  1. You're listening to a message to go from AXT church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your team.

  3. I want to share a little bit about the core

  4. value discipleship focus. Last year we had discipleship as our

  5. team of the year d R E. A. M. K.

  6. We are going through revival this year. Last year's discaber ship.

  7. You know, I think Exampunk did some what what do

  8. you guys do your your head like discabership me thing right?

  9. Then you invited certain people, then of course give opportunity

  10. people come. I don't know whether you'll still do that

  11. or not. Technically we're supposed to still do that or

  12. at least view the relationship organically, because it's not just

  13. one off things. Right, But let's talk a little bit

  14. about discipleship focus. Are you guys okay? That kenna? Okay?

  15. I like response and now so I hope you all

  16. respond to me. I didn't really think I know in

  17. PJ they were quiet okay, because most of that I

  18. score them one. So I'm joking. Just very strong because

  19. own homeground now right meant twenty eight Verse nineteen to

  20. twenty says go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,

  21. baptizing them in the name of the Father and of

  22. the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe

  23. all things that I've commanded you and low I'm with

  24. you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. Okay,

  25. we like to use the scripture for missions. One go

  26. and make disciples. We like it. We like it. Okay um.

  27. But if you're all believers, okay, let me, let me,

  28. let me, can't challenge your talkt processes. If you're all

  29. believers and we all follow Jesus, then doesn't this commandment

  30. applies to everyone? Yes or no? Yes? Right? It does.

  31. It applies to all of us. Okay. Uh. And when

  32. you say go and make disciples, he didn't just say.

  33. He didn't just say missionaries, go and make disciples. Apostles,

  34. go and make disciples, pastor just needn't know, everybody, go

  35. and make a disciple. You're like, huh, Mia, I can

  36. make disciplement. Can The only challenge is work out disciple

  37. you're making la corona? Same same with me as well. Right, So,

  38. a few things we got we want to learn today

  39. about discipleship focused the value that our church believes in

  40. means if you say I'm extious and I don't believe

  41. in it. Then I questioned whether your public churche or not. Okay,

  42. so disciple shape focused. So the first thing we got

  43. to understand. But discipleship is that is jesus last commandment.

  44. Jesus said go. Everybody turned to your name and say go,

  45. because you know why? Do you know why he said go?

  46. Because if he didn't, we might not go. Do you

  47. know what if he didn't say go, we might probably

  48. won't go la Because we are creatures of comfort. We

  49. all agree or disagree something. You're like, no, no, no, cannot

  50. my friend. Now my wife will say I am not

  51. the type of person because I will trry pass out,

  52. find things to do. Okay, right, Uh, I'm beg to refer,

  53. but it's okay right. Because you are creatures of comfort,

  54. we'd rather stay than go. Because discipleship is commitment. It

  55. is It is commitment. You know, coming to churches, commment,

  56. wearing a certain price, commment right, saying and saying doing

  57. a lot of things is commuman friends. Right. And the

  58. thing about discipleship, go and make disciples is that it

  59. takes time. You know that it takes time to make disciples.

  60. It takes trust, trust or not. It takes building trust

  61. over time. It also takes vision. How what do you

  62. mean by that? Because Jesus had a vision for his disciples.

  63. He went to the fishermen and said to them, come

  64. and follow me. I will make you fishes of men

  65. or Jesus into punts. And of course they dropped their

  66. nests and they follow him. He had a vision for them.

  67. He spent time with them, he taught them, He had

  68. debriefing with them. After sharing something, they all confused. And

  69. most of the time, actually not ninety percent of the time,

  70. I would say they got it wrong. Now, these are

  71. the people that hang out with jesuits three years together, eat, sleep,

  72. do everything together now and still can't get him wrong.

  73. I'm like thinking in my mind, thinking myself fail, really

  74. every semester exam? Fail every year? So failed exam because

  75. I always said to correct them, always said to do

  76. the revision with them. Right. There's an instance in the

  77. Bible I remember in the beginning of the Bible where

  78. normally three of the disciples will follow Jesus when he

  79. go and pray for safety la so in the early

  80. chapters of the Bible, I remember. That's one I can't

  81. remember Eddie. But that's why he say said, Jesus came

  82. and say, hey, while you're sleeping, why can't you just

  83. even wait for me for one hour as I pray?

  84. Do you know the the day that Jesus was betrayed,

  85. he said the same thing to them three years together.

  86. Why do you never heard? Kind of tells me sometimes

  87. about us as Christians? Right, so long ready say cannot learn?

  88. And then of course after Jesus that went to heaven

  89. only they learned la or after they were filled with

  90. the Holy Spirit and they learned, then they were able

  91. to the behavior followed what happened. So it takes time,

  92. It takes a vision. Discipleship, friends, We're very big on

  93. discipleship here in ex church, right, I'm discipled. I discipled

  94. a few and I encourage my guys to disciple others.

  95. And see, discipleship is not just like oh okay, I'm

  96. the pastor of the church. I give you this example.

  97. So I have a few people that have come to

  98. say say, hey, pass Alvin, I'm sure, Hey pass Alvin,

  99. can you disciple me? I want to come under your

  100. leadership and say sure. But I can tell you that

  101. they are not although by by operational administrative relation. You

  102. know by an they're in the on sept chat. But

  103. can I truly say that they are my disciples? No?

  104. And at the same time, there are some of my

  105. guys that I know are my disciples. You're understand that, right.

  106. Just because you write your name there doesn't mean that

  107. you're it. No, you can I get it right, You

  108. guys understand it right. What I'm trying to say, your

  109. discipler would have a vision for you that is an

  110. encouragement for us and also for those that are discipling others.

  111. We actually have a vision one. We actually want you

  112. to move forward. One. How many of you like to

  113. join a gym and hire a PT, right, a personal trainer? Right?

  114. They're got no vision for you one? Whatever? So what

  115. shall I do? Do they coach anything like up to you?

  116. I'm so sorry that I'm using all these gym examples

  117. because it's this phase of my life right now. When

  118. you want to get healthy, then you do all these things, right,

  119. nobody wants to that. How many of you sign up

  120. for okay, I don't know what they're taking license, sign

  121. up for driving car license, to fail on or to

  122. go and then don't learn anything. You go to the driver,

  123. the carrier say up to you, Awaian, do you want

  124. to go one hundred and fifty? You want to go?

  125. You decign. I'll just sit here and press the break

  126. when you get too much? Do you want that kind

  127. of know you? You don't want You want to go

  128. and study. You want to go and learn from someone.

  129. You want to learn everything. You even want to know?

  130. What is the tips and tricks? Right? Why you will

  131. not share with anyone? Correct? And there is a vision? Right?

  132. If the person teaching has no vision, then you better

  133. not follow the person because there's no vision for you.

  134. There's no reason. It's just relationship. Do you like that? Actually?

  135. To be honest, A lot of us like that. One.

  136. What do you do how a leader? Or I just

  137. how the leader? Is the term using x okay to

  138. classify relationship? Decipership? Okay, because we huddle together. So what

  139. have you been doing with a hot leader for the

  140. past three years? Oh? We just might kind of have

  141. coffee and talk about life? Any growth? Nope? Is that

  142. a vision? Jesus had a vision with disciples. Just to

  143. give us a bit of context on deciber ship, right,

  144. is that deciber ship? I don't know, I don't know.

  145. I know a lot of people do that. Right. So

  146. the question is, when you talk about theciper ship, is

  147. why should you listen to the discipler? Why should you

  148. listen to me? Friends? Even right now, why should you

  149. listen to me? Oh? Of course he's the pastor and

  150. he's standing here and we respect him, so we listen. Now,

  151. I don't think everybody here has listen to me, to

  152. me or so, probably some people. Once I say some things,

  153. that's not your tune, nor really yell this again? You know,

  154. want us to give to the church, law, want us

  155. to do all these things, want us to sacrifice of

  156. the church. Lam, I just want here to be blessed

  157. to me? Okay, if that is you, it's not me

  158. a police bay speaking Okay. But the real question is

  159. why should you listen to me? You gotta trust, right,

  160. very simple question. Why do you come to ext church?

  161. You gotta trust? Right. There has to be a reason why, right,

  162. There has to be a reason. You got to trust

  163. that we have your best in mind? Correct? You know why?

  164. What's the motivation? No? If we just want to be

  165. able to suffer, don't know? Kame la? Since me can

  166. I be honest. If I don't know, don't If you

  167. think that we are here to make a life miserable,

  168. then where dangers of cities are in another church. But ah,

  169. you gotta trust that we want the better version of you.

  170. See it's different now. The better version of the stage,

  171. the better version of a of a worship experience, the

  172. better version or the better version of you as a person.

  173. We shore any things more important that you a better

  174. or that you are better. Think about it. The cool

  175. thing is that the naturally better you become, the better

  176. you dress up. That's why I kind of notice love

  177. people who don't really care about addressing right. And you

  178. also got to trust, and the discipler will need to

  179. commit to that. The disciple will spend time to do that.

  180. It's not easy to be let me tell you about it.

  181. It's not easy at all, guys. But what is the

  182. goal of discipleship. The goal of discipleship is to make

  183. everyone more like Jesus. That is the goal of discipleship,

  184. more like Jesus. Why so that we can become sons

  185. and daughters. I'm not sure how many people will preach

  186. about this, about being sons and daughters of the House

  187. suns and daughters of God. Let's read Relations chapter four,

  188. verse six or seven. Because you are His sons, God

  189. send the spirit of his son into our hearts, the

  190. spirit who calls out abba Father. So you're no longer

  191. a slave but God's child. And since you are his child,

  192. God has made you also an heirror. See, the goal

  193. is not merely saved people, but maturity because and you've

  194. probably heard this before. If the goal was to save people,

  195. once you become Christianity, just go to heaven. Why waste space? Right?

  196. We just get people to the right team, get pure

  197. heaven and suffers. I'm out here for what right? Just

  198. go to heaven? Okay, but that's not the goal. That

  199. is the entrance, That is the start. That is the

  200. probational period. Actually, we're all in provisional period to go

  201. to heaven. Do you know that that is the start?

  202. You have to prove yourself in the proviational period or no,

  203. you won't get the job right. But sometimes we kind

  204. of forget because we're enjoying the benefits of the proviational period.

  205. We've got a mature friends, let me kind of challenge

  206. your mindset a little bit about this concept of church,

  207. because I think a lot of people have a lot

  208. of concept about her church. Do you know that church

  209. can be a lot of things and church itself can

  210. be a lot of things that define what I went

  211. to church meant? You'll get that what I meant to

  212. went to So when you say I went to church,

  213. what does that mean to you? Okay, I came, I

  214. checked my list, I took a group selfie photo, I

  215. went to church. Right? Is that is that? It? It's church?

  216. Or I that's worship? That's word I went to church?

  217. Do you know? And some people have that they don't

  218. care about the fellowship want. They will disappear at first,

  219. so you don't know that want. But when you talk

  220. to them, they'll say I'm part of Exampanga and then

  221. all the leaders are that but they don't see you anyway. Right,

  222. So what is the definition or your definition of I

  223. went to church? We have a lot of definition because

  224. of our experience, right, and I'm not saying it's bad.

  225. Let me ask us this question. What is important to

  226. us in church? How do we choose what ches to

  227. go to? Right? Get you're by, I can ask you

  228. this question now, Okay, is it the worship or the

  229. worship very good every time John worship or I'm damn man,

  230. then John not worship. It's okay. I can take a miss.

  231. The word? Is it? I know I'm doing a horrible job.

  232. Next week. I don't know whether if they say next time,

  233. if you're going to tet or passion coming, don't don't come,

  234. don't come? Is it the word that's important? Because I

  235. don't feel feeling. I don't feel like I received and

  236. I don't feel happy. You know, last week I Canna

  237. Mara by my boss. Now come here and Cannamara again.

  238. I'm so sorry. Please don't give me right. Why is it?

  239. Is it whether someone said hi to you or not? Well,

  240. I tell you I've heard of this before. That's how

  241. West stressed to be. Or no, I wouldn't even say

  242. past it just course right. You must say hi to everybody.

  243. You missaying hi to one percent one week. That's it.

  244. That's it. They don't care for me, really, they don't

  245. care for me. Really, they didn't say, they didn't come

  246. up to me, shake my hand. I'm offended. Is that

  247. it's important to you? I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm

  248. just saying that it's that the most important thing to you?

  249. Let's think about it other day. Is it a place

  250. where you feel like you belong? This is where powerful?

  251. Is right? Oh? I belong here? I belong there? Is

  252. that the main reason I wrote here? Is it? The

  253. projector screen? Is that the most important thing? Sig? I face?

  254. Maybe to some people it's the most important thing, right

  255. it is? You know why I say that because I've

  256. been in meetings where we spend two hours talking about

  257. the projector screen? Can we joke about it, but it's true?

  258. Or four hours talking about why team cannot play the

  259. cords properly and I know it very well? Is that?

  260. And yes, you seem right? Uh? Or or never follow

  261. the practice already send the guide track to follow exactly

  262. like what we hear in the concert? Must follow you? John?

  263. Why didn't? Why? God? No dance more? Is that the

  264. most important thing? Do you know? We can argue about that.

  265. It's the most important what goes on screen? Well? I

  266. still remember when I was doing XTB the last time

  267. and we did church video announcements. It was a highlight.

  268. So he got no other chance. Not everybody's doing video announcements. Okay,

  269. so we kind of stop because we're in the cool

  270. kid anymore? Right? Right? But but is that the most

  271. important means? No? Church? Announcements cannot ranch church? Is it activities?

  272. Why will go activity or not? No? Activity cannot mean

  273. people how how to get attached? But sound here proven

  274. that you don't activity to be a test you know

  275. who you are. But there's nothing for ABCD. I don't

  276. know what is the most important thing. So, friends, I'm

  277. not knocking all of these things and saying that all

  278. these things the portant. We don't need to No, no, no no.

  279. I would be the first to say no, we need it.

  280. We need worship, we need the word, right, we need

  281. someone to say hi to us. But if just so

  282. happened that week Selena forgot those don't hurl please remember

  283. all the ten other times she said hi to you.

  284. You know, do you need to feel like you belong

  285. in the place? Of course I do agree that you

  286. need to at least feel like you are welcome and

  287. you're at home. They're comfortable. It's the projectedy screen important.

  288. Of course, I'm immediate person. I think it's important. Activity

  289. is important. Of course, we're trying so hard to do

  290. so many things. Uh. Thirty first of August Xbia is

  291. trying to do some family day after so many years,

  292. we are like doing exactly. You know, it's all important. However,

  293. focused matters. That's why we said discipleship focus, focus matters,

  294. because the church can always be distracted by good things

  295. that it becomes the most important thing. You're your catch

  296. how you can easily shift? Do you know how? We

  297. can easily decide? Very easily. We can decide, make decisions,

  298. make strong opinionated decisions because something is very important to us.

  299. But you want to know what's cool. Discipleship keeps us

  300. that if you don't know what that means, chain connected

  301. to the most important thing, which is transformation. Jesus didn't

  302. come so that we can have a show. Jesus came

  303. so that you and I will be transformed. Don't catch

  304. that not We get distracted, We get starry eyed. We

  305. look for things. We look for the biggest stage, actually

  306. your stage, very big, my stage higher some just by

  307. no stage right. We look for that, we get, we

  308. get we get caught up with it, and we miss

  309. the point. Friends, we don't want to miss the point

  310. in our church. That's why the value we hold the

  311. discipleship focus. All these things I mentioned important. Yes, it's important,

  312. but it will not be more important than discipleship. Let

  313. me give you one example. I remember my worship coordinator

  314. told me Alvin not enough worship team in XPJ to

  315. serve because different people are, you know, just going through

  316. different things. Okay, And I have told him many times before,

  317. and he's worried. I said, bro, oh, we need to worship.

  318. Is our voices. So if that Sunday nobody plays or so,

  319. I will play right and not to say they don't

  320. want to know, it's just so happened, and said we

  321. can worship. Don't you think a disciple of Christ will

  322. be able to worship God in any situation? Think about it?

  323. Oh no, no, cannot, cannot, No econ cannot. Let me

  324. tell you right. One of the most powerful worship sessions

  325. I've had now was in India in the Heart made

  326. of how Done and still can smell it one. It

  327. was hot, smelly, right. I was there for Mission trip.

  328. I remember it so clearly because it changed my perspective

  329. about worship. Right. There was no gear, it was just voices.

  330. They were singing in Tamil. I'm from Klan, but I

  331. don't understand fully Tamil. I only can say nada, that's

  332. it and match up and support. They can sing Noandre,

  333. yesus and all that thing right. It was the best

  334. worship session I've had my life. That's why if you

  335. come to me and say I need ABCD, I'm so sorry.

  336. I'm so sorry. Don't need guitar, voice, Kennedy, presence of

  337. copy there. But all this is important and can help.

  338. Can if you have it, go for it. So we're

  339. not saying I cannot know if you hear it, go

  340. for it. But is it the most important thing? No,

  341. Only a true disciple will understand that. Only a true

  342. disciple will be able to accept that. Don't have to

  343. go to India to worship been a heart made of

  344. crowdown to experience God's presence. Seriously, no, egkorn smelly? You

  345. know how to worship God with smell? Can God moved

  346. because the people there? See eye was affected by the

  347. people there. They were worshiping God with all their hearts.

  348. When I look at it, I'm like, these are disciples, man,

  349. These are disciples man. No excuse us, what do you

  350. want to become? Discipleship keeps usted to the most important thing, transformation. Friends,

  351. So in your life. Can I just encourage you on

  352. one thing? On your focus? Can you focus on transformation?

  353. Can you focus on transformation in your own life? Maybe

  354. you know I was encouraging some people when we're talking

  355. about word focused. I said, you don't talk about let's

  356. talk about the Bible. Okay, it's July. Now, it's July, right,

  357. July twelfth. Okay, say another, well less than six months

  358. are can can X and bunk have a Goala? Okay?

  359. This just thought. I don't read your office nor official.

  360. Can you have a goal at least any of you

  361. have a goal to read as much of the Bible

  362. as you can before you die, not even by any

  363. of that. Before you die, you at least read the

  364. Bible once. It doesn't matter whether you understand it not right,

  365. can or not think about it? Right? Yes, we try to.

  366. Sometime we set ourselves off a failure because we set

  367. a goal that's so high. Right, cannot do maybe doing

  368. so stressed? Read just one verse a day? Don't have

  369. to understand it? Then at least you know before you

  370. die you read the Bible cover the cover. Can I confident?

  371. They say I've done it before? No, I have not.

  372. I've read the Gospels. Laugh, right, I've read equally says this,

  373. but I've not touched Revelation because I don't understand it.

  374. I've not touched Leviticus. Cause a lot to goest there.

  375. I'm just joking, Okay, So I don't know, can you?

  376. Why not? Right? Transformation? Can that need the transformation? Just

  377. I just want to challenge you guys to think a

  378. little bit about it. Don't say cannot. God wants to

  379. do something in your life, and sometimes we only look

  380. for the big transformation. God is interested in the small,

  381. incremental transformation. I will share. I've shared this before. I'm

  382. a i man, still dealing with it. But I'm a

  383. very emotional person. Grew up in the Kinment family. Unfortunately

  384. its lean out with a king right and emotion is

  385. one thing. Anger is another thing. And I always thought

  386. that God has dealt with it. But I'm still dealing

  387. with it. Right, Once in a while it will come out.

  388. But can I tell you that it's way less ready,

  389. way way less than last time. Because there is a

  390. transformation that's happening in my life. I'm not so affected

  391. by a lot of things anymore, right, Not because I

  392. don't care, Because I you know, God has transformded my

  393. life and that is the benefit of what I received,

  394. you know. But it took time. Time, It took It

  395. took discipleship as well. It took God molding me right,

  396. It took me learning from people. There's different ways to

  397. do things right. It took it took the maturity and

  398. the weakness of someone else to tell me, el me

  399. is okay. I still remember clearly there was an instance

  400. in work, you know, right where can I be real?

  401. You can? I? Can I be real? Okay? I don't

  402. let anybody shaid this. I remember the instance in the work.

  403. I did something that someone else didn't like, okay, and

  404. just to let you know that I worked full time. Okay, anyway,

  405. this person not around the la Okay, let's not get

  406. into that. But I did something that person don't like

  407. and the person was so upset with me and was

  408. trying to address me. And the person was let's just say,

  409. higher ranking than me, right, and it was difficult because

  410. it was an honest mistake. But this person also maybe

  411. very emotional. Why couldn't mara no? And I can you

  412. know I was crying there and the person still went

  413. for it. It's just mean I mean, I, okay, me

  414. and the person let me not give too much information,

  415. and it was so tough, and I didn't know how

  416. to handle the situation and also upset. I was upset.

  417. I was angry at the person. I was angry that,

  418. you know, how could you not understand? And then I

  419. talked to my heart leader and my hard lady, my

  420. handed leader. He's an awesome guy. He's right now in

  421. Chang nine. He actually gave me some good tastes. He said,

  422. tell me next time when this happens, just tell this

  423. person that you have to do something else. Don't deal

  424. with it because it got personnel. Just tell this person

  425. that you can't deal with this now. You have to

  426. do it later because we have to work together, right

  427. and everybody wants the best. Okay, So I remember, I'm like, okay, okay, okay.

  428. You know, after I recovered, and I remember, true enough,

  429. six months down the line, something similar happened again, okay,

  430. and I was able to handle it maturely because when

  431. the person started getting worked up. You look at person,

  432. I said, I said, I didn't you see. Okay. The

  433. worst thing about telling a person that's upset and now

  434. you say you are so upset. I cannot talk to

  435. you now they're getting more upset. So I didn't do that.

  436. I said, hey, I understand that this urgent. Understand that

  437. is what I will talk to you later, knowing full

  438. well that I need to give this person time to chill,

  439. to talk to me objectively before I do anything, right,

  440. it took me ten minutes to say, hey, I know

  441. you rushes, I know you need, but it's okay. I'll

  442. talk to you later, you know. And of course I

  443. didn't say when you're ready, because obviously the person is

  444. like becoming mom up. I said, really, really, I know,

  445. but I can't and I walked off a person stay upset.

  446. Later on, we did talk to the person and we

  447. did sort it out okay objectively, right, And I remember

  448. going to my heartland. I said, hey, I didn't break.

  449. I'm so happy I didn't break. I can manage this.

  450. And of course after that, I've had many other difficult

  451. concoctions with difficult people, but I'm super chill, like, oh, okay, cool.

  452. Not to handle a ready isn't that transformation? But it

  453. was incremental transformation. It didn't happen overnight. Right. There was

  454. trust with my heart leader you know, I didn't fully

  455. understand the advice given, but I just followed exactly right,

  456. and I saw the fruit of it, and there was submission. Friends,

  457. Do you know one of the hardest thing about the

  458. Zampionship is submission. It is, but I can tell you

  459. clearly the fruit of the submission is said, we grow.

  460. He said, we grow Romans trialve too, says, and do

  461. not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by

  462. the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what

  463. is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

  464. Do you know that the renewing of our minds take time?

  465. It does. It takes time renewing our minds. It takes

  466. the word, it takes teaching. And the renewing of our

  467. mind takes a different perspective, right, It takes someone showing

  468. us a different perspective on things and how to live.

  469. I really like looking to put Can and asking questions

  470. because he really has a different perspective right about life

  471. and about God, and he's really he really just want

  472. to please God. How you talk to him as well,

  473. he would just steered through that way And some things

  474. might seem crazy then like now I'm not so crazy?

  475. Because it come the bus. Right. If you are here

  476. and you're discipling people, right, disciple them in the ways

  477. of the Lord, but show them a different perspective. Let

  478. me highlight show them, show them means you have to

  479. walk the path on You can't disciple someone or no,

  480. not can't. It's difficult to disciple someone and to talk

  481. the talk without walking the talk. But the cool thing

  482. about our church is that a lot of the disciplers

  483. we walk the talk. We walk first, we bang well first,

  484. we experience first, then we tell. So it comes from

  485. where it doesn't come from for fun onne. You know,

  486. it takes someone showing us a different perspective on things

  487. and how they live. You know, we can be very

  488. fixed with our perspective. It's something I've learned because I'm

  489. also doing coaching now with people, and I realized that

  490. not not jim coaching, Okay, career coaching, gim coaching, cannot.

  491. I don't have to. Yeah, elberlingk does that. And I

  492. realized something very important. A lot of times people feel

  493. they cannot because their perspective is start. It's just that

  494. it's not even about resources or what they can do

  495. or the ability. No it's just the way they think.

  496. That's it. The moment you can unlock the way you

  497. think we can move forward, ready, because we are stuck.

  498. The moment we can unlock the way we think about

  499. God in our lives, we can move forward. Really, you know,

  500. but we are always stuck because we have a certain

  501. perspective about how God works, a certain perspective about how

  502. things are, a certain perspective about life. And here we

  503. are reading in Roman Child Child that we should not

  504. be conformed to this world. Do you know that the

  505. world also gives you a certain perspective that we subscribe to.

  506. Do you know you can unsubscribe to it. You can

  507. unsubscribe to the ideologies of the world. You can do

  508. you want to? Are you or not? Why is there?

  509. I was just sharing this. Why sometimes do you feel

  510. like there's a struggle between church and the things we do,

  511. or between church or the things repecting in church, or

  512. between your faith and stuff outside. There is a struggle

  513. because we are still subscribing to the ideologies of the

  514. world and trying to fit it into God cannot That's

  515. why I struggle. The only way we can deal with

  516. it is to unsubscribe from the world. And to subscribe

  517. from God's plans. That's the only way. And you read

  518. in the Bible time and time again, God is reminding

  519. us now we are no longer a slave to sin,

  520. very strong words, but we are a slave to Christ.

  521. It's a slave, but to something better. Right, So we

  522. gotta we gotta catch that. Decide. You feel like there's

  523. a struggle. Why is there a struggle. There's a struggle

  524. because of this mainly an internal struggle. Oh, I think

  525. it supposed even the way we think God works on

  526. I realize on that's a struggle, and God works a

  527. certain way. You want to know how God works, just

  528. read the Bible. Right, The more you read the Bible,

  529. the more you understand God's works. God works. Don't figure

  530. out how God works by listening to a man. Don't

  531. read for yourself. Even if you listen to the man,

  532. make sure the references the men news is correct. Right, Okay,

  533. So perspective First Corinthians eleven to one. Paul encourages people.

  534. And you see Paul was graf to say this, imitate

  535. me as an imitate Christ. Imitate me as an imitate Christ.

  536. You know, was he fully christy? Not really? Or so?

  537. Because there was once where he didn't want to forgive someone.

  538. You know, although Barnabas want to. They got some drama story.

  539. And I'm telling you this because if you want to

  540. know more, go and read the Baby yourself. Past imitate

  541. me as an imitate Christ. Let's talk a little bit

  542. about repentance repentance. Who preached about repentance? Do you remember

  543. who preached repentance? First person I preach about repentance was Jesus,

  544. No joined the Baptist. He preached our rependance first. Then

  545. it was Jesus, what do you say, repent for the

  546. Kingdom of God is at hand? Right? Repent because the

  547. Kingdom of God is at hand. And then after that

  548. the first evangelistic message Peter preached about repentance And what

  549. is repentance? The word repentance in Greek means a change

  550. of thinking. Okay, The Greek word means meta noah. It

  551. literally translates to changing of one's mind or a transported

  552. transformative change of heart meta noah meta metamorphosis change. It's

  553. not metamorphosis, it's metam noah, changing of mind or a

  554. transformation of your heart. A mind change means a behavior change.

  555. This one I know very well because I mean special

  556. needs ministry, and it's all about behavior change. A mindset

  557. change is a behavior change, right, It's not just a

  558. change of feelings. And this is a way important for

  559. me to highlight we rely a lot on feelings. Actually,

  560. I would argue with overrelied feelings, right, Can I be honest?

  561. I don't feel like coming here to appreciate you this morning?

  562. I was red tired. Maybe I shall call Selene Selina

  563. and said, I'm Sigla. You don't feel like it? Right,

  564. We see there's an overreliance of feelings. Sometimes something you

  565. don't feel like saying hello to people. Right. I can

  566. tell you many many times where I don't feel like

  567. doing a lot of things, but I just do it anyway,

  568. and then I realize not so bad, you know, for herself?

  569. Do then bat Right. It's not just a change of feeling, friends,

  570. but it is a change of thinking, and it's a

  571. renewal of mine. And when that happens, you know what

  572. happens after that transformation? Well, I tell you it's so

  573. amazing when you see someone transform in their life. I

  574. AH used to be very negative, but now suddenly not negative.

  575. I use to you know, be very angry, but not

  576. not angry. I I used to complain about but now

  577. don't complain. It is the mind change and then the

  578. transformation of the life. Amazing, right do you want that?

  579. Do you look forward to stuff like that? Or or

  580. you know, I don't change. It's not just an emotional change.

  581. Now A lot of times it's emotional change. You know.

  582. The thing about emotional change, right, is that it'sactly thing one. Oh,

  583. I feel great, I feel God, God, I want to

  584. give you everything. Then tomorrow feel horrible and then don't

  585. do it. But a mindset change is different. A mindset changes.

  586. Once the mind changes, you follow true, So repentance is

  587. about that. It is a mindset change. Too many people

  588. take discipleship as just Bible study or let's pray together,

  589. but actually it's a change of mindset which leads to transformation.

  590. That's true disciper ship. You know who understands as well.

  591. Psychologists understand as well. Teachers understand as well because you

  592. just spend time teaching teaching about changing perspective. Right, you're

  593. changing first perspective. That's what trainers do it. If you're

  594. a trainer here, if you run a business, you deal

  595. with people. You understand about this as well. Decipership is

  596. not just the program. It is true transformation. It's a

  597. change of a mindset. In our church, we call it

  598. relational decipership, not just by the study decipership. Do you

  599. know what you can claim that? I remember talking to

  600. a lot of people before and I would say, hey,

  601. you know we're big of a discipenship and a lot

  602. of times right other church partners, pasts and leaders whill

  603. ask me this question, which book you use, which discipleship

  604. program you have? Which? Which is it? Right? And I

  605. have to tell the present uh no program it's a

  606. spending them together, macm together, chill together, talk together. Huh yes,

  607. it's how far you how far you fly? So there's

  608. still that relationship. Recently, one of my one of my disciplers, Mike,

  609. is planning to my grid to Finland. No, and then

  610. we didn't MENTU catch up? You know some you might

  611. know him. Then you when you didn't men shou to

  612. catch up? And I remember and Manashoe finally call out

  613. it got time in my friend and as we talked

  614. I did ask him, I say, hey, bro, just want

  615. to check because I don't take for granted because he

  616. he uh, because he he is my disciple, disciple, sorry,

  617. And I did have to ask him, hey, are you

  618. still keen on this relationship. If not, I'm okay to

  619. just be friends. And he said, passard uh, I'm still

  620. keen to build this relationship together. Although I'm so far away.

  621. I'm saying, great, you know, good guy. He tells me

  622. that he's going to church. I'm like, great, go ahead

  623. and serve right, But I did say if he doesn't

  624. look out there, come back major, and he's like, yeah,

  625. I'm open to it, you know. So the hypership it's

  626. not all fun and games are no deciber ship. Sometimes

  627. you disciple someone and you see them doing things they

  628. shouldn't do. You can stop them. But if they're already

  629. how and if they still I don't want to do how,

  630. then you just got to pray for them now and

  631. pray that they do not destroy themselves and later they

  632. come back. Then you also have to hold your tongue

  633. when they say I'm so sorry, maybe should listen to you.

  634. Don't say I told you so, you know right. We

  635. call it relational discipleship friends, because it's a working with

  636. it's a doing life with and I know maybe Asian

  637. culture or whatever, we all they're not don't like, you know,

  638. very uncomfortable. A lot of them are not for it.

  639. And it's not just a discipleship that celebrate wins by

  640. social sharing witnesses because we want someone else to move forward?

  641. Where else can you find I want? I won't go

  642. so hard about where else can you find that? The

  643. preachers and the pastors on this stage we are we

  644. feel about a weaknesses, even though you're like, you cannot

  645. see that, but these are weaknesses we share to tell

  646. you that we're not perfect, but we all have Jesus

  647. and Christ leads us. Right. It's also to be confident

  648. in our weaknesses because, like Paul says in Corinthians, that's

  649. why I take pleasure my weakness and in the insults, hardships,

  650. persecutions and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when

  651. I'm weak, I'm strong because Christ makes me strong. And that,

  652. my friends, is a promise that all of us here

  653. should keep, because we're all not strong, but because we

  654. have Christ in us, we are made strong in our situation.

  655. So you don't have to rely on yourself. You don't

  656. have to rely on your your talent and your capability.

  657. All you need to do is rely on Jesus. Amen.

  658. I'll leave you with one last talk before I end.

  659. I hope I'm okay with time. Right, So I talk

  660. a lot about discipleship, and uh, you know, like like

  661. I said, I'm I'm also talking to you guys as

  662. our partners, as our family members. That is, if you

  663. have not come to this place where you say, hey,

  664. maybe let let me just try and experience and try

  665. this thing called disciple ship that the church is talking about. No,

  666. and then crice you to not just consider, but take action.

  667. Try it out. You know, ask questions, got some questions.

  668. People ask that, Oh, if I disciple for you forever.

  669. I know I have passed on people that I disciple

  670. to other people. When I feel like I think maybe

  671. someone else will do better, you know, then let's find

  672. a way to you know, we've done I've done that before. Right. Uh.

  673. It has to make sense because sometimes naturally organically it works.

  674. Sometimes it's just a metter of growth. Right, that's discipleship

  675. because at the end of the day, it's not about

  676. your mind and he all of us belonged to Jesus. Okay,

  677. so we have to. We're careful not to clar claim

  678. on people's life, you know, right, But there is a

  679. purse and the power in desciper shape, and there's a

  680. reason why Christ said it your catch there. So I

  681. hope at least you'll be open to try it out,

  682. because at the end of the day, disciper ship is

  683. a two way street. It is a two way street.

  684. Let me give you two examples in the Bible that

  685. talks about theciper ship Mentel four nineteen says Jesus called

  686. out to them, come follow me, and I will show

  687. you how to fish for people. Then they left their

  688. nets at once and followed him all the way until

  689. he was cratified, all the way, until they build the church,

  690. all the way, until all of them died gruesome depths.

  691. And they were joyful because they said, even I remember,

  692. I think it's bitter that said I cannot be hung

  693. the same way that my savor is hung hung me

  694. upside down. I'm not worthy, or I tell you this

  695. is like next level. Right, They followed Christ. And then

  696. you also have the rich young ruler in Mark ten

  697. one looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him,

  698. you know, Jesus feels that for everyone of you here,

  699. looking at you and your life, he feels genuine love

  700. for you. Right, and he gave the instruction there is

  701. still one thing you haven't done. He told him, go

  702. and sell all your possessions and give the money to

  703. the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then

  704. come follow me. Isn't that an invitation from Christ? But

  705. you look at the responsor at this, At this, the

  706. man's face fell, not felt like fall off loved, but

  707. Frona said, lad he felt, and he went away, didn't

  708. even say bye bye. Jesus fell and ran away. Ask

  709. that's how you gotta be wa careful? The question asked

  710. Jesus' excit, ask question, what else can I do? Give answer,

  711. you don't do? Set and then way, For he had

  712. many possessions. There were a lot of things he's still

  713. holding back, right, his possessions good or bad. Well, I

  714. won't go through doctrinally, but all I understand is based

  715. on these exchanges. He didn't own the possessions. The possessions

  716. owned him. That's why Jesus said, there's only one thing

  717. you need to do, because to follow Christ, you cannot

  718. have anything else. Owning you do you know that there

  719. are many people that were also doing quite well following Christ.

  720. You know the guy that brought Jesus the tomb, he's

  721. not poor. Jesus ask him to leave his possessions. He didn't,

  722. but he was a secret disciple. So let's not just

  723. do it. Oh, you must be poor and you follow Jesus.

  724. Don't think that we are. But the possessions had the

  725. rich young ruler. So he kind of tells me that

  726. if you don't follow Christ, you cannot have everything else.

  727. You just got to focus on him. So I have

  728. a question for us this morning. Not the easiest message

  729. to share, but it's a way ful feeling one if

  730. you can at least come to this place. Which should

  731. we decide? We've got to think about it. I pray

  732. you are big a decision. I pray you a final way.

  733. I pray that you are not just happy playing church. Well,

  734. we're strong. Other words, let's not play church. I remember

  735. the earliest of ex church passus, and I always say

  736. I'm not here to pay church. I didn't leave my

  737. pictures for you know. She will say things like that,

  738. and I still remember until today, you know, but it's true.

  739. Having the opportunity to lead church, having the opportunity to

  740. do this. It's true. We don't want to just pay

  741. church because there are so much more important things that

  742. we can do, so much more people out there than

  743. it cries, so much more people out there. They need

  744. to experience His love. And if we're just playing church,

  745. nothing's going to happen. The way that the Lord uses us, friends,

  746. is through our commitment and devotion to him. That's how

  747. he uses us. If we are disciples, then we will

  748. disciple others. But if we are not disciples, how can

  749. we disciple? Who are we discipling other? Spirit? If you

  750. feel with the spirit, then there's an outpouring of spirit.

  751. If you're following the values, then you can practice and

  752. share the values. It works that way. And I really

  753. just sense that God wants a break through in your life,

  754. but you got to walk. Receiving Christ was one decision.

  755. Do you know that following Jesus every day is decision

  756. every day they have to make because there were many

  757. that left it in the Bible when it was inconvenient,

  758. when it didn't make sense. When he left him, we

  759. all believe us here. I can be straight with you guys,

  760. does Christ love you? Yes? Let us? Does God have

  761. a plan for yes, let us. Do you have a

  762. purpose be in this church? Yes, you do. You know

  763. why you're here. I always believe in this that whoever

  764. that comes to the church, whether you're new or whether

  765. you've been here for a long time, God has a

  766. purpose for you. The question always it is not whether

  767. God or not. The question always is are we going

  768. to do anything about it? Because that's hon us right.

  769. Are we going to grow? Are we going to be pray?

  770. Are we going to have a different perspective? Are we

  771. going to allow the scriptures to perme in our lives?

  772. And bad food? That is a thing that we have

  773. to decide. And the faster we decide, the faster we

  774. move forward, the further, the faster we experience Him, the

  775. more we will experience God in our lives. That is
