You're listening to a message to go from ex church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Matthew, chapter nineteen, and we're reading verse sixteen. Now be whole.
-
One came and said to him, good teacher, what good
-
thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?
-
So Jesus said to him, why do you call me good?
-
Because no one is good but one that is God.
-
But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
-
So Jesus saying, are you calling me good? Because then
-
you're calling me God. See that's why he says, do
-
you know who you're talking to? You? Actually, if you
-
call me good, then I'm God. But he wasn't aware
-
of that. So he says, if you want to enter
-
into eternal life, keep the commandments. And so this young
-
man said, which ones Jesus said, Well, you shall not murder,
-
you shall not commit a you shall not steal, you
-
shall not bear false witness, and honor your father and mother.
-
And you shall love your neighbor as yourself. And the
-
young man said to him. In the Matthew nine, verse twenty,
-
it says the young man. It was a young man,
-
and he said all these things. I have kept from
-
my youth? What do I steal lack? Why is this
-
young man asking? Why is he saying? What do I
-
still lack? I've kept all these commandments and this, and
-
there's this hunger? He says, what do I still lack?
-
And Jesus said to him, if you want to be perfect,
-
go sell what you have and give it to the poor,
-
and you will have treasure in heaven. And come follow me.
-
And but then the young man heard that, saying man,
-
he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. He
-
was sorrowful after the one who is good. And if
-
you call him good, he's go. God tells you, hey,
-
come follow me, Sell everything and follow me. And he
-
went like, shucks, I can't. He went away sorrowful. He
-
came in very hopeful, but he went off sorrowful. Now
-
look at Mark chapter ten. Let's reference to the same
-
passage in the book of Mark chapter ten. If you
-
look at some verses here. So in verse sixteen of Matthew,
-
he says, one came. Behold, one came to him and said,
-
good teacher, what good things shall I do? In Mark
-
chapter ten, if you look at verse seventeen, Mark chapter ten,
-
verse seventeen, it says, now Jesus was going out on
-
the road, and one came running and knelt before him
-
and asked him, good teacher, what shall I do that
-
I may inherit eternal life. So this is how you
-
do a Bible study. You reference all the scripture, the context.
-
And so in Mark he says he came running, and
-
he actually he knelt down and said, good teacher, And
-
he said what might I do? And Jesus told him
-
what he needs to do. And then he said. In
-
verse twenty of Mark chapter ten, he says, teacher, all
-
these things, all the commandments I have kept from my youth.
-
So he really is a very conscious, very godly I
-
suppose you know, he's aware. He's very self aware of
-
him following the commandments of the Lord. And so he says,
-
I've kept them from my youth. And then verse twenty
-
one in Mark chapter ten, verse twenty one, then Jesus,
-
looking at him, loved him, loved him and said to him,
-
one thing you lack, go your way, Sell whatever you have,
-
give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.
-
And come take up the cross, the cross and follow me.
-
Wow a little bit more depth to the Matthew nineteen
-
verse that this young man came running. There was an eagerness.
-
I wonder how many of us will come running to Jesus,
-
come running, you know, to the Lord with eagerness. And
-
this young man came to the Lord with such eagerness
-
to want to know how to have eternal life. The
-
fact that he came is because he must have heard
-
the message of Jesus prior from different people or you know,
-
the news travels through the great buying no handphones, but
-
I don't know how messages get through and the news
-
of Bethlehem. Maybe the newspaper in Bethlehem News, Bethlehem News.
-
Jesus tells us that eternal life comes through. Okay, So
-
now he gets a chance to see Jesus. So you
-
gotta put a picture, have a bit of drama in
-
the reading of scripture, so that you identify with this
-
young man. Is anyone here who's hungry and just desiring
-
to have eternal life to walk with Jesus?
-
We come running? Do we come running to Jesus?
-
And you know, kneeling down before him, so humble, So
-
humble was his heart that he was so ready to
-
receive that answer. But we all read at the end
-
when Jesus said one, because in mat Matthew he says,
-
what do I still lack? I've kept all of this
-
like I'm good, you know, And then Jesus is, well,
-
what you lack is you need to sell everything, give
-
it to the poor, Take up the cross, Take up
-
the cross, and follow me? Which was he suffering with?
-
What was he struggling? Take up the cross? Follow me?
-
Or sell all your goods? Okay, all right? So which
-
was he struggling with? So my topic for today is
-
who or what possessed you? Or what possesses you? Who
-
or what possesses you? All right? So as we close
-
the year, we want to just even reflect what it
-
has been like a year. As I reflect, what have I?
-
What has possessed me? Has Jesus fully got a hold
-
of me? Did I withhold anything from the Lord? So
-
we have this story. So let me take you through
-
the verses and then let's identify. Let's identify with the
-
whole message here. Okay, yeah, okay, there was one rich
-
young ruler. He came running, So let's note and yeah
-
he came running running tells you that there is an eagerness.
-
There is a I've been searching, and he searched. He
-
was really wanting to hear from Jesus. His next question
-
was what good thing shall I do that I may
-
have eternal life? He even asked, you know, what is
-
that that I can do to gain eternal life? And
-
Jesus then tells him next script, next slide, Jesus tells
-
him to obey the sixth, the seventh, the eighth, the ninth,
-
and the fifth commandment. Wow, all right, he just didn't
-
go back up, you know, to the This is the Lord,
-
your god, worship.
-
Him and no other god.
-
He all of these involves people. Are you doing all
-
of this? So he says, yes, he must be such
-
a righteous young man that he's never stolen, he's never
-
covered to her. You know, he's never committed murder, et.
-
Cetera, et cetera, and he's he.
-
Never bare a false witness. He's honored his father and mother,
-
and say, I have kept all of these. So there
-
you have a young man who really has it all
-
together once to have eternal life.
-
And then he asked the question. In Matthew nineteen twenty,
-
he had.
-
The he had the depth to say so I've kept it,
-
So come on, Jesus, tell me, he says, what do
-
I still like? Your s of usn't gotta search? What
-
do we still lack? What are we lacking that if
-
you are not where in a place where you say
-
I'm living the fullness, if you're not living the fullness
-
that Christ has promised us, you know, to live life
-
and life abundantly, then what is it that I'm lacking?
-
And so Jesus then looks at him with love. Even
-
when he said I can't, Jesus still loved him. Amen,
-
do I amen? Come on, hallelujah. Hey, Jesus still loved him.
-
Jesus looked at him and loved him. Mark Chapter ten.
-
That's that's the that's like a you know, extra information
-
there that says loved him, loved him. God loves us.
-
He loved him and said, do this and then take
-
up the cross. Follow me. Amen. So he went away
-
sad and sorrowful. Because you know, it says that he
-
had great possessions. Perhaps some people say it wasn't that
-
he had great possessions. Great possessions had him more like
-
the possessions held him than he had. Because if you have,
-
you have the choice to give it away. Right. But
-
when something else is taken or holding you like this,
-
then you cannot let you cannot move Ah, because if
-
he had, he could have every right to give it away. Right.
-
So my question we could ask, We could ask ourselves
-
what was it there was hindering him? And this brings
-
us to the whole issue of discipleship, because I speak
-
firstly to believers in the room, speak to myself. A
-
disciple of Christ is one who follows Christ, not only
-
follows Christ.
-
If he you know, he.
-
Does whatever that Christ tells you to do. So this
-
is where we get to reflect the bit as the
-
year closes. If I'm a disciple of Christ, have I
-
been doing you know? Have I been living my life
-
as the Lord has led me to live this year?
-
As I have I been following him? Yeah? And when
-
the Lord said go go or give or don't go
-
or reach you know, you know, do this or do
-
that things that already written in His word? Have we
-
done what is in the world? Now?
-
You can only do what is in the word of God.
-
If you have been reading the Word of God, and
-
in other times you're praying about decision making, Should I
-
do this? Lord is this the one is this? It
-
is this the job da da da, and the Lord
-
leads you. Then you cannot say you can't hear, because
-
the Bible tells us in John chapter fIF John chapter
-
fifteen that the that the sheep hear his voice. John
-
chapter ten, that the sheep here his voice. Are we sheep? Yes,
-
don't say you're not. We ain't Gold's right, but we
-
do want to be. But yeah, we we sheep right
-
with God's sheep, and we hear his voice. They recognize
-
and it takes time to recognize. So every time you
-
do your quiet time, you every time you spend time
-
with God, you recognize. So really, I would like to
-
look at the angle of this message or this passage
-
of study. As he was already in the family, so yeah,
-
he's in the he's a jew, right, so he knew
-
all the commandments, but still lacked war, still lacking. So
-
I like to turn this to look at in a
-
way the angle of a disciple. We should we already
-
are hearing, but yeah, what are we lacking? All right?
-
Can we say? You know there's a song we sing.
-
I am not my own. I've been bought by a price.
-
The price is by the blood of Jesus Christ. So
-
Jesus gave his life for us, not with silver and gold,
-
but by the blood, his own blood. He has shed
-
his blood for us. It's not silver and gold. He
-
could have just given a few silver and gold and
-
send Joel or whatever to die for you. But he didn't,
-
Thank God, right, he went himself for us.
-
So silver and gold is not what he did. He
-
gave himself.
-
So now that we come to Christ and we're walking
-
with Christ, we're really not our own. But we've been
-
bought by the blood of Christ. And so who do
-
you belong to? You belong to Jesus. So I'm coming
-
from this angle. If we belong to Jesus, then our
-
very life's path is led by the Lord every step
-
of the way. Amen, hallelujah. So we choose not of
-
our own choices, but of the choice that the Lord,
-
or of the leading that the Lord leads us. So
-
we still have a choice to say yes Lord or
-
no Lord, and still do our own thing. Because if
-
we call our Jesus our master, then of course I
-
want him to direct my life. Now this whole passage,
-
a lot of people will say, is Jesus talking he's
-
the main point Jesus talking about money and riches. No, lie,
-
he's not so squarela okay, No, sue bet dealer. It's
-
not about the money. It's not that money is bad
-
or that this rich oh he doesn't like rich people. No,
-
the whole point of the message is about your obedience,
-
our salvation. Obedience leads to salvation, and that's even more precious.
-
Your faith is so precious. That is the very thing
-
that Satan wants to come against, to rob us of
-
our faith and to turn our backs on God and
-
then laugh at God's face and say.
-
Huh, you bite the dust.
-
No, we cannot let Satan rob our faith because our
-
faith is so precious. Jesus went to the cross for this,
-
went for us. Amen.
-
He came to sit among us in darkness to give
-
us light.
-
Allelujah. Amen. Are we grateful? Thankful? Yes? So this young
-
ruler I wanted eternal life, but something else was holding
-
him that he couldn't break free. Yet it was within
-
his power his choice to do it. So the question
-
I want to ask us, including myself, what can hinder us?
-
What can hinder us? So we have three piece PPPP
-
A person or persons a place or possession. Right, these
-
are things that can hinder us person, place, possession. So
-
I want us to think about this. Is there anything
-
in your life that's actually hindering you in this category that.
-
You're not really able to live.
-
The fullness of Christ that God has for you?
-
Amen? Amen, the fullness.
-
And it could be very very subtle, very very subtle,
-
because a young man and everything he did, everything so subtle.
-
He was really abiding young man who was hungry. And
-
I think, you know, every time I talk to people,
-
they'll tell me I really want to do my quiet time,
-
but it's so difficult. Or someone will tell me and
-
I talk to the old and the older aunties my
-
age older than me, and he's like, I really want
-
to read the Bible, but yeah, we're hard to get startled,
-
we're hard to keep going. Then I say, how do
-
you read your Bible? Can you actually read without specs?
-
And so a lot of them can't. They just don't
-
want to have four eyes. So they'd make the handphone bigger, bigger.
-
But when you make your handphone bigger bigger, you you
-
really can't read well because you don't know the start
-
the end. Now you don't know the chapter before because
-
it's a handphone. But at home you don't have to
-
bring now killer, I used to bring my bible to church.
-
I still do. But you everybody used to bring a bible,
-
right and then you turn the pages and you really
-
the richness of turning pages and learning chapters and you know.
-
Versus so speaking to this lady sixty blast, and she said,
-
every time I read a Bible fall asleep. I think
-
the print is very small. Yes, maybe it's a free
-
Bible or something. So I just bought her a lot
-
of it was very expensive, but I bought a super giant.
-
Words very big. I can't read without spects now loud. Okay,
-
this super giant I still cannot see without my spec
-
but he's super giant. So I thought, oh, but what
-
was really heavy? So I bought the one that's giant.
-
Didn't give it a super giant because I wanted to care.
-
So I gave her a giant by I just bought it,
-
and I said, I said, I mean, for whatever reason
-
I bought it, I wanted to bless her, I hope,
-
and you have the time, take time to read it.
-
It's big, big letters. She wrote back to me yesterday
-
and she said, I will make time to read or
-
I appreciate us because in reading you get to follow Jesus,
-
you get to you know, hear his word, you get
-
to not be hindered. So I just want to say,
-
how how can we be hindered? There's so many things.
-
It could be a person, a place, possession, you know,
-
a place, some of us, some people maybe not people
-
in this room. You just want to leave Malaysia. You
-
just want to leave Malaysia, and you just want to
-
be working somewhere else because somewhere else is better. And
-
so that place becomes a hindrance to you, and you're like,
-
ayah and good for nothing, Malaysia, Please not, God, send
-
me somewhere else. And then you know, yes, the Lord
-
saying no, maybe the last thing. Start here and then
-
see what happens from there. Is it a place? Is
-
it a house that you're looking for? Is it something
-
a place, a city, a country, of this office, this place?
-
You know, can it hinder you just such arts? Yeah,
-
I'm so bold to say that because doing this ministry
-
for so long, walking my own journey, being naughty. I
-
know sometimes it's that place I remember when I was
-
a young adul just coming out of the world. I
-
just say, Lord, please don't leave me here in this country. Yeah,
-
I want to marry.
-
Someone else from another country, then I.
-
Can leave this country. What was I thinking? Ah? I said,
-
he send him in the country and fly me out.
-
You know, God has a beautiful plan for me, right,
-
I can't see yet, by I know he is, But
-
I'm saying to the Lord, I can't see anyone my
-
church boring, Okay, So please send somebody in and fly
-
me out. Not everything you get means it's God. You
-
got to test it. And so someone did come in
-
and wanted to fly me out, and I would be
-
living elsewhere and I wouldn't be here because it was something.
-
I mean, it's a Malaysia for living overseas and probably
-
whenever come out to Malaysia. Came met me for five hours.
-
He had lunch with me, and he said, I want
-
to marry you can okay? Thing five hours lunch, I
-
impressed someone so much, you my girl. So I'm like,
-
could this be the one that will come and fly
-
me out? Right? Woh?
-
So I got to know the person. I flew over
-
to the family place with the.
-
Parents, went for the graduation and everything. I'll tell you,
-
my face is on every family photo.
-
As you know, I'm not married to that person. They
-
must have burned every photo.
-
Because the son was so sure I am the woman,
-
and the parents very godly, very well known people. I
-
went for the graduation. I said, it's okay, don't even
-
to take the photo. No, you were in every photo,
-
every photo. And then they were very very rich. I
-
come from a very poor family, so disparity status. Whole
-
family of doctors were nothing. In that six months of
-
getting to know each other. While I may have said
-
I want to have come and fly me out, but
-
I have to test if this person follows Jesus. What's
-
gonna hinder me a person, a place, or a possession.
-
Is he following Christ? Right? God? No near as if
-
I have look like Christian love follow up Christ. But
-
in that time that I got to know him so
-
far from the Lord, so far. The family is very strong.
-
They're very well known, as I said, in the Christian circle,
-
very very you know, good speakers and all that. But
-
the child was just far and it was very difficult
-
for me to see this future. Although I tried to
-
build the future that when I lived there, I was
-
already thinking if I marry I lived there, while I'm
-
going to open up the home. I' when I have
-
students come, already thinking I was only twenty three, had
-
a dream because I wanted to be a missionary. This
-
person totally says, rubbish. You will not go for missions,
-
you will not do this. The whole family told me
-
what to do. I said this, but most importantly, his
-
heart was not with the Lord. And when I was
-
there praying every ding, my quiet time, they're in their
-
family house, the Lord spoke to me. This is when
-
I got this word. And all of you heard this.
-
You heard mes preacher before the Lord said, don't be
-
unequally yoked who you're talking to. I was in this
-
other country. I wasn't in Malaysia and I and I'm like,
-
pray again, don't be unequally yoked. I knew that it
-
wasn't about the faith as in Christian only, but the
-
faith level was so far in fact, I don't think
-
he even followed Christ just by name. I thought it
-
was gonna be a tough toughie for you to say
-
this to me. Show me a sign, and a lod
-
shown me so many signs. He was so obvious, right,
-
this is not it? It right? Although everything look very good,
-
good family, da da da, everything, but it just didn't click.
-
Most of all, he didn't follow the way of the
-
Lord and how he treated me, dating me to keep
-
to keep purity, to keep this relationship pure. No, no
-
going all the way. This guy is pressing me for
-
going all the way. I'm like, hey, we're gonna really
-
be make God very angry. You know, I don't want
-
to get pregnant and what forget you? So I said,
-
that's it. You know. I had to stop it because
-
a lot of things in are like very very very
-
very difficult situation which I can't say, and I called
-
it off. I called it off. I see, it's not
-
because the person is very God doesn't love him. The
-
Lord loves him, but God, he has to respond to
-
the Lord as well, because I'm sure God is also
-
speaking to all of us, but the Lord speaking to me.
-
Don't be unequally yo in this case, Sandra, I have
-
a plan for you. So sometimes a person, it could
-
be a boss, it could be anything anyone that causes
-
us to not fully step into the fullness of the lot.
-
If I took that step, I can tell you. It
-
would not have been a happy story. Not only would
-
I not have you as family family of nas I
-
have never known any of you, but I would also
-
have had a broken marriage because that person, I think
-
after it became a criminal or something like that. So honestly,
-
it is crazy because I told him, you need to
-
stop whatever you're doing, whatever whatever, you'd be careful. So
-
it was very tough, but I had to step out
-
of it. Sometimes there are things we are challenged with.
-
Jesus say to me, Sandra, go give this up, carry
-
the cross and follow me.
-
Was I willing right? Because to any tree, you.
-
Know, everybody's everybody's flapping about, you know, getting married, getting
-
me the pressure, and now all my friends are get
-
married and they're older than me. It was one of
-
the younger ones. Yeah, from the pressure right, And I'm like,
-
forget the pressure, man. I just want to follow Jesus
-
and just step out of that relationship and then free again,
-
no flapping wings, fly freedom.
-
Solo.
-
And I'm here today after other failed relationships, because you
-
make choices and the Lord has your life. Did I
-
make I made mistakes? Sure I did make wrong choices,
-
but always he loved me to look at me and say, Sandra,
-
would you sell this? Come take up the cross and
-
follow me. I had a choice, but did I allow
-
the person to have me? Or did I have a person?
-
Did I have a position a possession, or did I
-
have a place? Because I also didn't want to remain here,
-
but that God has changed my heart. I really love Malaysia.
-
I think it's the best country to be at. We
-
are the right and the best people to go out
-
as missionaries, to go out as marketplace missionaries because we
-
can adapt so well. We can adapt like just like that.
-
But we're so stubborn we don't go right.
-
So what can hinder us? So is there a place
-
in your life?
-
Is there a person in your life, or is there,
-
you know, just something that hinders you from actually going
-
all the way to follow Jesus. There's going to be
-
a time when we will have to make a decision
-
whether you're going to go all the way with Jesus
-
or halfway with Jesus. So this is practice time. This
-
is practice time to follow him all the way. So
-
it's very simple. Simple message is if Jesus is a
-
lot of our lives, then then this is who my
-
master is. And whom I will follow, Okay, and her
-
possession could be many things. Yeah, it could be a
-
possession anything you own. And one thing that we own
-
that we all have the same same is the twenty
-
four hours time time. You know, all of us have
-
twenty four hours. That's also a possession. And if that
-
is holding you back time time for the Lord time
-
to do something, I tell you the church in the
-
city us having a church. I'm very grateful that Jesus
-
saved me. I think if I did not have a
-
chance to know Christ, I would be very wayward and
-
I would have made a lot of decisions that would
-
be selfish and that would have cost my life and
-
I really would know I've lived for the glory of God.
-
I'm so grateful for the church that the moment I
-
became a follow of Christ and the church that I
-
grew in, and you know, wherever I was, it gave
-
me opportunity to learn to have people speak over my life,
-
to have people correct me, to teach me. And then
-
the skills that I learned helped me to use it
-
in my marketplace when I went out to work wherever
-
it is. So, I want to say to us, God
-
loves us unconditionally. Even if you say no to him today,
-
he doesn't look away. He looks at you, and he
-
loves you. He's always reaching out to us. Amen. So
-
this story of this young, rich, young ruler walked away,
-
and I pray that none of us have to walk
-
away with sorrow saying I can't choose you, Jesus, because
-
this thing has possession over me. This thing has holed
-
over me, This possesses me. I'm not ready, I'm not able,
-
And I understand for in initial stages because we're getting
-
to know the Lord or you know, hearing things. But
-
as you continue to hunger to be filled, then then
-
that's where you lack. The lack is to fully one
-
hundred percent give ownership to Jesus. Amen, that we have
-
to ask ourselves and are we ready to with different things?
-
Or say, okay, Lord, I'll give up my time to
-
meet somebody. We'll give up our finances or is it
-
giving up?
-
In my case.
-
It's my late Crusae pot. How hard I save to
-
buy my late crusy pot? If elder can has to
-
borrow it, I'll say no, he might send.
-
It back to me scratched. It's a French made pot.
-
Heavy, steady, makes a good curry, makes a good stew.
-
It is just you know what they call the Mercedes
-
of all cooking pots. Lake usay, this pot is just
-
a pot. Come on, lend it to him.
-
No, he'll kill it. How hard?
-
I save bought it in single at a sail and
-
carried it back how heavy.
-
Then the Lord is going to ask me what possessed you?
-
The part? The part?
-
So it can be little things like this that can
-
possess us that we we cannot let go.
-
All right.
-
He could be a child in your life, your child.
-
It could be I don't know a thing, a possession anything.
-
And I tell you what the plans of God for me.
-
I'm walking in his eternal plans right now. Until today,
-
the day I stepped out of my confusion and said,
-
that's it. You know, all these relationships has been my weakness,
-
meaning the tears that you've tried always been for.
-
This guy, that guy there. I just said, that's you know,
-
it's okay to be so low. I have your head
-
be so low.
-
So my church remembers who said you cannot be so low.
-
Keep sending me guys. So I'm really louier for us
-
you know, but I think I'm just a piece of
-
girl that anybody can marry because I'm female.
-
Hello, right, sending me Hey how about this? Is hey?
-
How body?
-
Hey?
-
Very rich?
-
I tell you, it's not about the rich or the
-
word or the Is he after God's heart?
-
The number one on my list? Is he really after
-
God's heart? Because of the things that God has put
-
on my heart as well. So I had to say no,
-
and they all get angry with me, so picky, I say,
-
my face so ugly. I can not find her myself.
-
What possesses us? What's a fear? What's what's it that
-
keeps us from trusting God? One hundred percent? And now
-
I want to say, as the Lord said, take up
-
the cross and follow me, lay it down, lay down
-
the relationships and said yes. And then I could just
-
see the day I laid down my job. I worked
-
in this area, this is called the Golden Triangle. This
-
is my playground for five years corporate. Before Kelsey was up,
-
it was just a hole. Every day I walk and
-
look at the hole. I'm thinking, what is this? What
-
he doing? Was the race course? The race course. When
-
I was growing up, it was a race course. This
-
whole girls this area. Every day I will walk past
-
girl see is bordered up and it's a hole to
-
my office just around the corner. But they were digging deep.
-
I suppose yeah, and uh and and and then with
-
time came and got said. I waited so long for
-
Jesus to call me to leave my corporate job. I
-
thought he forgot me, you know, I thought he forgot
-
me and that I could just marry it and Tom
-
Dick and Harry because all the jokers that came into
-
my life, I know, Chaser, they chased me right. But
-
the day you laid it down and said no, I'll
-
take up the cross I gave. I said I'm ready
-
to go full time. I'm ready to be a missionary.
-
I laid it down and as I stepped into it,
-
you know, I have a family that needs my support.
-
Both my father lost everything, my mom's babysitting. My brother
-
still had to go to education. But they said, no,
-
we believe this is God's calling for you at this time,
-
and so I let go everything. I didn't have a
-
job because I was off to the mission field. I
-
trained as English teacher and then I went off to
-
the field in East Europe. Eastern Europe. As I stepped
-
into it rather than sisters. That marked what we call
-
life and life more abundantly every step of the way
-
until I met past, and then it got even clearer
-
the vision. And here I am still seeking after the
-
choices for the Lord. Amen. I'm not saying you have
-
to go full time. I'm just saying for me, that
-
was my call. But what's your call? Right?
-
What is God saying to lay it down and take
-
up the cross and follow me to.
-
The things that He has for you? Amen? So it's simple,
-
it's I mean, it's not easy to do it. It
-
takes time to get there, but we must be at
-
least aware. Is the thing that possess you the Lord
-
as your master? Or is it the wealth? Or is
-
it the person or a place you have in mind?
-
What is it? Okay? We have to reflect on this
-
carefully as we step in because we want to live
-
every day for Jesus every day. So it's about our obedience.
-
Come on, it's about our obedience. Our Christian faith is
-
a faith and a walk of obedience. As you say
-
yes to this, then you wait on the Lord and
-
he take to you the next step yes, and the
-
next step. Okay, Amen, it's an obedience, it's our salvation
-
and and there comes a whole package of the fullness
-
of God. Brother and sisters in Christ, we are to
-
live to the fullness, to the abundant life of Christ.
-
There is his promise. But if you are living the
-
lass or the lack, I want to implore you to
-
look to the Lord Jesus Christ and ask him, Lord,
-
what do I still lack? And he let him reveal
-
to us, to you personally, what is it so that
-
you will walk in your abundant life? God is not
-
The abundant life is the complete freedom to walk, to
-
freedom to walk, and and you know, not having anything,
-
no need to explain yourself. That's why for our our
-
foundings in your past, he never explains himself. Bad things
-
can happen, good things can happen. He never explains himself
-
to try to explain to you why you should believe
-
in this. You see it, you take it because there's
-
nothing to hide, there's nothing to hide. You can blame
-
it on him, you can say this and that, but
-
he walks in just obedience. And that's why the things
-
we do we're so strange sometimes and why you want
-
to grow small, to grow big. But yet the church
-
started in house of the house of the house of
-
the house. Why this is why he doesn't walk with
-
anything on his shoulder, you know, looking back behind our
-
pastor walks just I know because I live with him
-
so hard. You know, everything news, No, it's like a
-
below can no no eyes again, no, no, thank you Gods.
-
But but I can't see I live with him. If
-
you ask me, does he do it quiet time? Oh,
-
my goodness, for hours. I'm waiting more. I want to ask,
-
so so I cannot. I want to know, so are
-
you every girl? Because the door is closing on me
-
and peep through door. Now he's decided to close the
-
whole door because I pep hours already I did my
-
quiet time, love, but not for love to want to
-
because I'm the wife. I have to do a house work,
-
I have to make the breakfast ready, I have to
-
do all these things, you know. And he says this,
-
he leaves it. He's in his quiet time. He does it.
-
If I hear him pray for the church partners, the
-
prayer list that comes out on our telegram. Praise. That's
-
why I love for hours. I too, I didn't pray
-
for everybody. I pray for some by one. Sorry, I
-
shall reflect on this. He prays, worship, reads and listens
-
to the reader the Bible. What you audio as well,
-
worship done this, he's just gone higher. He's just taking
-
it up. So I cannot disturb him because he's talking
-
to Jesus. So I have to wait. If you live
-
freely without any anything to hide, you don't explain yourself.
-
You live the truth every day. You live in the
-
plans that God has, you don't have to say. Oh,
-
you try to explain why you do this, trying to
-
make an excuse, or you think what you think is
-
a reason. But if you're clear, you're clear, crystal clear,
-
it's nothing to explain. You take it or leave it.
-
This is what you get. That's what Jesus is saying
-
to him. Just go sell everything. You're saying what you
-
lack because you lack me. When you give up all this,
-
you have me. You know, there's an old song we
-
used to sing. You remember, but I wish you Jesus.
-
I wish you everything. Every time I wish you Jesus,
-
I wish you everything in Christ is everything. I can't
-
remember the song now, but I remember singing it all
-
the time. He says, wed, I wish you Jesus, I
-
wish you everything everything, and that's what God wanted. Jesus
-
wanted the young man to experience everything. But how to tell, right,
-
So we have to tell him. I go tell everything,
-
take up the cross, follow me, and then experience the
-
fullness of Christ. And that's what I want all of
-
us to experience as well in our own faith work
-
with Jesus. Amen, Jesus calls us to come and follow
-
him to be his disciples. Simple, right, it's not very
-
difficult message, right, you can get it. But what possesses
-
you that stops you from fully surrendered, being surrendered to
-
the Lord and to live every day with Jesus. I'm
-
not talking to you like I got it right. Yeah,
-
I speak to because of my own adventure and journey
-
with Christ. Of yeah, I really let go of the pod,
-
or you know I have to, or just sometimes afraid
-
of different people. Then sometimes I really don't want to
-
see someone because it's so difficult to handle the conversation,
-
but I need to, so I allow fear to possess
-
me in too. Therefore I don't reach that person. So
-
we have many fears or many things that can hinder
-
us from overcoming the lack. Come on, Church. This man
-
had a right question. He asked the right question, what
-
do I still lack?
-
If you've done everything already, you should be the freedom.
-
You're walking on sunshine? Yeah, yeah, sunshine so so N
-
s H I N E sun shine, not as u
-
N s O N. You're walking on sunshine, the freedom
-
of God and just experiencing his you know, his faithfulness,
-
his beauty, his fullness, he's healing, his his grace over circumstances.
-
We all have difficult circumstances, amen, I mean not a
-
man ouch. We all have difficult right and I know
-
family to take care of. I had to take care
-
of my dad in his last days on earth. I
-
to take care of him for months years. I have
-
to take him to the hospital, you know, I have
-
to work in the hospital and wait with him. All
-
of us will have one day to take care of
-
our parents, one way or another. So it's a privilege, right,
-
But it's tough. Sometimes you are alone going to the
-
hospital with your parents. Sometimes you don't have anyone to
-
support you. But because people are busy, you can do it.
-
So you do it. I could do it, so I
-
did it. So out of saying is the Lord has
-
the fullness for us, And with every step of the way,
-
there is a grace of God for you to walk
-
in that situation. And that is what we want you
-
to experience, the grace, the generosity of God. That's what
-
grace means, the generosity of God to give you a
-
sufficient strength to walk through that circumstance. Amen. Amen. So
-
as simple as that, just think about what is it
-
that is stopping you, holding you back from your full
-
ability to experience and open heaven place person possession. And
-
sometimes it's tight to you know, the age old problem.
-
I can't forgive. I am offended. You gottally deal with it.
-
Luck is in come to the Lord and ask for
-
strength to let go of the offense, to forgive, because
-
it is a promise that we must do. As crisis
-
done for us. He forgave us so graciously, so we
-
too can buy the strength of God forgive those who
-
have very very badly hurt us, offended us, stole from us,
-
robbed from us. I don't know, said all kinds of things.
-
It's so hard, like they don't deserve my love It's okay.
-
You forgive, you then can receive God's love to give love. Amen. Amen.
-
And so it was a good question. Sometimes we should
-
ask ourselves, not quiet time, Lord, where do I lack
-
the anything that you know? And you know in your
-
heart what you like love? It's small or bignessn't matter,
-
you know. But it's just asking the Lord. And I
-
tell you he will whisper into your heart. And you
-
know he will whisper with gentleness and kindness and guide
-
you through it. Amen. Hallelujah. So may we all step
-
into walking with the Lord as his disciples. This really
-
is a discipleship, a discipleship message. Whose disciple are you?
-
If you belong to the Lord, the Lord, you're following Christ,
-
then whatever Christ does, you and I will do. If
-
he if he he fed the poor, we feed the poor.
-
If he if he touch the leopard, heal the leopold,
-
we will do that as well. Do we dare? Do
-
we dare?
-
Take God at every step of his word.
-
I have to do that. I'm praying for healing, you know,
-
for a particular thing. I'm just asking the Lord, the Lord,
-
do I go and see the doctor for this to
-
remove this this or do you wait? But even if
-
you send me there, it's still the Lord who has
-
to do the final healing. So you know, I believe
-
that God is my healer. Amen. I believe that He's
-
the one who provides for me financially or whatever that
-
the need is, or to take care of the situation
-
that I'm in. Sometimes we forget, so sorry, remind you
-
the Lord never forgets, and the Lord Love will look
-
at you and love you as you speak to him.
-
He loves you, and even if you say I'm not ready,
-
he'll still love you while there is time. But don't
-
wait too long to do the bidding that means to
-
do the Lord's ask you to do. Do it when
-
there's time, because there will be a common time and
-
there won't be the grace anymore because we have to respond.
-
And I pray that we choose Christ every day, choose
-
Jesus every day to follow him. Amen, hallelujah, So may
-
our hearts we open to the Lord as we can
-
the year. As you step into a new day in
-
just a couple of weeks, would you want those things
-
to possess you or do you want to be the
-
one who says has a choice to say no or
-
yes to do something. Don't let things hold you. You
-
should be the one that dictates to the thing, so
-
that doesn't dictate your life. Amen. You have the right,
-
the authority in Christ to say no. I don't have
-
to step into that. It just says I had to
-
choose to say no to those that relationship, that relationship
-
because the Lord spoke, I had to listen and I
-
didn't have to say Nola. It's this whole culture, this
-
whole pressure. Am I allowing a peer pressure to pressure me?
-
Or do I step out and go like no, I
-
don't live under peer pressure. I live under the Master
-
Jesus Christ. So the choice is mine. Amen.
