You're listening to a message to go from acts church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
And so today this message is entitled Mission Possible, Mission Possible.
-
We're so used to hearing about impossible missions, right, but
-
I want to tell you that the impossible missions are
-
only in the movies. So that's good. That means in
-
reality we can have mission possible. Right. So we're reading
-
from College Collosuons book or Collosions. Okay, let me just
-
get rid of this. It's getting in the way. Okay.
-
So we're reading from Collosus, chapter one, and let's read
-
verse one and to first Paul and an apostle of
-
Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy a
-
brother because both of them two were together. So he's
-
writing to the church, to the saints and faithful brethren
-
in Christ who are in coloss Grace to you and
-
peace from God, our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
So Paul was greeting the church, and he was greeting
-
the church in Coloss. And I did a little bit
-
of reading about this, and you know what was Paul's
-
relationship with the church in coloss Do you know that
-
this was not one of the churches he started, and
-
Paul started many churches, but this was not one of
-
the churches that Paul had started. So why would Paul
-
be very interested in this church? Why would we be
-
interested in the church the world at large? For the
-
world at large. In the seventies, I remember, I just
-
became a Christian, and in the seventies one of the
-
biggest things that the churches were praying for was for
-
the people in the churches in Russia. You see, at
-
that time, in the seventies, if you were a Christian,
-
the Russian government would come, they would take you away
-
and they would torture you. They would torture you, they
-
would beat you up, they would rape your children and
-
your wife in front of you. They would throw you
-
into prison. They did all these kinds of things. This
-
was the seventies, sixties, the seventies, because under the Communist doctrine,
-
people were nothing more than matter. The chair is matter,
-
this pulpit is matter. You are matter. So they had
-
absolutely no affinity and love for people. You know, Stalin
-
was a wicked man. You know what he would do.
-
He would take a chicken and while the chicken was alive,
-
he'd pull all its feathers out, and the chicken would
-
be screaming and screaming, you know, all over the place.
-
Then he would throw a little bit of food and
-
the chicken would go and eat the food. And then
-
he would say, you see people like that. You can
-
torture them, you can treat them badly, just give them
-
a little bit of food and they'll be all right.
-
That was Stalin. That was communists, and the churches around
-
the world would be praying for these people in Russia.
-
They would be getting down and he isn't you know.
-
That was one of the things that if you were
-
in a church at that time, you would always be
-
praying for these people in this land, be praying and say,
-
God do something, God do something, God do something. But
-
God did something. He broke Russia up because Christians were praying.
-
He broke that land up. It completely splintered Russia, and
-
then those who professed Christ could now start professing Christ openly.
-
I believe this was in the mid to late eighties.
-
Fast forward to today, the Christians in that land have
-
forgotten to pray for their own country, and Christians in
-
other lands have forgotten about this group. Great work that
-
God did in relieving his people of the evil of communism.
-
You know what's happening. There is a revival not of
-
good things, but there's a revival of Russian hegemony, Russian aggression.
-
Russia wants to start taking back the lens that it
-
gave up. If you and I do not pray for
-
the other churches, how do we expect God to see?
-
How do we expect God to move? We're not meant
-
to live for ourselves. You know, there's okay, let's be honest,
-
how much fun there is living for yourself? It's fine,
-
right doing things for yourself. You're hungry, You're gonna eat right,
-
You're like ice cream, You're gonna leave ice cream. You
-
want to sleep, you go to sleep. But you want
-
to know something, After a while, these things will not
-
satisfy you. And then when you cannot satisfy yourself, what
-
do you have left? Nothing? Well, you know, talking about missions.
-
So it was not one of those things that I
-
usually wanted to talk about because I felt, you know,
-
I hadn't really gone on missions until just last week.
-
The Lord corrected my thoughts. So I said, Lord, you know,
-
I've never been on missions before. So you remember what
-
I shared with you from Corinthians Chapter two, No Corinthians one,
-
Corinthians one, where Paul say I came. And what did
-
I say? Paul came because he went. You see, if
-
Paul stayed in his bed, he would not have gone.
-
If he did not go, he would not have, you know,
-
interacted with the church. Great things would not have happened.
-
So the thing is this, if you stay where you are,
-
nothing much happens. So the Lord reminded me, didn't you
-
go and study in Singapore? Yeah? And what did you
-
do when you were there? Oh? I shared the word
-
of God. Every opportunity I had, I would be telling
-
people about this Jesus who is bringing relief to people
-
through deliverance. I remember sharing in this church, sharing here
-
that when I went to Singapore after going to school,
-
I'd come back at seven o'clock, go and have my
-
dinner and wash my clothes, do my homework, and then
-
I'll pop into church. Because I stayed in the church hostel,
-
so the church was by the side. I'll pop into
-
church and you know what I'll do till about three
-
four in the morning, I'll be praying together with the
-
pastor for deliverance cases people who were pressed by demons,
-
people who were possessed by demons, and we will be
-
praying and praying and praying, and I saw great miracles
-
take place. And then I'd go back, have about two
-
hours sleep, get up, go to go to school. And
-
when I went to school, besides actually studying when I'm
-
in class, one hundred percent attention on my schoolwork, when
-
it was break time or after school, I would be
-
sharing with them about what Jesus did and how Jesus
-
delivered people from the oppression of the devil, and how,
-
you know, great things that had happened. You know, I
-
remember telling you. One of the cases was, we were
-
praying for this guy, all right, and while we were praying,
-
three sin says or three of these priests came up
-
to the church. They were they're gonna come in, and
-
you know, they're gonna come in and disrupt everything, because
-
who are we to pray for one of their own.
-
Let me tell you the three of them did. I
-
was there with my own eyes. I'm seeing this right.
-
They took one step and before their foot landed in
-
the church gate, they all fainted. After a few minutes,
-
they got up, and you know what they did they
-
ran away. See, you cannot come against the power of
-
God and not see him work and not see people delivered.
-
And this is amazing. Who was I was a nobody.
-
What did I know. I only knew Jesus saved me.
-
I had no theology except if you know Jesus, he
-
can do something for you. That's all I needed. And
-
there I was helping with the pastor praying. Of course,
-
a lot of it is the anointing of the pastor.
-
I was learning from him. But I remember telling you
-
one testimony where the demon would not come out. The
-
demon would not leave this person, and despite all the praying,
-
just would not happen. The pass I said, go back,
-
sleep and come in tell us what the Lord reveals
-
to you. I went back, I went to sleep. I
-
had a dream, and in the dream, I'm actually on
-
the fourth floor of the hostel. So in the dream,
-
I had watched my uniforms and I hung it out
-
to dry on the balcony, not on the outside of
-
the inside the balcony. And the second uniform my my
-
uniform that my trousers had fallen to the ground on
-
fallen all the way. So in the dream, I'm thinking
-
to myself. This is a little bit strange. If something
-
has got to fall, why not the thing closest to
-
the balcony edge, why the second one. So anyway, in
-
the morning, before I left, I spoke to I had
-
a strange dream, and in this dream, this is what happened.
-
Then I went to school, I came back and my
-
you know, did my usual stuff. Eight nine o'clock, went
-
back to the church, and then the pastor said, Terrence,
-
let me tell you about your dream. We were led
-
by the spirit to go to this guy's house, and
-
we went to his house. We were, you know, searching
-
through his cupboard, and the second uniform fell to the ground.
-
When we picked up the second uniform, we found in
-
it a talisman, a charm. And when we removed that
-
charm and destroyed it in the fire, the demon came out.
-
Who was I and nobody? But you see, I went
-
and the Lord used me. Guys, missions is like that.
-
You know, when you go you're literally going out of
-
your comfort zone. You know why, because the moment you
-
get out of your bed and you go to a
-
place that's not your old you need the power of
-
God to be working through you. And then you'll see
-
that God is doing some really great things for you.
-
Because you're not comfortable. And when you're not comfortable, who
-
are you relying on? You're relying on him. You're relying
-
on him. So the Lord ministered and say, hey guys,
-
He said, Terrence, you have been to missions before. Your
-
missions was in Singapore for that two and a half
-
years you were there. How many people you witnessed to,
-
how many people you shared with? I told you about
-
the other guy who who got saved when his yacht
-
he was about to die, and then he remembered what
-
I told him or wrote on him, wrote in a
-
scripture says run to trouble, call the name of Jesus.
-
He'll come and help you. And when he was on
-
his yacht, here's a very rich guy, he said he
-
was about to die, and he remembered what I wrote
-
in the autograph book. He called on Jesus name, and
-
Jesus came on the water and saved him. He came
-
to shore, he gave up all his his wealth and
-
he became full time. So he was in Kiel. He
-
was in Call. A couple of weeks ago. I ran
-
and he supposed to say, hey, you're here, and call
-
let me know. I'll come and see you. He says, oh,
-
I didn't know's Tamantun far from you. I say, it's
-
not a problem. Say anyway, I'm going back tomorrow, but
-
i'll come again. When I come again, we'll meet up.
-
Then he sends me a picture of him ministering to
-
a church in kl Okay. He sends me this picture.
-
He said, I was invited by Pastor Jerry. I don't know.
-
I didn't know the name Jerry. But when I saw
-
the picture, I told him, you see this guy, that
-
pastor you're speaking. This pastor was brought to the Lord
-
by the guy I brought to the Lord. He's my schoolmate.
-
He's two years my junior. He was a very good
-
friend my late brother, and we were part of the
-
same beginning in church. He said, that's interesting, he said, well,
-
the Lord the Lord brought someone. I mean, it's amazing.
-
They're meeting people we know and connected with the other
-
day the other. So last year I said to myself,
-
I think it's time to go for missions. I thought
-
it was the first time I'm going for missions. So
-
I thought, pasta, okay, I'm going to go to one
-
of these places that's not easy. If you're going to
-
go for the first time for me, don't take the
-
easy one, you know, go for what you think it's difficult,
-
and then you can see I've done it, okay, rather
-
than go for an easy one and then work your
-
way up to something more. So I say, Pastor, I
-
know myself. I'm a person that likes creature comforts. So
-
I tell you what, let me go to one of
-
the Indonesian one of the Indonesian missions. All right, So
-
I said, okay, I'll go for lake Toba. Okay, I'll
-
go for lake Toba. So Pastor is very kind. By
-
the way, they send you your love. Pasta Kennon passes heenra.
-
She was very kind, she says, Terence, you're a little
-
bit advanced. Okay, so I'll help you. I don't think
-
we'll send you to Lake Tobar, never mind, will send
-
you to Bercassi. The reason why I hear is lake Toba.
-
You gotta go, and you get into the car and
-
then you gotta drive another four hours on muddy roads
-
and your brain gets rocked about and you get scramblings
-
in your head. You know that kind of thing. So
-
so I went to Bacassia. So this is supposed to
-
be the easy trip, right BECAUSI try going to a
-
place where you have to sit on the floor and
-
you're in your sixties and you're not quite used to
-
sitting on the floor. And I tell you, my knees
-
were singing songs. I mean every five seconds. I didn't
-
know whether it stretched them or fall dam or sit
-
on my knees because every I was like a FIDGETI
-
you know, I was so because I was all the time,
-
you know, getting up, stretching the leg, putting it this ways. Okay,
-
not ma, I'm not used to it. I'll tell you why.
-
What I discovered when I went to Bacasi was a
-
different kind of lifestyle that I had not seen. The
-
people's house, the whole house. That means the house, the room,
-
the kitchen, the toilet. Maybe maybe this is it. And
-
then it's divided into two. So you know, if I
-
would sit on this wall and stretch out my legs,
-
and if somebody else sits on the other wall and
-
stretch out the legs, our legs would cross. That was
-
the reason why I was finding it so difficult to
-
move because if I put my legs out somebody will
-
trip or I put my legs in I cannot. You know,
-
it was it was difficult. They had no furniture. The
-
bid was the mattresses against the wall, and in the
-
nighttime they will just pull the mattress down to sleep
-
and they ate their food on the floor. Their toilet
-
was you know, it was a tough life. And these
-
are the kind of people that we ministered to. Now,
-
I'm telling you, one of the fears for me to
-
go to a place like this is can I speak
-
the language? Until that time, I had not practiced my
-
Bahasa in easily thirty years or many many years. Why
-
would I? Why would I? I'm in the corporate line
-
where we don't really speak Bassa. So how will God
-
do a miracle in your life if you do not
-
get out of your usual way of living. So I
-
went and I talked to myself, oh, when I go
-
on this, And I went with Elder Rows, and my
-
elder rose her Basa Basa Indonesia. Basa is next level. Okay,
-
if you need to go somewhere and have somebody speak,
-
you have to have Elder Rows with you. So anyway,
-
I went with her, and then I said to myself.
-
I think what I'll do is I will keep quiet.
-
I'll just go and pretty quietly. I'll keep quiet and
-
I let them take the lead because they experienced ones
-
I'm not, and someboe there they find it easy to
-
talk in basa. So we went to the first place
-
because there several things that we did. One of the
-
things that we did was house visitation. We go to
-
the house and be visiting and this person is telling
-
me his story. They're telling they're sharing with us the story,
-
and before I can catch myself, I start sharing with
-
him prophetically in basa. And I'm listening to myself and
-
I said, hmm, this sounds pretty smooth. It's not me,
-
you know, you can you know what's you? This is
-
the Holy Spirit using you to speak in a language
-
that you're not accustomed to, and it's so fluent. Then
-
you ask yourself, is it really gonna help somebody. We
-
went to one house and the person was there, two children.
-
The husband and wife were successful business people and the business,
-
because of the pandemic, went completely bankrupt. Now they owe
-
the bank a huge sum of money. And they said,
-
this is our last week in the house. We've been
-
asked to vacate. We have no place left to go.
-
So I shared with them the word of God. I
-
can't remember which scripture I shared with them, but the
-
Lord ministered and I was just sharing from scripture and
-
I'm telling and I'm listening to myself, this is really interesting.
-
And I'm sharing and sharing and telling them and left it.
-
One week later, Pastor Franz sends a mission, sends a
-
letter to us an email, and he says, you know
-
this couple that you prayed for, the bank came back
-
to them and gave them such a fantastic deal, never
-
heard of before. It was so good and so easy.
-
Their life is completely turning around. They did not lose
-
the house. They're doing very well. Now. How is this?
-
You see, you had to go. If I had stayed
-
where I was, maybe I would not have given that word.
-
Maybe somebody else might have. I don't know about what
-
if nobody else gave the word. We went to another house,
-
and all the houses the same, all very small. So
-
this guy was running a business. It was a motorcycle
-
repair business. Okay, what I'm about to tell you was shock.
-
You remember the size I told you the house, how
-
small it was? Okay, that means the house would be
-
like this chas line put these chairs together is and
-
that would be the house, everything in it, even his
-
repair shop. You know how much the owner wanted to
-
sell him that little plot. One hundred and fifty thousand ringed.
-
One hundred and fifty thousand ringed. You think it's a
-
nice area. You see a watermark. The watermark is up
-
to here. So I asked him, why is this watermark?
-
He says, well, when it rains. If you look out
-
the window, you see a big monsoon rain. That big
-
monsoon rain comes from the front and it turns the corner.
-
So when it rains, the water comes in with such
-
a force the house is flooded until that high every
-
time it rains. Yes, and it's green water coming in. Okay.
-
Then I asked him, don't the authorities do anything. Yes,
-
but the problem is the authorities keep the money for them,
-
So so we pray. You know what my prayer was.
-
I'm sorry that I'm mean. Okay. When I talked to
-
the Lord, I talked to the Lord the way the
-
Lord leads me. I said, Lord, solve this problem. Send
-
this drain water into the houses of the politicians who
-
have stolen the money. I do not know whether that
-
will happen or not, but I do know this God
-
is able, So I expect if ever I go there again,
-
and I suspect I will, something would have taken place. See,
-
you have to go. You know, have you seen people?
-
We got such nice ex kids, right you go there
-
to becassie. I saw all these kids, maybe from about
-
fifteen years old, eight to fifteen years old, all painted silver.
-
They call the silver people. You know what kind of silver?
-
Not not makeup silver? Okay, you know you go to
-
the hardware store that little tin or silver which you
-
pain your bicycle that was rusting. They pained themselves completely
-
with it. They completely covered. They call the silver kids
-
or silver children to gain money. So they walk around
-
and these kids are head to toe painted silver. You
-
know how toxic that is. This is shocking to me.
-
We went for we gave food to the poor. It's coked.
-
We packed it. One day, we went in the night,
-
one day we went in the morning. One hundred hundred
-
and twenty packets. You know how fast it took us
-
to clear it? Less than five minutes. Just go to
-
one place and there's so many poor people and we
-
were giving out. There is the cart people. Have you
-
heard of the cart people? The cart people have got
-
no place to live, no place to live. They live
-
in a cart. The cat is about one and a
-
half feet wide, about two and a half feet deep
-
and about three feet long. And then there's the piece
-
of wood over there. And the man pulls his wife
-
and his children in the cart. That's where they live,
-
and he walk. Have you seen something like this? I
-
couldn't believe. Now, this is where they live. And when
-
you go and you bring Christ to them, you bring
-
food to them, you see the smiles on their faces.
-
It's amazing. There's another place we went. The guy was
-
fishing from a huge drain river drain, horribly dirty water.
-
You know what he's fishing out of the river? Bandaraya?
-
You know it's Bandaraya. You know that fish that everybody
-
throws away in the ponds, the ugly fish. Yeah yeah, yeah,
-
but they don't eat it, Okay, you know what they do,
-
So they catch the fish, but twenty thirty forty fish.
-
Just catching the fish, they're cutting it open and squeezing
-
out the eggs. They sell the eggs. Oh my guys,
-
it's very important for us. To care for the church
-
and you. Pastor France is an amazing person. He goes it.
-
There's so many poor people on the street. They all
-
know him by name because he's ministering to them, he's
-
reaching out to them, he's sharing Jesus with them. Some
-
of them got no shoes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll see
-
you on Sunday. Sunday comes. You don't see them. You
-
need to go out there and share this Jesus who
-
has changed your life to them, because the only one
-
who can bring them out of that situation is Jesus Christ.
-
I must tell you about the children we went for
-
Christmas party. The Christmas party was in a room maybe
-
about six by six, maybe about thirty six or forty
-
forty square feet, twenty to thirty children in that one room.
-
When they sang those little kids, I was literally tearing outside.
-
I mean I was. I was because the presence of
-
the Lord was so strong. I didn't understand the song
-
that they were singing, but they were worshiping the Lord.
-
Kids small maybe up to year, all cramped up in
-
that little room. When they sang. It was just simply amazing.
-
And yeah, you got these poor people, they're so poor
-
but because we came, they gave us food, buns, drink.
-
I felt so bad because the buns and the drink
-
that they bought from us maybe one week's salary, but
-
they was so generous. Guys, That's what missions all about.
-
Inasmuch as you bringing Christ to them, They're touching your heart.
-
They're touching your heart, They're doing something to your spirit.
-
They're changing the way you think. Paul did not have
-
the kind of relationship with the church as he did
-
with the churches he started. But did that stop him? No?
-
It was Epaprass who started the church. So why would
-
Paul concern himself with the church that he has not started?
-
Why would you and I concern ourselves with the church
-
that we have not started. It's not about whether the
-
church belongs to us. We have started us, but the
-
church belongs to our father. And when we say no,
-
I'm not going to go, I'm not gonna do anything
-
with the church. You know what we are saying. We're
-
telling the lorder. I don't care for my brother and
-
my sister. You know, I praise the Lord. I really
-
thank God for the brotherhood that we have in Christianity.
-
My brothers come from Sudan. But when you come here,
-
you're still my brother. And I guarantee you if I
-
were to go to Sudan, you would welcome me the
-
same way. Why is that? Because there is something in
-
our heart that draws us together. And it's much more
-
than the color of our skin or the looks on
-
our face. It's who we are have in our hearts. Jesus, Jesus,
-
can we love enough to go? We give thanks is
-
what Paul says in burstory. We give thanks to God,
-
our Father, of our Lord, Jesus Christ, praying always for you, guys,
-
praying always. Why would he pray for someone he has
-
not even met. Why would you and I pray for
-
the Russian Church? Why would you and I pray for
-
the Christians in China? You know what's happening in China.
-
China is practicing the same principle that made a donkey talk.
-
You read scripture, and in scripture we have Balem, and
-
those days when you're the prophet, if you speak whatever
-
you speaker will be honored. So the king of the
-
Foreign Land tried to pay Balem money to speak against
-
the children of Israel, to prophesy against them. So eventually
-
Balem was making his way all right, and he sat
-
in his donkey, and then the donkey wouldn't move, and
-
then he's beating the donkey, and the donkey just wouldn't move,
-
And finally God opened the mouth of the donkey. I
-
want you to read that scripture very very carefully. In
-
that scripture, God says, or the word says, that God
-
opened the mouth of the donkey. The scripture does not
-
say God put the words in the mouth of the
-
donkey to speak. Do you know what that means to me?
-
At least, it means that animals can think. Animals have
-
the ability to reason. Because the donkey more or less
-
told bail them, what's the matter with you? Are you crazy?
-
Don't you see the guy down there with a big
-
so he can lop your head off? It was an angel,
-
by the way, can you mentione the donkey can see
-
an angel? And then the donkey sitting on the donkey couldn't.
-
And the donkey spoke to Bailim and said, I'm saving
-
your life. How many we got pets at home? One?
-
Only one? Okay? Two? Anyone with dogs? Do your dogs
-
know when they've done wrong they do right? Do your
-
dogs know how to ask you for food. It's true,
-
they can reason how many times have you tried to
-
eat something very very quietly so they don't know. And
-
then when you look there they are cragna. You know,
-
we cannot say the word ice scream. In my house.
-
I got two dogs who understand what it means. So
-
when we talk, we have to spell it out serious.
-
The moment we say the word, they're there and then
-
they look at you with the puppy, your guys, and
-
you'll give They can think and it's Tomina, But that's
-
not the message. The message is this. The message is this.
-
Bail them. Then told the king you want to get
-
that very easy, inter marry and affect them that way.
-
What is China doing? China found that it could not
-
stop Christianity because China, by the way, is now one
-
of the biggest torturers of Christians. Okay, the biggest people
-
who persecute Christians is China. So you know what they've
-
decided to do. You can't beat them. Change the word.
-
They are now rewriting the Bible in such a way
-
that it will diminish or make it of no power. Now,
-
when you do that and you disseminate it among the masses.
-
It becomes that much harder for real Christians to share
-
the word, because what would be the real word? Who
-
would know? I'm told in China they can do miracles
-
just from having one page of the Bible, just one page,
-
and they can run with it and their lives can
-
be so blessed. And here we are, we've got so
-
many versions the Bible, we don't even read it. Guys.
-
That's what missions does for you. You know, it opens
-
your heart, It opens your mind to see just how
-
much you can be a blessing to the ministry or
-
to the church at large, and how much of a
-
blessing they can be to you when we have missions emphasis.
-
Why are we doing this? We're doing this missions emphasis
-
is so that you and I can realize that we
-
have a bigger part to play. I can assure you
-
the jobs you and I have, the work that we have,
-
our daily life that we have, it's not for God,
-
if I may be honest, it's not for God. It's
-
for you. That one is for you. If you've got
-
to know why you got to work, thank Adam and
-
if yeah, when they were given everything, they wanted it
-
their own way. Now we have to work because of them.
-
I mean, that's the fact. So if you ask yourself,
-
the jobs that you do, the lives that you live,
-
the excesses and successes that you have in the commercial world,
-
they are yours, they are for you. But I can
-
assure you when you and I meet Jesus, he will
-
make no mention of our commercial success. He will make
-
no mention of how much we have in the bank,
-
He will make no mention of our properties. All that
-
was for us. He will ask us, what did you
-
do for me? As our hair becomes less like mine,
-
as it changes color, I did have black hair once.
-
It tells me. You know, the candle burns on both ends.
-
You know what I say. When the candle burns on
-
and the Bible says that Jesus Christ will come again.
-
With each day that passes, his day of his return
-
comes sooner. So for me, the candle burns on board,
-
and so it was the other end. The other end
-
is as I lose more hair and as it becomes
-
more gray, I will my time of meeting the Lord
-
is also coming sooner. So there's two ways to meet
-
the Lord. One he comes while you're alive, and one
-
you meet him when you're not. So, I've already lived
-
sixty four years of life, so you can quite tell
-
that I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I
-
better do something for the Lord factor the message. I
-
better do something. The Lord said, did you go for missions?
-
I said, Lord, you saw me struggle on the floor,
-
I mean I couldn't sit straight. Then say yeah, yeah, okay, okay,
-
that's fine. You try. Hey, you know, the Lord is
-
only interested. We try, but you see, we don't try it.
-
We are like the ones who take the talent and
-
push it and bury it. Today's message a little bit
-
different I usually, you know, sort of like teach. Today
-
is like preach. Okay, I hope you don't mind. You
-
and I we've got to be ready for the Lord,
-
and he is coming again soon, you know. I read somewhere.
-
I read somewhere scripture says that Jesus will return, and
-
he will return from the Mount of Olives through the
-
east Gate in Jerusalem. How many we have heard that
-
prophecy before that? I mean that that's actually in scripture. Now,
-
if you go to Jerusalem, the east gate is shut
-
because during the early you know, dark ages, or just
-
before or after that what the Ottomans did was they
-
seal the gate. Because they know the prophecy, they seal
-
the gate. And then when they seal the east gate,
-
they started bearing dead bodies outside the gate because according
-
to them, no holy man would cross over dead. They
-
forgot one thing. What did the Bible say about Jesus.
-
He defeated death, he died, and he rose again. If
-
there's anyone here who does not know Jesus Christ as
-
Lord and say, well, this is what Jesus did for
-
you so you don't have to go through it. He
-
paid the penalty in the price for you. And here
-
we are. When we're given the opportunity to receive Jesus
-
Christ as Lord and savior, many of us let it
-
pass by. Today when you're given that opportunity, don't let
-
it pass by, because Jesus did come for you to
-
save you. He did so that's why it doesn't matter
-
whether they are graves there or not, because Jesus overcame
-
the grave. Scientists have discovered something slowly but surely, the
-
gate on the east side, the east gate is beginning
-
to open. Scientifically, now they're studying why the gate is opening,
-
but the gate is starting to open. Jesus Christ is
-
going to come again soon. Man. Whether you believe it
-
or not makes no difference. You know, there are many
-
people who say, I don't believe in Jesus. It doesn't matter,
-
you know. To me, it doesn't matter. You know why,
-
because the Bible says, one day every nie shall bow
-
and every time confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Do
-
it as a friend, or do it on the other side.
-
But whichever side you're on, you still have to bow
-
your need in Jesus. Paul really was interested in anyone
-
who confessed Jesus. It says, yeah, we heard of your
-
faith in Christ, Jesus, and of your love for all
-
the saints. It was very important for Paul that the
-
church loved Christians, not just where they were, but everywhere else.
-
When one of your brothers is hurting in another country,
-
he's told your brother, what can you do? Scripture says
-
that number one Paul gave thanks, and he was always praying.
-
In this particular case, he went. Then, it says, because
-
of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven,
-
which you have heard before, the word of the truth
-
of the Gospel. It's very simple. Can we thank God
-
for somebody else. This pastor whom I used to study
-
with or used to pray with in Singapore, he always
-
tell us this funny prayer, Lord, bless me my wife,
-
my two children, us four and no more. Guys. Let's
-
not pray like that. You know. What he was basically
-
saying is pray prayer. It's got to be more than
-
just for you. It's got me for somebody else. Could
-
we pray for a people we don't know? Would we
-
would we get excited about somebody else that's not us?
-
Can we get excited about somebody else that's not us?
-
You know? I went to Pakistan and I heard that
-
there was a big church in Pakistan, though I had
-
not seen it. And on the table was this magazine.
-
You know, like those days in Malaysia we had the
-
Asia magazine comes with a Sunday newspapers, a small little
-
magazine that would calm and there will be stuff. Now,
-
of course the newspapers are dying, right. The The Star
-
used to be this stick on a Sunday. Now it's
-
become turn two pages is finished. Okay, you all are
-
too young. Okay, don't know, you don't know. You all
-
are too young, those of us who are older will know,
-
and unfortunately there's no one here old enough to really know.
-
But so I saw this magazine and in this magazine
-
was showing a Christian, a Pakistani pastor, and he was
-
preaching to a congregation of about forty thousand people. I
-
got so excited, Wow, there's such a church here. Then
-
I found in a magazine that Pakistan is a Christian channel. Wow,
-
a Christian channel. So the moment I saw that, I
-
went to the TV flick click and on it came amazing.
-
I got it chance to see forty thousand people. Why.
-
They have no place to build, so what they do
-
is to sit on the ground and they hear the
-
word of God. You know who that Pakistani pastor was?
-
You know Edison? Edison who was in Acts, Edison who
-
acted as Jesus in the play a few years ago.
-
That Edison, that is his uncle, his father's brother. Is
-
that pastor of that forty thousand church. Immediately after that time,
-
this was one week or so after I saw this
-
on TV and it was reported their persecution started. That's
-
why Edison had to leave. I think, if I'm not mistaken,
-
Edison was one of the TV producers of that that
-
particular event that I was watching on TV. Wow, just
-
one week after that persecution started there. But you know what,
-
it excited me that there was such a vibrant move
-
in a land I thought that was just not possible.
-
God deals in impossibilities. God works in impossibilities. How will
-
you and I see it if we don't go, When
-
we stay where we are, you know what we are doing.
-
We're only living in our possibilities, right, We're only living
-
in what we know will work, because if it didn't work,
-
we wouldn't be living in it. We are so used
-
to living in what works for us. You know when
-
your faith is needed. When you start living in a
-
place where you haven't seen it work yet, you need
-
to go. It strengthened your life. You won't soon forget it.
-
And then when your Christian hat starts to grow cold,
-
you will remember these people who got so excited with
-
so little, who did so much with so little, who
-
achieved so great things with whatever they had. I told
-
you I did not get saved in a church like this.
-
I got saved in a church there was a hat
-
in a jungle because of the worship of poor people
-
who maybe earned thirty ring it a month, twenty ringit
-
a month subsistence living. But when they worshiped the Lord,
-
the spirit of the Lord came now with such great
-
power that my unbelief could not stand. And I gave
-
my life to Christ. Even before I was offered the opportunity,
-
I was never told, those of you that want to
-
accept the Lord raising hand, I wasn't told that the
-
Lord just spoke to my terance. You're not a Christian,
-
accept me now. And I did that. Guys, you know
-
the Lord can work through you in the same way. Oh,
-
I'm not a holy person. I'm not great. I'm just
-
a sinner. Hey, let me introduce you to all of us.
-
You know. One of the things that the Lord asks me,
-
I pray for the service today. I started my praying
-
at three thirteen in the morning. So I'm walking and
-
I could hear, you know, at three thirteen the morning,
-
some house, maybe six hundred and seven hundred meters away,
-
people are talking. You can hear, you know. So I'm
-
hearing the stocking and I'm walking. I'm hearing the stocking.
-
I cannot see. I just continue the walk and find me.
-
When I come around, I see a group of people.
-
I think they must be all relatives, they must have
-
been having a good night together and all that. Then
-
one of the men says, wow, very good. Now you
-
walk here every morning, so good to see you. I say,
-
what to do I have to lose with? Then he laughed.
-
I laugh, and I continued walking. But actually it's my
-
time with the Lord. I pray. I ask the Lord, Lord,
-
speak something that's going to help change people's life. Then
-
the Lord asked me a question, not what he asked me,
-
what's so great about your face? The Lord asked me
-
this question, what's so great about your face? Meaning that,
-
why do you think so highly of yourself that you
-
can get offended easily? Why do you think so highly
-
of yourself that you feel you need a certain thing
-
in order for me to work through you? Are you
-
that great? See? When you realize that there's nothing special
-
about you, there's I'm speaking reality. The Lord is speaking
-
to me. There's nothing special about you. You realize that
-
things happen only because God is real. Things happen because
-
God is the one using you. So when you're not
-
in the equation, you're not the reason God works. God
-
can work because if you're saying a God, you cannot
-
use me. You know what you're telling God? God, Only
-
when I'm great, then your power can work through me.
-
It's not like that. It's not like that. When you
-
are you, your ordinary use got nothing to sing a
-
shout about. The Lord can work through you because then
-
you and I both know who gets the glory, who
-
gets the glory Godness. So now you understand when the
-
question what's so great about your face? It simply means
-
it's a very positive statement. By the way, it simply
-
means because you're not great, I can work through you
-
because you are going to be the one who's giving
-
me all the glory. You're going to be the one
-
who is actually saying it's God. And as long as
-
God is getting the glory, he can continue to work.
-
It's a it's not a vicious cycle. It's a fantastic cycle.
-
And more and more and more and great things happen.
-
I don't know whether I told you the last time
-
that the Lord was working something very very special with
-
a very big organization. By the way, I won, if
-
you can remember that. But what I want you to
-
know is God was the one who won. He let me,
-
He showed me what to do, and it's amazing. This
-
is what God does for us. Guys, would we get
-
excited about someone else that's not us. I'm not going
-
to get to all the other verses, by the way,
-
so don't worry, okay, because you know I was actually
-
supposed to share until verse eleven. But I think you
-
must be panicking. Oh no, you know, and this is
-
only what verse verse five. If I have to go
-
at verse eleven, there will be another hour. No, I'm
-
not going to do that. Relax, it's going to be okay.
-
I just want you to know that there is liberation
-
in being normal. There's liberation in being ordinary. There is
-
liberation in being able to say I am not great.
-
You know why because you and I both know then
-
who is getting the glory. It's Jesus. And you know
-
when Jesus is getting the glory, great things will always happen,
-
Great things will always take place, because who's the one
-
who's great Jesus. It's not you, it's not me. So
-
when something happens, something happens great. You think I can
-
boast about it? No, I hope you'll don't take what
-
I these testimony is that I share that I'm boasting
-
about myself. No, you see, if it happens for me,
-
much more it will happen for you. That's what I'm
-
trying to tell you. Because I'm a nobody and God
-
has blessed What about you? God will do great things
-
through you if you will just give him an opportunity.
-
How do you give him an opportunity? It's not you,
-
it's not you, it's him. Would you go? Would you go?
-
Would you not stay? Would you be like Paul who
-
could say I came? Would you give God an opportunity
-
to show you how great he can use you in
-
another place? God's wisdom? Can we have the ministry team
-
to come up and I can hear the people say
-
praise the Lord. Last week I shared in some money
-
and in some monya. I said, you know, God is
-
able to do great things to you and through you,
-
if you will give him an opportunity. I share a
-
nam this testimony. When I first became a Christian, this
-
was in seventy nine, I couldn't sing. In fact, you
-
know the piano keys, You've got the black keys and
-
the white keys. I used to sing in the cracks.
-
In fact, the church that I was in the Houston
-
tell me, talants, can you please keep quiet? You're throwing
-
everybody off. That's how bad it was. But thank God
-
for a wise pastor who said, let him be. If
-
he's praising the Lord, if he's worshiping Jesus, great things
-
can happen.
-
We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more
