You're listening to a message to go from at church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
All right, so we know that this this year we've
-
activated revival.
-
Right.
-
Last year it was discipleship. We continue with discipleship. This
-
year is revival, and then next year will be evangelism
-
and then A and M. All right, dream So uh
-
if you got that that that opening slide with with
-
the title, you can just flash it on. Okay, Remember
-
the last time I said that I made a mistake.
-
I didn't put the revival on the horror So I remember,
-
so dream revival and ea, M that's for next year,
-
year after next and year after next. What's my attitude?
-
What's my attitude? The last time I shared with you,
-
I think I shared that revival is a personal choice, right,
-
Revival is something that happens to believe us. Revival is not.
-
We we mistake revival, we get we we make this mistake.
-
Between revival and evangelism, it's two different things. Evangelism comes
-
after revival takes place, all right, and revival takes place
-
with the believers. And I want to share with you
-
something from the parable.
-
I think I spelled. Is it right? Mixed ors.
-
Okay, I got it right. Okay, the spelling because in
-
my notes is wrong. Okay, Parable of the talents. Wow,
-
something to be learned about this from the Parable of
-
the talents. Look, God has something for us in this scripture,
-
and I pray that if we catch on to it,
-
if you realize what it's all about, is going to
-
change our lives.
-
So let's read.
-
From Matthew twenty five, reading from verse fourteen.
-
For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man.
-
Ooh, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man traveling
-
to a far country who called his own servants and
-
delivered his goods to them. The Kingdom of Heaven is
-
like a man traveling a pharaoh place faraway place, and
-
he gave his goods to his servants. Now why the
-
Kingdom of Heaven. I really had a trouble with this
-
for some time. The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man.
-
And then as I did a little bit more reading
-
and understanding, I realized that the writers revered God so
-
much that they would not use the word God. They
-
wouldn't use the Kingdom of God. They wouldn't use God
-
is like a man. They won't do that all right.
-
So when Jesus was reciting this parable, and a parable
-
is a story that we can learn from. It's not
-
necessarily a real story, but it has a life meaning
-
and it could be based on something actual. So Jesus
-
was actually speaking to the Jewish people who understood the
-
term that he was referring to. So when he said
-
the kingdom of Heaven, he was speaking a language that
-
they understood. So it it could be the Kingdom of
-
God is like a man. It could also be God
-
is like a man. Not it's drawing a picture. It's
-
not something specific or something real. It's not saying God
-
is a man, all right. It's like trying to explain
-
him in a way that we will understand. So a
-
far away country, it says that this man Kingdom of
-
God is like this man who traveled to a far
-
away country and he delivered his goods to his servants.
-
I want to draw your attention to this.
-
Do you know why? And I think I spelt it
-
wrong again?
-
Mix one okay, never mind good, it's not okay the
-
one before, all right. The reason this is because the
-
reason that God can go far away is because he
-
trusts us. If you read that scripture if you read
-
it very carefully, He's like a man who delivered his
-
goods to his servants. He went to a far away country.
-
How many of you will do that? You go to
-
a far away country, You call your housemaid. Here's my
-
bank account number, This is my password. You know the
-
ten million in the bank account. You use it according
-
to how you feel. Would you do that? You wouldn't
-
write your master bedroom. You look, you won't let craigna.
-
Why is that? Because your trust level only goes so far?
-
But do you know when this is talking about God,
-
Your God and my God?
-
He trusts us.
-
You got to understand that he trusts us. If he
-
did not trust us, he would still be here right
-
by our sideway. You and I can see, like the
-
cloud and the fire that followed his people. You know
-
why the cloud and that fire followed the people? Could
-
he trust them to understand just how much he cared
-
for them? They would not be able to do it.
-
So he had to have a visual But here he
-
traveled to a far away country. You and I better
-
appreciate God. We better appreciate him on a different level
-
because you and I know who we are. We know
-
what kind of people we are. We know what a
-
situation is. But God still trusts us. Amy that counts
-
for something. It when he in Matthew twenty eight says
-
go into the world and make disciples. He and trusted
-
the biggest task that he had on his mind with
-
sinners like you and me. Guys, gotta understand God is
-
a different level.
-
Okay, I mean he is. He is matchless.
-
None of us can sometimes even trust our own family
-
members like that.
-
God can.
-
And then it said in scripture he said, who called
-
his servants called his servants? You know it is a calling.
-
It is a calling to be a believer. You think
-
you are a believer because you said, Jesus coming to
-
my heart and be my Lord, and say it true.
-
That's true. But do you think that you did that
-
because you just felt like you wanted to do it?
-
He called you. And in my case it's true because
-
when I got saved forty seven years ago, he actually
-
came down in a pillar and I actually heard him say, Terence,
-
you're not a believer, receive me now. And only after
-
he said those words, which I heard with my years,
-
did I give my life to Christ. So he calls
-
it is a calling servants. Who did he call? He
-
called servants. You know what this word servant means. It
-
means a slave. He called his slaves. He called his
-
bond servern, you know as a bond servern. Bond servant says,
-
I will serve you all my life. So they put
-
their ear to the to the door, and then they
-
puncture where they all so that blood falls on the
-
on the door posts. Okay, that means that guy has
-
given his life to the Lord forever.
-
You know.
-
It's a voluntary, fully devoted servant. Guys, the House of
-
the Lord is filled with servants or visitors. Remember I
-
said this is a meet message. Do we attend church
-
just to hear the word? Is that why we come
-
to worship the Lord every day every Sunday? Or do
-
we come into the house just to hear the word?
-
I mean, if that's all we do coming to the house.
-
And this is how this message came about. Okay, I'm
-
going to share a little bit of the end before
-
the beginning. This is supposed to be the climax. But
-
I can't wait. I really can't wait.
-
God gave the.
-
Talents to whom the servants of the house. But the
-
church is full of visitors, the ones who come in
-
and go out.
-
Immediately.
-
They come in before service, or they come in during
-
service and immediately after service go out because they have
-
come to be served.
-
And not to serve. Think about it, God is your restaurant.
-
You see. This whole thought.
-
Came about when someone once told me, it's okay, what well,
-
I don't need to come to this. I can go
-
to any church. God is there, God is any Is
-
God in any church? Can I see your hands being
-
put up? God is lay? God is any any Okay?
-
He is right.
-
So that guy told me. That person told me, oh,
-
God is in any church. You can go to any church.
-
God is there? Why do I need to come to
-
this church?
-
On me?
-
So that's when I went to the Lord and I
-
asked the Lord, Lord, is this true? Is this what
-
you mean for us? Then the Lord gave this to me.
-
He said, I gave my goods only to my servants.
-
So that means those who just go from place to
-
place to hear this, they are being served by God.
-
Think about it. I'm just going there to hear the message.
-
Ah today, this Quitel message, I think I want Claiyport message.
-
So I will go to this other place. They are
-
serving Clayport message there. The Clayport message is not so good.
-
Maybe I have to try that desert. That that that
-
you know Joe is talking about. Ye're going to try
-
that in that other place. So you know what, you
-
go from place to place to place to place. You
-
know what you're doing. You're making God your chef. He's
-
got to serve you the food. And you sit there.
-
I like it.
-
I don't like it. You get up and you go
-
somewhere else. Let me tell you gain nothing. In fact,
-
that you only pay. You go to a restaurant, they
-
give you anything. No, you pay what you pay. So
-
that's but I wanted to draw your attention to God.
-
He delivered his goods. He gave his goods to hisself.
-
And you know that I studied this word, delivered, gave
-
this good It wasn't a loan. You know, you know
-
that your God and minor, he doesn't believe in giving
-
us loans.
-
He gives, he gives. He delivered his goods to us.
-
It was ours, it became ours, It now is ours.
-
It belongs to us.
-
So God gave us talents. A scripture talks about talents
-
as money. But this is word talent is quite interesting.
-
He could also mean the things that he can do.
-
You can pray for the sake and they can recover.
-
You can write songs, you can sing, you can play
-
nice guitar, you can keep a good beat.
-
For me.
-
The Lord opens up and I ask the Lord Lord,
-
how come this is my gift to you. I can
-
see Scripture a little bit differently. It opens up to me,
-
and this is my gift. Now if I keep it
-
to myself, you know what I am. I'm going to
-
a restaurant. The restaurant my restaurant is called a Bible.
-
But you see, God doesn't expect me to go to
-
a restaurant. He expects me to serve him. So he
-
gives me a gift, a talent that I don't keep
-
to myself.
-
I use. So he delivered his goods.
-
And then Scripture says, and to one he gave five talents,
-
and to another two, and another one to each according
-
to his own ability. And immediately he went on a journey.
-
As I said, God gave. And the reason why I
-
believe that this parable is in reference to God is
-
because in the later part of this parable, you will
-
see that this person had the authority to do something
-
which we will discuss a little later on. So when
-
I'm referring to this person this parable is talking about,
-
I believe that it is a type referring to God.
-
So God did not lend it, wasn't alone. He didn't
-
consign here. I give you this and then later on
-
you give it back to me. He didn't consign it.
-
He put it completely under our authority and dominion. What
-
is the gift that God has given you? What talent
-
has he placed in your hand? You say, I'm not
-
a person of talent, There's nothing I can do.
-
Well, it's like this. My Bible tells me.
-
If you are a servant in the house, my Bible
-
tells me he gives talents. So either my Bible is
-
wrong or you are wrong.
-
Who do you think. I will believe.
-
There is nobody here who doesn't have a talent that
-
the Lord has given because the.
-
Bible tells me this.
-
It says it is given each to his own ability.
-
And that is really revolutionary, because if your ability is
-
to say hello to one child, that is your ability.
-
When you say hallo to that one child, you have
-
done what the Lord has told you to do You
-
mean to say, you cannot do that. If the Lord
-
has told you to stand up here and share the
-
word of God, that is your talent. You stand up
-
here and you share the word of God. If the
-
Lord has said come up here and draw a poster
-
for the church, and you draw a poster for the church,
-
that is your talent. If you are a person, the
-
Lord has said, go and say hello to one child,
-
draw a poster for the church, and preach the word
-
of God.
-
Three talents. Do it? Love some people he gives more. Right,
-
So do you get jealous?
-
No, because the scripture says, here's one each according to
-
his own ability. That means that he recognizes where you
-
are and he doesn't want to burden you. He doesn't
-
want to stretch you beyond your capability. He wants to
-
be just for you. You know, you can be the
-
best guitarister. I give you another example. Okay, you can
-
be a guitarist. You can be the best guitarist. You
-
can be a great music producer and a musician. So
-
the ability to play instruments and produce albums. To sing
-
us sometimes maybe just to sing, but some singers can
-
also produce albums and play the guitar very well. You've
-
heard of this guy, Prince Anna Purple. Okay, that guy Prince.
-
I only discovered very lately that he was an exceptional
-
guitar player. Guitarist. I mean you listened to him play
-
the guitar. Michael Jackson couldn't play guitar. I know, Michael
-
Jackson could dance and sing, but you know he couldn't
-
play the guitar.
-
But Prince could dance, he could sing.
-
Man, he played fantastic guitar and listened to him play
-
the bass is something else. So this is a person
-
that had many talents. Guys, what's the talent that God
-
has given you?
-
Each?
-
According to you know what? Your distinct ability unique only
-
to you. It was more towards your suitability rather than
-
to the amount of war you could do, rather than
-
you know, God is telling you each and every one
-
of you you have something to offer. So don't look
-
at that other guy and say, you know, I want
-
to do what he is doing. Don't look at that
-
other person and say why they can do so many things?
-
I cannot do so much, so I better not do. No,
-
You got to understand the Lord gave you that which
-
is distinct only to you. Then he verse sixteen, then
-
you will receive five talents, went and traded with them
-
and made another five more, and likewise he would received
-
two gained two more. You want to know something, both
-
of them produced one hundred percent. You see, why are
-
we worried whether this guy produces five or this guy
-
produces two? Remember what scripture say gave according to their ability,
-
distinct ability, what they could do, he gave when they produce?
-
What did they produce one hundred percent? So is their
-
production level same or different?
-
It's the same. It is the same.
-
Because they both produced one hundred percent. You see, if
-
you can do more and you don't do one hundred percent,
-
what are you doing?
-
You're doing less. If you.
-
Can do something that one thing and you do it, well,
-
what are you doing? You're doing one hundred percent. See,
-
God looks at things differently, doesn't look like us. He
-
doesn't see things the way we see things. Maybe that's
-
why there's so much problems in the world today. Guys,
-
they both produced exactly the production value of their distinct abilities.
-
What is the talent that God has given you? Are
-
you keeping it to yourself? Are you keeping it to yourself?
-
Are you working with it?
-
Please?
-
Don't just keep it to yourself. Work with it. Success
-
came in doing what they could do best. What can
-
you do?
-
Do it? Well?
-
Success will come to you. You look back at your
-
life and say, wow, I've come so far. How did
-
this happen? Well, you are just doing what God told
-
you to do. You're not doing what somebody else could do.
-
That fella can do ten things, you can only do one.
-
You did that well, and guess what. You look back
-
and say, Ah, I have moved forward. Isn't that wonderful?
-
God is really good the affair? So they did it.
-
If it was to play guitar, they did. If it
-
was to sing, they did. If it was to produce
-
an album, they did. When God asks you to do something,
-
you can do it using equals gain. Don't use no,
-
use no gain, use this gain. And sometimes the Lord
-
will ask you to do something, maybe not directly to you,
-
but through your CPC. Your CPC comes up to you
-
and say, hey, can you do this? You say no,
-
I cannot do. Who are you saying no to? Ask yourself?
-
Are you saying no to the CPC? Are you asking?
-
Or are you saying no to the God who's given
-
you a talent. You and I will live a line.
-
We don't take notice of these things. Maybe that's why
-
we don't live as well as we should be living.
-
Guys like I said, this is not milk, this is meat.
-
But he let's talk about number eighteen, verse eighteen. But
-
he there's one guyer, one joker, the real joker. He
-
who received one went and dug in the ground and
-
hid his lord's money. After a long time, the lord
-
of this servant came and settle accounts with them. You know,
-
the first two went and traded. The first two worked
-
with what the Lord had given them. The first two
-
used their talents. Let's look at the third one. The
-
third one, he left, He departed. He took a direction
-
away from the task. Scripture says he left and doug
-
he did not get with the program. You know, this
-
is like an under somebody I know, somebody I know
-
here's a believer or I don't know whether he's still
-
a believer, but a believer had some kind of grudge
-
against God. I don't know what kind of grudge. Do
-
you know there are people in this world of God
-
grudge against God? And they try and fight God like
-
God will fall to pieces. Hey, dear God, you are
-
not who are you to fight against God? So he
-
thinks he's like some sort of Jacob wrestling with God.
-
And one day the Lord will touch his tie and
-
God will give him what he wants, and never mind
-
if he comes out limpin. To me, that is mere foolishness,
-
because you don't go fight against God, you will lose
-
all the time. Don't fight God, you will lose all
-
the time. Just get with the program. So this is
-
this kind of character, this kind of ca And you
-
know he had something against the Master because you listen
-
to what he said later on.
-
So he dug and he hid it.
-
You know when you dig and you hide that telling
-
you know what it is you are, You are rejecting
-
that entrustment. I don't want any part of it. Wow,
-
do we dare? Tell God that I don't want any
-
part of your kingdom. So I'm gonna do what I want,
-
and I want to submit myself to you.
-
I did not, you know. Do you know in church?
-
I think almost all my leaders, or let me not,
-
almost all my leaders are younger than me. Do you
-
know that all my leaders are have known the Lord
-
less than me. All I'm talking about from the very
-
top right down. I'm older than them. I've been a
-
believer longer than they have been a believer. But you
-
know I submit to them.
-
Do you know why I do that?
-
Because I don't want to be like someone who hit
-
my talent in the ground and said, I'm not going
-
to do that. It's beneath me to work under those
-
who should I who I should be leading?
-
Is that the way it is?
-
No, God's never been about who's at the top.
-
You know what God has been about? What are you doing?
-
Where are you at? What will you do to please me?
-
The time is coming short. The time is very short.
-
Jesus is coming again soon. If you do not know
-
how to read the signs of the times, let me
-
tell you Jesus is coming again very soon. I pray
-
that when he comes, he'll find you and I to
-
be people who are using the talents He's given us.
-
Look at what after some time he came back. Do
-
you know that time was given for all of us
-
to get a act together?
-
We are all.
-
Given time, But do you know that time can run out?
-
There is time is finite, you know for us time
-
is finite. What is our timeline. Our timeline is from
-
the time we are born to the time we expire.
-
That is our timeline. But do you know the timeline
-
to do God's work also has an expiry date. I
-
pray that you and I will get over ourselves and
-
start submitting ourselves in the house of the Lord as servants,
-
so that we can utilize the talents that He's given
-
us for his glory. We are not restaurant goers. Church
-
is not a restaurant to us. Let it never be
-
a restaurant to us. Let it be a place where
-
we serve, not where we get God to serve us. Came, okay,
-
this is now talking about God Verse twenty. And he
-
came and he received He who had so, he who
-
had received five talents came and brought five to the
-
other servants, saying, Lord Lord, look you delivered to me
-
five talents. Look I gained five more. And his Lord said,
-
well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful over
-
a few things. I'll make you ruler over many things. Enter,
-
come on in into the joy of the Lord. H
-
You know what was this person's reward? First reward, good
-
and faidful, good. He describes what originates from God and
-
is empowered by Him in their lives through faith.
-
Wow, the.
-
Master commended this servant as good. You know, it wasn't
-
the more money that the God was pleased about.
-
You you look at it.
-
He didn't say, wow, I got five more talents. Great,
-
I'm richer. Did the Master say that? No, he said
-
the first thing was he commended the servant well done,
-
good and faithful.
-
It wasn't the money the Master was pleased about. It
-
was faith forness. Do you know that? That is? What
-
is that?
-
That is what God is seeking from each and every
-
one of us for the talents He's put in our hands.
-
Faithfulness.
-
Now we have to be faithful over the gifts that
-
God has given us. To those of us who just
-
have young children. Now, Bible says their gifts from the Lord.
-
Are we faithful with demonad? Do we look after them?
-
Na? Do we care for them or not? Do you
-
know what I tell you?
-
My wife and me, we never cared for our children
-
in such a way that we told God we care
-
for our children more than you.
-
You know what that means. That means we subjected our
-
parenthood to our service. Of the Lord. You should have.
-
Seen my kids. They were with us in church until
-
two am. Yeah, I come to service, six am, go
-
back to am Monday morning. My baby's one year old,
-
one and a half years old, they're with us. Did
-
we ever say no, no, no, I got to go back home.
-
My child, my child, my child.
-
No. You know why.
-
Because we told the Lord we can never look after
-
our children better.
-
Than you can. We need your help.
-
So every time we serve the Lord, we were serving
-
the Lord with full knowledge of the fact that God
-
was looking after our children. And I told you the Testimonyum,
-
my little girl had her arm dislocated, crying for so
-
many hours while you're such bad parents, you allow your child.
-
We didn't know.
-
I mean, we don't have extra vision, only supermandos, so
-
we didn't know he had she had a dislocated arm.
-
She's maybe one, one year, one month, one year of
-
two months, crying and crying and crying the whole service,
-
wondering why is she crying. So immediately after service we
-
took her to the hospital. We checked out and say, oh,
-
we need to take an X ray. Your child is
-
probably dislocated the arm.
-
So I just looked.
-
At Elder Mayble, and I said, there is no way
-
we're going to allow our child to be x rayed. Okay,
-
So we're going to trust the Lord Lord.
-
We pray.
-
We just interceded, We prayed, we prayed, We prayed in
-
the name of Jesus.
-
So Ashley was.
-
Sitting on Elder Mabel's lap and I was standing praying
-
for her, had a.
-
Toy in my hand.
-
Immediately after I said Jesus name that injured hands, she
-
just reached out and took the toy and she started laughing,
-
giggling and laughing. We saw tested out her arm. She
-
was completely chuck and cheeser changed. We just walked right
-
up to the county said, non need for x ray.
-
We left the hospital exactly like that. God looks after
-
our children better than we can, Okay, So we have
-
to be faithful over the gifts he's given us.
-
The joy of your Lord. Enter into the joy of
-
your Lord. This is what was their reward, what was
-
his reward? Enter into the joy of the Lord. The
-
word refers to someone supreme. Hey, God is supreme. Enter
-
into my supreme joy. This is why I believe this
-
parable refers to God and his interaction with us specifically, Well,
-
isn't it wonderful to enter into the juggle? You mean
-
to say, Elder Mable and myself, we were not happy
-
when Ashley was healer. We were over enjoyed. What an
-
amazing testimony. The other day, I went to the hospital
-
and I was leaving my mom and I was in
-
the hospital and three am, three four am. Okay, yeah,
-
I see that. Okay, So until three am I was
-
in the hospital and because you reading my mom, and
-
then of course we were in the emergency and you know,
-
they every five minutes they're bringing in people on the stretcher,
-
bleeding everywhere, cart broken, you know, accidents, was almost all
-
of their motorcycles. So it was these two guys. I
-
didn't tell you this, right, no, okay. So there was
-
these two guys who came and they sat by my side,
-
chain broke the chin, you know, all damage bleeding here there, everywhere,
-
you know, and they sat in the chair by me
-
waiting for their turn to be looked at. So this
-
was at seven forty five, just before it. Then they
-
look at the nurse and say, it can be going
-
eat because you know it's fasting and we haven't eaten yet.
-
So we're hungry. It's both brothers are. The nurse looked
-
at them and say, no, I'm sorry, you can't. You
-
have to wait until the doctor sees you. The doctor
-
can call you it anytime. So I heard this, and
-
then after that the Lord said. I heard the Lord
-
say feed them. The Lord said feed them. So I
-
turned to them and said, you all a fasting today?
-
Yeah?
-
Yeah, yeah, we haven't. You know, we're a little be hungry.
-
So I went and got themn food. I got them food.
-
I got them drink because I heard the Lord say,
-
do it. I gave it to them. They were so grateful. No, no,
-
let me pay you. I said, no, no need to pay.
-
Give them the food.
-
And I know why. The Lord told me to give
-
them food. Do you know what time they were released.
-
They were released at two am. Can you imagine already
-
in pain, bleeding everywhere? And then I'm very hungry.
-
Do you know that the Lord cared for the two
-
of them. The Lord was compacted. The Lord was thinking
-
of them. You think that Lord only thinks of believers.
-
He thinks of everyone because everyone is a potential to
-
coming to know him as personal Lord and savior.
-
He loves them.
-
So was that being a good servant? I guess so
-
at that moment I heard the Lord.
-
I did it?
-
How many times the Lord telling us things we don't do,
-
we miss out? So he came now to the one
-
where two talents He came and said, Lord, Lord, you
-
delivered to me too. Look I have gained two more
-
besides them. And his Lord said, well done, what good
-
and faithful? You have been faithful over a few things.
-
I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into
-
the joy of the Lord. I want to draw your
-
attention to this. Is there any record that the Master
-
took back the money? Do you know that the Master
-
did not take back the money from them? In fact,
-
the Master said, whatever you have, you get more. The
-
Lord is not interested in reclaiming the talents he's given you.
-
In fact, he wants to give you more. He wants
-
to bless you more. You got to know the heart
-
of the Lord. The heart of the Lord is to
-
bless you. That is the heart of the Lord. Are
-
we living his heart? So there's no record the Master
-
taking back the money, say in other words, it was given.
-
In fact, he let them keep it.
-
God has never been interested in the money or the
-
gifts perceived, but our faithfulness to use it and produce?
-
Are we producing? I ask yourself this question. Don't I
-
got to speak to you? Do not treat church as
-
a restaurant. Whichever church you settled in, you must serve.
-
And if you haven't settled in in a church, do
-
it quickly. Time is short Verse twenty four. Then he said,
-
Then he who who had received the one talent came
-
and said, Lord, this guy's happy for the wrong thing.
-
Lord, I knew you were a hard.
-
Man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where
-
you're not scattered seed. He's even insulting the Master.
-
You know.
-
You are an unfair man. You do things that not nice.
-
This is what he's telling the Master. You know, like
-
that person I was telling you just now, and I
-
was afraid. And when it hit your talent in the ground,
-
Look there you have what is yours? Do you think
-
you can get away with it? To tell God you're
-
not right? Something wrong with you? So I was afraid
-
because you're a gangster, So I didn't want to lose
-
your money, so I hid it.
-
You dare tell God that do I tell? Dare tell
-
God that we are crazy? We do.
-
But you know, there are a lot of brave people
-
in the world today, lots of brave people in the world.
-
The Church is full of brave people. The Church is
-
full of brave people who all the time tell God, Hey,
-
get out of my life, I will do what I want.
-
That's the same man, same kind of character. The one
-
with the one talent claimed to be fully knowledgeable of
-
his Master. He said, I know who you are. You
-
know you're like this, like this, like this. It was
-
a deep miscalculation. You know why, because you do not
-
miscalculate that relationship with God. The word that he used
-
was your heart. You're tough, you're hash severe. The word
-
is skelos. That was the word that the servant used
-
against the Master. To me, his statement reflects his contempt
-
of God. He basically accused God of being unjust. Rather
-
than face that just, rather than face that, he returned
-
the talent to God. I do not need you, nor
-
do I work for you. That is exactly the message
-
he was telling the Master. That's like us when God
-
gives us a talent and we don't use it for
-
His kingdom. We are just telling God God, I do
-
not need you. Do you think you're gonna be in
-
the Master's joy. There are lots of people who will
-
get surprised on the last day. I'm sorry to say,
-
this is what scripture says. Lots of people will be surprised.
-
How do you know that? Because scripture does say, did
-
I not call you Lord? Lord?
-
Did I not cast out demons in your name? You
-
know he will say. You know what the Lord says,
-
depart from me. I never knew you, but his Lord
-
answered and said to him, you wicked and lazy seven.
-
You knew that I read where I'm not sown, and
-
gathered where I have not seen. In other words, he's saying,
-
you say that about me, and yet you do not
-
do anything. Not to do what God has given us
-
talents to do equates is equal to wickedness. You know,
-
God calls us wicked. If we don't do that, do
-
we want to be called wicked by the Lord? Come on, guys,
-
realize I told you this is not a milk message.
-
It's a meat message. Wake up and grow. We got
-
to grow. You want revival that happened in your life.
-
You make a decision. Revival is a decision. It's not
-
HEIGHTI flighty. You know casa, Whatever will be will be.
-
I know your young ones do not know that song,
-
but the old ones will understand.
-
Kay. You know it.
-
Speaks of being hurtful. It speaks of disease, derelict.
-
This is this is.
-
What that word wicked. That the word that the master user.
-
It is derelict, vicious, mischief, malicious even means the devil.
-
Oh, lazy. You know what the word lazy means. Hesitate.
-
It means tardy, always late? Oh are you always late
-
to church?
-
Oh?
-
Let's not the Lord call us tardy. Okay, let us
-
not let him not call us och neuros. That's what
-
it means, a neros. That's the word there was used here,
-
ach neuros. Reluctant or reluctant to do God's are you guys?
-
You mean to say God?
-
You may say your face may be like that, but
-
in your space, God sees the eye doesn't look at
-
your face.
-
Nice.
-
You know this about God. It's an attitude that is lazy, unambitious.
-
You know, if we are unambitious for the wordly things,
-
that's okay. Let us not be unambitious for the Lord's things,
-
because the Lord equates that to wickedness.
-
And laziness. Are you still with me?
-
I hope I'm not, you know, being so harsh with
-
I'm not being harsh with you.
-
I'm being harsh with mere Lord.
-
This is what the Lord spoke. This is on his heart.
-
Have you ever heard the five the parable of the talents?
-
Like this or not?
-
This is actually a deeper understanding of what is trying
-
to get to us. So you ought this is what
-
the Master said? So you ought to have deposited my
-
money with the bankers at my coming, I would have
-
received back my own with interests.
-
You know what is this? Deposit money? See?
-
This is the difference between wickedness and lack of confidence
-
or something like that.
-
This is it.
-
There is always something we can do to serve in
-
the house of the Lord, however small it might be,
-
but it is a forward step that grows. I give
-
you an example of what could be. I give you
-
an example of what could be in the bank with interests.
-
You want to know, haven't you always wondered what scripture
-
mean by you put the money in the bank and
-
get interest.
-
In this context, it means this.
-
What was the great commission going into the world and
-
preach the gospel? Making disciples. Right, that's the biggest thing
-
on God's heart, right, the most important thing. How many
-
of us do it? Don't put up your hands, how
-
many of us do it? Almost all of us don't.
-
To be true, you know what is the money in
-
the bank. At least, at the very least, we serve
-
as a host in the house of the Lord, welcoming something,
-
welcoming somebody, or we clean the church, or we arrange
-
the furniture, or maybe we make some food for expresso,
-
or maybe we decorate the place. You know, that is
-
you know what that is. That is not trading the talent,
-
you know, because the talent is not dead. But you
-
know what that is, That is just putting the money
-
in the bank to gain some interest. At least, when
-
the Lord sees us her, we don't come to him
-
empty handed. We come to him having done something for
-
his kingdom. The Lord is actually telling us that he
-
is looking for even user to work with us. This
-
tells me he's looking for a way with which not
-
to be upset with us. He's looking for a way
-
with which to approve us. At least the guy said, hey,
-
hey Lord, I'm not very clever. I'm not very able.
-
So I was afraid to lose your money. But I
-
was quite sure that if I put the money in the bank,
-
at least I gave you some interest. The very most,
-
the Lord would have said that I've got some more
-
work to do with you.
-
Now, mind not mine. Come, I'll help you.
-
Rather than away with you, you wicked person. Even what you have,
-
I take away from you and give it to the
-
one who's God. Is that how we want the Lord
-
to valuidate us. At the very least there is something
-
we can do. There's a very least there's a way
-
that we can still.
-
Please the Lord.
-
Doesn't that tell you something good about your God? He's
-
not out to get us, you know. The Lord is
-
you know what is the statement, I'm out to get you,
-
I'm out to destroy you. Lord is not like that.
-
He is out to bless us. He wants to find
-
that opportunity to approve us. He wants that opportunity to
-
do something good for us. Are we giving him that opportunity.
-
I want to say this to you, and this.
-
Will ending versus ending ending.
-
And I think I got five minutes ago. I'm reaching
-
right time. I'm doing well for time time up already
-
oh yo, sorry, but not so sorry. I'm ending in
-
the last three in the next three minutes. So is this, Ah,
-
don't lose everything. Okay, let's end with this. Don't lose everything.
-
That only happens when we do nothing. You know, when
-
you do nothing, guess what you lose everything. Isn't that
-
quite funny? You got money in your pocket, right, I'm
-
not going to spend it. I'm not going to use it.
-
I'm going to keep in my pocket and I'm not
-
gonna do anything. And next thing you put your hand
-
in the pocket, money's not there. Don't be like that.
-
Don't lose everything. This only happens when we do nothing.
-
It's the master's house. This is not just a church.
-
Always remember it is the master's house. When you come
-
to the Master's house, you should come as a servant,
-
not as a visitor, not as a restaurant goer.
-
This is not a restaurant. He's the house of the Lord.
-
He gives talents only to his servants, not visitors. Visitors
-
who keep going from one church to another, take God
-
for a cook or a chef, and go to his
-
restaurants called churches, to simple cuisine called the word. Their
-
years are tickled with good food, and they will not
-
trade the talents God has given them, nor will they
-
serve God in any capacity to give God interest. They
-
want to come in and leave, and I'll end with
-
the statement, what a dangerous place to be in. Guys,
-
the Lord wants to bless you. He wants to help,
-
He wants to turn your life around. He wants to
-
give you joy.
-
He wants to.
-
Turn your morning into dancing you're sorry into joy. He
-
wants to bless you. Let's give him every opportunity we
-
can for him to do that for us.
-
