete lacking thing. One

  628. of the things that I also am realizing and growing,

  629. you know, in terms of progressing in life right now,

  630. is that you know, you come to a place where

  631. you think you don't need any more advice. You come

  632. to a place when you are old enough, when you

  633. have most of the things, when you're established, you got house,

  634. you got car, you got family, you got kids, you've

  635. got a good career, and you think you reach there

  636. and you think that you don't really need the scipership.

  637. Actually that's not true.

  638. And I'm beginning to recognize that there's a lie from

  639. the devil because pride comes in the picture. You know,

  640. and then you do so well deciping other people that

  641. you think you don't need. Actually it's not true. You

  642. still need guidance one. How old you are, you're still

  643. in guidance one. And as long as and of course

  644. people can say, oh, you know, I asked the Lord

  645. to guide me. Okay, correct answer if you if you

  646. if you go for a Bible study class, check one

  647. hundred percent, all of us need to ask her to

  648. guide this. Yes, okay, I won't disagree with you.

  649. But but what if you hear the wrong thing?

  650. What if you don't have the maturity to interpret what

  651. God is telling you? Isn't it good if you have

  652. someone else that's also hearing from the lot that can

  653. confirm me or correct it. Because other people are they

  654. have no steg one in our life. Can I be

  655. honest with you? All the guys are disciple. I want

  656. to see them going on, but they followed on, follow Isaiah.

  657. It doesn't affect me. Wh No, you get me, It

  658. doesn't affect besides the relation effect relation, don't listen to

  659. me I feel hurt, that's it. Not but it doesn't

  660. actually affect anything in my life or no, you get

  661. what I mean. That's wide When you talk about discipleship, right,

  662. it's always about the disciple.

  663. It is a very giving ministry is a very giving things.

  664. You know it works that way, right? Are you guys

  665. catching me right?

  666. So yeah, I'm talking about decide by shit. My next

  667. point is taking responsibility. That's the next point. So we

  668. start with milk versus meat. Encouragement is to have more

  669. meat than milk. Milk is good, okay once in a while.

  670. Milk okay, But I have more meat. And then it's

  671. time to grow up. For some of us who are

  672. not growing up yet, we think we're growing up.

  673. How do you grow up? Well, take a responsibility law?

  674. Coray or not?

  675. Parents, you won't disagree with me, right, How does your

  676. kids grow up? Take responsibility law for your own clothes, wash.

  677. Your you know what else? Are when you go out

  678. and when you work?

  679. Ready after you're eighteen, when you go out and stay

  680. on yourself, take responsibilit How rerunt your own house?

  681. Right? Or are we still living on farm? Ma? Fun?

  682. You understand my father?

  683. Mother Fundy says father Mather fun, No, we gotta take responsibility.

  684. Oh is this?

  685. Galaians their brothers and sisters with another believer is overcome

  686. by some saying, you, who are godly, should gently and

  687. humbly help that person back onto the right path, and

  688. be careful not to fall onto the same temptation yourself.

  689. Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the

  690. law of Christ. If you think you are too important

  691. to help someone, you're only fooling yourself. You are not

  692. that important, an healthy version ouch. Right, So let's first

  693. be responsible of our own selves and our own actions

  694. more importantly.

  695. Right.

  696. But but one of the ways where we can be

  697. really responsible is to also care for another person.

  698. Right.

  699. Romans fourteen of the teen says, So then each of

  700. us shall give account to himself to God.

  701. Therefore, let us not.

  702. Judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this not to

  703. put a stumbling block or cost to fall in our

  704. brother's way. Can I Can I have the first slide again,

  705. the picture of from baby to old men, not the

  706. first r? Yes, So that's baby okay, And then you

  707. have the progression. So the thing is, friends, that whatever

  708. I'm sharing today actually applies to every single part from

  709. baby all the way until you are Oh it does.

  710. It does apply in terms of maturity, in terms of

  711. you know, growing up, in terms of start starting to

  712. take responsibility. Maybe maybe in terms of taking responsibility. When

  713. you're a child, you take responsibility of yourself, You take

  714. responsibility over you know your your you know whether or

  715. not you wash your plates, whether or not you know

  716. how to dress yourself, whether or not it and then

  717. sot you grow up, become a campus student, then you

  718. taking responsibility of your finances. That's where you start to

  719. learn how to do time management, right, and then after

  720. that you start working. Then you have to take responsibility

  721. of your job because if you do a horrible performance

  722. your job, then you will lose your job. Then you've

  723. got no money, and then so on and so forth. Right,

  724. and then you go back and have farmer fans out right,

  725. But that's taking responsibility. And then after that we progress,

  726. we progress even more. Then we get married hopefully.

  727. Right. Yeah, as you talk.

  728. About marriage, and I'm looking at my brother Peter from Nigeria,

  729. and I really like his line about marriage.

  730. They think it's a waste of time.

  731. I just waiting for that time to say that you know, so,

  732. don't waste your time, right, just just trust a person

  733. in church or your mom or something that you ask

  734. him asking about.

  735. It's super cool, right the way they do it, and

  736. it works. Okay, it was very well.

  737. And when you're married, you take responsibility over your spouse

  738. coring on for those married, yes, no, some unsure. Yeah,

  739. you take responsibility of your spouth right, when they're sick,

  740. you take care of them.

  741. I hope you do a lot.

  742. Okay, if you don't have them, have to go through

  743. marriage counseling again. Right, and then I think you have kids,

  744. then you're taking responsibility of your kids, corer not.

  745. Are you guys catching something?

  746. See, even in the natural progression of life, we know

  747. these things because it happens and it's a given thing.

  748. Do you know that it works in the church as well?

  749. Y'all know that those who are serving, you're taking responsibility

  750. over your role. Maybe you are a leader, then you

  751. take responsibility over a person, right, as much as you can.

  752. And then for those who I wouldn't say progress, but

  753. I will say God expands the capacity, then you take

  754. responsibility over homes and then your capacity grows even more.

  755. Then you take responsibility over church. You know you're not easier.

  756. Becoming chest leader gust past Matt has the responsibility over

  757. the whole age group in the church.

  758. Right, you know we are not easy. But maturity.

  759. If buster mat is not mature, do you think that

  760. he can manage? If is not mature, do you think

  761. I can manage? I have to be, you know, no choice.

  762. Have to be mature, have to be and of course

  763. maturity comes with growth and all that kind of stuff

  764. like okay, so friends, you want to be mature or not?

  765. I hope you say yes, sir.

  766. I hope you don't say no, no, no, I want to

  767. stay and eat meal forever and ever and ever.

  768. No, let's all mature together, can right?

  769. Well, as you take responsibility, I pray that all of

  770. you here will have a desire to disciple others.

  771. See.

  772. The reason why that photo is there is because parents,

  773. you are already discipling your kids, whether you like it

  774. or not, your conduct. What you say, whether church is

  775. important for you, whether your faith is important for you,

  776. you're discipling them. What is important for you is what

  777. is important your kids think for their lives. So is decipleship,

  778. whether you like it, or not. So my encouragement of

  779. parents is disciple. Well, for those of you who want

  780. to be parents, can I give you an encouragement prepare yourself.

  781. Having a kid is not walking apart. The responsibility is heavy.

  782. That's why I don't think I think God is merciful

  783. to us. Now, God is massiful to us unless we

  784. find ourselves in trouble and we're going to do a

  785. kind of funny thing really is obey God. God make

  786. sures we are ready to be able to have kids.

  787. And I'm not saying this in any way that God

  788. doesn't want you have kids. I'm encouraging you to prepare

  789. yourself come to a place of maturity because a person

  790. who's not mature who has a child, whether it's a

  791. discipler or whatever, or a person who's not mature who

  792. has to take care of another person, it will go

  793. a very bad way on you'll get what I mean.

  794. And it's even worse that you have the responsibility to

  795. an individual.

  796. This is why our ex kus teachers are very important,

  797. because we entrust our children to excess teachers, and if

  798. our ex kys teachers are not at the level of

  799. the spiritual level, where at least they can take care

  800. of a child very dangerous. Imagine as teacher giving their

  801. own advice on life. You're you're getting a bit NC

  802. say things like that. Let's talk about other age groups, teens, campus,

  803. any age group, and any leader.

  804. That's why we take leadership seriously.

  805. Why because we know that influence is very powerful.

  806. You know what I mean it is. We are very

  807. careful with who we let.

  808. Our kids hang out with, right, what they say, the

  809. culture that they take on. So don't those that are

  810. taking care of young people know the responsibility of what

  811. you're caring for. It's not just be friend friends and

  812. happy happy. No, no, no, you have a person's life

  813. in your hands. Now, what you say or do affects terminal,

  814. especially if they look up to you. Such the weight

  815. of responsibility. One of the best ways to mature is

  816. to care for another. That's what I've learned and realized.

  817. One of the ways where I personally have grown is

  818. when I had a wife and later kids.

  819. I cannot run away from this.

  820. It's one thing discipling a person that you can okay,

  821. I'll see you next week. It's another thing another thing,

  822. caring for a person where you can see I'll see

  823. next week.

  824. Every day you see the person, right. And of course

  825. wife not so bad because wife is.

  826. A full grown adult, so some things she can manage herself, right,

  827. And thankfully my wife is very capable. Right, And mostly

  828. I think you have to take Mila. But the moment

  829. you have little humans in the house, oh my goodness.

  830. If you're not mature, if you still think that you know,

  831. playing games is your utmost priority. If you still think

  832. that hang out your friends is your utmost priority in life,

  833. if you still a thing that watching the latest Transformers

  834. movie is your almost priority in life. I worry for

  835. your family situation, because maturity will tell you that you

  836. need to do the right thing.

  837. Amen.

  838. We all understand this role best when it comes to

  839. being a parent, because we will either have one or

  840. we are one. It's a dying to self sometimes, and

  841. it's also to learn to not be selfish. Really one

  842. of the toughest things a parent can do. When you

  843. go extra money, do what It's no longer about me,

  844. but Matthew ten seven, it says, and as you go preach, saying,

  845. the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, heal the sick,

  846. cleanse the lepers, raise the date and cast out demons freely.

  847. You have received, freely give this one scripture is a

  848. scripture that I keep close to my heart. I've had

  849. people ask me this question before, oh Basse Alvin. You

  850. know what, someone asked me this question before passmen. Why

  851. do you why passion by young people? Why do you

  852. spend time talking to people?

  853. Why why do you do what you do?

  854. Okay, in ministry and all, well, I got one simple answer.

  855. Freely as I have received, I freely gave. As I

  856. have freely received. All the stuff that I gave is

  857. stuff that I've received from people that have cared for me,

  858. people that have taken care of me, people that have

  859. you know, coached me and helped me through tough times,

  860. people that have helped me mature. Of course I had

  861. to be willing, you know. I didn't not fight with them.

  862. Sometimes got a fighter. Not all the time, maybe five

  863. percent of the time fight thing, But ninety five percent

  864. of the time I just followed. You know, sometimes when

  865. I think inside, but I still follow, you know, Decyper Shap.

  866. But I've gained so much. I've gained so much. I've

  867. grown so much. But for those of us here, my

  868. encouragement is as you have freely received, freely give. If

  869. you have received love in this place, give love. If

  870. someone took their time to spend time with you and

  871. encourage you, why don't you do it for someone else?

  872. If someone cared for you, why don't you do it

  873. for someone else? Amen?

  874. Right, let's care for one another. Let's start here first.

  875. Let's not even think about another place. You know, do

  876. that and then you'll see yourself matured and then you Well,

  877. my only caution is that hurt people hurt people.

  878. You know that.

  879. So if the person you're helping is hurting, the person

  880. will hurt you. That's why Jesus say how many times

  881. you do you forgive your brother? Not seven times, for

  882. seventy seven times, cause God knows right. And as you

  883. freely give, Yes, there'll be people who hurt you. What

  884. is so nice to me? A nice to Soaknamara. He's

  885. not personal. We're just doing what the Bible ask us

  886. to do. And I'll end with if this scripture in

  887. second Timothy to one to seven, you guys, okay, I

  888. hope you guys learn catching something today. Well, I think

  889. more importantly beyond catching, I hope after today you will

  890. resolve in your heart to firstly mature in Christ, and

  891. then you will ask God, God, what is the area

  892. of my life that I need to mature in or

  893. what is that one thing that I need to do

  894. now that will help me move forward? And continue to

  895. have that thought process try to set. I know there

  896. could be a lot of past herds perceptions that you have.

  897. Words that you hear from other people here say you know,

  898. I know, I know.

  899. I know, I know. You know misconceptions.

  900. So sometimes the thing about misconception is you don't know

  901. what it is misconception or not because to you it's true.

  902. But I will say, verify the truth. Verify the truth,

  903. test and see that the Lord is good.

  904. You'll catch that.

  905. We've got to test the scriptures, you know, to see

  906. where they work. And the more we test the scriptures

  907. and the more it works in our life, the more

  908. confidence we have all it. That's how you navi get

  909. the Bible. Test God, you say, can heal the sick

  910. with this? Let me pray test it and it happened.

  911. Oh my goodness, confirm you always pray for the sick.

  912. So you got to test. Don't just take lockstop barrel,

  913. I say no, test it. I'm sharing about decibership, I'm

  914. sharing about maturing. You test it, you test it, and

  915. once you see that it's good. Once you see that

  916. as work, apply in your life. Take it as something

  917. that you can you know, because once it's part of you. Friends,

  918. Oh my goodness, you're going to be a powerhouse. Oh

  919. my goodness, your life is going to change because you're

  920. going to be able to impact other people. Amen, let's

  921. end with this scripture.

  922. Then have it up.

  923. Yeah, you therefore, my strong, my son, be strong in

  924. the grace that is in Christ, Jesus and the things

  925. that you have heard from me among many witnesses. Commit

  926. this to faithful men who be able to teach others. Also, friends,

  927. how many of you here this morning are going to

  928. be the faithful men and women that will not just

  929. apply this but teach it to someone else. You therefore,

  930. must end your hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

  931. Hardship in what area? Well, when people hurt.

  932. You, when you feel like giving up, right, when you're tired,

  933. when you are burned out, that's the word people like

  934. to use, and you're overcome. No one engaged in warfare

  935. and taggers himself with the affairs of this life, that

  936. he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

  937. And also, if anyone competes in athletics, he's not crowned

  938. unless he competes according to the rules. The hard working

  939. farmer must be first to partake off the crops. Consider

  940. what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding

  941. in all things. So friends, like what Paul said, Timothy,

  942. be strong in the grace. Yes, as we mature, as

  943. we grow, there will be a time of testing, right,

  944. But growth is good. Growth is good, maturity is good.

  945. If you look at your life and you're still the

  946. same in the same place for the past five years,

  947. I think it's time to move forward. It's time to

  948. make decisions that will cause you to move forward. And

  949. is it going to be easy. No, it's not gonna

  950. be easy. That's how you have to end all. But

  951. when you endy all, and when you see God move

  952. in your life, oh, I tell you, it'll be a

  953. different perspective.

  954. It'll be a way different perspective.
