  1. You're listening to a message to go from X Church. We hope this message

  2. will light up your day. I'm on this series, but I don't worry

  3. if I don't finish a series. Here. Every message is quite stand alone,

  4. and that's the reason why I'm doing this series, especially basically a series

  5. on the Book of x Uh, specifically X chapter two. And if you're

  6. new to X Church and you're not so, you know, just new to

  7. us, or maybe you've been extras for so long and you're wondering, hey,

  8. why why do you call themselves ex gest you know, and then sometimes

  9. when you go to southern hotels, they will misspelled it to be X and

  10. then we have to like correct them and say, no, no, no,

  11. it's acts church is because when Pastor started the church and he was praying

  12. for a name, God told him that God's because Pastor kind of he's the

  13. one that started our church. Is our funding senior Pastor. He actually retired

  14. ready by still we're busy funding in your pastor right now. The church is

  15. led by a group of leaders, and we are the main helm is led

  16. by you know, Elder Pinghole. He's executive pastor. He's been doing such

  17. a great job. We all love him, police be nice to him.

  18. He has to do a lot of things. Uh and uh and yeah,

  19. you know as gonna studies church in two thousand. Uh, you know,

  20. you know the story the lot let him and passa. Kenna is from the

  21. X generation. Generation X in our language is the boomer generation. Okay,

  22. boomer general. I think I'm a millennial. I think so, I think

  23. older. That's the term is elder millennial a bit older. Your generator is

  24. millionaire, right. Uh. And then after that, now we got gen

  25. Z and gen LFA right, Oh my goodness, getting more and more confusing.

  26. So so God told Pasta that I'm gonna change the X generation to an

  27. EX generation, and that was why the Lord let him. Then God led

  28. him to the Book of X because if you study church history, you realize

  29. that the first church started in the Book of Exta right after Jesus went to

  30. heaven, and then different things happened. And we're going to do a bit

  31. a study today because if you remember, I don't know why that I spoke

  32. here, no, right, you know, yeah, okay, I don't

  33. know when I ask spoke here, but we had P I C C.

  34. Right, you remember P i CEC Putrajaya International UH Convention Center. Yeah.

  35. I think before that I didn't speak here. So I've been having this sense

  36. that God is doing something in our church even before that, really this sense

  37. that God wants to move our church forward, you know. And because I

  38. had the privilege of leading XPJ, that's my home ground, you know.

  39. I always tell them that they will hear more from Mila, probably a bit

  40. harder. So sometimes because your own people, right you, you want them

  41. to catch it. Uh. And I've been telling them that, hey,

  42. you know, I mean having this sense that God is doing something. Uh.

  43. And right after p I CEC is Something's gonna happen. So God led

  44. me to this, to this book to share with the church, and I've

  45. been sharing different church plans. I just want to give you some contact on

  46. why because I believe uh, And I have come to learn that when as

  47. believers, all of you here, I pray most of you here, all

  48. of you are believers, meaning you believe in Jesus, you follow him.

  49. So you maybe not yet, It's okay, don't worry about it. I

  50. pray that He'll be real to you when we have more understanding, then we

  51. can grow in our faith. You'll catch that not knowledgere not not just information

  52. and information. You can know a lot now, but actually you don't practice

  53. on But when you're more understanding, you understand why things run the way things

  54. run. You understand why we have a church. You understand why we are

  55. planting what your plans so many church for you understand the why, then it's

  56. easier for you to participate, and it's easier for you to grow in your

  57. faith. But when you don't understand why, then I use this phrase,

  58. no wonder you're discourage. If you don't understand your favor, no wonder something

  59. happened, then you oh, you know, give up real change church.

  60. You know, don't want to see people because you don't understand your faith because

  61. sorry, don't know whty that this is what it's nice to use not believe

  62. in Jesus Wana, right, we don't prepare you guys. So a deeper

  63. understanding of the church, a deeper understanding of your faith, a deeper understanding,

  64. uh, would help us grow in our faith, would help us to

  65. be resilient, right because where's our foundation? You're get me? Hence why

  66. this message come? But okay? So X Chapter two ifreyting was X chapter

  67. two. This is the first part, and we're gonna talk about the Holy

  68. Spirit, okay. And why is the Holy Spirit significant for us as Christians?

  69. Why? Why is it? Because it is God's presence down on earth?

  70. Okay? So so if I give you a bit of a history.

  71. So, Jesus is a big deal, right, he came, He died

  72. for all since the Jews were expecting to be a savior. He came not

  73. just to save them, but to save all of us we are considered gentiles.

  74. And he came, he died across and he resurrected. Okay and uh.

  75. And and then after that he left, he said, I will leave

  76. you a helper, and he left the Holy Spirit. So today we're gonna

  77. learn a little bit. But the Holy Spirit, why is it significant?

  78. Okay? Uh? And why is it important to us? And why we

  79. must acknowledge it? It is very important for us as believers to to know

  80. that. Okay, Why must wear acknowledge? You know, there's a lot

  81. of thought and understanding about Holy Spirit. But I hope today you will give

  82. you some clarity on that, Okay, Because when we understand acknowledge your Holy

  83. Spirit, because right now we are you know we are Basically when you read

  84. the Bible, we are in between Revelation and all the other chapters. Know,

  85. the time we are living now is is in between revelation and all the

  86. other chapters. You're you're your catch that you're doing catch that Okay. The

  87. means that our lives now we are. We should add more pages to the

  88. Bible before we hit revelation. Okay, So let's do be all study.

  89. Okay. Let's see what time do I have? Okay, I go in

  90. an hour? You guys are okay? Okay, So let's start with foundation.

  91. Strong foundation you can build. Okay. I've learned that because I've been

  92. going to the gym and I've been able to to do three days a week

  93. now right, And people say that I've lost your way. Okay, I

  94. lose more and uh. And when you have a strong foundation, when your

  95. call is strong, you can do a lot of things stuff. Okay,

  96. but when your foundation strong, you' try and leave heavywe you'll follower. Okay,

  97. So you need a strong foundation. So what is our strong foundation as

  98. believers? Okay, let me ask you a question. Do you know what

  99. is the four Gospels or not? Do you know. Do you know where

  100. the Gospels came from? Or have you heard of this word gospel? You've

  101. heard your heart? Okay, do you know where it came from? Do

  102. you know where the good news came from? What is the good news?

  103. Sir? Think about it now? See, yeah, the whole Bible is

  104. a good news. Sah. Not really the good news is let's so let's

  105. talk a bit about it. The four Gospels are the good news? Okay?

  106. What are the four Gospels? The first four books in the New Testament,

  107. right, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These four books

  108. are eyewitness accounts, Eyewinness account. It is an eyewitness account of the life

  109. of this guy called Jesus, who proclaims that he is God, your catch

  110. it, who'd done many miracles and true that we understand our faith as Christians,

  111. very important for us to notice, very important. You don't know this

  112. air I fear for you because then when someone presents another fact and fiction and

  113. all that, you're like, oh, you know, actually humans are made

  114. from big bang, we came from monkeys. Then you're not sure you know

  115. your gospel? Not you know your gospel? Know your gospels? Okay?

  116. Know what you believe in that's the call of it. So what is the

  117. good news? This something always need to know. Uh, guys, okay,

  118. what is the good news. The good news is that Jesus came to

  119. this earth to die for all sins. The good news is, Oh,

  120. become Christian. You'll be happy. Oh you become Christian, then you get

  121. to meet nice people. Oh you become Christian, John, then you can

  122. get a wife and kid. Oh you become a Christian. Then Eric,

  123. God, well bless you are. That's the good news. Guys, that's

  124. not the good news. That is not the good news. Oh, become

  125. Christian, then you have Pea said, no, no, no, that's

  126. not the good news. The good news is Jesus came to this earth and

  127. die for all sins. Okay. Everything else I just mentioned is a byproduct

  128. of this understanding. It's not the main thing. The main thing is Christ

  129. came, died fall sins. He fulfilled the law. Because without Christ fulfilling

  130. the law, we have no connection with God. You'll get that very important

  131. for us to know. You don't know this, you better know it today.

  132. Does I have to start here before even go? Holy Spirit? Oh,

  133. Holy Spirit, No, understand this first, because without Jesus. Without

  134. understanding this, you cannot even reach Holy Spirit. Right. Understanding this gives

  135. you more meaning with the things you do in church as well. Right,

  136. he fulfilled the law. He redeemed us from our sin. All of us

  137. you have sin, all of us heres make mistakes, right, we have.

  138. No matter how perfect you think you live your life, we're all flawed.

  139. Okay. And the penalty of sin, unfortunately is death. Right.

  140. But because of Jesus, because of what he did on the cross, we

  141. can now have eternal life, and we can now become sons and daughters of

  142. God. Then all the whatever I mentioned just now is what happened. But

  143. Jesus first, that's the good news. The good news is not become Christian.

  144. You know something with tobalaka no no, no, no no. Jesus

  145. first. And when we come sons and daughters of God, we also become

  146. heirs of God. That is all written in the Bible. You can take

  147. my word verbatim and go and go and google it and find out it's all

  148. in the Bible. Okay. So the good news, friends, the good

  149. news is the story of redemption from sin and from evil. Right, the

  150. story of redemption that is a good news. We've got to know that,

  151. right, We got to know that, are you guys? Okay? And

  152. I was sharing with and of course part two is talking about the first evangelistic

  153. my sage. Today we just focus on the Holy Spirit. I hope you

  154. guys catch something from there, and I hope that whatever you catch will you

  155. will growing your faith? Okay, as a believer you were, you will

  156. it strengthen you, not just make you feel good, but strengthen your faith.

  157. Because why do we need to strengthen our faith? Because when bad things

  158. happen, we can stand on Jesus. When bad things happen, Guys,

  159. when good things happen, Now, you don't really need all these can I

  160. be honest? You know? Do you know how hard is it to pres

  161. to someone when the person have never experienced any trouble? But do you know

  162. when bad things happened, we really need your hold Jesus close closer, you

  163. know? Right? But when? So we got to think about that,

  164. okay, right, So okay, let me not go into that. So

  165. let's recap what happened now, Okay, So I established this a good news,

  166. so friends, and that encouragement go back and read the gospels Have you

  167. read through the gospels once, even before you want to read Bible cover to

  168. cover? Can you start reading the Gospel's person not? Do you know the

  169. miracles that Jesus did not? Do you know the words? Say not?

  170. We're supposed to be Christians full of christ. We don't even know what Jesus

  171. say, you know? And then we quote things like cleanliness is next to

  172. godliness? How many believe that with your heart of hearts? It's not from

  173. Bible? Are they one? Then we say it's from Bible. Read the

  174. read the scripture that you know what Jesus say and why he didn't say.

  175. Ah, very very very careful, because now now the thing that's being preached

  176. now, not by part not but preached by the world. Now it's acceptance.

  177. It is not repentance. It is acceptance. Let's accept everyone and everything.

  178. The church lost people they should accept. Yes, we accept, but

  179. you need to repent. You need to repent. Yes, you accept,

  180. but if you are sinning, you better stop sinning. See you know it's

  181. commonly No, no, no, it cannot be Jesus listening so much.

  182. You accept me for all I am. He will accept you, but you

  183. have to repent to receive eternal liive. You have to catch that, because

  184. if not, you're gonna be preaching half truth and half truth not truth.

  185. People. Do you know that people will not get set free if you just

  186. presh acceptance. They will not be set free. We will only be set

  187. free if we preach the food gospel, not half the gospel. The fool

  188. gospel is a gospel of repentance, the fool gospels of gospel of you know,

  189. following Christ. That is the full gospel. Amen. And whever we

  190. like it or not, it doesn't matter. It is the truth. Unfortunately,

  191. nowadays is so nice we go with what we like, only we're dangerous.

  192. No, friends, I don't like going to the gym, Can I

  193. confess I don't like going to the gym? Right? I tried to exercise

  194. past. Today's very difficult at home. Right when I go gym, I'll

  195. just go because I recondition myself. I hit it. I told you I

  196. don't like it. I rather just sit and eat and beans. But I

  197. have to do something I don't like. Things are not easy. Developing discipline

  198. is not really easy, but it's important that we do it. If I

  199. want to live longer, I have to exercise, whether I like it or

  200. not. Right. If I want to live longer, I have to watch

  201. what I eat, whether I like you or not. Amen. So let's

  202. go ex Chapter one. Okay. So the former account I made with your

  203. fellers of all that Jesus began both to do and teach until the day in

  204. which he was taken up, after he, through the Holy Spirit, had

  205. given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen, to whom he also presented

  206. himself alive after his suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during

  207. forty days, and speaking of things ptending of the Kingdom of God. Okay,

  208. So to go back to the Gospels. The Gospel is for Eyewinness accounts.

  209. Okay, Eyewinness accounts written by these people. Right. And then when

  210. you read except one, it writes that Jesus hang around with the disciples and

  211. different people for forty days after he resurrected. Now, why so long?

  212. What have you thought about it? When I read? I'm not huh?

  213. Why so long? Scripture says, to whom he presented himself alive after he's

  214. suffering by many infallible truths, he hang around so long? So that people

  215. cannot say fake one, fake news. He hang around for forty days to

  216. make sure everybody that still believes saw him, all the way until Thomas.

  217. Right, Thomas said, I don't believe Jesus alive, and then Sunny appeared

  218. behind him, Hello, look at my hands. Now do you believe?

  219. He's like, okay, you've got God. Sorry, sorry, right,

  220. And Jesus says, remember Jesus say in his word, blessed be to those

  221. that have not seen, but believe. Do you know he's talking about who

  222. you guys, do you see Jesus? Do you look at his hands?

  223. No, none of us see it. But blessed more are we who didn't

  224. see. But he had to hang around for forty days, and then only

  225. he went to heaven. How wonderful God is. God is so practical.

  226. Know some nice we don't aware read this. I'm like, wow, God,

  227. you are so practical. You infallible? No, that means you cannot

  228. deny. No, you cannot deny that fake one. No. I know

  229. a lot of people deny the resurrection of Christ. His body is don't have

  230. to be found, our guys, they cannot find his body. He's gone

  231. back to heaven. Really, he hang around for forty days? Right,

  232. go. I think it's very interesting when you study why God did certain things.

  233. You know, and if you have a like I said, if you

  234. have a stronger understanding of your faith and the word, you won't be sweet.

  235. Ready, people will come and try to deceive you. You won't be

  236. deceived. You'll say, no, no, this is true if you study

  237. how why why did Jesus come on the Roman Empire? Okay, I'm gonn

  238. answer those questions. I'm just trying thought so they can go to your own

  239. study why did Jesus come on the Roman Empire? He came for that time

  240. when he can come earlier, when you come later? Why not come now?

  241. Now? Better? Right? He come then straight away? Can see

  242. why didn't now got ai? If he come down? People say fake news.

  243. Last time got no Ai. So it has to be true. He

  244. came in a time where they a lot that there were a lot of references

  245. of this guy named Jesus so much not knowingly the Bible right now, every

  246. everybody else. Right, if you go back and you read the different names

  247. here, you can find out that they are real. One. It's not

  248. storyable this history. That's why the gospel is considered an eyewitness account. We

  249. gotta remember that it is not storyable, It is not a It is an

  250. eyewitness account. When you read it as an eyewitness account, you read it

  251. differently. Amen, Come, let's continue reading and being assembled together with them,

  252. he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the

  253. promise of the Father, which he said, you have heard from me.

  254. For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy

  255. Spirit not many days from now. Therefore, when they had come together,

  256. they asked him, saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the

  257. kingdom of Israel? And he said to them, it is not for you

  258. to notice things all seasons which the Father has put in his own authority.

  259. But you shall receive power when the Holy spread has come upon you, and

  260. you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and Samaria,

  261. and to the end of the earth. Now, when he had spoken these

  262. things, while they watched, he was taken up, and a cloud received

  263. him out of their sight. And when they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he

  264. went up, behold two men stood by them in white, a barrel.

  265. So as they was looking. Imagine now they were looking at Jesus go up

  266. to heaven, and everybody is still looking quite oppy. I think, abo

  267. one hundred and te people. We'll hang out with him there looking up waiting

  268. for something that happened. And then two guys in white sunny looked like tap

  269. their shoulder and say, what did they say? Men of Galilee, why

  270. do you stand gazing up into heaven? The same Jesus who has taken up

  271. from you into heaven will come in like a manner as you swum good to

  272. heaven. What are you standing here? He went up to heaven ready.

  273. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mound called Olivert, which is near Jerusalem,

  274. a seventh day's journey. When they entered, they went up into the

  275. upper room where they were saying, Peter James, John and Andrew Philip,

  276. and Thomas Bartholomew, and Matthew James the son of Alfaeus, and Simon the

  277. Zeilad, and Judas the son of James. This all continued, We want

  278. to call in prayer and supplication with the woman and marry the man of Jesus

  279. and with his brothers. Okay, so what happened after Jesus ascended to happen

  280. heaven. So he told us, or he told the disciples, that he

  281. will send a helper, the Holy Spirit. Okay, he will be our

  282. helper, right, our counselor, and true the Holy Spirit. We will

  283. become witnesses. The Holy Spirit will also give us power X Chapter one,

  284. verse eight. It says that, okay, right, let me go to

  285. except the two Okay, and this is where we'll be sharing from today.

  286. I'm going to read from except the Two US one. When the day of

  287. Pentecosts had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place,

  288. and suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing, mighty

  289. wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then they

  290. appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one set upon each of

  291. them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to speak

  292. with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And they were dwelling in

  293. Jerusalem, Jews development from every nation under heaven. When this sound occurred,

  294. the multitude came together. They were confused because everyone heard them speak in his

  295. own language. When They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another,

  296. look are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that

  297. we hear each in our own language in which we were born, Passions and

  298. meats and Alamites. Those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and

  299. Asia, Furygia and Pampalia, Egypt, and the Pats of Libya, adjoining

  300. Sirene visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes. So it was no just

  301. Jews. There were other people there prosselyze. I think people who intermarry.

  302. If I'm not mistaken, Okay, I need to clarify that again, Cretans

  303. and Arabs. We hear them speaking in our own tongues, the wonderful works

  304. of God. So they were all amazed and perplexing to one another. Whatever

  305. could this mean? Others mock saying they are full of new wine. So

  306. Jesus went back to heaven, Bye bye Jesus. So now what he came

  307. around. He briefed the disciples for three years, saying that I'm gonna die,

  308. I'm gonna go to heaven. This is all going to happen, and

  309. then he gave the last commandment, Go therefore make disciples of all nations,

  310. baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy

  311. Spirit, and teaching them all that I've commanded you. So the three years

  312. that they will hang out with Jesus was was degreella. Now the apostles got

  313. degreella degree in Christianity. La, okay, because they hang out with Jesus.

  314. Go right, and then what they're supposed to do, uh don't know.

  315. Hello, make disciples, lah, go and Bill are going. But

  316. before that, wait for the Holy Spirit. And that's what they did.

  317. Did they straight away come together, okay, you know what, guys,

  318. let's start the church. No, they didn't do that. Did they say,

  319. okay, guys, come, let's start a group. No, they

  320. didn't do that. What did they do? They prayed? Where in the

  321. upper room you know it's the upper room or not? The upper room can

  322. feed one hundred and twenty people. No, that's huge. I don't know

  323. how big is it, but I think the upper room could be this big.

  324. Can feel about how many people, but one hundred one hundred people maybe

  325. slightly beginning this, start the upper room, you know, the upper room,

  326. right, in that place is a place where they stay so imagina in

  327. our contexts, you know those like uh, groceries, like grocery like those

  328. griroom chip shoplot, second floor, it's like that. That was where the

  329. disciples were and what were they doing? Two things, two key things.

  330. Number one, they were in one accourt. They were together. They didn't

  331. argue one another. They were all together. They don't know what to expect.

  332. They didn't say this is better, that it's better. No, they

  333. were all together. The second thing that happened was they prayed. They were

  334. having a prayer meeting. Guys, they were having a prayer meeting before they

  335. did anything. While they were waiting for the Holy Spirit. They didn't knew

  336. what was gonna happen. No, they didn't. They had to wait for

  337. the Holy Spirit to finally know what to do. Before that, they didn't

  338. know. Before that, they were fel ful before that, a lot of

  339. things that are not sure. They just obeyed. They came together to pray.

  340. They did what Jesus did. Jesus praad man. So they prayer.

  341. Okay, I don't know whether this is not anybody since when the last time

  342. you went for prayer service? Think about it, they prayed, they had

  343. a prayer service, their Holy Spirit came, No, do you want more

  344. of going in your life? Some of these things you got to do,

  345. you know, can I can I pause here and share a litbeit of things

  346. for you? So I used a contact of sorry I am I. I

  347. don't want to use it, but I use gym because that's the thing I'm

  348. doing right now. Okay. So in the context of that, right,

  349. I learned that, well, I kind of know that doing something good is

  350. difficult, and you got to develop discipline. And the thing about discipline is

  351. that if you set your your your bar too high, right, your give

  352. upment, you know. So I progress I I I knew that I really

  353. had a goal. My goal was to look like Albert Link that's a goal.

  354. Yeah, I tell you, never mind, let's not go there.

  355. But yeah, that's that's that's the goal. Okay, there's him it okay,

  356. and he's way more of it than me. Uh he's my coach.

  357. So that's my goal. But if I just look at him as a goal,

  358. right, a give upment because he's he's ripedman. So I had to

  359. set small goals. And one thing that I I did first in the beginning

  360. of the year was to say, okay, I will go jim at least

  361. once a week and make it normal. Okay, make it because it's forced

  362. yourself to do it. And I think I've used different chest pan and say

  363. okay, I'm going to grin tomorrow, then that now now, and then

  364. from there I story progress from once a week to two times a week.

  365. Now I go three times a week and it's normal. Normal meaning I forced

  366. myself go. I will pack my back. Once I pack my back,

  367. I'm going ready. You know that kind of thing, right, and the

  368. desire to not want to go is less. Okay. The other thing that

  369. I'm trying to do now is I'm trying to exercise at home. I only

  370. managed to do it once in the past three months. Difficult, I got

  371. ways, I bought everything. It's just more like getting myself do it because

  372. one because the other problem is my my gym stuff and all is right in

  373. front of my TV, and the couch is there so I can set everything

  374. up. But the moment I say on the couch, I'm like, actually,

  375. I had a long day. I should wrestle. You know. I'm

  376. doing it because I need to be healthy. Right, And of course I

  377. inspire myself because so recently I when to watch the show You're Low, very

  378. inspirational. Okay, the main character lost fifty kg in one year, so

  379. I'm like, oh, I just need lose twenty kg, so not so

  380. bad, you know. So my goal is the end of the year,

  381. right, I'm working very hard to develop a physical discipline. How many of

  382. us here realize that we actually need to develop our spiritual disciplines in life?

  383. Why why do I encourage people to do their quiet time? Why do we

  384. in courage we will come for prayer service? Why do we encourage people come

  385. to church? Friends? If you if your highest discipline is coming to church

  386. on Sunday, then I think you've been deceived. You've been deceived by by

  387. thinking that that's enough. You know, if I just tell myself, oh,

  388. you know what, I just exercised five minutes Eric, well, no,

  389. of course he goes to the gym five minutes one week enough. Even

  390. doctors say twenty minutes a week. And then recently I soke the doctor,

  391. I said at least three times a week half an hour. I'm like,

  392. you know, now I'm clocking in a one hour every time I go to

  393. the gym one hour, why because I have to rest, Not because I

  394. do one hour. I had to rest, you know. But it feels

  395. good when you see and you track. And as I'm building this physical discipline,

  396. I realized so that as Christians, we need to build our spiritual discipline.

  397. It takes time and effort and building. Guys, it doesn't happen like

  398. that, you know. And you know, I would love that the Holy

  399. Spirit will come and just bum you know. And I'm like, oh,

  400. I suddenly lose everything I wish. I cannot. I have to work on

  401. it. I have to measure, I have to look I have to look

  402. at my weight, I have to watch why. It is a constant,

  403. constant building. And I realized that, hey, as believe us, we

  404. need to think about that. And no, our spiritual discipline, we got

  405. think about it or not. We build on a lot other things, but

  406. what about our spiritual spirit man, you know? Or do we lose to

  407. our flesh or do we lose to our minds? Or do we convince ourselfs

  408. I convince myself to sit on the couch when I set out everything, I

  409. should actually convince myself to go and exercise. So I realized it's a building

  410. and it's your choice. And you guys, nobody can force you one.

  411. You cannot say oh you know, you know because Eric never goes, so

  412. I can't do that. Eric doesn't go to the same gym with me.

  413. You know, you get what I mean? So can we not be deceived

  414. or the so hadla to go prayer service? You know, don't don't know?

  415. It is hard? Can I tell something? It is hard to develop

  416. discipline? It is? It is okay, So get that off the of

  417. the list. City Then the question is what can you do to build your

  418. spiritual discipline? There's a question how how can you grow in your faith?

  419. Right? Coming on Sunday to me is not enough? Not enough? You

  420. know. It's the same like I just cut down you know why I'm on

  421. for a gym now. I've been trying to lose weight and I cut down

  422. my foot and somehow I cannot manage to and arrest. I just have to

  423. start exercising right, And then now I realize maybe because of my age,

  424. my weight has not dropped. No, Eric, I don't know why they

  425. say I build mysel ou. I can see the fact going now and on

  426. but I'm like, if we're still save weight, you know, then some

  427. people say oh immediately or drop Some girls say after you do six months,

  428. then you build mysel the only drop them like Okay, I don't know who

  429. to listen to, you know, but I still have to do it anyway.

  430. So, friends, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, can you

  431. think about building a spiritual discipline this week? It doesn't have to start with

  432. one hour prayer to our prayer, start with five minutes la a day.

  433. Then after they increase it. Then after they increase it. If let's say

  434. it's difficult for you to do it at home, then come to the gymna,

  435. come to church, go for prayer service, go for homes. Those

  436. are opportunities for you to videos or spiritual discipline. You know, read the

  437. Bible, bring your Bible. These are all things that you need. No,

  438. don't be deceived by convenience. It will be difficult. It will be

  439. difficult, but it's important for us to grow. And then when our spreadmen

  440. is strong, when we face challenges in life, we know who our God

  441. is. But if our spreammen is not strong, no wonder we easily fall

  442. when something happens. So let's build our spiritual discipline, you guys. Okay,

  443. So it started with a prayer MEI thing at the upper room where they

  444. were staying. They all continued with prayer and supplication. They were all united.

  445. You know what will make God's glory and presence come down to xb you

  446. if all of you here are united. Very simple. Unity doesn't mean a

  447. unity, just means agreement unit. It just means we're together. Yes,

  448. we're all different, Yes we all have other ideas, but we're all together.

  449. We're all together. I trust the leader. I'm here. I want

  450. to experience God. If all we experienced one, If all we are together,

  451. and that I can tell you, very easy for God to come down,

  452. Very easy. Amen. About one hundred and twenty disciples were there,

  453. those who believed, those who believe were there. They fulfilled scripture by choosing

  454. Mattias to take Juda's place. Okay, this is another thing that happened.

  455. I won't go too deep into it, but basically, when you read before

  456. the Holy Spirit came, there was a scripture in the Bible that says,

  457. for it is written in the Book of Psalms, let his dwelling place be

  458. desolate and let no one live in it, let another take his office.

  459. So then the disciplers said, hey, you know what Judas, Yes he

  460. betrayed Jesus, but he was a disciple we recognize, and based on scripture,

  461. someone needs to take his office. And of course they drew lots.

  462. They chose two people, Matthias and uh Basabus Messiah Matthias and Bassabus. They

  463. drew loss and Matthias to keep paid. So Matthias took the trouble spot right

  464. among the Bosceles. Why did they do that? I don't know, just

  465. because scripture Sailah did Jesus say? I think he didn't mention nowhere in the

  466. Bible we read mass job nowhere. They just forf scripture and what happened after

  467. that? The Holy Spirit came. This just tells me that some things in

  468. life, especially when the Bible says it no need to pray on, just

  469. do This just tells me that you're believing for a breakthrough. Are you following

  470. what the gods would say, following her, not picking and choosing her?

  471. Are you praying for breakthrough in your life and you're not seeing it happen?

  472. Ask God, God, can you reveal anything about my life that I need

  473. to get right with you. You know, we we have this perception that

  474. God is a center Claus. Well, he's good, like he would do

  475. things for us, La, but we need to follow his work Lae.

  476. There is another thing that we need to remember, you know, we need

  477. to follow this word. So they fulfilled scripture right, and when they fulfilled

  478. scripture, the spirit came. So what is the day of the Pentecost?

  479. The Pentecost was basically the fiftieth day. It's the second week of three great

  480. Jewish Jewish peace celebrated Jerusalem early the seventh week after the Passover. I grateful

  481. recognition of the completed harvest. So I went in DBL study LA and basically

  482. it happened on that day because there are a lot of people there. Just

  483. that and of course now we're using the word Pentecost. Course it's a significant,

  484. but it just happened on that day. Of course I think you can

  485. read into it, but I think it just happened. So happened everybody's there,

  486. because I don't think everybody's in Jerusalem all the time. But imagine a

  487. big imagine we have, I don't know, not Christmas. Maybe we have

  488. Medeca right, and then suddenly one will, one will hotel a lot of

  489. people, and then the Holy Spirit came. I think God's where practical,

  490. no, when they make things happen right, because when it came, there

  491. was a sound of a rushing wind, and everybody around here could hear it.

  492. And they came to the source of the sound. They didn't go and

  493. preach to everybody, you know. The people came wondering what happened now,

  494. and then they saw people speaking in their own tongues. They saw, you

  495. know, people talking about God. They saw that's what happened, right,

  496. So the disciples were together united. There was a sound from heaven, a

  497. rushing mighty win. There were tongues of fire in each of them. Holy

  498. Spirit feeled them. So that was significant because the Holy Spirit came right,

  499. they all spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And then a

  500. crowd came and observed what was happening, and they were confused. They recognized

  501. who they were from. They recognized that the Galileans, but the Galileans right

  502. spoke in different languages and they were amazed. So some and they didn't just

  503. speak simply speak, you know. They spoke about God's wonderful works. They

  504. glorified God. Right. What was the crowd response? There were those that

  505. were amazed, Wow, you guys are doing great stuff. Xbo Wow,

  506. you guys are really reaching out. They tried to make a sense of it.

  507. How come you're also happy on that even though trouble happened? What's different

  508. about you? The disciples were proclaiming God's mighty works in all the languages that

  509. they all know. We spoke in the same lingo. They spoke in the

  510. same lingo with them, so that people understood. But there were those that

  511. doubted. There were those that be unsure. Some say, these guys are

  512. drunk. That's what they say. These guys are just drunk. So don't

  513. be surprised that when you reach out to your friends and when you share about

  514. things, there will be those that reachect you. You have people that say

  515. wonderful and your people say you're crazy. Don't be surprised. You know Bible

  516. ready, even with such a wonderful, crazy thing that happened, there will

  517. be bird say, ah, this is not true. One, So don't

  518. be surprised. There will be those that doubted. Amen, and the rest

  519. is in Part two Lake, But let's talk about the Holy Spirit today.

  520. God gave us the Holy Spirit. He gave us not just the apostles.

  521. No, everyone here. If you're here and you profess that Jesus Christ is

  522. Lord, you repent and you're following him. The Holy Spirit's review. Okay,

  523. the Holy Spirit review. Okay. Of course we can go into the

  524. technicality of infeeling of the Holy Spirit and tongues and all. But let's just

  525. to today. Okay. Let me tell you why it is the Holy sprait

  526. important. Okay, let me just go through that He gave us the Holy

  527. Spirit to help us with the last commandment that Jesus left us. What is

  528. the last commandment, Matthew twenty eight, nineteen twenty Go there for make disciples

  529. of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son

  530. the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that have commanded you and

  531. law and with you always even to the end of the age. Amen.

  532. Right, Christ is with us, true the Holy Spirit. Now later on

  533. he will come back and be with us. Okay. So who is the

  534. Holy Spirit and why is he important? First point, he is God.

  535. The Holy Spirit is God. Can we go to the next time? Yeah,

  536. first Quarentians six nineteen. Or do you not know that your body is

  537. the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have

  538. from God and you are not your own It's we're powerful statement, No,

  539. this one. We don't live our lives for our own anymore. Once we

  540. say I follow Christ, right, we are submitted to him. That is

  541. the agreement we make right, So it's not us. We need to recognize

  542. that he's God, spirit of God, his presence. Why is it significant

  543. before Jesus died on the cross, the spirit of God was limited to the

  544. temple. Why? Because the spirit of God is so powerful? Right,

  545. if it comes out, people die. That's what happened in the temple,

  546. decide the precept to cleanse himself off. So my far. No, you

  547. want to talk to God? Now, you can talk to God so easily,

  548. right, because of that, God's prays with all of us. That's

  549. why we can pray to him. He's not far far away. You know.

  550. Recently I spoke to someone. I said, where is God in your

  551. life? Then the person like, do not answer that? I said,

  552. he's God far or near? God is far? I told him. God

  553. is not far. You are far. God is always next to you.

  554. We feel that God is far because we don't understand that God is always here.

  555. We are far, we run away. God is always with us.

  556. He's always there. Amen, He's the gift. He's a gift when we

  557. repent and a baptize X chapter to of us. They eight, he is

  558. a gift to us. He's not just give what's the condition? Say,

  559. oh, unconditioned? Well, actually there's a condition. Repent and be baptized,

  560. repair repentance. I shared a bit about it just now. Repentance is

  561. important. I highly hear that. Nowadays we just say except except no,

  562. no, no, no, no, you got to repent. Stop it.

  563. Stop doing the things they're not supposed to do. Stop God, kids

  564. here, stop watching porn. What is the value we have of our own

  565. lives? Right? I can see girls here don't know what and just say

  566. stop going on Instagram and one thing to be like what you see on Instagram?

  567. How are we valuing ourselves? How does God see you? Do you

  568. think God sees you that way? Please put on a bikini, jun Joe

  569. cannot make sure it's tire and pink color. Oh my goodness, I can't

  570. believe that you see me an example. But you get what I mean,

  571. right? Why do you say it as our benchmark? Friends? I'm not

  572. against dressing weller, don't get me wrong. Please dress well, do all

  573. those things is good? But what is your value? Think about it?

  574. How does God value you? Do you need to do these things? I

  575. would say no, need I was, and I'm not being square square need

  576. to wear like none? No, no, no, that's not what I'm

  577. saying. Don't get me wrong. I just question why you dressed the way

  578. you dress. What is the value you put on your life? What is

  579. the value you put There's so much trash out there, guys. We need

  580. to repent. Say Lord, I don't need to do these things to have

  581. identity. You gave me your identity. I don't need all these things.

  582. Amen, He's a gift to us. Repent and let anyone of you be

  583. baptize in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and

  584. you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Okay, let me tell

  585. you why it's a gift, and I'll talk about it a bit later.

  586. We'll just go through it. He's a gift He is the Spirit of truth.

  587. Right John chapter fourteen. Let's read. If you love me, keep

  588. my commandments, and I will pray the Father, he will give you another

  589. helper that he may abide you forever, our friends, if he abide you.

  590. Whoever means God is far near? Neah, no far, no far?

  591. What is our understanding of God? He's near. That's why when we

  592. pray and we whisper, he can hear. That's why it's some nice.

  593. Some will say, I pray in my heart he also here because he's God

  594. as far I canot hear you and know. That's why Elijah can joke.

  595. Hey, you better shout loud Allah for you God to hear you. What's

  596. next? He spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither

  597. sees him nor knows him. This is a very important point the world,

  598. your friends. People cannot understand the Holy Spirit because they don't see him.

  599. Because the first point is receiving Christ, being baptized and repenting. Then the

  600. Holy Spirit come. Then you will see. But people who don't do that

  601. won't see you. One the side sometimes, well, you know, there's

  602. this thing about how people don't see what we see as believers. They're blinded.

  603. But they can believe in a lot of other things, but they cannot

  604. believe or believe. So the first step is that but you know him,

  605. friends, for he dwells with you and will be in you. That is

  606. Holy Spirit? Is it another one? I will not leave your offense.

  607. I will come to you this Jesus promise. Jesus went back to heaven.

  608. Really, guys, I know we pray to him and all, but he

  609. went by Heaven. Ready, you know who's left here on this earth?

  610. The Holy Spirit. Why is it important to know that he's the spirit of

  611. truth? Because if we're ever in doubt or deception, pray to God the

  612. Father. He will reveal truth to your hearts. And not just that.

  613. Compare it with the word of God. Who is influencing your life on a

  614. daily basis? Is it yourself? Is it the world? Is it the

  615. spray of God? Do you know that the more you connect with God,

  616. the more He will influence you. The more you connect with the world,

  617. the more you use the world to evaluate your actions. Is very difficult for

  618. the Holy Spirit to speak to you. So what is the influence in your

  619. life? Right now? Got to think about that. Right, got to

  620. think about that. But do you know that when the Holy Spirit influences you,

  621. he gives you truth, He tells you things that will set you free.

  622. He makes you realize things that you shouldn't do. And that's what the

  623. Holy Spirit does for us. You don't have to be you know, you

  624. don't have to be a pastor to experience the Holy Spirit. Know, right,

  625. it's very important. He is our helper, comforter, and counselor John

  626. fourteen twenty six. He is, That's what John fourteene says. But the

  627. helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,

  628. He will teach you all things, teach you all things, bring to your

  629. remembrance all things that I've said to you. The word that the Bible uses,

  630. the word that was written here, is s paraclatos. It means someone

  631. called to someone's side, a helper, right, he called to someone's aid,

  632. one who pleads another court, another's cause before a judge, a pleader,

  633. counsel for defense. He's our legal assistant. Recently, I had to

  634. apply for a granted provide for my late mom, and I had a lawyer,

  635. and the lawyer brief me on a lot of things. I had to

  636. go to court to appear because I was the executioner of the will. I

  637. tell you, if I don't have the lawyer there right, I'll be so

  638. faked out. I'll be so faked out because it's carried to send from our

  639. judge. You know. So we need we need the Holy Spirit to help

  640. us. He pleads for our cause. He is an intercessor for us.

  641. You know, the Bible says when you don't know what to pray, pray

  642. in tongues and the Spirit will pray. Yeah, that's true. He intercedes

  643. for us. Sometimes we just either distraught or just don't know what to pray.

  644. Holy Spirit, you take over. I really tired ready, I don't

  645. know to pray. And then when we get into that, he gives us

  646. peace. Then I'm sure some of you have experiences. I pray most of

  647. you will experience it. Beyond the peace, he gives you a way forward,

  648. a hope in the future. That's why he gives you amen. He

  649. might not show you everything, but at least the first step, and then

  650. when you are brave enough to take the first step, he will show it

  651. the second step. That's why he's a helper in life, in every situation,

  652. not just in Bible stuff, in relationships, in business, in family.

  653. If you are able to humber yourself and listen to the Lord, then

  654. he will lead you. Amen. He helps us in our weaknesses. I

  655. love this one. He helps us in our weaknesses Romans eight, twenty sixt

  656. eighty. Let's read it likewise. The Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses.

  657. But we do not know what we should pray for as we ought to

  658. be. The Spirit himself makes an intercession for us with groanings which cannot be

  659. attered like sorry. Now, he who suggests the hearts no one. The

  660. mind of the spray is because he makes intercessions for the saints according to the

  661. will of God. See, according not to our wheeler, according to God's

  662. will. Why sometimes don't happen in our life although we pray, it is

  663. not God's will? Not yet maybe so you gotta trust, You gotta trust,

  664. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love

  665. God. Do we believe in this line or not? God? No matter

  666. what, Now I know, because I love you, it will work for

  667. good. Even though it didn't happen, even though I pray so hard and

  668. it didn't happen. I know it's going to be good to those who are

  669. called according to his purpose. You know. I like that the Holy spray

  670. house with witnesses. Let me give you an example. I've shared before that

  671. I have an anger issue, okay, right, And the thing about guys,

  672. especially in my age, Right, once you reach a certain level,

  673. you kind of unless you submit yourself to other people, right, you will

  674. have ego to the point you won't listen to anybody because you know better.

  675. Okay, good or bed, I don't know, lah, Okay, I'm

  676. just gonna say it, lad, But the Holy Spirit speaks to me,

  677. you know, he speaks to me. I don't know why I shaid this

  678. before. There was once my son, when he was six, he did

  679. something wrong okay, that he shouldn't do, okay, wear minut stuff.

  680. And I was very stressed out. I was tired. I shouted at him

  681. really badly, like shout until he cried, and then I put him to

  682. bed and I went and sleep angry. Right, I was justified. I

  683. was tired. I was stressed out. Of course, some of your psychologists,

  684. but oh no, you got your chiug gonna have trauma after the city,

  685. right, And he was right that he did wrong. At six a

  686. m. I woke up, Elvin apologized, your son, but God,

  687. he did wrong. I didn't do anything wrong. I'm teaching him he needs

  688. to do better. That was not right. I knew in my heart of

  689. hearts that I shouldn't have done that. So I'm like, can I stay?

  690. Wake up? What do I do? Do you know that it was

  691. humiliating for a forty old men to go to a six years and say I'm

  692. sorry. So at seven o'clock I woke up. I said, okay,

  693. God, I'll do it anyway. I don't want to do And when I

  694. woke my son up, six year oma so he wake up happy like hey

  695. like like nothing like that. So of course in my mind like and no

  696. need to apologize? Okay right, and God said no apologize. I went

  697. to him. I said, boy, I'm sorry about yesterday. I shouldn't

  698. have shot at you. Okay, daddy no like And then that I had

  699. to stop. I had to son, hold on, listen to me.

  700. Then he like, okay, okay, what is it? I said,

  701. son, I'm so sorry? Can you forgive me? Now? You look

  702. at me? Okay that I forgive you? I needed it to go through.

  703. And it was so humbling for me, you know. And then I

  704. went back to that we got him ready and error, and then I as

  705. I as I reflected on it in my own life until today, my parents

  706. have never said sorry to me. Never. My parents are believers an my

  707. late mom too late. Really, she's never really I can't expect her to

  708. do it, you know. But but again I'm not. I'm not blaming

  709. them. I love my parents, I love my dad, okay, but

  710. they've never done it to me, so I have no reference point. But

  711. the revelation came when I did that. It was not for me, it

  712. was for him. Because now my son six years old, have a reference

  713. point that he's daddy. When make mistake, can apologize and because my daddy

  714. can do it, I can do it. If I didn't do that,

  715. he will not have any reference point. Then when we say, you know,

  716. when someone may be angry, you need to ask for forgiveness, he

  717. will not have any real life reference point. By humbling myself, did I

  718. do you? Guys? Honestly, I got no time to think about all

  719. these things or on a daily basis something wrong with just go on, Nila.

  720. But after that, when I reflected, I knew why God asked me

  721. to apologize. That's why the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. I'm

  722. not a psychologist, sir, but psychologists say, yeah, that's a good

  723. idea. How many of you every day wake up? You're thinking about these

  724. things all the time. I'm not. No, so you have a dynasy

  725. and make me six man right and come on, parents, okay, you

  726. know where you know, you know your kids will like press the wrong buttons

  727. on your life and right right. But but the Holy spirits are when that

  728. gets me. There is one testimony I'm sure some of you hear you will

  729. have how the Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses when we want to say

  730. no, no, no, and then God says better say yes, and

  731. they're like, ah, okay, you do it even though it's painful,

  732. even though it's hard. And then you see where the Lord is leading.

  733. Amen. When the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we have food or the

  734. spirit. I don't think it's that Galicians five twenty two. You can go

  735. back and read it for yourself. And of course it's something we know in

  736. EXCEPTO one. But my God treat it says it the Holy Spirit gives us

  737. power. This is the other thing that we get. That's why when we

  738. pray in Jesus' name, it is not our power, No, it is

  739. the Holy Spirit power. So in a way, right, you don't have

  740. any responsibility over it when when you pray, your responsibility is only to pray.

  741. So have you all started praying more or not? Your responsibility is not

  742. for the healing, you know. That's God's problem. But God say you

  743. pray, So think about it. If his responsibility is to heal, and

  744. my responsibility is to pray, and I don't even pray, can he work

  745. through me for the healing? Cannot? So what did? It makes sense

  746. for me to just do what I need to do and then when God heals,

  747. he heals. That makes sense on that And I hope all of you

  748. here believe that God can healer. When he heals, how he does it,

  749. it's entirely up to him, it's not me. But my responsibility is

  750. to pray. My responsibility is to ask for healing. My responsibility is to

  751. believe there is something we need to remember, you know. So he gives

  752. us power because it says here in Zachariat for six not by mine, not

  753. by power. But by my Spirit, says the lot. Just give you

  754. an idea about who the Holy Spirit is. I hope you have an understanding.

  755. He's actually very important, very important person in our life that we got

  756. to remember. And again, I know there are different trains of thoughts.

  757. Some say Holy Spirit normal, some saying guys, can you don't listen to

  758. manner? Can you just read the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible do I

  759. ritna that all those things are happening. Don't listen to Bible commentary. Read

  760. the Bible for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Then

  761. you know what is true. Amen. We hope you've been blessed by this

  762. message. For more information on our church, please visit as Church Org.
