  1. You're listening to a message to go from axt church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day today. Actually, I was doing a series in

  3. Klang on purpose. You know, all of us want to know what's our

  4. purpose. If you go into a bookshop, one of the biggest genre of

  5. books is self help books. Right, everyone wants self help books. Everyone

  6. wants to know what's my purpose? Why am I here on earth for?

  7. And stuff like that. So today's sermon, right, it will be one

  8. part of that purpose series. Okay, So let me just bring up my

  9. first slide. Right, So you have a plan, okay, and you

  10. have your reality. I think if you are on Facebook and stuff like,

  11. I would have seen this meme. How many of y'all? Right, your

  12. plan looks like the above. Right, all of us have a very very

  13. good plan. We write it in our planner. You know it looks awesome

  14. first, uh, most of us? Okay, you you probably think you

  15. you're born, you go to school, you go to college, you graduate,

  16. you get a good job, you marry your wife, hot wife,

  17. and then you get kids, and then you uh do well, and then

  18. after that you retire and you live happily away after and then go back to

  19. heaven. You know, that's your plan or that's or some of us we

  20. had a plan today. You know, when you wake up in the morning,

  21. you have a plan. If you don't have a plan, the plan,

  22. the day become the day dictates your plan for you. And you know

  23. that most of the time, uh, it does not go according to plan.

  24. Right, how many of y'all your plan has always gone according to plan?

  25. None? Okay, then I am in good hands because my plans also

  26. have never gone according to plan. So I'm right wondering. So I actually,

  27. why do we plan if our plans are not going according to plan?

  28. Why do we need to plan? Right? But in actual fact, our

  29. days are numbered? Right? We have to be good stewards of what God

  30. has given to us, be it time, be it talent, be money,

  31. whatever it is. We have to be good Stuwards. And to be

  32. good Stuwards, you have to plan right. Imagine right, you go,

  33. how many of y'all are have done a bit of investing before? You've done

  34. a bit of investing before? Okay, it might be property, or you

  35. may have put it in stash away, or you put it into crypto,

  36. whatever it is, right, So when you put it there, right,

  37. you are expecting. You have a plan for your money. You have a

  38. plan for your money. And look here Philip is laughing. Love. People

  39. have a plan for the money. Wake up. One day right, the

  40. market crash, you know, crypto crypto especially have a plan. It's going

  41. to the moon. It's going to the moon. One hundred USD one hundred

  42. is going to hit. Right, you have a plan for that. And

  43. one day, right you wake up, palm, it is fifty percent.

  44. Then like, okay, don't worry, it'll be okay. Next day you

  45. wake up, it's twenty five percent the value. And then after that now

  46. it's like, oh man, I don't know what happened to my money.

  47. I had a plan, but the plan failed, right, and the same

  48. goes in line with our purpose. Okay, we have a plan for our

  49. life and we know that God has a plan for our life. Right,

  50. it is a good plan. God does not make mistakes. He has made

  51. us acclauding to his plans and purposes. So every talent, every gifting that

  52. you have where you are right now, even sitting here listening to this,

  53. God has a plan for that, right, and it is in line with

  54. his overarching plan for your life. Okay, So what happens when things don't

  55. go according to plant? You know? So you have your dips. You

  56. know, you have your dips. You dip and then you come out of

  57. it. So you have a lot of peaks and valleys, right, you

  58. have a lot of pigs and valleys. And how many of us have come

  59. out of peaks, come out of pits, come out of valleys? Loud,

  60. I'm confusing myself using too many How many of us have come out of

  61. valleys before? Right, So pat yourself on the back. You have come

  62. out of valleys before. You will come out of valleys in the future,

  63. Right, you will, because none of us I can safely say, right,

  64. everyone has come out of a value before. It means you are an

  65. overcomer. You are an overcomer. And when you come out of your valley

  66. and you go up to a peak, right, you are progressing. Right.

  67. When when you are progressing you come you will face different challenges? Right,

  68. So they say, right, the higher, the higher the level,

  69. the bigger the devil. You know, you play a game, right,

  70. you play a game, each boss becomes harder. Nobody if my kids,

  71. I give you a gamer, it's too easier. They're like, this is

  72. boring. You know this, say it's boring, but how come right,

  73. we do not have that sign that kind of approach to life. When a

  74. new challenge comes, we say, wow, bring it on, God,

  75. you have brought it. You have brought me before through the valley of the

  76. shadow of that I will fear no evil. So I am sure this current

  77. value that I'm going through you will bring me through again. Right, So

  78. we know that in games, we know that in different scenarios, how many

  79. of us right we finish our I'm trying to think of the exam. There's

  80. no more ups R there ups or PMR or SBM. That's how old I

  81. am. Okay, okay. We we went through those challenges and then we

  82. went up a level. If my kid came to me and say, hey,

  83. stand, no one is stuff, I think I'll stay here for life,

  84. It's not gonna happen. Right, you have to progress. Okay.

  85. So today the angle that I'm coming from, right is when you are in

  86. the valley, When you are in the valley and you are at your lowest,

  87. right, how do you feel? How do you feel? Because how

  88. you feel dictates what you speak. Right, and usually in the valley,

  89. right, what do you speak? What are the words that come out of

  90. your mouth? Should I? I don't know how? Where is God?

  91. I have no idea? Why is this happening to me? And all this

  92. alleged? You know, all this alleged. So the title of today's sermon

  93. is next suspense. Suspense is killing me? Okay, I give you all

  94. the title. I mean a valley right now, coming out to the Okay.

  95. So the title is watch what you say, Watch what you say much?

  96. I'm real, calm down right, timing, all right, So watch

  97. what you say? And why do we have to do this? Right?

  98. Can you imagine actually just driving here right just now? I was pondering on

  99. the title. Right, most of us do not watch what we say.

  100. And I mean that literally, you know, right, because if if you

  101. type out everything that you're going to say, you're actually seeing what you're saying.

  102. And then when you see what you say the backspace. I think I

  103. shouldn't say that, But this is what we need to do. We need

  104. to watch what we say, especially in the valley, especially in the pit,

  105. because that is where we are at our lowest. All right. So

  106. the scripture for today, next verse, next line, So James one,

  107. my dear brothers and sisters, take note of this. Everyone should be quick

  108. to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because human

  109. anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of

  110. all moral filth and and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept

  111. the word planted in you which can save you. Okay, So this is

  112. the worse, So turn to your neighbor, or you can just say it

  113. out loud. Quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

  114. Again, quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. Okay,

  115. So this is what James said, right, And you know James right,

  116. you have to take him seriously. You know why not? He is

  117. the brother of Jesus. James is the brother of Jesus. So all right,

  118. when doing a bit of research, you know that you don't hear much

  119. about James until after jesus Resurrection. You hear him more in the Book of

  120. Acts onwards. And then I was, I mean, one one of the

  121. persons that was listening to right, He was saying that it probably could be

  122. the reason. Why is that? What would you do if your brother comes

  123. to tell comes and tells you that I am the Lord, your God?

  124. What what would how would James respond? James like, yeah, right,

  125. then give him a knock or something, you know. So maybe James didn't

  126. take him seriously at first, probably, But when your brother dies and resurrects

  127. and performs miracle after miracle he resurrected the dead, James had no choice but

  128. to believe that his brother Jesus is the Messiah. So you know, there

  129. is a lot of weight in what James has to say because he is fully

  130. convinced that Jesus Christ is Lord. And if you read a book of James

  131. right, it is actually a short book. It's about you can probably read

  132. it within half an hour, but it is straight shooting. It's a very

  133. straight shooting book. So when you see here, he says, quick to

  134. listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. So this is the approach

  135. that we need to take during our value period. All right, So the

  136. first point, there are three points today, So what do we need to

  137. do? The first thing? Quick to listen? So how are we supposed

  138. to be quick to listen? Have you thought about it? Quick to listen

  139. listening comes automatically. You cannot turn off your year and you cannot turn it

  140. off. So what doesn't mean by quick to listen? Right? So you

  141. may be hearing, but are you listening? You may be hearing, but

  142. are you listening? Because a lot of times when we hear, we listen

  143. to respond because somebody says something, I'm like, I'm listening so that I

  144. can come in and have my say as well. Okay, next light,

  145. So I highlighted it here. Everyone should be quick to listen. So who

  146. should be quick to listen? Everyone? So can you imagine if everyone is

  147. quick to listen, who is quick to speak? No one? And if

  148. no one is quick to speak, can you imagine how many arguments could have

  149. been solved if everyone is quick to listen. So most of the times when

  150. we are in the valley, right, it is one of the major reasons

  151. is because of our conflicts with others. This is not it's not the whole

  152. reason, but one of the main reasons. No man is an island,

  153. right, and we have mismatch of expectations. My plan was this, but

  154. your plan was different, and then because of that I had to take two

  155. steps back, right, So, and conflicts happen, and that's what causes

  156. us our plans to go awary. So when everyone is quick to listen,

  157. slow to speak, slow to become anger angry, this is one of the

  158. key tools for us to get out of the valley victoriously and to move forward.

  159. Okay, let's go to the next line. So what is Proverbs eighteen

  160. say, the heart of the discerning acquires knowledge. The years of the wise

  161. seek it out. I read it out again, right, the heart of

  162. the discerning acquires knowledge. The years of the wise seek it out. So

  163. you can see right, the years of the wise seek it out. If

  164. something is not going according to plan, Oh, God, you said this,

  165. why is this happening? Most of the time, right, we will

  166. be asking God first, why why? Why? Why? Why? Why

  167. why? Instead of if we take a step back and then we say we

  168. are quick to listen and say, God, what are you trying to teach

  169. me here? Why? What am I going to learn through this? You

  170. have brought me from a previous valley? Why do we have testimonyes? Testimonies

  171. were testings which God came true for us, which results in testimonies. He

  172. has done it before, he will do it again. So when we are

  173. when we continue the mature, we are quick to listen, God will reveal

  174. his plans and purposes to us. Okay, next uh, next line.

  175. All right, So everything that everyone does, says, or believes makes perfect

  176. sense to them. Is this true? You see it? Right? Like

  177. right now? The whole thing that's happening in the Middle East. You ask

  178. anyone, everyone has a point of you and everyone everyone's point of view is

  179. right to them. And that's why they respond or react or say or type

  180. what they do because everything that everyone does, says and believes makes perfect sense

  181. to them. So this is something that we have to understand. They are

  182. not purposely going against me. There is something that they believe. There is

  183. something that they why they are doing this is because of their belief, because

  184. of their experience, what they went through. So then leads us to the

  185. next question. Okay, next life, and you get very annoyed. You

  186. get very annoyed, and you will tell I don't know why this person did

  187. this. I have no idea why this person says this. I have no

  188. idea. How can they believe this? It doesn't make sense. Okay,

  189. have you used this phrase before? I have? Right, But in this

  190. phrase, right, who needs the education? Who needs the education? Because

  191. he says here, I don't know. I don't know, so what do

  192. I need to do? I need to find out. Just because I don't

  193. know doesn't mean they are wrong. Just because I don't know it doesn't make

  194. sense to me, doesn't mean that I'm always in the right. So if

  195. someone has a different point of view and conflict, be quick to listen.

  196. Only when we are quick to listen, we are understanding the person's point of

  197. view. Because if you are quick to speak what happens nothing, you will

  198. stay your conflict. So why do wars happen? Wars start from words?

  199. You know, every war starts from words. Where two people have different point

  200. of view and they keep on there is disagreement, it escalates and it becomes

  201. a war. There's continuous escalation until it becomes a war. So when you

  202. catch yourself and when you are in a valley right and you are facing challenges

  203. with people and people don't see your way or you can't see their way,

  204. and you find yourself asking this question, I don't understand. I have no

  205. idea why they're acting like this. This is when, as James says,

  206. we have to be quick to listen. All right, So how many of

  207. y'all. You know this famous book, the Seven Habits for Highly Effective People,

  208. right next light. So one of the habits seek first to understand,

  209. then to be understood. Understand people first. Only when you understand, then

  210. you can sort of know where they're coming from, and then you can talk

  211. to them in such a way that, okay, this is why I think

  212. this way, and then you can come to a sort of resolution. So

  213. do you know this? Have you all played with this? Team? Can

  214. with the string? Okay, so how do you use it? One person

  215. will put it at the year, one person will speak. What happens if

  216. both speak? No one is listening, nothing happens. There's this misunderstanding,

  217. there's miscommunication. No one goes anywhere, there is no progress. So if

  218. we want people to understand us, we first understand take the effort to understand

  219. them. Right, got that? So first point again is what quick too

  220. listen? Okay? So now my second point, So the second point is

  221. what do we need to stop? We need to stop being quick to speak

  222. and quick to anger. Right, have you been triggered before? Have you

  223. been triggered before? Very easy? If you haven't been triggered before, it's

  224. amazing, it's amazing in this time and age. Right, anything can trigger

  225. you. You go on Facebook can be triggered. I tell your most interesting

  226. thing, right is not to read the Facebook post. You know, you

  227. read the comments. Comments are more interesting. You know. Some one person

  228. posts something this, yeah, and then within second people are responding. Everyone

  229. is quick to speak, quick to speak everyone, and you see, right,

  230. So as part of my job, right, I do customer experience,

  231. right, And you know you want your brand to have social media presence and

  232. all this stuff. So it's very ironic, right that for example, you

  233. you choose, say McDonald's, like, okay, either McDonald's or whatever it

  234. is, whatever restaurant you choose, you go and like the Facebook page.

  235. Why do you like the Facebook page? Why do you like a restaurant or

  236. a place most of the time? Right, you like the page because you

  237. dislike them. Now you go there and spam. You know, I had

  238. a bad experience here. It was horrible, blah blah blah. But you

  239. before you tell them that you have to go and like the page, you

  240. know. And it's quite ironic, so everyone right once to give everyone a

  241. piece of their mind, you know. So let's see what James says,

  242. right, so slow to speak, slow to become angry. Do you have

  243. an anger management problem? You know how you solve it? Zip up,

  244. slow to speak, quick to listen, and then your anger you will be

  245. able to manage your anger better. Right, so let me bring us to

  246. the next slide. Proverbs eighteen. So just now there was a verse from

  247. Proverbs eighteen about listening. This one is about speaking full Proverbs eighteen. Fools

  248. find no pleasure in understanding, but delight in airing their own opinions. Like,

  249. wow, this is in the Bible. This is in the Bible.

  250. I felt that it should be like one of the rules when you sign up

  251. for Facebook. This is agree you know, But this is what the Bible

  252. says. Fools find no pleasure in understanding, but delight in airing their own

  253. opinions. I don't care what you think, but what I think is this,

  254. you know, So everyone has their own version of the truth right now,

  255. right, we are living in a time where there are no more absolutes.

  256. Last time, it's very clear, it was quite funny. So I

  257. was you all know that the song every Levin uh skater boy skate boy by

  258. Averill Levin, old school song. Right, so the One of the lyrics

  259. of the song right was He's just a boy, She's just a girl.

  260. Can it be any more obvious? I think right now cannot not obvious already?

  261. You know, we are living in that kind of stage right where everyone

  262. can identify to be anything. And I don't care what you say. What

  263. I believe is this. What I believe is this, What I say is

  264. this, And you don't bother to understand people. So it's the same thing

  265. that happens. It feels like everyone is speaking, speaking through the tin cans,

  266. and no one is listening. So there's a lot of noise, and

  267. noise causes conflicts, causes anger to arise. I tell you, there is

  268. so much anger in the world right now. There is so much anger in

  269. the world right now. Everyone has an opinion, and because of that,

  270. if people don't agree with their opinion, they get angry and the event they

  271. take frustration. Right, So you say, easier fools find no pleasure in

  272. understanding, but delight in airing their own opinions. So remember that the next

  273. time when we are we are triggered or one to respond or react, not

  274. respond, but most of our time react. We react. When we respond,

  275. it takes effort. We formulate our response, but when we react,

  276. it's very triggered. We are triggered, and this is how I react.

  277. Okay, Next one probabs tand sin is not ended by multiplying words, but

  278. the prudent hold their tongue. So out talking someone is not the way.

  279. Just because you can argue and shut people down with your words. Sin is

  280. not ended by the multiplying of words, but the prudent hold their tongue.

  281. Why do they hold their tongue because they are quick to listen, and that

  282. is how we should respond. Okay, next slide. Okay, So Proverbs

  283. fourteen twenty nine. Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is

  284. quick tempered displays folly. What is folly? Folly is another word for foolishness?

  285. So why do I put this picture? If you have a kid,

  286. right, you will have experienced this one way or another every day all day.

  287. I don't know. It depends on what side of the baby. Wake

  288. up on that. Okay, So kids throw tantrum right spouse to dangerous,

  289. But I'll be quick to listen, quick to listen. But why do kids

  290. throw tantrum because they are not getting things? Their way. When they are

  291. not getting things their way, they react, They react and they try and

  292. argue or they scream, they shout, they multiply their words and you know,

  293. funny enough, right, it doesn't stop with kids when we multiply our

  294. words and because we are not getting our way, essentially we are throwing tantrums.

  295. And when we are throwing tantrums, right, it says a quick tempered

  296. person displays foolishness folly when we are throwing tantrum. When a kid throws tantrum,

  297. right, he doesn't get his way. I know, a good parent,

  298. right, will never negotiate with terrorists, you know, So sometimes the

  299. kids act like terrorists. You know, they try to, but they will

  300. never get their way in So, why is it that we, when we

  301. are adults, we think that by using harsh words, by cutting people down,

  302. we can get away. By out talking someone, we can get away.

  303. That's why it says here slow to speak, okay, next, so

  304. slow to anger. It's both a decision and a result. Think about it.

  305. You don't choose to be slow to anger in the moment. You have

  306. to decide beforehand. You know, you have to decide beforehand because in the

  307. heat of the moment. It is very difficult to control. But if we

  308. decide beforehand, slow today, I will be slow to anger, slow to

  309. speak, slow to anger. Then it is a decision and when you decided,

  310. then there will be a result. Okay, have you all been in

  311. a car accident before? Yay? Somebody knocked you? Okay, somebody knocked

  312. you. You get out of the car, right, what do you do?

  313. Huh? Okay, you check your car face and then and then what

  314. you do? Call husband? Okay, take photo and I see. Okay,

  315. before you take photo and I see, you have to talk to them

  316. first, right, So how do you How do you talk to the person

  317. who has seen you? Remember, slow to anger is a decision, so

  318. you can't choose because right, you can come out of the car like,

  319. hey, you blinder, why is this? How come you? How come

  320. you come in here? You know, and gets so angry and worked up?

  321. How do you think the other person will react? Yeah, the other

  322. person will get defensive. And when you're pushed into a corner, it's fight

  323. or flight, right, So it depends if they are way of dealing with

  324. When pushed into a corner is fight. That's what results in road rage.

  325. But what is the best way. So imagine, right, someone knocks your

  326. car, You get out of the car, you check your car okay,

  327. and then after that, right, you go to the person, hey,

  328. are you okay? It diffuses the whole situation. You find out from that

  329. person are you okay? And the person will be caught back up. It

  330. will be probably really like, hey, how come I knock his guy?

  331. And then he's asking you that I'm doing okay? And then from there his

  332. defenses are down. And then you are able to communicate someone wants to listen

  333. to my side of the story and not accuse me, And then because of

  334. that I can communicate well. And that's how you get out of the valley.

  335. So for example, right, that car accident right could be a value

  336. moment. How you get out of that value right? It depends on how

  337. quick you are to listen, how slow you are to speak and slow to

  338. anger? Right. Next, so it says here because why slow to anger?

  339. Right? So James one says here because human anger does not produce the

  340. righteousness that God desires. There is godly anger and there's human anger. So

  341. you say, it's my right to be angry. I have a right to

  342. be angry. If everyone has a right to be angry, you will live

  343. in an angry world, you know. So what is what is righteousness?

  344. You know it's easier, right, The human anger does not produce the righteousness

  345. that God desires? But what is righteousness? So I wanted to also understand

  346. it? Right, make it a bit more easier for me to understand.

  347. So righteousness of God the divine attribute that describes God as acting always in a

  348. way that is consistent with his own character. That is righteousness of God.

  349. So if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior, you

  350. are called a Christian? Right shadoh God, I mean in your a gamma,

  351. you will put that Christian? What is a Christian? Little Christ?

  352. If you are little Christ? Is your character consistent with God? That is

  353. what righteousness is? Is my character consistent with who God is? Because human

  354. anger does not produce that. Human anger does not produce that. So if

  355. I want to become more and more like Jesus, I have to be slow

  356. to anger. Got that all right? So you said quick to listen,

  357. slow to splait, slow to anger, right, So you got all this

  358. titling right, And I'm like Okay, now I know how to manipulate the

  359. conversation and convince the other person is that the goal. That is not the

  360. goal. You may win, you may get things to go your way if

  361. you are if you can communicate masterfully, but that is not the goal.

  362. You know the goal. Next line, there are three agendas in a conflict.

  363. There is my agenda, there is your agenda, and there's God's agen

  364. So when we are quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger,

  365. right, it's not to convince people that my agenda is the right way.

  366. We need to say what is God's agenda? What is God's agenda in

  367. this circumstance, in this situation, God, what do you want me to

  368. do? You know? If not, it is manipulation, and manipulation is

  369. not from God. All right, Next, so don't settle for being right,

  370. make things right, don't attack the person. A lot of times right

  371. when we are in this agreement, right, we go below the belt one

  372. we were cut the person down. What is canceled culture? You know we

  373. are living in a world where it cancel culture. Right, What is canceled

  374. culture? I don't agree with you, so I cancel you. You are

  375. dead to me? But is that God's way. Jesus came into a world

  376. where everyone was against him, and who flocked to Jesus people who uh that

  377. the churches right now sadly are not very welcoming to you know, the people

  378. that flocked to Jesus were tax collectors, There were prostitutes, there were all

  379. all of them were non believers. They were not Most of them were not

  380. scholars, pharisees or that you sees. There were people who are out there

  381. because God's agenda was not to come and say that, hey, this is

  382. my way, follow my way. God came down to earth to make things

  383. right with God and men was the false spiritual laws. No man has fallen

  384. shot. God came down and he restored us, restored the relationship. So

  385. God values the relationships over opinions. Do we value our relationships with people over

  386. our opinions? Because right, like, honestly, the cancel culture right is

  387. really toxic. You have no idea who this person is, but you can

  388. just cut them off or white the mouth just because of what they say or

  389. what they believe in. Right next, the longer we listen, the more

  390. we learn, the less angry we become. Because when we listen and we

  391. understand where this person is coming from. And slowly we'll come to that.

  392. Oh, no wonder, no wonder, this person is responding this way or

  393. reacting this way. No wonder he says this or believe this. And once

  394. we understand, we become less angry. So seek first to understand, then

  395. to be understood. Right, Okay, y'all are like quick to listen,

  396. Yeah, so slow to speak. I'm not sure what it's a good thing

  397. or a bad thing here. You can be quick to speak because okay,

  398. okay, all right? And final point, final point. So the first

  399. one is what do we need to start quick to listen? What do we

  400. need to stop being quick to speak, quick to anger? Third point,

  401. how do we do? So? We have to get rid of filth and

  402. humbly accept the word. Okay, So next slide James one. Therefore,

  403. get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and

  404. humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. So what

  405. is moral filth? Right now? Right? Anything of the world is moral

  406. filth? I was sharing previously in klank. I was saying that y'all took

  407. moral in SPM and you know, you had the eighteen Nili. You had

  408. to memorize the eighteen nila. You have to write it exactly that way.

  409. You know, right now right, how many of that eighteen nilai right is

  410. actually been exercised in the world today. Actually, the value of moral right

  411. it has degraded. There is no like what I said. There is no

  412. more absolutes. This is my truth and Christianity right or Jesus right. Jesus

  413. is absolute. I am the Way, the truth and the life. No

  414. one comes to the Father except through me, you know, and right now

  415. right, just by saying that Christians are deemed saying hate speech because we are

  416. not being inclusive and not about diversity. But that is not the case.

  417. Jesus came that all may be saved, you know. But you can see

  418. right that the enemy is out too perverse and to confuse us. So you

  419. know what the technique, the trick of the devil to confuse us. He

  420. just has to get us to doubt that God is good. He did that

  421. in the garden of Eden. He did that from the start of time.

  422. Did God really say, you know, so, if we are not careful

  423. and if we are feeding ourselves from the world instead of the word. We

  424. will slowly become more and more of the world. So that's why it says

  425. he get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent.

  426. Evil is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you are we

  427. planting the word of God in our lives. If we are planting the word

  428. of God in our lives, it will be so much more easier to be

  429. quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. If we are

  430. planting moral filth in our lives, we will be quick to speak, quick

  431. to anger, slow to listen. And this is what God has told us.

  432. Right, So whenever we are going through the valley and we're going through

  433. different challenges, especially with different people, know what James says, be quick

  434. to listen. Let's all say it together. Quick to listen, slow to

  435. speak, slow to anger. All right. I just wanted to share a

  436. story, all right, So the last slide right, So this is a

  437. story. Even as I was preparing for this sermon, right a couple of

  438. weeks back. So on the drive back, I was listening to a Christian

  439. radio station, and then this collar called up and wanted to share his testimony,

  440. and I thought, wow, this is such a powerful testimony that is

  441. in line with with what God has been speaking to me. So there's this

  442. guy. He is I think he's probably middle aged, fifties, plast like

  443. that, right, he's a grumpy guy la by his own admittance, he

  444. said he's grumpy. Everyone in this neighborhood is like scared of him, and

  445. he never smiles, always gets angry. So whenever he when he described that,

  446. right, I just remember the guy from up, remember the guy from

  447. up again. So that's how I picture him, very angry, all the

  448. kids scared of him and stuff. So as he was walking home, he

  449. passed by this lemonade storm and this girl selling a lemonade. Okay, so

  450. the girl said in lemonade twenty five cents per cup. Then he just said,

  451. no, I don't want it, said it very harshly, and he

  452. walked off and then he went back home. Ten minutes later, the girl

  453. rang on the door doll and say, and brought him a glass of lemonade,

  454. icy clothed glass of lemonade for you. It's on the house. The

  455. guy straightway like, no, I told you I don't want it. Get

  456. lost and he slammed the door, slammed the door. Next day, when

  457. he came back from work, there was a cold glass of lemonade waiting outside

  458. his door. Again he saw. He was fuming. He was so angry.

  459. He took the glass of lemonade. He walked across the neighborhood to the

  460. girl's house. He knocked on the door and told the parents. I told

  461. her that I don't want any lemonae. Take this glass and tell her not

  462. to disturb me. And gave the glass back to the parents. Not drunk,

  463. okay, and he walked back home. Next day he walked back there

  464. was another glass of lemone, ice, cold glass. Same thing he did

  465. it. This thing happened for the next thirty days. Every day he came

  466. back, there was a cold glass of lemon On the thirtieth day, right

  467. when he saw that glass of lemonade, he just broke. Something in him

  468. broke. He said something, and he broke and I just started crying.

  469. I just started crying. So he took the glass of lemonade. He drunk

  470. it all up. He walked back across to the neighbor's house, rung the

  471. doorbell, and when the parents came, say thank you so much for this,

  472. Lamonade. I really appreciate what your daughter has done, and he got

  473. to know the family a bit better. So this family just moved to the

  474. neighborhood because the neighborhood is near a children's hospital and the kid was having a

  475. terminal disease and she needed treatment. But you can see it right. She

  476. was quick to listen. She was slow to speak, slow to anger.

  477. Can you imagine if someone was rude to me and slammed the door on me,

  478. I will react. But this girl, because she was quick to listen,

  479. she could hear the hurt, she could hear the pain in this person's

  480. life, and because of that, she led this man to Christ. We

  481. hope you've been blessed by this message. For more information on our church,
