You're listening to a message to go from at church. We hope this message

will light up your day. Oh may no, Okay, I believe that

you know, that is just not the theme you know, we're aligning to

that. It's not because that's the theme, uh, you know for this

year for ex church. So that may know. But I believe when we

give our life to Christ, that's we are started on that assignment day,

so that we don't keep the message of salvation just to ourselves, but to

share it all around and to share Christ around. And so so I would

like to also recap something I sometime like, okay, I talk about what

a church is, okay, uh, And y'all know that you know,

we our our assignment or our role is not to just bring people to church,

all right, but or Christ, you know, to just bring people

to Him. But it's to bring the Church and Jesus to the people.

Okay. There's many more people out there than they are in here, okay.

And and it might not be also feasible. You know, for example,

our church meets on Sundays only, all right, or church meets uh

your different homes on different days, right, you have Thursday, Friday,

Uh, and or you have even church during prayer service there's church as well.

Sometimes you may think like, okay, church is just a service together.

But bringing when we say, you know, when we won't bring Jesus

to the people, we won't bring church to the people. Uh. That

involves of the location that you're at, where your marketplace is called you know,

your the place that you dwell at, could be your neighborhood, could

be your school, could be your family uh. And and could be the

market and place the you know, the restaurant that you go to. You

know you are there. Church can be there because all of us here actually

we are a church. Right. I talk about that before. Also because

you know, if you see in the word church, you say you are

you are the church. Okay, we are the church, say I am

a church. And church girls goes beyond these four walls. If we you

know, if guys wants us, if God created us, he saved us.

Uh, so that our assignment can bring about a difference and so that

oh may no, it definitely cannot work just within the four walls, right.

Uh, it has to go up. Assignment is to go out and

bring church out. Uh. And it's definitely not just about programs as well,

because some people associate church. Okay, church is about the program or

you know, these days I don't really like the world, but these days

because it's like, oh, hype, it's about all but the hype and

and and vibe. And I don't know what else, like her good lighting

or church is all about you know, good preaching. You know, I

get my ears nicely clean and dark and a feel good and I woke up.

Uh. But you know, church is beyond that and the role and

and God's idea for the church. Right. I may do this in three

parts. Hopefully the next time I come, I get to do the second

part with you. But the first part of God's idea for the church,

Okay, the church as a unit, as a body or the church we

know as well, the Word of God says, when through a tree I

gathered, his presence is already there. That can be a church as well,

in a smaller group and zoominging it down a bit more. That that's

all we are, the church. So the idea, God's idea for the

church is the continue continuity of the ministry of Jesus. Okay, of of

Christ. Okay, what do I mean by that okay, So the actually

a few points that will go through with us. Let's see whether I can

finish or if not, we can have a part two of this. Uh.

But the first thing is, you know when Jesus, Jesus' ministry started,

given his ministry starts, yeah, so uh, the very defining point

of his ministry was was made public was right after his u water baptism,

right. Uh, John the Baptist baptized him, and then his public ministry

started. Uh. And then you know, the first few things he had

to go through was the period of temptations. So he was a wilderness,

right, he was fasting and he was tempted then. And that itself,

you know that forty days actually prepared him for and I'm gonna paraphrase it,

you know, the challenging task that was a hit for him in his ministry

and ultimately you know, he had you know, to be persecut with it

and crucified as on the cross. So the ministry of Jesus right encompasses or

involved different areas. And why I thought of sharing that because sometimes it brings

into remembrance and perspective against othertimes we might just do church and then done.

You know, you think that that's our assignment. But if God's idea for

the church is to continue the ministry of Jesus so that the Bible does not

just stop within the Bible what Jesus did, that's not just stop two thousand

years ago, but it continues on. So what are the aspects okay,

that that was Jesus' ministry that we should continue on, continue with it,

all right? So the first part is his preaching and his teaching, the

teaching of the world of God. All right. So one of the very

key significant teacher. So Jesus' ministry involves a lot of him going around spending

time people and then he sat and teach them. Uh. And he preached

as well. Okay, he thought and he preached about the Kingdom of God.

Okay, and a lot of times when he did that, right,

he didn't go into like super bombastic stuff. But what did he do.

He used a lot of parables. He taught people using parables or these days

you know, you know, can you use can say you know, he

used a lot of live stories to teach about God's kingdom. And one of

uh, you know, very uh significant ones. For example, you know,

the sermon of the Mound. You can actually read it from Matthio chapter

five, verse seven five, Metti chapter five to chapter seven, all right,

or even the Beattitudes Okay, Beatitudes is from Matthill chapter five, verse

three to twelve. Okay, some of us leaders, you know, some

of us are, we are we're actually going through this on in our salt

our local salt trainings. But basically, you know, the Beatitudes actually highlights

the Kingdom of God. All right, and probably okay, let's turn to

it and our leaders to read it, and we will have a volunteer to

read Matthew chapter five, verse three to twelve. We will read the Beatitudes

because some of us like, what is that be attitudes? Uh? Okay,

before we can start with region Matthew chapter five, us two to twelve.

Okaya, verse three to twelve. That's three. Blessed are the poor

in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who

mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they

shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain

mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed

are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of

Heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds

of evil against you falsely for my sake, Rejoice and be exceedingly glad,

for great is your reward in heaven, For so they persecuted the prophets who

were before you. All right, Colse, thank you so much region for

reading. So their bee attitudes, Okay, if you break it apart,

it's actually the attitudes you need to be Ah, the bee attitudes. Okay,

Ah. You see the word that, yeah, be attitudes. So

this be attitudes itself. Right. It almost tells us that, hey,

you know, if we want to be part of the Kingdom of Heaven,

these are the values that we need to live out. And it covers different

areas, you know, for example, meekness, you know, being mercy,

feel being pure of heart. And if we say, you know,

as a church, you know God's intentions for us to continue the ministry of

Christ, then we have to continue to teach the Kingdom of Heaven. We

have to continue to teach people to be meek uh. People, not just

wein a church. You know. Do you know that we can actually disciple

people who are not yet believers, uh, people who are not yet Christians

as well. We can teach meekness to them. We can't teach mercy to

them. For example, we can teach them to be pure at heart.

And I believe you know this is the hardest for men to be pure at

heart because the heart right of man is deceitful. The heart of man is

greedy as well and very self centered and self righteous. But as believer us,

you know, we have to continue to teach that. Uh. If

you're saying that, hey, you know, I'm a church in my marketplace,

then one of our roles is to help this our marketplace to be more

merciful, for example, to teach it by teaching it, uh, and

not to say like I go there and now you know Jesus say you need

to be merciful, not that. There are a few ways that we can

actually teach Okay, one is to living it out. That is the greatest

example, because I always like to use this uh saying, and I heard

it, you know first from past kind of people don't care how much you

know until they know how much you care. So you can talk until the

cows come home, go back and come home again. But people don't care

what you have to say. But you'll a lot of times people see our

actions first. So how can we teach if you're not living it out?

How can we tell people the truth of the Kingdom of God without living it

out? Lah? So that's one of it. Another example, you know,

the parable of the good Samaritan, Uh BABEI Samantha, Oh ses you

hold the mic already? Luke chapter ten, verse twenty five to thirty seven.

Yeap Luk chapter ten, verse thirty five to thirty seven. On the

next day, when he deported, he took out to the nary, gave

them to the innkeeper and said to him, take care of him, and

whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.

So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who felt among

the thieves verse thirty seven. And he said, he who showed mercy on

him? Then she said, say to him go and do likewise. Yeah,

amen, thank you. So you know Jesus talk to sharing parables and

this parable itself about a good Samaritan, right, Jesus was teaching them to

be able to love their neighbor, all right, and and this is you

know very much preach and share about as well. Uh, you know,

buy the different speakers in our church as to continue to love our neighbor,

to show compassion beyond social and ethical boundaries. Because at the point of time,

right for the Samaritan, which is actually a gentle uh, to help

a non gentle is against any social norms, but there was a man beyond

that as well. So if you know, how do we then teach Malaysia

to go beyond social norms to extend compassion, uh, to to continue to

love our neighbors event as ourselves. How can we teach you know, nothing

here in university students to be able to do that. So it starts with

us, okay, Uh, you know the last one as well. You

know the prodigal son go in it because I think we are quite familiar with

this story. The son ran away from home, broken, trust us for

inheritance or his dad and spend it all away. But in the end,

in the end, you know, the Father still received the Son home,

and you know, it illustrates very clearly of God's boundless grace and and God's

boundless love and his forgiveness. You know, the Father that is, you

know, talked about in this parable actually reflects very much of who God is.

And Jesus had to teach that. You know, he didn't really say

God is like that, but he gave a parable of the Father. It

was. That's something that we could also learn. All right, even as

we share Christ with people, how can we uh still share God but then

in a way that they can't understand it? Okay, So that's the first

point he true preaching and teaching, all right. Second, you know,

Jesus' ministry was through the performing of different miracles as well. If you read

Matthew, Mark, Luke John at least the four Gospels, right, you

see a lot of miracles happening. Okay, what did Jesus do? You

know? He healed the sick. Uh. You see the lepers being healed,

the blind being healed, people who are paralyzed, they started walking.

The next one, you know, is the raising of day, which is

uncommon but he did that, and one or a very notable person that he

raised from the day was Lazarus, right, which is from John chapter eleven,

verse one to forty four. And what he also did was right he

the miracle he did was to nature as all environment. What did he do?

He calmed the storm right. The disciples were fishing and there was a

great storm, and he calmed it down. And the other thing was he

walked the water all right. And and you know some other miracles that he

did as well was the casting out of demons. So what what does this

all all tell us as well? You know, as a church uh individually

in a smaller group two th three, or as a church collectively as well,

or the body of Christ at large as well. Uh. You know

when we say that if God's idea for the church is to continue the ministry

of Christ, then the church should be a place that people will be able

to come and ask for healing, uh, you know, and they're being

prayed for, and we see the manifestation of the power of God over their

lives. Uh. You know, we're seeing the date rise and and you

know the lame walk Uh, DEM's been cast out for people's life as well,

so we have a story some time back. I can't remember which pasta

Lazarus and Karnish was. So there were still students in Nilai University and then

there was this student who was demon possessed. So their lecturer knew that these

two boys, they are Christians and they know that, you know, Christians

can cast out demons. So it came to them like, hey, you

know there's this trouble that's happening right now. Person is possessed and it's manifesting,

okay, screaming and rathernot, so can you go pray for him?

So these two students like any other I believe any any person that are not

students, like sometimes like a cast out demons are what if the demons jum

on me? Or what if the demons don't come out the hell jam on

me as in like you know, come out and then enter me? Then

how you know that we have allow weird random concerns and questions? Right likewise

the students, so they actually caught up and persons, can you come persons

like all the way in Subang right then he's like, you guys, do

it. I'm not gonna come all the way to new like to cast out

demons. So the students no choice. They said, yes, they went

by faith and they prayed. Immediately the demon was cast out number one.

So the person was possessed managed to witness God's miraculous power. The lecturers knew

that and saw that as well. This person gave his life to Christ or

so. So, you know, the ministry of Christ is not just to

do, you know, to show like, wow, you know I can

heal the sick, because the days not even about it's not about even you

know, some people they're like, oh Jesus can heal. I can't seek

the healing. It's not even the process of it's not even the healing miracle

itself, but it's the healer. It's all about the healer, which is

Jesus. So when we continue the minis you of Christ. When we say

that, you know, science and worters will happen wherever a believer is at,

wherever the church is at. That it should point people back through the

power of God. And so in the days to come as well, get

ready, you know, and no, no, in your office and your

family and your neighborhood. You know, people are coming knocking your door.

It's like, hey, we have a lame person. You know, we

have someone who is blind, someone who is mute, who needs healing.

Can you pray for them? So get ready to do that. Yeah,

okay. Second one, third one, whereever Jesus ran as well, he

discipled people, Okay, discipling and did she comes quite close hand in hand.

But what was even slightly a bit more more important is Jesus selected twelve

people right to be his disciples. And besides him discipling through teaching, they

followed him around and he set an example for them, and they follow and

they learned from him also. And then these people are these disciples as well,

you know, they played a really crucial role after you know, Jesus

died. Uh. They played a very important role to spread the gospel Okay,

upon Jesus's death and his resurrection. So one of a few disciples you

know were like Peter, James, John uh and and Julius as well.

So they played a role. Uh. And and the church is called to

disciple, to continue the disciple of the world, uh, and to disciple

believers as well. All right. Fourth one would be Jesus had a really

uh interesting interaction okay with different groups of people. Uh and and he did

not. Okay, these days, these days to use this word loosing,

like hey, it's all racist basically, it's just to mean that. You

know, sometimes we can go about uh segregating people, labeling people, right

and like yeah you are from you know, different culture or different background.

Uh, different upbringing. Okay, you know, I push you aside.

But Jesus did not do that. What did he do? You know?

He mingled with uh. For example, you know, he met the lady

at the well, right, she had countless of partners and husbands. Uh.

And and she was well at a time of day because you're not of

white people. But Jesus was the meeting her in social contexts at upon time,

and culturally it is unacceptable. But Jesus went down to her level to

meet. You know, he met the marginalized every singer's text collectors, you

know people run away from them. By Jesus met uh zach Yis and he

spent time with him. He went to his house. Uh. You know

how many of us would do that? And a text collectors that they are

there like cheetahs as all right, a comment uh that were you know,

just earn our people. But he did that. Uh, he spent time

with the outcast. Uh. And why he did that, well, you

know, besides the marginalized and singers, he spent time with religious leaders.

Also as a church, you know, he was able not as a okay,

as Jesus Okay. So as a church, are we able to spend

time with really just like oh you are of a teacher of a certain faith,

Okay, I run away from you. You know, they come in

there their ropes and whatever, and not like okay, I will leave your

side. But he spent time with them. I had really good dialogues with

them as well. And and you know, and he spent time with the

crowd also, uh, that is the majority. So he had different inner

group of people that he spent time with was with his disciples, the people

of the world, and also the larger group of people as well. So

he had a really good interaction. So as a church, you know,

sometimes as believer us, are we able to be comfortable uh, to sit

there and and mingle? For example, with these days this context, people

we smokers or people who love going clubbing or you know, drinkers, are

we able to to interact with them comfortably? Uh? And and not judging

them or feel like are you white? They like that? Or people who

you know every uh, every few words you know in the sentence has this

extra grammar in it and all your cursewords in it, Like are we able

to sit there comfortably interacting with them? God? That's what Jesus will have

done. Uh if it's in this modern day and contact as well? Are

we able to mingle around prostitutes? Okay? So uh, you know,

apply withisdom as well guys to just go put yourself alone with prostitutes around your

but in a group you know, ladies you okay, are we able to

do that? So that's what I'm trying to get Okay. Fifth point His

Jesus' ministry as well was to fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament. Okay,

what do I mean by that? There are different prophecies in the Old

Testament that fore told about a Messiah that's going to come uh and save the

world, and and if I was told as well that it's going to be

someone that's gonna die, resurrect and and you know, be the savior.

So his ministry was to fulfill the prophecy. So if in that case,

you know what is our ministry and what the prophecies in a Bible that we

have to fulfill, or even if I don't talk about prophecies, for example,

the commandment or commission of God that is to go into all the world

right to push the gospel. So which part of the Bible you know that

we need to continue to fulfill? Uh? And and to carry on?

Okay, So everything all good? And can tell your neighbors that say,

don't be a Sophie because along the way we can get distracted with our assignment

as a church. We can get distracted easily, but it takes a lot

of perseverance and focus to continue to press on. Sophie has very short attention

span as a doggie. Uh. She can be like, oh, I

want playball. That's something like yeah, gosh loves cockroaches and and lizards,

right, and was like, hey, listen, does she really go and

start looking for lizards? Are? She's very good at that? So let's

not be Sophie, but continue to stay on the course. Okay, let's

see I will just touch briefly on this point six point seven. Yay,

I can finish all in time. That's good, okay, point six Okay,

Jesus ministry. Okay, his role was also to die for the world

and the resurrect for us as well. Yeah. Uh. And and his

resurrection itself tells the world and promise. So he promises through his resurrection,

it promises eternal life, all right, And and through his crucification as well,

it tells the world that hey, I have a tone for your sin

and I am the only way to life. Uh. And that's the old

I always I'm always you know, I always share this that there's no one

else that can make this promise to say that I am your savior. I

can give you eternal life, and I die in your place. That's what

untonement is, right. We don't deserve it, but someone just dies in

our place so that he can take the consequences of our actions. For example,

you know, you murdered someone in Malaysia or you are trafficking drug in

Malaysia. Both of this the consequence is death penalty. So imagine, you

know, Shakina does not know you at all, but she's saying that I

will atone for you. So she just go out to the judge and tell

the judge. Okay, you know, said said Yvon Free. Because although

she has murdered and traffic drugs, but I want her to have experienced freedom.

Take me in in state and I will die in her place and as

someone else. No other religions in the world can claim that. Okay,

And he's Jesus' resurrection as well. I would tell the world that you know

that God is real. He has power over death and life. There's no

other religious leaders as well that has died and rose again. They still have

to die like a normal man. Uh, and from and you know,

it's from dust to dust. In the end, they become dust as well.

But Jesus has proven that he is all powerful and that he is the

only way to truth and life. So as a church, as a believer,

how can we bring this and help the world know and see that Jesus

is real? Okay? Last but not this is his I you know,

I talked about it just now. Already is the great commission, Okay.

So before Jesus ascended, he told us written down. We've proved black and

white from that due to the eighth verse eighteen to twenty. And it is

a very very clear instruction to go into all the world to make disciples.

And what do we have to do next, you know, to baptize them

and to father the son, and then to teach them to obey everything that

I have commanded you. And lo I am with you always until the end

of the earth, until the end of each all right. So that was

his ministry, his role and obligation, and for us to continue on with

that as well, until the end of each so you know, until the

end of our last breath, you know, to continue to preach, to

teach the disciple, to baptize them. So we are not here to make

decisions. You all like, yay, we're seeing eighteen responses that teens can

stop that. No, Actually, the real world starts after the right the

day can ended. The real starts because our team that's part of exs teens.

Uh, they have a role to do now is to disciple. Okay.

So his commission wasn't just to save the world, but to disciple them

to a place of them wanting to be baptized. Because baptism itself, it

is a very significant act of proclaiming outwardly publicly to the world that I am

a true believer of Christ and I'm I want to follow him the rest of

my life. You know, and then teaching them to obey his comments.

It's not easy because God has given us freewill and tries, and naturally we

want to have our own freedom. Right. I want to make my own

decision. You know, Why do I have to pray, you know,

to ask God if this is the right job to go to? Ha?

Uh? You know why do I have to you know, love my neighbor

as myself? You know, I have so many things to do with you.

Why do you have to still extend compassion to another person? But that

is God's common So how as a church, a body two or three in

a small group or individually as well, continue to teach people to fulfill the

great commission? And how can we continue to live out and and fulfill the

Great commission as well? All right, so I'm going to close right now

and I will pass the time back to extreme. But before that, I

just want to give us an opportunity, uh to to the respond to God

today and especially for friends here. Uh if you are new, you know,

we do this everyway in church. And and it's for you to give

an opportunity to you to say, Jesus, you know I want you and

and and I know that you are real. I know that you can work

in and through my life. Uh and I know you know today even why

I share you know the make sure our Christ It and and our favorite self.

You know it just envelopes or covers the themes of you know love,

God's love and his forgiveness and his redemption and his hope for eternal life.
