  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your da.

  3. The message I have for you today is called I

  4. had to title some guy this The Giver and the Gift.

  5. All right, I put the one lighter because it's Chinese

  6. New Year just finished. Sorry, I use the one like okay,

  7. pineapple anyway, The Giver and the gift. As we, you know,

  8. walk in the Lord, as we walk every day, as

  9. we serve the Lord, as we follow Christ. Yeah, you know.

  10. Now and again we are reminded we are the giver

  11. and we have a gift. Amen. All of us have

  12. the opportunity to give, and we are the giver. Please

  13. don't tell your neighbor you are a giver. Tell your

  14. other name on the other side, you too, you are

  15. the giver, Amen, and then tell back the other neighbor

  16. you have a gift. Amen. We all have a you've

  17. God has so much blessed us. Well, I'm just wondering,

  18. as a question for all of us, on a scale

  19. of one to ten, how would you rate the joy

  20. of your giving? How joyful are you when you give?

  21. If you look at the little zebra, will the zebra

  22. be rocking? Up the top or rocking down at the bottom.

  23. All right, on the scale of one to ten, how

  24. would you rate the joy of your giving? I hear

  25. the church in Nigeria when people come up, anyone from

  26. Nigeria here? No, no?

  27. Who?

  28. All right? You know? I heard my friend went to

  29. church there and they say it's offering time, and the

  30. people would go woo, and they'll be dancing, going down

  31. and then hilariously.

  32. Giving their offering. Wow, the scale of their joy of

  33. giving must be to ten. All right, I don't know.

  34. So this is a good question. Are you happy when

  35. you give? Or are you crying?

  36. You're my ten dollars is departing from me, departing like dying.

  37. You know, are you crying or are you like yay?

  38. There's a chance for me to worship the Lord with

  39. my giving. So you know yourself? You can you know

  40. to usk and say where am I one or ten?

  41. Or in the middle? Wow? Well, you know, the joy

  42. of the Lord is our strength in all things. Our

  43. encouragement to each other is that matter what we are,

  44. what we're going through, where we're at, the joy of

  45. the Lord is our strength, and that's how we draw

  46. joy out and how we have the strength of the

  47. lot because his joy isiness, not just happiness. Joy. Jesus says,

  48. I go to my Father so that your joy may

  49. be full, and I give you the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  50. So praise the lot. Good. To rate yourself so you

  51. know where you're at this at this season in your life,

  52. and are you happy? Giving? Okay, can create yourself Number one.

  53. If we're going to give friends, every time that we're

  54. gonna give, we're gonna give it by an act of faith. Amen.

  55. So first point is your act of faith. If every

  56. time we give it has to be an act of faith. Amen.

  57. Do you know when Jesus went to the cross, he

  58. did not know if you and me would accept him?

  59. Did you know that? You know? In Romans chapter eight,

  60. verse five, he says, while we were yet sinners, he

  61. gave his life for us. And I remember I wasn't

  62. born yet right when he gave his life at the cross,

  63. Sandra didn't exist yet. But he thought about me and

  64. he went to the cross, but he didn't know if

  65. whether I would would I receive him? Because at fourteen

  66. I said no, thank you, Jesus speak to the hand

  67. at fourteen a small young girl, right, we say no

  68. to Jesus. I have other gods to worship, and I

  69. rejected him. But just a year later I got to

  70. say yes to him because God just came in and

  71. just you know, I encountered Christ and then I got

  72. to be a part of the big family of God.

  73. And so you know, he also took that faith step

  74. to die for you and me at the cross. It

  75. was the death that you know. I'll never know how

  76. much it cost him. I will never know the pain

  77. I will never know. And there won't be any of

  78. us who will never need to go to the cross

  79. because Christ has done it for us. I believe that too,

  80. was an act of faith, being sent by the Father

  81. to the cross. Jesus went for us. Amen. And so

  82. you know the verse in Hebrews eleven sixteen. On so

  83. many times we say, how can I please God, Jesus,

  84. please the Father, and look at that verse. But without faith,

  85. it's impossible to please him. For he who comes to

  86. God must believe in two things. Number one, that he

  87. is and that he is a reward of them who

  88. diligently seek him. Two things that you and I want

  89. to do. How can we please the Lord? We gotta

  90. go by faith? And then we got to know that

  91. he is Bukan. He was okay, he is okay. Here

  92. is not a words God, not a word God, but

  93. is God. He's a today God. Yeah, he's present, Amen,

  94. And that he rewards all of us who seek him.

  95. Diligently seek him, and he will meet with us. Amen.

  96. I believe that we are sheep, and the Bible in

  97. John chapter ten says he's sheep. Hear his voice. Amen,

  98. how many sheep we have in the house. You can

  99. hear the voice of the law. Yeah, not but but

  100. but but that's a goat. But you are the sheep,

  101. and the sheep will follow the shepherd. And our great

  102. shepherd is Jesus. So it is truly an act of faith,

  103. even for us. It is by faith that we receive

  104. the faith in Christ. It is by faith, you know,

  105. to please God that we are going to prepare every

  106. every Sunday, we prepare to give our offering, every time

  107. we choose to give for any need. It's truly by faith. Yeah,

  108. it's an act of faith because we want to please God.

  109. You know, a lot of couples when they're dating in

  110. the past, they used to come and ask me, pasus

  111. I want to please God in my dating life? How

  112. and what should I do? Everybody wants to please God,

  113. so you gotta date by faith. You gotta put it

  114. before the Lord and date by faith and seek the Lord?

  115. And what and how you can encourage each other and

  116. build this relationship by faith? Amen? Everybody. If we want

  117. to please God, you got to go by faith. Anything

  118. done without faith, I'm sorry to report. Sorry, you are

  119. not pleasing God. So how many God pleases are in

  120. this house? Let's go by faith? Amen? If you forgot,

  121. then you have to go by faith. I'm also being

  122. reminded go by faith. Take a step of faith. Thank

  123. you Jesus. I'm gonna give by faith, Amen, because I

  124. want to please God. So number one, as a giver,

  125. you gotta act always by faith in all things, because

  126. we want to please God. Amen, by faith? By faith?

  127. You know, taking up any form of leadership is by faith.

  128. You are Selena. You think she wants to do this,

  129. She'll cry bye? By faith in obedience has passed us.

  130. She said, Okay, let's call obedience and then it's by faith.

  131. You can't see right by faith because if you saw

  132. these earlier, you're like, all right, bye bye faith. Amen,

  133. anyone who's serving by faith. I just want to say

  134. that X Church is inundated with the teaching of by faith.

  135. X was planted by faith with just one man and

  136. two people. That turned up from three people, it has

  137. grown to where we are globally. It is not by

  138. any other way, by faith, by faith, that someone will

  139. rise up to the call to plant by faith, it

  140. is someone who will say yes to Jesus. To serve.

  141. Every day is a step of faith. Truly, every day

  142. I wake up and thinking, oh, there's so much to

  143. do by faith. If I shall conquer oh man, by faith,

  144. we will get this conference on his feet this weekend.

  145. All right by fame. Okay, so you'll help me, Okay,

  146. all right, by fame. So much to do. Bye, bye, Fave.

  147. When I see you, I will rejoice. When I see you,

  148. I will say it was all worth it, all right

  149. when I see you. When I see you, yeah, I

  150. will be going like hallelujah. Amen, I'm so glad that

  151. it was worth it. I saw my family there. I'm

  152. punk team already dressed up up and ready at conference

  153. and at our anniversary celebrating. Wow, it's such a joy.

  154. And different ones you are also preparing, you know, our

  155. dance team. And Leona has been on the dance team preparing.

  156. You know, she says she wants to retire. I said, no,

  157. you can't, No, you can't. Husband is, don't be selfish. Aymen,

  158. We've got a fantastic light bulb our creative ministry. Ninety

  159. six dancers from no dancers because people retired to.

  160. Wow, refired, rewired from young and younger under a one hundred.

  161. Oh hallelujah, It's gonna be awesome. You want to be there.

  162. God has blessed X with such talent. Amen. When we

  163. talk about giving, you know who has given the most sacrificial,

  164. the most you know, the heart of giving, the heart

  165. of unconditioned is our heavenly Father. Amen. You know our

  166. God has given us unconditionally, and he gave us his son.

  167. He gave us his son to bridge the gap between

  168. the sin that stood before us and the Lord. But

  169. God unconditionally, sacrificially only one son. He gave us his son.

  170. And we celebrate that every weekend, every day that I

  171. tell you in my quiet time, every day I say

  172. to Jesus and I say, I'm such a broken record, Lord,

  173. but I'm so grateful that I'm forgiven every day because

  174. I fail. Every day I might hurt someone, I may

  175. hurt God. Firstly, and I say, Lord, I'm so grateful

  176. Jesus for the blood of the Lamb that every time

  177. Father looks at me, God looks at me, it's the blood.

  178. It's the blood, Amen. And it's truly, you know, such

  179. a precious, precious sacrifice. So even Jesus was obedient, he

  180. went as the Lord sent him. He was a step

  181. of faith. He stepped into, you know, the the light

  182. of the world, stepped into a very dark earth. What

  183. would he expect? Would we reject him? Would we receive him?

  184. And so when you think about your act of faith,

  185. you think about the one who went before you and me,

  186. our master, Jesus Christ. And so you draw that strength,

  187. and you draw that faith of God that's in you

  188. as you take steps to do anything anything for the Lord,

  189. in your job, in your parenting, you know, in your

  190. in your in your family life, in your church ministry,

  191. doing something for the community. It's always really by faith,

  192. no need to calculate one to treat us by faith. Lord,

  193. you said I will go because my sheep here, my

  194. voice says the Lord. Amen, hallelujah. I want to encourage

  195. you with that because sometimes we forget that Christ has

  196. given his life for us. One day we will have

  197. to see our Savior face to face, and there will

  198. be questions, there will be conversations with him, and I

  199. pray we will all have great conversations on that day.

  200. I don't think matter I will have a conversation. I

  201. would just cry. The fact that I would see my

  202. Master means I made it. I made it. No thing

  203. to argue, nothing to say why that person so bad

  204. to me? Nothing. It will just be thank you Jesus,

  205. because all the love of Christ are washed away, all

  206. my anger and all my regrets. And I say to us,

  207. every day we celebrate God's unconditional love. Amen. And so church,

  208. first step, as a giver, act by faith. Don't calculate

  209. and count with God. Yeah, because He never calculated with you.

  210. You give and you give your heart to the Lord. Amen. Secondly,

  211. as we are the giver, we actually have an intimacy

  212. with God. Wow. Everything that stems from the step first

  213. one faith is that intimacy that you and I will

  214. have with God or are having, or if you haven't yet,

  215. you will have because you can't do anything without that

  216. intimacy with the Lord. So key passage is Second Corinthians,

  217. chapter eight and verse one to seven. The key passage

  218. I'm taking this from is from Second Corinthians, chapter eight.

  219. So give give you a quick background before we read it.

  220. The background of Paul writing the church on Corinth. This

  221. is the church that he planted and then he left.

  222. You know, Paul had many missionary mission strips that he did,

  223. and in Acts chapter eighteen was when he planted this church.

  224. You read in X chapter eighteen he planted the church

  225. in Corinth and then you know, pasted it, and then

  226. you know, he made his trips back and forth planted

  227. the other churches. And then he heard some news about

  228. the church not being in a good place, so he

  229. wrote a letter to them and so addressing different matters

  230. and chald and one of these was in this area

  231. that he was encouraging the church in the area of

  232. their giving. So he was trying to remind them that

  233. they had made a commitment a year ago to actually

  234. collect the funds to give to the church in Jerusalem,

  235. because Christians in Jerusalem were badly, badly persecuted, really persecuted

  236. as long as you say Jesus, that's it. Okay, they

  237. will kill you, all right. So they were underground, they're

  238. going to the caves, they were hiding. There were those

  239. there were those seasons of faith, and people were dying

  240. for their faith, persecuted for their faith. So so the Christians,

  241. those who became believers in the Gentile world in Turkey,

  242. Uh in Asia Minor being heard about the news, and

  243. they said, we want to give, we want to have

  244. a part in Jerusalem. And so they began to collect

  245. an offering. And the church in Macedonia, which is also

  246. in in Asia, the part of uh was a very

  247. poor church. Poor meaning they're nowhere like us. When you

  248. say you're poor, brother, you got food and drink to eat.

  249. They were poor. They also were persecuted, so it's difficult times.

  250. But they had such a heart of wanting to give

  251. to the Lord that they collected this offering and they

  252. said to Paul, take this offering and you know, send it,

  253. send it to Jerusalem. So Paul was taken up, so

  254. taken up right. The whole leadership leaders will say, wow,

  255. you know you're in you're in greater need than than

  256. any of us, and yet you want to give this gift.

  257. So Paul was taking the example of the Macedonian Church

  258. and sharing it with the church in Korin, reminding them

  259. that they too were the first to respond. But it's

  260. taken one year. They haven't delivered their gift yet. So

  261. that's where Paul was encouraging the church in Korinth. So

  262. you want to read what made the Macedonian church give

  263. in such a way even though they were lacking? All right,

  264. So we're reading from Second Corinthians, Chapter eight. If you

  265. have your bibles, we're still in by ob Okay, don't

  266. trade your bible, keep it all right, um, And now

  267. we're gonna read. But if you don't mind, I'm going

  268. to read it from a different version JB. Phillips. All right,

  269. it's a JB. Phillips version. So it's the whole story.

  270. So here we go follow three. If you are okay,

  271. thank you for showing there. Whatever, I'm gonna read JB. Phillips.

  272. So Paul says, now, my brothers, we must tell you

  273. about the grace that God has given to the Macedonian

  274. churches somehow, in most difficult circumstances. Their joy and the

  275. fact of being down to their last penny themselves produce

  276. a magnificent concern for other people. I guarantee that they willing,

  277. They were willing to give to the limit of their means. Yes,

  278. and b on their means, without the slightest urging from

  279. me or anyone else, says Paul. In fact, they simply

  280. begged us to accept their gifts and so let them

  281. share the honor of supporting their brothers in Christ. Nor

  282. was their gift, as I must confess, I had expected

  283. a mere cash payment. Instead, they made a complete dedication

  284. of themselves, first to the Lord and then to us

  285. as God's appointed ministers. Now this has made us, therefore

  286. us Titus. So Titus was us, who has already done

  287. so much among you, to complete his task by arranging

  288. for you too to share in this work of generosity.

  289. Already you are well to the fore in every good quality.

  290. You have faith. You can express that faith in words.

  291. You have knowledge, enthusiasm, and your love for us. Could

  292. you not add generosity to your virtues? Add On, paulsies

  293. don't want you to read this as an order. It

  294. is only my suggestion, prompted by what I have seen

  295. in others of eagerness. To help. And here's a way

  296. to prove the reality of your love. Do you remember

  297. the generosity of Jesus Christ, the Lord of us all?

  298. He was rich beyond our telling, Yet he became poor

  299. for your six so that he might so that his

  300. poverty might make you rich. A Manda reading of God's word.

  301. It's a bit more, you know, easier English. Okay. So

  302. the second point is your intimacy with God. Drawing out

  303. of Second Corinthians, chapter eight, verse one to seven, and

  304. we're focusing firstly in this portion. The verse is verse five,

  305. which says Paul says, I don't know how they could give,

  306. but but I figured it out. Why. It's because they

  307. first gave themselves to the Lord and then to us

  308. by the will of God. This intimacy with God is

  309. so important for each and every one of us. As

  310. we grow in our faith with Christ, we go deeper

  311. a little bit more every season of our walk with Jesus.

  312. Come on, judge, amen, yeah, if you're you know this

  313. is for eternity. Life we walk with christis for eternity.

  314. Who better to deal to grow closer to on a

  315. day to day basis, On a regular basis is Jesus

  316. to deepen ourselves by first giving ourselves to the Lord.

  317. And these children of faith, the Macedonians, gave themselves to

  318. the Lord and then to the leadership right. So for me,

  319. I see that as intimacy with God. When you are

  320. having intimacy, the word intimate is the word to know.

  321. In Genesis chapter two, where to know Adam new Eve,

  322. the knowing, the intercourse, the connection produces a fruit. And

  323. so as our faith intimacy with God goes deeper and deeper,

  324. there there is a fruit. There's a produce. We produce

  325. the fruit of the faith that God has put in us.

  326. So these people produced because they gave themselves first. They built,

  327. and they developed an intimacy with Christ. So I do

  328. not speak at you. I'm speaking to myself as well,

  329. and on a year to year basis, to ask ourselves,

  330. have we given ourselves first to the Lord? Because when

  331. you give yourself to the Lord, you go deeper in

  332. your talking, in your fellowship with the Holy Spirit. And

  333. it's not just about praying a prayerless or you're asking

  334. for things, but you're just sitting before the Lord and

  335. worshiping with your own song. Sometimes it's a broken song.

  336. But God listens to your song and he enjoys you

  337. as you enjoy the lot in your quiet time. You

  338. break up some of your days where it's just you

  339. just worshiping, just reading the word, just being still quiet,

  340. and hear from the Lord. And when you and I

  341. say here, I don't think he always says to me,

  342. Hello Sandra, Hello John. But something stirs in my heart

  343. that gives me an assurance that God is with me

  344. in this particular journey I'm going through or whatever. So

  345. I want to encourage us. This intimacy can only happen

  346. when you first give yourself to the lot. Amen, give

  347. yourself to the Lord. Make room for the Lord, Make

  348. room for the Lord to speak. I find that many

  349. people pack up their days, their weeks with a lot

  350. of appointments. So when you ask them to go out

  351. for a meal, they're sorry. There with somebody else. Maybe

  352. they're afraid to be alone. Maybe they're singles. They want

  353. to pack up their days, you know, because don't have

  354. a boyfriend or whatever or some other activity, and so

  355. they pack it all up. But can I say to you,

  356. don't pack up your life with activities. Give some room

  357. in a week, day to just spend with the Lord

  358. just a few thirty minutes an hour and receive from it,

  359. grow your intimacy so that you can recognize the voice

  360. of the Shepherd, and he will speak to us. Amen.

  361. I do that. I do that. You know their daily

  362. quiet time is daily quiet time. But in between them,

  363. sometime I just stop from everything in that hour and

  364. just say, Okay, Lord, I just want to worship you

  365. with my broken song. Nobody knows the song. Yeah, I

  366. know the song. So I write my own songs and

  367. sing to him. Amen. And you just give yourself to

  368. the Lord. So I ask two questions for us to consider.

  369. What does it mean for you to give yourself first

  370. to the Lord? What does that mean? What does that

  371. look like for you to give yourself first to the Lord?

  372. Have you done it now and then here and there?

  373. But what does it mean? Second, when is it easier

  374. to give yourself to the Lord during times of plenty

  375. or during times of less than plenty? I don't know

  376. an answer because it's a very individual answer. When is

  377. it easier to give yourself to the Lord when you

  378. have plenty? Will you remember the Lord? The Bible says

  379. in Deuteronomy, when you are well. When you're filled, don't forget.

  380. There is the Lord who gave you the ability to

  381. make money. So after we've eaten and say oh it's

  382. all me, do that all right? Remember the Lord. Amen.

  383. And so when we have plenty, is it easier to

  384. forget or is it easier to remember? Or when we

  385. have less? Is it then only that we come to

  386. the Lord and give ourselves to the Lord. Okay, this

  387. is an answer only you can give imen as you

  388. talk to the Lord. But something for us to think about,

  389. because scripture tells us the Macedonian Christians, the believers gave

  390. themselves first to the Lord. Therefore they were able to

  391. give financially, even though they were themselves persecuted and in lack.

  392. They were definitely poor by whatever they had. They said, no, Jerusalem,

  393. the believers needed more than us. They were persecuted too,

  394. but they saw the need. They were not having food,

  395. they were not having a lot of me a lot

  396. of whatever basic needs. So they sent their funds across.

  397. Soone encourage us about us giving ourselves first to the Lord. Amen,

  398. Because when you give yourself to the Lord, you are

  399. the lords. And so I don't see Jesus ays Oh,

  400. you know Jesus. I see Jesus as my master. How

  401. do you see Jesus in your life? I see him

  402. as my master? Where where I mean? The Master says,

  403. I will do I don't. I don't have a doubt.

  404. I don't. He tells me to go, I go. Will

  405. I struggle with some things. I don't know. If you

  406. ask me to take my late CRUs pot and lend

  407. it to Leona, I'm not sure because because it's a

  408. La Crusade pot, my French port. But if I'm hearing,

  409. I need to give my with hands shipping. Here you go.

  410. You when the Lord speaks, because of your intimacy, you

  411. know it ain't going to be lacking, it's going to

  412. be overflowing. But we have to take a step of faith. Okay, Lord,

  413. we'll do it. Amen, we'll do it. Oh, ex has

  414. got so many stories from our pastor who's taken those

  415. steps of faith. Intimacy, We've got right. And the year

  416. that he took a sabbatica for the year was the

  417. very year that the the leadership in Singapore lost their

  418. pastor Chung in prison. The director changi Prison fellowship. Also,

  419. he goes to the prison in Chiangi, Reverend Henry Ku

  420. passed away and his brother mister kuh and Yong, Reverend

  421. kuhn Yong, said, would you come and pastor our church?

  422. I told my husband, don't you dare the voice of

  423. the wife unbelieving wife. Yes, it's like, no, you cannot

  424. take over another person's church. It's the worst thing to do.

  425. They'll give you hell. It's true. We take over somebody

  426. else's church is terrible. All the people will hate you. You know,

  427. what are you? And so we said, we already got

  428. so much to do and I want so bad to

  429. go past and say, uh, we'll pray about it. They say,

  430. but at least would you come, you know, and preach

  431. for us once a month. So we went to preach

  432. every month. And of course when you go, you you

  433. and there was I can't go tell you everything. But anyway,

  434. there were really old people in the church, very old.

  435. They would serve prison ministry and so because morning prison,

  436. then afternoon they would have church service. And they all

  437. came from actually different churches, but they use this as

  438. their fellowship and they would come for service. But then

  439. reverend Henry passes away, they really respected him. And then

  440. then then then you get the Reverend Cannel right, woonel

  441. are you write this young chap and they're really really old.

  442. Two thirds of the church was old people. Uh, And

  443. so he came to preach, and of course we fall

  444. in love with the people, right. And then later he

  445. goes and say yes, yes, yes, I will help. Then

  446. called Junguey Christian Fellowship. Now it's acting a pole. So

  447. he we go, I can't believe this, like I'm quite

  448. unbelieving it. Yeah, but my husband took a step of

  449. faith in the time of a sabbatical and the Lord said,

  450. I didn't. You can rest, but this is the rest. However,

  451. you're you're dealing with something else here. Don't let my

  452. church close down. Because they were going to close down

  453. the church church in Singapore not easy. They really got

  454. two different licenses as a charity and as a church

  455. us so much. Don't let it go. Don't let it down.

  456. So church went down. Of course when we took over,

  457. it went even down because all the old people left.

  458. They said this busters we said some things. But of

  459. course after that it just grew and we've got our people.

  460. In the twenties, many young people came to the church.

  461. So it's now much more younger, a little bit more younger,

  462. more more younger. And now we've got babies, all right,

  463. so all my leaders are getting married and having babies.

  464. And this is a since two thousand and nine. It

  465. was a step of faith. I don't know, it's so tough, right,

  466. I mean, our pastor there passed on and his son

  467. John has taken over. God used the trips that we made.

  468. Many of some of you here used to drive down

  469. to Singapore every Saturday morning service for Sunday afternoon. Friendships

  470. were built. I think some of you went down, drove down,

  471. then drove back up on Sunday midnight, start work on Monday.

  472. Thank you for all of you serve together with us.

  473. We were flying in doing a service here done and

  474. then go to KLA fly into the two thirty service.

  475. We just really I was it by I think I'm

  476. putting my faith in the airline Asia. Sometime I just

  477. you know, after the extra rass, I'd be oh, I

  478. forgot I have a fly to catch it. Help the

  479. skelter running the driving the airport. And we'd been doing

  480. that every Sunday. We would do a service after Subang.

  481. That time only one service Ubank fly over, fly over, flyover.

  482. And some people say, you're mad doing this, But God said,

  483. don't let my church close. And until the church was

  484. well established, we didn't have to do that anymore. Too

  485. often our teams drove in and out every weekend, once

  486. a month at least or twice a month to serve.

  487. If it wasn't by obedience, it wasn't by faith. I

  488. don't think we could have survived that. Friendships were built,

  489. the church was not closed down. It still continues. Amen.

  490. It had to be hearing from the Lord that would hear,

  491. not the unbelieving wife's words, the naughty wife. And of

  492. course the church turned around and says that new people

  493. came in. Those people where other churches went back to

  494. that church. And so we left us with very few.

  495. But the very few grew and we have what we

  496. have today, a good group of new families, young families,

  497. young adults. And God is good. Right. You've got to

  498. take a self faith, but you also got to have

  499. the intimacy relationship with the lot to hear and then

  500. to do. And that's what our pastor has done. And

  501. then all of us joined in and got a part

  502. of it. Some of you are such good friends. Some

  503. of ex partners and good friends with them in Singapore

  504. are going holidays together and God builds the church that way. Amen.

  505. So just encouraging us, When do we give ourselves to

  506. the Lord, because we might just miss an opportunity of

  507. a lifetime that got ones for us. Because we're hearing

  508. the unbelieving wife. Yeah, so better hear the voice of

  509. the Lord. Repented, repented, So act by faith a step

  510. of act. Whatever you do by faith. Number two we

  511. hear because we have an intimate walk with Jesus. And thirdly,

  512. as you begin to act on these steps of faith

  513. and are intimate with the Lord, you begin to grow

  514. in the likeness of Christ. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. That is

  515. at the end of the day, that is what we

  516. are meant for to look like Jesus Church. We're not.

  517. When Jesus comes back, when he's returned, he ain't looking

  518. for John. He the face. He is going to look

  519. at the Christ. God, the Father is looking at the

  520. Christ in John. You know, I'm so glad that every

  521. time God looks at you and me, he ain't seeing

  522. your faith my face, Eliate, He sees the blood of

  523. the lamb that's why we can enter into the throne

  524. of grace. It's the blood of the Lamb. And then

  525. the character that God is building in us is his

  526. very son. Would look like his son. So it's okay

  527. if your hair turns white, it's not that he's coming,

  528. for He's coming for the Christ in you, the hope

  529. of glory. Every time you take that intimate walk with

  530. Jesus and you obey Church, the Christian walk is a

  531. walk of obedience. It is not a walk of eye

  532. one and I like it is my convenience. It is

  533. a walk of obedience every time you obey the Lord.

  534. Doors open every time you say yes to Jesus. And

  535. not getting mixed up with you know, I'm not sure

  536. in Amela, I'm believing. Don't take Singapore and we've never

  537. had that opportunity to build the church in Singapore. With

  538. the planting of Singapore, the rebirthing of Singapore, going traveling

  539. in and out for two three four years, flying like

  540. this a really by God's grace and thank you for

  541. air Asia. We planted then three church five just in

  542. the year twenty twelve at one go. Because we had

  543. the faith to do this. Our faith expanded January, Expertswana, May, Exbergussi,

  544. ex Ampang was the day before in May. Then it

  545. was ex London in October, then it was ex Melbourne

  546. in November, and one more other plant I think pja

  547. or something like that. Hallelujah. Why because your faith is stretched,

  548. you lengthen your cards. You just every time you hear

  549. the Lord, people will laugh at Passcanada and say what

  550. is this man doing? But he hears from the Lord,

  551. and he asks by faith, if we inherit Church, we

  552. don't say, are you more work for us? The wife

  553. on you will say that, but all of us will

  554. just have an opportunity to have a part in the

  555. Kingdom of God's building building. Right, so we God is

  556. we grow into the likeness of Christ. Why because Christ

  557. first gave we want to look like Jesus. Amen. And

  558. that's and ex exactly in Two Corinthians. In two Corinthians

  559. eight seventy nine says you know, that's where Paul is saying. Hey.

  560. In verse seven, he says, as you abound in everything

  561. in your faith, yes, in your speech, can speak very eloquently,

  562. in your knowledge, yes, in your diligience, yes, in your

  563. love yes. But one more thing that is of Christ, generosity,

  564. the spirit of generosity, the grace. In the New King James,

  565. he just says this grace, but if you study that word,

  566. it just means the grace of generosity. God asking us

  567. to add this more, one more thing, just like my Jesus.

  568. He went to the cross, he gave his life, He

  569. became poor that you and I might become rich. Amen.

  570. So we want to look like Christ. You know. In

  571. X twenty thirty five he says that is better to

  572. give than to receive. He says, Jesus said, better to

  573. give than to receive. WHOA don't have exact words like

  574. they recorded everything because a lot of things Jesus said

  575. they couldn't record. But Jesus himself acted on those. He

  576. acted on it. He showed us what it is to give,

  577. not just to receive. He always gave. He always gave.

  578. He came to serf not to be served. Amen. So

  579. I believe that as we we take a step of faith,

  580. as we walk close with the Lord intimate relationship, is

  581. he really master of my life? Or just I tell you,

  582. I tell you when to turn, you turn, then he's

  583. then I'm master? Amen? She said Jesus take the wheel.

  584. Selena said, Jesus take the wheel. If Jesus takes the wheel,

  585. and you better not be the back seat driver. You

  586. can be backstreet boys, but not backstreet driver, back seat driver.

  587. So Jesus takes the wheel. Jesus take the wheel. Yeah,

  588. and he turns on the road of generosity. Jesus stopped

  589. turning to the road of generosity. I don't want to

  590. be generous. Jesus takes the wheeler does the road or forgiveness.

  591. I don't want to forgive him, but I but you say,

  592. take the wheel.

  593. No, So who's holding the wheel now? On the backseat driver?

  594. I'll tell you where you go. So we gotta you know,

  595. check our hearts. Sometimes when Jesus took the turn to

  596. the road of generosity, we also turn ler or road

  597. of forgiveness, or the road of service, you know, the

  598. road of care, the road of kindness. I don't know

  599. what road Jesus would take you when he takes the wheel,

  600. but we want to look like our Christ. And so

  601. when you turn to when you look at Luke chapter six,

  602. verse thirty to thirty one and thirty three thirty five,

  603. you will see about how we should treat our enemies right,

  604. and he says here in Luke Sick thirty he says,

  605. give to everyone who asks of you, and from him

  606. who takes away your goods, don't ask them back. You

  607. took my luc who say I want to ask it back, Leona.

  608. And just as you want men to do to you,

  609. do also to them. Likewise, do unto others as you

  610. want them to do to you. Is the golden rule,

  611. all right. So whenever you want people to treat you,

  612. treat people nicely, then people will treat you nicely. That's

  613. part of life. When you saw it's what you read right.

  614. Verse thirty five says, love your enemies, do good, lend,

  615. hoping for nothing in return a very hard ware, and

  616. your reward will be great, and you will be the

  617. sons of the mouse high for his kind to the

  618. unthankful and evil, Oh, very hard people who you know,

  619. people who make life difficult for you? Ask you to

  620. be kind? What are you, hola, hola? Oh, this person

  621. don't make my life easier? Ask you to be kind

  622. your Jesus, He says, Well, then you're no different from

  623. the ones out there. But if you hope for nothing

  624. and you bless them, ride verse thirty five. You will

  625. be the sons of the Most High. You will look

  626. like my son who loved them, who nailed him to

  627. the cross, who loved them, who said we want Barabas

  628. nail Jesus to the cross. Wow, we wouldn't want to

  629. look like Jesus. We gotta do opposite then, what people

  630. expect of you and me, And you don't. So we

  631. don't pray things like all that's my enemy. You don't

  632. put rain for them, don't give them sunlight. Sorry, Jesus,

  633. God will make the sun come up and the sun

  634. go down.

  635. For everybody, both your enemies, his enemies, whatever, because God's

  636. nature is one of sacrifice and of unconditional love.

  637. So we cheer each other on and say, let's look

  638. more like Jesus. Let's look more like Jesus. I know

  639. it's hard, the person hurt you. I know it's hard.

  640. I know it's hard. But let's let's move forward by faith,

  641. walking intimately with Christ and maybe look more like Christ. Amen.

  642. So Paul was really encouraging the believers in Kourine not

  643. to just you know, many of us who can abound

  644. in our faith, or we speak very well, we have

  645. knowledge about the Bible. You know, all your doctrines, very

  646. enthusiastic to serve, we love, But he said, add on

  647. the grace of generosity. To find a generous heart at

  648. all times. It needs to be inculcated. Not all of

  649. us are generous. Just like that, you're not being able

  650. to bless anyone anytime, not looking forward to much. You

  651. pay me back. I pay you lunch the picnic, so

  652. you take me lunch. No, it's just God said, you

  653. want to look like me, then act like me. When

  654. we started axt church in twenty five years ago, the

  655. first service, pastor had to take the offering because God

  656. said take the offering. Pastor Kna said, I can't. There's

  657. just two others and myself. What offering are we going

  658. to take? The word was don't rob my people. Don't

  659. rob my people, which I'll come to that the next

  660. point he said, take the offering. Take the offering because

  661. the offering is unto the Lord and it will abound

  662. to them. God wants the gift the fruit for the person.

  663. So we started doing offering on day one, even though

  664. it was only three people. Right, So we just want

  665. to really grow in our likeness of Christ. And one

  666. of those virtues is the generous heart. And our father

  667. has an unconditional generous heart towards you and me, So

  668. I'm always very thankful. That's why my prayer every morning

  669. is just thank you Lord that you receive me, broken

  670. and quite unbelieving soul at times, and naughty, but thank

  671. you Lord that you receive me. And the blood of

  672. the Lamb is what watches me and cleanses me so

  673. that I can treat others better as I grow. And

  674. I learned four fly friends, let us sew for eternity. Amen,

  675. and then you abound on Earth, so towards eternity and

  676. a bound on Earth while you're still living on planet Earth, helirija. Amen.

  677. How do we look at that? If we look at

  678. Matthew Chapter six, verse nineteen. Matthew chapter six, verse nineteen.

  679. You all know this, right, Matthew. Matthew chapter six, verse

  680. nineteen says, guys, you know this verse. Don't lay up

  681. for yourselves treasures on where the mouth and a rass

  682. will destroy, where thieves will break in and steal. But

  683. Jesus says, lay up for yourself treasures in heaven, where

  684. neither mouth ras destroys, where thieves will not break in

  685. and steal. Where your treasure is there, your heart will

  686. be also amen. A good reminder. I haven't read this

  687. verse for young's and then in preparation for this message,

  688. it led me back where my treasure all right, where

  689. your treasure is there, your heart will be amen. Right,

  690. it's like dead lives. It's like when you're in love

  691. with the girl in this place, or you want to

  692. see love because your heart is there. Right, we don't care, mother,

  693. say what I want to see her? Yeah, it's like

  694. that when you're in love. Right, save with with with us.

  695. Where we saw our our our strength, our time, right,

  696. our talent, our treasure, that's where our heart is, truly God,

  697. it's very evident. When I used to date a guy,

  698. another guy before my ex ex boyfriend, not ex husband,

  699. ex boyfriend, ex boyfriend. This is my ex boyfriend that

  700. wants my ex boyfriend paid no other girlfriend me. I

  701. had many so recording a cut so when I when

  702. I when I was dating a banker one time, this

  703. guy he would observe me and apparently he said, every

  704. time I drive you up to your church, your face

  705. lights up, but you don't light that when you see me,

  706. I said, really, I love church, I love serving. I

  707. love you with ministry. So people can see if your

  708. face lights up when you go to church. I think

  709. it looked like that because he saw it, and he's thinking,

  710. you don't look like that when you see me. It

  711. was a good sign I should not marry this person,

  712. A very good sign I am not good for this

  713. person because I'm so sold out to the mini I

  714. mean whatever you can say, I just love going to church.

  715. I just love being with whatever God has given me

  716. an opportunity to serve it. So he noticed that, and

  717. I never noticed. I said really, And that got me

  718. thinking we don't share the same passion for what really

  719. drives us. Right. So after, I mean after, I didn't

  720. call off the relationship. He did because I love God

  721. too much. Then he called it off and then later said, no,

  722. I want you back. No, no, we sing the Backstreet

  723. Boys song. Whatever. I forgot, whatever I say, Sorry, I

  724. wanted that way. Okay, So I'm like, sorry, nobody, nobody

  725. breaks my heart or drops me. I drop you, you

  726. don't drop me. Right, So, but I knew God was

  727. speaking and speaking, but I wasn't listening because I was

  728. afraid to not have a boyfriend because everybody in my

  729. group married. So I was always hanging with the campus

  730. students because I'm in youth ministry, hanging out with them

  731. right the best time ever. And so just dropped me.

  732. But then that's where I realize, when you're sewing towards eternity,

  733. that's just eternal. My time, my treasure, my talent, I

  734. couldn't see. I just enjoyed doing what I did. So

  735. as I sewed towards eternity many many lives, or whenever

  736. God caught me to do, I then abounded on earth

  737. the blessing that God would give. But where was my treasure?

  738. My treasure was in what God was interested in, the

  739. lost young lives, the ministry of his house sew into eternity.

  740. So where's your treasure? People? You know it's not wrong

  741. to grow your wealth because God. In Deuteronomy chapter eight,

  742. he says God gives you power to make wealth. Deuteronomy,

  743. you get God gives you power to make wealth. So

  744. make wealth. Because some of you are very good doing business,

  745. I am not. I lose business skick because we're always

  746. giving money away and not good. He's always giving away.

  747. Na.

  748. Na, you're aware not. So God gives you power to

  749. make wealth. Make the wealth, because that's a blessing of

  750. God in your life. Called for you to be an entrepreneur,

  751. a business owner. But just ask ourselves, you know, how

  752. are you sewing? Are you building your wealth towards something eternal?

  753. What's God calling you to do with your wealth? Because

  754. you always give you more than you need, and you

  755. have extra to give to others. That's a teaching even

  756. in the Bible. If you read the book of Ruth,

  757. Boas said to his glean to his I don't know

  758. the English word. Suddenly the people who sow and reap

  759. their farmer or whatever, leave a bit. The laborers leave

  760. a bit. Don't sew everything, don't don't go and take

  761. everything into the storehouse. Leave some of the grain because

  762. the poor will need it. But he also thought about

  763. but that's part of their Levetical law. You can read

  764. in Levetticus. Leave some because Ruth will get to glean

  765. in it. So God will always give you more than

  766. you need and enough to give away. The Macedonian Church

  767. were already poor, but yet out of their giving of

  768. themselves to the Lord from their poverty, they gave me

  769. collected and they gave. All right, So where are you

  770. and I sewing? Whether we have little or whether we

  771. have a lot, we should sew towards eternity, where our

  772. treasure is there our heart will be. Paul was calling

  773. out to the church in Philippi, and he said to

  774. the believers, he said, give right. If you read the context,

  775. they were also collecting a gift for the church. And

  776. he said, hey, guys, not that I seek the gift Philippins,

  777. Chapter four, verse seventeen. Philippins, Chapter four, ver seventeen. He

  778. says him asking you to give and encouraging you to give.

  779. Why not that I seek the gift, But I seek

  780. the fruit that abounds to your account. I want you

  781. to abound church. I want you to have the experience

  782. the power of God's provision. But learn to give. That's

  783. what he told the church, and Philippie, who was also

  784. collecting to give to the church in macedoniave I think so,

  785. if not to Jerusalem. So he said, give, And that's

  786. why passed the challenge from the Lord. Was collect that

  787. offering because I'm wanting the gift to abound to the people.

  788. I'm not taking I want them to abound and experience

  789. the abundance. Amen. Amen. So as you saw your time,

  790. your talent, your treasure, you saw it unto the Lord. Amen,

  791. sew it to eternity. If you're building your wealth, which

  792. is God given to you, sow it, I mean, do well.

  793. But I need to teach you somebody sew it well

  794. into the things of eternity. But remember that God has

  795. made you able to do that. Thank You made you

  796. able to do that, so that when you have, and

  797. you have more than enough, you can give. Right. We

  798. read the verses in verse in our Second Corinthians chapter nine.

  799. God loves that your forgive a la la lah, you know,

  800. give give. So I want to encourage you my favorite verse,

  801. and I sing this song anyone lived in my time

  802. where dinosaurs walked the earth, and I sang it before.

  803. In Luke chapter six, verse thirty eight, Give and it

  804. will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together,

  805. running over, Give and it will come back to you

  806. good measure, press down, shaking together, running over. Give. Give

  807. to the Lord. Amen, you give. Don't ever hold back

  808. your gift, especially when it's given to the Lord. Amen.

  809. Because you so towards eternity he says, give and it

  810. will be given to you good measure, pressed down, shaken together,

  811. so can give more, can come in more to you,

  812. running over when we put into your bosom, for with

  813. the same measure that you use, it will be measured

  814. back to you. If you give to the Lord a teaspoon,

  815. you got to get back a teaspoon. That's all. That's all,

  816. he says. You sow, you reap. If you give God

  817. a truck full, you will get a truck full measure

  818. back to you. Press down, shaking together, running over. I

  819. want a running over kind of giving, so that I

  820. will never like When I was sixteen and naive Christian

  821. my self, group leader said to me, would you rather

  822. be rich or would you not rather be rich? And

  823. then my naive answer was, I think I would just

  824. not be rich, And I choose to be in the

  825. Lord because when I need I will ask him and

  826. he will provide for me. Naive answer at fifteen sixteen,

  827. But that's it. That's it. If he given you power

  828. to make wealth, make wealth, but know how to soul,

  829. and if we don't have, ask him and so he

  830. will give to us. Amen. I stand in amazement every

  831. day as I look at my husband. I really don't

  832. know where the money comes from. I don't give him

  833. pocket money. It's like a choice choy thing, you know.

  834. I say, hey, bug, I give you something. Hey no no, no,

  835. no no no no. I never I help you payler

  836. no no no no no no no no. God will

  837. provide for me. Really unbelieving my fear. I don't know,

  838. And so we never argue about money. We don't you

  839. you have no Of course I get angryllave and he

  840. loses it la. Only one time he did a bad mistake,

  841. and I'm like, right, because I wanted the oven and

  842. you didn't want to give me an aven early days

  843. of marriage, wouldn't know why No, then you lose the money.

  844. I believe that he's learned to live by faith. Thirty

  845. years we are married, thirty years. There's thirty years of

  846. watching him bless me when he couldn't. He was very sad.

  847. Early days. We had our heart. We've all done our

  848. hot miles. We all will have our heart miles. We

  849. must do our heart miles. So we understand lack, need

  850. ask receive. And every time we have lack, can I say,

  851. don't let your pride get in the way, because the

  852. very thing that you need, God would use your enemy

  853. to bless you. Then you didn't see church or church

  854. I don't receive from you. But God still uses people

  855. until today. I don't know how he doesn't fall from

  856. the sky, seriously doesn't. It could be a monkey on

  857. the tree shaking down, but he But he robbed that

  858. bag from somebody, right. God always uses a person, So

  859. my I think, I tell myself, I tell us, just

  860. be ready if God will use you to bless somebody

  861. with etiquette, money, to bless somebody with I don't even

  862. don't even think that. But that's a rich man. You

  863. don't know what that need today. Yesterday they were rich.

  864. Today they're not rich. Something happened. Don't question and say,

  865. but he's got like houses. Don't care. I've God told

  866. you you just knock, knock. I tell you what. The

  867. pride will go and humility will take over and they

  868. will just say thank you Jesus. So God can use

  869. you to meet a need. God always uses people. He

  870. doesn't use a donkey because they don't work and they

  871. don't have money. La, Okay, he uses us. We have

  872. to remember that we're sewing for eternity. We want to

  873. abound and see the abounding while we're still alive and

  874. planet Earth, we were abound that you will never lack

  875. done our hot Miles and I share this story all

  876. the time. When we first got married, we didn't he

  877. owned on he earned only eight hundred or five hundred rate.

  878. All is he's in on the vows and all my

  879. warly what and all my worly riches, I bestown the

  880. vowler the vow we say. I really knew that was

  881. not true because I turned around and look at at nothing,

  882. very unbelieving. He said, all my early whatever, all my riches. Right,

  883. my husband has blessed me more times than I have

  884. ever blessed him. He has given me more times than

  885. I would have given him. And I don't even want

  886. to ask him where he gets it from. Maybe he

  887. robbed it. I don't know. It's better that I don't know, right, yeah, yes,

  888. just better. The wife don't know until I sit in

  889. a service and here his testimony. That's when I found out.

  890. So you probably heard it first and then you tell me,

  891. and then I knew. So don't think everything he says.

  892. I know, I don't know. People would tell me. But

  893. really because I'm never in the same service and very

  894. seldom right. So take a step of faith. I can't.

  895. I really, I married a man. I didn't know that

  896. will live like that work law. But God told me

  897. to live by faith, Danny. So shero like, let's pray

  898. that you and I will go to Melbourne and see

  899. your grandmother. See y'all, let's pray together. They got will

  900. provide fers. The jos shall live by faith. I never

  901. understood that, but that was my first year of marriage.

  902. He did that to me. I'm like, you're mad. My

  903. church never taught me that. Nothing right. He's in the

  904. Bible a kid, you not. He said, you need to

  905. see your grandmother. We've not seen her for years. I'll

  906. take you. The two etiquettes came. My faith just grew

  907. and I've got to see my grandmother. And every year

  908. after that until she passed away. He said, I've done

  909. my duty. I've taken you to see your grandmother every

  910. year until the day she died. It has to be fain, friends,

  911. God never never forsake us. You trust him for it,

  912. and if it's a God thing, he will provide for us.

  913. If it's not a God thing, you cannot provide for you.

  914. But if it is, he will do it. So, friends,

  915. let us sew to eternity that you may bound on earth.

  916. Don't go and sew into earth and you think you're

  917. going to nothing Earth you sow, you only reap earth eternity.

  918. You saw you sow for eternity. Amen, I encourage you

  919. so and the Lord. You refresh others and you yourself

  920. will be refreshed. Problebs eleven, twenty four, twenty five says,

  921. as you refresh others, you yourself will be refreshed. Feel

  922. down today, you feel like I'm so lethargic. I tell

  923. you why why don't you buy lunch for somebody? Why

  924. don't you take it and your pray and say, God,

  925. who can I give this? To give it? I tell you,

  926. as you refresh somebody, somebody will you, yourself will be refreshed.

  927. It's a principle of God. If you're children of God,

  928. then a's follow what you want to make room. This

  929. is how we make room. God said it. Let's do it.

  930. Don't don't think and calculate so much. Do it? Amen?

  931. And lastly, friends, develop a spirit of cheerful and joyful

  932. heart of giving. Develop it we got time. We still

  933. got time. We still got time. Amen to give a cheerfully,

  934. to joyfully give. You know, even the Lord ask the

  935. people to provide for the building of the tabernacle in

  936. Exodus twenty five, verse two. As I end and as

  937. I close, I just want to say, sometimes we as

  938. children of God, we sometimes get very you know, doubtful

  939. and say, why must I give? Even as we're preparing

  940. for our aniversary once a year, instead of getting the birthday,

  941. give we give a birthday gift to the Lord. We

  942. give to the Lord. Give to the Lord. The Lord

  943. said to the children of Israel formosa, speak to the

  944. children Israel. In Exodus twenty five, verse two. He says,

  945. speak to the children Israel, that they bring me an

  946. offering from everyone who gives it willingly with his heart.

  947. You shall take my offering Exodus twenty five and verse two.

  948. But then you see what happens in Exodus thirty six.

  949. So every day you take the whole chapter thirty six,

  950. verse one to verse seven. Every day they brought their

  951. free will offerings every morning until the craftsman said it's

  952. too much. The people of God will never lack. Come

  953. on Church, Jesus became poor that we may be rich.

  954. Don't ever declare to yourself at I am were I

  955. don't have enough you and I have. It's dashed somewhere

  956. because they gave free will offerings every morning until it

  957. was too much and they said stop. They had to

  958. restrain the people. Really, God has blessed the church, just

  959. the church, not excellently church, and I really the church

  960. has really been a blessing to the community. The church

  961. must bless within as it were blessed without. It comes

  962. from the church. I always say, you know, the Methodist

  963. Church is so blessed. The Baptist Church. They believer us.

  964. They they in the past they have sown so much.

  965. God will not forsake his church. But once they start withholding,

  966. then that's where things go alry, because we're not sowing

  967. for eternity so acts. So I have to say, over

  968. the years twenty five years, I've seen the generosity of

  969. people giving. I tell you, if I tell you there's

  970. a need now wherever I've I've seen it being taken up.

  971. I actually made the need. Other judges were saying to us,

  972. X always responds the first, because your pastor always responds

  973. the first, and the need, and he encourages us, not

  974. that he deserves one of the gift from us, but

  975. that he wants you to abound generous.

  976. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

  977. information on our church, please visit X Church RG. We

  978. are also active on Facebook and Instagram. We're believing that

  979. this week is going to be a good week.

  980. I hit for you. God bless
