You're listening to a message to go from Art's Church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea. Revival
-
what does it mean? What does it mean? Okay, my
-
little attempt at being artistic? You know, because you see
-
the word revival from Dream is in red. If you
-
know me, that's the most I can do. Somebody who
-
used to get three upon one hundred, eight upon one
-
hundred for art is the best that I can do.
-
So Revival this year is activated. Actually I actually have
-
put Dream as well and put it in red because
-
Dream Discipleship was activated last year, and this year we
-
are going into revival. And you know that the R
-
comes before E. What is E? Evangelism? So revival comes
-
before evangelism. Now the dictionary meaning, let's look at the
-
what the dictionary says revival is it is an improvement
-
in the condition of strength of fortunes or someone or something.
-
All right, you know those people who went bankrupt and
-
then they became rich again. Revival, revival an instance of
-
something becoming popular or active again. M how many of
-
you remember Ebber? You know whoever is those of us,
-
especially in how sixties a Ebb was it? Okay? And
-
the Ebo was it in the late seventies, early eighties. Ever,
-
all Ebbs, everything that they came out with was number
-
one as far as we were concerned. Then I came
-
to nineteen eighty two, Ever became a bad word. Do
-
you remember anytime somebody mentioned about you, You're like that, uh,
-
what's wrong with you? So you kept quiet about it.
-
You listened to Ebber songs in secret. You didn't listen
-
out in the open because people would ridicule you. Then
-
you know what happened, Mama Mia. When Mama Mia happened.
-
Suddenly Ebba was in again, and everybody was singing Ebber
-
songs and the radio was playing Abba music. Why revival,
-
that's the understanding of the dictionary. And then we have
-
this is again the dictionary, a reawakening of religious fervor,
-
especially by means of evangelistic meetings. I always had a
-
problem with this word revival because those of us who
-
were born again in the late seventies, in the early eighties,
-
if you remember, the preachers were always talking about revival
-
is coming, Revival is coming, Revival is coming. And there
-
I'm thinking to myself, when is this revival going to come? Still,
-
so many people don't know the Lord. When is it
-
just going to break like those times that we heard,
-
you know, is it Burrial and Indonesia and the Great
-
Revival Ten Revival meetings in the US in the fifties
-
where hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands of people were
-
just coming to the Lord. So I'm thinking to myself,
-
when is this going to happen in militia. So I,
-
you know, it began to be a little bit of
-
a discouragement as time went on because we kind of
-
didn't see I didn't see it. See, I didn't understand it.
-
I didn't understand what revival actually mean. This is what
-
the Bible speaks of as being revival God, restoring spiritual life,
-
awakening believer us, awakening believers, and renewing devotion, repentance, and obedience.
-
See my problem, Let's say our problem with revival was
-
that we always thought it was evangelism. We mixed up
-
the two. We got confused. We were thinking that revival
-
means evangelism, but they are actually completely different. Evangelism is
-
when lost people get saved, and revival is when saved
-
people get awakened. You see, I was always looking for
-
somebody else I was looking at when's that isn't going
-
to be? When's that person coming to the Lord? But
-
the Lord was interested in reviving me. You want to
-
see people come to the Lord be in a constant
-
state of revival. You see, it's not about that other person.
-
It has never been. Revival has never been about that
-
other person. It's about you and I. Okay, when I
-
say you, I mean me. Okay, So don't ever think
-
that I'm pointing fingers at you, because you know as that.
-
You know, when you're a kid, you point a finger,
-
three fingers pointing by you. So we cover that, okay,
-
politically correct. When I say you, I mean me? Right,
-
So you and I we need to have our spirits revived.
-
You want to see that thousands come to the Lord.
-
The Lord has given us an idea. What is it revive? Revive?
-
Oh you mean you say I'm not revived? You know
-
you can exist as a believer? Yeah, yeah, yeah, the
-
Lord bless us you. You go through life, you do
-
your quiet time every day, you know, it's all. Everything's okay.
-
You go to work, you get your paycheck, you come
-
back home, you're tied. It's okay. You can be like that.
-
You know what that is called. That is called existing
-
in the Lord. You see. But we were never meant
-
to just be existing. We were meant to be fruitful.
-
We were meant to go out there and get something done.
-
What did Matthew let Matthew twenty eight say, go into
-
the world, and what preach the gospel? Making disciples? H
-
So how are we going to be personally involved with revival?
-
So I want to actually bring it closer home what
-
revival should mean to us and how we can make
-
something of it and see something happen. Responsibility, you know,
-
the responsibility of revival. It's ours. Ah, we say, Oh,
-
God is the one who's gonna pour us. Yes, God
-
will pour out the spirit, but responsibility is ours. And
-
I'm going to share with you a little bit about this,
-
and and I'm probably going to use a verse that's
-
not normally talked about or really eat to this, but
-
I want to draw some truths how we can see
-
our lives change. Okay, So let's look at one Samuel
-
fifteen nineteen. This talks about this. You know, remember the
-
story of Saul. Saul had just become king and the
-
Lord had given him the kingship of Israel, And then
-
the Lord gave him his first task, go and I
-
want you to completely destroy the Amalakites, get rid of
-
their livestock, get rid of their king. I want you
-
to wipe them out. And what did Saul do? See
-
in scripture it says that Saul kept the goats and
-
the sheep, or is the sheep? He kept the livestock, right,
-
He destroyed everything else. He destroyed the people, and he
-
did not destroy the king. He did not destroy the king.
-
And that was quite strange. Why would he not do that?
-
Why would he not follow what the Lord said? And Samuel,
-
the prophet was pretty upset, And in verse nineteen he said,
-
why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord?
-
Why did you swoop down on the spoil and do
-
evil in the sight of the Lord. So now Samuel
-
is confronting soul. Why why there's a song in there somewhere,
-
Why didn't you do? What's the matter with you? What's
-
the matter you, hey? Why? In verse twenty he goes
-
on to say, and sauls it to Samuel, but I
-
have obeyed the voice of the Lord and gone on
-
the mission which the Lord sent me, and brought back king,
-
King of Amalek, I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. The
-
first thing, sorry, the first thing you gotta do is obedience.
-
If God tells us to do something, do it. You
-
want to see revival happen in your life. We're talking
-
about us, sir, I'm not talking about others yet. You
-
want to see revival happen where you are. You got
-
to begin with yourself. What does it tell us to do?
-
It tells us that we have to be obedient. How
-
many times have we failed to do what the Lord
-
has told us to do? Quite a number of times? Right,
-
I confess? All right, it's it's it's sometimes so natural
-
for us to do the opposite. But you know that
-
God doesn't let you end there. He doesn't stop with
-
us failing him. He allows us an opportunity to correct
-
the situation. You know what is that opportunity. It's called repentance.
-
So you and I we miss it. We miss it
-
a lot. All right? You want to get into this,
-
this this area where revival can happen in your life?
-
Say I'm sorry, Lord, I should have done this. I
-
didn't do it. I should have done that, I didn't
-
do it. I missed it. I made a mistake. But
-
you know the problem with Saul was he was not contrite.
-
It was a fake sorry that he said, but I
-
did what In other words, he thought his way of
-
doing things was all right. You know why sometimes we
-
don't see thousands upon thousands of people coming to the
-
Lord because we're doing it our way. The Bible says,
-
there's only one way, and it's not my way. So
-
the song my way, not the song we should be singing.
-
We shouldn't be doing it our way. We should be
-
doing his way. See that's the problem. We like to
-
do things our way. So contry. He was not contract,
-
but I have one. So how many times has the
-
lot confronted us and we said, but I did what
-
you told me to do. Did you did I? Ah?
-
You have to check yourself. What was the difference between
-
Saul and David. Saul didn't kill the king. Saul did
-
not destroy the livestock. But David, he stole somebody's wife,
-
and to top it all off, he killed the husband
-
and to make matters worse, he fathered a child. Wow, David,
-
What was the difference between David and King Saul? You
-
see her Saul had fake ownership fake. In Saul fifteen
-
twenty four, it says this, Then Saul said to Samuel,
-
I have sin for I have transgressed the commands of
-
the Lord because I fear the people. Guys take ownership.
-
We have to take ownership of where we are. We
-
have to take ownership of what we do or what
-
we don't do. That's the difference between true repentance and
-
contriteness and what Saul was, you said, David. So Nathan
-
came up to David and say you have sin? You
-
know what did David didn't reject it. He didn't say
-
it's not my faull Okay, I was just resting up there.
-
Who asked to bathe? In my sight? Did David do that?
-
I mean, I'm a red blooded male, okay, So she
-
shouldn't have been bathing where I could see her. Most
-
of us, some of us will tell God that, you
-
know God, I mean I looked in it. Who also,
-
they have a toilet that's not covered. Not my former.
-
If David did that, he would be like, so, but
-
you know what David did. I am sorry, And there
-
was consequence for his sin. The child was going to die.
-
David sat there in side cloth, ashes, moaning, repenting, But
-
consequence will have its way. And when consequence had its way,
-
what did David do? He got up, he anointed him, say,
-
he cleaned himself, and he got on with life. And
-
what did God say about David? A man after my own?
-
Was David a man after God's heart because he stole
-
somebody's wife? No? Was he a man after God's heart
-
because he killed somebody's husband. No? But he was a
-
man after God's heart because he took responsibility. He owned
-
up for his mistake, He was sorry for his sin
-
when he repented the difference between him and Saul. Saul said,
-
I was afraid of the man. Come on, you're the king.
-
You're afraid of the man. Your head is above their shoulder.
-
That's what the Bible says. So if the if the
-
Israelites were six feet six, Saul would have been at
-
least seven foot four. He would have been huge. And
-
he's afraid of the man. He is the king, He's
-
not a puppet. He is the king. And did the
-
people hear the charge being given to him? Yes, so
-
he had the authority, but he abused it. He missed
-
it all right. The other thing is character. I have sinned.
-
You know, saula had this problem. He had a weak character. Hey,
-
we got character problems. Let's get it right before the Lord.
-
Let's settle it before the Lord. Let us not be
-
like Saul saul hair character problem. Look at what once
-
Emuel thirty says it says this. Then he said, I
-
have sinned yet, honor me. Now, I have sin yet,
-
honor me. Now, please before the elders of my people
-
and before Israel and returned with me. Guys, do you
-
see that Saul had a character flaw, and that's the
-
reason why he did not obey the Lord. He was
-
more concerned that he would have the honor in the
-
sight of the people rather than the honor in the
-
sight of God. You know, there are some people who
-
are shy to come to church. You know why they're
-
shyed to come to judge you you goodyear, You saw
-
Goody Goody two shoes, So they don't want to come
-
to church. You're so worried about what people will say.
-
I was punched in the face because I wanted to
-
come to church. Thank God, I didn't lose my front teeth,
-
but the Lord protected me. It started off that way
-
and as time went on, I get the knock on
-
my door. Hey, it's eight o'clock. Aren't you going to church? Guys?
-
What are we going to do? All right? So the
-
first thing is we got to We've got to be obedient.
-
We've got to repent before the Lord. We've got to
-
be contraved. You want to see revival happening in your heart,
-
You've got to take care of your heart issues. You
-
got to sort it out. You've got to think about
-
your character, and you got to see what are the
-
flaws that get in the way. Address it. Then the
-
next thing we got to do in order to see
-
this revival happen in our lives, share what you know.
-
Did the scripture ever tell us to share what we
-
don't know? Did it? Guys? You and I got to
-
realize one thing. Every one of us has a story.
-
How he came to the Lord is unique to us.
-
What the Lord spoke to us is unique to us.
-
And do you know that that story is there and
-
will help somebody else who's in a similar situation. The
-
Scripture is telling us tell what you know. There's no
-
need to speak about what you don't know, talk about
-
your experience in the Lord share. I've seen the Lord
-
come through when the demons came out from that possessed person.
-
I can share it because I actually saw it. So
-
when I told it to my friends forty years later,
-
I find they've accepted the Lord and they still talk
-
about that. I tell you a story. This happened a
-
couple of weeks back. So I got this house, I
-
mean my house, and in the night, there's some loud
-
noises in the ceiling. I mean the noise is so loud.
-
It sounds like drums being played. Not a caro on,
-
you fool, set the drums with symbols clashing everything. It's
-
really noisy. And my two little dogs, Macey and Allah,
-
go crazy. They start looking at the ceiling. They go howling,
-
like nobody's business, parking bucket, how to sleep? Two in
-
the morning, this is happening. Three in the morning. This
-
is happening. So I thought there was mussan, you know
-
as mussan civet cats. I thought there was mussang running
-
around the roof, and I tell you, when they run
-
the it sounds as the roof's gonna fall in. Okay,
-
it's that loud, because you know, the ceiling is like
-
a big guitar box. You know, it sort of amplifies
-
the sound. So anyway, I said, okay, this Chinese nar,
-
I'm going to go into the roof and I'm going
-
to put lights inside the ceiling. Okay, why when you
-
put lights inside the ceiling, they're supposed to get afraid, right, Okay,
-
So I went in to put lights. I bought a
-
ladder that would help me get up. Okay, So I
-
got all my staff when bought the lights, brought the
-
wires ready to act. So I've been in that roof
-
tens of times before. I have done wiring work up there.
-
I've done plumbing work up there. You know. I mean
-
I could get in there. Okay, I could do it
-
this time. I have a knee problem. My right knee
-
is having an issue. So you know, walking is fine,
-
moving is fine, sitting down and getting up is a problem.
-
So in order to get into the roof, I have
-
to bend my knee and push myself up into that
-
very very small space. And trust me, I'm not as
-
small as I once was when I used to do
-
those things. So I got on the roof, moved the ceiling,
-
I got in. So now I'm here this part is
-
in the ceiling, this part is on the ladder. And
-
then I'm trying to pull myself up, but my ready saying,
-
forget it, man, it's not going to happen. You're not
-
getting this leg up there. And if you can get
-
the leg up there, you won't be able to get down.
-
So I'm looking then I so said, I said God,
-
I used to be able to do this. Now I cannot,
-
and I need to solve the problem. But how to
-
solve the problem. I cannot go in the roof. And
-
then it happened. I saw the culprit. Okay, it was
-
a big, fat rat. The body itself must have been
-
six seven inches long, not counting the tail. And this rat.
-
So I'm this is my ceiling. Okay, this is the
-
front of the house. I'm in the whole wall behind me,
-
and I see this rat calmly run across. Fat rat
-
and it kind of turns and looks at me, and
-
it just continues to move, And I'm thinking to myself,
-
this is my house, how come your day? And it
-
wasn't afraid of me at all. It was like a
-
house pet, just calmly moving from the left to the right.
-
I say, God, this won't work. You have to help me.
-
You gotta help me, Lord, So the Lord said, and
-
the answer came in. He said, don't fret, it's okay,
-
it's all okay, be okay. What I need you to
-
do is make a small hole in the corner of
-
the roof. So where where could I made a small hole? There?
-
It says, Now put your extension called wire through and
-
keep plug points in the roof. Which I got plug
-
points in the roof. Now put the hole through the
-
ceiling wide. It so neatly, you don't even know that
-
there is wired, so neat Then I got three big
-
led fluorescent lines and I scattered it for as far
-
as I could go and wire it to this plug point.
-
Turn it on. It works. I came out of the roof,
-
and I was so pleased with myself. In the night time,
-
I couldn't wait for the night time. Okay, nighttime, I
-
shut off all the lights into my roof and turn
-
the light on. And then you see this light escaping
-
through gasps, you know, gaps in the ceiling and shining
-
up the ceiling. It looks so pretty. So where am
-
I going with all this? Share? What you know? Do
-
what the Lord has told you to do, and you
-
will have success. See I listen, I ask the Lord, Lord,
-
there must be a solution. Help me. I'm so used
-
to be able to going into the roof and dealing
-
with things. I can't do it now. What said it's
-
going to be okay? You see, I tell you another
-
story from scripture that will draw this make it clear.
-
In Two Kings. In Two Kings, chapter seven, he talks
-
about the time where Israel was besieged by Aram, King
-
Aram or a besiege. So Israel had you know, this
-
king had had circled the place and then there was
-
no food going in. You know, they've cut out the water,
-
and the city was besieged. But Elishah was cool. Elijah
-
the prophet just said, it's gonna be okay. You see
-
the Lord come through. It's gonna be okay. You see,
-
the Lord has told us it's gonna be okay. Your
-
situation and my situation, the Lord's taken care of it.
-
He's given you solutions. You don't have to be worried
-
about it. But what you do have to do is
-
do what you know. So then the story goes on
-
to talk about four leapers people that didn't want to touch, people,
-
that didn't want Nobody wanted to come near them, nobody
-
wanted to have anything to do with them. So these
-
four leapers came to the gate and said, Hi, are
-
we going to die anyway? So why don't we go
-
over to the campsite of the king and maybe they'll
-
give us some food. If they give us some food,
-
we live. They don't give us, they kill us, we
-
are dead. So either way we're all right. Remember that story.
-
So now that's verse three seven, verse three. So there
-
were four leapers men and reds the gate say why
-
we were sitting here and we die? And then reading
-
from verse eight, and these lepers came to the ass
-
that camp. They went into one tent in and drank. Wow,
-
they found food. Isn't it wonderful? They found food in
-
the enemy's place. You know when the scripture says that
-
you have prepared a table in the midst of my
-
enemies in Psalm twenty three, you see this actually is
-
taking place, can you see it? So now they go
-
in and there's food. They eat and drank, and then
-
they carried away silver and gold and clothing and went
-
from I can never understand why these people are going
-
to ward. They carry all their silver and gold. Does
-
it make sense to you? The only thing I can
-
think of is no banks at home. So they are
-
afraid people will steal your stuff at home, so they
-
bring it wherever they go, gold and silver. But these
-
guys found the gold and silver, they came back and
-
entered another ten and carry away some of it, and
-
they hid it. So now they were plundering this place.
-
They were guys. God will provide us, He will, He
-
will provide for us. See, we are so worried about
-
thinking about ourselves. We've forgotten our true mission in life.
-
Our true mission in life is not to worry about
-
food or drink or money. Our true mission in life
-
is to do what is to share what we know,
-
make disciples. You know what is making a disciple? Sharing
-
what you know? What did Paul say, be imitators or me?
-
Even as I imitate Christ? He was not saying be
-
imitator of somebody else, because he wasn't that person. I
-
cannot tell you to be an imitator of him because
-
I'm not him or he can tell you that. But
-
I can tell you imitate me because I am who
-
I am. So they said to one another, we are
-
not doing right. You see, when God has given us
-
something good and we don't share it, we are not
-
doing something right. You know why people don't come to
-
the Lord. You know why we don't see revivals in
-
her heart. We don't see revival in her heart because
-
we are not doing what is right. The day is
-
a day of good news. When was the day of
-
good news for us? When we came into a saving
-
knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. That was a day
-
of good news for us. And what did we do
-
with it? We probably shared with our family members. We
-
probably shared with a few friends. Fast forward many years later.
-
Who do we share it now? Nobody? Do we need revival?
-
You better believe it. We need revival. The day is
-
a day of good news, and we remain silent, And
-
if we wait until light, some punishment will come upon us. Now, therefore,
-
come let us go and tell the king's household. Come
-
let us go and tell people about the Lord. You're
-
at the age of sixty five. I don't care about
-
my face anymore. You know what's the reason we don't
-
share Jesus with people? We are so afraid of rejection. True, now,
-
at my age. Now do I care. I can't be
-
bothered because you see, when you're not rejecting me. If
-
I'm telling you do something good, are you rejecting me? No?
-
Who are you rejecting? You're rejecting Jesus. That's between you
-
and him. I've done my part. So now I tell
-
people you're having problems with some old folks, call me.
-
I will come and share with them, because I don't
-
care anymore about my face. Rejection means nothing to me.
-
Talk about it. Share what you know? We went to
-
the Syrian cam and surprisingly no one was there, not
-
a human sound, horses and donkeys and the text and
-
the tense in tech. So the people went out and
-
plundered it. So you know it says that they plundered
-
and they received. Guys, you and I got to know
-
one thing. The Lord is for us. He is for us.
-
He will take care of those issues. What are we
-
supposed to do? Share the good news? Because, as you
-
learned here, if we keep good news to ourselves, it
-
is not good. Why because revival starts? Yeah, movie voice, Okay,
-
but it's true, it's true. The next thing you need
-
to do is you need to believe. You need to believe.
-
You see eleven six Hebrews. It says, without failing, it
-
is impossible to please him, for he who comes to
-
God must believe that he is, and that he is
-
a reward of those who diligently seek him. Guys, you
-
got a believer that when the word goes out, something's
-
going to happen, because it's not your word, it's His word.
-
That's why I said, when they rejected, who are they rejecting?
-
They're not rejecting me. Who are they rejecting? They're rejecting him.
-
So now when I go and I share, hey, would
-
you like to know Jesus, they say no, it's all right,
-
it's okay. Not rejecting me. I'm not Jesus. Who are
-
they rejecting. They're rejecting the Lord. You know, I share
-
this message a long time ago. We are all predestined
-
to be believers. You know. The the understanding of this
-
word predestined in scripture is talking about being predem to
-
be the The Lord predestined that all of us be
-
our believers. For for God's love the world that he gave,
-
He's only concerned whosoever believes in him. Sho's not perish
-
but have ever last thing life. So it is everybody,
-
but the choice to accept it is ours. We accept
-
it or we rejected. So when somebody says your God
-
is so unfair, he predestined you to be Christian, he did,
-
Predestine means so that's why I'm not a Christian? He said, no,
-
he predestined to be a Christian. By you rejected, it's
-
your choice. Do not allow somebody to take the blame
-
away from themselves, just like how we should not give
-
our blame to somebody else. Okay, believe Believe in God
-
is the most basic of all human consideration. Acknowledgment of
-
God is foundational to learning any to learning any more
-
about Him. Without believing God, it is impossible to please
-
him or even come to him. Do you know that
-
there's the world today? In Psalms, I think it is
-
some sorry. In Romans one eighteen to twenty three, it says,
-
for the wrath of God is revealed in heaven against
-
all ungodness and unrescious men who suppressed the truth of
-
unrighteousness in unrighteousness, because because what may be known of
-
God is manifesting them, for God has shown to them. Okay,
-
then it says here professing to be wise. This is
-
verse twenty two. They become fools and change the glory
-
of the incorruptible, incorruptible God into the image made by
-
corruptible man. Hey, guys, this world has gone completely nuts. Seriously,
-
I don't know whether you read recently. There was this
-
woman inverted commerce who was stopped at the airport and
-
taken out of the woman's line and put in a
-
man's line because the X ray showed that she had
-
a man's appendage, and she wants to take the airline
-
to court. Come on, just because you dress up in
-
a dress, put lipstick and rouge on your face, and
-
wear woman's clothing does not make you a woman. I
-
hope I'm not offending anybody, but let me just tell
-
the truth. I've even had this argument with family members
-
from across the sea. Right. I will not allow somebody
-
else's delusion to be put on me. If you want
-
to be deluded, be deluded, but you have no right
-
to impose that belief on me, even through legislation. You know,
-
you go to some countries, you call her here, you
-
call her a he. You get put in jail. This
-
is what scripture is talking about themselves, professing themselves to
-
be wise, they become you know why, they have rejected
-
the knowledge of God. They have rejected God. Let us
-
never be like that, because the moment you and I
-
reject God, you know what will happen. The Bible says
-
we will become stupid. I'm sorry, that's what scripture says.
-
We will start believing in fantasies, we will start going
-
off track. There was another case this joker has been
-
taking female hormones for the longest time, and it's so
-
surprised when DNA tests came back she still had female chromosomes.
-
Then there is another case of a doctor in the
-
States appearing before Congress could not tell what a woman is.
-
That's what you call mentally ill people. And I love
-
what the the Czech deputy prime minister said. He said,
-
they are only two genders, male and female. The rest
-
is social construct. Why social construct construct? Because the world
-
is rejecting the knowledge of God. They are becoming foolish
-
in their thinking. Let's not be like that, because we
-
are surrounded by the proof of God's existence. You just
-
have to look around, you have to look into space,
-
you have to look and see all the beautiful things
-
that God is. And you will know. The fool says
-
in his heart. So I'm fourteen one. The fool says
-
in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt,
-
they have done abominable works. There's none who does good.
-
You know. Scripture says it is foolish. It is foolishness
-
to disbelief in God. And I want to end with this,
-
so we know that we have to have a spirit
-
of a posture of being obedient. We have to be contrived.
-
We have to ask the Lord forgiveness. We have to
-
watch our character, we have to believe in God. We
-
have to talk about what we know. You want to
-
see revival happen. These are the things you have to
-
practice in your own life. And in case you think
-
you are way off from everybody else, no, let's look
-
at scripture. You remember in Uh I believe it is
-
Book of Acts. In the Book of Acts it talks
-
about the two men who are walking away from Jerusalem
-
to in MOUs Hey. Jesus was just around a few
-
days ago, okay, I mean you know, not much time
-
had passed and they were already walking away. Jerusalem was
-
where the action was, and they were heading in opposite direction,
-
and Jesus appeared to them, say, I'm showing you now
-
what happens with personal revival. Okay, in scripture, what is revival?
-
So they are walking with just like us. You know,
-
we go our own way. You have God's way. We
-
go our own way. And when Jesus comes into the situation,
-
things happen. So now Jesus comes in and they don't
-
recognize him. You know why they don't recognize him. When
-
you're walking away from the Lord, sometimes you don't recognize
-
who Jesus is. And Jesus, out of the kindness of
-
his heart, out of his love for us, we'll talk
-
to us, will reason with us. And then when he
-
broke bread, they realized it was Jesus. So when they
-
had a revelation of Jesus, you know what happened. They
-
turned back, They went back towards where the action was.
-
They went back towards Jerusalem. So you and I were
-
asking why is revival different from evangelism. Hey, let me
-
tell you. Five thousand and three thousand became born again
-
believers in the Book of Acts. When when did it happen?
-
Did it happen just like that, or did it happen
-
after the one hundred and twenty were revived by the
-
power of the Holy Spirit. When they were praying in
-
that room, the Holy Spirit came on them and they
-
were revived. Evangelism took place. So you want to call
-
that revival, sure, in a very broad sense. But the
-
revival was in the hearts of the beliefs. And when
-
the believers were revived, they went out and spoke, and
-
evangelism happened. Thousands came to the Lord. Guys, you and I,
-
we're entering this time of revival. Yeah, revival. Revival starts
-
with us. Are we waiting for somebody else? No? No, no,
-
don't wait for somebody else. It starts with us. Deal
-
with us, Deal with your spirit, deal with your belief,
-
deal with your honor, deal with your forgiveness, deal with
-
your character. When you have dealt with that, trust and
-
believe the power the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit
-
comes and you by these things of getting your life
-
right before the Lord, you know what happens next, evangelism.
-
And when evangelism takes place, you will find people coming
-
to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, like
-
you and I dream of. Because it's not us. It's
-
never been us. It's always it has always been about
-
the power of God working. Does it work on It's not,
-
It works through us. So, if you've learned anything today,
-
revivalists at our fingertips. It depends on us. It's not
-
depending on the pastor, it's not depending upon the church.
-
It's not depending upon your holy friend. It's never been
-
about depending on somebody else. Revival has been about you
-
addressing those issues in your life and seeing the power
-
of God come upon you, and then evangelism will take
-
place the way you and I hope for it to
-
take place. I hope we've got something from this, and
-
now I understand why those years and years have been waiting.
-
When is it going to happen? It starts with me.
-
It has never been about starting with somebody else. It
-
has always been about starting with me. We hope you've
-
been blessed by this message. For more information on our church,
