You're listening to a message to go from at church.
-
We hope this message will light up your day.
-
Say we want revival, but if we keep settling with
-
the old stuff, keep using the old, we will look
-
the same, we will think the same, will behave the same.
-
You need to ask ourselves, what's the point, guys? If
-
we want to go through renovation, the renewing of our
-
mind to be transformed in our lives Roman Chapter twelve,
-
US one to two, to welcome revival in our lives,
-
what are the changes that we're seeing in us now?
-
One of the major struggles in our renovation right, just
-
to be real with you all, we're talking about new, right,
-
talking about new. One of the major struggles in my
-
renovation process is that we wanted to keep a lot
-
of things. No, when I say okay, I don't, I don't.
-
I don't reveal to much. I don't real Okay, okay,
-
we are we all right. We want to keep a
-
lot of things. You know, we wanted to keep furnitures
-
like hey, this so far, we spend so much money.
-
You know, last time I got no hat to you know,
-
get rid of it. Hey, you know this dining table,
-
last time you know when Daddy was only like Arnie
-
how much you know he bought this tick table. You
-
know it's supposed to last five generations, you know, the
-
only the generation. Why get rid of it? You know?
-
We started getting like so emotional, you know, we we
-
we our struggles was a lot of like, oh, hey,
-
you know all these books are this exercise book or
-
your primary school exercise book? You know how you go
-
to renovation? You know what I'm talking about, right, you
-
know I'm looking at hey, these clothes are hey, last
-
time my sports Day T shirt? You know, spots Day?
-
Like yeah, noah, we love this, No, I would love this? No,
-
what is sports Day? Books? So many books? You know,
-
so many books, you know, and we're like what cannot
-
trou cannot true? Oh? So many things and and and
-
by keeping all these things a seriously, we kept so
-
many things. You know, I'm telling you my house right
-
of all all the wedding dinners, Irana, that all of
-
you got wedding favor right, my mom kept it aside.
-
So if you want to know, hey, so you're twenty fourteen,
-
the wedding dinner you went, what dog if you went,
-
oh twenty fourteen, my mom kept here like kendle kendle. Okay, Oh,
-
I shouldn't say it's my mom ah me me me,
-
me all right. Me. I also I like to keep
-
all these kinds of things. Yeah, ah, hard to throw
-
in our lives, so many things we find it hard
-
to throw. But you know what made it hard. It
-
made it hard for the workers because when the workers
-
needed to fix the flooring of the upstairs, they need
-
to move all the things to the downstairs, and then
-
the contracted us. Uh, Jola, we need to start doing
-
the downstairs. Honey, you start doing the downstairs, Doula, about
-
all your things from upstairs move to the downstairs. Oh,
-
move upstairs, and then the workers move everything to the upstairs.
-
Move everything to the upstairs, okay, and then move everything
-
through upstairs. Then the contractor, you know, like two weeks later, Jola, Oh,
-
your things are the upstairs, right, need to move her?
-
Why because we're done with the downstairs. So it's time
-
to clean the upstairs. Huh. Corying out you know, after
-
you fix the flooring, after that you need to clean. Ma.
-
You allow it to set, then you need to clean.
-
So then it's like huh oh, now you need to
-
clean upstairs. Uh, move everything downstairs. So the workers move
-
everything downstairs. And and just this week I went to
-
my house, just this week, all right, I went to
-
the living room full of boxes and they're like, hey,
-
what what happened to all these boxes? They like, I
-
don't know the boss, you're our boss. Just tell us
-
to move up down, up down, up down. I tell you,
-
they move up down so many times, so many times,
-
and every time. Because the amount of boxes guys the
-
amount of things that we are not willing to throw,
-
it costs so much extra work for the workers, right
-
that sometimes they take days to move just the boxes.
-
So the hours that could have been spent fixing, renewing, transforming,
-
is spent moving the old things around. Are you guys
-
catching the point on that, Because just this week, just
-
a few days ago, leon I and I went over
-
to the house, we were still throwing all things away.
-
We're still throwing all things away, books, magazines, clothes, We're
-
still throwing all things and a lot of things that's
-
left behind. It makes it hot for the people to
-
do the work of transformation in our lives. So when
-
when we reflect it on our own life, right, we're
-
talking about renovation, we're talking about revival. Sometimes we're like that.
-
You know, God wants to renovate our lives. God comes
-
to you in your quiet time. God comes to you
-
in a church setting like this and say, Hey, you
-
need to let go of the old. But God, I
-
love this comfortable thing that I'm holding on to. Hey,
-
you need to go for prayer service, you know, But God,
-
it's such a hassle going through traffic on a Tuesday night. Hey,
-
you need to wake up. The need to do your
-
quiet time, you know, But God, I love my sleep.
-
A lot of our old habits all thinking. We're not
-
willing to move, and it makes it very hard for
-
God to do the renovation in our lives. If you
-
guys are catching my point. So what we end up doing,
-
we end up doing like what I tell the workers.
-
So we just shift things around. When God wants to
-
deal something, we ship downstairs upstairs, downsairs upstairs, downsairs upstairs.
-
But it's never dealt with. You know, all stuff needs
-
to be thrown out, not shifted around. But we are
-
expert in moving things. You know. Some of us have
-
been moving things in our hearts and our lives for decades.
-
I have my hands up I also shift things around.
-
I'm like God, no, now, not now, not DCL, not DCL.
-
Next year I'll improve. Next year, I'll improve. We're expert
-
in shifting when we should be ex but in throwing
-
things out of our lives. You guys are catching it
-
all right. We got to stop moving all stuff around
-
and we got to get rid of it. What God
-
might take weeks to sort out things in our lives? Right?
-
You know? You turn is only you turn twenty one
-
days of prayer and fast thing only twenty one days?
-
You know? Sometimes God just needs twenty one days, you know,
-
to sort out our lives. But because we're so good
-
that in like downstairs, God sometimes takes years to sort
-
out what's in our hearts. You know how I know
-
because when you read the word of God, remember the Israelites,
-
remember them in the wilderness. You know it took them
-
how many years? Forty years, guys, forty years for God
-
to test their hearts? You know it's written theme in scripture.
-
You know, if God didn't need to sort out their hearts,
-
you know how long with the Jenney te eleven days
-
eleven days versus forty years? Guys, wish on with you
-
one eleven days. But sometimes in our lives when we're
-
going through expansion, when we want the new God, I
-
want you. I want new Lord, new anointing, new blessing,
-
new grace, new mercy. Oh, I want to hold on
-
all hold on to the old habits. I want to
-
hold on to this old untia so much nostalgia. God,
-
I want to hold on to this way. But God,
-
this has always been the way. This has always been
-
the way I give offering. What should I change? Oh?
-
But God, this is the always been my way of
-
doing quiet time. W should I change? Then? How is
-
God going to give the new and we keep holding
-
on to the old? All right? Friends, everyone, okay, everyone, okay,
-
it's my as fa as fas all right, okay, all right.
-
I received this from the Lord and I'm just sharing
-
you my heart. I'm also going through this. I'm also
-
going through this. So how do we get rid of
-
the So like, hey, Joelle, you keep talking about getting
-
rid of the old. So you tell me how to
-
get the old. I will tell you how to getry
-
of the old, all right, Romans, Chapter twelve, Verse two. Okay,
-
So the word is prove. The word is prove. Romans,
-
Chapter twelve, verse two. The word proof in Greek is
-
doc in ad zo dock in at zo doc in
-
ad zo. All right, to test examine proof da da da.
-
But the last one I want us to focus on.
-
The word is deem worthy. The word is deem worthy
-
proof proof. When we're looking at Romans chapter twelve, verse two,
-
do not be conformed to the things of the world,
-
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
-
you may deem worthy what is good and acceptable and
-
perfect will of God. So when we look look at
-
our lives, Okay, Joelle, tell me now how to throw
-
See what it is worthy or note? Is it worthy
-
holding on to? Is it worthy representing God? Is that
-
something that's worthy of the name of Jesus? Is that
-
worthy for you to pass on to the next generation.
-
If it's not, let it go. If it's not, throw
-
it away, deem worthy proof proof everyone. Okay, deal with
-
your debris before it causes delay. What could take forty
-
years can be done in eleven days. Think about it, guys.
-
It's going with new costly, Yes, it's going with new,
-
going to demand sacrifice, Yes, it will. Every change that
-
is good and beneficial and that will improve us will
-
cost will require sacrifice imbuilding our house. We have to
-
get a lot, a lot of new things and it
-
costs a lot. But he also force us us to
-
carry off a lot of old things to make way
-
for the new. Amen. Everyone, Okay, when we want moving
-
on to oh oh oh oh oh stands for outline outline. Okay,
-
actually I wanted the word plan plan, but reno r
-
E n P. Can so r E n oh outline
-
outline or the plan? You know, when we go through
-
our renovation right from March twenty twenty four, let me
-
tell you what happened. So match twenty twenty four. You know,
-
we we we made the paid first payment to the contractor,
-
and we say, okay, we agree on the court, We
-
agree on what needs to be done and stuff like that.
-
So match twenty twenty four, Okay, first payment, go through,
-
project begin, Demolition work starts, demo demo, demo, demo, demo.
-
Demolition goes on in March, in April, in May, in June,
-
in August, demolition works still going on, you know, every
-
single month. And then right it reached a pointer towards
-
the end of twenty twenty four. Right, I go over
-
to the house right, because demo should be done in
-
Nima cornal demolition work can be. Demolition work is the
-
fastest and the eat like like such a stress relieving
-
job man hammering down walls, you know, and stuff like that.
-
So by towards the last quarter of twenty twenty four,
-
I went over to the house right, and guess what
-
I notice? I notice all the workers just sitting around. No,
-
just sitting around cheap chatting. Almost every other day that
-
I go over. I don't go there every day because
-
every day like no point. I go every other day
-
and the workers all just there one another, you know,
-
And I'm like, and every time, I guys, I'm not
-
exactually everything. Every time, hey Samapur, give boss, good morning,
-
good money, They're like, hey, so what are you guys
-
doing today? I don't know. I'm like, huh, what do
-
you mean, don't know? Waiting for the boss. Waiting for
-
the boss. They're like, uh, Boss, Heaven give instruction. I'm like,
-
Bo's Heaven gave you instruction? Okay, okay, I check with
-
the boss. I check the boss. So I go and
-
check with the boss, like, hey, Boss, I saw the
-
worker today. They're all just sitting around like, yeah, yeah,
-
I told them what to do today. Okay, all right.
-
A few days later I go over, I'm like, open
-
the door, and then you're like, hey, good morning, Hey
-
Morney Money. They're like, what are you guys doing today?
-
I don't know. You asked Leona. You asked Leona every
-
other day for months. He was like, and you know
-
what I found out. I found out the reason for
-
this cluelessness going on in the renovation was because the
-
workers didn't know what the plan was. They don't know
-
what to do. They don't know what to do. And
-
then when I checked why, and when I really dig
-
and checked, and I found out it's because they're way
-
for the boss man, right. The boss also got no
-
plan because the boss is supposed to come up with
-
a plan, you know, and outline of like, oh, this
-
is what we're gonna do, you know, wish room first,
-
which floor first? But it was never shaped with me.
-
If it was never shut with me, means the boss
-
heaven't do. If it's never shaped with me to approve,
-
boss haven't do, means got nothing to pass on to
-
the workers to do. So that's why they every day,
-
every day, every day, that's what they're doing every day
-
for months, and I'm wondering what's going on, what's going on?
-
And of course, you know, after being frustrated with all
-
the different things, you know that I got to homes help.
-
He came came out with a plan, He came up
-
with an outline for the workers, and then things started
-
progressing to March twenty twenty six. He came in in
-
a I believe March twenty twenty five much. I just
-
checked what'sapp last night, So yeah, thank you, thank you, Jean.
-
So in our lives, when we want revival, when we
-
want revival, we need to random weight our lives, expansion
-
new We got to have a plan and outline. When
-
there's no outline, there's no plan, then there's unnecessary delays
-
and there's a lot of wastages, waste of any, waste
-
of money. And revival begins with renovating our lives. And
-
to accomplish that, right, we need someone like a Chune
-
Hong to come in with a plan. And he is saying,
-
this is where all the wiring will go, This is
-
where you should place your fan, This is where you
-
should place your air con, This is where the best
-
angle of the toilet this is where there's a plan,
-
there's an outline because he's expected it, his experience in it.
-
And then and then Chantong is going through like, oh,
-
this is where we should place the security systems as well.
-
We should consider this for the children. Is it friendly
-
for the older folks? You know that will be going
-
up and down? Is it okay? We have to think
-
about all that. So when there's a plan, you look
-
into all the details. You're going to look into all
-
the execution. Then we got to think about how when
-
there's a plan means nothing happens by accident. Revival doesn't
-
come by accident. Revival doesn't come if all right, good
-
morning everyone, you know, brush tape, get ready to go
-
to work. Revive you know in the middle of the road.
-
It doesn't happen by accident. Man, you know, it doesn't happen.
-
You know why you're doing work in your office, emails
-
in office. No, it doesn't happen. Revival happens because there's
-
a plan for it. There's a plan for it, and
-
we have a part to play in it. Everyone, Okay,
-
So we got to ask ourselves how is a quiet time?
-
These are basic things, but it is important. How is
-
our giving onto the Lord? Have we started serving? God
-
wants you to sacrifice our social media can and not?
-
Are you under disciple ship? You can't ranovate until that's
-
a plan. You can't better your life until there's a plan.
-
You can allow God to transform you until there's a plan.
-
And who has the best plan? God? God has the
-
best plan. You know when we started the renovation, right,
-
this is the plan I came out with. I don't
-
know what is what you ask me now? I also
-
don't know what this is. You know, guys, I just
-
know that that's a doll because it looks like a
-
slice of pizza. That's about it. And then when you
-
have someone that has experienced, someone who's a master, someone
-
who's an expert, come in to come out with a plan.
-
This is how it looks like. This is how it
-
looks like. And sometimes you're thinking, out of our lives,
-
where is my breakthrough? Where is my testimony? Where is this?
-
Where is my dad? Where is my anoint thing? Why
-
am I still struggling through these kind of situations? You
-
gotta look at your own plan, you know, you gotta
-
look at your own plan, and you're gonna wonder it
-
doesn't seem like looks Let's look at our own plan,
-
our own plan, Matthias. Yeah, I don't know where quiet
-
time looks like in this. I don't know what offering
-
enties look like in this. I don't know what is what.
-
But when we surrender our lives to someone that can
-
do a proper plan for us, and we follow accordingly,
-
then we'll know how our quiet time will look like.
-
We'll know where to prioritize different things. There's an order.
-
Revival doesn't come by accident. It comes because there's a
-
plan for it. There's a plan towards it. Okay, eron
-
all right, Jeremiah twenty nine, verse eleven. What does it
-
say for? I know the okay, seven of you got
-
it for? I know the plans I have for you. Friends.
-
If you are wondering, right, oh, this year, what's God's
-
plan for me? What's my plan? Who knows the plan?
-
God knows the plan? Ask God, Ask God to come
-
up with an outline for your lives so that you
-
can know what to prioritize, what to focus, what to
-
expand what to throw away to welcome the new. We
-
need a plan, everyone, Okay, if you want revival, follow
-
the one that has planned. Now, okay, so e and
-
oh done? Everyone, All right, let's go back to the
-
r eyon. Okay, we're about to close. We're about to close. Ready, Okay,
-
we want to end with our and our stands for
-
reasonable Romans Chapter twelve, verse one. Romans, Chapter twelve, verse
-
one says I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies
-
of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice
-
holy acceptable to God? Which is your reasonable? So when
-
I read this scripture, right, I'm like, what is reasonable?
-
What is reasonable? Subjective? You know, what is reasonable to you?
-
Maybe reason? Maybe it may not be my reasonable correct
-
or not. You'll be like, we need no one needs
-
a new shoeler, new shoer. We can buy this one.
-
It's about uh, you know, fifteen ring, Like fifteen ring
-
it that sounds unreasonable, Joelle. And I'm like, huh, fifty ring,
-
I'm reasonable. Then get the nine nine and I on, Okay,
-
that sounds reasonable. You know. We are we going for
-
lunch and after this and then we're like, can I
-
you know, get this or they're like, oh, you know
-
he went up one ring? When up one ringate, that's
-
so unreasonable, and then you go to another person like, oh,
-
we're not one ring when you go, oh, thank god man,
-
because the other stor rang up to ring it. You know,
-
so what is reasonable to you and to another percent
-
may be different. I thought to reasonable is so subjective,
-
you know, how how are we going to be able
-
to break this down? But let's let's let's look at it.
-
What is unreasonable first? What's unreasonable? Unreasonable is let me
-
tell you a renovation without a plan. Unreasonable Is renovation
-
without a plan? Why? Because every day I have to
-
go through the site and the workers are just you know,
-
doing that. That's unreasonable. Unreasonable is renovation without removing the
-
rubbish that we're supposed to get rid off? Unreasonable? That's unreasonable.
-
It's unreasonable to stick with the old ways, compromise your
-
structure and foundation? Is it unreasonable? That's unreasonable? But if
-
you look at this portion of Scripture and Romans, chapter twelve,
-
verse one, and we go into the Greek. All right, guys,
-
we're about to rap parady okay, running the last leap
-
the word the word reason, Okay. I think that's the
-
type of the reasonable is logic costs. Logic costs this
-
is the word logic comes from reasonable logic costs in Greek.
-
And what does it mean pertaining to speech or speaking
-
pertaining to the reason or logic? Agreeable to reason, following reason, logical, logical?
-
Everyone okay with the meaning? So I thought to myself,
-
so reasonable means logical. Okay, that's not too hard to understand. Now.
-
Now I decided to like, wait, what is the root
-
word of logic costs? And I was led by the
-
Lord to study the root word of logicals. And the
-
root word of logic causse is logos. Everyone knows what
-
logos mean. It's not as a shipper. Everyone knows what
-
logos mean. Logos means the word of God. Logos means
-
the word of God, a word uttered by a living voice,
-
the sayings of God, decree, mandate, or all the moral
-
precepts given by God. So the word reasonable here when
-
we go into the root meaning, the Greek root meaning
-
what reasonable is is the same as in John Chapter one,
-
verse one, reasonable logos logic, Cause that's the word. The
-
word in the beginning was the word, and the word
-
was with God, and the word was God. Reasonable is
-
what God is saying, all right? So if you guys
-
are still wondering, Oh, what does reasonable mean? How do
-
I receive revival in my life? How do I go
-
through renovation to us to welcome revival. Let's look at
-
Romans chapter twelve. It's okay. This is the portion of
-
scripture that we started today with. Romans Chapter twelve, Verse
-
one to two. I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the
-
mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living
-
sacrifice holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
-
And do not be conformed to this world, but be
-
transformed by the reading of our mind, that you may
-
prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will
-
of God. So if you replace the word reasonable to
-
the root meaning of what reasonable means, which is logic, costs,
-
and logosts, Let's let's read the scripture again. Let's read
-
the scripture again, and this is how it sounds. I
-
beseech you, therefore, I think it should be the next line.
-
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
-
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice wholly acceptable
-
to God, which is your what God says service. And
-
do not be confirmed to this world. So if you're wondering, right,
-
what is reasonable? It's not subjective. Reasonable is what God says.
-
So the next time we're wondering, what is my reasonable service?
-
Because reasonable can be subjective. Man, No, it's not subjective
-
when we go down to the root meaning of it.
-
Reasonable is what is God telling you to do. What
-
is God telling you to expand in your life? What
-
is God telling you to renew in your life? To
-
get rid in your life? To stop holding on in
-
your life? What is God telling you in terms of
-
the plan and the outline of your life? He knows
-
your end, He knows our every why not we seek him?
-
He knows every single detail or life. He has a plan.
-
So our reasonable service is what God says. What is
-
God saying to us today? What is God saying to you?
-
What is God saying to me this morning? Friends? If
-
we want revival, if we want God to transform our life,
-
we need to do what God says. And if you're
-
wondering how this wel comes revival, if we do what
-
God says Verse two doesn't start with the word all
-
He starts with the word, and the formula to welcome
-
revival in our lives is to do what God says
-
and don't be conformed to this world. And he continues everyon, Okay, everyon. Okay,
-
I have a problem with told. Sometimes I sound very stern.
-
I love you guys, all right, all right, I'm just
-
sharing you. You're from my heart. Okay, eeryon, Okay, do
-
what God says, Do what God says. Okay, reasonable expansion,
-
new and outline. Okay, we're gonna close. Can welcome the
-
extremity on stage? Amen. I hope you guys receive something.
-
Revival is not something that happens by accident. Revival is
-
something that we prepare ourselves for it. We need to
-
prepare for revival. We prepare revival by allowing God to
-
renovate our lives. And how does God ranovate our lives?
-
Are e? And Oh, we gotta do what God says.
-
That's the first thing. We gotta do what God says. E.
-
We gotta expand. Stop being so small, stop thinking so small,
-
stop making your heart so small. Make it big so
-
we can receive more, so we can do more, so
-
we can be more, so we can well come more
-
people in our lives. You want revival, you need new wine.
-
But to receive new wine, we're gonna get rid of
-
the old wine skins. There's so many things in our
-
lives that were shifting around, moving upstairs, moving downstairs, moving
-
to the corner room, moving to this room that no
-
one opens, the door, no one touches. It's a storeroom
-
in our hearts. My God is telling us this morning,
-
car rid of the old thing, carry of the old mentality,
-
get rid of the old perspective. That's how I used
-
to run my cell group. Lord, that's the whole way.
-
What am I telling you this morning? My God? This
-
is how I give. That's that's the way you gave
-
last time. How should you give this year twenty twenty six?
-
You're earning more. Shouldn't you give more? You're blessed with more.
-
Shouldn't you bless others? You're given more time now, shouldn't
-
you give more time to God? But we're filling it
-
with all other things you know that we shouldn't be
-
filling it with. Then we end up compromising our structure. New,
-
new guys, come on, new. We gotta have an outline.
-
We've got to have a plan. Revival doesn't come by accident.
-
You know how I know when you read all the
-
stories of revival, right, the revival you know in baklaaland
-
the revival in Barrio, the revival in the US, you know,
-
the revival in Pensacola. I've read all these different revival
-
stories and you know what, there's so many similarities. You know,
-
it doesn't happen by accident, doesn't happened in back La
-
la Na. You know that they are just tending to
-
their field and then suddenly the spirit got to come
-
upon them. No, they hunger for God. It comes to
-
so much desire of one thing to be transformed by
-
the renewing of their minds that they welcome revival. How
-
is twenty twenty six for you, guys? How is twenty
-
twenty six for me? How can we keep on with
-
the old and expect the new to come? We can't
-
operate like that. We can't operate like that. When you
-
read how revival happens in the Old, you know how
-
it's going to happen again the same way. You know
-
how I know it's the same God, same God, So
-
it's going to be the same way. It requires sacrifice,
-
It requires us getting read of the old to welcome
-
God in our lives. And in closing, I just want
-
to every eyes closed and every hit put in this place.
-
You know, we heard this famous phrase many times. You know,
-
we heard him mentioned in movies, many times, we heard
-
him mentioned even in conversations with different people. We always
-
hear people saying that, hey, you know, when you want patience, right,
-
God doesn't give you patience. You know, he gives you
-
the opportunity to practice patience. Sometimes. You know, when you
-
want to be courageous, right, you don't just say God, God,
-
I want to be courageous. No, no, no, God does
-
give you courage. He gives you the opportunity to be courageous.
-
So if I tweak the question, friends, as we close,
-
we keep saying we want revival, we want revival. We
-
even pray that. You know, sometimes God sand revival, sand revival.
-
But you know, actually the question is God is giving
-
you opportunity to welcome revival. He's not just gonna drop revival.
-
He's not just gonna drop courage. He's not just gonna
-
drop patience. He's gonna give you the opportune to receive revival.
-
It starts with you, It starts in your heart, It
-
starts in your quiet time, It starts in the way
-
you give. It starts in the way you serve, It
-
starts in the way you look at people. It starts
-
in the way you seek him. And when you welcome revival,
-
revival will come upon his life.
