  1. You're listening to a message to go from x Kitch. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day. The kids have been going through this series,

  3. as I was told, for the last two months, and it's on the

  4. Covenant series. Am I right? Excuss teacher, so give them a break

  5. this week. I'm the excess teacher for today. But yeah, this is

  6. the last segment of the Covenant series and they are moving towards the end where

  7. we are talking about New Covenant. Uh. And um, just just to

  8. give you an introduction, they have something on screen. Yes, so I'm

  9. just using the ex kit slides a little bit because it's so beautifully done compared

  10. to my slides. So, yeah, the Covenant series. And of course

  11. they use this team, uh, Indiana Jones's team. They've got heads if

  12. you're unaware, hats kids, Yeah they did this. Yeah, but I

  13. can't because I look look bad at hats. But you can, you can

  14. if you want, Okay, So um, now I'll flash up the first

  15. slide with a map. They also given some maps and as they as the

  16. weeks progress, they navigate through different segments trying to find treasure. Anybody knows

  17. Indiana Jones or was it just my era, my era, the whipping,

  18. the oh, the new ones as well. Yes, I think like he's

  19. come out of retirement and it's still doing it. I think from nawstand because

  20. he's a bit Oh anyway, let's get back to this. Yeah, of

  21. course they're they're discovering treasures, and he's a treasure hunter and archaeologists by trade.

  22. This is the character in Indiana Jones. But what we have is that

  23. they put past, they plastered past the Sarah's face on the Indiana Jones is

  24. what I heard poster the poster, I had a glimpse of it. I

  25. don't have it here today, but if you want to talk to the extetitude,

  26. I'm quite sure they will show you what it looks like. But yeah,

  27. it's just discovering the Covenant in the Bible, and today they are looking

  28. at the treasure map kids J Tree J one to J three. Okay,

  29. if you can see the bottom right corner over there, I'm sorry if you

  30. cannot really see clearly, but at the very bottom is actually the pool of

  31. Salum. All right, that's where remember the story that the blind Man was

  32. you know, sent no rap rap sent on his ironand sent to find poor

  33. guy or actually sent to find a pool that is still blind. And then

  34. of course you know the story, there's miracle after that. But you know

  35. that that's the pool, but up north right to to two blocks up,

  36. it is actually the Ghunt springs, okay. And that's where the spring actually

  37. field or rather supplied water to that pool at the bottom. Okay. So

  38. we're gonna be focused on that case. So you can treat color if you

  39. want, uh, color chat out. You know where the water is coming

  40. from the north, all right, the north wheest. The parents can help

  41. if you if you want, okay, j tree to j one hint hint

  42. okay, uh and and and and and that that little channel over there,

  43. it's actually called Hezekiah's tunnels, okay. And I've got a picture or illustration

  44. in the next slide, and it's all underground. So on the far right

  45. is where it starts, I think, and then all the way the bottom

  46. that is where the miracle of the blind, the guy the blind rubbing his

  47. eye and then that happened in the pool of Siloum there okay. Um.

  48. So I've also got a video to help everybody out, Okay, a short

  49. clip and then I'll come back to the context. Okay, the city that

  50. they will lived. Then three thousand years ago. God is amazing for preserving

  51. the sprint's words. God is now more sticks Sae. We've got really deep.

  52. It's still warmer than outside though, like wow, is worrying thing.

  53. This is the Guihan sprint where Nathan the prophet took Psalmon and annointed him here

  54. as king. M All right, we did have flashlights here, so that's

  55. how you would enter. Yeah, you would walk through and at first had

  56. sore. But then he goes to me, this stunnel right here was down

  57. but has a kaya. And what he did he took two teams from two

  58. sides of the mountain and they started digging her two sides and they actually met

  59. in the middle of the question is how how did they do it? And

  60. a half thousand years ago, Well, at the top, they believe they

  61. had a team that helped them by sound. They would tap on the top

  62. of the ground and navigate them in the line, so they would meet each

  63. other at the end. So they would listen to where the sound is coming

  64. from from the hammers from the top of the ground, and they would go

  65. with the sound. There's an inscription the end of the tunnel described the day

  66. when they met each other, the two teams, and how incredible that was

  67. and rejoicing and how the water gush through. We're not gonna take it today

  68. because it's pitch black. It's a very cold. It's called outside. If

  69. for a web would go out, not gonna happen. Wow. So we're

  70. walking in the tunnel. A little has a kaya tunnel. So we're walking

  71. in the Canny tunnel. It was dug out three thousand, eight hundred years

  72. ago right under Mount Maria where the city of David was built, where Jebusite

  73. was during the Hanny times, where Abraham almost sacrificed. I think, wow,

  74. all these stories, all these events right here, amazing Bible coming to

  75. life. It ends right there. Yeah, I like it doesn't go that

  76. high. Okay we huh. So that just gives you an idea of what

  77. that tunnel looked like. Uhum. And of course, like I said,

  78. it still exist today, modern day still exists. And we actually when we

  79. were traveling in Perth, we visited one of these tunnels um caves, sorry

  80. caves, I mean interne of the lights or it's pitched black and all so

  81. I just wanted to imagine what it would be like right when they were actually

  82. digging. They probably did not have flashlights or torchlights that are battery operated,

  83. probably just I don't know, a candle of some sort or we're gonn torch

  84. and that's about it. And they dubbed a very long tunnel, as you

  85. can see in the illustration over there. And this was King Hezekiah U King

  86. David's great great great great great great great great great a few times great grandson

  87. Okay, very very much later. Uh. And and this connects us under

  88. the city. So even when they were attacked right during the time, during

  89. the ancient time, the water wasn't disrupted at all because it was really really

  90. buried underground in some sense. And it's still uh. I'm a civil engineer,

  91. so I appreciate these things a little bit more. Actually in terms of

  92. construction, is she not the easiest to do? Tunneling is easy to dig

  93. a hole. Meeting at the right place is one thing. That's that's another

  94. miracle on its own, but having it not collapse it's also another miracle on

  95. its own. So yeah, by to day's engineering standards, it's actually quite

  96. okay. Because it survives so many years. But that's not the main point.

  97. The main point is actually to say this that you know, a city

  98. needs water to survive because if you know, uh, you know, humans

  99. can survive without food for quite some time, quite a lot of days actually,

  100. But water is actually one of the precious commodities, uh there, that

  101. we require because without water we will perish. Okay, So just as the

  102. city requires water, we we also need water. But of course today's contact,

  103. we're talking about water in a different sense. It's in a spiritual sense.

  104. We need water, and we're gonna draw today from John chapter seven,

  105. kids, John chapter seven, thirty seven to thirty nine, and you will

  106. see some blanks to fill up. So we're gonna read this together all right

  107. up on the screen. If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me

  108. capital m me, which is obviously God, and drink he who believes in

  109. me, as the scriptures said, for from his innermost being will flow rivers

  110. of living water. But this he spoke of the spirit whom those who believe

  111. in him will him in him were to receive. Okay, So kids,

  112. if you can just fill up the blanks over there, and I'm just gonna

  113. check out, okay, can write not too smaller, okay, but really,

  114. as believers in Christ, you know we need to have living water,

  115. but not just the ordinary physical living water. We're talking about, you know,

  116. the spiritual living water. And everybody, kids, do you know with

  117. what this um living water? Who this living water? Or what this living

  118. water is all about? Any guesses? Concentrated our He's like, I want

  119. to get a star, all right. Of course we're talking about also having

  120. the Holy Spirit reverse as it says here, okay, and as we go

  121. to day by day, the Holy Spirit will guide us true all right and

  122. give us what we need because you know, life is always an adventure,

  123. right, so we need to have a guide, all right. So the

  124. title for this segment is really about living the New Covenant, right, live

  125. the new Covenant life, all right? Kids? Being and what does it

  126. mean by living a new Covenant? Right? We're getting there. You can

  127. also write notes. Actually I think it's jump ahead and finish everything today.

  128. There's also a note section where you can write notes if you want. Adults

  129. can also take their own notes. I put up a title beforehand. You

  130. can read that, but this one is the simplified title and I'll come back

  131. and go a bit deeper on that. But really, this living the New

  132. Covenant is really just walking, right, walking and being led by the spirit.

  133. Right. And as we are led by the spirit, we produce something

  134. a bit unique, right, And what do we produce? Kits or what

  135. they produce? Adults? Anybody when you live produce blood? Okay? Maybe

  136. not all right, I'll get some volunteers up very shortly. I'm going to

  137. do this game, very short game where we have adults versus kids. All

  138. right, can you flash up that that game show? Anybody knows this game?

  139. Show? Next one, next, next, light Edison, there's a

  140. there's a fifth grader thing. Yes, eye knows this all right. Who

  141. is up for the challenge? Lindy, Okay, Lindy, come right up,

  142. Linday. One more? Any other volunteer anybody? Jo Lynne? Really?

  143. Oh Joel okay, come yesterday. For those of you at the wedding,

  144. we need an amazing job, right, come, miss Titanic sit down?

  145. Okay, all right, So I'm gonna give them the task and see

  146. whether you can sit down there. That's fine, all right, So very

  147. simple, okay. Uh, we are to name the fruit of the Spirit

  148. who all too together? All together? How many don't think I have fauna?

  149. They got no phones? How many are together? Nine line? Got

  150. twenty one? Okay, let's see how you do. Okay, the kids

  151. have blanks, so they're right now? All the fruit? Can you right

  152. now? All the fruit? They all finish? Okay, Okay, I've

  153. got prizes. Yeah, I've got French French, not French fry, but

  154. French chips, petits or noons. Okay, if you can get this right,

  155. you get a bag. I got two bags. Okay, all right?

  156. Should we get them? The name, name name, okay, named

  157. half half flour. Get to be fair. Who's gonna take five? Hey,

  158. you're gonna go for the easy ones? Yes, I need a kids.

  159. You know why because you have a song for it. Those exec will

  160. know the song as well. Nine fruits nine fruit of the spirit, not

  161. apple, not pears. Love okay, love your neighbor. Okay, so

  162. so love okay, never mind, give chance, give chance love love number

  163. one, love, kindness, kindness, what else? Kids? Corn?

  164. Kids cornut? Forgiveness, it's forgiveness in their children. No, no,

  165. okay, give chance not wrong? Joyfulness, get joy. Joy is in

  166. there, and that's good what's next? Patience? Correct? Okay? Checking?

  167. Okay, what else? Anyway, run up plus for them. I'll

  168. get up anymore. Well done, give them chance for participating. So one

  169. for you. This is camember uh in French, and uh put it on

  170. once? Okay, all right? And the kids, the kids also have

  171. one okay, now all nine. He's got all nine written down, okay,

  172. okay, no, no, he knows look at the paper. Night,

  173. love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodnessfess, gentleness,

  174. and self control. So I guess we know the answer to that. We

  175. can't. We can't be in the fifth grade. But anyway, thanks guys

  176. for being participated, right. I also have a slide up there all all

  177. all nine is up there. But yeah, of course this is important because

  178. we are as we are living life and we have the Holy Spirit in us.

  179. We are also to show some characteristics of you know, the fruits,

  180. right, the fruit of the spirit, right, which is the nine that

  181. the kids did so well? So well done to them. I hope I

  182. don't sugar load them too much after this, but yeah, all this is

  183. important. Uh. And and what I want to say is as well is

  184. that um, definitely the Spirit will change us and the output of that spirit

  185. is the things that we just mentioned, okay. And as we walk in

  186. the spirit, what actually means by walking in the spirit is that we will

  187. also maybe more and more carry less and less desires of the flesh. No,

  188. we as humans generally tend to be a bit more sinful in nature is

  189. inherent in us. And by walking in the spirit, we can tend to,

  190. let's say, discard they're not so good fruits. Okay, And I'm

  191. going to get the kids to do this exercise right now. Okay, the

  192. very last one at the bottom over there, next light, please one more?

  193. One more? Okay? Is there anything in your life that God wouldn't

  194. want you to keep? Or what I put down there? I put the

  195. list down some bad habits that would make God not happy or unhappy? Okay,

  196. at the bottom over there you can list a few, and of course

  197. the adults can also make a mental note any bad habits that are there that

  198. are not so I guess spirit led or or even God godly in that sense,

  199. What what if I'll maker our God is not too happy about you know,

  200. anything you can put down that is fine, And I'm gonna get the

  201. students or students rather the kids to do this, and I'll then wrap up

  202. their segment. Okay, is that okayybody? Okay, all right, simple

  203. message today, But of course I'll go a bit deeper after this. Uh.

  204. And I'll get the kids to too quickly write down and maybe just read

  205. out a few because kids just left kids like they're very honest. Uh,

  206. let's see, I'll get I'll get see what you put down? Okay,

  207. never mind? Okay, so just read some of the is gonna read you

  208. read something? If see? Agree? So? Anger? Right? Anger

  209. is something he wrote down? Is that? What do you write? Lazy

  210. nash? Okay, let's work on it later. Okay, hmm you mean

  211. you put sinning? Okay? Sinning? Oh, this guy is like cover

  212. everything. It's a student la. What do you right on that? Ash?

  213. Coaching foruching, pushing it forching? I don't know what he said,

  214. but you deciphered that later. What do you write? Um? Swearing?

  215. Okay, swearing? Okay, I think if you does, still have to

  216. work on that sometimes. Okay. So just as a simple exercise, I'll

  217. get you kids to tear off the last bit of the paper. There's a

  218. perferforated line at the bottom or just a dotted line in the bottom. Just

  219. fold it or parents can help your your kids out as well. Tear it

  220. out, okay. And then what we're gonna do is we're gonna crush it,

  221. okay, crush it a little bit, crush it all right, crush

  222. it as yes, crush it great, okay, and we're gonna do it.

  223. Then we're gonna be discarding it. Let's right, we're gonna discard all

  224. that because why it doesn't belong right, it doesn't belong here because we have

  225. the spirit of God. Right, Okay, it's gonna trade right far.

  226. Let's step aside. Okay, I guess I guess we understand this. Okay,

  227. all this is just a simple exercise to illustrate the point that you know,

  228. all this doesn't belong there. Difference negative, not so good spirits like

  229. like you know, lying, stealing, jealousy, anger. I think someone

  230. or someone shredded it as well. All the best to the answer clean.

  231. But yeah, the new when we have the new covenant in us, God

  232. will allow us or give us a power to do what's right. And the

  233. Holy Spirit that's living in us will actually help us, uh, you know,

  234. decipher what is right and what is wrong, and that's the simple message

  235. of really having living waters in us. Okay, So I will allow the

  236. kids to do their thing. I think they want to enjoy coloring more.

  237. Thank you just for preparing that. I wasn't sure that they can carry on

  238. with this. But yeah, we're gonna go a little bit deeper. Okay,

  239. duky, so far all right, Okay, now behavior slides Okay,

  240. so sorry, I'm gonna come to the more boring slides. Can you go

  241. to the next few Okay, I think they're already done a day. Okay,

  242. So there's just illustrating one of the slides of joy and all that.

  243. Okay, then we'll come to this now, Rivers of the Living Water.

  244. I'm using the amplified version of it because I just like the way it's put

  245. and I'm just gonna reread, okay, John chapter seven, thirty seven all

  246. the way to thirty nine. Okay, just in the same context. So

  247. if they are listening, then fine, If not in their mind, okay,

  248. Now let's it's titled Rivers of Living Water. Okay, thirty seven,

  249. okay, verse thirty seven. Now, on the last and most important day

  250. of the feast, Okay, this is the feast of the Tabernaca. For

  251. those of you who don't know, we will go a bit deeper. In

  252. a bit, Jesus stood and called out in a loud voice. Get the

  253. EMPI. Bible tends to give a bit more background. Okay too to what's

  254. happening. If anyone is thirsty, let him, as in us humans Homo

  255. sapiens, come to me and drink. Okay. He who believes in me

  256. as in God, who adheres to trust in and relies on me capital m

  257. as the scripture has said, from his innermost being, will flow continually rivers.

  258. Okay, I just don't need to focus on that word rivers. It's

  259. not river, it's rivers. Okay, probably Taipoa, all those English teachers

  260. of of living water. But he was speaking of the spirit, and in

  261. Bracket's holy Spirit, whom those who believe in him as the Savior were to

  262. receive afterward. The spirit has not yet given, because Jesus was not yet

  263. glorified or raised in honor. Now, as we read those words, what

  264. are the thoughts? What are your thoughts on it? I said, I've

  265. used a very simplified version of it. But now we're going to go a

  266. bit deeper. How does this sit well with you when you read those the

  267. texts over there? When I read it, to be very honest, I

  268. had a self reflection to check where I am right? Is it true for

  269. me or not? The simple fact that we are, you know, meant

  270. to be flowing, not just one river, but rivers overflowing. You know

  271. what overflowing is? Right? You cannot control I know if you ever drops

  272. something in the river, right I happened to me before I dropped my phone

  273. in there? Yeah, it just goes. You cannot stop it, right

  274. know, because it just goes. It flows? Right? This is multiple,

  275. you know multiple. But the question is if this is the case for

  276. you, is your life ever flowing? Is? You know, is what

  277. you're producing ever flowing? As well? Is in another word another way to

  278. put it, is it gushing out of you? Is it flowing out of

  279. you that you cannot control it? And then this is you know, a

  280. hard check And I put this next light here, I put there time to

  281. halt and reflect those questions. Have you ever felt the deep belonging to within

  282. your soul that you turst for something that is not materialistic, that you know

  283. you cannot quench in a normal sense. This is the thing that we're talking

  284. about. And if you experience it before, and I'm quite sure some of

  285. you have, you have a deeper longing. But the question is are we

  286. ever forever or consistently having this gush on a daily basis and not? Then

  287. I guess we have to ask ourselves why, because it's meant to be meant

  288. to be you know, in this context, right has to be like this,

  289. So the questions that I've just asked, right, it's actually very can

  290. be quite convicting. By the same time, it can also be a place

  291. where we can be also hopeful because or sharing a bit if we're being honest.

  292. Sometimes it's trickles or water, right, sometimes is dried up during contact.

  293. I don't know where they came from, but you know it's it's you

  294. experienced droughts sometimes, right, And of course, like I said, sometimes

  295. even completely dried up. There coloring a river with the words at the bottom,

  296. by the way, he cause you're wondering what's happening. But sometimes there's

  297. also a little creek. But the creek we're talking about is a creek of

  298. living water, not just any water, but living water. So the question

  299. really is is it abundant rivers plural not just one sometimes you're just happy with

  300. one. We're talking about plural here, or is there barrenness or dryness?

  301. And the question is what causes the dryness? Is it our walk with him?

  302. Because in the scripture we did talk about or read about, it's all

  303. about the walk, and this is the thing that I wanted to cover.

  304. But of course you just will also give us a bit of hope. It's

  305. not all doom and gloom, because if it doesn't mens up the description myself

  306. included at times, it's also applicable to all of us, I would say,

  307. right, because it's God's promise that out of the innermost being it will

  308. flow rivers of living water. That's his promise. As long as we,

  309. uh, you know, we we do what's necessary in that sense. Now,

  310. let's just look at the practical side. What is what do you think

  311. is causing or hindering this overflowing? Anybody shout out something and what they just

  312. did? This now also just just a hint in a very practical sense,

  313. I think it's sort of covered that a little bit. We are inherently what

  314. sinful, right, so sinful something sin. Sin sometimes can be the one

  315. that's preventing this outflowing, this outpouring of it. And sometimes we can also

  316. look at it's not just about sin in that in that very strong word,

  317. it could also be different differing levels of faith. It's another way to put

  318. it. Okay, and this is one thing that I think we need to

  319. be careful of. But let's just look at subscriptures just to uh try to

  320. ground ourselves, because we want to talk about experiencing the fullness that we're talking

  321. about over here. Now, let's look at Philippin's one six Okay, he

  322. who began a good work of salvation in us will perfected until the day of

  323. Jesus Christ. So it's his promise he started something here. All of us

  324. are born into an identity in Christ. We are God's children, right,

  325. So therefore something has begun. And therefore if the start is already there,

  326. he promises that he will ensure that you continue to get there, right,

  327. So it's his promise he'll complete it all right, And then the next one

  328. here versus sorry, Philippin's three versus twelve to sixteen. I know it's a

  329. long verse over there, but in short, right, It is really about

  330. pressing towards a goal, or towards the goal that Jesus has set for us.

  331. Okay, So I like summaries. So the next light here gives you

  332. an exacutive summary. For those of you who just want to go home right

  333. now you can. That's an executive summary, okay. Jesus less bless us

  334. all everyone ui, small kids included, all right. And he who believes

  335. in him will have rivers of joy or rivers of joy? Pull up?

  336. Am I saying? Rivers of living water flowing out of you? Right?

  337. And this rivers that I'm talking about is actually after his spirit. And there's

  338. also a reason why you are given this. It is for you to bless

  339. others, not for yourselves, right all right. The water is supposed to

  340. go out, and I'll talk more about this in a bit, all right,

  341. every okay, so far, So there's a promise, and let's just

  342. go through a little bit, and I promise you it will be a very

  343. simple message because it's meant to be for the kids compared to last week.

  344. Anyway, Let's get there, all right. So Jesus blessess is whoever who

  345. believes in him? Okay, And this is his promise, and and we

  346. look at that. Now we come back to the setting. All right,

  347. we talk about the feast. Okay, I've got one slide. Oh why

  348. is it so so? Anyway, I'll read up some reason. I think

  349. when it's converted from Google slights is a little bit faint. But yeah,

  350. the scene here is or the setting rather, it's on the feast of the

  351. Tabernacles that we read earlier. It's a very important, uh festival, because

  352. this is the festival to remind them, okay, in the Jewish calendar,

  353. to remind them to give thanks to God. Now they have come up from

  354. the wilderness. They've seen the miracle of the rock, you know, the

  355. sorry, the staff eating the rock and water coming out from it. Okay.

  356. They've also been been been given manner remember manner, right, special food

  357. that is only given on a daily basis you cannot store, Okay. So

  358. they've come from that and this whole celebration it goes on for seven days,

  359. uh, you know, in a in a cycle, okay, and in

  360. the last day, as we read in the scripture um, the what has

  361. happened is that Jesus actually came out and made a bow claim to say that

  362. that you know what he said earlier. Let me just read through the scripture

  363. again. What do you say? Yeah, today seven can go back to

  364. the amplified by book. Now on the last and most important day of the

  365. feast, Jesus stood and call it in a loud voice. If anyone is

  366. thirsty, let him come to me and drink on the end of the seven

  367. day of celebration. Some argue it's actually eight days about this except seven days

  368. a weekler to be to simplified. But if you want to read on,

  369. you can read about it. But this is just really a bold claim,

  370. uh that we proclaim that this is happening. This is a context. And

  371. just to give you idea how they celebrated. They have this goal. Pickure

  372. picture or not not picture p I T C h R picture right. That

  373. they actually pour water the priest of Paul, water that is drawn from the

  374. pool of silium that we've just read about earlier. Okay, and and and

  375. and and this quote unquote ritual is to celebrate all that. It is to

  376. symbolize the pouring out of the spirit uh uh and for God to continue to

  377. watch over their people. And this is the context here when and then seven

  378. days later Jesus came and he actually said the word he said, and so

  379. in some sense, right, when did you say he's the living water?

  380. Right, he's actually substituting the whole celebration and also fulfilling something that's been said

  381. before. If you read um verse John chapter fourteen, it says here the

  382. word became flesh. And I'm reading from the TLV version because it uses the

  383. word tabernacle, but a lot of other words. She used the word dwelt.

  384. Okay, So the reason why you chose that version instead, because we're

  385. talking about tabernaco so, and tabernacle among us is simply and dwelling among us,

  386. all right, So just using a different word because it's talking about if

  387. it's a tabernacle, so Jesus, it's the word he became flesh and tabernacle

  388. with us. So I think what is trying to say here is that Jesus

  389. is the the substitute fold that water that we talked about, okay, in

  390. that celebration even and like I said, it's a very bow claim because no

  391. one can do that unless you're God. And I appreciate that a little bit.

  392. Yeah, no one can do that except for God. And he didn't

  393. just say it in a silent voice in the scripture that you read. He

  394. said it quite loudly, lah, quite boldly. Okay, quite surely as

  395. well. All right. It says, come to me, and I'll fulfill

  396. the scripture by causing the rivers of living water to flow out of the innermost

  397. being. That's a very bow claim, you know, it's not just some

  398. small thing. And then this also signifies right that this cannot only happen through

  399. him, because God tabernacle with us when he said that. Okay, so

  400. is this a bow claim or is this a crazy claim? We don't know.

  401. I mean, we know, of course, but back then people will

  402. like this guy's you know, crazy right. But one on the focus on

  403. I on the focus is is that Jesus actually gave an invitation to his people

  404. to say, come, come and drink. If anyone turs, let him

  405. come to me and drink. Okay, and we'll talk about the significance of

  406. this um next oh, sorry, invitation come okay, next line. Okay,

  407. So what is the extent of the promise? Who does it cover?

  408. Okay, As we read in the scripture, it says, if anyone turs,

  409. what's anyone anyone? Lah, there's no there's no trick question here.

  410. Anyone means anyone or everyone, everybody, not specific demographics. At the time.

  411. Is everybody or everybody is covered. It's as broad as it gets.

  412. Essentially everybody is covered, including at that time those who sin, because we

  413. did say that sin will be the one that's hindering, you know this this

  414. flowing right, So even sinners. Ah, and then we'll read a little

  415. bit. Who's the chief of the sinners back then? If you read through

  416. first Timothy, you know the apostle Paul right before that, he was so

  417. right. He basically was the one that led the crusade to kill all the

  418. you know, the Christians back then. Yeah, so even those who sin,

  419. uh is included in this, okay. So if you read first Timothy

  420. says, Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. Okay, of

  421. whom I am the worst. This is Paul saying that I'm the worst sinner,

  422. and yet I'm also included in this anyone? Okay. Revelation twenty two,

  423. it says the spirit and the bride say, come, let the one

  424. who hears come, Let the one who is thirsty come, let the one

  425. who wishes take free gift of the water of life. Again, everybody,

  426. everybody is included, not just the specific, not just God's chosen people.

  427. It extends to everybody and each and everyone of us. Okay, So hopefully

  428. you caught that the breath of the promise is for everyone. All is included,

  429. open to all. It's another way to put it. Okay. Next

  430. one, what is the condition? We always ask what's the contract terms?

  431. You know, what is the fine print? You know what what what is

  432. the conditions before you can redeem something? You know, what's the condition of

  433. the promise? Anybody? The scripture? I put the slide up just to

  434. help you out a little bit. You must be thirsty, because it this

  435. is if anyone is thirsty, So you have to be thirsty before you can

  436. receive. Right. And of course here what is he even buy thirsty?

  437. I don't think just a physical sensor. Maybe thirsty in the spiritual sense as

  438. well. All right, and I put up put up some scriptures over there.

  439. Again, it's not recular, read some of it, okay. So

  440. Isaiah fifty five says an invitation to those who are thirsty. That's the hither

  441. this is all taken from the NIV version. Come all, all you who

  442. are thirsty, come to the waters, and you have no money, come

  443. as well, buy and eat. Come buy wine and milk without money and

  444. without costs. Okay, and again the key word there is all who are

  445. thirsty forty two. Of course we know this is a famous song for those

  446. of you who are in the older era like myself, will even have a

  447. song that how does it go? One sing? And okay, can't for

  448. the water? Okay, so this is the wine sound forty two. Okay,

  449. ask the deer pans for the streams of water. Okay, So my

  450. soul pants for you, my Lord. And this comes from sounds forty two

  451. Psalm sixty three, You God, my God, earnestly I seek you,

  452. I thirst for you. Again the word Revelation twenty one to the thirsty.

  453. I will give water without costs, from the spring of the water of life.

  454. So at the guns, just looking on the surface, all you need

  455. to do, all the condition is really just be thirsty. You just need

  456. to be thirsty, and that's enough. So because of but the thing is

  457. right, that's a surface. But the thing is sometimes right. People may

  458. not even realize that they're thirsty, right, and talking more specifically, maybe

  459. those people that are sinning, you know, because we did say that this

  460. is the main demographics that may not have received yet because they don't recognize their

  461. thirsts so they may even satisfy the void or that thirst with something else,

  462. right, And I guess you can catch for I'm coming from this um.

  463. There's a famous EVANGELI. Everybody knows John Piper, right, not not not

  464. not that Piper. There was the rat anyway, uh okay, anyway,

  465. John Piper's dad actually made this statement. The most difficult thing was not getting

  466. people safe. And sometimes we when we do church, we do we witness,

  467. we always think about getting people saved, but the most difficult is she

  468. getting them lost, because if they are not lost, they cannot be saved.

  469. I hope that makes sense, right, And I thought that was a

  470. very profound thing when I read it. It means they do even know they're

  471. lost. How can they saved be saved? Right? They were like,

  472. why do you need to save me? I'm not I'm not even lost.

  473. And this is what we're talking about, right, They do even know they're

  474. thirsty. In other words, people don't sense that they desperately need God or

  475. Christ all the living water because they don't even realize the thirsty all right,

  476. and some people are like that, they go on, maybe they even exercise

  477. a lot, exert themselves. They do realize that they're actually dehydrated. I

  478. mean, of course it is sends the dehydration from the living water. Okay,

  479. they don't feel thirsty, but they made thirst for other things. And

  480. of course the thirst for other things is actually talking about sin et cetera.

  481. Okay, so really it is really recognizing the thirst of God is the prerequisite

  482. before you can receive the living So again, just to give some context here,

  483. that's why we always try to quote unquote educate or just try to help

  484. the ones that do not see it to recognize it first, before that we

  485. can go and take go the extrama or go beyond that. Right. But

  486. that's the promise that we just talked about. Okay, the condition is really

  487. just be thirsty. And sometimes it's not because they're not thirsty, they just

  488. don't realize that they're not thirsty. Okay. Now, next one, okay,

  489. is the promise that's simple? Is it really that simple to receive the

  490. living water? It just says come to Jesus and drink and that's it.

  491. Oh so simpler. Is it really that true? I think it is.

  492. You know, so if anyone is thirsty, right, come receive, be

  493. fed, or be in that sense, be be hydrated, and then you'll

  494. be okay. And it's really that simple. It doesn't take a lot of

  495. effort. It doesn't even require myself to exercise a PhD degree to to really

  496. understand that. They all you need to do is stick some water and you'll

  497. be all right. Now. I used to I used to do a lot

  498. of household work, and I remember one time I was up in the roof

  499. fixing some roof towels and it was out the hot sun, right, and

  500. it all it takes, right, is for just to say, you know,

  501. get hydrated. She brought some water. I appreciate the water, but

  502. what what How do I then consume the water? I need to actually do

  503. something. There's an action on my part to receive the hydration, take it

  504. before I can be feel. It's a very practical thing. I know,

  505. it's a very practical illustration. But you need to it's really that simple.

  506. If you thirst you need to do something before you can be feel. Maybe

  507. gothing like magicula. You know your your download, But no, it doesn't

  508. take a lot of effort. You just have to do the action. All

  509. right, But um, where are my train of thoughts? Uh? Yeah?

  510. Firstly, of course you have to One of the barriers is really they

  511. may not believe or they may not realize, that's one thing. But they

  512. have to realize and then they have to believe, right, And that's why

  513. sometimes in the Salvation prayer we talk about believing right. Once you believe that

  514. you can receive. But if you don't believe again, you're ignorant. And

  515. then maybe perhaps that's where that barrier is. Okay. Another illustration is that

  516. sometimes there may even be a river running through a desert in a very dry

  517. place, but if you do not walk up to the river and consume,

  518. you will not receive that water. So what's the use of that river running

  519. through the water? Okay, So that's one way to put it. So

  520. it's really that simple. Come to Jesus, drink and that's all it is.

  521. Okay. Now let's talk about the next one. Who's the supply of

  522. the promise? And I think we cover a little bit about this earlier.

  523. This is really the Holy Spirit, right, and the Holy Spirit dwells in

  524. all of us, every believer, all right. And what does the role

  525. of this Holy Spirit is to then supply to us for every spiritual need that

  526. we have. Okay, So who's the supply Holy Spirit HS, the big

  527. HH capital H and S is dwelling in us, all right. And if

  528. you look at the scripture that we read earlier John seven thirty nine, it

  529. speaks about this spirit here whom those who believe in him were to receive,

  530. for the Spirit was not yet given because Jesus had was not yet glorified.

  531. Now, just to explain a bit too, to minimize some confusion, this

  532. is because pre Jesus time, so the prophecy that Jesus will will be there

  533. to replace that prerequisite wasn't has not quite happened yet. But we also recognize

  534. that the Holy Spirit has been there since the beginning, even in as early

  535. as Genesis. Right. If you read some I put up some scriptures at

  536. the bottom tip so sorry, there is small X to X four thirty one

  537. galicians, etc. Those are evidences of the Spirit every even before Jesus time,

  538. before before the day of Pentecost, where we really see the spirit active

  539. in that sense, very visibly because people were speaking right using the gifts of

  540. the spirit. Okay, but but even before then, the speaking of tongues,

  541. the spirit did exist. And this is what they're talking about, gay,

  542. because even in Genesis, as I mentioned to you, the spirit was

  543. moving even the waters as as the world was created. Day. So let

  544. us fast forward a little bit. I'm not gonna go too much into this

  545. detail, but let's look at the last slide and that's then I'll let you

  546. guys go the rivers of the living water. How do we quote unquote unlock

  547. this power? Okay, what is the key? Right, we've learned it

  548. earlier. Or it's all about just walking with the spirit or walking in the

  549. spirit. And one that's walking in the spirit actually mean, aren't you glad?

  550. Actually the text is they use the world walking and not running or jumping

  551. or bungee jumping. You know, it's not big things. It's really just

  552. that small little stepped because even as a child, you know, you realize

  553. that you have to take baby steps before you can start to run, right,

  554. And all it really needs is walking in the spirit, not running,

  555. not jumping, And that's something that we need to over time you will learn

  556. and then that fullness or the extent of that Holy Spirit, the potentition,

  557. the hospirite, we release as we continue to walk and journey with Him.

  558. Okay, So yeah, uh, how does it? How does it work

  559. in the practical sense, that's a daily thing that we have to do,

  560. right. Uh. You know, let's just go back a little bit.

  561. The innermos being right that we writ in the scripture that's actually talking about the

  562. animals being for the China man is the dispartler, the belly, the innermost

  563. being, right, how do you get filled? Right? The cravings,

  564. the craving and again just I mean jokes aside, the cravings right, if

  565. we do not, we are sinful in nature, so sometimes the sinful cravings

  566. will would supersede the cravings of the spirit. Right, So you need to

  567. be very careful of that. Okay. So where I was I? Yeah,

  568. So all those that we talked about, joy and the whole long list

  569. of fruit that we're talking about can only be exercised as we continue to do

  570. life with Him, as we continue to daily walk with the Spirit, and

  571. this will all be okay as long as we do that. But last point

  572. before I let you guys go and I think we've covered that as well as

  573. the kids. Like I said, everything has been covered in that short lesson,

  574. But I'm just breaking down a little bit more. Right, Really,

  575. river has to flow out from you as you receive, because if you think

  576. about rivers, right, how does river works? It starts off from a

  577. source. Has to go somewhere. Now, even if you are um,

  578. let's just say you're just receiving. Let's say you let's say you continue receive

  579. from church, for example, on a Sunday, et cetera, But you

  580. do not have an outlet to give what will happen to you even though it's

  581. good stuff, let's say on Sunday or even Bible study, et cetera.

  582. In your own devotion. You you absorb a lot, the lot speaks to

  583. you, but there's no outlet for you that you will eventually become like U.

  584. Like the dead sea. You know what the dead sea is, right?

  585. They did see? Is the place where you if you actually jump on

  586. there, you will not sink. Why because nothing gets out of that sea.

  587. Everything is contained. So even as salt and light using that as a

  588. pun, that all the salts will just remain there and you will not be

  589. able to do your part because a river is actually designed for you to outflow.

  590. Okay, And what more, rivers, rivers are meant to out flow,

  591. outflow to who the baron does it? The people that needs to hear,

  592. the people that are dying of thirst, that are not even realizing that

  593. they are thirsty. And that's what we are called to do as a church,

  594. Okay, are we Okay? All right? So that's the end of

  595. my message really, And like I said, it's not all doing in gloom.

  596. It's all hard checked at times. It's just sometimes important to have a

  597. simple reminder about our calling and our purpose and what we are called to do

  598. within where we are placed. Okay, but yeah, assess yourself, just

  599. like how in a very simple kids' story. You know, we have to

  600. be reminded what the purpose of the Holy Spirit is and what are our purpose

  601. to ensure that we channel the overflowing you know, rivers out and not just

  602. keep it for ourselves. So we both witnesses wherever you are, continue to

  603. love people. Yes, we are called to be wressels, but we're not

  604. meant to just contain. We are meant to also ensuring that the others receive

  605. because that's where we are placed. We hope you've been blessed by this message.
