  1. You're listening to a passage to go from AXTS church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. Discipleship is not a competition. Meaning many times we feel like,

  4. how much more do I have to pray? Is it?

  5. You know? Some of the people ask you, Leona, have

  6. you prayed enough or not? You're not enough? Right? We

  7. should say not enough? Have you done enough or not?

  8. You know? Have you done this enough? And we feel

  9. like I have to read the Bible enough? You know

  10. when it is enough? Is there a word enough? When

  11. you are in a relationship with Jesus. Amen. So it's

  12. more of a consciousness of being rather than just doing so.

  13. So we compete thing I pray more ten times more

  14. than you. I pray three times a day every day.

  15. It's not a competition. God did not call us into

  16. a competition. God has called us into a relationship with him. Amen.

  17. He calls us and he draws us near to him. Amen,

  18. and so ah this discipleship. Discipleship means to be disciple,

  19. to be a student, to be learning under somebody, to

  20. walk with somebody. That's the meaning in the Greek, the

  21. Greek language the original language mathatis is to come under

  22. to be learning from someone. So discipleship is not a competition.

  23. We must in your heart and mind. Remember it's not

  24. like you gain more brownie points. Okay, it's not. It's

  25. God takes us as we are, and what He really

  26. desires is that we pursue him with all of our hearts.

  27. And it's a love relationship. It's a relationship that He

  28. gives us as we give to him our hearts, Amen,

  29. our lives. Amen. So it doesn't make discipleship difficult, it

  30. makes it possible. Amen. Hallelujah. All right. Now, the reason

  31. why sometimes we struggle with discipleship, whether we choose to

  32. be a disciple or choose to or to disciple somebody,

  33. which is really something that Christ has told us to do,

  34. is because there needs to be a transformation of our minds. Amen. Church.

  35. Oh my, it's very silent. I hope you did not

  36. choose extras because we're a silent church. I need some amen.

  37. I did not leave a big church to start the church,

  38. and then's silent. Okay, all right. I don't know where

  39. you come from, but in Christ, all of heaven is rejoicing,

  40. So please some rejoicing. Amen. I'm gonna teach you to Amen,

  41. I don't come here once in ten years. So amen,

  42. all right, hallelujah, right, it feels like ten years. Right. Amen. Hey.

  43. The need is to have a transform mind, and that's

  44. found in Romans chapter twelve, Verse one to two. Romans

  45. Chapter twelve. Why do I say that? Why is it important?

  46. Because when you go to Romans twelve, here's what has written.

  47. Paul rites to the church in Rome and speaking to

  48. us as well. It says, so if you have your bible,

  49. so you can turn to it, or if help from

  50. spo XTV, thank you, dias. I beseech you. Therefore, Amen,

  51. I'm owning my Bible. I'm having it. Own your own bible,

  52. by your own bible, and read it. Amen, this is

  53. the truth. This is the word of God. Let's read it.

  54. I beseech you. Therefore, come on, brethren, by the mercies

  55. of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,

  56. holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

  57. And then verse two, and do not be conformed to

  58. this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

  59. that you may prove what is that good and acceptable

  60. and perfect will of God. Amen to the reading of

  61. God's word. Amen. So you know, Paul is beseeching, He's

  62. really rallying the believers and say, hey, come on, guys,

  63. it is true, by the mercies of God that we

  64. present ourselves to the Lord as living sacrifice and even

  65. living sacrifices here this morning. Yes, yes, are you dead

  66. or living? Living? Amen? All right, living sacrifice. That's why

  67. there's life in us. Amen. Jesus came to give us

  68. life and full stop. Now life and life more abundantly

  69. in every way, in that you may be well in

  70. your soul. Amen, in your in your heart, in your

  71. your soul, your spirit, your body, you be well. And

  72. so Paul is saying to us, hey, I you know,

  73. really employ you to present your bodies as living sacrifice

  74. that is holy, that is acceptable to the Lord, because

  75. this is reasonable, reasonable service or reasonable worship. The service

  76. is worship. Give it to the Lord. And then he says,

  77. don't be conformed to this world, but be transfer by

  78. the renewing of your mind. Brother and sisters. All of

  79. us need renewing in our minds. And it takes a journey.

  80. It's time as we come into the Lord. It is

  81. the reading of God's word. As you read God's word.

  82. It is like water and it washes us and it

  83. renews us day by day by day. Amen. And that's

  84. why he says, don't be confirmed, don't live and think

  85. like the way the world thinks, because this is past.

  86. The world is passing. But when you think God's way

  87. of thinking, then it's eternal. Then it's life, it's life giving. Amen.

  88. It transforms the way we ought to think. Because as

  89. we know, and you know we've shed this nightman again,

  90. you've heard the unrenewed mind will say everything is say

  91. you know, die die? Are you I didn't study it? Die?

  92. Are you I forgot to read it? Die? You know?

  93. Everything is so like that's it, you know. But in

  94. the Lord, when we change, when our minds are renewed,

  95. our tongue is renewed as well. So the words that

  96. we speak become life. Amen. Instead of speaking negativity to

  97. our children, we begin to speak life to them. And

  98. you know, the last time we used to laugh and

  99. say that you know, you know, dog and cow, but

  100. the Chinese bag grunda. And then you know our parents

  101. who will just say all kinds say they did. But

  102. as we declare that, it is what we become. Because

  103. there's power in our tongue. There's power, there's life and

  104. death in our tongue. So as we renew our minds, Oh,

  105. our minds are renewed through God's word. I'm sorry. The

  106. only way to renew is to God's word. Amen. As

  107. you read this wonderful, life giving word of God is living.

  108. It's a double edged sword. It's not dead, and he

  109. renews us. And as we are renewed in our minds,

  110. therefore we become conscious of our relationship with the lot. Amen.

  111. We become conscious as how how to live and how

  112. to be, not just to do because you get tired doing.

  113. But when you are, then you just live naturally. You

  114. are this living sacrifice of the Lord. You are the

  115. son and daughter of the living God. You make choices,

  116. right choices, not compromise choices. You make the choices that

  117. please the Lord. You make choices that open the windows

  118. of heaven and the blessing. Pause forth, Amen, do I

  119. hear an? Amen? Come on, the more you amen, I

  120. will have more better preaching. All right, If you are quiet,

  121. that's why maybe the preachers come and you're quiet, and

  122. they die and I send them to you every week. Right,

  123. So if you say amen, Selina will do even more

  124. bombard bombarding you all right, come on, come on church.

  125. We celebrate God's word. We celebrate God's word. So, friends,

  126. when you are renewed in our minds by how you

  127. ask me how I'm telling you? You have to get

  128. into this word. Not read one line the day. Maybe

  129. start with one lineer but one passage a day. Maybe,

  130. then into one chapter a day, and then move on

  131. in you know, slowly, slowly, all of us start from somewhere, slowly,

  132. slowly we develop our hunger and a love for God's

  133. word because his word is like water. It transforms us.

  134. God's word does not condemn us. His word convicts us

  135. of righteousness. And then we say, hey, Lord, I want

  136. to do what you are teaching me to do. Thank

  137. you for calling me out and saying, hey, this is

  138. don't feel down. Don't let the enemy say hey, you

  139. know you know you're down, You're out. No, it's the

  140. word of God that lifts us up as we come

  141. into his presence. Amen, day by day. Amen, don't don't know.

  142. Need talk to Jesus on Sunday. Amen, turn the Bible

  143. more than Sunday. Okay, maybe don't turn. Nowadays we have

  144. a e Bible, so it's just yeah, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe,

  145. all right, So this is important for us for some reason.

  146. My thing he doesn't want to come out. It is

  147. no what is it? My teve? Okay, my slides, but

  148. the slides are there, right, Okay, So I want to

  149. encourage us to be aware. Therefore, that discipleship is it's

  150. only possible when our minds are renewed. And if we

  151. haven't been renewed, we needed We need to renew. The

  152. renewed believer, the renewed child of God takes on the

  153. things that God has for him. Amen. And when we

  154. are not renewed, then we will be conformed to the

  155. ways of this world. And many of us were not

  156. always in Christ. I came from a non Christian family,

  157. So for that amount of years I lived like that.

  158. I thought like that, and I did things like that,

  159. I spoke that way. But when Jesus came into my life,

  160. he he the Lord by the Holy Spirit, began to

  161. transform my life and so that I would not conform

  162. to this world. But being transformed day by day, and

  163. then I'm able to actually prove God's word and life

  164. for me, meaning the good will of God, the acceptable

  165. will of God, and the perfect will of God. We

  166. want to live the perfect will of God for us,

  167. good acceptable, perfect will of God. But we need time.

  168. God also doesn't rush on us. He works patiently with us.

  169. So I want to encourage us. Allow the Holy Spirit

  170. to work in you, and as he speaks, as you

  171. read his word. This is how God speaks to you,

  172. firstly through his written word, and then from his written word,

  173. the inspired word will come for you at the time

  174. of need. Amen. And you know what, all of our

  175. growth and our foundation lies in no one else and

  176. nothing else except Christ, our firm foundation. Everything and anything

  177. you know in our faith is founded on Jesus Christ alone. Amen.

  178. So when we are being transformed and we are being changed,

  179. we are all founded upon Jesus Christ our foundation. First Corinthians,

  180. Chapter two, verse one to five. First Corinthians, Chapter two,

  181. Verse one to five. Amen. What does Paul say to

  182. the Church of Chrinth. Now the church in Corinth was

  183. the church that he planted, and they were having trouble

  184. and different problems were happening within the church, and he

  185. had to write this letter to speak to them, to

  186. guide them. And so he says to them in First Corinthians,

  187. chapter two, verse one to five. First Corinthians, Chapter two,

  188. Verse one to five. He says, yeah, I brethren, when

  189. I came to you, I did not come with excellence

  190. of speech or wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.

  191. For I determine, said Paul, not to know anything among

  192. you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with

  193. you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And

  194. my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words

  195. or human wisdom, but in demonstration of the spirit and

  196. of power. That your faith should not be in the

  197. wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Amen,

  198. that our confidence, all of our confidence, lie not in

  199. our flesh, not in our accolades, but our confidence lies

  200. in Christ alone, who is our firm foundation. And as

  201. you are founded in Christ. Therefore that's why I say,

  202. we then are being able to be renewed in our

  203. minds true the reading of God's Word, and the challenge

  204. for many believers is that we are not giving enough

  205. time to the living Word of God. There is there

  206. has to be a hunger, There has to be a

  207. thirst for the Word for prayer for us to experience

  208. the revival of God. It doesn't come just by sitting

  209. and twiddling your fingers or watching Netflix. As I said

  210. before burn Netflix. Yeah, because our children's minds are being

  211. eaten up by the things in Netflix, the language that

  212. they use, the vision, the things that they see. Oh

  213. my goodness. The first time I watched Netflix in somebody's house,

  214. I thought I was seeing things. I had to turn

  215. my eyes away, you know, because I see niked man,

  216. nicked man. I mean, I don't know this person put

  217. on this thing. And I was just talking and I

  218. I see what kind of channel is this? By the way,

  219. but not my house, or I didn't there say anything.

  220. I just found out, Oh it's Netflix. Oh it's it's

  221. Oh my word, dear, oh thing. Never go to fild

  222. Malaysia Cup Company, never go through you know, our Malaysian

  223. Censorship board. And our children are being exposed to that

  224. if we didn't know what they were doing on their

  225. handphones or whatever, and and so their minds. So I

  226. say no, no, our confidence cannot be in anything that

  227. the world has to offer. Because everything in the world

  228. is passing away. Only thing in Christ will remain. And

  229. we need to trust that the Lord will bring us

  230. through this Amen. Our foundation has to be in Christ alone.

  231. Our confidence all that we're doing is in Christ alone.

  232. So we as we've taken this year and will continue

  233. to go onto discipleship. It doesn't matter next year a

  234. different theme. We will always growing our discipleship because EXS

  235. Church is founded on discipleship. The day we started, we

  236. started what we call a huddle system, a discipleship, a

  237. relational how a relation, a relational discipleship system that we do.

  238. And today the elders that you see, our leaders, our

  239. key elders, are what we call them as deacons and

  240. elders are the people that we discipled over the last

  241. many years. And today they don't need me anymore because

  242. their leaders on their own right right because of the

  243. discipleship we have handed over leadership to them. So Passa

  244. and I are a to go on to other things,

  245. as as you send us out to plant churches and

  246. to minister elsewhere. But our leaders here, the ones who

  247. plant churches, the ones who lead others, because the only

  248. foundation is Christ. Amen. And so discipleship is so important.

  249. And I want to say to us discipleship the words

  250. of the experience of discipleship is only is found only

  251. in two words two wards. What do you think it is?

  252. The shampoo? Follow me? Discipleship is found only in two

  253. words follow me, follow me, follow me? Okay, follow me?

  254. All right? Because in Mark one seventeen, Jesus came by,

  255. you know, the sea, and he and and and the

  256. fishermen were there, and he and he and he said, hey, guys,

  257. follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

  258. So this is Jesus and say, hey, follow me, all right.

  259. He did not have followed me shampoo, but he was

  260. the Lord of lords. They didn't know who is this

  261. crazy guy? Right? I mean, they didn't know him, but

  262. they heard about him from John the Baptist, and he

  263. saw him, you know, doing miracles and healing people. And

  264. so when he said follow me, they dropped everything and

  265. they followed him. Whoa, oh, can we drop everything and

  266. follow all the way so towards friends discipleship. Discipleship is

  267. not ex church idea. It's not anybody's idea. Is Christ?

  268. I preach Christ to you because this is the word

  269. of God. This is not my words, this is Jesus.

  270. Follow me, amen, follow me, he says, and So our

  271. first step is to believe that we follow Christ. And

  272. many here have said yes to Jesus, and you're following him. Amen.

  273. Then we go on to Matthew twenty eight, verse nineteen

  274. to twenty and partners. You know this inundated over many

  275. years we've said, is I go to every church, it's

  276. the same themes. Just this past week I went to

  277. different church and on the walls. Wow, we're saying them, Yeah,

  278. what does Matthew twenty eight nineteen twenty says, go and

  279. make disciples of all nations and then teaching them to

  280. observe all things that I have commanded you A reminder again,

  281. church that make disciples was not you know, Selina's idea.

  282. All right, it's make disciples, not Leona's idea. It is

  283. Jesus' idea, the last commandment. Our first priority is to

  284. go and reach out and make disciples of all nations. Amen.

  285. Baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son,

  286. and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Foundations of our faith. We

  287. call on the name of Jesus and are safe. We

  288. are baptized by immersion, Amen, and we are born again. Hallelujah.

  289. These are our foundations. So we are to make disciples.

  290. We are to reach out to someone, be a disciple ourselves,

  291. and then we make disciples. So it's a commandment of

  292. the Lord. And in acts we say Jesus's last commandment

  293. our first priority. What's our first priority? To make disciples?

  294. And that's why the theme says disciple first. Hey, why

  295. you say like dead? What you say it? Well, because

  296. I'm a disciple, Good on you. But are you making disciples?

  297. The only way the world will be rich for Jesus

  298. is if you and I continue to reach out and

  299. make disciples. They may not yet be there where they are,

  300. they may not know Christ, but our connection to them,

  301. our friendship with them. Oh we manduky book it we climb.

  302. What you do you do hiking right? You make friends

  303. with people, You are discipling them by your you know.

  304. Oh you need to use words. Then you use words,

  305. otherwise your actions will speak and shine who you are

  306. being rather than just doing. San Francis of Sis said,

  307. you know, speak the gospel, declare the gospel, share the gospel.

  308. If necessary, use words. So our lives should speak. So

  309. I have to remind myself how am I being? If

  310. I miss being? If I miss being then nobody wants

  311. to follow Jesus luck. Okay, but cannot I cannot be

  312. the only right. I gotta continue to grow. So I

  313. want to say to us church encouragement. To us who

  314. are already following a disciple of Christ. I also want

  315. to say, we need to disciple. So when you look

  316. at X chapter two, verse forty two, X chapter two,

  317. verse forty two. Now in X chapter two is the

  318. X chapter three? Sorry I may have I think it's

  319. three X chapter three and verse it's two. It's three,

  320. it's three three. Sorry I wrote the wrong one. So

  321. it's X chapter two. Oh no, no, yes, it's X

  322. chapter two forty two. So this one says when the

  323. first church was planted and they all gathered, there were

  324. three thousand of them. I think Chapter two forty two

  325. says three thousand were three thousand souls were added to them.

  326. And then what did they do? They continued steadfastly in

  327. the apostles, doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread,

  328. and in press. This very verse from Acts chapter two,

  329. verse forty to forty seven is the foundation of which

  330. as church plant our church on that we practice these

  331. we have to learn to continue to practice them to

  332. steadfastly follow the apostles doctrine, the Word of God, Amen,

  333. and fellowship and breaking of bread and press a man

  334. praying hallelujah. So the church was born on the apostles doctrine, hallelujah.

  335. And they fellowship, they broke bread, and they said, and

  336. they had press. Now this continues because somebody was discipling somebody.

  337. You can't pass on without anyone being disciple to do that.

  338. So it's important for us to consider our disciples. Am

  339. I a disciple of Price? So I want to ask you,

  340. whose disciple are you? Are you? Are you? Are you

  341. K Pop's disciple? Disciple? Disciple? By that's how you dress,

  342. that's how you wear your hair. I mean some of

  343. us are like, yeah, we just followed that. We feel

  344. like their disciples. You know you you follow the trend

  345. and everything, But but whose disciple are you? Truly? If

  346. you are disciple of Price, If I am a disciple

  347. of Price and I'm speaking this message to my own heart,

  348. then I would follow him, follow him, right. I just

  349. want to encourage us as as as you've come in

  350. to ask some of you could be new and how

  351. you're gonna grow? I give you a little cycle first

  352. before I get into some stuff. I don't know where

  353. your journey has been. We've all been through journeys. We've

  354. all been through hard times. We've all been through challenges,

  355. whether it be in our faith, in our family life,

  356. in our work. I want to say something to us.

  357. The next diagram. I drew a diagram. Oh my goodness,

  358. I can't draw. I just did this law. Okay, friends,

  359. and you come into the Lord. When you come into

  360. a new place, we need to unpack. A lot of

  361. people don't unpack. When you don't unpack, you're never really

  362. ready to stay. Then this place, this community of believers

  363. become like hotel. I know some people, when you go

  364. to hotel, they take out everything and arrange like this's

  365. their house. Now. I'm quite shocked because I think so

  366. much trouble to hang up all the clothes, take out

  367. all the shoe I'm like, just everything in the bag

  368. when I need it. No, but they are here to

  369. stay like for five days lack right, oh, one week?

  370. I don't know. We have to learn to unpack whatever

  371. you carry from wherever you come from, whether you just

  372. became a Christian or a follow up crist or you

  373. want to know Christ or you come from different places,

  374. different nations. You come in you're here with us. Now

  375. we have to unpack. We have to I just spoke

  376. to a couple yesterday. I said, we say you have

  377. to unpack and know where God is leading you, and

  378. then you need to root down. Even if it's not

  379. with acts, it doesn't matter. You need to unpack and

  380. root down in a house of God. Amen and Amy

  381. know this couple and they finally knew that where they

  382. were going to root down. And I said, it's okay

  383. that it's not here. We need you to unpack and

  384. route down because then you will flourish. And when the

  385. husband decided this is the place, then I could see

  386. the blessing flow. So we need to unpack and we

  387. need to root down you while we are passing by

  388. this planet, but while we're still here. There needs to

  389. be a unpacking and stabilizer a bit. Yeah, route down.

  390. We have to take off, unpacked, take out everything. You

  391. come with your burdens, You come with the expectations, but

  392. take time to route down in the house of God.

  393. Because Jesus had the you know, gave the commission to

  394. his disciples and the first Church was planted and people

  395. came from all walks of life. But they had to unpack,

  396. they had to route down. And I would say, it

  397. takes time to go through different things. It takes time

  398. be patient with one another. It takes time to heal

  399. from different things that you have experienced, whether it be family,

  400. from your workplace in ministry, it takes time. But as

  401. you heal to different circumstances, your trust must grow. Your

  402. trust must grow with the team here, with the leadership here.

  403. If you don't have a trust, you will never grow

  404. because the next thing is to grow too mature. Amen,

  405. as we grow, as we mature, it is very automatic

  406. that we serve. We're serving God's house, God's heart, and

  407. then the cycle repeat again. You help someone else unpack,

  408. help someone else route down, and then repeat again. That

  409. is the formula. So many many people go through such

  410. hard time, such challenges that we've lost. You know, I

  411. don't trust this, I don't trust that. I don't trust

  412. a lot of people. So we come in and out

  413. of the House of God without unpacking, without routing down,

  414. and then we don't give time and we just hope

  415. that you grow. We need time. Anything needs time, even

  416. we fall down. Like my husband took six months for

  417. the fracture. It's still healing. But for the time that

  418. he had to sit still and not more was killing

  419. him right, just he couldn't walk, said, I had to

  420. do everything for him. But in the waiting, the new

  421. bone was growing and healing, and the gaps were closing,

  422. and all those little gaps, the fracture began to close up.

  423. And when you see in the X ray, there's no

  424. more gap. So we need even the physical is parallel

  425. with our spiritual. We need time. But you see, if

  426. he never unpacked and he just wanted to keep doing

  427. his thing with a broken leg, he ain't gonna root

  428. down anywhere and he ain't gonna heal right, So say

  429. you just stay up there, don't come down right, just

  430. stay up there, and I will have to do everything

  431. for you until you can walk down the stairs again.

  432. So our Christian faith, wherever you're walking, wherever you're going,

  433. we need to unpack, even your pains, even your fears.

  434. You don't trust anybody, fine, I'm not asking you trust us.

  435. Trust the Lord first, really renew your minds. In order

  436. to get into a discipleship or to disciple someone, you

  437. need to renew yourself in the Lord. Amen, and begin

  438. to root down, go through with people who would walk

  439. with you. And this whole cycle is a discipleship kind

  440. of walk with somebody. Church doesn't just happen. Any church

  441. you go to doesn't just happen with strangers. Work with

  442. people who want to root down and do life together.

  443. No church can exist without people routing down because otherwise

  444. we all are just yes. And then we say, by

  445. the House of God is men for people to grow.

  446. It also has place. It also causes pain. Sometimes the

  447. amount of pain we might go to should should not

  448. rob you of the trust that you have in Jesus

  449. and that you would trust Him to lead you to

  450. the people that will walk with you and that will

  451. help you through. Amen. In hard times, I tell you, friends,

  452. you may think you don't need a church. You may

  453. think you don't need anybody, and you can just run

  454. your own walk. But the Bible says, we're not an

  455. island island in the sun. We're not an island. He

  456. called us to be disciples together in the hardest of times.

  457. I tell you we are there. We're not perfect. I

  458. have to say as leaders, I'm not perfect, as you're

  459. senior minister of this church. I'm not perfect, but that

  460. doesn't mean I can't continue to grow and serve God

  461. and to walk with you. Amen, to walk with you

  462. or Selina, jo or Leone or the leaders here, Eddie,

  463. whoever the leaders are in this house. John, We're not perfect,

  464. but God is transforming us, Amen, and we must so. Church. Remember,

  465. wherever you are, you must unpack, you must root down,

  466. give yourself time to heal. If you came from a

  467. difficult place, will trust again that one person, that two

  468. persons may be, and then grow in your faith. Too many,

  469. too many people, you know, just crash and burn and

  470. then give up. We need to grow. Thank you for

  471. sticking on. Thank you for not throwing in the towel.

  472. Friends here, thank you for sticking on and allowing time

  473. for healing, time to hear again what God is saying

  474. and doing in your life and in the life of

  475. our church. And as we mature, maturity is very important.

  476. Ya Hey, how many of you moms and heads here,

  477. If your child is twenty five is still drinking milk,

  478. you will be worried that person could be undeveloped, underdeveloped.

  479. So sue, you know, drink mail or me cannot twenty

  480. five years or no, even if he's seven and just

  481. drinking milk or so cannot. Right, Little Noah'm so tall

  482. because he ain't just drinking mal he's eating neat. He's

  483. tall for his age. If it's parallel, what happens in

  484. the natural happens in the spiritual. Amen. So we must

  485. not only grow, we must mature, and the roots will

  486. When you dig dig deep roots, then the tree can

  487. be strong and the tree cannot cannot be shaken when

  488. the roots are deep and able to draw from the

  489. water that is in the earth. Amen. Same like us,

  490. we need to dig deep and our roots into the

  491. world of God, into what he's saying to us. And

  492. you know what, Friends, when we disciple someone, it is

  493. not so that they become like, hey, I tell you

  494. what to do. No, right, John, No, we don't do that.

  495. I think my first thing is I disciple somebody. The

  496. first thing I wanted is to point you back to Jesus,

  497. because only Jesus is your foundation. Only Jesus is the

  498. one who can do everything for you. I'm just pointing

  499. you to him. But because I went a bit ahead

  500. of you, I'm just showing you a little bit of

  501. the way and again because you might say you're imperfect,

  502. But can I say to you, Jesus use twelve imperfect men.

  503. So go ahead and say that I am imperfect and

  504. allows a woman. Fine, but Jesus chose twelve imperfect men,

  505. one who gave up on him, and he turned him,

  506. turned him over, one blaber mouth. Sometimes I feel like

  507. a Peter. They are too always fighting who greater, who bigger?

  508. Sons of the thunder right, Hey, I best you best

  509. you best you hear you know I don't know Peter

  510. and chopping people's head, chopping people's ears off right, they

  511. were not perfect. So I think sometimes we're not reading

  512. our bibles to know that God takes the imperfect and

  513. perfects us but he needs time and he needs people

  514. to walk with. If Selena did not stand alongside with

  515. me long enough, she would have left. You know how

  516. gangster she is. Right, I'm scared of her. Okay that

  517. we're all scared of her. But we've met Selena that

  518. many years ago. When I asked her, please, would you

  519. do ex kids with us? She took it up. I

  520. was scared to ask her, but I asked her, did

  521. she go to highs and lows. Yes, she did. We

  522. just sang the song every high, every load, write that song. Yeah.

  523. But I know that, I know that Jesus is in

  524. this boat with me. He's my foundation. So I want

  525. to tell us, if you're gonna grow you first as

  526. a disciple, you need to unpack your route down. You

  527. give time, We give you time. You need to build

  528. trust again. Trust God again, because if you have a

  529. problem with God, then you will have problem with all

  530. of us. Trust God again, Trust one person at least

  531. whom you can trust. Grow mature and maturing sometimes means

  532. taking some hard knocks or sola. It cannot be so

  533. you know, like ha ha ha, No, sometimes you cry

  534. sometimes like whont you say me? Won't you say me? Right?

  535. It's so hard, you know. I tell my twelve ladies

  536. before I saw in the early days, say doctor Juli,

  537. I remember she said, so would you decipe for me? Yes? Yes,

  538. and yes years ago? And I said, sure, but can

  539. I speak into your life? Would you allow me to

  540. do that if I find something not really aligning? They

  541. all bravely said Yesler, okay. And there were times when

  542. you had to address matters and issues, but not out

  543. of evil heart, but because because I care enough to

  544. tell you, and once I don't care and don't want

  545. to care, then I don't tell you and I walk away.

  546. And I said, what's the point. But we spent twenty

  547. years or more with so many ones, and that's where

  548. where we are. But that's difficult, and so people don't

  549. like that. Some people don't like discipleship, so they leave

  550. X because you think we're going to take over your lives.

  551. I don't have time to take over your lives. Really

  552. we don't. We're here to lead you and release you

  553. so that the cycle goes over and again. All right,

  554. Discipleship is not our plan, not men's thoughts. It is

  555. Christ says, follow me, and then this is where you are. Disciple. First,

  556. we used to have to disciple someone. So first go

  557. in this Jeft eleven, verse one, the one verse we

  558. never want to use. There you use it. I don't dare,

  559. but now I have to dare. Imitate me, imitate me

  560. as I imitate Christ. Very hard to say, very hot,

  561. because you look at yourself and go, I'm so flawed,

  562. I'm so much aflaw in me, I make so much mistakes.

  563. Who am I? Why am I saying that. Paul says,

  564. imitate me, as I imitate Christ? Can I say it there?

  565. I even say it? Oh very hard, No, we're hard,

  566. very hard. Wow. So we have to hide behind behind

  567. We have to hide in Christ, you know, and say

  568. imitate me, Paul says, as I imitate Christ? So how

  569. are we gonna do it? I want to encourage you

  570. that you can discipher someone even though you feel. You

  571. must be rooted first, and so so my first diagram

  572. very important. You must take root, You must take you

  573. must route down first. You must be willing to have

  574. that one person in your life to speak into your life.

  575. You must at least trust that person, that one person,

  576. or do take root. We're here. We're here for you.

  577. You know how you know I'm here for you? Sorry,

  578. I have to bring it up like but that's twenty

  579. five thirty years of doing church. I'm here for you.

  580. When someone in your family dies, I'm the most important person.

  581. Can you bury my dad? But not bury you? You know,

  582. because you're alive, but your family members, because when your

  583. parents get older, they cannot go to church anymore. They

  584. don't have a church and they pastor can you can

  585. you do it for me? My mom's church won't do

  586. it for them? Would you do it for me? Do

  587. you know why I would do it? Because it's one

  588. of the hardest time in your life, and because I

  589. know you, I won't even have a second thought. I'll

  590. do it. You never think how important your church is

  591. until you suddenly decide I need you to bury me.

  592. I'm not just here to marry you and baptize you

  593. and give you your baby's a blessing, dedicate your children

  594. as past as. We also have to do the homegoings

  595. with our stay and with you. You don't think it's

  596. important yet, you don't think it's important, so you can

  597. jump church and jump institutions, constitutions whatever. When this thing happens,

  598. even the police will ask you manapuna padre, you're priests? Wow,

  599. where where is your priest? La? Okay, it doesn't matter

  600. Buddhist priest, Indo priests lama. They will ask. They will

  601. ask because our country is ruts In and kada to hunt.

  602. We believe in God, Thank God, formulation. Don't you condemn

  603. this country and call it you know it's God, God

  604. God for saken, it's not. They still have a constitution

  605. that says to hunt. So the police will ask you

  606. Manaun Padre, and so I become strangers Pa Padre, because

  607. they don't know who else to turn to. Sometimes I

  608. feel used la because before they they don't know me.

  609. Now tell you, in all these times, you know we

  610. are here for you. This is one of the hardest times.

  611. As how you were here for me when my dad

  612. passed on. His church was there for him for me

  613. to do this friends discipleship, Bill's relationship. It's a relational

  614. discipleship that we do. Root yourself and grow and mature.

  615. Don't be offended so easily, Jesus say, already, offenses will

  616. come left right center. How to live your life every

  617. day offended? No needl just cuss it out or I

  618. can see offense coming like an arrow, cuts it out.

  619. Just give it a wind, fart at it or whatever

  620. you want to do it all right, just get it off,

  621. don't let it stick. I too have to do that

  622. because I can get offended easily enough. You know, people

  623. can say all kinds of things, do not do or do.

  624. But this is when you want to start saying, imitate

  625. me as imitate Christ. Oh dear, I don't think so

  626. I want to encourage you today. Why we will be

  627. able to say this because John fifteen four or five

  628. says what John fifteen is about the vine, the true vine.

  629. John chapter fifteen, verse four to five. Jesus says, abide

  630. in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot

  631. bare food of itself unless it abides in the vine.

  632. Neither can you unless you abide in me. I am

  633. the vine. You are the branches. He who abides in

  634. Me and I in him bears much fruit. For without

  635. me you can do nothing. If we don't have Jesus,

  636. we can do nothing. So earlier I already say our

  637. confidence lies in Christ, and so we want to abide

  638. in Christ. Hang in with me. I'll get to my point.

  639. That why, disciple firse. Okay, and I robbed this from

  640. my husband, Okay, I mean the example. If he comes

  641. appreciate you know where I took it from. Okay, he

  642. does it way better than me. But I'm still the learner.

  643. But I told him I'm taking a message abiding in Christ.

  644. And then as you abiding Christ, you then say, hey,

  645. imitate me as I imitate Christ. I'm gonna show you

  646. a picture because when I saw it, I went blew

  647. my mind. All right. So if you get to the

  648. next one, oh, the yellow gloves, do you know that

  649. I have to Then if you go and do all

  650. this get the picture, you have to pay the free

  651. pick and whatever pick and splash is splash okay, wow,

  652. oh the nice yellow this one gloves have to pay.

  653. So I get these ugly ones like they're hanging and

  654. then like they're not very nice stuff. I had to

  655. take it. I wanted a picture of it. There. It

  656. costs money to get the nice glove, the yellow glove,

  657. because everybody knows the yellow glove, the yellow man. Okay,

  658. all right, so the glove. I want to show you

  659. about the glove. And I brought the glove, and I

  660. need somebody to be my demonstrator. But your hand, garnabies,

  661. cannot be sweaty. It's an em size. Okay. Now, so

  662. this is a glove, everybody exhibit a Is it of

  663. any use at this time? Shake hands with me? Nothing

  664. much to shake it. Come on, do it again, not

  665. very lively, slep you, but nothing happens, right, okay, okay,

  666. this this is the glove, and then this is the hand.

  667. Don't show me the hand, right, show me the hand Okay,

  668. here's the hand. What hand is this the right hand? Okay?

  669. The glove is like us. You don't abide in crisis,

  670. but the hen when you talk about abiding, why don't

  671. you abide? Why don't you stay in the Lord? Oh

  672. there's some feeling. Now Selena is abiding in Christ. What

  673. do you see? You see Selena? But what's inside the

  674. hand which represents this abiding in Christ? And she can

  675. do a lot of things. Now there's life. Now there's feeling.

  676. Imitate me as I immediate Christ, only because I'm abiding

  677. in Christ, abiding in Christ. When you abide in Christ,

  678. you dare say, with all humility, imitate me as I

  679. imitate Christ. I'm only doing what Christ is leading me

  680. to do. And we are so afraid to say imitate

  681. me to disciple someone because you say I might lead

  682. them astray. No, but you must be led first, and

  683. you must abide. And this glove that goes into the

  684. veriest foundation, Jesus Christ gives it, a body gives it,

  685. you know, stability. And now there's a little finger. Just

  686. now it was you know, just now it's just like this. Hello,

  687. it's a limp, and our lives will be like this.

  688. How to say imitate me as I imitate Christ. There's

  689. nothing here, it's limp. But when you abide in Christ,

  690. Christ is working through you and in you, and you

  691. can't be the one to lead someone to disciple someone

  692. because you're abiding in Him. And Jesus says, unless you

  693. abide in Me, you can do nothing. Amen. It's a

  694. powerful illustration when you think about it, because you're asking

  695. how to abide Macha meanila like this lack abide in Christ.

  696. Be in Christ, get into the stream of Christ's life.

  697. He is the true vine. Abide in Him. That's why

  698. I ask you who are you following? Firstly, are we

  699. Christ follow us? Number two? Do you have a disciple,

  700. disciple who disciples you, who's following Christ? Amen? Otherwise we

  701. become these limb hands that try to serve and cannot serve.

  702. Pleageitar hit the car horn, eh. Fuck. But when you

  703. abiding Christ, you are solid and you have something to give. Amen.

  704. It's powerful that when we abide, we can say, imitate

  705. me as I imitate Christ, because I'm I'm in Christ. Amen.

  706. Give selina hand. I hope you you catch something you need.

  707. You need your life to be in Christ abiding. But

  708. many of us don't abide. We don't abide either because

  709. we didn't realize that this is who we are. We

  710. are God's children. But you have to want to stay, stay,

  711. no walk away and do our own thing and find out,

  712. Oh that's the way to do life and follow everybody

  713. else and every trend. But this is what paulses, there's

  714. no other wisdom of man but the wisdom that comes

  715. from God. That that I don't come with clever speech

  716. or persuasive words. I just want the power of God

  717. to move through me. That is the power of God

  718. moving through that glove that was dead. And when Christ

  719. is in you you abide, then his power, his life

  720. is flowing through you. Amen, hallelujah. Can do you catch it? Why?

  721. Because it's so hard you ask me. I also want

  722. to say, Leona, immediate me as imitate Christ. Firstly, she

  723. might say why okay? Or do I really have to

  724. look at you? I don't know. But if we have

  725. the confidence, the confidence comes with the clarity, the clarity

  726. that Christ. I am in Christ. When there's clarity, there

  727. is confidence. My is in Christ. And so when I

  728. confidently walk up and rock up to her and say no, Nah,

  729. imitate me is I imitiate Christ. I'm doing my bit.

  730. Come along and bring the other one that you are leading,

  731. come along, And so it repeats itself again. We can't

  732. do it on our own. We can't disciple because we

  733. feel we are weak. And the enemy will tell you

  734. how horrible you are? Are you bad person? No devil

  735. will repeat all these things. But when you abide in Christ,

  736. it's never about us anymore. It's Him. It's Him in us,

  737. the hope of glory. And that weakness is becoming being

  738. strengthened as we abide in Christ. Amen, what a picture?

  739. Can you catch? It? Do I hear? An? Amen? Is

  740. there anybody still in the room? I've lost you? No,

  741. you are here, yay. Amen, Abide in me and I

  742. in you, and then the branch cannot bear fruit of

  743. itself and it abides. So let's stay abiding in Christ.

  744. I tell you church, I'm not here to give you

  745. a nice message, as I told another church service, I'm

  746. here to prepare you for the end times. You don't

  747. want for me to tell you nice things and you

  748. can go home and clap your hands feel good message.

  749. I don't want to give you a feel good messages.

  750. I want you to take a message that says I

  751. have to abide in Christ. I am going to go

  752. through this storm. You know what's going on in the world.

  753. It is uncertain, it is so changing. And you know,

  754. if you want to put your hope in one person,

  755. that's also uncertain. If I only put my hope in

  756. my husband, although he's an amazing man, but if I

  757. just think that's it all my my salvations as if

  758. on my husband Harvey Isla cannot then if he goes,

  759. then now example adopt me. Ah. The confidence is only

  760. to be in Christ and Christ alone. You get to

  761. Heaven is because of Christ and Christ alone. Nothing else,

  762. not our good works, not our accolades, nothing, not our

  763. PhD nothing. It is Christ and Christ alone. So when

  764. you are a disciple of Christ first and then on

  765. planet Earth, we're still walking. Who who are you being

  766. discipled by? And who are you discipling? That is the

  767. sadness of the Church because so many of us don't

  768. want to keep the word of Christ to make disciples,

  769. one disciple at a time. The world can be changed.

  770. We just need to make time for the things of God.

  771. Because I tell you, our life is so amazingly impecting.

  772. When you want something, you will do it. It's true.

  773. My gang in got the comning. I say, got the communing.

  774. Tell me no time, no time, But when it's pickable time,

  775. everyone is at the court. I don't know. Was it

  776. last Sunday or this Sunday? We're having a match interchurch.

  777. We didn't even know there was an interchurch match? Who won?

  778. I don't know? Is it this Sunday and next Sunday?

  779. Do you know? Huh? We Sunday? Somebody knows today. Please

  780. do not fight, okay, let them win, Let them win.

  781. Why you lost because my pasterns said, let you win.

  782. Do not fight nor feel okay, don't bring your real

  783. colors out. Competitive spirit a gable. No. You know, when

  784. we want something enough, we will make time for it.

  785. That is life, and and and and then and the

  786. whole story and the teaching. The Bible tells us it's priority.

  787. What is your priority? Discipling someone takes time, it does.

  788. I'm discipling a new person now. And you know what

  789. if if if she didn't chase me, I will forget

  790. because I'm busy. But she chases me every month, past

  791. our meeting, past meeting. Now I'm like, I have no time,

  792. especially when my as wells and well I couldn't leave

  793. the house. So we missed quite a few months of

  794. not meeting, and I just met her recently to catch

  795. up again. What's happening discipling a new person just to

  796. get just because she said I didn't want to be

  797. disciples All these years, I didn't see the point. But

  798. when I heard the message, I knew I had to

  799. be discipled. I need to get into a disciple shit relationship.

  800. And she's new to us, and her husband also said, yeah,

  801. I want to be disciples. Unfortunately, he works across borders,

  802. so it's a bit hard to stabilize. But maybe he'll

  803. he'll ask one of our leaders wherever he's at to

  804. disciple him. She's willing. I'm spending time with a new person.

  805. A lot of y'all ways say pass, you're already busy

  806. and not better to do it. Is the best thing

  807. to do is to replicate yourself. Hopefully she will she

  808. will disciple someone else. It takes time, life. I cannot

  809. rush this job, right. I can't rush it, you know,

  810. you just got to take it slowly, slowly and pour

  811. in right. And I'm doing the best that I can

  812. with the time that I have. But if I don't disciple,

  813. I will die because I'm not life giving at all.

  814. I'm not personally life giving. It can be serving and

  815. doing all these things that dada, but life, you know,

  816. speaking into another person's life. The twelve ladies under me

  817. don't giving life to other people already they didn't need

  818. my life anymore. Yeah, they're big people, they're big time.

  819. So yeah, they're our elders. I have to bow down

  820. to them. Okay, I'm not worthy, but and so we

  821. release them to do that, but we catch up when

  822. we hear each other, when their times are hard. I'm

  823. there for them, but there are new people, so I

  824. take on your people. It's like how you taking people

  825. for hiking, right, you teach them how to hike, same principle,

  826. or you hikers all your pickup all players, same principle.

  827. You play pickaball and then you train someone else to play.

  828. You are discipling them, but you're discipling them to something

  829. that is not eternal. But when you disciple them into Christ,

  830. it will be eternal. Their lives will be for the Lord,

  831. for the kingdom. Amen. Amen. I want to encourage us.

  832. If you're walking through a journey and no one and

  833. sometimes you need someone to walk with you. I pray

  834. that the Lord will show you the importance of disciple first.

  835. I am first a disciple, and then I will disciple

  836. first somebody. So who is that? Somebody pray that the

  837. Lord will bring to you. It could be someone in

  838. your office. It's not like, hey, come, I disciple you.

  839. It's not like a head that I know in your

  840. obviously book. Sometimes it's you're making friends with your colleagues.

  841. They they are they don't know Christ yet. But your

  842. your person your personality, your your your love, your kindness,

  843. and they will turn their head and say why why

  844. why are you so different? What is it you know?

  845. And and you begin to you don't even preach to them.

  846. You live, You be, You be the only reason why

  847. people follow you fighting because you is do ease, not

  848. your word, not your words. You ease and you hike.

  849. You have something to give some all of us have

  850. something to give because we is We're not a world,

  851. we're not a wars. We are ease because Jesus is alive. Amen. Amen.

  852. And God has a plan for each and every one

  853. of us, like that glove he's there would you abide

  854. in him like that glove. Would you choose to abide

  855. in him and allow him to move you? Amen? Allow

  856. him space in your heart. Amen. Because it's nice to sing,

  857. I will make room for you, But it's something else

  858. when you really make room for Jesus. I sing that

  859. song and I think, oh, man, am I making room

  860. for you? Lord. I'm trying to call it off. My

  861. own time I don't I don't have. I don't have

  862. all my time. I don't have free time. Friends, I

  863. don't have. It's not like you're so bad you don't

  864. have free time. If I have free time, I'm either

  865. washing the clothes, a hanging the clothes, maybe baking. Maybe.

  866. These days I have no time to beay because I'm studying.

  867. Since eating all my time, I will be finished. Next year.

  868. I will be finished. Then I'll start making again. Yah

  869. you chay you. But time as the lot leads me

  870. to do what I just do it. And yes, there's

  871. time to rest and all that. I mean, we take breaks.

  872. But I'm just saying, friends, renovate your minds. We need

  873. our minds to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

  874. You need to renovate your minds so that you can

  875. see as Jesus sees Church. And the reason why we

  876. don't want to be discipled, don't trust, or don't believe,

  877. is because our minds are not renovated. Yet we are

  878. still thinking in the way and conforming to the way

  879. of the world. We are afraid that. You know, we

  880. say people were users, and I don't like to be

  881. say I'm using. I feel we are empowering people to

  882. really step up into their destiny and their call that

  883. God has for them. Discipling is the only way to go. See, friends,

  884. if you're not discipling in the things of eternity, you're

  885. being discipled for things that won't last anyways. You're already

  886. paying money for training and to be coached and doing

  887. all these other things. But it's not going to be

  888. for eternity. But God wants to call you into eternity,

  889. and he wants to poy his life. As you give

  890. him room and you abide in him, and as you

  891. abide in him, you bear fruit. You move as He

  892. moves you to go Amen. That's why Scripture is there

  893. for us. Said, you can say, imitate me as I

  894. imitate Christ. Who are you imitating? First? So if I'm

  895. imitating my leader, then my leader must be imitating Christ

  896. at the best as the best as they can. We're

  897. not perfect, but we are we are doing the best

  898. that we can because God knows. We are all work

  899. in progress. But we can be good examples to one another. Amen.

  900. And we want to release us ourselves with the Lord

  901. so that he can teach us. He can guide us. Amen. Friends,

  902. you can say no and want to because at the

  903. end of the day you will have to answer the

  904. Lord when he said go and make disciples and you

  905. said no, Lord, you'll have to answer him. So I

  906. want to tell you better have an answer for the Lord.

  907. You cannot say because it's Elena's fault. She made such

  908. a hard time for me. Oh, Joel's fault. You can't

  909. stand before the Lord. Said, I didn't want to go

  910. make disciples because because maybe you stand before the Lord.

  911. I pray we all eyes skettles. So I have to say,

  912. am I doing what God is asking me to do?

  913. Prepare for eternity? This is a very uncertain world, volatile,

  914. uncertain things change, he said, That's the one that stabilizes

  915. is Jesus. Amen, hallelujah. He stabilizes. He is our a

  916. girl faith Allelujah.
