Acts 2 (Part 1) - The Holy Spirit | Pr Alvin Keng

will light up your day today. Uh. And maybe I'll give you a

bit of context about today's message. Actually today's message is a part three part

message. Yeah, but but I don't know what I can cover all the

parts. But don't worry. Even if I do put one on need today

and maybe the rest of the year, I don't come back. You guys

are gonna be okay, okay, But I just give you this, uh

this uh a sense of uh where is this coming from? So two weeks

ago we had B I, C C and our anivers three. We had

a really powerful time at our ex leaders conference, you know. Uh.

And another thing I've observed here and not to say before this you didn't have

a by se even more now in the leadership here is unity. And remember

this word because it's very important word. When when I'm sharing the word later

unity, I think God did something a lot of us who have been to

alc uh. And if you're if you're a partner here and you have leaders,

you might not be there. Don't worry. I want to let you

know and let you be rest assured that God is with us, you know.

And God is doing something in our church, you know. And sometimes

you might hear bad news and might hear different things, or I hear murmurings.

But I want to encourage you. God is doing something in our church.

It is by no creation of men that things are happening. Amen.

And I've been having this sense as a leader. I've been having this sense

in my spirit, you know, because I have the chance to work full

time and I have the chance to you know, we walk closely with Pastor,

and I also have the chance to work in the process of getting BICC

as in renting the place. I tell you what, it is so crazy

on what God is doing in our church, what God wants us to do,

you know. And we're not a big time church. No restpading.

Actually thousand people is like okay, you know, but go wants to use

us. Do you know that God want to use all of you here?

As it is not your numbers that determine the strength, but our God and

by His spirit that we are strong. You know. We got to remember

that things from the Word and things from the Bible, you know. So

I've been having this sense ready, and where this message is coming from is

a preparation. That's the word I have, preparation, you know. And

of course I share this in XPJ and I'm gonna share this here and also

at Edinburgh. And there's his sense of like, hey, God's going to

do something in ex church. Whether we are going to participate or not,

he's still going to do something. I have to clarify that later, but

whether whether we are gonna partner with him or not, He's going to do

something. But more importantly is that we need to be prepared. So the

message is coming from a sense of preparation. Hey, we need to be

prepared. Hey, we need to be ready because God is going to do

something and he is ready. In PJ, he started doing stuff. Last

week. We had a very powerful time of ministry. We had two healing

as simonies in our services and share it today. You know we had different

people, dude, And can I encourage the Extreme team? You know we

always talk about it. Oh you know, people get healed during worship.

That's what happened in PJ. There was no auto call, there was nobody.

Someone now got healed during worship. Powerful, no powerful, you know,

So I wanna encourage Extreme, Hey, as we serve as we sing,

you know, continue to press in, you know, wrestle with the

Lord, because He's gonna touch the people, not us, not our talents,

not not what we have to offer, not how Tonguay we play,

you know, but really he and I am in alle and what God is

doing. And I believe he's just tri girls. But we've got to be

ready, church. Are you ready? I believe God's gonna do something today

here. You might come in here thinking it's just another thinty service and after

this, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm

so sorry. I'm gonna mess with your expectations a little bit. The Holy

Spray is gonna do something. He started. Ready, He's gonna do something

here. Right. The only question I have for us this after before I

start, he said, do you believe? Do you believe I believe in

Jesus the Savior. I believe that He has died on the cross for all

since I believe that by he strikes we are healed. I believe. Do

you believe I believe that we are set free through Jesus Christ. He has

redeemed us because of Him at peace. That's what I believe. Do you

believe that I believe we have the Holy Spirit, who has been sent by

Christ as our helper. Do you have him in your life? Today?

We're going to go deep, are you guys? Okay, let's start in

the beginning. Let's start in the beginning. Okay, don't worry not Genesis,

that's too far back. I'm going to start with the Four Gospels.

Its foundational stuff are And I had to do this in PJA last week.

You know, I realize that as a believer, this is the call that

we need to first know and understand before you even go and talk about healing,

before you were going to talk about you know, justification and don't know

what otherucation cas things happening, before you even talk about predestination. You know

your Gospels or not? What are the four Gospels? You know the Good

News or not? You know? Anyone one try what are the Gospels?

I give you? He ready for Gospels? Someone man til Mark you and

John? You know made Mink and John ready or not? If you haven't

read it now please my encouragement is going to read it because that is the

foundation of our faith. You know why, Matthew, Mark, you and

John is the foundation of faith because it is eyewitness accounts, not storybo eye

witness accounts. On this life. There's live this guy called Jesus who came

claim he was God, died on the cross, and was resurrected. We

need to know our foundation, so it starts with the good news. Okay,

let me give some foundational stuff so that we can clear and prepare the

way. Okay, before we want talk about anything else, let's go foundational

Jesus. Who is he to us? Do we know the Gospels? Do

we know the Gospels? I like to give homework to people. Please go

back and read the Gospels. We always encourage those who are pre believer,

people who know Jesus, you know, just say hey today I want to

accept Christ. We will encouraged them. Go and read Matthew, Mark,

Luke, and John. Don't read other things for us before you even go

and do Lebertica, study and Proverbs. No, read the Gospels. Know

the Gospels. Understand who this Jesus is. The Gospels are the good news.

Why did Jesus come on this earth? Foundational stuff? He came to

proclaim the good news? What is the good news? Guys? Do you

know the good news is that we're having a service in thirteen thirty, and

we say, good afternoon. That's the good news. The good news is

that you get to join a community. Is that a good news? That's

good by stead the good news. The good news is that we got awesome

express So everything come here. The expresso is awesome. That's good by said

the good news. We got to keep the main thing the main thing,

guys, because there is just so much distraction, so much deception. I

used the word deception because it's true, right, keep the main thing the

main thing. Jesus came here to proclaim the good news. He was the

good news. He was the good news. So what is it. The

good news is Jesus came to this earth to die for all sins. That

is the good news. This year. Our team is oh me, no

even all of us here. You will need to have the confidence to know

how to share the good news. I'm not saying you need to do it

today, pleasa. You know every time you want us to start, no,

no, no, no no no, you know the good news or

not? You know that Jesus came and died for your sins or not.

Sometimes we forget. I realized somethimes when you look at the way Christian slaverer.

I wonder whether they really know the God News or not. I think

about it, like, uh, we believe in the same God. Right,

we got to know the good news. Jesus came and died for our

sins. Are we convinced he fulfilled the law? He did. The law

wasn't removed on the law was still there the time Commus was still there.

But he fulfilled it on our behalf. He redeemed us from our sins and

the penalty of sin, which is death. That is the good news.

Don't you think that's the good news? Why did he do that so that

we can have eternal life and become sons and daughters of God and heirs to

the Kingdom of God. That is the good news? Passes sharing. I

think Troy the whole February talk about the Kingdom of God. We're powerful preaching,

but we got to remember how we qualify, how we qualify, how

do we meet the requirements. You got to believe in Jesus. You got

to follow him. Believe it's not good enough. There were many people who

believe. But do we follow him? Do we proclaim the good news?

You got to remember that, No, right, don't just proclaim good works,

proclaim good news that anybody who accepts Jesus as their personal and savior can

be saved today. They can live a life free, no more bondage,

no more stress. There is still stress live but with Jesus he will help

us with a stress. Right, there is still stress. Life still happens.

I'm not saying it's a magic bill. No oh, I received Jesus.

No, no, no, no no. In fag the Bible shares

with us about how much more we will suffer as Christians? Do you know

that? Do you realize that? Do you know that a life following Christ

is a life that is painful but fulfiling, a life that is difficult but

having peace, A life that people persecure you, but you'll be happy.

So contradicting doctor, Then I don't understand this by world so confusing. It

is a spiritual thing. It is a supernatural thing. It has to be

a supernatural thing. It cannot be a natural thing. If it is a

natural thing, then gone, readia. If it is a natural thing,

then it's all about a method. But it's not about a method. It

is spiritual. That's why you can add people who are addicted to drugs,

addicted to many things and they can turn one hundred eighty degree. Do you

think it's a biological change, No, it is a supernatural change. The

spirit was touched. How do we get healed? Think about it? Is

it a natural occurrence? No, it is a supernatural occurrence. We're gonna

our minds in the right thing. We look at the natural and we complain

about the natural. Heppy, we engaged in the supernatural? Are we prepared?

Not? Friends? Do you know that it is so? You know

that I feel it's very hard to catch because it is such a simple decision.

All you need, you mean, what all I need to do to

become heirs of God? Connected with this supernatural being? You know, having

all these peace that surpasses all understanding and joy and you mean, all these

wonderful things are all I need to do is say Jesus, I follow you.

Yes, it is that simple in the natural. But you know what

happens. There's a supernatural exchange. There's something that happens inside that we don't

understand. That's why you cannot put logic in the picture, because God is

illogical and he also has a sense of humor. Trust me, Trust me,

Amen, so remember what is the good news. The good news is

the story of redemption from sin and from evil. There is so much evil

in this world, guys. I'm not gonna go too deep into the you

know, study of evil, but you can go and do your own reading.

Read Genesis. I think Pasta cannot shed a little bit about that,

and very very good revelational stuff on that. But it is a story of

redemption means. Don't you think that's good news? Means are no matter how

bad. Okay, I'm trying to see if I can nail this down.

Okay, oh of you here, obesomer. So I'm not gonna use her

example. Imagine the worst person out there, your boss, the worst person

out there. Okay, someths our second half. No, no, no,

okay, there the worst person out there, however bad. The person

is a think about the most irritating person that nobody likes. Through the good

news they can be reading. How powerful is that the worst person in our

lives? God loves and he can say and their lives can be transformed.

That is good news to me. You know, no money can buy one,

no, no amount of derap he can help her. No, that's

the good news. Friends, are we convinced you the good news? I

hope we are. No, I hope we are. I hope we are

because that perspective about good news would also help us in our faith. Then

we won't be beaten so often. We will know. Hey, I know

how to call upon my God. Yes, I'm weak, the flesh is

good news, so I claim it. I claim the promises of God.

Oh, in my life. I claim the good news in my life because

God has readeemed me. So I don't need to live like that anymore.

You know, Paul says? Is it? Paul, I do the things

I don't want to do. I don't do the things I should do.

Sound familiar, feel him? You know when I'm wake up early, I

go and sleep when you sleep at night, I wake up early and we'll

look at my phone. I understand what Paul is going through. So that

is good news, story of redemption. From saying abel foundational stuff, I

haven't even started the main point of message. I hope you guys are okay.

Let's turn to X chapter one. I'm gonna give us a little bit.

Remember I talked about preparation. Okay, so you guys understand foundation now,

so we're clear. Okay, let's not argue that. You know,

if you want to argue me about what the good news is, we can

talk about it after this Cay, but not now. Okay, but let's

go into the word X chapter one. So what happened in X we are

what church X church? I hope you remember that, not access in this

ex although sometimes so you go to a hotel. Right, we have to

clarify because they will put the X church. I don't know why. Okay,

let me read the first chapter and I'll just bring us through this if

you've never read it before. The former account I made oh to your feelers

of all Jesus again both to do and teach until the day in which he

was taken up, and he taught true the Holy Spirit had given commandments to

stop here for a moment. Jesus didn't just come and appear. After he

died and left. He was around for forty days. Forty days. Why

have you thought about it? Why was he around for so long after he

died and rose up? Because he wanted to turn the doctors into believers,

because he wanted to tell them, maybe you were dreaming. After forty days,

you won't be dreaming anymore. Already. He's very clear that your life.

He's very clear that he rose from the death. He was around for

forty days. It wrote here by many infollible pros. Friends, are you

convinced that Jesus rose from the dead? Do you know that he said,

It's blessed more for us that have not seen. It's blessed for those who

have seen him infollible truths, and they lay a count to his resurrection.

But for those of us who have not seen and believe, we are more

blessed. Amen, and being assembled together with them, he commanded them not

to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father,

which he said, you have heard from me. For John truly baptized with

the water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days

from now. Therefore, when they had come together. They asked him,

saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the Kingdom of Israel.

Sadly, after so long Jesus was his diapers, they still didn't get it.

They still ask him, are you going to save us from the Romans?

And just like heaven, I've been trying to tell you all these things

John three sixteen. For God, so love the world, guys, the

world. My view is bigger than your view. Jesus, are you still

gonna when are you gonna come back and save us from romans? Are I'm

sure just that I will come back soon the next time, but romans not

around you. But then, you know, they still didn't get it.

So it's okay. If something you still don't get it, it's okay.

It's good to you. Okay, don't worry about it. Right, And

he said to them, it is not for you to know times or seasons

which the Father has put in his own authority. But you shall receive power

when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to

me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of

the earth. We shall receive power. That's why I believe in France.

The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not just speaking tongues. The Holy

Spirit is not just a friend that gives you goose bumps. The Holy Spirit

gives us power. The Holy Spirit heels. We're gonna learn a little bit

about the Holy Spirit today. Amen. Now, when he had spoken these

things while they watched, he was taken up, and a cloud received him

out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went

up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said,

men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? The

same Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in

like a manner as you saw him go into heaven. So you imagine now

all the disciples looking at Jesus leaving us go up to heaven. Really,

then they're still waiting, And then two inj just have to appear on the

side. Guys, while looking at He's going to come back. Time to

work, stop looking up. Okay. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the

mount called Olivert, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey. And

when they had entered they went up into the upper room where they were staying

Peter, James, John and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas Bartholomew and Matthew,

James the son of Alfaeus, and Simon the Zealand, and Judas the

son of James. While the upper room is huge, okay, call of

people staying there. This all continued with one accurt in prayer and supplication with

the woman and marry the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. Okay,

let's carry on. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst

of the disciples altogether a number of names was about one hundred and twenty,

and said, wow, one hundred and twenty, one hundred and twenty people

in the upper room. It's quite bigger. They were all staying there,

you know, men and brethren. The scripture had to be fulfilled, which

the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who

became a guide to those who arrested Jesus, for he was numbered with us

and obtained a part in this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with

the wages of iniquity, and falling headlong, he burst opened in the middle

and all his entry, okay, quite grows. And it became known to

all those dwelling in Jerusalem, so that the field is in their own language,

a kail dama that is full of blood, for it is written in

the book of Psalms. Let his dwelling place be desolate, and let no

one live in it, and let another take his office. Therefore, of

this man who had accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in

and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John to that day when

he was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with

us of his resurrection. And they proposed to Joseph called Basabus, who was

surnamed Justice, and Matthias. And they prayed and say, oh Lord,

you know the heavens of all, show which of these two you have chosen

to take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell,

that he might go to his own place. And they cast their lots,

and the lords fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven

apostles. They will stop here for a moon. So Jesus went up.

He said, he will send the Holy Spirit so we are not alone.

Friends, We're not alone. The Holy spirits with us. He has sent

us. Okay, we're gonna learn a little bit about the Holy Spirit today,

right. He said that the Holy Spirit will be our helper, our

counselor, and through the Holy Spirit, we will become witnesses. What are

we witnessing to the good news? That's our job, that's what we do,

right, and the Holy Spirit will also give us power. That's why

when someone comes up to you in your office, do not be afraid to

pray for them. That's why when someone comes up to you and it's not

well, do not be afraid to pray for them. It is not your

responsibility whether they heat or not. Simes, we stop, you know,

because we're not sure or no, I'm not calling to healing ministry, and

then we start creating all count Actually, guys, I'm so sorry. I

might be knocking some things out, but I hope you understand where my heart

is. I'm just going by scripture. Isn't it clear that Holy spirits for

everyone and he gives everyone power. Ah, some people more attuned. Okay,

I'm not gonna go into that, but my point is everyone here can

pray for the sick and the sink can get here through the Holy Spirit.

Very simple. Let's give you simple, guys. I don't want to overcomplicate

things. Sometimes you over complicate things, right, then we get confused.

No simple Jesus say, can pray for the sick, pray get here here,

receive done deal right. That's what God said in X one A.

So let's go a bit deeper. What happened? How did the Holy Spirit

come up to us? The first thing is that it started with a prayer

meeting at the upper room where they were staying. Okay, let me do

it. You your teaching, and I know you guys are not my church

plan. Because my church plan, they will get it from me a little

bit more. But let me be a bit more, Father Lila, If

than it's okay, The Holy Spirit came when they were having prayer meeting.

Friends, if you want to experience God's you know, life in God's If

you want if you want to experience God in your life, and if you

want more from God, can I give you a friendly encouragement? You need

to develop your spiritual disciplines. Do you know what is one of the key

spiritual discipline in a Christian's life praying. Do you know it's not easy to

pray alone? Then come for prayer meeting. How is your prayer meeting?

That's what happened. He didn't come in the secret on one. Can you

speak to you like I can? But the Holy Spirit came down on them

on a prayer meeting and he touched everybody. So prayer meting, Oh why

answer important? But just trying to get us No, no, no,

no, no, no no. It's a spiritual discipline. Friends, do

not be deceived. Okay, you need to build your faith. It doesn't

come easy. Easy, come easy, go right. You need to build

your faith. There's certain preachure disciplines that we need to continue to build and

it's not easy. How do I know this? Well, Okay, I'm

gonna use you guys again, so sorry, accountable you guys again. I've

been trying to go to the gym since the beginning of the year. Actually,

you know, I've been trying to do that for the past two years.

Ready, this year I took it seriously, right, I've been going

at least once every month, every week, and last week I went three

times. Pray Scott. Let me let me tell you something. Do I

like going? Honestly, no, I don't like it. It's tiring,

it's not fun, right, I'd rather be chilling and Netflix. You know,

sitting there and watching Netflix and chilling. It's not fun. But it

is a discipline I need to build. It takes effort, it takes being

accountable. And I'll tell you today, tomorrow and Thursday Tuesday, I will

go now, no choice. There have to go because we don't say no

no. I used the church plan last week to be accountable. Now use

you guys are okay? So Monday Tuesday, I will go. Okay,

I will be there. Right. It is a discipline that we need to

train. I need to force myself. Do you know that? I need

to force myself. But once I go and I finish it, I'm so

happy. I'm so happy I forced myself. But before that, I dread

it. I think, you know, should I bring my gym back?

Now? I put the gym back in the car? No choice is there?

Really? Right? And and and I also get support from people,

you know, people that are there. You know, coach Albert Link.

Coach Albert maybe should join me, but coach Elver Link, I must say

that, right, Albert after day or you're so uh yeah, he also

go go he You know, we keep each other comfortable and soft. I

will tell him like, yeah, I'm coming out today or tomorrow. I

can't make it. You know what I mean? Encourage each other. Do

you know? It's the same thing when it comes to church. Why do

I courage you got to come to church on Sunday just because you want to

make the numbers. No, because we know that when you're here you will

grow in your faith. We know that when you go to prayer service,

you will grow in your faith. You know when you listen to testimonies,

you will grow in your faith. It is not about the numbers. It's

not about the event. Friends. If you think it's that you've been deceived,

don't be deceived. It is for our spiritual discipline. We grow in

our spiritual discipline. We pray, we toil, we wrestle with God.

Right now, it's you know, a pray and fast right. Some of

us have committed right and we continue to do it. Why just because everybody's

doing it, Well, everybody's doing it helps us, right, But it's

a spiritual discipline we need to build. Friends, Can I share this with

you. Let me tell you what I'm preparing myself for. I am trying

my best to remember as many scriptures in the Bible because I don't know when.

I don't know when, and I speak honestly. We have a chance

to meet here. I don't know when, and if I wouldn't be around

for all different reasons. Not saying I'm doing anything, I'm not doing anything.

I'm just saying I'm preparing myself. We have the luxury here to come

to hear you know, worship, to have the Bible in our phones.

Can I encourage us to use a book? Why it takes more discipline to

bring a book? Right? I'm not knocking you if you don't have If

you don't have a Bible is very different when you have. This Bible has

been remassed my teens and I'm using to preach down or my mom got my

late mom got me this Bible. Right. There are things in our lives

that if it means enough, we will invest in it. We will build

because you know why, we will benefit from it. We will we will

benefit from it when we build a spiritual discipline, prayer, fast thing,

reading the word. You know that there's something I want to encourage us,

and I think we need to remember that, right. You know, we

if we are willing to do a lot of things, can we be willing

to do this because we don't know when. We don't know when it will

come a time where you don't have it. You know, This is why

sometimes I feel people easily sweet left and right by voices here a bit,

Oh you're here a bit because you don't you don't know your word? Do

we know God? Do we know the Holy Spirit? Do we know to

hear from him? Do we know how to say? Okay, you know

what God didn't tell me. So I'm not going to so be easily sweet

or I'll be so quick to listen to the latest news. Friends. My

encouragement is here, the word of the Lord. Where has he placed you?

What is he encouraging you to do? Grow in Him, Grow in

your faith. That's my encouragement. Amen. So it started with that,

and it continued with praying supplication. Oh, let me tell you another point

that brought the Holy Spirit down. They were in one accord. Wow,

I tell you and the son. I will speak more to the leaders and

maybe some of you here for our partners. I believe that one of the

reasons why last week in PJ we had experienced God. One of the reasons.

I'm not saying the reason now again, you got one move. Your

move was that we were n knighted. We were expected, we will all

want thing God to do something. There was no am maybe no, We're

all like, yeah we are, we're in this for the long haul.

We're all united, we'll all be leaving. And I got moved. It's

very difficult, I think, to build anything if we are disunited. Right,

So God the unity? Friends, leaders got the unity. You got

your own opinions, Fine, talk to Danny about it. Don't agree near

mine, agree to disagree, but aligned. Can I encourage us? You

want to see got move in your life. That's one of the ways.

He's dying to self. You know this anything I think we forgot, you

know, dying to self, that's what That's what the Bible tells us.

Pick up your cross and follow him. He's not easy, guys, He's

not easy. You know again, I'm not asking all of us to come

full timer, although you've got to call you them better, Kamela, But

yeah, you know, don't see something we think out like, oh that

me no no, no, no, no no, Please don't get me

wrong. I'm talking about some of these things that we need to know,

right, and I pray that a lot will still your heart. Okay,

so you guys, okay, so one hundred and twenty people that wow,

one hundred and then people, but one hundred people believe us so unity right

prayer and they all believed. Do you believe or not? I'm beginning to

understand now more and more how all we need to do is believe for good

to move. That's so true. That's so true. All we need to

do is have faith and got move. It is not about the method.

It is not about how experienced we are. It is not definitely not about

our emotions. Let's not be deceived. I use that word again because we

think that we feel that we do. No, we don't operate that way.

I think in faithor is doing even though you don't feel like it.

That exactly in faith, right, you don't feel confident, you do it,

you don't feel a peace, you do it, you know. But

when we ang in faith you please God, things happen most of the time

when we don't feel like it and we do it and we ain't in faith.

Then God move correct, so you can remember that. Let's remember all

these lessons. Let us not be deceived. Imen. Okay, I'm gonna

go to except the two, and I hope I'll be able to close soon.

When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one

accord in one place, and suddenly there came a sound from heaven and of

a rushing, mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were

sitting. Then they appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one

set upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit

and begin to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utrance. Okay,

I'm going to backtrack a little bit. Right before this happened, something

else happened. Okay, So Jesus had dropped diciples. One of the disciples

betrayed him, and he went to offer himself, and then Peter, I

think Peter right, spoke up and said, the scriptures are fulfilled, but

someone need to take his place. Did Jesus tell them to do that?

He didn't. I don't. I don't think he did. They just they

just came to a conclusion and say, Hey, the Word says this,

we better do lah. The Word says this, then we better find a

replacement. And it was Matthias. And after that only the Holy speak came.

Before that, they were praying it, you know, and then they

had to settle this. This just tells me. I'm not going to read

too much into it. It just tells me that God is a god of

order, just that that there are certain things that he put in order and

we shouldn't get it out of order. And the moment we put it in

order, he would come. That's what I'm reading from this, And what

is the order scripture? They fulfilled scripture by doing such a simple thing.

Did they pray about it? No, they prayed after they decided. They

didn't pray before. I don't know whether saying this one not. Some people

are when there are some things already in scripture, don't really to pray one

like serving God's house. They just fulfilled scripture. So I see a good

question to ask ourselves is are we fulfilling scripture when we do certain things even

before? No? Am I full feelings? Easy? And it's different than

do you realize following scripture and fulfilling scripture is two different things, though,

or I just for no, no, no, are you for filing scripture?

Not? Friends? If you are serving God's house, your fulfilling scripture,

if you are okay, blank, whatever the Bible says, you're fulfilling

scripture. Husbands, if you love your wife, you're fulfilling scripture. Fulfilling

scripture. How cool is that? Right? So they fulfilled scripture, They

fulfill the word of God. Then the Holy Spirit came, powerful, power,

full stuff. Right, and what happened, Let's see what happened.

They began speaking in tongues. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem, Jews,

devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, they

all heard it. Okay, this sound occurred. The multitudes came together and

were confused because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were

all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, look, ah, are

not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear each

in our own language in which we were born? Okay, so on and

so forth. I'm not going to go to every name. Christians and Arabs,

we hear them speaking in our own tongues. The wonderful works of God.

So they were all amazed and perplex saying to one another, whatever could

this mean? Others smoking said they are full of new wine. So the

day of the Pentecos came, okay, and I went and dob your study.

Okay, I didn't really do enough study, I think, but secretly

Pentecost means fiftieth dayila, right, But it's the second of the three great

Jewish feests celebrated Jerusalem yearly the seventh week after the passer in grateful recognition of

the completion harvest. That's what happened, okay, means it was an event,

right. But what happened Number one, The disciples were together, united

in one place. Okay. There was a sound from heaven, a rushing,

mighty win and it filled the house they were sitting in. There were

tongues on fire on each of them. The Holy Spirit filled them. They

all spoke in tongues as the spirit gave utterance. But it was not just

gibberish. Right. A crowd came. They recognized them as Gilillians, but

everybody spoke in a different language. But they didn't just speak gibberish. They

proclaimed the works of God that's powerful. Amen. That tells me that no

matter what happens in our life, when things happen in life, you know

who gets the glory. God gets the glory. God has to get the

glory. Only he will come and get the glory. Amen. And the

crowd they responded very interestingly. They observed and they were amazed. Wow,

I didn't know winning can speak Russian and she's praising God in Russian? Can

you no? Okay, that's why amaze ma? Because she cannot Ma.

Right, I didn't know a mintion. A mintion knows Japanese, so I

can on use an example. They tried to make sense how come these people

they you know, they're not because maybe last time you a bit more.

Okay, I'm not gonna go to the details stuff. But they couldn't understand

why how could it happen? Right? And the disciples were proclaiming God's mighty

works in all languages that you know. But do you know that some of

the crowd doubted. A. Yeah, they're just drawn la. Friends.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon you and when he uses you to be a

witness to the people around you, be ready for rejection. Be radia that

even when the healing comes and it happens, there will still be people that

try to explain it. One. Don't be discouraged, right, just continue

to be faithful. Sometimes we do ready then we see God moved and then

people didn't accept them. We God, it's not you. No no,

no, no no no. People say, have a choice, like how

all of us here we say a choice. At the end of this message,

we will have an other call. Some of us here we have a

choice. Do we believe or not? Some of us here we have a

choice do receive or not? And it's okay, no judgment. But those

that believe and receive the Lord will come. That's my conviction. Amen.

So and then of course after that, you know, it's part two regular,

so I won't go deep into it. Okay, that's supposed to be

part two. So God gave us the Holy Spirit to help us with the

last commandment. Jesus left us. You know, you talk about purpose in

life. I think this is the purpose in life. And it's exciting.

Actually this purpose we think that this purpose not no, no, this pc

actually or what is the purpose of life? I alvinging or simple? I

think it's simple. As much as this we have the good news. We

share the good news because Jesus left, came and left left this with us,

meant to go there for me disciples of all nations, baptizing them in

the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching

them to observe all things I've commanded you, and lo, I'm with you

always, even to the end of the age. I think that's a very

powerful purpose for those for those of us who walk with Christ, we know

that that is the ultimate purpose. Amen. And that gives us for fill

men. Even though it's difficult, we have for fillment, even though sometimes

we feel like giving up, because of this purpose we carry on. Amen.

That's powerful. So who is the Holy Spirit and why is he important?

Well? First point, he's God First Corinthians six nineteen. He is

God, the Spirit of the Lord right x two. Today it says he's

a gift when we repent and are baptize. He is a gift from heaven.

Thank God, He's a gift. You know why. Imagine? Okay,

Charles, you are safe. Here's the Bible. That's it. See

you. Then all our intrusive thoughts start coming. I'm not saying you have

one Okay, all our intrusive thoughts and who's gonna guide us with the intrusive

thought? Thank God? We the Holy Spirit right, thank God, we

read Bible and then you know, have you ever had read the Bible?

And then you experienced the rama world of God. That's the Holy Spirit speaking

to you right there. Thank God, he's a gift, because if not,

we'll be alone. You are not alone, our friends. Sometimes the

intrusive thoughts can be louder. Then you got to pray and ask the Holy

Spirit to be louder and the intrusive thoughts, amen, he is. The

spirit of truth is so important. I realized now now, nowadays that truth

is so important to us. We gotta speak more truth. Stop gossiping,

stop talking eye, stop being talking about assumptions, speak truth. What is

the truth? Find out what's the truth, and speak the truth and the

truth is set. You're free. Got a situation, don't don't busy talk

talk to people that don't truth. Talk to person with the truth, and

then you got no more stress, toy, do you know that you can?

You're talking with people who got no truth. It gets worse, you

get more stressful, you get most do you know it gets worse. You

want to have peace or you want to have stress. I mean I I

always tell other people this lat and sometimes I you know, again, when

you are in a position where you are taking care of people, managing people,

drama is bound to happen. Now, okay, mystics are bound to

happen. And this is the one thing I always tell them. Guys,

there's enough problems in my life. I just wanted to key see. I

don't create more problems. So unless the problem is worth pursuing a it's okay,

let's forgive and let's move all your life. I think a lot of

us are like that. I don't need to fight more for my right one.

It's okay, Jesus demunicate me. You know. That's enough problem really,

But we gotta speak truth. Some you hear known when you speak truth

in a situation. But truth is scary because truth I offend people. But

truth is important because even if they're offended, they're set free. Hopefully decide,

he has to be done with the Holy Spirit. You bring truth in

the situation. He is our helper, our comforter, our counselor the Holy

Spirit is so important. Have we engage the spirit of God today. Why

do we say this devotion is so important because we need to engage him.

We need to wrestle with him. This is the word I use, wrestle.

No, you know you wrestle with God. Right. It is an

active act, not a passive act. You know you got to engage God.

See him move in your life, and he will help you. Paracletoss

someone called to one side, called to one's aid. One who pleads another's

cause because of the judge, a pleader, counsel for defense. He's our

legal assistant, advocate, he pleads another's cause, an intercessor, his assistant.

He's destined to take the place of Christ while Christ is up there in

heaven. The Holy Spirit Romans eight twenty six thirty Maybe I'll get xtivated help

with this Romans eight twenty sixtyty I'm gonna ends soon. The Holy Spirit helps

us with our weaknesses. Likewise, the Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses,

for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought,

but the Spirit himself makes intercessar intercession for us with groanings which cannot be aftered.

I'll just share a personal testimony I've shared before. Well, I don't

know I shared here before, but I have an anger problem now, okay,

we very honest to you, and uh, and the Holy Spirit has

helped me with it. I think I'm a much nicer person nowadays, right,

but I do. I do have that issue, right uh. And

I thought I dealt with it when I was young. Now I got married

and it came back and I have to deal with that, you know,

because marriage is not And then after that, I thought, oh, at

peace, readly everything at peace, deal with work stuff for peace. And

then sunny God gives you kids which knows how to press the wrong buttons at

the right time, you know, And you're like, wow, Lord,

I thought I dealt with it. Is there'll be many years and then and

then he deals with it again, you know. And I tell you the

Holy Spirit deals with our weaknesses. Yes we are. We are weak.

Okay. If you feel you're weak, great, the Holy Spirit will help

you. Don't try and be strong all the time. You know, It's

okay. He will help you deside. Even in our church, we really

believe in imparent people, Gus. You know, if you have the Holy

Spirit in your life, he will help you on It's okay. We just

forgive each other and move on. Right, as long as you steal one

tula the moment you don't do it very heart ready right, but the Holy

Spirit will help you in your weakness. I show you a funny story here.

So now Aya, we are helping VA and I have the chance to

be one of the like creative cultures lat And both my kids are in VA,

And then I realize one thing, because when I was conducting the class,

I will smile most of the time, Laine, because I have to

be friendly to the kids, right. And then I realized when I go

home, I don't really smile because I'm like dead mode, right, like

pick up your like I don't. Then I like, oh no, that's

how they see me most of the time, and when he seen me in

school presenting being friendly with people, you're creepy. So I'm like, okay,

God, I think I need smile before. You know, God helps

you, you know. I mean, there was another story I had where

I don't I think I'm shared here before about how God. You know,

I think the Holy Spirit convictor my heart to apologize to my son when he

was seven years old, because I might have gotten a bit angry. It

was not easy. It's not easy, you know. And and you know,

the Holy Spirit does work with us as long as we are listening to

him. It's very important at that point, because he would just whisper,

you know, And if we were totally ignore that whisper, then he might

not whisper anymore, or it might be softer, or other voices might be

louder. But as long as we want God to move in our lives,

he will deal with our hearts. That's why it's very important to keep our

hearts open to him, to him a man, so he helps us with

our waitnesses. Yes, it's scary, it's humbling, you know, it's

difficult because you know, it's not fun to be wrong. The admission of

guilt is very difficult, do you know that? But you know, once

we admit guilt, or we admit that okay, God, I you know

what I I can't. Once we surrender, God can take over and we

become better. It's very powerful. When the Holy Spirit dwells in us,

we have the fruit of the spirit. This is a very good one,

right sometimes we take. But the danger about this is that you know when

we look at someone and say, ah, you've got no Holy Spirit because

you don't, you're not long suffering. You know, don't do that.

Don't do that. Everybody's trying their best right and of course in my country,

eight Spirit gives us power. That's powerful. You know. You know

when I share about power, I'm not sharing it on the sense of like,

oh, once you're the Holy Spirit, then you have supernatural power.

No no, no, no no, don't don't think of avengers. Okay,

don't don't I know, guys, are you in Oh I got power?

You know? No? No, no no. What I'm trying to

say is that when the Holy spirits upon you, us natural beings, we

have no power, but the Spirit of God can give you power that when

you believe in the crazy it will happen. When I say crazy, not

crazy crazy a lot. But when you pray for someone who has cancer,

the person be healed because you are power. That's powerful, But it starts

with believe. It starts with faith. Amen, Zachariah, for success not

by mine, not by power, but by my spirit. Amen. It

is so comforting to me that the Lord didn't require us to work our way

to heaven. Isn't that comforting? He said? All we need to do

is believe, no matter what you've gone through in your life, no matter

where you are in a life, no matter what you you know. I

mean, you might say something, create something bad yesterday. You might have

sheltered at your spouse yesterday. But do you know that when you come to

God today and you say, Lord, I believe here I am, it's

all washed away. Do you know that nothing you do can turn his face

away from you because of White Christ that did for us as long as you

repent and you come to him. If you don't repent, then he cannot

do anything. If you still want to hold your anger, he cannot do

anything. If you still want to know, I don't let go of this.

I'm right, But we say Lord, I repent, I'm here,
