  1. You're listening to a message to go from X Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day. We

  3. are now currently doing this series called Unpacking the ex

  4. Church Vision Series. Okay, like I said, EX Church is

  5. ready twenty five years old, and sometimes as we grow up,

  6. it's good to get a reminder of who we are

  7. meant to be. Sometimes we may you know, get a

  8. little bit sidetracked, or we may get busy or distracted

  9. with the things of life. And so it's good even

  10. as an adult, right, we get reminded of you know,

  11. our roots, who you know we're already called to be,

  12. and what we're meant to do with our lives.

  13. So same like a church.

  14. We're twenty five years old this year and next year

  15. the theme that God has given us as a church

  16. is called what's the theme.

  17. For next year? Leaders have counting on you?

  18. Re revival, that's right. So every year God gives us

  19. a theme which is a specific direction for the year

  20. for our church. And the theme for this year is

  21. disciple First. Yeah, it's about discipleship, about being disciple and

  22. discipling others.

  23. Now we're going to cross over to next year.

  24. Ready, it's Christmas, right, and so The theme for next

  25. year is.

  26. Going to be revival. Revival.

  27. Now, when I say the word revival, what comes to

  28. your mind? Can I hear an answer from this side?

  29. When I say revival, what comes to your mind? Don't worry,

  30. Just give me the first answer that comes to your mind.

  31. Doesn't have to be a spiritual answer. Okay, this I

  32. get ready here because I'm going to hear from you. Okay,

  33. when I say revival, what do you what comes to

  34. your mind? Come back to life again?

  35. Yeah? Very good, Thank you, Joshua.

  36. Yeah, that's that's one of the definitions of revival, coming

  37. back to life.

  38. Yeah.

  39. I used to be involved with reviving quite a number

  40. of people medically. Okay, So, like any said, I am

  41. a real doctor. I am a legit doctor, okay, not

  42. a quack doctor. And I actually used to work in

  43. hospital Kuala Lumpur, which is just down the road, actually

  44. just a few I think few kilometers was the hospital

  45. that I used to work in. And I used to

  46. be involved in reviving a lot of patients who collapsed.

  47. We have to do CPR, we have to shock them,

  48. inject stuff, break their ribs to bring them back to life.

  49. So I used to be involved with that literally bringing

  50. people back to life.

  51. That was a privilege.

  52. And okay, can I hear this like when I say revival,

  53. what comes to your mind?

  54. Fire? Yes, fire, says the mama on fire.

  55. Oh by the way, Leoni, you guys did an amazing

  56. job on extreme really really felt the presence of God.

  57. Yeah.

  58. For me, a sign of how I feel God's presence

  59. is I start tearing. Yeah. I don't know about you,

  60. but for me, when I start tearing in church, I

  61. know God is here. God is and I really felt

  62. his presence. Thank you, Leona. You know I just want

  63. to just I try a little bit. Singing Christmas carols

  64. can be.

  65. Very very powerful. Okay.

  66. Can I just show a picture of grandparents with grandchildren? Okay,

  67. so I show you just now my husband's picture.

  68. Right.

  69. So, just this week we had a privilege of going

  70. back to Quantan as a family. And so this is

  71. my mom in law, the beautiful lady in the middle

  72. wearing rad together, my father in law, my children, and

  73. my nephew and niece were there as well. Now, my

  74. mom in law, right, she was a pre believer for

  75. many years and what day when her neighbor's house had caroling,

  76. she actually saw angels around her neighbor's house, and at

  77. that point in time she knew Jesus is the real

  78. God and she got safe true Christmas carols. So never

  79. ever underestimate the power of singing carols in or out

  80. of church. In fact, we she's singing out of church

  81. even more the power of worship because it just brings

  82. down God's presence. It brings down God's angels. And my

  83. mom in law saw angels during Christmas caroling at her

  84. neighbor's house and she got safe. And now today she's

  85. on fire. Although if you see my mom in law,

  86. she's like this because there's a problem with her back.

  87. She's bent over, she's leaned sideways. But she's still serving

  88. in church. She's doing what Selena is doing right now.

  89. She's teaching children in church at her age seventy plus.

  90. Like this, that's a life that has experienced God personally,

  91. is revived and continues to serve Him no matter what happens. Yeah,

  92. and so I just wanted to share that as something

  93. to encourage you, the power of caroling, of worshiping, bringing

  94. God's presence, God's angels down to touch and to transform lives. Okay,

  95. now we shall get into the message proper, okay.

  96. So we are like I said, the theme for.

  97. Next year is revival, and so Leona said fire okay,

  98. and I for me, one of the angles of revival

  99. is coming back to the original. So revival can have

  100. many meanings, coming back to life, being on fire for

  101. God and coming back to the original what and who

  102. we are meant to be and do? And so that's

  103. why we are going through this series. It's actually preparing

  104. us for next year to come back to Hey, actually,

  105. who did God call ex church to be a What

  106. did he call us to do? Maybe we are not

  107. sure or we're forgotten or got distracted along the way.

  108. Twenty five years old already as a church. Some of

  109. you are new as well. So it's good that everybody

  110. comes back to the same page so that we can

  111. run forward together as God's Church.

  112. Amen. Amen, So that's why we're doing this. Now. Can

  113. I see those of you who have your book? Can

  114. you wave it to me? Yeah? Okay? Who doesn't have

  115. a book?

  116. Okay?

  117. Please raise? Okay.

  118. Can our host maybe get some of our friends who

  119. do not have a book yet or forgot to bring okay, norries?

  120. Maybe uh do you have the photocopy.

  121. Okay, those who who need to refer to the notes today,

  122. if you already have a book, you can still get

  123. a photocopy from us, so it will help you as well.

  124. So for this series, we need you to bring your

  125. work book every week.

  126. Okay, it will help you. Now.

  127. I believe last week Elder Kenya was here, right, and

  128. he started us off on this series. I'm going to

  129. continue today. I'm the second relay runner. They're going to

  130. be formal relay runners okay in January, yes, I believe. Yeah,

  131. Selena should be one of them. Duel also should be

  132. one of them. So yeah, just just be open to

  133. what God has to say through each of us every week.

  134. All right, Now let's go to the recap. Yeah, okay,

  135. so we as we started this series. Okay, it's called unpacking.

  136. Everybody say, unpacking the vision.

  137. Of ex Church. Yeah, now why do we unpack? Yeah?

  138. We unpacked so that we can understand the vision. But

  139. not only an understand. After we understand, we hope that

  140. all of us can undertake the vision. It's just like

  141. sharing with you a recipe, right, you don't just want

  142. to understand the recipe, you want to actually try it

  143. out so that you can taste good food.

  144. Similar. Okay.

  145. So we don't just want to hte knowledge as we

  146. go through this series. We want to be able to

  147. translate it to our heart, to our hands, to our feet,

  148. to our mouth, to the world around us.

  149. Amen man, Okay. So we unpacked to understand and undertake.

  150. And we also in the last week we learned or

  151. we were we were reminded about the big vision. Everyone

  152. say big vision, big vision, yeah, which is based on

  153. the word of God, not on the word of men.

  154. So if anybody asks you what is ex church vision

  155. based on, you cannot say is based on Pasta Kennov's

  156. word or Selena's word. No it's not. It's based on

  157. God's word and God's word alone.

  158. Okay.

  159. So our big vision is based on Habercook two fourteen

  160. and also Genesis one twenty eight.

  161. Right.

  162. And in these two verses, right, what are the similarities. First,

  163. God wants us to feel the earth and how to

  164. be fruitful and multiply to make disciples and why so

  165. that we can have dominion, not in a bad way,

  166. but in a good way, to have influence for God.

  167. Because if you think about it, when God first made

  168. the heavens and the earth, and God made men without sin.

  169. Everything belonged to God. And then because men and women

  170. were tempted and they sin, they disobey God. Then that's

  171. how sin and the enemy came into the world. And

  172. that's why we have so many issues up to this day.

  173. But we want to take back the world for God

  174. because the world actually rightfully belongs to God. Yeah, and

  175. so that's why we want to have dominion, We want

  176. to have influence as God's people to take back this

  177. world for him is rightfully his right. Okay, now let's

  178. go on. Okay, So in the next line. So in

  179. the last session, I believe, Elder Kenya also shared that

  180. as we unpack issue, leaders to action. Like I said

  181. earlier on right, and you may say, what how do

  182. I think action? Now? I don't know where to start.

  183. I don't know what to do. So Pastor has shared

  184. with us seven ways we.

  185. Can take action.

  186. Yeah, okay, It's just like for example, we say I

  187. want to lose ten kilos, Where do I begin? Do

  188. I start with my diet first? Do I start with

  189. my exercise first?

  190. Where do I begin? Real story? He's kidding, So we

  191. are showing you how to begin?

  192. Ah, all right, just like you wanna lose me, this

  193. is how you want to gain that spiritual wada.

  194. Where do you begin?

  195. So there are seven piece all listed here, and last

  196. week I believe Elder Kenyak covered the first P to

  197. the fifth P and this week we are still going

  198. to be on the fifth P. Then in the coming

  199. weeks we will move on to the last two piece.

  200. So this week we are at prepare everyone say prepare, okay,

  201. all right, now let's move on to the next slide. Okay,

  202. So just now we talk about the big vision, which

  203. is to fill the earth by making disciples so that

  204. we can have dominion. Today we are going to be

  205. focusing on the big mission. Everyone say big mission, yes, okay.

  206. And the big mission of EXTS Church is very simple

  207. into words, make disciples. Turn to your neighbor and say

  208. make disciples.

  209. Okay. Now let's go on to the next light.

  210. When we talk about the vision of wanting to fill

  211. the earth with the knowledge of the glory of God,

  212. it may sound very abstract and very daunting to us. Again,

  213. where do I begin? Right, So we break it down

  214. to something bite size for you. We break it down

  215. to an action step called be fruitful and multiply. If

  216. each of us can be fruitful and multiply, then slowly

  217. we can actually feel the earth with the knowledge of

  218. the glory of God, everyone doing their part. Yeah, but again,

  219. still seems a bit abstract, right, How do I be

  220. fruitful and multiply? Still seems a bit abstract? How many

  221. of you at this point still feels a bit abstract?

  222. Raise your hands, don't worry. Okay, good, good, good. I

  223. just want to know. Yeah, if I was sitting in

  224. your shoes, I will also think. Okay, it still sounds

  225. a bit abstract. So we're gonna break it down even

  226. more so. Being fruitful and multiply can look like three things. Okay,

  227. I'm gonna share with you three things of how being

  228. fruitful and multiply looks like intangible action steps. Okay, Number one,

  229. being fruitful and multiply can look like this making disciples,

  230. Making disciples. And we don't just want to make disciples,

  231. because everyone can do that, you know, raise someone, follow them,

  232. But we want to make disciples that make the difference

  233. for God.

  234. So we want to.

  235. Make disciples, but not just make disciples and followers like

  236. everybody else in the world. Influencers make disciples. CEOs or

  237. big companies make disciples. Politicians make disciples. But we've got

  238. to be careful what kind of disciples are we making.

  239. It's going to be Jesus disciples. So make disciples that

  240. make the difference. If we are a Jesus disciple, confirm

  241. we will make the difference in our world. Everything that

  242. we touch, every path that we walk, every life that

  243. we encounter, will surely not be the same. Again, that

  244. is a mark of a true Jesus disciple. But you

  245. can have disciples of influencers. You can have disciples or CEOs.

  246. You can have disciples or of politicians. May they make

  247. the difference in the world. Not necessarily so, But Jesus

  248. disciple will for sure make the difference.

  249. Wherever we go.

  250. Yeah, God says in Joshua, right, I will give you

  251. every ground that you tread upon. There must always be

  252. transformation in every step that we take as Jesus disciple. Okay,

  253. Now number two, how does being fruitful and multiply look like? It?

  254. Can look like this as well? By producing leaders producing leaders,

  255. So we don't just want to produce disciples who follow

  256. after Jesus and also help others to follow Jesus. We

  257. want these disciples to grow to become leaders. Another word

  258. for leaders is pioneers. What do you understand by the

  259. word pioneer. What does pioneer mean to you? Start something

  260. very good? Start something?

  261. Yes, Because technically, if you are a leader, you lead

  262. the way.

  263. When you start something, you're leading others to follow in

  264. that something new that you're starting, right, So that's why

  265. leaders are pioneers.

  266. Pioneers are leaders.

  267. Okay, And in the last session, I believe, Elder, can

  268. you already said that every one of us can be

  269. a leader, not just people who are trained, who have

  270. a formal title. No, no, no, all of us can

  271. be leaders for God. If we're already influencing someone, that

  272. makes us a leader already.

  273. Yeah. Now, we want to turn.

  274. Every pre believer to be a partner, right, and every

  275. partner to be a pioneer, a leader, and every pioneer

  276. to be a parent.

  277. So what this means in simple.

  278. English is we want to help every pre believer that

  279. comes to ext church get safe and follow Jesus. There

  280. is being a disciple, there is being a partner. But

  281. don't just remain here, grow to become a leader who

  282. helps to draw others closest, lead others closer to Jesus.

  283. Be a pioneer, and then, finally, don't just remain there,

  284. become a parent. A parent basically means someone a leader

  285. who is able to reproduce other leaders, a leader who

  286. is able to reproduce other leaders. If you think about it,

  287. in life, right, many of us go through the natural

  288. life cycle.

  289. We grow up.

  290. We cannot stop growing up, right. Nobody here can say

  291. stop growing up or reverse grow up like Benjamin Button cannot.

  292. But like it or not, we will all grow up. Yeah.

  293. I've just started to see white hair come out.

  294. Oh okay, I take it as style.

  295. Yeah, I can't stop it, right, I can color it,

  296. but it's still going to come out. And so we

  297. can't stop growing up physically, Why then do we stop

  298. growing up spiritually?

  299. We should also grow spiritually. And I see a big

  300. note from Sister Julie. Amen.

  301. Yeah, we've got to also be willing to grow up spiritually.

  302. Don't just remain as a child spiritually forever, God has

  303. meant us to grow as well in our spirit.

  304. Okay, and this is how we can grow Okay.

  305. Now, the next slide still on the second way that

  306. be fruitful and multiply can look like produce leaders. Okay,

  307. so Pasta said, you plan a disciple, you will produce

  308. a leader. It's just that you plan a durant seed,

  309. you will rip a durant fruit. Yeah, you plan a disciple,

  310. you produce a leader. Maybe some of you say, okay,

  311. I want to be a leader for God. I want

  312. to influence others towards Him. Where do I begin? It

  313. starts with you being a disciple first, because we can

  314. never be a leader for God unless we are a

  315. disciple first. If not, it will be the blind leading

  316. the blind. How can I lead others to follow Jesus

  317. when I'm also not following after his man or woman

  318. who is leading me closer to him? Right?

  319. Okay?

  320. So for example, in our church, Pastor knd Of planted

  321. past the Lezras in Botswana many years ago, and today

  322. he is leading our churches in Botswana. Yeah, we've got

  323. tree church plants there already. From one become tree. Passa

  324. Kenna planted pasta Beanji in Osaka and today with ex

  325. Osaka that is growing. Pasta Kenna planted pasta Joel in

  326. Melbourne and today they are also growing. I had a

  327. privilege to visit ex Melbourne just a few months ago

  328. and they are definitely growing.

  329. Yeah. And so Pasta planted different disciples in different parts

  330. of the world, and today they have grown to be

  331. leaders for God's kingdom in their part of the world.

  332. The continent of Africa, country of Japan, Australia.

  333. Yeah, okay, so passes it.

  334. When we plant the seed of a good disciple in

  335. good soil, we get many, many folds, over thirty times,

  336. over one hundred times over. The possibilities are limitless, okay.

  337. So what we get when we plant a disciple as

  338. a seed, the fruit is a leader.

  339. Okay.

  340. So as maybe some of you are already being disciple, create,

  341. continue on and one day you will see the fruit

  342. of leadership.

  343. In your life.

  344. This world needs leadership in the right sense, in God's sense,

  345. because now this world is becoming more crazy as everyone

  346. wants to do their own thing, fight for their own rights.

  347. I don't know.

  348. Now truth has become so great, right has become wrong,

  349. wrong has become right, you know I'm talking about we

  350. need people who will lead men coming back into the

  351. right way, God's way.

  352. And that's why leaders are important.

  353. Yeah, don't shy away from being a leader, because that's

  354. how you are going to bring God's kingdom here on earth.

  355. You say, oh, I want my family member to be safe,

  356. then be his leader in your family. I want my

  357. children to be saved. Be God's leader to them. I

  358. want my marketplace to be safe. Be God's leader in

  359. your marketplace. If you don't lead people to God, who will? Right,

  360. I can be in your marketplace. I can be in

  361. your family, but you are there. So really this is radical.

  362. But we say God, I want to see people around

  363. me safe. Then really the big.

  364. Step of faith towards that is there to be God's

  365. leader wherever you're planted and lead them to Christ. Amen.

  366. Okay, next, okay, number three, how can be fruitful and multiply?

  367. Look light? Yeah?

  368. So it's like, Kayla, I show you. I call it

  369. my mau mau Bible because it has a lot of

  370. mau mau. It's very furrey. I need to fix the

  371. skin soon. It is, but same Bible, but different angles.

  372. Right.

  373. You see the front cover, you see the back cover,

  374. you see the sides. So this is what we're doing

  375. with this point. Okay, same point, different angles.

  376. Right.

  377. So number three, how can we be fruitful and multiply

  378. is to raise and release Daniels Daniels into the marketplace.

  379. Say Daniels, anyone called Daniel here? Not yet?

  380. Not okay, not yet, Leona, No Daniels in your Daniel

  381. laying okay before we joy us kneezing there ready, Okay,

  382. So we again, this is how we can be fruitful

  383. and multiply. Right, we say we want to, you know,

  384. take our marketplace for God. How can we do that

  385. is by being willing to be raised and sent out

  386. as Daniels into our marketplace. People may never step into

  387. a church, people may never encounter our spiritual practices, but

  388. people know you, People encounter you.

  389. So you are the walking Church.

  390. You are walking Christ wherever you are at. And therefore

  391. that's why this is what Daniel became. He became the

  392. walking Church, the walking Christ in his marketplace, which is

  393. in the courtyard of the Kings. Not just one king,

  394. he served four kings, different kingdom somewhere. Yeah, all right,

  395. So we want to be raised and released as Daniels

  396. into our marketplace because we may be the only Jesus

  397. and Church that people will ever.

  398. Encounter in their lives.

  399. Now, God, wants us to folks, So question, wish mountain

  400. or mountains of influence in your life?

  401. Is God leading you to take.

  402. All of us have our mountains of influence wherever we

  403. are at. Choose one mountain, one area of influence in

  404. your life. God is leading you to take now at

  405. this season. Maybe next season is another mountain. Okay, have

  406. a think about it. God wants us to focus on

  407. growing deep roots to produce good fruit. And we say, God,

  408. how do we grow deeper in You? What? Grow deeper

  409. into His word? Into His word? His word really is

  410. our life. Amen, And we want to grow deeper into

  411. His word. Maybe can I just sidetrack here a little bit.

  412. Let's all turn to Psalms chapter one. Okay, this is church,

  413. go to turn to the word of God.

  414. Amen. Amen.

  415. So this is one of my favorite portions of scripture.

  416. Psalms chapter one, verse Okayler, we'll go all the way

  417. from verse one to verse three.

  418. Okay, very cool. Okay, I'm just gonna read it.

  419. Blessed is the man who walks not in the council

  420. of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners,

  421. nor sits in the seat of scoffers.

  422. Verse two. But his delight is in the law.

  423. Of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day

  424. and night.

  425. Verse three.

  426. He is like a tree planted by the streams of water,

  427. that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf

  428. does not whither. In all that he does, he prospers.

  429. Don't you want to be like that in life? We

  430. know that in life all kinds of seasons will come

  431. and go, but we want to remain planted anchered in

  432. the Lord. No matter what season of life you are

  433. going through, even the difficult ones, we want to remain alive.

  434. We want to not just survive, but we want to thrive.

  435. We want to flourish no matter what seasons we go through.

  436. And being dead in a way that last man standing

  437. in whatever season you're going through.

  438. That's going to bring glory to God.

  439. People are going to wonder everyone has died in this season.

  440. How come you're the only tree that is standing. Then

  441. that's how you can introduce them to our God. You

  442. want to know my secret why I'm still alive and

  443. not just alive, but I am driving. When there's a draft,

  444. there's a famine, I am still driving. My leaves are green.

  445. I have plenty of fruits. My secret is because my

  446. roots are upon the world of God. He is my

  447. living water. My roots are deep underneath the ground, even

  448. though the surface looks dry and barren. That's how we're

  449. going to introduce people to our God who keeps us

  450. not just surviving, but driving to the famines of life.

  451. Amen.

  452. Amen, Okay, right, So I just wanted to expound on

  453. this point a little bit more, going why it is

  454. important to go deep into the world. Okay, Now let's

  455. move on to the next slide. So the overall picture,

  456. this is actually like the most important slide. And I

  457. know in our book the is a little bit small,

  458. but for me I actually highlighted because it's important enough.

  459. Right if you forget everything that we say to you,

  460. just remember these tree lines.

  461. What is the vision of ex church?

  462. That is to have dominion over the earth, not in

  463. a bad sense, but in a good sense, to be

  464. His influences.

  465. Okay, and how do we do that? The mission? How

  466. we get there is.

  467. True discipleship, making this disciples and the specific direction is

  468. to be a Daniel in our marketplace, raise and send

  469. out dar nils.

  470. Okay, all right, are we going to move on yep. Okay, cool.

  471. Now let's go on to the next point. Okay, God

  472. doesn't want us just to be EX Church as a branding.

  473. Oh it looks so good, it sounds so good, it

  474. feels so good to be an ex church. But God

  475. wants X to be more than a brand. He wants

  476. us to be a lifestyle. Everybody say, live style lifestyle

  477. you know why. Let's go on to the next slide. Honestly, right,

  478. like I said, not everybody in your circle of influence

  479. will get to step into EX Church. Some of the

  480. people you know may never get to step into X church.

  481. And even if they get to step into X church,

  482. they may not fully understand what we're doing. What is

  483. this worship? How come got bells on the on the

  484. feet when you know?

  485. What is this?

  486. Well? Why this person talks so longer in front of

  487. are you there? Another person talks so longer? What is

  488. this praying? A whit white touch touch one?

  489. Why? Why why white closed eyes one? You ah, they

  490. want my money? Or why? Why you get what I mean?

  491. For a person who is not used to church, they

  492. may not get what we're doing, but you know what

  493. they get. They get it when you are punctual for

  494. your appointment or responsibility, they get it. They get it

  495. when you give your best and you show an excellent

  496. spirit in your studies, in your work, in your labor.

  497. They get it when you are caring to its them,

  498. when you take notice of what they're going through, when

  499. you offer to help them or be patient. They also

  500. get it when you offer to pray for them and

  501. many other things. See you get where I'm going now,

  502. they get our ex off.

  503. All this ects of care, X.

  504. Of service, ecxs of kindness, ex of friendship, et cetera.

  505. And so people may not get Church, people may not

  506. get Christ straight away as well, but people will get

  507. these practical ecxs of dot dot dot. And that's how

  508. we connect with pre believers through these practical acts of

  509. And this was an image and vision that got downloaded

  510. to pass the kind of a few years ago.

  511. And we want to share this with you.

  512. Okay, all right, So next light, So to connect to

  513. to help someone know Christ, the first step is to

  514. connect with him. And to connect is to be able

  515. to make sense even before we make disciples. If we

  516. are not making sense to the world around us, people

  517. won't border about knowing our Jesus, what kind of person

  518. is this? I don't even have common sense in living life.

  519. I don't want to know his God. If his God

  520. was so great, how come this person no common sense?

  521. All right? We don't want that to be the statement

  522. of our lives.

  523. We want people to say, Hey, while this guy is amazing, la,

  524. not only he's amazing, but he's different. He's different from

  525. the rest of the people that I know. I want

  526. to know what's his secret? Okay, So what kind of

  527. sense am I going to make this week? Something for

  528. you to think? Don't just think, ah, put it into action. Okay,

  529. all right, but what kind of sense are we going

  530. to make this week to the people around us who

  531. do not know Jesus yet? It can be a very

  532. simple thing, like I this week, God helped me to

  533. be on time for all my appointments. Maybe there is

  534. a big thing already for us to be on time

  535. for the whole week, you know, not just one day,

  536. two days, the whole week after that, continue on other weeks. Ah,

  537. not easy, not easy to be on time with kl

  538. trafficer and all of you understand, say amen, okay, next one, Okay,

  539. now we're going to move on, right to another part,

  540. which is to review some numbers.

  541. How many of you here are numbers? People give me away?

  542. You love numbers? Oh, Leona, my boy? Okay, tune hong,

  543. Okay here halfway. My flag is half raised. Yeah, I'm

  544. okay with numbers, but not I don't love it that much. Okay,

  545. But numbers are important to God. There's even a book

  546. called numbers in the Bible if you didn't know. Okay,

  547. and God, numbers are important. The Trinity is a number, right,

  548. three Okay, So let's read this together from haber Cook

  549. two to two one two three. Then the Lord answered

  550. me and said, write the vision and make it plain

  551. on tablets that he may run.

  552. Who reads it? Haber Cook two two.

  553. See. Even God himself says that it's not enough to

  554. know the vision, you know, to make it clear to everyone.

  555. But we've got to put it into action. We've got

  556. two run with it. And that's what we hope for

  557. you to do. Even through this series. You'll be so clear,

  558. so convicted, you can't help but to start running. You know,

  559. like kidser, you feed them a lot sugar, right, they

  560. get sugar higher, they cannot control themselves, but they start running. Okay,

  561. so yeah, we're trying to feed your spiritual sugar here,

  562. so you can't help, but your spiritual feed are going

  563. to start running.

  564. Running for Jesus in the right way. Amen, Amen. Okay.

  565. Now next, like now, okay, I have two sets of

  566. numbers to share with you today.

  567. One is two digit. One is for digit.

  568. Don't go and buy four D after DESA Okay. The

  569. first set of numbers, which is two digit, is the

  570. number ten. Everyone say ten, okay, so hy ten? Now

  571. when pastors shared this unpacking series, right, he actually did

  572. it in twenty twenty one January online during the MCO

  573. and so at that point in time, it is still

  574. the beginning of this decade twenty twenty one, So passes

  575. it the focus for ex Church for the next ten years.

  576. That mean saying from twenty twenty one all the way

  577. to twenty thirty.

  578. Is this.

  579. Now if you see X Church now is twenty five

  580. years old. The first twenty years of ex Church. God

  581. called us to be a Joseph church. So when you

  582. think of Joseph, you think of the famine and how

  583. he built storehouses to feed those who needed food. The

  584. storehouse is God's house. So when we are called to

  585. be a Joseph church. God spent the first twenty years

  586. building us up as his storehouse. But that's not enough

  587. because God never meant for us to just get comfortable

  588. in being his storehouse. That's where we crossed over into

  589. the second twenty years to be a Daniel church. Why

  590. do we store up so much so that we can

  591. feed others who need the food of God Right now?

  592. In twenty fifteen, God gave called us to be a

  593. Hezekiah church. If you know the story of King Hezekiah,

  594. he was one of the pretty good kings of the

  595. Kingdom of Judah, and he felt very sick. He was

  596. almost going to die, and then he pleaded with God,

  597. and God at mercy, God sped his life and say, Hezekiah,

  598. I will add fifteen more years to your life. But

  599. in these fifteen years, you have to do what I say,

  600. which is to set your house in order. So in

  601. twenty fifteen, if we are called to be a Hazarkaiah church,

  602. that means the next checkpoint is actually fifteen years later,

  603. which is twenty thirty.

  604. Okay, just hold that thought.

  605. And then in twenty eighteen, God called us to be

  606. a Nihi Maya church. Now, don't get confuser, Like I said,

  607. all the same thing, the same direction that God wants

  608. to get us, but we're looking at different angles. So

  609. one angers be a Daniel church. Another angle is be

  610. a Hezekiah church. Another anger is be a Nihi Maya church.

  611. Same direction God is leading us, just different.

  612. Angles of getting there. Okay.

  613. So in twenty eighteen, God say be a nehi Maya church.

  614. So Nehi Maya existed after King Hezekiah, after the children

  615. of Israel was sent into exile, and they returned back

  616. to Jerusalem, and they had to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem,

  617. rebuild their gates, rebuild their identity as a nation. And

  618. so from twenty eighteen, and they took twelve years to

  619. rebuild the wall. So if in twenty eighteen God calls

  620. to be a nihi Maya church, our next checkpoint falls

  621. in the same year, twenty thirty.

  622. Okay, Now let's go on to the next line. Okay.

  623. So ten At that point in time, Pastor also drew

  624. from the story of Daniel.

  625. Daniel and his friends.

  626. Were carried away into exile to the King of Babylon's palace,

  627. and he wanted to make them his mighty men and

  628. feed them all kinds of meat, all kinds of maybe alcohol,

  629. and different delicacies. But Daniel and his friends, being God's people,

  630. said no, we will not partic the diet of the world.

  631. We will keep to our diet, which is God's diet.

  632. So they only took vegetables and water. And then they

  633. said test us for ten days, and see after ten

  634. days how we perform. If you think we did not perform, well,

  635. then we will eat your diet. But if you think

  636. we perform better than the men who eat your diet,

  637. let us continue in our diet for the next three years.

  638. How many of you hear are on water and vegetables,

  639. Now give me a wave, anyone and anyone, okay, maybe

  640. once in a while you're on water and vegetables, give

  641. me a wave fasting period maybe. So ten days they

  642. did that, and they came out buffer, stronger, better than

  643. the king's men. And so ten days in the story

  644. of Daniel equals ten years for ex Church. So from

  645. twenty twenty one all the way to twenty thirty is

  646. ten years.

  647. Yeah.

  648. So in these ten years, God wants us to set

  649. our house in order. That's why we're also doing this

  650. series because we're getting everyone on the same page. This

  651. is part of setting our house in order.

  652. Next night I thought we have sorry, let me see.

  653. Okay now minds.

  654. But in your book, if you can turn to page fifteen,

  655. page fifteen, okay, there are more points there. So not

  656. just to set our house in order, but to rebuild

  657. our identity as a church. Yeah, and God wants to

  658. strengthen and make us ready just like Daniel and his friends. Okay,

  659. we're gonna move on to the next line. This is

  660. the second set of numbers, which I told you is

  661. for digits one thousand. We start with one thousand first, okay,

  662. times one thousand. Now, how many of you were here

  663. before twenty ten? Can I see a wave?

  664. Sign me? Wow? Long time? Kenny, yes, Leonard for sure

  665. before twenty ten. Maybe not yet. Eddie, so not yet,

  666. Kelvin twenty ten? Which month? Okay?

  667. Okay, So you're part of this. So those of us

  668. who have been around twenty ten and before that, you

  669. would have remembered that as a church, we wanted to

  670. buy a big building and it was literally called Lord

  671. number ten because the number is really number ten on

  672. the Jarlant and it was a big factory bungalow lot

  673. with land all around, and then got caught back next

  674. to it some more double story. Yeah, some of us

  675. remember cleaning it so much does and then cutting the

  676. la lung. Yeah, preparing for the groundbreaking ceremony which was

  677. on ten ten ten, Lord number ten on the tenth

  678. of October twenty ten, ten ten ten ten, Wake you

  679. out of it? Okay, so definitely very significant. Some of

  680. us were part of that, that journey of church ex

  681. church trying to buy our own building. Now we raised

  682. up I think, yeah, a lot Manila, two over a

  683. million for the earnest deposit, and we gave unto the Lord.

  684. But God knew better. He didn't want us to just

  685. have one big building and stay comfortable there. So God

  686. allowed us to actually lose the building. It's a long

  687. story for another day, but God actually allowed us to

  688. lose the building.

  689. Yeah.

  690. So maybe some of you you feel that you strive

  691. so hard in your life to get something that you

  692. really want, only to come to a point that you

  693. lose it. Don't be discouraged, don't be disheartened, because maybe

  694. that is not God's best for you. What we think

  695. is our best may not be God's best for us.

  696. He has the best in store. So I don't know

  697. who I'm speaking to here, but if you feel like

  698. you've lost the very thing that you strive for in

  699. your life, know that that is not the end with God.

  700. Because maybe that wasn't God's best for you. God has

  701. his best for you waiting, right, And so the building

  702. Lot ten wasn't God's best for us. He knew maybe,

  703. how I mean, what would happen to us if you

  704. really got the building? So he allowed us to lose it,

  705. and it was a very difficult period for us as

  706. a church. If you remember Pastor Kennav he actually shared

  707. he almost wanted to give up being pastor of ex

  708. church and he wanted to maybe try and go into

  709. the marketplace and earn back all the money that people

  710. gave to pay back everyone.

  711. That was how how I guess how bad you felt.

  712. But all the way Pastor has been listening to God's voice,

  713. even after the point of losing the building, and after that,

  714. our pastor has always been listening to God's voice. So

  715. it was not a mistake God allowed to happen. And so,

  716. but what came out of it? Turn to your neighbor

  717. and say you came out of it, and I'm serious.

  718. Turn to another neighbors, say you came out of it.

  719. I know it.

  720. You're a bit skeptical. How did we come out of

  721. a building that was lost? You want to know how?

  722. It's because we lost Lot ten that today we have

  723. x Unbunk. Today, we have X cyber Jaya. Today we

  724. have close to fifty X plants locally and globally. If

  725. we did not lose Lot ten, you and I will

  726. not be here today on the twelve of eleven of No,

  727. it's not eleven fourteen. Oh gosh, I'm looking at the

  728. time fourteenth of December. If God did not allow us

  729. to lose that one big building, we will all still

  730. be stuck there and we will not have church plans

  731. all over where.

  732. So many more people get blessed? How many of you?

  733. Honestly, if church was really in Lo ten, Glenn Marie,

  734. near Subang area, you'll be there, be far right. Yeah,

  735. So aren't you glad the exambunk is here nearer to

  736. where you are at a and so many more people

  737. get to rise up? Yeah? Okay, now next point, Okay,

  738. So what was a disappointment was an appointment by God.

  739. Next light. The building was lost, but we found our vision.

  740. God said, don't build a cat treed cathedral for me,

  741. but spread out. Okay, next light. Now, if Pastor Kenneth

  742. could be used by God to build a church of

  743. one thousand people, yes, today we are more than one

  744. thousand people. What makes us think that God cannot use

  745. you and I to build another one thousand more people?

  746. Each person? Pastor himself acknowledged, I am not an extraordinary person.

  747. I am ordinary, just like every one of you passes

  748. it that any sharing.

  749. I am an ordinary man. But we've got He makes

  750. it extraordinary. And if He can use me past the

  751. say one person to build one thousand people, he can

  752. use you too, each to build one thousand people. Do

  753. you believe that? Turn to your neighbors, say God can

  754. use you. Turn to the other neighbors, say God can

  755. use me. I know it sounds very dawnting, but today

  756. I'm going to press me in a wild cloth in prayer.

  757. We're going to pray that God will really help us

  758. to believe believe that it's possible.

  759. For God to use you and I.

  760. Okay, now, so we dream that God will use every

  761. person in ext church. Okay, next line, the one thousand

  762. that we already have. We are part of that one thousand.

  763. You and I here are part of the initial deposit.

  764. We are the deposit of one thousand. Those of you

  765. who are good with investments, how can we multiply us

  766. the one thousand deposit two more returns? This is the

  767. Julius big not there. Sorry, I'm not rare numbers and

  768. investment person. I'm trying my invest but you get it now.

  769. Okay.

  770. So the one thousand that we already have cannot just

  771. remain as they are the one thousand lives, right, but

  772. they are to be made disciples leaders. And finally, Daniel

  773. I shared this earlier on that will be sent out

  774. to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory

  775. of the Lord. Here, I want to just pause us

  776. for a while. Can we turn to Hosea sixty six.

  777. This is something extra, but I thought I want to share.

  778. With us Josea sixty six.

  779. Okay, I give us a while to find Josea is

  780. read after the book of Daniel. Okay, are we at

  781. Josea sixty six?

  782. Very cool? Okay, So I'm going to read it for us.

  783. It says this is what God says a true the

  784. prophet Josea, for I desire state fast love and not

  785. sacrifice the knowledge of God rather than burn offerings. For

  786. I desire stay fast love and not sacrifice the knowledge

  787. of God rather than burn offerings. This was a particular

  788. scripture that I read during my quiet time this week,

  789. and it really spoke to me because some of us

  790. wonder why why must fill the earth with the knowledge

  791. of the glory of God. I know haveber cook Tool

  792. says that I know. Pastor Kenno says that I know.

  793. Extra says that, but why are why are whia? This

  794. is God himself answering because I desire state fast love

  795. and not sacrifice the knowledge of God rather than burn

  796. off rings. This is what God really wants. And those

  797. of us who are in any form of relationship, whether

  798. it's family, friends, romantic, whatever you name it work. We

  799. want people to really know us for who we are right,

  800. not just assume who we are or have a wrong

  801. perception of who we are.

  802. You think about it.

  803. In every genuine, healthy relationship, we will always want the

  804. other party to really know us as well who we

  805. really are, and accept us as who we really are

  806. and love us as who we really are. And God

  807. is the creator of relationships. He too desires to be known.

  808. He too desires to be loved. What you're feeling with

  809. another human, God also desires it, and that's why we

  810. are made in His image. So now can you see

  811. why God wants the earth to be filled with the

  812. knowledge of the glory of God is because He desires

  813. a genuine relationship with all of us.

  814. Amen.

  815. So I just wanted to add that to us. Okay, okay,

  816. we're gonna move on now. So next line. So yeah, okay,

  817. so we already have the first one thousand, which is

  818. you and I turn to your neighbor and say you

  819. and I. Yeah, God will do the reckulous with the

  820. other one thousand that are yet to be in His

  821. house and kingdom. But our part now is to focus

  822. on what we have, the one thousand that we have,

  823. which is you and I. Leave the next one thousand

  824. to God right next, Like, okay, so here again, Pastor

  825. reminded us the bottom line of discipleship is to follow

  826. me as I follow Christ. You have follow the leader

  827. that God has placed in your life as he or

  828. she follows Christ. Next, it's like, now, this one thousand, okay,

  829. times one thousand. Pastor actually cautioned us, don't get hung

  830. up on the number one thousand times one thousand. I

  831. know for us, Sir, I don't know about different ethnicities,

  832. but for us Chinese, well, are we really calmed down

  833. to the number the that simil the DoD one, you know,

  834. if it's really fifty nine point nine nine cents or

  835. this producta please give me back by one cent if

  836. I give you sixty ring it. Yeah, so we mean

  837. Asian Asian background archers. We come from a tough background, right,

  838. every sven counts. But don't get hung up or the numbers.

  839. It's not about the numbers. Tell yourself, it's not about

  840. the numbers. Tell yourself. It's about the spirit. So this

  841. one thousand times one thousand. Yeah, if we hit the numbers,

  842. great bonus. But it's not about the numbers. It's about

  843. the spirit. Pastor wants us to have. This spirit of

  844. keep going. One thousand times one thousand can be summarized

  845. in the spirit of keep going, just keep going, and

  846. we will hit that one thousand by one thousand, okay,

  847. And how do we keep going? Keep going in making disciples,

  848. keep going in planting churches. We never stopped. Keep going

  849. and producing leaders, keep going and producing daniels and sending

  850. them out. Keep keep keep going, don't stop. Pastor Kennov

  851. at his age over fifty, he planted x kotacker mooning.

  852. Someone would think at his level he should just sit back,

  853. relaxed and monitor all his startups. That's what a lot

  854. of the worldly CEOs do. Right. We SEEO Wi come

  855. down and be a executive officer all over again. No way,

  856. but Pasta Kennov, that's what he did founding senior Pastor

  857. came down to the ground, got his hands dirty, planted

  858. x kotucker mooning a few years ago, and he's still

  859. constantly planting churches around the world.

  860. He keeps going.

  861. And I think that's a great example that our pastor set,

  862. even at his senior level, at his age. You see

  863. now he's got a lot of white hair, so he

  864. still keeps going. With his foot limping, he still keeps going.

  865. And if our pastor can do that, let's also do it.

  866. Let's keep going. Okay, all right, next slide. Okay, yeah,

  867. So what at that point in time in twenty twenty one,

  868. pastors the vision that God gave Pastor was to see

  869. ten thousand disciples in ten years, and so it's almost

  870. equating to one thousand new believers and disciples every year.

  871. And we want it to be really new.

  872. Souls, not just church transfers that they We were having

  873. a conversation I think in TSBO with Elder ping Hole,

  874. and he was just highlighting to us that the Church

  875. of Malaysia right actually hasn't grown in percentage in the

  876. last ten years. We are still about ten percent thereabouts

  877. the general population of Malaysia. But then you look left

  878. right center, it's so many new churches popping up, and

  879. you wonder who's feeling the churches. Many times it's church transfers.

  880. But we want new souls, friends, We don't just want

  881. church transfers.

  882. We want new souls. Everyone'say, new souls.

  883. Okay. Now, so as we draw to a close, extreme

  884. can come up ready. Sorry if I've taken a little

  885. bit of time, but because this is teaching, I want

  886. you to really get as much as you can. And

  887. we're drawing to a close already. Okay, So after all

  888. that we talked about Daniels, we talk about numbers. What

  889. is our take home point? What is that practical action

  890. step to take home? This is it focus on what

  891. we already have. Okay, let's go to the next line.

  892. Let's focus with our own lives first, because we are

  893. part of the initial one thousand. And let's focus on

  894. the people that God has given us because they are

  895. also part of the initial one thousand. The people that

  896. we know in church that are not disciples yet could

  897. be your homie, could be your The people that yourself

  898. in the same dream team could be your friend, same

  899. church plan, lunch kaki, pick up a kaki, but you

  900. get it. Let's focus with the one thousand that we

  901. have first, which is you and I.

  902. We talk about ourselves we disciple yet?

  903. If not yet, then can we say yes to discipleship

  904. this year? Us pray, pray that God will lead us

  905. to the right person to disciple us. God is God

  906. cares who disciples you, just like how he cares who

  907. is your life partner. He cares which company you work in.

  908. If God can care for all that are, don't tell

  909. me he won't care for who disciples us. He will

  910. trust him. It will be the right fit, the right fit,

  911. maybe not the perfect fit, but the right fit. Because

  912. what we need is not comfort. What we need is

  913. the right thing in life. Many times we look for

  914. that perfect fit because we want to feel comfortable with

  915. that person. That person takes all our checklists. But maybe

  916. that person is not the right fit for us, Like

  917. a parent, right. A parent may not always feel comfortable

  918. to a child, but it's the right person to raise

  919. up a child. So if you're worried, God, Yes, I

  920. want to be discipled, but I'm so worried.

  921. Who will disciple me? Will it be the right person? Pray?

  922. Trust God that he will lead both of you to

  923. each other. Okay, if you can do it for your life, partner,

  924. he can do it for your school, your work, what

  925. more can you not do it for his church? Yeah? Amen,

  926. so that's us. If we are already being discipled, then okay, God,

  927. how can I grow in my disciple ship walk? And

  928. how can I now disciple others? If that's what? Something

  929. for those of us who are being discipled to think about.

  930. So first is are we being discipled?

  931. Not yet?

  932. Let's say yes in faith? If we're already disciples, are

  933. we discipling someone? If not yet, let's say yes in

  934. faith as well, And then pray, and then God will

  935. lead you to the right person to disciple as well. Okay,

  936. so that's one taking stock of who we have right

  937. So like what passes say, we are tiding this first

  938. one thousand to him. We're saying, Lord, take me, I

  939. want to become your disciple. Take the person next to me,

  940. make them your disciple. To take us this one thousand

  941. that we have.

  942. Take us.

  943. We tie ourselves to you so that you can multiply

  944. us to reach the many more thousands that you want

  945. us to reach. Okay, So this is the end of

  946. today's So again the questions that I believe is in

  947. our book as well. Let me double check, yes there is.

  948. These are the three action steps. When you go back

  949. in your quiet time, I encourage you to actually go

  950. through these three questions. Who has got given to us

  951. in our influence in church? And why do you think

  952. He's given them to us? Not a mistake? God never

  953. makes mistakes. And what is the best that we can do.

  954. To bring out the best in that person? So even

  955. for me, this is a good heart check.

  956. You know, I personally disciple about ten ladies of different

  957. seasons of life. Some are younger than me, some are

  958. my peers, some are older than me. But discipleship is

  959. not about physical age. It's not even about intellectual age.

  960. It's about spiritual maturity. And so sometimes, you know, not

  961. all my relationship with the ten ladies are all equal,

  962. all nice.

  963. Nice, nice, nice, nice nice.

  964. Sometimes different seasons, some ladies can be a bit challenging

  965. to disciple. Like children, Naha, not all the same. Yeah,

  966. there will be days and seasons. And so even as

  967. we're going through this series, I feel challenged in my

  968. relationship with one of my ladies. I think she's also

  969. going to her own season. And then it's a good

  970. hard check for me, like why has God given me

  971. this particular lady? God did not make any mistake, and

  972. how can I bring out the best in her? So

  973. I'm also trying to apply what I preach, and I

  974. share this with you in all honesty so that you

  975. too will be encouraged to apply God's word in our lives.

  976. So go back, pray with God. Who has God given

  977. each of you? And what can you do to bring

  978. out the best in them? So now I'm asking out God. Yes,

  979. it's a been challenging to disciple this particular lady at

  980. this point in time because she's going through stuff. But Lord,

  981. show me, show me, help me how to bring out

  982. the best in her. Because you gave her to me.

  983. You made no mistake. You made no mistake.

  984. So Lord, help me to be a good steward, to

  985. steward this life. Well helped me. I can't do it

  986. on my own.
