You're listening to a message to go from asks church.

We hope this message will light up your day.

All right, here we go. Let's look at some definitions.

Number one, mission, A mission is a word that we

all know. What's your mission when you go there? What's

your mission? What's your mission in life? What's your mission

for doing this? What's your mission for doing that? So

it's simply this, right, what's your cause, what's your aim?

What's your purpose for doing this?

All right? Very important to have a mission.

But in our church and in many other churches that

understand this, there is another word called missions with the

ass at the back. So let's turn to that. Missions

with just as in the back, makes a whole difference.

It's a mission, which we heard earlier, a cause, the aim,

a purpose, a mission that is cross cultural, that is

outside your culture, outside your language group, outside your comfort zone.

Okay, so we use missions.

So we said it's a missions conference means you know

that when you come, you're going to be listening to

something that is beyond your comfort zone, listening to something

that beyond your familiarity. U pastor plan is not only

the former senior pastor of a reservoir Garden Baptist Church.

I love when I say this because ken elk just

reminded me that many years ago he passed ballin and

his group from Reservoir Garden Baptist Church came to a

meeting that I was speaking at, and my message today

was be a river, not a reservoir, and and his

people started to nudging rite faster.

We cannot be Reservoir Garden Baptists anymore. Reservo a place. Okay.

So he came up to me and Sai passor Kenneth,

I really love your message, but you know you were

giving me a hard time with my church members who

now want to change our name from Reservoir Garden Baptist

Church to the River Garden.

Okay.

Anyway, he's not just a former pastor of a Reservoir

Garden Baptist Church, but he's also now just recently become

the chairman of the Baptist Convention of Malaysia. Means he

oversees all the Baptist churches in Malaysia. Sadly, he told me,

because he goes around Malaysia. He told me that during

the pandemic, over twenty Baptist churches closed because people were

not coming, people were not giving their titson offering, so

the pastest salary couldn't be paid and a lot of

stuff that happened. So then he talked with me and said,

you know, past A Kendas, can we work together so

that we can help to stop churches from closing down.

When I went to Sib, Sib has the same problem

in Sarahwah where you know, five hundred and forty pastors

for seven hundred churches, so.

They are lacking one hundred and sixty pastors.

And last year Sib Sarawa just graduated two people from

Bible School two, so we're not sure whether two is

ever going to meet one hundred and sixty need. And

every year less and less young people are signing up

for Bible School and for missions. It's a very scary moment,

especially for Sarawa because Sarawa really still until today is

the bedrock of Christianity for Malaysia because of the health

of Christianity in Malaysia. That's why we can say we

are nine ten percent, because in Somnanjo, Malaysia, we are

less than three percent Christian and the survey has been

out that in the next ten years if you continue

to be what we are, do what we do, pray

like how we pray, which is not enough.

It will be less than one percent Christian in Samananjo.

And so the only one that's holding Malaysia up as

far as Christian stats is Sarawa. And so I feel

called really you know, in the next few years are

to actually invest more into Sarawa. But Sarawa again is

very cross cultural, so soth Ors because it's tribal, maybe.

More of them speak Bahasa.

And so we're talking about making sure that ex church

continues to keep the heart pumping with missions in our lives. Okay,

so missions conference, Passa Parland, Passa Suria. I think she's

not a pastor, but people call her pastor anyway because

she does.

A lot of pastoral work.

So they went to Nepal as missionaries about maybe fifteen

years ago, and they went to start a Bible school.

And in their Bible school they train a lot of pastors.

I think now the pastes they train have gone out

to start fifty over churches already in Nepower. And so

he's known as a pastor of pastors. But many stories

in Nepal. He tells me stories of deliverance. And he says,

there's one particular guy that the disciples who is now.

Called the deliverer of deliverance in.

Nepal only because he's a very small guy, small size, short,

but the devil is quite afraid of his authority. So

there's one particular time he told me in the power,

you know, they've got so many different opportunities for spiritual encounters.

There one particular one I remember he said that a

person came into the church and started walking on the wall.

Uh and uh, so he you know, sometime he joke say,

he pass, have you ever seen.

Spider Man in real life?

And so this guy, because of the evil spirit, he

could jump on walls and stick to it, and then

he jumped to another wall. He jumped to another wall

so people couldn't catch him, and then he would be

disturbing the whole service because you know, the preacher would

be pitching.

And he said a group of Americans.

Uh. And I think he said the eighty percent of

the American missionaries that came for that one week a

well from the American Football Association and American footballer. This

guy's a big size and tall and muscular and all that,

but they were so scared they started to shiver when

they saw spiritual things like that happening.

And then they didn't know what to do.

And then they didn't have they didn't have the authority

or they didn't know their authority. And then in comes

his men, short guy I think probably about four four

nine for ten, right, small sized guy, and he just

pointed at that a person who was on the wall

and he said, come down now, you know, and the

guy fell to the ground right and uh.

And then so the stories are it's amazing.

I just I just love the fact that the best

stories are found emissions.

The best stories sometimes very sadly, and the most boring

stories are where you are at.

Uh, and I pray it will not be so.

So that's why I have now and then now we

must do missions now and then we must go all right,

see some spider mans here and they're no no problem,

they don't have where no worry are you know, and

neither name of Jesus authority.

No, you can also do it here. You can also

do it here.

And I'll tell you that the missions is not just

only about overseas, it's also at your backyard. Okay, So

reaching out the different than us, that's it. That's missions. Missions,

reaching others different than us outside of our own culture,

outside of our comfort zone. That is the basis of missions.

That's why missions is so important in this church. That's

why we give a whole month for it, because most

of us, in our natural tendency will not ever think

about people outside our comfort zone.

That's just natural. You with me? Uh, and so we

need this now.

However, you know that a health check is important from

time to time, but how many are you like it?

My wife doesn't like it at all.

She when she hear pep smear, she's like, please God,

help me get me the right doctor, female doctor. And

the last time my wife had has pep smear was

something like seven years ago.

Okay, and she actually should be having it a bit

more of But anyway, just general health check.

Go. So my wife doesn't want to go because no needles. No,

who likes leader here? Like, Lord, please give me another needle,

you know a lot. I'm praying for another needle. No, no, no,

we thank God for doctors. We thank God, you know,

for medical professionals who help us get our health check.

I go yearly now I go yearly now because they

say after fifty year you try to go, you know.

So missions is a health check. We don't we.

Feel we don't need it. In fact, we don't want it,

but we need it. We need it. How many are

you like to take medicine? No, but again it's a need.

How many of you like to supplements? Every time I

see a photo of a friend. As we grow older,

the bottles or supplements increase, you know, on our table.

And when we're younger, there's no supplements, and younger no supplements.

But parents have the force us to take vitamin see.

You know.

But when we're younger, we get all these vitamins, you know,

to exercise or whatever it is. And then I saw

one picture of a man that day and I saw

I looked at him, and I saw he was.

Taking at his desk and he's like smiling.

But I saw no at least about seven bottles or

eight bottles of supplements.

How do you think more?

I know, but no one liked to take supplements, but

we take it anyway.

Why we needed And.

Actually the older we grow, even in the faith, the

more we need missions. Because the older we grow, the

more comfortable. We get the more I don't know, maybe

the more reasons that we have to spend our money,

and so missions usually get the last thought. But it

shouldn't be. It shouldn't be. It keeps us really, our

hearts pumping. You ask anybody who has got up for

missions come back. They will say I didn't want to go.

Probably they say I didn't want to go, really, but

when I came back, I was so blessed. Have you

what people say? Do you actually? I thought I went

to bless them, but they bless me. Have you heard

that before? It's true, It's true. That's why even if

you don't go for the health che you don't. I

think that some people don't. They make you take it anyway.

You do missions anyway. Ex Church, you think why it's cheap.

It's not cheap. You saw all those amounts as ow

eight hundred one thousand a year we give to missions.

But you know, it's a beautiful thing because once upon

a time, when I started this church, by the grace

of God, twenty four years ago, we only had three people,

and when we collected the offeringer every Sunday, it was

probably about fifty ringit one hundred ringgit and the mores.

If we are blessed that week. Right now we're talking

about eight hundred thousand wingit that you guys raised, you.

Know, so it's a sign of health.

It's a sign that from one hundred ingit a week,

three people in the church to what we can do

today is a sign of God's blessing. It's a sign

of God's you know, prospering us to be able to

be a blessing. So we are blessed to be a blessing.

Everybody're gay? Yeah, so this is very important. Now, next light, say,

Jesus not only went on a mission, he only had

a cause, aim a purpose, but he also went on missions.

How many of you know that he also left a

very beautiful, comfortable place in heaven.

To come down to us.

Compared to heaven on earth is like a rubbish dumb

many many years ago, you know, we were invited to

go to what you call Smoky Mountain.

Have you heard of that? In Philippines?

Smoky Mountain basically is just a whole area acus and

acres of area for rubbish. So the rubbish truck comes

and they try to burn up the rubbish. But every

time they try to burn up the rubbish, another ten

more trucks come. So is a continuous burning of rubbish.

That's why it's called Smoky Mountains. Mountain of rubbish, all right.

There are pictures of it, you know, you can get

on the internet. And I remember the Lord said to

me one day when I you know, when I was there,

says to me, when I left Heaven to go to earth,

it was like going to smoky mountain, you know, because

our trash in this earth, our unrighteousness, all right, will

just cause the Lord to puke, you know, right, because

he's so righteous, so holy. But he left heaven for us.

Are you willing to leave your heaven for someone else's

woking mountain? Are you all with me? Because if Jesus

didn't come, we have no hope. So will we be

a hope to others? Jesus said in Matthew twenty eight,

verse nineteen, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father and of

the Son and of the Holy Spirit. So Jesus not

only came for a mission. He came for missions, but

he not only did those two things he sends us

to do the same if you believe it, say amen, nations.

Let's talk about nations for a minute.

It means ethnicity, all right, which means people group. So

nations is not just you know uku.

You know.

Nations is not just Australia. A nation is not just

China or America. It's not just countries. It's ethne ethnicity.

People group.

So in Malaysia, there are many nations in your neighborhood,

candal gardens, Onsidium, written Bayou, there are many nations. When

you go and eat lunch, there are nations within that restaurant.

Who's your cooker from Vietnam or this nation?

People group who's serving you are Menma, that's the people group.

Are you also with me?

That's why I keep saying you can do missions also

here where you are in your office, everybody okay, next

one local or international? The slight says near or far.

So get ready to do some local missions, missions that

are near you. And get ready also at least once

a year, if not once in two years, get ready

to do some international missions, all right. And our own

churches are found in ten nations. In the end of August,

we're going to Germany to plant ex Germany and already

a Gird and praise God.

Message to Passendra saying we have some money now to

buy some chairs and so show us Southeast chairs and uh.

And Passendra knows that I like to have foldable chairs,

especially in apartment setting because easy to pack away. So

Passer told Gird, you know, buy some a fodable chairs.

So we're talking missions constantly, talking about people groups that

are beyond our language and comfort zone because it keeps

our heart healthy. Otherwise, I tell you what, You've gotta

have spiritual cholesterol. It's going to clock your spiritual heart.

And the only way to avoid spiritual cholesterol that will

clocked your spiritual arteries is to continue to allow the

blood of missions to go through it.

Are you still with me?

It's really really God's way of getting these people out

of the comfort zone and out of spiritual cholesterol. X

one eight says this, But you shall receive power when

the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall

be witnesses to me in Jerusalem. Somebody in Jerusalem that's here,

that's right here where you are, and in all Judea

that's not here, that's outside of here. And this is

for every Christian that you must not only think about

your family only, and your neighborhood only and your office only.

Here you must, and I must, and we must as

a church also consider Judaea outside Jerusalem, outside our comfort

zone Samaria, and to the end of the earth outside

comfort zone. Says the next slide outside outside your color.

The first thing you see in a person ten meters

away is his color. That's why I put it first.

And once you see a color difference, really, if you

have lenses that are prejudiced, you know what you're gonna do.

You're gonna walk away, You're gonna look away, You're gonna say, oh,

you know that color is not my color.

And because not my color, that's not my business. Are

you with me?

The first thing we see, I pray in the name

of Jesus that we will be color blind, because Jesus

is color blind.

And in this church, you know, we don't consider color.

We thank God for the various tribes and people groups

that are here worshiping the dot together, because that's what

heaven do will look like.

Heaven.

I tell you why you think all white people in

heaven all just Asian people.

No, no, no, he he who.

Created variety wants variety to stand before him. But how

will variety stand before him if we don't see with

his eyes outside our culture? You know, I see this

happening all the time. It's very natural. And those who

that because when I shook her husband's head yesterday, I said, Hi,

I'm you know, your wife's neighbor. I didn't say I say,

I would never say that.

She said it. She said it.

So I said, I'm your wife's neighbor. And he looked

down on you. Yeah, I heard of you before. So

then my wife was a sort she said, I said,

you don't know what she told him, you know. Yeah,

so anyway she said, she said, I saved her life

and then you know, don't know how many teachers. So

now she's fifty years old. Her daughter got married yes

day and got married to a British guy. Uh So,

you know, I thought, I said, wow, this is you know,

are you going to be comfortable to compact? Was hitting,

you know, and I was very hungry, you know, but

on this particular table is this round you know, that

particular container that contains about six different dishes. Yeah, and

you know I I I told Basender when I was

driving back, I ate more in Penang than I ate

it is wedding, you know. But culturally Chinese that will

feed you nine different dishes right before you say good night.

be caught up with the food or the lack of it,

be caught up with the people that I died for,

you know, so we were very quick to complain, make

It's very important, very very important. Christians.

You must be all around, a bit, all around the sea,

belief system, outside your convenience, missions is gonna give you

four eyes. Not talking about people with glasses, but four eyes.

Number one mission is investment. It is an investment. Christianity

is very easy except for two words, give and go.

If you take away give and go from Christianity, it's

like any other religion.

Go is so hard to know to do. Go is

get out of your comport zone.

Go, Go speak to that person, Smile at that waiter,

you know, say hello to the teximan or the grab driver.

Maybe he's the You're the only Christian he's ever going

to meet. If you are the only Cristian he's ever

going to meet? And how is he ever going to

hear the gospel? Now, maybe you don't so quickly share

the gospel because you are so you're a bit nervous,

but at least say hello, start a conversation. I started

a composition with a grat driver one time during the pandemic,

and he said, I can't wait to go back to

the mosque. He said, but the most only allows fifty people,

or fifty.

Because I line up for my God?

So I said, sir, I'm like you.

The first Sunday the government allowed Exchurch to start. I there,

I started, Oh you put ula citing goodness. You know,

I hear a lot of people that use my grab.

They are Christian. They still haven't gone back to church.

Their church is still not open. I say, no, no, no,

I don't know who they are.

But remember the name ex Church. I told him because the.

Very first Sunday, and we also couldn't hand not to

come back because we serve a great God.

He's got so very great but he always misses because

he's the fifty first person there. He is next Friday.

I'm going to be there early because of his great God.

But my God is greater. So I said, I was there. Really,

I was the first one there. You're with me. I

sometimes think we need to earn the right to speak

to people. We are scared. They are not because they

say that God can protect them. It's an investment. Number

two is inconvenient, of course it is. It is if

it is convenient everyone everyone in this room that if

I ask you this year twenty two three, how many

of you have gone outside and go for missions. I

don't know how many hands will go up. It's inconvenient.

It's an investment. Sometimes takes a three thousand rings to

It's good for your family. It's good for your marriage.

It's good for your children because your children will see

and go like Dad, I'm going to continue this legacy

when I'm older.

You don't just.

Tell them, You show them. This is the way. Take

Some missions is really an insurance for your heart. There

is nothing else I've seen in the Bible that is stronger.

That's why Jesus himself did it. Jesus himself did missions,

and he asked Paul to do it. Paul asked Timothy

to do it. And through the years, right, it's fall

me as I follow Christ because it really does help

our hearts stay healthy and internal internal. Why do I

say you think missions that is about external? Miss Go

Do you know that there are more internal issues that

are going on when you're out there.

to restore language.

And the language wasn't for you.

But the language was not for them themselves. The language given,

the new language given to their apostles and to the

one hundred and twenty waiting the upper room, was a

language for the world, the language for the unreach, the

language for people that hasn't yet received Christ. This language

is not just for the betterment of our own family.

This language is for the betterment of the people that

do not yet know Christ. Can I hear a good amen?

What language would God give you today? And will it

just be for yourself or wily be for others? And

when we still didn't get it, I hope all of

you got it. But if we still haven't got it,

I mean I'm preaching, Untila. I'm sretting now, you know,

even though it's so called, because because I feel like

God's God's in this house and he wants to speak

to us.
