The Power Of Meditation | Pr Kenneth Chin

You're listening to a message to go from acts Church. We hope this message

will light up your day. I want to speak to you today about power

meditation, about your thoughts and how it can really really change our lives.

Let's look at some scripture first, Joshua won eighth. This is the word

of the Lord. This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth,

but you shall meditate in it day and night. Wow, keep meditating

on it, that you may observe to do according to all that's written in

it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will

have good success. I love how the Word of God promises us prosperity and

good success. And it doesn't even say that God will give you this.

It says that you will do it yourself. Let's read that again, the

last part. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you

will have good success. So prosperity and success is very much a product of

our own doing, as it is the Lord's blessing. But there are three

conditions or preconditions to the promise. Number one, this book of the Law

shall not depart from your mouth. So ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters,

Please, from today onwards, open your mouth for the right things.

Speak the right things, which is the Word of God, the promises of

God, the truth of God. Because when you speak it, things happen,

mountains are moved. But number two, you shall also meditate in that

same word day and night. Don't miss thinking about God's word. And number

three applying it that you may observe to do according to all that is written

in it. Turn to your neighbor and say all, not some, but

all. Next slide says Psalm nineteen fourteen. Let the words of my mouth

and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord,

my strength and my redeemer. So you realize, if you're honest, as

I often have to be, that, if you're honest, you know,

not everything that comes up out of our mouth is pleasing to God. Not

everything that we're thinking about is acceptable to him. And that's a that's a

that's a problem. We have to take hold of our thoughts, take hold

of our speech. Don't have verbal diary. And sometimes they say, you

know just where you have no control of the things you say. Because God

is watching and God is listening. And our desire is to please the lot

with all that we say and all that we think. And God can hear

not just our words, but our thoughts. And the Bible actually says we

almost given an account even of the things we think about, because God knows

them all. He knows all our thoughts. So the way to have good

success and prosperity is to speak and continue to speak things that please God,

and to think about things that are acceptable to him. Somebody say amen,

The next light says finally, brethren, Philippines four eight. Whatever things are

true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are

pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good. Report,

if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy, what what

meditate on? These things? Now there are a variety of things that you

can look at and meditate on. It speaks about things that are true,

noble, just, pure, lovely, and if anything of virtue. I

call this perspective or angles by which we can think about things that come our

way. Let me show you the next slide and talk for a moment about

the definition of meditation. In the eyes of the world. Meditation is this

usually and most often they want you to clear or empty your mind. But

as far as the Word of God is concerned, we are to fill our

minds. Everybody. Okay, So maybe you know, when you think about

meditation, you think about a person in a lotus position, and maybe you

know the hands are rested by the knees on both sides, maybe the palm

is open. Maybe they're doing a Korean heart and their eyes are close.

Maybe they're dressed in white. And you hear the Master going around saying,

empty your mind. All all that hurts you, all that is painful,

all those painful memories. Empty your thoughts. Now empty your mind. Or

maybe you have to hum something, or maybe you have to sing a song

or whatever it is, you know, and you get a picture of meditation

in a very different way than what the Bible teaches. The Bible actually doesn't

teach us to empty anything, actually especially our minds, but to feel it.

Now, let me give you a gentle, loving warning about what happens

when you empty yourself. In Matthew twelve forty three to forty five, Jesus

teaches us about deliverance and about casting out evil spirits from a person. He

said, when spirit goes out of a man. He goes through dry places

seeking rest and finds none. Then he says, I will return to my

house for which I came. And when he comes, he finds it empty,

swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven

other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there. And

the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it

be also, or so shall it also be with this wicked generation. So

you know, when we enter the realm of casting out demons and cleansing a

person from evil spirits, sometimes in the church we call it deliverance. People

get scared because of this verse. Sometimes they even quote this verse to me

and say, pass a key earth. No, don't play a fool.

Let's not mess around with this deliverance, because it might be that the man

or the woman might end up even worse, because you know, they bring

back seven other spirits worse than the first spirit. What Jesus is trying to

teach, if you can see from the three words he used, he says,

when the spirit comes back to the house that he left or he was

cast out from, he finds the house empty, swept and put in order.

What do you think is wrong with that sentence? It's not the fact

that it's swept, because that's what happens when a person is delivered from an

evil spirit. You know, all the place is clean because it was unclean

before that, there was an unclean spirit. But now it's clean. What

do you think about put in order? Nothing wrong with that, because that's

what it should be done in the life of a believer, in the life

of a Christian, when the evil spirit gets cast out, you know he

or she is clean. This person now and her life put in order.

Before that, it was a mess. Before that, it was disorderly.

So the problem with the sentence is that, and Jesus used the first word

empty, and that's what shouldn't have been that. When the evil spirit gets

cast out of a person, that person should have been filled first with the

Holy spirit. So how can you come back to a person who has been

delivered from an evil spirit and find him empty? Are you asked it with

me? So the problem is not swept, The problem is not putt in

order. The problem is empty. And I want you to realize that Jesus

even used that as the first word. He didn't say swept, put in

order and empty. He didn't say putting orders, swept and empty. He

used the first This is the problem, he highlighted the problem. And the

problem is that we empty ourselves when we shouldn't. Okay, praise God.

So meditation really is about filling ourselves up with God, with his word,

with his wisdom, with his ways. The next light says, meditation is

looking at life through God's eyes, God's word. That's right, amen,

It's all about perspective. My wife and I we were ready to celebrate our

anniversary. Every year, we celebrate on the ninth of September, our anniversary,

and I usually do the planning. And my wife, you know,

would expect her husband to do something special, and I do. I counted

a real joy to do it, and I try to surprise her and then

she acts surprise and we play along and we have a good time. Usually

I try to take her out away for a night or two. We go

somewhere, either staycation in care or take her out for a nice dinner,

whatever that I can afford. It's never been mama, but it's been good

so far, by the grace of God. So about eight months ago,

when we were asked by a person called Enoch, you know Enoch and his

wife Common at that time wasn't a wife yet. Enoch said, Pastor,

I know that your anniversary falls on the ninth of September, but I am

planning to be married on the ninth of September. I would really like you

to officiate my wedding, you know. And a person with the name Enoch,

you cannot say no because you know he has so much favor in God's

ice, you know, walk with God and was no more. And then

he was found again in Malaysia, you know, in a and you know

it's a really thirty nine and for years he waited for his uh, you

know, perfect partner, and she's come in the form of Common. And

I said to uh, you know, I said, you know, I'll

think about it, okay, because you know, I've never I really do

try to honor my anniversary. Uh. Being in ministry together, you know,

we're busy always and all the time, and so we've got to guard

our what is important to us, you know, our birthdays, our special

days. And but as we'll pring about it, we felt the peace to

support, you know, and so it's all about perspective. La. Yesterday,

when we were at dinner for the wedding, we look at each other.

I said, there, enjoy this dinner. Is it's a really nice

dinner in a nice place. It could be free, and maybe we're not

surprised, but you know, for the people at the same table, we

welcome them. I said, welcome to our our aniveracy dinner. So glad

you can enjoy. You know. There were prawns, really good, really

good meal. There was dessert. There was a gift of chocolate. Uh,

you know, and she looked at me, I looked at her.

And it's all about perspective, right, said that we can still turn something

like that into a celebration. Life really is about perspective, how we see

things. And I want to encourage all of us to look at life in

treaty because life can be very flat. And sometimes Christians, if you're not

careful, you can actually go to church and you know, participate in a

very flat service. You come back to your same seat and when you're asked

to turn to your Bible to read the scripture, you read it very flatly.

There is no life in it. And that's why a lot of Christians

go around saying is boring. Actually, Chrissette is not boring. Maybe you

are boring. Oh oh, sorry to say that. I'm so sorry.

Not really. Yeah, yeah, Jesus is never boring. Christianity is never

boring. I tell you why. You can read the same scripture for twenty

years and because you work it out in perspectives. Every time you read the

same scripture, it speaks to you differently. But if you don't look at

life in treaty, it will be the same. And that's why he said,

oh, go to church boring. You know who's the preacher? You

know that guy boring rite this came. I've been to cams before, I've

been to all the conferences before. But you need to understand that because God

is in it, you can always have a fresh perspective to everything. But

because you know, we read the Bible flatley, we worship flatly. You

know you asked, you asked to sing. You know, so of us

can't move our hands. We don't clap right. We only have a flat

worship. And the only time you lift up your hands is to yrn or

to scratch your head, or you lift up your hands to stretch. Because

you're so tired. You can be very flat. Our giving can be flat,

our serving can be flat. Excuse me, so I'm would to encourage

you from today onwards. Be treaty, wave tiland he see how flat this

is? Okay, okay, some treaty coming out now? Okay, okay,

don't be flat. Okay, okay, okay, Life coming, life

coming now, life coming, a life coming. Yeah, nobody wants to

go to a flat service, no one. No one wants to have a

flat life. You can't even drive when you have a flat you know,

so nobody wants that. So be tre d and have a perspective. Don't

just look at your Bible this way, look at it this way, this

way, this way, the many perspectives. Let's look at the next verse

and for about one minute, I want to show you the scripture that all

of you know John three sixteen. But let's read the word of God.

This is a beautiful word. I wonder better you have seen it from a

different perspective. For God's soul love the world that he gave is only Begad

the Son, and whoever believes me to him should not perish but have everlasting

life. Okay. Can you imagine if you take away the words soul,

the whole scripture is different. For good and love the world that he gave,

there will be no depth to this verse. And when you read it,

you go you gotta read it like this, for God's soul, love

the world that he gave. And then when you read the Bible uh in

a perspective way, you you will read it and go like this for Good's

love the world that he gave. Doesn't mean that when you love, you

give so love. If you really love somebody or something, you will always

find yourself giving. Somebody say, amen, you cannot love without giving.

Now you can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving. So

God so love you and me that he gave, but not only that he

give. He gave his only begondon Son means he gave his best. So

when you read a scripture like that in perspective, if you go like wow,

it's not just forgot so all of the word he gave his only Begonda

Son is for God so loved me. I can't imagine so so much that

he gave. Can you imagine it? If it was just for God's soul

love the world full stop? No, No, there's giving involved in love.

I see, I see that means if I love somebody enough, I

also must give, not just give, but give your best. This is

how you should see things in life. This is how you should read every

scripture. And that's why I say again that you can look at the same

scripture and receive so much more if you meditate on it. That's what the

Bible means when he says meditate. Let's now look at a photo. It's

very easy to be negative. All of us are actually very negative people.

We see something, usually it's bad news come first. Usually is wrong interpretation.

It's negative that you would see a lioness in this picture eating up her

own cub. The hat is gone, and it's one of the most coolest

things you can ever see in your life. Sometimes you come to church,

you see pastor say something and it reminds you of another passer and you go

immediately, you go like, ah, you see you know, or you

see a leader at the front taking up an offering. I see this charged

all about money again. You know how fast we go into these kind of

things. Now, on one side of the view, it is the most

cruelest thing you'll ever see. And now let's look at another photo, just

changing the perspective, and you see the kindest thing that the liners that have

done for her cup is to carry her cup away to safety. And now

the coolest thing in one perspective has become the kindest thing in another perspective.

Same picture, different view, and the next slide will say that everything depends

on the way you see. I had a pastor friend who said to me,

I was so angry with God for making me miss my flight until later

on I found out that the flight I was going to take didn't arrive,

So she was angry. She had to wait for a few more hours,

six seven, eight more hours for the next flight, angry, angry,

angry. Where on the next flight it's still angry. And then later on

found out there was trouble with the other plate, but it had taken off,

and of course finally he did arrive, but he went through a whole

inconvenient route. I also do me, how many have you ever been through

life like that? That just because you've taken one view or the same thing

that's happened, you know, you've become so angry, so upset, so

frustrated, so disappointed, only to find out that God actually reserved and preserved

the better thing for you. I also do me. It's very important to

understand. Now. I pray that every Christian here will have a positive view

of everything, a positive view of everything. Why because the Cross is always

positive. Yeah, when you have the Cross, what else you need?

You know? Right? Hard Bonk came to Malaysia. I was there at

the stadium and with his German accent, he says, before Jesus, Oh,

this is the worst German accent I can give you. Before Jesus,

we were all negative. We saw life negatively. Our marriages were in trouble.

There was negative, and our finances were in trouble. Negative. And

he says, then God said an answer from heaven and there was a straight

line from Heaven across the negative of our lives and it cut through that negative

and made a positive. And he says, if you have Jesus, you

will always have a plus and a positive in your life. I love that.

In fact, we planted Extra twenty three years ago. That was our

tech line. Our tech line was the EXTRAS logo always positive. I felt

Christians should be like that. I know. Can you imagine if you are

always positive? You enter your office, you're the most positive. Why because

you see things differently, that's all. That's all. You just you choose.

The boss is the same boss, but you go around a little bit

and he's, oh, actually quite a good looking this side, you know,

because you've always been seeing this site. Yeah right. Sometimes you know

what helps me? Sometimes like when the cars write they overtake me and the

motorcycle, you know, they go crazy and then they you know, sometimes

even as a passer, I do hope that they will meet accident. No,

no, you all, I have never thought about that before. Never,

None of you have ever thought seriously, I all of you are holy.

This is my confession, this is my story, this is my soul.

I said, okay, never mind. And as they're going, I'm

still watching that you just overtook a servant of the Lord, and uh,

you know, and then you know, a thought this comes. They don't

have Jesus. If they die, they go to hell. No no,

no, no, no, no, don't diet. Don't die yet,

because then you your perspective is that they are human beings that Jesus died for.

And you go like, no, don't die first, don't die first,

until you you know because a soul, you know, a soul in

hell for eternity, and me being angry because they overtook me like that,

like Superman on the bike. It is no big deal because you see things

from eternal perspective with eternal eyes. It helps you know it, does it

really are? And then a stresses go down. The blood pressure or the

blue pressure went down earlier before that one hundred and seventy over ninety five,

and after that you just come down, Come down, seriously. You know,

there's there's always one perspective you can have from Malaysia, right, Malaysia,

terrible La Malaysia, this LA, that quota system. You know,

if I go on, you'll get angrier. You're like, oh, you're

getting angrier because some of you have been recipients of that treatment, right.

And then sometimes oh God help me. I'm a Christian, He's supposed to

be always positive, right, So I've always got to have this view.

That's why we're still here. Do you know what that many years ago I

was offered to be a youth pastor in Melbourne. Yeah, and you know,

my wife and Aya felt like we should be overseas far away from Malaysia.

You know why, because a big shot, we feel, is a

small shot away from home. Now we get celebrated. Oh you came here

from overseas. Yeah, you came up. So we felt like we should

know and we were offered. You know, do you know how when I

started the ministry I had zero salary And when I went to melbourna the pastor

said, Kenneth, I'll give you one thousand, six hundred dollars. You

know how long that was ago? Twenty five years ago? Thousand six hundred.

Who doesn't win? Do you know that's better than nothing Aussie dollars mine?

Yeah? Yeah. Brought me to see the house somewhere, said this

pasta really can tempt us a good day. Get you, get you behind

me. The house very nice, Melbourne house is very nice. Then show

us a car or pass. You know what you can buy very good Cassie

for cheap everywhere you go, cheap, cheap, cheap. And then I

came back. I was so excited because who's going to offer you to be

youth pastor in Melbourne? Help you with order the letters, visa, all

that permit. So I came back. I was so excited. I was

so excited, not everybody gets a job overseas. I don't know who,

and somore I was called to young people. I came back. I went

on my knees. I said, Lord, thank you, thank you for

favoring me and giving me this job. Hallelujah, praise your God. And

I heard his voice say, who said you're going? Who said you're going?

So we didn't go to And every year we have to remind ourselves why

we see it here? And now of course, when I see your faces,

I say, halley ah, praise God. I'm so glad I'm here.

Why you'll celebrate my birthday four times a day? You know? September?

I can't lose weight right now because I really got a kick at camp

you cam. I went to see another cake, came back here. What

else homes? Homes got kick song god cake. Then somebody gave me a

birthday, Give adviced birthday, Give moon cake? September? How you tell

me? Okay? But we see positively, We see everything positively. Yeah,

as a Christian, you are supposed to be positive. Otherwise what hope

does your friend have? What hope does your colleague have? I don't know.

Everybody's really being so negative. It takes a Christian to be positive.

Amen, you go to exam. You know, I remember last time I

was studying law and uh. I remember you know I I I wasn't ready

because somebody said to me, uh, Monday's exam. I'm still studying on

Sunday like we usually do. Uh and uh and they said, uh,

past, Kenneth, do you know that three chapters, these three chapters are

about to come out in the exam. I read all the chapters except the

tree y so I panic. Now, of course these is I tell students

that the secret of it is this. So I said, oh God,

there's only like I was really I think it was midnight past midnight. Exam

was eight o'clock, nine o'clock in the morning. I said, God,

help me. God, I'm dead. You know I'm dead. The famous

words on our mouth when this thing happened say should I one? Should die?

One? Ah? When I when I repeated this in New Zealand,

it was this fine, should I one? So you know what, not

encourage me, he says, Kenneth, don't worry, just study. You

know I told me, God told me we spent to my ear. Don't

worry, just study. But God, I only got so few hours.

You know what, go to me, Kenneth. Miracles happened in one hour,

I said, really, read the word of God in that very hour.

He was you in that very hour. He was you in that very

hour. He was you in that very hour. He was you in very

hour. Here was you in one hour. Many things had happened. But

you know why we don't study because we rated all our hours worry. He

said, hello, say should should I wan? Should? I wan?

No? It's it one hour miracle. So I studied a one hour passway

past praise the Lord perspective. It's how you see it. One hour miracles

had happened. Right. If you don't see that way, I give you

ten days to go right. Ten days or so, No enough, But

you got to see the way God sees it. Can everybody here be positive?

From tod onwards? Be positive? Be positive? You know I snore?

No, I confessed to you. Are I snow? And twenty eight

years of marriage? My wife says, you know, uh, Kenneth,

Uh, you know. I I've learned to, you know, just sleep

because of this orchestra. So I haven't joined amy yet because I had my

own orchestra. Yeah, and now the perspective is that, you know,

my wife misses me when I'm not around. She's just laughing. It's not

true. Be positive, it's okay, don't worry about it. Let's look

at a let's look at a few courts. The most powerful quotes in our

lives are perspective courts. Do you agree when you look at a quote,

the reason why you get really awakened or you know, encouraged or even blessed

by it is because it changes the way you think. The most powerful courts

in this world are like that. It's not just one of those two on

one of those Mickey Mouse courts. You know, it's a quote that you

really and go like, oh, I never saw it that way. I

never saw it that way. I came across a courte recently that said this,

don't worry about the people God has removed from your life because he heard

compositions you didn't. I thought to myself, Wow, you know, sometimes

we blame ourselves for people that no longer in our lives. Sometimes we wonder

whether this happened, that happened, and sometimes God allows it to happen because

he actually was able to hear conversations going on that you didn't hear, or

he saw a character you didn't see you. Sometimes people can show you one

character and the front of you and then another character at the bank, so

you couldn't see my God saw it. And God also makes choices for you

that you didn't have the guts to make yourself. So sometimes he does that.

So when you look at a court like this is go on, oh

wow, that's true. So Lord, I surrendered to you. It's going

to be okay. You know all you know all things. I trust you,

and I'll carry on with my life and I'll call to you to do

what I need to do. But also he tells you don't have conversations with

other people about other people. You know, I try to say. He

also tells you that you know, if you have a composition to have a

positive composition, don't always talk bad about other people. It's not so good.

This is this is a Christian way. I love this other quote.

Jim Elliott said this many many years ago. And people who are in the

age group of my wife and I in our fifties, we we actually were

very influenced by Jim Ellett when he wrote his book and uh he he the

wife. The wife wrote the book because he died. He died on the

mission field. He went on the plane with his friends and they wanted to

reach a Sudden village people a Sudden tribe and uh they were hit hunters and

so they uh they flew over the village and they threw tracks, and the

Orca people receive these tracks, tried to read it, didn't understand it very

well. But finally jim Ellett and the friends got down to the ground and

they were prepared to actually reach out to the orcas and tell them the love

of Jesus. Long story short is that the orcust came out and spared them

to death, and jim Ellett was one of those spirit to death. But

he already said before he went to the mission field, he is no fool

who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. Perspective.

Mother Teresa said this, I was not called to be successful. I was

called to be faithful. And this was a woman that when she passed away,

I went to visit her center in Calkata, and it's beautiful. Some

people think that just because Mother Teresa is Catholic, she's not the same as

what we believe. But I tell you what, when I read all her

letters, well know all her letters, but her letters that were featured on

the wall. I read it. And when Mother Teresa writes her letters,

she writes it to Jesus, not to Mother Marrier. No, she says,

Dear Jesus, I love you so much. When I see the poor,

I see you and I can't help. You know, thinks like this,

I can't help but to reach out to them, because every time I

reach out to the poor, I'm reaching out to you. So she talks

on that she dear Jesus, you know, and she's so personal with her

God that I believe that she is in a good place. I believe that

she's serving the Lord, or she served Jesus. But I also found out

that although she started as an Albanian young girl in India, I started alone

to reach out to all these poor people. You know, she started one

thing started, another thing started the orphanage. I went to her orphanage as

well in Kakata, and there were probably about three hundred children in one orphanage.

And then you have to go to another orphanage and another orphanage and you'll

find other children there she will pick up. You know, I learned from

months to Resear's book that the nuns eat five chapaties in the morning for break,

yes, honey, in one meximum two. But you know why,

because they do the work that I don't do. They actually had to pick

up a dadweight of a man who soiled the bed, the hospital bed,

and they had to pick him up. Two three nuns pick him up,

clean the whole thing up in a minute and cleaned him up. And maybe

he will die in two days time. But they show so much love.

They say, before a person dies, show them Jesus loves them, so

they can taste at least God's love before they die. This is Mother Teresa,

Okay. And by the time I left that room, I saw the

latest stats of this is. This is not even later as I was there,

probably fifteen years ago or more. And I'm reading her that now from

one lady, Mother Teresa has become four hundred and fifty thousand nuns. Four

hundred and fifty thousand nuns, not the new movie. Don there. Then

one way I was driving on a federal highway. You done coming on it?

And U he's why it's real lines are and and and and and and

four fifty thousand that time who decided to follow after her? Okay, would

you call that she's successful? And hundreds of uh monasteries, and hundreds of

orphanages and hundreds everywhere in the world. One lady four foot night four foot

nine, okay, where she's shacking Lady Dinah's head, that she's like and

laid Dinah. It's like and lead. You know, Lady Dianah died the

curt sedo. You only do that to royalty, but in lay Diana's eyes,

she is royalty. She's like a woman who changed the world. Said

this, I was not called to be successful. Doesn't matter whether I'm successful,

I was caught to be I pray that all of your bless This is

our perspective see life differently, and your life will be stress inspirations say this.

If everyone wants to get, no one gives. If everyone wants to

give, everyone gets, it's beautiful to have a church like this where people

are coming to church. If you know what's in it for me, it

what's easy for me. What's easy for me? Because when everybody just want

to get, get, no one actually wants to give. But if everybody

comes like no, I want to give, then everybody will sure get.

If a nation is like that in Malaysia is like that, where everybody wants

to give, then everybody will get. But when we live a life that

we are only in this to get, you know we're gonna fail. Amen,

Praise the Lord. I love this one. The last one is from

Joseph and it's found in Genesis fifty one twenty and it's a summary. When

Joseph's father died. The brothers were afraid that Joseph will now turn on them,

and they begged Joseph for mercy, and Joseph said, am I in

the place of God, then I should do this to you? He says,

no, No, what you meant for evil God men for good.

I pray that all of us in this room will have that con perspective.

You know, when I was born, I was born to a mom that

didn't even know she was pregnant until like late by the seventh mon and she

and my dad separated, and she's Silapourian. She's half Bata from Indonesia,

half Silaporian, and she married my dad. They were very young. I

think my mom was eighteen seventeen. My dad was nineteen, very young,

and I think it's one of those, you know, accidents. And I

had a brother who was born and died after six days. His name is

Michael. And then my sister Lynette was born and she was two years old.

My mother took Nick Uh, took Uh, took Lynette, took Lynette

UH and went back to Singapore and didn't know that I was inside because my

father gave her a gift before he left, and so she was growing fatter

and fatter in Sta Paul. She just wondering what's happening, and then later

found out she's pregnant with me. And so father came back UH and from

But you know what bothered me for a few years is how can a

mom let go the daughter and the son? Because they usually tell me that

moms are the last to let go of their children. So you know what,

try I say, you have this sense of like what? But thank

God, I wasn't that badly affected because I was only one year old when

my mom gave me up. Okay, you can use I use the word

give up, but some people can use the word rejected. I think it's

the perspective because when I finished my law degree and God called me to enter

ministry. He called me to young people who are hurting, and I realized,

if you choose to see, you choose, you choose to see.

Whatever you've been through your past is actually for your future. But if you

don't deal with your past in a perspective that is correct, that's of God,

then you might not have a future. And then my sister, of

course you know the story to her life when she was about to turn twenty

one. So although I was able to see a perspective that was of God.

My sister had a different perspective. She knew my mom, so at

two three years old, she already knows the mother's love tasted the really.

So now she has a step mother, and she couldn't get along with the

step mother. I could because I never had a mother. Are used to

with me. The Lord actually sped me from a lot of things. But

my sister now she sees her dad loving the new wife and sharing the love

that she felt should be for her because daughter and father very close, and

she's like and so she she had enough and she went out and found her

own boyfriend. And my father was angry with that, and actually my father

should have done it, but he hit her one day with a stick,

trying to wake her up. And my sister was already twenty years old.

You don't hit twenty year olds with sticks, and you don't even hit anyone

with sticks, you know, to say bam. And there was a big,

long blue black across her tie. I remember that, and she,

uh, two weeks later, took her life because her boyfriend left father,

you know, showed her this kind of anger, and her brother was too

young to understand. And I lost my sister, my best friend, and

I remember crying buckets at the sight of her baby University hospital. Because you

know, when you grow up with our parents, the siblings become very close.

And me and my sister were so close that, you know, sometimes

they thought we were boyfriend and girlfriend. And then now I lost her.

When I lost her, I lost half my life, half my dreams.

I think I shared this with you before, but there's some new people here,

so I'll share it with you again. She was studying to be a

lawyer. I was studying to be a lawyer. So the easy name of

our law firm was k L Lawyers, Kenneth and Linnette Lawyers. Now it's

just Kay and El has gone. And it was there and then I looked

up to the ceiling and said, God, please never allow me to see

another young person die like this. And God hurt me. And it was

only after I finished my law degree that he reminded me, and he said,

Kenneth, I heard your prayer that day when you were at your bedside,

four years later that God confronted me and God says, no, I remember

that prayer, and I want to tell you that through the years, God

has been using my pain to heal other people's pain. God has been using

my brokenness to heal other people's brokenness. God has been using my rejection to

understand how young people also can feel rejected. Are you also with me?

My future was actually very dependent on my past. A lot of people don't

see that. They can't see that. They only see the situation that they

had to go through, and they want to God and blame people, blame

their parents. I could also until today, I could also blame my mom,

But no, why do you want to do that for when actually God

used that situation to define me, to give me a ministry. Everybody,

Okay, what you meant for evil? What you meant for evil? I

pray that all of you can say that is what you allow in your mind

is the perspective that you will take. One is the most cruelest picture,

and one is the most kindest picture. And sometimes in the cruel moments of

life, God is there showing his kindness. I want to draw towards the

clothes now and talk to you for a few minutes about the power of thought

patterns and how our thought patterns can either lead us to bondage or to break

throughth a thought patterns like this that when something happens in your life, it

doesn't have to be a lot, it doesn't have to be the whole picture

painted for you. But once you see that something happened, the record starts

to play and you find yourself not able to break out or maybe financial problems,

maybe marriage problems, maybe health problems, because the very uh click of

that button will start the movie playing in your mind and in some in some

instances, is a very sad Korean movie that's going on in your mind.

The difference between a person that never needs to come back out again.

Is the mind or the person that keeps coming back because haven't changed. I'm

still thinking about my mother in law like this. I told her sorry about

money in law and in eight am I love my money in law very much.

told me to love her. And when my father in law and mother in

law came to stay with us eighteen years ago, I built them an extra

granny flat they call it at the back, so they have their own TV

area or that. And I love them. I love them so much,

and I felt God's pleasure. Though. Oh Kayneth, you love your parents

in law so much. You honor your parents good. The Bible says you

So they're having a time of their life. But in eighteen years are we

to affect me, you know, affect my prayer time, affect my sleep.

your life? Some funny thing I tell you? Ah, okay, So

my wife didn't tell because she thought it was a small thing. She said,

I said, no, no, I didn't tell. I said,

say, it's very important to me. She says, okay, okay,

sorry, I was very busy this last week. I will tell. So

my tear coming down my face, and I said, Lord, forgive me.

I shouldn't be so upset. You know, I'm allowing it to influence

my morning. You know, some of you same thing though. It could

be your boss and you're allowing that particular person or your colleague. You're allowing

that person to cause you misery every morning because of the meditation of our heart.

Yeah, we're meditating on that same stuff. We're meditating on that same

mother in law. We're meditating on the same you know child, the same

problem, the same you know we're God is saying, meditate in a way

that pleases me, the way that honors me. In the way that's acceptable

to me. Let the meditation of your heart. Let the words of your

mouth and the meditation of your heart be acceptable to me. Meditate on things

that bring you life, things that are pure, things that are just,

things that are virtue, things that will help you live a victorious life.

Meditate think about because the Bible says for us, he thinks in his heart,

so is he. Transformation happens by the renewal of the mind. And

this is my last scripture to you. Do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove

what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Do you know,

people, we want to be transformed. All of us want to be

transformed, and the only way to be transform is to renew our minds.
