God Has His Eyes On You | Elder Terence Atkinson

You're listening to a message to go from acts church. We hope this message

will light up your tea. The title of today's message is God has his

eyes. God has his eyes on you. God has his eyes on you.

What does it mean to have God's eyes on you? Yeah, I

needed a glass of water. Praise the Lord. What does it mean to

have God's eyes on you? Look, it's very important to realize that there

is a purpose for God to have his focus on you, all right,

and it's very important for us to have this God have his eyes on us.

In Psalm thirty three, verse eighteen, it sis, behold, the

eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope

in his mercy. The eye of the Lord on those who fear How many

of you attended homes If you've attended homes on Friday? The sharing was on

service and we talked about the fear of the Lord, right, the fear

of the Lord. The fear of the Lord. It's not the covering type

of fear, the one where we go and hide. You know. I

was just telling XPJ, how many have you seen these movies where the robber

enters the house and the woman is so afraid, or the lady or whoever

is so afraid, and they go and they run and they hide in the

closet. How many have you seen movies like that? And you know what's

very funny when they go and hide in the closet, they don't keep their

mouth shut. When the robber comes into the room, he can hear you

doing that and know very easy to pick you off. Right, That's not

the kind of fear that God has for us. God's fear, the fear

that He wants us to have of him, is not one where we are

covering in fear. But the type of fear that God wants us to have

is one of reverence. That we hold God in due all inde all because

God his due is for us to hold him in awesome attention. All right,

So God expects us to hold him in awe and to reverence him.

How many of you come into the presence of the Lord? Okay, I

was going to say and follow your legs like that. I mean, if

you go into the King's company in militia, if you're going to the king,

would you put your leg up? No, Now, I'm not telling

you don't fall eLEGS, but I'm just saying that when you hold God with

a due reverence, there are certain protocols that you want to follow that you

make personal commitments before the Lord as an honor towards him. How many of

you are coming to Sunday service and have your plate and a sandwich and you're

eating at the same time. You mean you cannot wait to eat? Your

hunger is so strong that you will do that. No, there's certain protocol

that you will hold before the Lord because you hold him in reverence, and

you know what scripture says, when you fear him, you are also one

of those that hope in his mercy. That means hoping in God's mercy is

tithing with fear of the Lord. Hoping in God's mercy is tied in with

fear of the Lord. So when you expect things to happen for you,

do you expect things to happen for you? If you treat God like you

do your pet, it just won't happen. But if you in your heart

always treat God like he is God, I dare say that things will never

go wrong for you, because if they go wrong for you, it means

that something better, something more powerful, something more awesome is about to come

your way and you are being ready to handle it. Most people don't become

millionaires because they don't know how to handle. But if you know how to

handle being a millionaire before God's eyes, God will give it to you.

So what does that mean? You have to find out for yourself. But

I do know this that if you hope in his mercy, you're one that

fears the Lord. And the Bible says that God has his eyes on you.

If that is the case, so is it good having God's eyes on

you? You better believe it. You go to officer and your boss is

looking What are you always looking at me? Why you're always watching me?

You don't trust me? When the world has their eye on you, sometimes

you're got to wonder whether it's because they feel your threat to them. But

you know, God's not like that. When God has his eyes on us,

it's because he wants to bless us. When the world has their eyes

on us, there's a question. Okay, So let's understand this a little

bit further. God's eyes is God? Does God have? Okay? I

asked this question. Please put up your hands. How many you think that

God has eyes like us. Can I see your heads? How many you

think God's got eyes? He's got eyes? Eh, so you think God's

got eyes, I got news for you. I don't think anyone has ever

seen God having eyes because the Bible says that God is a spirit, He's

not a physical being. The process or the physicality of eyes was for our

benefit, not God's. Bible says we were created in God's image. God.

God does not see the way we see. When we see, we

only see from here to hear. This is our side. When God sees,

he sees, he sees everything. So how can God's eyes be our

eyes or be like ours? You see, God has to speak in language

that we understand. We understand what an I is, and we understand what

an eye does. So if God were to speak to us in his concept

of eyes, we will not understand. So God, when he speaks in

Scripture, he's speaking to us in language that we understand. So God doesn't

have eyes like us. But God has vision. God has focused, and

today we want to learn a little bit about that. So God's eyes are

not physical because God is a spirit. You know that. Another important point

is that when God talks about his eyes, he's actually talking about his insights.

God is offering an important insight to us about himself when he says God's

eyes are on us. God wants us to learn something. There's something he

wants to teach us. He has an insight. He has a deeper understanding

of what side is. Our sight is physical. We see red as red,

but when he sees red, he sees the one trillion brilliant shade of

red. But we just see red. But when God sees red, he

is probably talking about the trillion god brilliant shade of that color. See the

difference. He can probably name it. He can name each in every red.

We only know red is red. God offers important insight. It is

explained in ways we understand. And why is all this important? You're about

to find out. God wants us to know that he has his eyes on

us, and the reason is to bring us hope. You know, God

wants us to have hope in a hopeless world. In case you think that

this world is your best friend, it is not. The world is out

to get you. The world has never been and I've always said, this

has never been your friend. The world has always been out to draw you

away from God. But God's insight that he wants to give you is He

has always meant for you to be a successful master in this world, all

right, So it is to bring us God's eyes. Now, I want

to share with you certain aspects about God's vision today. And this is not

complete. It is not complete, but it is just that which God has

put on my heart to talk about this morning. So there are many There

probably are so many other insights, but today I'm only going to share three.

So what do God's eyes do? Number one, they see God's eyes

see. Oh, that's a no brainer, right. Our eyes see and

God's eyes see, no brainer. So what do God's eyes do? They

see God's eyes look, God's eyes look. There's a difference between sea and

look. And they also watch God's eyes also watch. It all sounds the

same, right is it? Is it really the same? Well, let's

delve into this a little bit. God's eyes see now in Luke twenty three,

verse thirty nine, and I think that's the right verse. Yes.

Then one of the criminals who was hanged, who were hanged, blesphemed him

saying, if you are the Christ, save yourself and us. You know

this story, right? The two thieves were hung on across one of the

left, one of the right, and Jesus was hung in the center.

And if you read the other portions of scripture, you will find that both

these thieves ridiculed the Lord. Both of them did. It is just like

us, because sometimes we ridiculeed God. How many of us ridicule God before

we became believers? How many of us? I am mo con yesu?

Why not don't talk Jesus? You know what that word more cong That phrase

means more cong YESU? Don't talk nonsense? Am I right? Those of

you then understand cantonese more cong YESU? Don't talk nonsense with me? So

you equate Jesus with nonsense. You're like both these criminals who ridiculed the Lord.

But praise the Lord. That one day one of you turned around and

said, watch it, man, just like one of these criminals said.

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, do you not even fear God?

Can you imagine that the words that come out of this this criminal's mount

was do you not fear God? And what will be talking about? When

God sees he sees what those who fear him? So now this criminal says,

do you not even fear God? Seeing you are under the same condemnation.

Who are you to talk to this man about that when you are hanging

the same way that he is. That's a paraphraious version. So praise the

Lord that one day some insight came into our heart, and then we started

telling ourselves Congyizu speak Jesus. I don't understand candanese. I don't, but

a few words I understand. I remember there was one meeting that I was

attending this contractor's meeting, and the contractor was trying to steal a million dollars

I'm not kidding. And when I asked a certain question, he spoke to

the resident engineer and he said, Mokong. So I looked at him,

said, Mokong, what what are you telling him not to tell me?

The follow shore. I also was shocked. I understood what he was saying.

So I actually took the contract and I threw it on the table,

and I said, I don't care whether you say or you don't say.

Whatever's in here, you do. So the thing is this, do you

not even fear God? So somewhere along the line, fear of God came

into one of them, and I love Jesus reply. In Luke twenty three

forty two, Jesus replied to him, and I can guarantee you almost all

of us have never understood this verse the way it was meant to be understood,

and so when we read it, we just glance over it, not

drawing out the real truth. But today I'm going to try and replicate what

might have happened at this point of time to give you an understanding of this

verse. And I promise you that once you receive it, you will never

read this verse the same way. In Luke twenty three forty two, and

he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

So now the Robert turns to Jesus and says, remember me when you

come into your kingdom. Somewhere along the line, faith came into his heart

and he saw Jesus. For who Jesus was on the cross, he was

probably the first one to see the potential that was about to take place where

nobody else could. He had an insight. Fear of God gave him an

insight into Jesus the way no one on earth at that point of time had

ever received from God. He was the first. Lord, remember me,

at this prayer, there wasn't Oh, God, forgive me for my sins.

You know, I shouldn't have done it, but I didn't. I

should have done this, but I didn't do it. Lord, Please forgive

me. You know I've not led a very good life. You know I

try not to steal. But I store and long, long stories, and

we praise the Lord. God is very patient to listen to all our long

stories. Because every time you go to God in pray, it's a long

story. But you know, God is willing to accept a bridge version.

Lord, remember me. The bridge version cut all the other things off.

Lord, remember me. It's very important for us to understand God has been

with us. He knows everything you've already done wrong. You just need to

say God, for everything I've done wrong. And I know you've seen it

all. I don't need to go to each and everyone, but if one

I can. But for now, remember me. And this is the verse

forty three, And Jesus said to him, surely, I say I'm to

you today you will be in paradise in great pain. At the moment when

he was almost about to die, how many of you had a splinter would

splinter in your finger. How many of you had joyful experience? Very painful?

Right? He had the splintered cross on his back. It wasn't smooth

and carved out like the door frames. It was a horribly put together piece

of wood, and his raw back, which was ripped to shreds. His

back was on that wood and he was hanging there, dehydrated, almost incapable

of breathing. But even in that moment, he could look, He could

see the person who had offered faith to him and respond. And his answer

was, today, do we get the heart of God? His purpose for

us is today? You know it's today. I'm going to make a difference

in your life today. And even when I'm at my worst, my heart

is for you today and those of us that do not know Jesus as Lord,

and save it today. When the offer is given to know Jesus,

many people sometimes say, oh, no, I don't need him, No

I don't want Oh I don't feel right. Oh not today. This is

the Son of God hanging on that cross, saying that because you have offered

me to faith faith, I see it. And today there's a difference in

your life. I promise you when you read this verse from now on,

it will never come across you the same way. Because when the Lord gave

me an insight into what this meant at that point of time, how can

you be the same. You can't, you know. In Mark twelve forty

one, Jesus said, opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money

into the treasury. If you are running a ministry, you see people gonna

put money in the ministry, you're very happy, very happy. But nothing

excited Jesus until he saw many put in a lot. But you know,

there was one woman who just put in two copper minds. That excited him.

Why because when Jesus sees faith, he also sees sacrifice. And here

was a person who had nothing but gave everything. And those that have a

lot give something? Which is better? You have a lot, give something,

or you have nothing and give everything? Which is better? Jesus gave

the answer sacrifice. So what catches his attention? What does Jesus see?

He sees faith, he sees sacrifice. Let's move on. God looks,

God looks is second one right? God looks? So what actually is looking?

Looking speaks of something intentional? Now seeing is also intentional, but seeing

his focus. Seeing. Seeing is having your eyes open. Looking is something

a little bit deeper. It's searching for something. This son is a little

bit of management that sounds like management searching. It speaks of an active finding

and active finding. It is also to find for use. When you look

for something, it is to find for use. How many of you would

look for things you don't want to use? You look in your cupboard,

you find many things that are there you never use. You know why you

never use because you don't look for it. You will look for that one

thing you need to use, the one You go through the whole house to

purpose driven management, so purpose driven. It is to fill a vacant position.

So now this is needs based what Jesus has needs. This is a

needs base, very specific. Guess I say it sounds like management. Look,

okay, look you know when you say look for you look for someone

when you are as a manager. Let's say you are looking for an accountant.

Do you ever say in your add we are seeing for an accountant,

we are watching for an accountant. Do you ever say that? No?

What do you say? We are looking for an accountant. Why there is

a need for a specific purpose. Let me explain. In Matthew nine.

Oh, okay, I got it right. Okay. In Matthew nine thirty

five, it says, then Jesus went about all the cities and villages,

teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every

sickness in every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes,

he was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered,

like sheep having no shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, the harvest

truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord

of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. What is Jesus looking

for? He is looking for laborers. Why you call me a laborer?

Better to be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord than to be a

king in a palace without Jesus. Better to be a laborer in the service

of the Lord than to be a ceo the mercities. Benz, I'll tell

you the ceo in the mercities. Benz has only his life span to enjoy

after he leaves this earth, and he doesn't know Jesus, he will experience

a different kind of experience, just like that man who say, please send

the beggar back to go and tell my family about Jesus, about the Lord,

because I don't want them to come to this horrible place. And what

did Abraham tell him? They have the prophets. If they don't listen to

the prophets, they won't listen to this man who comes back from the dead.

So the thing is this God expects us to be laborers in his service.

Hey, does that mean you have to stand up here and preach?

He could mean that, but does it mean that. No, Why does

Jesus make a point to say, look around us, the harvest is there.

Do you realize the economy is out there? There is so much economy,

the laborers are few. Seek you first, the Kingdom of God,

and all these things should be added unto you. So now understand this God

is actually telling us there is a ripe harvest, in this case, the

harvest for souls, and we are looking to go and stand on that box

and preach and hope that people come to the Lord. No, how about

just talking to your friend on the side of you you don't have to start

with a you're going to have no, that's what we used to do in

the seventies. Okay, but God wants us to talk about his love,

which is you know that. Hey, I understand you're going through this problem.

Do you know I went through a certain circumstance like this until one day

somebody told me about Jesus. I I gave my life to him and he

helped me. It's about talking to the guy next to you. You all

had the testimony I shed just a simple autograph, brought a miracle to a

man who was about to die, and then he is now a pastor because

of it. At the time when I wrote that in his autograph book and

sheard that little portion of Jesus with him, did I know that one day

it was going to help him in that way? I did not know.

But what I did know was Jesus can help you. Hey, guy,

we run into troubler, just ask Jesus and he will help you. That's

what I could do for him. Was that sharing Jesus? Yes, because

there how was this is plentyfuol, Just share. I told you recently,

I shared with that friend of mine. Hey, I don't want you wanted

to when you meet Jesus Christ. You see, Terrence never told me.

I'm telling you now do with it what you will. But I'm here to

help you if you ever need Jesus. You see, God just expects you

to work with the person around you. Do you know we got so tired

of calling friends to come for homes. You call them to come to church.

All do want to come? You tell them to come to homes.

All the want to come. So you know what we started doing. We

started calling neighbors whom we don't know. Meet them on the road. If

you're having this, you want to come to the house, they come,

They come, and then they become your friends. So I am tired of

looking for friends to share Jesus with. So you know what, I just

share with those there I don't know. Now the harvest is plentiful, and

God is looking for people to go in. You know what, think about

it? What happens when you enter the harvest, your harvest? You read

when let's say you go to sekin Chung and you got those paddy paddy petty

fields, kilometers and kilometers of paddy fields, and now the rice is right

for the harvest Hey, when you are harvesting the rice, are you get

to eat it as well? For your harvests you don't eat, you know

in New Zealand and they're asking for people to go to work in New Zealand

as strawberry because you think you're not allowed to eat the strawberries. Of course

you can't. But in New Zealand probably one strawberriy is this big? You

eat too, you're full. You go to camin Islands, you eat fifty

also cannot because also small. The issue is this, It means that you

share the hovest. You share the prosperity of the Hovest. Did you know

that? Pray to the Lord? So God is looking for people to enter

the harvest field and the last one watching watching? You know, watching is

much deeper than seeing or looking. Watching is a little bit more focused in

attention. So what is God watching for when he sees us? What's he

watching out for? So watching is to be focused for a purpose, something

else that he wants to do. It shows great care, concern and definitely

it means God is deeply interested in our welfare. Because God's watching out for

us, how many of us understand this? We watch out for somebody you

watch out for your children. Your child is going and walking towards a hole,

you will let your child fall in her You will say stop, and

if the child doesn't stop, you'll run up to the child and you'll grab

the child before it falls into the hall WII, because you're watching out for

your child. And if you're like an Asian parent, after that, you'll

smack your child. Don't you know? If you fall into the hole,

you will hurt yourself. So since you want to hurt yourself, now mine

I hurt you smack? How many of us have experienced that as kids write

when we get hurt, her first will come and you know clean up the

wounding. After that will smack you. So either way, might as well

fall into the hole, get the pain. Don't fall in the hole,

also get in the pain. So you know, watching out for when you

are watching out for your kid, John, watching out for your child,

somebody going to attack your child, You're going to say, here's my cheek,

then here's the other cheek. If that person is going to attack your

child, you will not think twice that thing you punch on your wall,

attention. You're watching out for That's how God watches out for us. God

is watching out for us, you know in Luke fifteen twenty. So now

we have the prodigal side and he walks away from God. He walks away,

you know there's God run after him. No, don't walk, my

son, No, don't walk. God doesn't you want to walk? Go?

One thing we learn about God. If we want to leave him,

he will let us go. If we want to leave God, he will

let us go. But I promise you one thing. His eyes are always

watching out for you. He's always watching out for you. Because one day

you will come to your senses and you will see your stupidity got you nowhere.

And then you will say, i will go back to my father and

I will say I'm not worthy to be called your son. Treat me as

a servant. And the moment the Bible says that you turn in the direction

and you take that step, guess what, God comes running to you because

he's got his focus on you, his watching out for you. That's the

only scription that says God ran and he arose and came to his father,

and when he was still a great way of his father saw him and had

compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. Do you think

the father allowed the son to say, you're not my father anymore. I'll

be your servant. Hey, what did the father do? Put the robe

on him, put the ring on the finger. The robe is the royalty,

the ring is the authority. And put the sandals on the feet protection

from pain. That's how God watches out for us. He wants us to

enjoy he's covering. He wants us to enjoy his authority, and he wants

us to enjoy his comfort and peace. That's how God watches out for us.

How can we not love God? How can we not fear God like

this? How can we not want him in our lives? Who, in

his most dying moments will still think of receiving us into his paradise. So

what does it mean to have God watching out for us? It means that

no weapon formed against us shall prosper. And trust me, this world is

forming weapons against us each and every day. How many of you realize that

even in the best times in your working career, there will always be some

people nipping at your heels. There will always be people trying to make trouble

for you. Why weapons being formed against you is a surety, but none

of them will prosper. That is true. You know that the Bible also

is telling us that because he's watching out for us, he will never leave

us nor forsake us. We take this verse for granted. He will never

leave us nor forsake us, but we can leave him. You know.

The Scripture says that one who has tasted the knowledge, the faith, the

love of God, when they leave, order very difficult for them to come

back. And I've seen this in my own eyes, in my own experience.

There was one person who was full time, loved the Lord, wonderful

spirit, pleasant, loved by everybody, peaceful, loved the Lord so much.

Then he did something and he left the Lord. There was over forty

five years ago. He left the Lord from a pastor to not wanting to

know God. And I asked someone this question, why is it difficult for

him to come back? Scripture said it, one who has known the love

of God who has walked away, it's not so easy for them to come

back because they've given up something. They've tasted something so good, and they

say it's not for me. God respects it, but want you to know

that He will never leave you nor forsake you. That means that that guy

only has to turn and God will come running to him. We are his

sons and his daughters. Did you know that we are his sons and his

daughters. You watch your son, you watch your daughter. You mean to

say, God doesn't watch out for us the same way, but sometimes he

allows us to make mistakes. Do you know that as a little child,

you will not allow your child to fall into a ditch. But when your

child becomes old, is now a teen or young working a doubt and you

see them doing wrong, you know the hardest thing is to let them do

it, because they deserve the right to find out for themselves. It boggles

my mind. We did T four two with xbusterday. We had a great

time. It boggles my mind that some people, you know, don't want

to learn from older people. You know. It boggles my mind because when

you are older, you've gone through it before, and you're telling the person

if you don't do this to your bicycle one day, the chain is going

to snap and it's going to be difficult for you because you've gone through it

before. So you shared that experience. Now, if you're a wise person,

you will say what should you do so that the change does not snap?

Then you listen to wisdom, grease your chain wants a man wisdom?

No, no, no, I don't want to listen from you. Let

me learn it my own way. One day you're cycling, going for thirty

kilometer cycling thing, and fifteen kilometers in the middle of nowhere the chain breaks.

Who suffers for fifteen kilometers? You gotta pushed by who suffers? You

suffer? But learn from the wisdom of those who are older, you know,

because they've been down that road before. Why go through the same thing.

Oh no, no, no, no, I must learn it myself.

Killer. We are willing to let you learn it yourself, but we

are there to help you if you need help. And this is what it

is, sons and daughters. So sometimes you know, learn from other people

what not to do, what to do. Learn, And that's the way

God teaches. First thing, he will stop you. Then after a little

while, I did something for my child. Don't you ever do it unless

the Lord tells you to. My daughter had this habit. She wanted to

go and touch the electric lights on the Christmas tree. She wanted to touch

it. No, don't touch. No wanted, No, don't touch.

You want to touch? How am I going to teach this kid? Because

I cannot be there all the time, right, So I saw where hand

was going, so my hand was on the switch. So she went and

this time I didn't tell her don't touch this, so she touched. I

shut it off. She ever touched another wire. Again, you don't do

it, okay, please don't do it. For me. I was fully

focused on what was happening, because if I'm not around and she goes and

touches that, it could be fatal. And since she's not listening to me,

don't touch, don't touch, don't touch. She learned it don't touch

from that time onwards. When I tell them don't touch, and it could

be anything, they don't touch because they know I have the best interest at

heart. And that's like God. And lastly, all that brings us to

one point. He chastises those he loves. Hey, God loves you.

I loved my daughter. That was a chastisement she needed to learn. God

will sometimes chest tie because he loves us. Oh does that mean that when

God has his eyes on us sometimes he's gonna smack us. Yes, you

know what you're supposed to do when that happens. Thank you, Lord,

what you thank God for smacking you? He smacks those he loves. Thank

you for your love that you are interested to set me straight. How many

of us can actually thank the Lord for correcting us? But if we can

come to that stage, I praise the Lord we have arrived, because then

we understand what love is. Did Peter walk away from Jesus when Jesus said

get behind me? Sitting Peter still followed Jesus, even though Jesus ridiculed him,

well, chastised him in front of everybody. From Thou the Christ,

the son of the Living God, bless you, Simon bar Joona for flesh

and blood. It's not realist to you, but my father Nevin. And

the very next moment Jesus tells him, get thee behind me, Satan,

do not hinder the work of God. God will chastise those he loves.

And I got some parting words for you in Matthew twenty eight nineteen. And

you always are hearing me share about this now like a broken record. Go

therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of

the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. You know why

I keep sharing this with you because Jesus is coming again soon, and I

will keep reminding you of that. Because the harvest is plentiful. Go in

and save some people, Go in and save some people, get them away

from a life without Jesus, and I will keep reminding you of that.

So even this whole message has its reason in that direction. And I want

to share with you this last scripture. The last scripture is twenty four to

forty six. Blessed is that servant whom he is master when he comes will

find so doing. How blessed you and I are if when Jesus comes,

he finds us working in those fields like a laborer. I want you to

know this. You will be a laborer now for his kingdom, but in

his kingdom you will serve him as a king. What a great exchange.
