  1. You're listening to a message to go from X Church.

  2. We hope this message will light up your day.

  3. How many chapters is the Book of XF, that's how Yeah,

  4. it's flipping already, twenty eight?

  5. How many say? Twenty eight? Twenty eight?

  6. All right, you're correct, but you're not correct. So the

  7. Book of X has tny age chapters. Yes, but I

  8. believe that the twenty nine chapter is being written right now, Okay,

  9. still being written in all of your lines, in all

  10. of your journeys. It's still being written. Is the gospel

  11. that's being propagated even because the Book of X started

  12. by getting you an outline, And what's the outline? The

  13. outline is that you shall be witnesses to me, which

  14. is Jesus in Jerusalem, which is covered from chapters two

  15. to chapter seven. So giving you a little bit of

  16. background of the Book of XX. Okay, So if you're

  17. interested to know more, how did the Gospel go from

  18. Jerusalem to Samria, to je to the ends of earth?

  19. How the Book of X shows you that? Amen.

  20. And then the Judea is captured in verse chapters eight

  21. to chapter nine, and then from chapter ten all the

  22. way to chapter twenty eight is to the ends of

  23. this earth. Okay, Okay, if you have a Bible and

  24. your Bible has a map, you can actually take a

  25. look at the back.

  26. My Bible has this map.

  27. Take a look.

  28. Yeah, I see.

  29. Yeah, when my Bible has this map that shows where,

  30. let me turn to it. Yeah. I don't know how

  31. you can see this, but you can turn to the

  32. end of the Bible and then you can see Jesus' ministry.

  33. I believe if you have the Thomas Nelson version, it

  34. should be the same. Okay, so you can see Jerusalem.

  35. Today's the Mayor and the ends of this earth.

  36. Okay.

  37. So today we're going to focus on a specific chapter.

  38. I was praying, God, what do I preach on? Because

  39. the Bull of X it's not an easy book to

  40. preach from. Okay, it's not easy, but it's full of wisdom,

  41. is full of word. That is really you need to

  42. study it.

  43. Okay. So I was praying and then God told me who.

  44. God spoke to me.

  45. He said, uh, you're very chung hey, so you preach

  46. from the most chung chung book in the chapter in

  47. the Book of Axla and the Book of X. Who

  48. knows who's the which is the longest chapter in the

  49. world X anybody knows Okay, twenty nine still being written.

  50. The Book of X, Chapter seven is actually the longest chapter.

  51. It has sixty verses. I don't know how many of

  52. you is able to read it in one sitting. It's

  53. a very very power pack. But you you, as you

  54. follow me today, you'll find out why why it's actually

  55. sixty verses long.

  56. Okay.

  57. But before that, the person I'm going to be preaching on,

  58. or sharing about, or learning from, we're going to draw

  59. out from a specific character. And to me, this character

  60. is one of the most I would say. People know him,

  61. people know him for what happened to him, but people

  62. may not understand that he held a very vital role

  63. in the Gospel, very vital. When you think gospel, you

  64. think Paul, you think Gospel, you think Matthew, Mark, Luke John.

  65. When you think gospel, you think Peter, you think the Disciples.

  66. But very often you will forget that there's this character

  67. named Stephen. Okay, people, when say Stephen Okay, by the way,

  68. many people call him Stephan or Stephen Curry, I shall

  69. call him Stephen Okay, so that I can pronounce and

  70. articulate his name properly. Okay, So Stephen, Stephen is a deacon. Now,

  71. he did not start off as a deacon, all right.

  72. He is part of this group of people called the Hellenists.

  73. Not from Hell. Okay, it's just a group of people

  74. Helen his Jews that has a little.

  75. Bit of Greek background. Okay, Now turn your bibles.

  76. They made the chapter six and we're gonna read from

  77. X chapter six. Now, in those days, when a number

  78. of disciples were multiplying, there arose a complain against the

  79. Hebrews by the Hellenis because their widows were neglected in

  80. the daily distribution.

  81. So it was a problem of women. Right.

  82. Women was coming around arising and they were saying like, hey,

  83. you are not giving me my fair equal share of

  84. my daily distribution. Right, you got to divine equally. And

  85. I tell you what, it's not that the Hebrews intentionally

  86. did not give their allocation.

  87. Right.

  88. You have to understand that before this, the church grew, Right,

  89. the church grew from zero right to the twelve that

  90. they were, to the one hundred and plus that were

  91. in the Upper room. They received the Holy Spirit, they

  92. went to preach to Jerusalem, and the church grew the crew.

  93. The Bible says that daily people were saved and being added,

  94. mounting up to about three thousand, and we follow X

  95. you follow it, you will see that it grew from

  96. three thousand to five thousand, and it just continued to grow.

  97. And so you have to imagine this with me.

  98. In Jerusalem, there's a church that's five thousand large. Right,

  99. there's so many people in the church. Of course, they

  100. are bound to be problems, right, They're bound to be disagreements.

  101. So church friends, it's normal to have disagreement in church. Okay,

  102. Please do not store your pastor, please do not stone

  103. your leader. If your leader forget to shake your hand.

  104. Now.

  105. I make it a point to try to shake every

  106. one of your hand every Sunday.

  107. I try. I don't know.

  108. If I miss on any one of you, I'm sorry,

  109. but I try my very best. However, there was a

  110. problem that arose, right, daily distribution not being distributed.

  111. And then what happened, what happened after that?

  112. So the wisdom there was upon the disciples, the apostles.

  113. They came Peter and John, and led by Peter, because

  114. Peter was the leader of the disciples, and he said,

  115. all right, it's not desirable that you know, we should

  116. leave the world of God because that was their primary focus,

  117. imory function. Now many of us here today we think missions.

  118. We think we drop everything that we are doing and we're.

  119. Going to serve the loss.

  120. No, we have to remember that we have our responsibility

  121. in Jerusalem, we have our responsibility in our marketplace. We

  122. have our responsibility where we are to drop it and

  123. to go and do a good deed.

  124. We have to be careful. There are roles for that.

  125. Now, if God called you to go for missions, then

  126. that becomes your primary focus.

  127. Amen. So Peter and the.

  128. Disciples were like saying, no, it's not desirable right that

  129. we should leave the word of God and serve tables.

  130. They're not saying it's because they are not humble enough

  131. to serve tables. No, they are humble. They are full

  132. of wisdom for the Holy Spirit. But they understood and

  133. recognized the position the roles that we needed in the church.

  134. So what did they say? Therefore, Brethren, seek out from

  135. among you seven men of good reputation, full of the

  136. Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may a point over

  137. this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer

  138. and to the ministry of the word. Right, So they're

  139. not like a God problem and you solve yourself like

  140. we do nothing. No, they still continuously prayed, right, because

  141. prayer is important.

  142. Right.

  143. So the Hellenists, the girl Hels came together and chose

  144. seven that were, you know, as per the characteristics that

  145. were pointed out by the disciples, by the apostles. Now,

  146. so they came and they chose Stephen, a man full

  147. of faith and the Holy Spirit, Philip, Procorus, Nicourus, Timon Palmerus, Nicholas,

  148. and a proselyte from Antioch, a prosite from Antioch. Now,

  149. these were the seven they were chosen. Now in the Bible,

  150. the most mostly written on is you know, Stephen and Philip.

  151. The rest we may not really see them, but they

  152. still uphold these characteristics.

  153. Amen.

  154. So of course Peter and the disciples the horses, they

  155. laid hands on them, them and they anointed them. Now

  156. why am I bringing this up? Sometimes we feel that

  157. missions it's all about going to that place last thing

  158. we learn from. But I'm gonna say missions is cross cultural, right,

  159. Missions means cross cultural. Now, sometimes we may feel that, ah,

  160. missions is about doing the thing that can be celebrated.

  161. Everybody can see what I'm doing. Do you know that

  162. some of sometimes missions may not be seen and you

  163. may not even know that, or people may not even

  164. recognize that your effort makes a difference, even its washing plates.

  165. You know, I go all the way to Indonesia to

  166. wash plates. I go all the way to Indonesia to

  167. pain in the wall. I go all the way to

  168. Indonesia to serve food to the homeless. That's it, That's

  169. all I did. And sometimes we come back home saying like, ah,

  170. I didn't experience God. I didn't experience the fire of God.

  171. I'm not burning inside. But that is missions. You know,

  172. Stephen and the six were appointed to be conservants off

  173. the table, I mean the least any small little problem.

  174. Steve and who are you?

  175. Oh I didn't get my distribution, Steve, and we are

  176. You can imagine five thousand people crying out those seven

  177. people for daily daily needs. And I did not go

  178. to that firm my white wife show woman, So okay,

  179. can but guys are so guys. So you know, guys

  180. a bit, a bit, sometimes a bit.

  181. I'm a guy.

  182. So sometimes we don't go alright, we we don't say

  183. or you're too lazy.

  184. A problem. The problem, I don't care. But the woman, oh,

  185. they mean it right.

  186. So but the seven dicers that were chosen had to

  187. be full of the Holy Spirit, because you cannot simply

  188. say things and discount their need because they have needs.

  189. Everyone has needs. Everyone will created differently, and God created

  190. everyone differently.

  191. Amen.

  192. So Steven had to go through that, right. But here's

  193. where it gets interesting verse seven. Then the word of

  194. God spread and the number of disciples multiplied greatly in

  195. Jerusalem out of the obedience, the faith, the action of

  196. serving tables, the word of God spread.

  197. Can you see that. What's the relation? There's no relation.

  198. But see Stephen and the Dickens, the seven of them,

  199. I believe, and I know from scripture they knew the

  200. Word of God. So in their daily need, for example,

  201. the ad ministering with the woman or the son or

  202. the man said oh, you're going to something. Okay, here's

  203. your need, here's the cloth that you need, but let

  204. me pray for you. So it comes with that, and

  205. with that service, with that obedience, the Church.

  206. Of God continued to grow.

  207. It is not just the pastest responsibility to preach a

  208. good message. And then you get so on fire and

  209. then you say, Okay, I'm going to invite you with

  210. a church. No, it's the little things that you do

  211. as well in missions. It's the little things that you

  212. do out there, shopping the floor, carrying umbrella for someone,

  213. washing someone's plate, helping someone out, taking someone out for dinner.

  214. You know, it's the little things that you do that

  215. will also allow the chids to grow and people can

  216. get saved through. This is so powerful and so amazing

  217. to see recorded in this way. Yeah, it could have

  218. easily ended by saying okay, and Steven and the seven

  219. were chose to serve full stock.

  220. No, but they had to tell you.

  221. Luke had to point out that the gospel grew, the

  222. gospel spread, and people heard the gospel through this Amen,

  223. the families, their children, and the YadA YadA, okay, from

  224. verse seven all the way up to verse eight. You know,

  225. we don't know how long. How long has passed, right,

  226. We have no idea. It could be one year, it

  227. could be two years, be three years.

  228. We don't know, right.

  229. But Steven, a lot of you that maybe came through

  230. Sunday School would have known that he's the first Christian martyr.

  231. Or at least what it was recorded. Right, Steven is

  232. known to be the first Christian. Matter, Now, how was

  233. seeing martyred? Many of you know that he was torn

  234. and virtual rocks at him. Now, whether you have the

  235. right picture of what stoning actually looks like in your head,

  236. I'm not sure, but I will try to help you

  237. to get that covered today.

  238. Okay.

  239. So Steven must have been very aware of what comes

  240. with the gospel, because remember he was chosen by the

  241. Hellenes group, approved by the disciples, and he would have known,

  242. he would have known how the apostles lived their lives. Right,

  243. And here we go here, it's very important to constantly

  244. recognize right that we are weak. We are we are

  245. really weak, and he's in that weakness that we can

  246. ask for bonus, you know. X Chapter four speaks about

  247. Peter and John praying to God to grant them bonus

  248. because Peter and John, I can tell you what the transformation.

  249. You know, John, John ended, I don't know how may

  250. you remembered the last lintion I preached on Peter and

  251. his denial of Jesus.

  252. And then on.

  253. The right John was like, hey, watlar and then you

  254. just said you don't don't bother about Peter, worry you

  255. by yourself. So it's like they have this funny relationship,

  256. but they really respect each other. It's like in the

  257. book it's always Peter and John, Pit and John, Peter

  258. and John, right, and of first other disciples as well.

  259. But Peter, John and the other disciples.

  260. They let me just plain.

  261. A picture, right, They were always pushing the world of God,

  262. getting caught in prison, getting released, pressure word of God,

  263. getting one not to push the word of God, pressure

  264. world God, getting caught, going to prison again. And he continued,

  265. I don't know how many times it happened. It seems

  266. to be like a cycle. You want to push a

  267. word of God, you want to push your gospel, get

  268. ready to go in the prison, and get ready to

  269. be released. A lot of times we pray to God

  270. to release us from our situations, our negative situations, right,

  271. our persecutions. Oh Lord, I am getting persecuted here, I'm

  272. on the cross, and I can't take this anymore.

  273. Lord, release me.

  274. And then one day God releases you, and then you

  275. go on into this world, and then you go along

  276. with your own your own life, your own thing. Peter

  277. and John and the Disciples will release to do the

  278. will of the Father, not for their own freedom. They

  279. will release in order to speak and preach the word

  280. of God. So much so that when they were given

  281. a final warning and say, you better not preach Jesus again.

  282. I'm talking about the Sanhedrim, the counsel, the one that

  283. was appointed to be the leader of over the church

  284. right or other seene of God the temple. And they

  285. are you better not preach Jesus again.

  286. You do this again. If you you you die.

  287. You will kill you. You'll kill you, You'll get your prison.

  288. You're going to touch you, you and whatnot. And Peter and

  289. John say this, how can I not but speak all

  290. the things that I've heard and seen? I don't know

  291. how many of you here have heard and seen God's

  292. goodness in your life, And how many of you here

  293. can outrightly say how can I not but speak? You

  294. got to speak, because if you do not speak, the

  295. gospel will not propagate. At least true you trust me,

  296. the gospel will propagate with all without you. But whether

  297. or not you want to be part of that plan,

  298. whether you don't want to be fulfilling God's will for

  299. your life. And a few weeks ago. I appreciate about

  300. your scantification. You don't know when it's the day that

  301. you would deny Christ. You will not know until and

  302. unless you continue to daily walk with Him, walk with God,

  303. pick up your cross daily. That will enable you to

  304. fulfill your calling. So Steven was doing that. He was

  305. reaching the world of God, and it grew.

  306. It grew. Even the priests will obedient to the faith.

  307. Even people that will against him began to see the truth.

  308. That the truth was set them free, and they were free.

  309. The peace of God was on their lives.

  310. Amen.

  311. Okay, how many will use your life today? Okay, okay,

  312. So here you go verse eight and Steven full of

  313. faith and power x one eight did great wonders and

  314. signs among the people. Now, this was more than enough

  315. to tell me that Stephen was not just any nobody.

  316. He was someone that was able to walk the talk.

  317. Meaning he was so confident in the faith that he

  318. could say to the blind man, or he can say

  319. to the person that is sick, or he can say

  320. to the demon that's in the person.

  321. Get out right.

  322. He was able to deliver. Now I didn't know what

  323. exactly what he signs and wonders. But I was able

  324. to draw this out from his fellow friend Philip Right. Philip,

  325. in the following chapters managed to also deliver people from sickners,

  326. from demons and whatnot. Okay, So I would imagine the

  327. Wonders and Sciences refers to that. Now, what happens when

  328. you know someone in back in the day where people

  329. see these happening, People get jealous, People get like, how

  330. come it's not me because all the focus is on them. Now, Oh,

  331. the apostles go around and they're doing miracles, they're doing

  332. science within wonders.

  333. And then here's me.

  334. Nobody's coming to me anymore, the council, nobody's coming to

  335. the church anymore. Oh man, Then where am I gonna

  336. get my offering? Or when am I gonna get my beef?

  337. When we're gonna get my lamb?

  338. Right?

  339. I just imagine. It's no Bible is or imagination. You

  340. just imagine what's happening by the day. And I believe

  341. that developed some sort of maybe jealousy, some sort of

  342. like hurt, like you know, he's doing what I know

  343. what he's doing the right thing because we'll see it later.

  344. Right when the people that were from the Senegu of freedmen, right,

  345. only church or freemen, but actually they're not really free.

  346. Alexandrin's and those from Sicilia and Asia, okay, we will

  347. call them the artists. Okay, the artists were dispute thing

  348. with Steven. I mean they're trying to dialogue. You're trying

  349. to say, hey, Steven, that's all right. But see what

  350. happened after that, And they were not able to resist

  351. the wisdom and the spirit by which is full.

  352. You couldn't resist, meaning you say right.

  353. They could not find any gap to say that Stephen,

  354. you're wrong. They cannot they acknowledge. So you can see

  355. there's an acknowledgement in there. But what happened after that

  356. is so hypocritical because it's like I know I'm wrong,

  357. but yet I want to be right. I don't know

  358. how many of us here have been in the stitution

  359. for you know you're wrong, but you're telling others you're right.

  360. You're like, you know, Malaysia BM, you're trying to cause

  361. problem in this world.

  362. But here we go, here we go. But all of

  363. this are forget about myself.

  364. I'm mosto lighted when I was younger, away someone someone

  365. you know you know back in the day, right, how

  366. we celebrate both day is by when they sit down there,

  367. when they stand up, they go money teacher, right when

  368. they say that, I just pulled the chair and that's

  369. a happy birthday.

  370. So they sit down under their teacher. Say who do that?

  371. I say that the guy and then the guy can

  372. Mara stand outside and do uh Jemmy and I just

  373. laughing side. Okay, there's me. I did it so many

  374. times nobody caught me. Nobody called me because I wasn't

  375. the best of looking, you know, go looking, so nobody

  376. nobody really caught me, caught on of me. Uh so

  377. I was doing that for almost three years. Okay, so

  378. uh there's me. I'm the chair buller.

  379. Okay.

  380. So uh so they had what they did, they get

  381. it right. They had a secretly, secretly induced man to

  382. say we have heard him speak flash firmus words against

  383. Moses and God, and they stirred out the people, the eldest,

  384. the scribes mount but around uh by, But like, okay,

  385. you want not enough to do a little bit.

  386. I want to do more.

  387. Okay, I want to make I want to make even bigger,

  388. even go to the eldest you know they are you

  389. know the scribes tell you what. And they came upon

  390. him for the scribes. Can you imagine elder coming upon you? Okay, okay,

  391. scribe elders, They came upon him, seized him and brought

  392. him to the council. Okay, So now they will before

  393. the council, before the leaders.

  394. Ready, Okay. They also set up false witness who this

  395. very fouse witness.

  396. I believe there's some perils with Jesus right was being

  397. tried right, And they set up fouse fitness right who say,

  398. this man does not cease what.

  399. Don't stop the follow talking non stop?

  400. He talking, no cease to speak black whomen's words against

  401. this holy place. First they talk about Moses, then they

  402. talk about God, then talk about holy place right, and

  403. then they talk about the law. You know, Chief and

  404. elders span in the day, all they knew about is

  405. the law. And in fact they were so for the

  406. law that they came out your six hundred and thirteen commandments.

  407. I don't know how you heard this term before. Okay,

  408. From the ten commandments, they came out your six hundred

  409. and thirteen commandments to follow. And now the six hundred

  410. and thirteen commandments. A majority was do not do this,

  411. do not do this, do not do this, do not

  412. do this, do this all negative?

  413. Right? Men like to over complicate things. God give you

  414. ten God moments.

  415. You're gonna mix it an enterthy Okay, that's what storty

  416. for another, go and look it up.

  417. Okay. So then they talk at attack.

  418. The law, for we have heard him say that this

  419. Jesus on Nazaus will destroy this place and change the

  420. customs which Moses delivered to us. And all who said

  421. in the council, looking step fastly at him, saw his

  422. face as the face of an angel. You know in missions? Oh,

  423. by the way, I haven't introduced the title. The title

  424. is the the Surprise to Pay. Okay, sorry I didn't.

  425. I forgot about that Surprise to Pay. So you know

  426. when when when you when you're in missions, when you're

  427. in in the the the agenda of sharing the Gospel,

  428. there are times in which you are going to be

  429. faced with this. People ask you questions such as like,

  430. what do you pray?

  431. Why do you fuss? Oh?

  432. Why so boring, Kamela, fellowship us have some beer, right,

  433. that's party until the night turns into the morning.

  434. Right, Why you don't do this? Why why? Why? Why not?

  435. And you're gonna be faced with situations like this in

  436. whish you say, oh, because tomorrow got church, and they're

  437. gonna say, oh, you two churchy, churchy to gooach two shoes. Right,

  438. You're gonna say you are you are so lame, you're

  439. church freak, You're Jesus freak. I tell you what, I'd

  440. rather be called Jesus freak because I want to be

  441. a freak for Jesus.

  442. I want to be crazy for Jesus. Right.

  443. I don't know how many of you want to be

  444. crazy for just I want to be crazy for Jesus.

  445. I don't know if I'm there already, but I'm trying

  446. my best. But part of the power of the Holy Spirit,

  447. I believe you can draw closer and closer to Jesus.

  448. But so the people in that situation, it's all stress,

  449. high sticks. Right away, you'll understand high stakes. I don't

  450. know how many LUs on the console looking at him,

  451. staring at him. The only thing that they could see

  452. on his face was this face that I believe smiling,

  453. that I believe was the most wonderful face they ever

  454. seen in their life, because it was recorded that it

  455. was as the face of an angel. How they know

  456. what an angel looked like, I don't know. They have

  457. definitions of how the angel looked like in the old Deestamon,

  458. but all angelic creatures, right they He's like so much peace,

  459. and you know in scriptures, his perfect peace, perfect love

  460. casts out all fear. So I believe that it was

  461. the perfect love of God that was commanded back to

  462. the disciples. I believe, taught to the deacons, taught to

  463. the people of the church, that was adapted by Stephen,

  464. that enabled him to have this perfect peace because there

  465. was no fear. There was no fear in his heart.

  466. There was no fear, even though it's normal to be

  467. fearful in this situation. But I believe because he loved

  468. God so much, that it was God's love that casts

  469. out of here. Can you see how scripture relates with scripture?

  470. Right?

  471. That's why I believe that that this was there. Now

  472. where am I trying to get it? You know, Jesus

  473. himself was tempted. The Holy Spirit led Jesus to be

  474. tempted in the wilderness. In fact, that was the first

  475. thing that he did after he was baptized. By John the.

  476. Case of Stephen Right.

  477. He was doing the will of God, preaching, performing great science,

  478. great wonders amongst the people of God, and then the

  479. resistance came. You know, in life, that is one of

  480. the litmus tests as it tests where you are actually

  481. fulfilling God's will for you is when people try to

  482. stop you.

  483. From sharing the love of God.

  484. For trying to stop you, people are getting anxious for

  485. trying to is getting very obvious that they're just trying

  486. to stop you. The enemy, right, does not necessarily need,

  487. not necessarily need to like stop you from will to church.

  488. He doesn't even do that.

  489. He doesn't make enough noise for you to be like

  490. today maybe church's not readly the most important, or today

  491. be opening the Bible, it's not the most important. Or

  492. today maybe militiaba is more important. I you know, different

  493. things that may even or today maybe my husband's more important.

  494. Today my my husband's my husband's wife, my husband's a

  495. birth day. I cannot I cannot do anything today because

  496. it's my husband's birthday. I must plan and God see

  497. godless all trying to say something. You know, it's something

  498. that they're just trying to make enough noise. See noise

  499. is you're listening to that, right, not me anymore?

  500. Okay, So.

  501. Enough noise enough for you to deviate, right, So I

  502. believe this is happening. Okay, So I'm gonna give you

  503. a word over here, blessu for me. What's the meaning

  504. of a blessure for me?

  505. The blessure me is the action offense of speaking sacrilegiously

  506. about God or sacred things, I e. Profane talk. Okay.

  507. When I was going through this, I was sorry, What

  508. in the world is sacrilegious? Sounds like a timeail word?

  509. Okay?

  510. So secridlygious is actually violation or misuse of what is

  511. regarded as sacred right.

  512. You are violating, they are accusing. It's such a big accusation,

  513. you know.

  514. But look at what scripture says they could not dispute

  515. with Stephen. Can you see that they knew that they

  516. were wrong, but yet they were going the extra mole

  517. in the opposite way to just put this person down. Now,

  518. missions may feel that way when we step into it.

  519. I'm not saying what kind of missions again? Missions cross cultural?

  520. As long as you're doing anything cross cultural sharing the gospel.

  521. That's missions.

  522. It may feel that way. But let's see how Stephen responded.

  523. I think this is very beautiful, so follow me even

  524. as we go along this. So Stephen was accused of

  525. a few things.

  526. I have a slight there. If actually we can follow me,

  527. they'll be great.

  528. He was accused of being bleshomers, uttering blash women's words

  529. against Moses.

  530. Right.

  531. He was also accused of uttering breshomous words against God,

  532. against the holy place, which is the temple, and against

  533. the law. And ultimately, he also said that Jesus or

  534. Nazarus will destroyed his place and changed all the accoustas

  535. He's gonna wipe everything away.

  536. Right, everything you used to know, forget it. Now. Let's

  537. see how Stephen responded.

  538. Okay, so when your emissions, when you're face with persecution,

  539. because you are going to face be face with persecution,

  540. this is how you should respond.

  541. Okay, let's you learn from Stephen.

  542. Then the High Priest said, are these things so wow?

  543. Guilty or not guilty?

  544. Right?

  545. They give you a chance for the person to speak

  546. in the call of law, So Stephen said, Stephen could

  547. start by saying you are good for nothing. People, You're

  548. gonna die, right, because these are just words you know

  549. being outplate road plate out the accusation. I tell you

  550. someone us being accused of not washing the place, so

  551. you feel said ready, right, Sometimes my wife say I

  552. never washed the plate. Then you know, for ten days

  553. I washed, I didn't wash the plate. Then that one

  554. day that I washed the plate, right, she said, I

  555. didn't wash the plate. I'm like, nah, I'm having none

  556. of that, man, I didn't think about a ten days

  557. I didn't wash. I forget all the ten days that

  558. I'm just exagerating. I do wash the plates, right. But

  559. you sometimes you forget and you get so angry. You

  560. just get so caught up with the moment that you

  561. just want nothing but to make this for go and

  562. fly kite, right, you don't, you just this person just

  563. get disappear from my life in the name of whatever.

  564. Right.

  565. Sometimes we just want to do that on the car

  566. when we are face if something someone other thing else,

  567. we just want to just bang him and then you

  568. fly and go to another dimension then and and that's

  569. just what we do sometimes that humans being. But Stephen,

  570. see how you responded brethren for this? Can you see

  571. the politeness in his words? Still call them brethren, you know,

  572. bro friend, Still call them farther. You know, after all

  573. the accusation that you put me through. I nah, what

  574. this how you started?

  575. You know why?

  576. Because the fruit of the Holy Spirit is long suffering.

  577. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is kindness. And because

  578. he was Remember, he was chosen, and he was man

  579. full of faith and.

  580. Full of the spirit.

  581. So everything that he does here, if you have not

  582. catched on e colony, is only because of the Holy Spirit.

  583. It was a Holy Spirit that came upon the Upper Room,

  584. the Holy Spirit that came as a physical sign upon

  585. each and every one of their hates, the apostles, and

  586. they received and they begin to speak in tongues that

  587. other people can't recognize as their old language.

  588. So it's the power of.

  589. The Holy Spirit that was enabling Stephen. Here's how he

  590. started the God of glory. You know what The first next, like,

  591. the first thing that the counsel or the people the

  592. others accused him of is being blash mist against Moses. Now,

  593. if I want to accuse anyone of being blash mist

  594. against anything, I will accuse you of being bresh mess

  595. against God.

  596. First, right, you.

  597. Can already see a pattern that the people that were

  598. so called the leaders or so called the faithful goers

  599. of the church even put Moses ahead of God. Can

  600. you see that they accused him of being bresh Men?

  601. Was Moses first, then God? But the way Steven responded

  602. is by giving God the glory. He started by saying,

  603. the God of glory. Now, the God of Glory can

  604. only be found in one other place in the Bible.

  605. That's in the Book of Sums. You're going to find it,

  606. David wrote about him. Now, the God of glory. Immediately

  607. you're the understander. The people that were against Stephen, right,

  608. they could not dispute him. I'm saying this for a

  609. third time day. They could not dispel means they knew

  610. what Stephen said. So they cannot come in front of

  611. the counsel right and say, nah, he didn't say that.

  612. He say that now you say that hearne, But at

  613. the time he actually didn't say He actually was actually

  614. ready besher means against God. No, he couldn't say that.

  615. They had to agree. So the very first moment that

  616. Stephen actually said the God of glory, the first point

  617. can cut out all day. How is that Breshmis's towards God?

  618. How is that bresh Woman's towards God. And he didn't

  619. stop there. He went on right. He went on to

  620. Jacob Abraham. This is a story of Abraham. He was preaching.

  621. This is why the Charter is so long, by the way,

  622. sixty verses, because he took so much time in putting

  623. God first.

  624. It was all about God. It was all.

  625. Pointing to Jesus, trying to paint a picture of Jesus.

  626. There was being promis like even way back then, now,

  627. this councilmen, these people knew the Old Testament. Even Jesus

  628. himself said that you know the world, you know the scripture,

  629. but you don't know Me, so they cannot deny. So

  630. when what Stephen did was he used what they knew

  631. in order to preach the gospel. When you are in missions,

  632. you may be in that caught up in that situation

  633. as well. You may be in a place where you

  634. need to understand your culture. You just can't just go

  635. there and just, you know, do whatever that makes you happy.

  636. Oh I am used to echon. Now I go missions.

  637. I got no echon. How Hello, It's all about you.

  638. It's about the people, and these people are not even

  639. the people that he You will naturally reach out to

  640. These are people that are accusers. They judge you. But

  641. Stephen when the extra month, we will see that later.

  642. So Abraham, Isaac, Jacob right all the way up to

  643. verse eight. If following with me, if your Bibles you

  644. really have to follow in it, you will get lost.

  645. So chapter seven, verse eight, Jacob begot the child protects

  646. and from there.

  647. Joseph was out. So the story of Joseph right.

  648. But God was with him and delivered him out of

  649. all his troubles. Again, the character of God was being

  650. proclaimed in the message of Stephen. So you cannot deny

  651. that he was being blesh Mians towards God. You can't

  652. see that he was. He was just giving God glory.

  653. The entire time.

  654. This message, I believe, was the same message that the

  655. councilman heard, or the others heard, or at least in

  656. the shorter form right, because they could they could not dispute.

  657. And then after that, of course, we know the story

  658. of Joseph.

  659. We're not going to go there.

  660. Joseph was the greatest prime minister of Egypt, right, and

  661. then he fixed a lot of things, you know, he.

  662. Made Egypt great again.

  663. And then came a time where there was a king

  664. that did not know what happened, because we know that

  665. as Pharaoh. And then at this time verse twenty, Moses

  666. was born. Hallelujah. I don't know how many Moses is here.

  667. Moses was born and was well pleasing to God. Now,

  668. if I was bleashless against Moses, why would I say

  669. that he was well pisying to the God that I

  670. just said, it's the God of glory. Why why would

  671. I say that? So it's like point after point, Stephen

  672. is just debunking one by one. Nah, not this, not

  673. for himself. He did not for once aftered. Oh I

  674. am saying this.

  675. I'm saying no.

  676. He just went again and again, time and time again

  677. about the character of God.

  678. All right.

  679. So when all that the story of Moses was there

  680. forty years, you know, he was around, came back sort

  681. of friend, being bullied, being tortured, and he killed the

  682. Egyptian you know the story. You know the story the

  683. rat sea and everything. And then we come to verse

  684. thirty seven. This is that Moses who said to your

  685. children of Israel, the Lord your God will raise up

  686. a prophet like me from your brethren him you shall hear. Now,

  687. of course we know that the prophet that Moses was

  688. referring to is none other than Jesus. Okay, so Steven

  689. was just pointing out Jesus. It's not like Jesus was

  690. not prophesied in the Old Testament. And the Jews knew

  691. that if the gentles I can understand. But the Jews

  692. knew that the people that were really, you know, practicing Judaism,

  693. they knew that. They knew, they knew the Old Testament.

  694. They knew about the Forefathers, they knew about I Rehab,

  695. they knew about Isaac, knewbou Jacob, they knew, they knew

  696. everything that happened. Steve was just trying to point out that, hey,

  697. remember these Moses that you adore and worship. He said

  698. that there is a prophet that's going to come and

  699. you are going to worship him. Of course, in our

  700. Bibles we have the courtesy of seeing the prophet in

  701. capital p so we know that he's referring to Jesus.

  702. Amen go so far lost already? Anyone still lost? I

  703. see taking sefe But okay, all good? Oh good, get

  704. I want okay, So verse forty four, our fathers had

  705. the Tabernacle of witnesses in the wilderness as he appointed,

  706. instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that

  707. he had seen. Now, this is the part in which

  708. Stephen was talking about the tabernacle because he was being

  709. accused of trying to decimate the holy place. You know

  710. that in the in in this in this day and age,

  711. they were just thinking about the temple. No Jesus coming

  712. to destroy a temple, right, you're talking better about a temple. No, Still,

  713. aren't trying to remind them in verse for the eight however,

  714. the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands.

  715. And the prophet says, heaven is my throne and the

  716. earth is my footstore. What house were you built for me,

  717. says the Lord? Or what is this place of my rest?

  718. Has my hand not made all these things? Stillness trying

  719. to show the counsel that it is not a temple

  720. that God instructed us to build. It was a tabernacle.

  721. It was a place of worship. It didn't have to be.

  722. But we like to glory, and that's good, Well, glorify

  723. God temple and whatnot, but it shouldn't be the main thing.

  724. You shouldn't worship the temple you should worship the God

  725. of the Temple, and that was what Stephen was trying

  726. to allude to. Right, So this is where it gets

  727. a very drastic. Okay, so verse fifty one you stiff

  728. neck and uncircumcised in heart and years. Well, if you

  729. hear this for the first time, I don't know whether

  730. you'll get angry in it. You always resist the Holy Spirit,

  731. as your fathers did, so do you. It's a baron.

  732. Israel resisted the Holy Spirit. Israel resisted God from the

  733. start of the day. Right, There's always deliverance and then resistance.

  734. Deliverance and then resistance. And they killed those who fetold

  735. the coming of the just One killed, and then they

  736. killed the just One himself. Right, they persecuted him, they

  737. crucified him, or whom you have now become betrayers and

  738. murderers who have received the law by the direction of

  739. angels and have not kept it. You shall not murder,

  740. shall not steal. You have received the law. You have

  741. received the law. You know you know all of this,

  742. but you have not kept it. You know that Moses

  743. talked about the prophet, but you have not kept it.

  744. You know, you know deep down your heart that is true.

  745. But sometimes you just have to resist. And the reason

  746. I believe that they were genuinely not able to see

  747. the truth was because they did not receive the Holy Spirit.

  748. The Holy Spirit was the difference between Stephen and the Council.

  749. The Holy Spirit, just one entity, was the difference between

  750. understanding scripture and not understanding scripture. Oblievious, can't fold them,

  751. can't blame them because they denied the Holy Spirit. They

  752. resisted the Holy Spirit because it's very apparent, and it's

  753. every apparent scripture that Holy Spirit is for all. As

  754. long as you believe in Jesus, as long as you believe,

  755. you open up your hearts, you call for the Holy

  756. Spirit to come into you, and he will come. So

  757. it's a matter of when. But you have to ask,

  758. You have to open up your hearts. And I believe

  759. Stephen asked not just by words, but by action.

  760. Right amen. So this is where we.

  761. Get to the story. That's why so long, so long,

  762. I can't tell you what I implore you, friends, church,

  763. go by and read. Go by and read Act the

  764. self for yourself. Go and read. It's a really amazing story.

  765. It's like the entire boot of Exodus and Genesis summarize, okay,

  766. and even further. Okay, So here we go verse fifty four.

  767. Verse fifty four, This was the rea action of the council.

  768. So we have the reaction of Stephen to what he

  769. was being accused for. Now we have the reaction of

  770. the council. How did the council react fifty four? When

  771. they heard these things? They were cut to the heart.

  772. What does that mean? That means they recognize that it's truth.

  773. Why would you be cut to the heart if it's

  774. not true. If I say something that is untrue about you,

  775. you won't border right. But they were cut to herd

  776. because they knew that it was the truth, and they

  777. were being bounded. And I tell you what, look at

  778. how they acted after that, and they at him with

  779. their teeth. Oh where else have we seen the word

  780. gnashing of teeth? Jesus described Hell as that there will

  781. be gnashing of teeth. Can you imagine, elders, can you

  782. imagine past the hey, imagine all your leaders standing in

  783. front of here right gnashing their teeth just like looking

  784. to devour you, like can't wait to like right into

  785. you and just.

  786. Get rid of you.

  787. That's what happened this is a grown wise man that

  788. know the Gospel, that know or rather or other leg

  789. of the Gospel, know the Torah, no, the Old Testament.

  790. But they were acting like like be no longer humans.

  791. It's like they lost the ability to think the at

  792. their teeth. But at that time you were still like

  793. you're still still control.

  794. But see what happened after that.

  795. But hey, it's beautiful Sea Stevena could have been very,

  796. very afraid at this moment, but look at what what what? What?

  797. Actually he did he, being full of the again, full

  798. of the Holy Spirit, friends, says the key, being full

  799. of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven, saw the glory

  800. of God.

  801. Remember he referred to God as the God of Glory.

  802. Saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the

  803. right hand of God. Now do you're notice something different

  804. than when Jesus is referred to as being at the

  805. right hand of God. He's always referred to as sitting

  806. because the work is done.

  807. It is finished.

  808. You know, Jesus famously said that it is finished when

  809. I'm there set, I'm done no longer, there's no longer

  810. anything to do on earth for me, for Jesus, I

  811. don't it all. But he's Tan. You notice that he's

  812. tan and he was standing. I believe because Jesus was

  813. getting ready to receive his humble servant into his arms.

  814. He was standing. I believe. My interpretation, my honest interpretion. Okay,

  815. you may have your own for why why is standing Father?

  816. I am I am interceding for Stephen. The Holy Spirit

  817. is interceding to me.

  818. I am the father Father.

  819. This is my child, this is your child, which we

  820. are well pleased. Can you see that When Steven saw that,

  821. I believe he said, look, I see the heavens open

  822. and the son of Men standing at the right hand

  823. of God.

  824. Wow. That was the trigger point. If there was a bullet,

  825. that was the bullet.

  826. The moment they heard that, they cried out, not just nashinger,

  827. they were wailing, you know, like aha, can you imagine?

  828. That is crazy? These are people that are all statue,

  829. you know, crying. They wail out with a loud voice.

  830. Are you Oh?

  831. And then they put their hands and their ears become

  832. like baby, you know the last time, put your boo boo.

  833. I don't want to hear you.

  834. That's what they do.

  835. Well, they don't wanna hear they don't wanna hear, and

  836. then they read in him.

  837. Something to read the Bible. It's good.

  838. It's good to have drama, because that is I believe.

  839. But I don't know how big the council was. I

  840. believe it was a stampede. Steven is one person, and

  841. I love Jesus, run and him, you know. And then

  842. they cast him out of the city and stone him. Wow,

  843. just three words, and he sometimes read and they cast

  844. him out of the city and stone him. And the witnesses, Hello,

  845. do you know how do you know how painful? You

  846. know how crazy it is to be stone now? Stoning

  847. is a punishment of Jewish culture for blashooming against God.

  848. They were just they were supposed to take them, take

  849. Steven to Rome. They were supposed to do that. They

  850. forget all of that. They're like, I'm gonna take it

  851. into my own hands. I'm gonna kill this word in

  852. my own great hands. And the entire council of leaders

  853. did that in one accord. In one accord, they ran it.

  854. He are you when it's the last time you were united?

  855. Then tire, everyone was united to kill this feller. Did

  856. I came out of the city. Now the mental suffering

  857. you know, sometimes you have to talk about mental health.

  858. We like to talk about physical shameness. We got to

  859. talk about right, physical suffering. Can you imagine you are

  860. very own people that were supposed to believe that in God,

  861. the very own people are sometimes the missions.

  862. You may feel that way, So don't be a surprised pass.

  863. The enemy may come to you.

  864. One day I say, don't myself, don't, don't, don't go

  865. to this mission ship. I think you should do this instated.

  866. I think you should give me money instead. Hey, I wouldn't.

  867. I wouldn't.

  868. I wouldn't take that away from me, you know, because

  869. honestly the heartnest dicivil way. I had to gut myself here.

  870. I had to cut myself, and not by my own strength,

  871. you know. But it might happen, right, But they accused him.

  872. They accused him. Another thing is being dragged out in

  873. the city. I'll imagine in front of an audience. Can

  874. imagine city, city, got everybody stopped, and everybody's in stem

  875. I believe he was.

  876. He was in daylight.

  877. Right, you can't have counsel at night, so he was

  878. in daylight. He was in in the no no something

  879. being shamed the extent friends, all the people that he

  880. was serving might be looking at him.

  881. Nobody stood up. Nobody show up. You know this. He

  882. was being stoned, soddenly die, but nobody. Nobody stood up. Okay,

  883. he was alone.

  884. He had every reason to cry to God, God, strike

  885. down your thunder and kill them.

  886. I caught off firelight Elijah. I did hear.

  887. Every right to do that, And I don't know whether

  888. maybe maybe it would have happened, But he didn't. Look

  889. at how he responded. And the witnesses laid down their

  890. clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul

  891. and his stone Stephen as he was calling on God.

  892. The first time I read this, I shed a tear

  893. because he's so unfavor noble to imagine saying, Lord Jesus

  894. received my spirit Verse sixty. Then he knelt down. Now

  895. I don't know I mentioned stoning earlier, right. Stoning is

  896. in Jewish culture is push you off a cliff. Normally

  897. they'll find a cliff and it's pretty prelocated a relay.

  898. That cliff is not too high that if you fall,

  899. do and drop your die stray away. It's short enough

  900. that you will fall and you might break some bones. Right,

  901. you might break some bones and you will immobilize, you'll

  902. be able to walk. What they will then do is

  903. take up stones and they speaking the true right, being

  904. the true and if the stones do not kill you,

  905. they'll drop a big rock on you and you'll just die.

  906. Okay, that is stoning.

  907. I believe that it's one of the worst ways to

  908. die apart from the cross.

  909. It's one of the worst. And Steven had to go

  910. through this, and look at this.

  911. Some of us myself, I find I need difficult to

  912. kneel that in pray now. Call it me problem la, whatever,

  913. in jury la, whatever it is that I find it

  914. difficult to knew that pray Now. Kneeling down is not

  915. just like oh, if you don't kneel thatw you won't

  916. end the heaven. No, kneeling down is a sound of surrender.

  917. You also you can also kneel down your heart like

  918. are you really surrendered to God? Because kneeling now is uncomfortable?

  919. Have you really surrendered God? And look at so what

  920. Stephen did. Stephen knelt down first sign of surrender. Ready

  921. while being stoner by the way, the stone ever stop

  922. coming out? Still Pa, Pa still can think I need

  923. to kneel down. I need to worship God. I need

  924. to work. I need to worship kneel down and cried

  925. out with a loud voice, not just silently, because sometimes

  926. emissions we do decide silently.

  927. Myself included. We doing silently. We just keep it to ourselves.

  928. We don't.

  929. We don't like proclaim the goodness of God. But he

  930. shouted with a loud voice. Lord, do not charge them

  931. with this sin. Sounds familiar, Father, forgive them, for they

  932. do not know what they are doing.

  933. Sounds familiar.

  934. See the peril between Stephen and Jesus himself, and when

  935. he has.

  936. Sit there, he fell asleep. What a way to go out?

  937. You know? What a way to go out?

  938. Right?

  939. What away?

  940. How many of us here? You want to die by

  941. falling asleep? I think if I were to die, I

  942. want to fall asleep and Dieala right. I don't want

  943. to go out in pain. I don't go in whatever.

  944. But this this man full of faith. Wow, it's not

  945. like the pain is being protected by the Holy Spirit.

  946. Jesus felt every single ounce of pain, you know. Wow,

  947. the cross Stephen felt every single out of way. It's

  948. not that the Holy Spirit is like a shield, and

  949. then Papa no feeling. Hello, he bled, he bled. We

  950. know that because Paul himself said that the blood came

  951. upon him on the floor or whatever. And these people

  952. were so on fire to stone him, he had to

  953. take out their clothes and put it on the on

  954. this young man named Saul, so that there's no air resistance. Right.

  955. I don't have any any blockages anywhere that I can,

  956. and I can show you all my mind.

  957. So he's crazy.

  958. And Steven's response to all of this in his mission

  959. field doing Jerusalem was to cry to God to forgive

  960. those that are against him. Wow, I believe that is

  961. the gospel. That is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because

  962. remember remember the commandment is to love others as you

  963. love yourself.

  964. Is to love God is to love your enemies.

  965. Stephen won't be able to do this if he did

  966. not know the word of God. But he knew the

  967. word of God. See, so what we can learn from this.

  968. I'm gonna close and give you a few points. I'm

  969. gonna close right.

  970. On. You see three things about Stephen.

  971. Okay, first point, huh, I don't have any other elpha,

  972. but I can't think of away, so I put se

  973. see okay. See in Spanish means yes, okay see in

  974. Spanish means yes. Stephen is a child of God, all right,

  975. and we are all chud of God. And Stephen was

  976. a child of God who said yes.

  977. He said.

  978. See he's a Spanish now okay, he's not Spanish. Ah,

  979. I don't even think Spanish exist like that.

  980. Okay.

  981. So he was a child of God that say yes

  982. in every situation. He just said yes, self, nighbles, yes Lord, self,

  983. wash my feet, watch the fullest feet.

  984. Yes Lord, do this, Yes Lord, cut out demons. Yes Lord.

  985. When have we ever been in this position?

  986. And now I hope we can reflect now that we

  987. say yes until we are so tired that we don't

  988. say yes anymore, because sometimes we may feel that it's

  989. too much, it's a little bit too much. But hey,

  990. maybe your break truth is around the corner. May be

  991. you will continue say yes to Lord the Lord until

  992. you die. Stephen in this situation did not witness the

  993. salvation of those that he was ministering to. You know,

  994. he died, he was killed. He did not witness. You know,

  995. your was others that witness. If you follow the story,

  996. it was artists awiness, the salvation, the fruits of the labor.

  997. All he did was say yes. But imagine if we

  998. stopped saying yes. Second point, endurance. Every single stone that

  999. was coming his way still had to endure. All the

1000. hurt thing words that may come your way, all the

1001. challenges that may come away, all the business that you

1002. may lose because of honoring God is like a stone

1003. that you have to endure. And Stephen was showcasing that

1004. I got to take the stone until my last breath.

1005. I got to take the stone. Third thing, Stephen went

1006. the extra amount. Stephen could have just stopped right I

1007. believe we can just stop right there. But Stephen went

1008. the extra mound to ask the Lord to forgive the

1009. people that were against him. He went the extra mount

1010. to request for forgiveness. It's the same as Jesus, Jesus

1011. when the extra mouth for us. Jesus came all the

1012. way down from Heaven to just save you. Imagine that, however,

1013. you know, I'm going to give you some pointers that

1014. may actually hinder you. There are things that may have

1015. could have Okay, could have not saying it did, but

1016. he could have prevented Stephen from fulfilling his destiny and purpose.

1017. First point, temporary, okay, temporary. He would have not fulfilled

1018. his destiny if he was focusing on things that were

  1019. just on the temporary.

  1020. Okay, if you.

1021. Just focused on the things of the temporary, he would

1022. not have seen his purpose or Second Corine for eighteen says,

1023. while we do not look at the things which are seen,

1024. but at the things which are not seen. For the

1025. things which are seen are temporary, but the things we

1026. are not seen are eternal.

1027. Right, it is the things that you do not see.

  1028. Point number two.

1029. Pride pride could be you know in the way, Oh

  1030. I'm a deacon. Now, I'm a deacon. Now I cannot

1031. do this, all your lowly work, I will not do. Hello,

1032. just say yes. Don't allow your pride to come to you. Right,

1033. don't allow your pride to stop you from from fulfilling

1034. your purpose. Half way half past six right attitude of Didapa.

1035. God will speak you up. If you are luke warm,

1036. he will speak you up. It'll be hot, it'll be

1037. called revelations tree sixteen. Don't be halfway negative before you start,

1038. the better you lose already, should Diane, I are the

1039. exemptual feeling. I can no one, Lah or this guya

1040. need to push the gospeler. He only received you one.

1041. How many of us have said that for this guya,

1042. no need to pray on that he only and I

1043. pray him ten times a day.

1044. They pray with him the eleven time. Lah pray him

1045. the you of time. Keep praying and you die. Don't

1046. say shure die went you diverse to yourself?

1047. Don't don't don't say die die ie people like people

1048. you say die. The next time you say die, just

1049. say that to yourself. That's the only die that you

1050. should die from. Okay, that's the only die. The other

1051. die was Jesus died for you. That's all you should remember. Right,

1052. Stop saying should die? Sure die?

1053. Should you really die? Okay? So in scripture in John Tree.

1054. Thirty says he shall increase, but first and foremost weish

  1055. have to decrease.

1056. So I was just doing the energy. I'm not Steve

1057. saying Steven is a bad name. It's not.

  1058. It's a perfect it's a good name. Right, But you

1059. have to take away more of you, right, Stephen got

1060. seven let us so I took off fall at us,

1061. and what was left is your tree. Let us wish

1062. I give you earlier right see endurance, endurance and extra.

1063. But you will take od.

1064. You gotta take all the thing, trig it out, allow

1065. God to feel it back in. Allow God to feel

1066. it back in. Then you become complete. Then you become

1067. fulfilled in his calling event. And finally what happened. This

1068. is all of this just to say this whole sixty

1069. verses plus all the story. Uh ah, this, all of

  1070. it is what.

1071. Ultimately, it's a seed. See. And then he died so

1072. it becomes seen his actions was a set seed for

1073. what see for what this very message is.

1074. I believe one of the most important summons in the

1075. Book of Acts. It was because of this message that

1076. the Gospel in chapter one, verse eight, went out of

1077. Jerusalem to two days some area.

1078. Wow. Can you see that?

1079. If I were you, I would give glory to God

1080. right now, right, I'll give him glory. I'll clap unto him.

1081. Because it's the gospel that's being propagated. You should be happy.

1082. You should be cheering, not just lifting wats. You should

1083. live wats and cheer. Yeah, sure, cheer, shut it on.

1084. But the gospel being propagated. The next time, somebody except

1085. Jesus Christ is your personal to say, with cheers, someone.

1086. Received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

1087. Cheer, praise God because the angels are rejoicing, the stones

1088. are crying out. But you've got to continue praise God

1089. as well, all right. So he died, he died. Stephen

1090. was full of the spirit. He died being full of

1091. the spirit, allowing him to go through persecution, but at

1092. the same time not shying away from his purpose Glatians

1093. two twenty. I've been crucial hiting Christ is no longer

1094. I who live, but Christ lives in me him denying himself,

1095. and take up my cross daily and follow me. So

1096. he planted a seed, was plunted, har leelujah, praised the Lord.

1097. Oh my goodness, it is so significant. But here's here's

1098. where we have to remember in everything that we do,

1099. if we expect a response or or else you'll be discouraged.

1100. If let's say, you know, there's no response that come

1101. out of this, Remember Stephen, he really did not get

1102. anything out of that. God was able to use something

1103. that's so grim and so dark to start his word

1104. from being shed to the ends of the earth. Remember

1105. First Corinthians Tree, verse six to eight. I planted, Apollos watered.

1106. But it is God who gave the increase.

1107. Amen. Man, it is God who gives the increase. You

  1108. just be faithful.

1109. You just plant, you just water water until God gives

1110. you the increase. Stop asking God when, because nobody knows

1111. when Jesus will come back.

1112. Stop asking him when. Just be faithful to the now. Amen. Amen.

  1113. The vehicle that allowed.

1114. X Chapter one, verse eight to happen is X eight

1115. one persecution. Persecution brought along the propagation of the Gospel.

1116. Without persecution, there won't be any propagation. Because you can

1117. see what happened right after that in X Chapter eight,

1118. verse one. Now Saul was consenting to his death. At

1119. that time, a great persecution arose against the Church which

1120. was at Jerusalem. Even worse things happened. I don't know

1121. what it wasn't spelled out, but I can only imagine.

1122. If the stoning was a persecution, and there was a

1123. great persecution that arose against the church, I can only

1124. imagine what the people had to go through. But it

1125. was because of the Wow that they were all scattered

1126. throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, and the apostles

1127. remained in the region that was heavily persecuted. They did

1128. not just can you see that, they did not run.

1129. You know, they still uphold their responsibility. Doesn't matter, it's

1130. being really particular. I'm gonna still continue this. Bitter John

1131. and the disciples. This is their character, this is who

  1132. they are. It's amazing.

  1133. Amen.

1134. However, this is where the most beautiful part of the

1135. entire story comes. Let's backtrack a little bit, and we're closed,

1136. And can you invite worship man to come up X seven,

1137. verse fifty eight says, and they cast him out of

1138. the city and stone named memories. Remember this, and the

1139. witness lay down their clothes, remember this. They don't have

1140. any resistance at the feet of a young name, young

1141. man named Saul. Now, Saul and Stephen were like opposites

1142. at this point in time, like paula opposites. One wonder

1143. Gospel of propagate. One just wonder would the gospel die? Okay,

1144. Saul of horses young men both around the thirties. We

1145. know this because in X twenty two, verse twenty he says,

1146. and when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed,

1147. I was also standing by consenting to his death and

1148. guarding the clothes of those who were killing him. This

1149. is Saul of Tarsus, and you know the story. Two

1150. chapters later, Solo of Tarsus encountered Jesus, Saul of Tarsus

1151. was baptized, Saul of Tarsus was converted, and of course

1152. finally he was given the name Paul. And you know

1153. Paul and his story. You know how many he how

1154. many people he brought to know Jesus Christ. True and

1155. I was and when Jesus met with Saul, and when

1156. he told Saul is like you're kicking against the goats.

1157. Remember that I believe that God was when Saul was

1158. seeing Stephen being stoned but yet still standing up, kneeling

1159. down and saying, forgive them.

1160. A seed was plunted. Right after that, Saul was still angry.

1161. Saul was still per secure thing, but a seat started

1162. to plan really in his heart that when he encountered

1163. Jesus Christ, he knew that that was God. Remember when

1164. when God first, when Jesus first called out the Saul,

1165. Saul did not know who was dead, but he acknowledged

1166. that by saying, who are you common Lord?

  1167. He knew.

1168. Saul knew Saul was a man full of stair, cheerful

1169. of wisdom. He was a man with three bloodlines. I

1170. believe you know he was you know, Romans education, Greek education,

1171. everything he knew, but yet Christ he did not know.

1172. But yet, because of what Stephen did, a seed was splunted.

1173. And you know that seed appeared not just to be

1174. one singular seat at that time, he was a singular

1175. seat s right s. But when you add the S

1176. to the seat, it becomes seeds. And seeds were planted

1177. because you know, every time, remember this, next time you

1178. go through persecution, friends, there is a Saul watching. There's

1179. always a salt watching. You don't know who the salt is,

1180. but he is watching, right. He may be hating you,

1181. he may hate your guts, he may not agree with you,

1182. but he is watching. And your actions will cause either

1183. a sault to be birth or a sault to be killed.

1184. No actions will cause the propagation of the gospel, or

1185. you will not be involved.

1186. In the profession of the gospel. It's like the ten virgins.

1187. Five kept oil in their lamb, five did not bother,

1188. the keep ail in their lamb.

1189. And finally, when Jesus came and they knocked at the door,

1190. Jesus said, I do not know you. I do not

  1191. know you.

1192. Jesus pass them by. I pray, and I pray that

1193. each and every one of us here today will remember again.

1194. The encouragement to all of us here today is that

1195. the only difference between Stephen and the Councilman and Solid

1196. that time was the lack of the Holy Spirit. So, friends,

1197. if you still do not recognize the power of the

1198. Holy Spirit, if you still do not recognize the giftings

1199. of the Holy Spirit today, I want to pray for you. Okay,

1200. you can be very you know, advancing age, but there's

1201. no age to advance for God, Amen. It is the

1202. Holy Spirit that will enable you to say yes when

1203. you can physically say yes anymore. It is the Holy Spirit.

1204. Do not allow God to pass you by, you know,

1205. Moses say to God, God, we will not go if

1206. you're not with us. God, we need you with us.

1207. That should be the attitude of a believer. That should

1208. be an attitude of a Christian. A Christian is Christ

1209. a christ like person. But a christ like person cannot

1210. be a christ like person without the Holy Spirit. Because

1211. Christ went up, the Christ left behind or other scent.

1212. Someone who is greater Jesus himself, said this, if I

1213. do not go, he will not come. Jesus went and

1214. the Holy Spirit came, and that's what we all have

1215. access to today, the Holy Spirit. So I believe and

1216. I pray that you have been blessed. I pray that

1217. you will acknowledge that it is your reaction. It is

1218. your decisions that may either cause you to be for

  1219. God or against God.

1220. You can't be lukewarm. You'll either be hot or close.

1221. So friends, as we close, I would like to just

1222. be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

1223. If that's you today, we.

1224. Hope you've been blessed by this message. For more information

1225. on our church, please visit axchurch do org. We are

1227. week is going to be a good week. I hit

  1228. for you. God bless
