How Do You Know You Are Christian | Pr Matthew Chang

You're listening to a message to go from ax Church. We hope this message

will light up your tea. Turn with me to a second Peter, chapter

one, and I'm gonna give a bit of introduction here before we start.

So Peter, of course, the author is Peter, the Apostle, Peter,

and Peter, he said, a different stage of his life. I

think the last time I came here, we spoke about what was about Peter?

Do you realized I talk about about Peter recently? You know, I

talk about Peter the last time I was talking about Abraham, Now about Peter.

Peter. What was it about during the last time? During the gardener

get Semini? And then now that he looks upon his younger self, he

realizes how much things he has to learn, and right now where he is,

right now, he is not just a disciple. He is an apostle,

a teacher and older and it comes to that a lot of responsibilities.

And he's also planted more things, seeing more things. And he's also about

to die, by the way, you know, he's about to die,

and he knows how he's going to die when Jesus says revealed to him.

You know, I don't know how you live your life, your next twenty

to thirty years of your life. If you've been told how you're going to

die, he's an interesting prospect, you know, you know, like,

oh, how are you gonna how are you gonna die? You know,

it's not interesting, but it's good in a way. It's kind of a

something for us to reflect. If you know how you're going to pass on,

how would you leave your life? You know, Bible talks about that

we need to learn to a number our days, isn't it learned to a

number of days? Or that we will love live with more circumspectly, more

meaningfully, more purposefully. He's older, and he's also seen a lot of

things, and he's about to of course move on to the next you know,

persecution of his life. He sees his church, the church being attacked,

and you must understand the church at this stage is also kind of different.

Different churches are set up by different apostles, okay, and the apostles

are writing letters to one another, to different churches, and some of the

letters get passed on as well, like Paul writes to efforts to Corinthians,

and sometimes the other churches will take copies and then they passed on it as

well. And so because of that you will have people in the church,

for example, that Peter expanded, they received the letters of Paul and then

they would take one teaching and they would compare with Peters. Quite common,

okay nowadays we see this in our church as well nowadays. And they I

follow this pastor, I followed that pastor. I don't follow Australian one.

I followed American one on it, I don't follow American, I follow UK

one. I don't follow UK one for Korea and a Chorea and the best

one. You know, so many head people had so many different religious identities,

you know, they follow different ones. So at that time it's not

uncommon as well that people I follow Apollos, I followed, I followed Peter

Yemen, right, And so you have in this church people who do them

okay So, people who because of the of their flesh nature, they tend

to attach identities to things they are not not meant to be, okay um.

And not only that, they have also influenced strong influence from their circular

culture, a lot of Greek Hellenistic Roman culture that pervaded into their society.

Idol worship is very, very prominent. It's not just worship, you know.

It's like it's not like just hey, you go to someone's house.

They have different idols, they different worship. No, I'm talking way much

more because must understand religion and their governments are very connected and intertwined. Um.

Let's say, for example, like you know a lot of Romans they

worship, uh, this famous god, the Goddess of Diana. I mean,

if you know the Goddess of Diana, it's not it's not wonder woman.

Okay, I think Goddess of Dinah. The worship is done. No,

no, no, that's a truth. Okay. Goddess of Dina is

far from there. You know, the Goddess of Dina is the goddess of

fertility. Well die love the love history, yes, okay, same class,

Okay, Goddess of fertility. Okay. And actually not just uh the

Roman gods at least Roman and Greek. I think Roman could be Greek.

Okay, I'm not historian, by the way, but Goddess of fertility exists

in different civilizations as well. Egyptian also they have for god fertility, um.

And so what happens is that and actually there's a Temple of Dina even

still erect right now in I think Athians can't remember what it is, but

I remember there's too and the goddess fertility to to have you have abundance over

your crops of your own family as well. And they have so called servants

of the Goddess of Diana servants and in modern day we will call it basically

a prostitution. Okay, that happens, and it's very recommon. And they're

talking about you're going to dB KL or NBPJA you see, like you a

goddess servants of Diana around and then they say, hey, you need to

bless your thing, you know, the band. So that type of practice

is very common. You get I'm saying, it's very common. And there

are other things as well, okay, And so they have all these influences

coming in and what happened to that church, it will read true and rough

second Peter, you will seeing Peter Peter and dealing a lot with what false

teaching and false teachers three main doctrines that actually came into that church. And

nowadays you probably will see a bit as well. It's always a variation of

one another. Okay, So I'll go through treat these three main doctrines.

If you reatro secument that you will see that very clearly. Okay. The

first wrong teaching and one wrong doctrine that day that was pervading among the the

church was that they don't believe that Jesus is Lord and king. Hey,

they just believe that Peter and the whole disciples just made it up. It's

a whole hawks, it's a big conspiracy theory. They're all getting together and

make Jesus, you know, disappear. You know, Jesus didn't die,

he didn't rise from the day, he somehow survived. He laughed, you

know, with Mary, go to France and leave a quiet life of the

dead, you know. And then after that he's too was discovered and someone

wrote a book about it. Scare. Yeah, it's interesting, you know.

Yeah, but you think about it, and all the Romans is not.

It's so true because in all the Romans discovered invented the most tortuous in

our punishment ever to be created by him, one of the most tortuous,

I want to go so far, one of the most torturous and public dispay

of human punishment to execute a person. But yet he somehow didn't successfully execute

Jesus. Okay, okay, I'm not sure whether they can. They are

not. I'm being sarcastic, Okay, yeah, I mean right, you

invent a public execution, but yet you are not able to kill somebody.

It's it's a it's a it's an embarrassment to the whole entire government. Okay,

it's um. It's quite interesting. So some religions even disbelieve that.

They don't. First of all, they said Jesus didn't rise from the dead,

so after that they couldn't rebuild it. They said Jesus didn't die.

So okay, really this really literally that how far they went. I couldn't

prove that Jesus didn't rise from the dead, so I proved that Jesus didn't

die. Okay, okay, So how far people will actually go for it?

Okay. So there there's this group of teaching that came in. So

they disbelieve in that. So you will see later in the chapter that Peter

talks about his witness and heavenly father anointing acknowledging Jesus, you know, as

his own son as well. You will see that. Okay. So there's

the first doctrine. So the second doctrine that was coming around. I told

you that the the people who are receiving different letters from different pauses in it.

So some from Palm, so they took pause, letter from Romans,

from you know, Galatians, from emphasis efficients. Those talk about grace,

you know, no and no longer going back to the law, not his

circumcision anymore. Okay, grace you know, save too. They took that

and then they went hypergrace. I mean right, it means when you study,

once you're safer, don't you do anything Anymoreladay, you can just leave

your own life, just do whatever it is, leave your long life.

Ready, let's it already you you arrived ready basically okay, you the moment

you receive grace, you arrived ready and wanted to air anymore. And it's

like, so they took off all that, took off this Porse letter and

the companions with Peter's one literally their companions with say Peter is not here,

but he's teaching this lifestyles too strict that wow, are we still pursuing holiness?

You know? Wow? Are we still pursuing good works? Loving one

another? Yeah? I mean right, But then they start to deceive themselves.

This freedom was supposed to have abundant living. What is abundant living?

But the living at that time not Peter will talking. Two people started to

Hey, if I'm safe ready, the world is not going to affect me.

Wow, do in the world. It's not gonna affect me, a

safe redeemer, perpetual salvation. And they start to have sexual immorality, They

start to deceive people, swindling moneies you gave me, and they start to

spoke, even like you while speak very boldly against the apostles, wrong teachings.

So they went they so they're basic that they took this freedom that Christ

has brought for us and they abused it. Okay, they bought they abused

this teaching of freedom. The third teaching that went wrong was that they don't

believe that there is a final reckoning. They don't believe that there is the

day of the law, that there will be no judgment. What that means

if I simplify that, whether you want to go theology about that, it's

basically they don't believe there will be any more consequences. Yeah, right.

The lack of consequence is the one that drives perversion in the human hearts.

You see amazing is now when you know that you don't have a consequence,

that you don't have to count for rea people let loose. You seen runs

rampant nor consequence and things people say, things, do things and behave in

certain ways without consequence. So a final recooning and you will rate in chapter

in chapter two or I think two or three talk Peter talks about the day

of the Lord as well. Okay, so it's all inside there. I'm

not making this advocate. It's all there. When you reach through you will

see oh yeah, no, the context will be right. This is what

Peter is addressing. This is why he says, this is why I said

it. So now you have a beer understanding. Okay. So now then

they go through the verse now and you will see what I'm talking about and

how Peter counters sprinkle all over through these passages here. Okay. So first

verse says, here Simon Peter, a bond servant and apostle of Jesus Christ.

Now to those who obtain light precious faith with us by the righteousness of

our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. So Peter is addressing first of our

who those who obtain light precious faith. So every one of us starts off

with this precious faith his name. If you believe, you have obtained this

precious faith, Okay, faith that allows you to believe and to receive Jesus

into your heart. Okay. And it was only possible because of the righteousness

that Jesus perform. Okay. Now verse two we go on forward okay.

Versus a long one. Okay. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in

the knowledge of God and of our wer and of Jesus our Lord, as

his divine power has given to us all things to pertain to light, to

life and godliness Okay. Means God has given us resources by the grace of

his divine power. Okay, through the knowledge of Him who call us by

glory and virtue. Now verse foll by which have been given to us exceedingly

great and precious promises. Okay, God is giving us given us great and

precious promises. This is very important to underline that exceedingly great and precious promises.

That through these you may be partakers of the divine nature. Underlying that

okay, partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in

the world through last. Okay, so let me just unpack a bit from

here. So now we talked about earlier that we have being received this precious

faith, we received it from the Father. And now think about it.

How many of you have invited people to come to trache people? So how

do you how do you go about your narrative? Hey, would you like

to come and join us for Sunday service? Hey, we got worship somethingk

go coffee, go good fellowship and then you can hear the word God.

No, no, no compulsion you know. But how about if I change

it up when I use Peter's word? Now, Hey, Stephen, would

you like to come to our church and be the partakers of the divine nature

of God? Sounds more epic than would you be more compelled to? But

this is why you wrote it all. He's calling it being the particles of

the divine edture go. Wow, you know which brings me back and not

talking about cults in the well, talk about cults? What's the cult?

Sounds could be culticius partakers of the divine nature? Do you mean that I

can be here, there, everywhere like Michelle Yola there? You know,

it's like no, what is the what is the what's the divine nature of

God that I'm called the partaking? Okay, yeah, I talk about someone

was saying that who wanted to what? What? What? What does it

mean to be a what? What? What? What? How do you

define a cult? What is the count? Do they make everybody no,

no, sitting the announced, stand a gay and drink something? Do they

wait for UFO come down? You know it's a great up rival. Okay?

The count? Okay, as I've heard one of the better desflinations that

have heard. Okay, some people will cuts of worship or religion, but

count, most specifically in our Christian context, the things that deviate from this,

from things that deviate from tradition. Okay, when you can substitute the

word tradition with orthodox or I prefer this word from what was established, deviation

from what was established and established, the established foundations. So you must understand

it's a Christian. We have foundations. Doesn't mean that somebody you know,

another religion have the same books that others being there the right one, they're

the same one. We have foundations. We believe that God is three in

one, not three person. Jesus is not lower Holy Spirit is not lower.

They're the same trinity teaching. We believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ

and Jesus Christ alone. You can been saying these are foundational things. We

do not depart from these culd things. Okay, sometimes we may different a

view things like that. We can denomination understand, but you don't depart from

the things that were established and from foundationals everything else. I'm not an expert.

Okay, so no, no apartment. But this is what we typically

talk about. And now you see a lot of times we say that you

participated in account if you join a group. You join this group and then

you know you there are cults that believe that God is There's a no they

God. There's no God, the Father, there's a God, Mother,

God the Mother there is I know people who have joined this group before they

are cults. They believe that God has spoken to me. I am you

know, I am the second coming of Jesus Christ in here already. So

you must sell your possessions and give me money, you know. So people

do that a lot different a lot of cuts that come like that. But

you don't have to join account to have cultish thinking true or not you agree.

You don't have to join a cult to Acoutish thinking. You see,

cults are a lot of times are just starts from the churchman. When you

disagree. More importantly, not just disagree, when you're not fully converted,

when you're still with the world, and not only with the world, your

eyes are darkened than you and ignorance, lack of knowledge. You receive certain

things and you follow. That's very scary and that happens in the church as

well, and nowadays we also have Scottish behavior and thinking that it's pervading even

modern Christianity as well. It's true, but I'm not going to go in

though. That's another study now. So um, there's Scottish thinking that is

are pervading into society. Now, sorry, I let me just arranged myself.

Okay, when we talk about being partaking into divine God's divine nature,

I'm not saying leading you guys into cults. Okay, First of all,

what is the divine nature that Peter is referring to think about it. Peter

says that you know, you have all receive a faith, but more than

that, you would be him given precious promises to follow a path to become

partakers of the divine nature of God means that God has a plan for you,

and that plan is to partake in his divine nature. But what's the

divine nature he wants you to have? What if you have a what is

that one thing, the ultimate in that final thing that our heavenly Father wants

us to partaking eternity? What else nature? No, we're not talking about

nature and not talking about that. Talk about nature? A quality about the

Father? Why is that one quality that he wants you to have? O

gaveness? Okay on us, let me give you a clue. Okay,

God, God could display many things, when Jesus could display many things,

but he chose to display one main thing on the cross. Wasn't it all

things that God wants you to know about him? The most important thing,

the thing that saves us is one It's love agape. And it's not just

why I say you will read later we talk about the difference the seven qualities.

It all leads from virtue, all the way perseverance, you know,

um, brotherly love. Finally laugh. All roads people say lead to rome.

All the roads lead to the divine nature of God. When you see

on the cross not about just God is omnipoter, omniscient, omnipresent. One,

God is not coll has to become the day everywhere or want one thing

that God wants you to know about him and you to inherit to be love

like him, love like him. Yeah, okay, So we are called

to partake of that nature of God, to become love, become, to

become as living as our father will come. Be like that, but to

be like king an image. Okay, to love others, to love the

Lord. That's why the greatest commandment is about. To love the Lord with

all your heart, with all your soulf all your strength, and to love

your neighbors. It's yourself. Okay. Now the next thing. Now we

talked about precious promises. Why the precious promises? How do we progress from

being just called having faith? Okay, you must think the whole time like

a progression, you know. Okay, from level one, level two,

level three to the final level. We got safe, we got called.

So there'll be a bunch of people who are said, we've been safe.

Ready, just leave your own life, ready, happy, contented, Ready,

that's all my Christian life is. But those peters saying, then no,

you just entered into university. You are meant to follow all the way

to graduate, graduate as to become the child of God as he wants you

to be. Okay, But along this path God has given you what of

course they are things you have to learn to grow, but so that you

may grow one to walk into it and follow this past half consistently. It

is given you pressures, promises, But why precious promises? And always?

I think it probably is here A few times when we talk about you know

money, right, you know why it's money? I have I share with

you guys before money, not share money. Love it though you're like,

oh yeah money, share money? What is money at day? Other day?

Paper? But what does it represent? Currency? What is currency value?

What gives this money value? Well? What makes you are able to

buy things? If I buy fifty dollars, can buy me five big max?

Okay? If I don't buy it, my can I eat the same

value with this paper? If I crumble it, you will still have values

in it. You still want it is in it. If I throw it

outside there and go to a toilet a few times, you still want it

is in it. There's your lunch. But if I go to Australia and

I take give this guy fifty ring it in still fifty or SI dollars?

Will the guy accept it? But if I give you US dollars, will

he accepted? You were accepted? Right? You're speaking on you? If

you have you were? Why why different conversion, different value? You know

what this money represents or not? He represents a promise. If you some

of you, if you know big coins, you know what this one I'm

talking about here. But it's actually a very good understanding. This represents a

promise and it used to be called what we call a promisory note have you

heard before that term promisory? No, it's actually what we call a promise.

And areno gee if that's the last time when I watched this, this

documentary about how money started, If I'm not mistaken, I started in Mongolia.

One of the cons started it when they had so much. The empire

was so white, and everybody was trading in different currencies. Right, they

were having problem to administer, but they were powerful, ruthless, and so

they started to print a bunch of paper with the royal seal chopped them to

it, and then they go to people email, I want, I need

this for my army. Okay, but what they need to I give you

a bunch of paper. So literally, so what's this paper? This paper

is a promise from the emperor or the emperor or I don't know how they

care that it's guarantee has this value. You can use this to buy something

else. The guys, are you sure? Yes? If not, you

can meet this word literally threatened everyone to implement this currency. Okay, but

they were able to do it because they were powerful. Okay, but if

you so, that's what's one of the first currencies happened now in British If

you let learn the British India a lot of traits. They used to use

coin, but then how they they realize it's quite inefficient to carry coins around

in ships and stuff like that. You know, look at you. So

they started using promisory notes and trades and stuff like that with our paper.

So it represents a problem. Is when I have fifty dollars, I go

to any guy who takes it, he can have assurance that if he takes

it to the bank anyway, the government will guarantee it. That's why when

you put money in the bank, the bank stands on what the promise of

the government that they will guarantee it makes sense. So that's why when you

go, if you visit US right now or you learn about US, they

have a banking crisis because people are putting banks into middle tier banks and they

realize that their banks are not being gant their moneys are not being guaranteed.

There's a big probles of people start to lose confidence in the banking system.

That's what it means, losing confidence in the banking system, losing confidence in

the bank being guaranteed by the government. So when I take a fifty ring

to Australia, white people people are preferred or US over a molaition is because

they believe the promises of US is better than the promises of Malaysia simple boat.

As that makes sense or not. They look at your credibility, whether

your GTP is growing, whether you whether your money is demand has more demand

or not. It's not you as always eighty percent of the traits in oil

and everything are done in US. You can in right, So the promises

carry a lot of things. Now we flip it over, we've been saved

by God. Do we still operate with the currency of the world or the

currency of the Lord. So does it mean that when you get safer,

suddenly you see you you suddenly open up a new banking account in heaven.

Is it God's bank? Oh? God currency. No, you don't get

any paper, you don't have a new app on your phone. We get

these currencies from where the promises of God. Promises of God are yes and

amen. That's why the promise are not just like that. It must be

a guarantee. Without that guarantee, the banking system the world doesn't operate.

The heavenly realms and our spiritual life work on one guarantee promises of God.

It's a whole entire system that we depend upon. So when you walk and

becoming a Christian, and you're supposed to well all the way there, you

operate on the currency your livelihood. Today I leave, I experience problems,

I have needs I have once I have dependence on God, I depend on

the promises. You don't take out your wallet, you take out the word.

The promises of God makes sense or not so to see things in giving

a bit of illustration. That's why the promises of God are very important.

That's why you need to know the word of God, you are able to

be rich in the word of God. Literally enough. Some people say make

it fly. Might notice make it fly, but really literally rich in the

promises of God, there are yes and aimen, so we need that to

walk in accordance to God's will. Now let's move on, okay. In

verse five, okay, you see a title here. We learn here as

a fruitful growth in the faith. Verse five says, but also for this

very reason, giving all diligions add to your faith, virtue, virtue,

knowledge, knowledge, self control, self control, perseverance, perseverance, godliness

and godliness, godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. Okay,

let's stop this for one okay. So Peter is saying that you've been

called to grow, okay, and you are meant to be fruitful because of

this very reason. Give all diligions. What does it mean to give all

diligions? To give all diligions means that you make every effort. So there

you know they received this faith. They think that this is it, right,

ready. But Peter is saying no, when you arrive here, you

got to start giving your awe. It's a very different thing. You know,

they thought they're on holiday. Really no, this is the beginning where

you've got to start giving your or making every effort. You gotta make every

effort giving all diligence, your mind, your body, your soul, your

emotions, everything. You gotta start sowing and make every effort to what to

add to your faith? Virtue, knowledge, self control, per surverance,

godliness, all these seven values that lead up to a value. He basically

saying that you gotta add to it. Was that, but this is kind

of wrong teaching, is nay? Paul say that we are saved ready?

You know faith is what faith is, what justicifies us. Faith is what

saves us. Why you need to add these things? Ah, this is

where all the so called smart teachers are amount. The churches start to incept

it, no, you gave me right, because they are not trying to

they are. They are trying to twist and turn the teachings of Paul against

Peter's teaching so that they don't have to leave a god their life makes sense

or not. It's very powerful you all. They are doing that to the

apostles. You know, wow, people, these apostles have science and wonders

following them. They walk to places of people right from the dead one and

all, heal the sick, one and all. But they would do that

to the teachings of the apostles. How perverse is that? See how they

tell us? That tells you how great the flesh wants are its own freedom

to do? Why it wants you so just you know, oh our flesh

up. It's sinful, so sinful to even pervert the words of God,

to just gratify ourselves, isn't it? Okay? But he says that,

no, no, no, you gotta add to your faith, virtue,

knowledge and everything else. It's just why because it's just a seed. Okay,

it's just a seed. You gotta all the way. That's why the

title I will say, no for these messages. How do you know that

you are a Christian? Very deep? How do you know you're a Christian?

Have you asked yourself many times before your life whether you're a believer?

Is it? Because is it? Do you do you? Are you a

Christian? Because you said the senist prayer? Oh there's a big theme,

you know, actually among the among the theological right now, the debate is

your Christian? Just because you say something? But you gotta demonstrate not by

fuill by but by the change nature of who you are. We don't just

what the day? You can say whatever you want. Now, this is

what the world does in it. I am a man. Do they identifies

what I mean? Right? Your nature doesn't change like that. But God

saved you. He didn't just say, hey, orange tree produced in Durian

The flesh has been gone and the new spirit is working in you. You

produce orange because you are now an orange tree. Mee right, you are

converted. That's why your salvation is a new creation or not. It's a

supernatural work of God. It's not just me confessing. It's a supernatural world

of God. It's not something tiny and insignificant. Your salvation is supernatural.

So that is why every day if you, if you really are converted,

you will have a healthy dose of the fear of the Lord to guard your

heart, to know certain way that you are a child of God. You

have me right, you would definitely have the one I've passed many times in

my own life, whether I am or not, And because of that I

ought to fear, Oh God. But a healthy those of fear is a

God. Not because I need to do things because I realized I can't do

of it. But why am I demonstrating it's my life? Right? Why

is the Holy Spirit convicting? You know what I mean? Right? These

are the things they got to continue with this work what we call it.

There's a term for right now. It's called sanctification. Have you heard this

word before? A believer is safe, a believer is sanctifi Sanctified means you

are transform. Okay, transform, okay everybody? Okay? So far so

in this transformation? I know there's a seven values here. I can't go

through them too too much, so time. Um. The first one,

it's virtue goodness. You know. Virtue and goodness refers to moral excellence,

knowing what is right and wrong, knowing what God approves. You know,

don't you know what God approves? What is holy? What is pure?

What is righteous? What is healthy? What is nourishing? What is building?

Okay, you will have not just faith. Yeah, I believe in

I believe in God. Now you desire what you you want to despair.

I want to pursue the things that God approves, seeking first the Kingdom of

God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added on to you.

You desire him. I want to. I want to do what's right

before you Lord. Second, you have knowledge, and knowledge is not just

all Bible knowledge. The word Greek word is called epignosis. Epignosis, it's

quite. The term means precise and accurate knowledge. Okay, what does it

mean? By precise accurate knowledge? It means did you finally get it?

I used to teach my children medicine. I sudden even what they come not

one plus one two minus okay, they one can do. But the moment

I teach them, the moment they learn about ratios and persentagious and their mind

hard is perscentagious ratio because it's a concept, you know, the hard.

lot and things and now you don't get it one and now you just do

see things a bit differently, things becoming more beautiful because I get it.

You've got to really learned to bite your tongue, control your tongue, and

my marriage somehow becomes better when I speak less. My wife feels that I

speak a lot more by che I spoke with us than all the women.

Say yes, yeah, my husband finally gets me because I have a long

convertation, but he listens. Oh, yes, he finally gets me.

And we see because when we introduced time into the recipe, we finally get

Yeah, everybody has certain I know. It's they put in the worldly.

Peter says, no, these are not the things that you used to qualify

a man or a person that knows God. What is the quality that the

God is looking for? It's resplayed here in verse eight. For if these

things are yours and abound, you will neither be barren nor unfruitful in the

knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by these things that you display

and you abound means you are fruitful, that comes out of your own nature,

of your convert of your converted nature, and you're abound. All these

people that come from everywhere cannot compare to you. You are the one who

knows God. You know what I'm saying. You know God, and you

are the one that actually arrive at what is love. Sorry I missed out

a few PARTZ earlier about some of the points talk about knowledge, talk about

self control. Self control means able to hold things together. Now someone it

talks about an athlete who is able not to eat something and then you know,

or not to have a certain lifestyle so that they can be at their

peak to perform to the goal that they were actually set on too. Perseverance,

okay, when you have knowledge, when your self control and know you

start to endure. No endurance comes from self self control is in it.

If you cannot have self control in all the things that how you're gonna endure.

Endury is not just like in a self control not eating for an enjoy

a means that to have problems and suffering that you cannot make sense of.

True not you cannot make sense of. I don't know why this is happening

to me. I don't know why people are hurting me. I don't know

why people have more than me. I cannot make sense. I don't know

why God allowed this for me. The disappointments that allow in your life will

cause you to either give up or you endure. You endure and endurance.

You're bringing forward godliness endure. Why is godliness? Then? Goddess talks about

being right with God? But how do you become right with God when you

fear the Lord that job? Do you when you are disappointed with God?

Do you start cursing God, stop doubting God, stop complaining about God?

Not just God and his servants blaming everyone else. But you hold your tongue.

Even I don't understand, I will still fear you can. I mean

right, That's the thing that saves us one and all, not the worldly

knowledge, you know, but the thing they say side is the godly fear.

You know. I don't really understand, but I will bike. I

will remain because you are above I am low. There's what job learns you.

A job. The job he couldn't. He didn't get an answer enough,

where he cried out so many times, why they got replied to him

God? So God told him, Hey, were you there when I created

the heavens and the earth? Were you there when I arranged the suns and

the seas and everything else? What God is basically staying to job is that

when you have this problem in your life, you complain to me, But

yet you have no problem enjoying the heavens and the earth and all these things.

Yet not once you ask me how did I do it? But you

had no problem enjoying it. Now, just because of your suffering, you

question me. So you should question me. If you really want to ask

me, ask me of all the things you have enjoyed instead of all the

things you've suffered. You got to start from the beginning to the very end.

Not neither of the way makes sense or not. It's true. It's

a very true, isn't it. You got to meet me all the way

from the beginning to end. That's why God bring him, brought him all

the way from the very beginning, which you even there. But you were

okay to be born, You were okay to have to become a human being

instead of an end? Did you ever ask God? Why? So?

To have the godliness means to have the fear of God that God is up

and we are here. That brings humility, brotherly kindness. When you start

to know where you are before God, you don't see yourself above everybody else,

isn't it. I'm not better than people. I'm not smarter, I'm

not kinder, I'm not more righteous. I'm only say because of the grace

of God became in right. It makes you understand you I am. I

am here only by grace. And so when someone offends you and everything,

you start to see them what I am just like him without God before.

I'm only here right now because of the grace. There why I can't forgive

because he needs the grace of God as well. Forgive not does to mean

that I'm right he from forgiven me. It just means he's now I am

the same as him, even though what he did was so wrong. So

even you would say, if I am not really helped by God, I'm

just like we all need Jesus give me right. You release that right,

you know, to judge that person, whatever it is. God, God,

God is the one. Okay. You start to love with a family

with not just any love, with a family that with the love, with

the grace of God. And then when you undone all this, you have

the agappey love. I want to say, a form of not like God's

love only God can give, but our form understanding and experiencing the agape love

of God, unconditional love of God, the ultimate love of good will,

benevolence, will full daylight in God and everybody else. That's how, That's

how Jesus went to the cross. He's love for us. And so why

is the final call? As I wrap this up, why is the final

cart? No? I repeat here in verse nine he says there for he

who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness. Everybody else would say

that they know God. Everybody else is its teaching. But these people don't

know. They don't have the fruits, they don't have the works. These

people are short sighted. These people are blind and have forgotten that He was

cleaned from his own sins. Means that you've been saved, but you still

want to go back to your own nature. Hey, doesn't mean that you

have that. I just want to let you know. I'm gonna care to

condemn people, you know, because I am my own experience when I was

safer. Do I have temptations to do bad? Course? I have?

Do I wondering what course I have? But there's a difference now I know,

and they have the conviction of the Holy Spirit. I have to really

ask God, do I really really want that? I can't go back.

You can't have a choice. It's the choice is to it. Always didn't

want Why do you want to go back or not? You want to go

back? If you had diarrheat, you want to go back to your diariya

state. You don't want you, you don't want the foot personal because it's

horrible. God shown you and display and then demonstrated all these things. You

don't go back to that, okay, and verse ten it says, yeah,

there for brethren, be even more diligient. Okay, you say that

you give all diligience to do all these things, to write to to have

all these seven qualities, but the last one be even more diligient to what

to make your call and election sure into a salvation. We are called and

not just that be safe. You know, we are called to make sure

of our election and all you understand what I'm saying. You're called to make

sure that you are really saved. You got to make every effort and all

to really know that you are saved. For if you do these things,

you will never stumble. Means everybody is running, but some people will stumble.

For so an entrance will be supplied to your bundley into the everlasting kingdom

of our Lord Savior and Jesus Christ. What it means that I told you

before I for this thing, you will never stump a four soul. An

entrance will be supplied to you means that not everybody will run and finish that

race and entry to do that door. But if you run well, you

will never stumble. When you enter, you will receive an abundant entrance.

Some people they stumble a few times and they run the wall of fire just

behind them. Some people stumble and then they look bad. Then they make

them make it. So this is today's message. It's a fair warning,

but a fair encouragement to all of us as well. This is what people

rod. I didn't have anything to wait. It is what it is.

By it's an encouragement. How do we know that we are saved? How

do we know that we are called and we're walking in this path that God

has call us to? You know, twenty years down the row, forty

years down the row, fiftyears turn? Or do we still see each other?

Weather in this building or this church doesn't matter? Some of you know

your colleagues from universities. How many of them are still believers from the same

I'm not saying they are no fallen off. I will just say they

have different priorities, different priorities in life, what leads them, what wanted

they focus on. I'm here not because I'm more focused anything. I'm here

want to lead a young working accounts. I want to become a pastor.
