You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
The message I have in stuff for us today is
-
called overcoming your fears. Overcoming your fears. And you know,
-
we know that the theme for our church, you know,
-
as we launch into a new theme is disciples.
-
First, right, Disciple disciple first, disciples first, right.
-
Uh. And sometimes we look at a title like that
-
we can immediately get, you know, And I hope nobody
-
here is jaded to start thinking, oh man, more meetings,
-
more meetings, more discipleship classes to go to, mom huddle meetups,
-
more leaders coming to tell me, hey, maybe it's time
-
for you to join a huddle, and this and that
-
and that and then. But you know, when we think
-
of discipleship or making disciples, it's really not an internal meeting.
-
The Jesus model is always external. When Jesus gave the command,
-
it says that go into the world and make disciples
-
of all nations. He's not saying that let's have more meetings,
-
let's have more you know, church meetings. He's saying that
-
I want you to go out there, and I want
-
you to influence the world. And I want you to
-
remake the world in my image, in God's image, in
-
Jesus' image. And it got me thinking, you know that, yes,
-
we know that that there are times so we need
-
to spend time, you know, with our discipleship circles in church,
-
you know, in Ohodos and whatnot. But the Law also
-
wants us to go out there and disciple the world.
-
And so whether you are currently in a leadership capacity
-
or not, it does not matter. We are all called
-
to make disciples. And wherever God has placed you, that's
-
your your your your target audience, that's where God wants
-
you to make disciples off. And I started to think of, like,
-
you know, in the world that we're living in right now,
-
you know, many times Christianity doesn't have a very good impression.
-
You know, people don't really have good impressions about Christianity
-
because either there's not enough practical living out of our
-
faith a man. A lot of times, you know, I
-
meet whether people in this country or the country that
-
I'm currently serving, a lot in A lot of people
-
grew up religious, They attended religious classes, they attended chapel,
-
they attended missionary schools, and so they know a lot
-
of information about Christianity, but they don't see a lot
-
of application. And it got me thinking of, like, you know,
-
one way that we can make disciples is to really
-
role model out what it means to love, because our
-
faith is about God loving us, you know, sacrificially and selflessly.
-
You know.
-
Another way is for us to role model out or
-
what it means to show grace to other people, because
-
our entire faith is built on the fact that God
-
constantly shows us grace and and and another thing of course,
-
uh and and I think this is particular apt to
-
the seasons that we're living here right now, is that
-
we need to role model and lead the way to
-
the world around us and what it means to live
-
courageously because we are living in the in the season
-
where you know, everything is so fearful, right, everything is
-
so fearful. You know, whether a certain president of a
-
certain country wake up and decide to hit the world
-
with more tariffs, some people are thinking, you know, wild
-
Malaysia be involved in some of these tariffs.
-
Uh.
-
You know, people are saying that, well's this caused a
-
global recession. Fear fear, fear, fear, fear, and that's on
-
top that's that's just economic fear. There are the fears
-
that we go through every day. You know, I'm not
-
sure whether it's like a health fat thing, but but
-
but but since coming back to Malaysia, you know, blood tests,
-
blood test seems to be a very cool buzz word.
-
Everyone's saying that have you don'e a black test yet?
-
Have you done a black test? Have you done a
-
blood test? I'll be like, what like when I left
-
Malaysia to serve the Lord. You know, now now, thanks
-
Selena to almost ten years now, you know, the blood
-
test was not the buzzword.
-
You know, but now blood tests you know, oh, blood tests.
-
You know, you go for this blood test, you signed
-
for this package, and you will tell you know, how
-
well your kidneys are working, how were your liver is working.
-
You know, they can do all these kind of things.
-
So we're living in a climate of fear, whether it's
-
economic fear, health fear, or just the unknown fear of
-
the future. And so as Christians, it's very important for
-
us to to to go like, you know what, God,
-
you did not create me to live under fear. In fact,
-
you know, the Bible says that perfect love cast out
-
all fear. And and we know for the fact that
-
that God did not give us a spirit of fear,
-
but he gave us, you.
-
Know, a power, love, and a sound mind.
-
And so as Christians, you know, because we are people
-
who have faith in the.
-
God who holds tomorrow.
-
I think that one of the hallmarks of Christians should
-
be courage. I believe that if if you're a Christian
-
in your in your workplace, in your campuses, uh, the
-
people around you should know you for for many good things.
-
They should know you for being a loving person, know
-
you for being a kind person. They should know you
-
for being a gracious person. But they should also know
-
you to be a courageous person. And that I believe
-
is what the Lord wants to get into our spirits today.
-
And so I want to share with us here a testimony.
-
Is that, okay, a testimony that that started out as
-
a story uh and uh.
-
And it was.
-
A personal journey wrastling with fear that helped me to.
-
You know, overcome fear.
-
And I hope that today my story, my testimony will
-
inspire you, encourage you to be people who are courageous,
-
because you know, we will all face something scary in
-
our lives sooner or later, and when we do, I
-
pray that we will not panic, but we will hold
-
on to the convictions of God and then we will
-
live out our faith for the world to see.
-
Amen.
-
You know, it's okay if I just shad a testimony,
-
you know, so you know. September tenth, twenty twenty four,
-
the Lord Bless myself a cat with a beautiful baby boy.
-
His name is James.
-
I would have shown you a picture except that I
-
lost my phony in my own car, but you're just
-
gotta take my word for it.
-
He's very cute.
-
He is currently holding the record for baby the bond
-
of the most hair in Ex London. But it's very
-
easy competition because there's only one baby Ex London, so
-
I can I can for now say that he is
-
the cutes maybe in Ex London, you know, but the
-
journey there started, you know, much earlier, and today is March.
-
What's the day to the March sixteenth?
-
March twelfth, twenty twenty four. I still remember.
-
March twelve, twenty twenty four was when Ken and I
-
went for our very first scan, very first scan, uh,
-
and so we went there for very first scan. We
-
were very excited. You know, we went in the room,
-
you know, stand the procedure. They were like, okay, you know,
-
we're gonna put some no jelly on your belly, you know,
-
on jet on cats. Uh, and we're gonna you know,
-
get the ultrasound scan.
-
And all that and uh, you know, and.
-
We were very excited and we you know, I was
-
getting my phone ready to take a picture of the
-
ultrasound or to take a video. But as they were
-
doing that, they were scanning, scanning, scanning, scanning, scanning. After
-
a while, you know, it got so serious that they
-
go like, so maybe you don't put your your phone away. Uh.
-
And then they go like they even turned off the
-
the ultrasound that we could see so that they could
-
focus on what was happening. And they were scanning, scanning, scanning, scanning, scanned,
-
and we're like, okay, you know, you sometimes in life
-
is like that. You know, you're you're just going through life.
-
You're just going through another routine day, another routine check up,
-
another walk in the park, and then suddenly sometimes just
-
like that, you know, life that is very calm can
-
still become very scary. And so certainly the two UH
-
scan technicians that are going like okay, or there's something
-
in your baby scan that that popped up. We're just
-
gonna go talk to a consultant down the hall, uh
-
in the in in in the meantime, maybe you guys
-
can will make you guys wait in another hall. And
-
so we were like okay, So we started going and
-
waiting another hall.
-
Uh.
-
And long story short, this consultant finally saw us and
-
go like, yep, they were right to refer you to us,
-
because as you were scanning for your baby, we noticed
-
that there's a certain fluid. So there's a fluid at
-
the back of the baby's neck called knuckle fluid. And
-
so they said that, you know, we don't know why,
-
but research and and and enough cases to have shown
-
us that babyes with a high knuckle fluid have a
-
high chance of having a lot of genetic disorders. And
-
so the acceptable level of a knuckle flow is three
-
point two millimeter three point two Uh, your son is
-
four point six millimeter. And so plus the fact that
-
you guys are older, you know, they're you know, the
-
UK doctors are very realistic, you know, like you know,
-
they look at my wife, you know, at the time
-
she was only nine.
-
Man, you're old. You know, uh what doesn't have grace.
-
That's why Christians need to show grace. Amen. Uh.
-
And and say that because you guys are older. Uh.
-
And and we're gonna do a black test.
-
Uh.
-
And we're gonna crunch some numbers. Uh, We're gonna factor
-
this thing in. So after all that, the doctors said that, okay,
-
you have basically one. You know, they were explaining, initially
-
explained to me, how many percent of getting this thing,
-
how many percent of your child contracting down syndrome, how
-
many percent of your child can ready at ward syndrome,
-
how many percent of your child can toe syndrome. And
-
and it's all very small numbers, just hitting you very
-
fast and furious. And then I go like, oh, okay,
-
but it doesn't look really a lot. But then the
-
doctor said that, yeah, it doesn't look very a lot.
-
But if you add them all together, you add them
-
all together, there is a one in four chance that.
-
Your child will not be born normal.
-
I know where was this doctor's big site patient manners?
-
I don't know, but he you know, maybe this doctor
-
thought that by being straightforward he can cut straight.
-
To the but he was basically saying that, so can
-
you imagine the shock to our system? And so we
-
were We thought.
-
We were just going in there, you know, seeing the
-
first scan of our baby, and suddenly we're being bombarded
-
with faced news and right then then we were in shock.
-
And on top of that, the doctor said that are
-
you guys open to the idea of termination in abortion?
-
In other words? And I go like, no, no, no,
-
we don't want to terminate our child. And then they're
-
gonna say are you sure? Are you sure? There's no
-
shame in changing our mind. You see, the world is
-
expert at throwing fear our way. The world is expert
-
at trying to be practical, trying to be pragmatic. But
-
as Christians, we are called to live in a higher way,
-
in a more faith way. Now, don't get me wrong.
-
It wasn't like Cat and I were like no problem, doctor.
-
You know, we were quite literally having a world turned
-
upside down and we were just holding insight. It was
-
just my my, my my Asian pride that they didn't
-
allow me to cry in front of doctor. And you know,
-
we just say that, you know what the doctor is
-
saying that if you want, we can do more tests.
-
You can do more tests, and you can do this
-
test now, which will will insert a needle straight into
-
your wife's belly to draw up some you know, genetic
-
material from your baby's son. But this will have how
-
many percentage of miscarriage? You know that they're telling all
-
the facts. And you know this doctor of course was
-
I don't know the Lord help him, you know, I
-
just remember his name is Matthias, so please don't name
-
is the mas lah. Yeah, yeah, it's okay. At least
-
now I know one good Matthias, you know im. I
-
was about to say that, oh, I'll never name my
-
child Mattias. I just remember his Matthias.
-
I was like, is this.
-
And he was just trigger happy, you know, And we
-
just say that can give us some time to think
-
about it, we need to pray about it. And then
-
they say that, okay, if if you can get back
-
to us tomorrow morning, if you want to go for
-
more procedure or tell us what you want to do next.
-
And in life it's like that, right You're going through
-
your day, you're just trying your best to just survive, uh,
-
and then things that you never asked for just get
-
thrown your way. And I believe also that when these
-
kind of things happen, it's not because God is not good,
-
but because God knows as Christians we are we should
-
be people who can handle the tough things. And God
-
is looking, you know, he's looking for his children to
-
rise up so that we can roll model for the
-
world what it's like to face the tough things in life,
-
the scary things in life. And in scripture there's a
-
similar story. Let's tend to mark Chip five, verse thirty
-
five to forty two. Mark five thirty five to forty two.
-
You have the story of a synagogue ruler. His name
-
is Gyrus, and he was inviting Jesus to come heal
-
his daughter. And if your dad can hear, good Amen,
-
and uh, we'll have it flash up.
-
Fantastic. Oh wow.
-
And so we'll go read from just verse thirty five.
-
We're gonna read from Mark five thirty five to forty two. Right,
-
so we're gonna read it says there. While he was
-
still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue's house,
-
who said, your daughter is dead. Why trouble the teacher
-
any further. When this story started, Gyrus was approaching Jesus
-
to say that can you come and.
-
Heal my daughter? She's not well. She's not well.
-
You know, he had enough faith to believe God for
-
a healing of somebody who is not well. But while
-
waiting for the healing to come, the situation became worse.
-
And now it's no longer a healing that he needs,
-
is a resurrection that he needs so much so that
-
it says that don't bother the teacher anymore. Your daughter
-
is already did right, let's keep reading. As soon as
-
Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said to
-
the ruler of the synagogue, do not be afraid, only
-
believe you see Jesus, this is how he wants us
-
to overcome fear.
-
Don't be afraid. Just believe. Believe in what.
-
Believe that all things will somehow turn out for the better. No,
-
believe in him, Believe in God. Believe that we serve
-
a God who cares. We serve a God who sees.
-
Amen. And then let's con you reading.
-
And he permitted no one to follow him except Peter James, John,
-
the brother of James. Then he came to the house
-
of the ruler of the cigaret and saw a tunnelt
-
and those.
-
Who wept and wailed loudly.
-
When he came in, he said to them, why make
-
this commotion and weep?
-
The child is not dead but.
-
Sleeping, Jesus declared, And they really killed him. But when
-
he had put them all outside, he took the father
-
and the mother of the child and also with him,
-
and entered where the child was lying. And he took
-
the child by a hand and said to her, taylita kumi,
-
which is translated, little girl, I say.
-
To you, arise.
-
And immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was
-
twelve years of age. And they will overcome with great amazement, heman,
-
praise God.
-
So you have also here a.
-
Similar incident of a father wrestling with a bad medical report.
-
And as I was wrestling, and both both myself and
-
Cat were wrestling, having twenty four hours to decide what
-
to do next, we turned to God.
-
We turned to scripture, and one of the scriptures that
-
spoke to us was this.
-
And you know, we started talking and and and and
-
through this journey, the Lord began to speak to me.
-
Uh and what he spoke to me will become a
-
three points this morning. So point number one, how do
-
we overcome your fear. You got to close it, got
-
to close it.
-
What do I mean?
-
We live in the world today, not of a lack
-
of information, but too much information.
-
Can you agree? Too much information?
-
Everybody now has an opinion about something, everybody has an idea.
-
You know.
-
Uh, there's there's too much information too readily at our fingertips,
-
you know, recently our I was just talking to our
-
social media team in the UK and I go like, oh,
-
one of your posts, you know, the audio didn't quite
-
work out. Can you guys fix it? And it replied
-
to me. I was like, oh, plasus it. We don't
-
have to fix it, but we're gonna ask chat GBT.
-
I'll be like, I never heard people say that before.
-
You know, during my time, you'll be we'll google it,
-
you know, or ask something. Now it's like we'll ask
-
the AI overlords what to do, and it will live
-
in the world right now where there's too much information,
-
way too much information. And so guys, you know, when
-
he pointed me to the scripture, he says that Dave
-
close it, close it, And Jesus reminded us that you know,
-
sometimes in life, when you want to believe God for
-
a miracle, when you want to believe God for a breakthrough,
-
you must be mindful to surround yourself with the right people.
-
You notice that when Jesus told Gyrus, don't be afraid,
-
just believe. But when he went to the house, he
-
had to close the door. He had to chase the
-
people out. And even though Jesus had twelve disciples, he
-
brought only three. Now, no shade against the rest. But
-
even Jesus know that, you know in this scenario, you
-
know he doesn't need Thomas.
-
To be there. Oh, Jesus, word, don't Jesus.
-
Just you know he doesn't need I don't know Philip
-
or Andrew to be there calculating, you know, like know
-
how much bread do we need? Jesus also had to
-
close it. He had to close the door. He had
-
to chase the people who are crying and making a
-
commotion out, keep the parents in, keep his care disciples in.
-
And then the miracle happened. And so, friends, if you're
-
going through something scary, I don't know what you know,
-
whether it's a medical report, whether it's a financial situation,
-
whether it's a job situation. The first thing you've gotta
-
do if you want to overcome, if you want to
-
begin to live courageously. Is that you're gotta close it
-
and then you're gonna make God the only voice. You're
-
gonna make Jesus the only way again. So if Jesus
-
roll modeled it out by going like you know what,
-
we're gonna we're gonna close this this, you know, loop
-
and and reduce the noise, then we're gonna do it too,
-
and so.
-
Can and I.
-
We prayed, but we didn't tell anyone about it because,
-
like I said, this will be the first baby in
-
our church in the UK, and a lot of young
-
people we don't know how they will handle. We don't
-
want it to be something scary for the younger married couples.
-
Last year we married, We married three couples, you know,
-
last year, and their church is growing. People are getting married,
-
you know. Just yesterday, I you know, a young man
-
texted me and say, past that think you're proposing so
-
so so you know, life is happening in church, and
-
so we were very mindful to go like, you know what,
-
I don't think the rest of church can handle this.
-
I don't think we can and put out an SMS
-
prayer link to go like he prayed for us. And
-
then so we just got to go like you know what,
-
like you're not We're gotta face this ourselves. But closing
-
it also means that, you know, we need some people
-
who are close in our lives.
-
You know, Jesus had Peter, you.
-
Know, he had James, he had John, the brother of James.
-
Who do you have? Who you have?
-
And so I know, you know, this year we'll talk
-
about this about ship first, but but we need, you know,
-
we need to open up our lives to some people
-
that really really care. And so one of the peoples
-
that we we didn't know what to do, you know,
-
but one of the peoples that we reached out to
-
was Passisendra.
-
And so we say, Passisendra, you know, and and she's amazing.
-
Because we we were we couldn't sleep, we were praying,
-
and we just didn't know.
-
We just needed a sounding board. Uh. And you know,
-
I remember at three a m.
-
We texted her three am or time, which would be
-
like I think in the morning over here, and uh
-
and we just say that passo.
-
Uh are you free to talk?
-
And she never asks what is it to just go
-
and say, yeah, sure, give me a few minutes. And
-
so in life we need leaders like that. We need
-
people like that, you know, we need you know, you know.
-
So if you're not, this is my my duty. If
-
you're not plugged into homes, please plug into homes.
-
If you're not in a.
-
Serving, you're gonna be serving because you need people in
-
your lives who really care now that can help you
-
go through some of the scariest moments in your life.
-
And so, you know, so the first part is you're
-
gonna close it.
-
Amen, You're gonna close yourself out to external voices. And
-
then you're gonna listen to the voice of Jesus because
-
only the voice of Jesus can lead to a miracle.
-
It was only Jesus commanding the little girl to rise
-
that the girl actually rolls. And so if you're going
-
through something right now, can I can I encourage you?
-
Just close it?
-
You know, it doesn't matter whether it's your parents or
-
your auntie, your uncle. Now everyone has an opinion, you know,
-
you have you had that friend who comes up to
-
you and go like, oh, I'm so scared for you.
-
Have you had people say that for you, I'm so
-
scared for you. But what happened? I'm so scared for you.
-
Why I don't need you to be scared for me.
-
I need to have a solution, but instead we.
-
Have people in our lives. I'm so scared for you.
-
You know. We need to close it, friends, and we
-
need to come back and make Jesus the main sound
-
the board of our lives.
-
Amen.
-
After that, what we need to do is we're going
-
to carry in, carry in, carry one. Carry your fears,
-
because if you don't carry your fears, your fears will
-
carry you and carry you to some really nasty places.
-
But you need to carry your fear, carry them where,
-
carry them to Christ. You know, the Bible says in
-
Matthew eleven. You know, come to me, all of you
-
who are weary, all of you who carry heavy burdens,
-
and I will give you rests as Jesus take my
-
yoke upon you and let me teach you, because I
-
am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find
-
rest for your souls. It is only when we carry
-
our burdens to Jesus that we are.
-
Able to find true rest.
-
And so, like I said, it was around March twelfth
-
that we had our first scan, and for last year
-
that was I think at the start of the U
-
turn season, and so we decide that, you know what,
-
we're gonna close it. We're gonna close it. We all
-
make God the only voice. We don't want to make
-
any more tests. The So what we did was, you know,
-
the next day, after praying, after talking about Sandra, and
-
say that we're just going through this, and Pass of
-
course was very sympathetic and say, let's pray together, let's
-
believe God for a breakthrough. The next day, we just
-
call back the doctor's office and go, let we don't
-
want to go for any more tests. We don't go
-
for any more tests because first of all, we don't want.
-
This to affect the way we love our baby.
-
But secondly, tests can give us a definitive conclusion. You know,
-
the test that all the doctor recommends is that this
-
will tell you the percentage. This will tell you the percentage.
-
This will tell you the percentage. And because as much
-
as the doctors like to be straight talkers, they also
-
like to protect themselves because they.
-
Say that if this one hundred percent rules it off,
-
it might come back to bite them.
-
So they just say that, you know so, So in
-
other words, if I don't close it, and if I
-
open my life to more exams and more tests and more,
-
you know, procedures, you'll never finish. One test will lead
-
to another test. I need to close it. I need
-
to go to Jesus. But secondly, I got to carry
-
it to Jesus. How do we carry to Jesus? We
-
carry it in worship, We carry it in communion, you know.
-
So I just remember they were in U turn. Every
-
day before breaking fast at seven pm, both Cat and
-
myself will spend an hour before that just having family
-
worship time, just having family worship time. And so we
-
will just worship the Lord and they will take communion together,
-
and then we will pray and then we will break fast.
-
Why why do we do that? Because we need to
-
carry it, not just to anywhere, but we need to
-
carry it to God. And then we need to carry
-
it and put it under the authority of God again.
-
And so another thing that God phatically challenge me to
-
do is to take the medical report. And I actually
-
still have the medical report here. And this was the
-
first medical report that was given, and if you're interested
-
in come and read it. But I took it and
-
it's still in my Bible. Because after that, the law
-
says I want you to take that medical report. I
-
want you to put it where it matters. I want
-
you to put it under the authority of the Bible.
-
And do you know that your Bible you can use it.
-
You know your Bible, you can highlight it. But you
-
know that your Bible, you know it represents God's word,
-
God's heart. Do you know that if you're going through something,
-
do you know you can write letters to the law
-
and place them inside. And so this is why I did.
-
I placed that medical report, that bad medical report, and
-
then place it under the authority of scripture and say
-
that God, I'm I can't carry this, but you can.
-
I am not strong enough, but you are.
-
And just as our Savior hung for us on the cross,
-
I'm now putting one additional thing and hanging on the
-
cross and believing God for healing. And so, friends, if
-
you're going through something, all right, close it God who
-
you listen to, make primarily God the person you're listening to.
-
But then also carry that burden. Don't need to overshare it,
-
don't need to share it on social media, don't need
-
to share it with with with with people you know
-
I know some of us. Here we find a Lord
-
draw and offloading. You know, we love to somehow I
-
saw somebody sit, you know, I overheard somebody say I
-
don't need a solution, I just need to vent. And
-
sometimes we love venting. We love venting what we're going through.
-
But friends, venting can't solve what we're going through. And
-
sometimes we've got to be very selective of what we do.
-
So you're gonna close it, you're gonna carry it, and then,
-
last but not least, you're going to cast it.
-
You're going to cast it. You're going to cast it out.
-
You know, like I said, you know, God has not.
-
Given us a spirit of fear about power and love
-
and a sound mind and the Bible, ASO says in
-
First John chapter four of US eighteen, that perfect love
-
cast out all fear. In fact, in Philippians chapter four
-
of US six seven, sisters, be anxious for nothing, but
-
in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. Let your
-
request be made known to God and the peace of God,
-
which surpass us all understanding. Will God your hearts and
-
minds true Christ, Jesus. Do you know that you know
-
a lot of us here we might be on Facebook,
-
on social media.
-
Have you ever had that.
-
I don't know, feeling like your phone is spying on
-
you have been there before. You know, you're talking about
-
traveling somewhere and instantly all the instagram comes up is
-
you know, airplane tickets or you're talking about shopping. And
-
then Steny it comes up and said that, right, do
-
you know that if the algorithm can be so I
-
don't know, devious, do you know that there's something worse
-
out there in the algorithm. It's called the enemy and
-
so close you know where you get your opinions from.
-
Carry your fears to God.
-
But this is something that we're gonna actively constantly do,
-
which is that I'm here to tell you we can
-
close our loop, we can carry it to the cross.
-
But doesn't change the fact that panic attacks will come.
-
Doesn't change the fact that we will have moments or
-
weakness where some very scary thoughts will come in, you know,
-
speaking of the algorithm. While going through all this, for
-
some reason, I don't know why, but the enemies need
-
to use a social media algorithm. I started seeing a
-
lot of social media accounts of children with special needs
-
popping up, popping up, popping up, popping up, popping up.
-
Whether it's a charity or whether it's those mummy bloggers,
-
whatever it is, I'm like, whoa, what is this man?
-
And that's where the Lord says that you're gonna cast
-
it out. Every time you feel so overwhelmed, you just say,
-
in Jesus name, get out, in Jesus name.
-
Whatever this fear, whatever this emotion, just get out, get out.
-
And so, friends, how my story enders this? Right? I
-
wish my son is here so you can see how,
-
you know, cute and healthy it is.
-
You just gotta take my word for it.
-
And so what we started to do, oh okay, some okay, yeah, yeah,
-
there's one of the pictures. Okay, yeah that's cute. There's
-
there's cute ones, but okay, cool. I'm very biased. So
-
what we started to do was we started to turn
-
to each other. We turn to God. We started to
-
worship every day, We take communion every day, and we
-
started to train.
-
Our minds to cast things out.
-
And I should remember the last week of U Turn,
-
final week of U Turn, as we're just worshiping.
-
And I can be real with you.
-
You know, there are days where it's hard to worship,
-
but we had to do it faithfully. Anyway, there are
-
days where it's hard to take community and believe that
-
God will you really, you know, because you do know
-
sometimes the enemy can come at you with very Christian voices,
-
you know. So for all my personal struggles, this is
-
but Dave your pastor were God is sovereign, you know.
-
God is sovereign. God can do anything right. So what
-
if God wants you to have a child with special needs?
-
And I really had to go like, Okay, God, is
-
this you or is this a very good impression of
-
you by the devil?
-
And this is where we really need to go back
-
to God.
-
We need to read scripture and not saying that God
-
is not sovereign and God can't do what he does.
-
But I'm also here to tell you that God's not
-
dead and God speaks, and so what We're faithfully going
-
through this and faithfully being bombarded with thoughts that sometings
-
I'm not even sure whether it's from me or from
-
the devil, and casting out becomes more.
-
And more murkier.
-
I want you to know that we serve a God
-
who does not leave us alone in our pain and
-
in our suffering. And so in the last week of Utah,
-
I just remember suddenly as I was worshiping. I just
-
had this sense of peace that came outside of me.
-
It didn't come within me. It came outside of me
-
and it entered me. And I had just sense until
-
today kids to hear it.
-
It was a voice that says it's done. It's done.
-
And I remember.
-
Telling Kat Kt, I just had this sense of feeling
-
that that it is done. And Kat goes like, really,
-
I didn't feel you know, I'm glad you felt it,
-
but I didn't feel it. And so it felt like,
-
you know, and I'm not trying to you know, rob
-
the glory of all the importance of pregnancy, you know,
-
and the price that women pay. But it felt right
-
there at that moment that while Kat was physically pregnant
-
with our son, God made me pregnant with a miracle.
-
And just as how we you know, pregnancy you need
-
nine months to deliver. I had within me assurance, you know,
-
within me, assurance that God says that it.
-
Can be done.
-
And now I just seem to carry out faithfully for
-
the nine months to see that breakthrough. And true enough,
-
our first scan was horrible, but the second scan, God
-
just started to move. I actually remember we went for
-
a second scan very nervous, very nervous. And we went
-
there and and you know, the person said that, oh,
-
you know, I was I was praying at home. But
-
we see the same doctor again. We'll see no doctor,
-
doctor Mattias again. And and by the grace of God,
-
we didn't see him. It was another doctor. And a
-
person said, oh, hello, we will hear a situation. And
-
you said that you didn't go for any further test.
-
That's fine. There's other ways we can find out whether
-
your child is healthy or not. And they began to
-
explain to me, you know, one of the key indicators
-
of genetic disorder is a heart condition. So we want
-
to look at your child's heart. We're gonna put under
-
a special scan that can now look even into the heart,
-
and we want to look into it.
-
And then so they were scanning, scanning, scanning, skinny, skinny,
-
skinn skin skin.
-
Scanning, and then the person said that, oh interesting, I'll
-
be like, oh, oh no, is everything okay? So yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
it looked like there was a hot issue, but it
-
looked like the hole. It looked like there was a whole,
-
but it looked like the whole closed itself. And we
-
were like, oh, really yeah, it looked like it closed itself,
-
and the heart sounds really healthy. And uh, you know,
-
we just checked the fluid at the back of your neck.
-
It's gone completely gone.
-
And so we were like, oh wow, praise God, you know.
-
So it went back out there. But the journey continues.
-
We gotta still keep closing it. We gonna still have
-
to carry it, and we still got to cast it out.
-
But God knows when to give us encouragement to make
-
the journey bearable. And then next scan, I'm like, God,
-
please give us the kind doctor, you know, like we
-
met the previous scan, so scan number three or this
-
this scan, man.
-
Praise God.
-
Not only did we not get the first doctor, we
-
got a Chinese doctor, you know. So I'm so sorry,
-
you know, just you know, uh, the Lord knows how
-
to speak to, you know, and no young lady who
-
is Chinese and say, oh, yeah, how about your situation,
-
but let me just do some scans, okay. And then
-
this time, this this young doctor. She's young, she just
-
looks young, but she's probably very qualified, you know.
-
Uh.
-
And and so she was saying that, oh, my previous
-
colleague with her heart, I'm gonna look at other things,
-
because you know how the limbs and how the fingers,
-
and how the bone and how the bone that stick.
-
All these things can also tell us without having invasive tests,
-
how your child's gonna come out, because if there is
-
a genetic disorder, it will start forming by now. And
-
so the person was scanning, scanning, scanning, scanning, you know,
-
and then after doing very thorough scan and go like, oh,
-
I'm so sorry if I certainly will go quiet. I
-
just need to concentrate to scan. But you know, okay,
-
scancingcan it looks like everything is good? But is it
-
okay if I do another scan? Because I'm actually left handed,
-
but a lot of the machinery is right handed, so
-
I had to train myself to use the machine on
-
the right hand side. But if you don't mind, I
-
would like to take another left handed machine, just to
-
be thorough. You see, when God gives you encouragement, he
-
gives you real encouragement. He gives you doctors to really care.
-
He gives the doctors who are both left handed and
-
right handed, who teach themselves how to be right handed,
-
you know, like the excellence. You know what I'm saying about,
-
you know, And top of that, Chinese and and I'm
-
just okay, just okay. And so came in and scanned
-
and go like and and then this this doctor go like,
-
you know, I still remember her name, you know. So
-
if you uh, Denise, Denise Chance, so, any anyone here,
-
you know, you want to name your child Denise.
-
So the and then the person said that.
-
By the looks of it, of course we can't rule
-
out everything. And I know it can be very scary
-
coming in for scans like this, but I want you
-
to know that it's safe to treat this like a
-
normal pregnancy. Uh and and and and then we were
-
left there thinking, oh wow, praise God, No, God, you
-
really come true. He scanned is getting progressively better, but
-
we're still gotta close it. We're still gonna carry it,
-
We're still gonna cast it. And God also knows this.
-
God knows when to give us encouragement. But God also
-
knows when to lead us back to him again, because
-
how we know that sometimes the encouragement can become like
-
an idol.
-
And then and and and.
-
Instead of trusting God and what he has said and
-
that he is the one that will finish the world,
-
we end up, you know, taking the signs and circumstances,
-
the blessings in our lives, and we use it as
-
a crutch. And so God has a real sense of
-
humor because by the fourth scan, guess who we saw again,
-
doctor Matthaeas. And uh but you know, and you know
-
what's the worst thing, he does not even remember us,
-
Like he's the person who turned our life upside down.
-
I remember him, but he doesn't remember us. And he's
-
just treated okay whatever, and uh, fifth scan, Doctor Matthaeus again.
-
Sixth scan, Dr Matteus again. Now we're able to look
-
bad and laugh. Actually it's a real black I can
-
say number six scan because do you know that in
-
the UK because public health service, you know, is free.
-
So if your baby is healthy and all that, do
-
you know that you only get two scans. You get
-
one scan, the first scan, and then you get one
-
more scan like two months before your baby arrives.
-
And that's it.
-
I know some of you are thinking or manation, not
-
so bad exactly. But you see, because we did not
-
go for additional you know, screening and all that, they
-
had to put us into a specialty unit. And by
-
the grace of God, true the specialty unit we had
-
to come in for more scans. So in a way,
-
you know, God causes all things to work out for
-
the good. And one last testimony and now close again,
-
you know, we gotta close it, we gotta carry it,
-
BA cast it.
-
And we were at.
-
The almost finishing line. I just remember the day where
-
James was gonna come. In fact, he came early. He
-
was supposed to come. He came I think ten days earlier.
-
Uh and but but it was all good, and so
-
we were waiting to get into the delivery room and
-
eventually we did. Uh And long story short, you know,
-
we were there. Kat had just got an epidural in,
-
you know, which is like pain relief for her. And
-
we were told by the by the nurse to say, okay,
-
everybod is in. Maybe in the next thirty minutes to
-
forty minutes a wee can start pushing.
-
Right. So I was like, okay, great.
-
I just sat down, just taking up my phone just
-
about the update family. As I was about to send
-
out a report an update. Suddenly the nurse noticed something
-
and then the nurses go, I just pressed the button,
-
but don't be alarm. If anyone who's free will probably
-
just come in right now. But she's sitting in such
-
a calm way where I was so tired of whatever.
-
What I didn't realize was that suddenly the whole room
-
from just one as I sat down to set out
-
a text before I send the text out, our whole
-
delivery room was cuddenly filled with doctors and nurses and everything.
-
Because what had happened was this, this the very good
-
midwife had noticed that the baby's heart rate certainly dropped
-
to very dangerous levels, critical levels, and press a button
-
and instantly the whole room came in. And so this
-
is what I mean by overcoming fear is not a
-
one time thing. It's an ongoing thing. And you think
-
closing it once it's enough, No, you're gonna close it
-
again and again. You're gonna carry it to the cross
-
again and again, and it's gonna cast it.
-
Out again and again.
-
And so right there, and then they suddenly come in
-
and then they studded like, you know, going like, oh,
-
baby's heart were going down.
-
What do we need to do? We need Russia in.
-
For emergency Saian right now. We're gotta rush in emergency Sysaian, right,
-
And so they immediately make a decision. You know when
-
I was there. I was going, like, what's happening? I
-
was really pushed aside. You know right now you don't matter,
-
and and and so they they did all that, and
-
then they go, okay, we're gonna go right now, and
-
they just chuck me some scraps to go, Okay, you
-
gotta change and because we're gonna go into the opportunity
-
to operating theater.
-
And they allowed me to come along. And I was
-
in the.
-
Toilet Suddenly I thought, God, each scam was getting better.
-
I thought you said it was done. What's happening right now?
-
What's happening right now?
-
You know?
-
Uh? And and right there, and then I had to
-
say I heard God says.
-
That day what they teach you? Why I teach you?
-
And go like you taught me to other voices. Yeah,
-
I know that room had a lot of doctors suddenly rushed.
-
But you're gonna drop out all their voices. You're gonna
-
listen to me. I say, I will take care of you.
-
I say I will hear your son. Trust me. Now
-
you're gonna carry it all the way. And then you gotta,
-
you know, begin to still cast out all these thoughts
-
and so as I stumbled my way and out of
-
the toilet. I was so nervous I couldn't tie my
-
shoelace to stumble in. And they were rushing Cat in.
-
Uh.
-
By then, you know, Cat was looking really pale. Uh
-
and you know they had to emergency operate on her.
-
Uh.
-
And later they found out that uh, there was a
-
chord umbilical chord around the baby's neck and and and
-
that probably.
-
Caused his hard way to drop.
-
Because every time there's contraction, you know it Titans and
-
all that and long story show heard, you know, uh,
-
the the you know, I just remember when you rush in.
-
I was like going like, God help me, God help me.
-
You know, God, I believe that. I believe.
-
I believe that you're still with me.
-
And as I stumble my way into the operating dator
-
as they're about to slice her open, suddenly realized, oh
-
babies went up again. And then they went like, oh, okay,
-
but I guess since we're all here, you might as
-
well cut her open.
-
And I kid you not okay.
-
Suddenly, you know, sometimes you think that faith doesn't matter,
-
but faith matters. I sincerely believe that having that that moment,
-
that last, that one last surrender to God really changed
-
the embassy because I entered the operating dator suddenly going, oh,
-
how rebect to normal. We're about to slice her open? Ready,
-
but okay, but I guess we'll cut her open anyway.
-
But before that, and I kid you not before that,
-
let's do a round of introduction. And so they started
-
they started going I think they started going around, like
-
going like, uh, so and so, surgeont okay, so and so,
-
uh you know, technician so so. And then they even
-
have time to come to me, and I go like,
-
daddy like that was I'm like, I'm the daddy, I'm there,
-
I'm there, like and then they got okay, now that
-
we know everyone here, okay, okay, then they have time
-
to breathe because now it's no longer emergency procedure.
-
Now it's like a standard procedure. But they have time. Okay.
-
Uh in all female and nine, we're gonna cut of open. Okay,
-
all right, ready, okay, let's go. And then before I
-
knew it, I heard the loudest baby cry ever and
-
and an outcome and and baby was crying. I was crying.
-
This time, I had no more pride. I was crying
-
and snot was running down my nose and could see
-
the baby and again it was you know, I think
-
it just all emotions came out because it's not just
-
it's it's God saying that. Look I said I'll do it.
-
I've done it, and I want us to know that
-
whatever that you're going through right now, it will pass.
-
Whatever fear you're going through right now. I really believe
-
that this message is for someone here, and I don't
-
know why, but as us driving here, the Lord begins
-
to say, drop this word, and maybe it's for someone here.
-
It says that your diagnosis is not your destiny. Your
-
diagnosis is not your destiny. And maybe some of us
-
here you've been given a bad diagnosis and it's scary,
-
but the Lord wants you to still live out courageously.
-
See, as Christians were.
-
Not people who never had bad things happen to us,
-
But as Christians, we are people who when bad things
-
do happen to us, we continue to put our faith
-
in God. We continue to show love, we can show grace,
-
we can to live courageously, and we continue to to
-
let God dictate our emotions and not let our situations
-
dictate all emotions. And so as we close, I just
-
want to take this opportunity to to just pray.
-
Is that okay?
-
And I will pray for two groups of people. I
-
don't pray for someone some people here that you've been
-
going through a lot of fear. It could be a
-
health thing, it could be a job thing, whatever it is,
-
but fear, fear, fear, fear, fear, And then I just
-
says that God wants to set you free. So if
-
that's you, and I know sometimes what we're going through
-
can be very private, very sensitive. I'm not even going
-
to ask you to stand up, but I want you.
-
I want to ask you to tune in. I want
-
to ask you to open up your heart, and I
-
want to pray for you if you're going through something
-
scary or if you just somehow allowed fear to conquer
-
your life. Some of us here, we don't need to
-
go through stuff to just feel scared all the time.
-
Some of us it could be scared of flying. Some
-
of us could be scared of dying. Some of us
-
could be scared of losing loved ones. You know, there's
-
always something in the back of our minds, fear, fear, fear, fear. Friends,
-
that's not how God wants you to live. Don't live
-
under the bondage of fear. God wants you to overcome.
-
But the Lord you snow in our midst right now,
-
that could be brother and sister. Hear that, Lord, that
-
they are so for the longest one. Lord, they have
-
become a slave to fear. Would you set them free
-
this morning? Would you set them free this morning? God,
-
I just pray, Lord, in the name of Jesus, you
-
set them free. Lord, if it's just too much information
-
that they are consuming right now, in the name of Jesus,
-
I pray that.
-
You will give them the discipline to stop it.
-
You give them the discipline to say no to the
-
unhelpful voices in their heads in the their lives.
-
And Lord, you will help them to turn to you,
-
just like.
-
How Lord Jesus, you chase out the people who are
-
weeping and wailing and causing a commotion.
-
Lord, I pray that you would also.
-
Chase out some negative influences in their lives and fill
-
them Lord with the right people, the right close community.
-
Fill them, Lord with a close circle of friends that
-
will speak life into their situation. Who who what they're
-
going through? With confidence, Lord, I pray also, Lord, that
-
you will give them the grace to carry it to
-
the cross and to realize that we serve for God,
-
who welcomes our problems, who welcomes our fears. And your
-
word says Lord, that we are to come to you
-
with all that weighs us down. Have you been weighed
-
down by fear? Friends, bring it to Jesus, Bring it
-
to Jesus, And Lord, I pray help us to cast
-
it out. Lord, you have given us all authority on
-
heaven and on earth. And Lord, sometimes the demons that
-
we need to cast out are not the ones possessing people,
-
but are the ones possessing our hearts.
-
The spirit of fear, the spirit of timidity, the spirit.
-
Of paranoia and anxiety, the spirit of the worst case scenario,
-
the spirit of the worst imagination. Lord, right now, in
-
the name of Jesus, I pray that you will help
-
us to cast them out, one by one, cast them
-
out again and again. I don't know who this is for,
-
but there's someone here.
-
You know.
-
You have a fear of flying, and it's made. It's
-
not just fear of flying, but it's every time you
-
have to travel, whether for work or for leisure, it
-
makes you lose sleep. It eats into other areas in
-
your lives. That's what fear does. It spreads and it
-
eats into other areas of our lives. I just want
-
God to set you free right now, name of Jesus.
-
You just set that person free right now, in the
-
name of Jesus Love. Would you set everyone here who
-
has been under the bondage of faith of far too long,
-
which is set them free right now in the name
-
of Jesus. Secondly, I don't want you to know what
-
we serve for God who hears, and we serve for
-
God who heals, And so maybe for some of us here,
-
like me, not too long ago, you receive a bad diagnosis.
-
It could be.
-
A personal health thing, or it could be a health
-
situation of a loved one, and the experts, the medical experts,
-
are saying you need to do this, you need to
-
do that, you need to do that, and sometimes we
-
don't even know what we need to do. I want
-
you to know that that bad diagnosis is not your destiny,
-
and in between an only God who your destiny, and
-
so friends, I want you to surrender that bad diagnosis
-
to God. Whether you need to do something like why
-
I did, which is to just, you know, squeeze that
-
medical report into your bible or need to write a
-
letter to God and put it in your bible. But friends,
-
I want you to know again, let this be a
-
word of encouragion for you. That bad medical report, that
-
bad diagnosis.
-
It's not the future. Only God holds the future. Would
-
you surrender to him?
-
If that's you and you are in need of God's
-
intervention in your life or in the life of your loved.
-
One, I want to pray for you. God.
-
You see every soul represented here, and Lord, you know Lord,
-
what they're going through, what they have been going through. Lord,
-
you know what the doctors have spoken. And Lord, sometimes
-
those words can be so sharp and make us feel
-
so hopeless. But Lord, I want you to know, Lord
-
that our faith is found in you. Forgive us, Lord
-
if we have allowed other voices to take your place
-
in our lives. But right now, Lord, we will come
-
back to that place again and say, Lord, take over, Lord,
-
take control over my life and my future. We surrender, Lord,
-
whatever medical report, we surrender whatever I don't know, whatever
-
it is, Lord, we surrender it in the name of Jesus.
-
Some of us here. You could even be struggling with
-
mental health. Some of us here, you could even be
-
struggling in your business, could be struggling.
-
Even your marriage could be struggling. You know, your relationship,
-
your children could be strained.
-
I want you to know that God is still in
-
control and he is the one who is the expert
-
at turning things around. And in the name of Jesus, Lord,
-
would you turn every situation around? Lord, would you cause
-
it to be miracles upon miracles?
-
In this room, Lord Lord.
-
We prophesy healing over every bad medical report. We prophesy healing, Lord, healing,
-
supernatural healing that only you can do, Lord, healing that
-
will leave the doctor's astounded.
-
Lord, healing in the name of Jesus, healing and provision.
-
In the name of Jesus Lord.
-
Again, I declare, our diagnosis is not our destiny.
-
Our destiny is found in the Lord, Jesus Christ, Jesus.
-
They me pray, Amen, Amen, Amen. Why don't we all
-
stand and let's just watch it.
-
