You're listening to a message to go from at church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Look nineteen, he says. Here, then Jesus entered and passed
-
through Jerry Cole. Now, behold, there was a man named
-
Zachias who was a chief text collector, and he was rich,
-
and he sought to see who Jesus was, but could
-
not because of the crowd, for he was of short satchure. Okay,
-
the Bible is quite quite descriptive flaer Okay. Basically it's short. Okay,
-
he's short. Okay. Imagine you want to go to see Jesus, right,
-
everybody is there, and then he's like, he's too short
-
to see Jesus. So in the end, what happened? So
-
he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree
-
to see him, for he was going to pass that way. Yes,
-
you're wearing the same shirt that looks so good. The shit,
-
And when Jesus came, it's okay, we love kids here,
-
so it's fine, Okay, this is why we have family Sunday.
-
So if you're not comfortable with kids, I'm so sorry
-
for you because they are going to be with us. Okay,
-
And it's trying. Okay, cool, where was I Yeah, So
-
when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and
-
saw him and said to him, Zakiars, make hayste and
-
come down, for today I must stay at your house.
-
So he made hayes and came down and received him joyfully.
-
But when they saw it, they all complaint, saying he
-
has gone to be a guest with a man who
-
is a sinner. Then Zakiers stood and said to the Lord. Look, Lord,
-
I give half of my goods to the poor. And
-
if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation,
-
I restore four fall. And Jesus said to him, today's
-
salvation has come to this house because he also is
-
a son of Ibraham. For the son of Man has
-
come to seek and to save that which was lost. Okay,
-
we can learn a lot from this passage of scripture.
-
You know, it's not just a story, It really happened.
-
As believers, we believe that the Bible is a historical text. Right,
-
it's not just a history book, but it is a
-
The way it was written is for us to learn
-
your catch that it was written. And I know some
-
will say, oh I know it's written as a love letter.
-
I mean, it's very poetic to say that, but basically
-
it's written so that we understand who this guy named
-
Christ is, we understand how he thinks, and we, as
-
follows of Christ, should follow him. Correct. I'm establishing something
-
really clear here, right, So it's not just a rule book.
-
It's not just a nice story. You know, sometimes you
-
can read like Bible story be cose not related to us,
-
because we don't know what sycamore tree is. We don't
-
know what text collector is, you know, yeah, I know,
-
but but there's no text collectors here, Elija. Right, thanks
-
so much for responding to me. At least I know
-
someone's listening to the message. Yeah, we don't know all that,
-
and sometimes it's very difficult to imagine, but I want
-
to bring it to more local contexts, more our context
-
Imagine someone you really don't like. Okay, I've got some examples.
-
I don't want to use it here. Okay, not so nice, Okay,
-
but imagine you yourself. Imagine someone you don't like, someone
-
you really don't like, and and you have good, good
-
reason to not like the person because the person's not
-
a nice person. Maybe the person cheated you. Maybe the
-
person say borrow money but never return. This kind of person, Okay,
-
think about this kind of person and not just that.
-
Now this person very in Cantonese, you say, very young,
-
so cannot see you on the face? Short, right, short?
-
Don't like, not handsome at least handsome. Are you know,
-
still your money or saw you're like, Okay, it's okay,
-
I forgive you right, you know, but but but no,
-
this person is short, probably not very you know, you
-
know somethings they say, I know, they say, you know,
-
big things come in small packages. But if you're a
-
man and you're short most of the time, thank god,
-
no one here is short. Okay, if you're short, please
-
don't raise your hands. We do also know that sometimes
-
you will compensate with other things that by bigger car,
-
by a bigger house, So you compensate lot. Okay, compensate. Ah,
-
think of this person, this person that you really don't like,
-
and not just you don't like. Everybody else don't like
-
and everybody knows what the person does. The person's a scammer.
-
Maybe use the word scammer or now the last scammer.
-
I just saw a Facebook about how some I don't
-
know from where on this group they were. They save
-
this lady who was scam Unfortunately, you know a lot
-
of people now get scamed because our job right, So
-
please be carefuler, Please check the sauces. Please don't just
-
go and believe just because if it okay, Guys, can
-
I teach you something? Can I cannot? Can I teach
-
you something? Okay? If it's too good to be true
-
most of the time, if not all the time, it is,
-
y're your godad if it's too good to be true.
-
Especially Christians, though, you know why I worry for you
-
because when good things have a Christian now we emiliately say, oh,
-
thank the Lord, my God Almighty for this wonderful providence. Right,
-
and then after that they gain in trouble and then
-
they start asking God, God, why you put me in
-
this situation. Then I want to use cantonese, but I
-
think my wife will call me. You bring to yourself
-
and this kind of problem. Okay, So think of this person, scammer,
-
shot bad whatever, you don't like one, nobody likes the
-
boy is he here? Like? Yeah, this fellow is here?
-
Huh why is he here? Why is he in this party?
-
And then Jesus looks at this person who's a scammer,
-
who cheated everybody's money, who nobody likes, and he says,
-
come down, I must eat at your house today. How
-
you feel. Let's bring some context. If passed Elvin, Jesus
-
look pass it away and says, of course you're except
-
my because I passed my right. So Jesus be friendly
-
me right, No, not me? You are not the religious
-
leaders were not you all? How many leaders? You're right?
-
Jesus didn't look at you all. He look at this
-
camera guy that you don't like, that cheaty of your money,
-
and he say, Jesus said he must eat in his house,
-
not even your house. Of course his house is much
-
in cellar, tax collector and low money on. What will
-
you say? Wouldn't we look and say, ah, yeah, Jesus,
-
he's a sinner. How can you associate yourself with him?
-
Let's let's being closer, passa alvin. This person's a sinner.
-
How can you associate yourself with him? Let's change it
-
a little bit. Now, look at your neighbor. Tell your
-
neighbor he's a siner. How can you go to his
-
house and seleby his birthday. Look at the other neighbor.
-
How can you still be so nice to him? He
-
cheater you your money? Am I striking a card this morning?
-
And then immediately everybody talking ma, So the Camra suddenly
-
say hey, hey, hello guys. You know what I'm gonna
-
turn over new leave whatever I cheated, I will return
-
back all the money, whatever I did, I will. You
-
know how many of you will go show bo say nila,
-
no realan la you reraising many times they did? You already
-
repent many times a day? Right, we forgive you so
-
many times a D seven times a D seven times
-
seven times a D. We forgive you. That's right, And
-
ask your ture guys, But what Jesus say today? Salvation
-
has come to this house because he is also a
-
son of Abraham. You know why Jesus said that. Jesus
-
had to read behind them that this guy is your brother.
-
He's not gi gentle, he's not a Samaritan. He is
-
your brother. He's also a son of Abraham. And then
-
Jesus explains why he goes to his house to eat,
-
because he says, for the son of man has come
-
to seek and to say that which was lost? Can
-
I give you a statement that might shop you this morning, Cannona,
-
Jesus said He's come to sick and save the lost. Friends.
-
Can I ask you a simple question? Are you lost
-
this morning? Are you lost this morning? Or have you
-
found Christ? Think about it a little bit. Is he
-
a true question? For Slavin? We're all lost, right, we
-
all need Jesus. Yes, but Jesus didn't go, and he
-
didn't go to his disciples house, not to it. Only
-
you know he goes, and not just that. Now there's
-
not just one occurrence. The religious leaders really don't like
-
him because he always go hang out with the sinners.
-
He didn't hang out with the officials, He didn't hang
-
out with all the important people. He hang out. He
-
hang out with the sick, the sinners, the people that
-
nobody want to hang out with. Jesus went and hang
-
out with them. Let me give you another thought. Do
-
you know why Jesus didn't have to go hang out
-
with his disciples because his disciples were ready with him.
-
His disciples were already there with him, always with him,
-
walking with him, serving, making sure the crowd will touch him,
-
keeping the money going to vibraid, and then Jesus give
-
them problem like, Hey, let's treet five thousand people. Huh,
-
no budget, I only God, and then I go and
-
take a kid's lunch, five roose, two fish, the disciples
-
who are already their friends? Are you disciples of Christ this morning?
-
If you are, then shouldn't you be working with Christ
-
every single day? Do you still need to be handheld
-
on certain things? Do you still need it? Are we
-
still lost or have we been found? First question, we
-
got a thing about it, because if we are believers
-
for a long time, then we should be mature ready,
-
then we should be not Jesus. Why you never come
-
to my house while you go to this text like
-
this house, come to my house? Are Jesus? You know?
-
A person that says that, probably not walking in Jesus.
-
Your cash din. A person who worries more about that,
-
probably is not walking with Jesus. Because people that are
-
walking in Jesus don't need Jesus come to their house.
-
Cost there with Jesus all the time, your cash that sorry,
-
Let me address that first. Let me address us here first.
-
So are we do we only meet Jesus on a
-
Sunday or are we walking with Jesus every day? Think
-
about it? Think about it, because if you're not careful,
-
Jesus will only become a Sunday thing in our lives.
-
And that's why, that's why we get angry when Jesus
-
go and meet other people. We get angry when Jeus going. No,
-
it's Christ in your life all the time. If he
-
already is and you're already safe, then what should be
-
our focused friends? Let's read, or more like, I will
-
read and then your listener. Okay, I believe my storytelling
-
voice is not too bad. I'm going to read this story. Okay,
-
I'll try my best. On a dangerous sea coast where
-
shipwrecks often occurred, there was once a crude, little life
-
saving station. The building was just a heart, and there
-
was only one boat. But the few devoted members kept
-
a constant watch over the sea, and we've no thought
-
of themselves, went out day and night tirelessly searching for
-
the loss. Many lives were saved by this wonderful little station,
-
so that it became famous. Some of those who were saved,
-
and various others in the surrounding area wanted to become
-
associated with the station and give off their time and
-
money and effort for the support of his work. Makes sense, right,
-
make sense right. They're doing their best. You know, they
-
did what they knew, and other people that were saved
-
by them naturally want to help. New boats were bought,
-
a new crewise train. The little life Saving Station grew.
-
Some of the members of the Life Saving Station were
-
unhappy with the building that was so crude and poorly equipped.
-
They felt that a more comfortable place should be provided
-
as the first refuge of those say from the seat
-
sounds very correct, right, sounds sounds nice.
-
Right?
-
No, ma, how can you how can you say? People
-
in this hard You know it is so dirty and
-
so much bacteria. We should we should renovate this. Let's
-
pull some money to renovate this race. So they replaced
-
the emergency the emergency costs with bits and put better
-
furniture in the enlarged building. Passe Alvin. If we want
-
people to come to XPJ, we want to make it
-
a look nicer. Right, Let's get comfortable seats because the
-
seats were hot. Let's invest in more lighting and maybe
-
instead of a projector that's like that, let's put a
-
led screen. Ah, just got Alis three happening. You know
-
how much elis three? It costs not very expensive. Now,
-
the live saving station became a popular gathering place for
-
its members, so popular. Everybody know about XPJ. Everybody know.
-
Everybody know XPJS in Gion, Oh church and the theater.
-
So happening. And they decorated it beautifully and furnished it exquisitely.
-
Because they used it as a sort of a club,
-
fewer members were now interested in going to see on
-
life saving stations. I get the full time workers to
-
do it. Hey, Henry, you've got heart formations right, come,
-
I support. You are very busy, but you want to go.
-
You gola. You got God's call for your life, man,
-
You Gola. So they hired lifeboard crews to do this work.
-
The live saving motive was still prevailing. The club secreated
-
mass must say, guys, Jesus here to save the lost man.
-
So we must make sure it's in our logo. You
-
must make sure it's in our tech line. You must
-
make sure it is all these things, must wear shirt.
-
It was okay, save people. And there was a liturgical
-
lifeboard in the room where the club in nations were helped.
-
Shouldn't we do that right? I don't know whether EXPG
-
got any liturgical stuff or not. This place lie is
-
still liturgical to us. About this time, a large ship
-
was wrecked off the coast, and the higher crews brought
-
in boatloads of cold, wet and half round people. They
-
were dirty and sick, and some of them had black
-
skin and some had yellow skin. The beautiful new club
-
was in chaos. Oh my goodness. So the property committee
-
or property committee immediately had a shower house built outside
-
the club where victims of shipwreck could be cleaned up
-
before coming inside. After the next meeting, bought meeting, there
-
was a split in the club membership. Most of the
-
members wanted to stop the clubs living saving activities as
-
being unpleasant and the hindance to the normal social life
-
of the club. Why want to go missions missions all
-
the time? Right? We should fellowship in homes, you know,
-
homes very good, not outreach. Ma, Let's outreach by doing enrichment.
-
Let's continue to do that because we all feel good.
-
Some members insisted about life saving as their primary purpose
-
and pointed out they were still called life saving stations
-
and friends, remember what Jesus said, must go and seek disciples.
-
So we have different here. There are read passional, re
-
passionate about you know, evangelizing, red passionate, about missions, red passionate. Come, guys,
-
we need to do it, We need to do it.
-
But they were finally voted down and told if they
-
wanted to save the lives of all the various kinds
-
of people who were shipwrecked in those waters, they could
-
begin their own life saving station down the course, and
-
they did, all of a ud where busy La got
-
so much problem said, life is so hard, right, I've
-
got to think I have my family. Not wrong, guys,
-
not wrong. As the years went by, the new station
-
experienced the same changes that had occurred in the world.
-
History repeats itself. It evolved into a club, and yet
-
another life saving station is found that you will definitely
-
have people who are who sit passion on. History continued
-
to repeat itself, and if you visit that sea coast today,
-
you will find a number of exclusive clubs along that shore.
-
Shipwrecks are frequent in those waters, but unfortunately most people drown.
-
Of course, this is just a story, and I think
-
by now you roughly know that it sounds like church, right,
-
at least certain things in church. We read this story
-
In homes, my homes, we had homes. So our homes.
-
Just share a little bit about homes. I from, Hi,
-
my name is Elen King. I' from PJ eight homes
-
very far, very far. And we multiplied out of PJ three, right, okay,
-
PJ three we multiplied out of it, and we multiplied
-
out because we wanted to reach campus students, so we
-
we went out. Was I comfortable in the whole homes? Yes,
-
I was very comfortable. Every day get to it. No,
-
not every day, Okay, every Friday, can do it. Vonica's
-
cooking so nice? Then pasta ma, so just go, Nima,
-
don't have to do anything on once in a whe
-
appreciate me. You know, everyone doing everything course ready established it.
-
But last year I don't know why, well, I don't
-
know why. God God knows why I had the urge
-
to say no, we've got to do something. And being
-
a person, and we talk about five four ministry in
-
our church share right. We recognize each other's gift things
-
and one of my gift things apostolic. Okay, so you
-
know we can all sit still one la. Right, So
-
I say, hey, you know, and I talked to my
-
wife first life to get wife agreement. Hey, there, let's
-
call plan at homes, me, you, the kids. Right, let's emulate.
-
I know it's not going to be easy. I know
-
logistic is gonna be crazy, but let's try to do
-
it because we need to save people. So I extended
-
the invite to my homies, hoping, hoping that even those
-
that are in my care I'm discipling will follow me. An, okay,
-
maybe this family his family come then with family together,
-
they're not so crazy, right, but well, I will use
-
the word. But unfortunately it was just my family and
-
I family, the Chuang's family and Michelle and we went
-
out and then we did He's been eight months. Friends,
-
we have one Camber student coming. Only we believe that
-
God will use us to reach um because there were
-
a lot of signs that show us that you m
-
is the place, but only one Camber student and only
-
one recently we just added one more. Praise God. He's
-
not here today. He's an esk, but we thank God
-
for him. Why am I sharing this? So when I
-
was reading this in homes last Friday, and that's why
-
we meet Friday on an day because we got no homes,
-
we got no venue, because me and my wife we
-
don't stay here in PJ. We stay in Charalam. If
-
we stay in PJ, got any read no problem? Logistically
-
it'd be so easy if we had Friday night traffic
-
not fun. Every time we go back home, it's like
-
ten eleven o'clock tired, ready right? And we and that's
-
why we meet on the following Friday, because we needed
-
a place. And Vonnica graciously still opened the house, although
-
I wish you would also opened her kitchen or cook
-
for us. It's okay? And did you came now her? Now?
-
Her daughter? Does that pass? Already still got a gifting there?
-
So why am I sharing this to you? Well? As
-
I was reading this story, I remember again, or more
-
like God reminded me again why we planted the homes
-
and why every homes here has a purpose. The homes
-
is not supposed to be a clop. Friends. I remember
-
a leader recently spoke to me and asked me and say, hey,
-
in Hawa, my home's not growing. It's beenite difficult. A
-
lot of people got opinions about church. And I say, well,
-
up to you, La, if you wanted to talk. You're
-
the leader. You decide. And then he's like, oh, how
-
do I how do I present it. I say, very simple,
-
go back to the reason why we have homes in
-
the first place. Because some some times we will do
-
certain things and then it will take a life on
-
its own and become something else, and then it is
-
not intended for its original purpose, and that's where problem starts.
-
So I always go back to the reason why we
-
do certain things, the reason why we dress up on
-
a Sunday, the reason why we run homes. Because it
-
is very easy sometimes as people to hijack. We don't
-
like to say this word, but it's true. Hijack the
-
intention and focus in things that make us feel good,
-
and that takes precedence. That's reality, our friends. Can I
-
be real with you? So I have a question that
-
I'm asking myself. I'm asking you, I'm asking myself reading
-
this story. Is XPJ a life saving station? Or are
-
we just a club? Feels good? Right, You're coming here
-
hang out you know once? Are we a live saving station?
-
Are we just a club? Then I go back to
-
the Y, say, I go back to the y. Why
-
was X Church planted in pataling Jaya on the ninth
-
of September twenty twelve, thirteen years ago? How did it start?
-
Why was XPG birth or XBJA a birth course? El
-
can you asked past Elvin or the time not passe
-
at Elvin whether or not he want to come and
-
plant church? Or he started because everybody planting church? So
-
shot ma, everybody doing ma? So I also do la.
-
Was it so that we can have another gathering of
-
believers here in Jaya one? Or was it so that
-
we can be a lighthouse to the people here in PJ?
-
And it's very interesting planting x X churchair in PJ.
-
You know why do you know that you trow stone
-
across the road? Got other churches? You know? In America
-
that's this place called the Bible Belt of Emma Curl
-
in Texas, I think Tennessee meaning all the magach all
-
Brad want no, He's like, there's so many churches there.
-
You're like, hey, guys, can you please spread out there?
-
Do you know that Pj's like that ban Banya Banya?
-
You know that after you go lunch you see all
-
the other church people there, You see it, you know,
-
and one girl of people look a certain way, smaller
-
certain way. You know, this all Christian none you know what?
-
You know what I'm talking about? Right even here in
-
giant one, there's two churches. That's one a good friend. Okay,
-
but we didn't even know they plant it here. Okay,
-
plant but it's Indonesian uh congregation? Right, they plant a service, right,
-
so Pj's like the Bible belt. So why plant here?
-
Why so many church? God? No need? Send us somewhere else,
-
send us to I don't know, malam cap just throwing
-
up and nobody here, anybody here? Tani m So you
-
are poise it ches near my house? Easier? Come nearer
-
to my house? Cannot I say? Nearer? Nearer? I remember
-
the days, Joe, I don't really remember the days where
-
we were praying and seeking God because when we started church, right,
-
it's not just it's not just like, oh it makes sense,
-
that's too. We don't do that things that way. You know.
-
It started because the Holy Spirit did it. And when
-
we started, we didn't even know we're going to meet here.
-
You know? In fact, can I can I show you something?
-
When I say yes to el Kenya right to say okay,
-
other I think, let's do it. I didn't even know
-
I was supposed to lead it. Okay, that was a story,
-
not just that I didn't even know that I was
-
first choice. I thought it was second choice. I only
-
found out his first choice only like two three years back.
-
This is the amount of confidence I had over myself. No,
-
not someone else better than me. So imagine for ten Oh, yes,
-
I think that I'm second choice. So I can appreciate.
-
You know, even if God did and choose, you know,
-
people didn't choose, we go choose you No, actually better
-
choose first choice. I remember when we were praying. We
-
prayed for six months before it started. We didn't even
-
know where you're going to meet. Didn't even know there
-
was such a place here. We never knew right, how
-
we know about jaia Wan One of our partners, who
-
his name is c Glim, He says, the office here,
-
he's the iron Man, the men iron behind iron Man Malaysia.
-
He he had a he had a place called at
-
least a girl and all he said was, Hey, I
-
got a place here seas in Pja. Why don't you
-
guys meet here to pray? So we met to pray
-
for two hours? Okay, we met pray every week we
-
go and pray, right, Joe, remember prayer walk you know
-
around this area? Michelle acclaim we didn't even know there
-
was such a place, and then the testimony started coming.
-
After three months, four months, they say, hey, why don't
-
you meet here, like huh got place. In fact, how
-
we got this place was also a testimony because prior
-
to this there was another church meeting here and let's
-
just say that that unfortunately that relationship ended badly with
-
the management. And then we were like, huh, you don't
-
know whether we can, don't know whether we will be
-
able to or not because another church us didn't end well.
-
They might say, nolah, it's okay, no religious getting no
-
church one. They might say that, but somehow got opened
-
the door and somehow we met here. In fact, we
-
were not supposed to meet inside here. First we met
-
in studio on two Why smaller small, so me there first.
-
In my mind maybe three six months from now we
-
will come here because pastors said, once we hit fifty people,
-
come here. And then the time we were planting just
-
just we knew. Of course the first meeting was here.
-
Of course it was a Saturday. We wanted everybody to come.
-
Three hundred people feel the place, so we get to
-
feel it. Love following week is the real church service.
-
We met upsairs fifty people, I think came right. No,
-
not fifty kind, I think fifty. I think he said
-
once we hit eight and I remember we run do
-
you know we run service the same way we run
-
fifteen years ago? Was she prayer in between? We had
-
praying between and when we're doing praying between, I was
-
a chairperson, I was doing a lot of things. I
-
went up to this young gentleman who looked new. I mean,
-
we all know who's who's not new mathswama and say,
-
can I pray for you? And of course that started
-
a relationship and a discipleship until today and now he's
-
our worship coordinator. When we prayed in the six months,
-
what do we receive? Because what we'll do is your pray,
-
you know? And I seriously no for men, I'm not
-
like you don't train in that. No, neither am I
-
a prayer warrior. I mean, Chamin know who I am? Okay,
-
I'm not like like that one. Okay, yeah, grow up
-
me in chest together. So you know, so after prayer
-
we open up. Did anyone receive anything from the Lord?
-
And then people started sharing, Hey, I really believe God
-
wants us to be a lighthouse here. Someone shared another
-
person confirmed that, then we say a lighthouse. Hey, I
-
feel we need to pray for the spirit of materialism
-
in PJ. Huh got such a thing? Yes, because PJ
-
is a Satima and there's a lot of social issues.
-
People fight over money, people fight over a lot of
-
things to do with materials. Pray against that. Hey, I
-
think we need to pray for families ten years ago, right,
-
not so? And someone called that, Hey, we will be
-
a lighthouse to families out there, Families that are broken,
-
families that are going through difficult times, families with a lighthouse,
-
we pray for families who are lost who will be
-
able to find their hope in Christ. Why am I
-
sharing all this with your friends? Well, I guess I
-
want to remind us or if you have not heard
-
this before, let this be something that is clear. There's
-
a church. We are life saving station. We are not
-
just a club. So can we not argue about club things,
-
but can we argue about life saving things? We need
-
bigger boats, We need to go out more often. You know,
-
I'm proud for XBJA. I'm proud because XPJA is one
-
of the church plans. I recognize that we always send
-
people formations on today, or so we joke about it.
-
I don't know. Actually, what's the what's that tennis today?
-
What seventy okay? So we said, actually said mala okay
-
seventy people We joke lout like, huh, today's Tenni's gonna drop?
-
Why two teams went not form missions today? Right pasta
-
mat Atlin's Holmes And I think as homes went now right,
-
We're proud of our church plan. We always supported chesch plan.
-
Let me give you a scripture x twenty twenty four.
-
But my life is worth nothing to me unless I
-
use it for finishing the work assigned me by the
-
Lord Jesus, the work of telling others the good news
-
about the wonderful grace of God. I wrote here, Why
-
do we multiply pgate homes? Why do we launch out
-
to be more uncomfortable? And are right now? Nomadic? We're nomadic?
-
You know? Nomadic we are? Why? As I was preparing
-
for this message, I got this picture. Can you give
-
me show the picture? What do you see? It's a boat? Right?
-
You got different lifeboats. As I was prepreaying on this message,
-
this picture came into my mind and I want you
-
to think about it because all of you here are
-
different ones here who commit to the church are a
-
part of a hole. That big boat here in the middle
-
is XPJ. Do you see all the little little rife
-
lifecraft life raft on the boat. You know what'stad? Those
-
are the homes today. We got two homes going out,
-
two missions. He's Pastor Mats Homes saving this ball guy
-
with the beard, and that's Leadin's Homes saving the guy
-
with the I don't know why. He's holding a briefcase
-
and drowning, probably drowning in depth of drowning in some
-
financial trouble arkay. And then the guy temporarily got the
-
life you know, the life saving thing really and then
-
this boat that is over here that many should throw
-
the life out to the the girl is PJ at homes.
-
I claim fast la, I claim why because today later
-
we're gonna do what field to fueler, right, We're gonna
-
do an effort. Right. The chemist students is gonna come together.
-
They're gonna pack like fifty Sutter packs and we're gonna
-
just give it out, okay, and hopefully your bare food.
-
Hopefully people will be curious. Hopefully people find out who
-
we are hope people be connected to church, right and friends,
-
can I give you some and I claim not like yeah,
-
now our homes will go out. The other homes that
-
are here inside church don't feel bad. Of course you
-
are resting later when, but we need one home to
-
come and save this lady. She's streaming for help. Ready.
-
Let me give you this perspective. And I'm not sure
-
whether it's a stretch, but I will say it this way.
-
There's a lot of things happening right now in our
-
country pretending young people correct. This is my firm belief.
-
My firm belief is if they are family members, or
-
if they themselves knew who Jesus was personally, they will
-
not have lost their lives. Let us sing in for
-
a moment. If the young people knew who Christ was,
-
who that Christ loved them, If the young people understood
-
Christ the way we understood, the way we understood Christ.
-
Not yo, yo, get why may not the way we
-
understand who Christ is? They wouldn't do what they're doing
-
right now. A lot of times people don't fully get it,
-
and sometimes someone words, here, we come to church, but
-
we don't fully understand who Christ is in our lives
-
That's why we get sucked into temptations, sucked into all
-
these other things that affect us. Because, guys, whether we
-
like it or not, we are making decisions on a
-
daily basis. We choose to follow Jesus. It was a choice.
-
It was not for us. None of you here are
-
born a Christian. And if you think you are, please
-
you need to accept Christ after today's message, because it's
-
a personal choice. I'm very clear that my kids, they
-
have to choose Jesus themselves. There's no okay once day
-
eighteen years old, are I see to cut Christian? No
-
such thing. All of us here have to choose to
-
follow Christ ourselfs and we have to continue to choose
-
to follow Christ ourself. True, that's a fact. You can
-
don't like the fact, but that's a fact. That means
-
that we have to take personal responsibility of our faith
-
and personal responsibility when things happen. But the wonderful thing, friends,
-
is that we are not alone. We've got our homes,
-
we've got our church, We've got the community of believers
-
that when we are drowning some ER's here we feel
-
like actually a perselvey. I'm here, I felt off the
-
board and I'm drowning. I need help. Sure your homes
-
that you've got a number ready will come and save
-
you because you're drowning. You'll catch it or not. It's
-
an urgency friends that I don't know whether we realize
-
or not, because now people are really dying. Really, it's
-
not fake anymore. No, it's not oh, you know news
-
somewhere far, far away. No, it's happening here in malisure.
-
Are we catching something or are we? Can we come
-
to a place where we are ignorant and continue live
-
our lives and continue to play this game We can't,
-
our friends, we can't, and don't worry about it. Ignorance
-
is blissed. Look five to one to nine, Look five
-
one tonight. And I end with this. I guys, okay,
-
I'm not saying this to make you feel bad. Okay,
-
So don't feel bad. If you feel bad, then it's
-
Holy Spirit, can not me. I surrender to him, you know,
-
I'm saying this for us to wake up. Wake up,
-
Time to wake up. Luke Chapter five one to nine says,
-
so it was as the multitude pressed about him to
-
hear the word of God, that he stood by the
-
lake of Ganessaret and saw two boats standing by the lake,
-
but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing
-
their nets. Then he got into one of the boats,
-
which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a
-
little from the land. And he sat down and taught
-
the multitudes from the boat. When he had stopped speaking,
-
he said to Simon, friends, catch these words up, launch
-
out into the deep, and let down your nets for
-
a catch. But everybody say, but you know some NICs.
-
We have the butt for Jesus. But Jesus, but God, I,
-
but I vary, But I got no man, but I
-
got no time. But my family. But I not a
-
baster but I but I don't know the Bible enough.
-
But but I but answered Simon answered him and said, Master,
-
we have pot all night and got nothing. Yeah, I
-
ready did this just now. Ready, I really prayed, readly,
-
I ready went for all the mission. Try. Ready, I
-
ready reached out to my my family so many times, reay,
-
I really did so many come on thirty yes, ready, ten, yes, ready, Jesus.
-
Why now nevertheless, at your word, I will let down
-
the nets. How many of us are going to come
-
to the place. Nevertheless, at your word, Despite all the
-
stuff that happened to you in the past, despite all
-
the disappointments, despite all the people that betray you, despite
-
all the people that left you. I disciple ready so
-
many times. Very painful, Yes, very painful. I know recently
-
or so, I had to let go of someone fifteen
-
years together. But person wanted to do something. I'm like, Okay,
-
let's just continue to be friends. He's going to be fine.
-
Person's under Christ. You know, still going to church, Praise Scot,
-
pray that you will find something there. Is it painful,
-
of course, but nevertheless, at your word, I will let
-
down my nets. And what happened, friends, And when they
-
had done this, they caught a great number of fish,
-
and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their
-
partners in the other boats and come and help them.
-
And they came and filled both the boats so that
-
they began to sing. When Simon Peter saw it, he
-
fell down, and Jesus kneed saying, depart from me, for
-
I'm a sinful man, Oh Lord, for he and all
-
who were with him were astonished at the catch or
-
fish which they had taken. Friends. Today, I believe Jesus
-
wants us to launch out into the deed, not just
-
as a church, but you guys as well, whatever that means.
-
But the thing that sometimes we don't realize, or at
-
least sometimes we need to come to terms with first,
-
is that it first takes obedience and submission. It doesn't
-
take passion, it doesn't take excitement, it doesn't take any
-
of this. It just takes obedience. They have called all night.
-
They have done ministry so long ready, they have organized
-
so many different things. They did. They have tried to
-
reach out to everybody. First time cannot, The time cannot,
-
five time cannot. But when God's word comes, are we
-
going to do it? Are we going to say, Okay, God,
-
I listened to you. It takes obedience and it takes submission.
-
Do you know the word submission? Is there? I'm preparing
-
another message I won't always share today, but I'm preparing
-
that message on submission. I'm beginning to realize recognize that
-
submission is very important and a lot of times, right
-
we live our lives, we know submission. It looks like submission,
-
but it's not. And unfortunately I can tell you, honestly, God,
-
honest submission. But the world teaches us to be your
-
own man it's a that cast. It is like a
-
total you know contract. Contrast, it takes obedience and submission,
-
and that's something every one of us here have to
-
decide on our own obedience. I'm not saying obey me, no, no,
-
no obedience to the Lord add submission to him. But
-
when we take that step of faith, when we take
-
their self faith. Hopefully when and not ifla when we
-
take yourself faith, then we will experience God's hand in
-
our lives because God is pleased with him. I don't
-
know your background, I don't know what you go through,
-
but there's one thing I know as a believer, and
-
I want that path. Is that when God says something
-
and when I listen and obey, it is always a
-
step of faith on you cannot see you on, But
-
the moment you take that step of faith forward, he
-
will reward you, because it's said in Hebrew Chapter eleven,
-
verse six. But without faith it is impossible to please him.
-
For he who comes to God must believe that he
-
is and that he is a rewarder of those who
-
diligently seek him. Talk to the Christians here that have
-
taken steps of faith in their life. You will recognize
-
and hear that once you can do it one time
-
for a small thing, big things easier. And when I
-
say step of faith, I'm not talking about, oh, you know,
-
give all your money to the Lord. Hello, that stet
-
of foolishness. And let's God say solar. Step of faith
-
means a God say something you obey. Most of the time,
-
when God says something and we have to obey, you
-
cannot see the future. And just got trust him. I
-
mean by self faith. And when he says something and
-
you take them self faith. He is a rewarder of
-
those who diligently seek him. That's what I'll leave for
-
you today. I'm not sure who this message will talk to.
-
I'm not sure what you guys will do after this.
-
I pray that this chese plant will continue to be
-
a life saving station. But my encouragement for us this
-
morning is that it's time to step out in faith
-
just now when we're doing the priorship prayer, Friends, I
-
want to encourage you, no matter how bad things get
-
in your life, please look to Christ. It is not
-
our experience as a believer. It is not the amount
-
of you know, street credit we have, amount title we
-
have Actually very interesting now in X we've got people
-
a lot title past doctor Principal Paster Jack. I think
-
he's the most titles as the elder teacher. Anyway, it's
-
not about the titles. It is also time, friends, to
-
obey the call of God over your lives. Papa said, Elvin,
-
I'm already Yeah, you're not too old. Pasai, I got
-
a family, yep, with your family. I am experimenting planting
-
a homes with my family. Why is it experimenting because
-
I can fail. It's time to obey the call of
-
God and stop playing in the shadows. Stop it. You're
-
not going to get anything if you're play in the shallows. Friends, Seriously,
-
for those hours who have gone and gone to the deep,
-
we understand deeply scary. You know you cannot feel the bottom.
-
I can't same. You know, I need to rely on
-
the life jacket. But when we go into the deep,
-
and when we fully trust God and obey him, well
-
we will be ruthful. You will be Life will be
-
more at peace, Life will be more fulfeeling. Friends, I
-
tell you, abandoned life is awesome. You don't have to
-
wait to go to heaven to have abundant life. But
-
you know sometimes there are certain things in our lines
-
that hold us back. Our fears, our worries, the decisions
-
we constantly make that say cannot, cannot, cannot, although God
-
say can. Friends, it's time to go. It's time to go.
-
I don't know what in your life situation it is.
-
And please don't do it alone. Please do it with
-
someone else because the one thing that also have learned
-
is that our hearts are ready receiving. Can One can bluff,
-
can bluff one. You can blove yourself on. You can
-
prove yourself to do a lot of things on and
-
justify I love things on. Friends, That's the reality of life.
-
So don't do it alone. You need someone else there
-
that will Hey, hello, stop doing that. Not the smartters,
-
but step by in faith. Amen.
-
We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
