Heaven Rules When We Obey | Dr Jill Ling

You're listening to a message to go from X Church. We hope this message

will light up your team today. Um right, we can put yeah this

word up. So this is not even my message title, but it's a

starter, right. Um. So just a bit of a background. I

will be turning forty this year in October. Um. I know for those

of you who have crossed at forty monk is like no big deal already,

right, Catherine's like eighty is my next mountain? Yeah, yeah hah.

But for me, I haven't crossed the fourty monk yet, so it's still

quite a big thing. You have to hit the big four old this year.

And I remember at the start of the years asking God, you know,

God, how do I prepare for my fourtieth birthday? Um? Yeah?

And and so God led me to this tree letter word w h O

and someone joking behind World Health Organization just because I'm a doctor. No it's

not that, it's far from that. But so he led me to who.

And so he began to unpack and to reveal to me what he meant

by that. So he was saying, Jill, you know, as you

cross the forty of mark, I don't want you to focus so much on

what you will be in that sense, you know, in terms of your

formal achievements or title. I do want you to focus so much on what

you will even have in your hands. But I want you to focus on

who you will grow to be when you hit eighty and when you come home

to see me. So God is really most interested in who we grow to

become and not just what we have officially or in our hands. And and

this came one hour ago when I was sitting in Mamma village. Yes,

actually saw this. I had prepared a different message right which I'm still going

to share the second half of the message that I prepared. But this is

fresh from the Lord. And you know, God is so good. He

never recycles any message. Yeah, he always gives us fresh break because we

are a unique group of people. Okay, and so yeah, So he

reminded me of this conversation that I had with him sometime in January or February.

Who now, So I asked God, Okay, God, I get

it. As I prepare for my fortieth birthday, you're asking me not to

focus on the what, but the who. And so I asked him,

who do you want me to become, grow to become as I cross over

into the better second half of my life. Yeah, the world will say

the first forty years are your best years, but I like to say in

God, the next forty years are our better years. Amen. Amen,

Right, And so he began to unpack with me what who stands for?

Definitely not World health organization? Okay, And yeah, I mean you'll be

quite surprised. It's actually very simple words, but it really makes up.

Yeah, who he wants me to be in the next forty years. And

more so w stands for worship or worshiper. And as I cross over past

a forty years mark, God wants me to come back to a heart of

worship and to be His worshiper and not just his servant. You know many

times in church, right become on Sunday and we are all busy serving,

but we need to remind ourselves that we are first His worshiper, even before

we are His servant. Right, Jesus said, you know that, you

know it is God that our worship and serve, So worship comes first before

being a servant. And I know when we want we get closer to seeing

God, we want to achieve more things. We want to make our live

count more because time is getting shot, you know. So it's very natural

to be a servant to do a lot, to achieve a lot before we

go back and see the Lord wild. It rhymes up, yeah. But

God doesn't just want us to be marthas, you know, just doing a

lot and achieving a lot for him, that's a time and space or that.

But he wants us to be marries, to be worshipers first before we

are his servants. So there's something that he spoke to me, and I

spoke in cyber on how Heaven rolls when we worship him, all right,

and then the next h is humility, humility, and so God was reminding

me that he again, it's not about achieving greatness, but it's about being

humble. And God will exalt the humble, but it's about Yellah. The

days a hit may be greater, but God wants me to continue to be

anchored in Him to be humble. And so I joked it. So I

also appreciated on humility, how Heaven rules when we are humble. And let

me ask you a quick trivia. What do you think was Moses's favorite drink.

Was it coffee or tea? H was Moses' fairite drink? Okay?

The rest cite? Is it charm? Cannot sit on the fans, brother,

you have to choose, Okay. So Moses's favorite drink is actually tea

because he was the world's humblest man. The Bible says that he had a

lot of humility, humility, get it, okay, Philip? Is it

already? Yes? For those of you who have known me from eon ago,

I'm still the same jail a man. I just even it's okay.

Yeah, anyway, So yeah, So I spoke about humility as well being

one of the keys to unlocking the Kingdom of Heaven in our lives, and

last week I spoke about OH. And this is what I'll be speaking about

today as well. I feel it's the word in season for us a regardless

which church plan we are at. And so OH stands for obedience, obedience,

and that's what we're going to talk about today, and we're going to

spend time praying at the end as well on obedience. Yeah. So who

God wants me and I believe he also wants us to throughout life, even

as we grow on to always be a worshiper first before a doer. To

always be humble no matter how God promotes us in life, To always be

obedient, no matter how difficult life gets. And so I'm going to carry

this with me into the second better half of my life and hold me uncountable.

Guys, when you see me, all right, when I'm forty one,

fifty one, sixty one, eighty one, ninety one, I will

cross the eighteenth of Mink as well, hallelujah. My husband and I we

both actually want to live to at least ninety. Yeah. So the last

last year when we spend our anniversary, we were just talking and we are

saying, hey, you know what would how long would we want to live

too? So both of us we were saying, chikili la, it'll be

nice to live to at least ninety together. But if one of us is

not around, then we will say Lord, please take us home as well.

It'll be too lonely here. Yeah. So we want to live to

at least ninety, but we say, hey, we want to get to

ninety. Er must be fitler, fit in body, soul, in spirit.

So we had to change some things about our lifestyle so that you know

we're healthier to live to ninety plus plus plus. Okay, all right,

So I prayed that in the second half of my life, God help me

to grow in worship, to growing humility, to growing obedience. And this

is what I've been preaching about. So you can show the next picture,

Edison. So I shared with Cyber that really this tree are some of the

keys to unlocking the rule of Kingdom in the Kingdom of Heaven in our lives.

And this year our church name is Heaven Rules right, and yes,

Heaven rules here regardless what we do or what we don't do. But Heaven

can rule in a greater way in our personal lives if we are able to

know what certain keys are and use this key to unlock the rule of the

Kingdom of Heaven more in our lives. Yeah. So worship is a key

to unlocking Heaven in our lives. Humility is a key. So drink more

tea less coffee. M Sorry, I'm a tea drinker. Yeah, and

all the tea drinkers yes, say okay, yeah. And obedience obedience is

a key to also unlocking Heaven rules in our lives. And there are other

keys as well which you will here from other speakers, right, but this

is just to give you a background on what I've been talking about the past

couple of months. And so today we're going to zoom in to obedience.

And before we do that, um, yeah, just go back to the

Who again. And I just want to let you know that, really,

um, I believe God wants us to again, um, focus in on

who we are to become. Because today's worship, I remember net Net was

leading and he sang I think the second song and there was who you say

I am, yeah, and even doctor Daniel as well, you know,

mentioned who as well in his you know, a prayer encouragement and I did

ask God, God, if you want me to talk about this today,

then show me through the service and so at different parts the world, who

just jumped out at me? And I know that this is something that he

wants us to talk about. And also obedience. So remember doctor Daniel said,

Lazarus he died right and then Martha you know, had to roll away

the stone first obedience to see the breakthrough or the miracle. So I believe

talking about who we are to become and also zooming in on obedience is really

the word for today. As the Lord has revealed even throughout the service before

I've come up. Okay, all right, so we're going to zoom into

obedience, and I'm going to look at John chapter nine, verse one to

seven. Okay, So if you're your bibles, encourage you to turn to

it, whether you know your actual Bible or your e copy. If not,

you can look at the screen I'm reading from Neil King James version.

Now, Okay, here it goes, John chapter nine. Verse one.

Now, as Jesus us by he saw a man who was blind from birth,

and his disciples asked him, saying, rareby who sinned this man or

his parents that he was born blind? Verse three. Jesus answered, neither

this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be

revealed in him. Verse four. I must work the works of him who

sent me while it is day. The night is coming when no one can

work. Verse five. As long as I'm in the world, I am

the light of the world. Verse six. When he had said these things,

he spat on the ground and made clay with the sliver, and he

anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. Verse seven. And

he said to him gone washed in a pool of siloam, which is translated

scent. So he went and washed and came back seeing. Okay, so

this would be the main scripture that we're going to focus on today. All

right, Now, let's let's go back up to verse one again. John

Chapter nine, Verse one, so it says, now, as Jesus passed

by, he saw a man who was blind from birth, all right,

And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned this man or

his parents that he was born blind? And verse three, Jesus says,

neither this man or his parents sinn, but that the works of God should

be revealed in him. Right. So, you know, maybe some of

us are going through difficult times in our lives, and it's very subjective.

Yeah, what we go through, maybe another person may not go through,

it may not understand, but it's real to us. Like it's difficult,

it's painful, right, and sometimes we find very hard, you know,

to wonder what is the cause, what is the reason for our current challenges

and difficulties, Because the world teaches us that if we can find the reason

for our suffering, we can make meaning of it, and it helps us

to go treat better. Right if you if you kind of like understand why

something is happening, then it helps you to maybe feel better and go treat

better. But then God may not always want us to know the why.

So I think I'm speaking to some some people here. Maybe you've been going

through a tough time in your life, or you've gone through a tough time

in your life, and you you have a lot of questions, and you've

been spending a lot of time trying to find the answer to your question.

Why, God, Why am I going through this? Why is my family

going through this? Why has it been so long? Why? Why?

Why? And I want to let you know that sometimes God will show you

the why, but there will be times that you may never know the why.

And I want to tell you that it's okay. It's okay to not

know the why all the time. Knowing the why all the time is a

very fleshly thing. Actually, if we go back to the Garden of Eden

in Genesis chapter three, it was having the power hour of knowledge that caused

Eve and Adam to eat the forbidden fruit and to disobey God and to sin.

It's that you know that that that that curiosity to want to know everything.

That led to the fall of men, and so one thing to know

everything all the time is not a God thing. Actually, I want to

tell you, it's a human thing to want to know everything all the time,

and that's how human finds strength to live. To know everything, then

you have that sense of you know, security or closure, and then you're

able to live on. But I want to say today that it's okay not

to have all the answers to your wife, you know of your challenges,

but to trust God that he knows what he's doing. Like what net letters

to sing the last song, I will trust you Lord, you know.

Um. Okay, this is not really in my mess as I'm talking about

it. I'm so reminded of this. So what do you see this shape

look like in my head? See? Yes, um, yeah, it

looks like a seah. Okay, all right now, it looks like a

ce. You're right. But it's also the Hebrew alphabet Beth, which is

the second Hebrew alphabet, Beth. Everybody say Beth. Yeah, it's like

Bethlehem Beth. Okay. Now, So the Jews have a belief that um,

whatever that is behind and above of us and below us, we don't

need to know too much. But what matters is we keep looking forward.

Okay, you get it. Yeah, so you see this like C and

actually bath is actually three lines one two three. It's like an incomplete square

is a square without the right side, the right border. And what it

means is that as we live life, God tells us we don't need to

border too much about things above us. So there is that boundary, the

top line. We also don't need to border too much about things below us.

That's why there's that bottom line. And we don't need to also border

too much about things that have passed. That's why there is that left border.

But what we need to look forward to are things that are yet to

come. That's why there is that missing border, the incomplete line. And

so I just wanted to tie it this into why. Sometimes we want the

why why why so much, But when we wonder why, we are actually

trying to push towards the back. But maybe we're not meant to. We're

really not meant to figure everything out. And to me this is very personal

because I'm a person that likes to figure things out. I like to know

it all, I like to have that sense of control. But God has

been teaching me, Jill. I'm not going to give you all the answers,

and I don't have all the answers to things happening in my life.

And I'm learning to learn it's okay, it's okay not to know everything.

What matters is to look forward to what you have install for me. Okay.

So that's the point I wanted to bring across from this scripture. Right,

we're always asking you know who's sin? You know, why? Why?

Why? Okay? Now we zoom into verse six. All right,

So when he had said these things, he sped on the ground and made

clay with the sliver, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with

clay. Now have you ever wondered why did Jesus have to do such a

weird miracle? Like why can't you just speak and say, receive your sight

and the guy will be you know, his eyes will be open, or

lay hands? Why must go to the extent of using mud, not only

using mud, nor spitting on it some more? It's super extreme, I

mean in modern days. So if I'm there watching Jesus do this, I

don't know whether I can take it or not. I also don't know you

know it's super super extreme. Somehow he's not a doctor at all. I

mean, imagine if you'll came to see me, right, you had conjunctivitis,

right, in fection or the eye rate eye or pink eye, and

then instead of me prescribing you anti biting eyedrops, giving you MC send you

home for five days, I suddenly say waiter that, I go to the

back of the clinic, I pick up amount of mud. I come back

in front of you. Not only that, I say wait one more time,

ah, please makes mix, makes mix, makes not enough, Please

some more, make some more, and then put on your eye. If

a modern day doctor did that, what will you do? Sue him?

I don't sue him, right. Not only that, well, I become

keyboard warrior on social media. This doctor never ever ever go back to him,

even over your dead body. That's nonsense. Can't you imagine a modern

day a doctor. I mean, I so I've heard of funny practices of

different doctors, right, and we also wonder what I don't know if it's

going on with this guy. I shall not mention names. It's okay,

right. The weirdest one I heard is the one one down south but I

shall not go further. Okay, now mind anyways, So you know we

wonder weird betty girl practice these days. You know, it's a it's a

big talk. So imagine Jesus not being a doctor some more and do this

kind of a weird thing. Can you imagine it? It's so ridiculously,

it's so ridiculous that you know, how do you accept it? Right?

In those days? Now, I discovered that one reason possibly why Jesus used

mud as part of this guy's healing is because let's go back to the garden

of Eden again. What they got used to make men? Tell me what

they got used to make men in the garden of Eden? Dirt? Correct

synonym clay, synonym mudd? Yes, the correct synonym I'm looking for.

Oh, Jess, not here, that's way, Doctor Daniel got to try

three times? If Jess or yeah? One timer? Who both eye the

linguists? Right? Okay? Yeah? So God use mud in the garden

of Eden and made man. Right, He breathed into the mud and man

was formed. And so in a New Testament, Jesus was trying to replicate

what was done in the Old Testament. In creation, I use mud because

I'm going to remind you that if I can once make men out of nothing,

I can give you eyesight again. Just like that is God using some

kind of mud in your life. You're waiting, You're waiting for your break

true in the midst of your challenge, and you suddenly and you feel God

leading you through this really ridiculous way, Like, no way, God,

how can this be your way? Impossible, super ridiculous, doesn't make sense

to me or the world any one of you. You have mad coming at

you soon from God. Could it be his trying to tell you that if

I once made men in such a ridiculous I mean, how to say,

in such an impossible way, I can do it again for your situation.

I can create a way out for your situation. I can create something out

of nothing. I can create a possible out of the impossible in your situation.

But you got to trust me. You got to trust me. Okay,

now, so something to think about there. Now, next, I

want to talk about the pool of Silouum. Let's show a picture up here.

Okay, sorry, it's a bit blur, but okay, I will

walk on the stage to illustrate this point. So this is a picture of

ancient Jerusalem. Okay, um number one is where the temple was, the

Temple of Jerusalem. Okay, number one the pool of Siloam where the blind

man was asked to go and wash after he had mud mask on his eyes.

It's literally a mud mask actually you think about it, Yeah, is

here a number three? But told doctor Daniel Jawo, you want to know

exactly Rapajao, It was about six hundred meters six hundred meters, so if

you count in terms of steps, one meters about two steps maybe if you

walk, take a big step. If not, it's three steps. Yeah,

so six hundred meters, so it's about at least thousand and two two

thousand and eight steps away. Super doesn't make sense, right, So this

is the pool of Siloam. Now actually got a nearer pool number two.

Any Bible scholars, he want to guess what is the name of their pool?

Pool? Or Israel a bit far, a bit cool? Sorry waiting,

keep studying skin a skinning come for a's okay, no faster met will

not issue do this in class. But there was actually a closer pool to

the temper, which was just like a couple of meters away. Okay,

it's also a famous pool. It's I give you a clue. It's the

pool that the lame men wanted to get into that every year an angel will

come and stir the waters up. Can you remember? Starts with b or

so one Podesta beth Vesta b e th e s da the pool of Podesta,

pardon my pronunciation. So it's a it's a very well known pool.

And every year, you know, an angel of the luck comes down and

change out personalista the pool, and then you know, God's healing power comes

into it. And then people who have all kinds of infirmities go into the

pool, they come out heal. So why didn't Jesus ask the blind man

to walk to the pool of Podesta, but ask him to walk all the

way to the pool of Siloam? Does it make sense? Super doesn't make

sense? Right? Yeah, the engineers says, ways of resources. Yeah,

asked me to build a road, so far builder to the next pool.

But you know this is our God. So do some of you feel

that God is making you on a journey to the pool of Siloum rather than

the pool of Bodest? Like? God, why is it taking so long

to get to my breakthrough when I could just get it next door, you

know. But there are at least two things here that I learned. First

is that the pool of Siloum is actually a pool of fresh water. So

there's fresh water that comes into the pool, and fresh water symbolizes living water.

And so sometimes God taste us on a longer journey because he wants to

get us to the sauce of living water. He doesn't just want to get

us to any water sauce, but he wants to get us to a sauce

of living water, because if we just go to any water sauce, it

could be dirty and we will still get thirsty again. But living water is

clean, it's pure. In fact, the pool of Siloum was known as

the purification pool, so the Jews will go there to cleanse themselves before what

they call that big days la. Right, So maybe God wants to lead

you to a place where you can be purified. Things that shouldn't be in

your life are removed, and that's why it takes you on a longer journey.

He's not just after your breakthrough, but he's after your character as well.

Remember, our breakthrough can be our what, but the character is the

who. So if God just led the blind men to the pool of Bdesta

number two, he will get his what, his breakthrough maybe, but maybe

he won't get his who, the character. But because the blind man was

willing to go to the further pool, the pool of Siloum, he got

two in one. He not just got his breakthrough, he got he grew

his character or his faith, his spirit. And I will say that,

friends, even though you feel like you're on a long journey towards your breakthroughe

God is not just after giving you your breakthrough, your what, but he's

after developing you the who you are. He's after developing your character, your

spirit and your faith. All right, So hanging there, it's okay to

be on the longer route. You're gonna get more anyway. Two in one,

okay, all right, yeah, okay, So that's that. And

so the summary of this message is that is there something that God is asking

you to do or to follow in a certain path that really seems super duper

ridiculous, illogical, crazy, like you don't see the point. People who

don't see the point don't need to raise sense, don't worry. But this

message is for you in um Galatians, chapter six, verse seven to eight.

It says, do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For

whatever a man souls, he will also reap. For he who sols to

his flesh will reap will. The will of the flesh reap corruption. But

he who sols to the spirit, will of the spirit, reap everlasting life.

So we know that God's will says, what you saw is what you

reap. Okay, So the world did not get that originally, they got

it from the Bible. So we saw obedience. Okay, we will get

at a certain outcome, not just break true, but we get character,

not just what, but we get the who. And the who is what

God is after at the end of the day, you think about it.

I mean, just now we saw there were four condolences, right, and

we know some of the partners whom their loved ones have gone home to be

the Lord. How many of you, when you go for funerals, you

go for eulogies, you hear of their loved ones talking about you know,

the person who has passed away. Oh you know what what position he had,

or how much property possessions or money this person had. How many of

you have been to a eulogy where the focus was a lot on what titles,

what possessions the person who has passed away has or had, I mean

maybe a mention or this person you know held this position, or this person,

yes, had quite an amount of possessions. Maybe it's just a mention,

but it's never the focus of the eulogy. What does the eulogy normally

focus on? Tell me the person who the person was to the person giving

the eulogy. You know, even the world knows that when you pass on,

it's not your achievements that they want to focus talking about all your possessions,

it's who you have been to them personally. And if the world can

be focused on the who at the end of the day, even more so

God, so know that as you're going some of you maybe on the journey

towards your breakthrough, and I prophesied towards your breakthrough, not away from your

breakthroughth God is working out the who in you, Amen, because that's what

he's after. That's who he's after. Now, So act church, there

are three things that we want to be radical in. Okay, leaders,

can you remember not oh ug? What is what does ex church want to

be radical in what's oh radical obedience? That's right. Few pass correct answer

number one. Oh you what is the second thing that we want to be?

Radical in unity? That's right? Few pass number two? Gee radical

gangsters band band? Okay, generosity in Philip Wish church law. Okay,

now it is kidding, it's all good, all good. Yeah. So

in ex church, we want we want to be a church that's a church

that's a radical oh ug church, a church that's radical in obedience, a

church that's radical in unity, a church that's radical in generosity. Okay,

and we know that radical obedience. When you saw radical obedience, you will

read radical outcome. There is the promise of God. What you sow is

what you read. What goes around comes around. You will never run away

from it. Okay. So I just want to encourage us that as you

saw soul obedience, and don't just so fifty percent obedience, but give hundred

percent obedience, which is radical obedience, because you're gonna get radical outcome.

All right. I just want to close by sharing a couple of testimonies,

and then we want to see if we have time to pray. What time

does your service normally end? By Tree Asia okay, cool, I think

we are on time, right. So, um, there are two stories

that I want to share with share with you, okay. Um. The

first story is it happened about twenty years ago. So at that time I

was in my first romantic relationship. So Passa Jack is my second boyfriend and

my last boyfriend. I cannot have any more boyfriend after that, right,

married already? Yeah, So I had a first boyfriend before I got together

with passagaik okay, and we were together since high school. Yeah, we

were together for six years. Yeah, and we grew very close, and

every one thought that we would get married. I also thought we would get

married. He also thought we would get married. Our families thought we would

get married, our friends, the whole world thought we would get married.

So I remember maybe in the sixth year of our relationship that I were in

UNI. Really so I was a medical student here with I'm you, and

then he did a training program Monesh so he was here. Then he went

overseas to Australia to study, and I remember that he told me, a

Jill, why don't you just do a twinning program in medical school as well?

Then you come over to Melbourne. Then when you graduate, we get

married, and then we settle down here. We have a life here,

a family here. Yea, Australia is a good place. Okay, this

story, I know some of you may be going there or not, but

it's just my personal story, Okay, my personal story. Yeah. So

yeah, So I was telling you the idea, Yeah, maybe I should

do twinning. I should go over to Melbourne. Graduate there, find a

job, get married, settle down, I have kids, live my whole

life there. You know. It sounds like a great plan, right,

great place, And I was really going that direction already. But then I

remember very clearly one day the Lord just spoke to me and say, Jill,

I want you to stay in Malaysia. Australia's great. Maybe for other

people I want them there, but not for you. I want you here

in Malaysia. And while there was tough, but it was very clear,

very clear, I heard it. I know it's God's voice now, and

I close my eyes and I think back of that moment. It's so it's

crystal clear. And you know, crystal clear moments in your life can only

be from God because your human memory will fail you. But this is crystal

clear, and so down the road. We actually I told I told my

boyfriend, then I would love to be there with you and live life with

you, but God has called me to stay in Malaysia. What to do?

You want to come back or not? But you don't want to come

back, lah, Yeah, so now I'm mine. So we actually broke

up. We broke up, and it was tough also to break up because

we were so close and everyone thought we'll get married. A lot of tears,

a lot of heartache. But today we're still friends. He's happily married

as a kid also in Australia, and I'm happily married here as well.

Yeah. But so that a moment that I had to choose not just to

be obedient, but radically obedient, because this was someone that I was going

to marry and spend my life with. But God say, he didn't say

not this person. He just said not the place. But because the person

wanted to be in the place, that made the person also not the person

lah, if you get what I mean. So so I stayed back,

and yeah, I was single for a few years and and and then God

brought Passenger and I together. That's a story for another day. But he

brought us together in a very supernatural way as well. And today we're happily

married, We've got three kids. We still go through challenges, you know,

but um, we're better together. Lah. Yeah, and I and

not only that, you know. So God knew that I wanted to get

married, and as I obeyed him radically, he didn't leave me hanging.

Our God doesn't leave people hanging. He blessed me with the perfect husband.

I trust that my husband is the perfect one for me. Maybe not for

you, but for me, La, He's the perfect one. Yeah.

Definitely your jail, yeah, but it's the perfect one for me. And

not only that, His blessed us with the family. And he's really now

I begin to see more and more why he's called me to stay in Malaysia,

because I see him using me in different different ways that are beyond my

planning and understanding. Right. So that's one. So I'm going to go

on to the next testimony as well. So this one maybe happen at the

start of the pandemic twenty twenty. So for those of you who know,

I used to run Clinic Caturer and for eight years I used to run Clinicatura

and we were in fifteen. Then we were in Summit. We were basically

a clinic that was focused on helping refugees besides seeing the general community. Uh.

And so I was running it for eight years. Uh and um when

we were in SS fifteen, Um, you know, the clinic business was

actually picking up well yeah, and we were at a good point. And

then suddenly God to pass a Kenneth to move the clinic to Summit. And

in my mind, it really just didn't make sense because we were doing well.

You know, Um, we were patient, We had a lot of

patience. You know, we're able to you know, pay the bills and

you know, have you know, and and just do well. Basically in

the clinic. We were already being known in SS fifteen. Then God to

I want the clinic to move to Submit And to me, it really didn't

make any sense. It's like, oh God, we tried so hard to

build up the clinic to a good point now and now we have to sally

move. So I know how you feel, doctor Den when sometimes you know

we have to change. Yeah, it's radical obedience rather um, but God

gave me the grace lack to obey, and we move. We move the

clinic to Submit, and just after we move and we spend money and time

to renovate the new clinic in Submit, the pandemic hit and then we tried

to open for a while. But remember the first MCO everything was totally shut

down. So if you if you wanted to come to our clinic last time

when the first MCO hit, you come into Submit, the whole mall is

dark, there's no security guard, even the lights are not even on.

Then you have to find your way to the corner or first floor, and

then you see light coming from clinic criteria and then you go in and then

it's just three of us ladies meet and two lady nurses. So we didn't

feel safe as well alone in a dark mall. We're like, how do

we go on running this clinic? You know, in thiscount situation, our

own safety is that anyone can come in and rob us and do things you

know, I don't want to imagine. So after a while trying to open

in the dark, we decided Nola, for the safety of the staff,

we can't go on running the way we do unless the mall turns on the

lights put security guards, then it's fair, which they did later on a

few months down the road, then they did this. But by that time

God had already given us another decision. He said, I want your to

release the clinic. And I'm like, oh God, we just spent so

much money and time trying to, you know, renovate the new clinic,

and now we're trying to build it up again, you know, to where

it was and close it. Now. That also didn't make sense to me,

okay, but then by God's grace, he helped me to obey radically

again. And then after that, I remember Pastor you know, gave me

an option like whether you know, he said, if you if you want

to go out and work in a marketplace, you can go ahead and do

so, because I don't want to be unfair to you and keep you to

us, you know, yeah, but if you want to stay on with

us, I'll be more than happy, even happier. And so at that

point I had a choice to make whether to go out and work in the

marketplace or to stay on and to work with X and Aya and I to

seek God, and God called me to stay back. So the funny thing

was, at that time, I kind of true this place at God,

and I say, God, if you want me to stay back, then

close all my applications. True enough, I didn't apply out to a few,

and you know the applications were all closed at that point in time,

so it was assigned to me. Okay, I meant to stay back,

but no, no, only that he didn't speak to me in many ways

my personal devotion Sunday message like Sunday after Sunday. The preacher didn't know what

I was going through, but somehow the message was just directed at me.

Have you how many you have felt that It's like I don't know what you're

going through right now, but you could be feeling an arrow from the Lord

to your heart, Like, man, this strikes what I'm going through.

That's God. So week after week after week, he kept sending arrows to

my heart, and I was so convinced that he had wanted me to stay

back with X and a YA. And I was still unclear of the way

forward, and I ask God, God, how do I chat the way

forward? You know, humans always want to know the how, the when,

the why, the why. And God he didn't give me specific plans,

but he gave me purpose. So he told me, he said,

Jill, your purpose is from Isaiah sixty one. That is to bring the

good news in body, soul and spirit to people. And so what I

used to do with the clinic was he would use me to bring good news

to the poor in the body, sick literally poor like refugees. But this

season, God says, I want you to bring good news to those who

are poor in their soul. And that's how I got involved with Linetes,

which is our suicide prevention association or society. Yeah, and so I stayed

on with X and a ya and that I got involved with Linnets. And

I didn't think I'll actually get so involved with Linnettes. I thought it would

just be a side thing and I will still do very much medical work.

But God has turned the tables. I spent two thirds of my time very

much involved in mental health in suicide prevention, and I spend one third all

my time. You know, I'm still serving. I'm still practicing as a

medical doctor, but I focus in a laser focus in on helping refugees because

I only have this amount of time resources as a medical doctor, so I'm

going to zoom in and help those who really need it. So I still

see refugee patients I still do this as one third all my time, but

now I spent two of my time focusing on mental health. And it's such

a great need. It's such a great need in this day and age.

You know, people say that that COVID has really taken the world by storm

and is the greatest pandemic, But I like to beg to differ to say

that actually, mental unwellness is even the greater, more silent pandemic in the

world, and people still find it hard to to step out and reach out

for help, whereas people find it easier to seek out for COVID or physical

illness. But when it comes of mental illness, is it's really tough.

It's really tough. Uh. Yeah. And and so I've been involved in

that, and I've seen God just give crazy, crazy favor to Lynnette's to

actually champion the cause of suicide prevention, like recently, just show a picture.

Yeah, so yesterday, this is fresh on the oven. Yesterday,

our team we went to Smkubangatama and we did suicide prevention gatekeeper training for all

the staff. They're eighty over staff. Their school has a thousand and five

students. Yeah, and so our team went there we did almost fight our

training and this is our team. We're missing Carrie's change, she had to

leave earlier. But yeah, so this is fresh from the oven. But

we've been doing a lot, a lot of efforts on the ground to create

awareness about suicide prevention, whether it's true production or media resources being social media

or even documentary media. We've been doing a lot of trainings. Trainings are

the bulk of what we do. We've gone to schools primary secondary. We've

gone to universities, colleges, We've gone to you know, companies, We've

gone to churches, and God has just opened the door for us to go

into government schools this year, government schools this year, and this is our

first government school that we went to. Tomorrow. I'm going to smk us

J four Yes, Wednesday, I'm going to International Medical College. Next week,

I'm going to Sunway College. The following way, I'm going to Want

Academy down the road. That's smkus J twenty three. That's smk SU again.

This time. The students and we are ready full on with training and

God has opened crazy favor. I went to smk SU to ask for permission

to do this training for them sponsored by our Ardun so suban Jaya Ardun has

actually sponsored ten thousand ring gid for Lynnettes to carry out our efforts in the

local schools. So I went to the Salango State government. No, I

went to this school first at first to say we have this program free tomorrow

or know you want to not yeah, and then they really wanted of course

not because it's free LA only, but they see the value in it.

They see the value in it. There have been cases from this school.

Okay, yeah, but they said, you know what, because we are

a government school, we cannot just agree to you like that. You have

to go all the way up to the Ministry of Education state level and get

their approval. So those of you working companies, you know, a low

the rate, tapes and all that. Right, So I had to go

to the Ministry of Education state level and just to cut a long story shot,

we received crazy favor from them without doing any background check on us.

The assistant director said we want you in. So on the day of the

meeting, right, I brought all the documents and I presented Linnettes and you

would think they would say, wait a while, we'll come back to you

in maybe a few weeks or a few months time. You know how government

works, right, then they go back. Then they discuss, discuss,

discuss, do background checks, sit on it for a while, then come

back to you. But this one, the assistant director on the same day,

we didn't half an hour sit you know what we want you in.

That's it. I'm like in my mind, without a background check, without

discussion with your team, it's it's crazy. Favor Lah were radical obedience,

you get radical outcome. And Anna he leaned over and say, somehow,

you know what, can you do me a favor? Can you do this?

Not just for the district of subang Jaya, can you do it for

all the districts in salang Or So the door has been open to us.

And not only that. He leaned over again somehow and say, you know

what, a can I ask you another favor? We have been having difficult

students in our schools and we're really we really don't know what to do.

We're scratching our heads already, trying all the conventional way. Discipline until cannot

discipline anymore, suspend until cannot suspend anymore, counsel until cannot counsel anymore.

I don't know what to do with these difficult students. But we love them,

we want them to have a hope in the future, but we don't

know what to do. Can your team help us? I say sure,

you know, give us some time to put something together. We'll love to

come back to you. So God has really opened crazy favor for us at

the state level, the Ministry of Education at the state level, and I

did. He said, hey, this one is so good, you should

take it to the nationals. I say, yes, we will love to

bring this to the national level. Our dream is to create awareness in the

area of suicide prevention for the whole Malaysia. Yes, I have half joke

with God before God, you cannot take me home until this task is done.

So that's why I want to live to ninety. To cover Subang Jayat

itself takes us one year, okay twenty over schools the wholes along, or

might take us five years. The whole Malaysia can imagine. So that's why

I told you are going to leave to ninety because there's a great task to

fulfill and this is an area that no one has done before in Malaysia.

We are one of the few, one of the three known so he'side Prevention

Society is in Malaysia. There is one in Pinang. There's another one Miasa

here, but I think they're less than five in Malaysia. We are really

just, you know, one of the few, and I dare say we

are the only Christian or region. So he Side Prevention Association. The rest

are not Christian affiliated at all. We are neutral in the public. We

serve everyone, but we were founded by God. We are powered, we

are led by God. Every training that we do, the Holy Spirit gives

us the blue print. Every client that comes through our doors, the Holy

Spirit gives us discernment, what is the root? What is the way to

help this client? And every single client that has walked through our doors,

they're saying, I don't know how you guys do it. You just know

what the issue is. It's really God. Even the trainings, we get

feedback that it's really spot on exactly meeting then in my heart is really God.

He shows us what every individual, what every group needs, and he

gives us the blue pin for everything that we need to do. We just

need to follow. And so I've seen this kind of crazy favor happen,

and I see the great need. I hate the great purpose. I hate

now I know why I was called to stay back in Malaysia. Yeah and

so, and I know there's so much more to uncover. I don't think

this is even one tenth of my journey. But I just want to encourage

us that, friends, keep sewing radical obedience to what the loud calls you

to, keep sowing radical obedience to what God is calling you too, because

you will reap a radical outcome. That radical outcome is not just going to

come in the way of your breakthrough as in your what, but it's going

to come in the growth of your faith, your character, your spirit,

the who Amen. So no matter how ridiculous God is leading you to,

He's putting a mud mask on your eyes right now, He's leading you to

the pool or siloum, are you so far for a blind man? Not

blind? Or so farther right, but hanging there. Trust the process,

Trust the person behind the process. You know, the world always says right,

trust the process, trust the process. But sometimes we don't know what's

beyond the process, so we find it hard to trust. But in this

case, we can trust the process because we know the person behind the process,

which is our God, and he's a great king, and yet he's

a personal father. Really, there's so much that God has for us.
