You're listening to a message to go from acts church. We hope this message
-
will light up your day. I'm gonna put up a quick slide from the
-
previous time I've came here. I don't have time to go through this because
-
obviously it's entire sermon you're going to look through it. But I did come
-
and talk a little bit about the context of obedience and how God's will actually
-
start up with a promise and then eventually there is a part on our part,
-
which is the which is the feet to actually walk in obedience. Okay,
-
so he gives he sees something in you in terms of a promise.
-
He will tell you through your ears, and then you have to then obey.
-
That's why there's a walking part, and then only his hand can release
-
their blessings. Okay, look through the recordings if you needed to, But
-
this is gonna be some continuation, but more focused on God's promise everybody,
-
Okay, using what we've read earlier in the second Kings. Now I see
-
a few parents around here. I always like to use examples. My son
-
doesn't like it that use his examples, but anyway, you know, when
-
we have whenever you're a parent, right. You always want to advise your
-
kids, and you want a I want to call a real quick response or
-
obedience. That's what we've mentioned the last time around. You want a positive
-
response. Right. So what has happened as of late? You may know
-
that I deal with a teenage kid, Zachary. Hello, uh and and
-
and and I'm just gonna I promise you I'll share about your brother as well,
-
Okay, uh, because it's right not fair anyway. I think yesterday
-
I was the day before, there was some things that he has done for
-
some instructions by Jazz h he followed, true, and then I gave him
-
some further instructions about how he should do certain things, and some accidents happen
-
in short, because he didn't follow the instructions they've given him. He's gonna
-
cry soon. Uh and then uhs exchange in words okay, so not not
-
not not not not so much about what's happened. I think that that is
-
again a process. But what I'm trying to say is that sometimes the Lord
-
brings us as parents through the period of patience as well, right, because
-
sometimes we see certain things and then we're like, I can see it happening.
-
I told you so kind of thing is going to come up if you
-
do not listen right, and and but sometimes you have to allow the kids
-
to learn. Right, you learn from it. Cool, you're not gonna
-
embrassing too much. Yeah, but you know, Jess keeps telling me you
-
gotta be more patient the son, my son, yes, like yeah,
-
because he's learning how to follow instructions. And sometimes I again not saying that
-
I'm God, but sometimes I feel that God is in that position as a
-
parent. Sometimes he sees certain things and he somehow will tell us. But
-
of course when I say telling, it is God's way of communicating, right,
-
and God's way of you think he esscentially trying to say that God speaks
-
right, have a slight that says God speaks. Aren't we glad that God
-
speaks? Right? But of course when I say speak, it's not like
-
how the instructions typically when you hear the audible voice. If you can hear
-
audible voice, good on you eyes have not before but it. But you
-
know today he is He's still speaking to us right through different different u different
-
modes. I would say, but you know, even as we read the
-
Bible right, it's something of a historical record, but it is still speaking
-
to us till today if you think about it. Why because He is the
-
same yesterday, today and tomorrow. So whatever it is, if you need
-
encouragement, it will come true some form of speaking as well, if you
-
need direction, even correction. Like what I've said earlier, he still speaks
-
to you write through different forms, and sometimes when you are walking through uncharted
-
territory is when you hear more clearly. Actually still speaking to you, but
-
you'll probably hear more clearly, okay. So one of the main few ways
-
that he speaks to us is to two modes. Firstly, it's too scripture,
-
which is the Bible, right. Secondly, it's true what I call
-
a band of believers or spiritual community okay, or simplicitly putting it in the
-
church okay, or fellow believers of the same faith okay. So every time
-
you sit down and read the Bible, it's not just reading a static text
-
static texts okay. It's not something that is dead that some guy wrote many
-
many moons ago. And it's not relevant. Like I said, he is
-
relevant, even the historical account is relevant. But in that moment when you
-
go into certain things, right, somehow is very relevant. Right, it's
-
clear cut. How many times how many of you actually experienced that before when
-
you're going through certain situations the words that really jump out at you when you
-
read Okay, okay, it's not just Mia, it's not just Mia.
-
Okay, googlegle all right. So the present direction or the whatever you need,
-
it's amazing. You know how God can speak true us through a book,
-
right through a book. So it's filled with promises for you, true
-
scripture. That's one way God speaks to you. Okay, very clear cut,
-
Now elaborate too much. The second part is true what we call the
-
Church of Spiritual Community. Okay, why do we say that? It is
-
because you know, they have people, you know, who are journeying with
-
you, understand your situation, prayer alongside you, encourage you, build you
-
up as well. Right, and these quote unquote mouth or fellow believers.
-
Uh, it's found within your you know, a typical church setup, whether
-
it's a small church or large church. I think more or less the structure
-
quote unquote structure in terms of what we call disciples. Structure is there to
-
ensure that everybody has the same amazing experience to hear God through your people.
-
And that's why sometimes when we say, you know, if you want some
-
prayer support, come and talk to leaders. Your prayer view not just necessary
-
just to alto call, but in other times as well. And that's why
-
we always say that you need to be part of a community. Right,
-
And sometimes it's true messages, right uh and and and I mean I've been
-
around in church for quite some time that sometimes I would have this mentality that
-
I've heard it all. Well, it's so braver I've heard. I mean,
-
you know what I mean, Okay, you use okay sort of nowhere
-
it is hitting kind of thing. But sometimes there's a bit of humility that
-
needs come by because there are times as right, as simple as the message
-
may be, there's still something that blesses you. Or even if it doesn't
-
bless you that then then then I've reaffected a few times, right that Hey
-
it's a delayed kind of like, oh yeah, that is issue for me
-
four weeks later. Right. So one trying to say is that I encourage
-
you right to allow God to speak to you. And how do you do
-
that is, firstly, just come to church, because again, if you're
-
good at reading and own that's fine, fantastic, but sometimes again God speaks
-
through this mode as well through his people. And again not talking about just
-
the people at the pupet, is everybody else, okay, even fellow quote
-
unquote peers, non leaders, okay, because we're all there to to encourage
-
you. And there's always a custom word for you, a custom message for
-
you, a custom uh how to put it, a promise for you as
-
well, true God's word. Because we believe that this is the power of
-
how people can be utilized even in workplaces. I would say, you know,
-
hang around some fellow believers as well. Okay, So what am I
-
saying all this is that we should aspire to the next ten to at least
-
not just come more regulated to church. That's only one aspect. Even other
-
aspects like for example, we talked about small groups homes is what we call
-
it here. It's opportunity again for God to speak to you true his people.
-
Prayer services, yes, I know, it's prayer service again. Again,
-
God can speak to you like what sh earlier, He can speak to
-
you true his people. Right, So if you want to hear from God,
-
here is promises. That is also another avenue he speaks to you.
-
If you have a direct line with God, fine call him. You'll talk
-
to you directly. But sometimes it's true as people. So every time you
-
go on with life, true godly people, God speaks okay and workers.
-
So if you never receive a prophetic word before, maybe again you're not hung
-
out with the right people. So sola to an extent, no, no,
-
no, but jokes aside, yes, And that's why something people they
-
will chase certain speakers, right or this guy moves in this particular gift and
-
then I want to hear that prophecy. And again nothing wrong with that,
-
but you know there is a system that helps or allows God to speak as
-
well. Now why am I stressing this before I carry on too much?
-
Is sometimes you know when we o guess you see example, when we buy
-
something online, you know we expect a certain mode of delivery comes through a
-
certain channel. Right, if you do not wait at the right spot or
-
the right address to the extent, how else will you receive that package if
-
you don't have someone talking about I'm talking about the package is the promise of
-
God. Right, if you do not wait at the right place or the
-
right people, some times you may miss it. Because you're wondering why the
-
shop we can not hit my parcel. God's words are because maybe because you're
-
not amongst company believers as well. Okay, I'm not gonna go too much
-
more than that. Hopefully you get the idea. So don't cut off God's
-
people, especially when you are going through different things in life, because God
-
can speak to you. Like I say, God speaks. He speaks to
-
two modes primarily. Okay, so far, okay, So God speaks,
-
that's the first thing. Second thing is and he speaks to you, what
-
do you do? Listen? Okay? Good years are the last message.
-
She wasn't going there. Yeah, so speaks and then you listen, right,
-
but what do you do beyond that? It's all good? Right.
-
We love the idea that God speaks to us. We love it. And
-
his promises a shure and he gives you a promise. We love it,
-
absolutely love it. And there's a custom made message or a custom made prophecy.
-
It's only specific to you. Wow, I love it. But what
-
do you do with it when you hear it? Okay, we talked about
-
obedience acting on it, but even before then, let's just skip all that
-
as well. What if it's not relevant, then then what do you do?
-
Shelve it or just listen? Not for me. I'll come back next
-
day hopefully get something right. So what I'm trying to say is that they
-
put up the slight there next light. Oh, it's a sure responsibility to
-
be what we call stewards. Okay, wait for it until a fulfillment and
-
promise. I explained a bit more in a while. You know we sung
-
about power, right, there's actually power in all God's promises. We sometimes
-
forget how powerful that promise is because one we forgot the promise, and then
-
sometimes we forget that we are Actually our job is to continue to uh deposit
-
the thing that the stewards of it, and then until it comes to fruition
-
or comes into full fulfillment. Okay, because why God's promise will not be
-
broken. God's promise is his promise. That's why I started off earlier with
-
the pinky promise thing. I know it's a kind of a kiddy thing,
-
but you know how kids read expectations when you pinky promise about something like that.
-
Oh, you know, I promise him some entertainment whatever he's like,
-
he will come to you and demand that until it comes to fulfillment. They
-
know that. So if you are a child of God, right, God
-
pinky promised you something, you will come and pester God until the fulfillment.
-
Right, Am I not right? Or will you just say okay, loh,
-
God I hear you whenever? No, right, you would want to
-
see the fruition. You want to come to see the ultimate fullness. So
-
remember this thing spoken over you in the past when you were young. Maybe
-
you've forgotten it. I'll share some experiences later. Maybe God has spoken into
-
your marriage and you've forgotten about it. Maybe it's you know, a particular
-
idea of a business in the past, that God has given you a dream
-
to do something, and you've forgotten it. Again. You may forget,
-
but God will forget I know, okay, but sometimes we walk away because
-
we have forgetful. Right. So our job, like as mentioned earlier,
-
is to be Stuart's. You've got to see it true, You've got to
-
see it fruition. So what is stewarding. Let me just quickly explain through
-
the dictionary. It's actually what we call active nurturing of something, your steward
-
or something steward of a child. Steward of some finances. Steward of God's
-
promise is really nurturing that promise. First thing, you remember FIRS law.
-
You can't remember, then, what's the point? Right? And then of
-
course in the godly context, we've got to trust God remember, and then
-
trust that it would be made will come to fruition because it's a choice.
-
Right If you do not do that, what will happen? Would the promise
-
die? Probably not? But you will not quote unquote unlock its maximal potential.
-
Okay, but I can guarantee you that if you do not do steward
-
it, the power that is locked within that particular promise will not be unveiled.
-
Okay, So you got to do what your taught task to do,
-
which is to be steward of his promise. So far, let me come
-
back to the text, so I won't lose you too much. So,
-
Elisha, he was angry right right earlier because the king, the king that
-
we read about, did not recognized the power and the promise and therefore carelessly
-
didn't do what his task to do against simple instructions opened the window do the
-
three arrows thing? Right, he just did treat sorry, did do the
-
five or six times. He just did three times, and therefore he didn't
-
come to fusion. Now again, then gives some additional background before they stay,
-
why was he furious? Okay? Now, if you know the story
-
of Elijah, just give you a bit of background. He is the apprentice
-
of Elijah. Okay, So if you watch Star Wars, this is like
-
the Jedi master under study. Who is it called Jedi? Jedi is a
-
peda one? Correct? Thank you forgot the most famous Sorry the fanboy of
-
Star Wars. He said the back there consulted him before. Yeah, so
-
the pedal one. Elijah really looked up to his master, and he actually
-
prayed that prayer. If you look at the scriptures, he wanted double portion
-
of anointing or what Elijah had. Now, if you're like me, I'm
-
I'm engineers, So I like numbers. Okay. The number of miracles that
-
were promised or that were fulfilled for Elijah is fourteen one four Okay for Elijah.
-
If if you do it math right, double that? What is that?
-
Try eight? Okay? Now, if you look through the books right
-
at that point in time, right before his death, he had number twenty
-
seven miracles happened to him. So it's one shot before his death, so
-
he must understand how angry he was, you know, how furious he must
-
be because he cannot fulfill the thing in his lifetime aspirations are okay, So
-
it's really really mad that this guy didn't follow my instruction and because of that
-
technicality, I wouldn't see my twenty eight Okay, yeah, right, cool,
-
that's the that's the background. So he was really angry because he saw
-
the power in the world, but it wasn't completely walked and fulfilled before his
-
death, okay, and therefore the promises from God wasn't completely fulfilled at that
-
point in time at least. Okay. Of course, when we read a
-
bit further, okay, you also understand that the promise was fulfilled by in
-
a different manner. Okay. And it's very interesting, okay, because why,
-
just as I mentioned to you, they carelessly throwed another body there and
-
then there was a resurrection recorded Okay, and in fact, right, the
-
miracle that happened there was more powerful than any miracle he has done in his
-
lifetime. You think about it. So even in his death, right,
-
he fulfilled the twenty eight powerful right, fulfilled the twenty eight and even more
-
powerful that he could ever imagine himself. Okay, So what am I trying
-
to say is that next slide, God's sorry. One more behind God's promises
-
never die, never ever die. We as I mentioned earlier, we may
-
have forgotten his promise sometimes, but God doesn't forget his promises to us.
-
So you got to remember this. There's no such thing as God's from his
-
diarrhina. It's just that sometimes we just do not complete fulfill it because of
-
the different circumstances that hinderous. For example, oh I'm not it's not for
-
me. I'm too old for this, you know, those kind of barriers,
-
et cetera. Or there must be a mistake, maybe it's for somebody
-
else, and therefore I do not fully obey. But you must understand this.
-
Even in Elisha's death right, the twenty eight miracle came about, and
-
as I mentioned earlier, the promise was even sorry. The miracle was even
-
more powerful than when he had lived. Then we had breath in his lungs.
-
Okay, So next slide, there is still still power the promise,
-
even if it looks dead. Okay, perceive bones there not so many bones
-
lie just probably had one one set of bones, and but it's not like
-
the value of the dry bones thing. But you get the idea. Anything
-
is completely dead, completely dry, if you understand malay ring, you know,
-
totally dry, right, not nothing much can really live there, you
-
know. Right. But God's promises still remain. So we need to recognize,
-
recognize, recognize God's promises, his words that were for you, that
-
were deposited for you. You need to ah take it on and utilize it
-
even in when the situation does not. Of course, conditions may not be
-
quite right at the point in time. So if God calls you to go,
-
uh, you know, go back to school. My wife still aspires
-
to be a nurse, still are nurse, so and one time she was
-
talking about going to nursing school. Yeah, and never to over there.
-
You know, if God calls you to go for it all right, and
-
yeah, not too long, you know to if if you ever God tells
-
you to do something and a promise it's there for you. I wouldn't say
-
that, I don't matter. It's a promise from godlah. But you get
-
the idea, if no matter how the restitution that you're in, right,
-
if God gives you a promise he will fulfill it, even though it may
-
seem red, dire, or the stars may not quite a ligne. Okay.
-
So the bottom line is God is able. As we've learned last year.
-
The whole lass is saying that God is able to turn things around no
-
matter what, right, no matter what. So do not make excuses.
-
If you make excuses, right, it's like actually inscribing on the the like
-
a like a like a tombstone of the death of that particular you know,
-
you say canot die, right, but let's say death of that particular dream.
-
Right. It's because you inscribed it yourself. Because God can actually make
-
it happen. But you are the one that is the barrier from that particular
-
dream of being fulfilled. Okay, So no matter how bad the situation is,
-
believe that God can do it. God is able to find a good
-
in it, all right? Why because his promises, yes and amen,
-
his promises you know, has to be fulfilled. He's the Alpha and Omega.
-
He's seen it all right. He is also a finisher. He started
-
something, he will make sure it finishes. Whether you're on board with it
-
in the program is a different story altogether. Okay, So make sure we
-
are on board so that we stay faithful and see it too completion as how
-
he intended it. Okay, all right, So there's power in the bones,
-
all right, there's power in the tu lang all right. So I
-
want to encourage everybody today. Really it's a very simple message. Really,
-
is that you have the power to do it. So if you really still
-
believe. Just now, we sung about God's power in his name, right,
-
this is the same power that we're talking about that He's not done with
-
you yet, the promises that he has given you. Even though you may
-
have forgotten it, it's still can be activated, reactivated if you continue to
-
pursue it and steward it. Okay, So they can leash God's power into
-
your life. Okay. So ah, so I mentioned earlier, remember your
-
responsibility as how you need to stewart God's promise until fulfillment. So how do
-
we actually then steward God's not the namer the action. Stewart God's promise or
-
his prophetic word for you or his dream for you until it becomes a reality.
-
Okay, very simple, Okay, just three simple steps. I asked
-
my wife to help me this because I'm very bad with trying to find words.
-
Actually had some words loud, but first one was actually first I asked
-
ask God to remind you? So boring right then she she did. She
-
helped me spin the words a bit to say solicit, Yeah, towards solicit
-
sounds a bit sometimes a bit negative rights words. I want to s words,
-
okay, to to to to explain because it's Stewart, I have four
-
s three sys for you s s. It's not not the backside but the
-
letter. Okay, all right, so ess okay, So firstly to solicit,
-
which means that you need to ask God. Now why do I mean
-
ask God to remind you? It's because I don't know about you, guys,
-
but I am very hopeless with memorizing stuff, or rather I choose to
-
memory stuff that is maybe not so useful sometimes. Okay, uh, I
-
remember songs of lyrics that you know a proper like twenty thirty years ago as
-
a teen shows my age till today again still seeing those lyrics. Use of
-
stuff, right, but it's still there. But I sometimes struggle to remember
-
which day Zachary has to wear it's a Pe uniform for example, to today,
-
even though it's a weekly cycle and it's like that, right. Sometimes
-
it's a very selective memory. Right. I can tell you some f one
-
stats. Oh that's Jester f one stats that happened in the last race because
-
something that's dear to me. I don't know why, but I can't remember
-
my dad's birthday sometimes, even though it's very simple fourth of May, because
-
it's like the Star Wars thing. But previously I had to find a formula
-
to remember. What I'm trying to say is that that's again, why why
-
is that so? Why do we struggle that? So? If it's true
-
in the physical, right, sometimes it's so true in the spiritual as well,
-
that we forget God's promises because we maybe do not like to remember it
-
so much, maybe because we mess up a little bit during the process,
-
or maybe it makes some mistakes trying to fulfill that promise, and therefore we
-
don't want to you want to shelve it, okay, but we ought to
-
remember. We need to remember because he hasn't come to fulfillment. So again,
-
if you didn't catch that earlier, is your responsible? Is your responsiblity?
-
Remember? But how you are to do it? Just ask him?
-
Law? Why ask him? Because one he hasn't forgotten it. And two
-
he's also good at noting things down before I go there. Right, I
-
want to quickly share with you when I was younger, there was some visiting
-
minister who came and then he spoke over my life. I was a teen.
-
You know, teen sometimes you don't take things too seriously. I can
-
still remember very clearly that particular event where he spoke something along the lines that
-
you know, I see you have the ability to speak healing into certain situations
-
as a team. You're like that man. Right, So I shelved it
-
la as usual. And then that similar kind of prophecy came again as I
-
was older, when I was a campus student, and again I sheltered it
-
that because it's not for me. If you know me any better, I'm
-
I'm intro. You know, I really don't like to see the people in
-
general when I can. Okay, it's a false behavior, But I want
-
to share with you today that there was a particular event, not event,
-
I say event, I bummed into somebody in the in the hospital Sunway Medical.
-
I wouldn't mention names because I don't want to mention names here, but
-
this person used to attend the evening service when we were on Saturday, okay,
-
and the person again bumping the person. I was having some medical checks
-
on my own or some other things, and and I know that person's undergoing
-
some treatment for cancer. And then for some reason at that point in time,
-
I felt like God is calling me to pray for the person. Reluctantly,
-
I pray for that person. Okay, long story shot. The person
-
is come from cancer today. And then it makes you remember some of the
-
things that were shelved from the teens campus days. Again, I'm not moving
-
in that kind of ministry because again I maybe I'm not confident in that sense.
-
But what I'm trying to say is that God has reminded me, even
-
when I've forgotten it, that the fulfillment can happen, even though I've forgotten
-
it for many many years since things. I'm quite old now, by the
-
way. So again, God's promises will never change. You just got to
-
bring it out again. Okay, And it's amazing, Like I said,
-
true testimony. Ah, the person is here till today. The person he's
-
serving another another planet at the moment, but the persons here. Okay.
-
So God's promises, if he promises you you'll come to fruition, all right,
-
But what do we need to do? I mentioned earlier, asked God?
-
Right, that's one thing. Why do we ask God? Of course,
-
if you read Malachi, every time I read Malachi right, always bring
-
it was always the worse about you know, tithing and all that. This
-
is several lines below the tithing verse okay, three sixteen okays is in n
-
IV. Then those who feared the Lord talk with each other, and the
-
Lord listened and heard a scroll of remembrance. Okay. Some variations use the
-
word book of remembrance. Okay. What was written in his in his presence
-
concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name? Okay? So this
-
is evidence that the Lord, our God keeps a lot book, a ledger,
-
a scroll with your name on it whenever a promise is issued. Okay.
-
So if you need to find it or dig to the archive for it's
-
better to go to him and ask him, right, because why he keeps
-
a record of it? Okay. Side track a bitter just to say some
-
funny stories. Recently, my boy right the other son, see Zach,
-
I promise you I'll be fair esher last week went to school without school back.
-
Okay, we constantly remind him to to to you know, have a
-
mental note, et cetera. To the point we say that please not just
-
make a mental note, but make a note write it down as well.
-
But the joker still forgot to bring his back to school. He went to
-
school without his bag. We need to realize for the arrival. Okay,
-
now why am I try and say here is that? Yeah? You ask
-
is one thing? You record it is one thing? Yeah, sorry,
-
you asked one thing. But then you need to record it down as well.
-
Okay, write it down. I usually remember last time, right,
-
I will write notes on my hand and all everything from the era where you
-
write things on your hand. Maybe it's just me back when there's no tablets,
-
phones, et cetera, reminders or whatever we used to write things.
-
Because why we just want to make sure if you need to bring this to
-
school, you ready to bring this to school. But sometimes we do not.
-
And again God's promises as well, right we ask Sometimes we do not
-
write it down, we do not deposit it. We did not take it,
-
and then what more if you have forgotten it? Right, you're right,
-
if you can write down, you should write down as well. Now
-
promises has a few categories. Promises that are intended to be uh fulfilled,
-
oh sorry, given to you and fulfilled they want is clear cut. Some
-
promises are given to you but not fulfilled it. So this is the one
-
I encourage you to write down first, because the fresh ones you need to
-
record it down because sometimes it may not be an instant kind of thing that
-
happened straight away. Okay. So because he's recorded everything, like I mentioned
-
to you, you are to ask him okay, because he will definitely have
-
the clearest and the most accurate record of it because in his word he says
-
he's recorded it. Right. So every time you go to God in prayer
-
or when you speak to him, don't just go there and sometimes just verbal
-
direct everything to God. This is my wishless God, give me this,
-
give me that. And sometimes our prayers are like that. We are it's
-
all about petitions. Allow God to speak to you as well. Allow God
-
to remind you as well some of the promises as well. In that process,
-
I think it's where we go with God with a blank page kind of
-
a thing, and sometimes it can be quite powerful. Then only this will
-
allow him to really talk to you without too much. Things already on your
-
agenda list. Okay, allow God to say so, would you open up
-
again to the Lord to speak to you. It is probably one of the
-
things when you ask him of something, Okay, when you're asking about your
-
season, about the calling that has given you, he's reminding you again the
-
promises that he's made before. Let him speak to you, right. And
-
when he speaks to you, as I mentioned, like my kid today,
-
Right, we got a white board Monday Tuesday and say what to bring.
-
He has to do it literally a checklist and so far, so good,
-
right, Zach, He's not forgotten to bring his back to school. Only
-
been three days last okay, so hopefully hopefully that works. Okay, But
-
write it down. If God feels important, write it down in his ledger.
-
What more us, Like I said, unless you've got super brain powers
-
that has memory, and there's people like that that can remember things from to
-
the second you read, you're going to look at some of the documentaries.
-
But I'm not like that. So write it down, write it down,
-
and bring not whenever it's important or when it's commuted lies. Okay. Hypercook
-
two says this, write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets.
-
I'm quite sure tablets is not iPad's, Okay, in that time, maybe
-
it is, I'm not sure. Okay, So that a herald if you
-
click on that, that a there, it says, or so that whoever
-
reads it may run with it. Okay. For the revelation that waits and
-
appointed time. It speaks of the end, and it will not prove to
-
be proof false. Though it lingers wait for it, it will certainly come
-
and will not delay. Now this is the NIV version. I've given another
-
version as well. The messages. I think it is more contemporary, more
-
relevant, and I love this part. Okay. It says, write this,
-
write what you see, literally, write it out in big block letters,
-
okay for people like Mila, maybe the lo Fi generation. Now you
-
can't read, so write it in bold, okay, so that it can
-
be read on the run. That means, and you're running right, you
-
can still read it because it's big staring at you. This vision message or
-
other in the attraction revelation is a witness pointing to what's coming. It aches
-
for the coming. It can hardly wait. The misses coming already, It's
-
coming already. It's going to write it down and remind yourself again, is
-
coming. It doesn't lie if it seems slow in coming, wait, it's
-
on its way. It will come on there in his timing. Okay,
-
So this is exactly part of stewarding, as you mentioned, is actually securing
-
God's word. Take it, ask for it, take it, deposit it,
-
write it down. Also, you know, reflect on it as well.
-
Don't just shelve it and not look at it unless of course fulfilled.
-
I fulfil like I sure check the DEA and then I've got my school back
-
ed day, Fine, move on to something else, all right, So
-
do that just sidetrack a bit now, just like how that listed checklist that
-
you mentioned. Right, Sometimes we ask on new promises, right, and
-
if you understand things that are unfulfilled? Right, If I'm a manager,
-
right, if you haven't done tasks one to three, I wouldn't be so
-
mean to give you task for five six, right? Why person you finish
-
one to three before four five six? Right? But we keep going back
-
to God sometimes asking for more promises. But have you ever taken stock of
-
some of the unfulfilled promises? Because we haven't quite spend the time to be
-
stewards of it. To see to completion. So this is again just something
-
to encourage you. And that's why we need to take stock, take all
-
the time to make sure that whatever that's undone, sorry if it's not completed
-
yet, needs to be completed before the next thing. Okay, finish what
-
you have on your plate first, finish your veggies. I don't know it's
-
kidding, but you have the idea. Finish what you have to do first.
-
So as you go repeatedly and you open the Bible, as he will
-
let you know, remember that promise. Write it down, leave it as
-
a note in your bible, because when you open it, this is the
-
first thing you see. Last time, I used to put versus on my
-
on my on my desk, some sticky notes last time when they's or paper
-
based old school, right, remind us of things his promises is versus.
-
Uh. Nowadays we've got phones save you as a wall paper or what you
-
called lot screen. Even if it's so important, you should see it so
-
you can meditate on it as well, so you will not forget right.
-
So there are ways, there are ways to increase your chances of seeing it
-
reality literally, so write it down. Second thing, ah, my original
-
thing is to remain steadfast. But uh, this supplication is forced in there
-
because it's prayers application. Okay, but really you need to reclaim it with
-
prayer. Okay, reclaim it. Now. Why do I say this is
-
because if you look at the scripture that I read earlier, right, it
-
says that a band of raiders came, right, raiders, you know,
-
not not like uh not like Jedi knights, not not officers, not generals,
-
not soldiers of that sort. It's just you know what raiders are,
-
right, They're basically a band of thieves roberts. Okay, they came.
-
And what do raiders do normally? They come stealer, That's what they do.
-
Okay, that's what they do. They steal. What do they steal?
-
What do people normally steal? Yeah, treasures, things that are valuable.
-
Right, they will steal something that is not of value logically right.
-
So now they can't steal the promise of God for sure, But what can
-
they steal? Think about it? The power that is inherent in that promise
-
can be stolen from you if you do not, you are not careful about
-
it. Okay, So do not allow them to creep in. The Devil
-
is the number one agent Agent one decide is here to steal, kill,
-
and destroy, steal right right because why you think about it, when Jesus
-
died on the cross, right, he's already done it all, so he
-
cannot lose that portion of that promise that he has for you. But the
-
devil can still come and steal certain things from you, your freedom, so
-
he cannot steal that promise. But he can because as I mentioned earlier,
-
God's promises promise to you will never die, but he can rob its power
-
or take a portion of the power away, so you do not unlock its
-
maximum potential. Okay, so you're not maximized. So in short, in
-
short, you're short changing your promise. It's another way to put it,
-
or short changing God's promise for you because you are not careful or of the
-
raiders coming true, because that's what they intend to do. They will steal
-
your faith away. Now how they do that, We cover a little bit
-
about it in the last one. We talk about some mismatched expectations or disappointments.
-
You know, going I'll just cover a little bit. So for example,
-
God shows your promise, you think that this is how God is going
-
to fulfill that promise, and it's not going to accoint to your plan or
-
what you perceive the plan should be, right. I love it how just
-
now revemen worshiping right, things just suddenly go a free flow in a sense,
-
not according to plan. I don't think. Maybe you plan, I'm
-
not sure, love, but maybe not like they didn't seem plan. Okay,
-
say he didn't plan it, but that's exactly what it is. Sometimes
-
when we go off the course, right, maybe God intended it also,
-
But it's totally okay to destinely to the same the promise to the same.
-
Go and look at that message before. I can't I can't pet too much
-
on this, But what I'm trying to say is that just because of misguided
-
or mismanaged expectations, it doesn't mean the promise wi to not be fulfilled.
-
Allow God to turn things around a little bit. It's okay, because why
-
the finishing line of the end product is still the same. So that's what
-
we need to set our eyes on. So don't be disappointed regard Alan whenever
-
things do not go according to plan according to your plan, at least allow
-
God to move. Now I'm going to read the scripture Galician six' nine
-
New King James. Here, it says, and let us not grow weary
-
while doing good. Okay, don't don't grow tired. Okay, for in
-
due season, in his timing, okay, we shall reap, if not,
-
if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity,
-
let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household
-
of faith. Now, let me just quickly focus you on a few things
-
due season mean to say in his timing. The second thing I wanted to
-
focus on is that we shall reap mean to say, it's a guaranteed promise.
-
Okay, you are guaranteed the harvest, whatever the harvest may be,
-
the harvest of that promise will happen. Is just timing. So don't be
-
disappointed too quickly and then shelf the promise. Okay. So that's that's what
-
the enemy or the thief is coming in, all the raiders coming to try
-
to slip through from you, because they're using disappointment or mismatched expectations to derail
-
you. Now, second thing in this same vein is that sometimes the promises
-
again happens a bit differently. Uh and and and and because of that is
-
a mismatch of what you intend to do either in the positive. And let
-
me explain, Sometimes you feel that you are not it's not for you iven
-
this. I always feel like this is not for Mela. I don't feel
-
that I'm the right person to do this. That's the negative sensor where you
-
feel that you are insufficient. Now, sometimes it's the underne of spectrum because
-
of experiences. Well, last time we talk about experiences, or I've done
-
this at work, so therefore apply it here as well. That kind of
-
uh, what we call pride can also be harmful, right, the self
-
centeredness. It's something not in that I want things my way back, it's
-
that I think I can do this. The eye comes in more than what
-
God wants that I So you gotta be very careful about that because that sort
-
of to the next time will disqualify you from that promise because there's no humility
-
there. Okay, so you're very careful about this as well. So you
-
are also almost saying that God you need me to make this work, and
-
you don't want to be doing that because it's you're very scary thing to do.
-
Right, So that is the big problem. Then, So one point
-
I say is that regardless of your character, regardless of your background, regardless
-
of your lack, your belief, your strengths, even look to God,
-
he will fulfill it. It's not dependent on you, It's dependent on Him.
-
Okay, so that's the thing about self centeredness. Next one is doubt.
-
Again I covered out before, these are the circumstances, things that do
-
not look right, or you know, maybe I came and prayed about certain
-
things over and over against somehow the circumstances are not quite aligned. Ah,
-
I'll share this story. Many of you remember joking that used to be part
-
of this community. I still remember one day we were just sharing this thing.
-
He's been ministering to a particular person for quite some time faithfully, and
-
then there's one day I think I can't remember what. I think it's a
-
homes or something like that. I decided I felt led to pray for the
-
person, and then the person except Christ. Then then so the work that
-
he's done, right, I go and finish off with the work. You
-
know, there's an extent right. And now if you come with that self
-
centeredness or that kind of a perspective, because how come I'm doing things right?
-
But somehow I don't get the outcome that I want. Of course,
-
we know it's a collective effort lat right, so it should always be like
-
that. But sometimes you doubt so because you may be speaking the stitution over
-
and over again, praying of a stitution over and over again, but somehow
-
you do not see the fruits instantly and immediately. What did you do after
-
that? Continue to pray, continue to speak life into it, right,
-
rather than so maybe it's not enough. Start praying in the morning as you
-
drive to work, in the afternoon, during lunchtime, at night, before
-
you sleep, when you walk the dog, Ray kidding, when you go
-
to the gym. Also, Ray, I'm kidding. No, no,
-
he started a person training thing. I have embarrassing so much. But yeah,
-
just continue praying, pray over it until the situation comes to fruition,
-
right, Do not just focus on the circumstances of the product, really focus
-
and not let doubt creep in. Again, look at some of the things
-
that we mentioned earlier, But these are the dangers that I just quickly mentioned
-
about not utilizing prayer. And you need to use prayer to ensure combine prayer
-
the power and the power of faith. This promise will come to fruition.
-
Okay, last point, ah initial I puts still persisting. Then my wife
-
used the word stubborn, which I think is vettela stubborn in the good Wayla
-
stubbornness stubborn, because you want to persist until you receive it. Remember it's
-
about you doing it until it comes to fruition. Don't give up so easily.
-
Remember Elijha told the king to do the arrows thing, right, he
-
just did three shot off another two or three more. The last story that
-
we've learned in the when I came and spoke about the dipping. Remember also
-
short, I mean if he didn't fulfill the thing, he wouldn't see that
-
the miracle happen. So really persist to receive it. Okay, you're never
-
going to arrive at that promise, right if you are just fueled by just
-
emotions. Sometimes it takes a little bit more than that. Pay for revivals
-
so that I can do this. No, no, no, you gotta
-
push on. You gotta be stubborn, stubborn and see it happen. Now.
-
For those of you who know sports, badminton I think is a squash
-
of badminton nowadays recently be one goal in scuoash Yeah, you know Relashia bullet.
-
But you think about it. If I think the person was like sort
-
of lost the first set, right I think? So I can't I didn't
-
watch Maybe not okay? Maybe can I say? Badminton? Okay? If
-
you lose the first set? Okay, what will happened to your coach?
-
What will your coach tell you? Normally? Uh, give me sixty percent.
-
I think you should be okay, I think you should be in the
-
second set sixty percent. So you need because you lost the first Saturday six
-
percent? So you need Will a coach come like this and talk to you
-
like this? Probably not right the coach's sake. Give one hundred percent,
-
if not one hundred and ten percent, if you can, because you need
-
to push, persist, persist, not persist in the physical, persist in
-
the spiritual. Now what does it mean persist in the spiritual? This is
-
very excited that faith ability to stay in faith? Okay, now, but
-
but how do you persist in faith? Okay? Let me just unpack that
-
a little bit. Uh. You know, we are three right body,
-
soul, mind, you know, emotions, that's the mind part. Right,
-
we are three right body soul and spirit. So I've used this to
-
illustrate how we can subdivide it, okay, to stand in faith. Now
-
what do you do? Okay? The first one in the context of how
-
we can utilize worship. Okay, worship keeps our spirit in faith. Just
-
now, right when we sung, it's not just mere three set songs,
-
a charaokey kind of thing. No, is nothing like that. These are
-
really focused on set expectations right before God. And that's why sometimes you see,
-
right, people get healed during the worship portions or not the word.
-
The word is just one aspect of it, right, Why because this is
-
how worship can step in and change or build that spirit of faith. Because
-
again we are a spirit portion as well. Right, So when you worship
-
God, worship him for all he's done with a heart of gratitude, right,
-
or sometimes for even what he's yet to do. And that's what we
-
call setting expectations right in the spirit form. Okay, So you got to
-
do that. Just now, we're saying, speak the name of Jesus in
-
every situation. Do exactly that, And that's how you ensure that in the
-
worship and sorry, in the spirit portion, you remain stubborn, and you
-
persist till you receive it. Amen. Amen, thank you God, an
-
advanced Lord, for what you're going to do for me. I believe in
-
that the promise. I still hold onto it. I keep my spirits right,
-
I keep my heart right, Answers coming true, worship, worship every
-
single time. Second thing is to do with the mind. Now, the
-
mind is a very interesting thing. Sometimes we say we can control what we
-
think, and so sometimes we say we slow things down, we write things
-
down, or even control got your tongue what you say? Ah, But
-
you know, sometimes our emotions or the things we say is an expression of
-
what's up there. Uh, this is where most of us lose it.
-
I was sharing you that that story about Zach. I also lost it a
-
little bit in terms of when just the person looking at what I advise him
-
to do, I said things that he could applay some common sense love.
-
Bro, Yeah, I realize if the thing that step better, I'm like,
-
she's not very nice thing to say as well, right, because it's
-
a kid. Right. But now your mouth sometimes move with the emotions because
-
then now I'm like, right, and this is where sometimes you say guard
-
your tongue. But guarding your tongue. It's only one aspect. There's a
-
passive portion of it, la, Right, don't say bad things. We
-
don't want to say bad things. It's a neutral approach, but I want
-
to encourage you. Right, instead of just doing the neutral, go push
-
on forward and speak life into it. Okay, So do the positive as
-
well, rather than just keep quiet. Because your mouth can kill something.
-
But I can so speak life into something. Okay, So use your mouth
-
correctly. Right, say things today. God, I believe you will heal
-
me. I declare it. And that's what we are. This year is
-
a year proclamation, right, It's a year of declaration, all right,
-
believing that God is going to do things through the opportunity it's given you.
-
I believe in this, Lord, You've see that, this in my heart.
-
For this business venture, Lord, I'm going to speak life into it.
-
I'm going to pray true speaking life. Thank you Lord. This is
-
going, this is going to come. This is going to come every day.
-
Do that, and that is one aspect of significantly helping steward God's promise
-
to fruition. And not only that. You know we're talking about a year
-
so that all may know, right, you proclaim right, definitely all may
-
know, so do not hold back because other people also need to see or
-
hear and experience His faithfulness through your declaration and through your proclamation. So yeah,
-
keep it up worship so that your spirit will be okay, proclaim and
-
declare so that your emotions are in checked, so you cover the mind portion
-
of it. So what's left two weeks ago or three weeks ago? Step
-
out the physical. You still need to keep doing what you're supposed to do.
-
And again it's just small steps. Don't think about big giant leaps.
-
You can't do the small, you can't do the big way ways say that
-
right, So whatever you can do, just just do it like last time
-
I said, and just do it because it's his promise, so keep on
-
doing it. It may just be getting your arm, getting your finances maybe
-
in checked instead of committing just to holidays. Maybe you've got to put something
-
in your heart for missions. Just have some financenary for missions. Get your
-
past already, not because of a holiday, Get your pass already so that
-
you can travel and do missions again. Is another way of looking at it,
-
and that's stepping forward the little things, not when oh they my leader
-
put me in the mission strip. Therefore any I no, no, no,
-
get things really small steps first, be really and prepared to move in
-
line with God's promise. Again, the promise to you is only you and
-
God is between you and God. We will know it. But do not
-
yell, do not do not, do not fight it, make small steps
-
towards it. Okay. So again uh, the last light to summarize everything,
-
and I'm almost done. Really, it's our responsibility to steward God's promise
-
until it becomes and this is fulfilled. How hmm. If you want to
-
include the first one as it is foss steward, solicit supplication and stubbornness to
-
persist, ask God to remind you of that promise, do not forget,
-
write it down for Heaven's sake, remain step fast right, hold on this
-
promise, reclaim it in prayer, speaking to it, and then perceive persists
-
till you receive it right. Very simple. But here's the thing. God
-
made a promise right. He wants to see it happen. It's up to
-
us to still remember there his power in it and make it happen. We
-
hope you've been blessed by this message for more information on our church, please
