You're listening to a message to go from axt church.
-
We hope this message will light up your tea.
-
Who is Jesus to you? Who is Jesus to you?
-
Have a think about it. I give you like maybe
-
fifteen seconds to.
-
Tickle your brain. Leona, who's Jesus to you? My best friend?
-
Will not? Joeller? Oh? So which best friend? Come first? Best? Best? Both? Also?
-
Best friend?
-
War?
-
Okay? Okay? Eddie? Who's Jesus to you? Everything? Oh? Deep?
-
Deep?
-
Joel? Who's Jesus to you? God? The answer? It's a
-
good answer, good answer, Selena. Who's Jesus to you? Best friend?
-
Best friend? Best friend? John? Who's Jesus to you? Savior? Okay?
-
Something different? Different answer? What about the rest of you?
-
Would you give me.
-
Sort of an answer that you know it's the first
-
thing that comes to your mind. Who is Jesus to you?
-
He is God? He is Lord?
-
Okay? Okay? Any other answers? Savior, I hear Savior? Elaine? Sorry,
-
the way the truth life? Okay? Okay, okay? Or giving
-
all biblical answers now? Are Father? Okay? Okay okay. Ginny,
-
who's Jesus to you? Father? Father? Okay? Now? I think
-
this is a very deep question.
-
Because the answer to this question will determine how you
-
live the rest of your life. This question, you see,
-
the thing is right. I know we've been in the
-
faith for a while, and I think it really it's
-
worthwhile to ask ourselves this question because if you ask
-
someone else who is Jesus to them, they will either
-
say he is a legend, right, someone all the times
-
in the Bible, right, he could be a legend, or
-
if they don't believe who Jesus was, they could actually
-
say he's a liar, liar, like do you actually believe
-
everything that you read?
-
Think about it?
-
Do you actually take note of every single commandment, every
-
single rate letter in your Bible and believe in that.
-
If there are some verses that you do not believe,
-
then what it actually means is you're saying, God, you
-
know some parts, I believe the other parts.
-
I take it as a pinch liar. Right.
-
Some people might think that Jesus is a lunatic crazy, right,
-
I mean, think about it, he is the way the
-
truth is alivee. No one comes to the Father except
-
through me.
-
I mean in Malaysia, like say crazy, do you really
-
and then you know, he says someone, if you do
-
not eat of my flesh, you cannot be part of me.
-
Whoa colt?
-
Sorry, and drink of my blood? And anyone drank jesus blood
-
run right, it's a cow. Seriously, you're eating flesh, human flesh.
-
And you're drinking blood.
-
Okay, but Jesus says, if you don't do that, you
-
cannot be a part of me.
-
And that's why all of them.
-
Left except for the top disciples. Right, because this encounter
-
with who are you Lord? Who is Jesus to you?
-
Is everything? Is he really everything?
-
We can say it, but the way you live your
-
life shows me what you really believe in.
-
Right.
-
The thing is very easy to say, Jesus is God,
-
Jesus is my shepherd. It's easy to say. Anyone can
-
say that. The question that I have for you is
-
does your life shoot? Because if you can come to
-
this point where you say he is Lord, then you
-
are going to live your life very differently from how
-
you think about. You know, some most people think Jesus
-
was a good teacher. Yeah, good teacher, very good teaching.
-
Some them think that he's a miracle worker, right healing.
-
Some thought that Jesus, and many of us think. You know,
-
when we think about God as our shepherd, he cares
-
for us. God is our provider, Jesus our provider. He
-
provides for our needs. But you see, all these things
-
can be suck of who God really wants us to
-
relate with him?
-
Right?
-
He can be you know how Okay? Your parents right?
-
Your God parents right? How many of you sometimes treat
-
your parents like adm machine when you're younger, as a
-
campus student, teenager, you got no money?
-
Right?
-
Mom? Every time it's your mom gifty ringate please?
-
Or you see your dad?
-
You know I need money for this, I need money
-
go dating. You never treat that your parents like that?
-
Are well, you're such good people are, But we can
-
treat God like that. You can go to God and
-
just say, yeah, you know if you know, we had
-
a really good time at homes right talking about all
-
those and our Yet those things may not happen as
-
we want it to be or see it to be.
-
Yet what is your response to God?
-
Right? And the thing is right?
-
It's very easy to blame God. Have you ever blamed God?
-
Because then that will determine how you view him. Okay,
-
now let's go to where I want to get that.
-
So let's turn to our bibles. Bring your bibles out,
-
and I just want to encourage you to bring your
-
physical Bible to church, you know, nothing like really reading
-
God's word. Yeah, I have nothing against digital Bible. But
-
if you really want to be a real student of
-
the world of God, yeah, then I want to encourage
-
you to. Yeah, make that a habit. Make that a habit. Okay,
-
all right, Now, you know this guy called Sauw. Yeah,
-
you know this guy called Saul. He came onto the
-
scene in X chapter eight. And by the way, right,
-
do you know that the Book of X, which is
-
our name X church, right, is derived from the Book
-
of X. But some people think that it is the
-
X of the Apostles because that's what you see, right, Yeah,
-
X of the Apostles.
-
Amazing things that they do.
-
But I want to say that it was the act
-
of the.
-
Holy Spirit through the Apostles.
-
And I want to give the acknowledgment back to the
-
Holy Spirit because without the Holy Spirit, remember they were
-
waiting for the Holy Spirit.
-
Without the Holy Spirit, do you think that they could
-
have done anything that they did? Nothing?
-
So to God be the glory and not men, right,
-
it was not the men, but it was the Holy Spirit.
-
So we want to focus on that. So you know
-
that X chapter eight, Saul came to the scene. Let's
-
read verse one. Now, you know that before that there
-
was this really angel of God.
-
His name is Stephen. Any Stephens here or is it Stephan?
-
Is it Stephen Stephen, Stephen Stephen? Right?
-
So Stephen he Yeah, he was being martyred and the
-
one that gave the approval at the time was mister Saul. Right,
-
So let's read verse one. Now, Saul was consenting to
-
his death. At that time, a great persecution arose against
-
the church which was at Jerusalem, and they were all
-
scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria except the apostles.
-
All right, okay, so that's a little bit about where
-
Saul came onto the scene. But you know that Saul
-
had an encounter. Yeah, Saul did not start off being
-
a great Christian. Anyone right of you here would like
-
mister Saul to be your pastor of this church?
-
No, what was he doing.
-
Let's go to Acts chapter nine, just one chapter after that.
-
Let's go X chapter nine. Okay, so let's see who
-
is this soul. So Saul's verse one says this dance. Saul,
-
still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord,
-
went to the high priests and asked letters from him
-
to the synagogues of the Mascus, so that if he
-
found any who were of the Way, whether men or women,
-
he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
-
All right, you know the context of this. So what
-
was Saul trying to do? Put all of you in prison? Hello?
-
Imagine someone came up and say, okay, who are those
-
who believe that they are followers of the Way. Are
-
you ready to go to the jail? Are you ready
-
to go to Malaysian lock up?
-
Are you.
-
Someone comes in right now, right here, and say, any
-
of you you're meeting definitely, this is a church, and
-
it says, if you profess Jesus to be your Lord
-
and savior, let's go to prison right now. How many
-
of you would deny Jesus?
-
How many? Deep question?
-
Now, real question, you know, because this is exactly what
-
Saul was doing. Would you be afraid of Saul?
-
You would be?
-
And that time would you say, oh, Jesus is my everything,
-
Let's go.
-
Who is Jesus to you. So that's mister Saul. Verse three.
-
As he journeyed, he came near Damascus, and suddenly a
-
light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to
-
the ground and heard a voice saying to them to him, saw,
-
why are you persecuting me? I want to say right
-
that in our lives? Do you know that God is
-
always pursuing us? God is pursuing us. You know, someone
-
asked me this question, No, why do you believe in Jesus?
-
You know, why do you choose him to be?
-
I came to this realization, No, God chose me. It
-
wasn't that I chose God. I had to make that
-
decision after that. But he chose me first. He pursued
-
me everything that he did. Do you know Jesus came
-
to earth to seek and save the loss? Are you lost?
-
We don't recognize that we are lost? Right, most of
-
us are blinded. But Jesus says, that's the whole reason
-
why he came. What do you think Jesus came to
-
earth to give you a blessing to heal you? Why
-
did he have to come to earth because he was
-
seeking to say the lost? And if we never recognize
-
that we are lost in the first place, then we
-
will not recognize him for who he is.
-
Right, And so so Jesus came.
-
You see the things right, This soul was persecuting him,
-
and God designed and encountered just for him.
-
This is an encounter you no, do you know? Right?
-
Sometimes our idea of God is like, oh God, you know,
-
why don't you just punish all the bad people and
-
you know, and just bless all the good people. Someone
-
asked me that question. Why God doesn't just punish all
-
the bad people?
-
Right there? I look at this person and say, are
-
you that good? Ouch? No, we have this idea of good.
-
And bad right that he the person who you know murdered, stole, committed. Right,
-
those guys are bad and we are pretty good. Right,
-
We don't do all those kind of things.
-
We were okay?
-
Why hello, respectable people, We are okay, we have good jobs,
-
good families. So then we say, God, you punish all
-
the bad people. And God looks at us? And how
-
does God look at us?
-
He sees us for who we are? Sinners? Sinners?
-
How many of us there to say we have not
-
seen against God? How many of us that I've lived
-
a righteous life?
-
No? Right.
-
So this encounter with Jesus came upon Saul, and in
-
verse four he says, he fell to the ground, right,
-
you know what happened to him?
-
He fell to the ground.
-
He was blinded right because the vision the light was
-
so bright that he could not see anyone.
-
Have you tried staring at the sun before? Don't do it? Okay?
-
But we as you don't do You're all God, I
-
want to see that's us as you don't do something
-
out there? You want to do it? Okay, So go
-
look at the sun. Ah, don't look at the s
-
u n look at the s.
-
O end jay okay. So the voice said to him, So,
-
so why are you persecuting me?
-
Have we persecuted Jesus? Is it possible to persecute Jesus
-
or not? How do we do it? How do we
-
prosecute Jesus? Hard question?
-
Most of us saying, God, I didn't do anything wrong,
-
word right.
-
But the moment we don't do what's right, the moment
-
we disobeyed, I think we have already persecuted Jesus. I
-
know this is really tough stuff, man, something for you
-
to really think about, because you know, Ah, at the
-
end of it, you know there's this other verse.
-
Okay, I'll go into that later. Okay.
-
Anyways, he says, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? So?
-
Can you imagine if you're Saul right, you're walking. I'm like,
-
he's breeding threats and murderers. Yeah, I want to bring
-
all these Christians right? Do you know that he was
-
actually zealous for God? Don't get me wrong, h he
-
was a pharisee, the pharisee of the Pharisees. He's like
-
pop Guru, pop spiritual guru.
-
He is zealous for the things of God.
-
Do you know that you can be zealous for the
-
things of God and get it wrong. You can be
-
you can be a pastor and get it wrong. You
-
can be a church leader and get it wrong. It's
-
a perception of who is Jesus to you?
-
Right? And so he says, Saul, so, why are you
-
persecuting me?
-
And look at the question that soul goes to him,
-
and I think it's a really good question, he says,
-
and he said in verse five, who are you Lord?
-
Who are you? Who are you you? Okay, let me
-
ask you this question. Do you think that he doesn't
-
know who Jesus is as a man, did you. I mean,
-
he's the whole reason, right, isn't Jesus the whole reason
-
why he went on this whole you know, crusade to kill,
-
to put all Christians into prison. So don't you think
-
he knows who? He thinks he knows who Jesus is
-
were He's just someone, He's a fraud. He's trying to
-
turn the Jewish people away from Moses's law. See zealous
-
are but is a wrongly placed zealousness?
-
Right?
-
He was saying, no, no, they all must follow the
-
Jewish laws. And this guy is teaching completely different things, right,
-
tell us for the things of God. But he does
-
not know who Jesus is, Okay, And so he says,
-
who are you?
-
Lord?
-
Now, when I think about it, I'm like, hey, but
-
why you call him lord? Because the thing is like,
-
who are you?
-
Lah? You know you would you would? You would not
-
acknowledge this person as Lord.
-
Yet because when I when I studied further, I realized
-
that Lord has two meanings. The Lord that we know
-
it is we acknowledge him as God.
-
The other lot is just sir, right.
-
Because you think about it, right, he was walking nicely
-
and then suddenly he lost his eyesight.
-
He was on the ground.
-
Something supernatural happened, like shown around him.
-
Right, you would you be scared? Anyone?
-
Would you be scared? Suddenly you lost your eyesight? You
-
probably like, what in the world is happening to me?
-
Right now? Okay?
-
And then he heard a voice. Anyone heard a voice before?
-
You're like, no, let me hear this kind of voice.
-
And the voice came and saying is an accusation? No,
-
why are you persecuting me? So I think he knew
-
who that voice belonged to, but he did not know
-
who Jesus is. So so this word lord, actually, right,
-
there's two usage. One is acknowledging someone of a higher authority. Right.
-
It's just like if suddenly some inspector come in, you
-
won't call him lord. You will say, sir, what is it?
-
Sir?
-
You know what do you want? Sir?
-
Out of respect, out of honor. Right, And so this
-
is the word that is being used at this point.
-
So he's basic saying who are you, sir? Because he
-
knows that he's under some higher powers. You know, you
-
come to a life where you know and you acknowledge
-
that there's higher powers right, So he says, who are you, sir?
-
And what did Jesus say to him?
-
Then? The Lord said, I am Jesus. I am Jesus
-
whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to
-
kick against the goats. Now, I think I shed this
-
last year. Do you remember what kicking the goats against
-
the gods mean?
-
Anyone? What is kicking against the goads? Ever? Read this
-
and god like, I don't know what is this? Man? Kick?
-
Kick against a kick the bucket, you know, kicking against
-
the goads?
-
Anyone? What does that mean? Don't know? No idea?
-
Okay, So basically this is it's a very common Roman
-
or Greek hooverb.
-
Right, it's basically your say it's useless.
-
It's useless for you to resist the higher authority or
-
divine powers. Right. Now, there's a picture of this. Can
-
you see the animals there? What they do in ancient days, right,
-
is they are trying to guide the animals to walk
-
on a straight path. Right, That's what the shepherd does.
-
And what they have is a stick with a pointy thing.
-
Don't use this on your children, please. You're saying, like, hey,
-
children walk straight, right, and you put them Okay, have
-
you seen children on leash before? Okay, I don't know
-
what your thoughts out about that, but anyways, it's because
-
these kids always go get lost and missing. Right, So
-
so that the shepherd, what they do is the moment
-
the bulls or the cattle they turn to the left
-
or to the right, what.
-
Do they do preak.
-
So that you continue on the straight, like like, okay,
-
you're supposed to go straight right and then you're going
-
to the left. Now what will happen? Oh, then you
-
will naturally react right and turn back to this to
-
the RCT side. So he's telling Saul is useless. What
-
you're trying to do. You are trying to go against
-
the work of God. That's what the messaging is. And
-
Saul got the message. We all like, we don't understand
-
that if Jesus say that to us, and we're like, God, mare, Jesus,
-
I don't understand. Give me a modern day context it.
-
We're like, just just follow Mela. He's useless for you
-
to fight against me.
-
Right now? What is this? What is this throading freaking
-
that Saul has been feeling?
-
Now, I think all of us, all of us have
-
this preaking in our conscience.
-
Yeah, all of us have that. And and I think it's.
-
You will know it right when the Holy Spirit pricks
-
you and say is this you right?
-
Is this you got?
-
And you know how we know how was been convicted.
-
It's because he saw how Stephen die? How did Stephen die?
-
Did he was he shouting? Was he like saying, I'm
-
gonna get you back for this. God's gonna curse you.
-
No, right, it's not.
-
He saw how Stephen died in the most peaceful death.
-
And he says, do not hold this against them. Wow,
-
someone dying, Ah, what will you think?
-
First?
-
No, you are the worst person the last face I
-
will remember because I'll come back and haunt you as
-
a ghost. Too much Ghost story Area. I didn't watch
-
ghost Storry.
-
Okay, no, hey, but do you know the spirits are real?
-
I am. There's someone new in Subang.
-
She just started coming and she's very sensitive to the
-
spirit and so she sees things right.
-
And she says, do you want to know what Jesus?
-
Like, I say, really, you see Jesus, Yeah, I see
-
Jesus sometimes I see him walking in the church, Like, really,
-
what is Jesus doing? And he says, Jesus is just
-
walking row by Roe. He's just walking row by Roe.
-
No, and he just wants to be in the presence
-
of his people.
-
Wow, I got goost bounce when I heard it. I'm like, Jesus,
-
are you here right now? Jesus, are you sending beside me?
-
I want you to be with me. We forget, you know,
-
we forget that Jesus is within us, you know, and
-
we can we do everything in life. And because we
-
are visual people we don't see means we forget la.
-
Right.
-
So yeah, anyways, why are you persecuting me this question?
-
You know?
-
Who is Jesus to you?
-
It goes deeper because when he went that way in
-
verse six. Let's continue reading on verse six, he says,
-
so he trembling and astonished.
-
Do you okay? Do you think at this.
-
Point he already knows who Jesus is to him?
-
Not yet? Right? It sounds as though it's like who
-
are you? Who are you? Sir? It's still a who
-
are you sir? Right?
-
Do you know that transformation doesn't happen like that. It's
-
not immediate. Okay, I'm gonna do something. I'm gonna ask
-
everyone to stand up for a bit. Everyone stand up,
-
I censor. I'm going against the flesh, which is sleepiness.
-
So everyone, can you just take a minute to stand,
-
stretch yourself, you know, so that you will hear what
-
God wants to say to us. I can see sleepiness
-
in your eyes. Are you feeling better? Feeling better? Feeling better?
-
If you want to stay standing, you can as well.
-
If you're ready to sit, you may take your seat. Yeah, okay,
-
you can take a seat.
-
Drink water, a bit of a blood flow. Do you know?
-
Sometimes I realize that when you're trying to bring across
-
a word from the Lord, the flesh comes, you know,
-
and you're like, I don't know why I'm so sleepy.
-
Maybe you had a late night. It's okay, But the
-
fight against the flesh is burial. I have seen ten
-
people y in the last ten minutes. I'm not serious.
-
I'm not kidding you. I'm counting in my head. Start
-
counting a.
-
So now you're like fastar ding water.
-
First during water Okay, okay, no, no, this is deep water,
-
deep work that the spirit wants to do for us,
-
and I think we need to pay attention. Okay, can
-
we pay attention to what God is trying to say?
-
To us. So then he he said, Lord, do you
-
what do you want me to do?
-
Another question? Have you asked God when he encounters you?
-
What do you want me to do?
-
Those who say He is your everything? Right? Do you
-
ask him about everything in your life? Lord? What do
-
you want me to do? Everything? You know? Meaning God?
-
Which job shall I take? It's like, oh yeah, this
-
is the.
-
Best one, convenient for me, highest paying salary, career development growth.
-
Where is the God? Where do you want me to be?
-
Where is that?
-
It's almost like he's an afterthought after you have all
-
these things that you want, right, Like, okay, God, can
-
you just give me this job? Because I already know
-
what I want? You see what I mean by we
-
can say God is everything? But is God in everything
-
of your life?
-
What kind of job? How you use your money? Your finances?
-
How you use your time? Do you know how to
-
raise your family? Do you do?
-
You go and read all kinds of parenting books, but
-
you forget to say.
-
God, how do you want me to raise this child?
-
Your child?
-
That is when you really acknowledge him as Lord, you
-
know over every single thing of our lives.
-
Many times we reduce God.
-
To a Sunday or homes or prayer service, and we say, God,
-
you are in this compartment two hours.
-
That's all I give you. Then he is not Lord.
-
He's religion to you. He's a feel good I've done
-
my checklist.
-
I've done my checklist, I've done this, all of this.
-
You know I'm a good Christian. My leaders will pat
-
me and say well done to him. You know your
-
place are well, you use your gift things. But in
-
our private lives, is he Lord? Is he Lord? I'm
-
gonna ask you this question, you get it. Who is
-
he to you? There was this story shared to me
-
by one of our colleagues in Iran. This is a
-
real story. You know. You know Christianity is not allowed there,
-
right and so and this is talking to you parents.
-
Ah, so the.
-
Authorities came and the worst thing is they don't persecute you.
-
They persecute you in the worst way possible. Your children.
-
Is that the daughter is there and he says you
-
deny Jesus.
-
If you don't deny.
-
Jesus, your daughter will die. We will kill her in
-
front of you. So what's a good parent to do?
-
What would you do?
-
Sorry, save the child because you think that's the Christian
-
thing to do, right, that's a good.
-
Parent thing to do. But because this knew who Jesus was,
-
he says, I will never deny Jesus.
-
You can do and what you want until my child.
-
I'm going to see her again. And so he looked
-
at a child and he says, I'm going to see
-
you again. I don't know what you think about this Parentah,
-
it's a really hard question, but you know the end
-
of it, right, was what was the girl's response? This
-
little girl, she knows that she's the sacrifice, and she
-
said to the father Papa, I'll see you soon, and
-
they kill her.
-
They both knew who Jesus was to them. Do you
-
do you know who Jesus is to you?
-
I think these are a very sobering because we live
-
in the world where there will be many things that
-
will buy for it's lordship over us. There are many
-
things that's a lot over our lives, you know. So
-
I just want to challenge this thought that when we
-
say Jesus is everything in our lives, is he really.
-
Or are there other things that is lording it over us?
-
There are many things vying for your lordship.
-
Do you know that the temptation of Jesus was Satan
-
brought him to the highest towers of the mountain, at
-
the peak of this building, and he says, all this
-
I will give to you if you will bow not
-
and worship me. And Jesus says, away from me, right,
-
because you shall worship the Lord, your God and serve
-
him only Jesus knew who his father was, right, and
-
he refused, even if you kill me.
-
So what I know who you are. We struggle with that,
-
We struggle with knowing who God is.
-
And I think because of that that's caused a lot
-
of misconception about what Christianity is. Yeah, so he says,
-
of course, the Lord told him, arise and go into
-
the city, and you will be told what you must do. Right,
-
And in verse eighty says saw a rose from the ground,
-
and when his eyes were open, he saw no one.
-
But they led him by the hand and brought him
-
into Damascus. Now you see the thing is right. It
-
starts with an encounter. But this encounter doesn't remain there.
-
It would lead you to a place of deep search.
-
I want to ask you, have you really been in
-
this place where you are wrestling with the Lord? Have
-
you you think about your how did you come to
-
know the law yer? Think about when you came don't
-
tell me My parents were Christians and so I just
-
continued coming to church.
-
And encounter with the lot will bring you to this place.
-
Of deep search, deep questions, you know, hard questions that
-
will cause you to really.
-
Struggle with who is he? Oh? Is he? Lord? Is he?
-
Are you just a good teacher? You know?
-
Are you just a good moral teacher? Are you just
-
a miracle? Are you just a provider for me? And
-
verse nine, Acts nine, and he was three days without sight,
-
neither ate nor drink This place of it seems darkness
-
to me, you know, no sight, no food nor water,
-
just deep struggle, a deep search. And without this deep
-
search to this question, there will be no transformation. And
-
you know that Saul was transformed, right, You might just
-
read it it's like, oh, three verses later than he
-
was trying to form, But do you know that it
-
took time.
-
It was real struggle. There was probably real tears.
-
Everything that Saul had built, his whole identity, his whole
-
life on was being questioned by this question, who are you?
-
Lord?
-
I thought I knew you, I thought I know my God.
-
But now who is this Jesus whom I'm trying to
-
bring down? You know, Wow, what a deep struggle.
-
Do you know that?
-
Interestingly, God was not only working in Saul. See, yeah,
-
the thing is god One's transformation, and it wasn't only
-
for Saul.
-
Look at Anonius.
-
Yeah, let's look at let's read X chapter nine, verse ten.
-
Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus name Ananius,
-
and the Lord and to him, the Lord said in
-
a vision, Annius, And he said, here I am Lord.
-
So the Lord said to him, arise and go to the.
-
Street called Straight and inquire at the house of Judas
-
for one called Saul of Tasses.
-
For behold, he is praying.
-
You see in that three days he was not just
-
you know, like, oh, you know, looking for medical treatment.
-
He was not saying, look, just heal my sight. He
-
was praying, looking for answers. And I pray for some
-
of us here right now. I think we need to
-
come to this place, a real search, real search.
-
Verse twelve.
-
And in a vision he has seen a man named
-
So this is God speaking to Ananaius in a vision.
-
He's talking about Saul. Now, in a vision he has
-
seen a man named Annaius coming in and putting his
-
hand on him so that he might receive his side.
-
Now look at Anonaiu's response.
-
Then Anonaius answered, Lord, I've heard from many about this man,
-
how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem.
-
And here he has authority from the chief priest to
-
bind all who call on your name. So was and
-
then I as very friendly towards this soul guy. No way,
-
no way, I will allow him to come into our church. Man,
-
lock him out? You see him, O, God, this one
-
ben Ben from coming to Plaza aways k. He's coming
-
to capture us to prison. Now don't you know Lord,
-
who this guy is? I think the Lord knows Verse fifteen.
-
But the Lord said to him, go some of us.
-
Go is the word for some of us, go go
-
for his a chosen vessel of mind to bear my
-
name before gentles, kings and the children of Israel.
-
For I will show.
-
Him how many things he will be blessed for my namesake.
-
Is it the call of.
-
God that he will achieve much success in my name?
-
He will build the biggest church in my name.
-
We always credit Paul to really, you know, starting the
-
churches the early church. But in God's sight, right, this
-
is just someone's gonna suffer from me. I don't know, man, like, huh, God,
-
you want me to suffer for you? Do you want to?
-
Probably not? But are you willing to? Are you willing
-
to give up everything? Are you willing to give up
-
your father, your mother, your son, your daughter? Are you willing?
-
It's not pleasant, it's not easy. But are you willing
-
to suffer? This is a hard question? But God, no,
-
what's in our hearts? Yeah? And when he heard from
-
the Lord, look at his response. Do you know when
-
you hear from the Lord. That's why I want you
-
to hear from the Spirit this afternoon, because when you
-
hear from the Lord, right, you change your mindset, change
-
your perception changed. Right just before that, he says, please
-
bend this guy from entering plaza or his care right
-
verse seventeen, and Ananias went his way and entered into
-
the house, and laying his hands on him, he said,
-
brother Saul, you'll bro bro from someone you would bean
-
at the security gud. You are now going downstairs and
-
say bro. Welcome, He says, brother Saul, the Lord Jesus
-
who appeared to you on the road as you came,
-
has sent me so that you may receive your sight
-
and be.
-
Be be filled with the Holy Spirit.
-
And so we want to make room for the infeeling
-
of the Holy Spirit because that seals that transformation in soul.
-
Do you see that? Do you see how it was?
-
You know he was in that place of darkness, in
-
that place of darkness, he could not see, and yet
-
there was a man sent. You know many of us
-
are we are sent, you know, it's just that we're
-
not going.
-
We are sent.
-
To help someone recognize to say, Jesus is the Lord,
-
and I want.
-
To pray that you will be filled with the Holy Spirit.
-
But we were saying, no, ask you all to go.
-
But you are the one God is calling gold because
-
he was a disciple. Right, How many disciples do we
-
have here? Are you a disciple? There is a call
-
to go and heal them to receive their site. Do
-
you know many of us are blind? You think you're blind? No,
-
it depends you're wearing glasses, so not blind, right, But
-
we are blind spiritually, and if no one comes to
-
point to us the way, then we will be forever blind.
-
Hope you here God's heart on what he wants to
-
speak to us. He's doing a deep work, right and
-
verse eighteen, Immediately there fell from his eyes something like skills,
-
and he received his sight at once, and.
-
He arose and was baptized. You see how immediate that is?
-
Immediately immediate? Right?
-
So I won't go into like why we should be baptized,
-
but follow, La, Follow whatever you read in the word.
-
How many of you are not baptized yet? Obey?
-
As simple as that. Really, what else is there to
-
think about? Consider?
-
Is he Lord? Or is he not? How do you
-
share Jesus to someone? What would you begin with?
-
Oh? You start your testimony? Okay, like how God transformed
-
my life? Yeah, okay, okay, what else? The rest of you?
-
How do you usually start? The words are not coming
-
to Christie is mummy's brain. It's okay, I totally understand.
-
I get you, I get you.
-
It's there, but it's not it's not connecting, La, it's
-
the home ones.
-
It's okay, the rest of you. Conviction?
-
There you go, you share your convictions? Okay, you share convictions?
-
How did Jesus start sharing when he first came on
-
the scene. Was he sharing like this is my testimony,
-
these are my convictions. You know you must live. I
-
am the way. Did he start that way? What was
-
the first thing that he started? Let's go to just
-
some You will know this, right, Matthew three, one, two two.
-
This is John the Baptist.
-
Even John the Baptist started this way when he was
-
talking about God.
-
Repent.
-
He said, repent for the Kingdom of Heaven has come near, right,
-
Matthew four seventeen. Jesus began his ministry, and he said,
-
did he say, oh, this is my testimony? He said, repent, repent?
-
What is this word repent? Many times you hear this
-
word repent? What does repent mean? Anyone turning back? Turning back? Okay, yeah,
-
let let's go to the Greek word for repent. I'm
-
gonna do this really quickly. Now what is repent?
-
Right?
-
You know the word meta? So this word is meta
-
noel or meta noa. When you when you read now
-
your Bible, this word repent, repentance. It comes from this
-
word meta noil or meta noya. Meta means change, right, okay,
-
meta means change. What other metad words do you know
-
when you learn in your school science? Are meta morphosis?
-
Okay?
-
At least you'll still remember your signer. What is metamorphosis?
-
Transformation of what catapillar? Okay, so is a method morphosis?
-
You know the word morph is changing of or development
-
of a particular like a product. Right, So, from one
-
lava poopa to butterfly, change in the form? Okay, metamorphosis,
-
change in the form. You can see this now. But
-
Metaoya says this is a change. Do you know sometimes
-
when we think about repent, right or we think is God,
-
I'm so sorry? Right, God, I'm so sorry. I feel
-
guilty about this thing I have seen against you.
-
I feel it.
-
But do you know that Meta Noa is not your feelings.
-
It's a change of your mindset. It's a change of
-
your thinking. It's a change of your perception. It's a
-
change of how you deal with this question.
-
Who are you Lord? Do you see that? Are you Lord?
-
It's not like, oh I feel that he's so close
-
to me, it's my best day.
-
It's a change of your mind, your perception of who
-
Jesus is. And God wants to tackle our perception today
-
who is he to you?
-
Right?
-
And it means it is a whole life orientation. It's
-
not just coming you see the things?
-
Right?
-
I can only see you on a Sunday two hours
-
at most, but he sees the rest of it, the
-
twenty two hours that you're going to spend later today,
-
the twenty four to seven of the week.
-
Is your life changing? Is your life turning?
-
Is your life transforming into more like Jesus?
-
Or is it the same old, same old? Hello?
-
Friends, Actually she has been around fourteen years in umpug right.
-
We don't want to see the same thing again and again,
-
you know, like the same person Selena fourteen years ago,
-
still the same person. Now she has not She has changed.
-
She has morphed for morphed, grown wings to fly like
-
a butterfly. See you see, it's a whole life change.
-
You don't just turn away from doing the bad things.
-
You have to turn to God. Hello, friends, Just turning
-
away from bad stuff does not save you.
-
Can I tell you.
-
That just because you're founding church right does not mean
-
you are saved.
-
Can I give you this warning?
-
Because you remember Jesus says, there's those who come to me.
-
You know, they were casting out demons, they were healing
-
the sick, and they will come to Jesus and say, Lord,
-
we did all this in your name and what did
-
Jesus say to them, I do not know you.
-
I do not know you.
-
You can have the power, but if you do not
-
have the relationship.
-
It's meaningless. Do you see that?
-
And so Jesus is saying, Wow, anyone can anyone can
-
process profects me as Lord. But God knows who really
-
he is Lord too. Amen, So repentance.
-
It's a change. And you know that.
-
This is what happened for Saul in verse twenty, right,
-
just nineteen verses earlier, maybe a week earlier. He was
-
there about to send all of you to prison verse twenty.
-
Immediately preached the Christ in the synagogues that he is there.
-
Who's Jesus? Who's Jesus?
-
Oh, let's go to X you have it in your
-
bible x nine twenty. Who did Paul start up preaching Christ?
-
Was he is the son of God. That's who Jesus
-
must be. To you and to me.
-
He is the son of God. He is the law
-
of your life.
-
That means, right, he has authority over every single thing
-
of your life.
-
Do you coin that?
-
Because right you can colim Savior as a security ticket,
-
my entrance ticket to heaven. I just have to call Jesus,
-
as you know, just accept him law and then I'll
-
deal with him later. Once I reach into heaven, then
-
you know everything is fine. But right now, right here,
-
is he Lord of your life? Amen, I'm gonna ask
-
the band to come on stage and be ready to minister.
-
The challenge is for us to repent and this repenta,
-
can I tell you, friends? Is not for unbelievers. This
-
repentance is for believers because many of us have a
-
wrong idea of who Goddess Romans talk to says this,
-
do not be confirmed to the pattern of this world,
-
but be transformed, meta, be changed, be transformed by the
-
by the renew your mindset, so that we may know
-
what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
-
Do you know this? Is this a part of your life?
-
You know? Is the Word of God a part of
-
your life? Friends? Can I can I ask you this
-
deeper question?
-
If he is Lord, right, then do you go to
-
the world every day to seek his guidance, to seek
-
his counsel, to seek him?
-
Do you?
-
I am very concerned because I'm discovering many of our Christians,
-
even leaders, do not know that they need to read
-
the word of God.
-
I am very concerned and this is very real.
-
I'm talking about ex church. Okay, do not read the
-
Word of God. Then my question is, then, how do
-
you know what God's way is? Then how do you
-
know him? If you don't know him and He's revealed
-
through the Word, how do you say you follow him?
-
How do you dare to say I follow his way?
-
Or so I really don't know. It bothers me.
-
Tell me, tell me how do you know God? If
-
you don't know his word? Tell me I really it
-
just bothers my mind. They're like, oh, I read a
-
devotional verse of the day. I'm not knocking that. But
-
I think we want more. I think we want deeper.
-
I think we want to go to this place of
-
just saying God, who are you in my life? Who
-
are you? Truly God?
-
I don't want to just say you're a good Guru,
-
that you're solved my problems. Even if God doesn't solve
-
a problem, would you say you are God, You are
-
the Son of God, you are the Lord of my life?
-
Amen? Amen, Halleliah.
-
I want to give us an opportunity to repent this morning,
-
and I'm going to open the altar. Okay, let's take
-
this as a time of just saying I'm not talking
-
to just unbelieve us.
-
I'm talking to believe us here. Okay, don't be distracted
-
by that.
-
It's okay, no worries. All is fine, All is fine.
-
But God wants you to take that step to just
-
come before and see God.
-
I repent. I repent of the wrong idea that I
-
have of you. I just repent. God, show me who
-
you are.
-
And I want to just pray over you and ask
-
that the Holy Spirit will rest upon you, give you
-
a new mind right because we need the Holy Spirit
-
today is pan the costs and if we don't allow
-
the Holy Spirit to do that deep we didn't usk
-
We're gonna walk from this place the same.
-
But God wants to do a transformation. Amen.
-
