  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. The disciples that cover cover Yeah, I know that's not

  4. an English word, okay, And we're gonna dwell a little

  5. bit into what that means. And so you know, if

  6. you've been in church around long enough, so when you're

  7. going through situations of turmoil or situations that is overwhelming

  8. or stressful, or you're feeling like, oh, I don't know

  9. what else to do? Right, what is the usual comfort

  10. verse that you will go to?

  11. Come on, I need to hear from you, right. What

  12. is it? Romance eighteen eight? Which is.

  13. Okay? So I know in all things that God is

  14. working out for the good of those who love me. Yeah,

  15. what a great verse to hold onto? Any other verses?

  16. What else do you hold onto in times of distress?

  17. And you know when you're feeling like, ah, I'm so tired,

  18. I'm so excited, you know, you know, when you're so

  19. tired you just want to not do anything at all.

  20. Yesterday I was like that. I don't know why.

  21. I think it's been because of the weeks and weeks

  22. of just running and running. Yesterday I just we my

  23. my homes were scheduled for the community outreached, so we

  24. went for it and came back.

  25. I wanted to do a household, but I couldn't. I

  26. just lay down. I'm like, I can't move it.

  27. I just feel like so drained out, you know what

  28. I'm saying, Like so flat out, like your battery, totally flat.

  29. I haven't felt that for a while, but yesterday.

  30. I just felt that. I was like, oh, I cannot

  31. get up at all?

  32. So yeah, what what else do you hang on to

  33. in moments like that?

  34. Come on?

  35. Tell me, tell me what do y'all do in those

  36. kind of moments? What verses come to your mind? What

  37. promises of God do you hold on too?

  38. Which is wow? Okay?

  39. So for Passel means see eph as the Kingdom of God,

  40. and all this shall be added to you. Anything else

  41. when you're really tired? What is the verse that we

  42. always like.

  43. To say, which is.

  44. Come to me all of you who are weary and havy,

  45. But then right and I will give you wrass.

  46. I love that verse.

  47. Another verse that would I received when I was going

  48. to a rad tough time is Isaiah forty Do you

  49. know that? Isah forty thirty one? What does it say,

  50. come to no, not come to me? What is Isiah

  51. forty thirty one? Anyone can tell me? I'm not not

  52. sure of the verse? Okay, So Isiah forty thirty one

  53. is one that we all know. But those who trust

  54. in the lot shall renew their strength, right, those who

  55. weighed upon the lot? Is the other verse that you're

  56. not right? Those who weighed upon the lot shall renew

  57. their strength. They shall run and not be weary, they

  58. shall walk.

  59. And not fame. Yes, have you heard of this? Okay?

  60. So that's the familiar, and that's the one that I

  61. want to focus on this morning as we go there.

  62. So okay, so let's go to Isaiah, the Book of Isaiah.

  63. All right, Let's read the verse again, Isaiah forty thirty one.

  64. It should be on one.

  65. Of the slides.

  66. I think if XDV can help me with that, Ah Isaiah,

  67. not this one, Isaiah forty.

  68. The thirty one? Is it there before this? Before this?

  69. Not so far yet?

  70. Isaiah forty thirty one? Okay, let them never mind. You

  71. have your Bibles, right, okay, So so let's read Isaiah

  72. forty I have the NLT version, and he says this,

  73. but those who trust in the lot were in new

  74. will find new strength. They will so high on wings

  75. like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They

  76. will walk and not faint. Okay, now there's this word

  77. and a description there hold eagles. They will saw on

  78. wings like eagles. What is the image that you have

  79. when you think of an eagle? Ah?

  80. There you go. Okay.

  81. So those who wait on the lot shall renew that straight.

  82. They will mount with wings like eagle. They shall run

  83. and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

  84. What what can you think of when you think of

  85. when you imagine an ego? What comes to your mind?

  86. Flying over mountains? What else? Strong? Yeah? Definitely, I would

  87. say the image of strong comes to mind? What else?

  88. What else? Eagles?

  89. Do you know what an egle is?

  90. I check first? I checked first.

  91. Okay, So so imagine an eagle sorring on you know,

  92. wings of eagle.

  93. What does it mean?

  94. This is what God is saying to those who wait

  95. on the lot. Right, they shall renew that straight They

  96. will mind with wings like ego. So it depicts a

  97. picture of strength. Right, How many of you want to

  98. have this kind of ego like strength? Yeah? I think

  99. all of us want to have this you know, this strength,

  100. this internal strength, right, it's not just an external strength,

  101. it's an internal strength. So for those of you who

  102. don't want to who didn't raise your hands if you

  103. don't want to be eagles, right, and you'll be like this.

  104. So do you want to be a chicken? Nor you

  105. want to be an ego? Ego?

  106. Don't be like this chicken.

  107. Okay. So yeah, I just brought this to wake your up.

  108. Blah hofway sleeping ready right, so cute, Okay, don't be

  109. a chicken. We want both our birds also, by the way, right,

  110. it's just that I say, I think God wants to

  111. give us something more. Yeah, amen, God wants to give

  112. us something And there's the secret to this.

  113. Okay.

  114. So but do you know that this strength, this walking

  115. and not fainting, running and not weary thing? You know,

  116. we need to move on in life, right, no matter

  117. what things crushes us, whatever news that comes to you,

  118. whatever crisis you're facing right now, there.

  119. Is still tomorrow.

  120. So there's still a need for us to walk our life.

  121. There's still a need for us to run the race

  122. that is set up before us.

  123. Right, But how do we do it? When we are

  124. so tired. How do we do it when.

  125. We are just like, oh, I've got no more energy.

  126. I want us to go to just a verse above it,

  127. all right, let's go to verse twenty nine. Okay, twenty

  128. nine and thirty all right, So I'm gonna read it

  129. says the Word of God says he gives power to

  130. the weak and strength to the powerless.

  131. Amen.

  132. God gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

  133. Even youth will become tired and weak, and young men

  134. will fall in exhaustion.

  135. Do you see that even young mentioned utterly?

  136. For so this kind of strength that God is promising

  137. us is not dependent on your age, because I know

  138. many of you are still very young here, but you

  139. feel very old. Right, Oh, I see a great, not

  140. a beautiful agreement from.

  141. All our young people.

  142. You know, they're like, yeah, I'm very dial, especially our

  143. young parents. Right. You feel that you're young, but why

  144. you don't know where your energy goes to? Right? And

  145. God's would say, this kind of strength is not because

  146. you're young. It's not because you're beautiful, we think, or

  147. young people got a lot of energy, or people don't

  148. have really, right, But God is not talking about this

  149. kind of energy physically. He's talking about an emotional mental state,

  150. and it's often linked to our spiritual state. The reason

  151. why we are heavy is because there's something that weighs

  152. us down, right, and it's an internal thing which you

  153. cannot see. You can carry like a thank you little

  154. rock on your back and walk walk around all day long,

  155. and once you release that, it's done. But this internal heaviness,

  156. you don't know how to let go, You don't know

  157. where to let go, you don't even know it's there.

  158. It just weighs you down, all right. So we recognize

  159. that there is this part of us that we you know,

  160. we we carry with us. Now, I want to give

  161. to you an introduction to the Book of Isaiah. How

  162. many of you have read through the Book of Isaiah before.

  163. It's in the Old Testament. It's one of the major prophets.

  164. It's the first prophet that you will encounter as you

  165. read the Old Testament. Now, something very beautiful about the

  166. Book of Isaiah is this. Now, do you know Isaiah

  167. has sixty six chapters?

  168. Does that ring a bell to you? What does it

  169. tell you?

  170. What else is sixty six the books of the Bible?

  171. Right?

  172. So if you count all the books of the Bible,

  173. there is sixty six books. Now, interestingly, the person who

  174. put in the chapters and verses in the Book of

  175. Isaiah they divided into two sections. Section one is twenty

  176. seven chapters, one theme, and then the next chapter is

  177. the first one is thirty nine chapters, and the second

  178. theme is twenty seven chapters.

  179. Again, what does that remind you of?

  180. All?

  181. And New Testament?

  182. Right?

  183. So, okay, very interestingly.

  184. Now, the thing is, when you read the first thirty

  185. nine chapters, it talks about Israel. It talks about the

  186. doom and gloom and the destruction and the fall of

  187. Israel thirty nine chapters, and then right after that it

  188. moves into hope for the future. Do you know that

  189. the Book of Isaiah is like that? And so what

  190. happens is if you squeeze the entire Bible into a miniature,

  191. what you get is Isaiah. Yeah, so if you never

  192. read any part of the Bible before, I would encourage

  193. you to pick up the Book of Isaiah, if you

  194. read chapters one to sixty six, you will actually get

  195. the entire picture of the Bible. So cool, right, it's

  196. really really cool to know that this is you know,

  197. a Bible in miniature on Isaiah. And there are many

  198. things that we don't know about Isaiah, probably the one

  199. that I got to you just now, those who wait

  200. upon the lot you know that that's the one that

  201. we all are familiar with. Right. But I have a

  202. slide that says, there's a lot more about Isaiah that

  203. we quote, but we.

  204. Didn't know it's from there. Do we have a slight

  205. with that?

  206. Let me see if they can find it. It's the

  207. one with the prophet picture in the middle, Kenna. Ah,

  208. there you go. Okay, so let's read the first part

  209. on the Oh, this is is not Isaiah forty let's

  210. go before that, before.

  211. Before some more. Okay, yes, what's after this?

  212. Ah?

  213. Okay, thank you very much.

  214. All right. Do you know this verse for unto Okay,

  215. let's read these together? Are three two one for unto us,

  216. A child is born, and the government shall be upon

  217. his shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful counselor Mighty God,

  218. the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

  219. Okay, you are familiar with this verse.

  220. We always hear it during Christmas, right, And so this

  221. is taken from the Book of Isaiah.

  222. The next slid.

  223. Right, there's these other phrases that we always hear, and

  224. we always think that it's from the New Testament. But

  225. you know, things like grieving the Holy Spirit, phrases like

  226. Jesus will wipe away all tears. You think he's in revelation, right,

  227. a voice crying in the wilderness. Have you read or

  228. think about it? You shall be my witnesses. And actually

  229. she's very big on this. You shall be my witnesses

  230. to the ends of the earth. Right. We always read

  231. about it in the Gospels, and every niche, all bow

  232. and everything confess that he is Lord. Right, And we

  233. think that it's from Philippines. But do you know that

  234. this is all from Isaiah. This is all from the

  235. second part of Isaiah that talks about the future, hope

  236. and the coming of our Lord Jesus.

  237. Right. And do you know why I love the Book

  238. of Isaiah.

  239. It's because Jesus himself and Paul quoted most from the

  240. Book of Isaiah. Do you know that Jesus also had

  241. a Bible, but he didn't have the New Testament. It

  242. was being written as he spoke. But when Jesus had

  243. his Bible, it was the Old Testament, and he often

  244. read and quoted from.

  245. The Book of Isaiah. So this Book of Isaiah is

  246. really really powerful, right, And.

  247. It's not just the book, it's the man, the man,

  248. the prophet Isaiah. Okay, so just a little bit about

  249. Isaiah to you. Let's move on to the next light.

  250. What's after this? Okay?

  251. So we talk about this right that he gives power

  252. to the weak, and those who have no might he

  253. increase his strength. Even the youths shall feign and be weary,

  254. and the young man.

  255. Shall utterlyast fall.

  256. So we establish that this weakness that we have right

  257. is not because of your bigger or vitality as a

  258. young person, but it's something else. And the secret is

  259. in this right. But those who wait on the Lord? Yes, okay,

  260. you want to renew or strength, right, and you're asking

  261. me how how do I get out a bit? How

  262. do I even think right now as I'm going through

  263. this situation, bad news, whatever it is? The secret is

  264. this those who wait on the Lord? How do we

  265. wait on the Lord? Can you give me some idea

  266. because this whole I waiting on the lot seems quite abstract, right.

  267. So let's give it a bit of flesh is waiting

  268. on the lot? Mean to you tell me.

  269. Praying?

  270. Praying? Praying? Okay, pray is one form of waiting on

  271. the lot. What else.

  272. Trusting in the Lord?

  273. Okay? Building character? Okay?

  274. Again, still quite abstract, right, because okay.

  275. Let me tell you this.

  276. It means that when I walk out the door after this, right,

  277. and then you remember Elder Roll saying wait on the Lord?

  278. Then what do I do? Okay, pray is one thing

  279. I can actually do.

  280. Pray? How do I.

  281. Trust in the Lord?

  282. Do nothing?

  283. Okay? So the idea of waiting, right is I just

  284. sit down and do nothing. I wait, Hey, Elder Roll

  285. saying wait on the lot. More so wait means do nothing.

  286. I just sit down and say. Okay, I must trust

  287. in the Lord. I must trust in the lot.

  288. And then, Josie is I must build character sitting down there?

  289. How do I build correct when I'm sitting down? Oh?

  290. Meditate? Okay to it? Adding flesh to it?

  291. Right?

  292. Meditate? What do you meditate on.

  293. The Word of God? Correct? Exactly, So we want to

  294. be able to make sure that it's applicable. When we

  295. say wait on the Lord, it doesn't mean I sit

  296. down there across my arms and do nothing.

  297. You know that is not the idea of waiting on

  298. the Lord.

  299. Now.

  300. So this this idea.

  301. Of waiting, if you see the next picture, it comes

  302. from this word cover. So that's what I say is

  303. the disciples that cover. Are you someone who knows how

  304. to wait on the Lord?

  305. Are you tired?

  306. Are you weak?

  307. Then the secret is in waiting upon the Lord.

  308. Now, the waiting it comes from this word cover, right

  309. to cover, to cover means to wait. Other translations says

  310. to hope, to trust in the Lord. Okay, to cover now,

  311. cover you can see that. Actually it comes from a

  312. root word called cove. Right and cover when you're waiting

  313. means right.

  314. Do you know that? When let me give you another illustration. Okay,

  315. do you see what is this? It's a rope, right,

  316. and and our life sometimes right.

  317. It feels that we are so stretched.

  318. Do you know what I'm saying?

  319. You are so stretched that there's demands from family, there's

  320. demands from work, and you're bas being stretched. And what

  321. happens when there's too much tension to something like this,

  322. It snaps.

  323. You snap, I snap.

  324. We become people that we don't want to be because

  325. we snap, right and So to cover means to wait

  326. in expectation that this tension will be released. You one, right,

  327. when you're you're you're so tense, right, You're like.

  328. I just want to release.

  329. I want to be released from everything that's pulling me,

  330. the demands of life, the crisis, the challenges, our education system,

  331. are you, a political system, economic system? Everything stretches us.

  332. Right to cover, right to wait. And it's not waiting

  333. for something to change. It's not waiting to say the

  334. government will change. Sometimes you say government change, everything changes, right,

  335. But this to cover means I'm waiting upon the Lord.

  336. I'm waiting for him. I'm not waiting for things to change.

  337. Do you see that now? Many times? The other illustration

  338. that I can give you right is when you feel like.

  339. You are down in a pit.

  340. Yeah, you feel overwhelmed, like you're in a duckt pit.

  341. You do you know what I mean?

  342. If you go down to your duk pit and you're alone,

  343. it's all dark around you. Sometimes you feel like that

  344. you're alone, you don't know any way out. Okay, now

  345. I'm gonna ask for someone's help. Maybe passa Elvin can

  346. help me with this illustration. So Pascelvin you're gonna stand here.

  347. Can you come out on stage please? And he's gonna

  348. be the holder of the rope okay, And I'm.

  349. Gonna go down here. Seven can stand here? Okay?

  350. So to cover right, is the cove word is the

  351. rope or the cord. And sometimes when we are down

  352. in a pit. So imagine I'm down in a dig

  353. dark pit, right, I'm feeling overwhelmed.

  354. I'm lost.

  355. I don't know what to do with my life anymore. Okay,

  356. And can we give a bit of tention to this?

  357. So I'm holding on. I'm holding on to the edge

  358. of the rope. This is my source of hope. Okay,

  359. this is my way out. There's tension, right, And how

  360. many of you know that when you hold on to this?

  361. How long can you hold on if you're letting? You're

  362. down in a pit, right and you're holding on to

  363. this source of strength with one hand? How long can

  364. you stay like that with one arm? Two minutes? Hellong

  365. holdng one minute? No upper body straining? Right? Okay, after this,

  366. all of you go and do body string training a

  367. little bit. Okay, do you know that holding on to

  368. this it feels like you can't hold on for long.

  369. And sometimes that's why in our work as Christians, it's

  370. so easy to let go.

  371. Right.

  372. It's not that the hope is not there. Can I

  373. tell you that the hope is there, the lifeline is there.

  374. God's promises are there. But on our own, when we

  375. hold on just with our own strength, it's so easy

  376. to let go. Correct, It's so easy for us to

  377. get tired. Two minutes. Some of you say, one minute,

  378. let go already, because we on our own already tired.

  379. One I'm already down in the pit. So you ask

  380. me to hold on and pull myself up. Sometimes we

  381. say that, right, hey, Christians, come on.

  382. Black up blah.

  383. You know, find hope yourself in the Lord and hoist

  384. your yourself up out of the pit.

  385. Do you know that it's gonna be impossible? Impossible?

  386. Right? And So what I discovered about this whole cover

  387. as you're waiting on the lot, right. So another way

  388. to think about it is you don't just hang on

  389. to this rope with your own strength. What the idea

  390. of it, right is you're binding yourself together with the rope.

  391. So what means what it means is I'm going to

  392. start to bind myself with the rope. And do you

  393. know that the more I do this, Okay, the more

  394. I cover and bind myself with the rope, do I

  395. still need a lot of my arm strength? Because the

  396. more I'm bound in this way, what you will see is.

  397. Are you seeing more of the world now less of me?

  398. More of Christ? Less of me? And can I tell

  399. you this is not an overnight process. This is a

  400. day by day process that the more I cover, I

  401. bind myself to the word of God, to the promises

  402. of God, to prayer, that you will begin to see

  403. less of me and you begin to see more of God.

  404. And do you know that how many times I bind

  405. myself to the Lord is how strong this bind is?

  406. Do you know that it says the court of tree

  407. four cannot be easily broken? Right? And the more I

  408. bind myself with the Lord, the more I find it

  409. that it's hard to break free from the Lord in

  410. a good way. And the more I'm hiding myself in

  411. the law. And what people can look at me? Now, Oh,

  412. you're going through this channel. You're done in the pit, right,

  413. But it looks like you're covered. It looks like you're

  414. covered by God's grace, God's mercy. How come you you

  415. can still sleep at night, Hona? How Come you can

  416. still have a smile on your face? How come they're

  417. still join you? Because I've learned to bind myself with

  418. the one.

  419. Who gives me strength.

  420. Amen?

  421. Amen? All right, thank.

  422. You, thank you for saying we can't give him a

  423. round flaws. Okay, he is representative of Jesus Christ. Okay,

  424. And that's true in many sense. Can you can you

  425. see now what it means to wait upon the Lord,

  426. that you are binding yourself. And the more you bind

  427. and wound yourself closely together with the Lord, then it

  428. doesn't matter anymore what the kind of tension, what kind

  429. of stress you might be going through, rule, Because as

  430. you bind yourself with the Word and the Truth, and you,

  431. you and the Word and the Lord become one. Do

  432. you see that? And when you become one with the Lord,

  433. you will with those who wait upon the Lord shall

  434. renew their strength.

  435. Do you see that now?

  436. Can you see how it's not just a It's not

  437. just I sit down and do nothing. I need to

  438. actively bind myself with the Lord. It's an active thing,

  439. you know, It's an active decision that you and I make.

  440. How can some Christians be stronger than others. It depends

  441. on what they do on a daily basis. It depends

  442. on how closer they walk with Christ. It depends on

  443. how much stronger they wind. You know, they wrap their

  444. entire lives around God's word, his promises, his people, his church,

  445. his service. Every time you do that, every time you

  446. come for a service, you're making.

  447. One more look around yourself.

  448. Do you know that every time you open the Word

  449. of God in the morning, you're just wrapping yourself one

  450. more time.

  451. With the Lord.

  452. Every time you sing praises and worship and you pray

  453. with your children at night, you are teaching them how

  454. to bind themselves with the word of God. Amen. And

  455. do you see now how this is the very act

  456. that gives us strength. It's the binding the years of

  457. meditating on God's word, singing his promisses, believing in him,

  458. having faith. Do you know because it says right, we

  459. are in the church, and this church is selling nothing

  460. to you except Jesus Christ, and He is our hope.

  461. Do you know that when you're down in the pit,

  462. all you want is hope, right, hope of being rescued,

  463. hope of salvation, hope of saying I'm gonna get out

  464. of this pit. And I can tell you that in

  465. Christ Jesus, you will get out.

  466. Of the pit. Amen.

  467. Hello, Amen. Because God is our savior and he wants

  468. to get us out of our pit. He wants us

  469. to be able to hang on to him, not by

  470. our own arms one hand, so easily to let go, right,

  471. so easy to let go of God on our own strength.

  472. But as we wrap ourselves with the Lord, with his word,

  473. with his promises, He's going to be the one that

  474. help us get out of the pit. Because after that

  475. it's easy to pull up.

  476. Right.

  477. God is constantly pulling you up.

  478. You know. It's just that many times we let go,

  479. We let go because we don't have enough strength. But

  480. if you wind yourself up, God is constantly pulling us up.

  481. He lives us up. That's the God that we serve. Amen.

  482. Now, how do we do this right?

  483. Because? Right? Okay, it says in Hebrews eleven one and

  484. I have a slight for this. Faith is the substance

  485. of things hope for and the evidence of.

  486. Things not sin. Can you see your future yet?

  487. Anyone?

  488. Can you see your future?

  489. None of us cannot see our future. But it doesn't

  490. matter whether you can see your future or not. We

  491. know that our God knows the future. Amen, he al

  492. really knows what happened. He knows what's gonna happen today,

  493. and he knows what's exactly gonna happen tomorrow, next year,

  494. ten years down the road. God knows it. Oh, he's

  495. all knowing, all powerful. But the thing why we feel

  496. stuck inside is because we often forget.

  497. And the antidote to.

  498. Forgetfulness What is the antidote to forgetfulness? Two? To repeat

  499. to remember? And so let's go to the following verses.

  500. Let's go up a little bit more. Okay, so we

  501. want to remember remember, all right, So let's read from

  502. versus ten to twenty seven.

  503. Okay, I'm gonna read.

  504. A big chunk, are you Okay, don't be a chicken.

  505. Weke got all of you, all right, Let's read the

  506. word I've got from verse ten on verse okay, chapter forty,

  507. verse ten, he says this, Yes, this is how we remember. Okay,

  508. let's remember who God is. Okay, if you have forgotten,

  509. let me remind you what God's would say about who

  510. our God is. He says that, yes, the sovereign Lord

  511. is coming in power.

  512. He will rule with a powerful arm.

  513. Amen. Our God is so powerful. See, he brings his

  514. reward with him as he comes. Wow, God comes and

  515. he's gonna bring a reward. That's the God that we serve.

  516. Verse eleven. He will feed his flock like a shepherd.

  517. He will carry the lambs in his arm. This is

  518. very comforting. God wants to carry us out and lift

  519. us up, holding them close to his heart. He will

  520. gently lead the mother sheep with their young. Who else

  521. has held the oceans in his hand?

  522. Anyone recently?

  523. Do you? If you've gone to the seaside, have you

  524. hold or tried holding the ocean or the water in

  525. your arms? Canna maybe for two seconds? Right? Who has

  526. measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows

  527. the weight of the earth? I think we only know

  528. our own weight, right, and the weight of our spouse.

  529. But the weight of the earth? Mmmm? Who has weighed

  530. the mountains and heels on a scale? Think about God?

  531. How big God is? Who is able to advise the

  532. spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him

  533. advice or teach him? Has the Lord ever needed anyone's advice?

  534. Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone

  535. teach what is right or show him the path of justice? No,

  536. For all the nations of the world are but a

  537. drop in the bucket. Malaysia a drop in the bucket,

  538. big country, us China.

  539. To the Lord, it is a drop in the bucket.

  540. They are nothing more than us on the scales, He

  541. picks up the whole earth as though it were a

  542. grain of sand. All the wood in Lebanon's forests and

  543. all Labanance animals could not be enough to make a

  544. burn offering worthy of our God. The nations of the

  545. world are worth nothing to him. In his eyes. They

  546. count for less than nothing, mere emptiness and froth. What

  547. is the biggest thing that you can think of right now?

  548. I don't know, bitcoin Ai, What is big enough in

  549. your eyes? He says there it is nothing in the

  550. Lord's eyes, mere emptiness and froth?

  551. Verse eighteen.

  552. To whom can you compare God? Church? What image can

  553. you find to resemble him? What is the image of God?

  554. Is he so small in your eyes? Can he be

  555. compared to an idol form in a mole? There are

  556. some pictures of an idol overlaid with gold and decorated

  557. with silver chains.

  558. Is he confined to that?

  559. Or if people are too poor for that, they might

  560. at least choose wood that won't decay and a skilled

  561. craftsman to carve an image that won't fall down?

  562. What kind of image do we have of God?

  563. Verse twenty one. This is a reminder to us Church

  564. heaven you heard, don't you understand? Are you deaf to

  565. the words of God, the words he gave before the

  566. world began?

  567. Are you so ignorant?

  568. God sits above the circle of the earth. The people

  569. below seem like grasshoppers to him. He spreads up the

  570. heavens like a curtain and make his ten from them.

  571. He judges the great people of the world and brings

  572. them all to nothing.

  573. Who do you think is the great powers?

  574. Next? Next two weeks we have the US and Summit, Right,

  575. the world powers are gonna come from the US from China.

  576. And you're like, ooh, okay, close down the whole of

  577. kl for them. But God judges all of them, all

  578. the great people of the world, brings them to nothing.

  579. Do you know that God can in this instant remove anyone?

  580. You think?

  581. Whoever the greatest person lie, the richest man on earth.

  582. In a split second, he can bring them down verse

  583. twenty four. They hardly get started, barely taking root when

  584. he blows on them, and they wither. The wind carries

  585. them off like tough Verse twenty five. To whom will

  586. you compare me? God is asking, He's challenging us, ex Church,

  587. He says, who are you going to compare me with?

  588. Who is my equals? Says the Holy One? Look up

  589. into the heavens? Who created all the stars? Have you

  590. recently seen the stars? Did you try to count them?

  591. Name one of them?

  592. Don't try? Okay?

  593. Because he says, He brings them out like an army,

  594. one after another, calling each by name. Okay, So don't

  595. bother nameing the stars can or not? Because God has

  596. named them because of His great power and incomparable strength.

  597. Not a single one is missing, not a single star.

  598. We haven't discovered ninety percent of them. God remembers every

  599. single one of them. Oh Jacob, how can you say

  600. that the Lord does not see your troubles? Oh Israel?

  601. How can you say God ignores your rights? Do you

  602. know that God, the writer is trying to tell us.

  603. Isaiah is trying to tell us when you think about

  604. the greatness of who God is, and we forget you know,

  605. do you know in the times when we're in our pit,

  606. all we see is our pit, and we forget that

  607. we serve a great, living, all powerful, all mighty God

  608. who created everything. And that gives me a sense of security.

  609. It gives me a sense of assurance knowing that, hey, God,

  610. you created everything. You know I'm here right then maybe

  611. there's a reason. I don't know what that reason is.

  612. Maybe this is where it comes to the Joe's part

  613. of building character, right, Being in the pit can cause

  614. you to either break down.

  615. Or become stronger. Do you know that?

  616. I know pits are probably the worst thing you want

  617. and you want to go through. But there are moments,

  618. the pit moments in our lives that God allows us

  619. to go through. It's because He wants us to do

  620. something many For many of us, He wants us to

  621. learn how to cling on tightly to him. You know,

  622. even more when you can when everything else is shaken.

  623. Can I tell you that the whole world will be

  624. shaken when Jesus comes back? And that is the truth.

  625. Everything that you know, whatever you put your security in,

  626. it will be shaken. And God will shake it so bad?

  627. Do you know that there's a tornado in Klang? And know? Yeah?

  628. Tornado right never before you know? And when I heard it,

  629. I'm like, God, don't release your hand of protection over Malaysia,

  630. not yet, because many more still.

  631. Need to know you.

  632. And do you know that all the wild that Malaysia

  633. has been saved and protected is God's hand?

  634. God protected us?

  635. And so do you know that God, God is seeing everything?

  636. You know He's Do you think he's surprised that there

  637. is a tornado in Klang? I am surprised. He is

  638. not surprised. He's saying these are just warning signs. And

  639. he's kind and gentle enough to say, I'm giving you

  640. warning signs. Wake up, people, wake up, wake up, don't

  641. sit anymore in your seat, and don't just wait and

  642. do nothing because God is coming back.

  643. Amen.

  644. There is something for us to do. So when we

  645. are down there, all we do as we are waiting

  646. is to remember remember how faithful God has been in

  647. your life.

  648. Do you believe that God has been faithful in all

  649. your lives?

  650. When I reflect by how God has brought me and

  651. my family to where we are right now, I can

  652. just you know, just bow down and say, God, you

  653. have been good, because otherwise I wouldn't be standing here

  654. where I am right now. It is only because of

  655. God's faithfulness and goodness that we are still standing here today. Amen.

  656. And therefore we can still walk and not faint, run

  657. and not be weary. It's because of the Lord, not

  658. because of how great we are or how great the

  659. Elvan is. None of that. It is because of how

  660. great our God is. Amen. So let's continue to remember that.

  661. So as we remember this, he reminds us that he

  662. has not forgotten about us. Yes, that's what God's world says.

  663. He's like, you think I've forgotten about you. You think

  664. I've forgotten about you, Oh Israel or Jacob, oh ex Church. No,

  665. I have not, for a single time forgotten about you.

  666. I remember you because I created you. Do you know

  667. eight billion people and more that have passed. God remembers

  668. every single one, not a single one is lost in

  669. his memory. Amen. Now knowing this, after we remember this

  670. and we wait upon the Lord and we receive our strength,

  671. do you know that it's not just for us this strength?

  672. Can I tell you that?

  673. Can I tell you that the strain that you have

  674. is not just for yourself. Sometimes you know, we're like, okay,

  675. now my life some of you right right now, your

  676. life is like whoo, I met the high on my life.

  677. Everything is good in those moments. Remember that God gives

  678. you strength for a purpose. There is a purpose. Even

  679. when you're in the pit. When God gives you strength,

  680. there is a purpose. What is that purpose? Let's go

  681. up further. Let's go up further. What is the purpose? Right?

  682. And this is.

  683. What the Lord wants us to do. I'm gonna read

  684. from verse six onwards. Okay, so this should be our

  685. response as we meditate on God, as we think about

  686. his greatness and his goodness. This is the right response

  687. from us. Let's read from verse six onwards. He says

  688. a void says shout, huh shout. Okay, so what should

  689. we shout about? Let's see what he says. I asked

  690. what should I shout? So this is Isaiah saying, eh,

  691. shout that the people are like grass. So I'm gonna say, hey,

  692. you guys are like grass falling. I'm just following the

  693. words are don't stole me yet, okay, shot that the

  694. people are like grass, their beauty or you. I don't

  695. want to say is that their beauty faiths as quickly

  696. as the flowers in a field. Out Right, the grass withers,

  697. and the flowers faith beneath the breath.

  698. Of the Lord.

  699. And so it is with people. Do you know that

  700. our life is very short? It's a breath.

  701. And it's done. Verse eight.

  702. The grass withers and the flowers faith. But the word

  703. of our God stands forever. Amen. You and I can

  704. pass away, but God's words stands forever. So it means

  705. that whatever we read here it will stand forever. So

  706. Verse mine says this, Oh, Zion, and Zion reflects us.

  707. We are the church messenger of good news. How many

  708. of you know that you have the good news? Amen,

  709. we are the messenger of going to tell your neighbor.

  710. You are the messenger of good news. We are all

  711. messengers of the good news. Says Shout from the mountaintops.

  712. Shout from PJ.

  713. Life arts.

  714. Shout it louder, Oh Jerusalem, shout and do not be afraid.

  715. Tell the towns of PJ, your God is coming.

  716. WHOA how about that church?

  717. Come on, you're in PJ because you need to save PG.

  718. Tell the towns of PJ, your God is coming. Yes,

  719. the sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule

  720. with powerful arm. Amen.

  721. That is our response.

  722. Our response is when we have received strength, we are

  723. to shout. We are to tell others we are the

  724. messenger of the good news. The good news is God

  725. is coming back. Amen. He will come back with power,

  726. with sovereignty, and he will rule the world as it

  727. should be.

  728. You know right now there is like peace.

  729. In the Middle East, peace peace, But the real peace

  730. comes from Jesus himself. This peace, I don't know how

  731. long you will last, because it's men made peace. Right.

  732. How many of you know that men made stuff cannot

  733. last forever, nothing, no matter how Goodlah, everything also man made,

  734. there's a time limit to it. Nothing lasts forever except.

  735. The word of the Lord.

  736. He says that the word of the Lord stands forever.

  737. Amen. So I want to end with this.

  738. I want to end with this. And we come back

  739. again to the first few verses of chapter forty. Remember

  740. verse thirty nine, verses all about how you are being destroyed,

  741. how you are being oppressed. You know that the people

  742. of Israel at that time, and this is real, they

  743. were under the Babylonian oppression. So they were under oppression,

  744. and they were suffering. And when they were suffering, you know,

  745. when you're suffering, your mindset changes. You only look at

  746. the world through the of suffering. And when you look

  747. at the world to the lens of suffering, everything will

  748. be very bleak, right. You will become very bleak right.

  749. And so that's why it starts off with verse chapter forty.

  750. Isaiah comes into the sea right now and say, hey, guys,

  751. enough of that, enough of thirty nine chapters.

  752. Now chapter forty. I'm gonna bring to you this good news.

  753. And the good news is this. In verse one, it says, comfort,

  754. comfort my people. Amen, tell my people to be comforted,

  755. says your God, speak tenderly to Jerusalem. Tell her that

  756. her sad days are gone. Amen. Amen, Amen, do you

  757. know that your sat days are gone? In the Lord,

  758. Her sins are pardon, sins are pardon. Our set days

  759. are gone because the many transgressions that we've had against

  760. the Lord, Jesus Christ has come and he has paid

  761. it all. And therefore we have pardons for our sins. Yes,

  762. the Lord has punished her twice over for all us.

  763. Since the punishment has been done, Jesus paid the price listen.

  764. It is the voice of someone shouting. Clear the way

  765. through the wilderness for the Lord. Make a straight highway

  766. through the wasteland for our God. Fill in the valleys

  767. and level the mountains and hills, straighten the curves, and

  768. smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the

  769. Lord will be revealed, and all the people will see together.

  770. The Lord has spoken.

  771. Amen. Do you know what gives me hope? Is that

  772. the glory of the Lord will be revealed to all.

  773. It doesn't matter how you feel about it. It doesn't matter

  774. what you think, whether you believe in Jesus or not.

  775. It will happen. And I want us to close. As

  776. you meditate on the cross, what is your hope founded on?

  777. What are you holding on to church? Are you holding

  778. on to things that will be shaken? Are you holding

  779. on to financial security? Your EPF, your paycheck, the security

  780. of your job. Is that what you put your hope in?

  781. Are you putting hope in the economy? All these things,

  782. whatever thing that you think is secure right now, the

  783. best investment deal, it will be shaken. And the only

  784. thing that is unshakeable is the word of God. And

  785. it is the Lord himself and Jesus Christ. He is

  786. our hope. Amen, He's the very because right all the

  787. promises that we are looking forward to, what are the

  788. promises of God that you're looking forward to? Can you

  789. tell me, Church, when Jesus Christ comes back, what do

  790. you expect to see?

  791. Tell me? Tell me your hope? Please peace? Perselvin, say

  792. what kind of peace?

  793. World peace?

  794. I can guarante to you that internal peace.

  795. I can guarantee you that.

  796. What else? What else are you looking forward to? Do

  797. you know the word of God?

  798. What else are you hoping for?

  799. Tell me what your hopes are so that I know

  800. that it's in the right place.

  801. Restore relationships? Are their broken relationships in your life? And

  802. when Jesus comes back, he's like, I'm going to restore that.

  803. He doesn't have to do it. Then, he can do

  804. it now as we invite him in. Do you know

  805. that because God is present already here today you know

  806. the whole normal pain, no more sorrow, no more tears.

  807. I'm looking forward to that because right now as we

  808. see the world, you know, my heart breaks for the

  809. girl that was so wrongly taken off a life at

  810. such a young age. And you know I'm talking about

  811. the different ones who have lost their lives out Yeah,

  812. in the schools that we entrust our young people too.

  813. What is happening?

  814. And this is Malaysia, No, this is not us. If

  815. this happens there, you're like, Okay, maybe it's their culture,

  816. but this is happening right in our own backyard in

  817. bu So Near. You know, it breaks my heart. If

  818. it breaks my heart, how do you think it breaks

  819. God's heart? They are made in his image and the

  820. very people whom He loves is being destroyed by the

  821. other people whom he loves, whom he created. And this

  822. is the world. This is a sad world that we

  823. live in now, and so we need hope.

  824. Church.

  825. Did you agree that we need hope and the world

  826. needs home. And that's why we become the barerer of

  827. the good news. We tell others that there is this

  828. good news. Yes, this world is dying, this world is

  829. corrupt with sin, but Jesus comes back with the hope

  830. of renewing not just the world, He's coming with the

  831. hope of renewing us as well.

  832. Amen, we hope you've been.

  833. Blessed by this message. For more information on our church,
