You're listening to a message to go from axt church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. I want to teach on something. It might
-
be a little bit deep for an afternoon message, but bear with me.
-
Bear with me because you know there's a portion uh not of scripture, but
-
there's a portion of our team for this year, which of course is Heaven
-
Rules. And then a lot of people miss the bottom part of it.
-
Anyone knows what the bottom part of it says Heaven Rules. And then there's
-
something that connects and makes it more comprehensible. You don't notice it says towards
-
the finishing line. I'm not sure if everyone anyone has ever seen that part,
-
just like yes, yes, yes, it's actually on the stage line
-
if you are at DVCC uh and there is, like I said, that's
-
the second part to it, towards the finishing line. And so I want
-
to share a little bit on what, uh what it really looks like?
-
What does the finishing line really mean? What does it look like? In
-
short, I want to teach on end times today, okay, and I'm
-
going to see if I can do it in one hour. It's possible,
-
But again, it may not be sufficient or doing justice to it, but
-
I just want to give your glimpse of what to expect, have a little
-
bit of knowledge on it, because it's not something that is often taught only
-
because sometimes different ones have got different ways of looking and how it will all
-
eventually come to an end. But it's not all doom and gloom. Okay.
-
I'm not here as a doomsday prepper, but it's good sometimes for us
-
to be able to have a bit of foresight and to see beyond just our
-
day today lives. Okay, So everyone, okay, I know, I
-
know it sounds like, oh man, this guy's going to end times and
-
you're probably wondering. Man, it's just how how deep basically going to go
-
about? I hope, I hope it just scratches the surface enough for y'all.
-
And this is something that I want to remind all of us here.
-
Please read God's Ward for yourself. Don't take what I have to say as
-
just the gospel truth alone, because it's not enough. You guys, go
-
back and read it. You may or may not agree with the different things
-
that I'll be saying today, it doesn't matter for me. I'm not here
-
to pick each other's mental curiosity and go into theological debates. That's not what
-
I hope to do. What I hope to do is I stir it enough
-
for y'all to want to know it for yourselves, because it's already there.
-
We have the revealed Word of God. Amen. Okay, So sign of
-
time suh. Basically I started off with this question, and I've got slights,
-
and the slides can look deep, but it's to assist us this next
-
one hour to not be walking through the myri clay. Okay. What does
-
the Bible have to say about the last days? Okay? And so if
-
you study the scriptures, you realize that the Bible has already recorded about seven
-
hundred plasts forecasts that means like prophecies. So if you read the scripture scriptures,
-
and we all know, the Bible is not a book that was written
-
at one point of time and then completed in two two and a half hours.
-
No, it's basically a compendium of books. It's a library of books.
-
Those of you who like Jazz loves to read will enjoy this so much
-
because it's not just one whole book. It's sixty six books written through the
-
duration of about fifteen hundred years. Okay, So we need to have that
-
in mind as we are reading scripture. And when you read scripture you realize
-
that a lot of time scripture actually forecasts. That means it prophesized. So
-
I think someone actually or many people sat down and try to count how many
-
forecasts there are in the Bible, and they are about seven hundred plus.
-
Okay. I won't go to the exact figures because I think it may vary
-
seven hundred plus out of which are about five hundred plus, if not closed,
-
to six hundred of these forecasts or prophecies have already taken place. That
-
means it has already happened. I'm not a good math person, but if
-
you do the math, it will seem like as though the Bible is hence
-
maybe about eighty percent accurate. Okay, So out of seven hundred plus,
-
about five hundred plus have come to pass, or maybe about eighty percent.
-
But you must take notree of this. No, the forecasted events that have
-
not yet happened, we say eighty percent, right, So there are some
-
things which have not yet happened. Are those that are mainly concerning the end
-
of times, which basically is things that have not yet happened. Okay,
-
So if I were to ask you, how accurate is the Bible, and
-
if you ask me that question, my answer is it's one hundred percent accurate
-
because the things that have not yet taken place. It is not that it
-
didn't happen, because it has not yet happened. And so I take the
-
scriptures as gospel truth. I take it literally as much as possible. Of
-
course, not everything can be taken literally from scripture. If you read revelations,
-
sometimes not all things can be taken literally. But we need to learn
-
how to understand, interpret, and really read the Bible. Some things literally,
-
some things that there are figures of speech in it which we need to
-
clean and try to find the answers there. Okay, cool. So Jesus
-
has written and the end end of the world. Uh you see, the
-
end of the world is, and I lose it. I will use it
-
loosely like, Okay, it's not like it comes to an end with a
-
full stop and a hall and then everything goes into complete oblivion. Because our
-
understanding of the end of times is a little bit different. Okay, So
-
I'll use this term loosely. End of the world. End of the world,
-
Okay, don't don't have this big armageddon and no apocalypse and shrend everything
-
is deserted. Then the cydebox walking around. Uh, let's try to take
-
that out a little bit. But the end of the world is probably one
-
of the most frequently predicted forecasts in the Bible. Uh, it's not so
-
much what is the world coming to? Actually, it's more who is coming
-
to the world. That's a big difference. The emphasis is quite different.
-
So in theory. In theory, the church gives Jesus written a central place
-
is a big thing, and you realize it's all the different Christian creeds that
-
we recite, whether it's the apostles, create the niceen Creed, whatever creed
-
that you can think of, there is something in there that talks about the
-
return of Christ on that means that since the early days of the Christian Church,
-
they were already anticipating his return. It's not something that you know,
-
sometimes we have this end of the world for tick after two thousand years.
-
No, we're like, we've been waiting for the flu for two thousand years
-
and haven't shown up. I don't know whether this end of the world thing
-
is really going to be happening or not. Is he really coming the second
-
time? God knows, maybe not. No is founded or I don't know
-
what's it founded up. But the reality is right from the very start,
-
they were already anticipating it. And so if you understand how Christian faith,
-
faith, hope, and love, faith is always built on the things that
-
have happened. We have seen different ones go through their journey of faith,
-
and we get encouraged as well when someone stands up on the stage and shares
-
a testimony, it's so encouraging. That's how we build our faith. That's
-
why Hebrews Chapter eleven is such a powerful chapter because it tells you of all
-
the journeys of faith that the different individuals have gone through, and they're all
-
true stories, and they all stir and promote faith. So faith is always
-
based, most of the time based on something that we have seen in the
-
past before. That's how we build our faith as Christians as well. Love
-
is something that's always in the present present. That means love in action.
-
You know, you can't talk about love without talking about loving people and loving
-
one another, and you can only do that in the present. You don't
-
build it on what has happened? You built it on what are you doing
-
right now? Faith? Love, hope. You see, it's the weakest
-
of them all because hope is on something that you can't really see, you
-
can't really ascertain at this point of time, and hope is really one of
-
the weakest elements of faith, hope and love, I mean love is the
-
greatest of them, or I totally agree with it, if they're all important.
-
But Christian hope has somehow come to this place where sometimes we don't really
-
have that conviction within us. You know, when you talk about hope,
-
it's always the hopefully, hopefully it happen. You know, you think your
-
rain today maybe maybe not hopefully your raine or But that's not what the word
-
hope means in scripture. When you study the scriptures, the word hope is
-
actually seen in this Greek word called elp peace. It just it means this
-
is no absolute certainty. That is the kind of hope that scripture talks about.
-
But is that the kind of hope that we actually have as believers of
-
the second Coming of Christ? Do we have the absolute certain thing that He's
-
going to come in the way he said he is going to come okay,
-
food for thought, food for thought, But hope must be the anchor for
-
our souls as believers. It has to be, and we can't anchor it
-
on anything else. We can't just anchor it on the past. We can't
-
just fix it in the present. We as Christians, as believers, have
-
a hope of glory in the future. That is something that is Sometimes we
-
take it for granted that what is to come I don't know, but it's
-
really revealed in scripture. And so really, you know, this world is
-
not going to get any better, and if you read world events and you
-
study what's happening, it's going to get worse rather than better, until every
-
single part of the globe is going to be so affected. And so this
-
is my prayer and my hope, no, that we know the truth and
-
made the truth anchor us down today so that we remain stayed fast in this
-
course that is before us. Does that make sense. That's the only reason
-
why I felt like to teach on this, even though I say I do
-
it with fear and trembling, because again it's not a topic in which people
-
like to teach and talk about, only because there are various interpretations of how
-
some of these things look like it hasn't really happened yet. So everyone's going
-
to give it a go. But like, please go back and read the
-
scriptures for yourself even after this. Okay, coola, So let's make sense
-
of Jesus's written. Let's make some sense out of it. No, it's
-
over three hundred references to Jesus's return again to Earth. So sometimes you want
-
to fit it all together. Is like, it's like putting a jigsaw puzzle
-
together. And if we are able to make sense of Jesus' return by answering
-
some questions, we may have a clearer idea of what to expect and how
-
to prepare ourselves. And so I want us to ask some of these questions
-
very important and we will be answering some of these questions that we ask.
-
Okay, So the first question is who who is coming back? Okay?
-
Will he come back as the pre existent son of God or the incarnate son
-
of Men? I will explain. Okay, we look at me now,
-
and like won the world is this guy talking about man? Where? Where?
-
Will will he come back to the whole world? Or or he's going
-
to come back to one place? Ask ask some of these questions, how,
-
how is he going to come back? Will the second coming be like
-
the first coming? Or will we be totally different? You know, first
-
coming we will celebrate in a week's time, came in a little manger,
-
unannounced. No one knew, only a few wise men and Mary, who
-
immaculately became pregnant. Okay, when is he going to be coming back?
-
Well, technically only God knows. Will he come back soon? Will he
-
come back suddenly? Will there be clear signals? Let's ask some of these
-
questions. Let's find the answers to it. Why? Why? What can
-
he only achieve by coming back here? And how long will we take?
-
These are some of the questions that I hope we have some answers by the
-
end of today, so that at least we know that our soul is anchored
-
on the hope of glory Christ Jesus. Amen. Okay, let's start that.
-
I'm just scratching the surface. Who who is coming back? So it
-
has to be emphasized that the divine Christ and the human Jesus are one and
-
the same person. Okay? Can we accept that because even Christians sometimes assume
-
that the Son of God was only made flash in Karnate. That means God
-
became men for the the three years and has now gone back to his former
-
state. Whatever his former state. Maybe, Okay, that's what's auras assume.
-
The truth is he became human and he keeps his resurrected body for the
-
rest of eternity. Do you all know that basically he retained his humanity.
-
Humanity? Uh, that is what scripture teaches us. That means that the
-
resurrected Christ that we read about is the same resurrected Christ who would come back.
-
He's the same guy who was walking with the two two a mouse,
-
you know, new body with some scars that he could show to them.
-
But it must be pointed out non that there's one major change in his humanity
-
even before he left Earth. Is that this We got to remember this.
-
He was given a new body when he was raised out of the tomb.
-
New body, but with those scars u but new body nonetheless. And we
-
also need to remember that Jesus was not always human being. He wasn't always
-
in the human form. Indeed, he was not always Jesus. That was
-
a name he acquired when he was embodied, when he was given that body.
-
I think if you read the scriptures. Next week we'll talk about it
-
a little bit more. Mary, I think it was Joseph who was actually
-
told, okay, name this baby Jesus, or in short, is actually
-
Joshua. I mean in the Hebrew is Joshua, which just means God saves.
-
That is what Jesus's name meant. But he wasn't always known as Jesus.
-
I mean, if you read in the beginning and you read Genesis,
-
he doesn't mention Jesus back then, and so that is something that we need
-
to take note of and remember this. Jesus was the only person who ever
-
chose to be born. That's an amazing thing. No one else of us
-
here can say I chose to be born. He can, and I think
-
that's what makes him and that's what sets him apart from all of us.
-
Okay, So he was the eternal son of God, the Lord of Glory.
-
The Word was another name in which we see the logos. That's why
-
in John chapter one you read in the beginning was the Word, and the
-
word was that he was there right present. But he wasn't Jesus. He
-
was the Word. So he was divine being before he was human. Being
-
big difference are It is therefore very significant that the angels actually use his human
-
name when talking about his written here to earth. We must take note of
-
that. He doesn't say the logos is coming back. He actually says that
-
Jesus, the Son of Men will appear in the clouds. That's actually recorded
-
in Daniel chapter seven, verse thirteen, and also Mark chapter fourteen, verse
-
sixty two. The Son of Men will appear again. And so if that's
-
the case, we must face this one implication and embody Jesus. Okay,
-
Jesus with a body, not the Jesus who was hovering at the start in
-
Genesis with Father and Holy Spirit. But Jesus with a body can only be
-
in one place on earth at one time. Does that make sense? And
-
that's why after he was resurrected he was chilling walking with the two disciples,
-
right, and then after that all the records in which you read prior to
-
the ascension, he was always at one place at one time, even though
-
he could move from one place to another place pretty quick. So I think
-
maybe we got some flashlight kind of abilities when we get our new bodies with
-
But never does it record and says that he was in multiple places and multiple
-
times. That is something that is reserved for the Holy Spirit. Okay,
-
does that make sense? So you know, even with his glorious resurrected body
-
one place at one time, he never appeared in two places at the same
-
time. And if that is what we accept and that is what we understand,
-
therefore, when he returns to this earth, he can only come back
-
to one geographical local location. Does that make sense? Makes sense? Huh?
-
So where will that be? Is the next question that we have to
-
ask. Where where? So, if the return of Jesus is going to
-
be physical, it must also be localizes. His spirit can be everywhere,
-
but his body must be somewhere. Before he ascended, Jesus could not be
-
at two places at one time, and that is why he told his disciples
-
it was for their good that he was leaving them and then sending another stand
-
by to take his place. He had promised to be with them always,
-
even to the end of the age, yet they would be scattered to the
-
ends of the earth. That is why Jesus had to go, because it
-
was only then that the promised Holy Spirit could come, and only the promised
-
Holy Spirit could be at many places at a time. Jesus could not do
-
that in his embodied state, and that's why if you ask me where is
-
Jesus now, I will tell you he sitated at the right hand of God
-
the Father. Then it's like, who do we have with us? We
-
have the Holy Spirit, because that's what the entire scripture talks about. From
-
the especially in the Book of John. Jesus kept on saying, I got
-
to go, I gotta go, I got to go, because only when
-
I go, then you tarry and wait until the Holy Spirit comes. We
-
see that eventually materializing in x chapter one, verse eight. Amen. Okay,
-
So the only way he could do this again was to remove his self
-
physically and then let his a present spirit, which is unlimited by time and
-
space, to come and the situation will not be reversed when he returns.
-
We're thinking, when Jesus comes back, then, how God, you know
-
they think that we will lose his spirit. No, you will enjoy his
-
physical presence as well. You will not lose the Holy Spirit. The Holy
-
Spirit will always be there because the Holy Spirit was also hovering in Genesis chapter
-
one. You see if you study and I'm not going to go into a
-
teaching of the Trinity. But you know, one of the amazing things of
-
the Trinity and scriptures is that when you study Scripture, right in Genesis,
-
it talks about a plural God. That means that the noun that is used
-
for God is actually G O, D S. No. A lot of
-
people don't see it because you don't see it in the English, but you
-
will see it in the Hebrew, in the original language. That is,
-
right from the beginning, it was acknowledged that it's not just one person.
-
It was Father's son and Holy Spirit. In what I know, it's so
-
mind boggling somehow, but that is the only way in which God can actually
-
claim that he is love, because one person can love themselves, but the
-
God hate is love because Father loves the son's son loves the Spirit. The
-
Spirit loves the Father and son. And you see the dynamics of love in
-
the plurality of the God hate. Okay, I'm not gonna go so deep
-
into death, but that's just for your two understand that scripture is so rich.
-
But here we are here, we are eventually his physical presence will be
-
here, his Holy Spirit will be here. We will stand to be doubly
-
blessed. Okay, we're not going to lose one or the other, so
-
don't worry. But since his body, like ours, must always be at
-
one point on the surface of the earth, his written means that his disciples
-
will have to be gathered together from every part of the globe, because it
-
says that we will know and we will all be gathering to see and witness
-
this return. And therefore this how how are they going to actually really experience
-
his bodily presence? Well, this is what the New Testament actually promises will
-
happen, That they will be cathered, and it will be at the exact
-
location. And where is this location? While scripture actually says that it is
-
from this city that he departed to return to his home in heaven, and
-
it is to this city he will return from heaven, and he called it
-
the city of the Great King? Where do you think that is? Anyone
-
wants to take a wild gas anyone, anyone, anyone? Where will Jesus
-
return to? Which city? Anyone? Wild guess where? No? Jerusalem,
-
Jerusalem or Zion? Where the Lord will reign again? That's why.
-
And again I'm not going to go so deep into this, but there's a
-
reason why, as believers we keep one eye on what is happening in the
-
Middle East, we keep one eye on what is happening in Jerusalem. As
-
much as sometimes you're like, oh, man, I don't have anything to
-
do. You know, right now, the whole world is against against what's
-
happening against Israel as a political nation, and I have to say this,
-
No, I may not always agree with political Israel and its choices and its
-
decisions that is making today. I may not always agree with it, but
-
I will never deny the fact that Israel as a nation today is where she
-
is because of God's providence. Remember that, as believers, I think we
-
cannot turn a blind eye and be ignored about all this because it's significant.
-
Jerusalem is significant. That's the reason how God's people, somehow scattered all around
-
the world can come back to a particular place two thousand years later by a
-
stroke of I don't know again. I can only see it as God's providence.
-
And that's why I'm careful not to Israel, not to criticize them,
-
because against scripture tells us those who bless them will be blessed, those who
-
curse them naturally will be cursed. As well, So let's not be ignorant.
-
I'm not going to go into a whole teaching on Israel right now,
-
but suffice to say it was taught before and I believe and the evening Worship
-
about a couple of years back when passecond. It brought us to ten I
-
think ten weekends on the teaching on Israel. So maybe your can go back
-
and refer to that. But one day, one day, maybe I'll teach
-
you on it, but not not today. So suffice to say, Jerusalem,
-
Jerusalem came in mind. Okay, that's where he's going to come back
-
to. How how is he going to come back? His second coming will
-
be like his first going, but it will be unlike his first coming.
-
Make sense, make sense. It will be exactly how he ascended, but
-
technically in the reverse last So if you first, first going, second coming,
-
okay, Uh, technically something like that, okay, in the reverse.
-
Uh. Therefore, his written will be visible, it will be audible,
-
it will be tangible, and thousands of angels will accompany his written It
-
will be so noisy. Actually, Tesssalonian's records as a noisy time unlike the
-
first time he came. First time, he came, no noise came in
-
a little manger. No one knew about his presence except of few. But
-
this time it will be public and it will be publicized. That is what
-
the second Coming is about. No Jesus will appear at the scene to be
-
besides us. These are the different words that actually you see when you study
-
the scriptures. Epiphonies and Perugia are basically appear at the scene to be beside
-
us, to bring us comfort and support. That's what the scripture says.
-
And technically, if you think about it, one will only need comfort and
-
support if he or she is uncomfortable and going through a trying situation. And
-
that is the reality of it. That is my belief that when Jesus comes
-
back, it's going to be one of the most trying times in the world,
-
and it's going to be probably one of the most trying times in which
-
believers who are alive then will be facing because he is coming as he really
-
is. The world will know. The world that last saw him crucified,
-
now they will see him crown. There's going to be a difference. And
-
then at last, it says every knee shell bow and every tongue confessed that
-
Jesus is lord to the glory of God the Father. But when will he
-
come? And how much longer do we have to wait? Is the next
-
question that we have to ask, right, So let's go to the when
-
still with me, and this is the largest part of it. When okay,
-
because that's what we all want to Noma, and don't tell us just
-
the house and when you know? When? When I know? Because God
-
so don't know when? Okay? So basically no one knows, okay except
-
God himself, Not even Jesus knows his father's calendor. Actually, you see
-
that record that it Methew. Will his coming be sudden and totally unexpected?
-
What's your answer to that? Okay? Jess says yes. Then he says
-
yes. Technically the answer is yes and no, yes and no, because
-
Jesus could come back and any moment, but there will be events preceding his
-
written things that have to happen first, which are signs or even signals announcing
-
that he is at the door. You see that in Matthew about to step
-
through onto the stage of history. Once again, it's recorded in scripture,
-
and this is consistent with the frequent reminders in scripture that tells us to watch
-
as well as pray for his written watch and pray. It doesn't tell us
-
to hear and pray. It tells us to watch out for what's to come.
-
That is something that sometimes we take for granted because we keep hearing,
-
we keep hearing rumors, we keep hearing different things. But no scripture says
-
watch and pray. And if we look at scripture, we could see that
-
there will be two groups of people at the one coming. To the unbelievers,
-
it will be a shock. It'd be so shocking to the believers,
-
not be a surprise, but some hours will be surprised nonetheless. Okay,
-
So I'm telling you don't be surprised because it's all in scripture. Okay,
-
so far, so good. So what are the signs of his coming?
-
What are the signals? What are we watching for? And there are so
-
much data actually scattered throughout the New Testament, some in the Gospel, some
-
in the epistles, a great deal of it in revelations. No where shall
-
we start, Okay, today, I'm just gonna look at the Book of
-
Matthew, the Gospel of Matthew. That's why, that's where the main portion
-
of my scripture is taken from because this is where we find the clearest outline.
-
Basically, there's a four full framework of future events signaling his written.
-
Have you ever read Matthew anyone book of Matthew. Yeah, we usually like
-
to skip these two chapters twenty four and twenty five because it's the Armageddon chapters
-
and we're like, oh man, let's just get past this and go straight
-
to twenty eight. Great commission. Okay, Lord, we'll do what what
-
you asked us to do. But these two chapters are important, Okay.
-
Basically it's a four full framework. And after adding these four basic signs,
-
so Jesus is all if you read chapter twenty four, twenty five is all
-
in rage on. Basically it's Jesus talking, okay, Jesus's own words.
-
So after introducing the four basic signs in the sequence, Jesus actually adds to
-
each a warning about its dangers and then advice on what the disciples proper response
-
should be. So for each sign there is a description there is a danger,
-
and there is a duty. Stay with mere. There's a description there
-
is a danger, there is a duty that means we all got something to
-
do. Okay, something to beware of something to do after that. So
-
what's the first sign? Okay, let's let's go into the scripture. First
-
sign, let me read it to your since you'll like to skip it.
-
Matthew twenty four for the aid. Okay, I'm gonna read the first part
-
sign Umberwana is this Jesus told them, don't let anyone mislead you, for
-
many will come in my name claiming I am the Messiah. They will deceive
-
many, and you will hear of wars and threads of wars. But don't
-
panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won't follow
-
immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
-
There will be femines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all
-
this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.
-
Only the first sigence. Its all do mean and gloom really, right,
-
So threatings are specifically mentioned here, wars, earthquakes, femines, and truth.
-
Below. We will actually see an exponential increase in all these catastrophes,
-
which will usually spread alarm and insecurity amongst people. It's a natural thing,
-
right, this is what happens. People will therefore, when they are alarmed.
-
When they're insecure, what would happen? They will naturally be looking to
-
a savior to avert all this tragedy. And this is where people will take
-
the opportunity to pretend to be christ That's why the warning is, be careful
-
of false messiahs. Be careful of the false messiahs. Disciples must protect themselves
-
from such deceptions by not allowing panic to make them vulnerable, because it's panic
-
that causes us to let our guards down. And they can only do this
-
by understanding all these painful catastrophes and calamities in the opposite way in which the
-
world reacts to it. Not the end of all good things. You see
-
how the world reacts to catastrophes and calamities is this man is the end of
-
all good things. But Christians and believers must always look at it as the
-
beginning of much better things. It's all about perception. You know, you
-
study revelations. You want me to sum up the whole revelations. Things are
-
going to get worse, that's the that's summary of revelations. But it doesn't
-
just end there. But things will get better after they get worse. That's
-
the reality of it, and I can sum up the whole book of Revelations
-
just by saying that. And that is again how we look at it.
-
If you look at it as the end of everything good, then it's all
-
doom and gloom. But if you take the perspective of way, that means
-
it's going to be the beginning of something better to look forward to. And
-
that is an appropriate response, not alarm and anxiety and scripture says, but
-
a sense of anticipation. That's why the parallel that was drawn is child birth,
-
child b And I know many of us here may not be able to
-
identify child birth. Okay, those of you just got married and get ready,
-
get ready for this. The reality is it's painful. No one's going
-
to tell you that you don't feel a thing unless you're so loaded up with
-
epidural and whatever stuff. But even then, the reality is it's painful.
-
But I don't think any mom well, usually those in the right frame of
-
mind, they're not going to be like, man, it's the worst thing
-
that's ever Maybe maybe maybe the thought was there it's the worst thing that's ever
-
had, But there is a sense of looking forward to the delivery of the
-
child. You don't. You don't like a child go back in and then
-
you strangle your husband. You don't. You are still going to look forward
-
to the completion of it, child birth, And that's how we are to
-
look at it. Uh, it's not all doom and gloom child birth.
-
It's not all doom and gloom, right, Yes, I'm sure it's not.
-
It's great joy, right, great joy. I think I just brought
-
back to the memories of her strangling Daniel, and yeah, I remember asking
-
my wife, no, how does it feel that She's like, it's like
-
sitting on duri ends. I'm like, I don't even know how. I
-
don't even know how do imagine that? But okay, I think it's painful.
-
Uh. And that's the that's that's really what it is. But so
-
the response is not alarmed and anxiety, but a sense of anticipation like childbirth.
-
And this sign that we are talking about is clearly visible. Is visible
-
in the world that we are living in today because there have been multiple international
-
conflicts. If you count the number of international conflicts since World War Two,
-
it's on the increase. If you count the number of earthquakes, and you
-
do a study on how many earthquakes are actually happening. It's in the increase.
-
If you look at how many I mean how many places in the world
-
that is actually undergoing famine. And this is what baffles me the most.
-
It's on the increase, even though there is more than enough food to go
-
around. That is the truth if we think that all really there's a shortage
-
of food and is no, there's actually no shortage of food. That's there
-
is more than enough. It's just distribution gone wrong. Greed has taken over.
-
That's the reality of why are we still living in such conditions? Why
-
are some parts of the world, in fact, not just some, many
-
parts of the world still having femines. You think about it because God's promise
-
and after Noah, he promised never to destroy the world again, right,
-
and then what was the sign that he showed? And you'll remember rainbow?
-
What are the two elements in a rainbow? What the end? Sun?
-
Nine? When you have water, end salent, what do you get?
-
You get growth? You get plants growing. So basically, there will always
-
be enough food. That is the promise. When God promises that he won't
-
destroy the earth again, he's essentially saying there will always be enough to go
-
around, but we have not allowed that enough to reach those who are in
-
need. And that's the reality of it. So all these things earthquakes,
-
no famine, walls. It's on the increase. How long this state of
-
affairs will continue or how much worse can it get, we cannot guess.
-
But this is the first major sign, and we are already seeing it.
-
So if you ask me if I'm watching that, I'll take note of the
-
fact that we are seeing and experiencing this first sign. Okay, Sign number
-
two is this. Let me read that verses nine to fourteen. It then
-
goes on to say this, then you will be arrested. Or this one,
-
lagie, we don't like got talking to us now, then you will
-
be arrested. And bear in mind when Jesus talked about all this, he's
-
teaching his disciples. He's actually talking to his disciples. Then you will be
-
arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world
-
because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray
-
and hate each other. And many false profits were and will deceive many people.
-
Sin We will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow
-
cold, but the one who endals to the end will be safe. And
-
the good news about the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so
-
that all nations will hear it, and then the end will come. Okay,
-
So first there will be opposition in that the followers of Jesus will be
-
hated by all nations, which will bring a corresponding increase of those who will
-
die for their Christian faith. I know it sounds strong. We may not
-
see this or we may not experience much of this here in Malaysia yet,
-
but trust me, is it happening around the world. Yes, it is.
-
I mean I've read reports on missionaries around the world, and every day
-
hundreds of people die for their faith in Christ Jesus. We may not see,
-
we may not hear, it doesn't mean it's not happening. It is
-
happening. People are dying for their Christian faith all around the world today.
-
Many are coming under intense and immense pressure for their faith. Churches everywhere therefore
-
need they need to prepare members for suffering and sacrifice. That is why,
-
when when I'm given the opportunity to preach, I don't like to preach a
-
gospel of comfort, because that's not what is promised in scripture. Uh.
-
You know, Scripture actually tells us that we will see the number of believers
-
reducing, you get less and less because the pressures will be there, and
-
when it's full of pressure, it will reveal the difference between those who are
-
genuine and those who are nominal, and that is the reality of it.
-
There will be those who will struggle to remain faithful, struggle to persevere true
-
to the very end. But those who rem faithful and steadfast will also cause
-
the church to expand because the conviction within them is going to be so real
-
to hang on regardless. And with that new found conviction, they will go
-
out. They will be bold, they will be renewed, and they will
-
be zealous to preach Jesus Christ more confidently. And that's why the task of
-
world evangelism will one day come to an end, because that's what Scripture says.
-
Only when the Gospel is preached to the ends of the earth, then
-
Jesus were written. But what we see before that, we will see a
-
diminishing numbers in the churches. Because of persecution. People will give up,
-
many will give up on their faith but those who are bold will take it
-
out and they will run, and they will run like crazy all the way
-
to the very end. That is what scripture tells me. And that's why
-
when I look at the state of the church today, it's it's not far
-
off no where we are the Malaysians just very comfortable now, really very comfortable.
-
But with all of that happening, we will see and Scripture tells us
-
we will see an increase of false profits. That's the warning. And false
-
prophets wille what would they preach. They will preach peace when there is no
-
peace. They will also reassure us with false comfort when trouble looms. It's
-
almost like a a don't worry, bad times will never happen. On when
-
you give your life to Jesus, everything smooth, flowing now, it's like
-
easy life, like surfing you right away for me all the way to the
-
horizon. You do that, we will leave believers unprepared for the challenges that
-
they may face. In fact, there use this word that they will face
-
because really some of our teachings can make light of sin in our lives.
-
Basically, you can do whatever you want if you are God's shosen people know
-
His forgiveness is everywhere. Nothing to do with your personal choices. Choose whatever
-
you want. God's love covers and envelops you. I'm careful do not teach
-
it as how some would be teaching it. So let's also be careful in
-
who are these teachers that we are following after. But the reality and the
-
sad thing is many will turn away from the faith. And then it goes
-
on to say that the love of most will grow cold. Let's continue to
-
stand firm on our beliefs. I think that's something that is so so important
-
for us to hang in there to the faith. Amen sign number three.
-
I'm reading on verses fifteen to twenty eight. The day is coming when you
-
will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about the sacrilegious object that causes a secration
-
standing in the Holy place. For reader, pay attention. Okay again,
-
I'm reading a scripture. Then those in Judaea must flee to the heels.
-
A person out on the deck of the roof must not go down into the
-
house to peck. A person out in the field must not return even to
-
get a code. How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing
-
mothers in those days, and pray that your flight will not be in winter
-
or on the sabbath, for there will be greater anguish than at any time
-
since the world begins, and it will never be so great again. In
-
fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will
-
survive, but it will be shortened for the sake of God's chosen ones.
-
Then if anyone tells you look, here is the Messiah, or there he
-
is, don't believe it, for false messiahs and false prophets will rise up
-
and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even
-
God's chosen ones. See I have warn you about this ahead of time.
-
So if someone tells you, look, the Messiah is out in the desert,
-
don't border to go and look, or look he is hiding there.
-
Don't believe it. For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to
-
the west, so it will be when the sun of men comes. Just
-
as the gathering of vultures show that there is a carcass nearby. So these
-
signs will indicate that the end is near. The troubles that have always afflicted
-
God's people will basically reach a climax in this short, sharp crisis sometimes known
-
as the Great Tribulation. Okay, we hear of this. You can actually
-
see in Revelations chapter seven, and Jesus says more about this sign sign number
-
tree than the other tree, but he says it in a less straightforward way
-
because now it is like the desolation the abomination. I think the other transition
-
is the abomination of the desecration. It's like, mainly again you're wondering what
-
is that, but basically it's a hideous thingler Okay, he based his warning
-
on that phrase the abomination that causes desolation in Daniel, the Book of Daniel.
-
The Book of Daniel, he was actually referring to a human conqueror who
-
in the very city where God had been honored would be uttering blessphemious words and
-
commit obscene dates, basically provoking mental and physical distress among God's people. So
-
there's going to be someone who's going to be sitting there on the throne and
-
causing a lot of distress, to believe us, and the way he's going
-
to be governing is really is blessphemous. He's going to be against God,
-
and Daniel realized that there would be such a terrible event at the time of
-
the end. Okay, he says it in Daniel chapter eleven, Daniel Chapter
-
twelve, Daniel chapter thirteen. Clearly, when Jesus is speaking about this in
-
Matthew twenty four, he's also endorsing this as future. That is, it
-
has not yet taken place, but it will be for the same period of
-
time. If you study revelations and you study the Great Tribulation, there's actually
-
a duration which is put to the Great Tribulation. It's a period of about
-
three and a half years one two hundred and sixty days to be exact,
-
if you won't calculate it now. Of course, okay, great tribulation.
-
But different people with different interpretations. Some people believe that the Church will already
-
be raptured, okay, that we will be taken away and the Christian Church
-
will not suffer any tribulation. There is a group that believes in that.
-
Of course, there are those who believe that if you are alive at that
-
period of time, you will go through the tribulation. I believe in the
-
letter. I take the letter interpretation, and again I take it because I'm
-
reading it literally, and I'm okay, if those who say that we will
-
be raptured before the great tribulation takes place happens, why wouldn't I be okay,
-
don't have to go to suffering? Right? But when I really literally,
-
it doesn't tell me that that is definitely going to happen. And I
-
rather teach that if you are alive during that time, there is a chance
-
that you may have to be going through that tree and the half years of
-
tribulation. I rather teach us to be prepared for it. And if it
-
doesn't happen, like I said, great, we'll party in heaven. Okay,
-
well, the rest here suffered. But if it does happen, are
-
we prepared? Because you know it talks. If you read revelations, that's
-
where you actually are introduced to the Antichrist. I know that's where someone with
-
you need to have a symbol, the six six six symbol that that's when
-
you actually will be affected. It actually tells you that trade is the main
-
thing that will affect you. Basically, if you don't have that sign,
-
you can buy and sell, and you know, you think about it,
-
it's not far factional in today's world. For you to have a sign to
-
trade, you need a special sign to buy and sell. And that's why
-
it's going to be so trying during that time, because those without that sign
-
or the mark of the bees will not be allowed to trade. But God
-
it says that it is only for a period of time. It's not forever.
-
So scripture says that if it was left for a long time, everyone
-
will be gone. But because of God's mercy, it's only for a period
-
of time. I look at it that way. It's not doom and gloom.
-
You can, I mean, if you want to, if you want
-
to believe in a rapture that we will all be raptured and living happily ever
-
after, I'll leave it to you. But like I said, go back
-
read the scriptures for yourself and understanding the way you want to understand it.
-
I as a teacher, will teach it literally and prepare us for the worst
-
that is to come. Amen. And then other passages in the New Testament
-
speak about this. You can see you all, this dictator, this antichrist
-
you see in one Johnt chapter two versus one you see in Revelations. Uh.
-
And then he will have a psidechic, he will have a false prophet
-
uh. And then together they will set up this very brutal regime UH.
-
And everyone must submit to their authority. They have to be branded with the
-
mark to be able to sell and buy food. Okay, I mentioned all
-
those nothing like it will have been experienced before or will be experienced after.
-
And that's what Jesus assured the people. It will be the greatest pressure his
-
followers have ever known, terribly fierce, but mercifully brief. It's going to
-
be so fierce, but it's not going to be for a long time.
-
And there will be many rumors that Christ has written and believers will be told
-
where they can find him. They must not listen to these rumors. They
-
will see the sign that He has come eventually wherever they are at that time.
-
And that is the promise of scripture. That means that you will know
-
it when you see this third sign happening. The thought will follow and will
-
ensue quite quickly, because it's not for a long period of time. The
-
only one thing is that those in Judea must travel. That means those living
-
in the Middle East in Judaea travel not to encounter Christ, but to escape
-
the Antichrist, because that's where it's going to be the worst. That's why
-
I say keep our eyes on the Middle East, because a lot of things
-
are mentioned about what is happening there. The rest of us stay put,
-
keep our eyes, eyes open, keep our ears shut, because if not,
-
we will keep hearing. But it says watch, watch, not listen,
-
Watch and pray. And then once this crisis, which can be measured
-
in days, comes to an end, there's only one more sign for the
-
Lord to return, and it's actually from verses twenty nine to thirty one that
-
just says this. Immediately after the anguish of those days, the sun will
-
be darkened, the moon will give no light, the stars will fall from
-
the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then
-
at last, the sign that the Sun of Man is coming will appear in
-
the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the
-
earth. And they will see the Sun of Men coming on the clouds of
-
heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with
-
the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather He's chosen ones from
-
all over the world from the furthest ends of the Earth and Heaven. So
-
this will follow immediately after the distress of those days. There will be no
-
more delay. And this means that if we do leave to go through the
-
Great Tribulation, the third Sign, the fourth sign will end so quite quickly.
-
And I pray this will be. This knowledge will help those who are
-
going through those times to hang in there, keep hanging in there, no
-
matter how trying the situation is. Because the final sign cannot be mistaken.
-
On all natural sources of light will dissipate, it will be extinguished, So
-
whatever time of the day, it will be the darkest night, sun,
-
moon, stars, and everything will be shaken out of its orbits. Basically
-
Brah no longer able to shine on planet Earth. And then the nations will
-
see lightning coming from east and flashing to the west, and they will see
-
Jesus riding on the clouds, and the believers who have waited so long for
-
this day to arrive know this was a call to the Lord's people together together.
-
And then angels will escort us from all four corners of the Earth to
-
the Holy Land. They will already have their new bodies. This I believe
-
is the rapture. Okay, again, I leave it to y'all to decide
-
what you want to believe. But this is my understanding of the rapture,
-
that we will all be taken to where Jesus is coming back west, Jesus
-
coming back Jerusalem. So basically you've never been to Jerusalem, this will be
-
your first time to Jerusalem. Ah. Again, my belief as I read
-
the scriptures and read it literally, I'll let you decide how you want to
-
look at it. But if this happens, then we will all begethered,
-
given new bodies, and we will welcome Jesus. No, so it says
-
as believers are transported to Israel, there will be unbelievers will be left behind.
-
Scripture actually says that because Jesus said there will be two men working together
-
in the same one ticket the other left, the same can happen to two
-
women working together in the same kitchen. And then it also goes on to
-
one that even families will be forever divided. Again. Like I said,
-
we don't like to read this partial in scripture, but that is what it
-
says, and that's the reality of it. But the faithful followers of Jesus
-
will forever be united both with each other and with their Lord. So wherever
-
he is or will be, he has come back so that they can be
-
with him and see his full glory. Amen, I've done with when watch
-
and pray. I'll leave it to y'all on how you want to watch and
-
how you want to interpret the scriptures. But this is how I understand it
-
to be, and I want to prepare us for the challenges that we will
-
face again, because ultimately faith is about perseverance. You can't take perseverance out
-
of faith and faithfulness. It goes together. The last question is is why
-
why is he returning? And very quickly, okay, very quickly, I
-
know times almost why. Well, he's coming back to complete the saints,
-
to complete the believers. He will appear second time, not to bear a
-
scene, no, because he's already done that the first time. But he's
-
coming back to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. He Brews
-
Chapter nine ers. That means we've got to keep on believing all the way
-
to the end. At last, Christians will be fully fully saved, as
-
we all know that salvation. I believe salvation is a continuing process, not
-
just an instantaneous change when you converted twenty five years ago and then left it.
-
No, No, it's continuous. We keep on believing up to the
-
very end. Their Savior on his first visit, completed his work for them
-
on the cross, and that's why he said it is finished. But now
-
he will complete his work in them. There's a big difference. Okay.
-
When he first came, he completed the work for us. Basically he has
-
overcome the penalty of sin. But when he comes back, he will complete
-
the work in us. He will help us to overcome the power of sin
-
in our lives completely, and eventually he will help us to overcome even the
-
presence of sin all together. Does that make sense amen. The second reason
-
is to convert the Jews, and that's my belief again. Jesus was and
-
is Jewish, no matter how we try to turn it around or think that
-
he's Chinese or think that he's Indian, he's Jewish. He was born and
-
he died the king of the Jews. God's covenant with Abraham and his descendants
-
was everlasting and therefore it's unconditional. And then to remove all that God later
-
spelled out what this would mean no. You read in Leveticus twenty six it
-
says I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely,
-
breaking my covenant with them. I am Lord, the Lord, dear
-
God. So many Jews are not safe, and they need to believe in
-
Jesus. We have a role to play as believers. No, we can't
-
say that this are God's people. We don't care about them. No,
-
they're bringing more trouble to me. No, just being associated with them.
-
So we're like, oh man, this is terrible, and know if they
-
are God's chosen people, then don't need to do anything to them a safe
-
really. No, No, we are to even share with them as well
-
the gospel because God loves his people, and if we love God, that
-
means that we are to also bring the gospel to them. Amen. The
-
third thing is this, He's going to come back to conquer the Devil.
-
Basically, Satan's days are numbered, his dooma is already dated and decided on
-
when Jesus returns. Basically, Satan must leave once and for all so the
-
world will at last be liberated from the devil. And that's why I can
-
say that one day he will come and save us completely, even from the
-
presence of evil, not just the penalty of sin, we say from,
-
not just the power of sin, we say from, but eventually even the
-
presence of sin, Because what's the penalty of sin is death. What's the
-
power of sin in our lives? It's death. What's the presence of sin
-
in our life? It all leads to death. But because the tomb is
-
empty, that means that Jesus has already overcame death. So he's not just
-
saving us from the penalty of sin. He's saving He will save us inside
-
the power of sin that's at work, that's constantly will constantly being tempted constantly.
-
He will save us from that. And one day he will save us
-
even from the presence of sin all together. Amen. And then he will
-
come back and he will command world. Jesus told his followers not to pray
-
every day that God's kingdom his rule will come on earth as it is in
-
heaven. That is in the Lord's prayer. Our Father, who art in
-
heaven, Hello, it be thy name, that kingdom come. That will
-
be done on earth as it is in heaven. So Jesus is coming back
-
to this earth to reign over it, to rule over it for an extended
-
period of time. And that's why we pray that prayer and even this,
-
there are different schools of thoughts. Just to let you know, Okay,
-
this is called the millennial reign. Again, I can go into it.
-
People study degrees in all this. It's called eschatology. Your brain will might
-
explode. Some believe that Jesus will come back and rule and reign for a
-
thousand years. Some believe that this thousand year reign is already in place and
-
he's not going to come back and rule and reign a thousand years as what
-
the different ones are believe in it. But I believe Jesus will come back
-
and he will show us. And sometimes we think it's impossible that Jesus can't
-
reign in this world. This world is is so broken. Jesus come down,
-
so nothing is going to change. I believe he will show us what
-
it means to rule and reign in his way and his manner, not democracy,
-
not the way we understand it to be. But he's going to come
-
back and he's going to rule with him sovereign and supreme. That is my
-
belief, and I look forward to witnessing it and to experiencing it because he
-
will do it with his sayings. That's what scripture tells me. Amen.
-
It's not something that is far fetched. And that's why we pray your kingdom
-
come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Why
-
do we pray that? I don't know, But like I said, some
-
people don't agree with this. I'm old schooled, Okay. The good news
-
is that this prayer will come to pass and both Jews and gentile believers will
-
reign on the earth with Christ Jesus. Amen. The next one is this,
-
he will come back and he will condemn those who are ungodly. We
-
don't like to hear this, man, mm, but that is the reality
-
of it. It is necessary for history to conclude with the day of judgment.
-
The day of judgment must come as well, because Jesus must himself be
-
publicly vindicated. You know, we put him to death and until today he's
-
still a convicted criminal in the eyes of many. His execution was basically the
-
greatest injustice of them all, and basically I can think of it as the
-
darkest day of human history. But one day human beings will be judged by
-
a human being. It is Jesus who will sit on the great White throne.
-
And then it's death as fair as it gets ready because you will get
-
someone who did not sin to judge you. It's going to be amazing,
-
I believe, and this is my belief. Amen. So what do we
-
do with all this knowledge? Is the question that we ask, huh know?
-
Then? Then what do we do? It says, it's okay,
-
why are we told so much about the second Coming? There has to be
-
a reason. The purpose is s practical for me, in my honest opinion,
-
it is for us to be ready for Christ written ready prepared. It's
-
like the Scout's motto, be prepared, because revelation for the future is given
-
to affect the present, not to satisfy our mental curiosity. Somethimess we use
-
the Book of Revelations like as though we are in this debate and we can
-
go on arguing, know whether He's going to rain a thousand years or not,
-
whether we're all going to be raptured before we go to the tribulation again,
-
like I said, not the most important thing. You can decide how
-
you want to decide it. I have my ways of understanding it. It's
-
not so much to satisfy my mental curiosity, but really, how does it
-
affect our present living? It's not there to stimulate and give us more information,
-
but really is to stimulate moral consistency so that we walk consistently in the
-
law. Amen. So the future must influence the present, and only God
-
knows the future. If the future doesn't influence the present, then really it
-
counts for nothing. And that's how we've got to look at it. And
-
that is why I hope for a Christian is always confidence, certainty rather than
-
wishful longing. No, it's not like I hope for it. I hope
-
for it. No, it is assurance. I am assured that Jesus will
-
come back. In whatever signals that have come to pass, I can anticipate
-
his written and I look forward to it. And because I'm looking forward to
-
it, I'm ready. See, the only time we have to get ready
-
for the future is the present, and to delay is to run the risk
-
of being late. So how can we be ready for his return? Is
-
the question that we have to ask ourselves. How can we be ready?
-
Here are seven ways for us to be ready, to be ready for Jesus's
-
streeten. The first is this faith, individual faith. You say, God
-
put man on this earth so that they will seek him and perhaps reach out
-
for him and find him. So it is not enough simply to have become
-
a believer in God and in Christ. That is certainly the basic requirement.
-
But Jesus himself made it clear that some will be ready for hist reten and
-
some will not be ready for his treeten. What else is necessary? So
-
the first thing is, yes, we all need individual faith. That's why
-
you can't write on the faith of your parents. When we teach Christianity and
-
we're teaching relationship with God, we can't say that, oh, okay,
-
Philip, you are a Christian. Your children are automatically Christians. No,
-
they to find Christ for themselves. But it doesn't just stop an individual faith.
-
It goes on to continual service. Faithful service is an essential ingredient in
-
the readiness of the Lord's treeten. You see a matew twenty four five if
-
you read it in totality. There are some parables that are actually illustrated in
-
Matthew twenty five, especially three parables no one about a household, one about
-
a wedding, and one about commercial trade. Basically, all these three stories
-
have the same plot and the same point each of it. Someone has gone
-
away for a long time. You remember those stories, the five Foolish Brides
-
and the five foolish and the wise rites. The groom has gone away for
-
a long time, and then it's expected to return, though the exact time
-
of the return no one knows. And then there are those who are wise
-
they are ready, and then there are those who are foolish, they are
-
not ready. It's the same with the parable of the talent as well.
-
Ten two and ten five and one right even want correct the talent great right,
-
same thing. What the master went away for a long time? What
-
did they do with the talent? The last one buried it, the first
-
two invested and it did something for it. So what the Lord is essentially
-
looking for is that he wants his servants to be both faithful that makes you
-
persevere to the very end, and fruitful. Both faithful and fruitful. He
-
will look for depend dependability, not just ability. He will look for those
-
in whom he can say, well done, my good and faithful servant,
-
you have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge
-
of many things, Come and share your Master's happiness. Powerful words. The
-
next one is this not just continuous service, but personal holiness. You see,
-
the Gospel is good news about holiness as well as forgiveness. It is
-
now possible to have sins conquered as well as canceled. You know, we
-
always we rejoice when our sins are canceled or the penalty of sin has already
-
been abolished. Yeah, we no longer face the death penalty. But then
-
daily when we want, we realize, man, I'm still being tempted.
-
Man is still a struggle somebody is living in this world. Well, don't
-
just have your sins canceled, realize that you can have your sins conquered.
-
That's why we need to rely on the Holy Spirit daily to help us overcome
-
the power of sin that is also still at work in our lives. And
-
that means personal holiness is as important as seeking God's forgiveness. That makes you
-
need to make a choice to follow him and to follow him wholeheartedly. You
-
see, we can all have the ability as well as the appetite to live
-
right to be righteous. No give such as forgiveness and holiness that must be
-
applied into our lives, and we will want to be holy here and now
-
if that is possible. And it is possible, though really it's not something
-
that can be achieved quickly. It will involve effort. That is a combination
-
of energy, enthusiasm, and this last word that sometimes we forget as Christians,
-
endurance. We need that, we need to endal and persevere. The
-
fourth one is this, we need communal fellowship. We see our believers are
-
called to be chosen people, royal priesthood, holy nations, people belonging to
-
God. They are to demonstrate this corporate identity. That's why we are.
-
We are a church. Sciences, you think, oh, we do church
-
just for fun. No, there is safety in numbers. As pressures on
-
God's people will increase. And I'm telling you it will increase if you don't.
-
If you still don't feel it, follow us out on missions. No.
-
I just recently came back from rang Usli Mission Strip, and I can
-
tell you the amount of persecution the believers are facing out in the interiors.
-
It's tremendous. It's tremendous, and yet we are here enjoying ourselves. No,
-
remember this, that will come a point in time when you will be
-
challenged just to say that I believe in Jesus, it will happen. And
-
so when we are together as a body, And that's why whenever we go
-
out to the Ornus lead work, it's there to encourage them to keep ongoing,
-
keep on going. They are they are always so so surprised and so
-
grateful that someone is actually thinking about them. No, why with someone from
-
them, from the city, go all the way in just to say that,
-
hey, carry on, we are praying for you, and we hear
-
what's happening. We know that the other side is also actively trying to convert
-
you. We know that they're offering you all sorts of different things just to
-
change religion. We know, we know, we know that you are deprived
-
of utilities just because you are Christians. Know all these things are happening.
-
It's the reality. But yet we go in and we encourage them because fellowship
-
is powerful. So remember this strength in numbers. We must have a concern
-
for the unity and the fellowship of the church is important. The next one
-
is this global evangelism. Say all four Gospels has got the Great commission in
-
it. This great commission to the apostles are basically go out and complete the
-
job. Don't stay in. We need to continue doing that. Our readiness
-
in anticipating Jesus's return is that we go out because missions is worldwide, to
-
the ends of the earth. Not until every corner of the planet is covered
-
will Jesus return. So if you're going to sit down and do nothing,
-
I don't know when Jesus will come back. You'll probably raise someone else to
-
go out. That's the reality of it. And then we will diminish into
-
those who really peripheral. We end up being in the periphery of churches.
-
Don't do that. I pray that we will raidy ourselves for global evangelism.
-
The next one is this social action. And you know, the entire Bible
-
sums up all the greatest commandments together and says that you are to love your
-
neighbor, love God first, and then love your neighbor as yourself. And
-
the name the word neighbor is interpreted to cover anyone you can help. So
-
we can't say that we are believers, but we we don't help others,
-
and that's why we continue to do what we do. That's why you went
-
yesterday to Good Samaritan Homes to help those who are in need, because we
-
are safe to serve and to serve indiscriminally whoever who needs us, whatever relationship
-
is, however they respond to us, it doesn't matter. And that is
-
the true meaning of what a gape love is, because if God waited on
-
a respond our response to him before he will love us, we will all
-
be doing unconditional love. And then, last, but not least, is
-
this loyal endurance. Because things will get much worse before they get better,
-
and things will get better only after they get worse. I told you this
-
is how our summer revelations, and some of us may have to face the
-
great tribulation. I don't know. Some of us won't face it. Maybe
-
we will die and we've be in heaven and then when the time comes,
-
we will be resurrected. But if you are going to have to go through
-
those trying times, what do you need to do? The scripture says,
-
carry on believing, carry on believing. What will enable believers to survive this
-
pressure and help them overcome is the sure hope that Christ will written. You
-
see, if we ever doubt Jesus' return, it's going to be trouble.
-
Don't doubt his return, because one day we will receive the reward, and
-
we will and we will share in his reign in this world. And they
-
know that he who stands firm in the end will be safe. Amen.
-
He Brews nine, chapter eight says it's so also, Christ was offered once
-
and for all as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people.
-
He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring
-
salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. See the real test of
-
our faith downess. And I'm going to end with this. It's not how
-
we believe. If he's coming is sure and soon. If he's coming sure
-
and sooner, no, But how we behave if he is long time coming.
-
I think that's more key, because he's not looking for pending actional he's
-
actually looking for loyal service. Not so much if he's coming in shore and
-
soon. But how we behave if God is going to be a long time
-
coming. It is not what we are doing when he returns that matters,
-
but more of what we have been doing all the time that he has been
-
away that is more important. And this is surely why such all these passages
-
in Matthew twenty four, Matthew twenty five, Revelations six. All the way
-
you know it's in our New Testament basically is to get us ready for the
-
worst that can happen. And the shortest prayer and all end with this is
-
the shortest prayer in the early Church. Was basically composed of two words in
-
the Arabic language, and he just says this Maranata, which just means Lord
-
Come, Lord Come, That's what Maranata means. And the earliest Church have
-
been praying this prayer ever since. We hope you've been blessed by this message.
