You're listening to a message to go from acts Church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. Today's message. I just want to share.
-
I was just reflecting what should I share with all of you today? And
-
I just want to share. You're about the storm, he said, Okay,
-
the storm, and what can we learn about the storm and the winds,
-
the raging winds in our life and how we can tackle the storms and
-
the raging wins. And I'm like, okay, this is my night title.
-
There's two over there you. As I share, I hope you'll be
-
able to choose which one is the right title for today. Of course,
-
the first one is the w w D. How many of you know?
-
What doesn't mean? What would Jesus do? Right? How about the second
-
one? What? What? What? What does the second one mean?
-
What should we do? All? Right? As I'm sharing this a lot
-
of times we as I was going through the storm, the reason storm that
-
I had asked my asking my heart, what would Jesus do? How would
-
Jesus all come this storm? And then I started the thing, is that
-
the right question to ask? I think in life, in every circumstances that
-
we are in the moment, we are faced with trouble, you look to
-
Jesus. That's right, that's the right thing to do. But the question
-
in my heart that I was wondering in my heart, what is that the
-
right question to ask? And as I started pondering on the question, I
-
started to ask, actually, what should I do in the midst of the
-
storm. And that's when we get to this title, what should we do?
-
If you have bibles? If you can turn with me into Mark chapter
-
four, verse thirty five to forty one, and we are going to read
-
scripture. Is that okay? Is that all right? Okay? Mark chapter
-
four, verse thirty five to forty one. Mark is after the Book of
-
Matthew. All right, okay, are you ready. I'm going to read.
-
I'm going to read, and you just stay with me. When as
-
I read this first all right, thirty five On the same day, when
-
the evening had come, he said to them, let us cross over to
-
the other side. Thirty six. Now, when they had left the multitude,
-
it took him along in the boat as he was, and other little
-
boats were also with him, and with great and a great windstorm arose and
-
the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already feeling. But
-
he was in the stern, asleep on a pillow, and they awoke him
-
and said to him, teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?
-
Then he arose and rebuilt the wind, and he said to the sea,
-
peace be still, and the wind sees and there was a great calm.
-
But he said to them, why are you so fearful? How is
-
it that you have no faith? And they feared exceedingly and said to one
-
another, who can this be that even the wind and the sea obey him?
-
God bless the reading of his word. Now, Mark chapter four was
-
also encountered in Matthew and Live, respectively. This was an account and eyewitness
-
account. You know, Scripture is the Gospels is the eyewitness account of what
-
Jesus is and the life of Jesus. And as Mark was accounting on this
-
and writing this story, this is the story about Jesus calming the sea the
-
wind, a story that the children would have heard a thousand times, you
-
know, besides the walking on water the other storm, you know. And
-
very interestingly in Mark it says a few important phrases. I'm going to share
-
these phrases to you, and as we go along, I hope you will
-
key up something in your mind. Right here we go, let us cross
-
over to the other side. They took him along in the boat as he
-
was These are key sentences that I hope that if you're taking notes, you
-
can take it down with you. Okay, a great windstorm arose, waves
-
beat into the boat, filling up. Fourth phrase, Jesus was asleep.
-
Fifth phrase, Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing? Now?
-
Before I go into the sharing for today, I want to give you
-
the main point, he said. Okay, I'm going to give you the
-
main point, and from there we're going to study the world of got together.
-
Here's the main point that I would like you to catch today. The
-
first slide, second slide. Can you turn to the second slide? The
-
third slid. The main point is it is not about the storms in your
-
life. I don't know if you're catching it, if you're hearing properly.
-
It is not about the storms in your life. Whenever you're encountering a storm
-
in your life, remember this phrase. It is not about the storms in
-
your life. How Daniel, how can I go through this situation? How
-
can I go through these circumstances? The main point isn't about the storms in
-
your life. Let's celebrate on that. But what is it about? It
-
is about who Jesus is. The Book of Mark chapter four ended on verse
-
forty one, saying that, and that's the main point where we're getting it
-
from today. Who can this be? That is the main point. Who
-
can this be? Who is the main character in your life today? Is
-
it you? Is it your situations? Is it your problems? Or is
-
it your creator? Who? We have to ask the right question whenever we
-
are faced with problems in our lives, whenever we're phrased with junctures in our
-
life, asking the right question is very important. Asking the right question will
-
lead us to our deliverance. Asking our wrong question will lead us to our
-
destruction. All right, I hope that we are here today hoping to be
-
delivered from the stranglehold that is holding you back from experiencing a breakthrough in Jesus
-
Christ. Amen. Sometimes this book, this book called the Bible, it's
-
a very powerful book, but only if you know who it is about.
-
If it's just a book that you read like Harry Potter, you know some
-
very powerful English, it's no power. Right. And this book there is
-
a very very It's very important to know how to read scripture. This is
-
something that I'm learning day in day out with my wife. You know,
-
as we are reading together, we learn and we just discuss, actually what
-
is it that we are looking for? Whenever we look to the Bible.
-
Now, the Bible has a lot of parables, right, Jesus himself preached
-
a lot of peris. I'm on a journey of just ear mucking each and
-
every parable and what it's about, you know, cross referencing, and it's
-
very powerful. And when Jesus teach in parables, he does not he only
-
explains it to his disciples. His disciples will also go, like what you're
-
talking about. Jesus had to explain it to his disciples. But when he
-
was teaching in parables, there is certain meaning that it's behind the stories,
-
right, And the Bible is like that as well, But not all the
-
time. Sometimes, in fact, most of the times, whenever we read
-
the Book of the World of God, we have to take it as it
-
is. We have to take the word of God as it is. Christians
-
believers more often not even myself. Sometimes when I am in the midst of
-
the storm, I go to this book as if it's a manual on how
-
to get out of the storm. And when I go to the verse and
-
I read that verse and somehow it doesn't apply to my life, then I
-
go like, God, God, why are you not there? This book
-
is not a book that is men to get you out of trouble. Only
-
this book is a book that is meant for you to draw closer to the
-
Creator. Understand who this God is. Understand the identity of our creator,
-
who Jesus is, and that would solve your problem. Not every single verse
-
or every single passage in the Bible has to relate to you. So if
-
it doesn't relate to you, if it doesn't help you in that situation,
-
it doesn't mean that it is not helpful. Open up your hearts, friends,
-
Learn the Word of God. Read the Word of God as it is.
-
Be careful, friends, be very careful how we tend to interpret scripture.
-
Sometimes you like to take one verse and one verse only, and we
-
say, see see God, God say it, whoa the word of God
-
that inspired infallible in the Word of God said this, Therefore it must apply
-
in my life. Hello, did you read it in context? Did you
-
know the situation that led to the auto writing that verse. Do you know
-
the background behind Jeremiah twenty ninet eleven. Do you know that it is not
-
a verse that is so uplifting and every time you use it we think,
-
oh, well, God knows he's here to give me a future and a
-
whope, I who? But do you know that verse is centered around an
-
impossible situation. They just got kicked out of the house, and suddenly someone
-
from nowhere saying telling me that I is not what I need to hear.
-
Now. I need to get back to my house. I need to get
-
back to the city that I lost. Stop telling me things that I don't
-
want to hear. Yah. The Bible is full of things that we don't
-
want to hear, but we need it in our lives. Amen. It's
-
the focus of God helping us through our trials? Is that the focus?
-
When we read Mark chapter four very often? Sometimes you know this is me.
-
Okay, maybe all of you is different, but for me personally,
-
I always have you heard this before? Jesus is with us in the storm?
-
Yeah, Jesus is with us in the storm. Jesus is calm.
-
Jesus is asleep, so we can be asleep too. We can sleep.
-
The disciples didn't sleep that, so I they they were, they were,
-
they were getting rebuilt after that. Have we heard this before? Have you
-
heard that if Jesus is there, we should cast all our fear, all
-
our burden on the shoulder of Jesus. Have you heard this before? Yes,
-
I have heard it before. I appresed about it before. But something
-
just changed in my heart as I was reading this scripture, as I was
-
going through a storm with my dad, something changed. Why do we always
-
look and depend and wait for Jesus to move before we take the first step.
-
Why why do I always wait for a confirmation from the Lord before I
-
read my bible? So Jesus is at peace, so we can be at
-
peace. To These are all some of the common interpretations that sometimes can take
-
away. Yes, that is true, but that is not the primary focus
-
of this passage. It is not the primary focus sometimes as believe us.
-
This is another statement I'm going to share. You know, my rough will
-
be a fare us, but you know, just have to do what you
-
have to do. We tend to stretchure. We then to strap scripture so
-
much so that it will stretch it to a point where it applies in our
-
situation, and it helps this heart feel better. Jesus is in the book.
-
Jesus is there with me. I don't have to do much. I
-
just have to wait. This true like Paul. You know, the Angel
-
of the Lord appeared to Paul and say, you just got to weather this
-
storm. Oh, therefore I also can just weather this storm. Were in
-
there in your life. It's something that has to move before Jesus can work
-
in your heart. Something has to change, The focus has to change.
-
If we're only reading scripture to find one thing, which is how can this
-
help me, we may totally miss out on the focus of this text,
-
which points to the nature of God and who he is. Stop trying to
-
find who you are in the Bible and find who find out who he is.
-
Amen, Let's go through verse by verse all right, verse thirty five
-
on the same day when the evening come? So which day was this?
-
How many of us know? What was Jesus doing prior to this? What
-
was he doing here preaching? You're sharing, In fact, you're sharing some
-
of the parables? Right, I do I have an image of uh image
-
of the ocean, the sea of Galilee, somewhere there right yeah, okay,
-
this is the Sea of Galilee. Uh and that is the soul's cove,
-
is where it's commonly alight, or rather very I would say that this
-
is where he did most of his preaching from uh is. He was a
-
man that was in demand. Jesus, you're not in the Savior was a
-
man that was in demand. All right. If you sing that he was
-
nobody, think again, open your bible and read how much in demand this
-
person named Jesus was. Yet each and every time after he performs a miracle,
-
he always say, do not share to anyone. It's a warning,
-
it's an instruction, do not. But people were just in awe so much
-
of the action. You see, Jesus had a big following, a multitude,
-
But where was that multitude multitude when he got crucified. The people that
-
were around Jesus when he was crucified, I believe no or even they themselves
-
were healed by Jesus, and they knew a family member, a brother,
-
a sister, a child. But yet they were seeking so much so for
-
the action, the healing, the trial, the tribulation, to get out
-
of that so much soul. But they did not focus on the creator they
-
were just in it so that they will get what they want. The multitude
-
was so big. It was so big that even in scripture it says that
-
Jesus had to tell his disciples to prepare a boat for him so that he
-
doesn't get trampled on. It was such a break following. Can you imagine
-
I'm standing here and it all come to us me. I'm gonna die.
-
I can't even minister, and I have to retreat or sharks. I have
-
to retreat to the ocean, to the Sea of Galilee, and on a
-
boat. I tell you, it's so amazing that Jesus was standing in the
-
boat on the sword's court, and you can see around the Sea of Galilee
-
is mountains. There's a natural ambience, there's no need for a mic.
-
His voice in himself, along with the wind, was enough to share his
-
voice that people multitudes can hear his voice. That's the power of Jesus,
-
that's the power of your creator. That even the winds and the seas obey
-
him. And yet after each miracle he says to not share. I'm here
-
for you. I'm here for you. Have you ever thought that way?
-
Why did Jesus instruct the people that he healed, not to share because if
-
I am in it for the glory of myself. When I married such a
-
beautiful wife, you know, when I caught that such a beautiful girl in
-
the form of Rochelle, I won the whole world to know, right,
-
I should be sharing on social media? Right. But when Jesus came for
-
me, he came for me. He didn't care if anyone else knew he
-
came for me. He knew his purpose, and he went for the one.
-
He went for that one. But you know, people are people are
-
instruction given already never listen multitude game. And he did he say, did
-
he send them away? No? He healed. He he talked to them,
-
He prayed for them, one by one. So there's the introduction on
-
the same day. What are you doing with your day friends, before your
-
trials come, before your storms come? What are you doing with your day?
-
How are you living out your day? How are you living out your
-
day? Friends? Are you filling up your day with the love of Jesus
-
Christ? Or are you filling up your day with garbage? When I'm preaching
-
this, I'm always preaching it to myself because I am weak. I'm the
-
weakest in this whole room. Really, ask my wife. She knows me.
-
She will look. I can imagine my head. She look at me
-
right now, being in the world God, she goes like hippocrite. I
-
can imagine because I am weak. I am weak. This flesh, this
-
heart is deceitful, this flesh is weak. But when I preach today and
-
I share the word of God with you today, it's also a reminder of
-
myself. On the same day, when the evening had come, he said
-
to them, let us cross over to the other side. All right,
-
let us cross over to the other side. It was already late, the
-
whole day was gone. It's time to rest, told his disciples, let
-
us cross over to the other side. In my Bible I highlighted this verse,
-
let us cross over to the other side. When your Creator says something
-
to you, it means it will happen last something, something popping in your
-
mind. Right now, let us cross over to the other side means what
-
means you will get to the other side. Lah. Right, So why
-
did the disciples in the midst of the storm, penny, It's already clear.
-
Sometimes in our life, God has already given an instruction to you.
-
God has already declared your future over your life. But yet time and time
-
again we forget about what God has told us in the first place. And
-
there we are crying and praying to God, God, please help me.
-
But God already said, you are going to get over to the other side.
-
Turn to your neighbor and say you're going to get over to the other
-
side. Come on, friends, you are going to get over to the
-
other side. I'm going to see you in heaven. If you are a
-
believer today, if you believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior,
-
I'm going to see you in heaven. That is a promise. Stop trying
-
to let the enemy rob you of that promise just because you watch potography the
-
other day. Submit to the Lord forgive, Ask God for forgiveness. Repent.
-
Yes you commit a sin, Yes you said something wrong. Yes you
-
did something wrong. Yes you, but you have a loving father that you
-
can come back to. But think that first step, friends, think that
-
first step. Let us cross over to the other side. Oh, such
-
a beautiful picture. But like every other human being, let's read on what
-
happens all right? Verse thirty six, Verse thirty six. I think it's
-
on the slide right, so you can read together with me. Now,
-
when they had left the multitude, they took him along in the boat as
-
he was. What is the important phrase in this verse? Passassandra is Beingsasendra.
-
The important phrase in this verse is as he was as he was.
-
Think Jesus as he is. Don't try to make your version of Jesus.
-
I your version of Jesus will only help you in this situation. But when
-
this situation is over, I yell crucify him. You know, every time
-
we blush him against the Holy Spirit, that's actually an unpartable sin if you
-
read the Bible. But time and time again, sometimes we do it Unknowingly.
-
There's power in the name of Jesus. Declare the name of Jesus over
-
your life. I'm very inspired by pas Can, but until now I can't
-
get it. I'm always going like, ah, but that's that's just who
-
he is. Always like to say, he's a man of faith, man
-
of faith, man of faith. But come on, he's faith, and
-
your faith should be the same. He's Jesus, and your Jesus should be
-
the same, same God as he was, and other little boats were also
-
with him. I don't know how many of you have not this, this
-
spartning scripture. Huh, God lit boats with him. I ran on a
-
wild goose chase. Let me share you this our preparent especiation. What is
-
the significance of these three boats? Three? Is it? Three? I
-
just went one number? So there's this main boat. Sorry, am I
-
drawing? And then God Jesus sleeping? Okay? Then got other boats?
-
Ronnie? What does the other boats mean? Oh? Man, what's the
-
significance of the other boats? Is it? Because? Oh? What is
-
it? What is it? Guys? Who cares? Dan you? Why
-
are you focusing on the little boat when there's a big boat? Or what
-
there for you to focus on? I kid you not, that's what happened,
-
Sally, the part in my face gonna slept nicely? Why are you
-
focusing on the little boat? Why are you focusing on the other boats?
-
Come on? Scripture is scripture. It's an eye witness account. Friends.
-
You know how when you you you want to tell your friend about your favorite
-
choparty anxally, you know, you saw one duck in the middle of the
-
road, and you say, there was three ducks in the middle of road.
-
But suddenly there's a big chapatty over here, the three ducks. It's
-
just an eye winners a town. You don't have to over spiritualize every single
-
thing in the Bible. The Bible is real. If the three boats method,
-
they will tell you what happened to the three boats or sorry I keep
-
saying three, that's not This is the other little boats right right, They
-
will tell you what happened to it. So stop taking your focus away from
-
the main point. Keep the main point the main point. Make the main
-
point the main point. Stop trying to find side this side, this side,
-
dish or no need. Okay, So the little posts are there,
-
yes, agreed, Let's move on. Okay, the little pots were there
-
for whatever reason. Okay. Verse thirty seven, a great windstorm arose and
-
the ways bit into the boats, so that it was already feeling So what's
-
happening here? What's happening here? Suddenly? Suddenly? Okay, let me
-
give you some geography lesson. Okay, I learned this, so I just
-
want to share it with you. Do you know that in can we go
-
back to the to the Sea of Galilee and the Okay, so you see
-
the mountains right, the Sea of Galilee is the lowest fresh water sea in
-
the world. Okay, it's about I think it's the lowest. And then
-
the non lowest fresh water is the Dead Sea, which is further down.
-
Okay, So the Sea of Galilee being so low, Okay, you know
-
you'll know physics or science right in the middle of the night, the sea
-
is what hot or cold? So you throw the science physics back to the
-
teacher. It's hot, lie right? Cold air is where? Uh?
-
And then there's this remember this you shouldn't remember this chat right right forget all
-
through the teacher. Okay. So the mountains, the mountains that is surrounding
-
the Sea of Galilee is where the cold air is. And at night,
-
as the air is gushing down through the mountains, it meets with the air
-
it is on the sea and it causes a turbulence. He causes the turbulence.
-
That's why the Sea of Galilee is notoriously known for its waves and sudden
-
earthquakes. Earthquakes sudden uh, like all these boisterous windla you know, all
-
these conditions whereby you know, the ships, so just kept signs and whatnot
-
like Okay, So the Sea of Galilee is known for that who is on
-
this Who is on the boat with Jesus? Fishermen? Right? Where did
-
the fishermen work prior to meeting with Jesus? This is very sea they were
-
here, So what you call them masters of the trade? They were musters.
-
Who was Jesus carpenter? Why asking Jesus about this? Okay, that's
-
one thing for you to know. Okay. So a great windstorm arose,
-
the ways already beating on a boat the bank of the bank, the bang,
-
right, and then it was already feeling up with water. Right,
-
So what was the designer was doing in the in the end that moment panicking?
-
I would imagine they were trying to scoop up water and throw it out
-
of the water. You're not trying to steer the ship back because there they
-
are fisherman, they should know what to do. Right, Let's go on
-
verse thirty eight. But he was in the stern. The stern is at
-
the back of the ship normally where the theato rota is the wheel. And
-
he was asleep on a pillow, and they awoke him and said to him,
-
teacher, do you not care? All right? He was asleep on
-
a pillow. This is where I started today earlier by saying, sometimes a
-
very scripture, we have to read it as it is. Have you ever
-
asked ourself a question? Why is Jesus asleep? Why is Jesus asleep?
-
Oh, Jesus asleep, so I should sleep too. No, Jesus asleep
-
because he's human. Lah, he's tired, La. He just went through
-
an entire day of preaching and sharing and praying for people. The people don't
-
know whether he wrestlprocate well as well, We don't know, but he had
-
to meet all kinds of people, right, right, he was just dire,
-
La, He was just tired. It just shows his humanity. Just
-
sws that he is really who he is, a man that gets tired.
-
We don't have to over spiritualize these kind of things, right, he just
-
gets tired. Then the disciples say to him, teacher, do you not
-
care that we are perishing? Wow? When I read this verse, right,
-
I was asking to myself, what's the what's the issue with the disciples
-
waking Jesus up? What's that the issue? Friends? Any any response?
-
What's that the issue? Sign my check? You know? Banging? Ready?
-
You know? No, at least my got no money? What's andra
-
you haven't sent me my check yet? Can you wake up and sign my
-
check? Please? Is that the issue? She did lay pay me for
-
ten months? Is that the issue? Is that? Is that right for
-
me to say I haven't really kept my salary for ten months? You?
-
Is that an issue? Let's try it again. You don't care what me?
-
Is it? Who is Jesus in your life? I'm going to get
-
fired tomorrow, teacher? Do you not care? I don't know how much
-
of you have been in this situation before. When we look to God and
-
we say these words, God, do you not care about where I am
-
in? God? Do you not care about the child I've lost? God?
-
Do you not care? Some of these issues are very real? Do
-
you not care? What the job that I've lost? Do you not care
-
about the people that are dying in Gaza? Really? How many of us,
-
all of us were at the keyboard the rate typing? Yeah you know
-
this israelies. God? Do you not care? But the babies that are
-
dying? God? Do you not care? I have asked this question before,
-
and I think that is the crux of the problem here. I think
-
that's the crux that led to Jesus rebuking the disciples, let's read on.
-
Then he arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, peace be
-
still, and the wind sees, and there was a great calm. You
-
know, in the Greek language. I'm not going to go into some Greek
-
study here, but the Greek language, and in the way it was written
-
verse thirty nine, there was an emphasized emphasis on the words suddenly. That
-
means, when Jesus rebuilt the wind, immediately the wind stopped. Immediately,
-
the wind sees, and there was a great calm out of the blue.
-
Out of the blue. It was as if the wind was obeying the word
-
of God, obeying his voice so much so that the disciples were able to
-
hear exactly what Jesus had to say to them in the boistious wind. How
-
can you hear what I have to say? It is as implicated. It's
-
as if creation knows who their creator is. And when Jesus rebuilt the wind,
-
it ceased verse forty. And here's the he gets beautiful. And when
-
late, I'm going to just illustrate something to you that came to me today
-
this yesterday, Verse forty. He said to them, why are you so
-
fearful? Why you wake me up? Why? Why? Why? Why?
-
Why? Why can't you handle this yourself? Is that? Oh?
-
Jesus was saying it. I was just wondering, is it is that?
-
Hell? Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no
-
faith? Ah? It's a very painful sentence to hear, right, you
-
know, especially when you're going through something with your loved one, Especially when
-
I'm going through something with my dad. Doctor going up to you and saying,
-
why are you so fearful? Of course I'm fearful. I'm going to
-
the problem, not you, right, you wait, you go to the
-
problem, You go to the problem. Yourself talk so much? How many
-
of us have said that before? How many of us have said it to
-
our others? Half before? You talk so much? You cleaner, you're
-
super nigh. There's the reason why you are supposed to clean and not her.
-
There's a reason why they were the fisherman and Jesus was not. There's
-
a reason why he was asleep because there is not his job. It's not
-
his job to steer the boat. He did his job already. Let him
-
sleep. Let the man sleep. To your part, why are you so
-
fearful? Why have you no faith? So I went to Greek where the
-
New Testone was written in, and I found out the word fearful. I'm
-
gonna share you in Greek the meaning of fearful. I have a slight I
-
think, can you put it up? Meaning a fearful in Greek? Here
-
we go de alius. De alius is fear in Greek means cowardly and timid.
-
All right, So when Jesus was saying why are you so fearful?
-
Jesus was saying, why are you so delious? Okay, following me so
-
far? Verse forty one. What happened after that? And they feared exceedingly?
-
The word feared exceedingly here is in Greek it's called phobio fore boss,
-
which is reverence to be seized with alarm. You are alarmed about it.
-
When this person walks into the room, when this person is in your midst,
-
there is an urgency. There is a reverence towards this person. When
-
Passsandra walks in the room, I hope you have respect for her because it's
-
just who she is. Right. When Albert walks in the room and he
-
is worship leading over here, I hope you are not over there saying I
-
heard this worship leader Laosian la cant a single la have some respect and what
-
more God? And when God is in your room, I hope that there
-
is that fear, not a fear there is cowardly and kimid. Oh my
-
God, I afraid that fear will come if you knew that you have sinned.
-
That's the fear that came upon Adam when he was hiding. There was
-
an exceedingly above all multiplied fear for the Lord. There was a reverence Verse
-
forty one. And they feared exceedingly and said to one another, who can
-
this be that even the wind and the sea obey him? Now, remember
-
where where we were was the disciples were in the boat, and they were
-
in a place where they were so scared. They were so coward the cowardice
-
was in their heart. And and remember these are not Tom Dick and Harrier.
-
This is disciples that were fishermen. About six or seven of them were
-
fishermen, and all of them in the boat at the same time. And
-
you are so scared. You may think that you have control over your life,
-
but there's something that may happen in your life that will bring you to
-
your knees. So scared of it. You're so fearful. And before me
-
I realized that it's family. It's family whenever someone gets sick, whenever loved
-
one gets especially with my dad in the past, I shed before. Uh,
-
you know, day in day out, sometimes speaching the word of God.
-
But suddenly when it happens to you, and when the reality hits you,
-
suddenly forgot to pray. You suddenly just rush the hospital immediately. Instead
-
of calming yourself that and saying, Lord help me, in my heart,
-
I'm uttering words like Lord, do you not care? I'm doing the work
-
for you theay in day out. But yet why is it that my dad,
-
my own dad? Why is it when I pray for you know,
-
teens and they get their big true? But where is my true? All
-
of this goes out of the window when it needs to be dealt with,
-
when it needs to be the main point in your life. The disciples were
-
going through a storm, and but how they ended this situation was that the
-
fear of the Lord was there in their life. They knew who God was,
-
They knew who Jesus is. The disciples knew that Jesus was the Messiah.
-
Already saw so many miracles that were performed by him, But did they
-
really know who Jesus was until that point. I believe that this was one
-
of the turning points in which they looked and they realized, Wow, yeah,
-
this is no joke. Jesus is in the boat. Jesus is in
-
my presence, Jesus is in my family, Jesus is in my situation.
-
Friends, my question to you is have you realized that Jesus is in your
-
seat situation? Because if Jesus is in your situation, all you have to
-
do is to cry out to him in moments of desperation, moments where nothing
-
else will, everything else feel, and nothing else seems to work. I
-
pray, and I pray that you remember that Jesus is there with you.
-
It is not wrong for the disciples to wake Jesus up. If the Disciples
-
were to wake Jesus up and say, Jesus, help, Lord, Help,
-
we tried everything already and we can't. We're still in this situation,
-
do you think Jesus will still say the same thing to the disciples. I
-
believe it's because of their lack of faith in who Jesus was. It's the
-
lack of faith that Jesus can move the mountains. Is the lack of faith
-
that Jesus is the ruler over the oceans, ruler over the seas, is
-
who he is, and in the world of God is very clear that God
-
is the one that commands the weather, that God is the one that commands
-
the world, That God is the one Paul Paul couldn't. If Paul could,
-
why why why why didn't he just stop the sea? Why didn't he
-
Why did the Angel of the Lord appear to poor and say, you gotta
-
wear that is out now? If the Lord Jesus Christ, you know,
-
has like given the power to the disciples to heal, that is because God
-
has given you the authority. But if you have not received the authority in
-
your life, stop stop trying to be God, friends, stop trying to
-
be God. I'm gonna give you some verses to back this up. God,
-
not men, commands and controls the weather. Remember Elijah, Remember when
-
he was asking for rain and he prayed. What did Elijah do? Elijah
-
prayed right after that? What happened? He waited? It was God that
-
brought the rain. Eli, like, you're only prayed Psalms sixty five,
-
verse five to eight. Can you turn your bible to Psalms sixty five,
-
verse five to eight, and we're gonna read XTV. Can you help me
-
with this Psalm sixty five, verse five to eight. I don't have to,
-
you have to turn to scripture. Right. Let's zoom in on verse
-
seven if possible. By awesome, yaya your confidence on all the ends of
-
the earth and file seas? Next verse, who established the mountains by his
-
strengths being closed with power? Next verse? You who's steal the noise of
-
the sea, the noise of the waves, and the tumult of the people.
-
You God, Who's steal the voice of the sea. Psalms eighty nine,
-
verse eight to nine. Can we have that lub as well? XTV?
-
Thank you so much. These are some verses that you can take down.
-
I hope that you. Verse eighteen, Chapter eighty nine, XTV,
-
Verse eight to nine, Oh Lord, God of holes, Who is mighty
-
like you? Oh Lord? This is one of those verses. Who is
-
mighty like you? Who? Who else about you? Who else about you?
-
Your faithfulness also surrounds you? Next verse? You rule the raging seas.
-
When its waves rises, you steal them? God steals the sea all
-
the while. Previously, before this, it was always I prayed and God
-
answered, Elijah, it was always, you know, the Angel of the
-
Lord appeared, and then I just follow his commanments. The disciples, you
-
have to understand that in the culture, in the Jewish culture, they were
-
very very very clear, and they know the Torah, they know the Old
-
Testament, they know the Word of God, and some of them even know
-
it by heart right because back then there's no physical Bible. They're all in
-
scrolls. Job thirty eight. This is a chapter. When I read this,
-
I go like, oh, God, you're just you're just showing off
-
who you are. Really in a good way. You are just showing off
-
your authority, your power. Okay, Job thirty eight. Job thirty eight
-
is filled with job can you do this? Can you do this? Can
-
you do this? Can you do this? Can you do this? I
-
can do this? Can you do this? I can do this? Can
-
you do this? I can do this? You read Job thirty eight,
-
the whole chapter is that he's just just just every single thing in job thirty
-
eight was like that can you do this? Only God can do this?
-
And in Job thirty eight there is a first that says that only God can
-
steal the waters. So, friends, when the disciples saw Jesus, peace,
-
peace, do you Jesus didn't even pray. No, Jesus just commanded
-
the waters. Jesus commanded the wind to stop, and the wind stopped.
-
In that moment. I believe the disciples understood who this person is. This
-
person is God. Have you realized that God is there in your life,
-
walking with you? Said? Step by step? The Holy Spirit is God.
-
Yes, Jesus physically may not be here anymore, but He has sent
-
the Holy Spirit to be each and every one of us. Have we realized
-
that reality? Because if we are watering down the Holy Spirit, guys,
-
and if we are only like you know, oh, Jesus, Jesus,
-
Jesus, Yes, the there's power in it, Jesus, but there's also
-
power in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is there with you. And
-
are we aware of this? Psalms eighteen, Verse fifteen, Psalms one oh
-
four seven one oh six' nine, Isaiah fifty two, now Home one
-
four. All of these are verses that supports that only God controls the weather,
-
and Jesus himself controlled the weather. Jesus himself rebuilt the wind there was
-
a sudden realization of who Jesus is. Before I close, I'm just going
-
to share with you some questions that I asked myself and relate to the disciples.
-
First question, what was wrong with the fear of the disciples? Oh's
-
wrong? Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no
-
faith? Could it be that there was a promise meth and regardless of what
-
happened, all is well and just believe? Could that be what the disciples
-
should have done instead of being fearful? Remember early on we started March apter
-
fall by saying we will cross over to the other side. There was an
-
instruction given, all's going to be well, just have faith. Yeah,
-
possibly, but it was highly It was slightly a bit hard to apply in
-
my life because the Word of God did not promise me that I would be
-
delivered from each and every one of my tribulations and my trials. I do
-
not know if you know you can you can share me? Is there a
-
scripture that backs that up? In my personal life? I know of a
-
certain word, the Word of the Lord, that I can hold onto.
-
I'm going to share with you today, men, my two eleven come to
-
me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will
-
give you rests. He did not say that the burden will go away.
-
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously. And he
-
will give you everything that you need. He says, everything that you need,
-
not everything that you want. John Itid, remain faithful to my teachings,
-
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
-
It's the truth that is revealed to you. Whether the truth it's about
-
your situation, and actually the real problem it's you that would be revealed to
-
you. Maybe the real problem you are in this trial and this tribulations because
-
you have not been obedient to the voice of the Lord. Maybe it's because
-
Jesus has commanded you to do something through the world of God and you have
-
not obeyed. Maybe that's why your big truth has not come. And the
-
truth will set you free, John Itid, Remember John fourteen, A place
-
prepared for me. There's a place. Don't let your hearts be troubled.
-
Trust in God and also in me. Trust in God and also in me
-
whatever state that I am, to be content, and I can do all
-
things through Christ, who strengthens me Philippines. For these are versus that I
-
can hold on too. Could it be here's another question that maybe y'all can
-
reflect on. Could it be to believe on God? Believe in God regardless
-
of peril. Now, I'd like to share with you that this is something
-
that I caught out of this scripture, to believe in God regardless of peril.
-
You know, use this for a while. When he tries to illustrate
-
something, we're close, you know, by it says that the heart is
-
deceit for right, the heart is really just something that you shouldn't rely on
-
the feelings, the emotions that will come your way. What should what should
-
the disciples to do? What should I do? What should we do?
-
Okay? So when when when when the Bible says about the heart, And
-
when the Bible says that the heart is deceived for what does it actually mean?
-
I believe that when you're listening to yourself, when you're putting yourself above
-
everything else, that is what would change your path, that was what would
-
lead you to destruction. And the heart is in the center of that all.
-
Your heart for a better life, your heart for a better wife,
-
your heart for a better husband, your heart for a better job. When
-
things are I'm not talking about when things are all fancy nice and what you
-
know. I'm talking about when things are really, really really bad. Things
-
are bad. And how you can control this heart is by hearing the word
-
of God. All right, So that's the only way you can control and
-
keep his heart in check is when you depend on the Cross. Jesus is
-
the center. Without Jesus, without this word, without God in your life,
-
all you're going to do is to continue to hear things that you shouldn't
-
be hearing, things that are not of the spirit, things that will only
-
lead you to destruction. Friends, I would like to encourage you that as
-
the disciples were on the board, as the disciples, but in the storm,
-
as you are in the storms of your life, are you angering it
-
on who Jesus is? Are you angering it on the Cross? Because if
-
you're not, you're just going to continue to go on this path that will
-
only lead to destruction. You know, in John chapter one, verse one,
-
how y'all know this my heart right now in the beginning, in the
-
beginning, Come on, y'all notice in the beginning and the word with God,
-
and the word was The Word of God is what you should be in
-
booing a life in not one chapter, but the Word of God. This
-
Cross is the word of God. Stop trying to cherry pick which verse applies
-
to your life. But know the Word of God for who he is.
-
And I can guarantee you. I can guarantee you everything will be answered when
-
it really go away. Do good people die? Yes, we just lost
-
a very well known bust who is a shepherd of many. He died.
-
How to tackt death comes after us all, but as we anchoring it on
-
the cross, and as we are hearing the cross, as we hear the
-
word of God, remember what God? Remember what Jesus said to the disciples.
-
Why are you so fearful? Where is your faith? Where's your faith?
-
Friends? Where's your faith? Daniel? Where's your faith that God will
-
wolve mountains for you? Where is it? Because faith comes by faith comes
-
by hearing. Faith comes by hearing hearing the word of God. And as
-
you hear the word of God, you will God your heart. I'm going
-
to introduce you another term. All right, do you all know the word?
-
Do you know this word Russ? Is it the beautiful thing Russ?
-
Do you like russ in your life if you try to wash it right,
-
if you try to scrape it and scrap it and scrape it. But if
-
you do not try it, well, it's just going to come back and
-
back again. Right. Without the cross, your life will continue to russ.
-
But with the Cross you will begin to trust. You see it.
-
You have to trust on the Cross. Friends, you have to trust in
-
the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding,
-
and in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall I read your path.
-
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and not your understanding on
-
how to steer the boat, and on your own understanding on how to fish
-
out the water. But trust in the Lord with all your heart. The
-
disciples had to trust in the Lord with all their heart. That was what
-
was lacking. There was what was lacking. The faith in who Jesus is
-
was lacking in my life. That is the same as well. The faith
-
was lacking. The trust wasn't there, and all was left is the junk.
-
All was left is the trust, the rust that will only destroy who
-
I meant to be. So, friends, as you hear the Cross,
-
and as the Cross continue to lead you to trust, in who he is.
-
I pray that each and every one of you will understand the reality of
-
Jesus Christ and who is that person in your book Job twenty two, verse
-
twenty one to twenty two, and the New Living Translation says, to submit
-
to God and you will have peace. Submit to God that you will have
-
peace. Listen to His instructions and store them in your in your the hertest
-
deceitful friends, But if you rely on the cross, if you put Jesus
-
in your heart, if you'll continue to live that way, nothing will be
-
impossible that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is
-
not amen. I pray, and I pray that today. If you don't
-
catch anything else, I wasn't preparing a message that had three four five main
-
points. My one and only point is Jesus Christ is Lord. Jesus Christ
-
is Lord. As you come into a place where you are on fire to
-
share that all may know, I pray that you know first that Jesus Christ
-
is Lord in your life, in your situation. Put Jesus first above everything
-
else. Let him guide and lead your waist. And I'm going to share
-
you one final thought before we close. That will make or break it all.
-
This will really make or break it all. All right, all right,
-
I'm gonna you know which story this is about, Daniel Tree Verse seventeen.
-
Daniel Tree Verse seventeen was a story about three friends, three young guys
-
named Schedra, Michek, and Ebenegal, and the story goes along the line
-
of this, then my God will deliver me. My God will deliver me.
-
He will. But even if he does not, I will not bow
-
down. We will not bow down. Friends in your life, I don't
-
know how many of you are looking for the first part of Daniel Tree seventeen.
-
How many of you will only move if the first part of Daniel Tree
-
seventeen happens in your life. The story of even if he does not is
-
very important. Even if he does not, even if I die in that
-
storm, Jesus Christ is still Lord. Even if my race is over,
-
Jesus Christ is still Lord. I hope this encourages you. We hope you've
-
been blessed by this message. For more information on our church, please visit
