  1. You're listening to a message to go from acts church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your tea. Today's message, right, I want to continue

  3. from actually ko. It started off at KChO, that message series. I

  4. didn't know it's going to be a series love, but I thought was just

  5. a one off kind of things. But but it just continued to develop.

  6. So if you look at the slide, I'll just started up, right,

  7. so you remember this slide again again, you're it's I think it'll be like

  8. burned into your memory, this this slide. Because you have a plan.

  9. Your plan is perfect, your plan is smooth. All of us. We

  10. sometimes we factor in things that might go wrong, but most of the time

  11. there are some things that even when we plan, things happened. Right.

  12. So you know that in reality we go through different challenges. And like what

  13. I mentioned, right, this is a continuation. So this was first mentioned

  14. during KChO. So after that, right, there were three sermons. You'll

  15. remember. Okay, I'm not gonna put y'all on the spot because I don't

  16. I don't want you all to lie in church, Okay, So I will

  17. help you'all. Okay, I'll help you all next life. So I do

  18. a recap. So there were three sermons that I preached. The first one

  19. was a ko So the one at Kho was getting out of a rut right

  20. where I first introduced this diagram, and this was when there was three points.

  21. Give control to God, take control of my attitude, and stay focused

  22. on my purpose. So this I was drawing from the story of Paul.

  23. Remember he was thrown into prison. He was thrown into prison, but he

  24. says, to live is Christ, to die is gain right, and that's

  25. no matter what circumstances were thrown at him. He was shipwrecked, he was

  26. bitten by a snake. Remember the emoji. I asked you all the guests

  27. the emoji. There was a prison, snake, fire, stuff like that,

  28. and that was Paul, all right, and he shows that Paul had

  29. a plan, but he went through so many his reality is very real and

  30. how did he go through it? And he finally he stayed focused on his

  31. purpose. Okay, the second one is I'm mature or immature? So this

  32. second sermon series, right, it was on we had maturity, momentum and

  33. measure. So in interimes for this one, let me just recall, right,

  34. help you recall what it was. So you'll remember that we have to

  35. mature, all right, So why is mature? You have to have a

  36. mind, have a mature mind to go through different situations and then you press

  37. on and do everything to gain Christ. Okay, So how you do that,

  38. You have maturity, you have momentum, and then you measure. Okay.

  39. The last one, which was I think two weeks ago, was spirit

  40. lead. So this one it was three points as well, stir up,

  41. scared, and sauce. So you'll recall the picture of the elephant standing on

  42. the chair. Right. God has not given us a spirit of fear,

  43. but of power, of love, and of sound mind. So you can

  44. see, right, all of these three are in line with the different challenges

  45. and trials that we go through in life. But we are all focused towards

  46. the finish line, right, So today's one, it's another part of it.

  47. So it is a part then when we are also in the pit.

  48. So I don't want to talk about peaks, right, because everyone knows what

  49. happens at the peak. You are happy most of the time, you forget

  50. God and then you remember God most of the times in the pit when we

  51. are going through different challenges and stuff like that. So today's title right of

  52. today's sermon. Next, watch what you say, watch what you say?

  53. And most of the time do we have to watch what we say when things

  54. are not going away. When things are going our way, we will say,

  55. we can say praise God. God is good, God has blessed me

  56. abundantly. But what do we say when things are not going away? All

  57. right? So the next light I will draw from James chapter one. So

  58. do you know who is James? Just a bit of trivia, you know

  59. who is James. James is the brother of Jesus. So can you imagine

  60. being the brother of Jesus? You know, can you imagine being the brother

  61. of Jesus? He probably when Jesus says that he's the son of God came

  62. to save the world, do you think James would have believed? I think

  63. if my brother told me that, I'll be like, what in the world

  64. are you talking about? Right? And that's why you don't hear about James

  65. until after Jesus has resurrected. You know, when you see your brother died,

  66. crucified on the cross and then brought back to life, I think you

  67. will believe. Right, as a brother, you will believe and James Book

  68. Rights. It's a very quick compared to the rest of the Bible. I

  69. think the Book of James it is quite an much more straightforward book. So

  70. you read it right. He's a straight shooter. James is a straight shooter.

  71. I think if you take fifteen minutes you can go through the whole book.

  72. But there is a lot of truth in it, and today's one it's

  73. here here. I will just touch on these three verses on you today,

  74. James One, my dear brothers and sisters, take note of this. Everyone

  75. should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry,

  76. because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore,

  77. get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly

  78. except the word planted in you which can save you. Right. So this

  79. is the word, all right. And when when God just impressed upon me

  80. to sort of speak this right, usually when he asked me to speak something,

  81. he will give me a real life scenario to emphasize the point. So

  82. so this week, right, it was one of the first times in my

  83. whole career where I had this conversation. So my bosston he called me.

  84. He said, she said, hey, Jason, need to catch up with

  85. you for a while. So I'm like, okay, all right, so

  86. catch up. Then it's like so I said, need to bring laptop,

  87. laptop, and he said, let's go downstairs, downstairs, not meeting room

  88. or go downstairs. So I said, okay, let's go downstairs. Then

  89. she said, oh, you know there's this uh, there's the there's this

  90. new girl who joined my team. And then my boss was having a meeting

  91. with her and stuff like. And then suddenly, I think because of pressure

  92. or whatever, she broke down. And then there were many reasons given,

  93. and then he said one of the reasons is because of you. I was

  94. like, wow, okay, So when somebody says that, right then you'll

  95. be like, how would you how would you respond? You immediately like tighten

  96. up, right, you immediately like, hey, you tighten up, You're

  97. like this thing. But I caught myself, I say, I caught myself

  98. like getting a bit more defensively. I didn't say anything. I just like,

  99. okay, chill, I'm just gonna listen all right. Then so I

  100. say, oh, okay, so what did she say? What did she

  101. The thing says that you are very top down. You tell people what to

  102. do. You're very and then you don't take people's opinion stuff like like okay,

  103. all right. Then I asked my boss, so what do you think?

  104. I don't think solar then, so so why then I so I was

  105. asking the questions, So why why do you think she would have said there,

  106. you know and stuff like At the same time, right, I I

  107. am very conscious or alert in what I'm going to say, you know,

  108. and I was thinking, hey, this is a learning point for me.

  109. How do I receive bad feedback and respond well, you know? Uh?

  110. So then I asked my boss, so, actually I have never heard anything

  111. this from her directly. In fact, every time we work together it seems

  112. okay, you know. Then I asked my boss, did she do you

  113. ask her to talk to me? Say? Yeah, yeah, to talk

  114. to you and all that. So long story shot, I had the conversation

  115. with her. I think there's there's a lot of different things, pressures that

  116. she's going through and stuff like that, and uh, it's just a cocktail

  117. for for this thing last. So we tried to sort it out, clarify,

  118. got my boss, got her all into a meeting, and then we

  119. sort of talked it out and then we can move forward. But at the

  120. same time, right, I was like, I told my boss, wow,

  121. because this this person, uh she she reports to to not my peer,

  122. okay, but she's in my project teamla. So her boss, her

  123. boss, my boss, and me, I mean were they were. Her

  124. boss was like, hey, this is not the Jason we know. How

  125. come I telling telling my boss and all this. Yeah, I was like,

  126. I think I just discovered the side of me that I didn't know,

  127. you know. But the funny thing is, right, I was just saying

  128. that our God told me to preach on this thing and then I have to

  129. go through this kind of scenario and this kind of situation. So I was

  130. like, how this is practical application in the words, And I tell you,

  131. it's not easy. It's not challenging. It's challenging. How many of

  132. y'all people love you all the time. You have never had someone that has

  133. gone against you? Okay, so most of us have, right, we

  134. have had challenging situations. We have had difficulty we're talking to people and stuff

  135. like that. But guess what James is telling us how to handle it,

  136. how to handle it God's way, how to handle it God's way. And

  137. like what I mentioned in our in God's plan for us, there will be

  138. times where we will go through challenging situations, especially with people. Especially with

  139. people. If you're on an island where nobody is around you, you won't

  140. have any communication issues. La. Right, you're talking to a volleyball wills,

  141. you know, cast away. Yeah, but if you're dealing with people,

  142. look at your neighbor on your left. Hey, you're a person.

  143. You know communication, you will be dealing with communication. Okay, so there

  144. are three points here. Let me go to the first point. So what

  145. do we need to do when we are facing challenging situations? What do we

  146. need to do? So I've I've tried to improve my slides every time.

  147. Right, So now for the kids next time, I put one day so

  148. they know this is point one for your point one. Okay, so what

  149. do we need to do? We need to be quick to listen, quick

  150. to listen. It I think we have heard this scripture before. Quick to

  151. listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. But what does it mean

  152. quick to listen? You know most of us when we listen, we listen

  153. to answer, right, you listen to respond? You are not there listening

  154. to understand. I tell you when I was preparing yourselves after that are thinking,

  155. Hey, if I apply this, I think my communication with Jess will

  156. improve. Not well, the most communication you have is your spouse or your

  157. loved one and stuff like that. Right, so this is very practical.

  158. You can use this at home, you can use this with your kids,

  159. you can use this at work. Okay, So be quick to listen.

  160. You know, sometimes you pick up the phone and then if suddenly there's the

  161. person on the other side is like, very agitated and all this. Don't

  162. react. Be quick to listen, right, quick to listen. So let

  163. me just pull this up. If I go to the next slide, so

  164. he says, yeah, back, my dear brothers and sisters, take note

  165. of this. Everyone should be quick to listen. Can you imagine everyone?

  166. If everyone is quick to listen, how much better the world will be?

  167. Because right now, if you go to Facebook right, or you go to

  168. Twitter right, everyone is one thing to respond you one drama. You just

  169. click on the comments section. Comment section is more interesting than the post one

  170. usually because you everyone is like if not right, If everyone is quick to

  171. listen, the comments section will be empty. One, you know, because

  172. and if you see the comments right, you refresh it very fast two seconds,

  173. three seconds, four seconds, five seconds, very fast. People are

  174. responding and reacting yay um and says here right next lighte Proverbs eighteen, The

  175. heart of the discerning acquires knowledge for the years of the wise seek it out.

  176. So when we wanting to be quick to listen, why do we listen?

  177. Because we want to acquire knowledge. We need to understand why. So

  178. instead of responding, we ask the questions, why is this person reacting like

  179. this? Why am I responding this way? Why am I reacting this way?

  180. We need to understand so that we are able to then respond okay,

  181. and he says here okay, he says here, just give me a second.

  182. Yes, because you know, when everyone says something right next line,

  183. everything that everyone does, says our believes makes perfect sense to them. Do

  184. you believe it? Because everything if a person says something, it makes perfect

  185. sense to them. It may not make perfect sense to you, but it

  186. makes perfect sense to them. So like, for example, I'm trying to

  187. steer away from any controversy. Okay, Durian, you know sweeping statement I

  188. don't like I see max Max, They doesn't like Durian. So he WI

  189. was like crucified Duri and putting on the cross and like like kill it.

  190. You know. But if you do not understand, if we do not be

  191. quick to listen, like like for example, someone for Expresso says, hey,

  192. we'll be bringing Durian cake, and then like so many people are happy,

  193. and there's one person like, no, I hate Durian. Why are

  194. you doing this? And you respond in such a way. What happens because,

  195. for example, if Max responds that way, it's because it's something he

  196. believes in. He is not attacking you. There is something that he believes

  197. in that makes sense to him, and that's why he's saying what he's saying.

  198. So for example, if I listen properly, I go and ask,

  199. oh, Max, so why don't you like Durian? You know? And

  200. then I find out, Oh, he's from Costa Rica. Costa Ricans don't

  201. eat Durian, you know. Oh okay, it makes sense all right.

  202. Or maybe he ate Durian and he thought the torn he got pricked by the

  203. tones, and he has a vengeance against all Durians from now onwards. You

  204. know, there could there could be many reasons why there could be many reasons.

  205. Right, but everything that everyone does, says, or believes makes perfect

  206. sense to them. Okay, but most of the time we have no idea

  207. why, and that's why we ask the next question or we say the next

  208. phrase, next line. I don't know why people does this. I don't

  209. know why this person says this. I have no idea why this person believes

  210. this way. When when you say, have y'all said this before? Have

  211. you said this phrase before? When you have said this phrase? Right?

  212. Who needs the education? Who needs the education? You because you openly said

  213. I don't know. I don't know. So when you say I don't know,

  214. then you need to listen and you have to ask the right questions and

  215. then you can understand why. Right. So think about this, right,

  216. like, put this in a scenario in your office, like I mentioned,

  217. right, my uh, one of my staff, I mean told my boss

  218. this and stuff like that. Right, If I wanted to respond or react

  219. in the quickly, right, I will just say it's a problem. Nobody

  220. else said anything like this before. How come how come she didn't come to

  221. me? You know? Why does she go to use directly? If I

  222. say all this, it's not wrong. And if I go and tataret with

  223. my friend and tell them all this. All of them will agree with me,

  224. because this is how we will respond. But if I want to be

  225. quick to listen, I will be like, where is this coming from?

  226. What has caused her to say this? There must be something that she believes

  227. that I am not aware of, you know? And when I get to

  228. understand more, then I am more concerned about understanding the person than being right.

  229. Jay, So y'all have heard of this? How many of you all

  230. read the Seven Habits before? Seven Habits by Stephen Kober right right next night?

  231. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Seek first to understand,

  232. then to be understood. Because right, why I put this picture this

  233. picture? Have you all played with this before? Right? What happens if

  234. two people are talking at the same time? Nothing, it's noise. You

  235. will not understand what the other person says. The other person will not understand

  236. what you say. After a while, you will both get frustrated with each

  237. other and you will go nowhere. But when you do this and you one

  238. person is talking, one person is listening, That's why you quick to listen.

  239. You're quick to listen, quick to understand. And then only you respond.

  240. And this is actually a very good matter for all during a pandemic.

  241. Right, how many are you all had zoom calls or teams calls and stuff

  242. like that. Have you all been in calls where everyone is trying to talk?

  243. How is it amazing? Life changing? No? You hate it,

  244. right, you hate it because no one is getting anywhere. No one is

  245. getting anywhere, and everyone just wants their point of view to be hurt.

  246. You know. But when you listen, then you are able to understand where

  247. the person is coming from and you move forward. Okay, so that's the

  248. first point. Quick to listen. Okay, be quick to listen. We

  249. need to ensure that. That is the key. Okay, second point,

  250. what we need to stop. We need to stop to quickly speak and we

  251. need to stop quickly getting angry. Okay, this is very common man.

  252. If you don't believe, right, how many of you all think you don't

  253. have a problem with this? You don't have a problem. It is a

  254. challenge. You go and drive kale traffic on a jam where everyone is like

  255. cutting in or everyone is like honking you, or whatever it is, you

  256. will immediately speak fast. You will immediately get angry very fast. So so

  257. all of us have this problem, and you know, some maybe a higher

  258. degree, some less. But this is something that we challenge. It's a

  259. real challenge. But again, what does James say next? So slow to

  260. speak and slow to become angry, it is challenging. Is challenging to be

  261. slow to speak when people are throwing accusations at you. How do you respond?

  262. You know, if you are quick to listen, then you try and

  263. understand where the person is coming from. And then you are because you're quick

  264. to listen, you're slow to respond. But right now, a lot of

  265. us we speak very quickly. Right, so let me give you a few

  266. verses. Problebs eighteen fools fine, no pleasure in understanding, but delight in

  267. airing their own opinions. This from the Bible. No Bible is straight forward.

  268. So when we speak, we speak to understand or just to air our

  269. own opinions because God wants us to understand. I mean, this is James,

  270. James, the brother of Jesus, writing this, and he knows that

  271. how important this is. Okay, Next, Probabs tand sin is not ended

  272. by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues. You know, every

  273. war or every act of violence started from words, you know, in terms

  274. of countries going to war, and it starts with words and both are trying

  275. to get their opinions, and it escalates the words are multiplier. Once the

  276. words are multiplied, it escalates, and then that becomes violent, you know.

  277. And this is what happens when you're quick to speak. Have y'all been

  278. involved in an accident before? All? Right? Just imagine someone then somebody

  279. hit you or you hit somebody after that, right, what happens? Walk

  280. through the thing? Right, you're like, man, okay, Then you

  281. turn off the car, you pull to the side, and then you get

  282. down. If someone is the one that hit you, right, if someone

  283. that is the one that hit you, you turn off the car, you

  284. go to the site, you get down. What is the first thing you

  285. do when you see the person? La, when you see the person,

  286. I will fast forward to the thing where you see the person. What's the

  287. first thing you do? Yeah, you will just ask questions. I mean,

  288. if you go in like many you Buddha, you cannot see your well,

  289. what do you think will happened? Fight? Straight away? Fight?

  290. Why is that road? Rage? Why is that road rage because both were

  291. not quick to listen, both were quick to speak, and both did not

  292. speak to understand, but both spoke so that because they said their opinions were

  293. right. So you have been in the accident before, right, Usually you

  294. get down, you're like, okay, you have to de escalate the situation,

  295. right, you have to de escalate. You have to like, hey,

  296. so what happened? Right now? You know? Or if even better,

  297. are you okay? Can you image if somebody wronged you and you stop

  298. and you ask them, are you okay? How would that person respond?

  299. The person also will de escalate, and then you can seek to understand that

  300. person better and you can come to a better resolution right next. Whoever is

  301. patient has great understanding. But one who is quick tempered displays folly. So

  302. this is Proverbs fourteen twenty nine. So why did I choose this picture?

  303. Because this picture is an example of someone who is quick tempered and displays folly.

  304. Why do kid throw tantrums because they don't get their way? They are

  305. speaking and speaking and speaking. They don't care what the parents says, or

  306. the teacher says, or any what anyone says. And you know, what

  307. is the word folly is foolishness. And sometimes when you see the kids throwing

  308. tantrum, you feel like why in the world. You know, it's like,

  309. why why are you trying trum? You know, you know we are

  310. as a parent, you're trying to say it's for your own good. That's

  311. why we are not giving in, you know, or whatever it is.

  312. But and and we say that, hey, kids shouldn't throw tantrum and they

  313. should know better. How about us? How about us? When we don't

  314. get our way, we start speaking louder, we start speaking faster, we

  315. start cutting people off. We don't seek to understand. Instead, we become

  316. quick tempered. You know, So when you are quick to speak, you

  317. will be quick to anger. Because you quick to speak, someone else quick

  318. to speak, quick to speak quick. It'll be a race, you know,

  319. it's a race to see who blows first. And you know, in

  320. an argument usually no one wins. You can be right, but you burn

  321. bridges if you are using the way of escalation right next. So slow to

  322. anger is both a decision and a result. When you feel yourself getting angry,

  323. you know, anger right is a secondary emotion. It's you know,

  324. watching y'all watch that what's what's the Disney one about emotions? When the girl

  325. h yes inside out? Yes? So anger? Right? Anger is a

  326. secondary emotion. Why do you feel anger? It may be because of fear.

  327. It may be because you feel they are wronged in justice. It may

  328. be damn it, broken pride. You know, someone hantamula, but it

  329. says heer right. The Bible tells you slow to anger is both a decision

  330. and a result. So you have to choose to de escalate the situation.

  331. And this is challenging. Do you know that sometimes you will feel that your

  332. temper is going up? Right? Like I caught myself a few times with

  333. my kids, not a few times every day from my kidding, right,

  334. every day? Right? So you do? And then when I tell them,

  335. you don't want me to lose my temper, And actually I caught myself.

  336. Lose my temple means I have no control over it. I have no

  337. control over it. You know. That means right, they control my temper

  338. and I have no control over my anger at all, you know. And

  339. these are things that we are, we have grown up with, and you're

  340. so used to it that I caught myself so right now I'm trying to de

  341. escalate the situation, because I know when I escalate, I have It's there's

  342. so many stories where I tried my kids escalator the situation. I escalated,

  343. escalated at the end, both of us like when when he's grounded, I'm

  344. grounded now, So no one wins, you know, no one wins,

  345. no one wins at all, you know. But then I said, Okay,

  346. I need to be slow to anger. I need to understand. Of

  347. course, sometimes you understand why it still doesn't make sense. But but but

  348. at least you control your temper. Your temper is yours to lose. Don't

  349. give that power to somebody else. Don't give that power to somebody else,

  350. because if you give that power to somebody else, they will start controlling how

  351. you live, how you live, how you respond, how you react,

  352. what you do is controlled by other people. Right, ah, And next,

  353. okay, so this is verse twenty right because human anger does not produce

  354. the righteousness that God desires. So when you are angry, when you are

  355. angry, you know, and you flare up and you take it out on

  356. that person, you go rampage. What does the Bible say? And after

  357. that you say, hey, I felt good man, I gave it to

  358. the Fullow I gave it to the fullow No, he knows now, I

  359. gave him a piece of my mind. You keep giving everyone peace of your

  360. mind, you'll have no mind? How you know you have? Because what

  361. does the Bible say? Human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

  362. So I want they'll break it down a bit more. Thanks. What

  363. is righteous busness of God? Righteousness of God is the divine attribute that describes

  364. God as acting in a way that is consistent with his own character. How

  365. many of y'all are Christians? If you're Christian, you can put your hands

  366. up. How many of us are acting consistent with our character? What is

  367. Christian? Little christ? So when we are saying righteousness of God, are

  368. we acting in consistency with God's character? Because if we are not, then

  369. that's then we are living according to the flesh. So we need the righteousness

  370. of God. And that's what the righteousness of God is. Okay, next,

  371. all right, so right now you said, okay, quick to listen,

  372. slow to speak, slow to anger. So after you do this,

  373. right after that? Right, you got all the skills to convince everyone else

  374. to accept your idea. Is that the goal because that's what we think.

  375. We think that it gives these other tools for us to manipulate people to get

  376. what we want. But in actual fact, there are three agendas. There's

  377. our agenda, there's your agenda, and there's God's agenda. Our agenda is

  378. we want to get what we want. Your agenda is the person who you're

  379. arguing with. You know, might be a difference of our opinion, But

  380. what is God's agenda? God's agenda is not to be right. Next,

  381. don't settle for being right, make things right. If Jesus didn't come down

  382. to the world to say I'm right, if he need it, he didn't

  383. have to come down so long, you know, he came here to make

  384. things right. He valued relationships over being right. Do we value relationships?

  385. Do we value people over our opinions? Are our opinions more important to us

  386. than people? Because what is the great commandment? Love God, Love men?

  387. He didn't say love God, love your opinions. But that's how we

  388. react and respond. Sometimes if people do not agree with us, we cut

  389. them off. What is canceled culture. I spoke to about this before.

  390. People who don't agree with us, I cut you off and that is quick

  391. to speak, slow to listen, quick to anger. Jesus, right,

  392. how long was he on earth? Thirty three years? But you know the

  393. first thirty years was relatively quiet, you know, Okay, there could be

  394. many things. What he was doing in the first thirty years, you know,

  395. apart from the time when he was twelve years old he went to the

  396. temple, apart from that, is very quiet. But could it be that

  397. he was understanding, was quick to listen, to understand what all these people

  398. were going through. Of course he knows what they're going through. But when

  399. he began to speak when he was thirty three, when he was thirty years

  400. old, right, everyone listened to him. Why because they felt understood.

  401. He speaks in a way that I can understand, He understands me. And

  402. who was drawn to Jesus. It's not the Pharisees or the Saducees. It's

  403. people who were not religious at all. When we speak, are we just

  404. drawing Christians or are we drawing people from outside of the church, Because that's

  405. what Jesus did when he spoke. He spoke to understand. He spoke in

  406. a way that didn't condemn and say that my way and a lot of times.

  407. Right, Jesus answered a question with a question you know. That can

  408. be next time you get into an argument, use Jesus technique. You answer

  409. a question with a question you know, seek to understand more? Where is

  410. this person coming from? All? Right, so if I want to summarize

  411. that, right, next, The longer we listen, the more we learn,

  412. The more we learn, the less angry we will become. So cancel

  413. culture. Right, they do not take time to listen when we cut people

  414. off just because of what they believe in. You don't seek to understand,

  415. you don't align with me. I don't want to be friends with you.

  416. Actually, a good thing, right is you check your Facebook feed. Your

  417. Facebook feed right because of all the algorithms right will only display people who are

  418. in alignment to your world view. Because you like those pages, you comment

  419. on these things. But do you know and then after all you're like,

  420. hey, the whole world things like me. But no, it's just that

  421. you choose. But you know, if you go and try and like other

  422. stuff which is contrary to you, contrary to what you believe in, you

  423. will see that there is a whole there is out of the seven billion people.

  424. Do you think seven billion people agree with your worle point of view.

  425. No, but if you want to reach them, you have to understand them

  426. first. All right, So the last one, So how do we do?

  427. So? I told you the first one. The first point. Let

  428. me just bring it up again. We jump to the first point, Isaac.

  429. Yeah. So the first point is what we need to start doing is

  430. quick to listen. The second point, what we need to stop doing is

  431. quick to speak and quick to get angry. The third point is how are

  432. we going to get there? Right? How are we going to get there?

  433. We have to get rid of failth and humbly accept the word. Next,

  434. therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so

  435. prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

  436. The only way we can be quick to listen, slow to speak,

  437. slow to anger is by tapping into the word that is planted in us.

  438. Then you ask yourself, hey, without the with the is the word planted

  439. in you? Or not? If not, what is planted in you?

  440. Because if we are drawing things from the world, that is what is this

  441. uh directing how we react and respond to people. But we need the word

  442. of God to be planted within us. So Church, if you think about

  443. it, right, I just Isaac, can you just put the slide with

  444. the whole James one, I think it's slight four, so summarize it.

  445. This is the whole verse. If I read it out again, My dear

  446. brothers and sisters take note of this. Everyone should be quick to listen,

  447. slow to speak, slow to become angry, because why why do we do

  448. that? Because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. We

  449. have to become more like God. Right, Therefore, how are we going

  450. to do it? We get rid of all moral filth and the evil that

  451. is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can

  452. save you. It not only saves you, it saves all the relationships that

  453. you have. And if like I think, I appreciate this before, right,

  454. garbage in garbage. Now, if we are what is moral filed basically

  455. anything like you can see the moral I think if I take my moral textbook

  456. from last time, right, you know your SPM. You have moral textbook,

  457. And if I compare it against what is in the world today, maybe

  458. half of it is not even there because suddenly now right, everyone can do

  459. whatever they want. The moral compass is broken. The world's moral compass is

  460. broken. And if we are living by the world's moral compass, what will

  461. happen? That will be destruction because no one is dying to self. Instead,

  462. we are all saying that I am more important than somebody else. All

  463. right, And you know that this applies not only to our relationship with men,

  464. but also with our relationship to God. When we are going through a

  465. pit. Are we quick to speak against God? Are we quick to get

  466. angry against God? Are we slow to listen what He is telling us through

  467. the valley of the shadow of Death? Because that is how we get from

  468. the pit to the peak. If we want to continuously move from the pit

  469. to the peak, we have to always be quick to listen, slow to

  470. speak, slow to anger. And that's how we can according to the righteousness

  471. of God. Right. I just wanted to close with this story. So

  472. this this story also came to me this weekend only I was like tuning into

  473. this Christian radio station which I usually tune into my drive to work, and

  474. this guy got a testimony. Somebody called in with the testimony. Next line,

  475. uh is the last light I think so the testimony, Right, this

  476. guy called in and he says that I just want to thank God for this

  477. girl and the girl's name. I think, let me call what's the girl's

  478. name? Yeah, so the girl he wanted to thank God for yes,

  479. what's yes? Jillian? Say, he wanted to thank God for Jillian because

  480. then he share his story. He said, I just want to live my

  481. life now so that I can please God, and I want to live a

  482. life that will make Jillian proud as well. Right, So this guy he

  483. is very grumpy for according to his statumenty, he's a very grumpy guy who

  484. lives in his neighborhood. So every time he goes back home, right,

  485. I think all his neighbors are like scared of him. Just imagine the guy

  486. in Up, you know, imagine the guy in Appler, you know,

  487. very grumpy, very this thing and all this. So as he walked past

  488. on his way home, there was a girl selling lemonade and said that,

  489. hey, do you want one? And then the guy was just very rude.

  490. He said like no, I don't want any, you know, and

  491. then he walked on past. And then ten minutes later there was a knock

  492. on the door. And the girl handed him a cold glass of lemonade.

  493. It is for you, It's on the house, and the guy said,

  494. I don't want it. I told you I don't want it, all right,

  495. and then he closed the door and he opened the door. After that,

  496. the cold glass of lemonade was still there waiting for him. What he

  497. did, he took the closed cold glass of lemonade. He walked back to

  498. that house and told the girl's parents. I told her I don't want the

  499. lemonade. Can you stop? Can you tell your daughter to stop bugging me?

  500. And the parents took back the glass. This happened right for thirty days.

  501. There is every day when he got back from work, there was a

  502. cold glass of lemonade waiting for him at the dog and the guy every day

  503. he took that cold glass, went back to the parents' house and shouted at

  504. the gave it back and said that I told you I don't want it.

  505. Finally, on the thirtieth day, he took that glass and he broke.

  506. He started tearing and he drank that glass, that icy coal lemonade. He

  507. walked back to that girl's house, rang the bell, gave it back to

  508. the parents and said thank you so much, thanked Jillian for this, And

  509. what he got to know was that this family and Jillian, they just moved

  510. to his neighborhood two or three weeks ago because Jillian was sick and she had

  511. to go to the children's hospital that was nearby for treatment every single day.

  512. But regardless of that, right and regardless of what kind of insult that were

  513. thrown at her, this girl was quick to listen. She didn't listen to

  514. respond or react. She listened with her heart and she knew this guy was

  515. hurting. She knew this guy needed Jesus. And what happened They lend this

  516. guy to Jesus. And that's why this guy rode into the radio station and

  517. says, thank God for Jillian. Right now, I want to live my

  518. life in such a way to please God and in such a way that Jillian

  519. would be proud. But this could only happen right because Jillian was quick to

  520. listen, slow to speak, slow to get angry. Because of that,

  521. she had the righteousness of God who was there waiting waiting for us. God

  522. is waiting for us until we are ready to receive him. He's waiting for

  523. us. He cares for he loves us. So church right now is I

  524. just encourage us to just stand. We may be going through a difficult time.

  525. You might be angry at people. You might even be angry at God,

  526. but know that God loves us. God wants the best for us,

  527. even through the value of the shadow of death. We will fear no evil.

  528. He is with us. We hope you've been blessed by this message.
