You're listening to a message to go from ax Church. We hope this message
-
will light up your team. We have just started this season of Uton,
-
correct, all right? So Uton is fast and prayer season that we do
-
in ex Church. We've been doing it for the past I think about twenty
-
two years, twenty three years x chests about twenty three years, and we've
-
been doing it every year. So we fast for twenty one days, okay.
-
And how many of y'all were at homes for the past week okay some
-
of you all, and we were talking about fasting, right, So y'all
-
should be experts about it. Are y'all experts about fasting right now? Yes?
-
No? Okay, but yess what today I'll be talking about fasting as
-
well. So it's probably a supplement to what we have learned at homes and
-
let's take it from there. So it's actually an interesting time, right,
-
Fasting is it's an interesting word. It has suddenly become very popular in recent
-
times due to different reasons. One of it is intermittent fasting. How many
-
of you all have done intermittent fasting? Right? Intermittent fasting. There's so
-
many different kind of fasting that we do to sort of look better, feel
-
better, get better. When you go for a medical check up, before
-
you take a blood test, you need to do also fast. Correct.
-
And actually this Thursday, our whole nation, about sixty percent of our nation
-
will be going into a time of fasting as well. Right, it's a
-
passa month. Yes, it's fast a month this Thursday. Right and uh.
-
And in Malaysia we are Fasting is not a foreign subject to us.
-
Do you remember when you were in school, um, and you had other
-
classmates, probably Muslim classmates. I remember some of them, I think Standard
-
one, Standard two, Standard three, they were already doing the full fast
-
and not drinking any water. I was like, wow, it's incredible,
-
you know. And then they were doing it from from a young age of
-
yeah, eight nine and um, and sad to say, up till now,
-
I have not even attempted one day of that kind of fast yet,
-
you know. But these people they have been doing it for so they've been
-
doing it so vigorously, they're doing it so religiously, and they really take
-
it seriously. Right, and we know that for us as Christians, why
-
is fasting important? Right? We have learned in homes that fasting is a
-
discipline. It is not a feeling, so same thing as a discipline.
-
Right, working out is a discipline. Eating healthy is a discipline. Studying
-
is a discipline. And discipline right most of the time is not very comfortable.
-
Right, But there is a reason why discipline is important. So what
-
are the reasons why discipline is important? It takes us from point A to
-
point B, which is from a place where we are currently to a place
-
where we want to be. Right, for example, working out, When
-
you want to discipline yourself, you want to workout, you want you're probably
-
not happy with your current state of fitness. You want to go to the
-
next stage, so you discipline yourself. For how many of y'all have you
-
remember your final year assignment or you do your TCS or whatever. How many
-
year all enjoyed that time? No? Right, because but you had to
-
discipline yourself. I have to finish this. I need to go to the
-
next level. So how is fasting than a discipline? What is the next
-
level of fasting? If point A is now point as yesterday, Actually yesterday
-
was day one, But it's not too late. You can always fast any
-
times. Anytime you start is the right time, right, just too fast.
-
So if current day is day one, where do we aspire to be
-
at the end of twenty one days? What do you? Okay, So
-
there's a quote here there are people who fast and get nothing from their fast
-
except hunger. That's a very powerful quote, right, And this quote,
-
I think there are years which I have done uton which this was what happened
-
to me. There are people who fast and get nothing from their fast except
-
hunger. And in terms of that, that's just diet. You know,
-
sometimes you don't even diet low because after you hunger, right, then you
-
go and feast and then you end up putting out more weight. You know.
-
I was talking to some of my colleagues, are some of my Malay
-
colleagues, right, So they want to encourage their kids too fast. So
-
they want to encourage the kids the faster. They sort of incentivize the kids.
-
So what they do is the kid who loses the most weight, guess
-
the biggest I'm powerful, rya, I mean, okay, but it works.
-
It's sort of to build a habit build a culture, right in terms
-
of I thought it's quite a unique way of getting kids involved. Yeah,
-
So today's message, right is actually on the basis of we are at point
-
A and at the end of twenty one days, where do we plan to
-
be after our fasting? What do we need to achieve, what needs to
-
change, and how will our relationship with God improve? Okay, so the
-
fasting is actually very important. And before I even with the title, right,
-
there's the first light I put up. It is from Matthew six So
-
for the previous few sermons that I shared, right, it is about prayer,
-
if you recall, so, prayer is one of the cornerstones of our
-
Christian foundation. And Matthew six right lays down a few cornerstones of our Christian
-
foundation. The first one verse two, so when you give to the needy,
-
do not announce it with trumpets. Giving is one of the key cornerstones
-
of our Christian foundation. Second one, when you pray, do not be
-
the hypocrites. Do not be like hypocrites. And prayer is another cornerstone,
-
which is why I went into the whole sermon series about prayer and you fast.
-
Forward to verse sixteen. When you fast, do not look somber as
-
hypocrites do. The Jesus did say if you fast, he said, when
-
you give, when you pray, when you fast, All these are required.
-
All these are required. So you can see it's not a feeling.
-
It's not if I want to do it, but if you call yourself a
-
follower of Christ. This is what we need to do, and we need
-
to do it right. There is a wrong way of doing it, and
-
the wrong way of doing it is very clear here. You do it like
-
the hypocrites. That means you do it for the form, but not for
-
the function. You do it so that other people will be impressed rather than
-
your life's being changed. Right, So this is fasting. So the title
-
of today's sermon right is how do we fast forward? We need to fast
-
forward after our fast, we need to go forward in our walk we got
-
although our fast and prayer is called you turn, But why do we?
-
I say you turn right because we were going in the wrong direction. So
-
we need to you turn and fast forward in the right direction. Yeah,
-
so we need to really that is the key thing. Right when we fast
-
again, the worst the worst I mean the like I said the quote earlier,
-
right, you get nothing from it from fast except hunger. That is
-
a wasted twenty one days. That is a waste twenty one days. But
-
when we want to fast. Make sure we fast forward and forward, meaning
-
we are walking towards where God wants us to go to. All right,
-
so how do we fast forward? Okay? I made it simple. Four
-
points. First point, it's all in the acronym of fast. First one
-
is focus. So we just now we sang the word. We sang the
-
word, we sang the song. My focus is Jesus. It's the alpha
-
and omega. Right, when we fast, who are we focusing on?
-
Because if we are just focusing on the form, then we are saying that,
-
hey, everyone here is fasting. Like for example, everyone here is
-
fasting. I need to fast. Then the focus is what are people thinking
-
about me? If I don't fast? But when you fast, you have
-
to ensure that your focus is Jesus. So whether people know you fast or
-
not, it doesn't matter. The important thing is God knows your fasting,
-
and God knows that you're focusing on him. Right. So one of the
-
examples right, next line, So this is from the book of Ezra.
-
So a bit of contacts. Right, Ezra came after Daniel, right,
-
and Daniel you know that they were taken to baby Lawn. They were made
-
slaves, and Ezra was after Daniel's time where all the Jews were going back
-
to Israel, all right, And to go back to Israel, right,
-
they had to make a nine hundred mile track. That is a very very
-
long journey. No, nine hundred miles. There's no joke walking Okay.
-
There were no cars. There were I don't know. If you have camels,
-
there'll be a lot of camels, right, And but to do this
-
it was it was a very dangerous journey. So Ezra, this is where
-
Ezra says, Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava,
-
that we might humble ourselves before God. Okay, So when he proclaimed the
-
fast, he said, humble, humble ourselves before God. When you humble
-
yourself before God, you are focusing on God to seek him from the right,
-
to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and
-
all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the King and escort
-
of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because
-
we had spoken to the King saying, the hand of our God is upon
-
all those for good who seek him, but his power and his wrath against
-
all those who forsake him. So we fasted and entreated our God for this,
-
and he answered our prayer. So, Ezra, he's the prophet.
-
He needed to lead, he was the man of God. He needed to
-
lead the Jews back to their country nine hundred mile track, and it was
-
a dangerous journey. But you see right. He also was very concerned.
-
He did not want to ask the king for help because he said, hey,
-
my God can do everything. He will protect us. You know,
-
he says, the hand of our God is upon us, all is upon
-
all those for good who seek him, but his power and his wrath against
-
all who forsake him. So and verse twenty two he says, for I
-
was ashamed to request of the king and escort of soldiers. So you have
-
a mission at hand. Who do you ask for help? Who do you
-
ask for help? If you say that Jesus or God is your protector and
-
your provider, and you ask the world for help, what does that look
-
like? Because your actions speak louder than words. Words are just words.
-
But Ezra took his words and made it to action by saying that I will
-
fast and I will focus on God, and God will give me the answer.
-
How I don't know. I do not want to depend on human strength,
-
but I want to depend on God. So that's focus. Right.
-
So when we start fasting, right, we it's for us again uturn,
-
uturn is we have to focus on God. You know, in this day
-
and age, there are so what's the opposite of focus? Distractions? There
-
are so many distractions, so many distractions from a handphone to the news,
-
to the weather, to roadblocks just now, there's so many distractions, you
-
know, to the politics. Uh, there's even distractions within the church.
-
What more external? And when we are distracted, right, what does that
-
say about our dependence on God? Because no matter what comes my way,
-
I will depend on God. I will focus on God. And that's what
-
uton is supposed to do. So when we fast, we need to focus
-
and say, God, you are the center. Do you know that?
-
Can you accidentally focus? Cannot right accidentally focus? Maybe you go bowling?
-
You go bowling, right, you you if you haven't bowled for a long
-
time, and the first time you go bowling, you can get straight one,
-
you know, because you're actually aiming wrong, but accidentally God, then
-
after that you get a few rounds, right. I don't know how it
-
happens to me if after a few rounds. I'm like, I think I
-
got the hang of it. I'm going to aim properly now. Then all
-
tuet, no more strike anymore? You know? So focus right? Well,
-
I'm trying to say is focus requires effort. Focus requires effort, and
-
it is not accidental. It is intentional. So when we fast, it
-
has to be intentional that our focus is Jesus. Okay, if I move
-
to the next slide. So collosions three was one to two. If then
-
you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ
-
is sitting at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above,
-
not on things on this earth. So focus our eyes on the things
-
above. You know, you think about it this way. If your kids
-
are having issues at school, don't worry. I'm all right, yeah,
-
so the kids have all right? No, So for example, right,
-
yeah, the kids are having issues at school. Like for example, if
-
Jeroman Jude come back and tell me that they got issues at school, all
-
right, do you think it will be effective for them to find a solution
-
from their friends or to come back and tell the parents and get the parents
-
to provide a solution or an alternative or a new perspective. When we are
-
facing troubles of this world. Why do we look for solutions of this world?
-
We are in but not off this world. So we need God to
-
give us the wisdom. And only God can only give us the wisdom if
-
we focus on him right now, I think a few sermons I mentioned this
-
already. Everyone is looking to chat Gypt as the answer right now. It
-
is ticking over everything you know, But is that the answer? What is
-
chat Gypt? It is human wisdom. It's not even human wisdom, it's
-
artificial intelligence made by human wisdom. But who made humans? Why do you
-
want artificial intelligence when you have the King of kings and the Lord of lords?
-
You know. So let's not be overly dependent. Let's be very cautious
-
to reduce our dependency on God and increase our dependency on men because we know
-
that men will fail. Right, So let's again focus next line, Ah,
-
this is yes, okay, yep, this is the one. So
-
one way of focusing on God right is by meditating on God's word. So
-
I won't go through all the verses, but these are just some of it.
-
Okay, Like when you focus and meditate on God's word, your prayers
-
become more effective. So John fifteen, verse seven. He says, if
-
you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish,
-
and you'll be given to you. Your prayers become if active. Second
-
one is you will hear God's voice I Psalms one on nine, verse ninety
-
nine, I have more insight than all my teachers. For I meditate on
-
your statutes. I have more insight than all my teachers. Next one,
-
it strengthens our faith. Faith comes true hearing the word of God. And
-
that's how it strengthens our faith. It brings us joy and delight. So
-
Psalms one nine, fourteen and sixteen says, yeah, I meditate on your
-
precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrease. I will not
-
neglect your word. So how many of y'all need delight and joy in your
-
life? You know this is a scarce commodity. Now, joy in this
-
world is a scarce commodity. Everyone is looking for peace and joy and last
-
but not least right, succeed in life. How many of you all want
-
to succeed in life? Joshua one it do not let this book of the
-
law depart from your mouth. Meditate on it day and night, so that
-
you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be
-
prosperous and successful. So when our focus is on God, right that the
-
list is endless. This is just some of them, and it starts all
-
this during this time of fasting. When we focus on God, this is
-
some of the benefits because we are aligning ourselves to God. Okay, So
-
that is f okay. If I go to the next line, A anticipate,
-
So what are you fasting for? What are you fasting for? Have
-
you come up with specific ask from God? Because like just now when Laura
-
mentioned, right, if you have a testimony from Uton, share it at
-
a link, how will you know you will get the testimony if you didn't
-
ask. So when you focus and then you anticipate, you anticipate means you
-
are you're you are very clear on what you want and you're waiting for God
-
to move or you're waiting for God to move you and to change you.
-
So A is anticipate. So some of the things that we anticipate, right,
-
is we pray for direction, Right, we pray for open doors,
-
we pray for break true, we pray for discern monment and wisdom, We
-
pray for providence, we pray for healing. All these are very specific and
-
the most specific you are when God comes true. You know that it only
-
can be God. Again. If you do not like, you cannot accidentally
-
focus. You also do not want to like you accidentally get a testimony.
-
You know, I mean, God is a good God. He will still
-
provide. He will give us even more than what we could ask or imagine.
-
But don't you want to ask knowing that God is a good God?
-
Why do you just want to just leave it as blank and say, Oh,
-
if God is good, then he will give me what I need.
-
Luck, what is it that you need? And if you ask according to
-
His will, he will give it to you. So when you focus,
-
you know his will, and then when you ask you anticipate. You know
-
that God will give it to you. So what are you anticipating for At
-
the end of these twenty one days? Are your prayer requests clear? If
-
it's not clear, try and get it clear. Make it as specific,
-
measurable, attainable, realistic and timely as possible. Right because it's very clear,
-
you know, and then God, you can see God move. So
-
if I go to the next light. So this is an example in Second
-
Chronicles twenty right. So it was when King Josephet and the Israelites they were
-
under siege, right, they were at war, and it says, yeah,
-
it happened after this that the people of Moham, with the people of
-
Ammon and others with them besides the Ammonites, came to battle against Josaphat.
-
Then some came and told you, as the fat saying, a great multitude
-
is coming against you from beyond the sea and from Syria. And they are
-
in Hazazon Tamar, which is and Jetty and Josephat feared and set himself to
-
seek the Lord proclaimed a fast throughout all Judea. So all Judah gathered to
-
get to ask help from the Lord. And from all the cities of Judah
-
they came to seek the Lord. Their prayer request was very specific, God
-
deliver me, and they fasted, they focused their prayers. They asked what
-
God to deliver them, and then they anticipated God to move a lot of
-
times. Right. Why we do not want to anticipate God to move,
-
you know, is because I mean, this is this is for me.
-
Sometimes I feel, oh, I have to be realistic, load you know,
-
I cannot control God, you know, or I have had my own
-
prayers that have not been answered before. So I don't want to fully anticipate.
-
I don't want to fully trust in God. But what's the benefit of
-
half trust? Half trust is no trust. If you have a half trust
-
in God is as good as saying God, whatever. If you come true,
-
great, you don't come through, It's okay. But we have to
-
come to this place where it's life and death situation. And the Israelites anticipated
-
God to move on their behalf. That's the kind of prayer requests. That's
-
the kind of asking that we need to depend on God for and that can
-
only happen right when if we get our focus on Him and we ask according
-
to his will. Right next slide another example. Queen Esther, So y'all
-
know Queen Esther right, so it's easier, right, go gather all the
-
Jews who are present in Susion and fast for me. Neither eat nor drink
-
for three days night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise and
-
go I will go to the king, which is against the law. If
-
I perish, I perish. So when she asked all the Jews to fast.
-
What were they supposed to fast for that she will have favor with the
-
king. And they and she, I mean she and the Jews they anticipated
-
and they put all their eggs in one basket, which is God's basket,
-
because it's easier if I perish, I perish. There is no safety net.
-
With God. We do not need a safety net. If we ask
-
according to his will. He is faithful man as the next one. This
-
is in the book of Daniel. So Daniel, earlier I spoke about Ezra
-
right bringing the Jews back from Babyland. So this was before that, just
-
before that, it says Daniel understood by the books the number of years specified
-
by the word of the Lord True Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish
-
seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. So this was coming towards the end
-
of the seventy years. That means the Jews was supposed to go back right
-
and verse four, and I prayed to the Lord my God, and made
-
confession, and said, Oh, Lord, great and awesome God, who
-
keeps his covenant and mercy with those who love him and with those who keep
-
his commandments. Right. So David Daniel was very specific. He said,
-
God, you promise seventy years, So I'm going to fast. I'm gonna
-
find out and anticipate what you are going to do. Right next verse verse
-
eighteen, Oh my God, incline your year and here open my eyes and
-
see our desolation. And then verse nineteen, Oh Lord, here, oh
-
Lord, forgive, Oh Lord, listen and act. They are anticipating God
-
to act. So are we anticipating God to act at the end of our
-
twenty one days? Or would it just be a fast? They just resulted
-
in hunger? Right next one? Okay, so there's this exodus another example.
-
So this was Moses, right, So Moses, the Lord said to
-
Moses, write these words, for according to the tenure of these words,
-
I have made a covenant with you and with Israel. So he was there
-
with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank
-
water, and he wrote on the tablets the words of the Covenant and the
-
Ten Commandments. You want a word from God, anticipate you won direction,
-
anticipate and fast, because he sees here that Moses, when he fasted and
-
prayed, God gave him the Ten Commandments. Get God gave him the word.
-
So if you need that word for your life as well, you need
-
to anticipate it. Okay, next one, so again first John five,
-
and we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases
-
him. And since we know that he hears us when we make our requests,
-
we also know that He will give us what we ask for. So
-
this verse right, you have to be very confident of what you are asking,
-
and you have to be very confident that God will come true. How
-
confident are you that God will come true for your prayer requests? This is
-
a question that you need to ask yourself. You're listed down your prayer requests
-
for U turn right. First gauge is ensure that you have written it in
-
according to His will. When it is according to His will, one hundred
-
percent of the time, he will come true. That is the kind of
-
faith that we need to have. Right. It's a bit quiet here,
-
but I hope you'll like getting something right. Okay, So that was a
-
Next I moved to s so S is submit, so F is focused a
-
anticipate s submit so for submit right. This is very interesting. I think
-
I think during homes I I was sharing right, Why did Jesus have to
-
fast? Because fast thing? It's like you turned back to God. But
-
Jesus is God. Why did Jesus have to fast? Have you all ever
-
thought about it? Why did Jesus have to fast? Okay? So if
-
I go to the worst, then Jesus was led by this spirit into the
-
wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. For forty days and forty nine
-
he fasted and became very hungry. I stopped there first. Then Jesus was
-
led into the wilderness, led by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted
-
there by the devil. That one verse already can like a see you too,
-
like hey, what's happening here? You know? And then when I
-
was just studying this world, right, you know that God is fully man
-
and fully God. And this was right after Jesus was baptized. Right,
-
it was right after Jesus was baptized and the Holy Spirit brought him into the
-
wilderness to be tempted by the devil. So if you think about it,
-
right, if was this, if you know that Jesus, Jesus is godla
-
no problem for him, and you know, no issues he wouldn't face the
-
same struggles that we face, supposed Leila. Right, But he says here,
-
for forty days and forty knights, he fasted and became very hungry,
-
very hungry. I think four hours or so will be very hungry. This
-
forty days, forty nights, he became very hungry. What happens when you
-
become very hungry hungry? Right? And you know the Masslow's hierarchy of need,
-
You know the triangle, the Masslow's Iraqi of need. One of the
-
base foundations, right, is your physiologic logical needs, which is food.
-
When you are desperate, right, and food is not available, people will
-
become desperate, and people are willing to do whatever it takes. Right,
-
So it says here, right, the devil knew that. The devil knew
-
that when you are your lowest point forty days, right, you are hungry,
-
you are desperate. That's when the devil will come and tempt you.
-
And I think I preached on this sermon before. There are three ways where
-
the devil will tempt you. Right. The three ways is last of the
-
yeah, last of the flesh, pride of life. And I'm trying to
-
get last of the eyes, last of the flesh and the pride of life.
-
So that was how that's how the devil will come to tempt us.
-
And the devil also came and tempted Jesus. And the devil didn't send his
-
minions or no, he came big gun came to tempt Jesus. Like for
-
us, I don't know what the devil sends one minion also were like all
-
already, But the devil came down himself to tempt Jesus and forty days right,
-
you see, right, if you are the son of God, tell
-
these stones to become loss of bread just by reading this? Right? Do
-
you think it is wrong? Hey, you're hungry. You have the power
-
to do so, so why not? Because last time when I was reading
-
this, I'm like, what's the problem? Easy word? But then Jesus
-
told him no, the scriptures say people do not live by bread alone,
-
but by every word that comes from the word of God. So why why?
-
I mean when Jesus replied like this, I'm like lucky, Like,
-
hey, what why was he so against it? Any thought? Why was
-
Jesus? I mean, this is supposedly I don't think there's anything wrong with
-
it. But what I came to realize is sometimes the good answer is not
-
the God answer. So the devil can rob us from God's best by giving
-
us good when what we need is God. What is sin? Missing the
-
mark? So if God wanted you a hundred percent and you say ninety nine,
-
you've missed the mark. And this is what Jesus says, because who
-
brought him into the wilderness the spirit, and the spirit told him to fast
-
for forty days. If he turned the bread rocks into bread, he would
-
be defying the spirit. So although the scriptures say it is true, and
-
although I have the power to do it, yes, but am I defying
-
the spirit? Yes? I am not submitting to God. And this is
-
a big thing for us. Right submission, You know that submission? Right?
-
How many of your think is easy to submit? Even in marriage?
-
Submission? So it's what makes the marriage stronger. Submit to each other.
-
Right, submission is a sacrifice. Okay, next one, next line?
-
Yeah, so again, then the devil also brought him up to the temple
-
right and asked him to jump off, but Jesus responded, you must not
-
test the Lord, your God. So again this is the pride of life
-
and the final one. Next it's like right, and saysia, I will
-
give it all to you if you kneel down and worship me. Get out
-
of here, Satan. Jesus told him, for the scriptures say you must
-
worship the Lord your God and serve only him. You see, right,
-
when you are fasting, it is when you need to fully submit yourself to
-
God because you are not depending on your own strength anymore. And the devil
-
knows it. So that is when he will attack. And if we draw
-
our strength from God, and we ask we take our strength from him.
-
That's the only way we come up on tops by strengthening our relationship with God
-
and submitting to him. Okay, all right, after all this, what
-
happened after the three temptations? What happened? Yeah, after the angels attended
-
to him. After the angels attended to him, Jesus began his ministry.
-
You want to be used by God, you have to submit to him first.
-
You submit yourself to him. You say, God is you. I
-
will put my faith and trust in you, and God will use you in
-
miraculous ways. God needs to know that it's not we don't want to do
-
it out of our own pride, but we only do it to glorify him
-
man. Okay, and the last one t okay. Yeah, so t
-
is transformation. So at the end of twenty one days we should be transformed.
-
We should be transformed, all right. So the worst this is from
-
the book of Daniel. Okay. So Daniel spoke with the attendant who had
-
been appointed by the Chief of staff, and then he said, please test
-
us for ten days on a diet of vestables and water. Daniel said,
-
at the end of the ten days, Daniel and his friends looked healthier,
-
better nourished than the young men who had been eating the food assigned by the
-
king. Okay, so you want to look good and healthy, go on
-
a Daniel fast yeah, wigetable and water, no coffee and okay, so
-
this one is here. Next line so yeah, this one is here right
-
just now was truncated. So at the end of the ten days, Daniel
-
and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished. And then verse seventeen.
-
God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature
-
and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of
-
visions and dreams. So you think about it right when Daniel, if I
-
go through the fast acronym, they were focused on God. Right, They
-
had a f and then they anticipated God to move by giving up the king's
-
food. So I told you already the king's food is good, but is
-
it God's plan? Right? And they submitted to God. And because they
-
submitted to God, God transformed them. God gave them unusual aptitude for understanding
-
every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to
-
interpret meanings of visions and dreams. So, Church, this is the power
-
of fasting done right. By the end of twenty one days, we need
-
to have a transformed life. How transformed, again, depends on how much
-
you trust God, how much you submit to Him, how much you focus
-
on him. Because God can do it. Do you know that Daniel?
-
Right, he lasted three different kingdoms, three different kingdoms. That means,
-
right, you don't care whether your boss change or not. You don't care
-
whether your company changed, You don't care whether the government change. In every
-
government change, right, he was still top. And God is the one
-
that can bring about that transformation. Man. So even as I just draw
-
towards the close next line. Yeah, So this is no one impressed him
-
as much as Daniel, Hananiah, Michelle and Azariah. So they entered the
-
royal service. Whenever the King consulted them in any matter requiring the wisdom and
-
balanced judgment, he found them ten times more capable. This can only be
-
God. When you submit to God. Like I say, God is able
-
to do exceedingly abundanly more than you could ever ask or imagine. God will
-
give it to you. Do you think that Daniel asked to be ten times
-
No? No, he just focused, he enter, he praised it,
-
say God, I want to remain faithful to you, and then he submitted
-
to God and God gave him exceedingly abundantly more than he could ask or imagine.
-
So when we pray, right, let's not focus on the results.
-
Let's focus on our spirit. Is our spit it aligned to God? Because
-
you just say God, I want a million bucks? What does that do
-
for your spirit? God, I want to have six backs? What does
-
that have to do with you? How does that impact your spirit? But
-
if you just say God, I want to be fully submitted to you,
-
the sky is the limit. God will be able to do exceedingly abundantly more
-
than you can ask or imagine. Man, So humble yourself under the mighty
-
power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in
-
honor. Don't chase for glory. In the right time, God will lift
-
you up. As much as we want to strife, you know, we
-
know that God is in control. And sometimes I have to do in the
-
corporate world, right, sometimes you feel that, Man, I need to
-
be I need to stand out. I need to yeah, be visible,
-
like in your performance review and all day they say, hey, people need
-
to know you. People. You have to go and make your your name
-
famous and stuff like that. But I don't know. Sometimes I just it's
-
like not in me truly. So I just told God, God, you
-
promotion comes from you. And when we fast, right, we come to
-
a place of submission and say, God, it's up to you. I
-
submit to you. God, you are my CEO, and at the right
-
time He will lift you up in honor. And the last line ning next,
-
Yeah, so fast, let's focus, let's anticipate, submit ourselves to
-
God and read the end of the twenty one days of prayer and fast we
-
will be transformed in Jesus name. Man, we hope you've been blessed by
-
this message. For more information on our church, please visit us church dot
