You're listening to a message to go from acts Church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. The title of my message today is remembering so
-
that we have a future. You know, it's very important for us to
-
remember, right. You know. Uh, sometimes in life we forget things
-
we do forget. And you know, there's so many things you remember.
-
If you're a student, there's so many textbooks to remember. If you're young
-
working at out, lesser textbook, but more for numbers, more names,
-
right, more context remember as you grow older, contexts not important as more
-
your wife and the story is more important. If you forget that, that's
-
it. Hallelujah. You see Jesus earlier than anyone else. But yeah,
-
so remember it's important. You know. Sometimes in life you find that we
-
actually forget what to remember. Right. For example, the keys one of
-
the things that we forget where we put our keys, right, and very
-
important to know where to put our keys. For example, if you've got
-
a diarrhea, you're rushing back home if you come for your keys, the
-
love be with you. Password. That's why the most used function is you
-
forgot your password or your ID? All right? Forgot the people's names?
-
Have you ever forgot the people's names before not five minutes they introduced to you.
-
You've forgotten their names, all right. Uh, names are not very
-
easy to remember. For numbers, it's even harder this. You don't remember
-
any for numbers already. But back in those days whereby we didn't have any
-
technology, you're forced to remember for numbers. Or you have this mollit the
-
black book. You write people's name, which is like a coding let you
-
that's like re magnet something. Are looking at me, like wondering what this
-
monitor book? Alright? You buy for a couple of rings, all right,
-
and you got name, address, and tell number. You write it
-
down right, and it's small enough the points side your wallet so that you
-
go to the public pay for you just stick it out and you doubt the
-
number right. For numbers, some of us really remember what to buy the
-
grocery store, even though you set reminders and stuff, like you supposed buy
-
five, you get come up with eight, or you come up with four.
-
But sometimes you forget. The most tragic one is you actually forgot why
-
you come into the room. You remember we need to go to a particular
-
room. You went in there, like why am I here? For maybe
-
like like maybe you're in church right now? Why am I here in church?
-
Like, oh no, maybe I went to the wrong church. But
-
yeah, we forget things. But you know, forgetting is not that serious.
-
But some matters are a bit more life and death, a bit more
-
urgent, a bit more costly. For example, if you forget to something
-
at home, you have to make a U turn right, So time wasted
-
and also be a patrol is wasted. So but remember so that we kind
-
of have a future. It's important because sometimes it really starts with knowing what
-
to remember. It really starts with knowing what to remember, cause a lot
-
of things are so important, A lot of things are there's so much information
-
around to memorize and to know, right, and we forget. We actually
-
can forget what to remember, right, So some straining three verse one to
-
for the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want you know this scripture.
-
The question here is rather that the challenge with the Lord give me this
-
message was this is that we need to remember that he's our shepherd. First
-
of all, our shepherd. What does a shepherd do? A shepherd is
-
not a person that takes Instagram photograph of the sheep and posts on that a
-
shepherd is our content creator. Let's acknowledge that, all right, it's not.
-
A shepherd is a person that cares for the sheep, leads the sheep.
-
That's why the description says I shall not want it. That was the
-
shepherd cares for the sheep. We need to remember the role of a shepherd
-
because he's our shepherd. Worse to say he makes me lie down in green
-
pastures, right, couldn't be that even though we see green pastures, we
-
won't lie down. Couldn't be that he can lead us to a place but
-
we refuse to take a break. For example, some of us here are
-
taking a break, but sometimes when we're on a break on a holiday,
-
right, our mind is working, But when we are working, our mind
-
is thinking of taking a break. It's a total opposite. Sometimes the time
-
we are supposed to take a break, we don't. The time we have
-
been taking a break, we don't take a break. Right, Or the
-
weekend we're supposed to be our off days and we're supposed to switch off on
-
mope, but we're thinking about work, but when we go to work,
-
we're thinking about off days. Like that, So to say he makes me
-
lie down in green pasture upon me. Perhaps you don't like to lie down.
-
He has to make you lie down for its. You know when the
-
mom or that make a chilldren to eat because maybe because we don't like right,
-
some of you love vegetables. I know, I see all your faces
-
here, healthy. You love vegetables. Beat god is one of your favorite
-
food that you love to eat. All right, bitroot is another one you
-
love steam bitroot. I can tell you from your faces. Okay, Savi,
-
okay, just okay, sa, we don't like some of this vegetable.
-
And therefore, when the when when the doctors say you supposed to eat
-
more of a certain vegetable, we sh you don't like. You literally have
-
to force yourself to eat it. So the Bible here says, he makes
-
me lied out. He also mixed me, he leads me. Besides steel
-
waters, come on, he leads, He makes so. A shepherd doesn't
-
just provide or to care. A shepherd also leads friends, do you know
-
how hard is it for us to surrender our whole life existed to a shepherd
-
that we can't see physically. We can't see physically, For example, some
-
of us are merit merit, and you know, we submit to one another
-
and we lead the family. Right physically you can see, but Christ right
-
now, it's not in a visible form like a figure that you could see
-
or maybe something you could say, Oh, I see Jesus every day,
-
the love baby with for you. All right, you can't see. But
-
then the Bible here says that he he leads me besides still waters. You
-
know, being let it's not easy because for him to live, we have
-
to surrender. For him to live, we have to surrender. And most
-
time it's in our live journey. Friends, we allow waste app to lead
-
us. I was talking to break Field. Sometimes we listen so a husband
-
and wife gets her husband gets angry at a wife because a wife is nagging.
-
But yet at the same time, the husband wants to listen to a
-
female's voice on rais app and the wife look at the husband. Or you
-
listen to another female voice better loud. She tells you to turn right,
-
you turn right. I tell you turn right, you turn left, And
-
argument happens after that. Right, but the Bible here says, he leads
-
me besides still waters. Sometimes the live we say God, I remember he
-
as a shepherd. But I don't like your leadership. I don't like you
-
to lead me. And it's hard for us to continue with our life journey
-
with Christ if we don't allow him to lead. Right now, worse four
-
is our favorite worst. Okay, yeah, I walk to the value of
-
the shadow of death. Right, friends, all of us here whatever a
-
shallow, shallow shadow of death moment, You and I would have those moments
-
whereby refused to alone, griep with fear. Friends, griep with fear,
-
grief, uncertainty, darkness, no way out right, the value of the
-
shadow of death. Friends, it happens to all of us. They we
-
have those moments. The Bible here says, though we walk through, we
-
shall not fear. Look at the description what comforts us? God says the
-
rod and the staff comforts. I would think that his presence comforts. I
-
would think that you know what's comfortable? Friends, A soft pillow is comfortable.
-
None of us see say that there, go to sleep with a bundle
-
of sugar cane. Right, sugar kane is heard? Or rad tand have
-
you slept with the red end before? Not? It's hard, it's it's
-
it's hard, So the rod, friends, it is not made of this
-
this this rod here is not a sugar cane, all right, it's not
-
candy cane. It's it's a tough substance. Yet the rod and the stuff
-
is used friends to guide because many times, our journey friends, we choose
-
our own path and our own way. We are stubborn, we have a
-
way of ego, and we say, God, I trust you, but
-
yeah, I think I can figure this out on my own. And the
-
Bible here says that you start your and your self. Comforts me. Friends,
-
Why am I bringing all this up? It starts remembering who God is.
-
It's start knowing that he's our shepherd in our life. Because although we
-
can see a green pasture, maybe we don't like to lie down on this
-
green pasture. And we say the other, the other, the other pasture
-
of the one ship greener, one ship greater. Then you tend to go
-
that sight there. And maybe we don't like these steel waters. Friends,
-
always our old water preferences. We do. Some of you like this steel
-
water, right, our old water, praise God. So we're like mineral
-
water. Fantastic even mineral water. Friends. So if you don't trust them
-
brands, you prefer certain brand, the lod bless you, right, I
-
know when I last. We will trying to get visiting speakers who come in.
-
They give us the rider list or their their requirement, and some of
-
them being Americans, they may not know the conditions living in Malaysia. They
-
recommend the Avian water only I'm like, okay, cool, right, I
-
can't a food you there? You very much right. They will specify.
-
They will specify. So if you go ever, go to Bsy possitive and
-
get over there. Passive cat love the Scottish water. Water from Scotland Scotland
-
Highlands are fantastic. She loves it. The water that at one point that
-
I only dream bottles from by from Tasco. Right it Scottish water because it's
-
so nice to drink at one point in time that right now now it's a
-
bit better already. But but but friends, we have our own preference.
-
But maybe because even though it's it's still waters, we don't like to drink
-
from this butather or this this pond or this pool. We have own preference.
-
But God said it's not about our preference at the end of the day.
-
So we when we remember him as a shepherd, when we remember him
-
as a shepherd. Friends, we need to remember that he has to lead.
-
So a lot of people remember his tighter position. Alot of people know,
-
we know he's tighten and his position shepherd, but we never allow him
-
to function the role of a shepherd. Very important of friends, like,
-
for example, we're married, right, and you recognize that individuals your wife.
-
Recognition as your wife is one thing, but allow her to function as
-
your wife. It's a separate matter. Altogether. You must allow God to
-
function as the rule of the shepherd. Remember, no matter where we are
-
or what we're experiencing, we need to remember here he's a shepherd, no
-
matter where we are, what we're experiencing. Sometimes the value of the shadow
-
of death. Because of self preservation, we say, God, I trust
-
my own instinct more because it's I got to survive. Your answers sometimes come
-
a bit on time. I don't like to be I like to be earlier
-
right, and so it's hard. It's hard to surrender certain things. It
-
also reminds us, friends, that the role of the shepherd is to provide,
-
to lead, to guide, to comfort. That's one word he also
-
used to restore. He understands, friends, the need of our hearts to
-
think about it. He understands the needs of heart because restoration friends is so
-
key for survivor. Today our minds and our heart is constantly bombarded with pressures.
-
Given on an example will be like my heart's going off for leaders and
-
for workers of full time ministry. People right who's serving and yet have small
-
children. And yet at the same time see husband and wife serving God fitfully,
-
and their children sometimes don't understand what's happening, and it brings behind only
-
because the parents are giving the heart, serving the law. But yet the
-
children sometimes are not wanting to throw their path all their journey, and the
-
pressure sometimes that these parents, these key leaders parents goes true friends will we
-
will fully understand because at one time they know that God called them. Yet
-
at the same time they know that the families at stake, and sometimes they
-
have to make a very uh tough decision. But say, God, I
-
cannot allow my my child to go like there. Maybe I need to stop
-
planting a church for this very reason. So we therefore we need to allow
-
him to play the role of the shepherd our life. Allow him the leader's
-
guide us to restore friends. Many times that our journey we tried to look
-
for our own restoration. A result doesn't restore friends, although it's nice if
-
restore for a moment like a bandit, but it doesn't fully restore. A
-
result is nice friends and all of a sudden like like like like going for
-
a result, but to stay in the result forever friends. It's it's hard
-
because that's not real life, right, And God wants to reminder as we
-
go and progress so as to move forward in our season our life. Sometimes
-
we forget what he's like before you think about it. Sometimes every as we
-
move on ah in our season our life, we forget what it's like before
-
we forget. For example, you've twing me chapter five, verse fifteen,
-
and remember that you were slaved in the land of Egypt. God is the
-
one that has to remind the children of Viel that you were a slave in
-
the land of Egypt. You think about about it. Why does God have
-
to remind because we forget Because the moment we taste freedom, we actually forget.
-
We actually can forget when we were singer say wow, so nice to
-
find someone to fall in love with to spend the rest of your life together.
-
But you're married after ten fifteen years go oh, the day I get
-
a freedom, one day without my spouse, who we can't forget. Friends,
-
God has to remind remember that you were slaving land of Egypt, and
-
the Lord your God brought you out. Come on to the Lord your God
-
brought you out. We were one point in time, at this particular stage
-
or life like that, and we pray God heart out cry and brought us
-
a breakthrop brought us success, brought us progress. But yet at the same
-
time, God says in verse fifteen. Therefore, therefore, the Lord your
-
God command you to keep the Sabbath, to keep the commandments, to keep
-
honoring him, to keep what he has placed on your hearts. We can
-
actually forgets as you progress on. Once was a slave, but now you
-
had tasted freedom. But in the midst of the progress and freedom, God,
-
it don't remember where you come from. Because where you come from is
-
key and crucial, because at one point you dependent on me for the breakthroughth
-
at one point in time that you asked me for guidance, You asked me
-
to lead you, to guide you to restore. I did all that,
-
and God has to remind us again that don't forget the sabbath don't forget your
-
purpose, don't forget your mission, don't forget your calling. God has to
-
remind the tune of his jeal. That is not their own strength of wisdom
-
or connection that brought them out from Egypt. Point is being careful of selective
-
here, this remembering when under pressure or internet challenges. Selective remembering her her
-
husband and wife argued before and sometimes the midst of the marriage for ten or
-
a years. Maybe the husband forget the birthday once from ten years of more
-
than ten years, I'll forget both day once. You're like that or not
-
like your father, like that one instance, everything else, wipe, wipe
-
off the record, one mistake, everything else is all wrong with you after
-
that, never good, never done good entirely life. You've been buying gift
-
consistently. Maybe one time you forget or you know you you you had you
-
you you couldn't buy a gift? Why you like that one now? Remember
-
my special occasion my specially then everything else? You're always like that? Who
-
famous statement? You're always like that? Right? It does happen friends that
-
one moment, one time, the pressure, the frustration will lead us to
-
a place that everything else that was done before goes out the window. Let
-
me just show you from scripture right Extodus fourteen plus eleven, and they say
-
the Moses the tune of Vizio said the Moses, because there were no grief
-
in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in wilderness? Why have
-
you doubt us? Why have you sold dealt with us to bring us out
-
from Egypt? The tune of visual complete to Moses. Because of you love,
-
Moses, we follow you. And right now you led us to death,
-
we follow you. Now we're going to die. There is your true
-
to blame Moses, you no friends think about it? True to blame Moses
-
leading them there, But they fold It was true Moses obedience. Come on,
-
Moses, obedience experienced freedom whose obedience Moses followed the Lord. They follow
-
Moses. Moses say, come pack our backs and let's leave Egypt to the
-
problem is that everyone agreed, no one for them. They agreed. But
-
the moment that when frustration, for example, the sea moment of our life,
-
feral armies coming after you, in front of you, it's a date
-
and see, instead of taking responsibility, they choose to blame. That's why
-
sometimes we forget there was to Moses obedience, we get experienced freedom. But
-
yet because of the frustration, selective remembering, selective remembering, well, they
-
choose to blame Moses in them difference in their hands. We see where and
-
go. I want you to think for moment, friends, this is a
-
girl of people. When they left Egypt, right, God says, you
-
go up, you go up to the leadership neighbor, ask them for seaver
-
and go because you need it, you need it, you need it for
-
worship. Right, they plunder Egypt. As they exit the friends, they
-
were carrying sewer and go all the way up to the raid sea. Then
-
what happened because there was no way forward that they choose to blame Moses in
-
the why they will complete the most Moses want asks carry sewar and go.
-
No complain about the sewer and go, but complain that there was no way
-
out. Maybe perhaps because all the sewer and go they have ticket. They
-
go nowhere to enjoy And in life is always like that, friends, I
-
find that sometimes we have to begin to experience progress. Friends, while we
-
have everything. Friends, when God said no, something doesn't come away,
-
frustration comes away. Friends, Everything else is bad. After that, everything
-
else is mad you're carrying it. Sewhere and go? Why not complain about
-
the seawhear and go? The children of visual friends had sea where and go?
-
Pack There is not one of those gold chains. Okay, you asked
-
for your mom, Mom, Can you gotta have your gold chain? I
-
truly believe. And they plunder Egypt. Friend, it was sex of sex
-
of go and silver bags or back of going silver friends. It's all those
-
like moments yet in their hands. While they're complaining with see where and go
-
again, without moses obedience, there will no sealhe and go. Without Moses
-
fooling the lord, there will no selwhere and go? Friends, how come
-
they didn't complain about the sewer and go? They only complain about there was
-
no way forward just because of one event thing. All the good is wipe
-
out come on just because of one thing one even because of the way.
-
See all the good Moses that that has been wiped out, just because of
-
the race see moment. All the good Moses have done has been wiped out.
-
They were crowd to God at one point of God saved us from this
-
slave drivers, taskmasters. We cannot take it anymore. God hurt them delivered.
-
But because the one thing. All the good we wipe up. If
-
we want to remember friends, remember everything. Come on, if you want
-
to remember a person, remember everything, the good and the bad. Because
-
it can be just because of one event the husband is bad or the wife
-
is bad. It can't be friends. So therefore, friends, I want
-
to encourage you today. Friends, in the metal way you are with your
-
journey. Remember all the things that love have provided for us since day one.
-
Your crowd to God, God come to for you every step the way.
-
Some things are yes, and maybe somethings that have been known, right,
-
it doesn't mean the no outright yes. And you said God is not
-
good. It can't. It can't be. When Selena asks you yourself,
-
you serve all the time. On Selena asks you your serf if you don't
-
serve, and then she give you the funny look comes up some Selena Right,
-
So it can't be friends. All the things about all this stuff.
-
When you were not well, Selena visited you the hospital, brought one banana
-
for you, one half because a lot of the way traffic. She ate
-
half. All right, it can't be friends. That you know that that
-
that leader is an ex album visitor. You pray for you. Then after
-
that like John is Johnny is bad but never cared for me and Shu so
-
after she gets come cry, so I pray for you, just shout all
-
their names and doesn't hurt you. Before example, kid, So first it
-
starts to remember. It starts with knowing what to remember. Secondly, don't
-
have selective remembering. Finally, it's going to be this well finally so earlier
-
example. Right, remember our commitment that we made to the Lord. Come
-
on, remember the commitment you made to the Lord. It's not about commitment
-
of doing friends. It's not although people talk about commoment or you want me
-
to do more. No no, no, no no no. Before the
-
doing friends, before the doing comes our commitment towards Him. Before the doing
-
comes a commitment towards Christ. What have you committed to Christ? What have
-
you committed to Christ? Because if it's all about doing friends, then our
-
commitment is just an external The word is externally just about doing. But our
-
commitment comes towards the Lord. Friends. Jesus said in John forty six,
-
I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes
-
to the Father except to me. So, as a believer, friends,
-
our first and foremost mission is to follow him because Jesus I am the Way,
-
the Truth, and the life. So as a believer of friends,
-
our first and foremost mission is to follow him. Ah, Friends, to
-
follow him. The Lord is our shepherd. Friends don't remember this is position,
-
but remember his real not just the tighter but the functions. As a
-
believer, our first and foremost mission is to follow him. Our commitment doesn't
-
start with the church, but it starts and end with come on. It
-
starts to end with example, lunchtime. I know, okay, just be
-
my and it just to be my energy. Okay, let me. It's
-
not ends with fantastic praise a lot hallelujah. So it starts, friends,
-
It starts with Jesus and all of usty, it starts with Jesus are friends,
-
all of us. Just start everything with Christ. But as you go
-
on in life, friends, I pray all of us here and things with
-
Jesus as well, right, because you can't start with Christ, start with
-
God. But there were things and things we've got one friends seldom sometimes you
-
know, very sadly, but that's true. One time, the counsel couple
-
going to a messy, messy argument rights almost wanting to walk up on the
-
marriage. Before that, they take the time. Why you won't get married?
-
Over we pray about it. Confirmation everything the starts, all align,
-
everything all right. Newspapers come out, their name is there and things like
-
that. So everything is God okay. Everything confirm confirms because you know the
-
desire to get married so strong. Confirm a lot of things all right.
-
But argument comes, and which is narrow natural in every marriage. Okay.
-
Argument happens all the time, right to the extent that when they want to
-
walk away from the marriage day, maybe they try by, but never totally
-
surrendering. It can't start with Jesus, that end with the flesh, friends,
-
that's the danger. Someone be stuck with Jesus. But end with the
-
flesh. That means the flesh is the word ultimately leads your decision making.
-
I can't stand you anymore. I I can't take this pressure anymore. And
-
maybe perhaps we're exalted a lot of things above God. That's why I'll come
-
remember our commingment towards him, friends, because if he's our shepherd, friends,
-
therefore, whenever we are stress, he restores. You don't restore or
-
stock up your freege. If your fish is not empty. You try stuff
-
in your freege stuff and stuff after that you you f I expiry stuff.
-
Have you ever discovered xpirbray stuff before your fresh? You know nineteen ninety nine
-
you thousand, God, what happens? It happens because you're fishing so full,
-
and something said the quarter button, I've got to use it. Use
-
butter sometimes you you you put it some at the back corner, somewhere you
-
open you open a packet of spices, just on it for the one recipe
-
that you put it back in, maybe thinking and wish it. They use
-
it again, but ultimately it gets stack and stack, it gets powered up
-
back all the way it'side. Have you seen this cou that I still got
-
un from last last season? You tree? Have we finish it? Someone
-
give me a box of deent Oh fantasy praase God was eating it that there's
-
so much big from the last one didn't finish eating, which I told myself,
-
I'll finish it. That always last piece. We always say I'll finish
-
it right, but we never end up doing it because something new comes away.
-
First, start to envy Jesus, frends. Don't start with God,
-
end with the flesh a right, let me just let me just on your
-
every other point after this, this depends on our knowledge trends. If we
-
say we start the asker with Jesus, it depends on our knowledge, understand
-
the acceptance, cides, and conviction that Jesus is first for the rest of
-
our life. Wow, mouthful. It starts with our knowledge and understanding.
-
Friends, all of us here, I presume that we are believers. Okay,
-
we understand the name Jesus, or we know the name Jesus. But
-
the question here is is the knowledge of who God is? The Bible of
-
friends, the Bible is not there for us to look good when library you
-
put the Bible there like Encyclopedia last time. Back in those days in the
-
eighties, none of the internet came out. Every family once have Excyclopedia right,
-
because you look really smart on your bookshelf right. A two is that
-
you are the full volume one. Sometimes your volume is missing between because your
-
neighbor bore your boat now returned back because you can't take it right. Look
-
really, friends, the knowledge and understanding. Come on, all of us
-
here, have a form of let's say we understand the name Jesus and maybe
-
through the preaching, you understand a form of it, but nothing like going
-
to God's word and having a full fullness understanding. I was talking to one
-
of our partners in our church once one time after the x Men devotion,
-
say, I want you to know that today the preacher x Men devotion talk
-
about our quiet time. I don't like reading the Bible, I said,
-
why Bible is so hard to read? So hard to read. He's not
-
his main language is not English, so hard to read. I don't understand,
-
I said, I understand that. Okay, Sometimes the word of God,
-
uh, which I would depending on the translation us could be a bit
-
more challenging. So I prefer. I prefer to listen to messages. I
-
say, brother, please, okay, don't depend your life on the messages
-
because sometimes a preacher only for forty five minutes. But the way your preach
-
is so easy to understand, I say, that's not That's not the way.
-
Friends. You must learn how to read god'sild for yourself so you have
-
a better understand how to apply it to your life. So it was explained
-
it to him and he go like, I'll try. I said, why
-
don't you try with a version. Okay, if you're using new king jams.
-
You don't understand that a new living translation, I say, really don't
-
understand new living transition. Okay, I just start with a messageler, but
-
don't stay there, right, So it starts with the knowledge understanding that finally
-
the acceptance come on. You can have knowledge and understanding, but you don't
-
have acceptance. Had you know, friends, there's something you like, you
-
just have to accept. You just have to accept there's something that you have
-
to accept. So my wife liked to sometime buy clothes for me. One
-
time she offered me fashion advice from the day onwards. I told her,
-
it's okay, just keep your fashion advice to yourself, right. She said
-
this, this tea shir looks good on you, looks good on you,
-
very nice. So I bought Tulla, bought Doula, listened to your wife.
-
Your wife listened to your wife. Some Peo people say, and you
-
care possible, right, but I can pour after that? Kidding, But
-
anyway, so I bought to day. After that, I was sudden veried.
-
I say, hey, dear, you know, I look really like
-
not comfortable with this. Okay, it's an oversized T shirt. Okay,
-
I got really small shoulders. Okay, my wife shoulders is much bigger than
-
mine. Right, I got really small show you got small shoulders? I
-
said, yeah, I know, my shoulders bigger than yours. You go
-
here, brag or you are ah. Then after that, subsequently, when
-
we go shopping, I can why don't you try this one? No,
-
thank you, I will stick to my usual right, white or black,
-
that's it standard, all right? And after wild friends, we don't accept
-
even with acknowledge, you understanding somebody you don't want to accept. Again,
-
if it's a steel watered which really benefits you, you still have to accept
-
it that God is gonna make you lie down by the green pasture or lead
-
you by steel waters. He can lead you to the best place, frends,
-
but you still have to accept. You still have to accept. At
-
the end of the day, Friends, many times of life God wants to
-
leaders. You still have to accept his guidance. Then after the conviction,
-
friends, conviction, First, you don't live our life just because the way
-
we interpret things conviction of Christ, for example, missions the capacity of our
-
heart God has given us, Friends, is not just to live the life
-
of our own. If we say that we after God's own heart. Friends,
-
that God's heart is for the world, for the people around. Therefore,
-
our heart's capacity is really to reach the world with the good news.
-
To go out there. Friends, I was challenging a brother one day.
-
They say that you know that certain countries never go, never go, never
-
go. One of them says India. I will never go India. See
-
why I can't. I really try, brother, I'm telling you, you
-
just go one time. You'll never be the same again. You love the
-
land, you love the food, you love the people, you love the
-
culture. Never, I say betther, If we say never, then is
-
God the love of your life? So easy to say never? No?
-
Friends, never know conviction. We see God is our lot right there.
-
The conviction must have got us you to go the lot I to go there?
-
Never, no way, no way. So last Sunday we had the
-
privilege of no baitinessing or wedding between between this couple from China, and you
-
know, I was given for the very first time in my life. I
-
was given honor at the VIP table. I don't know why, but the
-
couple decided, what do you you and your wife take the VIP table.
-
VP table is where the bright family and the girl family seats. I'm sitting
-
I just want to food because you know we table. You have to you
-
can't eat eating your friends always nice to the eating ray all right, you
-
understand, you can be yourself. You can dig in friends. I tell
-
you one of the best poach lam wreck came. I was there that everybody
-
was served one piece of on the plate. They're going another four more,
-
four more untouched. Everybody so called you so nice. How I was there
-
sitting down, I'm like, oh, should I go take some more?
-
Right? I see the service Caba. Nobody wanted anymore taking and she was
-
taking away. I said, we're not done yet, real table and and
-
and and all of them speak men because you're from from mill in China,
-
and the brides parents are working for the government, working for the government.
-
And I was just sitting there. You know, my wife was just trying
-
to talk to them. I felt I felt so funny because they were trying
-
and I they think I look like one of them, but I don't speak
-
the language. You understand that. So the pressure that although I understand some
-
of it, and they will every do you every take extend that. I
-
don't like the culture. I said, no, I like I like the
-
food, I love the culture and everything that I got no problems with it.
-
But I just I wish I could converse with your told that I wish
-
I could converse with you, but I just couldn't. I just couldn't understand.
-
I just couldn't reply properly. All right, if I do reply,
-
so I bet word after that. Okay, you don't get me intraditional.
-
But the conviction friends sometimes friends hear this. The conviction is this that just
-
because I don't speak the same language doesn't mean I don't participate. This show
-
interest. And before the same they will They greeted me and signed languages.
-
I tried my very best. You know, my wife know that I cannot.
-
I cannot. I'm not like other people. That that's very expressive.
-
It takes me a longer time to warm up your language. And they'll try
-
to sign me and were asking me to reply something. I I think I
-
replied wrongly. They were all laughing. I didn't know what they're laughing about.
-
I just smiled a lot with them. Doesn't mean friends, doesn't mean
-
because we don't understand, we do not know the conviction of Christ is so
-
important. We really need to live our life convicted by what God is putting
-
on our hearts. God must always be first in our life, no matter
-
what we go to, no matter what pressure we go to, God must
-
always be first in our life. Maybe perhaps right now we are living the
-
environment whereby the Gospel is easily accessible. One time a preacher was just sharing
-
with a group of leaders, and just this preacher just say, sometime I
-
get so frustrated because I'm keep hearing the gospel being preached the same people again
-
and again and again and again again and again and again that some people around
-
and may not and have not heard yet. And here we are something.
-
We are are making commands about hearing the same messages again, and that's his
-
conviction. And another preacher's confission was is that say, if we don't disciple
-
people friends, our just won't have a future. If we ourselves not being
-
discipled, we don't have a future in God. We have a concept or
-
understanding who God is, but there's no conviction because we are not being led
-
by God. There fum more points the way we react, pray, read
-
the Bible, and preach reveal how much we know about him. Okay,
-
this is the way we react, pray, read the Bible, even preach,
-
reveals how much we know about Him. Many times in our journey friends,
-
in our journey of Christianity, with our journey of Christianity, we think
-
we think that we know God about friends. It really reveals the more you
-
know about God, the more you want to live out your life, live
-
out your life in one thing to place him. David knew God friends death.
-
That's why even saw he don't want to touch because I cannot touch lots
-
annoying that because he understands. So the more you know about him, your
-
response will be different. We are very comfortable in the way we worship.
-
We're very comfortable with the settings right now that we have transporters to a different
-
environment. Can be still worship transporters to a place whereby maybe one day,
-
right the preacher may not be like that, or maybe it could be like
-
that right now it's so boring at your life, the place and lunchtime already
-
perhaps right and maybe and perhaps sometimes all these I mean, give put out
-
faith right now in a place whereby it's not normal. Right. I was
-
in a pastive fellowship one time. I remember the personally it was a past
-
his wife who cannot sing in tunin and there's no instrument that you started singing.
-
Friends, the older ones was rather on the older ones, the older
-
passes. There were just worshiping. I was being just a very young leader
-
back then, trying not to laugh, trying not to giggle because you know
-
when you know, when the person sings very loud off and everything that you
-
just can't help but to laugh. To to you just try to hold it
-
in, right, you try to tie your shoelaces. You understand what I'm
-
trying to say, because you don't make a scene, but it happens.
-
It happens, and don't understood. Back then you're thinking so boring the past's
-
fellowship and stuff that only much later in life I discover that friends, majority
-
of the people, majority of the churches around the world may not have this
-
kind facility. No, no, some system may not have like everything that
-
we have right now. We don't have a lot of stuff, yeah,
-
but some have lesser, But doesn't mean that become worshiped. So the wave
-
resport reveals how much we know about Him and Jesus must always be the focus,
-
no matter what happens to what other people say, last scripture for the
-
day. Luke say it. He said to them, if anyone desires to
-
come after me, let him deny himself and take up the cross and follow
-
me in friends. If anyone desires to come after me in friends, I
-
truly believe that obs he won the Lord. Always say want to follow God.
-
But there's a condition, which is this that friends, there is this
-
part of verse the flesh, the flesh. The flesh has to go out
-
of the window. Friend, denying yourself in or to say that just because
-
I don't have hair, I got hair by faith. It's not the dead
-
count deny your friends, it's not it's sorry. I do not know what
-
examples to pull our friends otherwise say I pick you on you So it's not
-
it's it's the desires. This is between you know, Should I sleep it
-
because the weather is so nice today? Should I come to church? There's
-
this online worship, and I know a lot of people say that, you
-
know online worship, you can worship, go homier. Just understand that I
-
met a guy one time to say the way must we know we can pray
-
anywhere? Well, why do people come to court to pray in this mountain?
-
Why? Why can pray your home. I say, true, you
-
can, But you're here right now. Why do you experience what it means,
-
what it feels like, Because it's very different. Because sometimes we go
-
to a place wherey the place is saturated with prayer. It is very different.
-
It's very different. Some most you no, no, because we grow
-
up in the generation whereby you have not seen the move of the spirits as
-
much as those in the eighties. In the eighties where when the preacher calls,
-
all the court is packed and before the preacher could touch the faur hate.
-
Friends, people for under the power. That's rare number, just with
-
the head, people for under the power. But these days less of that.
-
Right, But that doesn't mean, friends, that we stop believing.
-
So denying yourself here, say that God, I choose to believe, even
-
though somethimess I don't. I don't really believe. And take up your cross
-
and follow me in. Friends. Last point is this is this A man
-
was consumed, friends, Abraham was consumed with obeying God. See, you
-
must allow your love for him to consume you. Abit was consumed to the
-
ex God says, sacrifice one and only saide Isaac, give up the one
-
thing that you love an was consumed. What you are consumed by and convicted
-
of will compel you to act. What you're consumed by and convicted of will
-
compel you to act. I pray, friends, to bring this message to
-
your closest starts to know what to remember, not just Titus of Jesus Lord,
-
but allow him to function the role that eer he wants to provide for
-
you. For this there to write that the lords by shepherd, I shall
-
not be in one a total trust that this shepherd understands because he himself is
-
a shepherd. He understands the role and the function. And sometimes we say,
-
O God, that Jesus is a lot of my life. But remembering
-
the title is one thing. But remembering his role his function allow him to
-
play that shepherd that provides the least, that restore a shepherds that care for
-
us. Even though we could be in the friends, we could be in
-
the place like feels like the value of the shadow of their fear. Anxiety
-
grips us all the time, but we'd be like David. They say we
-
should not fear because your presence, your right, your stuff. It comforts
-
me. You know when you're fearful you're fearful. We we it self.
-
Preservation kicks in every run anywhere what it thinks can be helped. We run
-
to any place that we comfort that that steals our hearts of friends. If
-
you ever walk in the dark room before and all you hear is a dripping
-
tap water from the toilet, that's really dark. If that frightens you and
-
friends, I'm not frightened. But then all I'm okay. You know this
-
is water only praise. Go about other things to frighten your friends. But
-
why what frightens your friends? You always find a place thing that comes your
-
heart, because that's how we are white and how we are made. It's
-
very natural. And God says that it's my rod. And to start of
-
the comforts, you prepare a meal before my enemies. Surely goodness and mercy
-
follow me the rest of my life. I draw this to a close,
-
friends, as I draw this so close, as I draw this to a
-
close, and this because I want to pray for all of us here,
-
remember who God is in your life. Be like Abraham. Abraham was concealed.
-
Abraham was consumed with obeying the Lord. Abram was consumed with pleasing God.
-
Did you close your eyes right now, allow me to pray for all
-
of us here. I know the all of us here, our believers,
-
and all us here wants for the Lord. But there are many things in
-
our hearts right now that's just clouding. And maybe the word is that,
-
you know, not enabling us to remember all goodness that He has done so
-
far in our life. Maybe you've reached a place of sagnancy and you know,
-
just feel like it's the same like last week or the week before,
-
the month before. The Lord today wants you want to set us free because
-
if you just remember that we were a slave, and how good is just
-
remember it? Just to keep because in keeping your leads, it restores make
-
a slide down. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
-

-
good week. I hit for you, God bless
