  1. You're listening to a message to go from as church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your dam white stoping. Please don't send me to quote and

  3. quote say niniveh niniveh, all right, say no what NINNI? Okay,

  4. no niniveh? All right, everyone say please don't send me to Okay,

  5. I put that quote unquote. What's your Nineveh? All right? What's your

  6. Nineveh? Okay? Way the world is Nineveh. So we're gonna be looking

  7. at the book of Jonah today and Jonah. Anybody here is like a Jonah.

  8. Do you know what Jonah did? Wow? Jonah ran away opposite direction

  9. from what God was calling him for. So let's look at Jonah chapter one.

  10. And we're going to read now Jonah chapter one. And I'll just read

  11. chapter one. I will read from verse one or the way to verse seventeen.

  12. He said, okay, the Riga's word verse one, and the word

  13. of the Lord came to Jonah, the son of Amitai, saying, arise,

  14. go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it,

  15. for their wickedness has come up before me. That's what God spoke to Jonah

  16. verse three. But Jonah arose to flee to Tashish from the presence of the

  17. Lord. And he went to Joppa and he found a ship going to Tashish.

  18. So he paid the fair. He went down into it to go with

  19. them to Tashish from the presence of the Lord. Verse foll. But the

  20. Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty

  21. tempest. It was wow, terrible storm on the sea, so that the

  22. ship was about to be broken up. Then the mariners were afraid, and

  23. every man right out to their God all right, and through the cargo that

  24. was in the ship into the sea to lighten the load. But Jonah had

  25. gone down into the lowest part. Everybody say low us, oh, come

  26. on loud to low us parts of the sea, and lay down and was

  27. fast asleep. Wow, he was sleeping so peacefully in the storm. I

  28. wonder why all right verse six. So the captain came to him and said

  29. to him, day, what do you mean, you sleeper? Arise,

  30. Call on your God. Perhaps your God will consider so that we may not

  31. perish. And they said to one another, come, let us cast lots

  32. that we may know, that we that we may know for whose cause this

  33. trouble has come upon us. So they cast lots, and the Lord fell

  34. on Jonah jag jag jag all right, and they said to him, please

  35. tell us what did you do? What is this all right? What is

  36. your occupation? All right? Where do you come from? What is your

  37. country? And what people are you? Coolly and calmly, Jonah answers without

  38. a fledge. He says, I am a Hebrew jay, and I feel

  39. the Lord and the God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land.

  40. So the men were exceedingly afraid because they've heard of the news about the

  41. Jewish people from the story of Exodus all those years until now they remember,

  42. and they said, are you why have you done this? For the men

  43. knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord because he told them what

  44. this boya tell the Jarthausa. Then they said to him, what shall we

  45. do to you that the sea may be come for us? For the sea

  46. was growing very tempestuous. And he said to them, picked me up and

  47. throw me into the sea, then you and then the sea will become calm

  48. for you. Just throw me in the sea. Also still very calmer.

  49. He wasn't panicking, all right, So I know that the great tempest is

  50. because of me. Nevertheless, the men wrote hard to return to the land,

  51. but they could not, for the sea continue to grow more tempestuous against

  52. them. Therefore, he cried and out to the Lord and say Therefore,

  53. they cried out to the Lord and said, we pray, O, Lord,

  54. please do not let us perish for this man's life, and do not

  55. charge us with innocent blood. For you, our Lord, have done as

  56. it please you. So they picked up Jonah one, two three, threw

  57. him into the sea, all right, and then the sea seas from it's

  58. raging Verse sixteen. The men feared the Lord exceedingly, and they often a

  59. sacrifice to the Lord, and they took vows. They began to pray.

  60. Okay, Now the Lord had prepared a great fish, by the way,

  61. not a whill, because they always say edem in the fruit they say is

  62. apple, maybe durian, okay, but no, a great fish. Don't

  63. know whether it was a will to swallow Jonah up. And Jonah was in

  64. the belly of the fish for three days and three nights. Amen to the

  65. reigning of God's word. Amen, okay, please don't have me to ninive

  66. Why number one, God's heart was for the people of Nineveh. Who are

  67. these people? Well, Nineveh is a city in the kingdom of Assyrians.

  68. The Assyrians. Maybe today they might be somewhere Iran, Iraq, that area

  69. they were, you know, the enemies of Israel. So God said,

  70. please go and tell Ninive one of these cities, uh, that I am

  71. going to destroy them unless they repent. So go tell them. Then Jonah

  72. forget it, he said, don't send me to Ninive. He refused.

  73. So Jonah refused. What did he do? He he went from where he

  74. was all the way to the west. He went to Spain. Tashi,

  75. she was in Spain, and he went to have some peanut colada and the

  76. okay, he ran away. See he was from Israel. Gath Heifer is

  77. where he came from. Gath Heffer casey, Dad, and God said,

  78. just go over to Nineveh, which is northeast, very near right. Guess

  79. how far he ran dot dot dot dot dot dot on the way to spin

  80. Olah. Okay, so he's I'm gonna have peanut golada. I'm gonna be

  81. at the beach. You know, it's summer times, summer time, and

  82. I'm gonna not do what God told me. To do. And so in

  83. the story, as we read this guy, Jonah decided, no, have

  84. you ever asked why Jonah ran away? Anybody? Have you read it?

  85. Have you considered why? Okay? Why anybody? Why did Jonah run away?

  86. Yeah? Aisha, anyone else? Okay? If you read the whole

  87. book at the end, you will see that Jonah is very angry with God

  88. at the end. All right, So why because Assyria is the enemy of

  89. Israel and they were going to some difficulties. God saw that. You see,

  90. we're talking about omissions. God's heart for the world, for the nations.

  91. Even though Assyria was very evil and very wicked. Yet God wanted them

  92. to know that He is the Lord, and if they would repent, he

  93. would forgive, he would save them. So that's why he sent Jonah.

  94. He said, Jonah, you go and tell them they are very evil and

  95. wicked and wickednesses come up to me. I cannot run ready, but tell

  96. them if they don't repent, I'm gonna destroy them like Sodom and Gomorrah.

  97. Yeah, why did Jonah run away? Because he said, like, why

  98. should I even tell them? These guys will come into our land and kill

  99. us and take us. I will not share with them. They're not worthy.

  100. They're not worthy for us to tell them that God loves them. Ask

  101. us a question, have we felt like that sometimes that maybe a particular nation,

  102. a particular group, an ethical ethnic group or culture is not worthy for

  103. us to go to. They don't deserve to hear the gospel. The church

  104. sometimes can be like that, a bit you know, indifferent. No,

  105. No, they're they're no. They shouldn't even get a chance to know Jesus.

  106. See, no matter how evil we are, God shows us. No

  107. matter how evil that nation was, God wanted them to have a chance to

  108. hear the good news that He wants them. But they need to repent.

  109. And h and Jonah is someone who walked with God. He was a prophet

  110. of God. He served during the time of King Jeroboam the Second in Israel.

  111. You read that in the Book of Kings Second Kings, and he said

  112. I just know God do well. You will read that at the end in

  113. chapter four where he says, I know you, la God, you always

  114. like that one. You love people so much, you will forgive them.

  115. I know you will do that. And then if you forgive them, then

  116. they will come, and and and and and and and charge our land and

  117. take us away. I don't want them to win. I don't want them

  118. to repent. They're not worthy. And that's why he ran away, not

  119. because he was afraid, but because he was. He was just like they

  120. don't deserve to hear the gospel. Church. Sometimes we may have that the

  121. church, the church not not not saying us here particularly, but Church at

  122. large, sometimes believe us we can be indifferent to a particular people group.

  123. Perhaps that people group may have persecuted us, but perhaps certain a culture group.

  124. You know, it's not kind to us. And there we say,

  125. why should they even hear the gospel? Why should God even forgive them?

  126. But is it for us to judge? No, if the Lord tells us

  127. to go, we need to make some moves. Right. So you look

  128. at this boy he ran away and this man he ran away left? How

  129. far You see how near Ninive is. Sometimes we can run away from God,

  130. very very far. Actually the January shot need to nine. But he

  131. said, no way, Jose, I'm going to all myself there in Spain.

  132. So he was out there. He paid the price, even though it

  133. was maybe very expensive to go on the ship. He took the boy or

  134. even took the ship anyway, and then then then the adventure started. So

  135. we look at the next thing that happened. He goes to jo Per so

  136. you see, uh, gaff Heffer is above jo Can you see the map?

  137. Right? Okay? So go to my next light. What does he

  138. do? He goes from he goes down from gath haffer to to the ship.

  139. All right, so I didn't put jo there, but Joa from gath

  140. Haeffer. He went down to Joper. Chopa is A is by the sea,

  141. all right, Joper. He goes down to from gath Haeffer. Then

  142. he goes down to the ship. So he goes gets into the ship.

  143. Not only does he getting the ship, he goes even lower to down someone

  144. down to the lowest part of the ship. And God brings the wind and

  145. tries to show him and he knows that's why he was sleeping so calmly in

  146. the ship because he knows. I know, God, you're trying to get

  147. my attention forget it running away from you, and you will not. I

  148. won't die because I'm in the ship. Nobody's gonna die but the but the

  149. sea is gonna rage. He went down Can you see a journey of going

  150. down, down, down, down down. When you say no to God,

  151. be careful. So he goes down to the lowest part. And then

  152. later he says, just throw me. I'm really the reason, right,

  153. just throw me. Like he still no, Then God ain't gonna let him

  154. go. So I drow him into the sea, and from the into the

  155. sea, God spoke to a big fish, and the fish swallowed him,

  156. and he was preserved in the stomach of on the belly of the fish for

  157. three days and three nights. Down again. Whoa, whoa, Oh man,

  158. this is tough, right when you go down down, when you're trying

  159. to run away from your calling. You see, God is a very merciful

  160. god. You and I are scared. Sometimes we've all rather we feel like

  161. we are not worthy of whatever God's forgiveness because we're so bad or whatever.

  162. But as you see him going down, down, down, and then later

  163. in my next light, and I'm moving on the next light, you see

  164. that in chapter three, I can move on. In chapter two, Jonah

  165. prays in the fish's belly, so you can match it. Jonah, I

  166. can go to the next light. He's inside this belly is smelling like terrible

  167. because I don't know, bad breath or whatever the fish would have eaten the

  168. days here I'm there. And he prayed and he said and basically his prayers

  169. like I praise you, Lord, I thank you. I hope you can

  170. save me. Lord, forgive me. You know, he's praying all his

  171. prayer and then out of the belly of the fish, the Lord. Here's

  172. his prayer. The Lord has mercy on him. And what does the fish

  173. do at your awns? Out? What's his name? Jonah? Out from

  174. the belly at you, and he goes into the dry land. He's there

  175. filled with seaweed, and with the seaweed on his head. He went to

  176. Ninivay and he started telling them, please repent, repent, for the Kingdom

  177. of God is near. And you know he went so you see from up

  178. he goes when he repent and say, Lord, forgive me, Come and

  179. save me. The Lord is mercyfuller out of the three days. So sometimes

  180. three days one day really long enough, and you mention him when you have

  181. a pain in your finger and your tooth, Well, one day you really

  182. want to give up two days, luggy, what's happening? God? You're

  183. not answering my prayer. Third day, what's happening? And after three days

  184. he's out from the belly of the fish. He was he was spelled out,

  185. okay at you and went on to the dry land, and with all

  186. the seaweed on his head, he walked to Nineve. It is all to

  187. say, a picture of God, and I want us to look at how

  188. merciful God is. God was merciful even to Nineve. God wants to reach

  189. every person, every tribe, every group of people, even if we felt

  190. they were not worthy, they were wicked, they were they really don't deserve

  191. it. God wants them. But our friend Jonah, you know what is

  192. his background on He knows God. He is so close to God. He

  193. walked with God. He knows God's hard. That's why he can sleep in

  194. the storm. He can just say it's my problem, Just throw mina,

  195. just throw me. It's okay when I can, don't worry. And they're

  196. all like panicky, No, we cannot, we cannot after we kill you

  197. how and so they had to pray to the Lord and whoever they know about

  198. this God, yahweh, Please don't don't lead on us. It's not out.

  199. Don't put his blood on our on us are just forgive us how we

  200. were throwing him? Now poom. All of this shows us a few things.

  201. Number One, even the wind can obey the Lord right or nord the

  202. loss say wind blow, the wind blow? Then the law said, you

  203. know. Then the Jonah said, gets tromla, and the sailors obey.

  204. And thirdly, even the fish can obey. The fish also can obey.

  205. Open your mouth now and swallow Jonah in friends, These are all things that

  206. maybe you know, God created, and they can obey. But the man's

  207. spirit, my spirit, your spirit, my heart can we obey? I

  208. like to bring a point across a hard word. Sometimes we are the most

  209. difficult to obey. Hi yo, runaway some more. But if all of

  210. this can obey, isn't an amazing that they all can obey? How about

  211. us? Sometimes a small thing also be funny hard to obey, meaning to

  212. even trust God that God knows what he's saying and doing. But thank God,

  213. while all of this obeyed, and that man disobeyed, yet God was

  214. merciful. Amen, can I he? Amen? You better speak because some

  215. people falling asleep ready, so you need to you gotta speak up. My

  216. preaching also good today so falling asleep, not making you laugh. Okay,

  217. God is merciful, all right. He is merciful because he saved Jonah swallowed

  218. up in a belly. Amen. God is merciful to ninivate. And he

  219. said, please go and preach, all right. So when Jonah decided,

  220. okay, laugh, I have no choice, right, it was a no

  221. choice situation, no walking with all the seaweed and grumbling in his side.

  222. I know. And God is very merciful. I know, and I know

  223. one so you see, you know? From there the next light, says

  224. Jonah reluctantly shares with the Ninevites. He actually goes in chapter three, after

  225. God has spewed him out, after the fish spewed him out, he went

  226. to tell the people in Nineveh that they must repent. So he did it.

  227. He did it. He walked, he entered the city, and for

  228. forty days, you know he I mean, he told him he had in

  229. forty days. Chapter Jonah, Chapter three, Verse three, Jonah arose and

  230. went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an

  231. exceedingly great city, a three day journey in extent. Wow, I don't

  232. know, it's bigger in singaporea cause Singapore in a few hours, you can

  233. one round ready, So it was bigger in Singapore in three days journey.

  234. He began to enter the city on the first day's walk. And then he

  235. cried out and said, yet forty days and nineveh shall be overthrown, and

  236. that you read it in chapter three. And he goes on and that the

  237. people heard it, and then they began to repent. Even the king of

  238. nineve went down and put sech cloth and das and sat and not just saying,

  239. and began to repent. He even made the animals repent. They no

  240. feeding the cows, no feeding the sheep, how loud of poor sheep.

  241. No water to drink for one day tree, I don't know. They repented.

  242. They repented, all right. They put on sackcloth, they put ashes,

  243. and they declare. They declared in Jonah chapter three, verse seven,

  244. he proclaimed and published rotten in a way by the degree of the king and

  245. his nobles, saying, let neither man nor bees hurt, nor flock taste

  246. anything. Do not let them eat or drink water, But let men and

  247. bees be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God. Yes, let

  248. everyone turn from his evil way, from the violence that is in his hands.

  249. Who can tell? If God? Who can tell? If God would

  250. turn and relent and turn away from his fierce anger so that we may not

  251. perish. Verse ten. Then God saw their works, that they turned from

  252. their evil way, and God relented from the disaster that he had said he

  253. would bring upon them, and he did not do it. Amen. Wow,

  254. This is a very very evil, evil city, a very evil kingdom.

  255. And yet when they repented, God had mercy. It speaks about the

  256. generous heart of God, the merciful God of heart of God. Wow,

  257. and how he wants every group, people group, every person, not one

  258. person to perish. Amen, we are so thankful, right, if we

  259. are following Christ. He forgave you, He forgave me for my sin,

  260. and he takes me and accept me as his child. And he wanted to

  261. do that for nineway for the time that they repented, the Lord forgave all.

  262. Right. But if you study in history after they well they had a

  263. chance to repent. But later they turned against the Lord anyways. But God

  264. had least given them a chance to hear. More importantly, did they get

  265. to hear the word of God? Did they hear how much God wants them.

  266. They did and so that happened. So I want to encourage us the

  267. story of Jonah, just to remind us let us not run away opposite direction.

  268. When God is speaking to us church, God is not speaking only to

  269. me. Because I really grew up wanting to be a missionary from a young

  270. From as a young person, I was waiting for God to call me to

  271. the mission field. I did go, but I did the lot then divel

  272. you know, just change the plans. I mean, that's what I wanted.

  273. What did God won? I have now discovered I'm here with you,

  274. planting churches more than I would have ever done. Even when we got married

  275. many years ago, our church was going to send us to India, and

  276. because we were ready to go, but the Lord said, no, you

  277. will do something else first. And that's what we've done, was to start

  278. a youth organization. We've reached out to many young people. We've since planted

  279. churches over the last twenty three years, but the ministry it's half twenty eight

  280. years. So it really my heart at heart, I really just wanted to

  281. missions, right, But this is not an option. It's not just for

  282. the one who wants to do it. It's for all of us. Evangelism

  283. is to witness Christ to one another, to our Jerusalem. But friends don't

  284. run away from our nnyvays. Okay, you might have an uncle who's not

  285. nice to you. You might have an auntie who really makes your life miserable.

  286. They too deserve to hear about Jesus. A man is that you know?

  287. The single ladies in the house are your Chinese new Yellow. I don't

  288. want to go back along the same auntie go boyfriend now when you're getting married

  289. now and they tell me, you know, I don't go back. I

  290. really don't go. The auntie's evil. No, all right, but and

  291. they don't not Christ yet, say Jesus, don't she don't deserve it.

  292. Okay, so it doesn't. It doesn't matter. Head of a person is

  293. evil, but God still wants that person as long as that person has not

  294. the name of Jesus and the salvation plan, the redemption plan that He has

  295. for them within our own culture and even beyond them, bringing over Samuel,

  296. Pass of Samuel and Pass of France. Friends, you got to hear what's

  297. going on with their lives? Why do they still do what they do,

  298. especially me and mar You know it's gone to junta. Now it's gone to

  299. the military. Who's the government no longer? You know, our young succhi

  300. or whatever. It's all turned around. I tell you, for the first

  301. during the pandemic. You know, these men who could have died of COVID,

  302. but if it was not for the grace of God, he remained alive.

  303. I tell you, our hearts just didn't know what we could do.

  304. He had no money. They had no money. There was the early days,

  305. who knew how to heal, no way, there's nothing to heal go

  306. villa, you know, there was nothing like I think. There was just

  307. nothing. And he was actually he called and he couldn't breathe. He was

  308. telling us as the please pray for me. I don't know. I don't

  309. know how long I have to live. I can't breathe. And then the

  310. whole family kna COVID because one person came to church at COVID and a whole

  311. church COVID. But their family Gonnard, the Mosla, father, mother,

  312. everybody got it and they'd know what they needed was oxygen. They needed different

  313. and there was no funds. We couldn't send money because all the banks were

  314. closed. But if it again, can you see God's head? He's alive,

  315. he looks very well. Someone got two baby, now a second baby?

  316. All right, you've got God is not alive? Then, how how

  317. can we continue doing church? The pengo just went over there. But four

  318. weeks ago, hallelujah, they are still serving. Passes were being shot left,

  319. right and center. Churches being burnt. In fact, one of our

  320. churches in Shupita, I think was burned down. They need a new building.

  321. He continued. We pray, he continued, we pray. He continued.

  322. Every week, new young people coming to Jesus. Hallelujah. Amen.

  323. Amen, Oh you gotta come and here. I mean, I pray he

  324. would come and share and tell you what they have been to. You know,

  325. so do we? Does he? Then they say I'm not going to

  326. share with the army mility or terrible. No. If God says go and

  327. share with that military, you will have to. He cannot be a Jonah

  328. and run away by bye. They don't deserve it. No, amen,

  329. So friends, it's a good reminder. Are we running away from an innovative?

  330. Okay? God, as you go there, say no, thank you.

  331. Some people saying one song. No, those days, those all an

  332. argument to play. Lord. Please don't send me to Africa. Not to

  333. say there's tigers and lions the Actually it's a big deal now right Safari.

  334. We all want to go, oh for Safari, we want to go Holi

  335. day. But to share the gospel. No, I'm not asking you share

  336. gospel to lion and tigers and giraffe as you share gospel to the people there,

  337. hallelujah. So don't send me to Africa. Why do you think it's

  338. that bad? Oh, it can be. I've been there, Okay,

  339. no electricity. Sit in the dove, I said the dove for very a

  340. long time, waited and wait, no electricity. You what up? I

  341. don't know how to do it. Cannot play games because cannot see each other,

  342. all right? And I don't send me to Africa. Don't send me

  343. to India. You don't send me. You don't what's your n inner way?

  344. If God would call you to go, why you because all of us

  345. want to go to where. Oh, we want to go to Spain,

  346. UK. You know my first in UK. I don't want to come home

  347. ready, you know, oh, my missionaries and you get too good.

  348. First world country when it's third world? Can you please take me home now?

  349. Please? Please? When can I come back? Right? Ah'm a

  350. radam come back. So though, because our call is to reach city,

  351. the urban and a lot of people are coming out of the compounds to come

  352. into the city right now. That's why we're focusing the young people there.

  353. So I don't know, you know, guys, we I just pray that

  354. if you haven't been aware, it's good to be to awaken the awareness.

  355. Again, that is more than just you living in the company in Malaysia.

  356. That's more to life than just my needs. Jonah was being completely a prick.

  357. He just didn't want to have anything to do with that group of people.

  358. Sometimes we are indifferent that girl. People I don't share. This nation

  359. is sixty five percent mainly sixty five percent to seventy percent actually of a differentation

  360. from all of us. But we are Malaysians. Do we then say no,

  361. I'm not going to share, but we cannot share it? Yeah,

  362. I didn't ask you going hello today? You know you're going to hell.

  363. You need Jesus. I don't ask you. Do that? Make friends law,

  364. anyone You've got some nice sixty five percent friends? Don't make them like

  365. someone different color from you, so you don't make friends. I have the

  366. right to say this because I'm mixed blood jan jan jang. I have both

  367. kinds of all kinds of blood. It's not good. But I don't know

  368. where I am. But God is speaking to us. Amen. Genesis chapter

  369. twelve. Genesis chapter twelve, verse one to three. This is the care

  370. of where it all started. God called Abraham Abram out from order of the

  371. Chaldeans, which is actually today Iran. He wrapped that area, called him

  372. out in Genesis chapter twelve and verse one to three. If can we helped,

  373. you can show the verse no, I would turn it. God called

  374. Abraham and said, come out of your country. There was a leaving of

  375. his hometown, and God said, you come out, and I am gonna

  376. do this for you, he says. The Lord said to Abraham, get

  377. out of your country, from your family, from your father's house, to

  378. a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation.

  379. I will bless you, make you a great name. You shall be

  380. a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. I will curse him

  381. who curses you, and in you all the families of the earth shall be

  382. blessed in you now when you think, but that's Abraham, nothing doing me.

  383. I'm ganish. I don't know. Same color Abraham, not never mine.

  384. Okay, I'm swooping. I don't know. Alla, You and I

  385. are children of Abraham. You and I are Abraham. Why because when God

  386. spoke to Abraham, Abraham didn't have a child. He was nineteen nine years

  387. old. The wife, Auntie Sarah, was eighteen nine years old, dried

  388. up already, the eggs not cooking anymore. And so God said, Abraham,

  389. I'm gonna give you descendants. Abraham like the man Allah got song alright,

  390. shooting blanks all the time. I am i yo, howla God.

  391. I'm ninety nine years old, and my wife. Look at her, she's

  392. beautiful as ever. But the eggs are fried. Okay eighty nine menopause.

  393. Okay, Then God says, do you believe? Look out in the sky

  394. Genesis chapter fifteen. Can you count? The stars? Can count long?

  395. One? You're so many? Love God, I can account exactly. That's

  396. gonna be your descendants. I'm gonna change your name from Abram to Abraham,

  397. Jim black love Abraham, Abraham, the father of many nations, and he

  398. was not yet circumcised, meaning he ain't no Jew. But God wanted a

  399. new generation. So before you were circumcised, God already said you're gonna have

  400. descendants. You will have a child from your own body. And he say,

  401. you can use my my home, my air, my air, my

  402. servant, the one born in my house. No, God say no,

  403. from your own body, right. And then Abraham said, okay, Lord,

  404. I believe you because I'm Abraham now right. So he believed him by

  405. faith, and that's why it was like, wow, you believe you trust

  406. me, So I'm going to account to you. That means I am going

  407. to I can't see, I'm going to give to you, and made you

  408. righteous because of your faith. You are righteous. And therefore, because he

  409. was accounted to Abraham accounted like credited to him, reckoned to him as righteousness.

  410. He said, you are the father of many nations. A new nation

  411. began and many others were born later, the descendants, and you and I

  412. are descendants of Abraham, which makes you brother and sisters of the Jewish people.

  413. They were not one deler because they are God's people, right. But

  414. now God allowed us to be part of that because of Abraham. So we

  415. have inherited the righteousness of God through Abraham. Of course we have Jesus.

  416. Now, yeah, but how how can I'm a genta, I'm a non

  417. you. But God says, because of you, and you shall be father

  418. many nations. And then it says, so that promise in verse three in

  419. you, all the families of the earth shall be blessed. So I want

  420. to say to us in the short it says, you are blessed to be

  421. a blessing. You are blessed to be a blessing the earth. The word

  422. earth in the Greek or in the earlier Hebrew. And then the Greek means

  423. f nos which is ethnic, which is many, many types of culture and

  424. people. All right, you are blessed to be a blessing. So read

  425. your Genesis chapter. You have believe us and beloved of the Lord. You

  426. need to go back to the word of God to know where is the call

  427. for missions. Abraham left his country comfortable there and moved into don't even know

  428. where. God said, I will lead you to the Promised land, which

  429. is Canaan land. Not the bookstore, please, okay, in the land,

  430. not the bookstore, not one in PJ theok, not the bookstore,

  431. but the land. It's called Canaan, which is today Israel. That was

  432. a promise many years ago. Today they alas squabbles about the land. I'm

  433. not going there, just saying that was a promise. It was for them.

  434. Amen, as time is flying, you are blessed. We are a

  435. blessing. Please look to your neighbor and say you are blessed to be a

  436. blessing. Tell your neighbor you are blessed to be a blessing. Come on,

  437. yeah, Amen, you are blessed to be a blessing. So every

  438. blessing is for you as a child of God. You are a child of

  439. God, as when you come to Christ, you inherited righteousness from Christ all

  440. the way back to Abraham. You already blessed, can you? I'm seriously,

  441. As children of God, we are very blessed already. We are forgiven,

  442. we have second childs. We know God has given us all things.

  443. We are blessed already. It's a given. So now that you're blessed God's

  444. it, go and be a blessing. What are you and I able to

  445. do to be a blessing? Amen to someone else? Not so much because

  446. we're talking about all our wealth. I'm not rich enough, so I cannot

  447. share. No, it's not about that. You are well, you have

  448. joy, you have eternal life. Can we share the good news that God

  449. loves people and he wants them to know Him, to worship him, to

  450. serve him, and that they would turn from their ways, the ways that

  451. they did not know. So why do we do missions? It's just a

  452. commandment of God. Matthew twenty eight, verse eighteen to twenty says, go

  453. ye into all the world and make disciples of all nations, all right,

  454. and you know, baptize them in the name of Father, Son and Holy

  455. Spirit, and teach them to observe all that I would teach you. That's

  456. Matthew, God's last commandment. Our you can say this with me, God's

  457. last commandment. What's your first priority? It's not making more babies? Okay,

  458. enough, okay, all right, God's last command our first priority.

  459. But he did ass to Multiplilah some of you all very good, super fruitful

  460. am all right? So our God's last combine our first priority. What's our

  461. first priority? Yes, yes, yes, to do all that God has

  462. blessed us. Do that. You are already blessed the next one? What's

  463. that next thing? God says, go and make disciples. Making disciples doesn't

  464. mean you have to transform everybody. You not the transformation agent God is.

  465. You just have to let that. Did you know that? And you begin

  466. to share that who is what God did for me? You begin to share

  467. that testimony to your friend's Amen, hallelujah. So firstly, just a reminder,

  468. friends, is an act of obedience. You know, Jonah could have

  469. been obedient, but he ran away, but later he was a false,

  470. reluctant obedience that he said, Okay, I'll just do it, Banna happy

  471. doing it? Obedience to what the all is and the call is already given.

  472. Nobody here. Okay, but I'm not called to be missionary. No

  473. one's asking you to be a missionary, just asking you to be a child

  474. of God, a messenger. Go and make disciples, God say, already,

  475. Well, lah, there's not in my destiny. No, it's already

  476. given wherever, wherever you are, God has called you to make disciples of

  477. you know, people within your rich and those outside. God has X chapter

  478. one, verse eight. I think you learned that in Holmes X Chapter one,

  479. verse eight. Right, I'll give you power from on high so that

  480. you can be my You can be my all right and be aware witness for

  481. who where to Jerusalem and Judaia Samaria and to the ends of the yearth if

  482. you read the original, it should be both both in Jerusalem, Judea Samaria

  483. and to the ends of the earths. Can do it together. Amen,

  484. obedience. Friends. I think God's don't asking for your obedience. He hasn't

  485. said more, but just ask for our obedience. Amen, number two.

  486. Partner with God. We're in a partnership with the Lord. You are not

  487. alone. We are the whole Church. We are partnering together. That's how

  488. because of our partnering together as ex we're able to plant churches in ten nations,

  489. including Malaysia. Ten nations, hallelujah. And so many cities were in

  490. uh not by might, not by power, but willing hearts. Our own

  491. team has gone out. Others have gone on to plan as well. Hallelujah.

  492. Praise God. People are catching the heart. Students are the ones that

  493. have gone out to plan. Partner with God and let God guide us and

  494. lead us. Amen, you have partnerships in your business. You are trusting

  495. another man who will let you down. Now asking us to partner with God

  496. man. He's not a man, He's a God who will not let you

  497. down. When you make God your business partner, he will not let you

  498. down. You can partner God in your work. You can partner God in

  499. his work which is to reach the loss. Amen. And firtly you get

  500. to see transformation, transformation, Amen, hallelujah, part and parcel of the

  501. whole. You know, calling us to be a blessing is so that other

  502. lives can be transformed. I don't know if you never step out of your

  503. own you know your little circle. You don't step out, you don't see

  504. the miracles, you won't see more. Church. We have all the mission

  505. trips organized already, all the outreach to Ara Asley, with all the community

  506. outreach. We're asking you come partner with God to be a blessing. Some

  507. of you, if you don't know much about the oh A work, joined

  508. the workshop because because someone who works with them. Listen to the stories.

  509. What is the situation of the Ora Asley work in Malaysia? They are the

  510. original people here and yet they are the least provided for. And if they

  511. are if they are a Christian, if they choose to follow Christ or not

  512. yet follow Christs, not yet follow any other faith. They are left out.

  513. The children that we are reaching out the other day where we went to

  514. they cannot go to school because the bus will not pick them up. Maybe

  515. if they change and convert, they might get a bus. So we are

  516. there two or three times a month to teach English, very very simple English.

  517. Chan our brother brother Chan who leads three kamanga and he goes there every

  518. Wednesday to teach mets and English. One person. He's full time with us

  519. now, but one person with so many children because they won't take them to

  520. school. This is why it's so difficult. There's this is this is our

  521. country, is our people. They should be allowed to go to school,

  522. but school is too far and the bus won't come and pick them. So

  523. the churches in Malaysia have been doing their part to help as much as we

  524. can. So if we can just even let our hearts be softened as we

  525. go, as we be part of it, God will speak to us.

  526. How how can we do more? Or where can we go? Amen?

  527. How can transformation happen? Let's look at Jonah and just one position, so

  528. much richness in the Book of Jonah. But I just want to read this.

  529. Look at the comparison Jonah and the sailors of the mariners in that ship.

  530. Look at the comparison. This man Jonah, very cute. Prophet's a

  531. Hebrew who knows of God's faithfulness. He really knows. You'd have to read

  532. it with some imagination. That why he said just throw me, like,

  533. please, don't throw me? Said throw me, I don't care. Because

  534. he knew God is faithful, so he knew the God of faithfulness. The

  535. gentiles who were the sailors were gentiles who didn't know God at all. They

  536. don't know God. Are you all? Who's this? But we heard that

  537. he's a mighty God. We are scared, but we don't know him.

  538. He worshiped one true God. Who did they worship many false gods? Okay,

  539. all kinds of idols. Spiritually he was insensitive and hated in the opposite

  540. direction. He ran away. But what about these guys sailors who worship idols,

  541. worship false gods? They were spiritually sensitive? Why because they prayed like

  542. like, hey, pray Lord to your God. We are praying here to

  543. our God to stop the stop the tempers. How come you sleeping, Wake

  544. up boy, dude. Right later, they also sacrifice and took vows like,

  545. Lord, please forgive us. We're throwing Jonah away. Please forgive us.

  546. I know you're mighty, God, Please forgive us. Don't hold his

  547. blood on our heads. You know they were sensitive spiritually, amen, many

  548. of us. I was not a Christian forever. I was a Buddhist.

  549. But we were made sensitive to God. But I'm worshiping something else every day.

  550. I pipe. No, I think I pipe more than sometimes when we

  551. become Christian because God is so cool and easier, cannot see anything like wake

  552. come on, he on peace God. Wherever you pipe, bye, what

  553. you take? The stiller, you clean, the altarler? Now are the

  554. altars wall? Rightever? You are your heart? When actually, when we

  555. are not Christian, we I was not a Christian forever, we were very

  556. sensitive. Now we become Christiana. God is so cool and easy. I

  557. don't need to dress, uh, don't need to change under way. I

  558. just got on and talk to Jesus in the morning, right right, don't

  559. go children or no mind. He forgives me and praise the Lord. Yes,

  560. they were veritely sensitive. He just insensitive. I don't want to do

  561. what you're telling me. He was indifferent towards God's will despite knowing him.

  562. He knows, he knows that God will forgive. He knows that God wants

  563. the loss to be saved, but he was just indifferent. I just don't

  564. like that people. I don't like it. And they don't speak my language.

  565. A different color, they different size, they're different everything. They don't

  566. eat you know, curry puff like me. Whatever. On the other side,

  567. these were concerned before God in the spite, in spite of little or

  568. no knowledge of him. They didn't know him yet they say a pray load

  569. your God, prayler. After that they're gonna throw him. Also they say

  570. sorry, God, Sorry, there's a certain inc they were being sensitive.

  571. Next point, he was very He showed no compassion to what in any way,

  572. no way. Look at the sailors. They were compassionate to him.

  573. LA don't row, let's roll, let's roll, and until they couldn't row,

  574. all right, they showed great compassion. Can see that again in John

  575. Jonah chapter one. He was rebellious and he needed to be disciplined, though

  576. he was not destroyed. What happened to the sailors they acknowledge God when when

  577. the tempers stopped and they worshiped him the transformation. People just need and encounter

  578. with God and they will worship him. I don't know how long they will

  579. shiping or serving. That's there that they're gonna have to tell God later.

  580. But God wanted to show up right and even in a difficult situation, God

  581. showed up, and these prebelievers saw the power of God. And immediately we're

  582. able to acknowledge that there is a God. And so sometimes the church can

  583. be like that. We can be so indifferent, we could be sleeping,

  584. buried and bothered about our own needs. Within No, there is many many

  585. more tribes that have yet to be rich in this world. There are many

  586. many more tribes. Some of us have grown up with knowledge, some of

  587. us never. So I'm telling you now are there are a few blocks are

  588. unreached. They are called unreached people's group. And I don't have time to

  589. tell that. And this group of people are within the ten forty window.

  590. The ten forty window is called the Sagittarius line, and the when you look

  591. at the map right, there's a divide. So anyone starting from Europe all

  592. the way to eat east to Asia, West Asia, East Asia. All

  593. these are people who don't get that means, including us. But Malaysia is

  594. a rich nation. We can now reach our own and now we can send

  595. out missionaries. And we actually Malaysians make the best missionaries because we can speak

  596. any language. Very good to learn language. Come back from Australia two weeks

  597. a home? What does it? Oh? What? What? What?

  598. Would they always say? No? I know that's not my name? Nine?

  599. All right, well we can say how long you're how long you're living

  600. in Australia. Oh, just you know? Four years? Four years?

  601. Whoo? Malaysians learn language very well. We can pick up Mandrein. We

  602. can pick up Demo. We can, we can. We're better than Singapore.

  603. Wait, we can't. We eat any guy our stomach like rubble upper

  604. you mark a mole, stay inside there and rah one like are you Jerry

  605. Bery? After one time? You you who? They? All the bacteria

  606. is good? Just one time, I tell you, one time you go

  607. to India. You all of us gon now one time at least one time

  608. after that, all very strong, and then I can go back to India

  609. several times. No problem with Jerry Berry already no more really because got the

  610. bacteria there inside. Huh, you just get to eat. We go on

  611. an asley, I'll go one time. You you just mark on the wild

  612. bow one time. Oh you can after that bully. Yeah yeah, So

  613. so many trips I've made. I used to quiet quite right, go on,

  614. it can't pussu eat. Look the qually right, it's now. I

  615. saw the dog lecking from there. Then after they they served me the wild

  616. boar, and I'm it pusserves the best wild bore swallow. Don't even choose

  617. swallow, but you have to, all right, because it's so big,

  618. hatter, and they served me like that. I have do swallow quickly,

  619. and thank you, I tell you. I mean, there's the amazing part

  620. about us going to a different land, a different language, a different group.

  621. It's so scared, you know, it's the scaredest thing for met For

  622. most of us. Toilet toilet is the worst thing. Wow, no toilet.

  623. How I used to be so afraid. You know I've overcome that as

  624. a single young person. My parents are so clean. You cannot know,

  625. like this cannot. Okay, So you'll raise your kids very good, like

  626. anything's okay. Step in the sands, okay, okay, right in the

  627. sand. Ever, I'm like, okay, right, we are grown up,

  628. like, don't touch it. Don't then we grow up, cannot go

  629. missions? Why toilet? But I tell you go what time to Sarawakaki went

  630. inside the lupang? No are you go so dark? Cannot see the slowly

  631. Washler? The next time, bring touch those there's no end phone we touch

  632. like must bring touch light ladella ladla, eat whatever they give you, just

  633. just to change the mment after deta can really anyway, I can just just

  634. find us. You hold a sarund for us, get it. I tell

  635. you. The first thing is the adaptation of the the environment. That's why

  636. we're so scared. We don't dare so the nearest, I Suggestler, before

  637. we go to India together, let's go to orang Us together. Yeah.

  638. Yeah, so we bathe in the stream. Whatever's up there just don't look

  639. like just pay for nila floating items and identified objects. Yeah, so they

  640. say you don't go up there and popa come down here. So those are

  641. things that are culturally different, but that shouldn't stop us from saying, let's

  642. go. It's much better now, already much better now, much better.

  643. Went back then twenty years where we used to go much better. Already it's

  644. just a fear, the indifference for hire. Let someone else do it.

  645. Let the missionary. No. No, I see people sign up that sign

  646. up for Change, My sign up love for becas sign up for Sumatra.

  647. I hope you're sign out. You know, we go right. I don't

  648. know what other doors are going to open for us as you want to go.

  649. You want the first of all, I think I'm going to England with

  650. Mila. Cannot afford the etiquette. Now the etiquette problem go they do what

  651. was then it's like, yeah, go ahead and serve the people. They're

  652. going, yeah, yeah, cook for them. I cook for the students.

  653. That's what I do. I go to cook for the student and I

  654. can't cook, but I have to cook there. My husband was saying,

  655. whoa full stun you cool? Well, you never cook chicking car before any

  656. packet, your packet. When we do so much, God changes your heart.

  657. God changes your heart. I told the church last year, if you

  658. remember this year, who wants to go to Nepal? I'm getting I'm being

  659. invited to go this yell. I don't know if I can because of the

  660. clashing time. But the stories that they tell us about. If you remember

  661. the story I told you that the children at the children's camp Palen and sister

  662. story I went to. The children have no food, so the funds that

  663. we sent was able to feed them. And and when we eat egg like,

  664. we eat egg like nothing to them. They look at the egger so

  665. precious. You'll eat half, keep half for the other younger brother, sister,

  666. do you need one good meal a day? Your funds helped to feed

  667. them. But whatever, we collect it and we are supporting the work.

  668. They're true. Our missionary connection with PASSI balance to especially since sure it's amazing

  669. our hearts would change. It's a lot of money to go, but you

  670. can't buy the experience. You can't buy what God wants to speak to you.

  671. That's why we must allow. I spoke a few weeks ago. Make

  672. room for God, give room to God and let him move in our hearts.

  673. It's not just for another person. It's not somebody else's job. It's

  674. ours together. Maybe we cannot all go together one shot, but we can

  675. pray, we can give, and we can plan to go in time because

  676. we need time. Amen, let's not let's not be a Jonah and run

  677. away there. Let someone else do There's no someone else to do, There's

  678. only us to do it. Amen. And again I'm saying, I'm not

  679. asking us to all hang up. We go and be missionaries. We are

  680. all missionaries. We're all called to have a mission and do the missions right

  681. at our doorstep, Amen, right at our doorstep. Have this week's Holmes

  682. notes. We'll be able to discuss further on this. But yeah, guys,

  683. we just need the obedience. We need to partner we've got and allow

  684. yourself as your partner we've got. You will see transformation. You will see

  685. transformation. It excites us. And and you know how I got got the

  686. heart of this by just going for one trip you know where we're not even

  687. or Aslee, No bentm Bentm Durian placed Bentong where just to go to a

  688. smaller church and have people then and to minister to them. I don't know.

  689. That's who I just caught the heart. They're just to Bento. Before

  690. I went to other places, I tried to go Indonesia. I'm telling you

  691. they departed me. You know, they took my back and sent me home

  692. because pastport job. I check my FastPort. So any years ago, good,

  693. I got deported, a big job, deported to Malu. But you

  694. know I want to be there. God take me, send me back.

  695. Then Indonesia was very difficul very difficult as well. We're challenging, but we

  696. got to just make ourselves available, obedient partner with God, and you will

  697. see the transformation bit by bit, slowly, slowly, little by little.

  698. Amen. And that's why we always say, don't be a Jonah, but

  699. we then go out for Jonah for his examples, so that we are reminded

  700. that we don't have to run the other way. We can go with the

  701. vision that God has called us to. Amen. We hope you've been blessed

  702. by this message. For more information on our church, please visit x church
