Do Not Be Afraid | Elder Kien Yiak

You're listening to a message to go from acts church.

We hope this message will light up your day.

Okay, chant, you do very well, but yeah, screen on

a mission trip. We have never been before. But there

is the initial fear of saying that, yes, Lord, the

initial fear of saying.

That God, I want more.

But yet God has always asked us to embrace a

year without fear. So I won't speak about do not

fear this morning? And turn I want to turn this

to the Bible. Do you try me Chapter twenty worse one?

You t meach up to twenty worse one. And this

is the principles of governing warfare, all right? So you

twenty worse one says that when you go out into

better against your enemy and see horses, chariots and people

are more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them. Friends,

you and I. The word is this that we are

very governed by sight. Right. The Bible here says that

when you go out for war, when you when you

enter into a space or environment whereby everything is against you,

The Bible here describes, as you know, horses and chariots, right,

horses and chariots, that there's more numals that you could

count right, arm me that you know that you only

wish you have, but you didn't have right all these stakes.

It puts a lot of pressure on earth. One time

I was with a relative of mine and the person

just asked me a question that if you were to retire,

as you know, with my vocation right now being full time,

if you were to retire, right, do you have one

million in your EPM bank account whatsoever? I ran like, no,

but I know I got one million in Jesus, hallelujah,

praise a lot, you know, and stuff like that. I

know it sounds the word is, that sounds very shallow.

But we don't have means.

We don't ever if you understand what I'm trying to say,

If you really don't have that, you just you just

can't condu you up right. The moment you face your enemy,

that's your friendly. There more numerous in chariots, horses and army. Right,

It's not like you could just snap your finger and

walla all you go online and you buy army chariots

like what they do online?

Right, they go and buy army and stuff like that.

You can't do that right when you don't have means

you don't have, but it doesn't mean friends that you

and I. The Bible here says have to be afraid

of them? Right have The word is that have to

allow ourselves the words hijack our thoughts, our hearts, our sleep,

our attention in the place where we do want you

want to go to? How many of us do you

understand what I mean by the moment? That is where

by when things are against you, right, your thoughts get

hijacked and we get to anxiety faith and the panic

attack phase. We get to a place whereby we don't

even the word is that trust or.

Even believe there is a God who loves us.

So the Bible here reminds us that do not be

afraid of them, for the Lord God is with you, friends,

even though everything is against you. Everything is the word

is that pointed towards a dietion wherebi it squeezes out hope,

it squeezes out faith, it squeezed out future. Right that

you and I this morning do not need to be

afraid because the Lord is with us. I can only

stand and say this because of our journey of the church,

being in church, or rather seeing the church. The day

we started to today and how the Lord's going to

bring us to and read the Lord's gonna bring us

to we can only recognize and believe if the Lord

is with you, really, you do not need to be afraid.

Yes, you may lose people around you.

Some of us here may have really good contacts, really

good friends, supporters and stuff like that all these years,

but all of a sudden right that that that favored is

no longer there.

We do not need to be afraid. You do not

need to be in fear.

Our church we've seen in our own journey as well,

when we did the very first event at some way,

so every year we had this some Christmas at the

part Right, Christmas at the part Right, and the very

first time I think we had it was very long

time ago. I think you tread two thousand and one,

two thousand and two, right. Our childre is very small.

And you know back then we had a band called

Parishion Band that came from New Zealand. Very what was that, Yeah,

a person worship band from New Zealand. It came down

right and they did and you know, let us worship

and stuff like that. But after the event is done,

everyone say, fantastic every every uh lotsbout pastor say thank

you very much for organizing, putting things together right, and

they say hi fi, hallelujah.

Will everybody left? Friends, Uh, we were left with bills

to pay.

Help you understand that, you know, after every after every event,

people high fi, you say thank you for organizing, put

it together right, while they all enjoy and had a

great time. Uh, that incomes abius, the armies, the cherriers,

the horses somehow ritherbulls will come and we'll know your

address on right.

You can't run away from them, right.

So the bills came and stuff like that, and we

were asked to pay. Our church was very small, and

you know, and and and and we didn't have people

of those the resources or bank account, right, even though

we had a lot of people attending, right, friends, and

you know, and sometimes we don't take up a public offering. Friends,

it doesn't turn out like how you wait, you turn

out you wish to turn out. And even though it's

supposed to be a shared response ability with you know,

all the other churches, right someone, rather it falls on

the organizing that organized at the event and stuff like that.

So the bills came and now we did a collection

and stuff like their friends. They weren't enough to pay

the bill, all the bills some but not all the

bulls friends.

So what do you do in a situation?

What do you do in the moment that time whereby

the bills are like WHOA a lot? And you're there,

you're telling everything you could meet maybe fifty percent of

the budget. And this is the situation whereby you trot

reach up to twenty when you see the cherists and

the horses and army were friends. You do not need

to be afraid. The question here is is that in

all that you do, in all that you do in

your life, are you in alignment with the lot? Because

there are some bills that we incur in life because

of all disobedience, because us of our ones, not because

of our needs. There are some things in life you

go to right, you incur certain expenses because of our

own values. That's not in alignment. We've got we've got

to the place. But here the Bible here says do

not need to be afraid. So what happened that during

the event we were praying, and that very day I

remember that there was a businessman that came because you know,

from different churches. He came and this stuff that came

event after the event, he was so moved, so touched

by the Lord.

He said, hey, can you come to the office.

And and you know, we were like okay, Lord, just

go up right and passed the say just follow me

when we passed it, and stuff like how much do

you still left? The outstanding stated a mound and he

handed us cash cash. I remember it was about close.

I think the outstanding was about ten. So on my

left flick was five thousand because I got no back

the time, I e squeeze everything one pocket, five thousand

a day, five thousand year. Too big, but because you

don't like that was bigger inside, so they thought I

have big like masters and stuff like that. And uh,

and I went and secretly went to the back to

back in the money. It was hilarious because the past,

for the very first time we've ever seen someone chop

off by len say you know, right, but what let

you know friends, But before that provision came over me,

I was I was nervous because like, how do you

pay the bill?

I was in fear. I was afraid. I was like doubting, Like, Lord.

I know I've now organized things by faith before, whereas

pastor has organized so many times that the way past

the say the way you will all be taken care of,

or trust me all be taking care of. God will

move hearts of the people to give it for their

passes faith. If you know past our founding see passes faith.

But for us junior level, right, sorry, I use that technology.

I never understood that journey. I never understand I never

understood that the pathway. Even right now, the Bible says

when you see the chairs, the horses, right, when you

see the army in front of you, do not be

afraid the Lost review. Right, Yes, the author here understood.

He went through that as he's writing about it, right,

he said, do not be afraid the lost review. But

we as a reader reading it, like, yeah, it's easy.

That says for you to write it that way. I

know the Lost readers.

But when you're in the tick of the fire, come on,

someone's getting married, ye end or next year they are, right,

there are there two people here getting.

Married our friends just in case. So you're like, what

two people getting married?

So they're like, you know, when you are getting married,

it's it's like the al sudden the idea is great,

but the bills are a different story altogether, right Tim

Tiam is still paying for the wedding bills. Very quiet, sorry, know,

just joking, just your k right, right. That's why team

could offer by his coffee masin, yet the wife say no.

The idea is ready fantastic, but the bills are different

metal altogether.

And because of death.

Friends, sometimes we make decisions based on the chariots and

horses we see, not by faith. I'm not asking us

to do to go to the extment by a debt, but

asking us to allow God to stretch our imagination with

what we have, because sometimes in life it's not what

you see your eyes first, it's what you see faith.

First.

There was a lady in our organization bought a very

first space. You know we have we are powerful time

ministry and stuff like that. All right, We're not in corporate,

so we don't.

Have yearly bonuses.

A bonus is in heaven, Amen Hallelijah, right, so we

don't have that, right. But anyway, she was sharing her

destiminy right at each of thirty six, buying our own place,

and her journey was just this that last year or

two years ago, and they will give. God just put

on her heart to soar in the mound, and this

kind of things you don't take likely know. And God

puts something on your heart, right, it's not for us

to just discard it, but just allow you to work.

What God puts on your heart requires faith. Okay, well, God,

God puts your heart required faith. But the point of

faith and the action, that's where fear. That's where the cherriot.

That's where do not be afraid. That's where the fear

comes in.

She's succeed. God, is are you sure it's you?

Because this doesn't I know, it sounds like you, but

I just got to be sure it is you because

it requires faith. And the moment when she released the

funds friends, people were smiling and giving. She was crying,

giving into the bag. She shared later in the whole

course of journey friends, never in her entire wildest imagination

that the Lord has blessed her away I would say

a side, but a part time share, the part time

job outside. Never in her wildest dream that God has

you someone who's very timid and quiet, very very timid

and very quiet, to be the top salesperson. Totally, She's

here and I know this person than over years, or

it is really by the grace of God.

And she stood there one day and she had a

place in writing us.

Always you just say, I want to let you know

where you're at right now.

It's only because the Lord has provided. Yes, it's fearful.

Yes, I couldn't do anything everything but the faith that's

required to do the initious sewing. That's why the Bible

here says, do not be afraid of that, for the

Lord God's with you, who brought you out from the

land of Egypt.

Friends, if you recognize your journey in the Lord, friends.

All these years, how fitful God has been in your life. Friends,

you and I are supposed to build on that journey.

You're not supposed to build on that faith on that journey.

Friends.

I know, friends that the days are by. Yeah, but

you don't say, elder that the land of Egypt is

so long ago. My last time was maybe five years.

But hey, friends, I want to let you know, even

though it's five years, you can build on it today.

That's why I say, how do you welcome this year?

Is it by faith or is it fear? Is it

this year? Decided that you know that that you want

to God, I just want to trust you a bit more.

So therefore I wanted to take a step out my

comfort zone. And the word is God. If you can

use anyone, you can use me. And I want to

be a blessing to know what is, to know what

it's like to embrace to help. So one of attestimony

for our school recently we heard at the teachers all

night was that you know that especially boy that was

so rejected in one place came to our place and

you know manage The word is that managed to find courage,

courage to believe again that you know that that the

word's not that bad because before this puriously was in

another place whereby ridiculed by all the friends and stuff

like that. But the place mom said that you know

my boy and now look forward to go to school,

not train me all. We're not specially so anything but

the love, the care that was given. I'm sharing this

to you not to stretch our imagination right, our faith

and our hearts, because friends, you don't need to be

a specialist in something. All we need to know that

the law is with us. God give me ideas right.

So the question is that where do we learn fear.

Where did we learn fear in our life when we're younger? Friends,

fear is not something that is very evident, right. You

think about the craziest thing you've ever done when you

were a kid, all right, I'm sure there are so

many crazy stuff.

Mine was really a.

Climbing up, climbing up the balcony from ground floor. Climbed

to my neighbor fans after they climbed to my balcony

because my parents say you cannot enter the house man right,

because I was always coming back the same time, I

didn't come back, so I could lock off from the house.

My mother forgot I could climb over the fans from

the fans that I couldn't enter the main house. But

I know the balcony door was open, so I climbed out.

Fans stand on the spikes. Then after they climb on

the railing there there don't know back then, back then

I could pull myself up. Now I couldn't himself pull

it myself. I think I could put the railing down anyway.

Stuff like that, and and really really crazy stuff. But anyway,

when you were younger, there was no fear. But because

she's way learn fear where did we learn fear. None

of us here going to school and just say, hey,

elected for fear. I want to sign up right, So

Genesis chaped the tree. Genesis chapt the tree was six

that the woman thought tree was good for food and

was pleasant to the eyes.

The tree was desired to make one wise. She took

the fruit and she ate it, and she gave the husband.

It starts from the garden, friends, It starts at the

garden whereby first of all God said, do not eat

of the tree of the noise of good either. But

because of the cunningness of the serpent and stuff that

mankind fell into the trap, fell into something which God

has never wanted us to have in the first place?

Was it they heard the sound of the Lord God

in the garden, walking in the garden the core of

the day, and the man his wife hit themselves from

the presidents of God for the very first time, itself

embracing God in the garden, and man even hid from

the presence of God. When you only hide something because

you're you're afraid of it, how many of us here

did have a recollection of memory, whereby we have hit

the king when our parents are looking for it the

road don friends a kid that we were they were

used on earth.

Okay, I'm not sure you used to use kN but

And somehow I realized it's not wise to hike king

from parents because then they grab anything else and their

So we hid things because we are afraid of it.

And Adam if hit from God, so from the very

for the very first time in their whole journey with

the Lord friends they hit. They went into hiding. You

think about it, who have taught them to hide from God?

But because of the disobedience and and they allow that

that feeling, imagine might you're allowed If God.

Found out right, then we will be we will be.

Disciplined and therefore the height they allow there that emotion

and feeling to hijack that destiny. You see sometimes in

our life the reason why we we don't step out

the experience of victu because we allow fear and to

hijack us from breakthrough to a place whereby.

We can't do it. You can never do it.

You're like that, and that's there for your future is

like that, and we make every decision because of that.

What's nine? Then the Lord God said to Adam, where

are you?

And you say, I heard your voice in the garden,

and I was afraid again for the very first time

human being unders begin to feel afraid, begin to feel

that fear. And because of the disobedient, friends, fear is

the consequences of sin, because of one very egg, friends,

the branh of being found out obedient enter into mankind.

And because of that, friends, we are the words that

in our own life and our own personal journey as well.

I have found that many times we tell ourselves that

we can't do certain things. We tell ourself when God

say you can, be said we can't, And God say,

you trust me, believe in me by a lot.

I can't.

Friends, I want to encourage you before I close, you know,

the next twenty minutes, friends, I want to encourage you

before I close, really this year to really the words

that would you consider to take a step of faith

and to believe God. These year, friends, we are looking

the possibility of planting a few more churches around the globe,

around the globe, around the globe, and one of them

really is that you know that we are looking at

it's planting something in India. We have a partner that

that goes in, God that goes in, and we are

just praying and asking God really like you know, if

it's your real, would you show us?

Would you show us where and what to do?

We won't go in there blindly and just start something,

not because we want to start something.

If it's the Lord, the low will open the door.

And the word is this that the lot will confirm

things on our journey. There's a possibility we might start something.

And the power, the power and if it's the Lot's real, friends,

the love will open the door for us to go

in there to plant something. Again, it's not something that

we are most comfortable with, language difference and just stuff

like that. But if the Lord is with you, that

no nationn't doors will be closed. Right if the loss

we few friends, the law provide the personnel people, Lord

prepare the hearts of the people. And we are just

a contuent. We're just a channel the wessl that God

wants to use. But the question is that we allow

God even to use us to say, I want to

take this step of faith God, I will be a

channel of blessing to that land. Right, So fear is

not from the Lord. Second Timothy one, verse seven. For

God do not give us a spirit of fear intimidity,

but power, love, and self discipline. God has not given

us the spirit of fear intimidity. Friends, if and I'm

going to say this all right, and knows how we've

made me know like me, But I'm not advocate of

people watching horror shows.

I'm sorry. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not.

I'm not because many times in our life we opened

that spiritual door. Friends, That spiritual is a spiritual door

that you open up into your life and constantly, constantly, Friends,

you're always watching your back because feelful it works a

new one. So one time I went for a railroad

a presence in the room now, but otherwise there's no fear.

And you know if you understand. However, that turns towards

the evening, right, I need a hot water, and I

Doesn't really help.

Opposite me was a temper that there has that the

the toilet. I played places of worship the tol I

because you can't sleep. Firsts you, you know it doesn't help. Friends,

you sense a presence in the room somehow. The Bible says, God,

you don't give us real fear. But the thing is

is that it's very tangible and the environment around you.

I really try to shut I stuff that that that

that that tap with cotton and stuff like that so

the water doesn't drip down. Probably if you understand what

I'm trying to say, you put towers there to soften

the thing. But you're you just can't help because your

mind gets hijacked. So if you're if you're still indulging

yourself in horror movie, I want to encourage you, which

you surrender that before the Lord.

The Bible says Fear is the spirit. Fear is the

spirit is the spirit.

Friends, that very night, I O God, God, please deliver me,

because this is I'm going I'm supposed to preach tomorrow.

I can't be standing up there that they people do

not fear.

But here I hear my in the room there just

because it turned and night, ripping water sup and they

become so fearful. Right, you play places and worship doesn't

really help after after that, So I speaking in tongues

and stuff like that for the Lord just reminded me

that I'm with you. After that, I went sleep soundly

after the border. After that, I say, I can just

drop all you wanna. It's okay. The days where by

in our ministry, the early days of our church, we

have delivered a lot. We did a lot of deliverance,

praying for people and stuff like that. Was there was

one time I think we had an event, so we

were praying for people. There was a small size particized lady.

They came up for prayer. She started manifesting right, convulsion manifesting.

Five guys try to hold down, but couldn't.

Couldn't.

Like you know, at the very moment, friends, I just

realize sometimes you know when when you go to deliverance.

If you ever notice that before our friends, all right,

if you notice it when people start manifesting somebodt Rather,

people just thought that by praying louder to cow the

sound of the enemy like a right, It's not. It

doesn't look that way. Friend, doesn't mean that you put

you you drown the enemy. Friends, the confidence of the

comps in the volume the confident really does coming over.

Doesn't mean people are like screaming like telling me wants

to rub our attention away from God and put it

on itself. Our our job as a believer. We just

look to God and say, God, you are the Lord

in Jesus name, come out, and that's it. And of story, friends,

no part too after that. So God did not give

us the spirit of fear, but of love. Come on,

of love, power and self discipline. I truly believe, friends,

it takes selves discipline for us to excherience a breakthrough

from fear, because if not, friends, you and I forget hydraighted.

Like my experience in this particular hotel, my mind went worse.

Why if I sleep then someone pull my blanket? Seriously,

when we were asleep and you get knocked on the

door at three m in the morning, Right, it doesn't

really help.

Friends.

The other day I was afraid was the shower curtain?

What's behind there? I'm sharing with you as as kendidly is.

But at that moment, at the time for it wasn't

funny for me because I was trying to rest and

to sleep and just like just can't help. But there's

a dripping sound there and then this shower because you

enter the toilet, the old school towels really like mozaic

towels on the floor, the.

Mirror that's in front of the show.

The basic was was all our friends comes the bathtub

with the shower curtain there, and the worst thing the

light bulb. There is the old school film in light

about one in the toilet at least not blinking. It

very funny, Selena. The shower cut I'm telling you, the

shower curten was another thing that hijacked my mind. What

happened if you actually turn off the thing and the

shower curtain just moved. That's what the Bible says, He

given the spirit of self discipline because our mind, our

mind get hijacked. We are playing all the permutation that

is out there. While you turn off the tap water

comes out.

We watched too many so one might find the story

is that so we had one one camp we did

But anyway, at this camp, right, we want to help

people to break through their fear. Fear, so we got

every camper to come to the canteen and we turn

off the lights of the camp site.

The only left the lights that was left on.

Was at the canteen area, and we told every camper

that we're going to send you out two by two

in the interval of twenty minutes. Right first team went out.

The next thing after ten minutes, they heard screaming because

there were six checkpoints they were supposed to sign their name.

One of the checkpoint was in the gym in front

of a mirror.

Replaced the book right at the corner of the room

because they have to walk past all the mirrors to

go to the corner of the room. And the book

was placed in front of an old TV with static

white noise. You will love because your mind is imagined

that somebody will crawl from the TV.

After that, Right did you know that?

Although that it sounds very simple, a lot of people

couldn't do it because of what imagery they had in

their mind, because that TV with a white noise.

And another one was at the swimming pool.

The book was right at the age of by the

time you sign your name, and you'll be looking at

the reflection of yourself on the pool.

Yes, I don't know.

Why, but friends, if we have people say I do

not want to play the game where people just say

this is too scary, no cannot. There had intervals people

screaming say no please, they can crying say enough, I

cannot can take two like to to stations that say

I couldn't because you put one in the toilet as well.

We love toilets and dripping water and.

Stuff like that, as like as as I just.

Tried to bring this so close.

Chariots, horses, you know when you see them, it gets hijacked.

I share about the static TV or mind. We know

what we're thinking of. Some because of some imagery we

saw before, something might crawl out from the TV, right

you heard or something before but it takes self discipline

in our minds, saying, yes, you acknowledge that. But God,

because of your spirit, I got to train my mind

to focus on your goodness. That's why the Bible says,

don't look at the cherishs of horses and the army

that's more numerous than you. It's a known fact already, friends,

they are more numerous than you. But focus in on God.

There's good that He's with you to overcome fear. You

and I need to know that white spirit of power,

because God is power, friends, he is. He is of

love as well, and perfect love costs all fear. As

I close friends, you and I, we are called to

live above the waters and not below. And many times

our journey and we start the year of friends. New year,

same old feeling, New year, sime old attitude, new year,

same results. And God, they say, when with the cycle break,

when with the psychle break, the cycle will only break.

Say God, your word says.

You don't give me a spirit of fear, of power,

love and self discipline. Power, love and self discipline. And

in your quiet time you see God, help me to

experience what it is to live in your power. Help

me to understand why is it to live in your

love and self as close friends. I just want to

share one more story review and as I close this year, Solf,

you may may or may not know, our church is

a small church. We are not We're not big. We

are not big. You know, We're not here about numbers.

We don't really The word is that our desire is

not so much with the numbers. Our desire is really

God wants your plan for our church at the end

of the day. Because God's plan is you know that

it's really what's more important than anything else when He

reveal to us, you know, growing small, right, it's not

easy to do a small church. It's now easy because

it's not like something that you want to highlight, like

tell you first time to church, it's only one keyboard,

what guitarist.

And go like earth.

But we are very comfortable with the calling only because

God's in the picture. And we know for a very

fact is this that this year, right this year, God

has opened a lot of doors for the church to

go and minister to a lot of smaller churches around Malaysia.

In case you already know that ninety percent of the

church in Malaysia are below fifty.

Below fifty people.

And all that friends, about maybe about sixty to seventy

percent of the senior passes right now are in the

sixties and seventies. In the next ten years, friends, they

will be retiring. And the future of our church in Malaysia,

especially Peninsula is very dim because there is no successor.

There is no one wanting to take over the church.

There's no one wanting to embrace the church. Frans is

the churches which is not closing out because of no money,

because there is no people. Right, I share you before

there's one. But I know that the past is going

to retire maybe the next five six years. Right, No

young people, they want to come back to the state.

And there was a guy who's quite well to do

called the Sun. Come back, come back to this day

and work for me that has a business running WHI

we're business running the Sundays to that that they care

very much. I'm not inter I want to take care

of work for other people. I'm want to stay care

of woe for other people because I like the lifestyle

over here compared to where I come from. So if

there's the future of our church, friends, then what's our

role as X and we know that it's not by

chance that got open that door for us to know

what's happening. It's one thing to know what's happening and that,

but the other thing to do something about it.

There's something to do about it.

So because places on the leadership hard say we want

to help, we want to be part of the solution.

So this year you gotta see past the traveler going

to travel to something smaller towns and this, and just

begin to network to say how could we help you

as an urban church. And one of them is to

encourage people that if God calls you back to your

state to work, do answer that call, because not just

because of the vocation, but the church needs you back

at kuantan at Tanganu, needs you at the place because

without you that the church can't survive. Just as a

close it's never easy, friends, but it's not about fear

of losing people or anything that For the past twenty

five years of doing church, we have saw how God

just move in our church. Really one time that we
