Walk by Faith and Not by Sight | Pr Alvin Keng

You're listening to a message to go from as church. We hope this message

will light up your day. The title of the message is worked by faith

and not by sight. Okay uh? And how we should be living for

Christ that's the sub subtext. Okay uh and uh. You know I now

just just to give you a tough process that this word I want to release

to your We got to be comfortable with the Holy Spirit. You know.

I think sometimes we are not comfortable. You know how speaking tongues are you

know, and then we are either like, oh, you know, this

is something alien to me. You know, we have to account of feeling

and and and you know, um, I think it's believers we need to

be comfortable with certain things we've gotten now. You know, so the Holy

Spirit is definitely one person, and we're gonna I'm gonna talk a little bit

about him today. Um that we as believers need to be comfortable with it.

Not just our pastor you're comfortable enough because you past it, right,

No, all of us need to be comfortable with the Holy Spirit. We

need to understand who He is in our lives. We need to understand this

significance of like speaking in tongues, and being engaged with God's spirit. Now.

I hope that today's message will give us that revelation and clarity, because

at the end of the day, the Holy Spirit is the one that will

lead you. Amen, not miya. I'm not special. I don't have

about your body, this earthly house. It's a tent, okay. For

in this we've grown earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation, which is

is that, um, we have this innate desire to go to heaven.

Have you all had this feeling that this life is worth more than just what

you're doing right now, that there's something bigger in your life that needs to

happen. And a lot of men or a lot of well men, men

and women are we have this pursuit of something greater. This innate desire that

we have is actually this desire to be reunited with God. Right, this

innate desire, that's why there's this. People cannot sit still and they need

to improve, They need to go further. That's the innate desire. We

grown earnestly, designed to be clothed with our habitation, which is from heaven.

We've grown to go to heaven. If indeed, having been clothed,

we shall not be found naked. Everybody said, thank God for we who

are in this tenth grown in this tent being burdened, not because we want

to be unclothed, but further close that mortality may be swallowed up our life

or super poetic man. I hope you guys understand that. Right. If

Where is it coming from? God is the one? And what did he

give us? He gave us his spirit as a guarantee. Who is his

spirit? The Holy Spirit? He gave us this spirit as a guarantee.

Don't worry. I'll talk about it more so. We are confident knowing that

while we are at home in the body, which is absent from the Lord,

for we walk by faith and not by side. We are confident.

be present with the Lord. What does that mean? It means that fellow

I feel like Christians and I don't feel like Christian. You know, I

People don't recognize you as being a believer or not? Sorry? I

to be comfortable with the Holy Spirit. We've got to be confident with our

faith. Confidence is powerful, and God gave us his spirit as a guarantee.

So this Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit, God's Spirit,

his presence is very important to us. Are we comfortable with him?

Are we confident that we have Him in our lives? Or are we unsure

right that there's something that's right. We're cleared as here. Okay, So

what can we learn from what we learn just now? Number one, we

are conrly in temporary housing. Okay, what do you mean? What do

think about it. It's temporary. It really is temporary. Life is freeing.

No, I'm thinking myself, well, I'm forty this year, I

we've got to realize that it is temporary. A lot of things. We

fight about, a lot of things, we talk about a lot of things.

Trust about is temporary? Why we spend so much time doing all these

things when it's temporary. Do we have that realization or not? It is

temporary and we're living in a tent. I give you this perspective, this

revelation I got recently, and it's quite powerful. I don't know why I

can explain it, just how I couldn't have time in PJA explain it.

He is your guarantee, not the pastor of the church. The pastor just

cannot guarantee anything for you. Right, we can't guarantee or this person comes

to my church. But who is your guarantee on this earth, this temporary

earth. The Holy Spirit. That is our guarantee. So who is the

now? Is it because we have created? Or is it because that man

XPJ. For me, what is sacred in PJ is our worship. I

just share with you. We are experiencing God moving in our service. Only

can be done because we treat it as sacred. Because it's not about the

songs. It's not about what I address, it's not about how I was

We're gonna work in the spirit, walk in the spirit at you know,

John fifteen twenty five says, But when the helper comes, whom I

shall send to you from the Father. This is what Jesus said, the

spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify of me

and you also will bear witness because you have been with me from the beginning.

John fourteen sixteen says, and I will pray the Father and he will

give you another helper that he may abide with you forever. The Spirit of

truth, Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth,

whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him.

But you know him, for he dwells with you and is with you.

of Christ, those that have received Jesus as your personal, lot and savior,

And let's not be dec because the world won't understand. It's as simple as

that. The world won't understand. They have not received him, so they

won't understand. So don't be a surprised when they don't get it when you

say things like oh no, I pray and God let me hear, they

won't understand. When would they understand when they receive, when it's revealed to

them, when the skills in their eyes dropped, then they will start seeing.

But let us not be like the world. Let us not be like

God, I messed up. I will do a uturh or do we

reject I addison? Probably some other voice. Now the Holy Spirit will lead

us when we will believe us? Are we listening? Are we listening?

So help her? Okay, let's do some word study. I don't know

advocate, comforter. I've heard many testimonies about how Christians pray in situations that

Next time, when we stand in the judgment city of christa who's going be

pleading for us? Holy Spirit? Why? Because he was there with us

Gospel of Truth and give them divine strength needed to enable them to undergo trials

and persecutions on behalf of the Divine Kingdom. Two thoughts here. One thought,

who is the one that leads you to go deeper in the Word of

God and give you your own revelation as you live your life? The Holy

Spirit? Second thought, I hope this is more an encouragement for you,

any of you here going through trials and religions, suffering through something difficult.

Right, Maybe you're in a situation where you don't like it, you don't

like being in He will give you divine strength needed to enable you to undergo

trials and persecutions on behalf of the kingdom. Do I walk through the value

of the shadow of death? I will fear no evil, Your rod and

your staff will comfort me. All these words are not just words to encourage

Now there's truth because God's peace will come and we are envelope and who brings

it Holy Spirit? So are we engaging the Holy Spirit? Are we engaging

the Holy Spirit? I've heard people share this testimony to me or so about

like, oh, you know, why do you choose this job? Because

I feel peace? They're led by the spirit through the peace they provide.

But it doesn't make sense. This job pay less logically, don't make sense.

All go peace war? How follow spirit or follow what I want?

He's a choice. The reality is a choice. It is a choice.

He gives us power to be witnesses. So it's our helper, our intercessor,

our counselor. He gives us power to be witnesses X one eight.

At the end of the day, what I draw from this is that

now is not our power nor that will do all this. It is not

past the irving anointed. I am nothing. I'm just a witness to what

God is doing in my life and in the life of others. I'm just

his witness telling you that when we pray for the sake, God will heal

them. Not me. I am just a witness being there to lay hands

and pray because I follow the word of God. But God is the one

that heals. God is the one that saves. God is the one that

convicts. The Holy Spirit is the one that most in your life. You'll

be quite scary to I pass the ewing mom in your life. I think

it's even feeling all the time a martyr, those who after his example have

proven the strength and newness of their faith in Christ. But undergoing a violent

death. I pray none of you will have to go through that. Jesus

come back soon first. But that is the weight of being a witness of

God. Amen. He gives us hope and peace. That's what the Holy

Spirit does. Romans fifteenth thirteen says, now made the God of Hope feel

you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by

the power of the Holy Spirit. Let me read it again. I don't

know what you guys call that. Now made the God of Hope feel you

with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the

power of the Holy Spirit. If you understand, well, that's now.

When I was reading this descripture in Bja, they were all claiming it.

Man, are you in a place where you have no hope? Do you

feel like you're no peace in your life? Do you know who can give

you that peace? God? He is the God of hope. It is

not the positiveness of the message or the happiness of the people around you.

No, the God of Hope supernaturally will feel you here with all joy and

peace in believing that you may abound in home. You're not abounding. Home

means when you're in a place or hopelessness. Hope comes by the power of

the Holy Spirit. I've experienced this last year and I'm shard where I'm not

shared specifically, but for some of you who have been around since last year,

you know that I had a situation in my mom and all hope was

lost. How I think I couldn't get out of it. No big Datto

or big person can come and save. Even the Prime Ministeria couldn't could help

me at the time. Do we really honest? If I read at about

it? How MJO I write to him? Nothing? But do you know

what happen? There was once where I was praying and God gave me joy

and hope and peace in a situation that was hopeless. I found hope again

and I came to a place where I said, God, you can I'll

You've got to ask the Holy Spirit to communal. He can give it to

you. You know, you might not need it now or where you need

it. Please remember the scripture and claim it for yourself. Amen, we

received the Holy Spirit when we received Christ. Okay John twenty. So Jesus

said to them again, peace to you. As the Father has sent me,

I also send you. And when he has said this, he breathed

on them. Or quite interesting, Jesus breathe on them and say to them,

receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they

are forgiven them. If you retain the sins of any, they are retained

Guys, the Holy Spirit is ready in you, whether they can speak,

but we're praying the spirit right. And I also believe that that's powerful.

But it might be something that people don't understand. It's fine, right,

is not just true the gift of tongues that you have the Holy Spirit today,

the moment you receive Christ Holy Spirit is therety, that's time when we

pray their prayer. We are praying and asking God to feel you with the

Holy Spirit. Because the one that will help you walk in your walking faith,

the one that will teach you how to pray, the one that will

will will you guide you to do the right things, the one that will

nuts your heart. And some of you are being nuts right now in your

heart. It's not Passelvina. I got no power. One, I got

no power. I say the last I check, I couldn't show any spider

web right. But it is the Holy Spirit that is nudging your heart.

It is the Holy Spirit. They're saying, Hey, what you're doing is

not right. Hey, why do you make something that's secret not secret anymore?

Hey, why do you want to live like that because God wants to

give us abundant life. God wants to give us victorious life. But sometimes

we want what we want, but we want what we want and we get

into destruction. You can blame Godna. If you go do whatever you want

and then they thought on you find yourself in trouble, you can blame Godna.

Guys, I know a lot of people who do that. You will

know in the Holy Spirit what you are guiding you, and you will know

what He's leading you, which spirit is within you. But rest assured the

Holy Spirit gives you. He can give you hope and peace. We received

share more testimonies that there's not only share one, okay, because I want

to bring it homeline so that you understand why I'm talking about this. Okay.

So let's go back to Second Corangers, chapter five, okay, um

Amen. First, as Christ has died for us, therefore we have

died to our old lives. Friends, you are a new creation. Your

past shall not hold you anymore. If anyone is in Christ, he is

a new creation. All things have passed away. Behold, all things have

become new. Amen. God brought us back to himself, True Christ,

and he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. And God has given us

this task of reconciling people to Him. There is a task that we have

because True Christ, we are reconciled back to God and It's given this task

to us to reconcile people back to Him. So we are Christ ambassadors.

God is making his appeal true us. That's the significance of our old friends.

It's not just the job of the full time worker. Every single person

here. God is communicating through us, right through us, and we the

believers speak for Christ. When we plead to people, come back to God,

come back to God, come back to God. Put away your ways

of destruction and come back to God. Put your ways of sadness and come

back to God. Only him you can receive peace. Only him. You

can receive joy. Only him, you can receive purpose. Put that away.

We plead on his behalf as his ambassadors. For God made Christ,

who never sin, to be the offering of our sin, so that we

could be made right with God through Christ. Therefore, friends, now I

started by saying, what by faith, not by sight, how we should

be living for Christ? Amen? We should be led by the spirit of

God. So my encouragement for you today, Hey, engage show his firit,

Engage him, talk to him, ask him before you do anything,

ask him, you know, engage him, because then he will lead you.

It's not your strength, it's not your context. It's not your ability

or your gifting. He will lead you to implore people to reconcile with God

when you engage Him as you have experienced God ourselves. And I pray that

everyone here has done that. You've experienced God yourself, and He's a reconciliation

and saving grace. I want to encourage you to walk by faith and not

by sight. Amen, share I'll share you a personal testimony. So when

I was younger, I met this girl and I thought like, hey,

you know, pretty pretty okay person. Maybe I should, you know,

consider like marrying her. Lah okay, And one to another we got together

and I remember very clearly and then friends, I don't know money, let

me work. I don't have rich uncle, I didn't have any savings.

I just had this confidence that I need to marry this girl in one month's

time. And I remember sitting in Pasta Kenna when he asked me so how

But I threw her off and I said maybe five years later, any

hour, consider you know, and it broke her heart. By anyway,

there's another story. So so but I told past I said, yeah,

in one month's time, I'm gonna marry this girl and proposed to her.

And if you talk to me. When I was younger, maybe you guys

had nothing. I was very confident, no well by faith my wife,

I got no salary, you know, and you know, God has

blessed teams, so I'm like, if you can work for him. It

money. But I said, Lord, I serve you, I trust in

you. I have this confidence that this is going to happen. I new

to provide, So pray, pray, provide, engaging the Holy Spirit,

pray and provide. Pray, pray, pray. So I happened. I

went and look at the ring first. No money. I look at ring

first, see how much it costs. I found something that costs as much.

I like, okay, then pray, okay, let's see if I

give get the ring one man. Do I have a plan? No,

pray a lot and trust God. So you know what happened. One week

later, Asani had a client call me, Hey, Elvin, we want

you to do this video project. Then I'm like, okay, great,

you know you know and uh and they said, this is how much is

the budget someone should costs And basically the cost was the same price with the

ring that I saw. So I rushed like mad person for two weeks.

And then I took the check and see our CLIENTSA they don't pay very faster.

No, sixty days, ninety days, right within the week. I'm

done in the project. Few days, siater, they give me a check

day. Yeah, I'm like, okay, see our confidencer still working in

confidencer well more confident now now like okay, got provia and then of course

some of us who will be more ki he why don't you buy a cheaper

ring, you know, save some money for the wedding cost. Guys,

I've still got no money here. I still got no money here. I

took all the money there was men for the ring and paid for the ring.

the wedding. And my mom, God bless her soul, my late mom.

K. Based on the discussion me and my then fianceing, our wife,

the wedding, had a really good time, totally forgot about all the bills.

And then at night when Normala, you know, my best man,

he counted the money. Uh, and then of course you're braining line then

pass us all like you know, don't worry, you know, I mean

only past all Nola, you know, we gotta provide them, like,

okay, it's fine, let's let's trust him. Um. And then I

remember we were resting after the wedding. After the wedding is down, we

were resting in the in the hotel. My friend caught my my bestment communiyes

and the worry was can cover? No, can cover? No? He's

like, all can cover and I'm like, oh, thank God, can

cover? There was my goal cover. I'm fine, the excess door.

We will figure it out. And he said, oh, but got access

I don't think about it, you know, So he slapped. Woke up

the next day, I got shot of my life. There was an addition

to twenty three thousand ring getting my account. And I'm like, I was

Lord, you really provided, you really really provide it. And you want

to know God talking to me? This is my testimonia. Okay, do

you know how God proved to me that he can't you providing Two weeks after

my wedding. I'm still getting unk powered every other day. Who does that?

It blows my mind that that can happen to me. Two weeks later,

my mom came this uncle that I can't now this uncle. I'm like,

who gets after the wedding? No one? Who am I to receive

such of God's favor of my life? Friends? By faith and not by

side? I give you one one one one more testimony walk by faith,

not by side? What does it mean engaging in the Holy Spirit daily?

You know? Um, so this is before marriage, Okay, before wedding.

It's a testimony of my family. So I remember I shared God is

in the process of reconciliation. So um, long story shot, Basically,

I grew up in a family that is a Christian family. But unfortunately,

because I don't really know much, situations at home not that great law.

So my relationship with my dad, my mom or my dad's okay, my

mom, my brother's all bad law. When I got together my wife,

it was bad lad. It was like you know, and then you started

dating and you started thinking about like future the next time you have to you

know, be the in laws. And I had the revelation suddenly because last

time, I would say church is a point in front of escape to be

really honest, okay, because that's where I find peace. At home was

a place where I don't want to be at. So I'm not at home

most at the time, not not close to them. Bad, bad relationship

and uh and this revelation like, oh no, I'm marrying this girl and

I'm like, how can I do this to her? You know, I

won't say execut a mess too much to share, but it was messila And

I'm like, God, you have to do something. There's my simple prayer.

God, you got to do something. I don't know how, I

don't know what. You go do something? And God restopped my family.

Let me tell you what happened. I'll try and keep to the main points.

So I was driving home one day from from college, basically shifting back

to Klang. You know, I stayed up after I graduated. When I

when I was I basically studied in m Mu, so I stayed there for

four years. He was peace or peace, no family, you know,

and I have to go back. So I remember driving back and then I

had this weird voice that says, Elvin, pray for your family, and

I'm like, huh, pray for my family, okay, la. So

I started praying my family right. I never had that inclination or desire to

do any you know, I totally forgot about me asking God to fix my

family already before my wife family. This is my life. We're gonna live

it. We're just gonna work it out. We're gonna see how So I

stayed back in Klang in two years. God restored my relationship with my mom,

my youngest brother, my second brother. I'll try and give you a

little bit more details. So, um, that time in X, I

was in teens ministry, so teams close to my heart because I started my

ministry X with teens and I take care of all these boys. No.

And you know in chest right, when we relate in hard readyship, we

go out one especially teams are fetched them law, do everything law. My

brother, my youngest brother, is eleven years younger than me, and he

was the same issue as one of these teams at that time. I was

twenty pluss, he was like, you know, thirteen, and and it

just dawn upon me one day that a why I giving my blood, sweat

tears praying for all these young guys that are not related to me. And

my younger brother is just downstairs in my house and not doing anything for him.

I don't know what that revelation came. And then you're not You're not

okay. I'm just going to treat him as one of my other guys.

So I take care of him, right, uh, you know, bring

him to After that, he stayed in my room and just different things are

spend my him in all. And after that he came to X. He

came to X teams and I knew, like Lord, all he needed to

do. Again. I'm not saying awesome, but I'm not. I'm not

one thing. But I'm just telling you that I've experienced so much here that

I believe that if my family and my brothers come, they will also receive

what God is doing in our church. Right, So he came, he

was revived and all. And then my second brother and brothers don't go to

the same cheschnun you know, I don't know, I don't know, especially

with a bad relationship, you want to I go different chess um. So

that happened and then I had a second brother. He has been away from

chess for about one two years. During that time that season, it's very

difficult to talk to him because every time I talked to him and we will

be shouting match. That was our history. Unfortunately, so I cannot imagine

him. But I knew that if he somehow came to X, he will

Um before that. What happened was my mom. I said so because I

stayed back in Klang and I work in Subang that time started working Aya.

My mom needed to live. So every morning I'll fetch her and because we're

my brother and father of okay, So on that Sunday, it was the

last Sunday of two thousand nine day in the second floor. So my whole

family came. Of course she didn't know that what was happening. My whole

family came to the service. And my brother, no choice, had to

come, the one that long, no choice, he had to come.

He came. So did the whole thing. Oh no, propose everything.

I remember clearly it passes sena preach that day she preached a word. And

after that, as usual, we come out with the salvation prayer. Who

wants to receive Christ? Or we dedicate? Now only one hand came out

that day, your spread brother. It's amazing how God can lead you.

You know, I was just living my life. I knew I was important.

I was just following in what God is leading us to do, you

know. But litt day, I know that God did that. Of course

you ain't that. I didn't think much about it. Lad. When I

got married my wife, um, and when when we had a dinner one

day, a lot of things have happened. Had dinner, God reminded me

of that prayer that said, Lord, please help me fix my family.

And I realized, while Lord, you restored so much, so much things

that in a decade nothing happened. All I can say is that if we

learned to walk by faith and not by sight, the Holy spirit of guither

say, man, I don't know what you're going through. I don't want

any of you are going through songs. We also don't know what we're going

through. But I think the one confidence that I can share of few.

I read the scripture, so it says here in ex Chapter three. Now

Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer the

ninth hour, and a certain man lame from his mother's homb was carried whom

they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called beautiful talk

about irony to ask for alms from those who entered the temple, who,

seeing Peter and John about it, go into the temple and ask for arms,

and fixing his eyes on them with John, Peter said, look at

us, you know, and then he looked at them gave them his attention,

expecting them to receive, to receive something from them. But Peter said

these famous words. He said, silver and gold I do not have,

But what I do have, I give to you in the name of Jesus

Christ of Nazareth. Rise up and walk. And they took him by the

right hand and lift them in up. And immediately his feet and ankle bowls

received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walk and entered the

temple with them, walking, leaping and praising God. And all the people

saw him walking and praising God. Then they knew that it was he who

sat begging for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple. And they were

filled with wonder and amazement. And what had happened to him. As I

shared with you the story of my family and how God provided my reading,

some of us you might have remembered how God has moved in your life.

For some of you you might see it all in wonder, like wow,

or such thing. I repeat the words of Peter. Silver and gold I

don't have, but this I have I give to you. And I employ

you friends, walk by faith and not by side. Rely on the Holy

Spirit. Engage Him daily. Do that and you will really experience a victorious

life. You will really experience a life full of abundance. It's not going

to be easy. There will still be trust and tribulations. Okay, let's

know that. But though I walk through the value of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil because you're wrought in your start. They comfort

me. It is a promise of God that whatever you go, trust believers,

God will be there, So don't forsake him. Don't look at you

know, walking by signer is looking at all the circumstances and seeing that everything's

wrong and step focusing on that. Walking by favor is looking at the word

of God and saying, Yep, the circumstance is not great. My promise

you know, whatever thing is not great, But God, you are in

control and you can do one that's in my life because you have all the

authority and power to do that. That is the difference. Friends, that's
