You're listening to a message to go from acts church. We hope this message
-
will light up your tea as our theme for this year. Yes, what's
-
our theme for this year? Yeah, that all may know out from Book
-
of Daniel chapter four, verse seventeen twenty five, that all may know that
-
He is the Lord that heaven rules, no matter what Heaven rules, and
-
they all need to know that that they may come to know Christ. Amen.
-
So today's message is just to encourage us that we can be that vessel
-
that all may know. All right, Matthew, chapter five, verse thirteen
-
to sixteen. Matthew, Chapter five, verse thirteen to sixteen. You know,
-
in some churches when they read the word, we celebrate the reading of
-
the word. Ah. So if I read the word, they go like,
-
amen, Amen, this celebrated. Remember remember I taught you Amen is
-
also the name of Jesus. Every time you say Amen, you're saying Jesus.
-
Okay, don't scream, okay, kay, save your boy, Save
-
your boy. So we celebrate the reading of God's word. This is the
-
living word of God. He is living Amen, and his word is here
-
for us. So Matthew chapter three, verse thirteen and sixteen and five and
-
Redver fifty thirteen of sixty. And you say, all right, here we
-
go. You are the salts of the earth. Tell a neighbor you are
-
the salts of the earth. Very salty, not humsup, not hamsap,
-
just salty. Okay, But if the salt loses its flavor, how shall
-
it be seasoned? Oh no, everybody say, oh no. It is
-
then good for nothing but to be thrown out, trample under foot by men.
-
Then you are the light of the world. Tell a friend, you
-
are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill
-
cannot be hidden, nor do they light a lamp and put it under a
-
basket. But it's on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who
-
are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they
-
may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. Amen to the
-
reading of God's word. Amen, praise the Lord. Okay, this is
-
it. You are salt and you are light. You are not a firework,
-
I know, Katie Perry said, Baby, you are a fire you
-
work. You make my heart go boom boom boom. No, you are
-
not a firework. You are dynamite, full of the Holy Spirit. Amen,
-
you are salt, you are light. Jesus is saying you are.
-
He not saying you will be. Maybe you are. He says you are,
-
so you cannot run away from being salt and light. Church, wake
-
up, you and I aressault and light. But we get to practice in
-
judge firs right or not? Okay, you don't practice in judge. You
-
can practice. I'll side what you mean. Now see number one smile smile.
-
See your smile as beautiful as yours lights up the room. Ooh,
-
okay, there's a pickup line. Okay, boys, you can take it
-
for free. I give it to you. Your smile as beautiful as yours?
-
Okay, all right, I don't know whether you get picked up lab
-
but anyway, your smile is like a million dollars. That's like salt into
-
some boring rice. Is your smile? Yeah? So many of us don't
-
smile. Enow. We don't exercise the muscles of our face to smile.
-
You know, you know why I'm so young. Actually i'm grandma age,
-
but i'm so yeah. Yeah, yeah, I can't say I'm grandma age
-
if I had children younger. But I was really having too much fun and
-
and you get these muscles working. You look young forever forever. All right,
-
come out, okay, salt of the earth. What encouragement Jesus is
-
saying? You are salt? You are like? How about salt? He
-
says, Hey, if your salt lose the saltiness has no more tastes?
-
Whoa no more taste? Can you imagine tasteless Christians walking around? Taste this?
-
Christians? Taste this? Christis No. You're full of taste, sooner,
-
full of flavor. Wherever you are, in your school, in your
-
in your university, in your offices, wherever you are, your community,
-
your own family, you are flavor. Hallelujah. You add flavor. Work
-
out of flavor. That's a question we have to ask ourselves. Work out
-
of flavor? Tomm young flavor, very very hot flavor, chili pardy flavor.
-
Are we gonna watch out? Then? All right? You are?
-
You cannot be tasteless, because if you lose your saltiness, you will be
-
useless. How about the light? You are light of the world. A
-
city that is set on a hill is set on a hill. The city
-
is not set in the valley. The city is set on a hill.
-
So that you can see. Amen, look at those words. It's on
-
a hill. It cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamb and
-
they put it under a basket. So you know, nobody lights a lamb
-
and puts it on a basket. You light the lamb, you put it
-
on a lampstand so that the light shines and it draws people to that place
-
that is dark. All right, anywhere we go we look for some form
-
of light, even if you're driving at night, to say, okay,
-
you nieds. I never drive very much. But when you drive back to
-
hometown at night, then if you look forward to having those what you call
-
the lamp stands right the road lights, you've got very very peaceful low.
-
You don't have your car lights become bright the la all right, but when
-
there's lights along the highway, it helps a lot, all right. I
-
tell you Malaysia is not the world. Okay, we tell your Relasia always
-
you complain Malasia bless Malasia were high. We got lights on the lights can
-
drive go? Do you care? I tell you no lights? No light
-
driving? Yeah? You care? No lights? I don't know why saving
-
legacy ted no light? Come on? We need the light so you are
-
the light. Amen, and uh and and you know and men see your
-
light and you shine God's light, God's love, God's life. They are
-
going to glorify your father in heaven. They're going to glorify your father in
-
heaven because they see some amazing stuff happening in your life, through your life.
-
Amen. So you know, there's this quote from San Francis of a
-
sec it's just another your block that lives around the corner of your house.
-
Not okay, San Francis, you see a Franciscan monk who really followed Jesus,
-
although they are all Catholic background whatever, but he heard the word and
-
he practiced it. And so this is one he says, all the darkness
-
in the world can't extinguish the light from a single candle. If you ever
-
heard that quote, All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light from
-
a single candle. How many of you are the candles standing singly in your
-
office, singly, hungle hunger single, a single candle in your family,
-
in your classroom, in your university like Jaha, Are you the only candle?
-
If you are, please don't blow it. Don't you say I'm the
-
only one. I'm the only one. I'm the only one. To Jesus,
-
people, don't blow your light. Keep your burney, keep your oil
-
in your lamb, burning, burning, burning, Give me oil in my
-
lamb, keep me, give me all in my lamb. I give me
-
all in my lamb. Keep me give me burning to the break of man.
-
Don't blow your light out. I know so many times you walk in,
-
you go like, I'm the only one. I'm the only one.
-
Are you so shy to be called a child of God? To follow up?
-
Christ? Blow can don't blow because he says, the even the darkness
-
of darkness, your single candle light will remain burning, and it draws people
-
to the light that's in your life, which is Jesus. Amen, you
-
don't feel like you are a light. I'm telling you your presence in your
-
office, in your classroom, in your in your community, in your family,
-
in your marriage. If you're the only believer, don't blow out your
-
light. Jesus saying you are the light. And you might feel but I've
-
done nothing. No. Just standing and shining is one thing you can do
-
already. Shine right, just shine, don't worry. Just shine first,
-
Shine first, Just shine. Because He's so dar and then people cannot see.
-
But because you're shining and everyone will come to you. It happens.
-
It happens. When we're the only light, something will have to somehow shift
-
and they find the light that's in you. Amen, So really want to
-
encourage us if you're the only light. I know some of the students that
-
me. I'm the only Christian in my classroom right, so not on one
-
other friend is a Christian in my office. I'm the only one. Sometimes
-
we feel we're the only one, but actually somebody else is, but they
-
never tell, They never tell. Already quiet and silent. So we need
-
to stand therefore and be the light? And how do we be the How
-
do we be the light? Speaking black lady, you ease you be?
-
So how do we be the light? San Francis says, preach the gospel
-
at all times and when necessary use words? What what? Preach the gospel
-
at all times and only when necessary use words. I mean, you are
-
preaching as you are your life. You're living how you live. You don't
-
need to speak so much. If you can live out your faith, live
-
out your your you know you walk the talk. You know you don't.
-
I'm not as I say you ask me, I delight in my class and
-
how Hello, Hello, I'm Christian. No need to say ye, you
-
just live it something different about you, and that would be your humility,
-
your generosity, your kindness, your love, your gentleness, because not everybody's
-
gentle. I'm not very gentle, very kind, very humble. Somehow people
-
get drawn to such ones. So it's true, isn't it. People don't
-
just hear your words, they see your life, and your life speaks of
-
the goodness of God, the faithfulness of God, the mercy of God.
-
And so it's a reminder church, No, don't feel bad or whatever you're
-
No, it's a good reminder. Hey, what am I doing? Where
-
I am? I know we have the work from home these days. I
-
think we should go out and work lick so that we can meet people,
-
or we make appointments that we get to meet people, sir, so that
-
there's a chance to connect. Or is it family or is it the shop
-
owner meet people? Because otherwise, if we keep it in a bushel,
-
keep it under a basket, nobody's going to see your light or taste the
-
flavor that you're going to bring around them. And the other quote from San
-
Francis. You see, also the deeds that you do be maybe the only
-
sermon some persons will hear today. The things that you do, your act
-
of kindness may be the only sermon anyone will ever ever get to hear.
-
So you are preaching, even though you are not preaching. Is you're doing,
-
is you are and and that's that's it's so powerful, just how people
-
recognize that there's something different and why are you so kind or so patient or
-
so enduring? They see it. And so that's why Jesus says you are
-
the light. You the light of the world, and you are the salt
-
of the earth. Amen. All right, are you excited that you are
-
going out today assault and light? Amen? Yeah. See, so many
-
of us forget that we are solved. I forget sometimes, right because when
-
you go around, you got this long face because you're angry about something you
-
know, and don't say hello to anybody. You don't say good morning,
-
or so what's a good morning about a good day? What's so good about
-
the morning or something like that, So you're so upset. And sometimes we
-
got a lot of things on our minds. Sometimes we have, but then
-
sometimes we have different responsibilities and understand. We can't be smiling all the time.
-
I remember, but if you try a little bit, just a little
-
bit, something that you begin to practice may change the atmosphere of which you
-
are in. You are the one that changes a man the things around you.
-
And and I believe the lot did not by accident call as salt and
-
light just to be useless. And he said, say, ooh, you
-
could be useless if the salt doesn't doesn't work anymore, no more salt.
-
I really don't know how long salt can last. Doesn't even know how long
-
salt can last. In the saltiness, I've got salt. There's more than
-
five years in salt. People buy salt and give me from from every trono
-
if by salt from different countries, Celtic salt, La sort in the bamboo
-
from Sarahwalla, salt by the river, Margaret River, Murray River, salt
-
on the mountain, salt from Nepal. Like you don't eat so much salt,
-
so I keep there a very nice you know, then finish one,
-
no news and an Harley cook. So how long did they last? I
-
have no idea. So it seems like salt can late lose its taste.
-
How I'm not sure, so let's check whether we have tastes. No,
-
don't go licking your friend. No, don't do that. Okay, no,
-
no, no, no, I'm just saying we could lose our flavor,
-
all right, Okay, salt, it is flavor. It flavors things
-
around. It also preserves friends when you are in your community, your place
-
of influence, in your school, in your classroom. Okay, what can
-
salt do when you are in the midst What does salt do? It's flavor,
-
It preserves would why would it preserve? Talk to me, I can't
-
here. It stops decay. It stops decay when you are in a mizz
-
like when I'm with my friends after many years. They know me. They
-
don't use bad words in front of me. They don't like the ala mad
-
anti there, don't don't don't talk all right, they don't gossip either.
-
Don't don't talk. Don't it's an useless one because she won't gossip you.
-
You you preserve. You stop the decay because they know they cannot they cannot
-
bring things to you and you won't and you won't indulge in it. So
-
you can be that preservative. Right, So it's flavor, just like I've
-
never I personally have never grilled steaks before, but I hear that if you
-
want to enjoy a good steak, please do not put so many things in
-
it. It's just the steak and a bit of salt, and apparently it's
-
very good. I think Andrew can make a good steak. Okay, so
-
a little bit so can't add so much flavor, and it causes us so,
-
you know, so tasty. How about our lives when we come into
-
a company and come into a school, into a community, do we ad
-
flavor? I hope we add good flavor. I hope people want to welcome
-
us. And are you an auntie coming you know right away or the uncle
-
coming or you know how we live methods? And now I want to encourage
-
us. If you haven't been smiling the last twenty four hour, smile,
-
have you been so weight down, like so upset or just tired? You
-
know what great exercise smile. Your smile as beautiful as yours, can turn
-
something around. It's so hard to smile, really it is. Sometimes I
-
don't think I'm smiling ladies in my home la my husband annoys me. I'm
-
not going to smile at you. But but but we practice that right.
-
We learned to suit that. Wherever we are, there's always something to smile
-
about because God is good. Amen. So that's your salt, that's your
-
flavor. And light Okay. Light is about shining before men shine, you
-
know, not too out there to boast it is. It's a humility.
-
Christ shone so brightly, and we are followers of Christ. He just shone.
-
He just shone. But it wasn't because he was proud. He was
-
He walked in humility. So your humility shines, your generosity shines, your
-
friendliness shines, and people are drawn to you. Okay, As I was
-
saying to the earlier service, my husband annoys me because he smiles at everyone.
-
I'm like, why are you smiling a delitylady, But there's He always
-
says, you need to be kind to people. People don't deserve bad treatment,
-
nobody deserves. Always be kind to people, and they will remember you
-
because of your kindness and your gentleness. And it gets him places. He
-
does, it does right because of the kindness. He makes friends. He
-
makes friends. He tries his best to not be rude to people or you
-
know, make put people down. And so your light shines and people are
-
drawn to you. They remember you, remember you, whether you give them
-
a tip, whether you you know, say thank you or whether you say
-
sorry. It all matters. Although we don't think because if you don't know
-
the person, I don't know with someone you may have never met. But
-
if you were able, if you and I were just able to remember that
-
there are people too that don't deserve to be treated any less, then already
-
they are being not treated well. But when you walk in, you're the
-
salt and you're the light. And he I can see past doing that all
-
the time. I would get irritated, like say, with the with the
-
the security, the security, there's one at my mom's place, and then
-
I go so many times you can't recognize my face, you know, apala
-
no. When my husband goes why, everything goes yeah, yeah, yeah,
-
I remember you say you terrible. But he will speak. So I
-
needed a person that from the not smiling er the man and he was saying
-
good, right, good right, thank you so much? What say you
-
really are honey? Okay, So I think we can be we can naturally
-
and not basically we are naturally salt and l like you might think, oh,
-
you're forcing me. No, naturally, God has called us me salt
-
and like, amen, Why because when men see your works, they will
-
glorify God, your father. Amen. Well, so many things you could
-
be doing, and I want to say next church, you have conversational pieces
-
that you could have with your colleagues, your classmates, your schoolmates, your
-
family members. Why do I say that there's always something happening extius right now
-
and not a boring moment? Okay, you want to just fill your life
-
with something, join extchs. I know it's not your left to anythings.
-
I tell you where we're the You know you have one of the best opportunities
-
when you go back to work on Monday. We go back to school on
-
Monday. You know, then they go like, what did you do on
-
your weekend? And people go like, oh I rock climb la, Oh
-
I tried to pinangla over the weekend, or I did this, I did
-
that, I die fly, I went here, went there, And then
-
what do you say, Oh, I stayed at home and sleep. I
-
slept people's hobbies sleeping. I didn't know that. I really don't like to
-
sleep on like so much of life. How can you sleep right? So
-
like sleeping is my hobby. Come on, bro, no, Lah must
-
use the time sleep five hours enough? Ready? Okay, So then what
-
did you do? And then most of us should be able to if you
-
took it up? We said on Saturday, I went to this place with
-
the around our slip kids and we did English and we did math, and
-
we did I don't know, we played with them. There's so many things.
-
Oh, I went to Kampom Sires and I went to got yeah,
-
good Year card whatever, and we did this with the children, or we
-
took the children out for an excursion and we do that over every year.
-
And that's so much more enriching because it was a blessing to someone else.
-
You didn't just bless yourself. You didn't just consume it. You gave out.
-
And they're gonna say, my word, really wow, how can I
-
get involved? Serious? People actually want to get involved, and we open
-
it up sometimes to others. So we get Sunway students helping us, Tailor
-
College, Taylor's College also taking about a project with us, and they like
-
what we do. So I won't tell you, guys, don't despise your
-
Saturday morning going out to this place, that place, displace that place because
-
it's conversational starters about how you spent your weekend, and the weekend wasn't something
-
that was just for yourself. Out of four Saturdays, give one Saturday away
-
to somebody. Come on, come on three saturdays all yours again. You
-
can sleep the whole day, you can go fishing, you know, all
-
of yourself. But one Saturday that the homes go together, we can do
-
that. It's not every Saturday anyway, it's just one set day out of
-
the whole year, maybe two saturdays. But something you can do your light
-
was shine in your office. There'll be amazed. Wow, you get to
-
do that. And uh and we're not saved by good works, friends,
-
but we're saved four good works. Something we can do that will glorify our
-
father in heaven. A lot of people are excited about things that we do.
-
It could be anything. It could be a community event that we do.
-
It could be a youth event. Some of the youth leaders here those
-
we're young people first. Even what young people keep young for able right,
-
So when you do on Satday, oh we had our youth meetings or we
-
took our youth out for this is our friends will say what you spend your
-
time in all these teens, these little people that's a little men and women
-
in their teens, What did you do? And then we tell them what
-
we did? And all my friends go like, what you spend your weekend
-
with the young people? I say, yeah, guess what. You ain't
-
gonna get the looks that I get. All right, So if you're hurrymania
-
you were, we're young people won't get young people more more than thirty years.
-
So I still am twenty five, like you don't go eighteen? Really?
-
No? Yeah, okay, all right, So God, let God
-
be glorified to the works that you do, because what you do is out
-
of love from your heart. Honestly, I don't think anyone ever forss you.
-
If if you false, please don't do it. But I just want
-
you to know you are not, You were, not, you will be
-
You is? You is okay, you is? And you can shine and
-
you can add flavor somehow somewhere. Really, there's always an opportunity, whether
-
from church or you know, part of church, or or anything else that
-
God has put in your heart to do. Shine, Come on, shine,
-
do well in your work. If you're hired by some of your employed
-
please work properly. Don't come to the office late right now, sister.
-
If you are higher, how do you keep your your light? You must
-
be at work, not even on time, late earlier a bit earlier,
-
bit, and please don't come on time and eat breakfast in your office.
-
Still let the water cooler nine o'clock, work starts eating breakfast or my tims.
-
I'm not eating front of me, you know. I'm like, hey,
-
hello, it's nine and my work starts at nine fifteen. They're still
-
eating. Talking to me, Pasta, I said, excuse me, you
-
eating in front of me? You know, scarter? Sorry, Pasta.
-
I don't know why I was in there and become two friends ready, you
-
know, just like hell, everyy same same, some time making in front
-
of me? You know forgot. I'm also the boss paid a salary.
-
Yes, so ah, what's your light? Come to earlierler? Right,
-
don't leave first one to leave? Bye? I want to leave? No,
-
bye, give up? Be five minutes. Make sure everybody is okay,
-
say bye bye to your boss. Right. I worked secular before.
-
I'm not like I failed. That's why I went full time. Hello,
-
I fail, There's no full time. Hey, it works secular corporate before
-
leave, go say byeye to boss by Actually my boss leave first law,
-
So I hold the keys, Babe, hold the keys. So you know,
-
that's your testimony, that's your salt, that's your life. People miss
-
you when you leave your company. Those of you work long time. My
-
office missed me when I left this many years ago. Actually we miss her
-
Loe, And they got to miss you because your presence added value. Whatever,
-
it's your fun. You I bring the fund into my office or you
-
know, food, you always bring food. You're always uh, you know,
-
remember people's birthdays. All those are little things. I'm not asking you
-
to do more, and I'm just asking you to shine and not you even
-
say hey, you got there, Jesus or Jesus, No, not just
-
say that. So just shine and your life will share God's goodness. And
-
that's when they ask and you can tell what made the difference in your life.
-
God made the difference in my life. And I'm still learning friends.
-
So it's a reminder for me to to know how I carry myself. Be
-
aware of don't. Don't always in your own world and your face is like
-
nobody wants to be your friend kind of think because you're thinking so hard right,
-
Albert, all right, so you're all just okay, I wanna fight
-
any time now. No, No, their face must change and be better
-
so that you you flavor, all right, and you shine. So how
-
can we do this? You don't have to do this alone. And God
-
didn't leave you to do this alone when he said you are, you are
-
light. You are so he said, but x chapter one, verse eight,
-
and you know his ex church, we notice by heart. But you
-
shall receive, you shall receive after that, After you receive the power,
-
the power of the Holy Ghost comes upon you, you shall be witnesses unto
-
me, both in Jerusalem all Judea, and in some area and unto the
-
uttermost part of the earth. So praise God. God didn't just call you
-
you are. He also gave you his power. Amen. This is the
-
power. The word power of the Greek is dona miss. It has the
-
idea of a dynamo, and a dynamo causes energy to keep going. And
-
this is the dynamite power of the Holy Spirit. So that's where I changed
-
the song and go like babyd mad who Yeah. All seven days a week
-
Monday, Tuesday, and day to day Friday Sunday. Okay, all right,
-
oh shy, but you shall receive power, dynamite, dynamoe, power
-
in the Holy Spirit. So the least power is to the smallest. Are
-
the way Holy Spirit, the way Bible writes. Either you have power enough
-
to plan a church, that's what it means. You can planet church,
-
you can plan a small group, you can pray for someone. You can
-
be a witness as in light and salt in your office, in that hospital,
-
in that somewhere, like when I go to the hospital and my dad
-
was not well, or I have to hang around the hospital all the time.
-
And I know sometimes people get angry with the nurses, angry with this,
-
angry with that, and you route to the nurses. They don't deserve
-
that, And that's why they had to come up with them. The thing
-
that say, please don't shout at ournesss. They're just doing their job also
-
putting until the thing has to come out already. Please don't shout. And
-
when you are nice to them, they will help you. They will be
-
kind back to you as well. So I think that's where our light shines.
-
Nobody needs to ask you if you are of all of Christ. Let
-
them slowly discover what are you made of whatever. They will have to know
-
there has been an age and you don't have to do this alone. Holy
-
Spirit is with us. And try to remember Holy Spirit is with me when
-
we're out there. Last yesterday, our young people, the group of them,
-
they were supposed to go for bowling. That's what young people do,
-
bowling, all right, But they changed their mind and they decided they're gonna
-
do revel. They were going to pray, listen, obey to in the
-
mall Sunway mall, and they made poor Anti Clarissa drive them around. And
-
now they went on mister Diy, bought little note pets and they wrote,
-
they prayed, they said they prayed first and then they wrote messages, don't
-
know who they're gonna give it to, which Jesus loves you. And then
-
they went to by two I hope not one by one, two by two,
-
and they just ask God, who, who and whoever got led them
-
to they would give that love note and those brave ones which I'm not so
-
brave, they were like, can I pray for you? Or maybe they
-
talked to them. I'm not sure what they did, but they did.
-
They did pray for them, right, So they went out and did that
-
amazing, amazing. You don't know who they touched, whose life they touched,
-
or you know what, what difference does it make. It was just
-
a yellow sticky note and not you. I said yellow sticky, you know,
-
I didn't say dirty yellow ah. And the handwriting was ugly as well.
-
So but they went up to the person and they say, can I
-
give this? I don't know how, I don't know how to do this,
-
but two by two ay easier to do, and gave it a person,
-
ask a person, we could pray for them or talk to them,
-
and they and they just gave it with a daring word that says Jesus loves
-
you. Whoa blow me up? So that is also something where you can
-
salt in the you know, just be assault and lie in the mall.
-
So our young people could be bowling, eating ice cream, watching movies,
-
but our kids chose to go and bless somebody. They pray, they listen,
-
they obey. Okay, Lord, who what do I say? What
-
I write? Now? Walk and give it away? So yeah, amen,
-
praise the lie. I hope somebody's life was blessed yesterday. You will
-
received power to do that, to just walk up, rock up to someone
-
and go here, and sometimes people don't want it. Also they were like,
-
I don't want it, and that's fine, and then they find the
-
courage to go to the next person. And that's the power of the Holy
-
Spirit that comes in. It's maybe you're not a firework, maybe you're full
-
of the Holy Spirit. Amen, dynamite, dynamo, do not miss power
-
enough to plant a church injur Jerusalem right here or in Jurdy your next door.
-
This is the power Guy has given us. But we are not tapping
-
into you and I are not tapping in it enough to do that. We
-
we we feel like we're living in the flesh so much that we don't live
-
in the spirit. I think past has been preaching that, and okay,
-
I leave that preaching the pasta If we live in the flesh so much,
-
we forget there's a spirit of Holy Spirit working in us, living in us.
-
If you were all, if you and I will only step and walk
-
in the spirit. As we live in the spirit, we will experience the
-
supernatural. We will and sometimes we get glimpses of that in our lives and
-
then we forget it after that. But I would encourage us to keep going
-
and and just little bit by little bit, little bit is it? You're
-
you know, you're you're going You're doing your business. You're going about your
-
school, you're studies, you're going about connecting. Some people do sales here,
-
some people do others, your lecturer, maybe your business owner. You
-
know, every day you can just pray this prayer. You know, Lord,
-
how can I shine for you today? Give me an opportunity? What
-
can I Who can I flavor? I don't know? Give me an opportunities.
-
I forget to pray this, and so you forget to be when you
-
are in that place of you are, you are a state of being rather
-
than trying to be. You are my next light. You are? What
-
are you like in your circle of influence? Your oil costs the Greek word
-
for your fellowship, for the close connection. It's called oil costs the people
-
around you? So what is your What are you like in your circle of
-
influence? Do you influence people? Do you do they like you? Can
-
you can? Do you have friendships with them? When they're sick? Do
-
they remember that you can pray for them when they're stuck when the trouble?
-
Are you the first person they talk to? That would be your influence in
-
that circle of friends. I know, if you work on your personality,
-
you say, but my personality, I'm I'm a high S, I'm a
-
high I, I'm a high D, I'm a However, you know this
-
personality test, that's your personality, but that's not your character. Because you
-
are given the chance to be filled with the Holy Spirit, you can have
-
a God like god nurse, Christ like character. So you break out of
-
your own shell and you do something supernatural outside of your personality. Oh,
-
I'm very quiet personal. God can use quiet people. I tell you,
-
quiet people are very loud people. Their influence or hair putting, you know,
-
quieter, but wow, dynamite, especially when you partner with the Holy
-
Spirit and you can do something. So it's never a base on my personality.
-
Leave your personality behind the door when you walk out, and walk out
-
with the Christ's likeness, character of Christ in us. Why do we do
-
church? Come on, friends, We do church to hear God's word and
-
go out on Monday to Saturday to live it out. To make our Mondays
-
count. We make our Tuesdays count. We don't come here to warm the
-
seats and go back and be the same. We come here to be changed
-
every time I think that hear God's worth. If I'm not preaching listening faster
-
future anyone else, I have to go back and look at my notes and
-
the oh oops for God, and then reminder that I need to speak into
-
my situation. Having tough time, speak into my situation. Don't let the
-
situation push me down, or remember to be kind, or remember that you
-
know. Jesus says that all power and authority has been given to him,
-
and all things be under our feet. And why are we allowing those overwhelming
-
storms to overcome us? We are made more than overcome us. So Sunday
-
we take notes. People. We've forgotten the art of taking notes. We
-
rely on our short memory. I'm speaking like what my elder used to speak
-
to me, and I used to look at my elder. Elder, you
-
don't speak to me like it. My elders passed on already. But now
-
we remember. We used to take notes. We used to carry we used
-
to carry our bibles. We've now got handphones, but handphones are hard.
-
Sometimes this helps you a lot. I'm going for a campaign called by Yourself
-
a Bible. I'm trying to launch it one day soon. If pastor allows
-
me by a Bible. If you're a student, you carry your Bible proudly.
-
Then you put it on your table. Your class are your lecture.
-
Your friend asks you in your pa any b bloss sorry as an Italian word
-
for a book or something like that. All right, my Bible. This
-
is my Bible and I live whatever it says. It is about me in
-
here. You don't have to preach, but you leave it, but you
-
can share what is this? But we're too shy to carry a Bible because
-
it's all in our handphone. It's convenient, but it doesn't help you read
-
because the messages keep popping up there. You have to read Bible when the
-
messages my phon. Now everybody got my number right from tim baktu to you
-
know something like that, the messages from six am and starts reading. I
-
have to do quiet time five am and always saw my day is p already
-
everybody was my guys my number. It's very dangerous. Chesson number are I
-
ask you friends? You are? But did you know you are? If
-
you didn't read this love letter? You know it is? So? I
-
asked questions, what intentional character, substance do you seek to develop. I
-
don't have it. I'm not the most gentle person. Some people are gentle.
-
Speak all so gentle ask questions like what you are so got to develop?
-
Right a kindness or or speaks of the So what intentional character substance do
-
you seek to develop that you that you believe that it would be a blessing
-
because it's not you. Yeah, personality wise, we're not like. It
-
doesn't stop us from becoming christ Like. Amen, how can I be solved
-
tomorrow today? How can I shine? Question for you? Reflect? Friends?
-
We reflect so little, and therefore we never act on the word of
-
God we need. I don't reflect a lot either. They're like too busy
-
to reflect. But that's why we do quiet time. So there, when
-
you sit down quitely, there you can reflect. Oh Lord, I did
-
this yesterday, forgive me Jesus. Okay, Oh I need to remember to
-
call this person. So you are. I just have to emphasize there's no
-
this is not that I don't need to do it. You are? You
-
are? Amen? All right? Mahatma Gandhi once said sadly. He said,
-
I like your christ I do not like your Christian. Yeah, your
-
Christians are so unlike your Christ. Matma Gandhi lived a portion of his life
-
in the UK. He dressed up like an Englishman in a top hat suit.
-
But he saw the appetite, the appetite that means the how the white
-
people would treat slaves and then they were Christians, they would go to church.
-
He couldn't see the couldn't put it together, and so he never wanted
-
to receive Jesus, thinking that Jesus is a Western God, but he's not.
-
It's God for everyone. In fact, Jesus is Middle Eastern, not
-
even Western. Would someone look at us and then because of you, I
-
don't want to be a Christian? We gutt it I just if because of
-
me someone don't want to accept Christ, I need to change. I can't
-
change the past, but I need to change my future of how people see
-
me. Sadly, for him, he did not have to know. You
-
can get to know Christ. But that's another story for another day. Just
-
saying, possibly are we stopping someone because of my behavior. We can't run
-
away from this. This is jesus last commandment which needs to be our first
-
priority. Go therefore Matthew twenty eight, verse eighteen and verse nineteen to twenty.
-
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
-
of the Father's Son Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I
-
have commanded you. I have commanded you, And lo I am with you.
-
Look at that. I am with you always, even to the end
-
of age. Hallelujah. A man meaning he says, go therefore, last
-
words of Jesus. Any lawyers in the house, Any lawyers in the house,
-
what is not? No lawyers in house? Ye better not be lawyer,
-
because you should go full time mono. Yeah, just a lot of
-
lawyers are past is a lawyer, eld lawyer? I don't know who else?
-
Lawyer I forgot, I don't know. We are passive. Yeah,
-
so love of our lawyers become food time calling of God. I don't know,
-
really know the law? Uh? Where was I? Okay? Then
-
go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of
-
Father. Go therefore, it is not sunny. You go and Moses stays
-
behind. Yeah, it's not you know, Cynthia, Go and you know,
-
come and you say, no. He spoke to all of us,
-
and yet Christians from centuries leave this scripture out and think it's just for the
-
missionaries. It ain't just for the missionaries. And they're not supposed to be
-
missionaries in the first place. They're just to be all of us going on
-
a mission. That mission could be here and also cross culture at the same
-
time, crossing to bring the good news. Somebody brought the good news here
-
because they came to make disciples, to baptizers, so we don't run away.
-
See, this has got commandment for us. We have We have a
-
we have to say the word. If you if you ever felt like nobody
-
loves me, everybody hates me, I'm gonna eat some worms. This one.
-
God loves you. So ione call your name. You go, you
-
go, I'll employ you. I'll employ you. Nobody wants to employ you.
-
I'll employ you. Go and make disciples. It's for all of us
-
to answer this. This for all of us to be the salt and light
-
and to make disciples of all nations. And then we need to remember to
-
baptize them. Comes we baptized, and we've been baptizing so many in all
-
our plans across the globe. Baptize them and then to teach them to observe
-
all that Jesus has taught you or that you've learned with you from church or
-
from your leaders. You you teach so that people then can continue doing the
-
job. So then my question is question is are we disciples? Are you
-
discipled? Have you been discipled? Do you want to be discipled? Because
-
in John chapter fifteen, Jesus says, they will know that you are my
-
disciples when you love one another. But so a few times we love one
-
another. So are we disciples? It's important to know that are we disciples
-
of Jesus Christ? Are we, you know, learning from from someone?
-
Do we do do? Are we discipled? Are we observing practicing what he
-
has commanded us? Then we can teach others if we are not practicing,
-
observed or observing what he has commanded, And then I cannot teach because you
-
can't tell someone to do quiet time. If you are not doing quiet time,
-
you have no conviction. You will be teaching it by the book.
-
You will not be teaching out of your life to say, yes, my
-
great time is like this. I do it fifteen minutes, I do it
-
thirty minutes. I read first. Sometimes I only break. I'm just lost
-
in prayer I'm just bringing tongues, I'm just worshiping. You can say,
-
but if we never practice it, then you cannot pass it on. If
-
you've never been kind, very hard to teach people to be kind. If
-
you ever forgive, you cannot teach people to forgive. So Jesus says,
-
I've taught you this, Now you teach others. We are. We teach
-
as we have observed and practiced all encourages. We can, Yes we can,
-
Mister Barack Obama does not own Yes we can. We can. In
-
Christ we can, but we must remember Holy Spirit is our teacher and our
-
guide. Amen. We are we We teach as we have observed and practiced.
-
So in our Questian walk, can I just say to ours friends,
-
there's no such term as I've been there, done that attitude. I used
-
to disciple, I used to go to church, I used to serve.
-
No, it's I am I E is I still serve. I still learning.
-
I am still learning. I can still. There's no retirement. You
-
can retire from a job, but you never retire being a child of God.
-
You never retire from serving the Lord. We never warm the pews.
-
We're always ready, in and out of season. Serve the Lord. We
-
should never never hang up our fighting gloves and say it's over. No,
-
it ain't over till it's over. And that's when we see Jesus. So
-
I say to us, we are salt and light Church. How many salt
-
in light I have here in the house. Come on, amen, don't
-
be shy, don't be shy. We don't have courage. We ask God
-
for courage, to really allow him to love through us, work through us,
-
care through us, walk to that person through us, because we are
-
sought and light. If all are going to know, if all that all
-
may know, then the Lord will need all of us to be involved,
-
not just you know, one or two of us, not just one,
-
not to all of us will count in shining the light, in flavoring the
-
people around us, in teaching what we have learned, and we teach others,
-
in learning to exercise the fruit of the spirit, learning to you know,
-
live the Matthew chapter five. Before we come to sort and light,
-
you will see the beattitudes. It's for us to live. Actually, God
-
has commanded all these things for us. So I've gone back because I want
-
this way for us. Nowaday, I'll teach him talk about be attitudes.
-
But he has already called us. So don't feel like it's for somebody else.
-
Tell your neighbor she's talking about you. Tell your neighbor she's talking about
-
you. All right, You're not talking about someone else. You. You
-
are the salt, you are the light. There's no one else. He's
-
not my neighbor, it's not my husband, but me, me, I
-
have to carry this. Amen. So God's grace is on our lives.
-
Friends. And I tell you we serve a very good God, good good
-
father, who loves us, who loves us, and he empowers us.
-
He doesn't call us and then he leaves you alone. Now killer you do
-
what? No, He actually gives you the tools. He brings people around
-
you. He orchestrates opportunities for us to say yes, yes we can amen.
-
He lets you think about ideas to reach your friend, to be your
-
friend, to be a friend a friend, to find out, Oh,
-
there's a very difficult situation. God, how there's prayer, prayer. The
-
all time thing to do is to pray. Now, ask the Lord to
-
help me in my weakness, to help me overcome that situation where we've forgotten
-
to pray. We've forgotten to humble ourselves and ask for help from the Lord.
-
Sometimes we forgot. I just feel we forgot, you know, like
-
also caught out and we forgot. So I'm here as your reminder. I'm
-
your untegity, reminding you, okay, that we can do this and no
-
one is left out from everyone counts right to the end. As I say,
-
I'm very proud my dad. He served a lot all the way until
-
he passed on, right Steven, I think he was shaking hands on that
-
last Sunday and then he passed on. I didn't even know what my dad
-
did in church. I wasn't involved with him there. He's own church.
-
But to serve God at eighty three to want to go to church after the
-
pandemic, How many of you were rushing to church after the pandemic. No,
-
but this eighty three old man couldn't wait to go to church and to
-
serve as a host. And if he could go to prison ministry, which
-
is his heart, to minister to the prisoners. He was just waiting.
-
So he was practicing his guitar every day. He plays beautiful. He's a
-
Spanish guitar player. Used to have a band, but then he hurt himself
-
so he couldn't play a Spanish guitar. But now he just plays guitar.
-
He will practice and practice and practice, waiting to go back to prison.
-
Ministry not to go to prison, but the surfeit prison, and he just
-
waited. It was very sad when they said, you know, you can't
-
go. They couldn't take so many people, very very sad. And for
-
him, if I can't serve the Lord, if I can't shine, if
-
I can't be salt, then what's the point? I should go home?
-
And so I want to say to us, God gives us the opportunity,
-
you just need to choose. You can take it. Salt and light.
-
We are, come on, we are, and we're all not there yet.
-
So I'm not saying like we're all perfect, but we are all in
-
a working progress. We're all learning well, falling down and getting up again
-
and then being inspired by someone else and then you are inspired and you do
-
it. You know, like wow, I never thought that this could be
-
done. Oh, I didn't know I could approach this person like this or
-
ideas come when we get together and we hear our testimonies, amen, so
-
we get inspired that we are and we can't do this. We can do
-
this either together two by two, or pray for me so that I can
-
speak to my cousin who doesn't know Jesus yet. Really, ultimately, you
-
can do everything, friends, but if you do not obey what God has
-
asked us to do, you have not obeyed God at all at all,
-
because that all He says to us is last commandment, Go, make disciples
-
of all nations, go and bless Amen. And so not the easiest because
-
we're so used to our flesh, we don't know how to yield to the
-
spirit. So the yielding of the spirit is to let go and surrender and
-
yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, so the Holy Spirit can work in us
-
build christ likeness as we begin to interact with people, and then we notice,
-
oh, I don't have that. I need to build that. I'm
-
too short temper, I'm too impatient. I can grow this, I believe
-
because Jesus lives in us, so the fruit will come forth. But then
-
we might be challenged, but it's okay, take it up and ask a
-
lot to help us. Amen. So friends, you are assaults and light.
-
Amen, You're not tasteless. People. The most tastiest people in the
-
world. Jesus people. Yeah, you have taste, you have flavor,
-
you have light. You're never in darkness. The Lord is your light.
-
Amen. He clothes you with his light. Amen. We hope you've been
-
blessed by this message. For more information on our church, please visit as
