You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
So let's begin with the introduction and what this is about,
-
what these twelve core values is about, and what it
-
is Now? How many of you believe in the importance
-
of values?
-
Yeah? Values? You know? How many have you actually write
-
down your values? Yeah?
-
Yeah, we always but if you must have got value,
-
but do you write down your values? Oh? You know,
-
sometimes it's good to have values in it. You always say, oh,
-
we must have values, but we hardly write it down.
-
You know.
-
It's like, you know, it's good to have a good diet,
-
but you don't specify, like what kind of diet you
-
should have? You know, you just you know, go by
-
your feeling. And that's exactly what happens.
-
You know.
-
If you don't articulate, and you don't what do you
-
call it? Pan down and list down the specific values,
-
or give it flesh, give it a structure and give
-
it order. You will always end up going by feeling.
-
You know what I'm saying. No, there's a very popular saying,
-
you know. You know, they says a man a person
-
without value is what a person without value is what.
-
It's a person that will fall for anything.
-
Okay.
-
A person without value is a person that will fall
-
for anything. It's a very powerful thing. It's not it's
-
not bad but scripture. Okay, definitely, Okay, that's popular saying,
-
and I kind of agree it's very true as well.
-
It's true, isn't it. Like I mentioned, it's like a
-
food at there. You know, you say you want to
-
eat healthy, but then the moment you go to Nazy
-
the match shop, but that's it already. It's like, oh
-
this they got a new recipe, will be run down.
-
Oh then what comes into you know, into the picture,
-
your feelings, your hunger, and then you're you know, just
-
last time you were saying, I'm gonna eat healthy, but
-
then you know, or you know, because your surrounding, because
-
of your appetite. A person without value is given to
-
their appetite, to their surrounding, to their environment as well,
-
and you're given to the moment you know that you're
-
in as well. But a person of value don't live
-
by the values or the surroundings for anything.
-
That is why we know.
-
I mentioned I recap again that a person without value
-
is a person that will fall for anything. You.
-
I'm saying, no, it's so important. Okay.
-
Now we mentioned here that you know, a vision tells
-
you the destination. You know, they say, yes, I want
-
to be healthy. I want to spend the next make
-
sure that you know I live to get to sixty
-
seventy eighty ninety so that I get to spend time
-
with my family. And I don't want to be so
-
unhealthy that I can't go anywhere. I want to be
-
able to walk and not rest for a while, you know,
-
and talk about different things. I want to be able
-
to be healthy so that you know, I don't become
-
a financial burden for my children and everything. You know
-
what I'm saying. I'm using health as an example. You
-
know what I'm saying. You know, I don't want to
-
be a burn like that, and so because of that,
-
I see health as something very important. And so you
-
have a vision as well, and the vision has always
-
has to be very very compelling. And then the mission
-
tells you the reason and or the strategy that you're
-
about to go to achieve it. And so what this
-
year you have a mission. My mission is to lose
-
fi ky low twenty kilo, to get my heart rate
-
below a certain thing, isn't it makes sense or not.
-
So you have a mission, and after that you've got
-
strategy or you're going to do it. I want to
-
do kito toki whatever, no, whatever you know, whatever plan
-
you want it, all you want to do. I want
-
to cut cops, I want to cut fair, I want
-
to cut protein.
-
Everything.
-
I want to cut also, whatever you know. But you
-
then after that you have a strategy. But then you
-
must understand that values, okay, are the feel Okay, you
-
can have the vision, you can have the strategy, but
-
your values are the ones that actually carry you through
-
you know what I'm saying. No, your values are what
-
you carry that's most important. You might feel that you
-
want to lose weight, but your value system is what
-
carries you through. You I'm saying not values are what
-
feel you. Values are what is that that you carry
-
That are the what you call it. The ethics are
-
the moral compasses that you and that you hold true
-
and true in your life that you will not compromise
-
that that defines you as well. And so when you
-
are a person of strong value, it is very evident
-
by the people who interact with you.
-
You know what I'm saying, Now, if.
-
You feel timeliness and something important, the people around you
-
will know because the moment they are five minutes, not
-
that you're you're about to be five minutes, that people
-
will chase you like crazy already true, not makes sense
-
or not true? Not If people value their time, if
-
you're wasting their time, they will let you know one
-
it's true or not.
-
They will know.
-
They will look at you like, bro, what are you
-
talking about? Let's go, I'll get this gone. What you know, Hey,
-
we've got the things to do as well. So value
-
is very very clear and apparent to those who interact
-
with you as well.
-
But a lot of.
-
Times values get you know, I would say, get put
-
in the backstage because sometimes it is tangible. Sometimes it
-
is not that obvious, okay. And when I say not obvious,
-
is that some values you take a bit to see.
-
You know, you value integrity, You don't always see integrity
-
unless the person is put through a moral challenge.
-
You get what I'm saying.
-
You know you believe in a perseverance, but you don't
-
get to see perseverance and unless and until you go
-
through a prolonged DENI rejection, denial or confusion as well
-
that you continue to persis as well, and values are
-
the things that carry us through opposition, challenges, and seasons
-
of difficulty. I'm saying no, values. We might not have money,
-
we might not have the best of things, you know,
-
but we believe in sticking together as a family. We
-
believe no matter what, we will always praise God. We
-
believe then no matter what, we will never commit certain
-
things to obtain what we like. You know what I mean, right,
-
because you hold onto it no matter what. So challenges
-
often brings out or reveal the values. They are always
-
embedded in us. Values are character and it reveals what
-
we are where no one is watching. You can say
-
all you want, you can put on the social media
-
whatever it is. Yeah, success, success, success, But then who
-
you really are is when no one is watching. And
-
see what I'm saying now, it is really really who
-
you are now. The for this series, we are going
-
through the twelve core values so that the church as
-
not in the extracts, so that all our partners and
-
also our visitors may begin to understand the importance of
-
value and also what extra stands for as well. So
-
I'm not as we cover through these different series, it's
-
not just about Hey, you know about an institution. All
-
these values is at the institutional level, but it's also
-
at the individual level as well. Okay, So all these questions,
-
all these values that we cover true, we hope that
-
you begin to reflect and apply in your own personal
-
life as well. Okay, So except for example, they don't.
-
When I talk about the first one, which is spirit fueled,
-
you begin to ask yourself as well before I talk
-
about or whether my work is successful or not, because
-
all these things I have to ask, Can I begin
-
to ask myself?
-
Am I a spirit fueled person? Yeah?
-
What I'm saying now it's a very very important thing.
-
And you begin to why is Then you begin to
-
ask why it is spirit feel important?
-
So it's not just a noun.
-
That you're or a phrase that you always speak, but
-
it's something that you begin to reflect upon as well.
-
And the twelve plus one course, what they call values
-
that we cover through you must understand, these are all
-
be bigger and there's a not if you see not now.
-
But we actually recorded a series of core value videos.
-
Actually I was the host and Pascanda for us. The
-
uh you know, the guests, you know who is actually
-
expounding all these things. So maybe in a few months
-
time you'll see my face again, you know, going through
-
with pastor and interviewing him as well. But all these
-
core values come from the Scripture and especially from the
-
Book of X. Now you see the connection Book of X.
-
You know Church of X. You know X church. You know,
-
see the connection there. So it's actually connected there, okay.
-
And actually a lot of it comes from X chapter
-
through Okay, through two okay, okay, So let you know
-
it's coming from Scripture, not just from it's not from us,
-
but our experience confirms or what they call it gives
-
understanding to a lot of these values that the Bible
-
preaches about. Now, why do we cover through this as well? Yes,
-
we talked about the importance of the values, but why
-
this season you know why?
-
Through all the church as well.
-
And the goal is so that we begin to build
-
something okay, that outlast the founders. Okay, because pass can
-
flash this out. You know, he prayed and he understood,
-
you know, he begins, God begins to speak to him
-
and say, hey, you're not just leading a church.
-
You must understand that.
-
You know that what you are is a person, that
-
you are the vessel where I put all the important
-
values onto you that you are leading the church based
-
on these values. But now instead of just telling them
-
go do this and do that, become like a joystick.
-
You know, you need to give them the DNA. You
-
need to give them what is the feel that drives you?
-
So that and you unpacked it so that you begin
-
so that when you when you go through this, you
-
begin to understand, Oh, that is why a lot of
-
things or maybe a lot of things are done in
-
such a manner, why we are going into this direction,
-
why we practice certain things as well. So it gives
-
a lot of context and understanding. And also it won
-
all these values and the ennat will not just stop
-
at past the cane, but you begin to trickle down
-
to all of us as well, just like parents to
-
their children. So I tell you to wake up early
-
or wake up in time. It doesn't mean that you
-
just do it, and then when you go to college
-
or you go somewhere else, you don't begin to do it.
-
Then you begin to understand, Oh, now I understand. No,
-
being on time, it's not just about me, because it's
-
about honoring other people's time. It's to show that I'm
-
always prepared as well, and so you begin to understand
-
this value, you know, instead of doing what, you begin
-
to know the why for all things as well. And
-
it's also so that our future generations and partners will
-
be better than we were before. Okay, yes, you can handle,
-
you can let your children inherit, money, property, But the
-
most important thing you can leave behind is values. Okay,
-
this is what's the most important legacy we leave now.
-
Values are non negotiables, okay, non negotiables and must not
-
be compromised. That is why values are actually grown. They
-
are not suddenly out of no ware you pick it
-
up one because people don't just pick and choose, you know,
-
people actually become convinced of the values that they hold
-
in their life. You know what I'm saying now, Because
-
everybody wants to survive, everybody wants to succeed, and once
-
they go through a lot of experiences, they begin to
-
understand and begin to appreciate what why these values are
-
so important and sometimes even the true a toughest of times,
-
you see these values carry you through and you begin
-
like you begin to cement, and you begin to put
-
into concrete some of these values as well. And that
-
is why a lot of values. You realize that it's
-
very it's very very hard to change one. It's not
-
meant to change if it's really really important, and it's
-
very very true.
-
So that's why we talk about values.
-
It's not something that you can you know, negotiating A today,
-
I be on time, and now time I don't be
-
on time.
-
Very hard one.
-
And not to live a family like that. One, very
-
very very very challenging. Today I'll be honest, but when
-
I go to work, I don't need to be honest.
-
One very very challenging one. A no, and you'll find
-
yourself are being torn, you know, and not only torn,
-
you doubt yourself.
-
And then people will look at you.
-
And when people begin to see who you really are
-
and that you're not consistent, you will find you are
-
being conflicted and being challenged as well. Okay, And why
-
we must continue to not be what they collect to
-
not negotiate with some of these important values, it's because
-
all of us we have different life experiences, true or not,
-
all of us have different life experiences, but we must
-
be careful that experiences must not be the main determinant
-
of our values.
-
You know what I'm saying.
-
No, Yes, no, yeah, no, no, convince that a lot,
-
but it is. Some people say yes, some people say true. No,
-
you don't why because sometimes when you're young, you experience
-
something and you have a negative experience of it. That doesn't
-
mean that it's the truth. You know, maybe you when
-
you were young, you used to trust someone, maybe a friend,
-
and you share a secret, and then that one person
-
betrayed you. And because so that you will never trust
-
anyone even when you get enter into a marriage as well,
-
or someone that you will say you will never trust anyone,
-
or you know, and someone gets near to you, you
-
are very suspicious and you begin to examine the person
-
inside out, and when the person accidentally offended you, you
-
take on the greatest hurt and you start to rap
-
and pour out all these angs upon this person. And
-
then what I'm talking about because you never process what
-
you experience properly, and you think that is true.
-
I'm saying now you.
-
Never process is what you have and you think that
-
experience determines everything.
-
No, it's not that.
-
And actually because of that, a lot of us carry
-
a lot of what it hurts you know, you know,
-
and and I've experienced this in my family, in my
-
in my back in my hometown. That's what I've seen
-
until Like you know, sometimes you know, adults can be
-
very forthcoming to you, say, I'm I find it very
-
hard to change. I hear people telling me I find
-
it very hard to change the h right now because
-
of what I experienced. So I don't want to, but
-
I can't help it. You know, I'm saying, No, that's
-
why you've got to be very very careful. You mean,
-
you don't allow your experiences to become your values. Okay,
-
that is why we need the Bible, you know what
-
I'm saying. No, we need the Bible to rewire you know,
-
some of our experience. There are so many things that
-
I experience in my life when I was young. I
-
have to really rewire, really rier as I grow older,
-
as well, as I begin to humble myself.
-
I used to I used to be upset with certain people.
-
Maybe some of you are upset with God or disappointed
-
with God or disappointed with life as well. And you
-
keep holding it like that, and you look at the
-
world with a certain view and filter as well, you
-
gotta begin to humble yourself. You begin to surrender yourself.
-
Say God, I don't want to be this coount person.
-
I don't want to become a prisoner of my past
-
or my experiences, but I want you to come into
-
my life and change it. And as you got, and
-
your presence surrender will begin to determine your future and
-
also heal your past. You get what I'm saying, that
-
your presence surrender will begin to direct your future and
-
heal your past as well. So don't let your past
-
control you like that. And it's so so important.
-
Everybody, Okay, so far, it's very, very very important. That's
-
why I say this is not just for the child,
-
especially a.
-
Very personal thing as well, you know. And I just
-
want to show a slight here. It's not I don't know.
-
I don't know whether he's a Christian, but I think
-
he is. I don't know, but I just told it,
-
just quite profound words. Guy on the earth, dude was okay,
-
And then he says, I try not to become a
-
person of success. Try because he knows that everyone around him,
-
everybody has been trying to find success.
-
But rather try to.
-
Be a person of value. And that is one thing
-
that every one of us can choose. You know what
-
I'm saying. Now, we can't choose a lot of times
-
our circumstances and experience. You can't choose the family you
-
grow up with. You know, you can't choose your parents,
-
You can't choose your siblings, and a lot of times,
-
a lot of things in life you can't really choose
-
as well.
-
You know what I'm saying now.
-
Some of you, Hey, you know, I got to take
-
care of my kids and then you know, but because
-
of that you have to give, because you know your
-
children needs you. But you say, oh for me, But no,
-
I can choose the values I hold as well, so
-
that I'm not a prisoner, I'm not a victim. But
-
your values begin to redeem your circumstances. Okay, everybody, Okay,
-
so far all right, So our value is important. So
-
one of the thing is that you can do in
-
your life is that you go back. There could be
-
of time. You know, I thought that this was a
-
very good, uh exercise by pasts Andrew, now begin to
-
list down some of your values. You can list on
-
some of your values by start asking a few questions.
-
You know, what do you enjoy most?
-
What do you really fear? Why?
-
What are some of the things that you've been so
-
scared of the last week, the last month. Why why
-
is that fear? You don't just say I'm said, just
-
say bas But you know, are you fearful because you
-
know you're a confused?
-
Are you overwhelmed? Are you lacking confidence? Is your selfish
-
thing issue? It's your trust issue? And then ask yourself,
-
what do you enjoy? Oh?
-
Why I like to be on my own? You know,
-
I like to have my own time? Ask why? Be specific?
-
Why why do you enjoy? Is it a false negative
-
or a positive positive? You get me right, a false
-
positive or a positive? But what I mean is that
-
do you enjoy it because you're avoiding something? Or do
-
you enjoy something because of the purity and the truth
-
of something?
-
You get me right.
-
Some people like to have their own time because they
-
just don't like to be with people. But then go
-
be people. Why do you don't like to be with people?
-
Or because everybody just want to use me? There is
-
not a really good enjoyment. You're just avoiding me.
-
You get me right. But why do you do the
-
things that you love so that you trigger us?
-
Hey, I actually like drawing because it expresses myself. I
-
actually like singing because because you know, I feel like
-
I need to express you know, or I enjoy a
-
certain thing. Ask yourself, why was there a memory, something
-
triggered that make you feel like you want to do this?
-
And then begin to ask yourself, is there someone that
-
you admire? What do you admire about this person? What
-
is that value when you speak to this person? That's
-
the person give you an image that you want to become?
-
Why the image?
-
If you forty fifty, sixty, seventy year or if you
-
are that person who did make you happy to become
-
that person? Would that person's what that person hath make
-
you happy?
-
Why?
-
And you begin as you ask some of this question,
-
you begin to start a a. These are values that
-
are always there, but they are not ordered. Yeah, man,
-
they are not ordered. You never put it out. It's
-
like you have a pizza, but you're never deconstructed to
-
know what's the ingredients. You know, you can't say. Now
-
you begins like, oh oh, then you ask it out.
-
Actually I am like that, Actually I really really like this.
-
You start to be very intentional about your internal system
-
as well. Okay, ask yourself some of this question. Ask yourself, well,
-
what was the last time that you enjoy the memory.
-
Where do you like to go? Why do you like
-
to sleep late? You know, like, why do you say?
-
Why do you like to do them?
-
Scroll?
-
Sometimes doing scrolling it's not because you like content, but
-
because it just takes you away.
-
Why do you like to sleep late? Why do you
-
like to sleep early? Why?
-
Why can't you sleep one hours? These are things that
-
you begin to You don't settle for that you ask.
-
You'll intentionally interrogate yourself. You don't let yourself get away
-
with it. You know what I'm saying now. We also
-
like to lie to ourselves to get away with things.
-
But ask yourself, why do you do these things? You know?
-
You know what I'm saying now. This is intentional living,
-
you know. So you don't let yourself get away until
-
you nail it down. Okay everybody, Okay, so far all right?
-
So next move on to our first call value. What's
-
the first call value? Spirit?
-
Fail Ah, some of people might have a disagreement. Hey,
-
the first core value in our life as a Christian
-
should be word the Bible scripture. That's true, Okay, that's
-
very very true. I'm not gonna I love the Bible,
-
I love the reading, the work God. I love to
-
study as well. I don't deny it. The Bible says,
-
what huh for God is seeking worshippers who were worshiping
-
in spirit and in truth. He didn't look for scholars,
-
you know, he didn't look for scholars. You know, people
-
who are worship in spirit and in truth. Both are important.
-
I'm not saying that one is better than both are
-
equally important, but it's very important. Why I believe that
-
it should be spirit because first of all, God is spirit.
-
One of the things when we teach about people talk
-
about under knowoing God.
-
Right, God has many atribust man.
-
God is all powerful, God is all knowing, God is
-
all present, God is holy, God is strong.
-
You know.
-
One of the first things we teach people, the first
-
thing about God we teach people is God is spirit.
-
There's one of the first thing we teach them. You know,
-
want anything else? That God is spirit, And everything that
-
we do in terms of understanding God, of knowing God
-
and even worshiping and responding to Him has to be
-
done in the moment that you realize that God is spirit,
-
that anything that you do that pleases Him, that he
-
requires a whole has to be.
-
Spiritual, not physical.
-
A lot of times we focus on the physical is
-
because we can understand. But lives are not lived for us,
-
are lived for our creator. God is spirit. Turns your
-
neighbor and say, God is Spirit. It's very very very
-
very very very important. God is Spirit. A lot of
-
people forget about that and say, oh, yeah, there's a
-
spirit and the moment people we talk about spirit, people
-
immediately go into the intangiblesoo somewhere very very you know.
-
But God is spirit and.
-
It's a very very powerful thing that we have to understand.
-
Okay. Now, now, first of all, why.
-
We talk about why being spirit feeled is so important? Okay,
-
and you just want to continue, because the Holy Spirit
-
is the promise of God. The Holy Spirit is the
-
promise of God.
-
Okay.
-
I told you before that God is Spirit, that anything
-
we do to please God is meant through the spiritual channel,
-
the medium.
-
God is Spirit. Anything to please seem to interact with Him.
-
Has to be done in the spirit. But there's a problem.
-
There's a problem. What's the problem. We are very physically minded,
-
true or not. There's a problem when we say that,
-
when I say that we are physically minded, is that
-
we find it hard to connect or to participate in
-
this spiritual realm.
-
That's true, isn't it.
-
It's very hard to interact and participate in the spiritual
-
when you're not familiar with it. But God is spirit
-
and we are called to live in there, but we
-
are not very good at That is why God has
-
to come intoward to intervene and to.
-
Provide what we really need, the Holy Spirit. You know
-
what I'm saying.
-
No, And actually, because God is spirit when he created us,
-
we are spiritual beings. Do you know that you are
-
spiritual beings or you're like you or not? You are
-
spiritual beings one or not. You might live in the temporary,
-
in the physical body, but you are spiritual beings. When
-
I say that you are spiritual beings means that you
-
actually have a spiritual life. When I say life, you
-
have a physical life. That is that you need to eat, sleep, grow,
-
you interact, you touch and feel, you can get hurt.
-
All the aspects of a life that it happens in
-
the physical also applies to the spiritual as well. You
-
need to eat, you need to grow, you need to touch,
-
You can grow weak, you can grow strong or in
-
the same all of these also happens in.
-
The spirit ritual realm as well. You have that just
-
that you can't see it.
-
But we are not very good in you know, identifying
-
and not practicing and interacting in our spiritual side as well.
-
And we when we come to the.
-
Problem, is that a lot of the spiritual things that
-
we do are very poor. Uh when you know, they
-
always fall short of reaching the standard. And the reason
-
why we always fall short and are and they're very
-
poor because we have sin. You know what I'm saying. No,
-
we have sin, and sin is a.
-
Very very, very big, big problem in our life.
-
It's like your whole It's like no, every day you
-
want to live your life up, but then you are chained,
-
you know, to a door post, or you are carrying
-
a very big one hundred kilo you know, steel ball.
-
You know, whatever you want to go, I want to do.
-
You want to drink coffee, you want to get on
-
the car, you want to come to church.
-
You be lumping on good, good, good, good and good
-
and good and good. Okay, you want to do anything.
-
Also, it's like that you have a very very big problem,
-
or maybe you have a very you know, it's not
-
a lot of times people say it's saying, it's like cancer.
-
You know, it's not just.
-
A burden you're not, but it's affecting every part of you.
-
You want to when you want to do something, or
-
so you can. Recently, my dad, you know, I had
-
a brain cancer. I tell you the band cancer was
-
so big. It can see the lumper that he can't
-
even do the basic processing. You know, he look at me,
-
he don't he can see that I'm him, but he
-
can't remember my name. Also, you know he can't. You
-
don't really know where he is. And the moment they
-
remove the tumor and one of the first things you
-
remember was memory and basic function. Sometimes the tumor is
-
so big you don't even know how to swallow as well,
-
you know what I'm saying. No, that's how like cancer
-
can put me into every single thing. But see, it's
-
the same thing as well. It is such a big thing.
-
We can't see it. Sometimes a lot of times we
-
can see cancer. So sure now, but this scene.
-
Is high thing.
-
It's affecting and invading every part of our bodily function
-
that it's causing so much damage and a problem to
-
us as well. So God comes and saves us, okay,
-
and provides his Holy spirit, okay, to do God's work.
-
You see, when we are not filled with the spirit, right,
-
we tend to do what we tend to do things
-
out our own strength.
-
True.
-
Now we say that yay, God, I trust you, I
-
really believe in you, and I say a prayer. But
-
then after that you use ninety nine point nine percent
-
of your own strength. The only thing is that you
-
sign off with Jesus name money, I do it in
-
Jesus name.
-
Do you do things all of your own strength? Okay?
-
So it's a similar way. It's like, you know you're
-
married and not.
-
It's like, oh, I know I'm gonna cook with my wife,
-
but then you do ninety nine nine point nine nine
-
percent and I say, oh yeah, me and my wife
-
cooked together as well, But then you never cook. Your
-
wife is just like that, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's why
-
the food tastes so bad and skidding.
-
You know what I'm saying. Now, you really you say
-
you do, but you don't.
-
Okay, it's by name money, okay. So Zakaria four chapter six.
-
Chapter four six says, not by mine, not by power,
-
but by my spirit, says the Lord of Hosts. Okay,
-
So the Holy Spirit is the one the secret sauce.
-
Okay that actually not the secrets are the main ingredient.
-
Okay. Then we need in our lives to.
-
Do God's work, to obey his commands, and to walk
-
his will as well.
-
Okay.
-
And this is so important that when you know, if
-
you read the Book of X right, you know, it
-
says that you know, in the very beginning that Jesus
-
gathered his disciples, you know, and he is going to
-
assent to heaven to return to the Father. Okay, and
-
he's gonna He gave them a commandment go and preach
-
and make disciples of all nations by saying you're.
-
Supposed to do that.
-
You're graduated, ready, okay, Okay, I'm gonna send you out, ready,
-
go to work, ready, okay. But then before you go
-
to world, there's one thing.
-
You do. Not do any of these, but you wait
-
for the Holy Spirit. You must do. It's so the
-
test are it's not done.
-
You know. The final test out was that will they
-
wait or will they do out their own strength? That
-
was actually a big test, you know, okay, very very
-
very very big test.
-
You know.
-
Actually it happened in the Old Testament as well. As
-
Moses went up to the mountain, there are to receive
-
the commandment. Okay, the people waited and waited. Hey, well
-
I put the Moses out. I think he went up
-
to the heaven already. So people couldn't wait enough. Actually,
-
it's a parallel with the Book of Accident. So what
-
did they do? They couldn't wait anymore, and they became
-
fleshly minded. And then what did they do? They begin
-
to build a golden calf. They begin to build a
-
golden calf. Being a golden calf, they became fleshly mind.
-
They love God, they follow God, they call God their God.
-
But yet they are fleshly minded. They are not spirit filled.
-
And out of their ignorance, they created a golden calf.
-
Their spirituality is so called expression was channel wrongly, what
-
was perverted into a golden car And on that day
-
three thousand and nine. But in the Book of Eggs,
-
when they waited for the Holy Spirit, that three thousand
-
got safe. It's a parallel, no parallel, Okay, it's quite amazing. Okay,
-
So the Holy Spirit reminds us of Christ's teaching. You know.
-
John chapter fourteen, verse twenty six says, but the helper
-
the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name.
-
He will teach you all things and bring to your
-
remembrance all things I said to you. Okay, moving on,
-
just taking the time. Okay, Now we need the Holy
-
Spirit to guide us, to help to walk in the
-
spirit as well. We're all called to be spiritual beings.
-
But the Holy Spirit is the one that enables us.
-
Okay.
-
So that you know, it says here, being spirit filled
-
means we are constantly filled with the spirit. Constantly filled
-
with the spirit, okay. Because if you are not constantly
-
feeling the spirit, something else will take its space, okay,
-
he said. Otherwise we will be filled with other things
-
like you or not. You will be feeled one like
-
you or not. You're either are filled with the spirit
-
or you feel with something else one.
-
Okay, It's true. On something will take its place one.
-
It's like a physics, you know, something will just come
-
and feel it one, okay, you say. In non relationis
-
chapter five, verse sixteen to verse seventeen says I say,
-
then walk in the spirit, and you shall not fulfill
-
the last of the flesh. So the Bible is very
-
clear that you must choose either you choose one or
-
the other, okay. And the opposite of the spirit is
-
the last.
-
Of the flesh.
-
Then Verse seventeen says, for the for the flesh last
-
against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. And
-
these are contrary to one another, so that you do
-
not do the things that you wish.
-
Okay.
-
Now some of you here will be like okay, pastor
-
here the spiriting ray a lot ready, okay, a lot
-
of spirit. But you need to boil it down for us.
-
What can I do after this summon?
-
Right?
-
You know, when I go and have my lunch, when
-
I go back to my family, when I go back
-
to my car, what can I do?
-
Because I don't know.
-
It's like everything is calling me to do something else already?
-
How can I begin to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
-
True?
-
That's the most important thing, is there? I'm telling you
-
why and stuff like that. How right now? How do
-
I begin to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
-
Okay? Now, this is my last.
-
Life, and I'll give you a few questions for you
-
to reflect upon as I draw to a close here. Okay,
-
First of all, how many of you want to be
-
filled with the whole spirit? You are sincerely sincerely, are okay?
-
And then let's go through these steps. These are actually
-
you go through your homes because I prepare the notes.
-
But I thought that these are very good questions. Think
-
about it now, and you're going to think about it
-
the homestre that this is a preview of what homes
-
notes would be.
-
Okay.
-
First of all, this is all scripture of one Have
-
you ask for the Holy Spirit?
-
Have you ask on not? Bible says that you know,
-
you know?
-
How much you don't say that the Father will not
-
give a serpent for his son who asked for a break.
-
How much more would the father I'm paraphrasing here, how
-
much more would the Father give the Holy Spirit to
-
those who ask of him? The first thing you have
-
to ask? How many of you actually ask? You say
-
you want one is one thing, but you have to ask.
-
You say, oh, I want to eat, but I never
-
asked for my parents. It has actually happened before. You
-
think it's mixed sense. But you want, but you don't ask.
-
Because ask is the next level of your desire, putting
-
it into action and into faith as well.
-
Do you actually ask? And why is it that you're
-
not asked?
-
This is an important question, why is it that you
-
do not ask a lot of people think that, Oh
-
I thought, saying yes immediately I got the holy spirit. Really,
-
actually you might be mistaken. Okay, you have to ask.
-
God will never put onto you what you know. He
-
will never violate your holy your your personal choice.
-
Right now, you ask. I won't force my kids to eat.
-
O will hoighly encourage them to eat, but I can't
-
force them to open their mouth and shove it in it.
-
And like you know, I can't know. Please eat, you know,
-
but you have to do it on your own as well.
-
And as they grow older, I expect them to ask.
-
You can't mean that is that on me reminding them?
-
You know, you have to ask. And so the first
-
thing you have to do is have you ask? Are
-
there any reasons that is stopping you from asking? Do
-
you believe?
-
And it's a very important question. Do you believe that
-
God is a good God?
-
Or like I said earlier, has experiences in your life
-
altered your perception about God? Either God doesn't care, God
-
doesn't bother with you, or God is not good? God
-
him saying so, it really begins to ask you, Now,
-
why have you not asked? You expect that God knows everything.
-
You know, know maybe it say God, you realize that Hey,
-
when you say God knows everything means you think of
-
God as a very impersonal God. And God is just
-
there to you know, automate everything you like an AI
-
agent day. God is a personal being, you know. Okay,
-
have you asked? Secondly, if you have asked, have you surrendered?
-
Oh? You mean I need to surrender? You need?
-
You mean I need to surrender my space, my time.
-
And it's when you when I invite it, like, please
-
come into my life. You can speak into all these
-
situations that I know when you're coming to my life.
-
I know what you're asking, but I need you a
-
lot of.
-
People put God as an option, but they don't really
-
need him. And when you ask like that from God,
-
God is giving his Holy Spirit are and you make
-
it optional it's insulting one. And no, you know what
-
I'm saying. No, God will not be mocked now He
-
is He, God is spirit. But God is a holy God. Okay,
-
God is the Holy God. Remember this? Okay, So have
-
you surrendered? Thirty?
-
If you ask? If you surrendered?
-
Have you received? When I say you receive? Maybe you
-
do all these things, But you're waiting for a sign. God,
-
give me a sign?
-
Why? Maybe it's in your heart? Have you why is
-
you asking? Have you liked faith?
-
And this is and it's not. It's not mockery of you,
-
you know, it's not mocreed. It's like, why why do
-
you need a sign? Some things, yes, but a lot
-
of things you don't need that sign one and all?
-
Do you need a sign to make to order latte
-
or not scramble or sunnyside, to sit down.
-
Here, share or not? Or give me a sign?
-
No? God is give you the wisdom, asking confidence and
-
receiving confidence. God, according to your word, not to my
-
feelings or the sign according to your word. As I ask,
-
as I surrendered in just the same I receive it
-
by faith. It's the same way when you partake communion.
-
I'm saying, not do you partect communion? Lord, give me
-
a sign before partect communion? How mean if you do that?
-
Give me a Signist is not the bread? I want
-
a sour dough bread, you know, I want the proper cracker,
-
perfect shape. One. Then I only eat your partic of
-
it by faith. You come saying, ah, so you received
-
by faith as well, because all the things I say
-
in order, you do it by faith as well. Then
-
the fourth thing, have you listened? You ask for the spirit,
-
but have you listened? Do you make space in your
-
head and your heart to listen to his voice? Or
-
if you've been too busy it's your life been too
-
noisy in your life?
-
All these are have scriptures? Why now?
-
Okay, however you know all these things, but then you rest.
-
You're too busy, you know, and there's something you have
-
to change. The fifth one, have you trusted? Have you trusted?
-
God gives you the spirit, it's like you know, but
-
and he's guiding you to do certain things, prompting you.
-
But have you trusted? You know?
-
Do you follow this leading even when it doesn't make sense?
-
Or you lean on your own understanding. You can hear
-
as good opinions, but then you never trust one. And no,
-
you know what I'm saying. No, sometimes we espouse, we
-
do that. You know, my wife talking, I said, yeah, okay,
-
good suggestion. You don't trust one, and you know I'm
-
talking about you're talking to a hollow men one.
-
You know.
-
Some time my wife said, yeah, yeah, yeah, you hear me,
-
But do you trust me? And that's another thing. Do
-
you trust not children as well? They listen, but do
-
they trust you. I'm just doing it because I'm doing it.
-
But do they trust? Okay? Have you obeyed? Now?
-
God gives the spirit to those who obey. You know
-
in the book Effects you must obey. It's not obedience
-
for the things that God is speaking to you, but
-
your obedience opens up for future blessings as well, for
-
future obedience as well.
-
You know what I'm saying.
-
Now, If you cannot obey now, what makes you think
-
that God is going to trust.
-
You to obey few the future things? You know?
-
So what I'm saying it's very very very important. Okay,
-
So when you obey God, it's going to pour out more.
-
It's going to review more things into your life. The
-
next one, have you worship? Okay, you're here, but then
-
has your another feeling of your hosts begin to lead
-
you to respond to respond by worshiping, or you're just
-
like normal yalla? You know see, but a person who
-
is spilled with the spirit is that Oh I yielded,
-
and I ask and.
-
I obey, and all this part of my life begins
-
to live.
-
You more day, God, you are more important than anything else,
-
and I worship you. I'm not saying. With worshiping, it's
-
not just about songs, you know. All worship is about
-
playing five songs when I get to work, you know,
-
and then when I come back, I put worship music.
-
That's worship. There's a nice things to get you into
-
their mind. But worship is about surrendering your life, you know,
-
putting God as the worship worth.
-
You know, utmost worth. You are more valuable.
-
Than anything else. Okay, That's that's what we call worship.
-
And are you devoted? Do you begin to build your
-
daily habits and disciplines that keep you continually washed with
-
His word? You know what I'm saying. You can do
-
all this, but are you devoted? Are you filled with
-
His presence? Are you shaped by His commands? And you
-
got your quiet time and all your prayers? You get mean? Right,
-
all this feeling must lead to a devotion as well.
-
It's like you're getting married, you know, with your spouse.
-
I like to use this a lot, you know, getting married,
-
but then you still live your life like a single
-
like that, you know or do you realize it? Hey?
-
After I'm married, every time I always look.
-
Forward to having dinner, you know, with my family, with
-
my children, and after a while you make time to
-
go on holidays or we go simple things for mama
-
here and there. You see you I mean right, because
-
you are devoted. You realize the true things in life
-
requires intentional showing. It requires intentional growing your family and
-
your romance and your Your marriage doesn't happen by chance.
-
You intentionally grow it. It is the result of it.
-
You don't just one day because you fight and that's it.
-
You're no longer my spouse. Ready, Okay, you actually grow it.
-
And lastly, you ask, now do you surround or you're
-
being surrounded by good and godly things as well? The
-
question says that are you surrounding yourself? We've good and
-
godly influences that continually inspire and disciple you.
