  1. You're listening to a message to go from ex church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. Today, we're going to look into the book of Heguy. Okay.

  4. So I just want to give a little background about

  5. he Guy.

  6. Okay.

  7. So her Guy lived in Jerusalem shortly after many of

  8. the Jews has written from exile in Babylonia.

  9. Okay.

  10. So those who written they have began to rebuild the temple.

  11. But when the opposition comes, okay, from the local enemies,

  12. they actually abandoned the project. Okay, they stopped building, Okay,

  13. the temple that they were rebuilding. So the year was

  14. five hundred and twenty busy, and the city of Jerusalem

  15. was essentially a landscape of unfinished project and unfulfilled promise.

  16. Okay. So there is a picture before that, okay.

  17. So you know, I wanted to know how Jerusalem looks like,

  18. So I went, I cannot find a picture that I like,

  19. So I asked Germini, can you help me to visualize

  20. how Jerusalem looks like when all of them will be

  21. in exile because they cannot attack right by war and

  22. all those whatnot. So everything was in ruin okay. So

  23. when they came back, so of course the first thing.

  24. First they wanted to build the temple, okay, but a

  25. position come they gave up. Okay, they say that, Ah,

  26. you know, I tried to build a temple. It doesn't work.

  27. I want it to be, so I stopped doing Okay.

  28. So it has been nearly seventeen years since the Israelites

  29. were taken into captivity and eighteen years since they finally

  30. returned home. But the most important place in the whole nation,

  31. the Temple of God, was there, sitting in silent, dusty foundation.

  32. Okay.

  33. So now we can visualize that they built the temple

  34. halfway and then they just ignore it.

  35. Okay.

  36. So we usually think of revival as a highly emotional experience, okay,

  37. a sudden exciting rush of wind of the Holy Spirit,

  38. and then everybody's shouting and praising. Okay, But the history

  39. of hair Guy show us something different. Revival isn't just

  40. a feeling, okay, but it's a total shift of priority.

  41. Okay.

  42. So the Israelie has mastered the art of shout. So

  43. when they came back from exile, right, so, they were

  44. shouting praisers.

  45. Yeay, finally I'm free. I'm pretty sure.

  46. That if let's say you're gonna caught by someone, and

  47. then people release you. You know, then you will shouting yay,

  48. I'm finally free.

  49. Right yay.

  50. But then they've forgotten how to use the shovel to build. Okay,

  51. they know that they are free, but then when they

  52. come back, they built halfway a position. Come then they've

  53. forgotten totally entirely who was the one that set them free,

  54. and they just ignore it. So the celebrated coming home

  55. with love praises, okay, and then everything is that's it.

  56. So for sixteen long years, the reconstructions of house gathered dust. Okay,

  57. But one thing that the people were focused on was

  58. building their own house. Okay, So they look at the temple.

  59. No matter how I build, people keep on, you know, uh,

  60. criticizing me, opposition, discouragement, this contentment. I don't want to

  61. build the temple really like I focused on my own house.

  62. I built my house. Okay.

  63. They invested their time, they invested all their resources to

  64. build their own comfortable house. Hanna house, very nicely done. Okay,

  65. and then I have a picture for that. Where's my picture? Yeah?

  66. Can you say the temple?

  67. I don't care, but I build my own house again

  68. I cannot find picture in Google. I asked German and

  69. I to help me do the contrast. Okay, so you

  70. can see when when they were supposed to build the temple,

  71. but the time was invested in building their own house.

  72. So this delay is a perfect picture of sometimes our

  73. spiritual standing okay, our own life. So when we bring

  74. back into the modern lifetime, right, you will realize that

  75. we often sit around waiting for an emotional stirring to

  76. move us. Okay, whether we like it or not, same

  77. goes to me. I'm not hitting anyone per se, but

  78. I'm talking across the board. A lot of times we

  79. sit down to wait for the emotional stirring to move us.

  80. But what is God waiting?

  81. God is waiting for our obedience to stir us. God

  82. is not here to stir us first, then only we obey.

  83. But God wants us to obey first before he stir us.

  84. So every day we have a choice. Are we going

  85. to build our own comfortable life, our own empire, or

  86. are we going to prioritize God's house. So the t

  87. true spiritual awakening began when we look past our own

  88. comfort and to see the reality of what we have neglected.

  89. So God is calling all of us today, okay, to

  90. come back to our to refocus ourselfs, to reprioritize what

  91. we are supposed to put priority first, okay, and to

  92. understand that serving the house of God equates to building

  93. God's house.

  94. Amen. So that is my introduction.

  95. And then you must be saying that you know, yes,

  96. Lena's introduction very good.

  97. Where does this come from? Okay? And where do I

  98. get this?

  99. Uh?

  100. What you call it this inspiration from?

  101. Is when you know this season after the whole U

  102. turn right, I was led to read the minor prophets

  103. in the Bible. Do you know that I always keep

  104. this part because I'm like you talking about all the

  105. prophecy My rain cannot brain it, okay, But this time

  106. I challenge myself to try to brain it, okay. So

  107. as I was reading the Book of Hergui, this words

  108. caught my attention okay, And I'm gonna read from New

  109. Living Translation, even though my slights is from New King James.

  110. But I like how a New Living Translation.

  111. Translated because it gives the date so easy for me

  112. to visualize because the date that was written there is

  113. the date that we used.

  114. Now, okay, you will understand what I'm talking about. Okay.

  115. Start from chapter one, verse one. On August twenty nine

  116. of the second year of King David's reign, the Lord

  117. gave a message to the prophet hair Guide, to Zara Babel,

  118. son of Sheltill, Governor of Judah, and to Jesuas son

  119. of jehuo Zaidad the high priests. This is what the

  120. Lord of Heaven's armies say. The people are saying, the

  121. time has not yet come to rebuild the House of

  122. the Lord. Okay, here this word again, the time has

  123. not yet come to rebuild.

  124. The house of the Lord. Okay.

  125. How do we know it's time or not time? Okay,

  126. So this is what the people say, not time yet,

  127. It's not time to build God's house.

  128. Okay.

  129. Then the Lord sends this message through the prophet hair Guide.

  130. Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house

  131. lies in ring?

  132. Ouch?

  133. Again, why are you living in luxurious houses while my

  134. house lies in ring? This is what the Lord of

  135. Heaven army says. Look at what's happening to you?

  136. Okay.

  137. In new King Join's version, it say consider your waist. Okay,

  138. you have planted much, but hours little you eat but

  139. are not satisfied. You drink, but are still thirsty. You

  140. put on clothes, but cannot keep warm. Your wayes disappeared

  141. as true. You were putting them in pockets filled with holes.

  142. This is what the lod of Heavens Army says. Look

  143. at what's happening to you. See twice the Lord said,

  144. look at what's happening to you. Now go up into

  145. the hills, bring down timber and rebuild my house. Then

  146. I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says

  147. the Lord. You hope for rich hours, but they were poor.

  148. And when you brought your house home, I blew it away.

  149. Why because my house lies in ruins, says the Lord

  150. of heaven Armies, while all of you are busy building

  151. your own fine houses. It's because of you that the

  152. heavens withhold the dew and the earth Earth produces no crops.

  153. I have caught for a drought on your fields and heels,

  154. A drought to wider the grain and grapes and olive

  155. trees and all your other crops. A drought to staff

  156. you and your livestock, and to ruin everything you have

  157. worked so hard to get.

  158. Wow a very heavy word right.

  159. So when I read this, the first respond that I

  160. had was out, when you bring it back into the

  161. modern time, don't you feel that it reflects us most.

  162. Of the time? Right? And when I read this, right,

  163. I was like, all right, I'm sorry.

  164. Because it really it mirrored me as well. Right, it

  165. mirrored the things that I've been through I went through. Okay,

  166. So the spiritual struggles of the Utra began with a

  167. simple excuse, bad timing. Okay, so that was the excuse.

  168. It's a bad timing. It's not a time to rebuild

  169. God's house yet.

  170. Okay.

  171. So that is their argument. So this mindset is a

  172. comfortable trap. And do you know that why I said

  173. comfortable trap. We rarely say no to God, right, God

  174. say hey, uh okay, maybe Crystal Cristol, can you go

  175. for missions?

  176. She would not say no.

  177. She would say okay, God, but wait a let me

  178. give birth to.

  179. My third baby.

  180. Fist right, So you know a lot of times when

  181. God calls us, Okay, I'm not hitting her.

  182. Every time I asked missions, way me, she will say

  183. yes onn.

  184. Okay, all right, I'm just using her as an example

  185. because it's a perfect example. Okay, Yeah, we rarely say

  186. a flat no to God, but we always say, wait, okay,

  187. we just postponed God. Right, So in another word, let's

  188. put it into our our our life. Okay, So what

  189. are some of the weight that we often use when

  190. it comes to serving the Lord in building God's house?

  191. When we were teenager?

  192. Okay, our church leaders say that, hey, is Lena, can

  193. you serve God? And then my uncle will be wait,

  194. I wait until I start college for luck? Okay, because

  195. right now I'm too young. I'm still dependent on my parents.

  196. And then my parents are not believer. They will not

  197. let me come out on Sunday, so earlier, just to

  198. be ready to serve the Lord. Wait, wait, wait, I

  199. go college ready, that I got a bit more freedom

  200. than I would serf. So okay, wait, then when you

  201. are a college student, then your church leaders today, hey,

  202. is Lena, you enter into college ready? I think you

  203. can start serving as a horse ready?

  204. Right?

  205. And then what I say, Leona, I just started college?

  206. Renila can can wait that? Because I just started college ready?

  207. And then there's many assignments I cannot manage my schedule. Well,

  208. I scart if I serve right, I got not enough

  209. time to do my assignment and then write. My lecturer

  210. told me on Monday, I got exam. I haven't studied yet,

  211. so you know, I want to use whatever time before

  212. I come to trash in the morning to study chapter

  213. one Carreta. Maybe when I start working already, I will

  214. have a bit more time because I got no exam

  215. on Monday. Man, right, then I can serve. Right, and

  216. then you become a young working adult. And then Joela said, hey, Selena,

  217. can you start serving in kids? And then I say, uh, Joe,

  218. uh can careta because I just started my word Nila.

  219. You know, sometimes my boss I want me to work

  220. o T. I don't think I have time to plan

  221. any eskids lesson uh? And then plus right, you know,

  222. I cannot afford to lose my job because I just

  223. bought a car and I want to buy a house,

  224. and my financial is not very stable yet, so I

  225. cannot afford to lose my job. So maybe probably a

  226. few months later or one year later, when I get

  227. my confirmation ready, then I start to serve the lord.

  228. Wait and then when you finally gained stability you get promoted.

  229. You say, wait until I retire. Then I will have

  230. more time to serve and then when retirement comes, you're

  231. already okay, how old do we retire?

  232. Sixty years old? Okay?

  233. And then you say that, okay, when I am young

  234. at that time, I've done my share. You know, when

  235. the church got conference, they asked me to serve as

  236. a wholest I went, hiya, but.

  237. Now let the younger generation do the worldler I would

  238. do when I canna.

  239. Wait, there you are wait and the way right? So

  240. these are endless cycle, right. We often say wait again,

  241. I say I'm not hitting anyone because the other experience

  242. that I've been true Okay, haven't retired okay, haven't get

  243. financial stability ever get promoted. But yes I did during

  244. my time, you know, to say that God, wait, but

  245. again I say my even words. You have heard me sharing, right,

  246. God asked me to go. I say Lord, no, okay, yeah,

  247. I I rely tell God no okay, but God caught

  248. me anyway.

  249. Okay.

  250. So there is a lot of endless cycle of waiting.

  251. And then some of your waiting will be different.

  252. Okay.

  253. Maybe you are single and you say that God, wait,

  254. first I find a partner reity that ourself God. Or

  255. maybe then you find your partner reity God, wait first

  256. I get married. I was together with my husband. And

  257. then when you get married, you get pregnant, Say God, way.

  258. First, I let me give both first. Then you give birth.

  259. Readay, say got way fasted when my children grow up first.

  260. There's a lot of wait in our life. We always

  261. tell God to wait. Okay, So there is always a

  262. good reason. Okay, there's always a reason. I'm not saying

  263. that all these are bad reasoner. Okay, there's always a

  264. good reason. But we never seem to find the perfect

  265. moment to serve, whether we like it or not.

  266. We never find a perfect moment to serve. Okay.

  267. Sometimes you know, we can even dress up our excusers

  268. to simply to make it sound spiritual. When your leader

  269. asks you to serve. Okay, when Crystal maybe go to

  270. uh you know, come to me and say that is Selena.

  271. We're gonna enough PC like, can you surf? Or no?

  272. Okay? Not okay?

  273. One Christal okay, oh you say Christal team, come to me, Sea,

  274. We're gonna enough sound personal?

  275. Uh you you have background in technical right?

  276. Can you surfer? Then our answer team?

  277. Let me pray about it.

  278. I haven't feeled God telling me to serve an ex

  279. soun yet and then yeah, very spiritual. And then Mattias

  280. come to me and say that Selena, I need to

  281. go overseas for three months since you always say right

  282. XTIV is a pressing abdoubt. But can you serve in XTIV?

  283. Now? I tell her?

  284. You know what, I sense that God is telling me

  285. that I should serve in keyboard, not computer keyboard, but

  286. the music keyboard.

  287. Right, But can I play keyboard?

  288. No?

  289. I can't.

  290. Okay, I make it sounds spiritual, says the Lord. But really,

  291. did God really tell you that?

  292. You know?

  293. So, if we are completely honest, we have to face

  294. the painful truth. Okay, really what we really have to

  295. face this painful truth? God is not our priority?

  296. Right?

  297. Why do we always have all these kinds of excuses

  298. because God.

  299. Is never our priority.

  300. We may say with our lips that God is number

  301. one in our life, but our life doesn't reflect that

  302. God is number one in our life. And coming to

  303. church become a religious duty. Why I can say that

  304. once upon a time I was like that, I will

  305. share with you at the end of the message.

  306. Right. So to us is lip service.

  307. Is always easy, but the actual service is not so

  308. we tell ourselves we will serve when economy gets better,

  309. when things get better, when our.

  310. Personal lives settled down.

  311. But when So in Guy's time, the people were living

  312. in luxurious wood panel house while God's temples set in ruin. Right,

  313. and this contrast showed where their true devotion lay. And

  314. we must realize that in God's kingdom, delayed obedience is

  315. simply this obedience.

  316. You know.

  317. That's why I said, when I read this right, it

  318. is really a tight slap to my face. So when

  319. we make ourselves the center of our own universe, we

  320. neglect God's work. We end up spinning our wheels. Okay,

  321. we end up like the hamster, running on the wheels

  322. out of our life. And then we still don't find satisfaction.

  323. Okay.

  324. And God showed us the very real physical and spiritual

  325. cost of leaving him out. So we read right in

  326. Worse seven or The Way to Wards eleven, the cost

  327. of putting God outside of the picture. You will you

  328. are working hard, but you get very little. You were

  329. never satisfied. Your pockets, Your pockets are always filled with holes.

  330. Right.

  331. So, during the hair GE's time, the people planted plenty

  332. of seats, but they harvested very little.

  333. Why there is no God's blessing. They were never satisfied.

  334. They eat and drink, but they never feel full because

  335. why there is some emptiness that money and material things

  336. cannot feel on all, right, and.

  337. The pocket is always in hole.

  338. And maybe they say that, yeah, I'm just having a

  339. bad luck, but is it really a bad luck or

  340. is it a wake up call from God? So there

  341. is a wake up call from God.

  342. To all of us.

  343. Why is he blowing away a lot of things that

  344. you try to do to fill in the emptiness in

  345. your life. Sometimes we experience a hollowness in our own life, right,

  346. and we try to find different things to feel it,

  347. to fill in the blank.

  348. But yet we cannot find the satisfaction.

  349. Why because there is certain emptiness that is within us.

  350. Only God can do.

  351. And in order for us to be filled, it's by

  352. acknowledging what God is in our life, right.

  353. And this whole.

  354. Passage here it reminds us what Jesus told us in

  355. Matthew chapter six, verse thirty three. And it's something that

  356. we always remind ourselves. And this is what the Word says.

  357. But sick first, his kingdom and his righteousness. All these

  358. things will be given to you as well. So when

  359. we put other things before God, I can guarantee you

  360. you will end up losing it, losing the very thing

  361. that you work hard for. You work very hard to

  362. protect your earthly thing, and you ignore God. One day

  363. the very thing that you are trying very hard to protect,

  364. you will lose it. And to experience a true spiritual awakening,

  365. you must recognize the damage caused by our own misplaced priority.

  366. So as you reflect upon your life, start to ask yourself,

  367. where is your misplaced priority? And you know, one of

  368. the things that I always ask myself is this, if

  369. there is certain things that my earthly boss asked me

  370. to do and I will never say no to, why

  371. would I say no to to my heavenly boss when

  372. my life is given by my heavenly boss and I

  373. can just say that no God, I'm not free. But

  374. we will never say to our earthly boss saying that

  375. no Boss, I'm not free. Right, we are so afraid

  376. of losing our earthly job, but we never afraid losing

  377. our spiritual eternity. So this is really a wake up

  378. call for all of us. So now we recognize the ruin.

  379. Get the ruin your misplaced priority. And this is the

  380. response that we need to respond to.

  381. Okay.

  382. So I'm going to continue reading from hair Guy chapter one,

  383. verse twelve to fifteen. Okay, so this is what the

  384. word says. I'm reading from NLT again. Then Zerabebel's son

  385. of Shelti, and Jesua son of Jeho's that the high

  386. Priest and the whole remnant of God's people began to

  387. obey the message from the Lord, Dear God.

  388. Okay.

  389. So here he says that they begin to obey Okay,

  390. I have a new preacher here, okay. And when they

  391. heard the word of the of the prophet, her Guy,

  392. whom the Lord God has said.

  393. The people feared the Lord.

  394. Then her Guy, the Lord's messenger, gave the people this

  395. message from the Lord. I am with you, says the Lord.

  396. Okay. So the Lord sparked the enthusiasm.

  397. Of the Rebebel's son of Sheelite Governor of Judah, and

  398. the enthusiasm of Jeshua son of Jehu Zedek, the High Priest,

  399. and the enthusiasm of the whole remnant of God's people.

  400. They began to work on the house of their God,

  401. the Lord of Heaven armies on September twenty one of

  402. the second year of King's Darius reign.

  403. Okay, So when.

  404. God first sport was August twenty nine, and then they

  405. started working in September twenty first, right, So before we

  406. can build God's house, we need the wake up call.

  407. So God has already given us the wake up call.

  408. So what is our response now? We need to have

  409. experienced a change of heart, So that is something that

  410. we need to do. God wants us to change our

  411. heart to come into total repentance.

  412. That is something that I preach the last message.

  413. We need to be repented of our al ways and

  414. turns towards Him. We need to come to God in

  415. the position of humility, acknowledging his lordship and his sovereignty

  416. over our life. And we need to serve God. Worship

  417. the Lord with clean hands and pure heart. So a

  418. pure and willing heart is a true foundation of serving

  419. the Lord. So what I want to encourage all of

  420. us here is that the Holy Spirit is always there knocking.

  421. On the door of our hearts.

  422. You know, with rue Okay, the Lord is the Holy

  423. Spirit is knocking, okay.

  424. And he's always there. Convict us to.

  425. Do the right thing, and he's always there working in

  426. our hearts, changing our hearts so that our hearts will

  427. be at the right place. But are we responding to

  428. this conviction? Are we responding to this knocking? So what

  429. I want to encourage and challenge all of us here

  430. this morning is that let's respond to the knocking. Let's

  431. set our hearts in the right place. And when our

  432. heart is in the right place, that is when we

  433. need to start to act. We need to start to

  434. take action. And when we read just now right In

  435. Haggard chapter one, he says, the people begin to obey.

  436. They heard the word, they obey, and then what they

  437. God promised, God promising that I am with you. So

  438. God promised blessing to his people if they put their

  439. priorities back in order. Hey, put our priority back to

  440. him with him and his work. Okay, But we also

  441. know that sometimes blessing don't come immediately. We just need

  442. to keep working, okay, and God do not want them

  443. to be discouraged. So this is what God says in

  444. the scripture, I will bless you from this day.

  445. Okay.

  446. When you read in the New King James, he says

  447. that I will bless you from this day.

  448. Okay.

  449. So maybe a lot of us we are saying that,

  450. you know, well, I'm not serving now because my heart

  451. is not in the right place.

  452. Okay.

  453. So sometimes we wait for the spiritual feeling, which I

  454. say just now, or sometimes we are waiting for a

  455. special sign before we start serving. So it's like something

  456. that we say that, oh Lord, if if today whole

  457. day is bright and shiny, then I will sign up

  458. to serve as espresso.

  459. Okay.

  460. And then the baddibah you walk out from church on

  461. Sunday that it started raining, Okay, I take it a

  462. sign that God don't want me to serve an expresso

  463. really okay, but do you know that God would never

  464. answer this count prayer because why God wants our obedience first?

  465. God say that, why should I show you a sign

  466. to get you to serve the house? God says, I

  467. called you to serve the house, and I want you

  468. to obey. And this is what the people did. They

  469. obey first.

  470. Okay.

  471. So in the world, this is what I called when

  472. obedience comes the feeling what comes there after, which is

  473. the stirring of God.

  474. Okay. So again, the first time to serve.

  475. Is often the very spark that's the work of the

  476. Holy Spirit in our life. So we must stop falling

  477. back on the excusers that you know, I want to

  478. wait for the sign that you need I serve or

  479. maybe sometimes even worse, someone else will do it. Wanna

  480. never mind when you know every time, actually I say

  481. that all the dreams not enough people in the end,

  482. or so she get people power, right, I don't need

  483. to I don't need to save.

  484. Someone else will do it.

  485. Why why do we want to let someone hold the

  486. blessing when God says I also want to give you

  487. the same blessing?

  488. Why do we want to miss the mark? You know?

  489. Why do we want to like you know, it's the

  490. same blessing God wants to give to Joel, God wants

  491. to give to John, God wants to give to me.

  492. But I said that new mana. Let John and Joel self,

  493. then they get the blessing. And then I'm like, God,

  494. what you know?

  495. Bless me?

  496. Right? God says that I have the same blessing for

  497. all of you, But you say, let someone do it, right?

  498. That is not what we're supposed to do, Okay, So

  499. we need to come before the Lord, with clean hands

  500. and pure hearts, with a repentance heart, and obey.

  501. You may feel that.

  502. Your heart may not be in the right place yet,

  503. but it's okay, because all of us is a work

  504. in progress. The Lord is constantly working in us, and

  505. when we obey, God will slowly transform our hearts. So

  506. I'm gonna share this story that I found is about

  507. this guy called William Carrey. Okay, he's a very famous

  508. missionary to India.

  509. Okay.

  510. So when he first about his passion to reach people

  511. for God, an old leader told him, young man, shit down.

  512. When God pleases to convert the heaven, he will do

  513. without your help or mine. Oh wow, Imagina. Hey, Noah

  514. came to me and Saysalia, I want to go through,

  515. but don't and apreciate the gospel. And then I tell him, Noah,

  516. sit down. If God wants to convert the people in Bandung,

  517. he will do it without your help or mine. Imagine,

  518. how are you, Noah eight years old? Imagine God wanted

  519. to use an eight years old to reach the villagers there,

  520. and I told him, no I'm already part of the

  521. person that breaks the world of God. Yes, God can

  522. do it without your help.

  523. Or mind.

  524. But God wants to partner with us. And that is

  525. what Carrie knew. He knew that God wants to partner

  526. with him to reach to the people in India. Okay,

  527. so God wants us to step up before he moved.

  528. So Carrie, what.

  529. He did was he rejected the attitude of that old

  530. leader and he lived by this motto, expect great things

  531. from God a time great things for God.

  532. He knew it. He knew that if God thought, he

  533. has to obey, and he obeyed.

  534. And if you read the whole story about how he

  535. obeyed and how he went in to reach out to

  536. the people in India, you would realize that if he

  537. were to listen to the older leader, things may not

  538. be the same. Or perhaps it may not be a

  539. William carry. It may be another carry. Okay, I don't

  540. know who, but God will use someone else. But instead

  541. he said that no, I will go. I will expect

  542. great things from God, and then I will attend great.

  543. Things from God.

  544. So just like what God told the israelizing Hey God,

  545. chapter one was it go up to the mountains and

  546. bring wood. He expects physical action and participation. Same thing

  547. with us. God expect our physical action. He expects our participation,

  548. and this challenges us to us ourselves. Are we acting

  549. like the older leader who says sit down and wait,

  550. or are we going to step up and do great

  551. things for our church. I haven't even asked you to

  552. go for missions. I'm only asking all of us to

  553. start doing great things for our church at our comfort zone.

  554. This is really our comfort zone, because if you were

  555. to go to missions, you will know how difficult it

  556. can be. You know, even in extra our missions feel

  557. like still not yet that difficult if you really go

  558. to the hardcore missions, which sometimes I hear some of

  559. the mission's trip that my husband went through. I told him, no,

  560. I'm not going to go because you have to roll

  561. through the river with crocodiles. You have to go and

  562. stay in the longhouses that maybe maybe you will get

  563. bitten by leeches. You have to eat the worm from

  564. the tree bark because that is the religious delicacy. And

  565. then you to go into different villagers to preach the gospel,

  566. which half the time they don't understand you. And then

  567. you don't have proper toilet to shower. Okay, it can

  568. be worse than that. Or maybe some of you have

  569. been to even more extreme missions where people were coming

  570. sort and traveling to say that if you were to

  571. preach Jesus to my villagers, I'm going to step you

  572. to death. There is there is missions that that that

  573. is happening like that, and people are going. But I'm

  574. not asking all of us to go for missions yet. Okay,

  575. if you hear the word yet, I'm only asking all

  576. of us to step up to start building our church.

  577. So remember that true revivals requires more than just changing

  578. how we think.

  579. We may change.

  580. We may change our mindset, but we still won't change

  581. our acts. So the true revival is change your mindset

  582. and change your action. So it requires us to change

  583. how we act. So in hey guy, both Zerabebel, which

  584. is the government leader, and Joshua the religious leader, they

  585. step up and fully submitted to God's plan and they

  586. show that every part of our of their life belongs

  587. to God.

  588. Okay.

  589. So you see the order of event. They obey and

  590. then God stir okay. So remember that action always comes

  591. before inspiration, before feeling.

  592. Okay.

  593. So, and this awakening is that we need to learn

  594. that God wants to partner with us.

  595. So when we.

  596. Take the step of obedience. God's beautiful promise of I

  597. Am with you holds. So when we obey God, we

  598. can already guarantee that the Lord is with us. God's

  599. presence give them the feel for the hard labor. The

  600. internet string, they finally felt, was God's reward for their

  601. willingness to get their hands dirty. So if you see

  602. this thing is only not being found in the book

  603. of hair guy. If you go and read the book

  604. of him, it's the same thing. The people saw the ruin. Okay,

  605. they didn't just dream about Oh wow, Jerusalem is in

  606. such a ruing. I dream of visiting the city, and

  607. they continue dreaming. Do you think that the city will

  608. be built by you just dreaming?

  609. No?

  610. Right, So we always say that, oh I dream to

  611. be a boss one day, but I continue dreaming in

  612. my sleep.

  613. Will you be a boss one day?

  614. No?

  615. How can you be a boss?

  616. You take the step of action that the type of

  617. faith you start building a business, you start to run

  618. your business, then that is how you become a boss. Right,

  619. same thing, Okay, if you want, if you dream that,

  620. you know, exaumbound one day will be packed. It's so said,

  621. so hungry for God. If you dream of seeing the example.

  622. Every Sunday God, people raise up their hands say I

  623. want Jesus. Then we have to start acting on it,

  624. not just dreaming about it. So in him Maya they

  625. want the broken city to be rebuilt, and they say,

  626. let us rise up and rebuild. And they found their

  627. strength to do the work. They find their own walls,

  628. and they started working. They didn't just started dreaming. They

  629. started working. And we know that when we start to

  630. do the work of the Lord, opposition will come right,

  631. opposition will come up down, left, right, everywhere.

  632. Okay, and same things. The same comes to us.

  633. When we say yes to serve the Lord, to serve

  634. the house, we will start off with a lot of excitement.

  635. But when opposition comes, when discouragement comes, that is where

  636. we feel the excitement fade off. Okay, And then that

  637. is when we start to begin to think, Okay, I

  638. want to throw in the towel.

  639. I don't want to do it anymore.

  640. And that is when we often hear the word I think,

  641. I'm burned out, I want to stop serving. I'm not

  642. hitting anyone. I am one of them. If you ask

  643. my line of leader, how many times I tell them

  644. that I want to resign as a CPC. But you know,

  645. in God's kingdom there is no resignation right and God

  646. will never will never accept a resignation letter. Right, Yes,

  647. Because why being in different leadership position, we face different

  648. kinds of opposition. I have my FairShare of discouragement. I

  649. have my fair share of disappointment. I have my fair

  650. share of pain. You know, my my my line of leaders,

  651. they know, because why I need to account to my

  652. own leaders. Every time I tell them, Joe will get

  653. the most joy. You become a CBC. I become, you know,

  654. just any other leader to support you. You know, I

  655. always say that, yeah, John, as we'll get I said, yeah, John.

  656. You become you know, you become the CPCA. You know

  657. I stepped nowt I become the the CPC. Will do

  658. you know? Sometimes I said, I I'm so I don't

  659. do you know? I don't know.

  660. I don't know self anymore. All of us face it.

  661. But how do I renew the strength?

  662. I prayed?

  663. And that is where God said that, Selena, I know it.

  664. I am with you. Keep pushing on, keep moving on.

  665. That is one number two? Why can't I still keep

  666. moving on? Because my leaders here they say that Selena,

  667. we are with you. They didn't say that CBC is

  668. your job, you do it yourself. No, that's why we

  669. cannot always say that let another person do it. Everyone

  670. has a part to play, you know. Everybody has their

  671. part to play. The leg cannot do the hands job.

  672. The hand cannot do the brain job. The brain cannot

  673. do the hard job. And all of us is like

  674. the part of the body. We have the hard to play.

  675. We need to pick up the shovel and build the

  676. house of God together, and that includes all of you here.

  677. So instead of one person burning out, why don't everyone

  678. burn up the fire of God, the passion for God's house,

  679. burn up the fire, the zealousness for God's house, and

  680. let's build God a great house.

  681. Amen? All right?

  682. So remember that building God's house are It's not for

  683. ex church, it's not for Selina, it's not for ex umbunk.

  684. Why do I encourage all of us to serve? Why

  685. do I encourage everyone to build God's house? Because we

  686. are the lighthouse in the heart of kl When a

  687. person is lost, where can they find God? If we

  688. keep our light hidden? When a person need encouragement, where

  689. can they find God? If let's say we don't go

  690. out and shine the light of God. Where can a

  691. people find comfort? If we are the church, you know

  692. that always think about I, me myself. People will not

  693. find comfort, people will not find warm, people will not

  694. find encouragement. And in order for people to find warm,

  695. find encouragement, find community, all of us have a part

  696. to play, okay. And this bring me to the last point,

  697. the reward, the promise of the greater glory. So reading

  698. from Hagary chapter twover was one to nine. It says,

  699. then on October seventeenth of the same year, the Lord

  700. sent another message to the prophet hag Guid, say this

  701. the Zerabebel, son of Cheltiel, governor of Judah, and to Jesuita,

  702. son of jeho Zadak, the high priests, and to the

  703. remnant of God's people here in the land. Does anyone

  704. remember this house, this temple, in its former splendor.

  705. How in comparison does it look to you? Now?

  706. It must seem like nothing at all. But now the

  707. Lord says, be strong, Zeabebel, be strong, Jeshuas or jeho Zadak,

  708. the high priests, be strong. All you people still live

  709. in the land, And now get to work, for I

  710. am with you, says the.

  711. Lord of Heaven's Ami.

  712. My spirit remains among you, just as I promise when

  713. you came out of Egypt. So do not be afraid,

  714. for this is what the Lords of Heaven Army says.

  715. In just a little while, I will again shake the

  716. heavens and the earth, the ocean and the dry land.

  717. I will shake all the nations, and the treasures of

  718. all the nations will be brought to this temple. I

  719. will fill this place with glory, says the Lord of

  720. Heaven Armis. The silver is mine and the goal is mine,

  721. says the Lord of Heaven Amis.

  722. The future glory of.

  723. This temple will be greater than its past glory, says

  724. a lot of armies. And in this place I will

  725. bring peace. I, the Lord of Heaven Armis, have spoken.

  726. So remember my message two.

  727. Months ago, where I say is that revival begins in us,

  728. where I spoke about the trap of comparison. I don't

  729. know whether you'll remember or not the object lesson that

  730. I showed to you all about how we always compare

  731. to other people. And and I and I remember telling

  732. all of us that you know we should not build

  733. our life based on what others look like.

  734. Already, we should.

  735. Be faithful with what we have in our hands, because

  736. we have to remember that our plan is not God's plan,

  737. and we always have to lean on God's plan. And

  738. we must hold on to this truth and put our

  739. hands to cloud to build God's house. Okay, So we

  740. always have to remember that when we work, when we serve,

  741. when we build God's house, we need to guard against

  742. the silent trap of comparison. It's a silent and deadly trap.

  743. So back in the book of Heir Guy, the issue

  744. like mentioned in the in in chapter twover was one

  745. to nine. Just now we mentioned that when they were building,

  746. there is a wave of discouragement. We all know, right

  747. when when Solomon built got temple at that time, it

  748. was very majestic, splendor, all glory. Okay, that is because

  749. he has the gifting of building. He has the gifting

  750. of money and talent, wisdom, whatever whatsoever to build got

  751. such a grand, majestic temple. But when these Israelites came

  752. back and then they started to build, and of course

  753. the older people will remember that this temple only if

  754. we can build like during King Solomon's time, nice and

  755. beautiful and grand and whatnot. Look at what we built

  756. is not even one percent of the majesticness of the temple.

  757. They were discouraged because why they compared back then and now. Okay,

  758. so they compared the past and to the current, and

  759. it's really not comparable, right, and it's very discouraging. So

  760. do you know that what is the one way of

  761. the enemy stop us from serving is making us compare.

  762. The enemy will always resplain to your ear, you know,

  763. or resper to my ear you think you can do

  764. better than el the ping whom you think you can

  765. do better than whoever that you know? Leader churchman, man,

  766. I forget it that no needl just close Downpanga and

  767. then you can go back to extra bang, right. You

  768. know that is how the enemy will stall us, whether

  769. you like it or not. This is real, Okay. The

  770. enemy will try to stop our progress.

  771. Okay.

  772. The enemy was try to stop us from experience God's blessing.

  773. The enemy will try to stop us from seeing God's glory.

  774. So it's very important for us to guard our heart

  775. and mind and not fall into the track. So when

  776. I was when I was preparing this message there I

  777. came up across this prayer. By this this man called

  778. a w Towser, where he prayed about guarding against competing

  779. with other servants and getting discouraged by the smallness of

  780. our gift.

  781. And this is the prayer he says here.

  782. Dear Lord, I refuse henceforth to compete with any of

  783. thy servants. They have congregations larger than mine, which is true,

  784. so be it I rejoice in their success. They have

  785. greater gifts, very well, there is not in their power

  786. nor in mind. I am humbly grateful for their greater

  787. gift and my smaller ones. I only pray that I

  788. may use to die glory such modest gifts as I possess.

  789. I will not compare myself with any not try to

  790. build up myself esteem by noting where I may excel

  791. or another.

  792. In thy holy world.

  793. I hear we've made a blanket disoural of all intrinsic worth.

  794. I am but an unprofitable servant. I gladly go to

  795. the foot of the cross and own myself the least

  796. of type people. If I errn in myself judgment and

  797. actually underestimate myself, I do not want to know it.

  798. I purpose to pray for others and to rejoice in

  799. their prosperity as if it were my own. And indeed

  800. it is my own if it is time on, for

  801. what is time is mine? While one plants and another water,

  802. is it towl alone that giveth the increase?

  803. Wow?

  804. Okay, I never take English literature before, so this is

  805. a mouthful. But you know, in a nutshell is head,

  806. we rejoice for the greatness of other people, but we

  807. focus with what we have in our hands.

  808. Okay.

  809. So that is what we have that God has given

  810. to us, and God will use our little for his glory.

  811. Okay.

  812. So yeah, if we were to be honest with ourselves, okay,

  813. maybe I will share with you my journey. You know,

  814. Like I mentioned to you, right, I also faced the

  815. danger and the trap of comparison. You know, when I

  816. took over xampank, my first question to myself is that

  817. will I do it as good as Elder Pinghole? Okay,

  818. Elder Pinghole was the one that planned x M Bank.

  819. I'm the one that took over to keep watering it

  820. only okay, but I will always ask will I do

  821. better than him? I'm not so eloquent like him. I'm

  822. not so smart like him. I'm not so people person

  823. like him? Will I do better than him? And then

  824. I will also compare ourselves with you know ex Su

  825. Bank where we will plan out. Okay, so sometimes when

  826. I look at Xampuank and look at ex Subank, then

  827. I was like, wow, how nice it is when we

  828. were you know, together with ex su Bank, we have

  829. full sets of sound system, full sets of band.

  830. There's drums and keyboards.

  831. And electric guitar, acoustic guitar bassed okay, you name it.

  832. Then last time we also have acquired the singing whoa.

  833. You know, it's a heaven on earth.

  834. But look at sun only have one acoustic guitar and

  835. keyboard and team will have four hands. Two hands on sound,

  836. two hands on sometimes keyboard, sometimes on carhol sometimes on base.

  837. I don't know where he has all the hands. Okay,

  838. he's like an octopus, you know. Now I was like,

  839. you know, lord, why you know why you're not like that?

  840. You know? Sometimes I will also compare when x Ambund

  841. first planted, every Sunday we have at least one hundred people.

  842. X clids was exploding with so many kids. You know,

  843. we were busy serving reaching out to people and then

  844. we started sending people out to plant differentiach plan our

  845. numbers strength, COVID came strength even more. Okay, in case

  846. you're wondering what I meant by we send other people

  847. out to plant. You know, out of x mbum, we

  848. planted x Klang by John Rusch and Ivy. Out of exambum,

  849. we planted extraraz by Passa Gloria. Out of ex empound.

  850. We plant ex Germany by Gert and Norris. Right, So

  851. the number strength and I missed.

  852. Those were the days.

  853. But Gause, Hey, I'm not asking you to look back.

  854. Those were the days. I'm asking you to look now

  855. and forward. Sometimes I also will compare myself with I

  856. dont BC. I'm like, Lord, why cause so many ideas

  857. and I don't have. But every time I do that,

  858. God will bring me back into alignment and God always

  859. rebuild me. This Selina, I caught you to be you,

  860. I called you to plant x I'm bunk based on

  861. what I have given to you, not what I've given

  862. to other people. So this is what you know. I'm

  863. bringing back into alignment. And God reminded me when I

  864. call you, I will equip you and I will bless you,

  865. and this is something that I hold onto. So when

  866. the issue life felt the exact same discouragement, did you

  867. notice that God didn't magically give them more goal, better worlds,

  868. bigger crowd, But God give them something better. God promised

  869. his presence and that is the same promise that I'm

  870. holding onto. I want to experience God's presence in x Umbunk, Okay.

  871. So he commanded them to be strong and work, promising

  872. them that the glory of this new temple will actually

  873. be greater than the old one, not in terms of luke,

  874. but in terms of his presence. So God wasn't talking

  875. about physical beauty He's talking about He's only talking about

  876. one fact that Jesus Christ himself the desire of all nations.

  877. One day he will physically walk into that very temple.

  878. And that is something that we want to hold onto.

  879. And our desire here is that we want to see

  880. God's presence feel x Unbunk every Sunday and fill every life.

  881. So today, even as I come to a close and

  882. I invite the extreme come forward, I just want to

  883. issue this challenge to all of us here. Let's rise

  884. up and let's build this church together. God has promised

  885. to bless x Umbund, you know, and I'm holding on

  886. tightly to this promise. So let me be very very

  887. honest with all of you here that you know the

  888. journey of leadership and church planning, it can sometimes feel

  889. very very lonely, you know.

  890. And I can tell you.

  891. That I cannot do this alone, and I can cannot

  892. only always only depend on just my leaders. And my

  893. leaders also they cannot do this alone. We need everyone.

  894. We need each and every one of you here. God

  895. has given you a talent. God has given you, you know,

  896. a dream. Are you ready to answer to the call?

  897. Are you ready to put in your hands into the

  898. plow and to build this church? Are you ready to

  899. be the eighty percent serving the twenty percent. The eighty percent,

  900. it's us, the partners of this church. The twenty percent

  901. is the newcomer, the pre believer that will come. So

  902. the message of hag Guy is a wake up call

  903. to myself, and I hope it is also for all

  904. of you. We cannot settle for our own comfort life

  905. and hide behind whatever excuse us that we may be

  906. giving while the work of God's kingdom is neglected. Remember

  907. I mentioned just now when I issue the call to

  908. serve in church. It's not just for this church plan

  909. to grow in numbers, but it's so that this church

  910. plan will be the answer to many people.

  911. That this church plan.

  912. Will be the very part plan that peace to the

  913. people who are searching, That this church blood would be

  914. the mission field where many will come to know the

  915. saving knowledge of Christ.

  916. So remember I shared.

  917. With your early just now that I have my own story,

  918. you know, of awakening, my own story of how I've

  919. been through the room, how I gave different kinds of excuses,

  920. and how God has brought me to where I am today.

  921. So a little bit background about myself is that you know,

  922. I'm a first generation Christian in my family. Okay, my parents,

  923. they are all non believer. When I first accepted Christ

  924. and ex Church is not my first church, so I

  925. came from another church. So when I first stepped foot

  926. into Eggs, I came to X Church with a lot

  927. of heavy baggages. I have a lot of disappointment, discouragement,

  928. burned out, and past offenses from the church I came from.

  929. I'm not gonna tell you what, okay, because no point

  930. counting history, right, But it's a testimony worth remembering.

  931. So when I came to.

  932. Ex right, I remember telling God this Lord, enough is enough.

  933. I'm not going to serve in this church. I'm just

  934. gonna come every Sunday to be a pure warmer.

  935. Okay, a pure warmans.

  936. You come, you sit down, you receive the message, and

  937. then you say kay, text by okay, and then you

  938. go back. So that is why I told God, I'm

  939. just gonna come here and be a pure warmer. I

  940. will come and I will go. So my heart is

  941. not in the right place, and I knew it, and

  942. I refuse to make it right, you know. So I

  943. just told Got that you know, I'm just gonna come.

  944. So sometimes past her will stop us from one thing

  945. to give our time our treasure, and I'll tell them

  946. to God. So we think that, you know, by us

  947. doing that, we are protecting ourselves. But God has another plan.

  948. He convicted my heart. He challenged me to step up

  949. and serve. Again. There's a very deep hugging in my heart.

  950. You know, Like I said, I always tell God, no, no,

  951. I don't want.

  952. I don't want.

  953. You know, if you know me well enough, you know

  954. that I'm a very stubborn person. He even took God.

  955. I said no, God, no, no, I'm not gonna serve. No.

  956. I struggle, I argue, but you know that you can

  957. never win God. Right.

  958. So finally, after the match dagging and fighting and argument

  959. with God, I have relented and told God, fine, I

  960. was serf in any ministry except this particular ministry where

  961. I got hurt.

  962. I said that Lord, I was serf in any.

  963. Ministry except so I reluctantly say yes.

  964. And so happened. During that time.

  965. There's a call to tineer two age group. One is

  966. X kids and one is ex teens. I said, okay,

  967. I was gonna serve in X kids. It is right,

  968. you know. To the young children, just tish Nima and

  969. then I can hide in ex kids and nobody can

  970. see me. So I helped pioneer ex kids and back

  971. then was Passassandra who started it with a few other leaders.

  972. So with my reluctant yes, I went in.

  973. And that is the beginning of an incredible journey that

  974. the Lord has prepared for me. God took my reluctance

  975. and turned it around for his glory. From initially saying

  976. no to God, I eventually grew to know him more

  977. intimately from not wanting to deal with people at all,

  978. I started touching life of the little ones that God

  979. has put around me in ex Kids and do you

  980. know that many of whom they are now actively serving

  981. in our church. And one case in point if you

  982. do not know, our current ex Edinburgh church funk coordinator

  983. was once upon a time a child in ex Kids

  984. that I have.

  985. Privilege to teach.

  986. So God taught me from teaching little children to preaching

  987. his word to adults today. From discipling children, I went

  988. on to disciple adults. From reaching out to children, I

  989. reach out to adult and see them grow in their

  990. faith and in their walk with God. Some of the

  991. people that have a privilege to sow into One of

  992. them is a church frend coordinator of Ex brick Field.

  993. One of them he happened to serve with me in

  994. as Kids that I have a privilege to disciple him.

  995. He is the existency busy of x Mandrin. Would I

  996. have expected this back then when I told God I

  997. just wanted to be a pure woman. No, But God

  998. showed me that when you obey and start serving in church,

  999. you are giving directly to Him and unto His glory.

1000. So does all these people that I reach out to.

1001. It's my own glory. No, it's for His glory.

1002. Because of my obedience, morsels get to hear the saving

1003. knowledge of Christ. God owns the cattle of thousand hills.

1004. He doesn't need anything from us. To be honest, God

1005. can use anything. But God wants our obedience. He wants

1006. to partner with us. He wants our trust. He wants

1007. us to give him what little we have so that

1008. we can see how He can increase the little that

1009. we have in our hands. So do know that whatever

1010. increased that God's going to increase in your hands will

1011. ultimately bring glory to Him.

1012. So is it just about the building the church.

1013. No, When we put our hands into the plowt and

1014. start building, that is where we will see more people

1015. saying yes to Jesus. That is where we will start

1016. seeing more pre believer coming to know Jesus.

1017. So it is not just about us. It is about Christ.

1018. It is about the one that needs to hear, that

1019. needs to feel, that needs to experience the love of

  1020. God true us.

  1021. So to move.

1022. From the eperity to awakening, we need to recognize the

1023. ruin in our life, our misplaced priority. How are we

1024. going to respond to God? And then are you ready

1025. to receive the reward? So remember God is not asking

1026. for our excuses, He's asking.

  1027. For our partnership.

1028. Don't hold back because of passwords, don't hold back because

1029. of discouragement. But allow God to feel in every single

  1030. gaps in your life.

  1031. So let's be obedient.

1032. To God called this morning, this afternoon, and know that

1033. He will bless the work of your hands. So do

1034. remember that when you say yes, God will definitely bless you.

1035. God will definitely use you.

1036. And maybe the very friend, the very family that you're

1037. praying ford to know Jesus will come to know Jesus

1038. to your work. And maybe some of you here may

1039. not know all these Jesus that I'm talking about, or

1040. you may have not received Jesus personally as your Lord

1041. and savior. This afternoon, I just want to encourage you

1042. to take a step of faith to get to know him.

1043. Maybe you have been experiencing a ward in your heart

1044. and you're trying a lot of ways to fill the gap.

1045. I do not know what you may be experiencing, but

1046. this afternoon, the Holy Spirit says that here I am

  1047. come back to me.

1048. We hope you've been blessed by this message. For more

1049. information on our church, please visit Asks Church RG. We
